- 0:21Speaker 1: All right, you're listening to Eagles postgame analysis here at
- 0:23Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show, the longest running weekly
- 0:26Speaker 1: Philly sports podcast show in the world, eleven years strong,
- 0:30Speaker 1: and the first game of the Philadelphia Eagles twenty twenty
- 0:33Speaker 1: four twenty twenty five season is now in the books.
- 0:36Speaker 1: They beat the Green Bay Packers down in Brazil by
- 0:39Speaker 1: a score of thirty four to twenty nine. Holy cow,
- 0:43Speaker 1: they won this game. Win all three of us here, Yes,
- 0:46Speaker 1: I said all three of us. We got Eric Leonard
- 0:48Speaker 1: and Lenhunsicker with us here, all three of us on
- 0:52Speaker 1: our Eagles season preview show said the Eagles, We're gonna
- 0:55Speaker 1: lose this game. They end up winning it. Unbelievable. Uh,
- 0:58Speaker 1: it's good to have you got guys again again. I
- 1:01Speaker 1: can't believe all three of us are on the doing
- 1:04Speaker 1: the postgame show here first time, last time.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:08Speaker 3: If the NFL is going to continue having four hour games, yeah,
- 1:11Speaker 3: it would be the last.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yes, doing this at midnight.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Walk out five hours of my day, four for a
- 1:19Speaker 4: game and one for a post game.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, yeah, exactly. All right, Well, let's get into
- 1:25Speaker 1: our themes of this game first. And for Eric, you
- 1:28Speaker 1: just said it. The refs completely made this game about them.
- 1:33Speaker 1: They made this game so long, which was unfortunate. So
- 1:36Speaker 1: many penalties. At the end of the day, seventeen penalties
- 1:41Speaker 1: called in this game was absolutely uncalled for real, ticky
- 1:44Speaker 1: tat crap penalties being called that actually weren't penalties at all.
- 1:48Speaker 1: It's just it was the ref show during week one.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Eric, well that that and I think I text you
- 1:55Speaker 3: guys like if there were probably like seventeen to eighteen
- 1:58Speaker 3: more decline penalties.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Yeah, so it was like thirty five total.
- 2:02Speaker 2: It was.
- 2:02Speaker 5: It was unbelievable. Listen, I know I bashed the NFL
- 2:06Speaker 5: in here, but this was just ridiculous.
- 2:09Speaker 3: The feel was horrible. Why are they there? Goodell's there smiling. Hey,
- 2:14Speaker 3: this is great, right.
- 2:15Speaker 2: About new Market.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Yeah, we're making money. We're making money, folks.
- 2:21Speaker 2: We're expanding the brand.
- 2:23Speaker 3: I'm sure we're gonna make real inroads into Brazil, where
- 2:26Speaker 3: actual football is one hundred percent of approval rating.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Like there's it's just not going to happen. I'm glad.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I'm glad we wanted in our defense by the way,
- 2:35Speaker 3: you said, we were all wrong at the top of
- 2:36Speaker 3: the show. We didn't see our team play so we
- 2:40Speaker 3: were just kind of going off, what the hell we had?
- 2:42Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:42Speaker 5: Right, and uh the first quarter we were right.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:46Speaker 3: The Eagles came out, looked the offense like horrible. They
- 2:49Speaker 3: hadn't played together all year long. I'm not sure if
- 2:52Speaker 3: Cam Jurgens has ever met Jalen Hurts, well until today.
- 2:55Speaker 1: That was my notes. It was my notes here. Cam
- 2:57Speaker 1: Jurgens is no Jason Kelsey, Folks. Snap issues throughout the game.
- 3:02Speaker 1: One leads to a turnover, my god, just not good
- 3:06Speaker 1: but slop.
- 3:07Speaker 3: But that last, the last one that Hurts just miss
- 3:10Speaker 3: mishandled like that was actually a good snap.
- 3:13Speaker 5: You can you can just tell they haven't played.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Together much and which is It's understandable, but I don't
- 3:19Speaker 3: know just the entire situation down there with the field
- 3:22Speaker 3: Green Bays was staying two hours from the from the
- 3:25Speaker 3: actual stadium, Yeah, out of fear for like Gang Wars
- 3:29Speaker 3: and like it just just don't.
- 3:32Speaker 5: Do this again, please, It was really dumb.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yes, Well, the Eagles did win their first home game here, Lenn,
- 3:37Speaker 1: so I guess I guess that's good.
- 3:41Speaker 4: That's a question I have so like for these teams
- 3:44Speaker 4: that like go to whether it's Brazil or Germany or
- 3:46Speaker 4: England or wherever. Did those home teams that are the
- 3:50Speaker 4: home team that are missing out on the gate, on
- 3:53Speaker 4: concessions on parking, is there some kind of compensation for that?
- 3:58Speaker 1: I don't know. That's great question. I have no idea.
- 4:01Speaker 4: I because if I was owning the team, I would
- 4:05Speaker 4: damn sure want to know, Like I would want to
- 4:08Speaker 4: be paid handsomely for that.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Well, how about okay, so if you're the owner of
- 4:11Speaker 3: the team, you probably get a nice chunk of change.
- 4:14Speaker 3: How about the actual people that work those games?
- 4:16Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 4:16Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely probably not, that's.
- 4:19Speaker 2: No, absolutely not.
- 4:20Speaker 5: You're talking about communism, lend Well, I know.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I known. Do you have any other do you have
- 4:29Speaker 1: what takeaway do you want to get into with regard
- 4:32Speaker 1: to this game? I mean, I've got a bunch here
- 4:34Speaker 1: in my notes, frankly, but like, what are your thoughts?
- 4:38Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think Hurts looked great at all.
- 4:42Speaker 4: I mean, and this goes back to what Eric was saying.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, he did not act that.
- 4:45Speaker 4: We haven't seen you know, him or any starters in
- 4:48Speaker 4: the preseason, you know whatsoever. And that's got a change
- 4:52Speaker 4: because I mean he had two interceptions. He probably could
- 4:55Speaker 4: have had like four or five. I meanly, I think, yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I thought he was sloppy as all get out. Wasn't
- 5:05Speaker 2: at all.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Absolutely, And I don't I don't think it was just
- 5:07Speaker 1: the passing. I mean the passing at times. I mean
- 5:10Speaker 1: it's like it was just inconsistent, like you said, but
- 5:14Speaker 1: Jalen Hurt's decision making on the read option was horrendous
- 5:19Speaker 1: throughout this game. And Guys, he's now been in the
- 5:22Speaker 1: league for a number of years at this point, he
- 5:25Speaker 1: is a veteran. He has done the read option now continuously,
- 5:29Speaker 1: year after year after year, and we are seeing complete
- 5:32Speaker 1: garbage from him when deciphering and trying to figure out
- 5:36Speaker 1: what to do with the read option. And I'm actually
- 5:39Speaker 1: really concerned about this aspect of his game and the
- 5:42Speaker 1: Eagles offense. Len, I mean, you brought up Hurts with
- 5:44Speaker 1: the passing, and yeah, inconsistency because he didn't play through
- 5:48Speaker 1: the preseason. You know, it would have been nice if
- 5:51Speaker 1: he got some snaps and a few reps here and there.
- 5:54Speaker 4: But I'm not really terrified that they're they're gonna get hurt.
- 5:58Speaker 4: They are they are, and that's that's what the problems
- 6:00Speaker 4: with these teams.
- 6:01Speaker 1: But here I'm concerned about the read option. He's been
- 6:03Speaker 1: doing this for how long and we are seeing mistake
- 6:06Speaker 1: after mistake after mistake. I don't know, Eric, are you
- 6:09Speaker 1: Are you worried too?
- 6:12Speaker 5: Yeah, but I will defend him a little bit.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Basically, it was his first game of the year and
- 6:17Speaker 3: he still went for two hundred seventy eight yards and
- 6:19Speaker 3: two touchdowns. And he had that I had this in
- 6:22Speaker 3: my notes. He ain't no pussy like. He had that
- 6:25Speaker 3: big time run for the first down in the fourth quarter,
- 6:27Speaker 3: really mattered and just put his head down and got
- 6:31Speaker 3: it and it kind of that kind of put the
- 6:32Speaker 3: game away a little bit before the pass to DeVante.
- 6:37Speaker 3: I will I will defend him in that regard.
- 6:39Speaker 5: I gotta say.
- 6:41Speaker 3: I've said it during the show the past couple of
- 6:43Speaker 3: weeks like this, this soft preseason bullshit.
- 6:46Speaker 5: You got to stop, Nick.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Your team looks unprepared in the first quarter, almost the
- 6:53Speaker 3: first half, and.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Really quick first quarter. They only had thirty five yards
- 6:57Speaker 1: of offense because of the inconsistency because of not playing
- 7:01Speaker 1: in the preseason like you're talking.
- 7:02Speaker 5: About, and it lasted for an hour.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yeah, first quarter.
- 7:06Speaker 5: It was horrible to watch.
- 7:08Speaker 3: And we'll talk about the defense then, but like the
- 7:10Speaker 3: tackles wore down really fast. Like I do not like
- 7:13Speaker 3: how he runs his preseasons. And if I think, I
- 7:16Speaker 3: text you guys like if he wants to lose it,
- 7:17Speaker 3: he must not care about losing his job, because like
- 7:21Speaker 3: he went into the season like this is probably my
- 7:23Speaker 3: last shot. If I don't make this work, and you
- 7:25Speaker 3: didn't play anybody at all in the preseason, we'll we'll
- 7:28Speaker 3: just kind of wing it, yeah one and go forwardly.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Maybe not do that next time.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah, Yet they still win. Yet they still put up
- 7:36Speaker 1: thirty four points because when a lot of explosive plays
- 7:40Speaker 1: happened because you have somebody now in the backfield like
- 7:43Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley who can catch touchdown passes, who's able to
- 7:47Speaker 1: just just man bully his way through a line to
- 7:52Speaker 1: get get to the goal line. Saquon Barkley was absolutely
- 7:56Speaker 1: amazing in this game. When you take a look at
- 7:59Speaker 1: what a top tier quarterback is going to I'm sorry,
- 8:02Speaker 1: running back is going to do for you twenty four carries.
- 8:06Speaker 1: We haven't seen an Eagles running back have twenty four
- 8:09Speaker 1: carries in a game in quite some time for one
- 8:11Speaker 1: hundred and nine yards. Four point five yards per carry,
- 8:14Speaker 1: two touchdowns, and he caught two balls for twenty three
- 8:18Speaker 1: yards and that touchdown. As we know, having a top
- 8:20Speaker 1: tier quarter geez, I keep saying that running back like
- 8:24Speaker 1: Sakwon Barkley, Man, it made all the difference in the
- 8:28Speaker 1: world in this game.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Len, Yeah, I thought running backs weren't important anymore. That's
- 8:32Speaker 4: what the NFL keeps telling right right, like a superstar running.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Back, but apparently they're pretty good.
- 8:38Speaker 4: Yeah, he was phenomenal, hands down, best player on the
- 8:42Speaker 4: field today.
- 8:43Speaker 2: I mean, yep, not even close.
- 8:45Speaker 3: And we're all Penn State guys, and I'll admit I
- 8:47Speaker 3: have not really watched him play since Penn State. Like
- 8:50Speaker 3: I saw him with the Giants against the Eagles, and
- 8:53Speaker 3: he was always really good, but almost kind of forgot
- 8:56Speaker 3: a little bit about how freaking good he was. And
- 8:58Speaker 3: that's why he was drafted away overall when he was like, like,
- 9:04Speaker 3: my god, they took a running back that high.
- 9:05Speaker 5: Well, he's not just a running back. You can catch
- 9:07Speaker 5: the baut of the backfield.
- 9:09Speaker 3: He's a great blocker, like he kind of does every
- 9:12Speaker 3: He's kind of the kind of Derrick Henry like he's
- 9:15Speaker 3: the he's.
- 9:16Speaker 5: The outlier right now. As running back.
- 9:19Speaker 3: And I mean, I honestly I think I text you, guys,
- 9:21Speaker 3: see the best running back we've had ever like it
- 9:25Speaker 3: for the Eagles.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Like he's up there.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think that's necessarily a high bar
- 9:29Speaker 2: to clear.
- 9:30Speaker 5: But yeah, that's the problem. Yeah exactly.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but I mean to your point, yeah he is.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Let's see what he does, because I still think Shady
- 9:38Speaker 1: is definitely top top tier in my opinion. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 9:47Speaker 1: all right, offensively too. When you take a look at
- 9:50Speaker 1: the receiving A J. Brown had ten targets, only came
- 9:53Speaker 1: down with five balls, but Jesus one hundred and nineteen
- 9:56Speaker 1: yards averaged twenty three point eight yards per reception, and
- 9:59Speaker 1: it's much down. Davonte Smith targeted eight times, caught seven
- 10:03Speaker 1: of those balls for eighty four yards. He averaged twelve
- 10:06Speaker 1: yards per reception. And Dallas Goddard of course, involved with
- 10:10Speaker 1: five targets and coming down with four balls for thirty
- 10:14Speaker 1: one yards. To the receivers, I think, in general, did
- 10:18Speaker 1: what they were asked to do. I think I think
- 10:21Speaker 1: the receivers actually did a pretty good job in this game.
- 10:23Speaker 1: We'll do the grades in a little bit, but I
- 10:25Speaker 1: think the receivers did pretty well.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I agree, agreed, go ahead. I'm sorry.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Green Bay's defensive backs are good. I mean they signed
- 10:33Speaker 3: that kid from Minnesota, Xavier. Yeah, yeah, damn goodball player,
- 10:40Speaker 3: and I think their secondary is pretty strong and they
- 10:42Speaker 3: they did really well. Like this is all on Jalen
- 10:46Speaker 3: Hurts this year. They gave him every weapon necessary. The
- 10:49Speaker 3: offensive line actually played pretty damn well. I'll say, I
- 10:52Speaker 3: know the Jurgons thing was awkward, but like, they gave
- 10:55Speaker 3: him plenty of time. There were times where Kurtz was
- 10:57Speaker 3: back there like eight seconds, like yeah, something to get open, Like,
- 11:01Speaker 3: I got plenty of time here, and he ran for
- 11:04Speaker 3: a couple of weird ones. But like I thought, defensive
- 11:07Speaker 3: line did really well. Again, this is the most potent
- 11:11Speaker 3: offense that they've ever put around him, So with a
- 11:14Speaker 3: legit coordinator, it's on him to make this work.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yet we were consistently seeing third and long from this
- 11:22Speaker 1: Eagles offense too. It's a theme, guys from last season
- 11:26Speaker 1: that's continuing here into Week one, and I do wonder
- 11:29Speaker 1: if it's that, if it's that Nick Sirianni effect. I
- 11:32Speaker 1: wonder if it's you know, it's the combination that they're
- 11:36Speaker 1: saying of Nick Sirianni's offense and Kellen Moore's offense, and
- 11:39Speaker 1: of course we saw what Kellen Moore's offense was for
- 11:42Speaker 1: the first game. My gosh, it was so nice to
- 11:44Speaker 1: see pre snap motion. It was so nice to see
- 11:47Speaker 1: the defense, the opposing defense just being caught off guard
- 11:51Speaker 1: because of pre snap motion. Something simple that's been happening
- 11:55Speaker 1: for many years in the NFL. Nick and Nick Sirianni's
- 11:58Speaker 1: telling Kellen Moore, Okay, go ahead, Yeah, why don't you
- 12:00Speaker 1: use that?
- 12:02Speaker 4: Yeah, they had a good stat during the game of
- 12:04Speaker 4: like you know, last year they were dead last in
- 12:07Speaker 4: the NFL, and then yep, tonight they ran it like
- 12:09Speaker 4: I think sixty eight percent of the time, which is
- 12:12Speaker 4: a drastic difference.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Absolutely, yeah, absolutely, Do you guys have anything else for
- 12:17Speaker 1: the offense, because I definitely want to get into the defense.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I got some stuff here, some themes here. No, No, okay,
- 12:24Speaker 1: I just I.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Mean Eric mentioned that one play where were hurts, you know,
- 12:29Speaker 4: put his head down and just ran for the first down,
- 12:32Speaker 4: and I like kind of, you know, yelled out to
- 12:35Speaker 4: nobody in particular, like where was this all game? Like,
- 12:38Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know, I feel like, like, Okay,
- 12:41Speaker 4: a quarterback comes into the league and we get excited
- 12:44Speaker 4: about him, and he's doing all this awesome stuff. He's
- 12:46Speaker 4: throwing the ball, he's running the ball, and then he
- 12:48Speaker 4: stops running the ball.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I feel like this happened with McNabb. I feel like
- 12:52Speaker 2: it happened with.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Wentz, Like I like, I feel like I've seen this
- 12:56Speaker 4: a lot before. Yeah, and I like up until like
- 12:59Speaker 4: like that at the end of the day game, I
- 13:00Speaker 4: feel like I was seeing it with Hurts too.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Well, but is that a byproduct of like the play calling,
- 13:05Speaker 3: because I was watching the game too, and when Hurts,
- 13:09Speaker 3: when Hurts ran first down, I'm thinking, like this team
- 13:12Speaker 3: could bully ball if they wanted to.
- 13:15Speaker 5: Massive defensive line.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Barkley is just a bowling ball, and so is the quarterback.
- 13:20Speaker 3: And it's like if if the past game is not there,
- 13:23Speaker 3: that was only want to take away too of positivity,
- 13:26Speaker 3: is like if the if if the passing is just
- 13:29Speaker 3: not there, they could just barrel barrel through teams that
- 13:33Speaker 3: they wanted to because they had so many athletes that
- 13:35Speaker 3: could run the ball.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Absolutely, And by the way they were they were the
- 13:40Speaker 4: commentators on numerous occasions made made comments about how much
- 13:45Speaker 4: Hurts and Barkley both squat like I was waiting for
- 13:48Speaker 4: them to do our like tight jeans joke.
- 13:51Speaker 2: It was like, how just talking about those It was weird.
- 13:56Speaker 5: By the way, they even showed footage of them squatting.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Yes, I know, yeah, I'm surprised they didn't start squatting
- 14:02Speaker 3: in the booth like they were.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I love the squats tight just this tight spandex. And
- 14:13Speaker 1: by the way, how the hell do we have Ian
- 14:17Speaker 1: Eagle for this game and Todd Blackletch for the for
- 14:20Speaker 1: the broadcasters.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I don't think I've ever seen Todd Blacklch do a
- 14:24Speaker 4: pro game.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I think I've seen him do like one, I think
- 14:28Speaker 1: for NBC. But it was like during like maybe one
- 14:31Speaker 1: of those double Monday Night games or something like that
- 14:34Speaker 1: years ago, or or or you know when they do
- 14:38Speaker 1: like the double Monday Night games or something. I don't know, maybe.
- 14:41Speaker 3: It's it was a terrible Monday Night with the second
- 14:44Speaker 3: Monday Night game. Is like, like you and I do
- 14:46Speaker 3: the game, they have no one left to right to
- 14:48Speaker 3: I should broadcast the game like that's Yeah, it was weird.
- 14:53Speaker 3: The whole situation was weird. Thank god they won, but
- 14:56Speaker 3: like just let's just never do that again. I didn't
- 14:58Speaker 3: like any any aspects.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Of Well, I gotta say there were certain parts of
- 15:02Speaker 1: this Eagles defense I liked. In some parts I absolutely
- 15:05Speaker 1: did not like. Let's get into what I really didn't
- 15:09Speaker 1: like and guys, well, we talked about on the Eagle
- 15:11Speaker 1: season preview show this past week. Folks, go back and
- 15:14Speaker 1: listen to it in the in the feed if you
- 15:16Speaker 1: haven't heard it yet. The Eagles pass rush, guys, Wow,
- 15:21Speaker 1: a whole lot of nothing from Josh Sweat, Bryce Huff
- 15:25Speaker 1: or Nolan Smith nowhere to be found. Boy, the pass
- 15:28Speaker 1: rush in and the defensive tackles while first quarter actually
- 15:35Speaker 1: playing very well, clogging up those gaps. My goodness, Jalen
- 15:39Speaker 1: Carter and Davis just just, oh my gosh, getting bullied around.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I couldn't believe what was happening. I'm like, Wow, this
- 15:48Speaker 1: defensive front is gonna potentially have a problem. I'm eric,
- 15:52Speaker 1: I'm pretty concerned about it moving forward.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Like so, Green Bay's offensive line is pretty good, and
- 15:59Speaker 3: I you know, I thought they'd give Jordan Love some
- 16:01Speaker 3: some some time, and I thought Jacos have a good game.
- 16:05Speaker 3: But what I did, the number one thing I did
- 16:07Speaker 3: not like and we talked about on the show for
- 16:09Speaker 3: weeks now, was like if the tackles have a good season,
- 16:12Speaker 3: the edge rushers will have a good season, And it
- 16:13Speaker 3: just kind of goes like that from like domino effect
- 16:17Speaker 3: and second quarter they're already wearing down, They're already huffing
- 16:21Speaker 3: and puffing. Jalen Carter has two bad penalties, almost like
- 16:25Speaker 3: I'm tired penalties. That that was, That's that was the
- 16:30Speaker 3: number one most concerning thing about this game for me
- 16:32Speaker 3: is that those guys.
- 16:34Speaker 5: Is Jordan Davis going to make it this year?
- 16:37Speaker 2: Like is that a not in football shape yet thing
- 16:41Speaker 2: for you?
- 16:41Speaker 4: Is that something that you think that as the as
- 16:43Speaker 4: the season goes on, they'll they'll get better with.
- 16:46Speaker 3: But again, that's that's on Nick Sirianni, obviously, he and I.
- 16:51Speaker 3: That was that was really the most concerning thing. And
- 16:53Speaker 3: I'm thinking, like, Okay, Week four, They're playing at Tampa Bay, right,
- 16:57Speaker 3: is Jordan David's going to be winded halfway through the
- 17:00Speaker 3: first quarter because it's ninety five degrees down there.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Probably gonna be muggy down there. Yeah.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Yeah, And by week eight, by week twelve, like that,
- 17:08Speaker 3: that was the most concerted because I think everything feeds
- 17:10Speaker 3: off of their performance, and they were good for like
- 17:14Speaker 3: a quarter and a half.
- 17:15Speaker 5: The rest of time they kind of sucked, like they
- 17:16Speaker 5: got pushed around.
- 17:17Speaker 1: They did, they did. There was one hundred and sixty
- 17:19Speaker 1: three total rushing yards by Green Bay. And when you
- 17:23Speaker 1: look on the box score, and I know the box
- 17:25Speaker 1: score with the defense doesn't always paint the picture, but
- 17:30Speaker 1: you've got Josh Sweat with one tackle, one tackle for
- 17:34Speaker 1: a loss, Jalen Carter had two total tackles, and you've
- 17:39Speaker 1: got Davis not even on here.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Okay, hold my my dark horse MVP Bryce Huff, Yeah,
- 17:46Speaker 3: was he playing tonight.
- 17:47Speaker 5: I'm not sure he had.
- 17:48Speaker 1: One total tackle.
- 17:49Speaker 2: He was out there.
- 17:51Speaker 3: My goodness. That was a that was Oh my god.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I already forgot the guy's name for the sixers. He
- 17:58Speaker 3: was our powerful Tobias Tyris, Tobias. That was a Tobias
- 18:02Speaker 3: Harris performance. It was like, oh, he's out there. He
- 18:05Speaker 3: has eight points and two rebounds. I forgot. I forgot
- 18:07Speaker 3: Bryce Huff was out there.
- 18:08Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 18:09Speaker 5: He didn't do anything tonight.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Nothing. I picked Josh Swett. Remember, I was like, listen,
- 18:13Speaker 1: I'm going to the other side of the line. I'm
- 18:15Speaker 1: going Josh Sweat. I mean he had one total tackle
- 18:18Speaker 1: one time, he did have a tackle for a loss
- 18:20Speaker 1: and a quarterback hit. That that's it. That's not good.
- 18:25Speaker 3: That's how traumatic my Tobias hair situation was. Yes, I
- 18:28Speaker 3: already blinked out. I couldn't remember his name. I had
- 18:31Speaker 3: to move on.
- 18:32Speaker 5: It's not me.
- 18:32Speaker 2: It's something that's healthy for you.
- 18:34Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 18:37Speaker 2: So.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Yeah, defensive line getting pressure, it's it's definitely an issue.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I mean, making tackles, it's definitely an issue. I have
- 18:45Speaker 1: to say this though. On the opposite side of the coin,
- 18:48Speaker 1: the Eagles inside linebackers, Uh, not too too bad, Na,
- 18:53Speaker 1: Kobe Dean and Zach Bond. I mean very I mean
- 18:57Speaker 1: I'm talking the pursuit in terms of the right game.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Clearly very good playing downhill. Still a concern with them,
- 19:05Speaker 1: of course when they're in coverage, because we did see
- 19:09Speaker 1: both of these guys. They need to work on it,
- 19:11Speaker 1: for sure, and I've been talking about it a lot
- 19:13Speaker 1: on this podcast platform since the spring. You gotta cover
- 19:17Speaker 1: if you're a linebacker in Nick fan or in Vic
- 19:20Speaker 1: Fangio's scheme here, and they were having some problems with that,
- 19:23Speaker 1: struggling with it. Hopefully they can get some things corrected.
- 19:27Speaker 1: But that was a positive. The linebackers in this game, guys,
- 19:30Speaker 1: I thought were a positive. Len I was happy, of
- 19:34Speaker 1: course with Zach Bond because we're seriously throughout the throughout
- 19:38Speaker 1: camp and stuff, were like, all right, who's a Zach
- 19:39Speaker 1: Bond guy? You know what's he he did?
- 19:43Speaker 2: He thought he was.
- 19:45Speaker 1: His pursuit to the ball was incredible. I loved what
- 19:47Speaker 1: the linebackers did, and I'm feeling a little better about
- 19:50Speaker 1: this position and moving forward here.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I liked the game that both of them had.
- 19:55Speaker 4: I think that Dean maybe got a little bit more
- 19:58Speaker 4: lost and coverage something, oh yeah, you know, I thought,
- 20:02Speaker 4: But I thought he made some nice play too. But
- 20:05Speaker 4: I was, you know, I was really impressed with Zach Bonn.
- 20:08Speaker 4: I thought he had a really nice game, and I know,
- 20:12Speaker 4: you know, you mentioned a couple of times where he
- 20:14Speaker 4: got a little bit turned around in coverage as well,
- 20:16Speaker 4: But I mean, you.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Know, he had both our sacks. You know, I just
- 20:19Speaker 2: feel like every time I was.
- 20:21Speaker 4: Watching and there was a decent play made, he was
- 20:24Speaker 4: kind of in around it. So I thought he was
- 20:27Speaker 4: their best player on defense. Well you know what that
- 20:29Speaker 4: and you know, we'll get into the secondary, but you know,
- 20:31Speaker 4: they went after Quinny and Mitchell early, and I thought
- 20:35Speaker 4: he acquitted himself quite nicely.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Absolutely, absolutely, I was going to get into that as well.
- 20:40Speaker 1: We'll get into the secondary and a little bit too.
- 20:43Speaker 1: But like Eric, the first three Packers drives of this
- 20:47Speaker 1: of the game. First drive, it started at Green Bay's
- 20:49Speaker 1: thirty five yard line. They came away with zero points.
- 20:52Speaker 1: The Packers second drive of the game started at the
- 20:55Speaker 1: Eagles nineteen and they came away with three points. Packer's
- 20:59Speaker 1: third drive of the games started that the Eagles sixteen
- 21:01Speaker 1: yard line, and they came away with three points. The
- 21:05Speaker 1: Eagles defense did their job early in this game and
- 21:09Speaker 1: then kind of kind of fell apart here and there,
- 21:11Speaker 1: giving up the big plays, giving up the big explosive plays.
- 21:14Speaker 1: But a lot of that was because of the linebackers,
- 21:16Speaker 1: believe it or not, and because of Zach Bond that
- 21:20Speaker 1: that the Packers were held to only six points on
- 21:23Speaker 1: their first three drives, and two of those drives like
- 21:27Speaker 1: within the red zone basically, And I gotta give the
- 21:31Speaker 1: linebackers a lot of credit.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Man.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Can I just say how many times this year are
- 21:36Speaker 3: you going to say Nick Fangio.
- 21:38Speaker 1: I know I'm an idiot. I know.
- 21:43Speaker 5: You already did it once. I'm just I'm anticipating it.
- 21:47Speaker 3: It's very easy to switch those up. So but the
- 21:53Speaker 3: one thing I did not like they did. They weren't
- 21:56Speaker 3: great in coverage the linebackers, sure, but then I think
- 22:00Speaker 3: I noticed with them, and we've we've seen mediocre linebacker
- 22:03Speaker 3: play with this team for for years now, was just
- 22:06Speaker 3: the speed and the pursuit of the ball like that
- 22:10Speaker 3: that was what jumped out, is that Bond and Dean
- 22:14Speaker 3: like really were ballhawks, to use a cliche term, but
- 22:18Speaker 3: like they were really fast, and I have not seen
- 22:20Speaker 3: fast linebackers on this team in a long time. I
- 22:23Speaker 3: think it's actually good for Niakobe Dean that Devin White
- 22:25Speaker 3: didn't didn't play allowed him to like he played really well.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Like he like you said, he missed like one or
- 22:31Speaker 3: two plays in coverage, but like, just just how fast
- 22:34Speaker 3: they were and getting to the ball really made me
- 22:36Speaker 3: feel good. And it really helped the secondary, which you
- 22:40Speaker 3: know we'll get into. But like Mitchell, Mitchell had one
- 22:42Speaker 3: or two bad plays a rookie, as an understandable, but
- 22:48Speaker 3: in coverage he was pretty damn good. And he was
- 22:50Speaker 3: also in guy's faces, like I love that. I just
- 22:54Speaker 3: love that aggressiveness. That's what they have to doesn't because
- 22:57Speaker 3: Gardner Johnson didn't have the greatest game tonight. I did
- 22:59Speaker 3: not play super well. Blankenship, thank god, was he was
- 23:03Speaker 3: a beast today. He was really really good. And I
- 23:06Speaker 3: thought those I thought, I thought Bond, Dean, blanken Ship,
- 23:09Speaker 3: and Mitchell kind of the kind of the superstars of
- 23:13Speaker 3: the defense tonight.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Absolutely, Quinnon Mitchell. They were targeting him, Len, like
- 23:17Speaker 1: you said, right at the start of the game, and
- 23:20Speaker 1: and he held up. He held up on that opening
- 23:22Speaker 1: drive and throughout the game. A couple of mishaps here
- 23:25Speaker 1: and there. He's a rookie. Things are gonna happen. But
- 23:28Speaker 1: he looks like the real deal. And it looks like
- 23:31Speaker 1: he belongs it does it looked like it looks like
- 23:34Speaker 1: he belongs. And you know what, it was at high
- 23:36Speaker 1: draft pick in the first round. Looks like for good
- 23:40Speaker 1: reason too. What I thought was interesting though, also Len,
- 23:44Speaker 1: and I thought we'd see more of him was Cooper
- 23:46Speaker 1: dejen He he came in. I think he was only
- 23:50Speaker 1: in for one play. He was the sixth defensive back
- 23:53Speaker 1: in dime personnel in the first quarter. Think again, I
- 23:56Speaker 1: think I saw him for one play. It was hard
- 23:59Speaker 1: to believe that he didn't see more time, given that
- 24:02Speaker 1: Avonte Maddox was getting cooked throughout the game and did
- 24:05Speaker 1: not have a very good game. I'm surprised that they
- 24:08Speaker 1: didn't try to put Cooper to Gene in their len
- 24:12Speaker 1: at least a few more, a few plays to see
- 24:14Speaker 1: if he could kind of cut through some of the
- 24:16Speaker 1: stuff that Avonte Maddox was just struggling with.
- 24:21Speaker 4: I feel like the Eagles in the past few years
- 24:23Speaker 4: have had quite a few rookies, like defensively, especially that
- 24:28Speaker 4: like you've been like, okay, like this guy was supposed
- 24:32Speaker 4: to be really good, I'm not seeing it in his
- 24:35Speaker 4: rookie year. And it feels like they've just developed a
- 24:38Speaker 4: little bit later, and I can easily see that being
- 24:41Speaker 4: Cooper to Gene this year.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Okay.
- 24:43Speaker 4: I like where they're they're maybe not quite ready for
- 24:46Speaker 4: the NFL yet, maybe not as much as you thought
- 24:48Speaker 4: they might be, and they come on a little bit later.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I have a feeling that's going to be Cooper.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Do you think it's because I was injured through so
- 24:55Speaker 1: much of the camp.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Yeah, it definitely doesn't help, but he's like Mitchell seems
- 25:03Speaker 4: to me like one of those born ready guys, whereas.
- 25:05Speaker 2: The Gene seems like he's gonna It's like.
- 25:07Speaker 4: Dean and Davis and even Carter to an extent, Gilen Carter,
- 25:12Speaker 4: who started off hot and then fell off like like, man,
- 25:16Speaker 4: I don't know, like I with a couple of their
- 25:19Speaker 4: defensive rookies, I felt like I expected a little bit more.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think that's gonna be Cooper to Gene
- 25:25Speaker 2: this year.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Okay, really quick. With regard to Zach Bond, fifteen total tackles,
- 25:31Speaker 1: eleven solo, two sacks, he had a tackle for a
- 25:34Speaker 1: loss in two quarterback hits. He's definitely the MVP of
- 25:37Speaker 1: this Eagles defense for sure. Do you guys have anything
- 25:41Speaker 1: else for the defense before we go to break?
- 25:44Speaker 4: Just like timing wise, I mean, yeah, they gave up
- 25:47Speaker 4: twenty nine points and that's not great, but you know,
- 25:50Speaker 4: given how bad this game started offensively from them being
- 25:56Speaker 4: completely discombobulated and also you know, giving up bad field position, yeah,
- 26:01Speaker 4: this could have gotten out.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Of hand really bad. Like really it felt like it
- 26:05Speaker 2: was going on for the defense.
- 26:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and so could have whatever they did the rest
- 26:10Speaker 4: of the game.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Kudos to them for at least keeping the offense in
- 26:13Speaker 2: the game early.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Yep, you got anything else there?
- 26:16Speaker 3: Yeah, this could have been seventeen to three, really fast,
- 26:20Speaker 3: super easy. Like the defense had their backup against the walls,
- 26:24Speaker 3: against the wall, and every time they stopped them against
- 26:28Speaker 3: a really damn good Packers offense like they you know
- 26:31Speaker 3: you saw on the cash last year, they kicked ass. Yeah,
- 26:34Speaker 3: and they they really stepped up to give up twenty
- 26:37Speaker 3: nine points to this team. Not bad at your first
- 26:40Speaker 3: game too, by the way, with a lot of young
- 26:42Speaker 3: players and for for Dejeene or de Jonn whatever his
- 26:46Speaker 3: name is.
- 26:48Speaker 5: Yeah, he's young.
- 26:49Speaker 3: He's like we're drafting guys now, they're like twenty twenty
- 26:54Speaker 3: one years old. Yeah, and it's like when we expect
- 26:56Speaker 3: everything from them.
- 26:57Speaker 5: And he was hurt.
- 26:59Speaker 3: I don't think he how much did he even practice
- 27:01Speaker 3: with this team, So I'm not surprising didn't play.
- 27:03Speaker 5: So I have high hopes for him.
- 27:05Speaker 3: So the defense overall think that that is we predicted
- 27:09Speaker 3: all of us to the Packers to beat us because
- 27:12Speaker 3: we didn't know, and we thought the defense was going
- 27:14Speaker 3: to be We're not sure. And it's a really good offense.
- 27:17Speaker 3: And they held them to twenty nine points given the
- 27:19Speaker 3: field position issue, and they still they still won the
- 27:22Speaker 3: game and did their job in the first and second quarter.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, it was a It was definitely a bend.
- 27:29Speaker 1: The Eagles defense had a whole lot of bend, but
- 27:32Speaker 1: they weren't breaking in key red zone spots in particular.
- 27:37Speaker 1: So I think that Green Bay offense had only one
- 27:40Speaker 1: touchdown on four red zone possessions. Again, that's an Eagles
- 27:44Speaker 1: defense with a whole lot of bend, and they just
- 27:46Speaker 1: weren't breaking there in those spots, which was great. So
- 27:49Speaker 1: we're gonna take a quick break, and when we come back,
- 27:51Speaker 1: we are going to do our grades. Take a break
- 27:54Speaker 1: right now, All right, we are back. Let's get to
- 27:58Speaker 1: our grades. Start off at the quarterback position. I am
- 28:02Speaker 1: going to be giving Jalen Hurts this week a B minus.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I don't know, I feel like he was just all
- 28:08Speaker 1: over the place. Len, what do you give Jalen Hurts
- 28:11Speaker 1: this week? I mean considering he ended with you know,
- 28:14Speaker 1: two hundred and seventy eight yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions,
- 28:17Speaker 1: eight point two yards per attempt. He was twenty of
- 28:21Speaker 1: thirty four and ended with a rating of eighty point three.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Not terrible. He had some fantastic plays. He had some
- 28:27Speaker 1: awful plays, as we know too. But I'm gonna give
- 28:29Speaker 1: him a B minus. This team ended up winning and
- 28:31Speaker 1: he was a part of that. So Len, I'm giving
- 28:34Speaker 1: him a B minus. What do you give him?
- 28:36Speaker 4: I feel like I might be harsher than him that
- 28:39Speaker 4: with him than I should be this week, just because
- 28:41Speaker 4: I just the mistakes were just like, there was a
- 28:45Speaker 4: point early in the game.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Where was that?
- 28:46Speaker 4: Has this guy ever picked up a football before? Like,
- 28:48Speaker 4: I know, what what happened to this guy?
- 28:51Speaker 2: What?
- 28:51Speaker 4: Remember the guy that lost in the Super Bowl the Chiefs?
- 28:54Speaker 4: But was like just super dynamic, Like where where is
- 28:58Speaker 4: that guy?
- 28:58Speaker 2: What happened? Yeah?
- 29:00Speaker 4: So yeah, I mean there's a lot of stuff he
- 29:03Speaker 4: needs to iron now, a lot of stuff that you
- 29:05Speaker 4: mentioned earlier. At this point in his career, it's a
- 29:08Speaker 4: little concerning that's still happening. But you know, he did
- 29:13Speaker 4: kind of come back a little bit in the second half.
- 29:15Speaker 4: The overall stats, when you look at him, they're not bad.
- 29:20Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna go C plus C plus.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Okay, Eric, what do you give Jalen Hurts this week?
- 29:26Speaker 5: I actually like your B minus grade? I'll do the
- 29:28Speaker 5: same thing.
- 29:29Speaker 3: It's one of those classical like you look at the stats,
- 29:31Speaker 3: go not bad. Watch the game like, oh boy, yeah,
- 29:34Speaker 3: I can see. I can see that this was his
- 29:36Speaker 3: first game since January.
- 29:38Speaker 5: All right, yeah, so I.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Again, if Nick is back next year, can we not
- 29:45Speaker 3: do the I'm not going to play any of my
- 29:47Speaker 3: starters in preseason.
- 29:48Speaker 5: It's just such a bad move.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Like the good teams, Like you watch the good teams
- 29:53Speaker 3: and go, oh yeah, I should do that, Like this
- 29:55Speaker 3: is not that hard, this is very easy.
- 29:59Speaker 4: Can I ask a quick question here? Yeah, just like
- 30:02Speaker 4: just like and this is like projection down the road.
- 30:05Speaker 4: But it's just because since Eric said, if Nick is back,
- 30:09Speaker 4: what do you think the threshold is for him being
- 30:13Speaker 4: back versus not being back?
- 30:14Speaker 1: Oh, I don't think you were on that show. Of
- 30:16Speaker 1: course you weren't, because I think that was what Eric
- 30:19Speaker 1: and I were talking about. Eric, were we talking about that?
- 30:21Speaker 1: And I think it's I think it's got to be
- 30:23Speaker 1: getting to the divisional round of the playoffs this year,
- 30:26Speaker 1: That's what I think. That's what I think.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Yeah, the threshold is if they're like three and eight,
- 30:34Speaker 3: like you might.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Get during the mid season, firing at that point.
- 30:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but but like, yeah, I think he has
- 30:41Speaker 3: to at least go to like the next round of
- 30:42Speaker 3: the playoffs.
- 30:43Speaker 1: To Okay, all right, that's fair, divisional round. All right,
- 30:47Speaker 1: Let's move to the law. To the running back, I mean,
- 30:49Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley. I'm given an A plus. I'm phenomenal. It's
- 30:54Speaker 1: just great to have a top tier quarterback for this team.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I think he did everything he was asked to do
- 30:59Speaker 1: by this coaching staff and then some I'm giving him
- 31:03Speaker 1: an a plus. What do Eric, what do you give
- 31:04Speaker 1: him a plus?
- 31:06Speaker 5: And I thought Ken Gamewell like when he was on
- 31:08Speaker 5: the field when.
- 31:09Speaker 3: Barkley was out for a little while, because I was
- 31:11Speaker 3: scared to death by the way, were you guys, Oh
- 31:14Speaker 3: Barkley wasn't coming back.
- 31:14Speaker 5: Oh my god.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, I just assumed it was they
- 31:17Speaker 2: were giving him a blow, but you know.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Yeah, he got up awkwardly. That won play, and I
- 31:22Speaker 3: got concerned. But I thought game well, played well too.
- 31:24Speaker 3: His stats don't show that, but he was. He was
- 31:26Speaker 3: good too. I I my one concern going forward. It's
- 31:31Speaker 3: a heavy load for him. Yeah, and he does have
- 31:34Speaker 3: an injury history. I'm just hoping, like we don't rush him,
- 31:38Speaker 3: you know, like we did tonight. I'm hoping like he
- 31:41Speaker 3: gets kind of a break throughout the season again, this game,
- 31:45Speaker 3: we should probably just throw this game out as fans, like,
- 31:48Speaker 3: let's just not pay attention to this piece of ship.
- 31:50Speaker 5: It's such a weird game. Yeah.
- 31:52Speaker 3: But but but the workload is a little concerning, you know,
- 31:55Speaker 3: considering how much he was on the field.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeahlen, what do you what do you give Saquon
- 32:00Speaker 1: Barkley and the running backs in general?
- 32:03Speaker 4: I want to save an A plus grade for like
- 32:07Speaker 4: that that ridiculous like two hundred yards you know, in
- 32:12Speaker 4: a game, and you know, three to three or four
- 32:15Speaker 4: touchdown like like that kind of game, like when Nick
- 32:17Speaker 4: Foles threw seven touchdowns in a game.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I get you.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Okay, that's a plus. So I'm gonna give him an A.
- 32:23Speaker 4: But I mean, don't get me wrong. I loved what
- 32:26Speaker 4: he did, how he looked, the whole thing. I mean,
- 32:28Speaker 4: I thought he was phenomenal. He's the best player on
- 32:30Speaker 4: the field.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Yes, he definitely was the best player on offense for sure. Okay,
- 32:34Speaker 1: let's move to the receivers, including tight end. Like I
- 32:39Speaker 1: said earlier, I think they did everything they were asked
- 32:42Speaker 1: to do. It was really you know, when balls were
- 32:44Speaker 1: not being caught, It wasn't that they were being dropped
- 32:47Speaker 1: in this game at all. Devonte Smith, AJ Brown, Dallas Goddard,
- 32:51Speaker 1: the running backs, they did what they needed to do
- 32:54Speaker 1: in this game catching balls. So I'm giving the receivers
- 32:57Speaker 1: an a minus this week. What do you what do
- 32:59Speaker 1: you give him? Len?
- 33:01Speaker 4: A minus sounds good to me. I think that Brown
- 33:05Speaker 4: and Smith were both great. I wanted to see a
- 33:07Speaker 4: little bit more of Johan Dotson, who really didn't not
- 33:11Speaker 4: really didn't.
- 33:12Speaker 2: He didn't do anything in this game.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Yeah that's it.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's early. He just came to the team.
- 33:18Speaker 4: So I get it, you know, I get the fact
- 33:21Speaker 4: that he wasn't really involved.
- 33:22Speaker 2: And hopefully that deck.
- 33:24Speaker 4: Rows, you know, as the weeks go by and he gets,
- 33:27Speaker 4: you know a little more acclimated to the system and
- 33:29Speaker 4: all that good stuff.
- 33:31Speaker 2: But yeah, A minus. I thought it was a pretty strong.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Game by all the the main participants in the wide
- 33:37Speaker 4: receiver corps.
- 33:38Speaker 1: You're thinking around that area too, Eric A minus sish.
- 33:42Speaker 5: B plus.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Just before the Dallas Goddard disappearance act, which seems to
- 33:48Speaker 3: happen in most games, we talked about that during the
- 33:51Speaker 3: show a couple weeks ago, Like he's kind of been
- 33:54Speaker 3: declining year after year, but still has that weird status
- 33:58Speaker 3: in the league, like he's one of the top tight ends.
- 34:00Speaker 5: Like is he really sure? Is that more scheme?
- 34:04Speaker 2: Is that him?
- 34:05Speaker 3: I'm not sure? But like again he was targeted what
- 34:07Speaker 3: how many times?
- 34:08Speaker 1: I think five times? Yeah?
- 34:10Speaker 3: Yeah, for thirty one yards not you kind of need
- 34:14Speaker 3: him in this thing because the receiver are gonna get
- 34:16Speaker 3: double team left and right. But man Smith and Brown
- 34:21Speaker 3: would have won two punch, Like this is.
- 34:23Speaker 2: A good secondary.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Think what are we going to do against like teams
- 34:27Speaker 3: that just have a ship secondary? Like we played the Coms.
- 34:31Speaker 3: How are they going to block? Are they gonna been
- 34:34Speaker 3: these two? It's not gonna happen.
- 34:36Speaker 5: Come all over, you're gonna reverse it?
- 34:41Speaker 2: Oh my god?
- 34:42Speaker 1: Oh all right. The offensive line, I'm gonna give them
- 34:48Speaker 1: a bee this week. I give him a bee because
- 34:51Speaker 1: I think they were pretty pretty damn good with regard
- 34:53Speaker 1: to the run game, pretty good in past protection, although
- 34:58Speaker 1: struggling here and there. You had Lane Johnson giving up
- 35:02Speaker 1: a sack and I think that was probably gonna be
- 35:04Speaker 1: an off sides call on that defender. He still gave
- 35:09Speaker 1: up the sack, which is bizarre and and maybe being
- 35:12Speaker 1: a little nitpicky about that, considering Lane Johnson really doesn't
- 35:14Speaker 1: give up sacks. But every now and then, there were
- 35:17Speaker 1: a little bit of struggles in past protection that right
- 35:20Speaker 1: guard position a little a little shaky here and there
- 35:24Speaker 1: throughout the game. So I'm gonna give him a bee
- 35:27Speaker 1: this week, Lenn, what do you give the offensive line?
- 35:30Speaker 2: I think B is fair.
- 35:31Speaker 4: I mean, you know, yeah, there are a couple of sacks
- 35:34Speaker 4: on Hurts and you know, but the running game, I
- 35:37Speaker 4: think they got some good push. Yeah, well they needed too.
- 35:42Speaker 4: I think B is fair. I mean, given given what happened.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Okay, Eric, do you think B is uh kind of fair?
- 35:48Speaker 1: Where we're at right now? What do you think?
- 35:52Speaker 3: I go B plus I mean, honestly, this is the
- 35:54Speaker 3: first game playing together, and like this is this is
- 35:57Speaker 3: a brand new offensive line.
- 35:59Speaker 5: You're going from like the same offensive line for.
- 36:01Speaker 3: How many years in this team with the Kai Becton.
- 36:04Speaker 5: A guard that's scared the ship.
- 36:06Speaker 3: When I saw him starting, I'm like, oh my god.
- 36:11Speaker 3: But like really like they really did open up a
- 36:13Speaker 3: lot of holes for Barkley and I considering everything in
- 36:17Speaker 3: Cam Jurgen's like first real start at center on National TV.
- 36:21Speaker 3: He knows Kelsey's at home tweeting out stuff like like
- 36:25Speaker 3: that had to be.
- 36:26Speaker 2: A literally every other commercial too.
- 36:29Speaker 5: By the way, well that's a whole nother show.
- 36:36Speaker 3: The Kelsey's on the couch eating chips and dip is
- 36:39Speaker 3: going to be all year long. And I but if
- 36:42Speaker 3: you follow Kelsey on on Twitter, it was actually really good.
- 36:44Speaker 3: He was actually texting or tweeting out like really good
- 36:48Speaker 3: smart you know, analytic football. But I had to get
- 36:54Speaker 3: a better grade than you guys at that B plus
- 36:57Speaker 3: considering like the spot they're in.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Okay, move over to the defense, the defensive line, I
- 37:04Speaker 1: am going to give them a h I'm actually going
- 37:06Speaker 1: to give him a D plus. I hate I hate
- 37:08Speaker 1: saying the word plus because it makes it seem like
- 37:10Speaker 1: there are something there. So maybe I'll just give him
- 37:13Speaker 1: a D. Actually, like we said before, just no pressure
- 37:17Speaker 1: at all coming uh to Jordan Love and they just
- 37:22Speaker 1: the guys we thought that needed to step up, just
- 37:24Speaker 1: didn't didn't step up at all at all, Like we
- 37:27Speaker 1: talked about earlier, Eric, what do you think with regard
- 37:29Speaker 1: to the defensive line, I give again, I'm giving him
- 37:32Speaker 1: a D. What do you give them?
- 37:34Speaker 5: I C minus Jordan Loves had a shit ton of time.
- 37:41Speaker 3: He was really never running around except for the time
- 37:43Speaker 3: he possibly got hurt. But uh again, the tackles wore down,
- 37:48Speaker 3: the edge rushers just weren't there, and just a lot
- 37:51Speaker 3: of pressure. And Josh Jacobs, you know, he has the name,
- 37:55Speaker 3: he's from Alabama and he you know, he came to
- 37:57Speaker 3: Green Bay and like to resurrect his career. He had
- 38:00Speaker 3: a good game and it's like he's not that good
- 38:03Speaker 3: and he still struggled against it against like a team
- 38:07Speaker 3: that just doesn't have much a running game. And I again,
- 38:11Speaker 3: that's my number one fear. It wasn't That was one
- 38:14Speaker 3: of my biggest fears going into the season. It's still
- 38:17Speaker 3: still remains. I'm not sure what the hell's going on there?
- 38:20Speaker 1: All right, Len, what do you think with regard to
- 38:22Speaker 1: the defensive line, I'll.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Go D plus, you know, no push. It's funny.
- 38:29Speaker 4: I was I was reading an article before you know,
- 38:31Speaker 4: this morning, before you know, the well before the game,
- 38:34Speaker 4: and it was just Kuiper doing his list of like,
- 38:36Speaker 4: you know, not not a mock draft, but how he
- 38:40Speaker 4: ranks guys. And I'm already looking at certain positions, and
- 38:43Speaker 4: defensive end is absolutely positively one of them, like in
- 38:47Speaker 4: terms of where they need to really like get some
- 38:51Speaker 4: talent infused in there. And I just I think the
- 38:54Speaker 4: edge rushers provided nothing. Like you said, the defensive tackles,
- 38:58Speaker 4: who are the most import part of the defense, they
- 39:02Speaker 4: wore down. They wore down really quickly. So I gotta wonder, like,
- 39:08Speaker 4: is this just we're not in shape yet or is
- 39:10Speaker 4: this gonna be an all year things.
- 39:14Speaker 2: I hope to god they're out of shape.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Yes, well, they better get in shape really quick. They
- 39:19Speaker 1: got a week to get into shape, all right. The linebackers,
- 39:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna give the linebackers. I can't believe I'm saying
- 39:26Speaker 1: this for an Eagles linebacker corp. I'm gonna give them
- 39:28Speaker 1: an a minus. And and the minus is coming from
- 39:31Speaker 1: the fact that you know, the like we said, pass
- 39:33Speaker 1: coverage not the best, and I and I and we
- 39:36Speaker 1: knew that with this this talent, that that they weren't
- 39:39Speaker 1: necessarily gonna be great in coverage, and uh, they still
- 39:45Speaker 1: held their own the pursuit to the ball continuously from
- 39:49Speaker 1: Nakobe Dean and from Zac Bond. I'm giving him an
- 39:52Speaker 1: a minus. What do you give them?
- 39:53Speaker 2: Eric?
- 39:55Speaker 5: Oh, definitely a minus.
- 39:57Speaker 3: And I'm grading on a curve because we probably thought,
- 39:59Speaker 3: like C C plus, who's going to be their performance
- 40:03Speaker 3: this game, just because who are these guys?
- 40:05Speaker 5: They don't have any games.
- 40:07Speaker 3: But like I said earlier, the speed was the thing
- 40:10Speaker 3: that really jumped out and they really they really saved
- 40:13Speaker 3: the defensive lines ass tonight in this game.
- 40:16Speaker 1: They absolutely did lend What do you think with the linebackers,
- 40:18Speaker 1: what grade do you give them?
- 40:20Speaker 4: I think that a minus is more than fair that
- 40:23Speaker 4: you guys gave them.
- 40:24Speaker 2: I think they did a lot of good things there.
- 40:28Speaker 2: You know, the coverage.
- 40:30Speaker 4: There's a lot of worry there in terms of, you know,
- 40:33Speaker 4: if that becomes in all your thing.
- 40:34Speaker 2: But I thought, I.
- 40:35Speaker 4: Mean, like you said, given what we're used to with
- 40:38Speaker 4: linebackers with this.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Seam, I'll take it. Yeah, I'll definitely take it mighty.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Alrighty secondary, I'm going to give the secondary a B minus. Actually,
- 40:51Speaker 1: even though they gave up some explosive plays C. J.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Gardner Johnson, Eric, I think, as you mentioned earlier, didn't
- 40:57Speaker 1: have the greatest game in the world. I mean that
- 41:00Speaker 1: one whiff of a tackle that led to the the
- 41:04Speaker 1: the Jayden Reid touchdown, that's long, seventy yarder, bad play,
- 41:09Speaker 1: and he was completely out of position on that play.
- 41:13Speaker 1: But again, you have Quinnon, Mitchell, read Blankenship playing very
- 41:19Speaker 1: very well, and we really didn't hear Slay's name too
- 41:22Speaker 1: much out there, and that's that's kind of a good thing.
- 41:24Speaker 1: He was shut he was shutting some guys down as well.
- 41:27Speaker 1: So I'm gonna give the secondary a B minus Lynn.
- 41:30Speaker 1: What do you give him?
- 41:32Speaker 2: It's funny you mentioned Slay man. I I just, man,
- 41:35Speaker 2: I can't think of a the last time.
- 41:38Speaker 4: I've just not heard his name at all during which,
- 41:41Speaker 4: like you said, is a good good thing. Yeah, just
- 41:44Speaker 4: not heard his name at all over.
- 41:46Speaker 2: The course of the game.
- 41:47Speaker 4: So yeah, I guess if that was the case, he
- 41:50Speaker 4: played a good game. You know, I loved what I
- 41:52Speaker 4: saw out of Mitchell. You know, Gardner Johnson had you know,
- 41:56Speaker 4: one or two plays or it was just like, oh man,
- 41:58Speaker 4: he's out.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Of position, like he said on on on that uh
- 42:01Speaker 2: that one touchdown.
- 42:03Speaker 4: He looked really bad there and he was the deep
- 42:05Speaker 4: guy in coverage, like he just completely went to the
- 42:08Speaker 4: wrong side of the field. But all in all, I
- 42:12Speaker 4: thought they were decent.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Blanket ship had that fantastic interception.
- 42:16Speaker 2: He had to pick.
- 42:17Speaker 4: I think it's the the unit with the most you know,
- 42:20Speaker 4: growth potential and one that I think will be maybe
- 42:23Speaker 4: the most fun to follow given the investment made in
- 42:25Speaker 4: the secondary over the course of this year.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, I'm excited to follow them throughout the year. Yeah.
- 42:33Speaker 2: I thought they did a really good job.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I've given him a B minus. Eric, What do
- 42:38Speaker 1: you think I mean? It's lake Len said, it's gonna
- 42:40Speaker 1: be an interesting storyline this secondary, you know, given given
- 42:43Speaker 1: how young they are, and uh, you know, there's a
- 42:46Speaker 1: high ceiling for these guys. What do you think they're great?
- 42:48Speaker 5: Is here? Just real quick?
- 42:51Speaker 3: So every year we all get together our friends and
- 42:54Speaker 3: I like for a weekend for the draft, right yeah,
- 42:58Speaker 3: and we're on our late forties now, and the second
- 43:01Speaker 3: night of that weekend we start to yawn and get
- 43:05Speaker 3: a little tired. The first night's like, yeah, we're doing this,
- 43:11Speaker 3: and the second night's like.
- 43:13Speaker 5: Okay, we're still We're still going for We're all tired.
- 43:16Speaker 5: That's what the show feels like.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Right now.
- 43:18Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm yatting my ass off over here. I
- 43:23Speaker 5: wasn't going to mention it.
- 43:24Speaker 1: I'm glad I was going to mention it, but I'm like,
- 43:27Speaker 1: I'm going to mention it.
- 43:28Speaker 5: I'm trying.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Man, the secondary gets to be I'm gonna go a
- 43:31Speaker 3: little higher than you guys, all right. I think Darius
- 43:34Speaker 3: Slay was quiet because they targeted Mitchell the whole game.
- 43:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I think like they kind of.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Went away from Sleigh and it's the kids first game
- 43:42Speaker 3: in the NFL. I thought, you know, he had one
- 43:45Speaker 3: or two bad plays, but overall, man, like, what a
- 43:47Speaker 3: what a first game performance in my opinion.
- 43:49Speaker 1: And on the shoulder too.
- 43:51Speaker 3: And I love that because he went to a small
- 43:53Speaker 3: school and that was smart of how he to to
- 43:55Speaker 3: realize that I went he went to Toledo and he's like,
- 43:58Speaker 3: fuck all y'all.
- 43:59Speaker 5: I'm like, he got in guy's face. And I love
- 44:01Speaker 5: that that he kind of that.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Uh.
- 44:05Speaker 3: I just like that fire and between him and blanken
- 44:08Speaker 3: Ship they kind of saved the game for them because
- 44:11Speaker 3: those receivers for the Packers are frightening like that Red
- 44:15Speaker 3: and my god like but yeah, a B And I'm
- 44:19Speaker 3: really interested in seeing with with Dejene de June.
- 44:25Speaker 5: Whatever he can give you this year.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Like that, I agree with the line, Like, that's really
- 44:29Speaker 3: the most Like I wonder what's gonna happen this season
- 44:31Speaker 3: with the secondary.
- 44:33Speaker 1: All right, let's get into some coaching grades. Well let's uh,
- 44:36Speaker 1: let's let's grade the special teams here, special teams. Jesus,
- 44:40Speaker 1: all right, I don't think they should call it the
- 44:42Speaker 1: dynamic kickoff anymore?
- 44:45Speaker 2: What is that?
- 44:47Speaker 1: I gotta tell you. In the preseason it was it
- 44:50Speaker 1: was not bad because like teams were actually like experimenting
- 44:54Speaker 1: with it, kicking it to the four yard line, five
- 44:57Speaker 1: yard line, making guys bring the ball out. It was
- 45:00Speaker 1: actually like it was actually fun during the preseason. This game, nope.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Yesterday during the Ravens and Chiefs game, Nope, it was garbage.
- 45:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna give you a little bit of disclosure here.
- 45:12Speaker 4: Okay, I I had, you know, read that the Eagles
- 45:15Speaker 4: weren't going to be playing their their starters at all
- 45:18Speaker 4: in the preseason, right.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I did not watch any preseason.
- 45:22Speaker 4: Okay, last night I watched a little bit of the
- 45:26Speaker 4: Chiefs and Ravens.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Then I saw a kickoff and I was like, wait,
- 45:31Speaker 2: what are they doing? I was like, what the hell
- 45:36Speaker 2: is this? You didn't read about it?
- 45:37Speaker 4: I watched again and I was like, this is the
- 45:40Speaker 4: dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life, this dynamic kickoffs.
- 45:44Speaker 1: I thought it was gonna be great. But man, during
- 45:46Speaker 1: the regular season, here so far, oh boy, terrible. I mean,
- 45:50Speaker 1: you've got illegal formation by the Eagles on the opening
- 45:53Speaker 1: kickoff by Keeley Ringo. It's like, my God, of course
- 45:56Speaker 1: it's not gonna work. And then Kenny Gainwell messing up
- 45:58Speaker 1: the Eagles first kickoff return. I don't know I'm gonna
- 46:01Speaker 1: give special teams. I don't know, I'll give them a bee.
- 46:04Speaker 1: I guess what do you give them?
- 46:06Speaker 2: Len?
- 46:08Speaker 4: I mean, Elliott was Elliott. He's, you know, as reliable
- 46:11Speaker 4: as you can ask for out of the kicking game.
- 46:15Speaker 4: You know, I thought they were decent when you know
- 46:18Speaker 4: the you know, the kickoffs. I don't even know what
- 46:22Speaker 4: to make of that. And that I have a film
- 46:24Speaker 4: that's gonna be an all year long kind of thing
- 46:26Speaker 4: where I'm just like looking at these kickoffs and going,
- 46:28Speaker 4: I don't know how do I grade this?
- 46:32Speaker 2: So I don't know. I thought they were Okay, I'll
- 46:35Speaker 2: give them a bee?
- 46:35Speaker 1: Okay, what do you give special teams?
- 46:37Speaker 3: Eric?
- 46:38Speaker 5: And I just provide you my my father's kickoff review
- 46:42Speaker 5: or like review, Yes.
- 46:44Speaker 2: I can't wait to hear this.
- 46:45Speaker 3: He's so, He's like you, Len, he didn't watch any
- 46:48Speaker 3: he had no idea they changed the kickoff rules in
- 46:50Speaker 3: the NFL. So you actually watched the game tonight. He's
- 46:53Speaker 3: seventy four and he just texts my brother and I
- 46:56Speaker 3: what the hell is this kickoff thing?
- 47:00Speaker 2: And I was like, you.
- 47:02Speaker 5: Speak for America. By the way, I don't know. This
- 47:06Speaker 5: is like watching The.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Homeless Guy when I lived in Philly on the corner
- 47:09Speaker 3: screaming and yelling about God, and he's he knows Jesus.
- 47:12Speaker 3: It's like I don't know what he's doing, but he
- 47:15Speaker 3: seems to know. The NFL seems to know something we don't.
- 47:18Speaker 3: I think it's stupid as shit. It nothing happens. Just
- 47:23Speaker 3: give them the ball to the twenty yard line and
- 47:24Speaker 3: just just push the game along, Like what is the point?
- 47:28Speaker 3: And then when it actually like comes into play they
- 47:31Speaker 3: wanted to like get away from like guys hit banging heads.
- 47:33Speaker 5: Yeah, well they're still crushing each other.
- 47:37Speaker 3: What the hell is the It's so stupid, like either
- 47:40Speaker 3: do the original one or just give the ball whatever
- 47:43Speaker 3: the special teams give an a because I just throw
- 47:47Speaker 3: the kickoffs out of the out the window and and
- 47:51Speaker 3: and Braden Man averaged fifty yards per punt and Elliott
- 47:55Speaker 3: hit hit all his field goals and extra points, so
- 47:57Speaker 3: a plus awesome job.
- 47:58Speaker 4: All right, Oh, wait, before you like to the first half, Like,
- 48:02Speaker 4: my wife was down here for that watching the game
- 48:05Speaker 4: with me, and she said, what what's happening with the kickoffs?
- 48:09Speaker 4: That I had to look her dead in the eye
- 48:10Speaker 4: and go, I genuinely don't know.
- 48:13Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 48:16Speaker 1: I love it.
- 48:18Speaker 5: That's that's the first rule of like just be just like, yeah,
- 48:21Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 48:22Speaker 1: That is I'm on a sports podcast. I don't know.
- 48:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 48:29Speaker 1: All right, let's move to the defense. Vic Fangio got
- 48:34Speaker 1: it right, Ah, sweet boy, got it right, all right,
- 48:38Speaker 1: Vic Fangio. I am going to give him a grade
- 48:41Speaker 1: of a bee this week. I don't know. Maybe maybe
- 48:44Speaker 1: I'm being a little harsh given what we saw, but
- 48:49Speaker 1: you know, you do give up twenty nine points. It
- 48:52Speaker 1: was a bizarre situation. You're in another country, the field
- 48:55Speaker 1: is weird. It's the first time a lot of these guys,
- 48:57Speaker 1: especially a young young second, trying to come together. Who
- 49:01Speaker 1: did I think prove a lot, but a terrible, terrible
- 49:05Speaker 1: pass rush. You've got a ton of holes one hundred
- 49:08Speaker 1: and sixty three yards on the ground you're giving up.
- 49:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna give him a bee. I don't know if
- 49:13Speaker 1: that's being too kind. I don't know if that's being
- 49:15Speaker 1: too you know, too generous, or being too hard on him.
- 49:19Speaker 1: I don't know, Eric, what do you think? What grade
- 49:21Speaker 1: do you give Fangio?
- 49:24Speaker 3: Well, considering last season, they had no scheme by the
- 49:27Speaker 3: end of the year, Matt Patricia disaster.
- 49:30Speaker 5: Yes, I did see what he was trying to do.
- 49:33Speaker 3: I think he recognized the speed he had at linebacker,
- 49:37Speaker 3: and his secondary was good, and you're playing against a
- 49:40Speaker 3: really dynamic offense. I thought I give a B plus
- 49:44Speaker 3: because you really I didn't Maybe he didn't even know
- 49:47Speaker 3: what the hell was gonna have in the first game
- 49:49Speaker 3: because they didn't play in the preseason. So I thought
- 49:51Speaker 3: both sides of the ball, the scheme was good and
- 49:53Speaker 3: it was just kind of like the players could could
- 49:56Speaker 3: facilitate it. But I thought the defensive scheme was smart
- 49:59Speaker 3: and and you still won the game. You're going to
- 50:02Speaker 3: give up points against this team. There's just no way
- 50:03Speaker 3: around it.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Right, all right, Lenn what do you give the defensive
- 50:07Speaker 1: coordinator this week?
- 50:09Speaker 2: B plus?
- 50:10Speaker 4: You know I mentioned it earlier with the beginning of
- 50:12Speaker 4: the game, with the way it started, that could have
- 50:15Speaker 4: gotten out of hand, yeah, really quick, and him and
- 50:19Speaker 4: his play calling in the defensive effort, they kept that
- 50:22Speaker 4: from happening. And like Eric said, you're going to give
- 50:25Speaker 4: up points to this team. They're a great offense. They're
- 50:28Speaker 4: they're great. You know, they've got great receiving, a good
- 50:32Speaker 4: young quarterback. You're going to give up points there. So
- 50:36Speaker 4: the fact that they won this game, the fact that
- 50:38Speaker 4: they weathered that initial storm, I think it's fair to
- 50:41Speaker 4: give them at least a B plus, And that's what
- 50:43Speaker 4: I'm giving them.
- 50:44Speaker 1: All right, And finally we'll move to the offense. Nick
- 50:46Speaker 1: Sirianni Kellen Moore, I am going to give them a
- 50:49Speaker 1: straight up BE as well. A lot of slop we
- 50:52Speaker 1: saw from this offense, specifically from Jalen Hurts at certain
- 50:56Speaker 1: times during the game, and we also saw some fantastic
- 50:58Speaker 1: play calling, some great great plays being run by the
- 51:02Speaker 1: offense too. So I'm gonna give an overall B could
- 51:05Speaker 1: be a B plus, but I'm gonna keep the offense
- 51:08Speaker 1: and defense at b's here. So, Lynn, what do you
- 51:10Speaker 1: think with regard to Kellen Moore, Nick Sirianni here.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Who does what?
- 51:17Speaker 1: Well? Now, Kellen Moore, Kellen Moore is calling the plays,
- 51:21Speaker 1: you know, and Nick Sirianni, he's kind of like, I
- 51:24Speaker 1: look at him as he's kind of taken that Mike
- 51:26Speaker 1: Tomlin role of kind of the hind kind of the
- 51:29Speaker 1: guy that groups them all together, you know, kind of
- 51:31Speaker 1: the cheerleader guy that groups them all together.
- 51:34Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, because Comparrison, Mike Tomlin is an awesome coach, but.
- 51:42Speaker 1: Like's not calling plays. That's what I made, you know.
- 51:46Speaker 4: So if Kellen Moore is calling the plays, and with
- 51:48Speaker 4: regards to Sirianni, I feel like the bob's from office space?
- 51:52Speaker 2: What is it you'd say you do here? So I
- 51:59Speaker 2: don't know.
- 51:59Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, listen, you know, hurts Ha's got some
- 52:03Speaker 4: things he's got to iron out. I don't think that's
- 52:06Speaker 4: on the play calling. I don't, you know, blame them
- 52:08Speaker 4: for that. You know, they they put up thirty four points.
- 52:12Speaker 1: It's a good point, I don't.
- 52:14Speaker 4: I mean, it's hard to really bitch about that. So
- 52:18Speaker 4: I'll give them play calling. I'll give them a b plus.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Okay, all right, Eric, are you thinking the same B
- 52:24Speaker 1: B plus with regard to the offensive coaching.
- 52:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, if I could go in complete, I
- 52:30Speaker 3: would because this game was such such a weird thing.
- 52:34Speaker 3: But they they put up four and ten yards and
- 52:38Speaker 3: thirty four points against a really good team, so I
- 52:41Speaker 3: can't complain too much. I think I want to see
- 52:45Speaker 3: Kellen Moore's his play calling and is in his scheme
- 52:50Speaker 3: with a team that's like like in week four, when
- 52:52Speaker 3: they kind of have their feet underneath them, maybe they'll
- 52:56Speaker 3: be a little more dynamic, a little more better performance.
- 52:59Speaker 3: But I guess for now just a be like kind
- 53:02Speaker 3: of being let's see what how it looks next week.
- 53:04Speaker 1: All right, very good. That's gonna do it for us, folks.
- 53:08Speaker 1: For this first Eagles postgame podcast show of this season.
- 53:11Speaker 1: And we've said a number of times on this platform
- 53:14Speaker 1: over the months. New defensive coordinator, new offensive coordinator, there's
- 53:18Speaker 1: gonna be some hiccups along the way. We certainly saw
- 53:20Speaker 1: it some here in Week one, and we're certainly gonna
- 53:23Speaker 1: see some as Eric was just saying, you know, over
- 53:26Speaker 1: the course of these next few weeks. Hopefully by week
- 53:28Speaker 1: four they get their feet under them and start seeing
- 53:31Speaker 1: a more consistency. But overall, it's a win, and a
- 53:36Speaker 1: win's a win. So Eric, you got anything else before
- 53:38Speaker 1: we hit out? Buddy?
- 53:39Speaker 5: No, it's one am, all right, all right? Anything else?
- 53:43Speaker 2: Len?
- 53:44Speaker 1: Do you have anything else? Buddy?
- 53:46Speaker 2: I just remember at the end of last season, we
- 53:48Speaker 2: were like, oh god, this whole back seven, this defense
- 53:51Speaker 2: seeds to be replaced.
- 53:52Speaker 4: And the back seven of the defense we don't really
- 53:55Speaker 4: seem to have a lot of complaints about, you know,
- 53:57Speaker 4: through one game.
- 53:58Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean that's good. And the NFL is
- 54:03Speaker 2: just between the field, you know.
- 54:06Speaker 4: Uh, you're in a stadium where their their their biggest rival.
- 54:11Speaker 4: Where is green and you're not supposed to wear green
- 54:13Speaker 4: in that stadium. So let's get two teams that wear
- 54:15Speaker 4: green and have them come down to Brazil. If I
- 54:19Speaker 4: could give the NFL grade, it would be an f.
- 54:22Speaker 2: There you go.
