Latest / Bible Chat Devotional / April 24 - Peace Over Pressure
Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, April 24th.
- 0:11Peace over pressure. Pressure has a way of filling
- 0:14every corner of the mind. What do people think of me?
- 0:17Am I falling behind? Why does their life look easier?
- 0:21Why do I feel so tired? Proverbs chapter 14 verse 30
- 0:25says a tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the
- 0:28bones rot. That is a vivid picture.
- 0:32Comparison does not just distract us, it drains us.
- 0:36Romans chapter 8 verse 6 says to set the mind on the spirit is
- 0:40life and peace. And Romans chapter 8 verse 37
- 0:44reminds us that in all these things we are more than
- 0:48conquerors through Him who loved us.
- 0:51Peace does not come from having a perfect schedule, perfect
- 0:54relationships, or perfect confidence.
- 0:56Peace comes from where your mind is set.
- 0:59When your mind is set on comparison, you will feel
- 1:01restless. When it is set on fear, you will
- 1:04feel trapped. When it is set on the Spirit,
- 1:06you begin to remember what is true.
- 1:08You are loved by God. You are held by God.
- 1:12You are not fighting for victory alone in Christ.
- 1:15You are living from His victory. That does not mean pressure
- 1:18disappears. It means pressure does not get
- 1:21to rule you. Stress may be real, but it is
- 1:24not your master. Envy may knock, but you do not
- 1:27have to invite it in. Fear may speak, but the Spirit
- 1:30speaks. Life and peace.
- 1:32Today, notice what your mind keeps returning to.
- 1:35Then gently turn it back to God. Set your thoughts on His
- 1:38promises. Set your heart on His presence.
- 1:41You are not just surviving through Jesus.
- 1:44You are more than a conqueror. Let's pray.
- 1:47Heavenly Father, thank you for offering peace that is stronger
- 1:50than pressure. Help me set my mind on Your
- 1:53spirit instead of comparison, fear or stress.
- 1:57Remind me that I am loved and held by you.
- 2:00Teach me to live as more than a conqueror through Jesus today.
- 2:04In Jesus name, Amen. What if you could rise up and
- 2:11declare with full spiritual authority, I shall not die, but
- 2:15live? Death Defeated is a powerful

- 3:13Proverbs chapter 14 verses 30 to 31 World English Bible.
- 3:18The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the
- 3:22bones. He who oppresses the poor shows
- 3:25contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors
- 3:28him. Romans chapter 8 World English
- 3:31Bible There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in
- 3:36Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but
- 3:39according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of
- 3:43life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of
- 3:46death. For what the Law couldn't do, in
- 3:49that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending His own
- 3:53Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin.
- 3:56He condemned sin in the flesh, that the ordinance of the Law
- 4:00might be fulfilled in US who don't walk according to the
- 4:02flesh, but according to the Spirit.
- 4:06For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the
- 4:09things of the flesh, but those who live according to the
- 4:12Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
- 4:15For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the
- 4:17Spirit is life and peace, because the mind of the flesh is
- 4:21hostile toward God, for it is not subject to God's law,
- 4:25neither indeed can it be. Those who are in the flesh can't
- 4:29please God. But you are not in the flesh,
- 4:31but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in
- 4:34you. But if any man doesn't have the
- 4:37Spirit of Christ, he is not his. If Christ is in you, the body is
- 4:42dead because of sin, but the Spirit is alive because of
- 4:45righteousness. But if the Spirit of him who
- 4:48raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up
- 4:51Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal
- 4:55bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
- 4:58So then, brothers, we are debtors not to the flesh, to
- 5:01live after the flesh. For if you live after the flesh,
- 5:04you must die. But if by the Spirit you put to
- 5:07death the deeds of the body, you will live for as many as are led
- 5:11by the Spirit of God. These are children of God.
- 5:15For you didn't receive the spirit of bondage again to fear,
- 5:17but you received the spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, ABBA,
- 5:22Father, the Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that
- 5:25we are children of God. And if children, then heirs,
- 5:29heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer
- 5:32with Him, that we may also be glorified with Him.
- 5:37For I consider that the sufferings of this present time
- 5:40are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be
- 5:43revealed toward us. For the creation waits with
- 5:46eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.
- 5:51For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will,
- 5:55but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation
- 5:59itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into
- 6:03the liberty of the glory of the children of God.
- 6:06For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in
- 6:09pain together, until now not only so, but ourselves also, who
- 6:14have the first fruits of the Spirit.
- 6:16Even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption,
- 6:20the redemption of our body. For we were saved in hope.
- 6:24But hope that is seen is not hope.
- 6:26For who hopes for that which he sees?
- 6:28But if we hope for that which we don't see, we wait for it with
- 6:31patience. In the same way, the Spirit also
- 6:35helps our weaknesses. For we don't know how to pray as
- 6:37we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with
- 6:41groanings which can't be uttered.
- 6:44He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit's mind,
- 6:47because He makes intercession for the Saints according to God.
- 6:52We know that all things work together for good for those who
- 6:55love God, for those who are called according to His purpose,
- 6:59for whom He fork knew. He also predestined to be
- 7:02conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first
- 7:05born among many brothers whom He predestined, those He also
- 7:08called, whom He called, those He also justified, whom He
- 7:13justified those He also glorified.
- 7:16What then shall we say about these things?
- 7:18If God is for us, who can be against us?
- 7:21He who didn't spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all,
- 7:24how would He not also with Him freely give us all things?
- 7:28Who could bring a charge against God's chosen ones?
- 7:31It is God who justifies. Who is He who condemns?
- 7:35It is Christ who died, yes, rather, who was raised from the
- 7:38dead, Who is at the right hand of God, who also makes
- 7:41intercession for us? Who shall separate us from the
- 7:44love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or
- 7:47persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
- 7:52Even as it is written for your sake, we are killed.
- 7:54All day long we were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
- 7:58No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him
- 8:01who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither
- 8:04death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things
- 8:08present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth,
- 8:13nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from
- 8:16God's love, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
