- 0:05Speaker 1: Hello, gorgeous, welcome back to give them La Lot podcast.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I am a little over a week post op, and
- 0:13Speaker 1: they're feeling myself.
- 0:15Speaker 2: How is your body feeling? Are you sore?
- 0:18Speaker 1: Well?
- 0:18Speaker 3: They did a lot of work on the left boob right, like.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Put some sort of mesh hammock in, and apparently my
- 0:25Speaker 1: implant had like fallen super far over so they did
- 0:28Speaker 1: a lot of reconstruction over there on like the inside
- 0:32Speaker 1: of the booby, and the ear was the easiest. Everyone
- 0:36Speaker 1: kept telling me the ear is going to be so painful.
- 0:38Speaker 1: It's one of the most excruciating surgeries, like cosmetic surgeries
- 0:42Speaker 1: you can have.
- 0:44Speaker 3: And it's been a breeze, so thank you.
- 0:47Speaker 1: But by the way, the boobs have been a breeze too,
- 0:49Speaker 1: and they look incredible, So thank you to doctor Laky
- 0:54Speaker 1: and doctor Daniel Poor because I feel like a hot
- 0:57Speaker 1: motherfucker people thought.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I think people enjoyed the video of you right out
- 1:03Speaker 2: of anesthetia. I sure enjoyed it.
- 1:07Speaker 3: I love that you did that.
- 1:09Speaker 1: And what's so funny is that I was still thinking about,
- 1:11Speaker 1: like I went into surgery having these concerns. Yeah, Like
- 1:16Speaker 1: I was so concerned I was gonna fart. Doctor Lakey
- 1:19Speaker 1: and doctor Daniel po are very hot, you know, like
- 1:22Speaker 1: they're super hot. Yeah, and I was like, I can't
- 1:25Speaker 1: rip ass in front of in front of the you know,
- 1:29Speaker 1: like I just can't. So I was very concerned about that.
- 1:32Speaker 1: In the second I was like coherent.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I don't remember.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Anything that I said, but it was funny to see
- 1:37Speaker 1: that I was still concerned about those things.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and I got consent from that. Like the day before,
- 1:42Speaker 2: I think Lala mentioned. Lala mentioned it would be funny
- 1:45Speaker 2: to take a video on the day a while ago. Yeah,
- 1:48Speaker 2: and then I would have to record it, yes, exactly.
- 1:50Speaker 2: And then I was like, tomorrow, can I no matter what,
- 1:53Speaker 2: can I record when I walk in and you went,
- 1:55Speaker 2: you have to?
- 1:56Speaker 1: The thing is is yes, record it. If it was mortifying,
- 2:00Speaker 1: I don't need to share it. Yeah, but it was
- 2:01Speaker 1: amazing if I put on my page, Oh, it's great.
- 2:04Speaker 1: So many people were supportive of my decision. It's still
- 2:07Speaker 1: so crazy to me when people say you were so
- 2:11Speaker 1: beautiful natural, I'm like, my tits have always been fake.
- 2:15Speaker 1: What the fuck are you talking about?
- 2:17Speaker 2: When was your first When did you first get them done?
- 2:19Speaker 3: Twenty? Oh? Yeah, yeah, I was due.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I was due for an upgrade, and then with Ocean,
- 2:25Speaker 1: they were just like sad, little like half inflated water
- 2:29Speaker 1: ballooons right like neer. So yeah, I got them done.
- 2:34Speaker 1: And I also there was one person that was like,
- 2:36Speaker 1: boys don't like big boobs. I was like, I didn't
- 2:38Speaker 1: fucking do this for boys.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Who asked the boys' opinion?
- 2:41Speaker 3: Wrong audience?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah he saw that you said a wrong audience? Who like,
- 2:46Speaker 2: who cares?
- 2:46Speaker 3: Speaking of boys?
- 2:47Speaker 1: So there was one hot guy that we were talking
- 2:50Speaker 1: about that I met on tour, right, yes, So he
- 2:54Speaker 1: like sent me a couple of dick pics and I like,
- 2:57Speaker 1: let it slide. I didn't acknowledge them. I just like
- 3:00Speaker 1: pretended like it didn't happen. He didn't acknowledge them either,
- 3:04Speaker 1: talk talk, talk whatever. A few nights ago, I he
- 3:09Speaker 1: you know, I wake up the next morning and he
- 3:11Speaker 1: has sent me another one, a third one, A.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Third dick pick.
- 3:15Speaker 2: My god.
- 3:16Speaker 1: But what he said following the dick pick warranted an
- 3:20Speaker 1: immediate block. He said, I can't wait to see how
- 3:24Speaker 1: far you can put this in your mouth. First of all,
- 3:26Speaker 1: it was huge, so you're gonna be very disappointed if
- 3:29Speaker 1: it ever entered my mouth, which it never.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Fucking would Yeah, like you what do you mean you
- 3:33Speaker 3: can't wait? Right? You're not getting that from me? You weirdo?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Oh even know you unsolicited dick pick? What is this
- 3:42Speaker 2: two thousand and five?
- 3:44Speaker 3: It's so.
- 3:46Speaker 1: And by the way, yeah, if you ever want to
- 3:48Speaker 1: become something in life, and let's just say, in the
- 3:50Speaker 1: small percent chance you do, which meaning becomes something in
- 3:55Speaker 1: the public eye, which is what he wants to do,
- 3:57Speaker 1: you're gonna have a lot of cleanup to do.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Dude.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you've met me one time and you didn't ask
- 4:03Speaker 2: for it, right, No, of course, yeah, no, I'm just
- 4:05Speaker 2: checking because like, and I didn't mean two thousand and five,
- 4:08Speaker 2: it'd be more like twenty ten. But he just sent
- 4:11Speaker 2: it like willy nilly, not even nothing, and you didn't
- 4:16Speaker 2: even hint it you wanted to see it, and then
- 4:17Speaker 2: he sent it over. That's wild to me. People still
- 4:21Speaker 2: do that. If you're a man listening to this, don't
- 4:24Speaker 2: do that.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Don't do it, and certainly don't say that you can't
- 4:26Speaker 1: wait to see how far that someone can fit it
- 4:28Speaker 1: in their mouth, because number one, I'm offunded.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Number two, I'm grossed out.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Number three And my mom said, well, what did you say? Yes,
- 4:34Speaker 1: I told my mom about it.
- 4:35Speaker 3: She was like, how did you respond? And I was like,
- 4:37Speaker 3: he doesn't get a response from me. I just blocked him.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to see it, and with that what
- 4:44Speaker 1: you just said, Like, while you're talking this way, I'm
- 4:50Speaker 1: dealing with like a sick daughter. Yeah, I'm rubbing calami
- 4:54Speaker 1: lotion all over her body because she has a rash,
- 4:57Speaker 1: right while you're sending me dick pics talking about it
- 5:01Speaker 1: being in my mouth, Like, I'm a thirty one year
- 5:03Speaker 1: old grown ass woman who's a mother. Show a little
- 5:06Speaker 1: fucking respect love that. Would you like a man to
- 5:09Speaker 1: be sending your mother messages like that? No, you would
- 5:13Speaker 1: want to punch them in the face. Yeah, so don't
- 5:16Speaker 1: send me shit like that. Yeah, someone's mom and someone's
- 5:19Speaker 1: kid have a little fucking respect.
- 5:21Speaker 2: So you blocked him.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I blocked him.
- 5:23Speaker 2: So you guys are just in two different spaces in
- 5:25Speaker 2: your life.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I mean, my.
- 5:27Speaker 2: God, I was not having also you letting him or
- 5:31Speaker 2: allowing him grace to like send him send it twice?
- 5:37Speaker 3: Hello?
- 5:38Speaker 2: Did you not get the hint when she didn't respond
- 5:40Speaker 2: and pretended like business is usual? I'm not going to
- 5:43Speaker 2: respond to that.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but there we go. There were just more red flags.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Yeah. And then there was another guy who I was into.
- 5:50Speaker 1: He was like totally normal, and then he told me
- 5:52Speaker 1: he was like, sorry, I went to a strip club
- 5:54Speaker 1: last night, and I was like, man, there we go.
- 5:56Speaker 1: I don't need I don't need whoever I'm talking to
- 5:58Speaker 1: to be going to strip clubs either. Right.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Is that a deal breaker nowadays?
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:04Speaker 2: Them like going to strip clubs, enjoying strip clubs.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 1: And by the way, I'm not judging you if you
- 6:08Speaker 1: go to a strip club, go to a strip club.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I used to love the strip clubs. I'm not there
- 6:12Speaker 1: in my life anymore. And I want to be compatible
- 6:15Speaker 1: with my partner. Yeah, So I'm not saying don't go
- 6:18Speaker 1: to a strip club. I'm just saying, you're we're not
- 6:21Speaker 1: on the same page.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Right, we're not compatible. You don't have to settle. No,
- 6:24Speaker 2: you don't have to be like ugh, I mean he's
- 6:26Speaker 2: so great, but he does this, So I I guess
- 6:29Speaker 2: maybe I'll get and like, no, you don't have to.
- 6:31Speaker 2: You don't have to settle for anyone. So that's that's like,
- 6:35Speaker 2: I think that's great. Bye.
- 6:37Speaker 3: I want to live in the light.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I have a sweet little girl you know.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And I which is so funny because on other podcasts,
- 6:43Speaker 1: I'm like, if she decides to be a stripper, I'll
- 6:45Speaker 1: be her highest paying customer.
- 6:48Speaker 2: But that's different. That's supporting your child.
- 6:52Speaker 1: That's not I just want her to always feel loved
- 6:55Speaker 1: and safe, and I want to create an environment for
- 6:57Speaker 1: her that's just like so light and breezy.
- 7:01Speaker 2: And yeah, you know, she may be a dancer. I'm
- 7:04Speaker 2: not saying a stripper, but I mean she loves tod
- 7:07Speaker 2: she loves dancing, she gets down.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Yes, So whoever is going, whoever is going to be
- 7:13Speaker 1: a man who comes into my life, who has the
- 7:16Speaker 1: luxury of meeting my daughter one day, is not going
- 7:19Speaker 1: to be going to strip clubs. And they're certainly not
- 7:21Speaker 1: going to be sending dick picks to people. Okay, yep, Like, yeah,
- 7:26Speaker 1: I don't need my I don't need that and my
- 7:29Speaker 1: daughter doesn't need to be around that type of yeah
- 7:32Speaker 1: at all.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yes, goodbye, good bye, goodbye. Nobody needs a dick pic.
- 7:38Speaker 3: So that's what I that's what I was doing.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I was laying in bed, nursing, nursing my my wounds,
- 7:46Speaker 1: getting dick picks, and hearing people go to strip clubs
- 7:49Speaker 1: and I, you know, have come out of my my
- 7:53Speaker 1: surgery coma m because I tend when I have any
- 7:57Speaker 1: type of surgery or I'm sick.
- 7:58Speaker 4: I'm like, you're supposed to be like I fucking nurse it, right, Yeah,
- 8:07Speaker 4: that's how I mean, that's how I am with a cold.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, to Kyle, like you think your fake coughing
- 8:13Speaker 2: and like, no, no.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Last night, Lisa fucking wanted to clean out the fridge
- 8:22Speaker 1: and I was like, I can't lift anything. I'm not helping,
- 8:25Speaker 1: and she like looked at me like do you ever
- 8:27Speaker 1: help me do anything? But then she dropped glass onto
- 8:31Speaker 1: the ground and it shattered, and I was like, motherfuck,
- 8:34Speaker 1: why did you have to do this tonight? Now there's
- 8:36Speaker 1: shards of glass everywhere.
- 8:39Speaker 3: It was late, and.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I told her, I reiterated, I'm not helping. I'm wounded.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I'm not helping you. Yeah, and she then again she.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Said to me, you never help, even when you're not wounded,
- 8:54Speaker 1: you don't help.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I'm not shocked by you not helping me, right.
- 8:58Speaker 2: But number one, Laala was told she can't lift anything,
- 9:02Speaker 2: you guys, So it's not like she's just like I'm
- 9:04Speaker 2: not lifting anything.
- 9:05Speaker 1: But I'm not helping. But even my friends know. Yeah,
- 9:08Speaker 1: even my friends know. When we filmed vander Pump Rules
- 9:10Speaker 1: and they're like, everyone has a part in doing this.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I say, I'm not helping. Tell me how much I
- 9:16Speaker 1: can pay. I'll write shea check, I'll do some venmo,
- 9:20Speaker 1: I'll have something wired. I am not helping.
- 9:25Speaker 3: I don't like it.
- 9:26Speaker 2: And You've lived a long enough life to decide that
- 9:30Speaker 2: for your life.
- 9:31Speaker 3: And I'm glad.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I think that's great you have that freedom. I'm not helping.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I'm not lifting a finger.
- 9:36Speaker 5: No.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Also, Lisa is so active. If you were to help her,
- 9:39Speaker 2: you would be moving around twenty four to seven.
- 9:41Speaker 3: You guys like the most. It makes me tired.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I come into the office every weekend and it's been
- 9:46Speaker 2: like cleaned and organized. I should be doing that, but
- 9:48Speaker 2: like Lisa doesn't.
- 9:49Speaker 3: She cleans for the housekeeper.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yeah, she's just like constantly organizing, cleaning, putting stuff away.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I mean it's amazing, it is amazing, but a five
- 10:00Speaker 1: star bitch. Yeah, every single night, I'm like, you're the
- 10:03Speaker 1: best mom ever. She really is best mom and jeech.
- 10:05Speaker 1: But you know what, I once I get older into
- 10:08Speaker 1: that zone and like ocean is then my age or whatever,
- 10:13Speaker 1: I think I would help her out. It's like I'll
- 10:16Speaker 1: clean your house for you, like you just like tap
- 10:17Speaker 1: into that zone. But then again, who knows. Yeah, I'm
- 10:22Speaker 1: thirty one and I'm still like, I'm not fucking helping.
- 10:25Speaker 3: I refuse.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 3: So that is my.
- 10:29Speaker 1: You know, recovery story and dick pic stories and all
- 10:33Speaker 1: the people that I'm cutting out of my life due
- 10:35Speaker 1: to stupid things that they do. But how funny that
- 10:38Speaker 1: today we have Jamie Lynn, who is friends with Sheena.
- 10:42Speaker 3: She used to be the co host on her podcast.
- 10:44Speaker 3: She's a vegan. We're just giving up meat in all aspects.
- 10:50Speaker 1: We don't want your fucking sausage pictures, no dick pics.
- 10:55Speaker 3: We're just giving up meat in every aspect of the word.
- 10:59Speaker 2: No meat twenty two.
- 11:01Speaker 3: No, that the mantra.
- 11:04Speaker 2: That's the mantra, no meat twenty.
- 11:13Speaker 3: No praise. Oh the dick pigs got me discombobulated.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Okay, Well with that being said, I thought it was.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Like it was a record that I scratch on it.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Do you remember those CDs? And if it was scratched?
- 11:32Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 11:33Speaker 3: All right, anyway, when we come.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Back, we have Jamie Lynn, the vegan. We are back
- 11:48Speaker 1: with a woman that you guys went insane over because
- 11:51Speaker 1: I asked, who should I get on the podcast? It's
- 11:55Speaker 1: a vegan, and you guys all were screaming at me,
- 11:57Speaker 1: Jamie Lynn get her on?
- 11:59Speaker 3: Well I have her, Hi, babe, Hi.
- 12:02Speaker 5: I'm honored. I'm absolutely honored.
- 12:04Speaker 1: No, every single person was like, you have to have her.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I'm not kidding.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Seriously, Yes, it shocked.
- 12:11Speaker 3: I was like, I know her, yes, done.
- 12:15Speaker 1: So I was reading over obviously, I know you, I
- 12:18Speaker 1: know you through Shena, I know that you're a vegan,
- 12:20Speaker 1: I know you're a single mama. But I was reading
- 12:23Speaker 1: over your bio and before we dive into you know,
- 12:28Speaker 1: being a vegan and all of those things, I really
- 12:31Speaker 1: have to say you and I have had our little
- 12:34Speaker 1: bumps in the road.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Right now, we always come back from it. We're resilient.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I am so impressed and I learned so much about
- 12:44Speaker 1: you reading this bio and I'm like, honest to god,
- 12:49Speaker 1: I'm shocked and you should be extremely proud.
- 12:53Speaker 5: Thank you so much. That is so kind and I
- 12:57Speaker 5: kind of want to return that back to you because,
- 13:00Speaker 5: as you mentioned, we have had our little bumps in
- 13:03Speaker 5: the road, but through that process I kind of knew
- 13:08Speaker 5: about you along the way, and I know that you
- 13:10Speaker 5: and I have a lot in common. People lost their
- 13:13Speaker 5: dads and now we're single moms. And even at the
- 13:15Speaker 5: time in which you became a single mom, I believe
- 13:19Speaker 5: Ocean was around seven months old, which is exactly the
- 13:21Speaker 5: time I became a single mom. So when I heard
- 13:25Speaker 5: this happening to you, I was like, Fuck all that
- 13:28Speaker 5: stupid drama that has happened in the past, I need
- 13:31Speaker 5: to reach out to you, because although friends are amazing
- 13:35Speaker 5: and supportive, unless someone has actually been through what you're
- 13:39Speaker 5: going through, they don't really know how it feels. They
- 13:42Speaker 5: don't know what to say, they don't know how to be.
- 13:45Speaker 5: And I'm sure your friends were amazingly supportive, but I
- 13:48Speaker 5: just wanted to let you know there's someone out there
- 13:50Speaker 5: who you know that has been through it a similar situation,
- 13:54Speaker 5: and I just wanted to give you recognition and support.
- 13:58Speaker 5: And watching you grow from then to now and being
- 14:01Speaker 5: at your Irvine show, I had tears in my eyes
- 14:05Speaker 5: because I'm just so proud of you and where you
- 14:08Speaker 5: have come and how you have grown, and you are
- 14:11Speaker 5: such an inspiration to everybody, and I'm going to cry
- 14:14Speaker 5: now I'm so emo. I'm sorry.
- 14:16Speaker 1: No, I'm emo too, And I'm glad you're a crier
- 14:19Speaker 1: because I am the biggest crier. So you're in fantastic company.
- 14:24Speaker 1: And don't worry, we will be shedding tears. But yeah,
- 14:28Speaker 1: it was I read that you became a single mom
- 14:30Speaker 1: when your daughter was seven months and that was literally
- 14:34Speaker 1: exactly when it happened to me. And I don't think
- 14:37Speaker 1: you realize how much it meant to me when you
- 14:39Speaker 1: reached out to me, because like you said, there there
- 14:42Speaker 1: are many people who can be support systems, but when
- 14:46Speaker 1: you find someone who who gets it and who's been
- 14:49Speaker 1: through it and like knows that, it's like it's intense.
- 14:55Speaker 1: That really meant a lot to me. So thank you
- 14:57Speaker 1: very much.
- 14:57Speaker 5: You're very very welcome. And if you were here, I would.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Hug you right now.
- 15:01Speaker 5: I want to get you.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I would I would take you up on that. First.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I want to start with you becoming a vegetarian at
- 15:09Speaker 1: such a young age while you were watching Charlotte's Web Like,
- 15:13Speaker 1: I want to know what that was like for you,
- 15:16Speaker 1: because at the age of six, I mean, kids are
- 15:18Speaker 1: worried about playing with barbies. They're certainly not thinking about,
- 15:22Speaker 1: you know, eating or not eating animals. So please tell
- 15:26Speaker 1: me this conversation you had with your dad.
- 15:28Speaker 5: Absolutely it was I mean, looking back now, who would
- 15:31Speaker 5: have thought that that night would have been so faithful
- 15:34Speaker 5: and I would actually be here with you speaking about
- 15:36Speaker 5: it right now. But I had just finished watching well
- 15:40Speaker 5: Charlotte's Web, and I fell in love with Wilburt the pig,
- 15:44Speaker 5: and it just so happened that that night my dad
- 15:48Speaker 5: was making ham and I connected the dots. At that age,
- 15:53Speaker 5: it finally like it was a light bulb moment. I
- 15:55Speaker 5: was like, wait a minute, that pig that is being
- 15:58Speaker 5: cooked for my dinner was Wilbur. And I just left Wilbur.
- 16:02Speaker 5: And obviously cartoons humanize animals, you know, and we fall
- 16:06Speaker 5: in love with them. And I fell in love with Wilbur,
- 16:09Speaker 5: and I was like, I don't want to eat Wilbur.
- 16:11Speaker 5: And I said to my dad. I was like, that's Wilbur.
- 16:14Speaker 5: We can't eat him. And my dad just very you know,
- 16:18Speaker 5: kind of like almost sarcastically, said to me, He's like, well,
- 16:21Speaker 5: then become a vegetarian. Don't be a hypocrite. And it
- 16:25Speaker 5: was funny because at age six, I knew what the
- 16:27Speaker 5: word hypocrite meant. But I didn't know what a vegetarian was,
- 16:31Speaker 5: so I said, well, what's a vegetarian and he says,
- 16:34Speaker 5: it means you don't eat me and I said, okay,
- 16:36Speaker 5: I'll do that and he laughed and he's like, you
- 16:39Speaker 5: can't do that, and I was like, yeah, I can.
- 16:42Speaker 5: And ironically, although he was the one that said I
- 16:45Speaker 5: couldn't do it, had it not been for him, I
- 16:49Speaker 5: wouldn't have been able to do it. Because from that
- 16:51Speaker 5: moment on, my family was so supportive and he made
- 16:56Speaker 5: a separate dinner every single night for me that was vegetarian.
- 17:00Speaker 5: And any other six year old who did not have
- 17:03Speaker 5: a supportive family like that, they would just be out
- 17:05Speaker 5: of luck. They'd be like, this is what you're eating
- 17:07Speaker 5: tonight and shut up and eat it. But he went
- 17:10Speaker 5: out of his way every single night to make me
- 17:13Speaker 5: something vegetarian.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Wow, your dad is a special, special man.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I feel like had I been in that zone of
- 17:20Speaker 1: wanting to be a vegetarian at the age of six,
- 17:22Speaker 1: I think my dad would have done the same thing.
- 17:26Speaker 3: So we're really lucky that.
- 17:28Speaker 1: That is so sweet, and like, did he because when
- 17:31Speaker 1: you think about being a vegetarian I think so many
- 17:35Speaker 1: people are like, well, then where am I going to
- 17:37Speaker 1: get my protein from?
- 17:39Speaker 3: Or what's the replacement? Like did he know? Did he
- 17:43Speaker 3: do research?
- 17:44Speaker 1: You?
- 17:44Speaker 3: Did you know? I mean what was what were you eating?
- 17:47Speaker 5: It was funny because I mean, this is North Jersey,
- 17:49Speaker 5: I'm in an Italian family. Oh shitting, you know, it's hard.
- 17:54Speaker 5: I wasn't in Los Angeles, you know. And I obviously
- 17:58Speaker 5: there's the only one in my school who is a vegetarian.
- 18:00Speaker 5: And it was kind of new for everyone in my school,
- 18:04Speaker 5: for anyone in my family, in my friend group. And
- 18:07Speaker 5: I remember my parents taking me to my family doctor
- 18:11Speaker 5: to talk about nutrition, which is kind of silly looking
- 18:14Speaker 5: back on it, because doctors don't really know much about nutrition.
- 18:18Speaker 5: So fortunately, though, my family doctor handed us two books
- 18:22Speaker 5: and he was very supportive. He's like, you need to
- 18:24Speaker 5: read these so you can understand how your nutrition is
- 18:26Speaker 5: going to work. So I remember, at that age reading
- 18:28Speaker 5: these two books on vegetarianism and not eating meat, and
- 18:33Speaker 5: I think my parents did the best that they could.
- 18:37Speaker 5: You know, I've heard other situations where family is just
- 18:40Speaker 5: so not supportive and they'll make kids feel bad. And
- 18:44Speaker 5: there's a whole other aspect of that too, where it's
- 18:46Speaker 5: like parents think that they're raising their children to be
- 18:50Speaker 5: the best people possible and give them the best morals possible.
- 18:54Speaker 5: So when a child says, hey, what you've been feeding
- 18:57Speaker 5: me goes against my morals, that could kind of be
- 19:00Speaker 5: an insult to them in a way like you have
- 19:03Speaker 5: not like kind of like straying from what your parents
- 19:07Speaker 5: ingrained in you. And a lot of parents might take
- 19:09Speaker 5: that as an insult. But fortunately, my parents, like I said,
- 19:13Speaker 5: were so supportive.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I would never think of it that way. I would
- 19:16Speaker 1: know you're you're absolutely right. I'm sure that that because
- 19:19Speaker 1: it is a moral thing.
- 19:21Speaker 5: Yeah, for me, it was, and for a lot of course, yeah.
- 19:24Speaker 3: All because of Wilbur.
- 19:25Speaker 5: Because I want to get like a Wilbur tattoo somewhere.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Or like Charlotte and Wilber, I feel like you have to.
- 19:32Speaker 5: I think I need to.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Yeah, So you're full, You're full vegan, You're like of
- 19:37Speaker 3: I am.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Now how old were you when you decided that that
- 19:41Speaker 1: was what was going to start happening?
- 19:42Speaker 5: I wish I knew the date, and I wish I
- 19:44Speaker 5: wrote it down. And it's so funny because I can
- 19:47Speaker 5: kind of tell time by Sheena's boyfriends, and it was asked,
- 19:51Speaker 5: Sina when I became a vegan, But it was at
- 19:54Speaker 5: the time that her and Adam had their last discussion
- 19:58Speaker 5: on a rooftop where Adam lived and I met her
- 20:01Speaker 5: was at Hugos down in Santa Monica Boulevard and we
- 20:04Speaker 5: had lunch right after, and she was telling me how
- 20:07Speaker 5: the conversation went, and I remember ordering my salad and
- 20:11Speaker 5: it came with like this avocado ranch dressing, and I
- 20:13Speaker 5: remember I said to the lady, I'm like, oh wait,
- 20:16Speaker 5: I can't have that. I'm vegan now, and she, you know,
- 20:19Speaker 5: like cracked it up. She's like, that's such an overheard
- 20:21Speaker 5: la thing to say, Oh wait, I forgot I'm vegan
- 20:24Speaker 5: right right around that time, whenever the atom era was
- 20:27Speaker 5: is when I became a vegan.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Oh my god. I love that you gauge things based.
- 20:31Speaker 3: So she is boyfriends. That is amazing.
- 20:35Speaker 1: When people talk about being a vegan, because it sounds
- 20:40Speaker 1: amazing like Beyonce has done it. Like it's like, Okay,
- 20:44Speaker 1: if Beyonce can do it and still look fabulous and
- 20:47Speaker 1: she's not withering away and she still has all the
- 20:49Speaker 1: energy in the world, then we all can do it right,
- 20:52Speaker 1: but I feel like being a vegan.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Can get expensive.
- 20:56Speaker 1: What do you recommend when somebody says, like, I want
- 20:59Speaker 1: to be a vegan, but I don't know how to
- 21:00Speaker 1: go about it. How do we ease ourselves into it?
- 21:03Speaker 5: That's a really good question, because we can sit here
- 21:06Speaker 5: and talk about the whys all day, but until we
- 21:08Speaker 5: start talking about the how, it's not practical, you.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Know, right.
- 21:13Speaker 5: Admittedly, prior to the atom era of me becoming vegan
- 21:17Speaker 5: and sticking with it for life, I had dabbled in
- 21:20Speaker 5: it years before when I was pregnant with Ivy. In fact,
- 21:23Speaker 5: I was vegan for the first four months and then quit.
- 21:27Speaker 5: So it doesn't mean we're perfect. It doesn't mean any
- 21:31Speaker 5: you know, vegans don't think we're perfect. And it's all
- 21:34Speaker 5: about trying, at least I believe. It's not about being militant.
- 21:39Speaker 5: It's about making changes that you can stick with. And
- 21:43Speaker 5: it doesn't mean you have to go cold turkey, forgive
- 21:46Speaker 5: the pun, but you know, just swapping out dairy butter
- 21:52Speaker 5: for like smart balance or like earth balance, which is
- 21:55Speaker 5: okay and you can't even tell the difference, you know,
- 21:58Speaker 5: or like swapping out your meal milk for almond milk
- 22:01Speaker 5: or oat milk or soy milk, or when you're at
- 22:03Speaker 5: Starbucks ordering an oat milk latte instead of a whole
- 22:07Speaker 5: milk latte, and it's making these little changes over time.
- 22:11Speaker 5: As far as the expense, You're absolutely right. You know,
- 22:15Speaker 5: people have lumped veganism these days into this wellness and
- 22:19Speaker 5: this aspirational like someone shopping at arrow On or Whole Foods,
- 22:22Speaker 5: and it's like, yes, if you go that route, there
- 22:25Speaker 5: are very expensive vegan items because people are taking advantage
- 22:30Speaker 5: of that right now. However, if you look at Whole Foods,
- 22:34Speaker 5: most of the foods in the world are vegan. There's
- 22:37Speaker 5: what three four animals that we eat right aything else
- 22:40Speaker 5: is vegan. And it's so funny when someone's like, oh,
- 22:42Speaker 5: I've never had vegan food. I'm like, you never had
- 22:43Speaker 5: a French fry, you never had an apple? Like most
- 22:46Speaker 5: of the food is vegan. So just kind of breaking down.
- 22:51Speaker 5: I guess this stereotype or this stigma that it's expensive,
- 22:55Speaker 5: it can be, but it doesn't have to be.
- 22:57Speaker 1: I love that what you just said about most of
- 23:00Speaker 1: the things that I eat are completely vegan. So it's
- 23:07Speaker 1: about coming up with the replacements. Like, I love my
- 23:10Speaker 1: almond milk. That's my replacement for dairy. And I didn't
- 23:13Speaker 1: even realize it. I just like almond milk better.
- 23:15Speaker 5: There you go.
- 23:19Speaker 1: So if someone were to, like go to a restaurant
- 23:22Speaker 1: and they on the menu, see like salmon, right, they
- 23:26Speaker 1: want salmon, it has like the vegetables, it has like
- 23:29Speaker 1: your carb or whatever, what in that moment would you
- 23:34Speaker 1: say to replace the salmon with I mean, it depends.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Where you're eating and what the options are. Fortunately you
- 23:41Speaker 5: and I live in LA and the options are limitless.
- 23:44Speaker 5: I feel like it's totally and we are very fortunate.
- 23:48Speaker 5: Someone in the middle of the country or down south,
- 23:50Speaker 5: I've had such trouble traveling. It's harder to seek it out.
- 23:55Speaker 5: And I think we need to acknowledge that. And it's
- 23:57Speaker 5: not an easy thing being vegan. Is it's easy for
- 24:01Speaker 5: me because I live in southern California, you know, and
- 24:04Speaker 5: I have access to all of these places where I
- 24:07Speaker 5: can buy all of my food and all of these
- 24:09Speaker 5: restaurants that serve vegan alternatives. But it's hard for me
- 24:13Speaker 5: to answer that question because I don't know what alternatives
- 24:16Speaker 5: will ask that particular restaurant.
- 24:18Speaker 1: You're right, we are lucky that we live in southern
- 24:20Speaker 1: California and everyone and their dog is a vegan. Like literally,
- 24:23Speaker 1: I've met vegan dogs, so true, real thing, what could
- 24:28Speaker 1: we have to replace something like a steak or salmon
- 24:33Speaker 1: or a cheeseburger?
- 24:34Speaker 3: Like what?
- 24:35Speaker 1: Just like, obviously there are some people that are like,
- 24:37Speaker 1: I'm craving a cheeseburger, But there's obviously something. There's a
- 24:41Speaker 1: reason why you're craving it. I believe you know. It's
- 24:44Speaker 1: just like when I my body knows like I want water,
- 24:47Speaker 1: Like my body needs water at that moment. So when
- 24:51Speaker 1: I think about certain cravings, it's like your body is
- 24:54Speaker 1: needing protein, Like what what would you like, what is
- 24:57Speaker 1: the protein you get that maybe meat would also give
- 25:01Speaker 1: you but your vegan.
- 25:02Speaker 5: Well, let's take it a step back and discuss protein
- 25:06Speaker 5: for a second. So it's a big myth that we
- 25:09Speaker 5: need to get our protein from animals, because where are
- 25:12Speaker 5: those animals getting the protein from. They're eating it, and
- 25:15Speaker 5: they're eating plants, and the animal is actually the middleman.
- 25:19Speaker 5: So it's a very dirty way of getting that same
- 25:22Speaker 5: protein that you can go direct to the source. There's
- 25:24Speaker 5: protein and vegetables, there's protein in peas, beans, everything, so
- 25:31Speaker 5: we don't we definitely don't need to get our protein
- 25:34Speaker 5: from animals, and that's just been this myth that's perpetuated
- 25:37Speaker 5: by the meat industry, dairy industry, all of that. So
- 25:42Speaker 5: once we are aware of that and that we don't
- 25:45Speaker 5: need as even we don't even need as much protein
- 25:47Speaker 5: as we're being told that we need. But I go
- 25:50Speaker 5: straight to the source for my protein, so I'll have
- 25:53Speaker 5: plant protein. So in the morning, I'll have a smoothie
- 25:56Speaker 5: with plant protein instead of weigh protein, which is horrible
- 26:00Speaker 5: for you.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Really, way protein is horrible for you.
- 26:03Speaker 5: Oh yes, So you're talking about cravings, and you know
- 26:06Speaker 5: one of the reasons why we may crave sea cheese.
- 26:09Speaker 5: People are like, oh, I can't give up my cheese.
- 26:12Speaker 5: So if we want to get into the dairy industry,
- 26:15Speaker 5: which is just probably the most torturous out of all
- 26:18Speaker 5: of them, which I was very ignorant too because I
- 26:22Speaker 5: was a vegetarian and I thought I was reducing harm,
- 26:25Speaker 5: which I was, but not to the fullest extent. And
- 26:28Speaker 5: when I learned what happened in the dairy industry, it's
- 26:32Speaker 5: as a mom even it's just so heartbreaking because these cows,
- 26:38Speaker 5: they're slaves. They are forcibly impregnated. Cows have to carry
- 26:43Speaker 5: a baby for nine months. Cows is don't produce milk.
- 26:46Speaker 5: They produce milk because they were raped and they were impregnated. Okay,
- 26:51Speaker 5: so now they're pregnant for nine months with this baby.
- 26:54Speaker 5: The moment they have their baby, it's stripped away from them.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Cows cry. Cows you can hear them like pining out
- 27:00Speaker 5: in pain for their baby. I've seen videos of cow's
- 27:03Speaker 5: mother cows chasing after their newborn baby who's being wheeled
- 27:06Speaker 5: away in a wheelbarrow. And what's going to happen to
- 27:09Speaker 5: that baby is if it's a male, it's shot in
- 27:12Speaker 5: the head like the first moments it can walk. And
- 27:15Speaker 5: if it's female, she's put into that same slavery system
- 27:19Speaker 5: that the mother was. And then ultimately those dairy cows
- 27:22Speaker 5: are killed when their milk production goes down, they're killed.
- 27:26Speaker 5: So that life is so sad to me. And then
- 27:30Speaker 5: on top of it, the reason why we're so addicted
- 27:33Speaker 5: to cheese is because the milk that we're stealing that's
- 27:37Speaker 5: intended for her baby, there is cassiine in it, which
- 27:41Speaker 5: is an addictive substance to make the calf drink it.
- 27:45Speaker 5: It's to help that calf get nourishment and want to
- 27:49Speaker 5: keep drinking from its mother. So now that is so
- 27:52Speaker 5: concentrated when it's turned, when that milk is turned into
- 27:55Speaker 5: its cheese form, that we as humans are literally becoming
- 27:59Speaker 5: addicted to it in the way that was meant for
- 28:01Speaker 5: the cals.
- 28:02Speaker 1: I'm beyond shocked right now. And how I did not
- 28:05Speaker 1: know that that process was that torturous. I knew that
- 28:10Speaker 1: I knew that cows were like very maternal and into
- 28:14Speaker 1: their babies, and you see when they're a cow is
- 28:17Speaker 1: released back into their like little farm setting there like
- 28:20Speaker 1: jumping around.
- 28:22Speaker 3: WHOA.
- 28:22Speaker 5: I often get into Instagram wars with people, and I
- 28:26Speaker 5: try not to.
- 28:26Speaker 1: No, I love when I love when you get into them.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I love it. I love it. It reminds me of me
- 28:31Speaker 1: when I talk to people about SeaWorld, because I turned
- 28:34Speaker 1: into a megatrol with SeaWorld.
- 28:36Speaker 5: Very similar And thank you for the work that you
- 28:39Speaker 5: and the attention that you have brought to all of that.
- 28:42Speaker 5: But yeah, I recently got into a fight with someone
- 28:45Speaker 5: about it because I was saying, these animals are slaves,
- 28:47Speaker 5: like the entitlement of us humans to think that animals
- 28:50Speaker 5: are put here for our entertainment or for us to
- 28:53Speaker 5: consume when we don't need to, when we have other choices.
- 28:56Speaker 5: And I said, you know, these animals are slaves, and
- 29:00Speaker 5: someone got so mad at me for comparing it to slavery.
- 29:03Speaker 5: But then that brings up a whole other subject of speciesism. Okay,
- 29:08Speaker 5: so it's like, it's okay for us to do this
- 29:12Speaker 5: to a cow, but what if I put you in
- 29:14Speaker 5: there and I impregnated you and stole your baby and
- 29:17Speaker 5: stole your milk. That is so illegal, that is so atrocious.
- 29:22Speaker 5: But it's because we think we're so much better than
- 29:24Speaker 5: these animals, or we're worth so much more than they are,
- 29:28Speaker 5: just because we're human. But why, why, why is my
- 29:31Speaker 5: life worth more than that cow or that baby calf
- 29:34Speaker 5: that's getting shot in the head. And then you could
- 29:36Speaker 5: take species and speciesism even further and look at your dog.
- 29:40Speaker 5: Would you want those things happening to your dog? It
- 29:42Speaker 5: would break your heart absolutely different.
- 29:45Speaker 1: And there are things that we eat in the United
- 29:47Speaker 1: States that you know, those are like treasured animals that
- 29:52Speaker 1: they would never in their life, you know, be eating
- 29:55Speaker 1: a cow. So no, you're you're making all this sense
- 29:59Speaker 1: of the world that I'm totally on your same page especially,
- 30:01Speaker 1: and I think when you can can bring someone's dog
- 30:04Speaker 1: into it, because it's ultimately the same thing we're talking
- 30:07Speaker 1: about animals, right, it becomes a topic that is relatable
- 30:13Speaker 1: for more people.
- 30:13Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a whole brainwashing. There's a cognitive dissonance happening
- 30:17Speaker 5: where we can look at our dogs and think that
- 30:20Speaker 5: they're the best thing ever, and we love them so much,
- 30:22Speaker 5: and we can recognize that they all have separate personalities.
- 30:25Speaker 5: If you've had more than one dog in your life,
- 30:27Speaker 5: you know, they all have different personalities. They like certain things,
- 30:31Speaker 5: they dislike certain things, and we can understand that for
- 30:35Speaker 5: these dogs or these cats. But guess what, this pig
- 30:38Speaker 5: is smarter than your dog. It's the smartest a three
- 30:40Speaker 5: year old's human. Imagine doing this to a three year
- 30:43Speaker 5: old baby. The things that we do to these pigs.
- 30:45Speaker 5: That's how much they can comprehend what's happening to them.
- 30:48Speaker 5: And yet, you know, we give all of this worth
- 30:51Speaker 5: to these dogs and cats. But because we have this
- 30:54Speaker 5: cognitive dissonance to the farm animals, we think it's okay
- 30:58Speaker 5: to do that to them, and it's nobody's fault that
- 31:00Speaker 5: thinks this. You know, if this isn't a situation where
- 31:03Speaker 5: I'm judging people, I just want to educate. Like you
- 31:05Speaker 5: just said, you had no idea that that happens in
- 31:07Speaker 5: the dairy industry. Do you know what happens in the
- 31:09Speaker 5: egg industry? Do you know what happens to the mail chicks?
- 31:12Speaker 1: No?
- 31:13Speaker 3: Can you tell us?
- 31:13Speaker 5: Well, in the egg industry, when the baby chicks are born,
- 31:19Speaker 5: if they're male, they are put on a conveyor belt
- 31:23Speaker 5: and thrown into a wood schipper their first day of
- 31:26Speaker 5: first moments of being alive, they are crushed in a
- 31:29Speaker 5: wood schipper, or they're put in a plastic bag, put
- 31:32Speaker 5: in the trash to suffocate, as if they have zero worth.
- 31:36Speaker 5: And that is the expense of eating an egg. It's
- 31:40Speaker 5: like I always you know, envision like think of a blender.
- 31:45Speaker 5: Anytime you want to eat an egg, think of it
- 31:46Speaker 5: a blender. Would you throw a male baby chicken there?
- 31:49Speaker 3: No turn it on to eat ever?
- 31:51Speaker 5: Never, that's what's happening. That's what we're paying people to
- 31:54Speaker 5: do for us, but we don't want to see it.
- 31:56Speaker 5: And it's like, as long as people don't know what's happening,
- 32:00Speaker 5: I can't fault them, And all I want to do
- 32:02Speaker 5: is educate on what actually is happening, and from there
- 32:05Speaker 5: you do what you want. And I will respect someone
- 32:09Speaker 5: who says, you know what. I've watched all the slaughterhouse footage.
- 32:12Speaker 5: I've seen everything that happens. I just don't think animals
- 32:16Speaker 5: are worthless. I think I'm worth more and I'm entitled
- 32:19Speaker 5: to this food. Fine, as long as you know what's happening,
- 32:22Speaker 5: that's your choice and that's your decision. But my whole
- 32:25Speaker 5: thing is I'm not going to try to change somebody's mind.
- 32:28Speaker 5: Who is that type of person. All I want to
- 32:31Speaker 5: do is just educate someone who may not know and
- 32:34Speaker 5: be like, I had no idea I'm going to change
- 32:37Speaker 5: this and that, or I had no idea. I need
- 32:40Speaker 5: to research just more for myself. That is what I
- 32:43Speaker 5: love doing.
- 32:43Speaker 1: I also want to get into you said it was
- 32:46Speaker 1: time to put your money where your mouth was, and
- 32:48Speaker 1: that's when you invested in Sugar Taco, which is a
- 32:52Speaker 1: vegan restaurant. It's in La right. Do we have them
- 32:55Speaker 1: anywhere else? I've only eaten it in La.
- 32:58Speaker 5: Yeah. We have two locations. One is in the Valley
- 33:00Speaker 5: and Sherman Oaks on Ventura Boulevard, and another one is
- 33:04Speaker 5: on Melrose, just off of Librea, and we are in
- 33:07Speaker 5: process of opening our third in Long Beach. And what
- 33:11Speaker 5: is really exciting is I am now in charge of
- 33:13Speaker 5: our food retail and I currently have a freezer stocked
- 33:17Speaker 5: with testing types of our protein so that we can
- 33:21Speaker 5: understand how to ship them. And we're going to be
- 33:23Speaker 5: shipping nationwide. So no, wow, yeah, no, matter where anyone lives,
- 33:28Speaker 5: soon they will be able to have Sugar Taco. But
- 33:30Speaker 5: we're also opening Eli's first vegan butcher deli sandwich shop,
- 33:36Speaker 5: and we will be shipping all of those vegan meats
- 33:39Speaker 5: and cheeses and macaroni and cheese and all those good
- 33:41Speaker 5: things cookies. We're going to be ship shipping those nationwide
- 33:45Speaker 5: as well.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, this is amazing. I'm thrilled to hear this.
- 33:49Speaker 1: And by the way, Sugar Taco is fantastic, Thank you.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Like we had it I think for Brock's birthday party, Yes,
- 33:57Speaker 1: and it was phenomenal. You would have ever known that
- 34:00Speaker 1: you weren't going savage on pork or whatever it was
- 34:04Speaker 1: that I was eating.
- 34:05Speaker 5: He fed it to like his Aussie friends and all
- 34:08Speaker 5: them it was vegan and they had no idea and
- 34:10Speaker 5: oh man, those turtles were so good. They're the best
- 34:12Speaker 5: Brits of had. I was like, they're vegan, They're like what?
- 34:15Speaker 3: No, No, I know.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Well, for the longest time, I didn't realize that Sugar
- 34:19Speaker 1: Taco was a vegan spot. Really yes, but I'm kind
- 34:24Speaker 1: of clue. I get I sometimes I'm very clueless. I
- 34:26Speaker 1: feel like I'm pretty on it, but there are things
- 34:28Speaker 1: where I'm like completely clueless. So you invested in Sugar Taco,
- 34:32Speaker 1: but now you're also in a relief program where you
- 34:37Speaker 1: are giving food to this one like really hit me
- 34:42Speaker 1: when you were taking on women and children of tomestic violence.
- 34:47Speaker 5: Yeah. No, every time I go there, I I cry. Yeah.
- 34:51Speaker 5: So the first thing I did when I joined Sugar Taco,
- 34:56Speaker 5: I said, we you know, they already they were already amazed,
- 34:58Speaker 5: and they had charity components already. Our Children's menu, we
- 35:02Speaker 5: are every time you purchase something off of Children's menu
- 35:04Speaker 5: that we give a meal to a child in need.
- 35:06Speaker 5: Every time you purchase a doggy taco, that all of
- 35:09Speaker 5: that goes to a different animal charity per month. So
- 35:13Speaker 5: that was there. They already had their charity components that
- 35:15Speaker 5: I loved and what attracted me to the company, but
- 35:18Speaker 5: I said, I want to do another one. And I
- 35:21Speaker 5: have been really, really passionate about the homeless problem in
- 35:26Speaker 5: Los Angeles and also specifically helping women and children. So
- 35:32Speaker 5: when I found this shelter in LA it's called Good Shepherd.
- 35:36Speaker 5: They house women and children who are impacted by domestic
- 35:39Speaker 5: violence who had to leave and they needed a place
- 35:42Speaker 5: to stay. And the first time I went there, I
- 35:45Speaker 5: started crying because there's this I'll send you the picture,
- 35:49Speaker 5: but there's this huge wall with hand prints from all
- 35:53Speaker 5: the children that live there now. And because I couldn't
- 35:58Speaker 5: go in to see the kids, it was and COVID,
- 36:00Speaker 5: but just seeing the hamprints and knowing that they're safe now.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Sorry, no, it's fine.
- 36:09Speaker 5: It's really special to be able to give back to
- 36:12Speaker 5: them and those strong women that left the situations that
- 36:15Speaker 5: they were in. So yeah. So our food program is
- 36:19Speaker 5: that we collect donations and then Sugar Taco or I
- 36:24Speaker 5: personally will match it and double it and will bring
- 36:26Speaker 5: the vegan food to these shelters. And I've even handed
- 36:30Speaker 5: it out to people on the streets. But I think
- 36:32Speaker 5: the most I think the most help that I can
- 36:36Speaker 5: do is to give it to these shelters and these
- 36:38Speaker 5: base women and children.
- 36:39Speaker 1: You are truly a beautiful soul, Like you have a passion,
- 36:44Speaker 1: You see a problem and you do the work. And
- 36:46Speaker 1: I think so many people, I mean, I even am
- 36:49Speaker 1: guilty of this at times where you know, you know
- 36:52Speaker 1: that something's wrong, you can talk about it all day long,
- 36:56Speaker 1: you're actually doing something about it. And you know, I've
- 37:00Speaker 1: always liked you, even with our bumps in the road.
- 37:03Speaker 1: But I'm like truly in awe of you.
- 37:06Speaker 5: Thank you, and the feeling is much well.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Thank you, Jamie. I'm telling you, I read this bio,
- 37:10Speaker 1: and I've read a lot of bios. I've had a
- 37:12Speaker 1: lot of people on the podcast, but this like really
- 37:15Speaker 1: was like, oh my gosh.
- 37:17Speaker 3: You've stolen my heart.
- 37:19Speaker 1: I'm sure you've taught a lot of my listeners a
- 37:22Speaker 1: lot of things, because I've just learned a lot. I mean,
- 37:25Speaker 1: I just made a huge life change today a matter
- 37:28Speaker 1: of seconds that the whole damn family's vegan.
- 37:31Speaker 5: I do want to warn you, though, when when discussing
- 37:33Speaker 5: these things, I mean, we can find anything on the
- 37:36Speaker 5: internet to support any point of view that we want.
- 37:39Speaker 5: And you may get flooded with contradictory information as to
- 37:44Speaker 5: what I've said, and that's fine, and I just want
- 37:46Speaker 5: you to be aware of you know, this is a
- 37:49Speaker 5: very passionate issue for a lot of people, and you
- 37:53Speaker 5: know it means that they have to take some personal
- 37:55Speaker 5: responsibility and personal change and that's hard for a lot
- 37:59Speaker 5: of people. So you will get a lot of pushback.
- 38:02Speaker 5: But if you just keep the animals in mind and
- 38:06Speaker 5: that you're doing it for a greater purpose, right, even
- 38:08Speaker 5: when you're if you happen to start watching the footage
- 38:11Speaker 5: of you know, what actually happens to these animals and
- 38:13Speaker 5: the documentaries, and I'm going to suggest it's heartbreaking, you
- 38:17Speaker 5: will cry for the entire documentary. And you don't have
- 38:20Speaker 5: to keep watching it. You don't have to keep retraumatizing yourself.
- 38:24Speaker 5: But as long as you know what's happening, that's that's
- 38:26Speaker 5: good enough, and that you can take that fight to
- 38:29Speaker 5: keep fighting for the animals.
- 38:30Speaker 1: But it's not easy, no, And you know what, I'm
- 38:33Speaker 1: glad you said that, because that does happen. I mean,
- 38:36Speaker 1: even when I talk about, you know, not supporting animals
- 38:40Speaker 1: in captivity, I'm flooded with people and I just know,
- 38:44Speaker 1: like you know what you're I'm not the person for you,
- 38:47Speaker 1: right you.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Know you got the wrong audience with me.
- 38:50Speaker 1: I want to thank you so much for joining me
- 38:53Speaker 1: on the Give Them All a podcast. You were amazing
- 38:56Speaker 1: and now I know why everyone wanted you on the podcast.
- 38:59Speaker 5: Thank you so much for having me
