- 5:28morning shows. But I want to give him an opportunity to introduce hisself to
- 5:36those that may not know him. So the Florent's yours, thank you for
- 5:42having me. Thank change and Conditions and the people have been incarcerated here.
- 6:05There was a time when the penitentiary was just that it was, it was
- 6:12the penitential, and it was all about survival. There's been a cultural shifts,
- 6:26personal development, replantation. And I'm not talking about so much what the
- 6:35what the system does for us, because you know, there's a fair balls
- 6:41what they provide. But they they provide us what they do, provide us
- 6:46with the opportunity to better ourselves. And there's there's been a movement here to
- 6:55take advantage of them. Again. We don't have to worry about surviving,
- 7:00we don't have to worry about twenty something analysts, and we can focus on
- 7:08understanding who we are as individuals, understanding what on purpose and nurturing and cultivation.
- 7:20It's a process, it's a it's a long term process. I've been
- 7:25I've been across here twenty five years, and ten of those years on was
- 7:30survival mode and there was a two thousand and eight one authorly converted to to
- 7:35the space Christians Faith Catholic and I started the journey of self improvement, self
- 7:46development, self discovery. And then across there's our Creaginal a lot of programs,
- 7:55the partnership of volunteers and the first one was was called journ but Captain
- 8:01Bascans. That was the first collaboration we had with a few volunteers and we
- 8:07still facilitated the curriculum but to this day and the results have been pretty as
- 8:18you do, and there's there's a proof that this set of program works as
- 8:28far as when when you're contrasting with others. They did a study and the
- 8:37study that we had the participants that we had a control group and the participants
- 8:45there was a you say, maybe the two that would have a display and
- 8:52say fifteen that actually had minor discipline versus that major just plain from the control
- 8:58groups around twenty five in the Monarchist was early forty in the forties. So
- 9:03there's there's a practical change and that right. So what we did is we
- 9:11created opportunities to develop law programs. So we developed the colleague, Utiful Community,
- 9:22and we created the inflated retreats with the dialogue. So the six major
- 9:26revisions of the unions, Catechristianity plus Christianity, Repuscles, the Americans, Eastern
- 9:35Religion, Music and Buddhists, and Sebreterianes. We worked together to transform the
- 9:43negative culture of this human and we utilize the tools of the retreat is a
- 9:50free day retreat and a weekly dialogue class and another class called Compassion Integrity Training.
- 10:01So we've also noticed a shift in behaviors with the God participating in that.
- 10:09So when here comes spar Education Safe brings per education program and I'm a
- 10:16peer educator and I'm able to WelCom tho units and facility programs in the living
- 10:22areas, in the school, in the school else pal classroom, and I've
- 10:30created a curate to call campus culture. And the idea for campus culture is
- 10:37to transformed the culture this unit into a learning culture, you know, looking
- 10:43at this unit in our in our stay here as an opportunity to treat this
- 10:50like a university or sunary or any type of self development. So some progressive
- 11:00said that anybody can think of it, but it's not the major culture that
- 11:05technobably counts with the prison environment. So we've been doing that for for the
- 11:13campus coast. We've been doing this probles a year and a half and at
- 11:16this moment we're in every customer level. So we have a whole section administrative
- 11:24segregation where these guys are housed twenty four hours a day in the single in
- 11:30the single men cell and these are mental health divergent program participants that they're working
- 11:39their way back into the general population. And we've been there for the last
- 11:45three weeks and they've already knowniced aplastic shape the behavior. There's six different sections
- 11:58each one of the houses fourteen and we're in one specific session and that specific
- 12:03session everything has gone down as far as disciplinary use of for us and major
- 12:07disruptions. So they've been tracking this for the last few weeks. Guess is
- 12:13that a nicer fagigation. Now we're also in close custody and these guys are
- 12:20in their cells, but they're fellies and they're there for in twenty four hours
- 12:24a day. As long as they're in that type of custody, and we've
- 12:28been there for a year and a half. That tells our first place where
- 12:33we launched the program. So and yeah, we also show that the disciplineary
- 12:46the use of force disruptions also brought there and that's why we've been this work.
- 12:58Received a provot to to start a soction and meeting custody and this is
- 13:07where they're they're in the cells with the SEMy but they have limited day room
- 13:15activity and recreation. Yeah mh. So we just started there and we're going
- 13:26to be able to take them into a so I performing eight man section.
- 13:41Thirty five actually signed up for the program and we're going to launch that in
- 13:46about two weeks after which is one room custody. When we have we've had
- 13:52their room classes to the whole for the minimum custody. E sas for details,
- 14:05and these are smaller groups, maybe four to six. And what we
- 14:11did is we select to certain people of these groups un once they graduated,
- 14:15and we requested that they would consider being mentors. And those who chose to
- 14:20be mentors, we now take them to the classroom study in the Education Department
- 14:26and we trained them on the curriculum. As president the curriculum, I'm working
- 14:28with small groups and as far as house presented out of these small group discussions,
- 14:33as I have classroom presentations. It's really like a book, a book
- 14:39camp for a mentor. And do you have programs that you have developed to
- 14:46try to help you all rehabilitate yourselves? Not. I created the campus culture
- 14:58about two years ago and it was implemented. I was I was after crazy.
- 15:05I was fortunate enough to be hired onto the education team and and because
- 15:11of the lock drown of Union, it was it was that film. It's
- 15:26really working and I'm not saying is that crazy m hm right now? Oh
- 15:35on on a weekly basis, on a weekly business and some are m hm
- 15:45and versell. So we we had different ways of presenting him facilitation. We
- 15:48had total deliverances where oh we take them to multi purpose room and we feel
- 16:03in the class from the study, or we can do it in the day
- 16:07room, the small group, maybe four the department, so we can both
- 16:17the curriculum into into you know, uh the environment. Right. I could
- 16:22just be one on one. I mean I could just say you're there with
- 16:25anybody who just have one on one association. And that's the opportunity that exists
- 16:32to location here ye as as today. So for a lot of guys,
- 16:41well they have you know espe'son when you can when you talk about mental health,
- 16:49that's seducation. Well, he's always the church, depending where there are,
- 16:57it's sometimes a kind of a class here and there. But for the
- 17:02consolers major let's see and we're able to uh Broadway and really work as far
- 17:18as we care to to get take greatly environment. It's more beneficial funder One
- 17:30of the things that too. If you start looking up and they're they're in
- 17:41a meeting custody international security person in the middle of nowhere. It doesn't get
- 17:48any social letter, doesn't get the lower than that. So I get to
- 17:55say that, right, and they're there. They're on ready for change,
- 18:03right, and we sall bes you know to surf. I first learnt sixty
- 18:10a week. These are the telock I don't come back to seven and it's
- 18:18it's constant. And these guys are young there, young man, you know,
- 18:26they don't they don't know they're not They don't really come up to it,
- 18:30and I don't really have a situation, right, but they want something
- 18:36better for themselves, right, and that they want a second chance. You
- 18:41got to understand a lot of these kids, a lot of these kids are
- 18:45getting locked up when they're fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, and statistics have proven
- 18:52that these babies don't know what they're doing. You know, they they may
- 18:55be walking around doing grown up crime, but they they cannot conceptualize and truly
- 19:03understand and rationalize what they have done. And y'all providing these programs, you
- 19:12know, a lot of these kids fall into the environments that they fall into
- 19:18because they don't have an identity. They don't know who they are, and
- 19:22they're trying to find something to relate to, something to identify to, somebody
- 19:26that will accept them, somebody that would love them. So that's how a
- 19:30lot of them end up where they are. But when you don't have rehabilitation,
- 19:37because you were talking about the state of Texas that does not believe in
- 19:41rehabilitation, They don't believe that people can be rehabilitated, that you deserve a
- 19:48second chance, or that you should have a second chance. So for you
- 19:52guys doing this and creating this environment for yourselves, creating something that they will
- 20:00not create for you. Have y'all had any pushback from them or have they
- 20:06been very acceptive of this as far as the administration as you have at this
- 20:12time that they're very supportive what we're doing because they see that, they see
- 20:17the numbers. And that's one thing that I keep on strusting to the guys.
- 20:22You know, they're not doing this. They're not allowing us to do
- 20:23this because they'd like us. They're not allowing us to do this because they
- 20:26have they have Uh, we just have a good setting allowing us to do
- 20:37because the numbers show that it works. So we can show that if we
- 20:42do this in one section works disciplinary is down, you supposs down, major
- 20:48disruptions are down. Right, even two set of attempts are done. Those
- 20:53those are those adventur issues here. If we can show these works or they
- 21:00want more of it. Right. So we had talked to the Lord about
- 21:04two days ago about the medium custody offenders and part desires to start a section
- 21:11over there, and there was the cool world immediate guest, you can do
- 21:18it, and there was also more, well, maybe we could do something
- 21:26a section. There's six medium custody sections, so if we could do one
- 21:30section a day, right, one on Monday, one on Tuesday, except
- 21:36a Monday, so Saturday, and we can start you know that gradual in
- 21:45that culture one that put a color to went to one section and he was
- 21:52just asking if the guys would be interested in something like this, and again
- 21:56thirty five and forty eight signed up for it. So that's how holly these
- 22:00guys are. Okay, and the rest of the guys and the other sections
- 22:04are saying, hey, why can we have the program? Okay, so
- 22:08we have to to know. Hey, well, this is a pilot program
- 22:11and soon Gens give us a couple of months to the shore of the works
- 22:15and then we'll batch up to all these different sections. Also another word,
- 22:19which is in charge of the inventory segregation. He asked us. We have
- 22:26one session and the mental Health Diversion program out of the m HM and we
- 22:32work we're working with the University of Texas Medical Branch, the psychologe department,
- 22:36and and they want us, they want us to look at starting to add
- 22:41another section. So well, there's there's there's a there's this back. Okay,
- 22:49here's back. As far as disappoint that we need to get things time,
- 22:56there hasn't been anything really that they they've rejected. As far as when
- 23:02we need something resources, the majority of our little good anything from the state,
- 23:10you know, Tenison doesn't provide us with anything. We have a poorer
- 23:14volunteers that are out there in the world and help support us with folders and
- 23:18paper and pencils and and the workbooks. So when we need something, they
- 23:27tell them at us, you know, uh, give us suit there we
- 23:36be distributed as yeah. Uh. And that's that's a lot of differences.
- 23:44But I don't think of listener. There's there's a move throughout the whole system.
- 23:48They talked about life coaching and the old ministry, and we have just
- 23:55constly and good there constant uh being I mean different areas within the system.
- 24:07We have a lot of coaches, field ministers and peerage teachers here on district.
- 24:11Uh. And I want to speak from perit ediction s because we tend
- 24:15to do Yeah, we tend to do a lot as far as in the
- 24:21in the buildings, in the population. But there is there is a lot
- 24:26of support. Uh. We can what what's your administration? H. I
- 24:32don't think that makes me you see, here's the deal with that. There's
- 24:36a lot of pressure right now. But the system is still a lot of
- 24:42pressure and the majority of that pressure is coming from the shortest for staff shortness.
- 24:49They can't imagine. It's not that they don't they don't want to provide
- 24:53education here. They can't get the teachers for some reason. We're in the
- 24:56pull nowhere. Nobody wants to drive this way. So we haven't had an
- 25:03education for I think for over a year we have had no education once whatever,
- 25:08Uh, we google it's gonna be coming in to do a high school
- 25:15high school diploma. I think it's gonna start in January. So it's not
- 25:22that it's not that they won't do it. I can't have the money to
- 25:25do it. They still have the staff, right, the services, security,
- 25:32and this is a system line. So there's a lot of pressure to
- 25:36do something and a lot of times they depend on us to fill the gaps.
- 25:44So what we've done is we try to fill that gap as far as
- 25:48the education repmitation, especially for the guys who don't receive anything on the B
- 25:52side. So yeah, well we're trying to do right now, especially when
- 26:00you talk about the free texting campaign. What we're trying to do is changing
- 26:04the enronment that we can actually have boots on the grounds and support the efforts
- 26:12that you guys are taken outside. So if you have an organization focusing on
- 26:18all parties, the laws for the laws of parties, change laws for a
- 26:22second hluck, change laws for a good time part time, build a support
- 26:29for them. When the House Joint Resolution the fifty three regarding that attend your
- 26:33art wreath, so this is a court for time reduction, all these different
- 26:40efforts trying to help relieve the pleasure. Okay, what we're doing is we're
- 26:48doing our part right, We're doing our part and trying to develop the men
- 26:56that society demands us to be, one of the men that our family needs
- 27:00us to be right, so that we can go back down into the world
- 27:06and be successful. I said, I've said for many years that for many
- 27:12for more many years, vision was like a social cancer where you come in,
- 27:18you know how the people are creementally, you go on and you create
- 27:21you use about this new dolledge streets. Well, now we have the ability
- 27:27to think that right, being a social cancer to a cure. Right,
- 27:33Well, we can go out and teach these youngsters up there in the world.
- 27:37You know, how do you know we've we've been there, we've done
- 27:40that. Uh, let's show you something different, Okay, So because that's
- 27:47what that that's that's the movement that's happening right here. And we've had a
- 27:49class today and this is what I officially called the brocalhead class. These are
- 27:56guys that are just uh just knucklehead is just they like to fight, they
- 28:03like to you know, they're into a lot of different things. And uh,
- 28:07you know, and when I say I go to these sessions, they
- 28:11have a class and the pay rook. But there's other guys that are not
- 28:14part of them. I'm part of the class and you know I have I
- 28:17still have relationships with them. So I go and ask to me, would
- 28:19you like to be probs here? So you know, we convinced to gooking
- 28:26with a little for the last two months. And you know, those guys
- 28:32there had science forms. This is out here a better life to understand who
- 28:44really are as an individual, where they want to go in life and and
- 28:48what a way of getting from here. And it was very it was it
- 28:55was a very special day today because when when when I sat there and I
- 29:00said, look, you know what we could you know for such you know,
- 29:07we could go here and go through the information. So there's there's could
- 29:11be a time where a hard needs to speak, when we need to express
- 29:15how this information is being absorbed and expressed in our minds. So I said,
- 29:22I'm going to sit back and I'm just gonna ask you guys to share
- 29:25something that you feel less hopeful. And we lefted four hours four hours share
- 29:33everyone sort of you know, no matter if they you know, they don't
- 29:37they don't usually stand up and speak in front of people and be shared very
- 29:45meaningful, good college of desires and commitment to reach. And this is this
- 29:57is what I tell the guy. What you can desire good thing. No,
- 30:02you want, but until you have a commitment to living that out and
- 30:06accomplish it it, don't you just goes hunter, I must go a little
- 30:12guy, but I would. I desire big muscles, but until I commit
- 30:18to working out that's what happened. I can desire you all one, but
- 30:22I have to have to commit to the merchant. I have to commit to
- 30:25waking up if you have to commit to a proper guy, and I have
- 30:27to commit through all these different things to get these muscles. Well, the
- 30:33same thing is when you want, when you want to live in protective line,
- 30:36you want to succeed. You know, how do you succeed? Where
- 30:38is what is that that goal? Right? Wherever you need to do to
- 30:44get? And this these are things that these guys are just running. Okay,
- 30:49several of those guys have done twenty plus years. A handful of guys,
- 30:56I feel like five to six have lifestents. One guy has to strike
- 31:03my syns and he's hopeful as that means something, especially if I'm worrying come
- 31:14true. Where it comes from as far as his in background, as far
- 31:19as his affiliations. I mean a lot of those guys are affiliated, but
- 31:26they're learning who their identity is so that they can detatch away from those affiliations.
- 31:33Until we understand who very hard who what the identity is, they're going
- 31:41to allow somebody else to give them an identity. We will create the identity.
- 31:48What is going to be learns. So what we do is we help
- 31:55of understanding what your identity is discovery. I used the analogy of athletics.
- 32:06YEA, tell you very briefly. Uh, so say we help the monderstand
- 32:10the athentics, the desire athletics and uh there's something I say they want to
- 32:17to to look into. So that's the discovery part. And then we have
- 32:23to direct to football, baseball, basketball, soft because there's probably different propetics.
- 32:31So we haven't understand football when we have to explore the position to say
- 32:38football, so you want to get Then we have to understand the foundation ideas
- 32:44need to be successful, and then we have to be the company. So
- 32:49it's a process and uh, it's a good pross and he's gonna really really
- 32:54give me into it. Well, I want to apply to you guys for
- 32:59the work that you all are doing and in the turnaround the change that's I'm
- 33:06coming and I'm expecting to hear more about it. Keep me updated on the
- 33:10progress and definitely will bring you back on and allow you to continue to share
- 33:16the progress. Hopefully this will help t d c J to see that rehabilitation
- 33:23is possible and some of these congresspeople and these representatives and these people that have
- 33:31the power to change these laws can change some of these laws. I applaud
- 33:38them for what they are doing. That was one of the guys that's in
- 33:45Connelly in Texas. We're gonna have another young guy that's gonna call in.
- 33:52It's gonna share a little bit about history, y'all. I take these opportunities
- 33:55because these are some people that I'm working with and while I'm waiting for this
- 34:00next call to come in. If you're out there and you have words of
- 34:07inspiration, whether they are affirmations, letters that you can write, poems,
- 34:13whatever, y'all, we are looking for women that would like to pour into
- 34:17some of these women that are incarcerated within the TDCJ. And if you have
- 34:22time, I want y'all to go over to the magazine page and flip through
- 34:27it and read that article that is in there about that women prison. I've
- 34:31had individuals reach out to me and talk about the stench, the dirtiness,
- 34:37and just so much and how nasty the guards are to them, and how
- 34:43they do not allow them to clean, and how they keep things from them.
- 34:49And people will say this does not happen, but it does. Like
- 34:53I'm in a class and I'm writing a paper and we had to submit our
- 34:58rough drafts through a discussion board. So my classmates are giving me their opinions
- 35:09and their thoughts, and a lot of them don't believe that this is actually
- 35:13happening. And I'm telling them, look, go to YouTube, to my
- 35:17YouTube page and hear these interviews. It's not nothing that I'm making up.
- 35:22And then not only that, you can go to other newspapers and news articles
- 35:29and YouTube google corruption in Texas and you'll be surprised at what you see.
- 35:36And then from people that are not even incarcerated. I just had a young
- 35:42man that just beating the case. They were trying to put him in prison.
- 35:47But a video, a police body cam, a thirteen second police body
- 35:57cam, help this man with his freedom. When they wanted to offer him
- 36:00twenty five to life for something that they tried to plot against him to do
- 36:07nothing that nobody told me. I heard it. This came straight from the
- 36:10guy that it happened to y'all. And it's sad. It's sad that this
- 36:15is what's happening to us. And I've come to realize in Texas, the
- 36:22majority of other people that are in prison are Mexicans and African Americans that you
- 36:29don't hardly see any Caucasians in prison. And the reason why they stereotyped them
- 36:36Mexicans overrunning the prisons in Texas. Why because half of them cannot speak English,
- 36:45half of them don't understand American laws. And it's so much. And
- 36:50they tried the police officers and the government officials in Texas. Or they are
- 36:58extorting money from these people that are taking all of their property, they're taking
- 37:01their money out the bank. They are doing stuff to them that just is
- 37:07not acceptable. And some of these cases, you listen to these cases,
- 37:12if they were in another state, these people wouldn't even be locked up.
- 37:15You know. I listened to a young guy's case the other day and he
- 37:22was he's a young guy been locked up since he was seventeen. It's forty
- 37:27four years old. Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome, y'all. My
- 37:32next guest is on how are you hi? How are you okay? Man?
- 37:45So if you would, would you introduce yourself please? Yes, my
- 37:50name is mister Cornell, coming man, and i'm here had the John become
- 37:55a unit man, I'm gonna fifty four years Beer County, Texas. You
- 38:02say one hundred and fifty four years. How do one get one hundred and
- 38:07fifty four years? Well, ma'am. During the Texas criminal justice system,
- 38:14ma'am, we have what we call a stacked center's process down here. And
- 38:20because of that, ma'am, if you get charged with two offenses, the
- 38:23state of Texas can stack them on top of each other. And with that
- 38:27being said, they're add up the number of years you have. And because
- 38:30of that, ma'am, that's how much your time is. So I got
- 38:36a fifty five and a ninety nine running consecutive and they stacked. So how
- 38:40much of that would you actually have to serve? Wow, that's a good
- 38:45question, ma'am. Okay, depending on what type of legislation you're under.
- 38:51Okay. I started in nineteen ninety two, so I was under the one
- 38:54foot law and because of that, I had to do on a nun eppravated
- 39:00semis I had to do fifteen years before aggravated Simmons, I had to do
- 39:06thirty years right, so I got thirty three back years served already, ma'am
- 39:09on myself. Wow, that's a lot of time. And if you would
- 39:22share a little bit about your case, okay, ma'am. Well, my
- 39:27situation is the fact that I was charged with a murder case that I did
- 39:30not commit, and it's under the Texas law party situation, and what is
- 39:35happening is that proud of my trial, little did I know the criminal investigators
- 39:40had falsified documents to make me a party to the murder. You know,
- 39:45because of that. When I went to trial, a jury convicted me for
- 39:51the murder. But after my trial, they fought to buy documents to send
- 39:54to me to challenge the conviction because all the evidence in the case was fultified
- 40:00and fabricated. So with that being said, ma'am, I have been using
- 40:05fultified government documents to challenge my conviction and since then everything in my case has
- 40:10been denying. And with that being said, I have been completely shut out
- 40:14of the Texas criminal justice system from challenging my conviction. So as of right
- 40:20now, ma'am, I was forced to try to get all of the documents
- 40:23to prove that I'm nicer. Like I said, it's been hard because of
- 40:28the way our structure is down here in Texas. We have we don't have
- 40:30no support, we don't have no help down here. So you know,
- 40:34our criminal justice system has shut us out. And how is it possible for
- 40:40a criminal justice system to shut you out? How is that possible for that
- 40:45person that don't know anything about the justice system, How is it possible to
- 40:50get shut out? Okay? We have what we call anipotism man. Okay,
- 40:55in my particular, in any particular count here in the state of Texas,
- 41:00anywhere, ma'am. If my judge become the district attorney, and my
- 41:05district attorney become the judge, and the judge and my case become the Court
- 41:09of Appeals judge, and my judge that judge goes to the Court of Criminal
- 41:14Appeals. Anybody who's convicted under under their jurisdiction, ma'am, they are classified
- 41:20as a political prisoner. Why because everything that's following, your case has got
- 41:24to where a tape on it, and these are the only individuals who will
- 41:29see your case. Therefore, you will not get any release on your case.
- 41:34So how is that possible? How is that possible? Wouldn't that in
- 41:38normal or what we call normal, wouldn't that be a conflict of interest?
- 41:45Well, ma'am, you know what, that's a good question you asked that.
- 41:49Yes, ma'am, he is a conflict of interest because in my particular
- 41:53situation, little did I know, and this is happening all over the state
- 41:57of Texas and elsewhere. My attorney for the sign to me father judge who
- 42:01became the district attorney. My attorney is a former assistant district attorney from the
- 42:07same clipm. So with that being said, now, like I said,
- 42:10anything that I followed, they are the only one who get to see it.
- 42:15So what they're doing is put a red taste on that bill to keep
- 42:19you in the prison system, to make sure that you would never have overturn
- 42:23that case. But how is that possible? How how can these people continue
- 42:30to do that? If it if it's a conflict the interest, if if
- 42:35I was to to to if I worked for Wendy's and I wanted to put
- 42:45create get the Big Mac sauce and put on the Wendy's burger. That would
- 42:52be a conflict of interest. I couldn't go over to Wendy's. I couldn't
- 42:58go over to Big Mac, I means and get their their sauce and come
- 43:02back to Windys and put it on their sandwich. That that that would be
- 43:06a conflict of interest as this because these are two people that are competing against
- 43:10each other, and I couldn't work for one and work for the other and
- 43:14trying to comingo their stuff. That that that's a that's a conflicted interest.
- 43:20So who governs? So what happens when something like this happens. Shouldn't these
- 43:27people excuse themselves or pass these these these these resolutions off to somebody else to
- 43:32make a decision on, or these cases off to someone else to make a
- 43:36decision on. Okay, yes, ma'am, okay, that's true. But
- 43:40here in Texas we have what we call the State Law of Texas and the
- 43:45Conduct Commission of Office that investigate judges. So if we follow complaint against our
- 43:52attorneys, it comes to the same people who they hang out with magnifism,
- 43:57their friends and they colleague stuff like that. So any complaint that we found
- 44:01is going to be denied anyway. That's what they call exhausting our remedies.
- 44:07We have to follow with them to exhaust the remedy. True enough that the
- 44:09conflict adventures. But when we come back denied, nom that just keeps us
- 44:14from you know, getting our cases overturned. We have to go to the
- 44:16next step and the next step and the next step, and all of these
- 44:21steps add up to years and years and years in prison now, so just
- 44:24years and years that these people can just set y'all off and just sit there
- 44:29and twitter their thumbs and still make this money out of y'all and all of
- 44:34this stuff. Like because because from my understanding, I'm coming to realize a
- 44:38lot of stuff about the state of Texas. You know, I find it
- 44:44real strange that prisoners can get CDLs, they can get certified as master mechanics,
- 44:55they can get certified in these various jobs as if they was real people,
- 45:02like real free body people out in the free world, and these people
- 45:07can actually leave the prison and go do these jobs like they actually have prisoners
- 45:13out doing deliveries and out doing stuff, but they don't even get paid for
- 45:19it. So to me, I feel like these people are truly taking advantage
- 45:27of the system, and they are doing all of this so that they can
- 45:31get free labor, so that they can run these multi million dollar corporations and
- 45:37they can do all this this underhanded stuff, And to me, I just
- 45:45feel like it's just another form of slavery. It just keep pushing the I
- 45:52just don't get it. But go ahead. The factory, the license plate
- 46:01factory, and the machine is the only machine here in the state of Texas
- 46:05that it's sitting in the Prinson system. And we are the ones who make
- 46:08the license plates. We are the ones who make the tag every day,
- 46:14millions and millions of dollars of tags and license plates every day free of charge.
- 46:17We are the ones who's making the so that they sell in the free
- 46:21world. We are the ones who's making key shirts. Now, we are
- 46:24the ones making mostly all of the products now that's being sold, and it's
- 46:29for free. Okay, here in the state of Tekes, we're supposed to
- 46:31be getting good the time now, but here's what happened. They took away
- 46:36our good time and then gave the coroll Board the power to consider whether or
- 46:40not they should grandpar deny us Pole as a means of our good time to
- 46:45make sure that we the rehabilitator or not well if we all rehabilitated. The
- 46:50Coroll Board numbers are also forming a district attorneys and judges and lawyers. They
- 46:55set us off time and time and time and time again. It's up to
- 47:00fifteen set off that some guys have gotten now and we have completed every program.
- 47:05We've done everything in our powlem to try to make corole. But we
- 47:08can't make prole here in the state of Texas because we are governed by an
- 47:13individual, not system. So that's our problem here in the state of Texas
- 47:19man, and nobody is doing nothing about it. Our governor won't grant us
- 47:22anything. You study fifty nine everything that has to do with the trigger systems
- 47:27to roll, well, he's corrupt. I mean he's corrupt. You talk
- 47:32about the governor Greg Abbott, I mean I google these people and if those
- 47:39that are tune in those that follow. If you go over to the magazine
- 47:44and flip through the magazine, you'll see an article in there. You will
- 47:49see pictures off him Patrick Impact. If you google them, it comes up
- 47:57corruption. How can you google people and it comes corruption and they still are
- 48:02running a state, They're still in charge of stuff, and you know that
- 48:07there is non corruption. You know that these people are getting some type of
- 48:15payback or some type of incentitive to be connected to this. Who is these
- 48:22people that are benefiting from all of this money that's being produced from prisoners.
- 48:28Who is making the money. Because from my understanding, when when y'all go
- 48:32to these different jobs, y'all have to sign time cards, y'all have to
- 48:37sign time sheets, y'all got to lock your work hours. You have to
- 48:40do all this stuff so that they can track all this so somebody is getting
- 48:45in there again. If you always follow the money trail, you can find
- 48:51out where all the corruption is. When you follow the money trail, you'll
- 48:55find out who family is really running these businesses. Because I can guarantee you
- 49:00the governor, some of these these these officials, these people that are in
- 49:06high places have some type of keepbacks coming from all of these businesses that are
- 49:13being ran through the TDC jack. And that's why I keep saying, the
- 49:19Department of Justice need to come in and they need to start with the governor
- 49:23and do a clean sweep and go through all the records and go through everything,
- 49:29across every T and dot every I until they get to the bottom of
- 49:32these last three to four decades, not years, But we're talking about decades
- 49:38of corruption that have taken place in the state of Texas. Y'all. It's
- 49:44ridiculous. You got a picture it said the gop app app app Abbot,
- 49:53Paxton and Patrick. That show your lieutenant governor, your governor, and your
- 50:00your attorney general. These are people that control that control Texas and all of
- 50:07them are corrupt. And they have turned the parole board into a board that
- 50:14is governed by how they feel. If they feel like you're not gonna,
- 50:21you not gonna. However they feel is what happens. They may be having
- 50:24a bad day and you come before them and and you look at them wrong.
- 50:29They may say no, they deny you. They offset you. You
- 50:31gotta be offset for seven years. You gotta be offset for this. How
- 50:36can so much power lay in these people hands? And we talk about them
- 50:42blocking out the number, why they get who authorized them to block out the
- 50:47number? Because the number, the number that they place on your parole thing,
- 50:55it tells you where you are, wherever you are, So it's supposed
- 51:00to tell where if you need to go to this class, if you need
- 51:05to do this. It's supposed to help with the progress of you coming out
- 51:09and coming home. But they block it out so they don't you don't even
- 51:14know what your progress is. You're not able to check on it's supposed to
- 51:16This is supposed to be public records. Anybody's supposed to be able to go
- 51:21and see what your progress is, what are you doing, how you rehabilitate.
- 51:25Now, that's how you hold people accountable. That's how you make these
- 51:30people be transparent when you see what's going on. Not only that, not
- 51:37only do it help the parole board, but it helped those that are in
- 51:42the administration at these facilities. And then it helped the family members to see
- 51:47what they how they family member is progressing and coming home, and what they
- 51:53can do to encourage their family member to do what they need to do so
- 51:57that they can come home. But Texas don't believe in rehabilitation, so they
- 52:04hide out all of this so that people don't know what's going on. And
- 52:08when stuff is being hid, it just opened up room for corruption. It
- 52:14just opened up room for people to do what they want to do and not
- 52:17be subject to any type of punishment. These people can do what they want
- 52:24to do if you look at it, and I was telling somebody today,
- 52:30if you look at it and you look at the pattern, you look at
- 52:35the pattern that's being possessed. You hear people say that they never get into
- 52:39any trouble. They don't have no disciplinary action. They've completed all the courses
- 52:45that they've offered. They have degree after degree after three, they got their
- 52:50diploma, they got they ged, they got whatever they needed to get.
- 52:54It's nothing f left for a lot of these people to get. You're talking
- 52:59about some of these people have done twenty five thirty plus years, so it's
- 53:04nothing else for them to get. But they constantly setting them off. They're
- 53:08constantly saying this and saying that because they don't get in in trouble. They
- 53:13say that manipulating the system. How are you manipulating the system when you not
- 53:16getting in trouble because you want to one day come home, You get in
- 53:22disciplinary trouble, you get in disciplinary action, come up and you have to
- 53:27you get put in segregation, you get put in this, you get put
- 53:30and then they add more time on. So if you know they gonna do
- 53:34that, why would you get in trouble. The objective is to come home.
- 53:38The objective is to change. The objective is to not be the same
- 53:44person that you was when you went in there. It's come out to be
- 53:52a productive citizen, change to come out different. But they want you to
- 53:59come and you weren't in because that is the thing that I'm hearing. They're
- 54:02teaching you how to be a better criminal when people are trying to rehabilitate themselves.
- 54:09And then a lot of these people didn't have the opportunity to attend a
- 54:14lot of the programs because they cut all the stuff out because they can't keep
- 54:19nobody hired. Now, it's a lot and we need people that will speak
- 54:25up and will will stand up for these people that are on the inside,
- 54:30because there are a lot of people that are behind prison while in places that
- 54:37they don't have family member there, Like I'm not in Texas, but I
- 54:43go to bat for those people in Texas. Because it was brought to my
- 54:45attention, y'all. I just had today to write a letter to the the
- 54:52executive director because one of the inmates complained about the warden and all these people
- 55:00laughing at him because he wanted bleach to clean with and wanted some wanted to
- 55:06clean his area and to keep his area clean, like what is wrong with
- 55:09that? And he said, for weeks they had been brushing him off and
- 55:14telling them no, and laughing at them and doing all kinds of horrible things
- 55:17to him. So me, y'all know, I get that pen out,
- 55:23and I get the writing, and I come up with a letter, and
- 55:24I sent that letter off, and he sent me a letter back, thanking
- 55:29me for sending that letter off. And he got some bleaching, He got
- 55:32some water to a bucket to put some water in so he can clean.
- 55:38And y'all, sometimes that's all they need. That's all they need. Again,
- 55:45Cornell, you know how passionate I am about this, So sometime I
- 55:49just just take over. But I'm gonna turn it back over to you.
- 55:52And if there's anything, I know we getting ready to close. Is there
- 55:57anything that you would like to say to the listeners, those that are tuned
- 56:01in to those that were here to replay about what you have going on and
- 56:07how y'all are trying to get some of these things changed so that y'all that
- 56:10have been incarcerated over twenty thirty years can come home. Well, yes,
- 56:16ma'am. I would like to point out, ma'am to the fact that you
- 56:20know, I am a part of a Free Texas campaign program man, and
- 56:23this Free Texas campaign program man has been addressing the corruption and the criminal justice
- 56:30system, the TDCJ, the parole board now and it's given some traction.
- 56:36Just recently, ma'am, I got a thumbs up from a mister carl O'shaman,
- 56:39which is a state representative regard of the fact that he has too been
- 56:44listening and reviewing issues about the Free Texas campaign man. So with that,
- 56:49man said, if the public is listening to this, we need any support
- 56:52that y'all can give us in order to get these people to listen to what
- 56:55you people are saying out there in the world, to get some type of
- 57:00sickness to sign or petition sign to they seed people do their job. We
- 57:04need to reform our criminal justice system. We need to beat some of our
- 57:07whole parole board system. We need to take these lawyers and judges and dn's
- 57:12and off our parole board system because we can't get a bread champion like that,
- 57:16no way and no way. So we'll just being said. If anybody
- 57:21is listening, we hope and pray to talk, can sign petitions or whatever
- 57:23y'all can to deal a part of the free Texting campaign and to come but
- 57:29get some type of support, some type of voice. That's what we need,
- 57:32ma'am really, because right now the pritical system is so short. A
- 57:36staff man, we don't get no recreation. We bad to get food.
- 57:38They giving us food loaf. A food loaf is just a bunch of mixed
- 57:43food mixed up in a grinder and just put into a corn bridge fashion with
- 57:49a piece of cheese. Ma'am. The fact that we can't even walk the
- 57:52child to go eat, so this is really bad. Okay, So ma'am,
- 57:55that's anything that y'all gonna do to help us, ma'am out there in
- 57:59the world clean please help us because we need it. That's that's that's that's
- 58:04what we're trying to say, man, please help us. We need that.
- 58:08Well. I definitely I thank you and I'm definitely doing what I can
- 58:15out here as one of the co founders for the Free Texas campaign. And
- 58:20y'allo was on earlier and he was talking about a lot of the things that
- 58:24you guys are doing behind the wall as far as self development and identity and
- 58:34trying to rehabilitate yourself so that you guys can come out and be productive citizens
- 58:39and be the men that God has called you to. That was one of
- 58:44the things that he talked about. So I'm definitely I'm excited about what God
- 58:50is doing and how he's moving through the Free Textes campaign, and I'm just
- 58:52excited to be a part of it. But all I can say is just
- 58:58keep your head up, keep doing what you guys are doing behind the walls,
- 59:01and I'm gonna keep doing what I'm doing out here on the outside.
- 59:05And as we can continue to develop and pull this Free Texas campaign together,
- 59:10as people join forces with us around around the globe, because it's getting bigger
- 59:15than just here in South Carolina and in Texas. I said that we have
- 59:22people that are reaching out from different areas wanting to join forces and want to
- 59:25be a part because what is happening in Texas is happening in other places and
- 59:30it's sad. It is sad, and it is time for change and and
- 59:37and in order for change to come, we got to be the change that
- 59:40we desired to see. So with that being said, again, thank you
- 59:45for being a voice, and thank you for stopping by the Crew podcast and
- 59:52allowing me to share your story. I pray that you have a wonderful rest
- 59:57of your evening. Despite and sit you auation, just stay strong and keep
- 1:00:07pressing. Again, I want to thank you guys for tuning in and being
- 1:00:10a part of this broadcast. If there's anything that has been shared on tonight
- 1:00:15that has been an inspiration, encouraging, or if you would just like to
- 1:00:19be a voice or like to be a part of what we're doing, please
- 1:00:22reach out. Please follow the Free Texas campaign. We're on Facebook, We're
- 1:00:27on YouTube, U forty two, and a lot of the podcast platforms as
- 1:00:34well, so get connected. We have a petition floating around. I think
- 1:00:42it is included in this description of the podcast, so if y'all can take
- 1:00:47time to sign the the petition and shared in your circle. Again, I
- 1:00:54want to thank you guys for tuning in on tonight. I pray that your
- 1:00:59evening it's blessed what you can see in the natural. Again, I thank
