  SPEAKER_03: I'm not a huge music reactor.
• 1:22
SPEAKER_03: If someone said to me, give me your reaction to listen to this music, you'd see a lot of me sitting still.

• 2:07
SPEAKER_03: See, that's when we need the explete button, but you seem to have removed my sound effect privileges.
• 2:11
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I've deleted a lot of those things.
• 2:12
  SPEAKER_03: But anyway, that's fine.

  SPEAKER_03: All right.
• 2:20
SPEAKER_03: Sam, uh, for something new, my first song is called Something New.
• 2:23
  SPEAKER_03: Sick.
• 2:23
  SPEAKER_03: It's by Boo Seeker.
• 2:25
SPEAKER_03: Uh, and this one is such a jam.
• 2:26
SPEAKER_03: It's a little bit, a little bit dance, a little bit like Panel, like baby era panel.
• 2:31
SPEAKER_03: Um, meets like a like one of the good tracks from like a late era Coldplay album.
• 2:36
  SPEAKER_03: Really fun, really vibey.
• 2:38
SPEAKER_03: Um, bit of dance going on.
• 2:39
SPEAKER_03: I think they've got some, they've got they're teasing something big and uh coming up from them.
• 2:44
SPEAKER_03: So I'm very excited to see what that leads to.

SPEAKER_03: But yeah, this is something new by Boo Seeker.
• 2:48
  SPEAKER_03: Fuck yeah.
• 2:49
  SPEAKER_03: Fuck yeah.
• 3:10
SPEAKER_02: Oh, honestly, fucking low rise jeans pull out my butt crack more than my Uncle Fergus did.
• 3:16
  SPEAKER_02: Wow.
• 3:17
  SPEAKER_02: That was a sentence.
• 3:19
SPEAKER_02: Much to unpack there, Sam.
• 3:21
SPEAKER_02: I don't have an Uncle Fergus, it was just the priest.
• 3:23
SPEAKER_02: Well, not anymore after the incident.
• 3:25
SPEAKER_02: We don't call him Uncle Fergus anyway.
• 3:27
SPEAKER_02: We call him inmates 734.
• 3:30
SPEAKER_02: Oh, Maxwell, plenty on for me this week.
• 3:33
SPEAKER_02: Uh new Slowly Slowly has dropped.
• 3:36
  SPEAKER_02: Oh.
• 3:37
  SPEAKER_02: It's a bit more yearnful, it's a bit more yearnful.
• 3:40
  SPEAKER_02: A bit emo.
• 3:41
  SPEAKER_02: It's great.
• 3:41
  SPEAKER_02: It's called Sacro Saint.
• 3:43
  SPEAKER_02: I did look, I won't lie, I've had a listen.
• 3:45
  SPEAKER_02: Bit of a banger.
• 3:46
  SPEAKER_02: Bit of a banger.
• 3:48
SPEAKER_02: Uh if you love Slowly Slowly's last album, if you like Daisy Chain, it kind of hits in that sweet middle spot.
• 3:55
SPEAKER_03: I mean, you you were a big Daisy Chain boy.
• 3:58
  SPEAKER_03: Huge Daisy Chain boy.
• 4:00
SPEAKER_03: I was uh I mean, that album is very, very good.
• 4:02
SPEAKER_03: The album prior to that as well, uh Ray's car blues, going to remark.
• 4:06
  SPEAKER_03: Yep.
• 4:06
  SPEAKER_03: Very good also.
• 4:07
SPEAKER_03: They've just had like they've they've evolved the sound really well each time.
• 4:10
SPEAKER_03: Anyway, it's enough uh playing good things festival.
• 4:13
SPEAKER_03: They are playing good things festival.
• 4:47
  SPEAKER_03: Anyway.
• 4:48
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, nice from them.
• 4:49
SPEAKER_03: Good work, Ben and the Boys.
• 4:50
  SPEAKER_03: Better the boys.
• 4:51
  SPEAKER_03: B and the Bees.
• 4:51
  SPEAKER_03: Bear the Bees.
• 4:52
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 4:53
SPEAKER_03: Uh Sam, my next song is from a M.
• 4:57
SPEAKER_03: Uh, my next song is from a band called Blue Beach Band.
• 4:59
  SPEAKER_03: Hard to say.
• 5:00
SPEAKER_03: Speaking of B and the Bees.
• 5:01
SPEAKER_03: Uh, and this song is called Queens.
• 5:04
SPEAKER_03: It is super catchy, fuzzy garage rock pop kind of stuff.
• 5:09
SPEAKER_03: Think to me, this could be on like a Scooby-Doo movie soundtrack.
• 5:13
SPEAKER_03: It is so catchy, like fun, vibey, pop rock, really vibey.
• 5:19
  SPEAKER_03: I've said vibey twice.
• 5:20
SPEAKER_03: That's how vibey it is.
• 5:21
  SPEAKER_03: That's fine.
• 5:22
  SPEAKER_03: It's twice vibey.
• 5:23
  SPEAKER_03: Twice the vibe.
• 5:24
  SPEAKER_03: Twice the vibe.
• 5:25
SPEAKER_03: Wonder white, twice the vibe at Sam.
• 5:26
SPEAKER_03: And uh this is in fact that song, Queens by Blue Beach Band.
• 5:49
  SPEAKER_02: It's just fun.
• 5:50
  SPEAKER_02: Just fun, vibey.
• 5:51
SPEAKER_02: Sometimes that's all you need, isn't it?
• 5:53
  SPEAKER_02: Mate, exactly.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_02: Just a bit of fun in the sun.
• 5:55
SPEAKER_03: You don't need to you don't need to fuck around.
• 5:57
SPEAKER_03: You just need to have a little little little boogie.
• 6:00
  SPEAKER_03: A little booger.
• 6:01
  SPEAKER_03: Little dance a dance.
• 6:02
  SPEAKER_03: A little booger.
• 6:03
  SPEAKER_02: Uh Maxwell Niche.
• 6:05
SPEAKER_02: N-E-I-S-H is a Brisbane artist that I cannot get enough of for fans of Ethel Kane, Saros, Sad Tings.
• 6:14
  SPEAKER_02: Sad Tings.
• 6:15
  SPEAKER_02: Yep.
• 6:16
SPEAKER_02: Um she's just dropped a new song called I Run.
• 6:19
SPEAKER_02: And it's just so Ebola.
• 6:25
  SPEAKER_02: It's just so ethereal.
• 6:27
  SPEAKER_02: So ethereal.
• 6:28
SPEAKER_02: And actually, no, we can't say that because last time we talked about niche, she posted the clip where we said it was ethereal.
• 6:35
  SPEAKER_02: Oh.
• 6:35
SPEAKER_03: And shout out to Spotify auto captions.
• 6:38
SPEAKER_03: Uh, not taking a bowl of ethereal.
• 6:41
  SPEAKER_03: No.
• 6:41
SPEAKER_03: And taking the disease that is currently having a large outbreak in the Congo.
• 6:46
SPEAKER_02: It's back on trend Ebola.
• 6:48
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's probably not great.
• 6:49
SPEAKER_03: So it's just ethereal, Sam.
• 6:51
  SPEAKER_03: It's just E-T-H-E-R-E-A-L.
• 6:54
  SPEAKER_02: Atmospheric.
• 6:55
  SPEAKER_02: Atmospheric.
• 6:56
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 6:57
  SPEAKER_02: Her vocals are incredible.
• 6:58
  SPEAKER_02: So this is Iran.
• 6:59
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 6:59
SPEAKER_02: For fans of the sad shit.
• 7:01
SPEAKER_03: And not fans of um intensely viral diseases.
• 7:05
SPEAKER_02: Do you bleed out every orifice?
• 7:06
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, one of those that was real fun.
• 7:08
SPEAKER_03: One of the good ones.
• 7:08
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 7:33
SPEAKER_03: Not as ethereal as some of her previous releases.
• 7:36
SPEAKER_03: That's got a bit of a fair bit more zip to it.
• 7:38
  SPEAKER_03: Bit of heat.
• 7:38
  SPEAKER_02: That's at the end.
• 7:39
SPEAKER_02: It obviously built builds to that.
• 7:41
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 7:42
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 7:42
  SPEAKER_02: That's a climactic conclusion.
• 7:44
SPEAKER_02: It's got a bit of heat you go on it, though.
• 7:46
  SPEAKER_02: It does.
• 7:46
SPEAKER_02: It's got a bit of pep in the step.
• 7:48
SPEAKER_02: It's got a bit of turbo in the engine.
• 7:50
SPEAKER_03: Sam, speaking of songs that have a bit of pep, uh, my last song for this week is uh by Miss Kanina.
• 7:55
SPEAKER_03: It's called Shat My Shit.
• 7:57
SPEAKER_03: Um, this track is such a funky jam.
• 7:59
  SPEAKER_03: It's very short.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_03: It's only like it's just over a minute long.
• 8:02
SPEAKER_03: I think it's like a minute five or something like that.
• 8:04
SPEAKER_03: Um, and it's like the sparseness of the production means that like Miss Kanina's like flow hard ass to do all of the work to for the hooks.
• 8:12
SPEAKER_03: And the boy does it.
• 8:13
SPEAKER_03: It's kind of angry and sexy and funky all at once.
• 8:17
  SPEAKER_03: Vibey.
• 8:18
  SPEAKER_03: Great song.
• 8:19
  SPEAKER_03: From a vibey.
• 8:21
SPEAKER_03: I need to go to Thesaurus.
• 8:22
  SPEAKER_03: The than.
• 8:23
SPEAKER_03: I need to go to the ther.
• 8:28
  SPEAKER_03: This just isn't it.
• 8:30
  SPEAKER_03: Ladies and gentlemen.
• 8:31
  SPEAKER_03: I think I officially had a stroke.
• 8:35
SPEAKER_02: Please don't have a stroke on the on the air.
• 8:37
SPEAKER_03: I need to go to the thesaurus, Sam, is what I was trying to say, but I'll tell you what.
• 8:41
SPEAKER_03: The thesaurus, for those playing along at home.
• 8:43
SPEAKER_03: Anyway, apologies to Miss Canina because I've absolutely fucked the vibes going to this.
• 8:46
SPEAKER_03: But anyway, this is Chat My Shit by Miss Canina.
• 8:49
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 8:50
SPEAKER_00: Let me chat my shit real quick.
• 8:51
SPEAKER_00: I'll put on my song down and then make it on rotation.
• 8:54
SPEAKER_00: I'm an angry black bitch.
• 8:55
SPEAKER_00: I've got no time for patience.
• 8:57
SPEAKER_00: I'll make the haters mad, cause the comments make me famous.
• 8:59
SPEAKER_00: I know they want to taste the mum when I shake it.
• 9:06
  SPEAKER_02: Australian?
• 9:07
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 9:07
  SPEAKER_02: Tasmania.
• 9:08
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
• 9:10
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because there's Australian rap in general.
• 9:13
SPEAKER_02: There's always the twang that comes out.
• 9:15
SPEAKER_03: It is, but I I've I vibe like we've talked on my hip.
• 9:19
SPEAKER_03: We've talked about like Australian rap in general.
• 9:22
SPEAKER_03: Like it's not like that doesn't have the the broad, like, you know, uh draft kind of like really wide vowels, you know what I mean?
• 9:32
  SPEAKER_03: Like, yeah.
• 9:33
SPEAKER_03: Um, but like so Miss Kanina, she's um an indigenous rapper from Tasmania, and I think that she just has a good, like, the her flow is incredible.
• 9:42
SPEAKER_03: It's so it still has that Aussie twang to it, but it still like just works really well without sounding like really Aussie.
• 9:48
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, without sounding Seth Sentry.
• 9:50
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's not we don't want to go down.
• 9:52
SPEAKER_03: It's not fucking where's my hoverboard science?
• 9:56
SPEAKER_03: Raise a sharp shout out, shaft.
• 9:58
SPEAKER_03: Sorry, raise a sharp object.
• 10:02
SPEAKER_03: Shall we of last songs?
• 10:04
  SPEAKER_03: Last songs, sorry.
• 10:05
  SPEAKER_03: My apologies.
• 10:05
SPEAKER_03: My my my my apologies, Sam.
• 10:07
SPEAKER_02: Our lovely listeners have been getting on the comments talking about full weather, Maxwell.
• 10:12
SPEAKER_02: And I finally listened to their new album because we were there.
• 10:15
  SPEAKER_02: Shut up.
• 10:20
SPEAKER_02: Um, I listened to the new album, it's very good.
• 10:23
  SPEAKER_02: It's metalcore.
• 10:24
  SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't they're from Australia, I think.
• 10:26
  SPEAKER_02: I should know that.
• 10:27
SPEAKER_02: Bear with me a moment, everybody.
• 10:28
  SPEAKER_02: They're from Melbourne.
• 10:30
  SPEAKER_02: Canadian Australian from Melbourne.
• 10:32
SPEAKER_02: Wow, a little bit going on there.
• 10:33
SPEAKER_02: Hence the name, I guess, Fall Weather.
• 10:35
  SPEAKER_02: Quite a mixer.
• 10:36
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it is.
• 10:36
SPEAKER_02: Mix of this, mix of that.
• 10:38
SPEAKER_02: I like what you did.
• 10:39
SPEAKER_02: First, let me say this.
• 10:43
  SPEAKER_02: Harassed.
• 10:44
  SPEAKER_02: I can't believe you've never seen that.
• 10:45
SPEAKER_03: I mean Yeah, look, I I had always thought that was we really do.
• 10:50
SPEAKER_03: I'd always thought those little clips, you know, you hear or see little clips and stuff.
• 10:53
SPEAKER_03: I always thought that was like part of the the 360 cursor.
• 10:56
SPEAKER_03: I'll show you that one later.
• 10:57
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 10:57
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 10:58
SPEAKER_03: Anyway, that's that's neither here or in fact there, Sam.
• 11:01
SPEAKER_03: Or anywhere for that matter.
• 11:02
SPEAKER_03: Well, I think it was at a car park in a Westfield.
• 11:04
  SPEAKER_03: But anyway.
• 11:06
SPEAKER_02: Um, this song's called Once a Garden, Now a Grave.
• 11:09
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna take you to the breakdown.
• 11:20
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know what's happening.
• 11:42
SPEAKER_02: Shout out to the tiny little bit of wow wow in the background.
• 11:45
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, DJ, what's his name?
• 11:46
  SPEAKER_02: Otsy.
• 11:47
  SPEAKER_02: DJ Lethal.
• 11:48
  SPEAKER_02: DJ Ottsy.
• 11:49
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 11:49
SPEAKER_02: Do you like that one?
• 11:52
  SPEAKER_02: All right, Maxwell.
• 11:53
  SPEAKER_02: Enough of something news.
• 11:54
SPEAKER_02: Shall we get into the news?
• 11:56
SPEAKER_02: Something news, if you will, Sam.
• 11:57
SPEAKER_03: Uh I said get into the news.
• 12:00
SPEAKER_03: Let's do a very quick tour out because there's been some highlights, some low lights, and some lights already this week.
• 12:06
SPEAKER_03: So I thought, why not just rip a few of these band-aids off?
• 12:08
SPEAKER_02: Start with the good news, the bad news.
• 12:09
SPEAKER_03: Let's start with the bad news, go through the medium news, and then uh wind up at the uh the good news.
• 12:14
SPEAKER_03: Are we talking about we are Post Malone has post-poponed Sam?
• 12:19
SPEAKER_03: That was one of the funniest comments I've seen.
• 12:21
SPEAKER_03: It's not bad from the from whoever that was, but excellent stuff.
• 12:25
SPEAKER_03: Uh the so he was on schedule to be on the Stowing Bird lineup, uh which was going to hit town in October uh in Ballarat.
• 12:34
SPEAKER_03: No, Geelong, somewhere in Victoria, um the Sunshine Coast and Newcastle.
• 12:38
SPEAKER_03: But he has delayed both those shows and his uh solo tour with Don Toliver.
• 12:44
SPEAKER_03: Um if you're if you had tickets to Stowing Bird, you can get refunds based on the fact that that lineup has had such a big change.
• 12:50
SPEAKER_03: They've brought in James Johnson and a couple of other people to cover the gap, but there are a fair few people who obviously want their tickets back, they want to go for the post-Malone show.
• 12:57
  SPEAKER_03: Yes.
• 12:58
  SPEAKER_03: Totally understandable.
• 12:59
SPEAKER_03: Um, and yeah, that uh you'd have he's he's definitely said postpone rather than cancel.
• 13:04
SPEAKER_03: So hopefully that means there is something else down the line from him.
• 13:09
SPEAKER_03: But I know a lot of people who are really keen to just go see Don Tolliver as well.
• 13:12
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I feel like well they came to goon.
• 13:20
SPEAKER_03: But so that's the bad news.
• 13:21
SPEAKER_03: Postmalone has uh postponed the both his appearance at Stonebird and his full tour.
• 13:26
SPEAKER_03: Now for the news, Sam.
• 13:28
SPEAKER_03: The the lights, you know, that was hard to watch.
• 13:31
  SPEAKER_03: I like to watch.
• 13:32
SPEAKER_02: I tried to maintain eye contact and scale a whole coating of sugar while looking at Max.
• 13:36
SPEAKER_02: I think my stomach might explode.
• 13:38
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 13:38
SPEAKER_03: We'll give this man a minute because he's about to die.
• 13:41
SPEAKER_03: As he goes back in for a second swig, you know what?
• 13:43
SPEAKER_03: I didn't quite get enough of the full bottle of coke.
• 13:47
  SPEAKER_03: Keep it down, sir.
• 13:48
SPEAKER_02: I don't know, I might accidentally swallow air and explode.
• 13:51
  SPEAKER_02: There you go.
• 13:52
SPEAKER_03: So uh Long Haul Festival, another music uh country music festival was meant to be uh coming up this or sorry, next year in January, um was headlined by or was said to be headlined by Casey Musgraves as well as a few other people at Came Brown.
• 14:06
SPEAKER_03: Uh that has fully cancelled.
• 14:07
SPEAKER_03: So um, while that is not good news for the festival in particular holders, there's a lot of chatter online about how Casey Musgraves will now probably just uh announce a solo tour um doing some arenas or some probably not stadiums at this point, but some big arenas.
• 14:20
SPEAKER_03: Um seeing some of the footage of her shows uh from around the world.
• 14:24
SPEAKER_03: She comes into the stadium on a disco ball that looks like balls.
• 14:29
  SPEAKER_03: Uh very cool.
• 14:30
  SPEAKER_02: Nice vibey.
• 14:31
  SPEAKER_02: I have a theory.
• 14:33
  SPEAKER_02: Here we go.
• 14:33
SPEAKER_02: So with Long Hall Festival being cancelled, Strummingbird having to re-jig their lineup now post-melone cancelled.
• 14:42
SPEAKER_02: Do we think the country trend that a lot of beige people were getting behind has led to the country revival in Australia being affected?
• 14:54
SPEAKER_03: Uh no, I don't think so because like Gimpy Musicmaster, true, CMC Rocks, Denai Ute Master, like all like they're still massive mainstream music f Country Music Festival events.
• 15:06
SPEAKER_03: I think what we might be discovering is for a lot of people who for a lot of festivals that trying to we're trying to get onto that trend, like as newcomers, there's some challenges.
• 15:14
SPEAKER_03: So long haul facing, you know, not being an established brand within, you know, it also was at the same time as Tamworth Country Music Festival.
• 15:20
SPEAKER_03: If you're trying to drive music fans away from Tamworth, like you got a lot to compete with.
• 15:25
SPEAKER_03: So I I certainly don't think there's any problem with country music festivals in general at all in Australia.
• 15:30
SPEAKER_03: I think it's that for newcomers that wanted to kind of capitalise on that that may not have the name or the you know the the uh the pedigree, I think um that might be where they might be struggling.
• 15:40
SPEAKER_03: But I think in general, both like postmone and Casey Masgraves, two massive names in the industry right now.
• 15:48
SPEAKER_03: Um, I think probably probably more of a description about the costs of festivals and putting them on Australia.
• 15:54
  SPEAKER_03: Does cost a lot.
• 15:55
  SPEAKER_03: Does cost a lot.
• 15:56
SPEAKER_02: Sorry, just thought that was a little theory because all the beige people go, I love country.
• 16:01
  SPEAKER_02: Fucking get a personality.
• 16:04
  SPEAKER_03: You told him, Sam.
• 16:05
  SPEAKER_03: You told him.
• 16:06
SPEAKER_03: Uh and finally, the good news, Sam.
• 16:08
SPEAKER_03: Bruno Mars is coming to town.
• 16:09
SPEAKER_03: He is coming to town.
• 16:10
SPEAKER_03: All five foot two of him.
• 16:13
SPEAKER_03: I'll tell you what, um, I'm unreasonably excited by this announcement.
• 16:17
  SPEAKER_03: I I love a bit of Bruno Mars.
• 16:19
  SPEAKER_03: You do.
• 16:20
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 16:20
SPEAKER_02: What's your favourite Bruno Mars song?
• 16:21
  SPEAKER_03: Oh Grenade is a bit of a banger, I won't lie.
• 16:24
  SPEAKER_03: Billionaire.
• 16:25
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, with Chavi McCoy.
• 16:26
SPEAKER_03: That is a good song.
• 16:28
  SPEAKER_03: Aeroplanes.
• 16:31
SPEAKER_03: With uh B and B and Haley Williams.
• 16:34
SPEAKER_02: No, it's just Daily Williams because he wrote that album, didn't he?
• 16:36
  SPEAKER_03: Sorry, yes.
• 16:37
  SPEAKER_03: Same person.
• 16:39
SPEAKER_03: But um, yeah, an incredible, uh, an incredible set of dates running from uh the 13th of February through to the 4th of March next year.
• 16:47
SPEAKER_03: Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney.
• 16:49
  SPEAKER_03: Peter Jean Hernandez.
• 16:50
  SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
• 16:50
  SPEAKER_03: Peter Jean Hernandez.
• 16:52
SPEAKER_03: Yes, that that is his name.
• 16:53
  SPEAKER_02: That's 545.
• 16:54
  SPEAKER_03: There you go.
• 16:55
SPEAKER_03: Um he's bringing Anderson Pack out so they can do some Silksonic stuff, which is pretty fucking cool as well.
• 17:00
SPEAKER_03: Um, but yeah, I'm I'm pretty hyped for this.
• 17:03
SPEAKER_03: Where's you playing in Brizzy?
• 17:04
SPEAKER_03: Uh the at Suncorp, I believe.
• 17:07
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so he's doing he's doing full stadium tour.
• 17:08
SPEAKER_03: So he's got uh a core in Sydney, uh, I believe Marvel in Melbourne, uh RAC potentially in no Optus in Perth, and then uh Suncorp here in little old Brizzy Town.
• 17:21
SPEAKER_02: Good for all the pop listeners.
• 17:23
  SPEAKER_02: Love it.
• 17:23
  SPEAKER_02: I couldn't think of anything worse.
• 17:25
SPEAKER_02: No, he does have heat.
• 17:27
SPEAKER_03: I think we were talking so uh we were talking about this with uh a friend of ours recently who went to the Lenny Kravitz show, who said, like Was I part of this conversation?
• 17:36
  SPEAKER_03: Actually, no, you weren't.
• 17:37
  SPEAKER_03: You weren't there.
• 17:38
SPEAKER_02: We were talking about this.
• 17:39
  SPEAKER_03: Were we?
• 17:40
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, just me and my other friends.
• 17:41
SPEAKER_03: Uh we're talking to someone who went to the Lenny Kravitz show.
• 17:45
SPEAKER_03: And you know, like Lenny Kravitz has I'd say I could name probably five off the top of my head, but then I was like, you know, whatever, Lenny Kravitz.
• 17:52
SPEAKER_03: I feel like with and but if I went and saw him, I'd go, oh, he did actually have this and this and this and this and this.
• 17:56
SPEAKER_03: And I think the same with is with Bruno Mars, where you go, cool, there's the ones that I can think of, but then he's got a deep bench.
• 18:01
  SPEAKER_02: Deep bench.
• 18:02
  SPEAKER_03: Deep bench.
• 18:02
SPEAKER_03: And can I think like he can do rock pretty well, he can do pop pretty well.
• 18:06
SPEAKER_03: He's still he's got these kind of like that throwback new jack swing RB rap kind of thing going on as well.
• 18:12
SPEAKER_03: He can kind of play in a lot of different things quite well.
• 18:14
SPEAKER_02: If he plays uptown uh uptown funk more than once, I'm jumping from the rafters.
• 18:19
  SPEAKER_02: Banger though.
• 18:20
  SPEAKER_03: Banger.
• 18:21
  SPEAKER_03: Undeniably a banger.
• 18:23
SPEAKER_03: I'm not saying it's not I've ever played, but undeniably a good song.
• 18:26
SPEAKER_03: So I was just eyeballing all three cameras at the same time for help.
• 18:29
SPEAKER_03: Undeniably, that is a very good song.
• 18:31
  SPEAKER_02: Yep.
• 18:32
SPEAKER_02: Put in the same category as cousins by Vampire Weekend.
• 18:36
SPEAKER_03: You can't uh I suppose you can't teach a boy taste, I suppose, you know?
• 18:38
  SPEAKER_02: No, you can't.
• 18:39
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 18:39
SPEAKER_02: That's why that I don't listen to Uptown Funk.
• 18:41
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like you don't have to repeat what I said, Sam.
• 18:44
SPEAKER_03: That was self-ban in high school.
• 18:48
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, a hot stove.
• 18:49
SPEAKER_03: I wonder what my hand feels like on it.
• 18:52
SPEAKER_03: Um, Sam, something that I thought you might be quite interested in was Oh yeah, I'm excited.
• 18:57
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, I thought this one might perk your little ears up.
• 19:00
SPEAKER_03: Um, a new video game on the horizon from uh a a new ish company that is founded from people who left Activision after Guitar Hero.
• 19:09
SPEAKER_03: They're calling it Stage Tour.
• 19:10
SPEAKER_03: It's dropping in December, and I'll tell you what, I'm just about fucking ready.
• 19:15
SPEAKER_03: I thought you might be too.
• 19:16
  SPEAKER_02: Hell yeah, brother.
• 19:18
SPEAKER_02: Tell you what, it's fucking expensive.
• 19:20
SPEAKER_03: It is, but you've got to have the full all the all the instruments, you know.
• 19:23
SPEAKER_02: Are you gonna get so stage tour looks like another version of Guitar Hero or rock band?
• 19:28
  SPEAKER_02: Yes, yep.
• 19:28
SPEAKER_02: Um, you can get uns guitar, you can get DOS guitar, you could get uns guitar microphone and drums, you can get uns guitar drums, you can get a lot.
• 19:40
SPEAKER_02: And they range from$290 all the way up to$765.
• 19:46
  SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry.
• 19:47
SPEAKER_02: Oh, you can get different so they've partnered with Gibson by the looks of it.
• 19:51
SPEAKER_03: Yes, they're like all like branded guitar.
• 19:54
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can get Les Paul's, you can get Kramer guitars, you can get SGs.
• 19:58
  SPEAKER_02: This is sick.
• 20:00
SPEAKER_03: And they've dropped some of the set list that is going to be on the game already.
• 20:04
SPEAKER_03: Um I'll I'll give you some of the bangers, and then I'm sure there's plenty more in here that you'll identify more than me.
• 20:09
SPEAKER_03: But so you got things like Smash Mouth All-Star, obviously, Starlight by Muse, Ratatata by uh Baby Metal and Electric Hallboy.
• 20:16
  SPEAKER_02: Yep.
• 20:16
SPEAKER_03: Uh you got Red Hot Chili Pables with Danny California, you've got some Weezer, you've got some Avril Levine, you've got Rise Against, Slipknot, Mastodon.
• 20:24
  SPEAKER_03: There's heaps in there.
• 20:25
SPEAKER_03: But uh any jumping out at you?
• 20:26
  SPEAKER_02: Paramour for a pessimist, I'm a pretty I'm pretty optimistic.
• 20:30
SPEAKER_02: No mention of paramour, that's criminal from you.
• 20:33
SPEAKER_02: I wanted to leave you some space.
• 20:34
SPEAKER_02: Just pretend bad omens, heat.
• 20:37
  SPEAKER_02: Um that's about it.
• 20:39
SPEAKER_02: You mentioned all the other ones.
• 20:40
SPEAKER_02: Psychosocial, level impossible, that'll be my flex.
• 20:42
SPEAKER_03: Doesn't give a fuck about the cure, doesn't give a fuck about ghost, doesn't give a fuck about radio head.
• 20:46
  SPEAKER_03: That's fine.
• 20:47
  SPEAKER_02: I don't give a toot.
• 20:49
  SPEAKER_03: I don't give a toot.
• 20:50
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 20:52
SPEAKER_02: Now he understands the online world.
• 20:54
SPEAKER_03: Well, I'll just have good algorithms, Sam.
• 20:56
SPEAKER_03: Anyway, uh, one final piece before we get to the suitcase, Sam, is I wanted to shout out the ARIA charts for being mad dogs.
• 21:04
SPEAKER_03: They often are mad dogs, but they are especially mad dogs right now.
• 21:07
SPEAKER_03: They announced last week that uh there's gonna be changes made to the way that the songs get counted in the Aria charts.
• 21:12
SPEAKER_03: For anyone who's international aria charts are our billboard charts, they're the charts.
• 21:16
SPEAKER_03: And for our Spanish listeners, uh it's the big solo song and an opera.
• 21:21
SPEAKER_03: Um the the so the aria charts have announced that they will be removing or not counting songs that are either wholly or substantially AI generated.
• 21:32
SPEAKER_03: So there goes pretty much all of the AI slot that we already know.
• 21:38
SPEAKER_03: The there is some nuance down to what constitutes substantially AI generated.
• 21:43
SPEAKER_03: So they've said, for instance, it's not uh this is not a catch-all, but for instance, any song where the vocal is um AI generated will be ineligible.
• 21:53
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and any song where the lead instrumentation is AI generated will be largely taken off.
• 21:58
SPEAKER_03: So I imagine if you're Or you know, if it's a rock kind of song and guitar is the the lead thing and that's AI generated, that's out of there.
• 22:06
SPEAKER_03: If it's a an EDM banger and there's you know the Synthie bits and the drops are EDM generated, I think that's out of there.
• 22:12
SPEAKER_03: I think it will come down to interpretation some of the time.
• 22:14
SPEAKER_03: And I'm sure there'll be those edge cases where we're like, should this be in, shouldn't there be this be in?
• 22:18
SPEAKER_03: But I think as a general rule, this is a pretty good win for human-created art.
• 22:22
  SPEAKER_02: Huge win.
• 22:23
SPEAKER_02: I think the sooner we can get away from AI the better.
• 22:26
SPEAKER_02: There's nothing I dislike more than talking to people who love AI.
• 22:31
  SPEAKER_02: I love AI, it's so helpful.
• 22:34
  SPEAKER_02: Fuck off.
• 22:37
SPEAKER_02: Just because you have to write an email this time, Susan.
• 22:41
  SPEAKER_02: Beat my ass.
• 22:43
SPEAKER_02: Honestly, I hate AI so much.
• 22:46
SPEAKER_03: I think I do appreciate that, as we've often said on the show, the as I've contended on the show, I think there's a space for AI as a tool or a single instrument within songs.
• 22:55
SPEAKER_03: Um and I like that Aria has allowed some movement in that because I think we'll start to see people experimenting with their like blending human and AI created art in one piece.
• 23:05
SPEAKER_03: And I think we have to have space for that.
• 23:08
SPEAKER_03: Even in the space of it just being is this art kind of thing, like that conversation.
• 23:11
SPEAKER_03: So I like that there's some nuance in there.
• 23:13
SPEAKER_03: It's not a hard and no AI whatsoever.
• 23:15
SPEAKER_03: Um, but I think it's really good to say this chart very much is primarily focused on human creation to some degree.
• 23:23
  SPEAKER_02: I think so.
• 23:23
  SPEAKER_02: I I like that.
• 23:24
  SPEAKER_02: Good from you, Aria.
• 23:25
  SPEAKER_02: Good from you.
• 23:26
  SPEAKER_02: You're done good today.
• 23:28
SPEAKER_02: Just cut me off in my own camera and oh my phone, my fuckers is gone.
• 23:33
  SPEAKER_02: Now it's back.
• 23:34
SPEAKER_02: Should we get to the suitcase, Maxwell?
• 23:36
SPEAKER_02: Actually, before we do, we said it in vinyl club on Monday.
• 23:40
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 23:41
SPEAKER_02: But we are out and about at Big Sound.
• 23:44
  SPEAKER_02: You're pounding the pavement.
• 23:45
  SPEAKER_02: We are pavement pounding.
• 23:47
SPEAKER_02: And yeah, all the if you don't get around Big Sound, it's all the best upcoming talent throughout Australia and somewhat internationally, just strutting their stuff.
• 23:59
SPEAKER_02: In every live music venue in Brisbane, all the pubs become concert venues.
• 24:06
SPEAKER_02: It's good for live music, it's good for venues, it's good for everyone who loves music.
• 24:11
SPEAKER_02: So just a little quick example that's what we're doing this week.
• 24:14
SPEAKER_03: If you're in Brisbane and you are listening on the day this drops or the day after this drops, it's not too late.
• 24:19
SPEAKER_03: Come down to the valley, get a ticket, see some bands.
• 24:21
SPEAKER_03: You might see us wandering around, come say hi.
• 24:24
SPEAKER_03: It is one of the best weeks you'll ever have.
• 24:26
SPEAKER_03: Just if you like seeing music, get down here.
• 24:28
SPEAKER_02: Thursday night is the last night you can go.
• 24:30
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Wednesday, Thursday when this drops.
• 24:31
  SPEAKER_03: So get down here.
• 24:33
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 24:34
SPEAKER_02: Bands like Blinder, you've got Glow, you've got Lady Hawk.
• 24:39
  SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of talent.
• 24:40
SPEAKER_02: We've seen the likes of Play Lunch, Polaris.
• 24:42
SPEAKER_02: Uh, who else have we seen?
• 24:44
  SPEAKER_02: Heaps.
• 24:44
SPEAKER_03: Going back in the day, I saw DMA's there.
• 24:46
SPEAKER_03: I saw Gang of Youths there.
• 24:47
SPEAKER_03: I've seen Vice Soho there, Flume.
• 24:50
SPEAKER_03: Uh massive, massive bands start out very small, uh, at Big Sound.
• 24:55
SPEAKER_03: So come come check it out.
• 24:56
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 24:57
SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
• 24:58
SPEAKER_02: Oh, all right, let's get to the sword case.
• 25:01
  SPEAKER_02: Zippy zippy.
• 25:02
SPEAKER_02: Maxwell, I've seen a lot of people froth our shoe gaze shit, our new gaze shit, and they're very quick in the comments to comment that's not shoe gaze.
• 25:12
SPEAKER_02: And to that I say politely, run into my fist.
• 25:16
SPEAKER_02: It's led me to say this, Maxwell.
• 25:19
SPEAKER_02: Grunge gaze, Deftones Core, I don't care.
• 25:22
  SPEAKER_02: It's sick.
• 25:23
  SPEAKER_02: Grunge gaze.
• 25:24
SPEAKER_02: Now we're getting it some real territory.
• 25:27
SPEAKER_02: So these are all the different genres that are flying around.
• 25:30
SPEAKER_02: And I'm just putting it down.
• 25:31
  SPEAKER_02: I don't give a shit whether it's new gaze.
• 25:36
  SPEAKER_02: It's just sick.
• 25:37
SPEAKER_02: The wave of shoe gays at the moment is awesome.
• 25:40
SPEAKER_02: So I've got five new songs that you just need to fucking get into.
• 25:44
SPEAKER_02: Get your shoes on for this one, Sam.
• 25:46
  SPEAKER_02: Get your shoes in.
• 25:46
SPEAKER_02: They're not all new, but fucking get into it.
• 25:48
SPEAKER_02: Well, they're not all new gays, but they are all shoe gays.
• 25:50
SPEAKER_02: Well, this first one, Maxwell, Julia Wolf.
• 25:53
  SPEAKER_02: Ah, Jules.
• 25:54
SPEAKER_02: Famous for In My Room.
• 25:56
SPEAKER_02: I want your things in my room.
• 25:59
  SPEAKER_02: You know the song?
• 25:59
SPEAKER_02: It's like I'm right there with her.
• 26:00
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I am Julia Wolf.
• 26:02
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 26:02
SPEAKER_02: Uh this song's called Wishbone.
• 26:03
SPEAKER_02: This was before the In My Room era, and it is just in the hallway.
• 26:09
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, outside.
• 26:10
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 26:11
  SPEAKER_03: Front door.
• 26:11
  SPEAKER_03: Front door.
• 26:12
SPEAKER_03: In the car texting, I'm out the front, but I'm not going to knock on the door on Casey Mum answers.
• 26:16
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 26:17
SPEAKER_02: Like you're on the first date, but you don't want to meet the family yet.
• 26:19
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 26:19
  SPEAKER_02: Didn't bring flowers.
• 26:21
  SPEAKER_02: No.
• 26:21
SPEAKER_02: She didn't say she had a sister.
• 26:24
  SPEAKER_02: I'm her father.
• 26:27
SPEAKER_02: That's another power move I think I'm going to do.
• 26:29
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
• 26:30
SPEAKER_02: Well, actually, the dating story went well, so let's do this.
• 26:32
SPEAKER_02: If you want to go on a date with Sam, you're about to have some shit go down your way.
• 26:35
  SPEAKER_02: No, no.
• 26:36
SPEAKER_02: So we've done the Velcro wallet on the first date.
• 26:38
SPEAKER_02: I think the power move when you meet the parents, dad answers the door.
• 26:42
SPEAKER_02: You go, I can see where she gets her good looks from.
• 26:46
  SPEAKER_02: G'day.
• 26:47
  SPEAKER_02: I'm nervous.
• 26:49
SPEAKER_02: There's a heat with a bit of hi nervous.
• 26:51
  SPEAKER_02: I'm dad.
• 26:52
SPEAKER_02: And you're like, oh my god, I'm in love.
• 26:54
SPEAKER_02: And you're like, fucking hell.
• 26:55
SPEAKER_02: And then you handshake him, and then you go, always a pleasure.
• 26:59
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, the turn.
• 27:00
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 27:01
SPEAKER_02: Don't fuck with me, mate.
• 27:02
SPEAKER_02: I make a better stake than that.
• 27:04
SPEAKER_03: Although, what if what if what if you go the turn, but he keeps the hand, so you just you just lift your hand up like that, you'll look like quite a ghost.
• 27:09
SPEAKER_02: You're just grabbing his thumb.
• 27:10
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 27:11
  SPEAKER_02: That's for later.
• 27:12
SPEAKER_03: You just go on the joystick.
• 27:13
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 27:14
  SPEAKER_03: Atari.
• 27:16
  unknown: Atari.
• 27:18
SPEAKER_02: Bonus point for sound effects?
• 27:20
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 27:22
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you start playing his shirt buttons.
• 27:25
SPEAKER_02: Oh, that makes me so uncomfortable.
• 27:28
SPEAKER_02: Uh let's get into it.
• 27:30
SPEAKER_02: Anyway, this is Wishbone by Julia Wolf.
• 27:32
  SPEAKER_02: Here we go.
• 27:53
unknown: Wait it on your crack to fuck me up.
• 27:57
SPEAKER_03: On a scale of uh new gaze to shoe gaze, I'm not looking at shoes for that one.
• 28:02
SPEAKER_03: That's closer to the grunge.
• 28:04
  SPEAKER_03: That's closer to grunge.
• 28:04
  SPEAKER_02: That's grunge gaze.
• 28:05
  SPEAKER_02: That's yeah, yeah.
• 28:06
  SPEAKER_02: No shoes involved.
• 28:07
  SPEAKER_02: No shoes involved.
• 28:08
SPEAKER_02: No shoes were harmed with the making of this content.
• 28:10
  SPEAKER_02: They were not.
• 28:10
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna fly through these in the interest of time because people don't want the descriptions.
• 28:14
SPEAKER_02: This is Crowbar by Doom Mutual out of America.
• 28:18
  SPEAKER_02: I think they're out of Nashville.
• 28:20
  SPEAKER_02: Insane band.
• 28:22
  SPEAKER_02: So good.
• 28:23
SPEAKER_02: I brought Crushed Tin Can to the first video we did.
• 28:26
SPEAKER_02: This one's a little bit different, not as heavy on the fuzz, but it's good.
• 28:30
  SPEAKER_02: Twin Shalem.
• 28:31
  SPEAKER_02: It's good.
• 28:56
SPEAKER_03: Also, wouldn't look at shoes.
• 28:57
SPEAKER_03: That one feels to me almost an early paramour sort of sound.
• 29:01
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's less on the shoe gaze, it's left deaf, less deft tones core, but it's kind of like yeah, it's a bit more upbeat.
• 29:09
  SPEAKER_02: Shoe adjacent, sock.
• 29:10
SPEAKER_02: Sock gaze, if you will say.
• 29:14
  SPEAKER_02: That's not bad.
• 29:15
  SPEAKER_02: Thanks.
• 29:15
  SPEAKER_02: I like that.
• 29:16
SPEAKER_02: Uh next one is very shoegazy.
• 29:18
SPEAKER_02: It's called Pill to Swallow by Soft Cult.
• 29:21
  SPEAKER_03: Soft, yeah, soft cult.
• 29:22
  SPEAKER_03: Cult.
• 29:23
SPEAKER_03: As in like a uh you know, drones down Massacre cult.
• 29:26
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 29:27
  SPEAKER_03: Not a horse cult.
• 29:28
SPEAKER_02: No, but it's hard to in America cult.
• 29:30
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 29:31
  SPEAKER_02: The milk.
• 29:55
SPEAKER_02: It didn't do it in our mix, but when you listen with headphones on, it jumps right to left.
• 29:59
  SPEAKER_02: It's so sick.
• 30:00
SPEAKER_03: I was about to say no shoe again, but that central part where it's doing the just the swirling vocal kind of thing.
• 30:08
  SPEAKER_03: Shoe.
• 30:09
SPEAKER_03: You can have some shoe.
• 30:10
  SPEAKER_02: Have some shoe.
• 30:10
SPEAKER_03: Get a shoe for you there, Sam.
• 30:12
SPEAKER_02: Well, this is Further from Home by Distressor.
• 30:14
SPEAKER_02: This is, I believe, a little bit more new gazed.
• 30:48
  SPEAKER_02: Moderate shoe.
• 30:50
  SPEAKER_02: Moderate shoe.
• 30:51
  SPEAKER_02: Sort of a a mix between it's more of a crock.
• 30:53
SPEAKER_03: I'd call that a it's you wouldn't be able to get away without a commercial kitchen.
• 30:57
  SPEAKER_03: No.
• 30:58
SPEAKER_03: But I think we, you know.
• 31:01
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 31:01
  SPEAKER_03: I'd I'd call that a yeah, I'd give you some shoe.
• 31:04
  SPEAKER_03: Some shoe.
• 31:04
  SPEAKER_03: Some shoe.
• 31:04
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 31:05
  SPEAKER_02: A van.
• 31:05
SPEAKER_02: They're more bands that just dabble in that world.
• 31:08
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 31:09
SPEAKER_02: That sounded very teenage wristy.
• 31:12
SPEAKER_02: Teenage wrist is a band.
• 31:13
  SPEAKER_03: No, no.
• 31:13
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, make it teenage wristy though.
• 31:16
SPEAKER_03: Flags us on some kind of um algorithm that we probably have to deal with later.
• 31:25
SPEAKER_02: Rewind! It feels very teenage wrist, that band.
• 31:30
  SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah, you're right.
• 31:31
SPEAKER_02: Um risty business over there, same at it.
• 31:35
  SPEAKER_02: Kill myself.
• 31:37
SPEAKER_02: I can feel myself going red.
• 31:41
SPEAKER_02: Anyway, last song is by Tiffany.
• 31:44
  SPEAKER_02: Oh.
• 31:44
  SPEAKER_02: It's like Tiffany without the A.
• 31:46
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 31:46
SPEAKER_02: You say that like you know a.
• 31:48
SPEAKER_03: That name rings a bell.
• 31:49
SPEAKER_02: Uh this song's called So Deep.
• 31:50
SPEAKER_02: It's a little like sexy shoe core.
• 31:52
  SPEAKER_02: Shoe core.
• 31:53
  SPEAKER_02: Shoe goes.
• 31:54
  SPEAKER_02: Shoe core.
• 31:54
SPEAKER_02: But all about fucking shoe core here, dude.
• 31:57
  SPEAKER_02: What are those?
• 31:58
  SPEAKER_02: It's shoe core.
• 32:16
SPEAKER_03: Call Clark Sam, because that is uh that's a that's a fitted shoe.
• 32:20
SPEAKER_02: That is a fitted shoe.
• 32:21
  SPEAKER_03: That's fitted shoe.
• 32:21
  SPEAKER_03: That's very shoe.
• 32:22
  SPEAKER_03: Yep.
• 32:23
SPEAKER_02: So we've got the the realm, and I think that wraps up the world of shoe gays.
• 32:27
SPEAKER_02: If you're into it, just fucking do your own research.
• 32:28
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, by this point, you've had 15 songs given to you on a platter.
• 32:31
SPEAKER_03: If you can't get an algorithm going off that, you've got to fucking sort your life out.
• 32:34
SPEAKER_02: Honestly, we can't give you the answers.
• 32:36
  SPEAKER_02: No.
• 32:37
SPEAKER_02: But then I'll walk around the classroom and I just look over your shoulder and go.
• 32:41
SPEAKER_02: Guys, when we're looking at question three, can we just make sure we read the question?
• 32:46
SPEAKER_03: Uh Sam, I took a little sojourn over the weekend down to the city of churches, Adelaide.
• 32:52
SPEAKER_03: And I had I was talking to a uh a young cousin of mine, and I was talking about how good the Adelaide scene is right now.
• 32:59
SPEAKER_03: So I thought, here's five Adelaide bands that you need to get amongst because that scene is blowing up.
• 33:04
SPEAKER_03: This first one, we've talked about them probably too much.
• 33:06
SPEAKER_03: I'd say ad nauseum, but it's it's rare that you and I uh kind of come together on a band this much.
• 33:11
SPEAKER_03: Um the band is Blinder, and this song is Chrome.
• 33:14
  SPEAKER_03: Hell yeah.
• 33:15
SPEAKER_03: This, like I'm I'm gonna hold my fire on making full decisions about this band until I've seen them live this week at Big Sound.
• 33:21
  SPEAKER_03: Yes.
• 33:22
SPEAKER_03: But I think they're on track to be one of the most important heavy bands in the Australian scene at the moment.
• 33:26
SPEAKER_03: They just they it's so good.
• 33:28
SPEAKER_03: This is Chrome, it's towards the end of the song, and this is just think like that the new loath album.
• 33:33
SPEAKER_03: This could fit right in there.
• 33:34
SPEAKER_03: Um, get ready, prepare yourself.
• 33:57
SPEAKER_02: The sick thing about Blinder is they have different members who can do vocal.
• 34:01
  SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes.
• 34:02
SPEAKER_02: That to me, like 480 that we for 480p that we brought to the show the other day was very shoegazed with the female vocal.
• 34:09
SPEAKER_02: That feels almost if Thornhill stripped it back a little bit and just went rock.
• 34:13
  SPEAKER_02: Yep.
• 34:14
  SPEAKER_02: There's they're gonna be such a big deal.
• 34:16
SPEAKER_03: I think across that AP, there's so many different sounds that they love playing with, and it there's just it's good.
• 34:21
  SPEAKER_03: It's good, it's good stuff.
• 34:22
SPEAKER_02: The yeah, the momentum that are that is behind Blind are coming into Big Sound's insane.
• 34:28
SPEAKER_02: Like every year at Big Sound, there's one band that comes in with ha ha ha like everyone's talking about this one band.
• 34:34
SPEAKER_02: Last year it was Southern River band, this year it definitely feels like Blind R.
• 34:39
SPEAKER_03: But so yeah, we go when we see them live.
• 34:40
SPEAKER_03: Uh Sam, next one is if you're more into the indie rock kind of thing, the Talamoraines, friends of the show.
• 34:46
SPEAKER_03: Uh, they've they've got like their hooks are so catchy, it is ridiculous.
• 34:50
SPEAKER_03: I think they're gonna be really occupying that sort of indie rock, pop rock kind of sound, that space for the next little while because it's just so like they're just so good at crafting such a good hook.
• 35:04
SPEAKER_03: Uh, this song is called Loser.
• 35:06
SPEAKER_03: It's a couple years old, I think it's about 2024 now, but it's just such a banger, I can't get it out of my lip out of my head sometimes.
• 35:32
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 35:33
  SPEAKER_03: Catchy.
• 35:34
SPEAKER_03: The hooks are just fun.
• 35:35
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, just fun, hooky, vibey.
• 35:37
  SPEAKER_03: Fun in the sun.
• 35:39
SPEAKER_03: Sam, uh, next up, um, a bit more on the heavy side again.
• 35:43
  SPEAKER_03: Win big.
• 35:43
SPEAKER_03: We've been talking a bit about this band.
• 35:45
SPEAKER_03: I brought them to the show a little while back um with uh one of their really one of their songs from their new album.
• 35:51
SPEAKER_03: And this is another one off that album called Gates to Heaven.
• 35:54
SPEAKER_03: It's a bit pop bit pop punk, a bit hardcore, like almost like a violence soho, but slightly heavier.
• 36:00
SPEAKER_03: Um, I think they're like kind of a six spiritual successor to that band.
• 36:03
  SPEAKER_03: Yep.
• 36:04
SPEAKER_03: Um, they've got the riffs that are gonna get like huge pits, but then there's still and melodic, and the instrumentation is interesting, interesting enough that I think they're quite accessible.
• 36:11
SPEAKER_03: Yeah so if you are a bit on the fence with when it comes to hardcore, I think Wind Big would be a good way in.
• 36:16
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 36:17
SPEAKER_03: Uh this is Gates to Heaven.
• 36:20
SPEAKER_03: Also, this is a hella short song.
• 36:22
SPEAKER_03: They're whole they packed ten songs into a 21-minute record.
• 36:25
  SPEAKER_03: So yeah.
• 36:26
SPEAKER_03: They they they go by to clip.
• 36:55
SPEAKER_03: I thought I'd give us both parts there.
• 36:56
  SPEAKER_03: That's a bit of hardcore.
• 36:58
SPEAKER_03: You're not hardcore unless you have hardcore.
• 37:03
SPEAKER_03: Sam, lest ye think I'm all about the guitars.
• 37:05
SPEAKER_03: Got a bit of uh EDM electronica for you as well.
• 37:08
SPEAKER_03: Lonely spec, um, think kind of hyperpop meets EDM.
• 37:13
SPEAKER_03: So many different sounds all together in one song where it shouldn't work, but it does.
• 37:18
SPEAKER_03: Um dropped an album last year, uh, played a big sound last year as well, and I just think some someone who I think we need to keep an eye on because I think there's so much going on with this uh with Lonely Spec that I really want to kind of watch where they go.
• 37:30
SPEAKER_03: Uh, this is Tether, um, and just best of luck keeping up with this one.
• 37:58
  SPEAKER_03: That's it.
• 37:59
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it just works.
• 38:00
  SPEAKER_03: It just It does.
• 38:01
SPEAKER_03: You think, what the fuck?
• 38:02
SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, oh every time.
• 38:06
  SPEAKER_03: Every fucking time.
• 38:07
SPEAKER_03: And Sam, one for the pop girlies, like me.
• 38:10
SPEAKER_03: Uh, George Alice, she's been on the scene for a little while, uh, but had a bit of a blow-up off the back of being included in the off-campus uh soundtrack for the the show, um, with I believe this song with with SOS and also works with friend of the show Dan from Towns.
• 38:26
  SPEAKER_03: Hell yeah.
• 38:27
SPEAKER_03: Think kind of that pop EDM sort of space, like very much waiting to blow up as kind of one of those alternate pop sh pop artists.
• 38:35
  SPEAKER_03: Um so fucking good.
• 38:36
SPEAKER_03: So this is SOS by George Ellis.
• 39:07
  SPEAKER_03: Rihanna getting out there.
• 39:09
  SPEAKER_03: Rihanna.
• 39:10
  SPEAKER_03: Rihanna.
• 39:11
  SPEAKER_03: Let's call it Rihanna.
• 39:12
SPEAKER_03: Oi, Rihanna! Uh, well, anyway, that's uh that's a little taster of uh Adelaide, a little wine taster, if you will, Sam.
• 39:19
SPEAKER_03: Adelaide's got it going on, don't you?
• 39:21
SPEAKER_03: Adelaide's got it going on.
• 39:22
SPEAKER_03: Be proud of yourself, Adelaide.
• 39:24
SPEAKER_03: Also, you put the weather on for me while I was down there this weekend.
• 39:27
  SPEAKER_03: It's lovely.
• 39:27
  SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
• 39:28
  SPEAKER_03: Thanks, Adelaide.
• 39:28
  SPEAKER_03: He's a little traveled man.
• 39:29
  SPEAKER_03: You from Adelaide?
• 39:30
SPEAKER_03: I'm speaking to you directly.
• 39:32
SPEAKER_02: You pointed straight at the camera, ladies and gentlemen.
• 39:34
SPEAKER_02: Well, I think that wraps another successful week, Maxwell.
• 39:36
  SPEAKER_02: At time of record, it's 4 20.
• 39:38
  SPEAKER_02: Let's go blaze it.
• 39:38
  SPEAKER_02: Mate, absolutely.
