Transcript
- 0:12Hi guys it's Megan from Vigilante Vibes and I am here to
- 0:15talk about a comic that a listener actually asked me to
- 0:20make a video about and honestly I am happy to do it because it
- 0:23was so good. So I want to talk about The
- 0:26Infernal Hulk. They just released the second
- 0:30issue this past week, so I put off making this video for about
- 0:34a week or two so I could read it and it was fantastic.
- 0:39The writers, Philip Kennedy Johnson and then the artist Nick
- 0:43Klein, colorist Matt Wilson, letterer Corey Pettitte.
- 0:47It is a stacked creative team. I think Nick Klein is one of the
- 0:51most underrated artists of Marvel currently, so I think he
- 0:56more than shows him shows his talents and throughout The
- 0:58Infernal Hulk. So I'm gonna talk to you about
- 1:03the Infernal Hulk, not just the creative team.
- 1:05What happens in The Infernal Hulk Basically, Bruce Banner and
- 1:12the Hulk have been ripped apart into by an entity called the
- 1:18eldest. The Eldest possesses the Hulk's
- 1:22body to 'cause chaos, of course, and has taken over the Hulk, and
- 1:29Bruce Banner is nowhere to be found and he might be the only
- 1:32one that's able to help. So the Inferno Hulk, it starts
- 1:36very, very, it starts very calm. Just two guys at a construction
- 1:43job just talking about their lives.
- 1:45And then they're like, what was that?
- 1:47What was that sound? And then it switches to seeing
- 1:51the Infernal Hulk going on a rampage, taking down an entire
- 1:54town, and the US military is out of the town waiting for the
- 1:59Infernal Hulk, telling themselves it's not a big deal,
- 2:01guys, it's the Hulk. He was an Avenger.
- 2:03It's fine. No, no, it's not.
- 2:08The Infernal Hulk comes out and then kills people, possesses
- 2:13their body. Basically the Infernal Hulk is
- 2:16making an army of his own or her own.
- 2:19The eldest is a female, but the Hulk is a male.
- 2:23Show, I don't know. But so yeah, the Infernal Hulk
- 2:29is going through making their own army.
- 2:33And I will say, like, I've read a lot of Marvel Comics, but like
- 2:36this one sent shivers up my spine.
- 2:40The horror aspect of the comic was so pristinely written.
- 2:44Just like there's just such a build up of tension.
- 2:48There's so much happening. But there's also, it's very,
- 2:51very linear, the story. So it it keeps you locked into
- 2:57the comic until the very last page and you're just kind of
- 3:00like, but I want so much more. I want to see so much more.
- 3:05There's just, there's so much to love about it.
- 3:09You can jump in. All you really need to know is
- 3:12that Bruce Banner and the Hulk have been ripped apart.
- 3:15They're no longer one vessel. But I mean, it even tells you
- 3:21that you you could jump in whenever.
- 3:23But with the Infernal Hulk, I hadn't read the stuff before it.
- 3:27I've read plenty of Hulk comics, but I'm not a big Hulk fan.
- 3:31And jumping right in, I loved it.
- 3:35I I loved it. But then it's like, is it just a
- 3:40really strong start? Is there more to it?
- 3:44Is this just is it has it peaked?
- 3:47And then the second one came out and I'm here to tell you it did
- 3:49not peak. And it is still going.
- 3:52It is still continuing. Philip Kennedy Johnson continues
- 3:55this exciting time. And I loved it because the
- 4:00second one actually involves Neymour, who is my favorite
- 4:03toxic baddie. He's just in that comic.
- 4:08The Avengers are on a call with Neymour and they're trying to
- 4:12tell them, look, man, you got to get out of there.
- 4:14You got to do something. The Hulk was spotted over the
- 4:18Pacific and he might be coming for Atlantis.
- 4:23And Neymour's like, I am not scared, I do not care.
- 4:27You guys suck. I'm awesome.
- 4:30Peace. And then right before they get
- 4:33off the call, you hear a huge sound and The Avengers are like,
- 4:37dude, Oh no, bad things are about to happen.
- 4:40And Neymour's like, I gotta go. So Neymour's like, this ain't
- 4:47got me much. It's just a Hulk.
- 4:48Little does he know that is the Infernal Hulk.
- 4:52It is taken over by an evil entity that just has chaotic
- 4:58powers and has and just wants to be everyone's problem.
- 5:01So the the Infernal Hulk makes her presence very known, makes
- 5:08herself very known. And then what you don't realize
- 5:12is that her brother, her younger brother, is asleep in Atlantis.
- 5:17So that's who she's trying to take over.
- 5:20And the brother is way bigger than her.
- 5:23So it's like things are heating up spectacularly, and I am so
- 5:30here for it. I'm so excited.
- 5:32There's not many comics that are able to capture the horror
- 5:35aspect and continue to keep it going throughout the second
- 5:40issue. Like the vibe never changed.
- 5:43It was all gas, no breaks throughout the entire time and
- 5:48I'm just really excited to see more.
- 5:49So if you have checked out the Infernal Hulk please let me know
- 5:53in the comments what you thought because I just think it's too
- 5:56good not for people not to see it like the art. 10 out of 10
- 6:01Incredible. If you're watching this video on
- 6:03YouTube you will see the eye of pictures from the book so you
- 6:07can see the art for yourself. But if you are not, you'll have
- 6:11to use your imagination or just go read the comic, it's that
- 6:14good. So if you have read the comic,
- 6:16let me know in the comments what you thought.
- 6:18Did you like it? Did you love it?
- 6:20Where do you see it going? Because personally, I have no
- 6:23idea and I'm stressed about that.
- 6:26So with that being said, thank you for listening to my
- 6:29ramblings and have a marvelous day.
