- 0:40Welcome back to hamster with a blunt.
- 0:42Penknife the Doctor Who commentary podcast.
- 0:46I am here tonight with the extremely handsome.
- 0:52Charismatic, intelligent, mr. Brendan Jones.
- 0:55Hello, Brendan Hello. Who's this other person with my
- 0:59name or scratch his eyes down? What I was going to say
- 1:03incredibly sexy as well. Because I've seen some amazing
- 1:06Jim videos. Recently of you, doing some
- 1:10squats. You know, you've risen me very
- 1:14alarmingly, some mornings, you know, that Oh, a very welcome.
- 1:23I'm sure. Don't you go Coy with me?
- 1:26You're the one most of them. Hey, do I do look?
- 1:31You know, people say when it comes to, you know, Fitness or
- 1:34changing your diet or whatever your motivation should be
- 1:37intrinsic. But I say, no, if you if your
- 1:42motivation, Needs to come from people saying, hey you look
- 1:47pretty good doing that, upload the damn photos.
- 1:49If you can get your motivation you ain't motivated me at all.
- 1:54It's doing the gym but you're definitely motivated be doing
- 1:57some kind of activity, so thank you very much.
- 2:03I believe that you have recently embarked on a new venture.
- 2:10Yes. Yes, that's right.
- 2:11So, my, my friend BJ, we actually have the same nickname
- 2:17because we share the same initials, she and I have started
- 2:21a gaming podcast called the bjbj game, show you great and very
- 2:28careful about who's tuning into this.
- 2:33When I suggested the name, she did say to me, could people
- 2:35possibly take that the wrong way.
- 2:37Said, I certainly hope. So yes, Yeah, but she said, do
- 2:44it is should we ever acknowledge that?
- 2:45I'm like, no, absolutely not. That's everyone else's problem.
- 2:49But yet so we take a different sort of Indie video game every
- 2:54month we play it and a bit like a book club.
- 2:57We invite people to play along with us and send in their
- 3:00comments and thoughts on the game.
- 3:02So we've released two episodes so far, we've recorded a third
- 3:06episode and people can find us on Twitter.
- 3:09At BJ BJ game show and bjbj is filled bja y, BJ.
- 3:18Okay, bjbj game show. Yeah.
- 3:21So come along and join us for that car.
- 3:24You have to pay for get listening especially if you're a
- 3:27computer game my life not ever, what else will be able Issa?
- 3:33I think so, another regular contributor to hamster, Conrad
- 3:41has been listening, and he doesn't play video games at all.
- 3:45I mean, I'll do anything to listen to you.
- 3:47I mean, what is this taking you away from Fly for a charity?
- 3:50Because I'll tell you what, I'll miss you when you're not on
- 3:52those. No, I'm still doing.
- 3:57I think five or six of the first Capaldi season I think we've
- 4:01recorded two thirds of that. And then rather so rather
- 4:07selfishly one of us decided to go on holiday.
- 4:11And then another one of us decided to go on holiday.
- 4:13And I'm about to go on holiday, but our scheduler extraordinaire
- 4:18James has assured us that we can get everything recorded order.
- 4:24So, yeah, I think we're starting to release flight through
- 4:29entirety, for series 8 of Doctor.
- 4:32Who at the end of April, I think is the planet moment because
- 4:37when I was, people got on holiday, came in Holiday to my
- 4:40home, I did, in fact, listen to your death.
- 4:42If Episode early, I've got to say to everyone about it, it's
- 4:46fantastic. Yeah, I'm looking forward to
- 4:53hearing because I'm not on that one.
- 4:54I think I'm on. I'm on the listen.
- 4:58Oh, goody I think I want into the Dalek listen.
- 5:05I will be on Dark Water. Death in heaven, kill the moon.
- 5:08That's the other one. I'm on, ya good.
- 5:10I hope everyone's given that I like kill the moon.
- 5:13Simon. Hey, Although the fact that he
- 5:18said it wasn't about abortion as a massive bit with the screen
- 5:21that says a ball, I'll do sometimes wonder if he's missing
- 5:25the point. Anyway, what are we here today?
- 5:30What is this? Long-awaited commentary that
- 5:32we've been talking about for the last two eons?
- 5:36Yes. Yeah.
- 5:37So, where are we here today? Because I was fortunate enough
- 5:40to talk about Warriors gate with you many, many moons ago.
- 5:46And at the time we were sort of discussing Steven Gallagher's,
- 5:50working General and darker. And I kind of said to you, I,
- 5:54you know, I quite enjoy Terminus for its faults and you said,
- 5:58well why don't you come back and do Terminus?
- 6:01And, you know, then I moved house which was a whole thing.
- 6:06NG. And so now I'm back baby.
- 6:10And we're talking about what you are, you know, how the Star Trek
- 6:15movies, you know, this ghost likes or bad?
- 6:17No, get bad, good, bad, good or you know that's the general
- 6:21consensus. Well, you started with time fly
- 6:23you know, so that's not a great place to start even though your
- 6:26commentary was amazing. Then Tory is gay now to
- 6:30terminus. I mean, I'll get you back next
- 6:32for an absolute banger. Sometimes I think there's more
- 6:40to say about the flawed stories. I think you're right.
- 6:44Yeah, I think you're right. I think so.
- 6:47And sometimes it's the ones I'm utterly ambivalent about where
- 6:50there's loads that I liked and loads.
- 6:52I'm not sure about. I've done Fury from the deep
- 6:54recently and I've just still don't know what I think of that.
- 6:57I think there's great stuff in it in but it's I like some of
- 7:02it, don't chime. Yeah.
- 7:05Yeah. I mean you know it started life
- 7:07not as a doctor who story and it shows it does show.
- 7:12Yes. Indeed.
- 7:13Yeah. Well I'm going to suggest to the
- 7:16point but we have been talking nearly 10 minutes now.
- 7:19So that's not really sort of point, which we can't have said
- 7:23one. Let's start talking about this
- 7:24fabulous story. I mean I think we should.
- 7:28Okay well then hang on a second. So something is occurring.
- 7:33What's going on? Hang on you don't drink
- 7:36anything. You two could do.
- 7:38Would stop me. Do you what are you doing here?
- 7:41Ty heart. Well I couldn't miss the chance
- 7:46to talk about Terminus. Could I?
- 7:50Were you bugger off? What are you doing?
- 7:51Interrupting this. Well, it's all phrases faults
- 7:56because apparently, now Terminus is my all-time favorite best
- 7:59Doctor, Who story ever. So, I have to be here to talk
- 8:03about it. Hello, Brendan, how are you?
- 8:07Hello sty, darling. How are you low?
- 8:21Okay. Jesus Christ.
- 8:23We saw that for a wild and way we've even gone to the lengths
- 8:28of sigh posting pictures on social media of him watching
- 8:31Crossroads night as well just to fool them.
- 8:35It's deception. Goes deep baby.
- 8:37It does I'm going to count as Ian.
- 8:42Okay, I've or three two, one. Off we go now.
- 8:51Brendan, come on. Why do you like this so much?
- 8:58I, I think it is a it's a good quality script.
- 9:05And it's, it's one of those ones J, and T in the Davison era
- 9:11seems to have at least one story that almost doesn't get made.
- 9:18And it's this one this season, like the return, which became
- 9:24resurrection of the Daleks didn't get made at all this
- 9:26season, but this is the one that almost didn't get completed for
- 9:30various reasons and we'll discuss them.
- 9:33As the story goes along, but this is very much the show that
- 9:37goes wrong and for still to be as good as it is, is it's a
- 9:43testament to the writing. It's a testament to the cast and
- 9:45and Mary reach the director. And while, you know, usually I'm
- 9:51not a detractor of Jade, TS, he massively drops the ball several
- 9:55times on this one. What can I turn that on its head
- 9:58then and ask you? Why do you think people don't
- 10:01like this? Because this this is not a
- 10:03popular story. No, I think, I think part of the
- 10:08reason, people don't like this is, the design work is pretty
- 10:11drab, and it's sort of understandable, given the
- 10:16context of the story, but at the same time, you've got to create
- 10:20visual interest. Yeah, if you look at something
- 10:23like the girl who waited in the more than series which similarly
- 10:27deals with ideas of, you know, viruses and debts facilities and
- 10:32what have you? That's quite visually stunning.
- 10:36Despite some very Stark content in that so I think that's one
- 10:40reason. I think another reason is the
- 10:42long persistent rumor that the ice warriors were meant to be in
- 10:46it, but yes. And, you know, we we, as fans
- 10:52set ourselves up for disappointment and then get
- 10:54really, really cross, you know, where we get excited about
- 10:59something that we've made up. I've recently had this on
- 11:03Instagram where the BBC posted the video of Lenny, Henry and
- 11:08David Tennant for Red Nose Day and so many comments just going.
- 11:12Is this it is this it is this, it is this it and so I put up a
- 11:16comment saying, some of you are so bloody entitled, how about we
- 11:19just have nothing and then You can still complain but no one
- 11:22has to put in any effort and someone responded to be saying,
- 11:25well it was all the hype that came up.
- 11:28It's like, the hype was from fans.
- 11:30Yeah. The height, like the BBC, didn't
- 11:32go. We're having like a two-minute
- 11:35scene with David Tennant. It's like if you hype yourself
- 11:39up. Well, I think particularly with
- 11:44season 20, where there was all the publicity about something
- 11:47old coming back in every story but they didn't actually mention
- 11:52that the something old was the same in three of the stories.
- 11:55Yeah. And I think yes so you'll work
- 11:58your there figured. Well, it can't be the black
- 11:59garden because we walk we've had him already and so that's just a
- 12:03continuing friend. So what else is going to be the
- 12:06old that's coming back and Yeah, it's just sort of all there in
- 12:13the background Sy. Yes, so my question to you then
- 12:20is why do you love Terminus so much?
- 12:28I think because I've never watched it twice in two days.
- 12:33My brain is now. Oh my God.
- 12:36It's great. There's so much good and I think
- 12:38there is a lot. I think it's a really good
- 12:40script, but it's misinterpreted in the production and it needed
- 12:44to be a really huge Gothic production with a huge
- 12:51over-the-top performances because the script is going
- 12:55pushing all the characters that way and it's not played large
- 12:59enough. Not play large enough.
- 13:01Have you seen Lisa Goddard in this?
- 13:03Well, that's just her hair. Yeah, exactly.
- 13:09Well I think actually tell you what I think now as well.
- 13:12You know, because I'll do that from time to time.
- 13:14I think episode 1 is very strong, actually.
- 13:17I think it's really atmospheric and creepy.
- 13:20And the idea of this sort of Blackness encroaching the Tardis
- 13:25and Then the unusual way, we get to the leper ship and then their
- 13:31area atmosphere within the ship and then the briain Cliffhanger
- 13:35like I think not it's not just on paper I think it's really
- 13:38well directed as well on what I don't know where and what order
- 13:40they did this but I'm wondering if this will this all kind of
- 13:45was done first, because it feels like it's had a bit of time put
- 13:48into it. On the Tilted seems were done
- 13:51first. I think yes.
- 13:54Yes, Ali. Those were those were the what
- 13:57bits that I remembered from this story.
- 13:59It wasn't anything else from part. 2 onwards, it was all the
- 14:04opening scenes with the Tardis breaking up that really sat in
- 14:08my head. And then after that it was a bit
- 14:11of a blank so much so that I didn't remember there was a
- 14:13robot in it. I didn't remember much about the
- 14:17Garmin or any of those things. Really.
- 14:19So Which I think is quite telling.
- 14:26The operate, the Blue switches seen that opens the story in the
- 14:31Tardis. That was that was say, word
- 14:35filler material, but I think, I think it's A Cut Above his usual
- 14:41argument and that sort of thing. But it was because the episode
- 14:46was under running and they are Steven Gallagher.
- 14:48Hey, can you write two extra minutes?
- 14:49But he misunderstood and he wrote a whole new set of like
- 14:53Tops and Tails. Has two existing seeds and say,
- 14:56was it? No, it's like we were just like
- 15:00something on one set. Please.
- 15:02What was the original start of the story that where did it know
- 15:05where did it kick in? Originally, Nyssa.
- 15:11Sorry taking showing turlough to the room, so they just arrived
- 15:15at address room. It's like, this is your room and
- 15:19then Nyssa experimenting on our enzyme if your part we've all
- 15:24done it. And and this scene of turlough
- 15:29mucking about under the console, this was a pick up later because
- 15:33when it came time to record it, add marks recent got Down and
- 15:37open the panel J&T was up in the gallery and said to Mary Ridge.
- 15:41Oh, those aren't the right components.
- 15:43They're currently at a doctor who exhibition will have to get
- 15:45them back and they did and they did.
- 15:50Yes. Well, so she had to rearrange
- 15:52her schedule just to get. Yeah.
- 15:54Yep. When this is started on the
- 15:56first day, two hours behind straight away because there have
- 16:01been electricians work overnight and nothing was working.
- 16:06So she lost two hours. As of the first Studio day to
- 16:09begin with, and it was downhill all the way for Palmieri Ridge
- 16:13after that. Was there a distraction about?
- 16:17Yes, you was. Was there a distraction?
- 16:20I know, I know that here. Almost hit Enlightenment was
- 16:24that happening during this as well.
- 16:28Sort of what and what happened was, the Industrial action had
- 16:31already happened, so a bunch of Christmas programs.
- 16:34Hello, shades of Sharda, a bunch of Christmas programs needed
- 16:38days in the studio, so Terminus lost a day in the studio to
- 16:42them, and then the eventual remount that happens.
- 16:45Two months later was put off by about a week or so, again,
- 16:48because of a Christmas program. So this story itself wasn't hit
- 16:52by industrial action, but it was a knock on effect, feeling the
- 16:56effects. So, yeah, and depression, We it
- 16:58sort of transpires that you end up losing the Dalek story at the
- 17:01end of the season because of all of this and everything is
- 17:05recorded slightly out of order. So they do this, they do the
- 17:09first Studios of in life. No, no.
- 17:12In like they do the kings demons, then they go back and do
- 17:16Enlightenment because enlargements lost its slots.
- 17:19So that takes the Dalek story slots.
- 17:22And yeah, off you go, it's just a complete mess.
- 17:27Mmm, what I know. I think we probably will all
- 17:31agree. That Matthew Roberson directed.
- 17:33The hell out of resurrection of the Daleks.
- 17:35I would love to see more peer Greenway would have done with
- 17:37that as well. Be very quiet.
- 17:45Then I was, I was just imagining.
- 17:49I was just a bed to think what I would have been like a, my first
- 17:52thought is, you know, who, who would Peter grimwade of casters
- 17:57Litton? You know?
- 17:59Well exactly. Yes.
- 18:02It would be like when I was Adams, Dallas Adams is Lytton.
- 18:07I know, I think I'll call Fin this.
- 18:09We're bringing in. Floella Benjamin instead get
- 18:12sugar. Yes, please.
- 18:15What's the, the whole thing about that studio time, that was
- 18:18promised to marry Rich, then that never happened.
- 18:23Now that she was told by Joan see that he could have, she
- 18:27could have a two-hour overrun to get everything in the can and
- 18:31finished, and then he reneged on it.
- 18:34He turned around and said, actually no, you can't have
- 18:36that. And yet, not only that he said,
- 18:42he said that to her 15 minutes before that extra time was to
- 18:47start and she was 25 shots away from finishing.
- 18:54And she was like I can probably get this done in an hour and
- 18:58dandy just went. No, you don't have the time now
- 19:00and she was really confused because she had actually
- 19:04negotiated with all the people you have to negotiate with like
- 19:06the lighting and and set Cruz and what have you and everyone
- 19:09had agreed. So she didn't never knew why it
- 19:12suddenly went away it. We know what was it?
- 19:16Was it pressure from above? Don't know.
- 19:24Yeah. And then then, of course, it was
- 19:28the Sarah Sutton's, farewell party, Sarah something going.
- 19:33But I'm back into in two months anyway.
- 19:36Like I'm not finished, I'm not happy and apparently Davison and
- 19:40JN T had their only argument in three years really.
- 19:46Yeah, pretty much Davis and going like, this has been, this
- 19:49has been horrible for the cast because we were promised this
- 19:52extra time and we didn't get it. It's horrible for Sarah because
- 19:55she can't actually have her going-away party.
- 19:57Now, you know, and and you know John this is your
- 20:00responsibility. What a shame there, wasn't
- 20:04Doctor Who confidential back then, recording all of that.
- 20:07On a live picture that would have just added to the stress,
- 20:12which was absolutely distraught because she had never brought a
- 20:15show in Out of time, she'd always got it in even terminal,
- 20:22where the Blake's 7 episode, where they fought where David
- 20:26Maloney and said oh, she's never going to get this all done in
- 20:28time. She's got a blow up the
- 20:30Liberator at the end, all sorry spoilers.
- 20:34So don't listen Marcus. Stunningly good.
- 21:13It's just a shame like there is some atmosphere to this but I
- 21:17don't think it has like the pace of her Blake's 7 episodes and I
- 21:21or the so much of the style of it.
- 21:23So is that all just down to the pressures of the day.
- 21:31II believe. So yeah, because there were
- 21:34there were times where she was having to shoot rehearse record
- 21:41because the sets weren't properly lit during the
- 21:44designated camera rehearsal period famously with that.
- 21:50With that switch off like that day, she was meant to have extra
- 21:53time. They were recording this as
- 21:56leaving scene. But The set it was meant to take
- 22:00place on hadn't yet been lit properly so she said right we're
- 22:05going to record it in the Tardis could control room and Sarah
- 22:08Sutton and Peter Davison said it doesn't make any sense for Nyssa
- 22:10to come back into the Tardis and then go back to the ship because
- 22:14of this dimensional stability and Mary Mary's like look I I
- 22:17look good no we need to get this scene done and halfway through
- 22:23the scene is when the lights went off.
- 22:26Ah, fuck mmm. Of all the see, you know, it of
- 22:32all the scenes. And so Sara, something's are
- 22:34acting a hard out when we eventually get to her leaving
- 22:37scene, she's really crying terrific.
- 22:42It's real acting and she would have been putting in the same
- 22:45performance there and then it gets cut off and and David said
- 22:49apparently was were shouting like you know, you gets to
- 22:56record this on this set. It's not meant to be here and
- 22:58now This is not shouting at Mary Ridge, but just this isn't good
- 23:03enough kind of thing. So then did they have to come
- 23:05back and shoot for another day? Yeah.
- 23:08Oh wow. Yeah.
- 23:10You're in the entitlement Studio sessions.
- 23:13They had to do a morning or something of terminus sounds
- 23:19like bloody chaos. Did you see that seen a second
- 23:21ago, where Nyssa was walking about and the camera sort of
- 23:24lingers on her? She walks off that in that
- 23:27direction and turns around and there's that Like really scary
- 23:30electronic scream and the zoom in on her face, but I do think
- 23:34there's some atmosphere here. Yeah, totally Gallagher for the
- 23:41story was trying to evoke the Hartnell era because like Peter
- 23:46Davis and that was, you know, what was embedded in his memory
- 23:50and this first episode is very hard, you know, you've got the
- 23:53regulars, wandering around, you know, Carrie and all.
- 23:56They have just turned up in their hats, its main.
- 24:01You've got, you've got crappy all this.
- 24:05Yeah. They were
- 24:20farting. But aside from that what about
- 24:25those harms they? So this is one of the things
- 24:31that went wrong while two of the things that went wrong.
- 24:33First of all these costumes were originally made Blue by a very
- 24:39experienced. Doctor Who costume designer by
- 24:40the way and Mary ridges. Like you can't have blue.
- 24:45It is a science fiction. You can't have blue.
- 24:47We can I have blue screen so there had to be entirely remade
- 24:52in about three days in white and then the helmets when it came
- 24:58time for them to go on the set, the the special effects designer
- 25:01who designed them was there and went.
- 25:04Oh I didn't design these to be worn, they've got no air. are
- 25:06holes in them, is that when they come through, that exploding
- 25:13door, Well, also, the explosion was so big that Lisa got a let
- 25:21out an F-bomb, so and soundtrack the soundtrack was huge, that
- 25:26night as well in the studio. Yes.
- 25:31The explosion not the F, Well, maybe even as well.
- 25:38I've done Skippy and I was married to Colin Baker but
- 25:41nothing's more terrifying than this.
- 25:43I just say I don't think there's a more mannered line in the show
- 25:47than when she goes Advance party to radar.
- 25:50Come in radar. Come in its Carry an old via a
- 26:02very strange because Gallagher writes them to be sort of head
- 26:07to toe in, like leather, motorcycle outfits, and like, a
- 26:10crack Commando team, and they've got capes huge.
- 26:17Think he's got totally totally, it's a, yeah, it's an odd
- 26:26choice, but ID Robson world was not Cooler with the cast Peter
- 26:32Davison on the commentary, didn't have a good word to say
- 26:36about it or so it was D was it okay?
- 26:40But Steven Gallagher is very complimentary of her work in the
- 26:47documentary on the DVD say, well, are they, OK?
- 26:50If they think is Impractical, it looks great.
- 26:52Those veneer costumes, look, fantastic.
- 26:59Yeah, I do love the design of the veneer costumes.
- 27:02Went where our, when can we see the video?
- 27:05We'll discuss some of the practicalities, but design-wise
- 27:08they look day to be terrific. So do you think this is a case
- 27:12of a designer? And a script?
- 27:15Just like, there hasn't been a tone me in here to say this is
- 27:19how this needs to sort of look aesthetically.
- 27:23Hmm. Yeah, II would agree with that
- 27:27but, you know, I think if you look at someone like June
- 27:29Hudson, who I think, you know, does sometimes goes off the
- 27:33rails with her designs but they all but they still also somehow
- 27:39fit, you know, I mean she's got. She knows how far she can push
- 27:44it. Whereas I feel like d Robson
- 27:48here. Gets a particular idea for these
- 27:50costumes and doesn't consider character, you know how they
- 27:56are, they fit into the world. I mean, Sarah such as walking
- 28:00around in their undies. Yes.
- 28:05Yeah. There's a, there's a, there's a
- 28:06reason for that, which will come to more, very good reason, but
- 28:09it's a reason and the very least, okay, boys.
- 28:14Well, I want to ask you, both your thoughts on turlough and
- 28:20his mini Arc this season and whether you think this was one
- 28:24worth doing and to successful and let's start with PSI.
- 28:31Yes, I think it was worth doing. It was an interesting choice to
- 28:40have someone who's not necessarily trustworthy in the
- 28:43Tardis. I don't think they necessarily
- 28:47do it justice. Because how many times is he
- 28:50going to try and kill the doctor unsuccessfully?
- 28:53And how often can you actually pull that off and then the
- 28:58writers don't really know. What to do with him.
- 29:01Once he is redeemed, particularly, and I don't really
- 29:04know what to do with him in this story in particular as well
- 29:08after a very strong start in Mordred.
- 29:10I'm dead and I think he's very good in Enlightenment as well.
- 29:14But here that rendered. Yeah, I, I agree with everything
- 29:22so I just said it was a really interesting idea for a
- 29:26character. We just had a moment with Janet
- 29:29Fielding getting Buy some extras and unfortunately, one of them
- 29:31got a bit too enthusiastic on the first take and pulled her
- 29:34top down by accident. Did you see that in power?
- 29:38The doctor where the Cybermen had came out of that lift shop
- 29:42and they were all grabbing her. I swear that was a call back.
- 29:46Oh no, oh yes, yes, good point. Yeah, I think like, Mark is very
- 29:53sick strip. I think Mark is very successful
- 29:56with the material. They give tutor low.
- 30:00For this Arc. And as, especially the sort of
- 30:03emotional struggle, he has with it in the next story, and I
- 30:07think it also gives Janet Fielding a new dimension to
- 30:10play. Because, you know, she's been
- 30:14The Reluctant companion in her first season, and but now she
- 30:19sort of becomes the doctors protector and is constantly kind
- 30:22of saying too low. I don't trust you and I know
- 30:24you're up to something and I'm not going to let it happen,
- 30:28which is absolutely lovely. But Yeah yeah here because they
- 30:33want to foreground Nyssa. They are about to put too low
- 30:38and take it to the some ventilation shafts for
- 30:41two-and-a-half episodes which again those things have their
- 30:45moments because Gallagher's very good.
- 30:47But yeah. It is a bit of a shame to
- 30:49sideline him in his second story.
- 30:52Mmm. And you know as Mark kind of
- 30:56points out as his character goes a log, he just gets locked up a
- 31:00lot. There's a scene later on in this
- 31:04story. You know, the scene that starts
- 31:06with them sitting on the stairs and he's like, Teagan could you
- 31:08oh yeah and it's a really interesting moment.
- 31:13I'm like, why do we get more of this?
- 31:17Hmm. Yeah.
- 31:18Well for sure though and the to the to two actors could really
- 31:23pull that off together and is really interesting dynamic.
- 31:28Do you like this Cliff fire? Because I think this is super
- 31:31effective this cliff and I'm glad they used the word leper.
- 31:35I'm surprised I did but I'm glad they did.
- 31:42Yeah. It's it's interesting that they
- 31:45did and of course they got complaints and whatnot and
- 31:48basically we're back those complaint saying look, just
- 31:50watch till episode 4 because this gets a payoff and, you
- 31:55know, we do address it. I think I think the own the only
- 31:59thing that doesn't work and it's not necessarily the line.
- 32:02It's the ACT thing is I think the only thing that doesn't work
- 32:05is done That could just be we're all going to die, you know.
- 32:11It doesn't have to be. Yeah.
- 32:13All stretch out the whole sentence.
- 32:15We're all going to die. You know.
- 32:20It is a problem is a problem with these Pirates because
- 32:27there's a scene later, wake our egos please.
- 32:34I also think it's a bit of a shame ends with With the close
- 32:38up on the doctors face, when actually, it should have been
- 32:40over here who got the Cliffhanger there, because he's
- 32:43done the lines and done the work for that.
- 32:45I don't think that quite comes off.
- 32:49Because we're not focusing on him.
- 32:51Hmm, But and especially because you know, he's run up to the
- 32:55bridge and stood on the stairs to have his close-up and he
- 32:58doesn't get it. Yes, always a terrible harm.
- 33:02You know olvia so he is it's not your usual sort of moment of
- 33:07Jeopardy. Remember our modern Undead
- 33:08episode one ended with the turlough, pick it up that rock.
- 33:12You know, it's basically we're in a really tricky situation
- 33:16here. Cliffhanger I quite like that.
- 33:20That's just quite different from.
- 33:21You. Don't have someone coming and
- 33:23going. No, don't kill them.
- 33:24You know, they think of the next episode.
- 33:28Hmm. And Mary is direction of the
- 33:35lasers coming out of their cell and going through the corridors,
- 33:37it does feel like you've got about 40 people there.
- 33:40Yes, it does. There's a lot of movement and a
- 33:43lot of body is in a lot of hands and things, and it's nicely
- 33:48done. Do you know is amongst that
- 33:51bunch of lepers? She knows in there.
- 34:02I think we, I think we actually get a shot of her face at one
- 34:06point. I'm going to point that out.
- 34:08Okay, well, I can't wait well, boys.
- 34:12I mean, we basically spent the whole of episode.
- 34:14What I'm talking about. Mary ridges, poor nightmares for
- 34:17out this production. Brendan we're in your hands and
- 34:21episode 2. You are the moderator.
- 34:24Are you ready to skipping some that one?
- 34:27I certainly am. Okay, let's do it.
- 34:31Bosh right I'll cut one.
