- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with I Heart Radio. Another one of them crazy days
- 0:19Speaker 1: in the news room. Welcome to NFL Now on NFL
- 0:21Speaker 1: Network on a game day. We're live in Nashville. Coming
- 0:23Speaker 1: up shortly, that's Brian Baldinger. I'm Andrews Ciciliano Baldi. You
- 0:26Speaker 1: know that this is this is a rocket scientist. He's
- 0:30Speaker 1: also the quarterback for the Tennessee Titans. And Josh Dobbs,
- 0:33Speaker 1: one of my favorite guys, a rocket scientist, is going
- 0:36Speaker 1: to start at quarterback tonight for the Tennessee Titans. A
- 0:39Speaker 1: man who is doing live stream analysis for NASA when
- 0:42Speaker 1: we tried to knock at asteroid off course a couple
- 0:45Speaker 1: of months ago, is going to start at quarterback for
- 0:47Speaker 1: the Titans. More in that coming up shortly. The question
- 0:50Speaker 1: is who is going to start at quarterback for the
- 0:51Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles, And we lead with that of this hour.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Ian Rappaport is our NFL that work insider ian. Somebody's
- 1:00Speaker 1: back on the practice field, Jalen hurt audited by local
- 1:05Speaker 1: reporters back on the field and practically in the stadium
- 1:08Speaker 1: today and Jalen Hurts was there this is the first
- 1:10Speaker 1: time that he's practiced in suffering the ace. The sc
- 1:14Speaker 1: joint sprain in his right shoulder not considered to be
- 1:17Speaker 1: a significant injury, one that caused him to miss last week.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Obviously was not president the walkthrough yesterday, but is on
- 1:24Speaker 1: the field today and I've seen the videos. He looked
- 1:27Speaker 1: pretty good. Now, that's not the issue. Throwing, he's not
- 1:29Speaker 1: the issue. Being able to land on and withstand impact
- 1:32Speaker 1: is probably more the issue. This is an m VP candidate.
- 1:35Speaker 1: He's one of the best players, not just on the
- 1:37Speaker 1: Eagles but really anywhere. They are not going to put
- 1:39Speaker 1: him in harm's risk. But everything we heard Andrew about
- 1:43Speaker 1: Jalen hurts as he is insanely competitive, he is going
- 1:46Speaker 1: to push to play. It is a big game, legitimately
- 1:49Speaker 1: big game for the Eagles, and being out there today
- 1:52Speaker 1: means at least he's got a shot, all right, He
- 1:54Speaker 1: has got a shot. And if the Cowboys loose tonight,
- 1:57Speaker 1: unlikely the Eagles would the NFC East champions tonight while
- 2:01Speaker 1: sitting on their accounts, thank you and rapport NFL Network
- 2:04Speaker 1: in Tier. I say unlikely because Tennessee is going to
- 2:07Speaker 1: rest a lot of guys tonight as we said, noble
- 2:10Speaker 1: Leak Willis, Josh Dobbs is going to start tonight for
- 2:14Speaker 1: the Tennessee Titan deal. I got there eight days ago.
- 2:16Speaker 1: The Cowboys have issues as well, as we go live
- 2:19Speaker 1: to Nashville, Rainey Nashville, Jane Slater, great accessories there with
- 2:25Speaker 1: that wonderful umbrella. Tony Pollard is an issue here. The
- 2:29Speaker 1: question is what do the Cowboys do? Do they run
- 2:31Speaker 1: the ball without Tony Pollard? Tennessee is having trouble stop
- 2:33Speaker 1: in the past. What do we know? Well, quick shout
- 2:37Speaker 1: out to the Titans PR staff for providing me with
- 2:40Speaker 1: this very large umbrella to keep me contained here. You
- 2:45Speaker 1: know a lot of changes here in Tennessee. Because we
- 2:47Speaker 1: were expecting Malik Willis obviously to play in this one.
- 2:50Speaker 1: We now know it's Josh Dobbs, and we weren't expecting
- 2:52Speaker 1: rain Andrew. But here's what we are expecting. I think
- 2:55Speaker 1: we can safely bet that the Cowboys are gonna try
- 2:57Speaker 1: to air this one out tonight, particularly when you consider
- 3:00Speaker 1: that Dak Prescott, since he's been backed, has helped this
- 3:02Speaker 1: team have a league leading thirty six points per game him.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Now when you look at the Titans defense, well, they're
- 3:07Speaker 1: giving up about two eighty yards a game. Also consider
- 3:10Speaker 1: the fact they're not going to have their three best
- 3:13Speaker 1: pass rushers and in the secondary, Noah money Hooker, no
- 3:16Speaker 1: Christian Fulton, and you're meeting a Ceedee Lamb that coming
- 3:19Speaker 1: off that Eagles game had a big one two scores.
- 3:22Speaker 1: He had ten catches averaging about twelve yards uh a past,
- 3:26Speaker 1: so this can be a game for him to air
- 3:27Speaker 1: it out. And then also consider t Y Hilton. This
- 3:29Speaker 1: is a guy that hasn't been in that building very long.
- 3:31Speaker 1: They're sort of acclimating him slowly. But his welcome to
- 3:35Speaker 1: the NFL after coming off his couch this season was
- 3:38Speaker 1: that third and thirty bomb from Dak Prescott. And when
- 3:41Speaker 1: talking to Dak Prescott this week, we said, now we're
- 3:44Speaker 1: going to see more from him. He said, when you've
- 3:45Speaker 1: got a veteran guy like that who earned your trust,
- 3:48Speaker 1: gives you a lot of confidence to go to him.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So I anticipate that's exactly what they do today. Given
- 3:52Speaker 1: the injuries that Tennessee Titans having, some of the guys
- 3:54Speaker 1: that aren't playing, I think this is a great example,
- 3:57Speaker 1: great time tonight for the Dallas defense to get really
- 3:59Speaker 1: whole on Jane. I mean the last three weeks right now,
- 4:02Speaker 1: the pass rush is basically dissipated. Michael Parsons has the
- 4:06Speaker 1: only sack in the last three weeks. They haven't hit
- 4:07Speaker 1: the quarterback guys like Tank Lawrence and Dante Fowler and
- 4:11Speaker 1: Dorence Armstrong, we just haven't seen them. So you're gonna
- 4:14Speaker 1: go up against quarterback that just got signed December one,
- 4:17Speaker 1: like less than ten days ago, against an offensive line
- 4:20Speaker 1: that isn't very good, and eventually you're gonna have to
- 4:23Speaker 1: throw it. I mean, I just think there's a chance
- 4:24Speaker 1: for Dallas's defensive front to get busy, and I think
- 4:27Speaker 1: that will help a lot of the young defensive backs
- 4:29Speaker 1: to more pressure, less time to throw it, less time
- 4:33Speaker 1: to really find your targets down the field. I think
- 4:36Speaker 1: it all starts with Dallas pass rush. I think we
- 4:38Speaker 1: might see that tonight. Sometimes you just gotta go up
- 4:40Speaker 1: against a lesser opponent, UH to get your numbers, and
- 4:43Speaker 1: they need to get their numbers back up there where
- 4:45Speaker 1: they were maybe a month ago. Cowboys numbers are eleven
- 4:48Speaker 1: and four. If they win tonight and win next week
- 4:50Speaker 1: and still not win the division because the Eagles hold
- 4:52Speaker 1: those cards, right now Dallas will be the first win
- 4:56Speaker 1: team to fail to win its division since ninety nine,
- 5:00Speaker 1: when the Titans were behind a fourteen when Jaguar team.
- 5:02Speaker 1: That's the only time it's ever happened since we've broken
- 5:05Speaker 1: divisions in the thirties. Jane Slater dodging rain drops with
- 5:09Speaker 1: a fantastic umbrella. Thank you, Jane, live there in Nashville.
- 5:12Speaker 1: More coming up on that one, Tina a little bit later.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Let's get back to the huge story from yesterday. Derek
- 5:18Speaker 1: Carr is not only not playing these next two games,
- 5:22Speaker 1: Josh McDaniel sat him down. Derek Car's not even with
- 5:26Speaker 1: the Raiders to avoid any awkwardness, he is home for
- 5:29Speaker 1: the holidays, as Jared Stidham will now be leading this
- 5:33Speaker 1: team against the forty niners and throwing passes to the
- 5:35Speaker 1: likes of Theavante Adams. Obviously, I don't think anybody was
- 5:40Speaker 1: excited about it in here. Um, you know, him being
- 5:44Speaker 1: one of one of my really good friends, and you
- 5:46Speaker 1: know the reason why I came here in the first place.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I mean, I wouldn't I wouldn't be here right now
- 5:49Speaker 1: if he wasn't, you know, if he wasn't here. So, um,
- 5:52Speaker 1: I think everybody knows how I feel about him, and
- 5:54Speaker 1: and you know, with that said, there's, uh, there's a
- 5:58Speaker 1: process of how things go. And I'm not gonna sit
- 6:01Speaker 1: here and go on to know him. But obviously I
- 6:03Speaker 1: support my guy, and uh, you know, you know, we
- 6:07Speaker 1: gotta finish the season out, you know, the best way
- 6:09Speaker 1: we can possible with you know, all things considered. At
- 6:11Speaker 1: this point, stid him in against the number one defense
- 6:16Speaker 1: to the NFL. Steve Whites with me, Mark Ross with
- 6:18Speaker 1: me as well. Now, by the way, Telenoga, who funka
- 6:21Speaker 1: from that number one defense, joins us a little bit later. Mark,
- 6:23Speaker 1: let's start with you and and the obvious headline here
- 6:26Speaker 1: this means goodbye. We have we we have to think.
- 6:28Speaker 1: It means goodbye for Derek Carr. Obviously, they could work
- 6:31Speaker 1: out the contract, work out some kind of scenario to
- 6:34Speaker 1: keep him back next year if they truly want him.
- 6:36Speaker 1: But I mean, you're you're shaking your head this. I
- 6:39Speaker 1: agree with you. This is goodbye without a doubt. I mean,
- 6:44Speaker 1: we kind of been They've been trying to usher him
- 6:45Speaker 1: out of there for the past few years, with Derek
- 6:47Speaker 1: Carr getting getting him in, trying to upgrade just talking
- 6:50Speaker 1: about it at least, well, when you make a decision
- 6:52Speaker 1: like this, yes, you you have to move on. And
- 6:55Speaker 1: Derek Carr maybe at this point and say, you know what,
- 6:57Speaker 1: I've got to move on because I've done everything for
- 6:59Speaker 1: this organization, put the organization in front of my needs,
- 7:03Speaker 1: and now it's signed for me to put what's best
- 7:05Speaker 1: for Derek Carr in front of the Raiders. And the
- 7:08Speaker 1: bigger picture with this is we talk about culture, and really,
- 7:12Speaker 1: to me, culture is about a winning mentality, winning habits,
- 7:15Speaker 1: and with the Raiders organization, they this is a sign
- 7:18Speaker 1: of not having a winning culture. They still are mathematically
- 7:22Speaker 1: possible to make the playoffs. Yes it's a long shot,
- 7:25Speaker 1: but there's there's still that chance. And I've been never
- 7:27Speaker 1: been a part of the team that's just completely just
- 7:29Speaker 1: giving up on a season. But this starts at the
- 7:31Speaker 1: top with ownership, with the front office, with the head
- 7:33Speaker 1: coach that makes this decision to say we're giving up
- 7:37Speaker 1: this season. What message does that send to the rest
- 7:39Speaker 1: of the team. You saw Davante Adams interview there, completely
- 7:44Speaker 1: admirable of him the way he came out, but you
- 7:46Speaker 1: know inside he's probably thinking something else as well as
- 7:49Speaker 1: the rest of the team. So now you're going in
- 7:50Speaker 1: with the next two games and Derek, we don't want
- 7:53Speaker 1: to pay you, so don't play so you don't get hurt.
- 7:56Speaker 1: What message does that send to the team? What message
- 7:58Speaker 1: is that for the long run with recruiting free agents,
- 8:01Speaker 1: recruiting a top tier quarterback, is it just a total
- 8:05Speaker 1: build over once again and trusting Josh McDaniels to move
- 8:08Speaker 1: forward with this team and the decisions he makes, because
- 8:11Speaker 1: what has he showed up to this point to say
- 8:13Speaker 1: he's the guy to do it. So a lot of
- 8:15Speaker 1: layers for there, but it's the fact that hey, we've
- 8:18Speaker 1: given up and this whole mentality of that. I just
- 8:21Speaker 1: don't buy that. And other other players who are currently
- 8:24Speaker 1: on the team possibly on the team, Steve, I think
- 8:26Speaker 1: they'll look at that as well. Ye Mark, I talk about,
- 8:28Speaker 1: you know, the culture there. Let's not forget the Raiders
- 8:31Speaker 1: were a playoff team last year. They added Chandler Jones,
- 8:35Speaker 1: they added Davante Adams, and things still came off the
- 8:38Speaker 1: rails to this point. So this again, this may be
- 8:42Speaker 1: an overall cleansing of a roster that does need an
- 8:45Speaker 1: offensive line, like an offensive line that just one position
- 8:49Speaker 1: and several holes to fill on defense, so we'll see
- 8:51Speaker 1: what changes that. Mark Davis hasn't trusted Dave Ziggler and
- 8:53Speaker 1: Josh McDaniels to make. But I want to get to
- 8:56Speaker 1: Derek Carr because I do think there's gonna be a
- 8:58Speaker 1: market for him, whether it's it's trade. Remember he's got
- 9:01Speaker 1: a no trade clause unless he gives the Raiders a
- 9:05Speaker 1: couple of teams he wants to go to. UM. I
- 9:07Speaker 1: can't see him waiving that because the free agency he
- 9:10Speaker 1: can pick a spot negotiate his own deal UM that way.
- 9:14Speaker 1: But you know he's he's given a lot to the team.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I know that he's he's a polarizing figure. He has
- 9:19Speaker 1: not played well this year. It is a situation where
- 9:22Speaker 1: he probably needs to get out. As Mark said, the
- 9:25Speaker 1: Raiders need to get out from him. Otherwise the Raiders
- 9:27Speaker 1: could be like the Falcons, you know, can continue to
- 9:29Speaker 1: pay Matt Ryan hoping they can win. As he aid,
- 9:32Speaker 1: his in deterior rates. So um baldy, I think this
- 9:35Speaker 1: party is kind of awkward. As it is awkward. It's
- 9:41Speaker 1: awkward is if I never see anything Steve. They are look,
- 9:45Speaker 1: the chance to make the playoffs are slim. But they're playoffyoffs.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I've never seen this before. They're not eliminated, no, like,
- 9:51Speaker 1: but you're telling the entire team. You're telling Colton Miller,
- 9:54Speaker 1: Max Crosby pick Josh Jacobs like we're throwing to the tower.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Started guy Jared Sinim that's never started a game against
- 10:00Speaker 1: the number one defensive football in the San Francisco forty
- 10:03Speaker 1: Niners and the hottest team in the league. To me,
- 10:07Speaker 1: there is a time to do this, Steve. There is
- 10:09Speaker 1: a time if you're eliminated and you want to take
- 10:10Speaker 1: a look at a younger player, I understand that. But
- 10:12Speaker 1: to just Jettison, you're a guy that was to face
- 10:15Speaker 1: your organization during a difficult season a year ago where
- 10:18Speaker 1: he had to stand in front of the media after
- 10:21Speaker 1: one incident in situation after another, and not blank, he
- 10:24Speaker 1: helped that team. He held him together. They together. They
- 10:29Speaker 1: made the playoffs last year with everything with John Bruden
- 10:32Speaker 1: beings created taking over. Derek Carr was the class act
- 10:37Speaker 1: that played well and kept this team together. But if
- 10:39Speaker 1: you but so, that's all true and we all agree
- 10:42Speaker 1: on that. And the thing is is that now this
- 10:44Speaker 1: is how you're treating this guy, and I just the
- 10:47Speaker 1: rest of the team, whether it's Josh Jacobs, has already
- 10:49Speaker 1: been Yeah, he's like, I'm out, I'm not coming back.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Who wants to really be there going forward? If this
- 10:54Speaker 1: is how they're gonna treat players that act with class
- 10:57Speaker 1: and then at the same time like there's still a
- 10:59Speaker 1: playoff hunt available, We've seen crazy things happen real quick.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Has he played well this year? What is the tapes?
- 11:05Speaker 1: He was awful last week. I mean the three second
- 11:07Speaker 1: half interceptions. The last one to Hunter Renfro was a
- 11:10Speaker 1: terrible throw, he admitted, but he did not play well.
- 11:14Speaker 1: But the offense didn't make a lot of sense to me. Also,
- 11:17Speaker 1: you have the leading rusher in the league. Where is
- 11:19Speaker 1: the play action passes? Where is making that run game payoff?
- 11:22Speaker 1: I didn't see that, And I didn't see the use
- 11:25Speaker 1: of Davante the way I thought I would see, moving around,
- 11:28Speaker 1: motion around, playing all three spots. He will have suitors,
- 11:31Speaker 1: whether it's just go down the list of teams that
- 11:33Speaker 1: may need a quarterback, will need a quarterback next to
- 11:35Speaker 1: whether it's Indianapolis or Carolina or Washington Jets or the Jets.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I mean, look, that list is going to get a
- 11:42Speaker 1: lot longer between now and the start of the new
- 11:44Speaker 1: league year March fift Thank you guys, Thank you Mark.
- 11:47Speaker 1: As we continue on NFL and NFL Now, let's get
- 11:50Speaker 1: some other news in here. The news obviously, the Teddy
- 11:52Speaker 1: Bridgewater is going to start for the Dolphins. They are
- 11:56Speaker 1: guaranteed a playoff spot if they win their last two games.
- 11:59Speaker 1: They could also clinch one this week if they beat
- 12:01Speaker 1: the Patriots and the Jets lose to the Seahawks. This
- 12:06Speaker 1: is a rematch from Week one where we saw to
- 12:08Speaker 1: and Jayleen Waddle and Tyreek Hill, Mike Giardi make enough
- 12:13Speaker 1: plays to beat Bill Belichick and that Patriots defense. What
- 12:15Speaker 1: do they have to do this time with Teddy? I
- 12:18Speaker 1: think what helped to establish a running game, which is
- 12:20Speaker 1: something they've really struggled to do here during the losing
- 12:22Speaker 1: streak effect. Over their last five four of those games,
- 12:24Speaker 1: they haven't gone over a hundred yards. The one game
- 12:27Speaker 1: they went over a hundred yards was that game against
- 12:29Speaker 1: the Bills in the snow and the cold. They rush
- 12:31Speaker 1: for hundred in that game, a hundred plus in the
- 12:34Speaker 1: first quarter from Raheem Mostard, and they kind of controlled
- 12:37Speaker 1: that game for a better part of the contest. Obviously,
- 12:39Speaker 1: lost it late, but still sort of established a better
- 12:42Speaker 1: rhythm offensively. It took some pressure off their quarterback. You'd
- 12:45Speaker 1: love to take pressure off Teddy Bridgewater, even though of
- 12:48Speaker 1: course he started a lot of games in his NFL career,
- 12:50Speaker 1: and they understand, like Mike McDaniels, McDaniel is a great
- 12:55Speaker 1: job of designing plays for them, but they need to
- 12:57Speaker 1: get some consistency in some physicality of front. I thought
- 13:00Speaker 1: that's the thing that they did really well in that
- 13:02Speaker 1: Buffalo game is established some physicality. It gave them a rhythm.
- 13:05Speaker 1: I thought for the entire game. You kind of need
- 13:07Speaker 1: to do that against the Patriot team that I know.
- 13:09Speaker 1: We talked about their secondaries all banged up and they've
- 13:12Speaker 1: been difficult to run on. But there have been moments
- 13:14Speaker 1: this year where teams when they really had to have
- 13:16Speaker 1: been able to gash them, and I think that's possible.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I think again, their linebackers aren't the fastest. You get
- 13:21Speaker 1: the moving side to side, and that's the way of
- 13:23Speaker 1: course McDaniel wants to design this offense and then one
- 13:26Speaker 1: cut and go. I think they have an opportunity to
- 13:28Speaker 1: do that. For he mostered, as I mentioned, had a
- 13:30Speaker 1: big game against Buffalo. He talked to a couple of
- 13:32Speaker 1: days ago and was just like, I didn't put my
- 13:34Speaker 1: best foot forward in that last game. I owe my
- 13:36Speaker 1: guys something. I think we all feel that way. So
- 13:38Speaker 1: I think there's a more pressure on them to deliver,
- 13:41Speaker 1: and I think there's an expectation that they'll deliver in
- 13:43Speaker 1: a game that they absolutely, positively have to have. Absolutely
- 13:46Speaker 1: And a crazy note here about the Dolphins. They've beaten
- 13:48Speaker 1: the Patriots four in a row, trying to make it
- 13:50Speaker 1: five in a row. They're the only team to beat
- 13:52Speaker 1: Bill Belichick four consecutive games since he took over as
- 13:57Speaker 1: head coach. Just wild. Thank you, Mike Giardi, live there
- 14:02Speaker 1: in Patriots Land in New England. All right, it up.
- 14:05Speaker 1: More news here on quarterbacks and rapp aboard, Tom Pellicero. Tom,
- 14:09Speaker 1: let's start with you on Lamar Jackson, who we still
- 14:14Speaker 1: do not see on the practice field. That's right, Andrew
- 14:20Speaker 1: Ravens practicing right now. Lamar Jackson, as expected, not on
- 14:23Speaker 1: the field again. This now makes eleven consecutive practices, including
- 14:27Speaker 1: three games in that span as well since Lamar was
- 14:30Speaker 1: on the field. Suffered a knee injury, a PCL sprain
- 14:33Speaker 1: that has kept him out since Ravens are in the playoffs,
- 14:36Speaker 1: but they're still trying to protect their seating, the number
- 14:39Speaker 1: five seat where the Ravens are now. It means it's
- 14:41Speaker 1: the difference between facing the a f C South winner,
- 14:44Speaker 1: a team that unlikely that potentially could have a losing record,
- 14:47Speaker 1: or having to face the Bills or the Chiefs or
- 14:49Speaker 1: the Bengals in round one. But obviously they don't feel
- 14:52Speaker 1: like Lamar is ready at this point, so tracking toward
- 14:55Speaker 1: Tyler Snoop Puntley being the starter again on Sunday night
- 14:58Speaker 1: against the Steelers. Yeah, it is an interesting conversation here.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Do you want to go on the road and play
- 15:02Speaker 1: the a f C South winner A we you'd rather
- 15:05Speaker 1: play a better team at home. I wanted to keep
- 15:09Speaker 1: an eye on here, but it looks like Snoop Huntley
- 15:11Speaker 1: for now with no Lamar Jackson. Mean time, I and
- 15:14Speaker 1: Laramie Tunsel yesterday in Houston. It does have one year
- 15:18Speaker 1: left on his contract. Uh said that once again he
- 15:21Speaker 1: would like a new contract and some pretty big money.
- 15:26Speaker 1: And generally when you do new contracts, you do extensions
- 15:28Speaker 1: with players. Do you want to keep around for another contract?
- 15:31Speaker 1: This is the time to do it, and for Laramie Tunsel,
- 15:33Speaker 1: he understands his worth, he understands the leverage he has,
- 15:37Speaker 1: and he used it the last time. They're in this situation,
- 15:40Speaker 1: getting a rock star of a contract making him the
- 15:42Speaker 1: highest paid tackle in the NFL. Told in the ESPN
- 15:45Speaker 1: Reporter this week that he wants to be there again,
- 15:47Speaker 1: naming Trent Williams with twenty three million dollars as his
- 15:51Speaker 1: target there. So for the Houston Texans, obviously this is
- 15:55Speaker 1: something if it wasn't on the radar, which I'm sure
- 15:57Speaker 1: it was, it certainly is now. It's also worth noting,
- 16:00Speaker 1: guys that the Texas may have the number one pick
- 16:02Speaker 1: may end up taken a quarterback, a few more important
- 16:05Speaker 1: and things and making sure that quarterback has a blind
- 16:07Speaker 1: tied protector. So the focus on Laramie Council is probably
- 16:11Speaker 1: a worthwhile one going forward. There's no question he in
- 16:15Speaker 1: and Laramie Tounsil remains one of the highest paid offensive
- 16:18Speaker 1: linemen in the game. On that three year, sixty six
- 16:20Speaker 1: million dollar extension he got after being acquired from the
- 16:23Speaker 1: Miami Dolphins, he talked about Trent Williams deal, which is
- 16:26Speaker 1: really two separate contracts. It's a three year, sixty million
- 16:29Speaker 1: dollar deal with a three year seventy seven million dollar
- 16:31Speaker 1: option on top of it. Tuncil's deal has stood the
- 16:34Speaker 1: test of time here for several years, but with the
- 16:36Speaker 1: salary cap going up. But he's absolutely right that left
- 16:39Speaker 1: tackle markets should only make him richer when he gets
- 16:42Speaker 1: back to back to free agency here on his next
- 16:43Speaker 1: contract schedule to make eighteen point five next year, and
- 16:46Speaker 1: asked for that number one pick Texan's one last week.
- 16:49Speaker 1: They're sitting there at two and a half, Winds Bears
- 16:51Speaker 1: right behind them at three wins. It's gonna get interesting
- 16:55Speaker 1: here down the stretch. Thank you Ian, Thank you Tom.
- 16:58Speaker 1: As we continue, it is interesting in Tampa. Back there
- 17:03Speaker 1: live what Tom Brady to say about potentially winning the
- 17:07Speaker 1: NFC South this week their seven and eight Sarah Walsh
- 17:11Speaker 1: Live one buck play straight ahead. So this is just bonkers.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Tom Brady has now lived half of his life as
- 17:32Speaker 1: an NFL player. Look at that eight thousand, two hundred
- 17:35Speaker 1: ninety two days before the NFL and in the NFL.
- 17:40Speaker 1: I mean, is that even the same person, Thoms someone
- 17:46Speaker 1: did that? Matthew, You spent literally half your life now
- 17:49Speaker 1: in the NFL. Same number of days on Earth in
- 17:51Speaker 1: the NFL as before the NFL. That's crazy. That's crazy.
- 17:57Speaker 1: That's crazy. You know, the stats and data is everywhere.
- 18:00Speaker 1: It's a data driven world. But that's crazy. It's hard
- 18:03Speaker 1: for me to imagine. So I've loved it. I've certainly
- 18:06Speaker 1: you love my opportunity to play. And it's been a
- 18:08Speaker 1: lot of you know, his memories in relationships, and I've
- 18:13Speaker 1: certainly had my fair shareholders. I mean, the guy looks
- 18:16Speaker 1: like he has an aged Sarah Walsh now live at
- 18:19Speaker 1: one Buck Place. After Tom Brady was on the podium.
- 18:21Speaker 1: They're trying to wrap up the division seemingly though the
- 18:23Speaker 1: the offensive line I think has aged him a bit
- 18:26Speaker 1: this year. But Sarah, there might be some good news coming.
- 18:31Speaker 1: There might be some good news. You know, he looks
- 18:32Speaker 1: like he's aging in reverse, and they'd like to believe
- 18:35Speaker 1: that the luck of the Yeah, they would like to
- 18:37Speaker 1: believe that the luck of this offensive line is getting better.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Maybe that's going in reverse from the trend that we've seen.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Because for the first time since the second day of
- 18:47Speaker 1: practice here at Buccaneers training camp, Ryan Jensen, tom Brady's
- 18:50Speaker 1: Pro Bowl center, was back out on the football field.
- 18:52Speaker 1: He had a knee issue that was thought to keep
- 18:55Speaker 1: him out of this entire season. We still don't know
- 18:57Speaker 1: if we'll see him back this season, but just being
- 18:59Speaker 1: out on the football field, Todd Bowls, their head coach,
- 19:02Speaker 1: called it a big lift for this team. Tom Brady
- 19:04Speaker 1: told us today that he's so happy to see Jensen
- 19:06Speaker 1: back out there. He said he's a much happier person
- 19:09Speaker 1: than when he's sitting alone in that locker room. So
- 19:11Speaker 1: the good news is Jensen could be trending back, maybe
- 19:15Speaker 1: if the Buccaneers are making a postseason run, and that
- 19:17Speaker 1: is still a big question mark. Foles did rule Jensen
- 19:19Speaker 1: out for this week. Donovan Smith another offensive line interest,
- 19:23Speaker 1: and worse, they were both out on the practice field
- 19:25Speaker 1: this week, which is a good sign. One thing that's
- 19:27Speaker 1: concerning for the Buccaneers their top corner Carlton Davis, he
- 19:30Speaker 1: hasn't been seeing this week. He's listed on the injury
- 19:32Speaker 1: report with a shoulder injury, and we don't have much
- 19:34Speaker 1: more information to go on than that. And then speaking
- 19:38Speaker 1: of corners, let's go to the Panthers side of things.
- 19:40Speaker 1: They're gonna be without j C. Horn likely he had
- 19:42Speaker 1: risk surgery on Tuesday. The Panthers have since signed Josh
- 19:46Speaker 1: Norman and their safety Jeremy Chin didn't try to sugarcoat things.
- 19:50Speaker 1: He said that horns irreplaceable. You just can't make up
- 19:53Speaker 1: for that. But he said guys are gonna have to
- 19:54Speaker 1: step up. They're gonna have to fill that role. In
- 19:56Speaker 1: what Chin said he's doing this week, along with the
- 19:59Speaker 1: other veterans, is just trying to instill confidence and the
- 20:01Speaker 1: guys that are going to have to go in and
- 20:03Speaker 1: try and stop Tom Eightie, who Chin said, obviously the
- 20:06Speaker 1: greatest of all times, so we have to have elite
- 20:08Speaker 1: preparation this week. The Panthers really a Cinderella story if
- 20:13Speaker 1: you look at what they've gone through this season, still
- 20:15Speaker 1: have a chance to win the division, something they haven't
- 20:18Speaker 1: done Andrew since and they're the underdog here if you
- 20:23Speaker 1: want to look at those kinds of things. I'm not
- 20:26Speaker 1: sure why another Bucks are at home, but Sarah, the
- 20:28Speaker 1: Bucks got stopped by the Panthers back week seven. Yeah, Yeah,
- 20:33Speaker 1: stumped might be a little bit of an understatement there, Andrew.
- 20:36Speaker 1: They lost that game one to three, and when you
- 20:38Speaker 1: think about what was going on in Carolina at the time,
- 20:40Speaker 1: that was Steve wilkes first win after being named interim
- 20:43Speaker 1: head coach. That week was also the week they got
- 20:45Speaker 1: rid of Christian McCaffrey and shipped him out of there.
- 20:48Speaker 1: And yet the Panthers took the field in their home
- 20:50Speaker 1: place and they just ran all over the Buccaneers a
- 20:53Speaker 1: hundred and seventy six rushing yards to the Buccaneers forty
- 20:57Speaker 1: six in that game. Rushing has clearly been a problem
- 21:00Speaker 1: here in Tampa. The Bucks are well aware of it.
- 21:02Speaker 1: But the Panthers did a terrific job stopping the run
- 21:04Speaker 1: and game and they said that they know that they're
- 21:06Speaker 1: going to have to do that again. When you talk
- 21:08Speaker 1: about momentum, both of these teams are coming off wins,
- 21:11Speaker 1: but it has felt like this Panthers team has gotten
- 21:15Speaker 1: rolling in The Bucks are certainly well aware of that. Now,
- 21:18Speaker 1: going back to Tom Brady for a second, because I
- 21:20Speaker 1: know it was crazy when it was pointed out today
- 21:22Speaker 1: that he's lived more of his life in the NFL
- 21:24Speaker 1: than out of it. And every week there's a new
- 21:26Speaker 1: Tom Brady stat every game. Well here's another one for you.
- 21:29Speaker 1: In twenty one seasons as the primary starter, Tom Brady
- 21:33Speaker 1: has missed the playoffs just once, which is insane. Byron left,
- 21:37Speaker 1: which was asked about that, and he said, there's consistency,
- 21:39Speaker 1: and then there's Hall of Famers in the consistency that
- 21:42Speaker 1: they have, and then there's Tom Brady and he said,
- 21:45Speaker 1: what he has done when it comes to the postseason,
- 21:47Speaker 1: it's supersedes all of that. Tom can make everyone's life
- 21:51Speaker 1: easier here at One Buck Place if they just punched
- 21:53Speaker 1: their ticket on Sunday, and if they don't, well, then
- 21:57Speaker 1: this thing is going to go another week to be
- 21:59Speaker 1: played out in the NFC South. His football life has
- 22:02Speaker 1: been as been an amazing movie, much better than Benjamin Button,
- 22:06Speaker 1: one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Thank you
- 22:09Speaker 1: Sarah Walsh. There Live in Taplan. I mean I just
- 22:13Speaker 1: slept through that entire thing. Nothing happened. I woke up
- 22:15Speaker 1: forty minutes later to miss anything. No, nothing happened in
- 22:18Speaker 1: that movie. Most one hundred yard rushing games since one,
- 22:23Speaker 1: Derrick Cannery is the top the list of Look at
- 22:24Speaker 1: Dante Foreman down there with eight. Both Foreman and Chuba
- 22:28Speaker 1: Hubbard had a hundred yards before the half. Last week
- 22:32Speaker 1: before the half mark Ross the Panthers ran for nearly
- 22:36Speaker 1: three hundred and fifty yards. I mean they do that
- 22:39Speaker 1: this week they're keeping Tom Brady out of the playoffs. Uh, definitely,
- 22:43Speaker 1: but definitely didn't have taken shots at Benjamin Button on
- 22:45Speaker 1: a bingo card going into this day, Andrew. But that's
- 22:48Speaker 1: for another conversation. But the Panthers, as Sarah talked about,
- 22:52Speaker 1: the first game that Steve Wilkes coach was against the
- 22:54Speaker 1: Bucks and it was a different team. And this team
- 22:57Speaker 1: has all rallied around head coach Steve Wilts and players
- 23:02Speaker 1: know when they see a real one. You've heard theirs
- 23:05Speaker 1: throughout his whole time there where he's the same every day.
- 23:08Speaker 1: He's consistent, and that's what players really respect. I've been
- 23:11Speaker 1: around too soon to be future Hall of Fame coaches
- 23:13Speaker 1: and Andy Reid and Tom Coughlin completely different styles, but
- 23:17Speaker 1: you knew when you walked in that building, the players
- 23:19Speaker 1: knew what you were in for. And you see that
- 23:22Speaker 1: playing itself out on the field. Steve Wilkes talks about
- 23:25Speaker 1: playing smart and playing discipline, but also being physical, and
- 23:28Speaker 1: that's been the trademark of the Panthers. Okay, but now
- 23:31Speaker 1: to be physical, you gotta have those players to do
- 23:34Speaker 1: it too. You can't just talk about it. And it's
- 23:36Speaker 1: almost was hidden in playing sight that that offensive line
- 23:39Speaker 1: is pretty good there, rookie Ike Iguanda, you got bose
- 23:42Speaker 1: Men at center, Christensen Molten uh So, Austin Corbette. That's
- 23:46Speaker 1: a good group up front, and it's almost said, let's
- 23:48Speaker 1: just rely on these guys and then go gash then
- 23:51Speaker 1: with Jante Foreman, who was like a Derrick Henry light
- 23:54Speaker 1: when he was there at Tennessee and now he's bringing
- 23:56Speaker 1: that same sort of mash mouth style to the Panthers.
- 24:00Speaker 1: And Hubbard has had good games in there as well.
- 24:02Speaker 1: But that's all the mentality, the physical ment alley that's
- 24:05Speaker 1: been coached and preached. Flipping over to the defensive side
- 24:08Speaker 1: of the ball, Al Holcom, a man worked with the Giants,
- 24:11Speaker 1: has taken over as defensive coordinator. They've been more physical,
- 24:14Speaker 1: but again you gotta have players. Ryan Burns on there
- 24:17Speaker 1: in the Pro Bowl, Derek Brown has stepped up, so
- 24:20Speaker 1: both sides of the ball there Andrew more physical, more
- 24:23Speaker 1: well coached, more balanced, haven't been making mistakes, but physical, physical, physical,
- 24:27Speaker 1: but they got the personnel to do it. They punched
- 24:30Speaker 1: the Lions in the mouth last week, need to do
- 24:32Speaker 1: it to the Bucks this week. And we could be
- 24:35Speaker 1: talking about the Panthers and Steve Wilkes as NFC South champions.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Thank you, Mark. NFL now continues in a game day
- 24:43Speaker 1: back to the scene of that game. It's the Cowboys,
- 24:46Speaker 1: it's the Titans. It's a lot of lineup changes. It's
- 24:48Speaker 1: raining live with Jane Slater in Nashville. Straight ahead, ladies
- 24:58Speaker 1: and gentlemen. Time now to reveal the winner of the
- 25:00Speaker 1: Pepsi zero Sugar Rookie of the Week. And what do
- 25:04Speaker 1: you know, it's Rock Purty. Congratulations. Through a couple of
- 25:08Speaker 1: touchdowns two thirty four yards lead the Niners to yet
- 25:12Speaker 1: another victory. They're eleventh victory of the year by beating
- 25:17Speaker 1: the Washington Commanders, who are fighting for a playoff spot.
- 25:20Speaker 1: The Niners have already wrapped up the NFC West. The
- 25:23Speaker 1: Niners are fighting for playoffs seating here as well currently
- 25:27Speaker 1: the three seed. This guy, oh, by the way, is
- 25:31Speaker 1: a huge part of it as well, the guy they
- 25:32Speaker 1: were about to welcome onto the NFC playoff picture. Here
- 25:35Speaker 1: the Niners you see eleven and four wrapping up the West.
- 25:37Speaker 1: They still have a shot with a three team tie
- 25:40Speaker 1: at thirteen wins to get to number one here and
- 25:44Speaker 1: I mentioned this guy it's Pro Bowl safety Telenoga who
- 25:47Speaker 1: Fungo who joins us live now on Niners Camp. How
- 25:50Speaker 1: are you man? Thank you guys for having a Thank
- 25:54Speaker 1: you for being here. Let's talk about your quarterback. You
- 25:56Speaker 1: faced him when he was a scout team quarterback. Did
- 26:00Speaker 1: you see the magic from Brock Purty as a Scout
- 26:04Speaker 1: team orderback that we're seeing now? Definitely, definitely very blessed
- 26:09Speaker 1: and fortunately just having the locker room a guy, you know,
- 26:11Speaker 1: he's only two lockers down for me. I see the
- 26:13Speaker 1: preparation they put in daily. You know, there's even going
- 26:16Speaker 1: back to O T. A. S. And a guy that
- 26:19Speaker 1: just goes out there and and and let let it loose.
- 26:21Speaker 1: You know, he has all the confidence in the world
- 26:23Speaker 1: to go out there and make plays and helps our
- 26:25Speaker 1: team out a tremendous way. So very very lucky to
- 26:27Speaker 1: have him, for sure. So tell no, I mean the
- 26:29Speaker 1: fact that the offense is playing so well and so fluidly.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I mean, how much does it help your defense? Because
- 26:34Speaker 1: there were times this year where you guys were defense
- 26:36Speaker 1: reliant and now you're much more balanced at this point
- 26:39Speaker 1: of the season. Yeah, I just gotta continue to do
- 26:43Speaker 1: the do the little things right, you know, and for
- 26:45Speaker 1: us just to trust in our offense and and do
- 26:47Speaker 1: do our best on defense. Uh, you know, great things
- 26:50Speaker 1: will happen. So very blessed for sure. All right, You've
- 26:52Speaker 1: been blessed as well here and it's a lot of
- 26:54Speaker 1: hard work. Certainly you were on I remember, um, coming
- 26:57Speaker 1: out of school before the draft, and now it's come
- 27:00Speaker 1: full circle year two. Dude, you are a pro bowler, right,
- 27:03Speaker 1: you are in the conversation as well for all pro
- 27:06Speaker 1: how have you done it this year? And how have
- 27:09Speaker 1: you taken your game to the next level? You know?
- 27:12Speaker 1: For me, you know, first from us, I give all
- 27:14Speaker 1: the glory to God, you know. Personally, you know, I've
- 27:16Speaker 1: been blessed just to be around great people with the
- 27:18Speaker 1: support system. I couldn't do this without my teammates, you know,
- 27:21Speaker 1: and and having the coaches around me. Um, you know,
- 27:24Speaker 1: but we put a lot of work in this offseason
- 27:26Speaker 1: together and you get to see the fruits of our labor,
- 27:29Speaker 1: you know, show up on the field. So very blessed.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Like I said, I'm just excited to be on a
- 27:33Speaker 1: on a great team in the organization like the Niners.
- 27:35Speaker 1: So um, it's got to continue to work because you know,
- 27:37Speaker 1: that's not our end goal for us. Um, we just
- 27:39Speaker 1: gotta continue to continue to work. For sure, when you
- 27:42Speaker 1: watch this defense, When I watch the defense, I see
- 27:45Speaker 1: all three levels, the D front, linebacker, secondary working in
- 27:49Speaker 1: such perfect unison. Is there, like, what are the discussion
- 27:52Speaker 1: Is there any any any competition, Like, Okay, we're gonna
- 27:56Speaker 1: get too many tackles as as a D line or
- 27:58Speaker 1: linebackers because all three levels are so physical as well.
- 28:03Speaker 1: I mean, what are some of the competitions some of
- 28:04Speaker 1: them prestations in practice. Uh, you know, it's funny because
- 28:08Speaker 1: you know, guys are you know, we're all really supportive
- 28:10Speaker 1: each other, you know, and everything's tied together. You know.
- 28:13Speaker 1: If we have a good rush up front, uh, you know,
- 28:15Speaker 1: and we get sticking in the back end, we can
- 28:16Speaker 1: get sacks, you know, and guys are creating turnovers, creating
- 28:19Speaker 1: bad balls, bad throws, um, and everybody just rallies to
- 28:22Speaker 1: the football, you know, and we do that, great things
- 28:24Speaker 1: will happen. You know, they preached it. It's just energy
- 28:26Speaker 1: is contagious on the field, and so you know, it
- 28:28Speaker 1: takes a great defense to have a great great defense
- 28:31Speaker 1: play at all three levels. And when you get all
- 28:32Speaker 1: those three on on the same page. You know, you
- 28:34Speaker 1: can see all these plays that are being made from
- 28:36Speaker 1: guys all the way around on the team. Great things
- 28:39Speaker 1: will happen. Telling out yesterday your head coach Kyle Shanahan
- 28:41Speaker 1: basically pounded the podium for Nick Bos for Defensive Player
- 28:45Speaker 1: of the Year. Big article a couple of days ago.
- 28:47Speaker 1: But how he's totally changed his diet, Like, no more Chipotle,
- 28:49Speaker 1: he eats a v J, No more short ribs he's
- 28:52Speaker 1: eating too in a pok. He gets no more fast
- 28:55Speaker 1: food in the morning. Um, it's nothing but fruit juices
- 28:58Speaker 1: at his house. Are are you on his diet as well?
- 29:01Speaker 1: And if not, are you going to change? I needed
- 29:04Speaker 1: I need to get on that diet. I'm on. I'm
- 29:06Speaker 1: on a on a Troy POLAMALU die right now. So
- 29:08Speaker 1: I just gotta continue to work on that. But now,
- 29:10Speaker 1: he's definitely one of the hardest working dudes you'll ever find,
- 29:13Speaker 1: a guy that has a work ethic like none other.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Shows up. Is intentional on everything he does, whether it's
- 29:18Speaker 1: being in the hot tub doing it stretches, you know,
- 29:20Speaker 1: it's it's really just down to the stretches in the
- 29:22Speaker 1: hot tub. He's stretching everywhere I see him. My story
- 29:25Speaker 1: like he's doing pass us moves, you know, I think, Uh,
- 29:27Speaker 1: because mcgannon's when he was talking about that press conference.
- 29:30Speaker 1: You know, it's funny talking about how he does pastorates.
- 29:32Speaker 1: It's true. A guy that goes around the corner of
- 29:34Speaker 1: a doorway and he's and he's doing a pass us
- 29:36Speaker 1: move into the locker room. So uh, it makes sense
- 29:39Speaker 1: why he's going out there and and man handling guys
- 29:42Speaker 1: and getting quarterbacks on the ground, you know, And it's
- 29:44Speaker 1: it's it helps us on the back end for sure.
- 29:46Speaker 1: So I can't complain at all. I'm sure this is
- 29:48Speaker 1: good news for your opponent this week, the Raiders. You know,
- 29:52Speaker 1: what about your mentality going in and facing the club
- 29:55Speaker 1: that's kind of going what they're going through. They're changing quarterbacks,
- 29:57Speaker 1: you know, Chandler Jones is hurt, Dentel Perryman is hurt.
- 30:01Speaker 1: You know, they're they're gonna be diminished. I mean, what's
- 30:03Speaker 1: your mentality going into this game? Uh? Like every other game,
- 30:08Speaker 1: you know, a team that's in desperate and that's it's
- 30:10Speaker 1: gonna claw and scratch the way to get a win.
- 30:12Speaker 1: So for us, we gotta we gotta bring our a game.
- 30:14Speaker 1: We got prepared at the highest level to play a
- 30:16Speaker 1: great team in the Raiders. You know they got they
- 30:18Speaker 1: still got great guys all around the ball, offense and defensively,
- 30:22Speaker 1: and so for us, we just gotta, you know, capitalize
- 30:24Speaker 1: on the opportunity at the hand and go out there
- 30:25Speaker 1: and make place to win a game. And only a
- 30:27Speaker 1: second year is a fifth round pick out of USC
- 30:30Speaker 1: Right down the street from where we set comes round
- 30:33Speaker 1: the corner doing this right, Telenoah who found got congratulations
- 30:38Speaker 1: on the Pro Bowl and your success this year personally
- 30:41Speaker 1: and for the team as well. Good luck man, Happy holidays,
- 30:43Speaker 1: Thank you guys so much, appreciate it. Happy holidays. Thank you,
- 30:46Speaker 1: sir Telenoah who founda They're on Niner's cam as they
- 30:50Speaker 1: are the three seed climb a little higher the end.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Big is their hot toup for boasted to be stretching.
- 30:57Speaker 1: That's you got one of your house, a hot tub
- 31:01Speaker 1: now a big balance. I don't you should see the
- 31:03Speaker 1: view from White's house. That's the view in Nashville as
- 31:07Speaker 1: we get ready for the Cowboys and the Titan. Jane
- 31:09Speaker 1: Slater with us live in the rain in Nashville for
- 31:12Speaker 1: the t n F finale here. T Y Hilton Jane
- 31:16Speaker 1: had a huge welcome to Dallas moment last week. What
- 31:21Speaker 1: is he met here for the Cowboys says, they try
- 31:23Speaker 1: to keep the pressure on the Eagles. Look Andrew, the
- 31:27Speaker 1: reason why they went out and got a guy like
- 31:29Speaker 1: t Y Hilton was to give them someone who can
- 31:31Speaker 1: stretch the field and also someone that can help him
- 31:33Speaker 1: in the postseason. And when you saw that third and
- 31:35Speaker 1: thirty catch against the Eagles, he certainly made a statement. Now,
- 31:39Speaker 1: I do anticipate that we'll see a lot more of
- 31:41Speaker 1: him tonight, particularly when you consider that the Titans defense
- 31:44Speaker 1: has been thirty first against the past and tonight a
- 31:48Speaker 1: Monti hooker. Their safety has been rolled out, their cornerback
- 31:51Speaker 1: Christian Fulton has been listed as doubtful, so gonna be tough. Ceedee.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Lamb loves the addition of t Y Hilton, by the way,
- 31:58Speaker 1: he said, if you want to double team, I got
- 32:01Speaker 1: guys on the outside. And it was t Y Hilton
- 32:03Speaker 1: who reminded this week that if you think you can't,
- 32:06Speaker 1: if you think I can't run, I'll show you, and
- 32:08Speaker 1: he certainly did. Lamb said, look at five ten, don't
- 32:11Speaker 1: let that size deceive you. The speed will sneak up
- 32:14Speaker 1: on you. So again, I anticipate that they're going to
- 32:16Speaker 1: go to him a lot tonight because they want to
- 32:18Speaker 1: make sure they've got him ready to go for the postseason.
- 32:20Speaker 1: All right. The Ghost, as they call him, was Ghost
- 32:23Speaker 1: and Eagles on third and thirty last week. Jane Slater,
- 32:27Speaker 1: Thank you, Jane. They're in Nashville for the t n
- 32:30Speaker 1: F Finale. NFL Now is a production of the NFL
