- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning. Human beings really, really suck
- 0:33at taking ownership overall. In general, human beings are
- 0:38always looking for reasons, and those reasons for whatever may
- 0:43be going on in our world doesn't matter.
- 0:46Politically, emotionally, close to you, personal, professional,
- 0:50doesn't matter. We constantly look for reasons
- 0:53why things the way they are are why things are happening the way
- 0:56they're happening. And because of that, because we
- 1:00are always seeking reasons very organically.
- 1:02That's not something that we do, you know, we have it planned,
- 1:05but it's just part of our hardwiring.
- 1:08It is in our nature. It's in our very nature to stop
- 1:12and say, well, it's because blank, blank, blank.
- 1:16And there is some part of that that makes it so that we don't
- 1:21take ownership of things and say, no, it's me.
- 1:24It's because of me. And it it shows up in our
- 1:28everyday lives constantly. And when you think about it,
- 1:34when you stop and pause and you say, OK, how many times have I
- 1:37heard other people do this? And it infuriates me.
- 1:41I listen to what they say and I'm like, just take ownership
- 1:44about it. Just you, you decide.
- 1:46You know, somebody was recently talking about and I was not,
- 1:49this was not someone I was with. I was listening to this
- 1:51conversation. We were out to eat and I was
- 1:54listening to a conversation at a table beside us because they
- 1:57were very loud and talking about how the food choices in our area
- 2:03are, you know, they're decadent. Some of them are like, you know,
- 2:07it's itself. The food is really intense.
- 2:10It's a sport here. Eating is a sport here and going
- 2:12out is available everywhere. There are tons and tons and tons
- 2:17of great restaurants. So this person was commenting
- 2:20about how the food here makes you fat.
- 2:24That's what her words were. The food makes you fat.
- 2:26Like wherever you go, the food makes you fat.
- 2:29And I was listening to this conversation in and just
- 2:33enthralled in the fact that her entire conversation was
- 2:36predicated on this belief that the food makes you fat.
- 2:41No, it's not the food. The you don't.
- 2:44You're eating the food. It's your the very act of you
- 2:47taking that and putting it in your mouth is what's making you
- 2:50fat. But she's not willing to take
- 2:53that ownership. She's saying it's what they
- 2:55serve her. And then you look down at her
- 2:59plate and she's got a bunch of things that are fried, which we
- 3:03all know fried food makes you fat.
- 3:05I mean, it, it's just it's a thing.
- 3:08And even though she's got vegetables on her plate, OK,
- 3:12those vegetables have been deep fried.
- 3:15And I'm not, you know, it was in an Asian restaurant and that's,
- 3:18you know, tempura, that's a thing.
- 3:20But it's not the food. It's the act of eating the food.
- 3:25And we have to break down the process for ourselves,
- 3:29recognizing how much we skirt the ownership based on the fact
- 3:34that we want the reason. Now, I want to be the first one
- 3:37to admit I love understanding the reasons, things happening.
- 3:41What's the cause? Let's get to the root cause, but
- 3:45fully aware that when that root cause is discovered, uncovered,
- 3:51if you will, that you have to take ownership of it.
- 3:54You have to take ownership of your participation.
- 3:57And it comes back to that phrase that I love so much.
- 4:00Participate in your own rescue. Stop looking for other people to
- 4:04rescue you. So when you are experiencing
- 4:08these overwhelming heavy emotions, is it the conditions
- 4:13of the world? It's your observation of the
- 4:17conditions of the world that are causing it and pulling you down.
- 4:22So I can observe something but not be in it.
- 4:26I can observe it, understand it, say what do I need to do to move
- 4:30forward with it? It's a, it's a point of, of
- 4:35attention that I can give to it, but I don't own it and I'm not,
- 4:39let me be very clear when I talk about this, I'm not 100% on with
- 4:44this all the time. I really subscribe to the, you
- 4:47know, 80209010 rule where I can keep things out and I can just
- 4:51keep going. So people will observe and
- 4:53they'll say things to me like, oh, wow, you're, you seem so
- 4:56strong. You can take on so much because
- 4:58I'm not making all of the overwhelm mean something.
- 5:02I'm not making it mean something.
- 5:04I'm not turning it into toxicity because I don't want that in my
- 5:07body and there's no point in it and it's not going to help me.
- 5:10But when I choose the higher belief in it, like, OK, it's
- 5:14been presented to me, I understand what has to be done.
- 5:17And of course I can handle it because if it wasn't in my
- 5:20world, you know, then I wouldn't need to handle it.
- 5:23And if it's here, then I know I have help handling it.
- 5:26That's it. That's the way I believe it.
- 5:27I believe I'm constantly connected to source, whatever
- 5:30you believe that is. And source always helps.
- 5:33So I don't need to worry about that.
- 5:35So just consider the the ownership fact and consider how
- 5:40much you're taking ownership so that you can recognize how to
- 5:44move through it with grace and some more ease.
- 5:47All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 5:49will see you tomorrow. Bye.
