- 0:45Speaker 2: see my.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Glove sometimes I watch. Yeah, I watched that. We put
- 0:48Speaker 3: clips up too, but I watched us fight about the Bengals.
- 0:51Speaker 1: That thing I've ever seen you put like a ballot
- 0:54Speaker 1: on that like a vote, and that people were against you. Nah, really, Mike,
- 0:58Speaker 1: we pulled the results up.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Please. Yeah, voted for me. I voted for me, so
- 1:02Speaker 2: we're all even that. Cancel it out.
- 1:04Speaker 3: You do have your podcast love on, Yeah, man, I'm
- 1:05Speaker 3: ready to go, and do you have your whistle?
- 1:07Speaker 2: I have my whistle. He saw were coach member broke
- 1:09Speaker 2: his foot?
- 1:09Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:09Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:09Speaker 3: He he's wearing a South Carolina glove which Bamber broke
- 1:12Speaker 3: his foot kicking something after they lost to Florida.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I wonder what he kicked. He never said what he kicked? Like,
- 1:17Speaker 2: was it first wall? Okay, I would think. I don't
- 1:19Speaker 2: think you kick a person whoever was near him.
- 1:22Speaker 3: There we go, let's start the show. Coming up, We'll
- 1:26Speaker 3: talk to coach Tyson Hilton. He's the hey coach at
- 1:30Speaker 3: Western Kentucky. Done some really good things up there. And
- 1:32Speaker 3: that is our episode of too Much Access this week.
- 1:34Speaker 3: So now let's go to the tittle tattle.
- 1:40Speaker 1: The let's all right?
- 1:45Speaker 5: Flag football is officially a part of the Olympics. So
- 1:48Speaker 5: if you could have a team with one quarterback, two
- 1:50Speaker 5: wide receivers from the NFL, who would you pick.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Do we know if they're going to actually let NFL
- 1:55Speaker 3: players play, if it's going to work out season, because
- 1:58Speaker 3: it's it'd be summer games, right, so that wouldn't be
- 2:01Speaker 3: in season.
- 2:01Speaker 2: But what if your NFL player and you go get
- 2:03Speaker 2: hurt doing this?
- 2:03Speaker 5: There is a report that says NFL players are legit interested.
- 2:07Speaker 2: So NFL players can play.
- 2:09Speaker 5: That would be the obviously a million dollar question.
- 2:13Speaker 1: So for sure, Johnny Manziel's gonna play like that would
- 2:16Speaker 1: be the kind of quarterback they would, for sure. Get No,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I think current NFL is what I'm asking. I know,
- 2:21Speaker 1: but I mean he doesn't play right now. No, I know,
- 2:23Speaker 1: but this is his chance to play. Like, Hey, I'm
- 2:24Speaker 1: not worried abut getting hurt. I'm not doing anything, Joe,
- 2:26Speaker 1: he's not good enough against the real quarterback five more years,
- 2:30Speaker 1: that's true.
- 2:30Speaker 6: Oh yeah, allow current and former players.
- 2:33Speaker 2: So but current players can play fire.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Okay, hey former two, but we're gonna okay, Eddie Joe Montana,
- 2:38Speaker 1: Lynn Dawson.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Collinsworth, Joe Montana. Let's go.
- 2:43Speaker 3: So then let's do this. Let's act like it's happening tomorrow,
- 2:46Speaker 3: not five years. Who would you put on the team
- 2:50Speaker 3: quarterback wise, say on the kind of three so we
- 2:53Speaker 3: don't steal them.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Do you have yours quarterback? First? Ready?
- 2:56Speaker 7: One?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Two? Three? Jackson?
- 2:57Speaker 3: Okay, good, same, probably same kind of player. Why Patrick Mahomes.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I mean he's just more reliable to me than Lamar Jackson,
- 3:04Speaker 1: who knows what you're gonna get with Lamar right now.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:06Speaker 1: To me with Lamar, since it's flag and it's all speed,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I think, to me, I want a Lamar Jackson type.
- 3:12Speaker 1: But Mahomes works in that spot too, because he's extremely versatile, agile, agile, quick.
- 3:20Speaker 3: I don't know if he's I don't know if he's fast,
- 3:21Speaker 3: but he's quick inaccurate. Yeah, so I like both of
- 3:25Speaker 3: those picks, but I think I take Lamar. If you're
- 3:27Speaker 3: just asking me, okay, let's do a receiver. Let's just
- 3:30Speaker 3: do one receiver for now?
- 3:31Speaker 2: Ready? One, two, three?
- 3:33Speaker 7: Tyree Lamb.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Okay, why Ceede Lamb? I mean he's awesome cowboy.
- 3:38Speaker 5: Cede Lamb over all these other receivers.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I do like Tyreek. Obviously he's fast, it'd be amazing.
- 3:43Speaker 1: But anything near Ceedee Lamb, he's going to catch it, Okay,
- 3:46Speaker 1: Like if it's in his vicinity, he's going to catch it,
- 3:47Speaker 1: and he's.
- 3:48Speaker 3: I don't feel like Ceedee Lamb has great hands. What
- 3:51Speaker 3: I feel like he has pretty good hands, But isn't
- 3:53Speaker 3: he prone to drops occasionally?
- 3:54Speaker 2: Like bad ugly drops? Show me that?
- 3:56Speaker 8: Yeah? He does.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Sometimes I feel like he doesn't want to catch the ball,
- 3:59Speaker 2: like sometimes I feel like he hits him in the chest,
- 4:00Speaker 2: like you know.
- 4:01Speaker 1: What Mike doesn't like about him is that he laughs
- 4:03Speaker 1: when he misses a catch, like it's just him laughing
- 4:06Speaker 1: at himself.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Why is he missing a catch? Shouldn't be missing the
- 4:08Speaker 2: catch and trying to laugh it off miss the ball.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I feel, maybe wrongly, that Ceede Lamb is a great
- 4:14Speaker 3: receiver but doesn't have the greatest hands, which is like,
- 4:18Speaker 3: it's pretty fast, has pretty good hands, like does everything
- 4:22Speaker 3: in the top three or four, but really isn't number
- 4:24Speaker 3: one at anything, and you're forgetting the yards after catch.
- 4:26Speaker 2: But even strong Sea Lamb's strong.
- 4:28Speaker 5: Yeah, he's a big boy.
- 4:29Speaker 2: So that's fine. I'm not hating on you for Ceedee Lamb.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Thank you. Well, you guys are.
- 4:34Speaker 7: Hating on me a little.
- 4:35Speaker 2: No, no, no no.
- 4:36Speaker 3: When you said he has great hands, I just question
- 4:38Speaker 3: does he really? Because I felt, maybe unfairly that he
- 4:43Speaker 3: doesn't have great hands traditionally for a receiver, because I've
- 4:46Speaker 3: just seen him drop some balls.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Remember Das got on him early in his career a
- 4:49Speaker 5: couple of years ago.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Dea is also known at times for dropping balls.
- 4:52Speaker 1: True, but yes, and that was last year, but it's
- 4:55Speaker 1: five years from now, six years ago, so we've.
- 4:57Speaker 7: Got time to get your hands.
- 5:00Speaker 2: With Tyreek.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I think the answer is he's fast, possibly the fastest
- 5:05Speaker 3: guy in the NFL. You just want speed out there
- 5:08Speaker 3: playing flag football. You don't need a lot of big,
- 5:11Speaker 3: strong linemen obviously, So I just go Tyreek because that's
- 5:13Speaker 3: the easy answer.
- 5:14Speaker 2: You want to do a second one? Yeah, but I
- 5:15Speaker 2: mean so I'm not gonna take Tyreek.
- 5:17Speaker 3: And I'm not gonna take Ceede Lamb, so we have
- 5:18Speaker 3: to take a different receiver, got it?
- 5:22Speaker 2: Okay?
- 5:22Speaker 1: One?
- 5:22Speaker 2: Two, three, Archie Jefferson. It was going to be those two.
- 5:25Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:26Speaker 3: You don't like you though, though, And both of them
- 5:28Speaker 3: are awesome, and both of them can argue as the
- 5:30Speaker 3: best wide receiver in the NFL. Yes, with Tyreek, but
- 5:33Speaker 3: not clam and Ceedee Lamb on both sides.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Give me the gold. That would be fun.
- 5:38Speaker 3: What if you had to do athletes that weren't football
- 5:41Speaker 3: players to put on the team as your quarterback and
- 5:46Speaker 3: two wide receivers. So it can be any athlete, but
- 5:52Speaker 3: they have to go play quarterback or wide receiver for
- 5:55Speaker 3: the team.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Interesting, God, that's tough. I don't even know who who?
- 6:00Speaker 3: Well, I would go like like a Dame Yeah, like
- 6:05Speaker 3: like Dame Lillard, Joe Moran or yeah or yeah, or
- 6:09Speaker 3: even like Steph who's obviously is a great athlete, but
- 6:13Speaker 3: it's really smart, like to play quarterback because you know
- 6:17Speaker 3: he's gonna memorize the entire playbook. And I take Steph
- 6:21Speaker 3: as my quarterback. I'm gonna take Steph as my quarterback.
- 6:23Speaker 3: And the two wide receivers. Who's your quarterback? By the way, Bolt,
- 6:31Speaker 3: why did you put him wide receiver?
- 6:32Speaker 1: I was gonna put him receive quarterbacks?
- 6:35Speaker 2: He's not American though, Okay, I forget forget that. No Bolt, who.
- 6:44Speaker 5: Was throwing dimes the other day?
- 6:45Speaker 1: Any athlete in another sport that went viral because you
- 6:48Speaker 1: could do like Mike Trout. Yeah?
- 6:50Speaker 2: Is it Bryce Harper? Like those guys? Is like quarterback
- 6:52Speaker 2: Brice Harper's he's awesome.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Hey, let's shake it up. Hope Solo? No, No, I Hope Solo.
- 6:57Speaker 1: What's your name? The girl?
- 6:58Speaker 4: Uh?
- 6:59Speaker 1: Soccer team? You're just are you doing this because you
- 7:02Speaker 1: the pressed? It would be awesome on that what's her name?
- 7:04Speaker 2: Morgan? Morgan? You don't take the stuff.
- 7:08Speaker 3: This is an absolutely serious question that's life or death,
- 7:10Speaker 3: and we should be traded.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Alex Morgan hell of an athlete. You just think she's hot. Yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 2: it'd be awesome. Dude, are they having men and women?
- 7:18Speaker 2: Flight football? Are just men?
- 7:19Speaker 5: I don't know?
- 7:20Speaker 1: So?
- 7:21Speaker 2: And then wide receivers like who would be fast?
- 7:24Speaker 7: Oh?
- 7:24Speaker 2: Okay, so who's like a fast Olympian? Why are you
- 7:28Speaker 2: asking me questions?
- 7:29Speaker 1: You know, like a hundred meters current Olympian? Like I
- 7:32Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know, but I don't It didn't
- 7:35Speaker 1: have to be a sprinter.
- 7:36Speaker 3: You could pick somebody like I think John Morant will
- 7:38Speaker 3: be awesome for that because he is lightning quick and.
- 7:42Speaker 5: He could jump up and grab a ball.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the heights Okay? Oh man, he's not American.
- 7:48Speaker 2: I was gonna say, I want.
- 7:53Speaker 5: To see yo quarterback.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Women Luca and he's got the most non American American team.
- 7:59Speaker 1: He's got beyond Well you think about it, though, then
- 8:02Speaker 1: we're America. We don't have all the great athletes, Like
- 8:05Speaker 1: what if what if?
- 8:06Speaker 2: I think we do have the great app the reason
- 8:09Speaker 2: we don't win. What if Greece takes Yannis and he's
- 8:12Speaker 2: their starting receiver, that's great, but we have other versions.
- 8:15Speaker 3: I mean, look at Katie Older, but I mean you
- 8:17Speaker 3: can find other guys, and obviously he's not as ripped
- 8:19Speaker 3: up as Giannis.
- 8:20Speaker 2: But it's just a population thing.
- 8:22Speaker 1: The more people, the more people, and the bigger your
- 8:25Speaker 1: country is, the more people you have, the more the
- 8:28Speaker 1: poll of athletes.
- 8:29Speaker 3: You get to pull from. So in Greece is not large.
- 8:31Speaker 3: That's why it's so weird that Yiannis is so good
- 8:33Speaker 3: because it's from a small country in Greece. Yes, three two, right,
- 8:37Speaker 3: I know, And they all get to play on the
- 8:38Speaker 3: bucks basically, and yeah, take up bench spots.
- 8:41Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 8:42Speaker 2: That's a fun question though.
- 8:43Speaker 3: That'll be fun and it'll be cool I think it'll
- 8:46Speaker 3: be cooler and more more fun if they If nflers
- 8:49Speaker 3: don't play, we have to find other athletes.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I agree to fill it.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Hey, well, you think they'll be cheating like double knot
- 8:55Speaker 1: on the flags, you know, because that's what our kids do.
- 8:58Speaker 1: My kids, like their lead gets. They get caught cheating
- 9:01Speaker 1: all the time, like tying the flag in yes, yes,
- 9:04Speaker 1: and they put three kids like dragging them.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Putting weights at the front of a sled or something
- 9:07Speaker 5: in the in the winter Olympics, right, same thing.
- 9:10Speaker 2: All sorts of cheating. Yeah, they'll find a way if
- 9:13Speaker 2: it can be done.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Russia will cheat using chemicals and America will cheat by strategy.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Yes, all right, next question, all right, some.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Real football here at a very quiet six and zero
- 9:24Speaker 5: in the season. Do you think Penn State will get
- 9:25Speaker 5: the recognition they deserve if they beat Ohio State this weekend?
- 9:28Speaker 3: If they beat Ohio State, they absolutely will. They get
- 9:31Speaker 3: it a little now, just because they've won six games.
- 9:33Speaker 3: But the only ranked team they've beat is Iowa, but
- 9:34Speaker 3: they beat them bad. But it's like, if you don't
- 9:37Speaker 3: play anybody, it's hard to get anybody to care about you.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Michigan hasn't played anybody, but Michigan started off last year.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Obviously they played really well and as deep as they got,
- 9:50Speaker 3: and then you're already that high, so we just follow
- 9:54Speaker 3: you and we trust that you're going to be really good.
- 9:56Speaker 3: But still even then, people are like Michigan tou anybody either.
- 9:58Speaker 3: So they're all got to play each other. They all
- 10:00Speaker 3: get to eat each other up now finally, yeah, and
- 10:02Speaker 3: I hope they do. I like it when everybody cannibalizes everybody,
- 10:05Speaker 3: even in the SEC. I think it's fine because I
- 10:08Speaker 3: just love people being really passionate about something.
- 10:11Speaker 1: There's not a real answer to look for sure. Alabama
- 10:14Speaker 1: should get in. Yeah, no way, man, And everybody's right
- 10:17Speaker 1: and everybody's wrong.
- 10:18Speaker 3: I love it so. Yes, if Penn State beats Ohio State,
- 10:22Speaker 3: but that'd be a disaster for that conference because Pen
- 10:24Speaker 3: State will get beats.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Ohio State may not get beat again until they play
- 10:28Speaker 1: in Michigan. They may even beat Michigan. I don't think
- 10:30Speaker 1: they will, but they could so. I Penn State wins,
- 10:33Speaker 1: but I don't think they will. Penn States also played
- 10:36Speaker 1: like you Mass, but they're real bad.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw the bottom twenty five today football exactly
- 10:46Speaker 3: like U Mass and Connecticut are both usually traditionally really bad.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Everyone's walking. Connecticut will have a pretty good team, yeah,
- 10:52Speaker 2: and that's a big story.
- 10:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:53Speaker 2: And then they played Delaware. Oh, hell of a team. Yeah.
- 10:57Speaker 5: Are they Division one?
- 10:59Speaker 2: Are they playing at the shit?
- 11:00Speaker 1: They're in Ohio State right, Yes, which is why if
- 11:05Speaker 1: they beat them, especially there, that's a big deal for them.
- 11:07Speaker 7: All right.
- 11:07Speaker 5: Next question NFL here which wrote underdog do you think
- 11:10Speaker 5: has a better chance to cover on Sunday? The Lions
- 11:12Speaker 5: plus three at the Ravens or Chargers plus five and
- 11:15Speaker 5: a half at Kansas City.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I have said since the beginning, and I know I'm wrong.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I know I'm wrong. I'm gonna say it again. You
- 11:25Speaker 1: never say you're wrong, but I've said it about this
- 11:27Speaker 1: every time. I know I'm wrong.
- 11:28Speaker 3: I know I'm not seeing what the experts are seeing.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Couldn't be any more wrong. I'd never been a big
- 11:35Speaker 3: believer in Herbert, just because everybody tells me how good
- 11:38Speaker 3: he is, how awesome he is. He's never that he's fine,
- 11:41Speaker 3: or he's injured, or he misthrows to win the game
- 11:44Speaker 3: against the Cowboys.
- 11:46Speaker 2: You did love him, though, No, a couple of years ago. No,
- 11:49Speaker 2: I never loved him. I think him now. I never understood.
- 11:54Speaker 2: But then I said, I guess I just have to understand.
- 11:56Speaker 2: He's really good. Dude, he's big, huh.
- 11:58Speaker 1: I don't argue that he's not good. I argue that
- 12:01Speaker 1: I don't get I don't I don't get it. You
- 12:03Speaker 1: just don't see I'm missing something because I see why
- 12:06Speaker 1: he's supposed to be good. I hear everybody that knows
- 12:08Speaker 1: way more than me telling me he's good, So then
- 12:10Speaker 1: I believe him. It's like one to my doctor. He
- 12:13Speaker 1: knows way more about this rash than I do, so
- 12:15Speaker 1: I just.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Only studies rashes.
- 12:16Speaker 5: Yes, So then what about when people say it's a coaching.
- 12:21Speaker 3: He's had some coaching shifts. He's got a defensive coach
- 12:23Speaker 3: right now. The coordinator situation, I thought it was going
- 12:26Speaker 3: to be different this year. They got the Cowboys coordinator.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah, the kid telling more h Boys. He say, quarterback, yep, lefty.
- 12:36Speaker 1: You know what's I think the coach is a bigger
- 12:40Speaker 1: deal than we think, Like, like even Jalen hurts. There
- 12:43Speaker 1: are some quarterbacks that really just like I want to
- 12:45Speaker 1: do what I'm going to do, like I love you.
- 12:48Speaker 3: If you have the equity to do that, you can
- 12:51Speaker 3: do it with Some don't get they'll get pulled right.
- 12:53Speaker 1: And I think that that's the deal with with Herbert,
- 12:55Speaker 1: Like he's not making decisions for himself. He's just doing
- 12:57Speaker 1: what they're telling him to do. I think Dak's the
- 12:59Speaker 1: same way. But he's missing throws too though. That's the
- 13:01Speaker 1: thing he missed right. He could have won that game,
- 13:03Speaker 1: and he's still hurt. I think he's always been always
- 13:06Speaker 1: doesn't move like he's completely healthy.
- 13:08Speaker 3: I know he's good. I just have always said, I'm
- 13:10Speaker 3: not seeing it. I don't know why everybody gives them
- 13:12Speaker 3: put him the top three to four quarterbacks every year.
- 13:14Speaker 3: He hasn't shown me that he's that yet. But who
- 13:16Speaker 3: cares about me? I don't I care about you, man,
- 13:18Speaker 3: I don't even really care about you. Yeah, dude, it's
- 13:19Speaker 3: my opinion.
- 13:20Speaker 2: We're here for you man.
- 13:21Speaker 3: That being said, I don't think it's the Chargers covering
- 13:25Speaker 3: plus five and a half at Kansas City. I think
- 13:28Speaker 3: the Lions of plus three can actually go to Baltimore
- 13:30Speaker 3: and win. Love that just because the Ravens are hot
- 13:33Speaker 3: and cold. They're hot in.
- 13:34Speaker 1: The cold, yes, and they no, they drop a lot
- 13:38Speaker 1: of balls, then they score U toutdown. I didn't rhyme,
- 13:41Speaker 1: but I think Baltimore can be anybody. But I think
- 13:44Speaker 1: Baltimore can lose to anyone.
- 13:46Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Man, they shoot themselves in the foot all the time.
- 13:48Speaker 3: And I think the Lions can actually win that game.
- 13:50Speaker 3: So I want to take the Lions. I think they
- 13:52Speaker 3: have a better shot of covering of the two teams
- 13:54Speaker 3: all right, Next.
- 13:54Speaker 5: Up last one at five on one and facing off
- 13:56Speaker 5: on Sunday. Who do you think has a better chance
- 13:58Speaker 5: of making the Super Bowl at the end of this season,
- 14:00Speaker 5: the Dolphins or the Eagles, this.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Game is gonna be awesome. So good.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Even if it's not awesome, it's awesome to watch them play.
- 14:08Speaker 1: So you can kind of learn about their identity a
- 14:10Speaker 1: little more. You can see who's gonna choke.
- 14:13Speaker 3: You can see I don't I love when the big
- 14:15Speaker 3: matchups happened and you got two quarterbacks, which hurts. Not
- 14:19Speaker 3: having the best season, especially in Jalen hurts. I mean,
- 14:23Speaker 3: although he hasn't played for a long time. But I mean,
- 14:25Speaker 3: let's think've got a lot of interceptions this year, way
- 14:27Speaker 3: more than he had. I think he has as much
- 14:28Speaker 3: many now as he did all of last year. So man,
- 14:34Speaker 3: the Eagles just have done it before getting to the
- 14:37Speaker 3: Super Bowl, and not even the squad just traditionally. I
- 14:40Speaker 3: can I can see the wing in the Super Bowl. Yeah,
- 14:43Speaker 3: so that makes it easier for me to pick them.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Kelsey's still there, Like They've got people that have been there,
- 14:48Speaker 1: so I like it.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Well still there yet last year, well yeah, I know
- 14:51Speaker 2: a lot of them. He was supposed to retire last year. Yeah,
- 14:53Speaker 2: But I mean they have a lot of people. Are
- 14:55Speaker 2: the coach. I mean, they have a lot of people
- 14:57Speaker 2: because it was just year. I was like, great pointed
- 15:01Speaker 2: and I was like, wait, that was last year.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I think I'm gonna have to go with the Eagles,
- 15:06Speaker 3: just because I feel like that culture has experienced it
- 15:16Speaker 3: a bit and won't think it's too big for them.
- 15:20Speaker 9: Now.
- 15:20Speaker 2: The Dolphins may not either, but I don't know. I mean,
- 15:22Speaker 2: when was the last time the Dolphins were in the playoffs?
- 15:24Speaker 2: Nineteen seventy two of the year they know.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I don't know it's been after that, that long ago.
- 15:29Speaker 1: I thought you met super Bowl? Well, super Bowl has
- 15:31Speaker 1: been a long, long long time. But I mean that's
- 15:33Speaker 1: Dan Marino days.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I think it's close. I love both the teams. I'm
- 15:36Speaker 2: gonna go.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I think the Eagles. But they could actually play each other,
- 15:42Speaker 1: couldn't they?
- 15:43Speaker 5: Yeah, in the Super Bowl.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Yeah, so if that won't, that won't happens. Too much Green,
- 15:49Speaker 1: they will let it happen.
- 15:50Speaker 9: You know.
- 15:50Speaker 2: The NFL cit in room going all right, what are
- 15:51Speaker 2: the color schemes? Oh, we gotta make sure there's nothing.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Dolphins aren't green, guys. Great, I'm color blind as f
- 15:57Speaker 2: so you could be right green.
- 15:59Speaker 1: No, they don't. Dolphins are baby blue and orange bangles. Oh,
- 16:03Speaker 1: here we go, Yeah, here we go?
- 16:05Speaker 2: But what what about like the dolphins? Though in there
- 16:06Speaker 2: are the dolphins not green?
- 16:08Speaker 5: The logo is green?
- 16:10Speaker 2: Is it dolphin not green?
- 16:11Speaker 7: Green?
- 16:12Speaker 2: Oh my god, eddie baby blue, it's green. I'm the
- 16:16Speaker 2: color blind one, and I think I only know because
- 16:17Speaker 2: people have told me that's turquoise, you idiots.
- 16:20Speaker 1: But oh, the turquoise would be a combination of green
- 16:23Speaker 1: and blue. Okay, Oh so then we're both right, ding ding.
- 16:28Speaker 2: It's listed as aqua orange, white, and marine.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Blue boo, marine blue being fourth, probably the least prominent color.
- 16:36Speaker 2: What color is aqua?
- 16:38Speaker 7: Green? Blue? Like a green blue?
- 16:39Speaker 2: Blue? Green? Yeah? So I guess what I mean. It's
- 16:42Speaker 2: it's like the gatorade, is it? It looks more green?
- 16:44Speaker 4: Though.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I bought a gatorade yesterday and the guy's like, do
- 16:47Speaker 1: you want a yellow or red? I'm like, what's a
- 16:49Speaker 1: yellow one?
- 16:49Speaker 6: Yellow?
- 16:50Speaker 2: Of course they have yellow one. I always thought that's green.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I thought it was yellow.
- 16:53Speaker 5: It's yellow.
- 16:54Speaker 1: It's just a debate, man, It's a thing that you know,
- 16:56Speaker 1: everyone does like as they know the actual color of
- 16:59Speaker 1: the flavors yellow?
- 16:59Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, what's the flavor of a yellow gator er? Lime?
- 17:03Speaker 7: Lime?
- 17:03Speaker 2: Which is which is green. If it's lime, then you
- 17:05Speaker 2: may have a great point. No, it's not lemon, like gosh, man,
- 17:12Speaker 2: if I'm right, that's that's three argument.
- 17:14Speaker 6: Is lemon lime?
- 17:15Speaker 2: Oh my god, turquoise, We're both right. Basically it's turkoise
- 17:20Speaker 2: in the middle.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Hey, hey, back in the Dolphins though, like they are.
- 17:25Speaker 1: They're missing a chain or however you pronounce a chan
- 17:29Speaker 1: like yeah, like, so they're not full strength right now.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Waddle got injured last game.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Nobody's full strength though, No I know, but I'm talking
- 17:36Speaker 1: about not playing. So if you go into the Eagles
- 17:39Speaker 1: game with injuries or whatever, I mean, the Eagles may
- 17:42Speaker 1: look like they could be the team to go to
- 17:43Speaker 1: the super Bowl. But I think the Dolphins, like once
- 17:46Speaker 1: they're healthy in four weeks, three weeks or whatever, full strength,
- 17:49Speaker 1: like they're gonna be dangerous.
- 17:51Speaker 2: The Eagles lost to the Browns.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Yeah, Jets, too much green, I swear to God's I
- 17:57Speaker 1: just green?
- 17:58Speaker 2: Now that's green? Oh my god, I'm going who the
- 18:00Speaker 2: Eagles lose to. They lost to the They also.
- 18:04Speaker 5: Loss of the Jets, the Browns, Niners, loss of the Browns.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Oh my god, all these games are getting mixed up
- 18:09Speaker 2: in my head. I know, man, that's football, football now,
- 18:11Speaker 2: I know, I knew they lost. Anyway, I go with
- 18:13Speaker 2: the Eagles. You, yeah, I'll go. I'll go with the
- 18:16Speaker 2: Miami for that reason. Who's favorite Sancisco? Yeh yeah? All right,
- 18:20Speaker 2: thank you. That's the tittle Tittle.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Tattle twenty five whistles presented by Draft Kings Sports Book,
- 18:33Speaker 3: an official sports betting partner of the NFL. Download the
- 18:35Speaker 3: Draft Kings app and use the code Bobby's Sports to
- 18:38Speaker 3: get in on the action.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Do you want to do the parlay? Why were you
- 18:41Speaker 2: reading it like that? Announce their voice? Jim nance not
- 18:44Speaker 2: a legit? Thank you, Kevin. Have you seen Jim at all?
- 18:49Speaker 2: Saw him on the golf course. That's amazing. Talked with
- 18:52Speaker 2: him for a while. Great guy, good shot there, Bobby.
- 18:56Speaker 1: He didn't say that because it wasn't a good shot
- 18:59Speaker 1: when he was there.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Okay, we have failed our listeners. Which would you call
- 19:05Speaker 3: the whistlers on the parlay? We failed? I failed them
- 19:08Speaker 3: many times. Oh like the Swifties, they're the whistlers. I've
- 19:11Speaker 3: been calling the whistlers at the beginning. Never caught that,
- 19:13Speaker 3: never caught that.
- 19:15Speaker 2: But I like it.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Thank you, Eddie, go man, it's a tough one. Give
- 19:20Speaker 1: me the one game for our parlay. This is a
- 19:22Speaker 1: tough one, but I'm going to go unc North Carolina.
- 19:26Speaker 1: They're playing Virginia and I believe they are minus twenty
- 19:31Speaker 1: three and a half.
- 19:32Speaker 5: Correct.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Oh, you're going with that line. I'm going to go
- 19:35Speaker 1: with a big line on that, Okay, Kevin.
- 19:38Speaker 5: Speaking of big lines here. Michigan been blowing everybody out
- 19:41Speaker 5: this year, and I think they do it again on
- 19:42Speaker 5: the road at Michigan State minus twenty four.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Rivalry twenty four.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Michigan State is a very bad Oh, it's a bad one.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Rivalry twenty four rivalry. That's a lot of points.
- 19:54Speaker 3: I'm going Ole Miss money line over Auburn. No, no guts,
- 19:59Speaker 3: it's not a twenty point game though it's less than
- 20:01Speaker 3: a touchdown.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I mean, you're probably gonna win it, but I'm just
- 20:05Speaker 2: making funny.
- 20:05Speaker 8: I'm just trying to win, man.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I know.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Well, then give me North Carolina money line. Well it's
- 20:09Speaker 1: twenty three and a half. That'll can someone stick that
- 20:17Speaker 1: in the app for ten bucks and let me know
- 20:20Speaker 1: what that is? Ole Miss money line over Auburn Michigan
- 20:23Speaker 1: minus twenty four at Michigan State and you NC minus
- 20:26Speaker 1: twenty three and a.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Half versus, that'll be good money miles.
- 20:30Speaker 3: If you put one hundred, it's probably if I'm betting,
- 20:34Speaker 3: I'm gonna let me guess what it goes off that,
- 20:36Speaker 3: because I don't know.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I would say you're looking at two probably won ten
- 20:41Speaker 1: bets and then that one minus. If you put it
- 20:45Speaker 1: in one hundred I'm gonna say six hundred and eighty bucks.
- 20:49Speaker 3: I'll read this book while you do that. If you
- 20:51Speaker 3: want to take twenty five busles, probably a check out
- 20:53Speaker 3: Drafting sports book. New usuers used to go to Bobby
- 20:54Speaker 3: Sports when you download the app twenty one enough in
- 20:56Speaker 3: most eligible states, but age varies by jurisdiction, eligibility and
- 20:59Speaker 3: a posit restrictions apply. Gambling problem called one huture gambler
- 21:02Speaker 3: in New York called eight seven seven eight hope and wire.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Text hope and why stick it in yet? I mean,
- 21:07Speaker 1: did you now yet?
- 21:11Speaker 5: I had to log in, We had to get through it.
- 21:13Speaker 5: You got to find here we go. I have to
- 21:14Speaker 5: log in and then.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Yeah, no, you don't, You're right, don't that's true? And
- 21:19Speaker 3: by the way, I'll read you my stats in case
- 21:21Speaker 3: you missed on the last one because if I'm betting
- 21:23Speaker 3: and telling you, I'm literally betting too. I'm betting this
- 21:26Speaker 3: so far on the year season review football season. Anyway,
- 21:31Speaker 3: I've made one hundred and ninety eight bets. I've wagered
- 21:34Speaker 3: twenty one, three hundred and ninety three dollars.
- 21:38Speaker 1: That's baller, dude, that's baller. Were you not here when
- 21:41Speaker 1: I did this the other day? No, my winnings are
- 21:44Speaker 1: one thousand ninety nine dollars.
- 21:45Speaker 5: Okay, it went up.
- 21:47Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, I had a pretty good weekend last weekend,
- 21:49Speaker 3: so I'm plus one thousand ninety nine dollars. I also
- 21:52Speaker 3: want to say this, I deleted twenty the Bobby and
- 21:54Speaker 3: Whistlers from the DraftKings.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that was weird. I had a group of a
- 21:56Speaker 2: couple hundred people.
- 21:57Speaker 3: I deleted them because I can't getting the emails going.
- 22:00Speaker 3: There's a new person in the group and I couldn't
- 22:02Speaker 3: turn it off. I turned every setting. Really, it kept
- 22:04Speaker 3: filling on my mailbox and I was a Eddie, can
- 22:06Speaker 3: you find this saying we look forever? I couldn't find
- 22:07Speaker 3: it since I was running the group, and gave me
- 22:09Speaker 3: all the eat quit. Probably start another one if I
- 22:12Speaker 3: can figured it out. But right now I got to
- 22:14Speaker 3: figure out how to not get the email. Probably figure
- 22:16Speaker 3: that out, so I'll start a new one. Maybe it
- 22:19Speaker 3: washes that taste of all the miss parlays off. Anyway,
- 22:22Speaker 3: for one hundred bucks when he got ten one hundred,
- 22:24Speaker 3: you just add another zero to that.
- 22:25Speaker 5: That's true. Five oh one.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Okay, close you bus one hundred feet, I'll do that.
- 22:30Speaker 5: One hundred bucks, one five hundred. Put put that on
- 22:33Speaker 5: pay out as five hundred.
- 22:34Speaker 2: I'll put a hundred on it. Wow, that's crazy all
- 22:36Speaker 2: my parties to put one hundred on I know, I know, dude.
- 22:38Speaker 5: I was in bed with my wife twenty one grand
- 22:40Speaker 5: so far.
- 22:40Speaker 2: I was in bed with my wife and we're like
- 22:42Speaker 2: just sitting there, and I was like, do you know
- 22:43Speaker 2: how much Bobby spends on.
- 22:46Speaker 6: A week?
- 22:47Speaker 2: I just came up. I think, I know.
- 22:49Speaker 1: I think I was placing a bet and she was
- 22:52Speaker 1: like how much?
- 22:52Speaker 2: I told her. She was like, oh like why wait,
- 22:55Speaker 2: how I don't spend twenty grand a week?
- 22:57Speaker 3: No?
- 22:57Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, even the number I told her, what
- 22:59Speaker 2: number is?
- 23:00Speaker 1: Yeller?
- 23:01Speaker 2: What three grand?
- 23:02Speaker 1: Oh?
- 23:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I say that here, that's what I say. Yeah, yeah,
- 23:04Speaker 2: this last week. But you also have to understand let
- 23:09Speaker 2: me find them.
- 23:09Speaker 1: I know, dude, you're you got more money than I do.
- 23:11Speaker 1: That was not what I was going to say, I get.
- 23:13Speaker 1: That was not what I was going to say at
- 23:15Speaker 1: all this last weekend. Oh what did you discover this
- 23:21Speaker 1: last weekend? It was a five grand weekend?
- 23:23Speaker 2: Ooh yeah, I'll tell you that one. I saying because
- 23:26Speaker 2: I thought you had sixteen thousand before that. It was
- 23:28Speaker 2: close to like sixteen thousand.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a five grand weekend because I bet thirty
- 23:31Speaker 3: four hundred on NCAA football and fifteen hundred on NFL.
- 23:36Speaker 3: My point is, if I start firing off shots and
- 23:40Speaker 3: they're all missing, I don't keep betting. Well, yeah, because
- 23:43Speaker 3: you're at four thousand. No, I would stop too. Do
- 23:47Speaker 3: you think that I have? I go, okay, I'm gonna
- 23:48Speaker 3: bebout four thousand dollars all at once.
- 23:50Speaker 2: No no, no, no, no, that would be dune, absolutely not.
- 23:52Speaker 1: And if I miss five or six big bets, I'm out.
- 23:56Speaker 1: I'm never gonna lose. I might if I'm just five
- 23:58Speaker 1: or six big What do you mean, like how big bets?
- 24:01Speaker 1: My unit is one hundred bucks. Let's say I do it.
- 24:03Speaker 1: That's that's your one dollar for me.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Your your unit's a dollar.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Yes, So I would say if I lose like a
- 24:09Speaker 3: five unit bet, I'm like, oh, I can't. I'm not
- 24:11Speaker 3: gonna do another one of those, lose another one, I'm quitting.
- 24:13Speaker 2: For the weekend.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Because I can easily pull the trigger to bet, easily
- 24:16Speaker 3: pull the trigger to stop. I don't have a problem,
- 24:18Speaker 3: but I do understand how if you're not careful sure
- 24:22Speaker 3: and you're not setting rule. My rules are, if I
- 24:25Speaker 3: lose two big bets, I'm done. So I'm never gonna lose.
- 24:28Speaker 3: I'm never gonna lose that. I say that, I don't.
- 24:30Speaker 3: I don't want to actually lose it. Now, there's no
- 24:33Speaker 3: such thing as never. But I wouldn't have a five
- 24:35Speaker 3: thousand a weekend if I wasn't doing pretty good.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, yeah, I'll tell her that tonight. It's not
- 24:39Speaker 2: gonna work. What's not gonna work?
- 24:41Speaker 1: Let it?
- 24:42Speaker 2: Haven't telling her that so she lets you bet more.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Well, it's really yeah, it was really for me to
- 24:46Speaker 1: be like, how cool, Like I I just spend fifty
- 24:48Speaker 1: isn't that cool? Like that's what I spent. I've moved
- 24:51Speaker 1: up to fifty. By the way, a week. Yeah, no,
- 24:54Speaker 1: a month, a month, a month. I haven't told her
- 24:56Speaker 1: that yet. I think I thought you only got to
- 24:58Speaker 1: fifty because she lets you no, I was at four. Yeah,
- 25:00Speaker 1: I knew that I was at forty a month. But
- 25:03Speaker 1: I think we're going so strong with all of these
- 25:05Speaker 1: parlays and stuff. We're losing. We're losing, I know. But
- 25:08Speaker 1: that's why I needed to up it a little bit. No,
- 25:10Speaker 1: that's the opposite way you should do. That's what I
- 25:11Speaker 1: just said, just that.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I should say.
- 25:14Speaker 9: No.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Scale back.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Is everybody's promise bet that same bet which one get
- 25:20Speaker 3: picked for their thing?
- 25:21Speaker 4: Oh?
- 25:21Speaker 2: Min can't No, No, mine's different.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Yeah, mine can't be because mine's not a line bet
- 25:26Speaker 3: because I took the money line true. So we'll come
- 25:29Speaker 3: back to our promise bet. How much is in the
- 25:30Speaker 3: broken promises?
- 25:31Speaker 8: Jar?
- 25:32Speaker 5: Yeah, right here, seventy, but it's gonna be ninety. I
- 25:36Speaker 5: gotta throw ten in which I have read.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Yeah night, we'll say ninety bucks, ninety bucks in their
- 25:41Speaker 3: broken promises, Okay, and then we'll do our promises coming
- 25:44Speaker 3: up in a second.
- 25:45Speaker 2: A couple of things.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Number one, Caleb Williams wants partial ownership of whatever NFL
- 25:49Speaker 3: team drafts him. I'd also like a two foot penis
- 25:52Speaker 3: good luck?
- 25:52Speaker 2: D Why would you want two foot? Yeah? Yeah, that's good,
- 25:55Speaker 2: just gonna be cool. Don't want to two inches? I'm like, what, no, no,
- 25:58Speaker 2: to hey, has anyone ever done that?
- 26:02Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers tried with the Jets and they wouldn't let
- 26:05Speaker 3: him do it. It's such a precedent. There's no way.
- 26:08Speaker 3: I mean Aaron Rodgers, I understand. Yeah, but even then
- 26:11Speaker 3: they said no.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I mean even if Messi was like I like to
- 26:13Speaker 1: play in the NFL and on part of a team,
- 26:15Speaker 1: I don't think they.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Would let MESSI would have been a good receiver.
- 26:18Speaker 1: You know.
- 26:20Speaker 2: No, I don't know about that.
- 26:21Speaker 3: But I can't tell how good of athlete soccer players
- 26:23Speaker 3: are because they're all run around other great athletes. It's
- 26:25Speaker 3: like sprinters when they all sprinting gets each other.
- 26:26Speaker 2: How fast are they really? Like Kevin run beside him?
- 26:29Speaker 2: They all really know how fast they.
- 26:32Speaker 5: Let's set it up.
- 26:33Speaker 3: So, yeah, there is no I think there's zero percent chance.
- 26:37Speaker 3: There's no such thing as zero present chance. I think
- 26:39Speaker 3: there's point one percent chance they let Kayleb Williams have
- 26:42Speaker 3: any part of.
- 26:42Speaker 5: A team, right, no shot.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I mean when Tom Brady was rumored to be buying
- 26:47Speaker 1: part of the Dolphins, which now is part of the.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Vegas.
- 26:52Speaker 5: Yeah, Raiders and a Vegas.
- 26:54Speaker 2: And they just want a championships. They got another title.
- 26:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Why is he owning Vegas because.
- 26:58Speaker 1: They wanted him? Why do I own part of a
- 27:00Speaker 1: pickleball professional pickball team? Because they reach down there? Do
- 27:03Speaker 1: I know part of we'd like you to be part
- 27:05Speaker 1: part owner?
- 27:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're part Texan, that's true. It's as I
- 27:07Speaker 2: would say, Texan. I'm Austinite.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Texas, mm hmm, don't you're a Cowboys fan? No, nope,
- 27:16Speaker 1: And listen, everybody in Texas.
- 27:17Speaker 2: I love you. I lived there for a long time.
- 27:20Speaker 2: That's where we met. Man.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I am part Austinite for sure, me Mike, you met Michael,
- 27:25Speaker 1: but not Texan.
- 27:26Speaker 3: I'm on our Kansas for sure, a bit of Austinite.
- 27:30Speaker 3: And you know what a little Tennessee in there? Yeah, yeah,
- 27:33Speaker 3: for sure. So, but there's no chance Kalla Williams is
- 27:36Speaker 3: part of a team, right. No, it would have to
- 27:38Speaker 3: be something so ground a player so groundbreaking that would
- 27:43Speaker 3: make them so much money for them to even consider it,
- 27:46Speaker 3: because then everybody will want it.
- 27:48Speaker 5: Yeah, and there's no way the NFL owners, Goodell, whoever
- 27:52Speaker 5: want anybody else in on that pie at any portion.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Well without being cleared at least because they're ownership groups.
- 27:59Speaker 1: There are like the Steelers, right, Like there's a group
- 28:02Speaker 1: of people that own the Steelers. I mean even the Packers,
- 28:05Speaker 1: like people own states in them.
- 28:07Speaker 3: There's a may there's a majority owner. But even Dan Snyder,
- 28:10Speaker 3: as he owned the Commanders, he was the majority owner,
- 28:13Speaker 3: but he sold the team. Now there's an owner but there.
- 28:16Speaker 3: That's why Magic Johnson is there because he's part owner there.
- 28:20Speaker 3: I won't say too much, but there was a professional
- 28:23Speaker 3: in one of the big three sports teams asking me
- 28:26Speaker 3: if I want to be a part owner of a team.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I can't say much else about it because I can't
- 28:31Speaker 3: jeopardize it.
- 28:32Speaker 2: But it's a very minority thing. But it's really cool.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I was thinking maybe Jerry would let you in.
- 28:38Speaker 1: But now on the Cowboys, now now he's a full owner. Yeah,
- 28:41Speaker 1: oh yeah, they're not letting anyone else in.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Anthony Richardson to have season ending shoulder surgery, which sucks
- 28:48Speaker 3: because he was fun to watch. We mentioned on the
- 28:50Speaker 3: last episode of this that I think they can probably
- 28:53Speaker 3: win more games now. But he's just not going to
- 28:56Speaker 3: develop because anyuarterback with hair come out of their helmet,
- 29:02Speaker 3: he can gun sling.
- 29:03Speaker 2: A little bit. Oh, Trevor Lawrence, Well that's a little bit.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Who's their quarterback? Colts? We'll play We'll let's play back.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Name the backup?
- 29:10Speaker 1: Menshew Gardner, Minshew Minshew Minshew Minshew Gardner, Minshew does any
- 29:15Speaker 1: show along here?
- 29:16Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 29:16Speaker 1: And a mustache exactly. So if you got hair come
- 29:18Speaker 1: at your helmet, you can win a game. You may
- 29:21Speaker 1: lose eight, but you can still win one.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Okay, okay, I think other quarterbacks have hair coming out
- 29:26Speaker 2: of helmet. Let's see Trevor Lawrence. Wow, that's it. You
- 29:31Speaker 2: can win games. How about the Notre Dame. Oh wait
- 29:34Speaker 2: wait wait.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Herbert, Herbert, Herbert, he's got a little bit of hair
- 29:38Speaker 1: coming out of us. Got a little bit. So we
- 29:39Speaker 1: went a little bit of a game.
- 29:40Speaker 5: You see how hertman just shaved his beard.
- 29:44Speaker 2: I hate that.
- 29:45Speaker 5: It's a hard stash.
- 29:45Speaker 2: He was so hot and then that happened. Sorry what
- 29:49Speaker 2: I thought I thought that? I don't know.
- 29:50Speaker 3: I said that Tom Brady thinks the NFL is becoming
- 29:52Speaker 3: more like flag football. My favorite thing about this story
- 29:55Speaker 3: is that now that he's out of the league, he's like, you're.
- 29:56Speaker 5: Allus awesome.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Because he was the first one to scream and cry
- 30:03Speaker 3: as soon as anybody hit him.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Uh huh, hilarious. Here's a clip.
- 30:07Speaker 3: This is Tom Brady talking about NFL officiating on the
- 30:10Speaker 3: Let's Go podcast with Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray.
- 30:12Speaker 9: All I know is the defender's got every right to
- 30:15Speaker 9: push back on DK, but he doesn't do it, and
- 30:17Speaker 9: they throw a flag. I'm like, I don't understand what
- 30:19Speaker 9: the flag is. This is football, you know, this is
- 30:21Speaker 9: in touch football. This is real football, and I think
- 30:23Speaker 9: the physicality which people really enjoy. I certainly enjoy it.
- 30:26Speaker 9: I love that physical element of the sport. I don't
- 30:28Speaker 9: think we should ever lose that. You know, there's so
- 30:30Speaker 9: many people that want it less and less physical. It's
- 30:32Speaker 9: more like flag football, which is going to be in
- 30:34Speaker 9: the Olympics in twenty twenty eight, you know, which, maybe
- 30:37Speaker 9: football goes to flag football over a period of time.
- 30:39Speaker 9: I don't think fans will like that that much. Then
- 30:41Speaker 9: everyone should stop bitching about unnecessary roughness calls now.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Rough in the passer punk. I know, it's just a
- 30:47Speaker 2: weird thing coming from him.
- 30:49Speaker 5: He used to get blown up.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Oh, and he'd always complain about.
- 30:52Speaker 1: It, cry all the time years ago, even about times
- 30:56Speaker 1: when he wasn't getting blown up, he would cry.
- 30:58Speaker 2: But that's okay.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Like I said, if you're quarterbacks out, it sucks for
- 31:01Speaker 3: your team. Nobody will likes to watch games as the
- 31:02Speaker 3: bad quarterback. But it's football. It's football. It's not touch
- 31:06Speaker 3: I hear you. In basketball supposed to be physical, but no.
- 31:08Speaker 3: We hated the nineties when everybody's fallt ballad crap a Detroit.
- 31:12Speaker 3: There were no there's no scoring. We love scoring with
- 31:15Speaker 3: the occasional defensive stop. Yeah, it's like baseball. We love
- 31:18Speaker 3: home runs every once in a while. We'll like to
- 31:20Speaker 3: see a good complete game.
- 31:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 31:23Speaker 1: But you know what, though, if this is going to
- 31:24Speaker 1: be him on TV, I like it, Like I want
- 31:27Speaker 1: to see him be a little risque because I just
- 31:29Speaker 1: picture him.
- 31:30Speaker 2: He's not showing his pecker, is.
- 31:31Speaker 1: That not that means like a little lot of controversy
- 31:33Speaker 1: but me, yeah, a little controversial having an opinion.
- 31:35Speaker 2: That's what I was going for.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Not really like taking his shirt off, go ahead, But
- 31:38Speaker 1: you know, like I want him to have opinions. I
- 31:41Speaker 1: just kind of have the the idea that he was
- 31:43Speaker 1: just going to come in and just be like, oh,
- 31:44Speaker 1: you know, that's a good play right there, Jim, Like
- 31:48Speaker 1: you know, I want him to be you know, like
- 31:50Speaker 1: this voices opinion.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Yeah, him on his six million dollar yacht. No, it's
- 31:54Speaker 3: a video maybe yesterday morning. If him on the front.
- 31:57Speaker 3: It's only only six million dollars to him. They're like,
- 31:59Speaker 3: here he is on a six I thought he have
- 32:00Speaker 3: a forty million dollars year.
- 32:01Speaker 5: He probably does.
- 32:01Speaker 2: What's the difference. Oh is that a small that's his.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Yeah, that's his dicky boast is weekday one. He has
- 32:05Speaker 5: a weekend one.
- 32:06Speaker 2: What do they call it? Dicky boat?
- 32:09Speaker 1: Dingy vote?
- 32:09Speaker 2: Yeah, dingy vote a little dinghy, that's it. Dingy boat.
- 32:14Speaker 3: So those are the stories that I wanted to mention there.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Let's go to Tyson Hilton, the Western Kentucky head coach.
- 32:22Speaker 3: He previously coached at USC and Tennessee prior to getting
- 32:24Speaker 3: the head coach and gig at Western and November twenty eighteen.
- 32:27Speaker 3: You can follow coach Helton on Twitter at coach Underscore Hilton.
- 32:30Speaker 3: He was Sam Hunt's coach. We talked about that in
- 32:32Speaker 3: the interview.
- 32:33Speaker 5: Yeah Donald, yeah, oh yeah and Sam Hunt.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Sorry, yes, Sam Hunt and Sam Donald. That's true of both,
- 32:38Speaker 3: right Sam Donald ware us see oh yeah.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Here he is coach Tyson Helton coach.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Thanks for having us. You are a lot younger looking
- 32:47Speaker 1: in person.
- 32:48Speaker 8: I appreciate it.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I think on camera when you're just like intense, I
- 32:52Speaker 1: think intensity ages folks on TV.
- 32:55Speaker 8: It does you know too, Like I think I have
- 32:58Speaker 8: a hat on and the gray hair and then they
- 33:00Speaker 8: get a little gray in the beard.
- 33:01Speaker 1: So when did it start to go great? Because I'm
- 33:03Speaker 1: we're about to say, mate, I'm just called your drunny
- 33:05Speaker 1: than you. But I'm getting it like through here a
- 33:06Speaker 1: little bit.
- 33:07Speaker 8: No, mine was probably when I really know, it's probably
- 33:11Speaker 8: four or five years ago. Yeah, are you married? I
- 33:14Speaker 8: married four kids, you know.
- 33:16Speaker 1: So probably forced it earlier. Yeah, those four kids will
- 33:19Speaker 1: really bring his in one hair Eddie get hit like
- 33:21Speaker 1: nineteen Yeah, like.
- 33:22Speaker 8: You, ball will do that to you, whether to go
- 33:25Speaker 8: for it on fourth and one or kick the field goals,
- 33:29Speaker 8: it'll it'll give you some gray hairs real fast.
- 33:31Speaker 1: I feel like the last three or four years and
- 33:32Speaker 1: it maybe analytics that have allowed this, but there's a
- 33:35Speaker 1: lot a lot more going forward on fourth, not just
- 33:38Speaker 1: fourth and one, but fourth and two and a half
- 33:40Speaker 1: or less. Do you feel like the last few years
- 33:42Speaker 1: you've seen a shift not only with teams around the country,
- 33:46Speaker 1: but but even within yourself.
- 33:47Speaker 8: Yeah, most definitely. I think, first of all, I like
- 33:51Speaker 8: the book because if it does work, you can blame
- 33:53Speaker 8: the book. You know, you say, hey, we spent all
- 33:55Speaker 8: this money on analytics, so you know that's why I
- 33:57Speaker 8: went for it on fourth and two, you know. But
- 34:00Speaker 8: I do see that that shift. I think it makes
- 34:03Speaker 8: people feel better where it's not a gut feeling, and
- 34:06Speaker 8: uh so that's why you're seeing it more and more.
- 34:08Speaker 8: But it's going to continue to be that way. I mean,
- 34:10Speaker 8: it's going to continue to you're at the minus thirty
- 34:13Speaker 8: three and it's fourth and four and you're going for
- 34:16Speaker 8: it because the book tells you to. You're going to
- 34:18Speaker 8: see a lot more of that.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Do you feel like the book just wrong? Sometimes? Though
- 34:20Speaker 1: we were like that gun, there's more question.
- 34:22Speaker 8: So I got a guy up in the box and
- 34:24Speaker 8: we're in the we're in our home opener, and I'm
- 34:27Speaker 8: at the minus twenty nine and he's coach fourth or
- 34:30Speaker 8: three or less. It's a go, I'm like, b yes, okay,
- 34:34Speaker 8: what's that? Yeah? So you know, sometimes I questioned the
- 34:37Speaker 8: book a little.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Bit being an offensive guy, or at least I assume
- 34:41Speaker 3: you're an offensive guy. You were the yeah, yeah, so
- 34:44Speaker 3: be an offensive guy. I guess the problem that I
- 34:46Speaker 3: have with some of these defenses when they're up against
- 34:49Speaker 3: an offense that moves pretty quickly or all the grab
- 34:51Speaker 3: into the hamstrings to slow the game down.
- 34:53Speaker 8: Yeah, we're a little bit.
- 34:54Speaker 3: For a second, I thought when Aaron Rodgers went down,
- 34:56Speaker 3: he was slowing the game down for a split second before.
- 34:58Speaker 1: They would have just started though, I oh, I needed
- 35:00Speaker 1: a break already. But when he went down because he
- 35:02Speaker 1: was standing up and then he just falls and in
- 35:04Speaker 1: college especially right, what would you do to make that
- 35:08Speaker 1: better for folks like me who just want to watch
- 35:10Speaker 1: the game and not watch people fake injuries.
- 35:12Speaker 8: Well, if you want to solve the problem real quick,
- 35:15Speaker 8: what they need to do if a player goes down,
- 35:17Speaker 8: if the training staff has to enter the field, that
- 35:20Speaker 8: player has to stay off the field for the rest
- 35:23Speaker 8: of the series. So that would probably solve a lot
- 35:26Speaker 8: of that those issues, because what happens is you lose
- 35:30Speaker 8: a good player. He's not in there the rest of
- 35:32Speaker 8: the series, people think twice about, hey, do I want
- 35:35Speaker 8: to fake the injuries all those kind of things. But
- 35:37Speaker 8: when you're a tempo team like us, you're going to
- 35:40Speaker 8: continue to see that. I mean, it's just part of
- 35:42Speaker 8: our game right now. And they try to tell you, hey,
- 35:44Speaker 8: you can be fined or you know, all these these
- 35:47Speaker 8: discipline things can happen, but nobody follows it. Nobody can't improve.
- 35:52Speaker 1: You're not hurt. Yeah, injured, you could, but you can't
- 35:54Speaker 1: be like, no, I swear to god, that's whatear to
- 35:56Speaker 1: go guy, Judge, I's feeling it.
- 35:58Speaker 8: Well, some of them should be actors because they do
- 36:01Speaker 8: a good job faking it.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Do you teach your guys how to there's a whole
- 36:05Speaker 1: class on that.
- 36:06Speaker 9: Not at all.
- 36:06Speaker 1: We follow the rules, right, that's right, coach. Like in
- 36:10Speaker 1: the movie Rudy, the whole crowd, the whole stadium's channing
- 36:14Speaker 1: Rudy Rudy to get him in. In your experience, could
- 36:20Speaker 1: a fan base ever affect your decision on who to
- 36:23Speaker 1: put in or not?
- 36:25Speaker 8: I would say yes. I could say yes if it
- 36:28Speaker 8: was the right situation at the right time. I think
- 36:31Speaker 8: if there's a player that the fans love and you
- 36:34Speaker 8: know they want to see him play, and you know it,
- 36:38Speaker 8: yeah I could. I could see myself doing that. First
- 36:41Speaker 8: of all, I love the movie Rudy, So I think
- 36:43Speaker 8: you know that that would be a classic example. Hey,
- 36:46Speaker 8: get get the fans favorite in you know.
- 36:48Speaker 1: So who who are your favorite A couple of your
- 36:50Speaker 1: favorite guys that you've coached over the last five six years,
- 36:53Speaker 1: maybe not just in here, but like Tennessee, USC like
- 36:56Speaker 1: that as people you're just like man regardless of where
- 36:59Speaker 1: they go.
- 37:00Speaker 8: I tell you what, because it's in your industry. When
- 37:03Speaker 8: I was at UAB, I coached Sam Hunt for a year,
- 37:06Speaker 8: so I had an opportunity to be around Sam. He
- 37:09Speaker 8: was one of my favorite guys. I love Sam. Probably
- 37:12Speaker 8: another good one, Sam Darnold USC. You know, we won
- 37:15Speaker 8: the Rose Bowl with Sam there. That was that was huge,
- 37:18Speaker 8: you know. And then you get here and I mean
- 37:21Speaker 8: you got Brandon Dowdy who played in the NFL. You
- 37:24Speaker 8: got Mike White played in the NFL. Now you got
- 37:28Speaker 8: Bailey Zappy in the NFL. And then who you guys
- 37:31Speaker 8: will get to see later Austin Reid, who you know
- 37:33Speaker 8: is killing it right now. So there's been a lot
- 37:34Speaker 8: of good ones I've had opportunity to coach.
- 37:36Speaker 1: What are those guys all have in common?
- 37:38Speaker 8: Characteristically? They have a killer instinct they all have. They
- 37:43Speaker 8: all have that cutthroat mentality, that competitive mentality about them
- 37:47Speaker 8: when they could be the nicest guys on the field
- 37:50Speaker 8: but off the field, but when they walk on that field, man,
- 37:53Speaker 8: they're they're trying to get after it. I mean, they've
- 37:55Speaker 8: all kind of had kind of that linebacker mentality even
- 37:59Speaker 8: though they play quarter back. They don't mind mixing it
- 38:01Speaker 8: up and in clutch time when you need it the most,
- 38:05Speaker 8: they usually come through for you.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Do you ever have to tell your guys, for example,
- 38:10Speaker 1: Josh Allen likes run through people.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Or Anthony richardson his first year this year in the NFL,
- 38:14Speaker 3: he's quite physical, even just through Like, Hey, I need
- 38:18Speaker 3: you to go down and not risk yourself as much.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Does that happen with you? Is that a weird conversation
- 38:23Speaker 1: to have, like hustle less?
- 38:24Speaker 8: Well, yes and no. Like Austin, our current quarterback, I
- 38:27Speaker 8: don't mind running him. He's a physical guy. You know,
- 38:30Speaker 8: he doesn't mind running the football. But there are times
- 38:34Speaker 8: where I'm like, hey, dude, you need to get down,
- 38:36Speaker 8: you know, when they scramble and they're in the middle
- 38:39Speaker 8: of the field, I get a little concerned, you know,
- 38:42Speaker 8: And so that's when I'm telling him usually and a
- 38:44Speaker 8: lot of these guys are still sliding, and I think
- 38:47Speaker 8: you're giving yourself up even more for injury. And I
- 38:50Speaker 8: tell the guys, hey, go cut the inside leg of
- 38:52Speaker 8: the defender who's coming at you, you know, because like
- 38:55Speaker 8: I told you, these are aggressive guys that want to
- 38:57Speaker 8: run anyways, you're probably most perte to doing that. But yeah,
- 39:01Speaker 8: there are times when I'm sitting there going, dude, get
- 39:03Speaker 8: down for me.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Coach, How did the headsets work? Like who are you
- 39:06Speaker 1: talking to? Are there different channels? Like if I want
- 39:09Speaker 1: to talk to OC, this is one channel? Or are
- 39:12Speaker 1: you all talking to the same mass chaos?
- 39:14Speaker 8: It is mass chaos. There's twenty people on the headset.
- 39:17Speaker 8: Everybody's talking at once. Somebody's dog cussing somebody else. I'm
- 39:22Speaker 8: trying to call a play, you know, the on line
- 39:25Speaker 8: coach is hollering at the offensive line. He doesn't have
- 39:28Speaker 8: his headset and channel that all the mask cho I
- 39:31Speaker 8: don't care where you go. I don't care where you go.
- 39:35Speaker 8: I wish you want to have total entertainment. Let what's
- 39:40Speaker 8: being said on the headset be broadcasted. It would make millions.
- 39:44Speaker 8: I mean, it's unbelievable what goes on on those heads.
- 39:47Speaker 7: So do you have to say, hey, everybody, shut up,
- 39:49Speaker 7: I'm saying something right now.
- 39:49Speaker 8: Oh yeah, all the time.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Usually it's not that nice, like an override button, like
- 39:54Speaker 1: to overwrite everybody, like a god button to where your
- 39:57Speaker 1: feed even goes over the PA.
- 40:00Speaker 3: That would be an ultimate god button to do that
- 40:03Speaker 3: when you're talking to your coaches and you're on the
- 40:05Speaker 3: headset and you guys are communicating. I was watching a
- 40:07Speaker 3: thing where there are certain organizations who they have accused
- 40:12Speaker 3: of making sure the system don't.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Run as properly. Have you ever been somebody you have
- 40:16Speaker 1: to say?
- 40:16Speaker 2: Who say?
- 40:16Speaker 1: Where? Have you ever been somewhere where you're like, I
- 40:18Speaker 1: think they're kind of messing with our equipment.
- 40:20Speaker 8: Yeah, I've had several of that. I've had several of that.
- 40:23Speaker 8: Whether that's true or not, I don't know. They're supposed
- 40:26Speaker 8: to shut both systems down when that happens. But you know,
- 40:29Speaker 8: sometimes if you're out of major power five and there's
- 40:32Speaker 8: one hundred thousand people there, and you know, you're Western
- 40:35Speaker 8: Kentucky and they're supposed to shut it down and it
- 40:38Speaker 8: doesn't shut you know, like, hey, did you shut theirs down?
- 40:41Speaker 4: No?
- 40:41Speaker 8: They still got it. You know that that goes on
- 40:43Speaker 8: a little bit, but there's nothing you can do about it.
- 40:46Speaker 8: The good thing for us, we can control all signals
- 40:49Speaker 8: and communication right there from the sidelines. So it sucks
- 40:53Speaker 8: for the guys up in the box, but we still
- 40:55Speaker 8: have full control on the sidelines.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Can you guys go full hand signals if everything shuts down?
- 41:00Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 41:01Speaker 1: Yeah, And whenever you guys are doing let's say you're
- 41:04Speaker 1: doing signals or you got two or three guys doing it.
- 41:07Speaker 1: When I played baseball, you know, there was an indicator
- 41:10Speaker 1: and then after the indicator was the sign. But they're
- 41:12Speaker 1: like multiple people doing signs. Are there just decoy sign
- 41:14Speaker 1: givers who are really doing nothing? But I don't know
- 41:17Speaker 1: dancing basically?
- 41:18Speaker 8: There is Yeah, there's there's guys. There's fake headsets. There's
- 41:21Speaker 8: guys that have headsets on that look like there's a big.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Purple on with a McDonald's. I knew that wasn't really
- 41:26Speaker 1: I knew that he's taking an order for a burger.
- 41:29Speaker 8: You got that going on? You got three or four signalers.
- 41:32Speaker 8: You got the big screens trying to block, you know,
- 41:35Speaker 8: from people in the box stealing signals. You know, our
- 41:38Speaker 8: signals are so sophisticated. We we don't have multiple signalers.
- 41:42Speaker 8: We just have we just have one guy doing it.
- 41:44Speaker 8: But we have probably five different signals for for every formation,
- 41:48Speaker 8: every route, every run. So there's a lot in multiple
- 41:52Speaker 8: for one, oh just in case, oh yeah, and do
- 41:53Speaker 8: you switch them out each game?
- 41:55Speaker 1: Or we just called like all right, we're gonna go
- 41:57Speaker 1: through on level three at halftime, can you switch it
- 41:59Speaker 1: case you think? Very conscientious?
- 42:01Speaker 8: So, and also to whatever the quarterback signals out there
- 42:04Speaker 8: to the skill players, if he wants to do something,
- 42:07Speaker 8: he's conscientious, So all right, I'm not giving that same
- 42:09Speaker 8: signal again. That signal's done with for the rest of
- 42:12Speaker 8: the night. So there's a lot that goes into that piece.
- 42:15Speaker 1: A lot of these colleges have, you know, like Ohio
- 42:17Speaker 1: State has the stickers you know for accolades. Georgia has
- 42:20Speaker 1: like the big old chain. Do you guys have anything
- 42:22Speaker 1: like that here?
- 42:23Speaker 8: No, there's so much to keep up with with all
- 42:26Speaker 8: that and all the stickers, and I like my helmet
- 42:29Speaker 8: clean like you look at that.
- 42:30Speaker 2: I like the clean helmet.
- 42:31Speaker 8: I like a clean helmet. So we do things to
- 42:34Speaker 8: reward them after the game, and we have a big
- 42:37Speaker 8: board up on the wall and it has their picture
- 42:39Speaker 8: and it says hey, offensive MVP or Special Teams MVP.
- 42:43Speaker 8: They really like that. But I like a clean uniform.
- 42:46Speaker 8: So we don't do any of that stuff.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Being Conference USA, you know of the schools that aren't
- 42:52Speaker 1: Power five, Like this is the powerful conference that's not
- 42:55Speaker 1: Power five yet.
- 42:56Speaker 3: I mean everybody's moving around, who knows. But do you
- 42:59Speaker 3: feel like you guys are benefiting from the trans transfer
- 43:02Speaker 3: portal being here in like the prime spot, I mean
- 43:06Speaker 3: basically one half level below the Power five schools.
- 43:09Speaker 8: Yeah, I definitely think so. When when the transfer portal
- 43:13Speaker 8: was coming about, we knew it was going to happen.
- 43:16Speaker 8: That's when I went and got Bailey Zappy, you know,
- 43:18Speaker 8: Bailey's Appy FCS Houston Baptist at the time, Now Houston Christian.
- 43:23Speaker 8: Nobody was really looking out there, you know, at the
- 43:26Speaker 8: lower levels like that. Now they don't care. They'll go
- 43:29Speaker 8: to Vision two, they'll go to SCS. But I think
- 43:32Speaker 8: what we got ahead of the game there, and it
- 43:34Speaker 8: really put us on the map, kind of like the
- 43:36Speaker 8: transfer you school to go to. If you didn't go
- 43:39Speaker 8: to Power five, you were coming to Western Kentucky. We've
- 43:43Speaker 8: gotten some really, really good players, but you have to
- 43:46Speaker 8: stay ahead of the game in the transfer portal because
- 43:48Speaker 8: now it's flooded. Everybody's doing the same thing. So you
- 43:51Speaker 8: got to change some things up. You know, Austin Reid,
- 43:55Speaker 8: you know nobody was going into the Division two market.
- 43:58Speaker 8: We go get Austin Redi's the number one path from
- 44:00Speaker 8: the country last year. Now you're seeing everybody. They don't
- 44:03Speaker 8: care anymore. They're going at all levels. So you got
- 44:06Speaker 8: to stay one step out of a game. You got
- 44:07Speaker 8: to keep mixing it up.
- 44:08Speaker 1: How would you remedy the poaching problem where if you
- 44:12Speaker 1: have a star player, there are certain programs that are
- 44:14Speaker 1: calling trying to get those players to enter the portal.
- 44:17Speaker 8: Well, I think I don't have an answer for that.
- 44:21Speaker 8: I think that the more the closer, if we're going
- 44:24Speaker 8: to have nil and transfer portal together, I think the
- 44:28Speaker 8: NFL model, the closest we can get to. An NFL
- 44:31Speaker 8: model would be great. I don't mind talking about this
- 44:34Speaker 8: at all. Needs to be a national database, says exactly
- 44:37Speaker 8: what everybody's nil is, so there's no BS. Everybody knows
- 44:43Speaker 8: if you're going to transfer, there has to be full
- 44:46Speaker 8: disclosure of what is happening, what does that look like,
- 44:50Speaker 8: all those things prior to happening. You know, these are
- 44:52Speaker 8: all things that are hush us right now. Nobody wants
- 44:55Speaker 8: to talk about it, but it's all happening out there.
- 44:57Speaker 8: It's widespread. I think there's when there's more transparency, everybody's
- 45:02Speaker 8: open and honest, and you have a more of an
- 45:04Speaker 8: NFL model, you'll start to have some situation where you
- 45:09Speaker 8: don't see poaching as much. You can sit down and
- 45:11Speaker 8: have real conversations. Because you look at Austin Reid last year.
- 45:15Speaker 8: Austin goes into transfer portal. He can go anywhere. I mean,
- 45:18Speaker 8: he can go anywhere, but because we had open, honest
- 45:21Speaker 8: conversations about who was looking at, what he was thinking,
- 45:25Speaker 8: what the benefits for of staying at Western Kentucky, he
- 45:28Speaker 8: decides to stay. Right So, if you can get into
- 45:31Speaker 8: those conversations earlier in there's transparency with the data, I
- 45:35Speaker 8: think you'll have more people that won't leave you, or
- 45:38Speaker 8: it'll be cleaner process.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I've done probably twenty or twenty five and il deals
- 45:43Speaker 1: with players for different projects, and you're right, you can
- 45:46Speaker 1: do whatever you want. Basically nobody has to know anything.
- 45:50Speaker 1: And it's got to the point too where you just
- 45:52Speaker 1: hit up the player just like hey, what up.
- 45:54Speaker 3: And so the fact that there are no rules and
- 45:57Speaker 3: it's the wild West, it's almost as if everything has
- 45:59Speaker 3: to go wrong before somebody wants to fix it. Because
- 46:02Speaker 3: nobody's going to fix something that's just kind of bad,
- 46:06Speaker 3: and especially when the big schools are benefiting from it.
- 46:08Speaker 1: What has to go wrong in order for people to
- 46:10Speaker 1: go We need to make this rule change. Because I
- 46:12Speaker 1: agree with what you're.
- 46:13Speaker 8: Saying, well, I think it's coming. Make no mistake, the
- 46:16Speaker 8: NC double A is coming. They are coming, and a
- 46:20Speaker 8: couple of teams are going to get pounded. And when
- 46:22Speaker 8: they get pounded, I'm talking about sanctioned and the whole deal.
- 46:25Speaker 8: It is coming. When that happens, everybody will throw up
- 46:28Speaker 8: their hands and say, all right, we need reform. We
- 46:30Speaker 8: need to get this thing cleaned up. Everybody right now
- 46:33Speaker 8: thinks it's a wild wild West. Through the history of time,
- 46:35Speaker 8: the NC double A is like the irs, you are
- 46:38Speaker 8: going to pay your taxes. They are eventually coming. So
- 46:41Speaker 8: if you're not doing it the right way and you're
- 46:44Speaker 8: you're just blatant out there, you are going to get caught.
- 46:48Speaker 8: So that's what's going to eventually happen.
- 46:50Speaker 1: NCAA comeback player of the Year. Everybody kind of counts
- 46:53Speaker 1: them out right now, they're going to show up again
- 46:55Speaker 1: and get the bigger war. Coach, when you're recruiting, what
- 46:59Speaker 1: where is the punter and the kicker come in? Are
- 47:01Speaker 1: they like, oh, shoot, we forgot to get a punter.
- 47:03Speaker 8: And a kicker, or like, no, I'm a huge special
- 47:06Speaker 8: team I'm so that's that's funny. I am a huge
- 47:11Speaker 8: special teams guy. So part of my coaching career I
- 47:13Speaker 8: was a special teams coordinator. I got to coach Stephen Goskowski,
- 47:17Speaker 8: who was the kicker for New England Patriots, great kicker.
- 47:21Speaker 8: When I got to coach him, I realized how important
- 47:24Speaker 8: a great kicker is. So all my guys are on scholarship.
- 47:28Speaker 8: Long snapper, punter, kicker. They're all worth the scholarship because
- 47:32Speaker 8: you look at those sidelines for the game win field goal,
- 47:35Speaker 8: people are praying, they're on their knees or biting towels,
- 47:38Speaker 8: or they're in a huddle. You know they're circled up.
- 47:40Speaker 8: It's an important position, so we scholarship them all.
- 47:45Speaker 1: As a special teams coordinator, how many ways are there
- 47:48Speaker 1: to go down, kick the ball and tackle, because I
- 47:51Speaker 1: you know, I've seen a lot of blown coverage. I
- 47:53Speaker 1: mean games, easy, right, right, you kick them all, you
- 47:55Speaker 1: stay in your lane, you go down, you tackle Like,
- 47:58Speaker 1: what am I missing? How can that not go right
- 48:01Speaker 1: over and over again for the same team.
- 48:02Speaker 8: Well, it is total chaos. We'll start with that. If
- 48:06Speaker 8: the kicks not long enough, it's not deep enough. If
- 48:09Speaker 8: the returner we always say, hey, take the pitch you
- 48:12Speaker 8: can hit. You're a baseball player. When you get that
- 48:14Speaker 8: right pitch man, at the perfect timing, you're going to
- 48:16Speaker 8: crank it out of the park.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Right.
- 48:18Speaker 8: Well, that's when that usually happens. Kicker doesn't get it
- 48:21Speaker 8: high enough. A returner got a pitch he can hit.
- 48:24Speaker 8: Now he gets vision, he's he runs four three four four,
- 48:28Speaker 8: he's running right at you full speed. They got the blocks.
- 48:31Speaker 8: That's right, That's why you see all that. That's why too,
- 48:34Speaker 8: it's great to have a kicker on kickoff that gets
- 48:36Speaker 8: great touchbacks, you know, so you never have to have
- 48:39Speaker 8: that a punter that has great handtime, so you're always
- 48:42Speaker 8: getting the fair catch signal. Or if you don't have
- 48:44Speaker 8: that guy rugby punt, you got to move him around.
- 48:46Speaker 8: We call him say, we say, hey, hit dirty balls.
- 48:49Speaker 8: You know those ugly dirty balls that nobody wants to field.
- 48:52Speaker 8: So those are the things you got to do. But
- 48:54Speaker 8: that's the beauty of our game. You're gonna have that.
- 48:56Speaker 8: I mean, you look at the other night in the
- 48:58Speaker 8: Jets game. Yeah, that's how they won the game. I mean,
- 49:01Speaker 8: that's the National Football League best of the best, and
- 49:03Speaker 8: they go win the game on a on a punt return.
- 49:05Speaker 1: If I wasn't specialty to the corner, that never happened
- 49:08Speaker 1: in your lane. Don't get out of your lane, make
- 49:10Speaker 1: the tackle.
- 49:11Speaker 8: I tell you what you need to do while you're
- 49:13Speaker 8: here is you need to catch punch from the from
- 49:16Speaker 8: the drug machine and put a helmet on and put
- 49:20Speaker 8: on shoulder pads. And it's hard. It's hard.
- 49:23Speaker 1: Maybe for you coach.
- 49:24Speaker 8: It's because the ball moves. Yeah, the ball moves and
- 49:27Speaker 8: all that. But you'll get a better understanding too of like, hey,
- 49:29Speaker 8: I got a pitch I can hit, I can I
- 49:31Speaker 8: can catch this one and take this one to the house.
- 49:33Speaker 1: I only returned to punt once playing high school football,
- 49:36Speaker 1: and I was playing. Listen, I don't like to get
- 49:38Speaker 1: a hit, coach, I'm be honest with you. I don't
- 49:40Speaker 1: like to play defense.
- 49:41Speaker 4: I was.
- 49:42Speaker 1: I was an h back, slot receiver. Didn't like to
- 49:45Speaker 1: play defense back and catch, and so they would.
- 49:46Speaker 3: Put me on any sort of you know, prevent nickel,
- 49:50Speaker 3: any of that. I've played defensive back. And so all
- 49:53Speaker 3: of a sudden we realized they we're gonna punt instead
- 49:55Speaker 3: of go for it. And my head coach like, get
- 49:57Speaker 3: back and catch the punt.
- 49:58Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh god, oh no, no, no. So
- 50:00Speaker 1: I'm backing up. I'm backing up and snap kicking. The
- 50:04Speaker 1: ball is up in the air, and in my life
- 50:06Speaker 1: it's slow motion.
- 50:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:09Speaker 3: I make the mistake of looking down to see everybody
- 50:12Speaker 3: running at me. Oh god, And so I run from
- 50:17Speaker 3: the ball.
- 50:17Speaker 1: I think I just got out of the way.
- 50:19Speaker 8: We were smart. I just let it hit.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:21Speaker 8: Smart.
- 50:21Speaker 1: I didn't try to field it.
- 50:22Speaker 8: And the number one job of the returners give the
- 50:24Speaker 8: ball back to the offense. So I tell my guys
- 50:26Speaker 8: all the time, if you if you don't like how
- 50:28Speaker 8: it's looking, get the heck away. Make a poison call,
- 50:31Speaker 8: point at it, get everybody away.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Peter and ran it's poisoned. Now Peter is Peter bad?
- 50:37Speaker 8: Now now you can say they say Peter still too,
- 50:39Speaker 8: But a lot of teams say poison.
- 50:41Speaker 1: We go Peter, And I yelled Peter on myself, Peter,
- 50:44Speaker 1: just I dodn't want, I don't want. Another thing I
- 50:47Speaker 1: did was the coin toss.
- 50:49Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, that's a good one.
- 50:52Speaker 3: I'm pretty smart guy, generally, I think. And so I
- 50:55Speaker 3: go in and I was captain my senior year, and
- 50:59Speaker 3: we go and it's all right, let's do the coin toss. Well,
- 51:02Speaker 3: they flipped a coin, and I remember my coach.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Being like, all right, we're gonna we want to play defense.
- 51:08Speaker 1: We want to play defense. Uh huh, we're gonna stop them.
- 51:11Speaker 1: We want to play defense. So we go, they flipped
- 51:13Speaker 1: the coin, boom, and uh they win the coin toss
- 51:17Speaker 1: and they defer, and I go, okay, we're playing defense. Now.
- 51:21Speaker 1: What happened is we played defense to start the game
- 51:24Speaker 1: and a half time. And I didn't know that was possible.
- 51:28Speaker 8: Well, I've seen some mess ups too. I've I've had
- 51:32Speaker 8: a deal we were playing in a in a might
- 51:34Speaker 8: have all been a hurricane, and I said, which way
- 51:37Speaker 8: I wanted to kick? I mean, it's pretty obvious which
- 51:40Speaker 8: way you want to kick. And the poor kids said,
- 51:42Speaker 8: we want to kick that way, right into the middle
- 51:44Speaker 8: of the damn hurricane. So I've been a part of
- 51:47Speaker 8: those things too.
- 51:48Speaker 1: I remember my coach.
- 51:49Speaker 3: Got by the face mask and he said, you're one
- 51:51Speaker 3: of the smartest people I've ever coached, but that's the
- 51:52Speaker 3: dumbest blanket thing I've ever seen in my life.
- 51:54Speaker 1: In front of everybody. It was like silent, and I.
- 51:57Speaker 8: Was like, you know, nowadays the rest so they at
- 51:59Speaker 8: least at the major levels, they don't let you screw
- 52:02Speaker 8: it up usually that you know. They talked to me,
- 52:05Speaker 8: the coach, what do you think, And I'll say, hey,
- 52:07Speaker 8: I want to defer. I don't know which way I'm
- 52:09Speaker 8: kicking yet, but I want to defer. And if they
- 52:12Speaker 8: screw it up, He'll go, oh, hold it, son, and
- 52:14Speaker 8: they'll look they did do that.
- 52:17Speaker 1: What was Sam Hunt like as a player?
- 52:18Speaker 8: Fantastic player, fantastic man. You know, had a little bit
- 52:24Speaker 8: you went to camp, you know, I can't remember if
- 52:26Speaker 8: it was Cleveland or somebody, but maybe Kansas City. Yeah,
- 52:30Speaker 8: just a really good college football player, you know, team
- 52:33Speaker 8: captain type guy. Even even back then, you knew he
- 52:37Speaker 8: was going to be a big time singer. I mean
- 52:38Speaker 8: he'd stand up in front of the team and sing
- 52:40Speaker 8: and all those stuff. But just that guy, the great
- 52:43Speaker 8: American quarterback, you know, just the guy you wanted to
- 52:46Speaker 8: be around all the time. Loved them to death, was
- 52:48Speaker 8: a great player to coach, you know, it was awesome.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Was he a leader?
- 52:51Speaker 8: Great leader? Great leader in which every quarterback has to be.
- 52:55Speaker 8: Right now, he was a jokester too.
- 52:58Speaker 1: So it's not the same. I know, and I know
- 53:00Speaker 1: Sam pretty good. He's not much of a jokester any.
- 53:01Speaker 10: No, he was.
- 53:03Speaker 8: He was a jokester. I mean he loved the prank guy.
- 53:06Speaker 8: So our strength coach was kind of this really big,
- 53:10Speaker 8: rough guy and you know he that's all you ever
- 53:14Speaker 8: thought about was weightlifting and all this stuff. And well
- 53:17Speaker 8: Sam called him one time and did a voice and
- 53:21Speaker 8: was basically acting like another strength coach from another school
- 53:25Speaker 8: and asking him questions. And he was asking the most
- 53:27Speaker 8: of serbs, stuff like you know, hey do you wear
- 53:30Speaker 8: a jockstrap when you lift? And hey do you you
- 53:33Speaker 8: know all this kind of stuff, and I mean, he
- 53:36Speaker 8: had him going for like fifteen minutes straight. You know,
- 53:38Speaker 8: that's the Sam I remember. You know he was quiet,
- 53:41Speaker 8: very nice guy, loved to be around them, but he
- 53:44Speaker 8: had that he had that prankster and.
- 53:45Speaker 1: That's funny, right, Final three questions.
- 53:47Speaker 7: Yeah, coach, you have four kids. You mentioned do you
- 53:51Speaker 7: want to play football?
- 53:53Speaker 8: I mean what they can do whatever they want to do.
- 53:56Speaker 8: All all of my kids. My oldest is academic, but
- 53:58Speaker 8: she's a sophore or University of Oregon. She's my she's
- 54:02Speaker 8: my academic person. It's not an athlete. The other three,
- 54:05Speaker 8: my middle daughter and my twin boys, they're all athletes.
- 54:09Speaker 8: They play whatever sports, football, across whatever's going on in season.
- 54:13Speaker 8: I've always told them this, I said, you can do
- 54:16Speaker 8: whatever you want to do, but if you sign up
- 54:19Speaker 8: for a sport, or you sign up for a team,
- 54:21Speaker 8: you're giving it your whole heart. You're you're playing the
- 54:24Speaker 8: whole season and that and that's the way it's always been.
- 54:28Speaker 8: A lot of coaches are that way, though they don't
- 54:30Speaker 8: push their kids to the sport. I guess because we
- 54:32Speaker 8: do it for a living and it's just we're around
- 54:34Speaker 8: it so much, and you know, so I let them
- 54:38Speaker 8: do what they want. To do, but yeah, they like
- 54:40Speaker 8: to be around it.
- 54:41Speaker 1: What's your schedule like during football season midweek?
- 54:45Speaker 3: Is it all football all the time or does your
- 54:47Speaker 3: wife say you don't call your coach obviously unless she does,
- 54:50Speaker 3: and that's cool. She's like coach because I travel a
- 54:54Speaker 3: lot and tour and my wife's like, hey, sometimes we
- 54:57Speaker 3: have to focus and remember we're family. Yeah, do you
- 55:00Speaker 3: have to set aside time or is that after football season?
- 55:03Speaker 8: No? Well, here's the beauty of my job here. One.
- 55:06Speaker 8: When you're the boss and you're the head coach, you
- 55:08Speaker 8: get to do that. I have more luxuries of spending
- 55:11Speaker 8: time with the family. Earlier in my career and when
- 55:15Speaker 8: I was at the big time places the us c's
- 55:17Speaker 8: and the University of Tennessee's, I slept on my couch
- 55:20Speaker 8: three four nights a week. I mean, I literally it
- 55:23Speaker 8: was like a frat house. You just your feet hit
- 55:25Speaker 8: the floor at five am and you went to bed
- 55:27Speaker 8: at three am. So it was all ball all the time. Here,
- 55:31Speaker 8: why I'm so blessed. It's still all ball all the time.
- 55:35Speaker 8: But I eat lunch with my wife every single day,
- 55:37Speaker 8: you know, so whether it's you know, twelve o'clock lunch,
- 55:40Speaker 8: you know, we we'll hook up, go to somewhere eat
- 55:43Speaker 8: forty five minutes. And this is a great town, Bawling Green,
- 55:46Speaker 8: so you can get anywhere in fifteen minutes, so that
- 55:49Speaker 8: little bit of time is awesome. My kids come up here,
- 55:52Speaker 8: like my daughter will work out in the weight room,
- 55:54Speaker 8: my boys will work out, so I'd get a lot
- 55:57Speaker 8: of family time in.
- 55:58Speaker 1: What are you most proud of so far of your
- 56:01Speaker 1: job here at Western Kentucky.
- 56:04Speaker 8: The biggest thing for me is what we've been able
- 56:08Speaker 8: to accomplish. I've always from a football standpoint, I've always said,
- 56:12Speaker 8: you want to be a part of the national conversation.
- 56:14Speaker 1: What do you know for?
- 56:15Speaker 8: What is your brand known for? Well, we're known for
- 56:18Speaker 8: you know, high powered offenses, great quarterbacks, you know, exciting
- 56:24Speaker 8: games to watch, you know, big wins, all those kind
- 56:27Speaker 8: of things. But probably from the personal side of it,
- 56:31Speaker 8: for me, it's when I'm walking around in this town
- 56:35Speaker 8: or our players are walking around in this town. We
- 56:38Speaker 8: represent the best of Bowling Green, Kentucky. You know, everybody
- 56:42Speaker 8: can look us in the eye and say, hey, they
- 56:45Speaker 8: represent us. You know, they're great people, honorable people, they
- 56:50Speaker 8: do it the right way. So I get a win
- 56:53Speaker 8: win in that area.
- 56:54Speaker 3: Coach, we appreciate you having us here. The facilities are awesome.
- 56:57Speaker 3: We've been to a lot of places.
- 56:58Speaker 1: And there are some big time programs that have garbage facilities.
- 57:02Speaker 1: It's crazy. I'm not gonna say it on the microphone.
- 57:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna say who it is, but we're just there
- 57:07Speaker 1: are some that are fantastic and there are some where
- 57:10Speaker 1: you go, I thought this was a major program.
- 57:14Speaker 2: This is really nice.
- 57:15Speaker 1: Yeah, you get so.
- 57:15Speaker 8: I appreciate.
- 57:16Speaker 1: I hope you're real proud of of kind of what
- 57:18Speaker 1: you've built here. But yeah, we appreciate the hospitality. You
- 57:21Speaker 1: get the best mascot in sports behind the razor, the
- 57:24Speaker 1: mascot in sports.
- 57:26Speaker 2: That's right.
- 57:26Speaker 1: You ever have a color that you feel weird? Don't
- 57:27Speaker 1: say what color, which one, but you coach played for
- 57:29Speaker 1: places you have a color you feel weird.
- 57:30Speaker 8: In very much?
- 57:32Speaker 3: So, yeah, very much, because that would be the weird
- 57:35Speaker 3: thing about being a coach is always have to wear
- 57:36Speaker 3: that colors.
- 57:37Speaker 1: Well, it's like when Aaron Rodgers was in the light
- 57:39Speaker 1: green that was just weird when he was a packer
- 57:41Speaker 1: and that was a different green and yellow. But some
- 57:44Speaker 1: colors just look weird.
- 57:45Speaker 8: I've been and I've been in some some bold colors too.
- 57:48Speaker 8: Now I've been in a lot of bold colors, you
- 57:50Speaker 8: know of a different program. So yeah, I've never had
- 57:54Speaker 8: that question. But that's a good one. I like that
- 57:56Speaker 8: one for sure.
- 57:57Speaker 1: I would make my decision based on that. All right,
- 57:58Speaker 1: So I got three offers.
- 57:59Speaker 2: Don't want to wear that.
- 58:00Speaker 1: I hate Pewter, so I'm not going to go over there. Coach,
- 58:03Speaker 1: thank you so much, really.
- 58:04Speaker 8: Appreciate I'd luck appreciate it.
- 58:05Speaker 2: Man, Thank you, all right, thanks Coach Shelton.

- 59:14Speaker 3: We gotta do our promise bet and if we miss it,
- 59:17Speaker 3: we put ten bucks in. It's one bet. I cannot
- 59:19Speaker 3: use my parley bet because I picked the money line.
- 59:21Speaker 3: It wasn't quite the line. Promise me to bet Eddie.
- 59:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna promise you guys that I just don't think
- 59:28Speaker 1: the Giants are gonna win another game.
- 59:30Speaker 2: Like they're just all over the place.
- 59:32Speaker 1: Their confidence is down the drain, they're not playing well,
- 59:35Speaker 1: and they're playing the Commanders at home. The Commanders are
- 59:38Speaker 1: minus two and a half. So I promise you the
- 59:41Speaker 1: Washington Commanders will cover that. It's always when I think
- 59:46Speaker 1: a team sucks and never ever will win again. I
- 59:49Speaker 1: thought about it when they win. I know I thought
- 59:51Speaker 1: about that, but I can't. I gotta just I remember
- 59:53Speaker 1: how bad they are.
- 59:54Speaker 5: I got you Daniel Jones playing.
- 59:57Speaker 2: That's a good question because he was hurt. I don't
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: know the answer to that either right now.
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: I mean, tyro Red is not awful, but just of question.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Reid, promise me a game.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I'm going with the Buccaneers minus two point
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: five against the Falcons.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: At home Bucks minus two and a half.
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: Yeah, that's pretty good that I thought about that one too.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: I'm big Baker guy, big Baker guy, big Baker guy, Kevin.
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: I'm going to go with Tennessee at Alabama plus nine.
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: I think they go on the road. I don't think
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: they win but they'll cover that plus nine. I'll be
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: there really.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Yeah, going to the game, going down Tuskie. Yeah, you
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: going by yourself? Yeah, no you're not.
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: No, no, oh no, I'm going with two friends girl.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Yeah, two girls? Two girls?
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: Are you doing like a Jack Tripper three company where
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: they don't know you were with both of them one
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: on one side, ones on the other and you're always
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: switching sides and hat and you're like oh no, and
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: you walk over here like in the Alabama hat there,
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: like they switched out real quick. That'd be awesome. Yeah,
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: I'm going USC minus seven. It's at USC against Utah.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: I think they bounce back. Yeah, Utah's good, but not really.
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: That cam Rising thing is weird.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: It is weird.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: What's weird about it? Just like, yeah, there are two things.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: The cam Rising is weird. I'm not saying anything suspicious,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: but it's weird. In the in Cleveland, that quarterback situation
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: is weird too. What are they not telling us about
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Shaun Watson?
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: Yes?
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: No, I mean they already told us that, but like,
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: what's what else has happened? I don't know? Me smells something.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: Fishyh So okay, those are our promise bets were good.
- 1:01:31Speaker 9: There.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Okay, let's do let's do this or that and then
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: we're gonna get close to the end.
- 1:01:36Speaker 6: Here.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: Are you ready ready? Would you rather have all you
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: guys can play?
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: Come on, you have to have one be your quarterback
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: only for the next three seasons, so we're not letting
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: age affect anything.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Next three sins Lamar or Herbert, Lamar, Jackson Herbert, We'll
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: go Lamar.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Do you care?
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Red?
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: No, that's all right. Why Eddie?
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Why Lamar? I mean he's just better than Herbert. I
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: mean we've been talking about it. We don't know what's
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: so good about Herbert. I haven't seen anything special. What
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: makes me think is gonna get better?
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Kevin?
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: Same with Lamar. Lamar's is up and down. He gets hurt.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Lamar's an MVP tho, yeah, you've seen him. I felt
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: like a decade ago. That's because COVID happened. Man, you
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: are you mad at science?
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: That's right, that's right.
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: But I'm mad at Lamar for getting hurt all the time.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: I would go Lamar, but it's close.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: Would you like to have a stadium if you got
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: to build one for your team to be an open
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: air stadium?
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Or a dome. Eddie, give me the dome, Kevin.
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: Give me the open air, I mean the fresh air.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: You know what.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: I'm gonna take open air, but only because I would
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: only own a team in the South that would be warm,
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: right well, the weather's good, yeah yeah, but domes domes
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: are fun. Oh yeah, man, you just have complete control
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: of your I would go open air, though, who would
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: you rather have on your team? You get one wide receiver,
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: Jamar Chase or Tyreek Tyreek Hill Jamar Chase. I would
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: take Jamar Chase too. Why it's three years. I feel
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: like overall he's a better wide receiver.
- 1:03:04Speaker 5: Yeah, I think, oh, imagine him in that offense.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: Tyreek's fast, and Tyrak's top three receiver maybe top one
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: right now even.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: But but you got to put Jamar in the same category.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: I think Jamar just can do a little bit of
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: everything as a wide receiver, where Tyreek is not really
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: going to go one on one at a high ball,
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: on a fade, or go across the middle, be physical
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: like Jamar can doesn't always He's He's not DK Metcalf.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: I'm not saying he is, but but it's close. They're
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: both awesome, is why I asked that, would you rather
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: have Bosa or Parsons?
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: Michael Parsons, Parsons all day? Yeah, take your time on this.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: I know they're very similar to me for Nick or Joey.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Who are we talking about?
- 1:03:47Speaker 7: You know what?
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Any both Bosas or a Bosa ball you could buy one,
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: or a Bosa speaker.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: I'll go Parsons, that's Bose. Would you rather.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: Go to a big game, not the Super Bowl, but
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: like a wildcard game for your team in the playoffs,
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: or get a new mass of one hundred inch TV
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: and watch it at home?
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: You get to keep TV TV TV. Yeah, TV man.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: The game experience is it's tough, it's awesome, but then
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: it's over, I.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: Know, yeah, and you kind of feel like you're like, wait,
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: I don't even know what just happened.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: Would you want to sit in a baller suite with food,
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: all the TVs done it, the cake thing coming through
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: cake card all that?
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: Or right on the fifty yard line? Oh, can the
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: sweep be on the fifty yard line?
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Cannot like down first row, fifty yard line. I've never
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: done that, So I'm going to go fifty yard line,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: first row.
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna go with the suite baller everything, free everything,
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: and we just talked about it. You go to the
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: game and you still don't really know what's going on,
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: so you might as well enjoy it and comfortable.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: I've done them both, have you which one is better?
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Fifty yard line? You know, it's like fifty yard lines
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: kind of like front row. It's a little overrated. Oh really,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Oh it's awesome, but it's not as awesome as you
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: would think. I want to go sweet, but you wanted
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: to tidy r line once?
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, what about those suits that are a field level?
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: You ever been in one of those? Like the Rams?
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: Yeah, Cowboys, I've been at a Cowboy. We've been too
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: where the Cowboys are. But a pre game never like
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: sad in one? As a guest, would you rather what's worse?
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Your rival, your main rival winning a championship or you
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: having a winless season.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Rival winless season? Oh man, that's just the whole season
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: of just torture. But then you get a draft pick.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: There is that, and I appreciate the NFL forgiving us
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: that because it's always like, uh, okay, we do have that,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: But man, it's a bad season when there's nothing going on.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: I would probably I would rather have my rival win
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: the championship.
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: But then all off season you have to hear about
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: this team winning the championship.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: You're right, well, they both suck, dude, don't. Yeah, that's
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: all off season you have to hear about how you
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: didn't want a freaking game.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: We're getting number one in the hot seat now, and
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: so it.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Was a new GM and then the number one pick,
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: like you never know exactly what we're gonna get exactly.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: You know, I'm drafting Ryan Leaf. All right, here's our
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: talk with Western Kentucky quarterback Austin Reid. We're on the
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: field with him prior to us running some drills. You
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: can watch us on the drills. Just go over and
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: check out too much access. Austin won a D two
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: championship with Western Florida prior to his transfer to Western
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: Kentucky and led the nation of passing last year. He
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: has almost two thousand yards passing a sixteen touchdown so
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: far this season. You can follow Austin on Twitter at
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: a read three sixty five. Here he is Austin Reid.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Quarterbacks and specialists use the same bowl, so like usually
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: they use like a fatter one because it's I guess,
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: easier to kick, and they usually don't care really if
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: it's broken in or anything like that, so.
- 1:06:42Speaker 10: They like rub it raw. Yeah, like I know, some
- 1:06:44Speaker 10: kickers like it brand new. I think Tommy, our punter,
- 1:06:47Speaker 10: likes it kind of broken in a little bit. But
- 1:06:49Speaker 10: those things, they're freaking basketballs, the walls that they like
- 1:06:52Speaker 10: to kick, whereas ours are like a lot more like
- 1:06:54Speaker 10: pointy and got like that.
- 1:06:55Speaker 7: Now, like a lot of air in the ball, or
- 1:06:57Speaker 7: you like your flat like Tom Brady.
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: Always is easier to throw pretty flat, but it is.
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: The refs are old. The refs are a lot harder
- 1:07:05Speaker 6: on you. You know.
- 1:07:05Speaker 10: They come in there and check the PSI and make
- 1:07:07Speaker 10: sure it's good, right really yeah, and if it's not,
- 1:07:09Speaker 10: they'll pump it up like they don't.
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: They don't play around about it.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: I like my ball nerve oh really yeah? Like like
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: or like me on, I want to play with my
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: orange board the tail. Can you ever see one of
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: those nerve balls?
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: Just like this?
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: How far? How far can you throw the ball comfortably? Comfortably?
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: Don't throw it now.
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: As far as I have to? Can you? I guess?
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: Can you hit a fifty five yarder.
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: Yeah, I could. I could throw it probably at least
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: sixty five.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: Really, yeah, at what age did you start to be
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: able to out throw other kids where it's like me,
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: he's got an arm.
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: Really not until like late high school. I was really
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: like a late bloomer.
- 1:07:51Speaker 10: So like going into high school, I was like five
- 1:07:53Speaker 10: 't four short kids, short, fat kid, And I kind
- 1:07:57Speaker 10: of luckily hit puberty and for my sophomore year high
- 1:08:00Speaker 10: school to junior or high school, like grew seven inches,
- 1:08:03Speaker 10: got a little taller, finally kind of got stronger and
- 1:08:06Speaker 10: started being able to throw the ball pretty well.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: If you grew seven inches in that amount of time,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: I feel like we could actually seem to grow, Like
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: that's the like we can literally that's a lot of
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: growth in the year to that.
- 1:08:15Speaker 10: It always you go back to church and all the
- 1:08:17Speaker 10: old people are, oh my gosh, there's so much taller now,
- 1:08:20Speaker 10: and they're like, it's been two months.
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: It's not I don't look that much different.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: But yeah, being a quarterback at the school who's known
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: for the quarterback, do you feel a bit of pressure
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: to maintain what Wku is known for?
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: Sure?
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: I mean I feel like it's kind of like the
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: standards you have to hold yourself to.
- 1:08:36Speaker 10: You know, it started with really like Willie Taggart senior,
- 1:08:39Speaker 10: and it's carried over and you've had guys like Brandon
- 1:08:41Speaker 10: Dowdy who was obviously pretty successful, Mike White who's hung
- 1:08:44Speaker 10: in the league for a while, Bailey Zappy obviously, and.
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: So I feel like it's kind of the standards you
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: have to hold yourself to here.
- 1:08:50Speaker 10: If if you're willing to play quarterback here at the school,
- 1:08:53Speaker 10: you kind of have to like be like, hey, I
- 1:08:54Speaker 10: need to perform.
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: That's what they expect here.
- 1:08:56Speaker 10: So it's definitely a little bit of pressure, but it's
- 1:08:58Speaker 10: a good thing because it's it's kind of what quarterbacks
- 1:09:01Speaker 10: you are known for.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: You describe yourself as a late bloomer, but even in
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: college because you went to a Division two school and
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: then you came here, Like, what's what was the biggest
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: difference in game speed? And also do you still feel
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: like you're I hate I'm still lamps at blooming now?
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: Are you blooming now?
- 1:09:16Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:09:16Speaker 10: I feel like I'm always getting better and always kind
- 1:09:18Speaker 10: of getting a better understanding of what it takes to
- 1:09:20Speaker 10: be a successful quarterback.
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: You know, I've always kind of been.
- 1:09:22Speaker 10: A gunslinger and throwing the ball around a lot, and
- 1:09:25Speaker 10: I take chances and I throw crazy throws, but learning
- 1:09:28Speaker 10: to take those chances at the right time, learning when
- 1:09:31Speaker 10: to like take the easy check down, when to throw
- 1:09:33Speaker 10: a deep you know, I still want to be that
- 1:09:35Speaker 10: air raid gunsling quarterback, but like at the right time.
- 1:09:38Speaker 10: And you know, this level has been a little different,
- 1:09:41Speaker 10: you know, Shuder Sanders said it the other day, and
- 1:09:42Speaker 10: I kind of agree with them. I feel like the
- 1:09:44Speaker 10: biggest difference really is at the offensive and defensive line.
- 1:09:47Speaker 10: You know, I played a lot of really good skill
- 1:09:49Speaker 10: players when I was at the Division two level who
- 1:09:50Speaker 10: are in the NFL, and I feel like the skill
- 1:09:53Speaker 10: player level, it's obviously not as good, but it's relatively close.
- 1:09:56Speaker 10: And the biggest difference you really see is in the
- 1:09:58Speaker 10: front sevens just creature. You play against our every week
- 1:10:01Speaker 10: are a lot bigger and stronger.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: What's the perfect amount of throws for you in a game?
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Do you want to hit forty fifty? Would you like
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: hit eighty?
- 1:10:08Speaker 6: I'll throw it as much as Coach hell And allows
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: me to. I love throwing the ball.
- 1:10:12Speaker 10: I've had multiple like fifty yard fifty at ten games,
- 1:10:14Speaker 10: and I love those, but I also feel like there's
- 1:10:16Speaker 10: a time in the place.
- 1:10:17Speaker 6: We have to run the ball.
- 1:10:18Speaker 10: And last year against u AB, I only had twenty
- 1:10:20Speaker 10: three pass attempts. I don't think I was like a
- 1:10:22Speaker 10: career low, but we plan for forty. Some people are like, hey,
- 1:10:25Speaker 10: that's a normal game, but it was so I feel
- 1:10:28Speaker 10: like there's a time in the place. But obviously, if
- 1:10:30Speaker 10: he gives me the green light, I'll throw it every play.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Do you have to wrap your own like a pitcher
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: at the if you throw it forty fifty times?
- 1:10:36Speaker 10: Yeah, like I usually, I usually got a ice after
- 1:10:38Speaker 10: every practice. I guess somebody throws in during a practice
- 1:10:40Speaker 10: and you know you got a ice. You gotta do
- 1:10:42Speaker 10: the BFR and on Monday Thursday to kind of keep
- 1:10:45Speaker 10: it loose is kind of thing before.
- 1:10:47Speaker 6: It's like this like pressure thing that you put on this.
- 1:10:49Speaker 7: Stand for big yeah big hefen.
- 1:10:53Speaker 6: I don't think so. I think it Rea.
- 1:10:54Speaker 10: It makes sense though, with how almost said damn thingks squeeze.
- 1:10:57Speaker 10: I thought I'm my fault on freaking cussing. But no,
- 1:11:01Speaker 10: So it's like we took that from a couple of
- 1:11:03Speaker 10: pictures in the MLB, and as you see, like with
- 1:11:06Speaker 10: throwing progression. Things are starting to move a lot more
- 1:11:08Speaker 10: towards the rotational aspect that pitchers have, and whether it's
- 1:11:11Speaker 10: plios that quarterbacks are getting into nowadays and rotational power.
- 1:11:15Speaker 10: There's a lot of things that football people are starting
- 1:11:17Speaker 10: to steal from pitching in baseball, and so it's it's
- 1:11:19Speaker 10: all related somehow.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: Do you self scout in that you watch and make
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: sure you're not giving a tails at playing quarterback with
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: your eyes or anything with your feet that you do
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: if a play is going a certain direction.
- 1:11:30Speaker 10: Sure, I mean it's always like always trying to be
- 1:11:32Speaker 10: deceptive and try not to give anything away. Like you know,
- 1:11:36Speaker 10: it's like whether it's your wipe and your towel when
- 1:11:38Speaker 10: you know you're gonna throw, or whether it's how far
- 1:11:40Speaker 10: back is my right.
- 1:11:41Speaker 6: Foot every time I throw compared to running.
- 1:11:43Speaker 10: I mean, you obviously try to not give anything away
- 1:11:45Speaker 10: and try to like keep it all the same the
- 1:11:48Speaker 10: end of the day.
- 1:11:49Speaker 6: They got to stop it though, so they can know,
- 1:11:51Speaker 6: but they got to be able to stop it.
- 1:11:52Speaker 10: And a lot of teams know we're gonna come out
- 1:11:53Speaker 10: here and throw a fifty times and they still can't
- 1:11:55Speaker 10: stop it.
- 1:11:55Speaker 6: So it's like there's tails, and there's like tells that
- 1:11:58Speaker 6: you're trying not to give away, but they all got stopped.
- 1:12:00Speaker 7: I think about the wiping the hand down.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: That's a good I'm gonna tell my son, though, you know,
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: do you do it every because I like to be
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: a poker player, so in order for the plays where
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: I didn't want to have reactions scene, I a woulds
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: have reaction every time, or I would try. So do
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: you try to wipe your hand every time? Do you
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: try to not wipe your hand at.
- 1:12:16Speaker 7: All or fick his fingers?
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: Then where are you just like like I'm just gonna
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: always think to do it or not do it, but
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: do it?
- 1:12:22Speaker 7: No, no pattern.
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: Yeah, it's just a game you play.
- 1:12:24Speaker 10: It's always a game that you're playing against the defensive
- 1:12:26Speaker 10: coordinator the whole time. There's times where I act like
- 1:12:29Speaker 10: I'm checking the play and I'm telling everybody the exact
- 1:12:31Speaker 10: same play we had at first, and so now the
- 1:12:33Speaker 10: coordinators changing his defense up, and I'm like, we haven't
- 1:12:36Speaker 10: even changed the play at all.
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: I'm just acting like I am.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: So what's the acting like he's changing it back?
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: Like is you never know?
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: There is?
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't think about that when with the double up.
- 1:12:44Speaker 10: Our defensive coordinator has done that a couple of times
- 1:12:46Speaker 10: for sure against us in practice. But it's always things
- 1:12:49Speaker 10: like that, or sometimes you'll like like be talking really
- 1:12:52Speaker 10: loud to a receiver like hey, he'd be ready for ready,
- 1:12:54Speaker 10: and then he snapped me a hand the ball off
- 1:12:56Speaker 10: me and then they're like, So it's a little things
- 1:12:58Speaker 10: like that you try to do, but it's always just
- 1:12:59Speaker 10: a game.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: I was watching some of Hard Knocks this year with
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers before you get hurt, and you know, linebackers
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: gonna be faking like they're a blitz, faking like and
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: Rogers just goes, you're not blitzing. It was the player
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: on the opposite team. You know they were doing those
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: joint practice. He goes, you're not blitzing, so just stop.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: Do you know the defense that well? At times when
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: you get in the game to know what everybody's doing.
- 1:13:18Speaker 10: Yeah, you can tell a lot of times when defensive
- 1:13:19Speaker 10: players are gunna blitz. A lot of times they like
- 1:13:22Speaker 10: try to play it off like they're looking at the
- 1:13:23Speaker 10: receiver and they're like trying to.
- 1:13:25Speaker 6: Almost play like too much. They're really dead, so to speak.
- 1:13:28Speaker 10: And like they're acting like they're not coming, then they're
- 1:13:30Speaker 10: gonna come.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: So start walking the off the direction. Yeah, I guess
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: there's nothing to see here.
- 1:13:34Speaker 10: Some guys are like almost like overdo it, that they're
- 1:13:36Speaker 10: gonna act like they're blitzing, and then you're like, all right,
- 1:13:38Speaker 10: I know you're coming out of it, like you're gonna
- 1:13:40Speaker 10: you're gonna fly out and play into coverage. So it's
- 1:13:43Speaker 10: kind of just watching film and figuring out guys tendencies
- 1:13:46Speaker 10: and stuff like that.
- 1:13:46Speaker 6: But some guys on defense Tibbot.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Do you ever dream of film? Like you watch so
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: much film that when you go to sleep you still
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: see it.
- 1:13:53Speaker 6: I dream about football way too much.
- 1:13:56Speaker 10: I wish I didn't dream about football, whether you're dreaming
- 1:13:58Speaker 10: about something really good happened, or you have one of
- 1:14:00Speaker 10: those dreams where like every single throw you throw only
- 1:14:03Speaker 10: goes like two yards and you're like, what the heck's
- 1:14:05Speaker 10: happening to me?
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: And so in my life, that's solid a dream. Wait,
- 1:14:08Speaker 6: not too much about it.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: So I got this.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: I love that I've seen that I have, but you
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: know you're running, you're up for it.
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: So yeah, I saw something.
- 1:14:19Speaker 10: I saw something before the year that said it was
- 1:14:21Speaker 10: like thirty thousand to one odds. I was like, so
- 1:14:23Speaker 10: you're telling me there's a chance.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: I don't know, But did they have a conversation with
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: you the program, Hey, we're really going to push you
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: for this, And.
- 1:14:30Speaker 10: Yeah, they kind of like they were out there like, hey,
- 1:14:33Speaker 10: we're gonna push you for a lot of stuff. We're
- 1:14:34Speaker 10: going to try and create a lot of publicity for
- 1:14:36Speaker 10: the program. I mean, I realistically know what the Heisman's about.
- 1:14:38Speaker 10: I know it's pretty much a Power five quarterback award.
- 1:14:42Speaker 10: But it's cool to create publicity for the for the program.
- 1:14:44Speaker 10: It's cool to bring eyes to the program. At the
- 1:14:46Speaker 10: end of the day, we're always just trying to like
- 1:14:48Speaker 10: show our brand of football to the country and we
- 1:14:51Speaker 10: just want to be in that national conversation. So for us,
- 1:14:54Speaker 10: it's kind of pushing all that so we can be
- 1:14:56Speaker 10: in that national conversation. We can have that brand of
- 1:14:58Speaker 10: Western Kentucky football out.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: There, preseason Player of the Year, that's you. I mean
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: Heisman that no freshmen want it till a freshman want it, sure,
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: you know, so they're always and let's just say I
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: put five bucks on thirty thousand and one, I will
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: be a real happy guy because there is a chance. Yeah,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: you feel healthy, you good.
- 1:15:12Speaker 6: Yeah, body's body has been great thankfully this year.
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: No doubt.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: You get in the ice right after.
- 1:15:16Speaker 6: We did a lot of the cold tubs in this
- 1:15:19Speaker 6: in fall camp and stuff like that.
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: For this interview.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: He's gonna need it after this interview. Yeah, really really
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: really need after this right now. Yeah, So you don't
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: do ice after like you don't get a thing of
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: ice after a game.
- 1:15:30Speaker 6: Games, I'm I get a little lazy.
- 1:15:32Speaker 10: I'll usually just throw ice bag on the shoulder and
- 1:15:34Speaker 10: and roll from there, and then Sunday I usually do
- 1:15:36Speaker 10: a once of recovery rethink that.
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I say, just awesome to beat the quarterback. It's good,
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: It's awesome, right, it's a good time. I'm not gonna lie,
- 1:15:44Speaker 4: what's it like on campus? Gonna be like that every now?
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: You get it every now and then.
- 1:15:49Speaker 10: It's probably not as much as if you're at like
- 1:15:50Speaker 10: an Alabama or something like that, but I mean you
- 1:15:53Speaker 10: still get that, and I'm not gonna act like it's
- 1:15:55Speaker 10: not cool to have.
- 1:15:58Speaker 6: It's awesome. It's obviously fun, you know, to keep the
- 1:15:59Speaker 6: main think the main thing. But I mean, you know,
- 1:16:01Speaker 6: I hate it.
- 1:16:02Speaker 7: Yeah, Allege experiences were not the same.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Yeah, And if I was a quarterback in my college,
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: to you, even if I didn't have a ball with
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: people to know, I just always be doing that. They'd
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: be like, why's that guy doing that?
- 1:16:11Speaker 7: It's a quarterback.
- 1:16:11Speaker 6: It's got to him. Yeah, it's got to be to him.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: It's gotta be ham. Well, congratulations on on all of it.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: You have a big, big season this year. But I mean,
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: are you already looking maybe you know, get self and
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: shamed for the next step. Yeah, that's the plan.
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: Obviously.
- 1:16:25Speaker 10: I'm gonna keep playing ball as long as they allow
- 1:16:27Speaker 10: me to. So keep getting ready, keep putting film on
- 1:16:30Speaker 10: Todd there. That's hopefully good enough that the league likes
- 1:16:33Speaker 10: what they see in.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Canadian Football League. Let's get on our boys. Let's
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: good at the little Argonauts. Baby, let's go. Hey, thank
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: you very much.
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: Appreciate y'all appreciate it.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: All right, that's it, Mike, I'm forgetting anything. You're good guys,
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: good show, good one. Hey, I'm chilling this weekend. We're
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: gonna buye cowboys are a buy how boys are?
- 1:16:59Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: So I may not even really watch football.
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: I wish we were on a bye it's kind of.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: One of those things. Yeah, yeah, I bet you do.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: I hope we're on a bye. What did you just throw?
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: You want the funny answer I was gonna say, or
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: you want to it was actually give me the funny one.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: We're not gonna say it. I wish we were mad.
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: We're playing Missippi State. We should beat them. We're six
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: point favorite. But I'm gonna go.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: I am gonna go nice. Yeah. But if well, I
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: think I'm having a stroke thinking about it.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: If we don't win, I know it's that I'm going
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: to this game going please don't lose instead of win,
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: because it's it's already.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: Been miserable and maybe that's what the team needs. You
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: there and think about that, Think about that, that's true.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: Give me a headset. Hey, would you watch it from
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: the field? I have. Oh, I was down there with
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: you one time. It's pretty Owes.
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: You don't see much. It's the experience is cool to
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: be down there. You don't see much. So the last
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: time I was on the field, we were playing somebody bad.
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: You know we were bad. They were playing somebody good.
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: And they can showing me on the camera as being
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: irritated fan. I'm on the Arkhill sideline like good dad.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: They kept cutting to me, same way the.
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: Arkansas basketball game last year week get beat. The kept
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: going to me as I was sad fan at the
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: end of the game.
- 1:18:11Speaker 7: I remember that one.
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: You're like the Chargers fan the other night that lay
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: She's real by the way, Yeah, that's it.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: She wasn't.
- 1:18:17Speaker 7: No, she was real.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: But how did they find her amongst all them cowboy
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: fans there there must have been eighty.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: It basically fell like cowboys cowboys fans. Yeah, all right,
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: that's it. You guys please follow us at twenty five whistles.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: Uh go put a comment under the Western Kentucky football
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: video and Eddie and I'll sign more balls and send
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: them out. Yeah, we're sending these out from the Kansas
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: State comments.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: Right, and that's it. Thank you guys, will see you
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: next time. By you whistled, I'll whistle you.
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: Oh yeah yeah,
