- 0:00Hello and welcome back to Female Startup Club. This is Dune, your host and hype girl. In today's quick episode, I'm going through four useful accounts that I am currently obsessed with on TikTok and a very special invite to my New York book launch party. Let's get straight into this episode. This is me for Female Startup Club. Hello. Hello.
- 0:28I hope this beautiful Friday is treating you well and that you are feeling super groovy. Which, by the way, I feel like we need to bring this word back. I love groovy. It reminds me of that scene. Well, it reminds me of that guy, rather, in the Notting Hill movie.
- 0:46So I have Sweetie sitting on my lap right now, by the way. She had surgery this week and she's extra fragile at the moment. So please bear with me if you hear her rustling about while we record this episode. I'm going to be quickly taking you through some of the top TikTok accounts that I'm currently obsessed with. The first one being yourrichbff.
- 1:12So Vivian shares these quick, digestible financial literacy videos that feature like tax tips and budgeting stuff and, you know, strategies, I guess. And I really love her series, this specific series around side hustle ideas, because she shares all these like websites that I've literally never heard of before where you can make a
- 1:38money doing weird things. It's super clever. You definitely need to check it out. The second one, also kind of money related, is called Girls That Invest.
- 1:49And it's exactly what it sounds like. It's an account all about investing directly targeted towards women and minority groups. So Simran has a top ranking podcast. It's all about investing and it's well worth a listen. I originally learned about it because she posted a video about Female Startup Club that maybe someone tagged me in or I somehow just like randomly came across it. Or maybe she tagged me in a video as well on Instagram, but I'm not sure.
- 2:18I started following her from there and kind of learned a bit more about what she's up to. And I saw in a recent video she posted that a woman used her advice to start making her first investments. And I am just all about that energy. I'm so into it. And for, you know, your rich BFF and girls that invest,
- 2:38I'm actually speaking on a panel with these two women next week. And all the details haven't been firmed up. We're still trying to find the exact time and the exact date, but it's happening next week, I'm pretty sure, maybe the week after. But you can find out more by keeping in the loop with our newsletter, which is, you know, you go into femalestartupclub.com and pop in your details and then we'll send out the details. It'll also be in next week's episode too, but
- 3:02Just so you know, if you want to come along, we would love to meet you there. It's going to be online. I guess it's going to be on Zoom. But we're going to be chatting all things money on that panel conversation. So keep note. The third TikTok account, and I think I've mentioned Andrea before from Latinopreneur, but she deserves another mention. She is an expert in the TikTok creator space, and she just shares so much information.
- 3:31wisdom. I feel like there's lots of tips and ideas, but what I really love about her content is she answers questions specifically from her audience around marketing for small business owners and overall just generally gives you the good vibes that you need to get out there and start making noise on TikTok. She's definitely been someone that encouraged me to start posting. And that's why a few weeks ago,
- 3:56I started getting back into it with her kind of like cheering me on from the sidelines. So highly recommend checking her out. She is a shining star.
- 4:07And the last TikTok account that is looped into my current addiction is IamDulma. I actually discovered her account literally today because she created a video about the Female Startup Club podcast. And I immediately followed and got super deep into her content. She's basically worked at a bunch of startups. She bootstrapped her own e-commerce brands.
- 4:37into news. And what I like most is these quick opinion pieces about certain brands. She did one recently on Glossier, which was kind of interesting to see. So check those four accounts out. They are so well worth a follow. I'm sure you're going to learn a lot from them like I am.
- 4:59Not a TikTok account, but also dropping a quick note about the video editing app called Vemly or Vemly. I think you spell it V-E-M-E dot L-Y.
- 5:12I think that's how you pronounce it. But anyway, I was speaking on the Success Story podcast last night with Scott D. Clary, and he told me about it. I mean, he has like all sorts of crazy followers on every channel. And he was saying he just like sits on the couch and edits his podcast clips to put in certain captions. Like they're very, if you go on his Instagram, they're kind of like big, bold,
- 5:36text and kind of fun sounds and whatever. So he told me about it. Now I'm going to give it a world to edit my own podcast clips. And I thought it was just worth a mention that that's something I recently discovered.
- 5:49Okay, and so one last quick slash very important thing for our New Yorkers who are tuning into this episode, if you are based in New York or if you're going to be in New York on the 10th of March, I think it's a Thursday, the wonderful humans at Norby and Brick and Click are throwing me a little book launch party and you are, of course, invited. Okay.
- 6:15I'm going to be hosting a panel-style conversation with Rushi from Avrani and Kim from Omsom about building their businesses in 2022. We've had Rushi on the show, I think, in 2020, and we had Kim's sister, Vanessa, on the show last year sharing their stories. These women are so brilliant. I love these businesses. They're both featured in the book. I'm going to be hosting a panel-style conversation with Rushi from Avrani and Kim from Omsom
- 6:41So I would love for you to come along, meet us all, learn about them and have some fun. Of course, celebrate. If you don't know who Norby is, I've mentioned them before. We've been using their software for the last six months. They basically offer ridiculously easy marketing tools for small biz owners and creators like us bringing together things like a link in bio, SMS and events all in one place.
- 7:10And if you don't know who Brick and Click is, it is this super cool experiential retail concept, which combines the pleasure of shopping in-store with the convenience of online shopping. They're going to have my book available to buy. And they also have so many female-founded D2C brands in there. So it's a great place to discover new stuff. I'm also told...
- 7:34very excitingly, that there might even be some super cute goodie bags available on the night. So if you check out my show notes, you're going to be able to see a link that allows you to RSVP if you want to come along, hop in there. I think you just need to provide some basic details and
- 7:54Yeah, I would love to see you there. Use this as a save the date reminder. And next week, I might share a little bit more about specifics of the night. We're only just firming up the details now. So it's all very new. I'm super excited. That's all for today. That's my quick episode. Hope you love it. Feel free to reach out to me on the DMs on Instagram anytime. I love to chat and I love to hear what you're up to. Have the best day. Bye.
