- 0:23Speaker 1: it is up. It is good still two seconds left

- 1:20Speaker 1: Thanksgiving and getting you ready for Sunday's action, eleven more
- 1:23Speaker 1: hours of NonStop football. Hello and welcome into NFL Now.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I'm Amarice in the NFL Network news room of course,
- 1:29Speaker 1: while all the latest on the major injuries across the NFL,
- 1:32Speaker 1: will also have much more breakdown on the incredible showdowns
- 1:36Speaker 1: we're looking at, including the Bengals and Titans rematch of
- 1:39Speaker 1: the a f C Divisional showdown last year. But we
- 1:41Speaker 1: start start with a major injury from last night where
- 1:44Speaker 1: we saw von Miller carted off in that Bill's Lions game.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Ian Rappaport Tom pellas Ero with much more on the
- 1:50Speaker 1: injury front, and Ian, let's start with you and that
- 1:52Speaker 1: von Miller. What's the latest on him. Von Miller had
- 1:56Speaker 1: his m r I today and my understanding is he
- 1:58Speaker 1: sustained a lateral meniscus tear in his knee. He did
- 2:02Speaker 1: not tear the A C L. That is good news.
- 2:05Speaker 1: If he had turned the A C L, there's no
- 2:07Speaker 1: decision to be made. He would have surgery, his season
- 2:09Speaker 1: would be over. This is far more complicated for von Miller,
- 2:12Speaker 1: which isn't a bad thing, but it's not a good
- 2:14Speaker 1: thing either. Here's where it all stands. He's gonna take
- 2:16Speaker 1: about the next seven to ten days to see how
- 2:19Speaker 1: his knee responds to treatment and rehab. If all goes well,
- 2:23Speaker 1: if he's feeling okay, and then really in some ways
- 2:25Speaker 1: does depend on his feeling in addition to whether or
- 2:29Speaker 1: not he can re injure it. But if he's feeling okay,
- 2:31Speaker 1: then down the line, closer to the playoffs, close to
- 2:34Speaker 1: the end of the season, he could theoretically play with
- 2:36Speaker 1: a brace. Wouldn't be the first time he's done it,
- 2:38Speaker 1: he'd played, he's played with a brace before. If he's
- 2:41Speaker 1: not feeling good, if it's not healing properly, then he
- 2:43Speaker 1: would need surgery, which would likely knock him out for
- 2:46Speaker 1: the season. So the Buffalo Bills and von Miller have
- 2:49Speaker 1: no mediate answer in wait and c mode for their
- 2:52Speaker 1: star pass rusher. Yeah, von Miller's injury will play a
- 2:54Speaker 1: major role in the a f C playoff race. So
- 2:57Speaker 1: well Sunday's game between the Bengals and the Titans, Tom,
- 3:00Speaker 1: We're keeping an eye on a couple of injuries there
- 3:02Speaker 1: for Cincinnati. What more can you tell us about Joe Mixon, Lamar,
- 3:07Speaker 1: Joe Mixon is out for Sunday's game against the Titans
- 3:10Speaker 1: because of the concussion that he suffered last weekend. Mixon
- 3:14Speaker 1: did not practice this entire week. So this is not
- 3:17Speaker 1: a surprise that Zach Taylor says officially he's not going
- 3:19Speaker 1: to play, but a lot of somaj A p Rhyan
- 3:22Speaker 1: in place of mixing coming up against Tennessee. Better news
- 3:25Speaker 1: on another Bengal star, Jamaar Chase, had a good week
- 3:28Speaker 1: of practice. According to Zach Taylor, He's officially going to
- 3:32Speaker 1: be listed as questionable for Sunday. Taylor indicated this could
- 3:35Speaker 1: be a game time type of decision. Chase has not
- 3:38Speaker 1: played and suffering a hip injury back in Week seven,
- 3:41Speaker 1: so whether he plays this week or not, very good
- 3:43Speaker 1: news that Jamar Chase is getting close being back on
- 3:46Speaker 1: the field for Cincinnati. Omar, Yeah, huge news for Cincinnati
- 3:49Speaker 1: win and if Jamar Chase gets into the lineup, it
- 3:52Speaker 1: would be huge news whenever Odell Beckham Jr. Gets back
- 3:55Speaker 1: into somebody's lineup. Ian, what can you tell us about
- 3:58Speaker 1: the O B J sweep stakes. We've probably never dedicated
- 4:02Speaker 1: as much airtime min Soona has not played this season
- 4:04Speaker 1: as we did this season to Odell, which is awesome.
- 4:07Speaker 1: It's a fun thing to talk about, no doubt to
- 4:09Speaker 1: be fun wherever he signs, and at least it seems
- 4:12Speaker 1: his suitors are now lining up. We've known for a
- 4:14Speaker 1: little bit more than a week now that the Giants
- 4:16Speaker 1: and Cowboys are going to visit with Odella. Would also
- 4:19Speaker 1: not be surprised if the Buffalo Bills through their hat
- 4:22Speaker 1: in the ring as well. Of course, O'Dell and von
- 4:24Speaker 1: Miller we just talked about are pretty close. They've been
- 4:27Speaker 1: talking regularly. The recruitment has been on there. Uh, from
- 4:30Speaker 1: what I'm told, the Cowboys visit expected to be December five.
- 4:34Speaker 1: That is one that we know. So it's not going
- 4:36Speaker 1: to be an immediate decision, which that means we get
- 4:39Speaker 1: to talk about Odell for more than another week, which
- 4:42Speaker 1: is all, of course, very very good news for all
- 4:44Speaker 1: of us. Do we know why it's not being held
- 4:46Speaker 1: until December five? Well, I think what teams want is
- 4:51Speaker 1: just a little more information on his knee in a
- 4:53Speaker 1: little more time. There's no rush. You know, this is
- 4:56Speaker 1: someone who's going to contribute the last couple of games
- 4:58Speaker 1: and probably into the playoffs. So more information for everyone
- 5:01Speaker 1: is better on the knee, on where teams stand on everything. Yeah,
- 5:05Speaker 1: I can't wait to track that al right. So the
- 5:07Speaker 1: Cowboys enjoying a victory Monday today, Mark Ross and Jim
- 5:11Speaker 1: Trotter back with us. Now, Mark, you heard Mike McCarthy say,
- 5:15Speaker 1: a lot of stuff to clean up. What did you
- 5:17Speaker 1: take away from the Cowboys yesterday, Well, let's start with
- 5:20Speaker 1: a positive first, Omar, and when you look at that
- 5:22Speaker 1: Cowboys team, they have all the elements to make a
- 5:25Speaker 1: Super Bowl run. They've got Doc at quarterback, They've got
- 5:28Speaker 1: playmakers on offense with Ceedee Lamb and Tony Pollard can
- 5:31Speaker 1: run the ball with Zeke, the offensive line is playing well,
- 5:35Speaker 1: We'll get Tyron Smith back. Then on the defensive side,
- 5:38Speaker 1: arguably the best defense in football, and they can swarm teams,
- 5:42Speaker 1: especially with the best player in the league possible m
- 5:45Speaker 1: VP candidate and Mica Parsons who can take over games,
- 5:49Speaker 1: let alone with the Marcus Lawrence can do. So they've
- 5:52Speaker 1: got all those elements to make a run. But as
- 5:54Speaker 1: Mike McCarthy said, we have to clean up things, particularly
- 5:58Speaker 1: the penalties. They had third team penalties yesterday leave the league,
- 6:02Speaker 1: and penalties tied with Denver this year. And the issue
- 6:05Speaker 1: with teams is the consistency things that they do consistently,
- 6:09Speaker 1: and what Dallas does consistently is get penalized. And this
- 6:12Speaker 1: goes back to last year as well, where they led
- 6:15Speaker 1: the league and even in the playoff game against San
- 6:17Speaker 1: Francisco had fourteen penalties. So this is something obviously that
- 6:21Speaker 1: the Cowboys have been stressing, the coaching staff has been
- 6:24Speaker 1: stressing to improve. But at this point this may be
- 6:28Speaker 1: just who Dallas is that they just cannot get out
- 6:31Speaker 1: of their way. You watch the game yesterday. They do
- 6:33Speaker 1: great things when they get moved back, and they still
- 6:35Speaker 1: had so much talent to overwhelm the Giants that it
- 6:39Speaker 1: didn't matter. But once it gets to the critical juncture
- 6:43Speaker 1: of the season and playoff games and they continue to
- 6:45Speaker 1: penalize theirselves, much like last year, is going to be
- 6:48Speaker 1: a quick exit out of the playoffs despite all the
- 6:51Speaker 1: talent and playmakers that they have on both sides of
- 6:53Speaker 1: the ball. Omar and we just saw what it looks
- 6:55Speaker 1: like when they do put it all together. The beat
- 6:57Speaker 1: down that they put on in Minnesota against the Vikings
- 7:00Speaker 1: last Sunday, that forty three efforts, So they can get
- 7:02Speaker 1: that consistently. Look out. Meanwhile, Jim Stephen Jones, owner, senior
- 7:06Speaker 1: vice president of the Cowboys Challenge ceedee Lamb and said
- 7:10Speaker 1: he's got to start playing like a number one receiver.
- 7:12Speaker 1: He certainly has responded this year. What else might be
- 7:15Speaker 1: motivating here him of recent note, Well, Omar, what's interesting
- 7:20Speaker 1: is that he has responded since all this talk of O.
- 7:22Speaker 1: B J coming in has happened. He's gone over a
- 7:25Speaker 1: hundred yards and two of the last three games. That's
- 7:27Speaker 1: only the second time in his career he's had over
- 7:30Speaker 1: a hundred yards receiving in two out of three games.
- 7:33Speaker 1: So from that standpoint, that's critical for Dallas to get
- 7:35Speaker 1: him going in that way. But one of the things
- 7:37Speaker 1: I take from that game yesterday was the diversification of
- 7:41Speaker 1: this offense. We see now Zeke and Tony Pollard how
- 7:44Speaker 1: they complement each other, and we saw the incorporation of
- 7:47Speaker 1: the tight ends yesterday in the passing game, and that's
- 7:50Speaker 1: critical to this Dallas offense as well, so that teams
- 7:53Speaker 1: can't load up on that running game or on Ceedee
- 7:56Speaker 1: lamb if O b J is not there. So for me,
- 7:59Speaker 1: that's something I took away from this game. When you
- 8:01Speaker 1: see them getting more players involved offensively, and as Mark said,
- 8:05Speaker 1: you get Tyrn Smith back, this offense has a chance
- 8:08Speaker 1: to go to another level. So that's what I took
- 8:10Speaker 1: from yesterday's game was just to see more guys involved,
- 8:13Speaker 1: more playmakers involved, which should make dallas Is offense more
- 8:17Speaker 1: dangerous as we go forward, and when Dak Prescott returned.
- 8:20Speaker 1: The Cowboys are leading the league in scoring since that
- 8:23Speaker 1: week seven efforts, so certainly an explosive offense that could
- 8:27Speaker 1: only get better here down the stretch. Mark Ross, Jim Trotter,
- 8:30Speaker 1: thank you both very much. Still to come here on
- 8:33Speaker 1: NFL now we're gonna get PFFS breakdown on the Chargers.
- 8:36Speaker 1: How realistic is a playoff run for them now that
- 8:40Speaker 1: they are on the outside looking in. That's next on
- 8:43Speaker 1: NFL now. Justin Herbert and the Chargers up twenty to
- 8:56Speaker 1: thirteen last week against the Chiefs, but couldn't hold on
- 9:00Speaker 1: and now are sitting at five and five and one
- 9:03Speaker 1: game out of the playoffs. Here's a look at the
- 9:04Speaker 1: current a f C playoff race. Of course, the Chargers
- 9:07Speaker 1: have lost two in a row, going back to the
- 9:09Speaker 1: Sunday night loss against the Forts the week before, and
- 9:12Speaker 1: there you see currently the Jets at six and four,
- 9:16Speaker 1: back into that playoff position because of the Patriots lost
- 9:20Speaker 1: last night. And there you see the Bengals and the
- 9:22Speaker 1: Dolphins there in the wild card spot because of the
- 9:25Speaker 1: Bills win yesterday. For much more on all things NFL.
- 9:29Speaker 1: We welcome in our Pro Football Focus Analysts p F
- 9:32Speaker 1: Trevor Sikama, who joins US now also co hosts a
- 9:35Speaker 1: multiple podcasts there with PFF, and we're gonna start this discussion, Trevor,
- 9:40Speaker 1: with those Chargers, despite falling out of the playoff picture
- 9:43Speaker 1: right now, despite losing two in a row, you still
- 9:46Speaker 1: think they have a chance, more than a chance at
- 9:48Speaker 1: the playoffs. How do you explain that? It's hard not
- 9:51Speaker 1: to believe in Justin Herbert when you see some of
- 9:53Speaker 1: the throws that he makes, I mean, they're alien like.
- 9:56Speaker 1: He is in a tier with some of the best
- 9:58Speaker 1: quarterbacks in the NFL, and as we know, the quarterback
- 10:00Speaker 1: position is the most important position in the game. So
- 10:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna bet on a guy like that. Looked behind
- 10:04Speaker 1: the eight ball a little bit. In our PF power
- 10:06Speaker 1: rankings and our simulations, we have them at a thirty
- 10:08Speaker 1: four percent chance to make the playoffs. That's below both
- 10:10Speaker 1: the Jets and the Patriots, so they do need a
- 10:13Speaker 1: little bit of help. But Patriots, according to our stimulations
- 10:15Speaker 1: as well, and the second toughest schedule movie forward, So
- 10:18Speaker 1: that's good news for the Chargers. Ultimately, though, Justin Herbert
- 10:21Speaker 1: has been playing so well. He's got one of the
- 10:23Speaker 1: lowest turnover worthy play rates in the NFL, despite having
- 10:25Speaker 1: the second most passing attempts. He's got the most big
- 10:29Speaker 1: time throws despite having a thirty fifth ranked average step
- 10:33Speaker 1: to targets. So this guy is still playing incredibly well.
- 10:35Speaker 1: If something lets him down. Honestly, it's gonna be that
- 10:37Speaker 1: defensive side of the ball. Over the last three years
- 10:39Speaker 1: their bottom ten in the NFL and defensive points allowed,
- 10:42Speaker 1: and over the last two years their bottom five, And
- 10:45Speaker 1: so they're not going in the right direction on the
- 10:47Speaker 1: defensive side of the ball. But if they get a
- 10:48Speaker 1: little bit held here, if they start playing a little
- 10:50Speaker 1: bit better, there, give me Justin Herbert. It's kind of
- 10:52Speaker 1: what I'm saying, it's hard to bet against the guy. Yeah,
- 10:54Speaker 1: Justin Herbert not necessarily putting up the numbers he's had
- 10:57Speaker 1: in the past, but when you consider he's spent most
- 10:59Speaker 1: of the year without Keenan Allen, a lot of time
- 11:01Speaker 1: without Mike Williams, under that context becomes more impressive. Of course,
- 11:05Speaker 1: the Chargers are at the Cardinals this weekend. As for
- 11:08Speaker 1: another a f C contender, the Baltimore Ravens. Their offense
- 11:11Speaker 1: didn't look good last week. They got the win, but
- 11:14Speaker 1: what makes you confident that this offense can get it together? Well, Honestly,
- 11:19Speaker 1: the most confidence that I have in the Ravens has
- 11:21Speaker 1: to come to the defenses side of the ball. Right
- 11:23Speaker 1: when you look at the last six seven weeks, or
- 11:25Speaker 1: especially even as of late the last three or four weeks,
- 11:27Speaker 1: they've been top ten, top five in the NFL in
- 11:30Speaker 1: terms of e p A per play allowed on defense,
- 11:32Speaker 1: which is a big time metric when it comes to lighting.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Not a lot of points come on the scoreboard for
- 11:37Speaker 1: the other team, So you have to have faith in
- 11:39Speaker 1: where the Ravens defense is going. And on the other
- 11:41Speaker 1: side of things, they're just so thin a receiver. That's
- 11:44Speaker 1: the biggest worry with what they have right now is
- 11:46Speaker 1: can they keep up with some of these better offenses
- 11:48Speaker 1: in the NFL even with the good defense. Losing Rashad
- 11:52Speaker 1: Bateman really hurt this team. They loved their the offense
- 11:55Speaker 1: to run through Mark Andrews, but it has to be
- 11:57Speaker 1: more than just him. They love to get Devin du
- 11:59Speaker 1: Burney more involved. Even the coaches and talked about that
- 12:02Speaker 1: over the last couple of weeks here, but duburne he
- 12:05Speaker 1: was making good plays as a wide receiver three? Is
- 12:07Speaker 1: he a wide receiver one type guy like they'd love
- 12:10Speaker 1: for him to be. Now with the injuries they've had
- 12:12Speaker 1: at receiving corps, I'm not so sure about that. So,
- 12:14Speaker 1: even with the fans and even the coaches clamoring for
- 12:16Speaker 1: more Devin Dubernet touches, how much return on investment are
- 12:20Speaker 1: you going to get there? Or is it just the
- 12:22Speaker 1: fact that the receiver room is so thin? You know,
- 12:24Speaker 1: it's Lamar Jackson, you know, great things can always happen
- 12:27Speaker 1: when he's the quarterback. But is the receiving corps going
- 12:29Speaker 1: to be the achilles heel for this Ravens team. We'll
- 12:32Speaker 1: have to see. And now with that Lamar Jackson hip injury,
- 12:35Speaker 1: that's something to keep an eye on for this offense.
- 12:37Speaker 1: We saw the a f C playoff picture a moment ago.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Take a look at the NFC playoff picture. Now. The
- 12:43Speaker 1: forty Niners, thanks to that Monday night win over the Cardinals,
- 12:46Speaker 1: take over the top spot in the NFC West thanks
- 12:49Speaker 1: to their earlier winning the season over the Seahawks are there.
- 12:51Speaker 1: They are number three, of course, the Vikings and the
- 12:54Speaker 1: Eagles in front of them with that nine and one,
- 12:56Speaker 1: nine and two record, and they're the Buccaneers hanging on
- 12:59Speaker 1: five and five, leaders of the NFC South. And you
- 13:02Speaker 1: see the Cowboys, Giants, and Seahawks all right there, and
- 13:05Speaker 1: there was Washington coming in, you know, the dark horse
- 13:08Speaker 1: that they are as the eighth seed. But let's go
- 13:10Speaker 1: back to the forty Niners. We saw the embarrassment of
- 13:13Speaker 1: riches they have on offense there on Monday night. So
- 13:16Speaker 1: many weapons to choose from. What's your take on San
- 13:19Speaker 1: Francisco's offense. Look, it's Thanksgiving. I got family from Philadelphia.
- 13:23Speaker 1: They're all big Eagles fans. They loved what's going on
- 13:26Speaker 1: this season. But I was telling him last night for Thanksgiving,
- 13:28Speaker 1: the biggest threat to the Eagles to me is the
- 13:31Speaker 1: San Francisco forty Niners. You look at what they can
- 13:33Speaker 1: do on both sides. The ball, of course, to Miko
- 13:35Speaker 1: Ryan's has that defense flying around, playing like one of
- 13:37Speaker 1: the best defenses in the NFL. But then he moved
- 13:40Speaker 1: over to the offensive side. Even if you want to
- 13:43Speaker 1: sit there and say, Jimmy Garoppolo, he's not a takeover guy.
- 13:46Speaker 1: He's just a game manager. Even if that's the case,
- 13:48Speaker 1: which I'm pushed back on a little bit, look at
- 13:50Speaker 1: who he's got to be a game manager to Christian McCaffrey,
- 13:53Speaker 1: Italy receiving great out of the backfield, Deevo, Samuel most
- 13:57Speaker 1: miss tackles force of any player at the receiver position
- 14:01Speaker 1: so far this season, Brandon i Us now in the
- 14:03Speaker 1: eighties grades. He is becoming one of the better route
- 14:05Speaker 1: runners in the NFL. And of course George Kittle, he
- 14:07Speaker 1: plays so well as a blocker and a receiver. You
- 14:09Speaker 1: can't cheat. You can't cheat either side because he'll beat
- 14:12Speaker 1: you anyway. And I think that that is the story
- 14:14Speaker 1: of San Francisco's offense at this point, after they acquired
- 14:16Speaker 1: Christian McCaffrey. You can't afford to lean one way or another.
- 14:21Speaker 1: You have to focus on each one of these guys
- 14:23Speaker 1: and demanding a defense to cover Deebo, Samuel Brand and I,
- 14:26Speaker 1: Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle every single play. That's tough, and
- 14:31Speaker 1: that's a tough pass. That's why the Nights are so
- 14:32Speaker 1: good and as dangerous as they've looked already, including Monday
- 14:36Speaker 1: putting up thirty eight points on the board, they've only
- 14:38Speaker 1: had a few games of experience playing together. You can
- 14:41Speaker 1: imagine what they might look like in January once they
- 14:43Speaker 1: really get a full head of steam. Trevor Sickamo, We
- 14:46Speaker 1: don't have to imagine. He's always good when he's here
- 14:49Speaker 1: on NFL and L. For much more in hip coverage,
- 14:51Speaker 1: go to PF dot com. Go to the app at
- 14:53Speaker 1: PF for much more from Trevor. Thank you very much.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers and the Packers heading to Philadelphia to take
- 15:00Speaker 1: on the nine and one Eagles. Will break that one
- 15:03Speaker 1: down next right here on NF. On that I got drums,
- 15:06Speaker 1: I got banned third time he came off the line. Hurts,
- 15:15Speaker 1: He's back, He's gonna run, he said, talks down, hearts
- 15:22Speaker 1: Hurts quarterback Rock scores at the Eagles points. Yeah, that
- 15:29Speaker 1: was a big time touchdown by Jalen Hurts to win
- 15:32Speaker 1: the game against the Colts and cap that ten point
- 15:35Speaker 1: fourth quarter comeback. For much more on the Eagles game
- 15:38Speaker 1: upcoming against the Packers, we welcome back James Palmer and
- 15:41Speaker 1: Jim Trotter, and James will start with you. Nick Sirianni
- 15:44Speaker 1: and at Eagles offense fifth in the league right now,
- 15:46Speaker 1: But where are they looking to improve. It's that spot
- 15:51Speaker 1: right there. It is the tight red zone, which is
- 15:53Speaker 1: a major focus for this team each and every week.
- 15:56Speaker 1: It is their longest meeting of the week. It happens
- 15:58Speaker 1: Wednesday night. They start preparing for it tuesdaynight, where all
- 16:01Speaker 1: the coaches are in there trying to find little added wrinkles,
- 16:05Speaker 1: little adjustments or changes to what they do in that
- 16:07Speaker 1: tight red zone at last about three or four hours
- 16:11Speaker 1: every Wednesday night. And that play in particular, was a
- 16:14Speaker 1: wrinkle that they put in that very week to play
- 16:16Speaker 1: off of some of the stuff that they have down there.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Using Jalen Hurts to run the football in the red zone,
- 16:21Speaker 1: that's where they feel like they have an added advantage
- 16:23Speaker 1: because teams have to find a way to defend them.
- 16:25Speaker 1: But at the same time they know that Jim a
- 16:27Speaker 1: lot of teams do things differently down deep in the
- 16:30Speaker 1: red zone against the Eagles because of Jalen Hurts, So
- 16:32Speaker 1: it actually adds in their preparation a sense. But they
- 16:35Speaker 1: do think this is an advantage. And that play right there,
- 16:37Speaker 1: running a draw with Boston Scott, they're running back to
- 16:40Speaker 1: his right in the backfield, something I haven't shown this year.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Fool guys like DeForrest Buckner at fool Janik and got
- 16:46Speaker 1: Way and as they keep trying to find these little wrinkles.
- 16:48Speaker 1: That's why they have the fourth best red zone offense
- 16:51Speaker 1: OMAR in the NFL. And running Jalen Hurts down there
- 16:55Speaker 1: is a major advantage. And that's why Matt Floor said
- 16:57Speaker 1: today in his meeting that he looks at Jalen Hurts
- 17:01Speaker 1: as Josh Allen carrying the football. He can either run
- 17:04Speaker 1: you over or run a round you. And it's just
- 17:06Speaker 1: a great advantage that they keep tinkering with with this
- 17:09Speaker 1: Eagles offense and certainly can run into the end zone
- 17:11Speaker 1: with those eight rushing touchdowns, can attest James Jim Rather.
- 17:15Speaker 1: On the other side of the ball, you have the
- 17:17Speaker 1: Packers coming in four and seven. Of course, in Matt
- 17:20Speaker 1: Lafour's first three season, they'd won thirteen games every single year.
- 17:25Speaker 1: They're not used to being in this position to climb
- 17:27Speaker 1: out of this big hole. How concerned are you for
- 17:30Speaker 1: them to be able to turn it around here? Well,
- 17:32Speaker 1: it's not so much if I'm concerned, Olmarks that we
- 17:35Speaker 1: should all be concerned. Look, we're gonna learn a lot
- 17:38Speaker 1: about the Packers offen or athletic character in the coming weeks.
- 17:43Speaker 1: As you say they're four and seven, they're on the
- 17:45Speaker 1: cliff of irrelevancy here. They're five games behind Minnesota in
- 17:48Speaker 1: the NFC North. There, two and a half games behind
- 17:51Speaker 1: Seattle for the final wild card spot, and even if
- 17:53Speaker 1: they went out to get to double digits, there's still
- 17:56Speaker 1: no guarantee that they're going to make the playoffs. Think
- 17:59Speaker 1: about this from our research staff, they say that since
- 18:04Speaker 1: teams that are five and seven have reached the playoffs
- 18:06Speaker 1: only ten out of a hundred and fifty one times
- 18:09Speaker 1: that same period, if you are four and eight, you
- 18:12Speaker 1: have reached the playoffs just once in a hundred and
- 18:15Speaker 1: nine times. So the answer against the Packers making a
- 18:19Speaker 1: run here. But if they are going to as slim
- 18:21Speaker 1: as they are, history says they better win this game. Yeah,
- 18:26Speaker 1: the Eagles can make the playoff chances go from slim
- 18:30Speaker 1: to none by the end of Sunday. There's a scenario.
- 18:33Speaker 1: There's actually a scenario where they could be eliminated this weekend. Yeah,
- 18:37Speaker 1: I saw that, and the Vikings could actually win the
- 18:39Speaker 1: NFC North if things break their way. So we'll be
- 18:43Speaker 1: keeping an eye on that one. For sure, Jim James,
- 18:45Speaker 1: thank you both very much. Meanwhile, New Right Now and
- 18:48Speaker 1: did the DT on Network News Room. Chase Young officially
- 18:52Speaker 1: listed as questionable with that knee injury. Of course, coming
- 18:56Speaker 1: back from the injury last year, it's been a long
- 18:59Speaker 1: road ahead for Chase Young and the Washington commanders have
- 19:03Speaker 1: been on fire of late. Of course, Taylor Heineke has
- 19:06Speaker 1: been a big part of that, and now they get
- 19:07Speaker 1: ready for the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. For more on
- 19:10Speaker 1: that matchup, we welcome back Judy Batista and Mark Ross,
- 19:14Speaker 1: and Judy will start with you. Taylor Heineke. He's been
- 19:17Speaker 1: the spark. But where else are you looking to attribute
- 19:19Speaker 1: some of that success from Washington? Well, Taylor Heineke and
- 19:23Speaker 1: the offense has an awfully nice safety net in that defense.
- 19:27Speaker 1: That Washington defense is really what is propelling them on
- 19:31Speaker 1: this winning streak that they are on. They are third
- 19:34Speaker 1: in third down defense and third in big play defense,
- 19:38Speaker 1: which means they're not giving up the big chunk plays
- 19:40Speaker 1: and they're also getting off the field. They're not allowing
- 19:43Speaker 1: those long extended drives. How are they doing it well?
- 19:46Speaker 1: Their third in quarterback pressure rate in the league and
- 19:49Speaker 1: their fourth in the league in quarterback pressure rate with
- 19:53Speaker 1: only four men, so they're not having to bring extra
- 19:56Speaker 1: rushers up there to get to the quarterback. They've got
- 19:59Speaker 1: three players who have six sacks at least six sex
- 20:03Speaker 1: and of course, as you just mentioned, Chase young Key
- 20:05Speaker 1: maybe back this week. He's questionable or could be coming
- 20:08Speaker 1: in the next few weeks. But all good news for
- 20:11Speaker 1: this defense, and that is a real security blanket for
- 20:14Speaker 1: Taylor Honecky, no question, judy with that defense what they're doing,
- 20:19Speaker 1: only giving up an average of fifteen points in those
- 20:22Speaker 1: five wins that they've had. But of course they're inspired
- 20:25Speaker 1: by the quarterback, as all teams are. We gotta give
- 20:28Speaker 1: Taylor Heinecke love where rond rivery earlier in the year,
- 20:32Speaker 1: remember where they asked what the difference between his team
- 20:34Speaker 1: was and the NFC East and he said quarterback through
- 20:36Speaker 1: Carson Wentz under the bus. But that was prophetic because look,
- 20:41Speaker 1: Taror Haneke is not setting it on fire on the
- 20:43Speaker 1: field with his stats and throwing. But again, it's the
- 20:46Speaker 1: belief that a quarterback gives a team where they're going
- 20:49Speaker 1: into the game, that defense the whole team saying this
- 20:52Speaker 1: guy is going to give it his all, make key
- 20:54Speaker 1: plays for us when he when he needs to not
- 20:57Speaker 1: beat beat, beat us and beat himself turning the ball over.
- 21:01Speaker 1: And Tara Heneke has done a good job of just
- 21:03Speaker 1: making key plays, getting it in Terry McLaren's hands and
- 21:06Speaker 1: his playmakers there and staying out of the way so
- 21:09Speaker 1: the defense can feast and make plays and win games
- 21:13Speaker 1: for the for the Commanders. And when you look at
- 21:15Speaker 1: the stretch here this next game against uh the Falcons
- 21:18Speaker 1: who run the ball, Washington six against the in the
- 21:21Speaker 1: league versus the Rush, another good matchup for them where
- 21:24Speaker 1: the defense can feast and Taylor Heineken can inspire and
- 21:27Speaker 1: lead omar. Yeah. Remarkably, they were one in four at
- 21:31Speaker 1: one point and by the end of this weekend again
- 21:33Speaker 1: at things break their where they could be in the
- 21:35Speaker 1: NFC playoff picture. It's been a remarkable turnaround to watch
- 21:39Speaker 1: Taylor Heineke and that defense certainly focal points for the
- 21:41Speaker 1: Washington Commanders. Judy Mark, thank you both very much. Meanwhile,
- 21:47Speaker 1: the Pro Bowl is returning to Las Vegas three and
- 21:51Speaker 1: they're transforming the Pro Bowl into the Pro Bowl Games,
- 21:54Speaker 1: including new skills challenges and culminating with an a f
- 21:57Speaker 1: C versus NFC flag football showdown on all new format,
- 22:01Speaker 1: but the same way for you to vote on your
- 22:03Speaker 1: favorite players and the league's best to each position. Play

- 22:13Speaker 1: Still to come here on NFL Now All my favorite
- 22:17Speaker 1: player growing up, Bo Jackson. We're celebrating an anniversary. Jim
- 22:21Speaker 1: Trotter back with us to tell you what that is
- 22:24Speaker 1: next on NFL now. Ah, this takes me back to
- 22:34Speaker 1: my childhood. My favorite player growing up, Bo Jackson is
- 22:37Speaker 1: a ninety one yard touchdown in Week twelve against the
- 22:41Speaker 1: Seahawks thirty five years ago. Of course, the Raiders and
- 22:46Speaker 1: Seahawks getting together this weekend, but November anniversary of this
- 22:52Speaker 1: historic run and performance by Bo Jackson, one of the
- 22:56Speaker 1: great players of all time. Of course, the great career
- 22:59Speaker 1: cut short with that hip injury in the playoff game
- 23:02Speaker 1: against Cincinnati in Jim Trotter wrote about that historic performance
- 23:07Speaker 1: by Bo Jackson recently. You can see that article on
- 23:10Speaker 1: NFL dot com slash Trotter and Jim. When you look
- 23:13Speaker 1: at that play, what maybe something that we might not
- 23:16Speaker 1: know about it? Here? All these years later, Oh, Mars,
- 23:19Speaker 1: not just us, it's some of the players who were
- 23:21Speaker 1: actually on the field. And that's that that play was
- 23:23Speaker 1: not supposed to happen. It was supposed to be a
- 23:26Speaker 1: pass play. Mark Wilson, the quarterback that day, told me
- 23:29Speaker 1: that when the play came in, it was a pass play.
- 23:32Speaker 1: And he said one thing he knew about playing in
- 23:35Speaker 1: the Kingdome and said, you don't want to make a
- 23:37Speaker 1: mistake and get that crowd involved, because it can be
- 23:39Speaker 1: an avalanche on you. But when he heard the play,
- 23:42Speaker 1: he looked and he saw that the Seahawks had six
- 23:45Speaker 1: defensive backs on the field. Well, the Raiders only had
- 23:48Speaker 1: they had their twenty two personnel, two backs and two
- 23:50Speaker 1: tight ends. Only had one wide receiver on the field
- 23:53Speaker 1: and that was James Lofton. And Mark said he didn't
- 23:56Speaker 1: want to take a chance of a mistake happening. The
- 23:58Speaker 1: matchup wasn't good, so he changed it himself, not at
- 24:01Speaker 1: the line, but actually in the huddle through a run play.
- 24:04Speaker 1: And the rest, as they say, is history. Yeah, truly history.
- 24:07Speaker 1: What was the most impressive part of that run that
- 24:10Speaker 1: performance there three five years ago to you, Jim, I'll
- 24:14Speaker 1: say this, Omar doesn't get talked about enough, and it's
- 24:16Speaker 1: Marcus Allen and his role in this look. When both
- 24:20Speaker 1: came to the team off the baseball season, he didn't
- 24:22Speaker 1: know the playbook and so he was behind obviously, And
- 24:26Speaker 1: in practice one day, one of the coaches is yelling
- 24:29Speaker 1: at him about missing an assignment and whatnot. Well, Marcus Allen,
- 24:32Speaker 1: who lets remember as a former league MVP and an
- 24:34Speaker 1: All Pro running back, takes the football, turns around and
- 24:38Speaker 1: hands it to Bow and says, I will block to you.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Not only that, what he would do to help Bo
- 24:43Speaker 1: is that he would lean to one direction to show
- 24:46Speaker 1: Bow which way the quarterback was going to pivot or
- 24:50Speaker 1: the handoff. And so those sorts of little things help
- 24:53Speaker 1: Bow get to where he was and do the things
- 24:56Speaker 1: that he did. And when you talked to the offensive
- 24:58Speaker 1: alignement who were involved in that play, without being solicited,
- 25:02Speaker 1: they bring up Marcus Allen being so unselfish in terms
- 25:07Speaker 1: of sacrificing uh carries, sacrificing yards, those sorts of things
- 25:12Speaker 1: to help Bo be as good as he could be. Yeah,
- 25:14Speaker 1: Marcus Allen one of the great class acts in the
- 25:17Speaker 1: history of the NFL, certainly in Kenton. In his own
- 25:19Speaker 1: right with that gold jacket. Jim Trotter, thank you very
- 25:22Speaker 1: much for much more on that article. Again, go to
- 25:24Speaker 1: NFL dot com slash Trotter to learn about more history
- 25:27Speaker 1: on bo Jackson and that historic performance still to come.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Speaking of the Raiders and the Seahawks, Josh Jacobs Kenneth
- 25:36Speaker 1: Walker might not be in the same category as bo Jackson,
- 25:39Speaker 1: but they put up some solid numbers this season. So
- 25:41Speaker 1: is this matchup in Seattle worthy of your fantasy attention?
- 25:45Speaker 1: Here's Patrick Clavan in the Fantasy Life crew with their
- 25:47Speaker 1: games of the week. Oh we are stuff, not just
- 25:52Speaker 1: with Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving leftovers, but with football. But we
- 25:56Speaker 1: got more football, especially fantasy related football, to look forward
- 25:59Speaker 1: to this weekend. So let's go through our games of
- 26:01Speaker 1: the week. Mike, what are you looking forward to the most?
- 26:03Speaker 1: The Chargers in the Cardinals me stands out immediately, like
- 26:06Speaker 1: we have two wide receiver ones back in our lives
- 26:09Speaker 1: now with d Hop and Keenan Allen. Justin Herbert was
- 26:12Speaker 1: playing better football last week and this is a great
- 26:14Speaker 1: matchup for him. We know Alson Neckler's awesome. James Conner
- 26:17Speaker 1: now has a really good matchup as well. There a
- 26:19Speaker 1: lot of big names in this game, and I think
- 26:21Speaker 1: a lot of points will be scored, a lot of
- 26:23Speaker 1: fantasy games will be determined. I'm really interested in the
- 26:26Speaker 1: Raiders versus the Seahawks, and not just because Jim Trotter
- 26:28Speaker 1: recently wrote about Bo Jackson trucking Brian Bosworth all those
- 26:31Speaker 1: years ago, but I do like the running backs in
- 26:33Speaker 1: this when Josh Jacobs has been kind of a revelation
- 26:35Speaker 1: for us in fantasy. He's been consistently good all year long,
- 26:39Speaker 1: and Kenneth Walker the Third has just stepped up and
- 26:41Speaker 1: been huge in the absence of her shot. Penny looks
- 26:43Speaker 1: like a guy who could potentially be a league winner.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Has a great matchup this week against the Raiders should
- 26:48Speaker 1: absolutely being fantasy lineups. You know what, I'm gonna go
- 26:50Speaker 1: off the side stage here. I know a lot of
- 26:52Speaker 1: people aren't looking at that Texans and Dolphins game and
- 26:55Speaker 1: be like, I gotta watch this one, But honestly, I'm
- 26:58Speaker 1: really looking forward to this one. One of the reasons
- 27:00Speaker 1: why is the running backs on both sides of the football.
- 27:03Speaker 1: We got Damian Pierce, who has been one of the
- 27:05Speaker 1: players in fantasy football this season, but the Miami Dolphins,
- 27:08Speaker 1: who are not very good running the football statistically there
- 27:12Speaker 1: in the NFL in running the ball, but Roheem Mostert
- 27:16Speaker 1: and Jeff Wilson Jr. Both have an opportunity and both
- 27:19Speaker 1: of them need to be in your line. Yeah, so
- 27:21Speaker 1: many fantasy viable players, especially on that Dolphins offense. I'm
- 27:24Speaker 1: looking at the Titans taking on the Cincinnati Bengals, and
- 27:27Speaker 1: there's really only one fantasy viable player on the Tennessey Titans,
- 27:31Speaker 1: fortunately for you and for anybody else that has them,
- 27:33Speaker 1: Derrick Henry. Yes, it is Derrick Henry the King. In
- 27:37Speaker 1: six of his last eight games, he's gone over twenties
- 27:40Speaker 1: fantasy points. And then on the other side, Tee Higgins
- 27:43Speaker 1: right now in terms of receptions is a overall wide
- 27:45Speaker 1: receiver three so this week nine. So keep an eye
- 27:48Speaker 1: on that game and keep an eye on us on
- 27:50Speaker 1: the NFL Fantasy Live all week on a NFL network. Yeah,
- 27:54Speaker 1: right there at six eastern. Thank you, Patrick and crew.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Time now for the Pepsi zero Sugar Rookie of the
- 27:59Speaker 1: Week Award. Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson is this week's
- 28:03Speaker 1: when you're getting forty uno the votes after reporting both
- 28:06Speaker 1: an interception and a fumble recovery in the Lions Week
- 28:09Speaker 1: eleven win against the Giants. Congratulations to Aidan Hudchison, your
- 28:13Speaker 1: Pepsi zero Sugar Rookie of the Week four Week eleven.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Time now for one more thing? Judie Batista will start
- 28:21Speaker 1: with you. What's your one more thing? Well, Stefan Diggs
- 28:24Speaker 1: made one of the biggest place of the day yesterday
- 28:26Speaker 1: to save the Buffalo Bills. But how about this Before
- 28:30Speaker 1: the game, he pulled this young fan down out of
- 28:32Speaker 1: the stands to participate in pre give wroops. Took him
- 28:35Speaker 1: out on the field through my path and then the
- 28:38Speaker 1: kids who are pretty good path back to Stefan. That
- 28:40Speaker 1: is a fan for life. Great jobs to find Diggs, Mike,
- 28:44Speaker 1: what's your one more thing? All right to me? Thanksgiving
- 28:46Speaker 1: us all about family and football, and yesterday it all
- 28:49Speaker 1: came together for yours truly. The man seen it is
- 28:52Speaker 1: my father, the man behind him is my brother. The
- 28:55Speaker 1: number seventeen is my son. Big win for them yesterday
- 28:58Speaker 1: on a Thanksgiving Day, and to have those guys together
- 29:01Speaker 1: with me was pretty awesome. Impressive that they're playing on Thanksgiving.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Good on Mike's sons to team Mark. What's your one
- 29:06Speaker 1: more Thing, marblee more thing yesterday. The three games, the
- 29:10Speaker 1: first time since nineteen six that three Thanksgiving games, we're
- 29:14Speaker 1: all within one score and it helped at the Giants
- 29:16Speaker 1: with that late, uh late score helped a lot of people.
- 29:20Speaker 1: I'm sure our friends in Vegas know what you're talking about.
- 29:23Speaker 1: It's also the twenty one anniversary of this. Uh. Playoffs,
- 29:29Speaker 1: don't talk about the playoffs. You're kidding me. Playoffs. I
- 29:33Speaker 1: just hope we can win a game. One of the
- 29:35Speaker 1: great sound bites of all time. Jim Mora and the
- 29:39Speaker 1: Playoffs even spawned a whole commercial campaign there with that speech.
- 29:44Speaker 1: I caught up with Jim Mora UH in Arizona little
- 29:47Speaker 1: earlier this season, as great a personality as ever. Thank
- 29:51Speaker 1: you for giving us that one, but we'll never forget. Everybody,
- 29:54Speaker 1: have a great weekend, enjoy the games on Sunday. NFL
