- 0:15SPEAKER_01: What is going on, ballers?
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: It's your boy Manny James coming at you with the much anticipated episode of the Fancy Football Sports Minds.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: This is one of the last weeks you have before you are jumping into your leagues.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: And let me tell you, some people have a little bit more skin in the game.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: We're not going to talk specifics here, thanks to Big Brother.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: But what I will tell you here is that I'm damn excited.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Joe, how about yourself, my friend?
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: I'm excited for both leagues that I'm in with you.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: I'm excited for all my leagues.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: But yes, the buy-ins a little bit more this year for both your leagues, and I like it too.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: You know, I like having a little more skin in the game.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: I like to have serious players, and we've got serious players.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: And um, we've got a nice mock draft coming up where you and I are both stuck in the middle with the seven and eighth pick.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: So this is going to be a good episode if you're looking to draft from the middle, which a lot of you it's going to end up that way.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: So before we get into that, folks, of course, a word from our sponsors.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Hey there.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: My name is Manny James Gonzalez with PRB, and I'm a real estate agent here in Central Florida.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: I'm a U.S.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: Navy veteran, military relocation pro, and big supporter of 2A and veterans' rights.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: My specialty is VA transactions.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: I'm also experiencing all parts of real estate.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: I've been living in Florida for over 20 years, and I can tell you we still believe in freedom down here.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: One of the greatest job markets, excellent economy, and no state income tax.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: When it comes to an agent, you want one that's gonna be honest, not afraid of a fight, and most importantly, willing to do the things that some agents aren't willing to do.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: And what's that, Manny?
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: Too straight, Dan.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: If you ever consider buying in Central Florida, you need somebody you can trust, and I got your sticks.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I'm Manny James Gonzalez, buying land for the free and home for the brave.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: And then we're gonna get right into our mock draft.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: But there's a few things you probably caught in the news this week.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Buffalo Bills running back James Cook signed a four-year$48 million extension.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: The deal includes$30 million guaranteed.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Manny was quick to send that out to our group techs for the leagues.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: And um a lot of back and forth about that.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: That uh some people loved it, some people didn't change their mind at all.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: His stock did go up a tiny bit in my book.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: So he went from the fourth round uh projection for me to a third round because I was only I he only dropped in those rankings because of the whole uncertainty.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: But with him actually signing his deal, it's very good.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: Uh, I mean, I actually bumped him up a few places in my mock draft or my uh fancy rankings, but I could tell you that he still hasn't passed your boy Chase Brown.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: Uh, but he's actually like one level before there.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: So if you're gonna grab him, it's gonna be uh mid to late third round.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think a third round, even before that, was you know a good spot for him because it's you know, by that point, it's probably gonna be uh running back two or a flex play.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: But at the same time, they must believe in him to give him that kind of contract.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: 30 million guaranteed.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: That's something you do have to think about money.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: Money speaks volumes.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Clearly, they see stuff that we don't, and they feel like he's worth that.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: So I like it.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: I think it's good news.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, he might not have the touchdown count that he got last year, but I assume he's gonna have another good season.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: And just a couple things uh with injuries that you are probably aware of, but just want to point out Jordan Love had a thumb injury, it was on his left hand.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: I believe he's right-handed, so it's not a big deal.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Um, but he had surgery today and apparently it went well.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: He'll be returned to practice soon.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: And was it from him sitting on his thumb?
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: It might have been my my answer is perfectly fine.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: It's my thumb that's fucked up.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: I heard that is how he tweaked it, but I wasn't sure if those were just malicious rumors.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Sorry, guys.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: You guys are trolling Eagles, you know, we got to give you a little bit of shit back, you know.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: I think that is what happened.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but Titans running back Ty J Spears uh got a high ankle sprain in the preseason game.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: He's expected to miss a few weeks.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: And unfortunately, running back for the Miami Dolphins, Alexander Madison, backup running back, but still was probably gonna be heavily involved, is out for the season with a neck injury.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: So, you know, A-chan obviously was really high up anyway, and Alexander Madison is just gonna be gonna be a compliment to him, but that kind of pushes the idea of a committee to decide, at least for the short term.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Hey, no, uh Jalen Wright, he's a third stream running back.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Uh, he was a rookie last year.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: He was like one of those really fast, elusive, elusive guys like Devin H Chan.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: So uh, I mean, if you're gonna if you're gonna get A-chan, definitely handcuff him with Jalen Wright.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: You know, I feel bad for Mashon because he's a great journeyman player, just kind of working his way up.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: But uh for that backfield situation, Miami.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Now, I I would say he could end up being a decent flex play, you know, uh, especially if Hen does miss some time because he is a little bit undersized in the league.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: You know, if he takes a bad hit, he could be out a few weeks, you know.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: That's a very solid point.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, we've seen him injured before, and he is a smaller size running back.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: And also, I was really high on Jalen Wright last year.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: I held him on a couple of my teams like the whole season, and I did a player profile on him.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: I really thought that uh he was gonna see a little bit more than he did, a little bit more activity on the field than he did last year.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: So expect him to definitely see more activity this year.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's right.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: Any other injuries or that that's it so far?
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: You know, all the other ones are minor, just got to keep your eye on it.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: I hear that, man.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: Well, without further ado, we're gonna go ahead and get started.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: Hey, ballers, welcome back.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Uh, we're gonna go ahead and get these uh fantasy drafts set up now and started.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Um, one of the things that you know me and Joe want to talk about would be fantasy strategy.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: So keep in mind, guys, all the all the leagues we do are 12-man leagues, so they're very competitive.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Uh, I know there's people out there that probably do more, uh, but I think 12 is a perfect combination, especially if you know you want to bring you know win that grand prize.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: Um so uh very nice pot, nice finish.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: But at the end of the day, also when it comes to the draft positions, that's what we're referring to when we mention like third round, fourth round.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Uh so obviously 15 rounds, you know, uh for a draft like this.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: So typically it's it's not gonna go as as quickly as we do it, but at least it's some good practice.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think 12 is the sweet spot.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: That's what all my leagues are.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: I like that.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: All right, perfect.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: So let's go ahead and get this ball rolling here.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: We have two minutes for picks.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Obviously, you know, it's a good time, Joe, to start talking about like your top five players.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: So if you were number one here, which player would you uh get here?
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: All right, so off the board, I don't disagree with that at all.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: The number one pick is Bijan Robinson.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: Uh not not where I had him, not where Manny had him, but I understand that he's the number one pick for a lot of people.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: And then at number two, Saquon Barkley.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: I love Barkley this year, really solid pick.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: Number three, we got Jamar Chase.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Obviously, he's gonna be a top three pick in pretty much every league that you have.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: I got lucky in our first mock draft and got him at number four, but at four this time, got him on Rao St.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: Brown, five, Jameer Gibbs, and six, Justin Jefferson.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Now I'm here at the seventh pick, and my options are at wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb, Puka Nakua, that running back, got Derrick Henry, Ashton Genty.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: You got McCaffrey up there too.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: I I am probably gonna take a running back because you know the receivers I would have picked would be Jamar Chase and really no one else over a running back.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: So if Jamar Chase is off the board, I'm going running back, and um I'm gonna go with Derrick Henry.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: I feel like he's a very solid pick.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: I had him in at number four for my rankings, and he's the fourth one off the board right now.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna pick Henry.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: All right, I like the Henry pick.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: Now, obviously, assessing that, it was a very solid runoff.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: That's pretty the top six picks are probably as as more often as you're gonna see in any of your leagues, right?
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: Those are the perennial top six guys.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: Um, so the only one that is missing here, which is not showing up.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: So obviously, you have all these different guys, CeeDee Lamb, Puka Nakua.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: The common factor I see is I have Nakua and Lamb, Nico Collins, Brian Thomas, and and those are the some really top quality wide receivers.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: Um, so I have a lot of really good first-round talents coming back to me since I'm in the A spot.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: So I'd rather get that top-ranked running back.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: So some people for some reason think Aston Jensy is gonna be high.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: I I actually have him as my number 11 running back now.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: So I'm taking CMC for the comeback uh player of the year.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: That you know, CMC could be seriously like one of the best picks in fantasy.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: If if people aren't getting him towards the beginning of the first round, they and they get him at the end, that could be a very lucky spot.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and right now they have uh running backs wide receivers, right?
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: So uh Josh Allen, all the quarterbacks are coming up soon, too.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: So for running backs, Devin Achan, Bucky Irvin, Jonathan Taylor, all great backs.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: Um, but then we have some superstar wide receivers.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: So here, obviously, Drake London, AJ Brown are your two best receivers.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: I actually am higher on Drake London this year.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: Uh obviously, so is everyone else.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: He's one pick sooner.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: Uh, but I think he is gonna have a really good bounce back uh or uh even better uh year this year with Michael Penix actually starting the the season.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: So that's my pick.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: Okay, I really, really like Drake London.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: And uh after your pick with her McCaffrey, you know, Nakua came off the board.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: I'm very high on Nakua.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: CeeDee Lamb came off the board.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Obviously, I love him too.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Then Malik Neighbors and Nico Collins.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: Like those four wide receivers are unbelievable.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: I would have really liked to have one of them come back to me, but since I didn't, I'm probably gonna have to go with another running back here.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: And Devon Achan's still there.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: I think he's a really solid pick.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: Excellent PPR back, especially based on you know what we were just discussing with Miami, where Madison is gonna be out for the whole season.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: Regardless of that, though, I like Devon Achan right here, so I'm going double running back for my first two picks.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: Josh Allen C Bucky AJ.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: Oh, sorry.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Shit.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: Sorry, guys, let's get back in here.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: All right, so I gotta make a decision here on wide receiver or possibly a stud quarterback.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: You know, Josh Allen's already gone, Lamar's already gone.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: After I picked HN, you got Josh Allen, Bucky Irving, AJ Brown, Jonathan Taylor, Lamar Jackson, Trey McBride, Tyreek Hill, JSN, T.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Higgins, my man Chase Brown, and Ladd McConkey, and then Kyron Williams.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: So I feel like it would be very smart for me to take a wide receiver here, but I also see Jaden Daniels and Jalen Hurts still on the board, and there's no way they'll come back to me.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: So I think I'm actually gonna grab Jaden Daniels right here.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Oh, we're still paused.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: That was my bad, fellas.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: My bad.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: Okay, resume.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: Here we go.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: All right, now I'm gonna grab Jaden Daniels.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: All right, like your reasoning, man.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: You're not gonna have those guys come back.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: So this would be the time for me to get my superstar quarterback, right?
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: Jalen Hurts.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: It would be uh let me just make sure here.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: So obviously, I'm I'm a little bit balanced.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: There's some good quality running backs.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: So the way I'm looking at this, I have some really good RB2s coming up here.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: These are gonna be your guys in the third or fourth rounds.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: So I'm I'm pretty bullish on them.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Guys like kind of you know, Chuba Hubbard, James Connor, Alvin Kamara.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: So I'm expecting them to be there on the run back.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: Um, and then obviously, like the wide receivers here are extremely talented, but you know, I gotta agree with Joe, right?
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: This is your last opportunity to get a stud quarterback, you better take it.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: Because out besides these top four quarterbacks, I would not grab a single quarterback until the sixth round.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: Um, that's how far the talent runoff is.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: So that's why I'm going with my boy Jalen Hurts.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: See, the running backs ran off here, you see?
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: Marion Hampton, Kamara, Brees Hall.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: So now James Cook is the last guy of those tier two running backs.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: Because for me, tier two guys are gonna be consistent starters, consistent, you know, 20 point, you know, 17, 20 points a game.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: Um, they're not gonna be superstars, but they're gonna definitely be your most consistent player.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: So obviously, him getting paid.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: We talked about it earlier.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: I'm grabbing him in the fourth round.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: Fourth round, you're lucky to get him there.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: Now I gotta pick a wide receiver.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: Uh you know, let's take a look at who came off the board in the second round.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: Brian Thomas, I love him.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: Drake London, you grabbed AJ Brown.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: Okay, so you think you still have some good ones left until the third round?
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: You got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven came off the board, including the guys I was looking at, like Mike Evans, Marvin Harrison Jr., Garrett Wilson, and Terry McLaurin.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: So let's see who we got left.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Devontae Adams.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: I do like Devontae Adams this year.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: Um but between Devontae Adams, DK Metcalf, and DJ Moore, I'm gonna probably have to pick, and I know I picked him our last draft, but I'm probably gonna have to pick DK Metcalf right here.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: I'm very high on him.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: He's the wide receiver one, and Rogers is a veteran, he knows what he's doing.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: You're gonna at least probably get a solid floor with DK, and you could get a lot more if Rodgers can still throw the ball downfield.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: We know DK can run downfield, so I'm gonna go with DK.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's gonna have some big games for sure.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: One guy that's going way too high, guys, and stay the hell away from him.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: Rasheed Rice going in the fourth to fifth round, he's gonna miss a few games, most likely.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna trust that.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: It's very likely he's gonna miss a few games, and I'm surprised he was, you know, obviously it's AI, but picked right after that.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: And then Laporta.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm high on Laporta compared to last season, but you know, I feel like last season he was kind of disappointing.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: He still finished pretty high overall, but let's see who's been taken off for for tight ends: Brock Bowers, Trey McBride, Sam Laporta, and George Kittle.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: They've all been taken.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: So if you look at tight end at this point, I'm probably gonna wait a few more rounds to make that decision because right now I feel like you're aside from TJ Hawkinson, you're kind of in the void.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: And TJ Hawkinson's come back from an injury.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: I'm not really as high on him as maybe some other people.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna I'm gonna probably find another wide receiver here just to balance out my team with two running backs, two wide receivers.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: Now, who I choose, that's the tough question.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: I am not as high on Xavier Worthy as many other people.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: It has nothing to do with the Rice suspension, but Rice is coming back and will be the right wide receiver one when he returns.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: But I'm just not as high on Xavier Worthy because I feel like a lot of his scoring was very inconsistent last year.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: He had a a lot of duds amid those peaks.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: Cortland Sutton did just get paid, and he is the wide receiver one without a doubt in Denver.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: And I really like Bo Nicks.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: I'm very high on Bo Nicks, so I feel like the safe play here is Cortland Sutton, who had the second most air yards behind Calvin Ridley.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: He's definitely uh gonna give you a solid floor.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: I like Cortland Sutton.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: He's gonna have a good season.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: So for me right now, I'm looking at availability, right?
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: I already have a quarterback, so Patrick Mahomes is not the best guy there.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: So I'm going based upon my rankings.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: So obviously, some of these are a little bit different than mine, right?
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: Because it's not what I typically use.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: But from what I could tell here, I have two running backs.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: This is the fifth round.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: This is another round to get a rookie running back, right?
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: Because they're gonna fly this round, fifth and six.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: You're gonna get your choice for rookies.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: So uh one of the guys I love, let's go ahead and take RJ Harvey for Deborah Broncos.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: He's gonna probably get a pretty good workload.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: Now we see Kelsey and Hogginson are gone.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Uh Pickens are gone, right?
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: So at this point, I'm seeing the options, and I know exactly.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: So obviously, I have one, two, three running backs, two wide receivers, and a stud quarterback.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: And right now, tight ends, these guys are gonna give you 10 to 12 points a game consistently.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: And and to me, to get a tight end this early when there's still players that can still give you you know 20 points and a different position, 15 and 20, I think doesn't make sense because uh the tight end drop scoring is so far off, so I'm not a supporter of tight ends until like the 10th round, right?
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: Unless it's a really good drop for Trey McBride or something.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: Uh, but in this case, I'm just gonna go running back again because uh I know in the next few rounds it's gonna be a pretty big runoff on running backs, and uh yeah.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: So let me see.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: I have one.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: Actually, no, I need a wide receiver.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't know.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: I mean it's bold, but you do have three already.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Uh that's a good that's a good pick, man.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: I love Calvin Ridley.
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: I had to build that that team balance, guys.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: I could have went four running backs, but if you have one good wide receiver, you don't give yourself a lot of uh trade assets in the future.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I think it is important to have balance, and you know, through the first uh six rounds, you have or let's say for the for the first six rounds, based on what I do here, you have three running backs, two wide receivers, quarterback.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: That's a nice balanced team.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: I have two running backs, two wide receivers, and one quarterback.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: And I don't know what I'm gonna do this pick, but you want that balance.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: The first six picks are probably the the ones that you gotta use to balance your team after the sixth round, going in seven to eight, nine.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: That's when you can start just uh stacking your team at the positions you like or with the players you like.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, or in my my opinion, like you don't waste a top nine pick on, like I said, no tight end until the 10th, because you can still get yourself a solid guy, like uh, you know, Dallas Goddard, Zach Ertz, you know, in the 10th round.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: So why get you know what's a point difference between him and you know for somebody like Hawkinson?
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: You know, they have good games and bad games, right?
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: So it's not you know, it's you're looking at 12 points versus 15.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: That's not a big enough point drop for me to warrant that that extreme measure.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: Sorry, go ahead, Joe.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: All right, completely agree.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: I'm not looking at tight ends right now, they're off my radar for a couple more rounds.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, there's a chance I could grab one in the seventh, but I'm probably gonna wait till the eighth, ninth, or maybe even tenth.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: And there are still some guys I like on the as the tight ends.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: You know, you got Evan Ingram, David Njoku.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: I'm actually really high on both of those guys, but I could wait and take Tucker Kraft and be just as happy, you know.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: Um fifth and sixth, pause me, pause me.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: Sorry, I'm talking too much.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Wow, Joe, you didn't make your pick?
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: I didn't.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: I was talking too much.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Um I have what I have one second left.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: I am going to pick Aaron Jones.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: Is there any way I can get him to the top of my queue?
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: Let me see.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Because it's gonna auto-pick me someone else.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, if you don't I don't if you don't set up um James Yeah.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: Q.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: How do I drag them into the queue?
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: That is a good question.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: Um you click on their name.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: Oh, there's a blue store.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: No, the blue check mark.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: There.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: Then um all right, so you picked them?
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Okay, cool.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: So one second, resume draft.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: All right, I got him.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: Aaron Jones in the sixth.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: I like that good value, man.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: Aaron Jones is gonna be a solid guy.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: He's not gonna win your league, but he's definitely gonna give you a solid RB2 slash three.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, Caleb Johnson, man.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: That's what I was saying.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: Rookies, you got to get them in the fifth or sixth because they're all gone.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: I like to see them go this late is crazy.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: I think Caleb Johnson's a great pick, especially in the seventh round.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: I actually really like Baker in the sixth, too.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: If you see the runoff after me, you got Hunter, then Baker, Mark Andrews.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: I think that's way too early.
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: Take Mark Andrews personally.
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: Jalen Waddell, he's questionable every year.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: Uh DeAndre Swift, not bad.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: Uh Isaiah Pacheco, way too early for Pacheco.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: Bo Nicks, I would have probably waited, um, but whatever.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: And then Trevion Henderson.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: I actually really like that pick.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: Trevion Henderson's another one.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: He's a rookie that's could be a superstar.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Jerry Judy, uh, not a bad pick, but um, I probably would have passed him up.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: And then Tony Pollard, he's gonna be at least um probably a reliable player.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: You know, he should score more touchdowns this year, and then after that, you got Judkins, rookie, Caleb Johnson, rookie I really like, and Jordan Addison, who's also a good pick.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: Jordan Addison in the seventh round, I'm fine with that.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: But for me, I'm looking at wide receivers because now I've got three running backs.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: I want to get three wide receivers just to create a little bit more balance on my team.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: I told you I'm not gonna be grabbing a tight end just yet, probably in the next round.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: Um, in the eighth round, I think is reasonable for a tight end.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: So who do I pick at wide receiver?
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: I do like Roma Dunze because I think he's gonna break out this year.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: DJ Moore, I expect to have a really good year too.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: Uh but then I also like Cooper Cup.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: You know, he's he's been injured, but at the same time, um, he didn't really get a chance last year to come back and show everyone what he's capable of.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: And I feel like he could do that in Seattle this year.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: With all the changes at wide receiver in Seattle, he could end up being the number one.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: I doubt it.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: I think it's gonna be JSN.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying it's possible.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: One thing I do one guy I really do like that you picked in the last mock draft was Stephon Diggs.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: That guy, when he comes back, is gonna be the wide receiver one in New England.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty confident about that.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: But yeah, that's what I was saying.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: I've uh I've been high on him, but Joe, I'm trying to make it's did you already make your pick?
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: Did you make Jordan Addison?
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: I'm paused because it says Jordan Addison.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: Do you are you seeing that on your screen?
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: Oh, son of a bitch.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this whole time.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: Uh, it looks like you're on auto draft.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: I'm not on auto.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: It says it says son of a bitch.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: It must have cued that when I added when I added uh Aaron Jones to the queue, it must have it must have given me Jordan Addison.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: You know, ladies, ladies and gentlemen, and that's what happens when you get distracted during your draft.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: You make mistakes, and these mistakes can fuck your whole team up.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: It depends on it depends on your manager.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: Some people might say, hey, let's roll it back.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: But if you're in a league where you don't know everybody, they're not just gonna roll it back.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: But here's the thing I did say I'm all right with that.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: I said I'm all right with that as far as Jordan Has in the seventh, and I actually am all right with that.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: I think he's a good pick.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: I just didn't realize I picked him, I thought it was the team in front of me.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: But I actually don't roll it back.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: That is a good example.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: You get distracted.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: If you add so so apparently, with with sleeper, if you add someone to the queue, it like I did with uh auto picks it in one second, yeah.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: Like I did with Aaron Jones, I added him to the queue.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: That will set you on auto draft.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: So just a heads up because I didn't know that.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: But I'm actually okay with Jordan Addison in the seventh, so keep it.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: Don't roll it back, Manny.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: Oh, don't worry, I wasn't.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: All right, so for my pick, I'm looking at every all the talent that's available here.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: Obviously, um, you know, I I got three running backs, two wide receivers, and the best talent available, like he was saying, is on wide receiver.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: So uh for me personally, yeah, the running backs that are here uh uh are worth later grades for me.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna go with the highest rated receiver.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: So Roma Dunze is decent, but the only wide receiver that I think is worth anything to be a starter here is of course Stefan Diggs.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: You know, because he has a uh is like we were saying, right?
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: He's gonna be number one in New England.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: I really like that.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: And obviously, Jacoby Myers, Roma Dunze, Tony Tracy, Sobrian Robinson.
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: All the top uh running backs I was looking at are gone.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: But one guy I do like, he could still possibly be a starter this late, uh Travis Etienne.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: You know, that's somebody that's uh uh being underrated this year, and I think altogether he's gonna have a nice solid year.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: Maybe not two years ago, but if he gives you better than last year, I think it's it's beneficial.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: You end up with him on your team every year, and you know, I like I like Jacoby Myers in the seventh round, too.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like he's this he's the starter, he's the wide receiver one.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: So I feel like you know, even though the Raiders are obviously a horrible team, he's not a bad pick.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: Well, Brock Bowers is wide receiver one.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: Okay, true, true.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: But he went in what the second round at the top of the yeah, yeah, that's early, but people are gonna do that straight around.
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: Now he is, yeah.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: He is if you don't get him in the second, you're probably not gonna get him.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: So now I have to make the question do I actually go with the tight end here, or do I continue to fill my squad with wide receivers and running backs?
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I think I might pull the trigger on a tight end just because I really do like Evan Ingram and Njoku.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: And I think I'm gonna go with Njoku here because I'm a little higher on him.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: He had some really amazing games.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: The guy would be an unbelievable talent if he was on any other team or most other teams.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: There's a few that just they don't let him shine.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: Cleveland, he made it happen last year.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: Flacco's a quarterback, he can do it again.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: Shadur Sanders is pretty good too, man.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: Shout out to that young bull.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: I know it's preseason, but he has all the intangibles, man.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: He's gonna be a good quarterback.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: He has that Jalen Hurts energy to me.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I agree.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: And and people are have been saying really good things about him.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: So, oh, so you're back on the board, Joe.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: What's up?
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: I'm back.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: I'm back, and you know what, man?
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna I'm gonna grab Ricky Pearsall because with the issues, the wide receiver issues in San Francisco, Iuk's out for you know at least half the season.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: Right now, I'm not sure what's going on with Juwan Jennings, but he's a little banged up with a calf strain, and that can turn into something worse.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: Um, obviously, I want Juwan to stay on the field regardless because I think Ricky will play better, but I'm gonna go with Ricky Pearsall right here.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I like him.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: Good pick, good pick.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: All right, so right now, guys, there's from a tier that I have, I'm getting I have these guys like a greater round uh um eighth or ninth round, Jaden Reed, Emeka Buka.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: Um, if you're looking at running backs here, there's pretty slim pickings, but I made an investment here.
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: So do I want to fortify my team for the long haul, or do I want to just get plug-in starters everywhere?
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: So if I'm gonna pretty much get in for the long haul, I did grab RJ Harvey.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: There's a good chance that um JK Dobbins gets some of that uh that role here.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: So that would be typically a way that I go, but in this case, because I need wide receiver talent, I think I only have three.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Uh, I'm definitely gonna go with Jaden Reed.
- 30:43SPEAKER_01: He's a nice uh flex play week in, week out.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: Well, matchup base, anyways.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: All right, so now for me, the run back is this.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: Those running backs I was looking at got taken.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: J.K.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: Dobbins is gone.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: Um Ramondre's on there.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: Oh, he's here late.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: Um Bigsby.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: Yes, honestly, the wide receiver, there's still some talent there.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: Obviously, this is round number 10, true to my word.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna get me a my number eight ranked tight end this year.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's good, man.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: Well, dude, in the 10th round, that's great.
- 31:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and if it wasn't him, it'd be Jay Ferguson, Dallas Goddard, Zach Gertz, and I'm getting 12 points a game.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: And if if you're just listening on Spotify or Apple, he he chose Tucker Kraft in the 10th round.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: That's a solid pick for the 10th round.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: Now, I took a risk when I grabbed Pearsall, and that was will Jordan Mason still be hanging around in the 10th round?
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: Because if anything happens to Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason's gonna step up in a big way.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: I've got Aaron Jones on my team.
- 31:59SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna grab Jordan Mason here.
- 32:01SPEAKER_01: Good pick.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: See, the way we draft, ladies and gentlemen, we don't just need all the starters.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: What the we're trying to play for what the fuck is that?
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: What was that?
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: There's something on sleeper.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: Yo, that was funny.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: I thought that was you.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: I was like, what the fuck?
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: I don't know what the hell that was, but someone was cheering for that pick, man.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: It was a good one.
- 32:26SPEAKER_01: Bro, it's good.
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: Get those handcuffs, ladies and gentlemen.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: Play that, take a good backfield.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: If you're like, hey, I don't know if it's gonna be this guy or this guy, they'll both get a roll.
- 32:36SPEAKER_01: Take him because when one of them is out, guaranteed RB1 slash two for that week, you know.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: And in the later rounds, if you see a good handcuff lying around, like if you see Jordan Mason, like I thought I thought Manny might snipe him just so I couldn't have him.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: If you see someone out there that's a solid handcuff, but you know, you don't have the RB1, who cares?
- 32:55SPEAKER_00: Take them because if anything happens, like for example, with Achan, if anything happens to A-Chan, you know, right is going up big time, he's gonna be a solid producer.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: Gurendo's another one, you know.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: You gotta look at that stuff and act accordingly.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: Now, I'm just gonna glance at the quarterbacks that are left.
- 33:16SPEAKER_00: Now, I usually don't take two quarterbacks this early, but there's a couple that I really like, including Justin Fields.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: And and I think there's a good chance that he could hang around a little bit longer because Jordan Love is still on the board.
- 33:34SPEAKER_00: Many might snipe him, but I doubt he's gonna take a quarterback this early too.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: So, I mean a second quarterback this early too.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: So I'm going to wait and see if uh Justin Fields stays on the board.
- 33:47SPEAKER_00: But for now, I'm probably gonna grab another running back or wide receiver.
- 33:53SPEAKER_01: Listen, ladies and gentlemen, this is where I have to cut right in and tell you do not draft a quarterback, two quarterbacks on your team early for trade bait.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: It's the worst thing you can do.
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: You're gonna end up wasting your time.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: Did you really mean to get Corendo?
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: I did, yes.
- 34:12SPEAKER_01: I did weird.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: No, no, no.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: So you're sniping my so you're sniping my handcuff.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay, okay, motherfucker.
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I'm gonna go ahead and get the other guy.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: I meant to do that because if CMC goes down, who's getting the ball?
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: Hold on, it's my turn to talk.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: All right, I grabbed my handcuff, tank Bisby.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he so now he's he's can't handcuff with Travis Etienne, so I'm good there.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: And obviously, the runoff coming back, it's pretty much I have one, two, three, four roster spots, which means one kicker, one defense, and the next two have to be flex home runs, right?
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: So if you're looking at everything over here, uh how much time?
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: One minute and a half.
- 34:59SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: That's you can pause it if you need to talk, you know.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: No, I can break this down a minute and a half.
- 35:03SPEAKER_01: So uh right now I'm gonna look at skill positions.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: So obviously, there's some good uh flex guys.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: So Nick Chubb, Rashad White, excellent backs, right?
- 35:14SPEAKER_01: Uh, they're gonna get you like 10, 12 points a game.
- 35:17SPEAKER_01: Uh, also great handcuffs.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: You know, if you go to wide receivers, Rashisha Heed, I'm not on any Saints players this year, except for uh Alvin Kamara.
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: Trey Harris, I like him.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: Christian Kirk, I like him as well.
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: Um, Jack back Las Vegas, he could be a sleeper here this year.
- 35:36SPEAKER_01: And obviously, Keenan Allen, Hollywood Brown.
- 35:38SPEAKER_01: So these guys are like fighting for roster or fighting for touches on their team, right?
- 35:43SPEAKER_01: So none of these are gonna be guys that I say, hey, you know what?
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: They send out to me, you get a workload.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: But when you go to the running backs, you can see that because with Joe Mixon out for her first few games, Nick Chubb is gonna be taking that workload.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: Good solid pick right there.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: Now, I do love Christian Kirk, and I believe that he's gonna get a lot of action regardless, you know, because you've got Tank Dell out for the whole season, and so Christian Kirk's operating the wide receiver too, and I I'm high on CJ Stroud this year.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: I think he's gonna be solid, but then a sleeper that I really like at tight end is Zach Ertz.
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: But I already got a tight end with Njoku.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: Now, Njoku does get a little banged up every year, but Zach Ertz, I have a feeling, could get a lot of action this year, and I think that the situation with Terry McLaurin is gonna be totally fine and he's gonna get on the field soon.
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: But let's just say he doesn't.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: Zach Ertz is a very solid pick at wide receiver late.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: But I'm not going quarterback.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: I was trying to trick you with Justin Fields.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: I do like Justin Fields, that's that's true, but it's too early to take a second quarterback.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna go with Christian Kirk because I'm really high on him again.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: I like him every year, but I like him especially this year.
- 36:59SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 37:00SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, he's he's solid, definitely solid flex guy.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: Okay, so now they're having a runoff here.
- 37:11SPEAKER_01: Rookies, that's all the ones falling off.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: Hey, you know what?
- 37:15SPEAKER_00: Justin Fields is still there in the 13th round.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: That's a steal.
- 37:22SPEAKER_01: Agreed.
- 37:22SPEAKER_01: Okay, for me, I'm obviously trying to solidify a position that I may need help with.
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: I mean, at this point, obviously, like having a quarterback thing is not a bad idea, but I don't really think I need to pick up any of these guys with Jalen Hurts.
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: Um, but there's uh some talent left on the running backboard that people didn't touch.
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: That's the thing.
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: If you see what's here, I'm not gonna just grab a bunch of wide receivers because I need them on my team.
- 37:49SPEAKER_01: Look, I have one, two, three, four wide receivers.
- 37:53SPEAKER_01: Everything inside of me would be like, hey, grab take a shot on one of these guys, but I'd rather let it play out a week or two before I take a shot on a wide receiver, like especially a rookie.
- 38:04SPEAKER_01: So, what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go for a position that people want.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: And if I grab Rashad White, you know, there's people that need a good running back that are gonna be willing to uh deal with me here because you can never have too many.
- 38:17SPEAKER_00: That's a really solid pick in the 13th round.
- 38:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so and then guess what?
- 38:22SPEAKER_01: I still get to pick.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: Uh, obviously, it's gonna be I would kick pick kicker 14th round and then defense 15th, because you're not ever really sure on defenses.
- 38:33SPEAKER_00: That can be a week-to-week play, you know.
- 38:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but the guy I'm looking for here, let's see, Justin Tucker suspended.
- 38:41SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna draft Justin Tucker just for the hell of it.
- 38:45SPEAKER_01: All right, so obviously I'm from Philly, so what's up?
- 38:48SPEAKER_01: We gotta go with Jake Elliott.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 38:52SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna get uh let me see.
- 38:56SPEAKER_00: You know, Jake Moody's pretty solid.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: San Francisco's gonna score a lot.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: I'll go with Jake Moody.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: Actually, no, I'm going with Evan McPherson for Cincy.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: They're gonna score.
- 39:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: They're gonna need to score a lot of points to win games.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: And rounding it out, man, we saw how good the Chiefs were last year.
- 39:23SPEAKER_00: We saw how good Tampa Bay was last year.
- 39:25SPEAKER_00: Those are some solid defenses, but um, I'm gonna go with the Chiefs just based on what we saw from them last year.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: All right, and for me, looking at what's left here, man.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with what whoever looked dominant.
- 39:40SPEAKER_01: So um obviously Seahawks didn't look dominant, Green Bay is not dominant, Tampa Bay is pretty solid.
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 39:47SPEAKER_01: They've been probably the most consistent defense over the last few years, so I'll I'll take them.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: They have been very solid last few years.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: Okay, so now we have the full draft breakdown.
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: So let me see if we can show this here.
- 40:02SPEAKER_01: So obviously, um analyzing this, let me see if there's an easier way to do so.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Ah, fuck it.
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: We'll just start off right here.
- 40:11SPEAKER_01: All right, Joe.
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: So obviously, from what we're seeing here for your final tally for your team, you ended up one, two, three, four, five wide receivers.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: So that's a nice balance.
- 40:23SPEAKER_01: One, two, three, four, five running backs.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: You must have a minimum of five running backs on your team, ladies and gentlemen, to have a successful fantasy season because they are gonna be your most solid workhorses.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: If you can get like two solid running backs and then two running backs that you know are at least gonna get you playing time in bye weeks or if someone goes down, that's that's a comfortable feeling.
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: Like to have two solid studs, like I went with the hero running back approach.
- 40:55SPEAKER_00: You know, my first two picks were Derrick Henry and Devon Achan.
- 40:58SPEAKER_00: That's a rock solid running back core.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: But then when you look at who else I have, Aaron Jones, he's solid.
- 41:04SPEAKER_00: I got his backup with Jordan Mason just in case.
- 41:08SPEAKER_00: And then, of course, I got uh Isaac Arendo in case anything happens to CMC.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: But at the same time, I feel like Jordan Mason's still gonna be involved, you know.
- 41:17SPEAKER_00: So let's say anything happens to Devon H and he goes down.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: You know, there's a chance that I could just take Aaron Jones, move him up to my RB2, and then who do I have for flex?
- 41:28SPEAKER_00: Ricky Pearsall, Christian Kirk.
- 41:30SPEAKER_00: That's not a bad place to be either.
- 41:32SPEAKER_00: So you got to have options to make adjustments at your flex spot, most importantly.
- 41:38SPEAKER_00: You want someone to fill in if one of your stud goes down, and you want to have flexibility at the flex.
- 41:43SPEAKER_00: That's why we're so heavy on running backs and wide receivers.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: Just get them stacked up and do it early.
- 41:49SPEAKER_00: You know, you can wait on you can wait on quarterback a long time if you want to, but you can definitely wait on tight end.
- 41:55SPEAKER_00: Don't touch a defense or a kicker until your last two rounds.
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, that's that's our advice, you know, from what I'm seeing here.
- 42:06SPEAKER_01: Obviously, you know, this is pretty similar to what I'm seeing on ESPN drafting, right?
- 42:11SPEAKER_01: Whatever draft, uh whatever type of format your league's on, always pay attention to the trends because you're gonna have players that might be plus or minus a couple rounds, depending on the actual draft uh source.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: And one thing you'll see certain players that are good or talented or maybe sleeper a lot farther down in their rankings, so they're a little bit harder to find.
- 42:33SPEAKER_01: So always important to set your draft uh uh your draft uh priority on your league because that way when it comes time to actually draft your players, they're just gonna be almost in a uh numeric data sheet for you to just uh scroll down and see what what division you should grab them in or what tier.
- 42:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, go in with the strategy and go in with a backup plan.
- 43:00SPEAKER_00: You know, if you if you've done a bunch of mock drafts and these guys, the same guy keeps falling to you, keeps falling to you, chances are that's not gonna happen in a real draft when you're playing with 12 real people.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: So always have a strategy and always have a backup plan.
- 43:13SPEAKER_00: If you get sniped for all your picks, you want to be ready to pick somebody else without thinking too much about it.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 43:21SPEAKER_01: And then uh if you're looking at everything here, I mean looking at it, everybody, they're like we were talking about tight ends, uh, obviously being uh a difference.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: My biggest my biggest thing is when you're looking at player uh players on the board, you don't need to necessarily look at what positions you need, you need to look at what output you're getting from those specific players.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: Because if you have three players from the same position that are consistently getting you 20 to 25 points a game, chances are you could flip the one of those players to get you an upgrade at another position.
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: So uh absolutely so always make it based upon best player available versus position of need because you're always gonna reach and and make uh mistakes when you do it that way, and that's why we're saying the first six rounds are so important.
- 44:13SPEAKER_00: I mean, obviously, those are your most important, but in addition to a well-rounded team, yeah, just what Manny was saying, you need to have the best available player.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: That's why the first mock draft we did.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: I wasn't planning on going wide receiver, but when you see Jamar Chase, you take him.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: You want the highest output.
- 44:32SPEAKER_00: So if you just happen to get three wide receivers, your first three rounds, and they're all studs, okay, take them.
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: You can fill out your running back, you can figure it out, you can make a trade, but you do take the best, the best available player.
- 44:46SPEAKER_00: For me, I do prioritize running backs, but if a better wide receiver falls to me that I know is gonna get me 25 or 30 opposed to 20 or 25, I'm going with the wide receiver.
- 44:58SPEAKER_01: Well, just for the record, I would never do three receivers in the first three rounds.
- 45:03SPEAKER_01: I would do two at least, two out of three.
- 45:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, two maybe.
- 45:08SPEAKER_00: I I doubt that's even gonna happen, but I'm saying if it does, let's say you know you get some guys that are are really just hanging around for too long, you're like, Well, I'll take them, but that then you're gonna be left with scraps at running back.
- 45:21SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, maybe two.
- 45:23SPEAKER_00: First two can be wide receiver.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but any um, regardless, I hope you guys learned a little something.
- 45:31SPEAKER_01: You know, if you need any pointers, have any questions, reach out to us.
- 45:34SPEAKER_01: Uh, we appreciate the love, the support.
- 45:37SPEAKER_01: Um, anything else you have for these guys here, Joe?
- 45:40SPEAKER_00: No, just keep tuning in.
- 45:42SPEAKER_00: Like, share, subscribe, all that good stuff.
- 45:45SPEAKER_00: We appreciate it.
- 45:46SPEAKER_01: Yes, sir.
- 45:46SPEAKER_01: And another step closer again to that goal.
- 45:49SPEAKER_01: So uh again, you folks say you see you next time.
- 45:52SPEAKER_01: Uh next week, same time, same place.
- 45:54SPEAKER_01: You folks have a good rest of your night, all right.
