- 0:20So sensory overloads is something that happens to
- 0:22autistic people quite often. And Century Overloads one of our
- 0:24main causes of autism meltdowns. Now, if you're familiar with
- 0:27autism, you're familiar with meltdowns.
- 0:28This is uncomfortable. Outbursts of emotions are
- 0:31happens when there is a loss of control in the environment of
- 0:35the autistic individual and it's not good.
- 0:36I myself do have these from time to time and I have to manage
- 0:40with them. So I've written down 3 Tip Top.
- 0:41Navigate your way through these things Now if you're new around
- 0:44here and you haven't downloaded my autism, my fax PDF book, you
- 0:47can do right now from autismhacks.net and it's
- 0:49completely free and the link is in the description down below.
- 0:51OK guys, so the first one I'm going to talk about here is
- 0:53headphones now always carrying noise cancelling headphones with
- 0:56you wherever you go. Now I actually have the Apple
- 0:59Airpod Max, I think they're called now.
- 1:01These are noise cancelling headphones and they're just
- 1:03absolutely fantastic. As soon as you put them on, it
- 1:04kind of blocks out all the noise.
- 1:05And you can just actually, if you're in an environment that's
- 1:07sensory trigger and like an environment where it's too loud,
- 1:09noisy, could be shopping roll, train station anywhere, put
- 1:12these headphones on and it just really does help.
- 1:15It dampens the noise, and it's kind of like one of those things
- 1:17that I would never leave home without because if I'm going
- 1:19somewhere, I know it's going to be noisy.
- 1:20I want to take my headphones because I want to kind of detach
- 1:22from that environment. It's a bit crazy and chaotic,
- 1:24right? So #2 is comfort over class.
- 1:26And I always use this rule, especially when I'm traveling,
- 1:28is that I'm putting on like pajamas or like sweats or
- 1:31anything that's super, super comfy because I want to be
- 1:34comfortable rather than looking stylish, right?
- 1:36And so if I'm traveling on an airplane or bus or car, whether
- 1:39I'll just really chill and just get into, like, the company's
- 1:41clothes of it. As soon as I wanted my
- 1:43destination, I'll just go to the restroom and change into, like,
- 1:45professional clothes, and I go into the event that I'm supposed
- 1:47to do. Now this is amazing because it
- 1:49gives you that control in the environment that you really
- 1:51need, especially when traveling, where this traveling can be kind
- 1:53of quite out of control, so comfortable class wins every
- 1:56time. OK, so #3 is sunglasses.
- 1:58A lot of people overlook the fun, but carrying sunglasses is
- 2:01a really good way to navigate through social situations and
- 2:04also people who are sensitive to light sensitivity, like of the
- 2:06sun's too bright. If light are too bright, put
- 2:08sunglasses on. Helps kind of dampen that light
- 2:11ring in and it dumpens that effect of that sensory input.
- 2:14And also, if you're talking to somebody, this is a pro tip.
- 2:17They believe that you're looking at them in the eyes.
- 2:19Even though it's difficult for us to say, people look people in
- 2:20the eyes because you can look anywhere around them, but you've
- 2:22got sunglasses on so they won't even know.
- 2:24Guys, if this video is life changing for you on anybody
