- 0:00Hey, everybody, it's Jeff. We wanted to let you know we recorded
- 0:02this Table Talk interview and show on Monday, March eighteenth, twenty twenty four.
- 0:07So by the time you hear this, some things may have changed here
- 0:09there, but we hope you enjoyed the show. All right, everybody,
- 0:37you are listening to Table Talk here at the Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show,
- 0:41the longest running weekly Philly sports podcast show in the world. That's right close
- 0:45to eleven year strong. April is our eleven year anniversary. We've got a
- 0:49great discussion coming your way here on Table Talk, a great interview about this
- 0:54Philadelphia Eagles team this offseason, but more specifically, how the philosophy of this
- 1:00this team may actually be changing right before our eyes. Of course, we've
- 1:03seen a lot of different moves, we've seen some retirements. For sure,
- 1:07it's going to be a different team as we know in twenty twenty four twenty
- 1:11twenty five season. It's really going to be interesting to see what these new
- 1:15acquisitions bring to the table, some new old acquisitions as well, and what
- 1:21this NFL Draft is going to possibly look like for the Eagles as well.
- 1:23So we got a great discussion. Let's get right to it, and it
- 1:26is great to have back on the podcast. We love having him on and
- 1:30he has certainly been a busy guy in terms of following and covering what's been
- 1:36happening with this Eagles offseason. One of the longest tenured beat reporters covering this
- 1:41Eagles team from a fan nation Eagles Today, we have got the one and
- 1:47only eggcratz Ed buddy, how are you, my friend? Yeah? Great,
- 1:51Jeff. You know, like you said, kind of hopping with all
- 1:53these Eagles moves that came out swinging in a free agency and they're still swinging.
- 2:00Where this team is going in terms of a philosophical standpoint in terms of
- 2:05like a change in direction for sure. But ed before we get into that
- 2:09aspect of the conversation here, I was hoping that we could get into a
- 2:14couple of former Philadelphia Eagles players who you covered during your entire career as an
- 2:20Eagles beat reporter, and I'm talking about one Fletcher Cox and Jason Kelsey.
- 2:25I mean, I'm still kind of coming down from the fact that these guys
- 2:29are not going to be in an Eagles uniform on the field this coming season
- 2:32and have been such a large part of our Philadelphia Eagles lives for well over
- 2:38a decade here, and we know what they've meant to the team, what
- 2:42they've meant to the city of Philadelphia. But I was hoping ed, if
- 2:46you don't mind, I was hoping you might be able to maybe share a
- 2:47personal story about each of them, something that you're always going to remember about
- 2:52them in the locker room. You know, perhaps you know how they showed
- 2:55their character, because we know that they are too high character type of guys
- 2:59from everything that's been reported over the years. So do you have a couple
- 3:02of stories you wouldn't mind sharing with us? Yeah, you know, and
- 3:06thanks for bringing those two guys up, Jeff, because you know, it
- 3:08almost feels like two years ago that they left. I mean, with all
- 3:12the stuff that's been going on, it's like, oh, you gotta forget.
- 3:15Oh you know that we lost Jason Kelcey and Fletcher Cox, and you
- 3:20know, those are two really big losses. You can bring in all the
- 3:23players you want, which how he's trying to do it seems, but you
- 3:27know, you won't find, in my opinion, anybody to replace Jason Kelcey
- 3:31and Fletcher Cox what they meant to this organization for like you said, over
- 3:35a decade. I mean Kelsey came in twenty eleven, Cox came in twenty
- 3:38twelve, and they were players. Will Cox as the Player of the Decade
- 3:45voted by the NFL. And Kelsey, of course is just a legendary figure
- 3:49in the Philadelphia history. Fans love him. Yeah, Mike Kelsey. You
- 3:53know, thinking on Kelsey, it was just an easy guy to talk to
- 3:59and you could just talk to him about anything. Really. You know,
- 4:02there were times when he didn't want to talk and you know, maybe the
- 4:08team wasn't doing well or anything like that, but more or less, he
- 4:11was an easy guy to just approach to talk to. We talked about center.
- 4:15My son played center, yeah, high school football, and you know,
- 4:18we went through all that. And I remember watching an episode if It's
- 4:21Always Sunny in Philadelphia where Jason Kelsey. I think it was after they won
- 4:26the Super Bowl and bo Allen and him appeared in an episode together and bow
- 4:30Allan didn't say anything, he just kind of stood there. So I watched
- 4:33that episode. A few years later, my daughter got me into that show
- 4:38and I said went up to I said, Jason, I said, I
- 4:40just watched that episode with you and it's always sunny Philadelphia. I said,
- 4:44bow Down didn't say anything. What was his role? And he said,
- 4:47bo Allen couldn't remember his lines. He goes, we tried, but he
- 4:50just couldn't remember what he had to say. So I found that funny.
- 4:56And then those are two guys that are good friends from my understanding too.
- 4:59Yeah, yeah, but it was just funny because Boe couldn't remember his lines.
- 5:03He probably had like two of them, right, So you know that's
- 5:11that was funny. That's something I remember. And then also with Jason just
- 5:15I remember going to a road game somewhere, I don't remember where it was,
- 5:17but the visitor locker rooms are always cramped, uh not enough, not
- 5:23all out of room. You're tripping over pads and you know, equipment guys
- 5:26are trying to get stuff in and out of the locker room. And I
- 5:29remember seeing Kelsey have his knee unwrapped by a couple of trainers. They had
- 5:32to help him into his chair inside that visitor's locker room and they start unwrapping
- 5:38his leg and I'm watching, well, all this is going on, and
- 5:43the rap comes off and his leg is literally black. I mean just just
- 5:46looked like it had been in a fire and it was charred, and he
- 5:50had just played that game, and I'm looking at him like that, that
- 5:54leg looks like he needs to be amputated or something. It just does not
- 5:57look right. But he played, and he played the next week, and
- 6:00he played the rest of the year. I mean, that's the kind of
- 6:02toughness Kelsey delivered. I mean, he started what one hundred and fifty plus
- 6:06games, hadn't missed the start since the middle of twenty fourteen. And he
- 6:12plays a position where there's everything, you know, both sides, you had
- 6:15players coming at you. So him to play through that and there were other
- 6:20aches and pains, no doubt for Jason Kelsey to me was just I was
- 6:25so blown away by the fact that I couldn't believe what I was seeing,
- 6:29and then having seen him play, that will always stick with me. I
- 6:33don't remember what the injury was, but the leg literally was just black and
- 6:38it just didn't look like he could stand on it, and they helped him
- 6:41up. He took him into the back into the training room. So that's
- 6:46something. And then Fletcher just the way he carried himself in the locker room,
- 6:49and you know, off the field and just a leader, you know,
- 6:54just the way he walked so proud through that locker room, and players
- 6:57you could see just looked up to that guy. Yeah, you know Cox,
- 7:00You know, he was all business day in and day out. He
- 7:03was all about the grind, took it very seriously. But then I would
- 7:08see him at like some of these Jason Kelcey celebrity bar attending events down in
- 7:12Sea Isle, Fletcher would show up and he was like a completely different guy.
- 7:15It looked like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He just
- 7:18looked like a kid again. And he was having fun at this event,
- 7:21and you know, the business part was behind him, you know, the
- 7:26season was behind him, and he was relaxed and having fun and loose,
- 7:30and you know, talking to him, he was just a different person in
- 7:32terms of that, Like he just was away from that grind because he brought
- 7:36it every single day in practice, barely hardly missed any games too, just
- 7:40like Kelsey six entire career, I think two last year. Yeah, yes,
- 7:45just another tough player. But I loved watching him in that locker room.
- 7:48Just the leadership that he exuded, you could see it, you know,
- 7:53and and that went a long way with some of these young players,
- 7:55and both those guys are going to be so missed inside that locker room,
- 7:59and it's to be weird not seeing them there, you know. Yeah,
- 8:03And like I said, you can bring in all the talent you want,
- 8:05but the Eagles are gonna have to find a way to make up for this
- 8:09leadership and for what Kelsey and Cox meant in that locker room. Absolutely,
- 8:13and let's get into this offseason here, ed, because I've found it fascinating
- 8:18thus far. You know, I've I've mentioned how you know, I didn't
- 8:20think there was any way Saquon Barkley was gonna be a part of this team.
- 8:24There's no way the Eagles are spending, you know, over four million
- 8:26dollars on one running back. Boy certainly proved me wrong. So as we
- 8:31are getting into this off season here, I'm hoping that you may be able
- 8:35to kind of shed some light into the direction that the Eagles front office is
- 8:39going in here during the off season here, I mean, two years ago,
- 8:43they make it to the Super Bowl. This past year, it looks
- 8:46like they'd possibly return. We're having a decent season only to have one of
- 8:50the worst collapses an Eagles team has ever seen, and now the head coach
- 8:54has a new offensive coordinator, a new defensive coordinator here, So how is
- 8:58the front office viewing this offseason from a philosophical standpoint in terms of, you
- 9:03know, perhaps some of the you know, retooling, I hate to use
- 9:07certain words. You know, they're certainly not rebuilding, biting stretch of the
- 9:09imagination, but so maybe retooling and how that may look in future years as
- 9:15well. Yeah, listen, there's no reset, there's no take a year
- 9:18off. Let's reload this thing. You know, the Eagles are all in
- 9:22every single year. It seems they feel like they have a chance, and
- 9:26they were stung by the way last season ended, losers of six out of
- 9:31seven after being ten and one. You know, just an epic collapse as
- 9:35far as I'm concerned. You know that that should not happen. And the
- 9:39fact that Sirianni still has his job is a bit of a surprise to me.
- 9:41But you know, they brought in a whole new coaching staff more or
- 9:46less. I mean, there's some guys, some holdovers. Jeff Stotlin obviously,
- 9:50you know, your offensive line coach, and you know they still have
- 9:52some coaches in place, but they replaced both coordinators, and they did it
- 9:56with experienced coordinators. Last year they and Sean Decai as a defensive guy,
- 10:01it only had one year experience as the de coordinator. They promote Brian Johnson,
- 10:05who had never been an offensive coordinator. This year they bring in Kellen
- 10:09Moore, and it starts there, really, Jeff, with the coaches.
- 10:13You know, new coaches, Kellen Moore experienced oc Vick Fangio's got thirty five
- 10:18plus years as a coach in the NFL, has been a defensive coordinator for
- 10:24years and years. So it's completely opposite than what they did last year.
- 10:28And then they talk about the players. I mean, you know, they
- 10:31have money to spend. That's the key. The explosion of the salary cap
- 10:35in this offseason, to me, is the reason you've seen a lot of
- 10:39these teams adding talent because they had more money to spend. Last year,
- 10:43the Eagles went into the free agency period and they didn't have any money really
- 10:46yeah, and they had all these guys that they had to try to get
- 10:50deals done with, and they had to let a lot of guys go,
- 10:52like TJ. Edwards and ky Zier White and Miles Sanders and Isaac Camalu and
- 10:56the list goes on and on. Because they couldn't have forward to re up
- 11:00these guys. They made a couple of decisions on Bradbury and Slay bring them
- 11:03back, but they lost CJ. Cardner Johnson. They wanted to bring him
- 11:07back, but they just didn't have the money. So I think that's kind
- 11:09of what you're seeing is they have the money, they took some swings,
- 11:15and they're certainly not going to take a back seat. They want to go
- 11:16all in like they do every year, to try to make a good,
- 11:20strong Super Bowl push. And that's what you're saying. Yeah, absolutely,
- 11:22I think it's been interesting watching the I guess I'm gonna say retooling, you
- 11:28know, retooling of this Eagles defense during this free agency period with various acquisitions.
- 11:35I mean after the end of last season. I mean there was such
- 11:37a need all over the defensive side of the ball to find new talent.
- 11:39You mentioned the loss of TJ. Edwards, which I think was absolutely huge
- 11:43last year. I mean the middle of the field. I mean there were
- 11:46just wide receivers and tight ends on opposing teams just killing them on intermediate intermediate
- 11:52routes throughout the course of the season. BG he's coming back, and we
- 11:58know it's going to be his last year. Bryce Huff, He's going to
- 12:01be joining BG on that defensive line. I cannot wait to see what he's
- 12:05going to be bringing to the table. And then you mentioned CJ. Gardner
- 12:07Johnson him coming back to the team too at a safety position. So it's
- 12:13so desperately neat in terms of talent. Zach bond or In Burke's two linebackers
- 12:18that were signed as well, not too sure how they're going to fit in.
- 12:20It seems to be a lot of thought possibly behind the scenes, that
- 12:26Kobe Dean is going to be the guy moving forward really in the center of
- 12:28the field there. So do you think we're still going to see a front
- 12:31office philosophy of building strictly in the trenches as we're moving forward given these defensive
- 12:37changes here, or you know, might we see something different as the off
- 12:41season progresses here? Ed? Yeah, you know, that's what they value
- 12:45is the trenches. But you know how he did say out at the combine
- 12:48in Indianapolis said, hey, you know, we have a young defensive line
- 12:50now with Fletcher gow retiring, you know, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis,
- 12:54Milton Williams, Maro Ojomo. These are young guys, so they bring in
- 13:00a veteran. I'm not so sure though, I don't know what's out there
- 13:03in the free agent market to bring in, you know, as a defensive
- 13:07veteran. But they really loaded up on the edges, you know, bringing
- 13:11Josh sweatback on a one year, ten million dollar deal kind of a surprise
- 13:15to me. After giving giving him permission to seek a trade. Hassan Reddick
- 13:18still out there trying to find a trade partner. But now you look at
- 13:22the edge, you know, he added Bryce Huffa you mentioned, and a
- 13:26sending player. They hope that he can build on that ten sax season he
- 13:30had with the Jets last year. Former undrafted free agent, so he plays
- 13:33with that forever chip on his shoulder. Sold shoulder for being an undrafted free
- 13:39agent. You know, when you have Brandon Graham, I have Josh Sweat.
- 13:43You know, they've they've done a lot on that edge to build that
- 13:48up and that's still kind of a you know, a big priority for them.
- 13:50So what we've seen, you know, we talked about Saquon that was
- 13:56kind of a departure. Obviously, you mentioned that last year they had like
- 14:00four guys that were playing for less than ten million dollars, and now they
- 14:03have one guy. So when they go out and they sign him, you
- 14:05think, well, you know, maybe this whole new idea is concept that
- 14:09they introduced when they said we're bringing Kellen Moore in too, hopefully bring some
- 14:11new ideas to this stagnant offense that we got stuck in last year. You
- 14:16think, oh, well, maybe it'll trickle up. And then they sign
- 14:20Saque and you think, yeah, that's a departure from the receis now what
- 14:24happens at linebacker, But we're still seeing that same one year approach. Jack
- 14:30Nicobe Dean will be counted on. But they bring in Devin White, who
- 14:33was benched last year. He's at a crossroads of his career, a former
- 14:37fifth overall pick in the draft, he's twenty six years old. If he
- 14:41can figure it out, if he can play a little bit more disciplined under
- 14:43Vic Fangio, maybe they found something there. They bring in, like you
- 14:46said, Warren Burks, and they bring in Zach Bonn, who might even
- 14:52be a pass rusher. He might be kind of an edge guy, and
- 14:56then they added Julian Aquara, a guy that kind of went on the futures,
- 15:00reserved guys starting experience with the Detroit Lions, so you know they are
- 15:05bolstering it. I think they're going to add a linebacker in the first two
- 15:09days of the draft. We know they never do it on the first day.
- 15:11Yeah, but I think on the second day they have two picks,
- 15:16right, they have two second rounders, so I think, you know,
- 15:18they might take a young linebacker there and see where they can go with him.
- 15:24But yeah, and as far as the back end, the safety,
- 15:28I think that addition of CJ. Gordner Johnson makes the most sense to me
- 15:31of all the moves he made. He was a guy, a playmaker six
- 15:35interceptions, tied for the league lead when he was here. Last time,
- 15:39he got hurt, missed five games, and that's a worry with him.
- 15:41He only played three games last year with the Lions. He tore his peck
- 15:45muscle, made it back for the playoffs. But he's a playmaker when he's
- 15:48healthy and he gives that back. Then I have Sidney Brown who can kind
- 15:52of come back when he's ready after that ACL tear, and you have red
- 15:56Blankenship and you're probably going to get another guy. You're probably gonna want to
- 16:00bring somebody else in at that position. And I don't know where it comes
- 16:03from. Maybe it comes in free agency, maybe it comes in the draft,
- 16:07but yeah, they seem to be willing to kind of depart a little
- 16:11bit from their old ways of let's build through the trench as it started with
- 16:15Barkley on the offense. Yep, And we could see it if they draft
- 16:18the linebacker, you knows, hey, let's get a guy in here that
- 16:21we can hopefully develop for four years. Yeah. Absolutely. My concern right
- 16:26now with where the linebacker position is ed is the fact that Vic Fangio's defense,
- 16:32what we've seen for years with cover six defense is that safeties and linebackers
- 16:37just need to cover in open space. They need to Devin White just does
- 16:41not seem to be that type of guy. He's been in the league now
- 16:42for a little while. And yes, his pursuit of the ball is great,
- 16:48it's fantastic in terms of coverage in a Cover six. I just don't
- 16:52know if he's going to necessarily be the guy who went out there on the
- 16:55field as well as who knows where it's gonna happen with Kobe Dean. I'm
- 16:57a little worried about the live position, like you. I think that really
- 17:00could be addressed early on in the draft. Yeah, and you know,
- 17:04you wonder if Julian Aquara can do it. I think Zach Bond, not
- 17:08Zach wan oron Burke's I think he's got a bit of a reputation for being
- 17:12a coverage guy. So yeah, I mean, I think you'll see that
- 17:18and CJ could play down close to the line of scrimmage and take guys coming
- 17:22out of the slot, you know, if need be. So you know,
- 17:25I think they'll have some versatility there and they'll have some options and then
- 17:29they'll start sifting through those options once camp starts, and Barren Burks could be
- 17:33the guy. I don't know. You're right about Devin White. I don't
- 17:37think he's known as a big coverage guy. But you know who is Peyton
- 17:38Wilson from North Carolina State who's sitting in the draft. Good coverage guy.
- 17:44Maybe he's the guy they go with in the second round. But you're right,
- 17:47that's kind of Fansy his way, as he likes to have coverage linebackers
- 17:49in space. Yep, safety's cover in space and do they have enough at
- 17:55this point? I don't think so. But listen, we're one week into
- 17:59the free agency, sat right, They've got months to get this thing right
- 18:03exactly exactly. I mean, this is all a good segue into, you
- 18:07know, the fact that it does feel like the draft is going to be
- 18:10here before we know it, ed And I do wonder with all the trades
- 18:14that we have seen, how we make year after year with regard to you
- 18:18know, giving away this draft pick for this talent. We so of course
- 18:22saw the move to secure A J. Brown as well on Draft Day.
- 18:26How do you think they're going to approach this upcoming draft in terms of the
- 18:30amount of picks and can we anticipate do you think some movement or a lot
- 18:36of movement perhaps like we have seen year after year. What are your thoughts
- 18:40about this upcoming draft philosophy? Yeah, you know, has Son Reddick has
- 18:44really wanted to keep an eye on. I just I'm not sure there's a
- 18:47path back for him at this stage. I really don't. You know,
- 18:49they have bolstered the edge a little bit. You know, maybe they go
- 18:53for another guy in the draft, maybe in the first round. Again,
- 18:57that's the premium. The line D line is where they like to spend those
- 19:00picks. Maybe they go to the cornerback. They could probably use a cornerback
- 19:06to come in here. You know, I know they have some young guys
- 19:07that like Keey Ringo who might play a role. Eli Rix, Zach McPherson
- 19:12will be back. He tours ACL last summer, so you know, I
- 19:17know they got shorthanded in the slot last year. And you wonder about Avonte
- 19:19Maddox. You know, somebody that is still out there. You know,
- 19:23could he come back at some point before the draft. But Hassan Reddick,
- 19:27to me, Jeff is someone to keep an eye on. You know,
- 19:30they lost the third round pick when they traded back twenty two spots to get
- 19:33Kenny Pickett, the quarterback. You know, maybe let Hassan Reddick go for
- 19:40a third round pick. I hate that. I don't think that's good value.
- 19:44But he is thirty, he's once twenty two million dollars a year minimum.
- 19:48Probably if you get a team that'll give you a third and maybe some
- 19:52change, you know, some loose change, you know, in the next
- 19:53year's draft or wherever. Maybe you got to do it, and you land
- 19:57that third round pick that you parted with to acquire Kenny Pickett. So to
- 20:02me, I would keep an eye on him as a possibility to be dealt
- 20:06at some point, either during a draft or in the days leading up to
- 20:08the draft. Again, folks, we are talking to Ed Kratz from Eagles
- 20:15Today Fan Nation. Fantastic content. Always follow him on Twitter slash x at
- 20:21Kratz e He is a great, great follow And as we're finishing up here,
- 20:25Ed, I wanted to talk about one gentleman in particular because he certainly
- 20:30had an up and down season in the twenty twenty three twenty twenty four season,
- 20:33and that is one Jalen Hurts. And as we know, the quarterback
- 20:38position probably the most important position in sports, as many have dubbed it over
- 20:42the years. I'm wondering, as you're analyzing and taking in and still you
- 20:48know a lot of us, I think are still kind of digesting what twenty
- 20:51twenty three was for this team, I'm wondering, what does Jalen Hurts really
- 20:55need to work on most this offseason based on what you saw this past season,
- 21:00based on the strengths that we saw from him and the weaknesses that we
- 21:03saw from him as well, And do you think he can perhaps get back
- 21:07to that dominant play that we saw back in the twenty twenty two season.
- 21:11What are your thoughts? Yeah, listen, I think so. I mean,
- 21:15you know, Jalen's out working hard to get better, and he always
- 21:17wants to improve. As a pro athlete, you want to get better every
- 21:19year. You know, there's always things for you to work on. If
- 21:22you're staying stagnant, then people are passing you, and Jalen's not wired that
- 21:27way. So I think he needs to obviously improve on his interceptions. He
- 21:32had way too many of them last year sixteen or seventeen. I think seventeen.
- 21:34He lost five fumbles. I mean, he just turned the ball over
- 21:37way too much over twenty times. You can't have that. So whether you're
- 21:42actually looking at other defenses, watching tape to improve, that's something I would
- 21:48be doing if I was him, is trying to find out how did I
- 21:49make this decision? Why did I throw it here? You know, try
- 21:53to cut down on those interceptions. He did that two years ago. I
- 21:56think he had six this year. You know, too many. Not all
- 22:00of them are his fault, you know, let's face it, you know,
- 22:03we saw some balls go through some receiver's hands and they're picked off.
- 22:07But you know, ultimately he is responsible for those interceptions, and he's got
- 22:11to cut down on him. He's got to take better care of the football
- 22:14when he's in the pocket. He has to be a little more aware of
- 22:17the pressure that's coming on. So, you know, I think those are
- 22:21two areas that he needs to cut down on his ball security. And then
- 22:25with the interceptions, you have to get better there and listen. I think
- 22:29he will. The Eagles brought in Kellen Moore to work with him. He's
- 22:32got a new quarterback coach, Doug Nusmeyer. I think those two guys will
- 22:36help. I think Saquon will help. You wonder, you know, is
- 22:40Jalen gonna run much? You know, will he throw the ball down to
- 22:44Saquon Barkley. I think that's another thing he has to learn, is to
- 22:45take the check down instead of trying to take off. Just throw the ball
- 22:49to the open running back underneath and let him create and try to pick up
- 22:53whatever he can. They didn't do that enough with DeAndre Swift last year.
- 22:57That was one of Swift's strengths. But I think the Eagles did a good
- 23:00job of taking advantage of it. Barkley has that same strength. I'd like
- 23:04to see him get the ball a little bit more in the past game.
- 23:07But I think Saquon's presence is really going to help Jalen open up some things
- 23:12on that RPO game. He can keep the ball, should loosen some things
- 23:17up for him to throw the ball. So they've done some They've taken some
- 23:19steps to help him be better. Now he has to do it on his
- 23:23own to get better too, and I'm sure that he is. Yeah,
- 23:27it's gonna be real interesting to watch for sure throughout this offseason. What's gonna
- 23:32happen with this Eagles team an organization again, folks. Egg Kratz from Eagles
- 23:36Today over at fan Nation, Ed, Buddy, you are so awesome for
- 23:38coming on the show consistently time and time again. I absolutely love talking to
- 23:44you. Come back join us down the road. I love what you're doing
- 23:47out there. Keep up the great work and let's talk down the road,
- 23:49my friend. Yeah, you're doing a great job too, Jeff, thanks
- 23:52a lot. I know we had to really work hard to get this thing
- 23:55put together, but we got it done and that's great and we'll keep doing
- 23:59it long as we can. It's interesting to think about where this Eagles team
- 24:03has really gone over the past few years, and by no stretch of the
- 24:07imagination should we be thinking that right now during this offseason it is somehow a
- 24:11rebuild or anything. It's not that at all. It's not even necessarily a
- 24:15retooling. Although you know, as Ed and I were talking about this defense,
- 24:18there's certainly some new talent, there's some new acquisition that we're going to
- 24:23be seeing on the field this year. So maybe from a defensive perspective,
- 24:26of course, does maybe seem like a retool But I think a philosophy of
- 24:33needing to know that you need to bring about some changes. That's what we
- 24:36have been seeing from Howie Roseman and this front office. And you know,
- 24:40I think you know, as Ed was talking about too, I think we're
- 24:41going to see that potentially with Jalen Hurts this coming season. He's going to
- 24:45continue to grow into his position. He's going to continue to grow as a
- 24:49leader. I believe. I believe that is his character. I believe that's
- 24:53the foundation of who Jalen Hurts is. That's what we have seen thus far.
- 24:57And yes, while this PAS season might not have been the best season
- 25:00for him. It may, you know, it may go down as one
- 25:03of those, you know, as we talked about on this show before,
- 25:07you know, one of the top most disappointing seasons in Eagles history, not
- 25:10just for him, but you know, for US fans as well. Jalen
- 25:12Hurts is gonna continue to mature and I can't wait to see what he's gonna
- 25:15do this coming season for sure, man. And I can't wait what's gonna
- 25:18happen with the draft when it comes to this Eagles team and what how he
- 25:22is gonna be doing. Man, it's gonna be fun. We're gonna keep
- 25:25talking about it and covering it here at the PST podcast Show. If you
