Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Intelligence today, that industry is changing hand over fist very, very often.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: And I will tell you that with all of the developments that happen on a daily basis, all the news that I digest with regard to artificial intelligence, it definitely is changing everything.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: And right now, I heard this is probably when I first started looking at it a couple of years ago.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: I heard that they're only a few good ideas away from even better, even more.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: New development will be complete game changers.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: And we've seen that transcribe or have actually happen through the last several months when you had OpenAI reveal its first model.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: I believe that was 2023 when everybody kind of became aware of it.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: And then from there it's just gone crazy.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Lots of people are talking about it.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Big governments are investing in it.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: We are now trying to hold back things from China, and China is using less than our technology, at least less than that the valuable chipsets, those things that actually don't have the high performance that our chips here in the United States do, the processing units, but they're using innovation and they're making things even faster, better with less.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: That's something that I think we should all keep an eye on.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: And if there's something that you can do about it, maybe talk to those powers that be, because definitely we are not ascribing to that old-fashioned rule that we should slow our roll and make sure that we're not getting into something that's going to become detrimental for everyone.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: It's very easy to jump on the moneywagon.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: It's very easy to hold on to it, but I believe this could be a good thing for all of humankind.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: It could solve every disease, it could give us the longevity if you want it or not.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: It could actually make life wonderful for everyone.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Because there is plenty, it's just about having the intelligence to be able to get everybody plenty.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: And it could be a point where actual jobs aren't really a thing anymore because artificial intelligence has turned this world into a utopia.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: But it's going to depend on number one, who has the reins?
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Number two, how is the artificial intelligence actually aligned?
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Is it aligned with the betterment of humankind and mind, or is it aligned with self-preservation and the way that we lie to each other and ourselves?
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Definitely things to consider.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: If you're out there and you have some kind of control over the process, guardrails might not be a bad idea, but I don't know what those guardrails would look like or those control mechanisms would look like.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: I hear AI talked about as tools.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: You have more narrow AI that's able to do specific functions, maybe that's the answer.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: I'm Connor with Honor.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I'll see you in the next one.
