Latest / The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show / Hour 3 - This Will Anger You to Vote
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: All right.
- 0:00Speaker 2: Hour three. Clay and Buck kicks off now. We are
- 0:03Speaker 2: staying laser focused on the midterms, which are just days
- 0:06Speaker 2: away now. Get out and vote. Get out and vote
- 0:08Speaker 2: or Clay will shame you. We have now Senator John
- 0:12Speaker 2: Husted with us. He is from the great state of Ohio.
- 0:16Speaker 2: And Senator, you got to win, sir. I just I
- 0:19Speaker 2: don't know what else to say. You got to win.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Tell us how you're going to win.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Well, we're working as hard as we possibly can. I
- 0:27Speaker 3: don't know that I could be more places in Ohio
- 0:29Speaker 3: than I've been from the river to the lake to
- 0:32Speaker 3: the Indiana border to the Pennsylvania border. We've been everywhere
- 0:35Speaker 3: reminding people about what we've done to fight for them,
- 0:39Speaker 3: meaning working family tax cut plan, no tax on tips
- 0:41Speaker 3: over time or social security, helping families get ahead and
- 0:45Speaker 3: reminding them that I led the economic revitalization of Ohio.
- 0:48Speaker 3: And today in Ohio, we have the most jobs and
- 0:50Speaker 3: the lowest unemployment rate in our history. And if you
- 0:53Speaker 3: elect Democrats, if you elect Sherry Brown, you will destroy.
- 0:56Speaker 3: all of that momentum that we are creating, you will
- 0:59Speaker 3: destroy the future of our state and our nation because
- 1:03Speaker 3: this guy has been in office for over 50 years.
- 1:06Speaker 3: And everywhere I go, I ask the question, what has
- 1:08Speaker 3: Sherrod Brown done to make your life better? And nobody
- 1:10Speaker 3: can come up with a single thing. They recognize he's
- 1:13Speaker 3: had 50 years of failure that included higher taxes, shutting
- 1:17Speaker 3: down power plants that raises their electric bills, a radical
- 1:21Speaker 3: left-wing agenda that represents Washington, not Ohio.
- 1:24Speaker 4: So Trump won the state of Ohio by about 11 points.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Bernie Marino beat this same guy, Sherrod Brown, running in 2024.
- 1:34Speaker 4: But a part of me thinks there's probably because you
- 1:37Speaker 4: just laid it out. He's been in office for so long.
- 1:40Speaker 4: I bet you're running into a lot of people who
- 1:42Speaker 4: think he's still in office, meaning there are a lot
- 1:45Speaker 4: of Ohioans out there that are so used to him
- 1:48Speaker 4: being there and doing nothing that they still think he's there.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Is there a little bit of that when you're on
- 1:52Speaker 2: the campaign trail?
- 1:54Speaker 4: And how might that impact things when people are upset
- 1:57Speaker 4: about the direction of the country? You've got to be
- 1:59Speaker 4: upset with a guy who was there for nearly 50 years.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Yeah, well, he's not the change agent, that's for sure.
- 2:06Speaker 3: He tries to portray himself as one, but it's just
- 2:08Speaker 3: all phony baloney and everybody knows it. He had 50
- 2:12Speaker 3: years in office. A lot of people still think he's
- 2:14Speaker 3: in office. Remember this, in the last two elections, he
- 2:19Speaker 3: will have spent and the Democrats will have spent over
- 2:22Speaker 3: a half a billion dollars on him. So he has 100%
- 2:26Speaker 3: name ID. Most of it's negative. And I honestly believe
- 2:32Speaker 3: that if people are upset with the direction of the country,
- 2:36Speaker 3: more people blame him than me. I've been there for
- 2:38Speaker 3: 18 months and I have cut taxes for people. We
- 2:43Speaker 3: have the most jobs and the lowest unemployment rate we've
- 2:45Speaker 3: ever had in our state's history. And Sherrod Brown has
- 2:47Speaker 3: done nothing but jack up their taxes, including jacking up
- 2:51Speaker 3: their tax on gasoline, shutting down refineries, power plants, all
- 2:56Speaker 3: of the things that we need to create the supply
- 2:58Speaker 3: to meet demand. They don't see him as the solution
- 3:00Speaker 3: to the problem. They see him as the problem.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Now, Senator, this may be in some ways more in
- 3:06Speaker 2: the purview of.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Perhaps governor ramaswamy than yours but i am curious to
- 3:12Speaker 2: have you weigh in on you mentioned power um these
- 3:16Speaker 2: data centers it's become a big issue it's a big
- 3:18Speaker 2: issue in texas i know it's an issue in ohio
- 3:21Speaker 2: as well what do you think about how this should
- 3:24Speaker 2: be handled because right on the one hand you've got
- 3:26Speaker 2: progress jobs uh tax revenue all these things the other
- 3:30Speaker 2: hand you've got quality of life water and electricity prices
- 3:33Speaker 2: i mean you have this push pull where do you
- 3:35Speaker 2: come down on.
- 3:35Speaker 3: That Yeah, well, in every interview I do, I remind
- 3:39Speaker 3: people that this interview would not be possible without a
- 3:41Speaker 3: data center. If you use your mobile phone, you're using
- 3:44Speaker 3: a data center. You watch streaming, you're using a data center.
- 3:47Speaker 3: So they're part of our daily lives. But the deal is,
- 3:50Speaker 3: let's make sure that you only put them where people
- 3:52Speaker 3: want them. If you're a community that doesn't want them,
- 3:55Speaker 3: that should be decided at the local level. The federal
- 3:57Speaker 3: government shouldn't tell you whether you have one or you
- 3:59Speaker 3: don't have one. But the one thing that extends beyond
- 4:01Speaker 3: the community is electric prices, okay? I had a bill.
- 4:05Speaker 3: I have a bill pending in Congress that would require
- 4:09Speaker 3: data centers to pay for all of the electricity generation
- 4:12Speaker 3: and infrastructure, saving the local and state rate payers a
- 4:16Speaker 3: bunch of money because the data centers will pay for
- 4:18Speaker 3: the cost, not them. It passed the House. 417 to 3,
- 4:23Speaker 3: 206 Democrats voted for it. But when it got back
- 4:26Speaker 3: over to the Senate, Chuck Schumer blocked it. He blocked
- 4:30Speaker 3: the bill that I had to require this because, frankly,
- 4:35Speaker 3: Sherrod Brown.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Wanted him to.
- 4:36Speaker 3: They didn't want me to get a win. They didn't
- 4:37Speaker 3: want me to solve the problem. Here's the deal, folks.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Democrats want to talk about affordability and data centers, but
- 4:43Speaker 3: they don't want to do anything to help fix the problem.
- 4:46Speaker 3: I have legislation to do that. It could be law
- 4:49Speaker 3: today if Chuck Schumer hadn't blocked it. We'll get it
- 4:52Speaker 3: done when I return to the Congress and to the U.S.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Senate.
- 4:56Speaker 3: And we'll hold data centers accountable. And that should fix
- 4:58Speaker 3: most of the problems that people are complaining about.
- 5:01Speaker 4: You are about to head to a Donald Trump rally
- 5:05Speaker 4: in Ohio. What is the impact of Donald Trump rallies
- 5:09Speaker 4: in Ohio from your perspective? How do they move the
- 5:11Speaker 4: race and what is their significance in your experience?
- 5:16Speaker 3: Well, they motivate people. They remind people there's an election.
- 5:20Speaker 3: It helps us gather thousands of people, reach hundreds of
- 5:24Speaker 3: thousands of people directly and talk to them about the
- 5:27Speaker 3: election and what's at stake. The president will have been
- 5:31Speaker 3: here three times in less than 30 days. This tells
- 5:33Speaker 3: you a lot about how the president's going to be
- 5:34Speaker 3: here three times, maybe four. The vice president's been here
- 5:37Speaker 3: three times, maybe four in a 30 day period. We're
- 5:41Speaker 3: bringing in people like Tim Scott and John Kennedy and
- 5:46Speaker 3: my colleagues from all over the country. The Democrats aren't
- 5:48Speaker 3: bringing anyone into Ohio except they had Barack Obama one
- 5:51Speaker 3: time in Cleveland to try to turn out the vote
- 5:54Speaker 3: on the weekends in inner city Cleveland. But the Democrats
- 5:58Speaker 3: are not showing their face in Ohio. They're trying to
- 6:00Speaker 3: hide what their national agenda is about. We're trying to
- 6:03Speaker 3: promote it, which means secure the borders, cut taxes, open
- 6:08Speaker 3: up new resources with and refineries and power plants to
- 6:13Speaker 3: help lower prices for gas and oil and electricity. President
- 6:19Speaker 3: being here really helps us get the message out because
- 6:21Speaker 3: he won Ohio by 11 points. If we get those
- 6:24Speaker 3: same voters to turn out, which it looks like we are,
- 6:26Speaker 3: the early voting numbers are on track for us, right
- 6:29Speaker 3: where we need them to be to win, all of
- 6:31Speaker 3: it's helpful.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Let me ask you that. Sorry to cut off, Buck,
- 6:34Speaker 4: but we asked Mike Rogers about those two. We've been
- 6:37Speaker 4: encouraging people to get out and vote as early as
- 6:39Speaker 4: they can. What are those early voting numbers telling you?
- 6:42Speaker 4: And we got a big audience all throughout the state
- 6:45Speaker 4: of Ohio, Cincinnati's listening, Columbus, and also Cleveland. What would
- 6:50Speaker 4: you tell everybody listening right now in Ohio they need
- 6:53Speaker 4: to do and what the data is showing you so far?
- 6:57Speaker 3: Well, they need to get out and vote. And I
- 6:59Speaker 3: have fresh data here. I'm looking right at it. It
- 7:01Speaker 3: basically says that the turnout in 2026 is the same
- 7:06Speaker 3: as the turnout it was in 2022. It's slightly elevated.
- 7:10Speaker 3: in terms of like, we've got 120, 20% of the
- 7:13Speaker 3: people or 120% of the early vote is, is outpacing
- 7:18Speaker 3: where it was two years ago. But the mix in
- 7:20Speaker 3: terms of Republicans and Democrats is right where it was
- 7:23Speaker 3: in 2022. And what happened in 2022, JD Vance won
- 7:26Speaker 3: by seven, Governor DeWine and I won by 25. I'm
- 7:29Speaker 3: not predicting that we're going to win by 25 or seven.
- 7:32Speaker 3: There are other issues. It's a midterm election in which
- 7:34Speaker 3: the Republicans are in charge, which makes it harder to
- 7:37Speaker 3: But but the numbers look good. And if vote if
- 7:40Speaker 3: literally if Republicans get out to vote like they have
- 7:44Speaker 3: done in the past, we will win.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Just wondering what you can tell us about the national
- 7:51Speaker 2: Democrat effort to infuse cash outside dollars. And I'm sure
- 7:57Speaker 2: media attention. How have they been trying to make Ohioans vote?
- 8:01Speaker 2: forget what it's like to have Democrats in charge? What
- 8:05Speaker 2: kind of campaigns are they running and where's the money
- 8:06Speaker 2: coming from?
- 8:09Speaker 3: Well, they're hiding a lot of their candidates, frankly. They're
- 8:12Speaker 3: not debating. They're not doing a lot of public appearances.
- 8:16Speaker 3: They're not doing a lot of difficult media interviews because
- 8:19Speaker 3: they don't want to talk. They just want to try
- 8:22Speaker 3: to blame everything that's going wrong in the world on
- 8:25Speaker 3: Republicans or on President Trump and just hope that they
- 8:28Speaker 3: can create enough anger at the president to bring all
- 8:31Speaker 3: Republicans down. That is their strategy. They have nothing to offer.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Socialism is not welcome in Ohio. We didn't become a
- 8:37Speaker 3: state that elected Donald Trump two years ago by 11
- 8:40Speaker 3: points and all of a sudden say, no, we want
- 8:42Speaker 3: El-Sayed Madami and Sherrod Brown. That's the agenda we want
- 8:45Speaker 3: for Ohio. We just got to remind them about what's
- 8:48Speaker 3: at stake.
- 8:48Speaker 2: But is Sherrod Brown, is he doing the Biden thing of,
- 8:53Speaker 2: I've been around forever, so of course I'm moderate, even
- 8:55Speaker 2: though if he becomes a senator, he's going to vote
- 8:58Speaker 2: with the radical left that controls his party. 99% of
- 9:01Speaker 2: the time. Is that his, what's his move? I mean,
- 9:04Speaker 2: you're mentioning that they're trying to keep them out of
- 9:05Speaker 2: the public eye, which I get why they're doing that.
- 9:08Speaker 2: But to the degree that Sherrod Brown is actually taking
- 9:11Speaker 2: positions on anything, is he pulling the guys? I'm not
- 9:14Speaker 2: that crazy. Like my party, my party is the crazy thing,
- 9:17Speaker 2: but I'm normal.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Honestly, he's just running attack ads against me and lying.
- 9:22Speaker 3: He's lying, lying, lying. Um, And that's what he's doing.
- 9:27Speaker 3: That's why I asked this question to voters. I'm like,
- 9:29Speaker 3: can you name one thing? He's been in office for
- 9:31Speaker 3: over 50 years. Can you name one thing that he's
- 9:33Speaker 3: done to make your life better? Because he's not running
- 9:35Speaker 3: any ads about anything he's ever done to help people
- 9:38Speaker 3: in Ohio. I think it's pretty embarrassing, frankly. If you've
- 9:42Speaker 3: been in office for 50 years, isn't there one thing
- 9:44Speaker 3: that you've done that's helped the people of Ohio you'd
- 9:47Speaker 3: like to talk about? Not with him. He just runs
- 9:49Speaker 3: dishonest attack ads against me. That's his strategy.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Okay, President Trump has been praising your athletic ability, even
- 9:58Speaker 4: your physique. Now, I know you're a former football player
- 10:03Speaker 4: in college. I think you had some success at defensive
- 10:06Speaker 4: back back in the day. Was the president shocked by
- 10:09Speaker 4: your athletic prowess? And do you feel pressure to be
- 10:13Speaker 4: in good physical shape when the president's talking about what
- 10:16Speaker 4: a badass you are?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Well, it's funny because he was in Dayton and John
- 10:21Speaker 3: Gruden showed up for the event. And the president said
- 10:23Speaker 3: to Gruden, he said, what are you doing here? He said,
- 10:25Speaker 3: I'm here to support my teammate. And he says, who's
- 10:27Speaker 3: your teammate? He said, John Husted, I played football with
- 10:30Speaker 3: him in college. And he said, I didn't know Husted
- 10:32Speaker 3: played football. And Gruden told him, he's like, yeah, he
- 10:35Speaker 3: won a national championship. He had 17 interceptions. He was
- 10:38Speaker 3: a defensive back. He used to jack people up. And
- 10:41Speaker 3: the president was like, are you serious? He didn't know
- 10:43Speaker 3: that about me. Because frankly, I just don't, it's a
- 10:46Speaker 3: long time ago. I don't talk about that stuff. I
- 10:48Speaker 3: stay focused on, you know, kind of serving the public
- 10:51Speaker 3: and not living, living in my glory days. And, uh,
- 10:54Speaker 3: and so the president I think was, was, uh, impressed
- 10:57Speaker 3: to learn all of those things. And, and then he
- 11:00Speaker 3: punched me on the shoulder and he realized that, Hey,
- 11:02Speaker 3: this guy spent some time in the weight room. And,
- 11:05Speaker 3: and so after he started to say a few of
- 11:07Speaker 3: these things, my wife, I said to my wife, I'm like, well,
- 11:10Speaker 3: I feel the pressure now to get down in the
- 11:11Speaker 3: basement and spend some time in the weight room. I
- 11:13Speaker 3: got to rip a tape.
- 11:15Speaker 2: I think you may be the first Senator slash Senate
- 11:17Speaker 2: candidate in American history to have a sitting president praise
- 11:22Speaker 2: your gluteus Maximus, which is what happened. Well, you know what?
- 11:29Speaker 3: I'll take it. There's a lot worse.
- 11:31Speaker 2: What else are you going to do?
- 11:34Speaker 4: 17 interceptions. 17 interceptions is a ton of interceptions. Who
- 11:39Speaker 4: are you playing against? Jameis Winston?
- 11:42Speaker 3: Hey, you know what? I had a walk-off moment in
- 11:47Speaker 3: our final game. I intercepted the pass to end the game.
- 11:51Speaker 3: We won the national championship in our division. We weren't
- 11:53Speaker 3: Division I, but... But, you know, that's a walk-off moment
- 11:57Speaker 3: for you. The last play you ever played, I have
- 11:59Speaker 3: a pick to win a national championship. That was great
- 12:02Speaker 3: for me.
- 12:03Speaker 2: You're going to intercept it from Sherrod Brown on Tuesday.
- 12:06Speaker 2: All right, buddy, you're going to run it home for
- 12:07Speaker 2: the touchdown. Stay in the fight, sir. Senator, appreciate you.
- 12:11Speaker 2: And what's your website in case anybody wants to just
- 12:14Speaker 2: help however they can these last days?
- 12:18Speaker 3: We need you. JohnHustedForSenate.com, J-O-N-H-U-S-T-E-D for Senate.com. Please send your
- 12:26Speaker 3: money and your love our way. We need it. Your prayers.
- 12:28Speaker 3: And by the way, I have so many people that
- 12:30Speaker 3: tell me they're praying for me. That's a big deal, too.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Absolutely. Well, thoughts, prayers, and our hearts go with you.
- 12:36Speaker 2: We're with you. Thank you. Thank you. I really like
- 12:40Speaker 2: that guy.
- 12:41Speaker 4: He's great.
- 12:42Speaker 2: He's great. I think it'll be a fun.
- 12:44Speaker 4: I bet Trump's going to lean in even more on
- 12:46Speaker 4: that because he's getting criticized. And some people, Buck, you
- 12:49Speaker 4: may have noticed when criticism comes, some people back away.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Other people lean into it and actually double and triple
- 12:56Speaker 4: and quadruple down. I'm betting President Trump is going to
- 12:59Speaker 4: go all in on the physique compliments for John Husted,
- 13:04Speaker 4: which can be getting a lot of attention.

- 14:06Speaker 2: Let me tell you, do you own a home?
- 14:08Speaker 4: Do you want to do away with a mortgage that
- 14:11Speaker 4: is not allowing you to have equity? Do you want

- 14:16Speaker 4: Would you like to pay off your mortgage? And then
- 14:19Speaker 4: in the process, also be able to pay off your
- 14:21Speaker 4: credit card debt and your potential high interest loans, personal loans,

- 14:32Speaker 2: You made the right decision. It's your money. Why have
- 14:35Speaker 2: it locked up and not be able to use it?

- 14:55Speaker 4: A lot of people reacting. Let me kind of give
- 14:58Speaker 4: a little bit of a roadmap for people out there.
- 15:00Speaker 4: You should definitely go grab the podcast, and certainly you
- 15:04Speaker 4: can come hang with us on YouTube. Steve Hilton, we
- 15:07Speaker 4: went out to California to get the absolute latest on
- 15:10Speaker 4: the midterms from Steve, the California Republican gubernatorial nominee. We
- 15:15Speaker 4: talked with Mike Rogers up in Michigan. We just talked
- 15:18Speaker 4: with John Husted as he's getting ready for President Trump
- 15:21Speaker 4: to have a rally in Ohio. We are going to
- 15:24Speaker 4: all of the battlegrounds right now, across the United States. Yesterday,
- 15:29Speaker 4: we talked with Roger Marshall from Kansas. We have got
- 15:33Speaker 4: Ken Paxton scheduled to come on with us. If you
- 15:37Speaker 4: are in a battleground, we are trying to get the
- 15:41Speaker 4: story from the ground from you. And I thought, Buck,
- 15:43Speaker 4: a couple of news angles that stood out to me.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Mike Rogers said he thinks he can pick up 35,000
- 15:50Speaker 4: Jewish voters In Michigan, remember, he only lost by 17
- 15:56Speaker 4: or 18,000. He also thinks he can pick up a
- 15:58Speaker 4: lot of black voters relative to what has traditionally happened.
- 16:03Speaker 4: And both of these guys told us in Michigan and
- 16:07Speaker 4: in Ohio, Republican early voters are showing up well. and
- 16:14Speaker 4: actually somewhat outpacing what we have seen before in that world.
- 16:20Speaker 4: So you guys got to keep voting in all these
- 16:22Speaker 4: battleground states. But I do like that data that they
- 16:24Speaker 4: can give us in real time of who they project
- 16:27Speaker 4: is voting in both those states.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I would agree. Let's get some talkbacks here. Podcast listener
- 16:33Speaker 2: Lewis in Georgia, E on the list. Hit it.
- 16:36Speaker 5: I'm in the Tesla cult. Told my son 10 years
- 16:39Speaker 5: ago when he told me that cars would be driving me,
- 16:41Speaker 5: I said, no way a car's ever going to drive me.
- 16:44Speaker 2: But I've bought mine.
- 16:45Speaker 5: I got mine the same day that Clay got his,
- 16:48Speaker 5: and I'm at like 85% full self-drive. Then I bought
- 16:51Speaker 5: my wife one. Have a Starlink and getting a Powerwall,
- 16:55Speaker 5: full E-line.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Speaking of Starlink, did you see the The United Airlines
- 17:00Speaker 2: CEO just straight up came out and said, now they've
- 17:03Speaker 2: launched Starlink on all their– or they're in process of.
- 17:07Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know if it's on all of
- 17:08Speaker 2: them yet, but they've done a deal with Starlink that
- 17:10Speaker 2: people are actively choosing the airline with Starlink. Very smart
- 17:16Speaker 2: by United, I might add. Actively choosing the Starlink option
- 17:20Speaker 2: as a differentiator, meaning I was going to fly with so-and-so,
- 17:23Speaker 2: but now I'm going to fly with the guys who
- 17:25Speaker 2: have Starlink. Southwest, by the way, Clay, one of them.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Yeah, look, I think one of the challenges with Starlink
- 17:30Speaker 4: is it works so good, you're going to have to
- 17:32Speaker 4: get used to people making phone conversations, FaceTiming on airplanes
- 17:37Speaker 4: because the quality of Wi-Fi is so good. And on
- 17:41Speaker 4: the Tesla front with that guy, I'm just telling you,
- 17:44Speaker 4: you live in the future. If you buy a Tesla,
- 17:46Speaker 4: a great American company, try it. I'm telling you, you
- 17:50Speaker 4: will be blown away like you already are.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Okay, it's the middle of the night, guys. The house
- 17:56Speaker 2: is dark. Your family's asleep. You hear something downstairs. Now,
- 17:59Speaker 2: maybe it's nothing. Maybe it's not. When the people you
- 18:03Speaker 2: love are counting on you, the last thing you want
- 18:05Speaker 2: is uncertainty. The last thing you want is to think,
- 18:08Speaker 2: I wish I had prepared for this before. That's why
- 18:12Speaker 2: Sabre created the new Ready Fire Home Defense Launcher. Visible
- 18:17Speaker 2: pressure indicator pin lets you know the launcher is pressurized
- 18:20Speaker 2: and ready for use. No wondering, no second-guessing. Just added
- 18:23Speaker 2: confidence in a high-stress moment when your only concern is
- 18:26Speaker 2: protecting your family with the most trusted, less lethal home
- 18:29Speaker 2: defense solution on the market right now. That's ReadyFire. They
- 18:33Speaker 2: can handle a threat from up to 175 feet away.
- 18:36Speaker 2: You hope that night never comes. You hope that bump
- 18:39Speaker 2: in the dark doesn't happen. But if it does, you
- 18:42Speaker 2: want to be prepared. Learn more at SaberRadio.com. You can
- 18:46Speaker 2: also find the new Saber Ready Fire Launcher at Bass
- 18:50Speaker 2: Pro Shops. The website is S-A-B-R-E Radio.com. That's SaberRadio.com. Welcome
- 18:56Speaker 2: back into Clay and Buck. So we've covered a lot
- 18:59Speaker 2: of the big races today. In fact, had the Republican
- 19:03Speaker 2: nominees or the incumbents in some cases with us here.
- 19:07Speaker 2: We've had Houston of Ohio. It's barely a heck of
- 19:12Speaker 2: a defensive back. 17 interceptions, a lot, Buck. Yeah, and
- 19:18Speaker 2: the president gave a lot of credit to his backside.
- 19:23Speaker 2: That is a real thing that happened, just so you know.
- 19:25Speaker 2: I'm not making that up. You also had with us,
- 19:28Speaker 2: of course, Mike Rogers of Michigan, and he's in that
- 19:30Speaker 2: critical race. Alaska, though. Yeah. We have a very loyal
- 19:35Speaker 2: and wonderful listenership up in Alaska, which is just so
- 19:39Speaker 2: cool the way all this technology works. You can listen
- 19:42Speaker 2: to us a lot, because I've been to Alaska. unlike
- 19:45Speaker 2: some people on this radio show. I've been to Alaska,
- 19:47Speaker 2: and it is far. It is a long way. way
- 19:50Speaker 2: from the East Coast, I will tell you that. So
- 19:52Speaker 2: it's really cool that you can all listen to us
- 19:54Speaker 2: up there. And this story about your Senate race, Alaskans,
- 20:00Speaker 2: on the one hand, I think a lot of you
- 20:02Speaker 2: won't be surprised by it. And on the other hand,
- 20:05Speaker 2: or rather maybe point one and point two, point two,
- 20:08Speaker 2: it should fire you up even more to make sure
- 20:11Speaker 2: that they do not get away with this chicanery. Is
- 20:16Speaker 2: that the right word? I think that's a very well
- 20:19Speaker 2: deployed word there. Thank you. Clay, this is the piece
- 20:22Speaker 2: you just flagged it for me. Take us through what
- 20:24Speaker 2: happened here. Inside Democrats' secret effort to stack Alaska's ballot.
- 20:29Speaker 2: This is much more intense than we were told before.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Yes.
- 20:33Speaker 4: And so this is important. They have registered Daniel J.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Sullivan and they're running him against Dan S. Sullivan, so-called
- 20:44Speaker 4: decoy Dan. And the Poltola campaign has tried to say, well,
- 20:49Speaker 4: this just happened by chance. I think all of you
- 20:51Speaker 4: out there. know that this did not just happen by chance.
- 20:55Speaker 4: But this is the New York Times saying the Peltola
- 20:59Speaker 4: campaign has repeatedly denied any involvement in his candidacy. But
- 21:04Speaker 4: the Times has found, based on interviews and text messages,
- 21:08Speaker 4: along with documents prepared for a potential lawsuit against the campaign,
- 21:13Speaker 4: that not only did Ms. Patola's team work with people
- 21:17Speaker 4: trying to recruit Mr. Sullivan, that's decoy Dan, to run
- 21:21Speaker 4: for the Senate, but the effort was much broader. The
- 21:25Speaker 4: group worked to coax other would-be spoilers into the race
- 21:30Speaker 4: to dilute the incumbent's support to help catapult the Democrat
- 21:34Speaker 4: to victory. The endeavor, which was internally called the ballot
- 21:38Speaker 4: ballot composition project, involves secret trips to far flung Alaskan communities.
- 21:45Speaker 4: The appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative who traversed the
- 21:49Speaker 4: state using a fake name. and made his pitch to
- 21:52Speaker 4: would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs. It also involved,
- 21:57Speaker 4: and I'm reading from the New York Times, it also
- 22:00Speaker 4: involved the Peltola's campaign's lawyers as well as senior aides
- 22:04Speaker 4: at the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee, which directs the party's
- 22:08Speaker 4: campaign strategy. From Washington to Anchorage, those advisors participated in
- 22:14Speaker 4: regular conversations about the efforts and even considered forming a
- 22:18Speaker 4: new political party to draw conservatives onto the ballot. OK,
- 22:25Speaker 4: I mean, this was a attempt to steal the election
- 22:30Speaker 4: from the sitting incumbent senator. And it's all out there.
- 22:35Speaker 4: They're caught red handed. There is no defense that this guy,
- 22:39Speaker 4: Dan Sullivan, just happened to have the same name. I
- 22:42Speaker 4: think all of you understand that it was highly improbable
- 22:46Speaker 4: that this could occur. But what this article is demonstrating
- 22:50Speaker 4: is they've got the goods in terms of text messages,
- 22:53Speaker 4: emails and concrete evidence of exactly how this campaign was
- 22:57Speaker 4: directed and went down.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Well, what it does is change any lingering question or
- 23:02Speaker 2: perception that somehow maybe this guy, fake Dan decoy, Dan
- 23:08Speaker 2: came up with this on his own, maybe approach some
- 23:11Speaker 2: Democrat operatives about it. And that there was something organic
- 23:15Speaker 2: or even grassroots about this underhanded campaign, this, uh, this
- 23:20Speaker 2: subterfuge up in the Alaskan, uh, peninsula up on the
- 23:26Speaker 2: Alaskan peninsula. Clay, uh, That's one part of it. Clearly,
- 23:30Speaker 2: this was a professional, organized Democrat hit. They, the Democrat operatives,
- 23:40Speaker 2: the people who are paid and part of that complex,
- 23:43Speaker 2: that apparatus, went out to find the fake Sullivan, the
- 23:47Speaker 2: fine decoy, Dan. That's part one. But part two that
- 23:49Speaker 2: I have on this still is, I know it's super annoying.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I know it's very gross. We all understand... why this
- 23:57Speaker 2: is wrong and nasty and underhanded. Is it legal? That
- 24:03Speaker 2: is the question that I still come back to because
- 24:06Speaker 2: right now it's going to happen, it seems. He's on
- 24:09Speaker 2: the ballot. So does this change anything with regard to
- 24:13Speaker 2: the legality of it? Because I don't see it makes
- 24:17Speaker 2: it uglier, but I don't think it makes it illegal
- 24:20Speaker 2: unless I am missing something. To me, it's fraud.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Because you are intentionally, by this evidence, making it clear
- 24:29Speaker 4: that you are trying to confuse voters and keep them
- 24:33Speaker 4: from making the choice that they would make, but for
- 24:37Speaker 4: the confusion of someone of the same name on the ballot.
- 24:40Speaker 4: What they had tried to argue in the past was, well,
- 24:43Speaker 4: there's no evidence that we organized this and there was
- 24:47Speaker 4: no evidence of intent. Based on the text messages, based
- 24:51Speaker 4: on the emails, based on all the interviews, they talked
- 24:54Speaker 4: to 12 people involved in this campaign. I think it
- 24:58Speaker 4: would be impossible to argue that the direct intent is
- 25:01Speaker 4: not to confuse voters in Alaska and, again, in a highly...
- 25:08Speaker 4: close contest buck it could come down to five or
- 25:12Speaker 4: six thousand people clicking the wrong person now all of
- 25:17Speaker 4: you out there listening to us in alaska you need
- 25:19Speaker 4: to be hyper aware when you go in but if
- 25:22Speaker 4: you remember buck back in the day of the butterfly
- 25:25Speaker 4: ballot in palm beach county In Florida in 2000, the
- 25:30Speaker 4: way that it was designed was complicated. And so many people,
- 25:36Speaker 4: if you went and looked at the data, ended up
- 25:38Speaker 4: voting against, if I remember correctly, didn't a lot of
- 25:42Speaker 4: people vote for Pat Buchanan? Wasn't he on the ballot
- 25:46Speaker 4: in Florida back in the day and he did it?
- 25:49Speaker 4: insanely better in Palm Beach County. I don't even think
- 25:52Speaker 4: it was voting.
- 25:53Speaker 2: You were like 30 with a house. I was in
- 25:55Speaker 2: grammar school, so I don't remember.
- 25:56Speaker 4: I feel like it was Palm Beach County. It wasn't
- 25:59Speaker 4: even that the votes did not go to George W.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Bush.
- 26:03Speaker 4: It was that I feel like maybe Pat Buchanan was
- 26:05Speaker 4: running as an independent on some of these ballots. And
- 26:08Speaker 4: if you looked at the data in Palm Beach County
- 26:11Speaker 4: where the butterfly ballot was, there were way more people
- 26:14Speaker 4: who were voting for Pat Buchanan than you would ever
- 26:16Speaker 4: have anticipated. And it matters when the races are super close.
- 26:20Speaker 4: The margin of error is implicated in that way. And
- 26:25Speaker 4: so I think all of this is going to lead
- 26:30Speaker 4: to a significant investigation. Here's the problem, Buck. Six days
- 26:33Speaker 4: till the election. Six days until the election, this comes out.
- 26:39Speaker 4: So I don't know to what extent there could be
- 26:42Speaker 4: an action undertaken. It may be that we wait and
- 26:46Speaker 4: see what the actual result is. I hope that Alaskans
- 26:49Speaker 4: go vote for the real Dan Sullivan. But if we
- 26:53Speaker 4: end up in a situation where the margin of error
- 26:56Speaker 4: is such that the votes for the other Dan Sullivan
- 26:59Speaker 4: may have swung the race back to him, that is
- 27:03Speaker 4: significant to monitor.
- 27:04Speaker 2: I would also point this out, Buck.
- 27:07Speaker 4: This is a direct result of a multi-year campaign by
- 27:10Speaker 4: Democrats to confuse Alaskans. Ranked choice voting is what makes
- 27:15Speaker 4: this possible. So they can try and intentionally get somebody
- 27:19Speaker 4: named Dan Sullivan on the ballot because of the way
- 27:23Speaker 4: ranked choice voting works in many different states out there.
- 27:27Speaker 4: You would have a Democrat, you would have a Republican candidate,
- 27:30Speaker 4: but you wouldn't be in this situation where you're having
- 27:33Speaker 4: to rank all of your different candidates and end up
- 27:36Speaker 4: in a situation that is incredibly complicated. So I just
- 27:41Speaker 4: think it's important for us and for all of you
- 27:43Speaker 4: to be sharing with your friends and family in Alaska. Hey,
- 27:47Speaker 4: you need to be very careful. Bring your glasses.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Zoom in.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Sometimes the writing on the ballots can be tough. Make
- 27:54Speaker 4: sure he is noted as the incumbent. The real Dan
- 27:58Speaker 4: Sullivan is listed as an incumbent. Make sure that you
- 28:02Speaker 4: are clicking on the correct Dan Sullivan. But I think
- 28:05Speaker 4: this is fraud. And I think there is a legitimate argument.
- 28:09Speaker 4: that could be out there that down the line there
- 28:13Speaker 4: might be an investigation, Department of Justice, into exactly what happened.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Look, I'm sure if they lose, I'm sure the Trump
- 28:19Speaker 2: DOJ is going to look into this, and maybe they
- 28:21Speaker 2: will come up with it. But doesn't fraud require a
- 28:27Speaker 2: lie of some kind? They're not lying. They're kind of
- 28:32Speaker 2: taking advantage of people's confusion, but they're not lying. Do
- 28:38Speaker 2: you see what I'm saying?
- 28:39Speaker 4: Well, I think they may have lied about how he
- 28:41Speaker 4: ended up on the ballot.
- 28:43Speaker 2: So they have said they might have lied in the
- 28:45Speaker 2: process of defending this or that. Well, that's a different.
- 28:47Speaker 2: They may have purged themselves for sure.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Potentially as part of the investigation into this, because what
- 28:52Speaker 4: The New York Times uncovered is they're still saying we
- 28:55Speaker 4: had nothing to do with this. And there's actually substantial
- 28:58Speaker 4: evidence that they did. When I look at fraud and
- 29:02Speaker 4: I'm talking fraud. Big picture. I'm not looking at the
- 29:04Speaker 4: specific fraud statutes in Alaska or any particular Department of
- 29:09Speaker 4: Justice federal fraud statute. The intent is what I focus on.
- 29:14Speaker 4: The intent is to confuse and lead people to make
- 29:18Speaker 4: a choice that they otherwise would not have made. What
- 29:21Speaker 4: this article demonstrates is the intent is clearly there. So
- 29:27Speaker 4: you raise a good question about how exactly the language
- 29:30Speaker 4: of a fraud statute would be applied here. But to me,
- 29:34Speaker 4: if you're trying to get people to inaccurately and inadvertently
- 29:39Speaker 4: vote for someone different than their intent, and that is
- 29:42Speaker 4: your goal, and you have explicitly said it, to me,
- 29:46Speaker 4: that feels like fraud.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Didn't the Democrats go after somebody for, uh, like a,
- 29:53Speaker 2: like a tweet when Hillary was running against Trump? Do
- 29:57Speaker 2: you know what I'm talking about?
- 29:58Speaker 4: Oh, I mean, yeah, it was a, uh, It was
- 30:00Speaker 4: a meme mocking Hillary Clinton. I think the guy was convicted.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Yes. And he was like, no, it was a joke.
- 30:07Speaker 2: And they decided, well, sorry, it was voting.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Yeah, the goal was to confuse people. And it was
- 30:14Speaker 4: far less of a confusing situation. It's a good callback.
- 30:18Speaker 4: But it was far less of a confusing situation. And there,
- 30:21Speaker 4: the actual goal buck to me seemed to be clearly
- 30:25Speaker 4: to be humorous, right, as most memes are. as opposed
- 30:31Speaker 4: to actually diverting the voting process.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Yeah, they said he had a Twitter audience of 58,000 people,
- 30:40Speaker 2: I'm looking this up right now, and said Mackey told
- 30:45Speaker 2: people to vote via text, and supporters of presidential candidate
- 30:51Speaker 2: Hillary Clinton vote via text or social media. knowing that
- 30:56Speaker 2: that was invalid. He said it was a joke. They
- 31:00Speaker 2: sent him to prison.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:01Speaker 2: No, he was convicted. I remember this story. Wow. Yeah.
- 31:07Speaker 4: That's why, to me, intent matters. I think intent matters
- 31:12Speaker 4: in all facets of life and a lot of times.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Seven months in prison. The guy had 58,000 Twitter followers.
- 31:19Speaker 2: I don't even think one single person... Was fooled by
- 31:23Speaker 2: this necessarily. Did they prove that at trial? I think
- 31:25Speaker 2: they just said it could have been. And that's wild.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Seven months in prison for that?
- 31:30Speaker 4: So, I mean, my point on this is if they
- 31:32Speaker 4: prosecuted that, this is far more intentional in its desire
- 31:37Speaker 4: to get people to vote differently. By that standard, I
- 31:40Speaker 4: think this would certainly be criminal. Look, we've got a
- 31:44Speaker 4: lot of friends out there doing a lot of great work.
- 31:47Speaker 4: in the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. They have
- 31:51Speaker 4: stood up for businesses burned, city halls overtaken, synagogues ransacked
- 31:55Speaker 4: in Paris. You know that the election happened yesterday. As
- 31:59Speaker 4: we talked about on the program, it does not appear
- 32:01Speaker 4: that there is going to be a definitive result, so
- 32:04Speaker 4: we still don't know who is going to be the
- 32:06Speaker 4: next leader of Israel. But we do know anti-Semitic attacks
- 32:10Speaker 4: are at high levels in Europe and around the globe
- 32:13Speaker 4: and including Israel.
- 32:15Speaker 2: In the United States.
- 32:16Speaker 4: We shouldn't wait until the danger gets worse to stand
- 32:19Speaker 4: with people of the Jewish faith. The fellowship is helping
- 32:22Speaker 4: Jewish families in France move to Israel, providing resettlement assistance,
- 32:26Speaker 4: strengthening security at Jewish institutions. They've helped more than 10,000
- 32:31Speaker 4: French Jews make the move to Israel since 2015. You
- 32:35Speaker 4: can stand with the Jewish people today. Donate to the
- 32:38Speaker 4: International Fellowship of Christians and Jews because standing against anti-Semitism
- 32:43Speaker 4: isn't just about France or Israel. It's also about standing
- 32:46Speaker 4: for truth here in the United States. Visit their website, giveifcj.org.
- 32:53Speaker 4: That's the word give and the letters ifcj.org.
- 33:00Speaker 2: The Clay and Buck Show.
- 33:02Speaker 5: Smart.
- 33:03Speaker 6: Fun.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Sane.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Just the way you'd expect it.
- 33:07Speaker 4: Welcome back in, Clay and Buck. We are rolling through
- 33:10Speaker 4: the Wednesday edition of the program. Lots of great guests.
- 33:13Speaker 4: We are talking about the battleground races all over the country.
- 33:17Speaker 4: And we got some people who want to weigh in.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Ron in Texas, you were at one of the rallies
- 33:22Speaker 4: last night in Texas. What was the vibe?
- 33:24Speaker 2: What was it like?
- 33:24Speaker 1: Oh, it was great. I was in Corpus and Duff.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Joshua Nungere's mom showed a real emotional moment. The woman
- 33:33Speaker 1: was killed by the illegals in Houston. She spoke. The
- 33:38Speaker 1: place was holding back tears. Unreal. But I got to
- 33:44Speaker 1: thinking afterwards, Tallarico is obsessed with trains issues. Why does
- 33:50Speaker 1: that qualify him to be in office, in any office?
- 33:54Speaker 1: All he talks about is that.
- 33:57Speaker 2: It's creepy.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 2: It is. I agree completely. I mean, I would say
- 34:04Speaker 2: he may identify as a senator, but that doesn't make
- 34:08Speaker 2: it so. So we'll see. No doubt. All right. We
- 34:12Speaker 2: got a couple more locks in West Palm Beach. Fire away.
- 34:17Speaker 6: Yeah, Clay, I want to say to you that for
- 34:20Speaker 6: the last couple of weeks, I heard you vote shaming
- 34:23Speaker 6: us to go and vote. Man, normally I don't vote early,
- 34:25Speaker 6: but yesterday I went across the block. And two years ago,
- 34:29Speaker 6: I called and I talked to Buck about his red
- 34:32Speaker 6: bib with Jesse Kelly when Barack Obama came on and
- 34:36Speaker 6: said black guys should vote for the Democrats. And I
- 34:41Speaker 6: still haven't seen anything with Buck with his red bib.
- 34:44Speaker 4: Yeah, didn't you lose a bet relating to red locks?
- 34:48Speaker 4: Thank you for getting your vote in. I'm glad the
- 34:50Speaker 4: shaming worked. And for reminding me that Buck may have
- 34:53Speaker 4: welched on this bet. No, no, no.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on. Locks, you are correct.
- 34:58Speaker 5: I lost.
- 34:59Speaker 2: This was part of the Buck Island controversy. Jesse Kelly
- 35:03Speaker 2: said that there was no way that Biden could make
- 35:05Speaker 2: it all the way through as the nominee. So just
- 35:07Speaker 2: like my bet with Clay. Now, obviously, you all saw
- 35:09Speaker 2: the video. I paid off my Clay bet. Jesse Kelly,
- 35:12Speaker 2: instead of going for the world's most expensive steak or
- 35:14Speaker 2: one of them, wanted an all expense paid trip to
- 35:18Speaker 2: Red Lobster. But I also have to put a lobster
- 35:21Speaker 2: bib on him at Red Lobster. I am waiting for
- 35:25Speaker 2: him to be in the same proximity of the United
- 35:27Speaker 2: States as me and make his request for a Red
- 35:30Speaker 2: Lobster outing. I have not. I will absolutely take Jesse
- 35:34Speaker 2: Kelly to Red Lobster. He won that bet. But, Lox,
- 35:37Speaker 2: thank you for reminding a few million people that I
- 35:39Speaker 2: now have to make good on my Red Lobster bet.
- 35:41Speaker 2: I totally forgot about that bet. He's totally correct. It
- 35:42Speaker 2: had not been paid off.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Maybe to reach out some of you to Jesse Kelly
- 35:46Speaker 4: and remind him that he needs to hold Buck's feet
- 35:49Speaker 4: to the fire on this bet that has yet.
- 35:52Speaker 2: To be made. I don't know if we can do
- 35:53Speaker 2: all-you-can-eat shrimp, though. Inflation, there's a lot going on right now.
- 35:58Speaker 2: It's expensive. All right.
- 36:01Speaker 4: I'm going to shame everybody, Buck, to finish the program.
- 36:04Speaker 4: Go vote until you have. Buck and I are better
- 36:08Speaker 4: Americans than you.
- 36:10Speaker 2: You heard.
- 36:11Speaker 4: From Mike Rogers in Michigan, from John Husted in Ohio,
- 36:15Speaker 4: those turnout numbers are great. They are very similar to 2022.
- 36:21Speaker 4: If we can put up numbers similar to 2022 or
- 36:26Speaker 4: 2024 in both of those states, we have a very,
- 36:29Speaker 4: very good chance of winning. And that is true everywhere.
- 36:33Speaker 4: President Trump going to be in Ohio. Hopefully that will
- 36:35Speaker 4: get a lot of people out. Texas waking up, continue
- 36:38Speaker 4: to flood the ballots there.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Florida, the same.
- 36:41Speaker 4: My home state of Tennessee, I rallied last night with
- 36:44Speaker 4: Marsha Blackburn. She is going to be the next governor
- 36:47Speaker 4: of Tennessee with Ennis Cantor and also with Glenn Jacobs, a.k.a.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Kane, from WWE.
- 36:53Speaker 5: It was awesome.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Go vote.
