Latest / The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson / Buyer’s Remorse? Carville Torches Hasan Piker as Dems Turn on Their Own
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, I mean, there's two things that I know about
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hassan Paikin. One, he's an idiot, and two, he's not
- 0:06Speaker 1: a Democrat. So I don't answer for idiots, and I
- 0:10Speaker 1: don't answer for people who are not Democrats.
- 0:13Speaker 2: And then you think about.
- 0:13Speaker 3: James Carville, I'm like, bro, you architected the complete right-wing
- 0:18Speaker 3: ascent to neoliberalism in 96. He said one smart thing once,
- 0:22Speaker 3: which he seems to have forgotten.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Which is, it's the economy, stupid.
- 0:26Speaker 4: You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Good Thursday morning.
- 0:31Speaker 5: It's nice to have you with us on the 47
- 0:33Speaker 5: Morning Update, and we've got a big story for you.
- 0:36Speaker 5: There is a civil war that is breaking out inside
- 0:38Speaker 5: the Democratic Party. The same people that used to say
- 0:41Speaker 5: that Donald Trump was the worst person in the world
- 0:43Speaker 5: and the biggest idiot in the world are now saying
- 0:45Speaker 5: their own colleagues are the biggest idiots they've ever seen.
- 0:49Speaker 5: And many Democrats are now demanding that the Democratic Socialists
- 0:53Speaker 5: of America drop the name Democratic.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Oh, it's not a joke. So what does this mean
- 0:58Speaker 2: for the midterms? I break it all down for you.
- 1:01Speaker 5: And before we get to that, 25 years ago on
- 1:04Speaker 5: September the 11th, 2001, America faced the heartbreak of terrorism
- 1:08Speaker 5: at home. Three years ago, on October the 7th, 2023,
- 1:13Speaker 5: Israel endured that same heartbreak in the Holy Land. Different decades,
- 1:18Speaker 5: different attacks, the same evil. Each year, the International Fellowship
- 1:23Speaker 5: of Christians and Jews hosts Flags of Fellowship. It's a
- 1:26Speaker 5: movement where thousands of churches display memorial flags to honor
- 1:31Speaker 5: the 1,200 lives lost on October the 7th. And it's
- 1:34Speaker 5: a way to stand with Israel in faith, prayer, remembrance,
- 1:38Speaker 5: and solidarity. Now each flag represents a loved one, a
- 1:42Speaker 5: family forever changed, and a promise that we will not forget. Today,
- 1:47Speaker 5: hatred and violence still threaten our world, yet Scripture calls
- 1:51Speaker 5: on us to stand firm, to comfort the grieving, to
- 1:55Speaker 5: honor the lost, and shine a light in the darkness. Together,
- 1:58Speaker 5: we remember, we honor, and declare that evil will not
- 2:02Speaker 5: have the final word.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Now, I want you to join thousands of.
- 2:05Speaker 5: Churches across America in this powerful act of remembrance and
- 2:10Speaker 5: support for Israel. Learn how you and your church can
- 2:14Speaker 5: participate in Flags of Fellowship at joinfof.org. Tell your church
- 2:20Speaker 5: about it today. That's joinfof.org. It's the 47 Morning Update,
- 2:27Speaker 5: and it starts right now.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Story number one.
- 2:31Speaker 5: So there's a civil war, that's what some are calling it,
- 2:33Speaker 5: within the Democratic Party right now over the radical left.
- 2:37Speaker 5: I'm talking about the Hassan Pikers, you know, the guy
- 2:39Speaker 5: that said that America deserved 9-11. And the Abdul El-Saeeds and,
- 2:44Speaker 5: you know, the AOCs and the Democratic Socialists of America. Now,
- 2:48Speaker 5: the question is, is it actually a civil war or
- 2:53Speaker 5: is it just buyer's remorse? James Carville, who is a
- 2:57Speaker 5: brilliant political mind, one of the best I've ever seen
- 3:00Speaker 5: on the Democratic side, a man who got the most
- 3:03Speaker 5: out of Bill Clinton and in many ways saved his
- 3:06Speaker 5: presidency multiple times over. He is now calling Hassan Piker
- 3:11Speaker 5: an idiot and demands that the Democratic Socialists of America
- 3:15Speaker 5: remove the word Democrat from their name.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Why?
- 3:20Speaker 5: Because he says it's tarnishing the Democratic Party. Now, Democratic
- 3:24Speaker 5: socialists call themselves Democratic socialists because they believe that they
- 3:29Speaker 5: are a combination of the Democratic Party and socialism. James
- 3:33Speaker 5: Carmel is saying, no, no, no, no, no. You can't
- 3:36Speaker 5: have it. You can't have it at all. Now, Piker
- 3:39Speaker 5: is a self-described socialist who hates America. and has campaigned
- 3:43Speaker 5: with Democratic U.S. Senate candidate for the Democratic Party, Abdul El-Sayed.
- 3:49Speaker 5: He has become a leading voice of the far left
- 3:52Speaker 5: as socialists fight to influence the Democratic Party as a whole.
- 3:56Speaker 5: And that is where the, quote, civil wars, I would
- 3:59Speaker 5: describe it the fake civil war, actually are becoming a thing.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Quote, there are two things I know about Assam Piker. One,
- 4:07Speaker 2: he's an idiot.
- 4:07Speaker 5: And two, he's not a Democrat. So I don't answer
- 4:10Speaker 5: for idiots. And I don't answer for people who are
- 4:13Speaker 5: not Democrats. Now, that's what James Carville said on Fox
- 4:17Speaker 5: News Channel. He can say that all he wants to.
- 4:20Speaker 5: But the reality is he absolutely is a Democrat. And
- 4:22Speaker 5: he absolutely is a member of the Democratic's wing of
- 4:26Speaker 5: the party. The idea that he's an idiot, by the way,
- 4:29Speaker 5: as James Carville described him, well, that's the part that's
- 4:31Speaker 5: pretty funny to me. Because this is an individual that
- 4:36Speaker 5: grew in its significance inside the left side of the
- 4:40Speaker 5: Democratic Party for years. They made him famous. They made
- 4:44Speaker 5: him rich. They watch his show. They listen to what
- 4:47Speaker 5: he says. And now you have Democrats that are campaigning
- 4:51Speaker 5: with Hassan Piker. Now, I want you to listen to
- 4:55Speaker 5: what James Carville had to say in its entirety on
- 4:59Speaker 5: the story with Martha McCallum on Fox News Channel. Listen
- 5:02Speaker 5: carefully to how mad he is and ask yourself the question,
- 5:05Speaker 5: why is it only now when we're getting close to
- 5:07Speaker 5: the election, when you're afraid you may actually lose in
- 5:10Speaker 5: the election, are you speaking out with this much anger?
- 5:14Speaker 2: Why is it that it.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Took so long for them to say, well, they're not
- 5:18Speaker 5: really what we are? Could it just simply be buyer's remorse?
- 5:22Speaker 5: I'll let you decide.
- 5:23Speaker 6: Democratic Socialist of America standing by left-wing streamer Hassan Piker,
- 5:27Speaker 6: who once said the U.S. deserved 9-11. He later said
- 5:31Speaker 6: he did not mean that the U.S. deserved to be attacked,
- 5:34Speaker 6: calling his comment inappropriate as we close in on the
- 5:37Speaker 6: 25th anniversary of September 11th in just several days. So
- 5:41Speaker 6: the GSA accusing the establishment Democrats, Republicans, and the media
- 5:46Speaker 6: of having, quote, an obsession with a Twitch streamer. Then,
- 5:50Speaker 6: adding Piker's handle and, quote, our Twitch streamer. With that,
- 5:55Speaker 6: we bring in longtime Democratic strategist and commentator James Carville. Jim,
- 5:58Speaker 6: always good to have you with us. Thank you for
- 6:00Speaker 6: joining me today.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Well, thank you.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 6:03Speaker 6: So, you know, I want to actually— go ahead.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Well, I mean, there's two things that I know about
- 6:07Speaker 1: Hassan Piker. Okay.
- 6:09Speaker 2: One, he's an idiot.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And two, he's not a Democrat. So I don't answer
- 6:14Speaker 1: for idiots, and I don't answer for people who are
- 6:16Speaker 1: not Democrats.
- 6:18Speaker 6: All right, let me just play this quick soundbite of
- 6:20Speaker 6: Piker and El-Sayed, and you won't have to answer for him,
- 6:23Speaker 6: but this is what he answered for you.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Watch.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Okay, we got John Fetterman, James Carville, fantasizing about leaving
- 6:30Speaker 2: the party. I'm like, you're sweetening the deal.
- 6:33Speaker 3: And then you think about James Carville, I'm like, bro,
- 6:35Speaker 3: you architected the complete right-wing ascent to neoliberalism in 96.
- 6:41Speaker 3: He said one smart thing once, which he seems to
- 6:43Speaker 3: have forgotten, which is, it's the economy, stupid.
- 6:47Speaker 1: All right.
- 6:47Speaker 6: So I'll say, Ed, the Michigan candidate who is about
- 6:50Speaker 6: six or seven points ahead last time I looked says
- 6:53Speaker 6: you've said one smart thing. It's the economy stupid, claiming
- 6:56Speaker 6: that that's where their focus is now.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Well, you know, most people go through life and never
- 7:00Speaker 1: say a single smart thing, so I'm glad that he
- 7:02Speaker 1: thinks I said one smart thing. I'll take that. But
- 7:06Speaker 1: I can't answer for these left-wing idiots. Okay, some people,
- 7:10Speaker 1: and I have a pretty wide strong zone, by the way.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I don't expect everybody to agree with me. I understand that.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I'm a Democrat.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I'm part of a big coalition, a big tent, and
- 7:19Speaker 1: we all have an admission policy, but thank God Heisenpiker
- 7:23Speaker 1: doesn't want in our frat because we don't want him.
- 7:26Speaker 6: All right, so, you know, with regard to the Big Ten,
- 7:30Speaker 6: you know, I see people sort of trying to walk
- 7:32Speaker 6: that line with these guys all the time. It could
- 7:36Speaker 6: have been— they could have been pushed out. They could have said, well,
- 7:38Speaker 6: you've got to run in your own party. We're not
- 7:40Speaker 6: the Democratic Socialists. Is that still a possibility, or do
- 7:44Speaker 6: you think that, you know, they're going to have some
- 7:45Speaker 6: success in six weeks from now?
- 7:49Speaker 1: What I would tell a Democratic Socialist, why use— if you
- 7:52Speaker 1: hate the Democratic brand so much, why use our words? Yeah.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Go call yourself something else. Call yourself the Socialists of America.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Don't put the first word in your title Democratic because
- 8:04Speaker 1: that's the party. That's our party. That's the party of
- 8:08Speaker 1: civil rights. That's the party of women's rights. That's the
- 8:10Speaker 1: party of balanced budget. That's the party of prosperity. Don't
- 8:14Speaker 1: use our name. Make up your own name. That's what I.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Would tell them.
- 8:18Speaker 6: You know, I mean, obviously, there has been over the
- 8:21Speaker 6: last several years an inflation issue. We talk a lot
- 8:23Speaker 6: about affordability. You know, these guys don't really have an
- 8:28Speaker 6: answer for that other than spending more government money, which
- 8:31Speaker 6: is how we got this inflation in the first place.
- 8:34Speaker 1: First of all, the United States has existed for 250 years.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Donald Trump hasn't been president for six of the 250.
- 8:41Speaker 1: And his person was responsible for one third of the
- 8:44Speaker 1: entire debt. So I'm very happy to see that people
- 8:49Speaker 1: are concerned about the debt. By the way, who is
- 8:52Speaker 1: the last president under which we had a balanced budget?
- 8:54Speaker 1: I happen to know the answer.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Bill Clinton.
- 8:57Speaker 6: Well, there's no Bill Clintons around in this group of Democrats.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Nobody's talking about welfare reform anymore, Jim.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Well, because welfare has been reformed. We did it.
- 9:12Speaker 2: We won.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Victory. And by the way, there are a lot of
- 9:15Speaker 1: people in a Democratic Party. I mean, President Clinton, he
- 9:19Speaker 1: made 80 on August 19th. I know that because it's
- 9:21Speaker 1: his same birthday. My wife has the same birthday as
- 9:23Speaker 1: Temple Gore.
- 9:25Speaker 2: We won. Well, these guys are talking.
- 9:27Speaker 6: About expanding benefits programs dramatically. Free buses, free education. I
- 9:32Speaker 6: got to leave it there. I'm sorry we got you
- 9:34Speaker 6: at the end of the show. But thank you so much.
- 9:36Speaker 6: Good to see you.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Always appreciate it.
- 9:40Speaker 5: You listen to James Carville there. Isn't it interesting how
- 9:42Speaker 5: he's trying to go back and just completely change? He's
- 9:46Speaker 5: saying these guys and the Democratic Socialists of America, they're
- 9:51Speaker 5: not actually us. We've got John Fetterman, James Carville. I
- 9:56Speaker 5: go back to what Hassan Piker was saying there with
- 9:59Speaker 5: El Saeed. fantasizing about leaving the party I'm like you're
- 10:02Speaker 5: sweetening the deal Piker said in that recent stream and
- 10:05Speaker 5: we played that for you a moment ago Carville by
- 10:08Speaker 5: the way again denouncing the DSA that's the part where
- 10:13Speaker 5: I just have to laugh you created them You absolutely
- 10:18Speaker 5: created them. You spoon-fed them. You bottle-fed them before that.
- 10:24Speaker 5: You raised them. The Democratic Party helped take over how
- 10:29Speaker 5: many different places? And not just in government, but also
- 10:33Speaker 5: how many different places in education, right? Countless times, countless times,
- 10:40Speaker 5: they took over public schools, middle schools, elementary schools, high schools,
- 10:44Speaker 5: and indoctrinated kids to hate this country. The universities, the
- 10:48Speaker 5: same thing. So what ended up happening? It's pretty clear.
- 10:53Speaker 5: They've decided to take a generation, which they did, Hasan
- 10:57Speaker 5: Piker is a part of it, and say America is
- 10:59Speaker 5: the worst country in the world and America is evil
- 11:02Speaker 5: and you must dismantle it. You must dismantle it. That's
- 11:08Speaker 5: what they've done. And now, He's coming out and he's saying,
- 11:12Speaker 5: get out of my party. This isn't your party. This
- 11:14Speaker 5: is my party. You're not a Democrat. Go start your
- 11:17Speaker 5: own party. And you notice Martha asked a very interesting
- 11:21Speaker 5: question there, and he didn't have a great answer for it.
- 11:23Speaker 5: In fact, he dodged it. Then why did you let
- 11:25Speaker 5: them run under the Democrat name? They ran the Democrat primary.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Why did you let them run in the Democratic primary?
- 11:35Speaker 5: Why is it that you let them act like they
- 11:37Speaker 5: are one of you if you're now claiming that that
- 11:40Speaker 5: you are not, that they are not one of you.
- 11:43Speaker 5: Secretary Scott Besson said this about socialists, and this is
- 11:46Speaker 5: the Hassan Pikers, it's the communists, the Marxist socialists. He
- 11:50Speaker 5: said this today on Larry Kudlow's show.
- 11:51Speaker 2: It was very interesting.
- 11:52Speaker 7: Listen. I think we have a generational opportunity in the
- 11:56Speaker 7: Western hemisphere. As you said, it was led by Argentina
- 12:00Speaker 7: and the reforms there. Everyone said it couldn't be done.
- 12:04Speaker 7: And now we are seeing that the inflation drop the
- 12:10Speaker 7: change in economic circumstances. And, Larry, I thought what was
- 12:14Speaker 7: most interesting, and when you talk about socialism here in
- 12:17Speaker 7: the U.S., when we look at the demographic of those voters,
- 12:22Speaker 7: they are overeducated and under-earning. So these are underachievers who
- 12:27Speaker 7: are jealous of those who want to go and work
- 12:30Speaker 7: every day. And if you were to dissect the last
- 12:35Speaker 7: election that President Malay had, that it was the poorest
- 12:38Speaker 7: segment of society and the young people who came out
- 12:42Speaker 7: and voted for him. That's right. But as you said,
- 12:44Speaker 7: we're seeing Argentina, we're seeing Bolivia, we're seeing Colombia, we're
- 12:48Speaker 7: seeing Chile come back, Ecuador. And I think we could
- 12:52Speaker 7: see many more.
- 12:53Speaker 5: You know, you go back to the quote there from
- 12:55Speaker 5: Secretary Besson on socialists. They are overeducated and under earning.
- 13:00Speaker 5: So these are they're underachievers who are jealous of those
- 13:03Speaker 5: who want to go And work every day, work hard
- 13:07Speaker 5: every day.
- 13:08Speaker 2: He's right.
- 13:09Speaker 5: So when you hear these Democrats now freaking out, it's
- 13:12Speaker 5: not because of what the democratic socialists believe in. It's
- 13:15Speaker 5: because they are afraid. It is because they are very
- 13:20Speaker 5: afraid that they're going to lose the election, which means
- 13:23Speaker 5: they lose power. If they didn't like these people, they
- 13:26Speaker 5: should have policed them, but they love them. They, they, they,
- 13:28Speaker 5: they created them out of nothing. They supported them. They
- 13:33Speaker 5: gave them their money. They allowed them to run as Democrats.
- 13:36Speaker 5: They didn't kick them out of the party. And now
- 13:38Speaker 5: they're having buyer's remorse. That is what this is. I
- 13:43Speaker 5: go back to Hassan Piker and what he said. I don't, quote,
- 13:48Speaker 5: I hate, you know, I hate America. We deserve 9-11, right?
- 13:51Speaker 5: Hassan Piker said that. That is what Hassan Piker said.
- 13:56Speaker 5: That is who the Democratic Party has allowed to become
- 14:00Speaker 5: so big.
- 14:01Speaker 2: That's the reality of this.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Thank you for listening to the 47 Morning Update with
