- 0:00So unforgiveness is the desire for retribution, for payback.
- 0:05That's dangerous because a lot of times the opportunity for
- 0:10retribution is not there. It's toxic because we live our
- 0:14lives with the notion that that person owe me something, the
- 0:18person who hurt us owe me an apology or owe me something.
- 0:22And it's a debt that is often not paid by the person.
- 0:27That's why we need to just forgive the debt because they're
- 0:30not going to pay us anyway. A lot of times where where you
- 0:33find unforgiveness, the perpetrator is not willing, is
- 0:37not willing to fix the issue. So now what we have done with
- 0:42unforgiveness in that situation is we have incarcerated
- 0:46ourselves, We have locked ourselves in a cage.
- 0:49We build it, we lock it, we have the key and we are behind bars.
- 0:53That's what unforgiveness does. It's toxic, it's poisonous.
- 0:56It builds walls, not bridges.
