Armed Robbery Ends With Lighter | Auckland News
Last night in Waipukurau, police responded to an armed robbery call — thankfully, no one was hurt and nothing stolen. The suspect fled in a car, prompting a high-speed chase down Takapau Road. Officers safely stopped the vehicle using road spikes on Hatuma Road, arresting two people. The “firearm” turned out to be a lighter. A 39-year-old man now faces charges for presenting a fake firearm and has existing arrest warrants — he’s scheduled to appear in court today.
