- 0:39I'm Steve and I'm joined by Ash and US and it's international
- 0:45break, so we're going to look back on the transfer window
- 0:47window for Manchester United and preview the Derby coming up.
- 0:53So we'll get straight into it. Us lomanz in anana out talk to
- 1:00me. Yeah, it's interesting.
- 1:01I think goalkeeper was a position we discussed right
- 1:05going into the summer is 1 we'd probably want to address, but
- 1:09not high on the priority list, not, you know, as high as the
- 1:13like the attacking positions. What I like about this, yeah, in
- 1:18central midfield. What I like about this, though,
- 1:20is it's a name I hadn't heard of.
- 1:23If you asked me this name three months ago, I, I didn't, I
- 1:28didn't have a clue. And, and we've always said, why
- 1:32do we not sign players that you know, why, why don't we have
- 1:35scouts that can find the next guy?
- 1:38Why is it always someone I knew? And, and, and I think it was
- 1:41interesting that we were linked with Emmy Martinez or Debu
- 1:45Martinez, who he seems to be called that all of a sudden.
- 1:49And Lomond and I know, I know Ash, I don't know about you,
- 1:55Steve, you can tell me was more on the Martinez side of things.
- 2:00But I actually, I'm, I'm glad we went with the, the more unproven
- 2:04guy. I think Debu Martinez obviously
- 2:09has a good reputation, has played in the Premier League,
- 2:13but you know, age wise, the transfer fee being rumoured at
- 2:17something like 40 million wages, just not a transfer that
- 2:22appealed to me that much, as much as I could.
- 2:24We can both see, right? There's an issue with both Onana
- 2:28and by India. We need someone and you'd
- 2:31probably say Martinez is still an upgrade right on both of
- 2:34these guys. But I'm glad we went with a
- 2:36young, younger goalkeeper option.
- 2:39I think it's a bit risky. It'd be interesting to see if he
- 2:42gets thrown in straight away. I don't think so.
- 2:44I think by India started the season well enough.
- 2:47Apart from he can't the you know he hates crosses more than what
- 2:50what what is it Dracula that doesn't like crosses Dracula.
- 2:54I think it's Dracula thinking which which mythical.
- 2:57Dracula or Count Dicular? Which mythical where will stone
- 3:02like the full moon or something? Right.
- 3:04Yeah, right. So it doesn't like he he likes.
- 3:07I thought you're going to break out into Michael Jackson, A bit
- 3:10of thriller, then less than Dracula.
- 3:12That's a full moon tonight as well, but apart.
- 3:13From that he's he's he's he's done OK enough to probably, you
- 3:20know, start against City. But I I don't know.
- 3:22What do you think, Steve? Were you Debu Martinez?
- 3:26Were you Lomongs? Or were you thinking, do we
- 3:29really, do we really even need a goalkeeper, Donna?
- 3:32Kebab. Donna Rumour was the other one.
- 3:35Yeah, I I think that the, the Donna Rumour 1.
- 3:38I don't understand why people even discussing that because
- 3:41he's on like 500 grand a week or something and we're not doing
- 3:44that. Well, you're not the city.
- 3:46There's no surprise. Harlem's on a million, so it
- 3:49doesn't matter with their wage structure.
- 3:51No, but there's no surprise you back this signing because that's
- 3:54that's your style. It's always been that style,
- 3:56right? You like the younger guys, you
- 3:58like, you know, you said it yourself there, the unproven
- 4:01guys to a certain extent. Less on goalkeeper, I have to
- 4:04say I think goalkeeper's a bit risky.
- 4:06I think goalkeeper typically say, oh, experience have a bit
- 4:11of the experience factor. So I, I was thinking, oh, could
- 4:14we have got it can't have been possible because I think they
- 4:17would have done it like Emmy Martinez on loan for a year or
- 4:20something just to yeah, do the. That's what I was supporting.
- 4:23But but that that was obviously not, you know, not viable
- 4:27because if if you could do Martinez on loan, they would
- 4:30have done it. They inquired on that, I think
- 4:32early in the summer about loan. And they did.
- 4:34Phillip basically said no, right?
- 4:35So. Yeah.
- 4:36So for me it always comes back to what's your goal?
- 4:40So clearly the goal is to improve as a team, right?
- 4:42But for me there's a short term goal, there's a medium term goal
- 4:47and there's a long term goal. So medium term goal is Project
- 4:512028. Is it to win the league?
- 4:53Oh, you're going with the Omar line?
- 4:56It's hard to see. It makes sense, right to to
- 4:59target that. Whether we reach it or not is
- 5:01another question. But then you look at the short
- 5:03term. So yes, the signing of Lamont's
- 5:07medium term. I like the stats look good.
- 5:09I'm sure we'll come on to the stats.
- 5:11You know, the I'm sure like, you know, goals prevented top of
- 5:15Europe that I see, like you know, of all the top European
- 5:18leagues, even crosses. He seems quite proactive of
- 5:21Cross. He made the most saves in Europe
- 5:22last season I think as well. Yeah.
- 5:25So like you get it on paper and 20, it was at €20 million of
- 5:28pounds like roughly in that region like that.
- 5:31Region. So it's like, yeah, it's a, it's
- 5:34a good signing on paper. And this is the key point on
- 5:37paper. The reality is the pressure of
- 5:40Manchester United. We've seen it with an honour,
- 5:42we've seen it with many goalkeepers.
- 5:44Over the last 30 years. We can only name 2 successful
- 5:47goalkeepers since the 90s, right?
- 5:50Schmeichel and Vandisar and Dehaya, You know, to a certain
- 5:53extent, I guess you can put him in there, but you know, he's
- 5:56definitely, that's three goalkeepers in, you know, 30
- 6:00plus years. So we know the pressure of the
- 6:02job. And this is where I think short
- 6:03term goal, yeah, I like, you know, the thought of Martinez on
- 6:07loan. But even if that can't happen, I
- 6:09would have gone for the experience basically.
- 6:11So even if you had to sign Martinez and pay money, even if
- 6:15you had to do Donna rumour, I don't know what the exact wages
- 6:18are, but I would have liked to see experience coming through
- 6:21the door for the short term. That's my take, Ash.
- 6:25What do you think? Yeah, I mean look, like I said,
- 6:30no one knew about him, I'd say 3 weeks ago, let alone three
- 6:34months ago. So for anyone apart from the
- 6:38experts, you know, they're bullshitting whether they know
- 6:41he's good or not. The clips I've seen, I've tried
- 6:44to watch some like actual games as opposed to YouTube clips.
- 6:49It looks good in terms of if you're ticking what you want in
- 6:52a goalkeeper. He's got the height, he's got
- 6:54the size, He looks decent on one.
- 6:58On ones he likes to come out. There's debates about how good
- 7:03he is in the air in terms of at least he likes coming out.
- 7:06I like that in a goalkeeper and you know, whether he's going to
- 7:12be physical enough at the beginning in the Premier League,
- 7:15we'll find out. I agree with us.
- 7:17I can't see him starting in the Derby only because apart from
- 7:23Yeah Bay and being useless on crossing, he's actually been OK
- 7:27with passing. I'm I'm not really sure how good
- 7:30he's been with saving. But yeah, it's a lot of pressure
- 7:33obviously to come into the Manchester Derby on Sunday and
- 7:37start like to give a quick shout out to friend of the pod Ron,
- 7:42because I think all three of us were discussing him.
- 7:45I think last week came across really well on interview.
- 7:50Immediately I felt like I thought Edwin van Desaar in
- 7:54terms of the way he speaks accent wise, obviously being
- 7:57neighbours, being Belgium to the Dutch.
- 8:02And yeah, like, obviously he's up for the challenge and like,
- 8:06he seems like a good head. But to your point, Steve, a lot
- 8:11of boxes ticked, but you got to go out there and do it.
- 8:15And, and that's the the big pressure because the team's not
- 8:19really performing well. And it's, you know, it's, it's a
- 8:23tricky environment. You know, there's a lot of
- 8:26questions already about leadership at the back, so
- 8:31obviously to come into that environment being extremely
- 8:33young as well, especially for a goalkeeper because he's only had
- 8:36one full season with Royal Antwerp as well.
- 8:40So yeah, look, if this was Champ man and I signed him as like my
- 8:45#2 I would have big hopes for him to be the number one in the
- 8:49future for sure. So yeah, I guess my take is a
- 8:54little bit similar with the striker position.
- 8:56Like if it was to me, I would have gone with a more senior guy
- 9:00just because of like how poor last season was.
- 9:03And you know, I guess we'll go on to the games that has been
- 9:07this season as well. You know, like, you know, I
- 9:11hope, I hope obviously he starts off well, but like, it's a lot
- 9:14of pressure. Yeah, as you got some stats from
- 9:16for us on Le Mans. I don't know.
- 9:21I know that I saw them on Sky that his his shot stopping is
- 9:26excellent, right? I don't have them off the top of
- 9:28my head but. Who's the dude that you've been
- 9:32interacting with on Twitter? The is it the BBC guy?
- 9:37Human. Yeah.
- 9:38May Yeah, he did a profile on the on the BBC website and then
- 9:43impressive. Yeah, the stats, yeah.
- 9:45Yes. So I I the, the issue is
- 9:48obviously this is, you know, it's in a a lower level league.
- 9:52It's not big 5 league. He the stats where he's leading.
- 9:56Is this even farmers league? Yeah, it's it's and this is the
- 10:00thing. It's you know, there's it's the
- 10:02the level of competition in the Premier League, the the
- 10:05challenge that he's going to face, ignoring the pressure,
- 10:08just the the level of physicality and the level of
- 10:11quality that he's going to face is, is going to take a step up.
- 10:15The good thing, though, with goal kind of goalkeeping stats
- 10:17is they're not they're not as league.
- 10:22You know, you if you if you can save a shot, that's a good shot.
- 10:26You know it's a good shot, it's a good shot.
- 10:28So you think the conversion rate is like better for a goalkeeper
- 10:32as opposed to say like a striker who scored like 50 goals in
- 10:35Belgium? Yeah, because if you score, the
- 10:37issue with it, let's say a striker is you need to get those
- 10:41chances right. With a goalkeeper, you know, a
- 10:45shot is a shot. So assuming that, you know, he
- 10:50can can replicate his form, it shows that his reactions are
- 10:54good. That's something we know his
- 10:55reactions are good. I was listening to talk of the
- 10:58Devils as well and they had a Belgian expert on and he said,
- 11:01oh, we start the season some of this crossing, you know the
- 11:05cross claiming he's remember this, he's only had one full
- 11:08season. So you start the season a bit
- 11:10tentatively misjudging a few, and then he grew into the season
- 11:14so. Where?
- 11:15Where do you think I nicked the proactive word from?
- 11:18Just listening to Talk Talk the devil's part.
- 11:21I didn't even know that I like that, that I like the
- 11:26proactivity because it that shows another certain mentality,
- 11:30right? Bravery, he's going to make,
- 11:33he's going to make some mistakes and we need to get behind him.
- 11:36So, you know, it's an uncompromising environment.
- 11:39But for me personally, going back to the boring thing of
- 11:42finances, right, if if you if you bring in Donna rumour on 500
- 11:47grand or whatever, what city you've committed to and the 30
- 11:49million, it means that come January or come the summer, you
- 11:52don't have to budget for that midfielder, right.
- 11:55So and and the thing with Donna rumour as well, his stats are
- 11:59not good. He's had he had a bad season
- 12:01last season. He doesn't kick the balls.
- 12:03I'm really curious, you know, preview of the city game coming
- 12:06up later. I'm really curious to see him in
- 12:09the Premier League. So we'll get to see in the
- 12:11Martinez is still in in the league, right with Villa.
- 12:13Though he's got that and for and for the audio listeners, I'm
- 12:17pointing at my mind and mentality.
- 12:19He's still a champion goalkeeper, like regardless of
- 12:22like if he's. Got the if he's got the
- 12:24mentality why in the Liverpool game for example, where PSG not
- 12:27dominated the whole game, Harvey Elliott, they had one shot in
- 12:31the whole game, Harvey Elliott and it went through him, he
- 12:33basically. Was he not quality at Anfield?
- 12:36Donna Rumour. He was OK at Anfield.
- 12:38His his best game in the Champions League was Arsenal.
- 12:42Arsenal, sorry, yeah, oh, he was amazing against Arsenal.
- 12:46And yeah, he, he was, he was good at Anfield like.
- 12:50I think it was the Emirate. I think it was the Emirates
- 12:51game. The Emirates game, he was, no,
- 12:53he was, he was really good in in Paris as well.
- 12:58He just had one shot. They they had one shot and and
- 13:01he went through his hand like if that was.
- 13:03So No, no, no, no, no, you're talking Liverpool, I'm talking
- 13:05Arsenal. Oh yeah.
- 13:07The Arsenal leg he was, he was decent.
- 13:10Arsenal, he was good at Paris. Arsenal were decent.
- 13:12Like, I mean, Arsenal was being Arsenal was being like Stoke,
- 13:15but yeah. He was he was decent, but he's
- 13:19he's dodged for a big guy, he flaps it crosses like terribly.
- 13:23He he's terrible with his feet. So it's really interesting to
- 13:26see do this pep change. And it's the other.
- 13:30It just costs a shit load of money.
- 13:31And you're you're kind of tied into this guy, right.
- 13:34So you've you've committed to him.
- 13:35You can't let him go. Emmy Martinez is what, 33 or
- 13:38something? He's old.
- 13:40Yeah, yeah, he, he, he has makes if you look at his stats,
- 13:45similar to Arnana, lots of mistakes, average gold.
- 13:48Less mistakes. Let's get that right.
- 13:49Less mistakes. No, but his stats are basically
- 13:53the. Same.
- 13:53I know. I I checked him.
- 13:54I checked him first in the summer, but like Anon is in a
- 13:57league of his own and someone made a really good point about
- 13:59OK, nine are recorded, but like there's many others which
- 14:03probably are unrecorded. So but when I checked the
- 14:06Martinez stats early in the summer, yeah, I I agree.
- 14:10And I said this even off the cuff without looking at the
- 14:12stats. He does make mistakes, but it's
- 14:14less to an honour. And I know you were being
- 14:16complimentary about my goalkeeping skills earlier this
- 14:19week or last week, but the point is at the moment we do have to
- 14:23benchmark it against an honour because like he, well, he did
- 14:26have the gloves. But yeah, I do agree in that I
- 14:30would have only done it on loan. I can't spend 40 million pluses
- 14:34wages. For a 33 year old, we'll all
- 14:36agree if we same with Watkins, right?
- 14:38I was like, yeah, I'll have Watkins for a cheap price.
- 14:41I don't want to pay big money for Watkins.
- 14:42Same with Emmy Martinez or DB Martinez.
- 14:46I'm happy where? Did that even come from like?
- 14:48I got confused for a second. It's like.
- 14:49Is this another like defender or goalkeeper?
- 14:53Name and Romano kept using it and now everyone's using it.
- 14:56But again, like if he was on loan and it was cheap 100% I
- 15:00don't want to pay 40 million for this guy.
- 15:04The interesting I was the interesting thing with Onana as
- 15:08well, like he actually had a good first season.
- 15:11So that's the weird like he, he. You mean on expected unexpected
- 15:15goals, right? I think it was about 9 1/2.
- 15:18So 09 there is the so you know how I've always gone, oh you
- 15:22know what, 10 hugs second season was terrible and we should have
- 15:25fired him. And actually 10 hugs 2nd 10 hugs
- 15:28trending was as bad as Amrim was last season.
- 15:32It's just that he got lucky and a lot of that was so I was
- 15:36looking at the the numbers in both last season and the season
- 15:41before unexpected goal difference.
- 15:43We're 15th. So we're we're terrible under 10
- 15:45Hug, right? We all knew that we could see
- 15:48that with our eyes. We were watching the games going
- 15:50this is terrible. The other team is like throwing
- 15:53shots at us for fun. And I looked at the the numbers
- 15:59and we conceded 58 goals and we came 8th right, conceded 58
- 16:04goals, but the expected goals against was 69.
- 16:09It's insane how bad we were. And actually Onana was keeping
- 16:13Onana basically kept 10 hog season afloat.
- 16:16I think he's was he in goal for the penalty shootout?
- 16:19The Coventry one as well, if I'm not mistaken.
- 16:22Yeah, yeah. So like he did?
- 16:23He did. He cost us the Champions League
- 16:25though, right? He three goals in, he was
- 16:27terrible in the Champions League, yeah.
- 16:28And a lot of people remember that, a lot of.
- 16:30People remember that. No, no, no, he started, he
- 16:32started really badly. Like when he first came to the
- 16:34club he started really badly but then he he picked up and he
- 16:39basically kept because we we were getting terrible and he
- 16:43kept us in it with a lot of great saves.
- 16:45So think people always look at the mistakes but never really
- 16:48remember the saves. But we were conceding so many
- 16:50shots and so many shots. He was making lots of good
- 16:53saves. But he he last season, he was
- 16:56just bang average, like really average.
- 16:58So like the mistakes that the good saves were then outweighed
- 17:02by the mistakes. And then he's a confidence guy.
- 17:05His confidence was waning. So he was on the yeah, but I
- 17:09think he's especially a confidence guy, right?
- 17:12You could see that he'd lost it. And I think what was really
- 17:15interesting was I don't think that and all the reporting is we
- 17:19weren't really looking to replace him, but he came back
- 17:22with this injury. He then didn't start the first
- 17:25game. He then had pay rise contract is
- 17:28the big one, had a howler against Grimsby and I think
- 17:31that's what triggered the club to go.
- 17:34You know what? Enough is enough.
- 17:38What did I tell you? What did I tell you after
- 17:40Arsenal has You got to start trusting my gut, my friend I.
- 17:42Think the contract, I think the contract was the big one though,
- 17:45because Grim by Grimsby, he was done anyway because already by
- 17:50that point it's two games. So obviously that was reported
- 17:54by Lori Workwell from The Athletic.
- 17:56So obviously that's only come to like really in the last like 2
- 17:59weeks I guess. So I think that's the big one.
- 18:02And Reuben's probably taken it like he's taking it with
- 18:06everyone else. Rashford Garnacho with attitude
- 18:09and just like, if you don't want to be here or you got the
- 18:11arrogance to think like you can come back after a season like he
- 18:15had and ask for a new contract. Because essentially it's because
- 18:18we're not in the Champions League, right?
- 18:20And all all the players have taken a 25% wage here.
- 18:25So I I what is? A cup going to Turkey.
- 18:28Yeah, exactly. Probably the worst team though,
- 18:32out of all of them, out of the big ones he could have gone to.
- 18:35But at least he'll get good weather and good food.
- 18:37So yeah. I think it's, it's actually a
- 18:40smart move from the club to get rid of him because I don't think
- 18:43going into the season with these three in the mix would have been
- 18:47helpful for anyone really. At least it's a battle for two.
- 18:52And realistically, Lamont is going to win that battle,
- 18:54whether it's on the Derby or whether it's five games down the
- 18:58line, right? Like, surely by December, Lamont
- 19:01is going to be #1 surely? I'm going to put it out there
- 19:04right now though, because it's been like that this under
- 19:07Reuben. I just hope Reuben actually
- 19:10wanted him in the first place and it's not like a club sign in
- 19:15like some other signings that have happened in the last one to
- 19:18two years. What I don't understand why do
- 19:20you hope that? Isn't it better that the club is
- 19:22finally taking control over managers?
- 19:25No, because we we've seen the problems, right?
- 19:28I mean, we've massively argued. Is Ruben Amrim some kind of
- 19:32goalkeeping expert? Scouting expert?
- 19:34Like why should he decide who the goalkeeper?
- 19:36Is because he's the manager and you've seen how he's reacted and
- 19:40acted during his tenure. At times he can be like a
- 19:45spoiled little child in terms of his attitude to certain things.
- 19:49So the whole point is a club. We need to get away from this
- 19:52manager focused signings. Yeah, well, we'll find out,
- 19:55right? That's what I'm saying.
- 19:56Like I'm hope, because to Steve's point, I'm hoping by
- 20:00December he's the established #1 if he's not, that's a problem.
- 20:04And that's that'll be down to Reuben and what he thinks of Le
- 20:08Mond. So that's what I'm saying.
- 20:10I hope it was done. With absolute blessing from
- 20:13Reuben that he will actually use him.
- 20:15And we know we've seen this with other signings over the last
- 20:19like, you know, 12 months. Like is it a club signing or you
- 20:23know, did the did the manager really want him?
- 20:25Right? Like there's all the rumours
- 20:27about 10 Argon, which ones he wanted and didn't want or
- 20:30players are sold as well. But yeah, that's probably to
- 20:34something to watch. I just wanted to go back to the
- 20:38expected goals that an honour had saved for 2324, because I
- 20:43think I talked about this, you know, pre pod days, like David
- 20:48Dehaya in that scenario, in those scenarios, I wonder what
- 20:52his, you know, expected goal save would have been because.
- 20:57Oh. We've got it.
- 20:57I can get it for you. Oh yeah, he had an David Dehaya.
- 21:02Was no, But you won't. You won't.
- 21:04What I mean is, if Dehaya was in goal for that 2324 season, can
- 21:08you do that? No, you can't.
- 21:11You can't template it. But yeah, that's.
- 21:13What I'm saying? What you can do is you can go
- 21:15through someone's. We don't have all the numbers
- 21:20forever, but you can basically have a look at.
- 21:23So we've got on the public stat right, the Optus stats from
- 21:2720/17/18. David de Haya IN201718 is the
- 21:31reason Jose Mourinho is United came second and it's the same
- 21:35thing. I'm saying the differential that
- 21:38a goalkeeper can have if they have a standout season.
- 21:41So we were actually the 6th best team in the league that year and
- 21:44we finished second. Joseph says.
- 21:45This is my best achievement. I'm so great, could you how good
- 21:48I am? Could you look into this then
- 21:50like quickly if it's possible Onana either into Malana and
- 21:55Ajax to see have he has he got any season where it was like,
- 21:59you know that 2324 because his reputation obviously is more of
- 22:04a ball ball playing goalkeeper. Yeah, from that one game we will
- 22:09watch the Champions League final.
- 22:10No, no, no. He, his reputation at Barcelona
- 22:14and and Iax was that he was a ballplayer.
- 22:17Look, I got sucked in just like everyone else.
- 22:19I'm just for the record, like I'm not gonna listen to Italian
- 22:23pundits when they come to the Premier League, like the players
- 22:27from Syria. The.
- 22:28Thing with the problem with that is I think the Athletic might
- 22:32have written an article on this as well.
- 22:33The goalkeeping expert, The Athletic is that we didn't use
- 22:37his ball playing ability. We started going long and it's
- 22:39like the whole point of Anana is you, you his short passing,
- 22:43right? And 10 hog was like booting it
- 22:45long. Amrim as well hasn't really, we
- 22:48haven't really settled in that build up shape.
- 22:51And ideally you'd have, you know, Martinez there on one side
- 22:56and Euro on the other, you know, to do that early build up, but
- 22:59he's long kicking's not very good.
- 23:01So yeah, I can tell you right. So the he actually had two
- 23:07excellent seasons in 1920 and 2021 for Ajax shot stopping wise
- 23:12below average the season before he left.
- 23:15And actually in the in Surya, he was below average shot stopping
- 23:20in his in his one season into But if I go to the Champions
- 23:24League, this is where he this is where he made his his, his
- 23:28reputation. He made his reputation in that
- 23:31one game come. On No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 23:35It was across the Champions League.
- 23:36So in his Champions League season, they played 1313
- 23:41nineties. He in just 13 games saved 7 1/2
- 23:45goals more than expected, which is ridiculous, absolutely
- 23:49ridiculous. So he had this unbelievable,
- 23:53yeah, Champions League 6 season at Inter and it kind of built
- 23:57his reputation. The thing is, across all of
- 24:00these, I've watched Zenina for a while.
- 24:03He's always had a mistake in him.
- 24:04He's just one of these guys that stylistically and his technique
- 24:09as well, he's he's always had a mistake in him.
- 24:13So like. He called it Christ.
- 24:15You was just smiling. Yeah, you called.
- 24:17You called it. I remember I tried to be
- 24:19positive that summer because like once he's in, he's in,
- 24:22right? So even though I had my doubts
- 24:25and I've seen the mistakes that as it's talking about obviously
- 24:29having listening, yeah, I'm going to I'm going to equate in
- 24:32a second. But I'm giving the the build up
- 24:34because having listened to some of the pundits who follow Syria,
- 24:38I gave him the benefit of the doubt to be like, yeah, come on,
- 24:41he's going to be really good for us and obviously going to
- 24:45progress us. And the famous line from Steve
- 24:47that some of was he's the next Bartez.
- 24:51And he turned out to be the clown version of Bartez as
- 24:54opposed to the World Cup winning.
- 24:55I said he could be. Yeah, he could be.
- 24:57But any, any, I guess he did to a certain degree.
- 25:00But the key is, the key here is we could talk about stats all
- 25:04day. People remember moments, so
- 25:07let's go back. To.
- 25:08That's why you should look at stats.
- 25:10By the way, no. No, no, yeah.
- 25:11That's exactly the I want to just be clear the exact reason
- 25:14you should look at stats people's biases and you need
- 25:17both. You need both.
- 25:18Yeah, you need both, but the one the whole the whole the reason
- 25:22of looking at stats saying, OK, let me increase the sample size
- 25:24and take away my biases. And if we include all the
- 25:27mistakes that he's made in the in The thing is he doing well
- 25:30last season, not good enough. The season before, actually, he
- 25:35was really good at not in the Champions League, in the Premier
- 25:38League. So you can use the stats to try
- 25:40and take. Yeah, you can use the stats.
- 25:41The other thing that's interesting on stats is where
- 25:43Aynana is unlucky. I looked at the stats on
- 25:47mistakes leading to goals. Every time he seems to make a
- 25:50mistake, it's led to a goal. And I was thinking, wait a
- 25:52minute. I've seen other goalkeepers
- 25:54make, like David Rye, for example, makes a lot of
- 25:56mistakes. You're saying he's the David
- 25:57Moyeser goalkeeping, Yeah. No, it's, it's just, it's just,
- 26:01it's just sometimes if you don't have a good defence for.
- 26:03Example. No, I I I get your point.
- 26:05I've seen other goalkeepers make mistakes and it doesn't lead to
- 26:08goals. It doesn't lead to a goal.
- 26:09So like, for example, often David Ray makes a passing
- 26:12mistake or a parrying mistake, but then either he makes up for
- 26:15himself or Gabrielle and Saliba make up for him.
- 26:18We every time Anana's made a mistake, it has basically led to
- 26:23a goal. I wish David Royo wore a United
- 26:25shirt because the amount of stick you give that guy.
- 26:29He's he's one of the best goalkeepers in the what?
- 26:31Are you saying Anano's unlucky now?
- 26:32Is that? Is that the narrative?
- 26:33No, no, he, he, he, he has been unlucky, but he also sometimes
- 26:38you have bad luck in life and that bad no.
- 26:40No, hold on, no, no hold on, no. This is top level sport, right?
- 26:43You only have to go back to episodes to listen to Carlos
- 26:45Brathway talking about top level sport.
- 26:48Top level sport is about how you deliver in the big, big moments
- 26:52and that's something stats will never cut.
- 26:54No hold on, hold on. The stats will never quantify.
- 26:56That no, but this kind of point onan has actually been to a
- 26:58champions great great. This is where I.
- 27:01Want people that can deliver at Old Trafford in Champions League
- 27:04games in big time. Wearing that green shirt.
- 27:08That's what I want, and stats will never give you that.
- 27:10Stats is good to a certain extent, but on top of that, you
- 27:13need to apply common sense. You need to look at the big
- 27:16moments and there's these two things called your eyes, which
- 27:19we shouldn't forget. About And This is why I think
- 27:22people wanted Emmy Martinez, because they remember the World
- 27:24Cup. Yeah.
- 27:25And he was brilliant. And.
- 27:27That's AI don't know. I mean, I don't, I don't know if
- 27:30I mean look for your son headline for sure.
- 27:33But like I said, I I've watched Demi Martinez enough and even
- 27:38without looking up the stats right.
- 27:40So what what are you looking at then?
- 27:41No, no, no. That's not true.
- 27:43Do you guys know why we got an honour?
- 27:45I'll tell you why we were there at Wembley.
- 27:47Dehaya fucked up in the FA Cup final and that's when Tanhag
- 27:51decided he's changing the goalkeeper and that's what I
- 27:54mean by moment. It was the right thing to
- 27:56change. No, but you were being
- 27:57disingenuous about Martinez Villa.
- 27:59But like he's he's been decent. He's made mistakes and and this
- 28:03is the thing going back to Steve's point, the eyes
- 28:07immediately when we were linked with him, I said he's he's
- 28:11better than an honour in the air, which is a star.
- 28:13He does make mistakes. I said that I've seen him make
- 28:17mistakes where the ball trickles through his hands and stuff like
- 28:20that. And then went, once I looked at
- 28:21the stats, you know, just based. On when he played us right.
- 28:24Red card. To be honest, I'm not bothered
- 28:26about that because like, it was a dead game anyway, right?
- 28:29And like, wasn't it a game for Villa if it cost?
- 28:31Yeah, but the goalkeeper, the goalkeeper does come out, right?
- 28:33There's loads of goalkeepers that come out in that scenario.
- 28:36And yeah, he fouled him and he got sent off, so big deal right
- 28:39there. How?
- 28:39Many red cards have goalkeepers had in the Premier League in the
- 28:42last season. Not that many, right?
- 28:44Yeah, yeah, he was to your point, right?
- 28:47If I'm. Yeah.
- 28:47But if I'm going to be like you, you could say he's unlucky
- 28:51because goalkeepers do you rush out loads and when they
- 28:54shouldn't, right? But that's a different debate.
- 28:56Make mistakes as well, like. And that's that's what we're
- 29:00discussing here. Does he make mistakes?
- 29:02He does. There's not many he does, but he
- 29:04he makes less mistakes than Anana.
- 29:05He's much better in the air. And statistically you've looked
- 29:08into that as well and you know that Martinez is better in the
- 29:11air. So like, if we're talking about
- 29:13like trying to profile Jay's favourite word, friend of the
- 29:17pod, a new goalkeeper. Like, yeah, like I said, if it
- 29:22was online loan and we could have got it done, I definitely
- 29:25would have done it for Aziz. I would have done it too, 100%
- 29:28on loan. 100% would have been a great, great move.
- 29:31I just didn't want to sign in for 40 million.
- 29:34That's fair. And I get that with the budget
- 29:36constraints. So Ash, like looking at the
- 29:38transfer window as a whole now, now that it's, you know, pretty
- 29:41much closed. Now the dust has settled.
- 29:44Are you happy with the business overall?
- 29:46No, because we didn't get a central midfielder as a, as a
- 29:50minimum. Like we needed one and really we
- 29:53needed to. We talked about it in Bilbao.
- 29:55I think it was #2 on our list. So I'm really disappointed that
- 30:01we didn't add to the pool. I know there's going to be a lot
- 30:05of people saying, well, Bruno's got one spot.
- 30:08Hopefully Cobby's taken spot 2, especially BE Steve.
- 30:12And then it's almost like a dogfight between, you know,
- 30:15Casamiro and Agate, I guess to, you know, play the other minutes
- 30:19because we don't have that many minutes.
- 30:21But I'm yeah, you know, like when you, when the window shut
- 30:27and I just looked at it, I can't remember.
- 30:29It was like 2-3 years ago. It was like a similar feeling.
- 30:32It's like, have we really not signed one single midfielder,
- 30:35even if it's online? So, you know, again, Jay
- 30:38mentioned it Paulina from spurs, that deal was there to be done.
- 30:43I think we spoke about it on the pod a few weeks ago.
- 30:45Yeah, you can talk about like he's he didn't play that many
- 30:48minutes for by him, but Thomas Teacle is is a weirdo anyway.
- 30:52So I, I would have done that as a, as a minimum and like for the
- 30:58people who are going to say, we tried to get Carlos Belay, but
- 31:01it's like there are more midfielders than Carlos Baleva,
- 31:04especially with the valuation that Brighton were coming up
- 31:08with. So we had to do better in that.
- 31:11Look, we spoke about it before in that in Boomu Kunya and
- 31:17Sheshko, they're good signings, but you, you needed to back up
- 31:23the midfield. I just can't believe like we're
- 31:26going. To medium term, medium term,
- 31:28short term. This is what I'm talking about.
- 31:29Right, Yeah. I mean, we're just, we're just
- 31:31going to go into we, yeah, we're going to go into the rest of the
- 31:35seat. Well, this this window between
- 31:38now to January with Bruno as obviously our our main central
- 31:43midfielder, Kobe mainly, we don't know what's happening.
- 31:47I mean, he's luckily stayed at the club and then yeah, it's a
- 31:52complete lottery, right? He got a he he hasn't done that
- 31:56great on on the ball since he's been at the club.
- 32:00He can run a bit and Castimiro, you know, his legs are shot.
- 32:05So he will give you moments, but he won't give you enough over
- 32:11like a season. So like, you know, midfield was
- 32:15already a worry going into the season.
- 32:19A few games have been played and everyone is talking about
- 32:21midfield. So yeah, I, you know, I don't
- 32:24know what to rate it. Like I, you know, I think we
- 32:28spoke about the order as well in terms of like if the budget was
- 32:32only 200 million. I think Ron spoke about this on
- 32:35the pod a couple weeks ago. If the if the budget was like
- 32:37you got 200 million to spend, like, and we've spent it on
- 32:41those three. And this is the point.
- 32:43It's not a slant against any of Cunya and Boomu Francesco, but
- 32:50we we have not added to the midfield pool.
- 32:53What do you think, Steve? Yeah, I agree.
- 32:56Again, I go back to short term, medium term.
- 32:58I think we've made some good medium term term signings like
- 33:03the goalkeeper, obviously we talked about him, could be a
- 33:06good long term fit for the club. And Bumu Kunya, yes, you could
- 33:10say they're more immediate impact, possibly Premier League
- 33:13experience. So again.
- 33:14They have to be. But Chesco, right, that's that's
- 33:17the big one. We talked about striker and
- 33:20that's clearly a more medium to long term signing.
- 33:22We can't expect him to hit the ground running.
- 33:24So like overall, I think it's a pretty good window.
- 33:28But yeah, the concern on centre midfield is clearly there.
- 33:31I think we've all got that right as. 100% I think one thing to
- 33:35bear in mind is, and I think we all agree we'll never, we're
- 33:39never going to solve all the problems in this in one window.
- 33:42So we haven't solved the central midfield issue.
- 33:46The fact that we're, we were linked to Belieber shows that
- 33:50we've identified that as something to look at right as as
- 33:53a next priority. Overall, I'm happy with the
- 33:57window. I think in the context of when
- 34:01we finished the Europa final and we said, OK, we, we've, our
- 34:05budget's going to be cut. We heard talk of the budget
- 34:08being 90 million and it's kind of come to that about 90 million
- 34:11ish, maybe a bit more Netspend. You know, fella, talk about
- 34:16Netspend, don't talk about spend, talk about Netspend.
- 34:19And then we managed to the bomb squad, right?
- 34:22We managed to get rid of Garnacho.
- 34:25Sancho's out on loans, his wages are off.
- 34:27Rashford's out on loans, so his wages are off.
- 34:30Anthony, we finally got rid of, thank God.
- 34:32I think Milassie is the only one sticking around.
- 34:36And then we've used that money on I genuinely when they signed
- 34:40and I still believe this. I think Embumo and Cunha are the
- 34:45second and third best, whichever order, I don't know what order
- 34:47you want to put them in, are the second and third best players in
- 34:50our squad now. So when you sign the second and
- 34:52third best player they got, you know, two of the top three
- 34:56players now in your squad and new players, you got to say
- 34:58those are good and they've they look good already.
- 35:03Chesco I think is the right profile in our favourite word in
- 35:08that it's the medium term option and it's good.
- 35:13Time will tell. Could be another Hoyland, right?
- 35:16Could be another Hoyland hopefully.
- 35:20But if you look at the striker market and who who moved around
- 35:23Visa for 50 million? 55 wasn't it?
- 35:29Yeah, I can't remember the exact voltamon day for whatever 80 odd
- 35:35something euro. Strand Larson Like.
- 35:37Was it 50 million? Walls wanted the money.
- 35:40We've paid for these initially. I'm like that's a lot of money.
- 35:44Like when an tier Langa goes to 55,000,000, you get that some of
- 35:48that net spend, right? We made some money on on these
- 35:50on these sell on clauses. What do we have?
- 35:52Our sales what do you make of our sales there like gone
- 35:55actually 40 million and that's the he's the only one we've
- 35:57properly sold right rest of them are on loans.
- 35:59So what do you make of that? Like, shouldn't we've?
- 36:00Got more so Garnacho I think, I think he to me that's 15,000,000
- 36:07lower than he should be. But I think it's basically
- 36:09Garnacho has gone, I don't want to go anywhere else in Chelsea.
- 36:13And he's been an absolute tit about this.
- 36:16It sounds like Steve. We need to have a discussion on
- 36:19which is better, London or Manchester, because it sounds
- 36:21like he just wanted to live in London.
- 36:23Apparently he was, you know, have you watched the David
- 36:26Beckham? If you haven't, I'd recommend
- 36:28it. The David Beckham dock.
- 36:30Is it on Amazon or Netflix? I can't remember which one it
- 36:32is. The recent one, is it Netflix?
- 36:34Have you watched it? Yeah, he's brilliant, right.
- 36:36And he's constantly going down to London to visit Posh.
- 36:40Sounds like Garnacho's wife, girlfriend, partner or whatever,
- 36:44just seems to like London and he's just doing the same thing.
- 36:48So it just seems like the London Selfridges.
- 36:51Yeah, determined to go to Chelsea.
- 36:53Chelsea won a Tony off at 25 in the end.
- 36:56Get I was once he had gone at 40.
- 36:59I'm like, yeah, it's it's below for me the if you look at like I
- 37:04said the other signings they sold madoeke for a 50 million to
- 37:10me Garnacho Madoeke similar levels of players.
- 37:13It should have been 5055, but I'm happy he's gone.
- 37:16I I was worried Sancho wouldn't go anywhere.
- 37:18I'm happy Villa are paying his wages good like done Rashford.
- 37:23I'm really when. You say when you say good
- 37:25though. When you say good you're saying
- 37:27good out of bad options, right? Good.
- 37:29Would have been selling properly.
- 37:31Get rid of him right? Surely.
- 37:33Well, yeah, Raymond put 20 million on the table and he said
- 37:35no. Yeah, we had a bid accepted, but
- 37:37this this guy is on such big this the problem is any or so
- 37:41trying to kind of clean up the mess of such a big mess that
- 37:45they're picking up that they're like, OK, they were willing to
- 37:48sell him for 20 bid accepted and he's he's basically said no
- 37:52because. He signed a stage.
- 37:55Yeah, the genius at recruitment, Ollie, the reason I actually
- 37:58asked that question. But in the end, Sancho's done
- 38:00the right thing, hasn't he? He's stuck around and he's got a
- 38:02premier. League No, I I asked that
- 38:03question on behalf of listener Jay, who you constantly
- 38:07criticises our sales rights. So I agree that they're tough
- 38:10sales, the wages are high. But yeah, that's the reason I
- 38:13put the question to you on the sales because.
- 38:14I've got a question for you guys, just on, I guess,
- 38:18allocation of funds. So you both said you would have
- 38:23wanted a midfielder. So would you have sacrificed
- 38:27either Mbimu or Kenya in order to get a central midfielder?
- 38:33So you don't have one of those players.
- 38:36It depends who the problem is, and I think it really depends
- 38:39who the midfielder is, like you're saying.
- 38:43You need more money, Brighton. Brighton didn't want to sell
- 38:46him, so if it was belabour awarding, you'd be like, yeah,
- 38:48brilliant. Like, you know this guy's Yeah.
- 38:51But let's say a £60 million player, sixty £60 million
- 38:56central midfielder. Who's either?
- 38:58Been the Lamont The Lamont of centre midfielder has all the
- 39:01data points. But we no because you can buy a
- 39:03Lamont's for like 30-40 million from France.
- 39:07Yeah, the issue I have with that is I haven't.
- 39:09What I always look at is what have other people done in
- 39:13business wise? And you mentioned Shao
- 39:15Paolinios, it's great. Like look at what other people
- 39:18have done. Would you have done the same?
- 39:19I haven't seen a midfielder move in this window where I've been
- 39:23like, oh, why didn't we get him right?
- 39:25A lot of it's been these winger forward type of move, right, I
- 39:29think for example. Could you?
- 39:31Would you want a Zuba Mende as an example?
- 39:34No because I don't think he's the profile that Reuben wants.
- 39:38But it's perfect for Arsenal. But I think for example
- 39:42Liverpool should sign Adm. They wanted super Mende before
- 39:46they didn't get him. They haven't gone in for a
- 39:48midfielder. They've signed like they've done
- 39:51the same as UP. Why have they got EKI, TK and
- 39:54Isaac? It seems like overkill in the
- 39:56forward line. They've signed 2 super attacking
- 39:59full backs but haven't signed a centre back all all.
- 40:02They To be fair, they were in for gay he but like, why do you
- 40:04leave it so long that the gay he deal doesn't happen and you've
- 40:07left yourself short centre back? That's that's yeah, that's
- 40:09Liverpool's fault, totally. Yeah, and it's kind of like, oh,
- 40:12if they had gone and got someone, the problem is as well,
- 40:15even if Liverpool had got that player, he couldn't come to us.
- 40:18So like when people say, oh, why didn't we sign Hezac?
- 40:20Like Hezac's not joining us, right?
- 40:23Why didn't we sign Bert? No, but let's you're.
- 40:25Going to join us? Let's say a superstar French
- 40:28midfielder who's who's 60 million, like I'm giving you the
- 40:31option and he. And he covers your profile.
- 40:34No, no, no. But my point is I haven't seen
- 40:36that move from, you know, an Aston Villa, etcetera, if that
- 40:42move. So I'd probably say maybe
- 40:45someone like Elliot Anderson could be good, but would Forest
- 40:48sell him? I obviously want more to
- 40:50believer but they OK. That's a good example.
- 40:53Let's say Elliot Anderson puts his foot down transfer requests.
- 40:57I'm giving you Elliot Anderson for say 60 odd million.
- 41:02And yeah, you need to sacrifice Kunyaro and Boomu.
- 41:04You don't need, you don't have to say which one, but I'm just
- 41:07saying would you have taken that midfielder?
- 41:10That's a good example actually. I think the I think for the
- 41:13results of the team this season, the results will be better.
- 41:19I think we've left ourselves with a hole in the midfield that
- 41:25I think we could fill in in the number 10 position because you
- 41:29can always move Bruno up. Mason Mount is hard like is he
- 41:32going to be fit? He's not going to be fit.
- 41:34Let's just call it now. He won't stay fit the whole
- 41:36season. So you can you can move Bruno up
- 41:39one and then play Cobby and then you have your new midfielder guy
- 41:42as well. And I think that would be a more
- 41:43balanced team overall. What I would say is I love
- 41:48watching Cooney. I think he's great.
- 41:50I think he's going to do really well.
- 41:51So it's it's kind of like I am. I really like the guy.
- 41:55No, but this is the thing like like I said right at the
- 41:58beginning, that's. For the balance.
- 41:59Yeah, that's what I mean. It's for the team.
- 42:01There's a weak link now in the the the and I think they would
- 42:06have done something if Casimiro left.
- 42:08I think the issue that carrying this Casimiro wages on him.
- 42:13I think when Casimiro is, I think it's like 15,000,000 a
- 42:15year on on wages. Is he?
- 42:19Expiring next summer. Expires in the summer so so he's
- 42:23gone along with sunshine. So that's big wages off the off
- 42:27the books yeah. So I think they'll they'll
- 42:29address it. And I think that what happened
- 42:33was they the better question for this short term, right, for the
- 42:39short term, not for the medium or long is could you have
- 42:43sacrificed Benjamin Shesh, go inside the midfielder?
- 42:47And then because could you get away with playing and Boomer
- 42:50upfront, playing Ahmad or Bruno in the number 10 slot and buying
- 42:54a midfielder? Because I think Cunha's short
- 42:58term, like I said, Cunha and Burmo are going to have short
- 43:01term impact, while Cesco, I think it's going to take a
- 43:04little bit longer of time. And that's the better question.
- 43:07And I think for the next season, you might have been better off
- 43:11with the midfielder. However, I like the fact we went
- 43:14for a #9 because I think you need to have a number 9 in this
- 43:17team and I think it's good we've gone for Cesco and I think
- 43:21Reuben, I don't. It means it's capped our ability
- 43:25to maybe get in the top five. But can Reuben get away with it?
- 43:30Can he? Get to, I'll come back in.
- 43:32January and see how he said what would you let's let's let's say
- 43:35we'll keep let's keep Kunia and Bomo.
- 43:38What would you have done, Cesco? Like what would you have done?
- 43:40I would have kept. I would have done Cesco, most
- 43:44likely. I wouldn't have done him.
- 43:46Boo me because I'm kind of, kind of assume that Kanye was done so
- 43:51long ago. It's almost like it was it was
- 43:55always going to be the case. We know we went for his name
- 43:59escapes me, the poor man's Jamie Vardy Delap, we went for him.
- 44:06He was going to cost 30 million because of his buyout from
- 44:09Ipswich. He turned us down, so we moved
- 44:12to Imbumu. We keep saying this word,
- 44:16different profile, etcetera, but that's where like my 60 million
- 44:22for someone like Elliot Anderson would have been done.
- 44:26I'll come back to the chefs go in a second, Steve.
- 44:29So on that scenario we would use Elliot Anderson.
- 44:33So I think you were going to say yes, like would you have done a
- 44:37central midfielder for 60 million rather than and in
- 44:41Boomer and in Kenya? And do you want to actually put
- 44:44a name who you wouldn't have gone with?
- 44:45Yeah, I can't really give you a name because I don't look at the
- 44:48data like the scouts do, but I would have sanctioned A
- 44:51sentiment fielder over one of those attackers.
- 44:53Yeah, for sure. No, no, but I'm saying like.
- 44:56Which one would you have sacrificed?
- 44:58Yeah, Kunyaro and boom. Yeah.
- 44:59So like or Cesco Or Cesco, Yeah. Probably, yeah, it would
- 45:03definitely would be one of them. Boomu or Kenya?
- 45:05Probably, yeah, probably in Boomu.
- 45:07I like the look of Kenya. See.
- 45:10I actually did this is this is this is where I will definitely
- 45:13disagree. We can finally properly
- 45:14disagree. I think in Boom is going to be
- 45:17an unbelievable signing. I think he's going to be really
- 45:20good. I think as much as I enjoy
- 45:22watching Cunha, I think Mount and Bruno can play that
- 45:25position. Yeah, prob.
- 45:28You know what? You're probably right.
- 45:29And I think, you know, maybe I changed my mind, but I think
- 45:34you're actually right because, you know, numbers and look,
- 45:37let's keep it simple. And also left footedness, like
- 45:39left foot off the right. I was, I was about to say #10
- 45:42yeah, I was going to say the left footedness.
- 45:45But also I, you know, when I was picking my FPL squad originally,
- 45:50I fought over the season. And Beam is going to do more
- 45:54like with assists and goals. But yeah, I think it's that
- 45:57stylistic thing that a lot of people obviously have gone with
- 46:00Kenya, but like, it's a little bit of an unknown quantity.
- 46:03OK. So Mr Ruben out, tell us where
- 46:07Ruben should be finishing given the squad and given your concern
- 46:11on CM that you just highlighted? Well, they should have sorted
- 46:14that, so that's on them, whether it's Ruben or the club.
- 46:18So he needs to finish in a European position, he needs to
- 46:23qualify. It's a top 8.
- 46:26Is that? Is it top 7 or 6?
- 46:29It depends. It'll depend on a few things.
- 46:31One is the 5th place of the Champions League.
- 46:34There's two spots for highest performing European countries
- 46:39now. Last season we had Chelsea in
- 46:41the Conference League, United and Spurs in the Europa League.
- 46:44We don't have that level of depth, so it's not as obvious
- 46:46and clear that we'll get that. We should still get the extra
- 46:49spot. The other thing that comes into
- 46:51it is cup competitions. If if one of the top five wins
- 46:56Carabao or FA, it drops taking position.
- 46:58So you have to also wait for the season to evolve.
- 47:01The other way he could qualify is the 10 hard way of winning
- 47:04the FA Cup because the the the Carabao is out of the picture
- 47:07because of Grimsby. So.
- 47:10He's not a Cup manager, so you know, you can clip that up when
- 47:13he wins the FA Cup, but he's not a Cup manager so actually.
- 47:16You saying you saying conference league is enough for you
- 47:18European conference? No, of course it's not.
- 47:20But like, I've just got to be realistic, look, because I'm,
- 47:25I'm basing it on in terms of like what we should always
- 47:29challenge for, which is. No.
- 47:31Tell me what what do you expect from Reuben?
- 47:34What specifically? What competition do we need to
- 47:36qualify for him to have done enough this season?
- 47:39To to not get fired Europa. Given the window as well, you
- 47:43know you mentioned. Needs to finish?
- 47:45No, because that's that's their problem, right?
- 47:47So like if they want to leave themselves in central midfield,
- 47:50that's that's up to Reuben because he's obviously gone all
- 47:53eggs on Bruno. So he's got to finish Europa or
- 47:57or get 6 or 7 win. In a cup or win the FA Cup,
- 48:01Yeah, Getting into Europa is your, is your.
- 48:04No, because if he finishes like 15 from wins the FA Cup, he's
- 48:08gone. You can't do that, not with the
- 48:11players that he's brought in. And you can't have another
- 48:13season finishing like anywhere between like 15 to 7.
- 48:17OK. So you want you want to qualify
- 48:18via the league then basically. Yes, right.
- 48:20Yeah. OK.
- 48:21And us. Because I because I want to see
- 48:22a style. OK, fair.
- 48:25US, Yeah, I think, I think the top 4 is fairly locked I think.
- 48:30And then you've got another group, and I'm with Ash.
- 48:35I would say that I want to see a top seven finish and that that
- 48:41should get you the Europa League, a top 7 because it's
- 48:44usually like 6:00 and 7:00, but it might be the Conference
- 48:47League, but top seven finish. I was going to say based on what
- 48:51we're talking about, where it could change in terms of league
- 48:54position and if he's unlucky for some reason and we finish, you
- 48:58know, via the conference because of our league position, OK,
- 49:01fine. But he's got to finish in and
- 49:04around 6th, 7th in that region. You, Steve.
- 49:07Seems seems fair to me. Yeah, I'd agree with that.
- 49:10I think given the window, I think that's a fair ask.
- 49:12He's been backed, you know, like we said, he's.
- 49:15Also the lack of European competition, right?
- 49:18Yeah, Training ground to to implement, yeah.
- 49:21No cup game till January now as well.
- 49:23Yeah, so like he's got everything there.
- 49:25We've, like I said, in my opinion to excellent short term
- 49:29signings. I know Steve is saying a medium
- 49:31long, but two guys who I think have immediate impact.
- 49:34Bruno Fernandez is stuck around as well.
- 49:37I forgot about Erasmus on the outgoing.
- 49:39So the net spend literally is basically what we discussed,
- 49:42right? Because there's an there's, I
- 49:44know it's not a firm obligation, but if Napoli qualify for the
- 49:48Champions League, which I think they will.
- 49:49The conditional obligation conditional.
- 49:52Obligation Conte is going to deliberately not finish the
- 49:56Champs. Yeah.
- 49:58But you know, if, if either way like you know, he he's, he looks
- 50:03like he's gone as well. So you can kind of count that as
- 50:06a point of an outgoing as well, right?
- 50:08Like wages off, a bit of a loan fee I think we're getting from
- 50:11him. And about 7 million.
- 50:13Him to leave and yeah, potential for him to leave in this it
- 50:16shows as well. Like I always tell you about
- 50:18Steve is when you sign a young player, the downside should be
- 50:23more limited. He's been atrocious yet somehow
- 50:26because of his age and because of his low wages, we've still
- 50:30managed, what, €50 million potential total recoup from the
- 50:3475 that we paid. I don't think there were some
- 50:37add-ons as well. You know, they're saying that
- 50:40some like Champions League qualification was partly so like
- 50:44we've made a loss on him. But it just shows when you sign
- 50:46a younger player, he's clearly going to smash it though.
- 50:50He's he's going to be like like Scott Mctominy and he's going to
- 50:53get like, you know, 15 to 20 Siriagos of all the play of all
- 50:57the team this thing. I think it's a really good move
- 50:59for him because Conte Conte's Napoli have Lukaku playing that
- 51:05so and Lukaku's injured. So he's like straight in there.
- 51:07He's going to feel the love. Pizza in Naples is absolutely
- 51:11world class. He's got tomatoes.
- 51:13He's going to be next summer. He's like like like mctomany
- 51:16was. Yeah, but balloon door
- 51:19nomination here we come. And maybe there's an add on in
- 51:21there as well. Yeah, probably.
- 51:24OK, so right before we wrap up and preview the Derby, I just
- 51:30got a very quick question for you both.
- 51:33Two people that I believe is fair to say.
- 51:35I'm not going to give away your age here, but you saw both Owen
- 51:38and Rooney breakthrough as teenagers, right?
- 51:41So it's a hot debate at the moment who was better at that
- 51:441718 year old mark. So Ash, I'll start with you.
- 51:48Who's the better player out of Owen or Rooney at that age?
- 51:52So with the eye test for me, it's got to be Wayne Rooney.
- 51:58It has to be. I mean, he started at 16 and I
- 52:04still remember that first goal against Arsenal.
- 52:08They were the Champions at the time on a really long unbeaten
- 52:12run. And yeah, collected the ball
- 52:15from from the air, took it down and then like, free kicks,
- 52:19they'll put it in the top bins against David Seaman.
- 52:21And that was the start of Wayne Rooney.
- 52:23I still remember watching him on Sky Sports News, like scoring, I
- 52:28think a hat trick in the youth FA Cup final against Spurs.
- 52:33And bearing in mind this was like youth football, he was
- 52:38thunderbasting it into like the top corner at like 15, like a
- 52:43man who was like 30. So, you know, the, the Wayne
- 52:49Rooney that I remember at 1617 was just unbelievable.
- 52:54But this is the thing, if you look at the stats, his stats
- 52:59weren't actually that great. I mean, obviously it's a little
- 53:01bit compensated by the fact Everton were a worse team than
- 53:04Liverpool when Owen joined. But I just got so many great
- 53:09memories of Wayne Rooney, like dribbling, even his tenacity,
- 53:13right? Like he's obviously A-Team
- 53:15player as well. So like, you know, he put
- 53:18Cristiano up in the sky. You know, we were a slight
- 53:21tackle at Old Trafford, I think on his debut actually, when
- 53:24really I think it was the year before he joined us.
- 53:27So yeah, I mean, look, the short answer is I'd go Wayne Rooney.
- 53:31But I definitely want to give a shout out to my Chloe because
- 53:34again, sixteen 1718 years old, I mean, just what a what a
- 53:39striker. Like again, early days, I
- 53:43remember him scoring goals for I think England's under fifteens
- 53:48and everyone knew about him. So these were the days where you
- 53:51didn't have social media, no YouTube, but everyone knew about
- 53:55Michael Owen, similar to Wayne Rooney actually was well, you
- 53:58know. So, yeah, but when he when he
- 54:02got into the Liverpool team, his first full season, he was
- 54:07absolutely blistering. And I think he's already spoken
- 54:10about it because, you know, he recently had an interview with
- 54:13Rio. I think he won the Golden Boot
- 54:15in the Premier League at age 17 and 18, I think it was.
- 54:20And some of the goals to what Wayne Rooney said, I used to
- 54:24copy those goals in the back garden and in, you know, on the
- 54:28playground. Obviously the one that everyone
- 54:31remembers is obviously England versus Argentina.
- 54:35You know, what a goal, what a moment.
- 54:38I think as we'd agree in the 30 odd years we've been watching
- 54:43England, that has to be one of the best moments.
- 54:46You know, watching England that that Michael Owen goal and the
- 54:50Brian Moore commentary as well ATV days.
- 54:54So yeah, I've got to give it to Owen.
- 54:58Like, fantastic striker up until the big injury.
- 55:04He had a massive hamstring tear against Leeds, I think it was.
- 55:08And he obviously said it himself.
- 55:10Like, you know, by the time he was like 22, he was a completely
- 55:14different player, even though he was still scoring Premier League
- 55:16goals. He was just very different to
- 55:18when he was like, you know, 1718.
- 55:20But yeah, I'll go Wayne Rooney. But like, yeah, even though Owen
- 55:25does come up with his weird comments and there's lots of
- 55:29memes and clips of, you know, some of his mannerisms, Yeah,
- 55:35I'll give it. To because I would have been 7
- 55:38in 99. When did Owen breakthrough?
- 55:41What year was it? 9719. 98, yeah.
- 55:44So I'm too young. The one girl or one period I
- 55:47remember of Owen, I think it must have been about 2001, you
- 55:51know, when John Anarisa scored that goal against United.
- 55:53Yeah. He won the balland all that
- 55:55time, yeah. In in that game, Owen scored
- 55:58that goal, right? Yeah.
- 55:59He opened up his body. Yeah, against Bartes, Yeah.
- 56:02Oh yeah, Bartes funnily enough, but I remember it.
- 56:04That's so I can't really comment too much as you would have seen
- 56:07them both in their pump at that at that age.
- 56:10So what do you reckon? Overall footballer?
- 56:14Definitely Wayne Rooney. Owen's the better goal scorer
- 56:19though. Owen's the better striker and
- 56:24when he was, this is the thing you're talking about, ages like
- 56:29the absolute best best. Michael Ohm was unstoppable as a
- 56:35striker because he had the speed, but when he lost his
- 56:37speed, he didn't have the same all round game that Rooney had
- 56:42to kind of adapt, Yeah, around the 979899 he was unbelievable
- 56:48electric. And yeah, that, that night, the
- 56:50World Cup, it's still feel, yeah, a bit.
- 56:56Bitter about it? A bitter Yeah.
- 56:58Just just, yeah, I carry that still like David Beckham's red
- 57:02car. Simeone fucking ref.
- 57:05Yeah. I really felt like, I mean,
- 57:08Glenn Hoddle's a weirdo and I understand that he needed to
- 57:11lose his job and stuff like that because of certain, you know,
- 57:14issues. But I really think that that was
- 57:17one of the best England teams. Shearer and Owen up front was
- 57:22was electric. You know, Beck's scolds, I think
- 57:26he would have pulled scolds it over a longer England career
- 57:28under Hoddle and he would have known what to do with the whole
- 57:31Gerard Lampard thing as well. You know, would have played
- 57:37three at the back, which, you know, can work as a system, you
- 57:40know, does can bring the best out of certain players.
- 57:44Yeah. Overall, Wayne Rooney, overall
- 57:46footballer, goal scorer by Cologne, taken both ideally,
- 57:50right. They played together in I think
- 57:52it was your 2004 and Rooney was absolutely electric as well,
- 57:58absolutely unplayable. 18 odds, right?
- 58:01I think that would have been. Played together at United for
- 58:04one season or two. Won the league.
- 58:07Won the league, gave us a great moment.
- 58:11Was it Istanbul as like we were watching the Derby that game,
- 58:15the Michael Owen winner? Yeah, yeah.
- 58:20And I would say it's a a finisher, Owen's a better
- 58:22finisher. So in the box, Owen's a better
- 58:25player. Running in behind, Owen's a
- 58:27better player but dropping deep to link the play.
- 58:30Rooney has more to his game and more positional flexibility,
- 58:33could play in multiple positions.
- 58:36So it's a hard one right at that age.
- 58:38And obviously Rooney had the better career like he still
- 58:42could have had, Owen admits. That Owen admits that longed,
- 58:46you know, over the career. Yeah.
- 58:47And and that's the thing, we took the hamstring injury, they
- 58:50didn't treat it properly. They, you know, medical advances
- 58:54are different now, whereby I think like Saka had the same
- 58:58tendon tear last summer, right? He's had surgery on his
- 59:01hamstring. Yeah, I think Kanu also had the
- 59:03same, but so just to I can't remember exactly, would that
- 59:08have been Roy Evans days then in terms of when he did it?
- 59:12And then, you know, medical advice at the time was what they
- 59:16did, right. And I guess Julio came
- 59:18afterwards. I guess it could have been
- 59:20treated differently and Julio had been around.
- 59:24Yeah, I I don't know also, you know, doctors and it might have
- 59:28been a a surgeon thing, a doctor thing and you know, treatments
- 59:31have advanced and, you know, players have better longevity.
- 59:36He was also both of these guys were flogged hard at a young
- 59:40age. So This is why I always tell you
- 59:42guys like, you know, I get it, the issue with Kobe maneu, but
- 59:46just also chill, like chill, let the guy he needs minutes.
- 59:50But like he was overplayed as well the first season, you know,
- 59:5310 Argo overplayed him. Both those guys were overplayed
- 59:57at young age and it caught up with them a little bit.
- 59:59And Owen was played way too much through injury.
- 1:00:03Rashford's the same thing, like playing through injury and his
- 1:00:06body's kind of, you know, broken down a bit.
- 1:00:09Fergie talked about it I think in his second book.
- 1:00:13If he had Michael Owen, he would have managed him differently
- 1:00:17physically, like he would have, you know, kept kept him out of
- 1:00:21the team at times. And, you know, obviously this
- 1:00:24this is the thing. It's like it's a hindsight
- 1:00:26thing. But yeah, Ferguson does talk
- 1:00:28about it in his book. So I think that's probably the
- 1:00:30highest praise that you could give Michael Owen, that Ferguson
- 1:00:34definitely wanted him at different times and to talk
- 1:00:37about him in his book as well. To say I would have managed him
- 1:00:40differently just shows like the the level that Michael Owen was.
- 1:00:44Very reliant on him basically. Yeah, massively.
- 1:00:46Yeah. That was the problem and and
- 1:00:48it's really interesting, I saw a quote about because they were
- 1:00:51talking about England call ups and Bruni saying that Fergie
- 1:00:54would tell him I'll play 45 minutes and then he would ignore
- 1:00:57me. He'd go and it's just like, This
- 1:00:59is why, Wayne, you didn't have the longevity in your career
- 1:01:02because you're not smart. You're supposed to play he.
- 1:01:05Loves his country, mate. It's not.
- 1:01:06It's not a crime, is it? Just loves playing football.
- 1:01:09That's what made him as well. This is what I say I was that's
- 1:01:12that's what made was it like that fight.
- 1:01:15You know you can't just remove it when you like.
- 1:01:18So anyway, look, we'll. You can have good management.
- 1:01:22That's what Fergie, Fergie, Fergie, Fergie top manager knew
- 1:01:26how to rotate his players and make sure that and then when he
- 1:01:29saw Rooney was on the decline, he was going to sell them right.
- 1:01:34You know, he's just top, top manager.
- 1:01:35You've got to give it to Fergie. OK, so we we touched on Michael
- 1:01:39Owen winning the Derby there in that 4 three-game all those
- 1:01:42years ago. So we've got the Derby on the
- 1:01:45weekend at the Etihad on Sunday. First question, yes or no?
- 1:01:50Answer or not yes or no? Le Mans or buying deer ash.
- 1:01:57I'd go Le Mans as. Buying deer for me.
- 1:02:02He's the conservative. Definitely I want, I want to.
- 1:02:06I just, it's just not for our result, but for him, for him to
- 1:02:10be able to not have the pressure right.
- 1:02:12I want him to settle in. I think I would just not put
- 1:02:15Lamons into that position. If he makes a mistake, it it
- 1:02:18could ruin his career. That's, you know, that's how big
- 1:02:20these big moments can be. So like, yeah, I would just play
- 1:02:23Binder and just. Binders.
- 1:02:26He's played international games, right?
- 1:02:27For Turkey. He's yeah, but he's shite in the
- 1:02:30air. Like yeah, I just can't get past
- 1:02:32the other thing. Couple of games I don't think
- 1:02:35city are as brutal on corners so it's.
- 1:02:38They're not, but also like you look through even recent
- 1:02:42history, City have scored many a set piece against us.
- 1:02:45So I I just don't want to goalkeeper flapping around.
- 1:02:47Look, it's not ideal, but like gun to the head I'd I'd pick
- 1:02:51Lamont. Fair play, you'll go go straight
- 1:02:54with it. What do you do?
- 1:02:55You think Ruben will actually do that though, Ash?
- 1:02:56No, I think he'll go by and do, like I said earlier, because
- 1:03:00despite the the poor crossing or inability to like try and get
- 1:03:06the ball, I think he's actually happy with him.
- 1:03:09Like he's his distribution has been like some, some would say
- 1:03:14decent. I mean, we well, we were we were
- 1:03:17there for the well, we were there for the Arsenal game.
- 1:03:21There were certain passes he got lucky with, but fair play.
- 1:03:25Like, you know, on the ball he's been decent.
- 1:03:29For example, against Fulham. I haven't seen, Oh, Nana hit a
- 1:03:31pass like that. Yeah, that's what I mean.
- 1:03:34Like there's enough for him to just be like, I'm going to keep
- 1:03:36him in the team and, you know, do probably the more sensible
- 1:03:39thing, which is transition in Le Mans in.
- 1:03:43That's that's the point. Let's see if that actually
- 1:03:46happens. I hope so.
- 1:03:47OK, us make a case for us to win this game.
- 1:03:50I don't need to make a case we are going to win this game.
- 1:03:52City of shite, What are? You talking about aren't we
- 1:03:56ahead of season's game? Yeah, we're ahead of.
- 1:03:59Them we're ahead of them in the league, Peps of fraud all these
- 1:04:05I don't know what rumours have been going around.
- 1:04:07You know, I won't spread them on the pod, but you know, he's a
- 1:04:11goalkeeper in Yeah. So you know Donna rumours going
- 1:04:15to flap at one and and you know, it's something that's going.
- 1:04:18To go through, it's going to be. Donna rumour can't catch either.
- 1:04:21So like you wait and see. I mean, if you think about the
- 1:04:24in swinging corners, it's going to be like we've got.
- 1:04:26I told you. I told you.
- 1:04:27I told you. Kunia's going to stick one,
- 1:04:30right? It's Kunia Elastico for the
- 1:04:32first goal. Is he the rumours flapping at?
- 1:04:35Oh yeah, we don't know about his hamstring, right?
- 1:04:38So. Yeah, it's Harry.
- 1:04:39No, it's going to be Harry Maguire last minute.
- 1:04:41Come on, we're going to beat the ball.
- 1:04:42Plan B. We got Ahmad.
- 1:04:46Sounds like mount isn't as bad as their first feared, so let's.
- 1:04:49See, I think it was precaution. Yeah.
- 1:04:51So that would be that would be good news as well.
- 1:04:55So of course we're going to win and City have, you know, shown
- 1:04:59weakness. It show, you know, like they're
- 1:05:01midfield. It shows you can play 433-F3 in
- 1:05:04midfield and still get played through.
- 1:05:06Well, Reuben's got a good, his record is actually decent
- 1:05:10against the bigger teams, especially away, right?
- 1:05:13Like we saw the result that he had last season at Anfield, we
- 1:05:17played quite well, so maybe there's something in that as
- 1:05:20well. If we if we play as well as we
- 1:05:22did at Anfield, we'll win the game.
- 1:05:25Whereas with the Derby last year at the Etihad, like we, we just
- 1:05:30stayed in the game and like we gave ourselves a chance.
- 1:05:33Yeah, we gave ourselves a chance.
- 1:05:35Like we, we set up well and then bit of magic from Ahmad.
- 1:05:39But if we play like we did at Anfield where we actually played
- 1:05:43some football, then we can win this game because, yeah, City
- 1:05:49have a good. Game against Holland, that's
- 1:05:51really important, right? Holland is just massive for
- 1:05:55them. But I think we can score.
- 1:05:58I think we can score. The one thing I'm interested in
- 1:06:01is who does he play in the wing back positions?
- 1:06:03Does he go with the more attacking option?
- 1:06:05With that? I think he's going to go Dalo
- 1:06:07and definitely go, he'll go Dalo one side or or Dalo Mazrawi if
- 1:06:12Mazrawi is now fit because he came on, didn't he?
- 1:06:14So he must be back to. Fit.
- 1:06:15You think he'll play both? Potentially going to be more
- 1:06:18defensive. No doku then.
- 1:06:21Two of these three, what we would call more the full back
- 1:06:24option as opposed to Ahmad, who's more the winger option.
- 1:06:27I think he's going to go conservative to start with and
- 1:06:29maybe open up as the game goes on.
- 1:06:33Yeah, haven't, don't think Dallas been good.
- 1:06:38Don't think he deserves his spot, but he'll play probably
- 1:06:40because he trusts he's the Lieutenant, right?
- 1:06:42So that trust and all of this nonsense.
- 1:06:45I've got one. I've got one Kobe man who's
- 1:06:47going to score, come on and score the winner.
- 1:06:50Please, that would be so good. Open his body up, bend it like
- 1:06:55he did against Liverpool, Wolves, those types of guys, all
- 1:06:58Will Leon. On the same evening, Scott's
- 1:07:01going to finally pull Sydney Sweeney as well.
- 1:07:03Miracles happen. Right, you've got to believe.
- 1:07:06Scott McDonald's got a chance of it if I don't do it.
- 1:07:10No, our Scott. You mean Sean?
- 1:07:15You are Sean Daish, but Scott. Scott Mctominy, maybe, Yeah.
- 1:07:20OK, so predictions then. What do you actually think is
- 1:07:23going to happen? 21 United default default
- 1:07:29default prediction 21 United I don't I, I, I feel confident.
- 1:07:33I always feel, you know, like big games.
- 1:07:36I think we we turn up the emotions there.
- 1:07:38I don't feel city. You're in great shape.
- 1:07:40Like I said, you need a little bit of bit of luck in these
- 1:07:45moments, bit of Harland against delict situation where he, you
- 1:07:50know, and the rest of it will take care of itself.
- 1:07:53We'll create some chances. Chefs go to start you guys.
- 1:07:58That's a really interesting call.
- 1:08:00I also don't think he will. I think if Mason, this is the
- 1:08:03whole thing, if Mason, if all of the players are fit, Mount
- 1:08:06Cooney, etcetera, I think he'll go with the same.
- 1:08:09I agree. Fulham or Arsenal?
- 1:08:10Yeah, line ups with just actually Ahmed.
- 1:08:14He did that against Bernie as well.
- 1:08:16Shesko didn't start right. Don't think he started a league
- 1:08:19game. Yeah so I agree if Mason mounts
- 1:08:21fit he will start and Shesko will be on the bench.
- 1:08:25Yeah, and Mountain has been really good, so you know.
- 1:08:30Fair, Steve, would you start him or would you?
- 1:08:33Do you think Reubens is going to continue to play Mount if he's
- 1:08:35fit? I would start him, I would have
- 1:08:37started him in that first game first.
- 1:08:39Arsenal, I know there's fitness and stuff but we've had what, 3
- 1:08:42league games now? He should have started by now in
- 1:08:44my opinion. So.
- 1:08:46Would I think he's? I think now he should be fit to
- 1:08:49start. Well, yeah, so.
- 1:08:51Maybe I just think that Mason Mountain has been really good
- 1:08:55and this is the thing. Trust him.
- 1:08:57It's not just that people go on and on about, oh, you know what?
- 1:09:00Reuben never changes. It's always a 343.
- 1:09:03And but the, the, the, the personnel he puts in these
- 1:09:06various positions are the changes he makes, who he chooses
- 1:09:09at wingback changes the dynamic. Who he chooses at #10 If Mason
- 1:09:13Mount plays, Mason Mount is a mid, more of a midfielder than a
- 1:09:17striker, right? Cesco's more of a striker.
- 1:09:19So if you want 3 in midfield and to make sure that you're not
- 1:09:22outnumbered, you play, play Mason Mount.
- 1:09:24I think he goes with that. He'll he'll Who would you go
- 1:09:27with if you were the manager? I would do the same.
- 1:09:30And then what you then look to is your bench because what you
- 1:09:33want to do is in an away game, you want to be in the game and
- 1:09:36you want to make sure you don't lose control of the game and
- 1:09:38mount pressing off the ball work.
- 1:09:41And then you're at 60 minutes, it's 11.
- 1:09:44And then you go for the winner, you unleash Ahmad and you
- 1:09:47unleash that's Kobe in the bench and Kobe as well, potentially
- 1:09:51fresh legs because Casimiro, right, can't play 90, right?
- 1:09:55If even if Mazzarawi or Dog or Dalo, you'd think you can sub
- 1:09:59one of them off, right? Mount's not going to play 90.
- 1:10:02So that's when Cesco comes on. So you've got your copy, you've
- 1:10:05got your Cesco, you've got your Ahmad to come on and they're the
- 1:10:08finishes and they've, and then you're in the game.
- 1:10:11And then that's how we win it. That's the blueprint, Yeah, I
- 1:10:14agree. My official prediction is going
- 1:10:15to be two, two, but I could see, you know, A21 or A32 United.
- 1:10:20Yeah, I think any as possible. I can see a four nil.
- 1:10:24I can. See a four nil?
- 1:10:25Oh, we said it's not, not to us. No, he went united.
- 1:10:30I can see four nil to city as well.
- 1:10:31I'm just putting. Out I I've I've looked one thing
- 1:10:34that has been consistent in all the the Grimsby doesn't count
- 1:10:38because it's a second team disgrace.
- 1:10:40But was the three games fast start.
- 1:10:43I can see us two goals in 20 minutes.
- 1:10:45Just need a bit of luck. Not hit the post, not this.
- 1:10:48Two nil. City then come on to us.
- 1:10:50And then two more goals in the second-half on the count.
- 1:10:53Cesco 89th minute off the mark. Fourth goal, 4 nil.
- 1:10:58Brilliant, brilliant and I can also see four nil city emergency
- 1:11:01pod Sunday night so. Basically, we, we, we've covered
- 1:11:04everything. Yeah.
- 1:11:04So be ready. It's.
- 1:11:06Not happening. It's not happening I.
- 1:11:08Tell you what though, I'm just looking forward to Super Sunday.
- 1:11:11Hopefully Burnley get a nice win against Liverpool, sets up the
- 1:11:14Derby and then yeah, it's the Premier League's back.
- 1:11:18That's what I'm looking forward to the most.
- 1:11:19I've missed it. It's only been two weeks so.
- 1:11:22Yeah, United are back. Yeah, literally.
- 1:11:26And there's no and the transfer window's shut as well, so well,
- 1:11:29mostly so less noise. It's all football now, one game
- 1:11:33a week, multiple pods, lots to talk about.
- 1:11:37Get ready. Yep.
- 1:11:39So on that bombshell, thanks for tuning in, and we'll catch you
- 1:11:43on the next episode.
