Latest / Mental Per4mance Daily with Adam Rutz / Act As If
Transcript
- Adam Rutz: Act as if, one of my favorite lessons. Act as if you're already becoming the person you know you're capable of becoming. One thing I've heard my mentor Brian Kane talk about is that things happen twice. First in your mind and then in reality. And I think there's such a powerful lesson in that because before you consistently perform like an elite competitor, you have to start seeing yourself as one. Walk with big body language. Speak with confidence. Prepare like you expect to perform at the highest level. Carry yourself like somebody who can handle pressure. That doesn't mean pretending you've accomplished something you haven't. It means your identity starts leading your behavior. If you want to become a great athlete, start preparing like one. If you want to become an elite business owner, start making decisions like one. If you want to become an overall great leader, Start showing up like the leader your team needs today. You're building that person every single day. Every workout, every practice, every sales call, every difficult conversation, every time you keep your word to yourself, and eventually those repetitions become evidence. That evidence will become confidence. And confidence changes the way you compete. Your teammates can feel it. Your competition can feel it. But most importantly, you can feel it. Then remember, your past does not get to determine who you become next. Learn from it. Use it. Then come back to this moment. Here's what I want you to think about today. Who is the person you're trying to become? And how would that person walk, prepare, communicate, and compete today? Then act accordingly. Don't wait until you become that person to start behaving like them. Behave like them long enough, consistently enough, and eventually that's who you're gonna become. Mindset, process, discipline, execution. That's mental performance daily.
