- 0:15Speaker 1: that's peyton we're from the john jay and rich show
- 0:18Speaker 1: which you can catch every weekday morning on uh on
- 0:21Speaker 1: 1047 kiss fm uh peyton will you indulge me while
- 0:24Speaker 1: i talk about myself for.
- 0:25Speaker 2: A second Okay, I'm all ears.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 0:27Speaker 2: For at least one year.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Well, first things first, I do, like just from a
- 0:31Speaker 1: personal standpoint, my son's birthday is today.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Happy birthday, Theo.
- 0:36Speaker 1: He's five years old. He's precocious and spunky and a
- 0:42Speaker 1: very funny child. And it's wild to me that it's
- 0:45Speaker 1: been five years since he made his appearance into the
- 0:50Speaker 1: world because I don't feel like that's like a possibility. Like,
- 0:54Speaker 1: we were... just exiting COVID when this boy, you know,
- 1:00Speaker 1: made his appearance. I'm like, that feels like not that
- 1:04Speaker 1: long ago.
- 1:04Speaker 2: No, totally. I remember when Thea was born. We were
- 1:07Speaker 2: working together. That's crazy that it's been that long. But
- 1:11Speaker 2: you know how you said to just for me to
- 1:12Speaker 2: listen while you, you know, talk about yourself.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:14Speaker 2: And you didn't really talk about yourself. You actually just
- 1:16Speaker 2: talked about your kid. See. Okay. So earlier this week,
- 1:19Speaker 2: I had a parent meeting and I'm sitting there and
- 1:22Speaker 2: I'm listening to these parents talk. And I think I
- 1:24Speaker 2: had the realization of like, people just want to talk
- 1:27Speaker 2: about their kids.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I am like, I'm 28. I have a couple of
- 1:33Speaker 2: friends that have kids. And truthfully, when we hang out,
- 1:36Speaker 2: we don't talk about their kids because we're friends or whatever.
- 1:38Speaker 2: But I have realized that 90% of the conversations that
- 1:42Speaker 2: I have with adults that, like, I don't know, talk
- 1:44Speaker 2: about the kids.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:46Speaker 2: As if they're the greatest thing since sliced bread, by
- 1:48Speaker 2: the way.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And I think at least, you know, my oldest is
- 1:52Speaker 1: only six.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 1: But it's like, your life revolves around them and so
- 1:59Speaker 1: it's like it is hard to have a conversation that
- 2:03Speaker 1: doesn't at some point go back to the children because
- 2:08Speaker 1: they're busy and they're always like it's always new and
- 2:13Speaker 1: like you asked me about my life it's like well
- 2:15Speaker 1: mondays i have ninja tuesdays i have gymnastics wednesdays i
- 2:18Speaker 1: have a musical thursdays i coach soccer you know it's
- 2:20Speaker 1: like It's like, so that is the conversation. Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 2: No, and I get it. And I'm just not there yet.
- 2:26Speaker 2: So sometimes I feel like it's a little bit of
- 2:28Speaker 2: a two-time. But I totally get it. But with that
- 2:32Speaker 2: being said, you said your son is five today. You
- 2:35Speaker 2: have a daughter. She's six.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:37Speaker 2: So how is their age gap? Because I know you
- 2:39Speaker 2: have siblings, too. Do you feel like it's a good amount?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Because me and my brother, we're 15 months apart.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I think it would be harder. if they were one
- 2:53Speaker 1: grade apart in school. They're two full grades apart.
- 2:56Speaker 2: That's how me and Jalen are.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think that helps a tremendous amount. They
- 3:02Speaker 1: can each have their own friends. They get along, but
- 3:06Speaker 1: they each have their own friends. It was tougher when
- 3:09Speaker 1: they were younger. It was like having two kids in
- 3:12Speaker 1: diapers was a nightmare. But now that they're older and
- 3:17Speaker 1: they can play together or Or leave each other alone. Like,
- 3:23Speaker 1: it's awesome.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 1: They're great.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I talk to my husband, Kadeem, like, when it comes
- 3:27Speaker 2: to kids and stuff like that. That's great. I would
- 3:30Speaker 2: like to go back to back to back. Like, I
- 3:32Speaker 2: would like to get it done. Like, and if I have, like,
- 3:34Speaker 2: a girl and a boy like how you have, I
- 3:36Speaker 2: would probably be like, okay, I think I'm done for good. Yeah.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Maybe have an extra if I, like, hit the lottery
- 3:41Speaker 2: or something. Like, I feel like I would want a
- 3:43Speaker 2: lot of kids if I had the money to have
- 3:44Speaker 2: a lot of kids.
- 3:45Speaker 1: We, yeah, we said to Max.
- 3:49Speaker 1: One minimum. Yeah. Like that's, that's when we got married,
- 3:52Speaker 1: that was like, that was the, the parameters we had set. Yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Now they, the second one came sooner than we expected.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:03Speaker 1: But, but yeah, I mean, I, I love kids and I,
- 4:07Speaker 1: and I love, I love babies. I think if our
- 4:09Speaker 1: schedules were different. Yeah. And I think that again, if
- 4:12Speaker 1: we won the lottery, like. You would consider. Then we
- 4:15Speaker 1: would consider it. Yeah. But it's just, it's a lot.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah. All at once. I'm excited to hear, like, throughout
- 4:21Speaker 2: their life, because they're probably all besties now and obsessed
- 4:24Speaker 2: with each other, but they're going to get that time
- 4:26Speaker 2: where they can't stand each other.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 2: And then they'll get back together, you know, in the
- 4:30Speaker 2: adult years, like me and my brother. Me and my brother, though,
- 4:32Speaker 2: we started fighting when he started stealing my clothes. Yeah.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Okay.
- 4:36Speaker 2: So that's where we have the problem.
- 4:39Speaker 1: They're in the point now where, like, my daughter loves
- 4:42Speaker 1: dressing up my son. Oh, my gosh.
- 4:46Speaker 2: No, literally, I remember one time when I was in
- 4:48Speaker 2: high school and I convinced my little brother to let
- 4:50Speaker 2: me beat his face. Like, not actually beat his face. Like, makeup.
- 4:53Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 4:54Speaker 2: Like, how you go full glam. Oh, my dad was
- 4:58Speaker 2: so mad. He was so mad at me.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Yeah, when my son came out in... her Princess Peach
- 5:07Speaker 1: dress and, like, started twirling, I was like, buddy, you
- 5:11Speaker 1: do you. But also, like, you do have your own clothes.
- 5:14Speaker 2: You're like, don't... Kids are funny, though, because that's probably
- 5:19Speaker 2: how your daughter is. I have pictures of me and
- 5:21Speaker 2: my little brother, like, in the back of the car,
- 5:23Speaker 2: and he's, like, holding my hand, and I'm just looking
- 5:26Speaker 2: at him like this. And so I like to remind
- 5:28Speaker 2: him when he's a jerk to me that he was
- 5:30Speaker 2: my number one fan for, like, the first ten years
- 5:32Speaker 2: of his life.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and then... And then tragedy struck.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Now he likes me because I get him concert tickets.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fair. That's fair enough. I'm surprised you haven't
- 5:41Speaker 1: brought this up to me yet. And I'm going to
- 5:45Speaker 1: bring this up knowing that this is Arizona spin.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And it is also not Christmas season. Okay. So I'm
- 5:54Speaker 1: from a town in Illinois of less than 6,000 people. Okay.
- 5:59Speaker 1: This past week, they were awarded... Hallmark Channel's merriest Christmas
- 6:08Speaker 1: town in America.
- 6:09Speaker 2: That's cute.
- 6:11Speaker 1: And yeah, it was like, it was like 60 some
- 6:15Speaker 1: towns were nominated and they got like, it was lower, lower, lower.
- 6:18Speaker 2: So does that mean they're going to get a Hallmark movie?
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah. They're producing a Hallmark movie being filmed in Carlinville, Illinois,
- 6:24Speaker 1: my hometown. Oh my goodness. Next year. Tamara Mowry was
- 6:30Speaker 1: there to make the announcement.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And that's the biggest celebrity that's ever stepped foot in
- 6:35Speaker 1: my hometown.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Like Tamera Mowry from Sister, Sister?
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Sister, Sister.
- 6:40Speaker 1: That's so funny. And Aaron Samuels from Mean Girls. They
- 6:46Speaker 1: were the two.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Aaron Samuels? It's October 3rd, Aaron Samuels?
- 6:51Speaker 1: Yeah. They were there present for this announcement. And I'm
- 6:54Speaker 1: so excited for my hometown. But. because this is the
- 7:01Speaker 1: biggest thing that's ever happened in the town. I am
- 7:05Speaker 1: now to the point where I'm like, okay, I've had
- 7:07Speaker 1: enough content. Yeah. I've had enough. Like, like, like I'm
- 7:11Speaker 1: happy for my hometown. I hope it brings business to
- 7:14Speaker 1: my hometown, but I don't need to see like the, the,
- 7:20Speaker 1: the 40th person posts the same Hallmark commercial that they
- 7:23Speaker 1: saw that they're filming it on their TV. You're still right.
- 7:27Speaker 1: And they, they're filming it on their TV. Like, I'm
- 7:30Speaker 1: good now.
- 7:31Speaker 2: That's impressive that you, like, still communicate or have 40
- 7:35Speaker 2: people from your hometown on your social media, considering your
- 7:38Speaker 2: whole life is here now.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, well, it's, yeah, I mean, Facebook is a
- 7:43Speaker 1: fun place.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Let it go. Grow up.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Oh, so this is on me? No, Nick, this is
- 7:50Speaker 1: your fault.
- 7:52Speaker 2: This is your problem, that you are still attached to
- 7:54Speaker 2: your hometown like a child.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Well, I think that this is probably my last week
- 7:58Speaker 1: on the John Jane Rich Show, because I got to
- 8:00Speaker 1: get that Hallmark money.
- 8:01Speaker 2: You have to go get that Hallmark money. I hope
- 8:03Speaker 2: that your childhood home and all of the traumatizing memories
- 8:06Speaker 2: make a cameo.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll talk about my dad in the next segment.
- 8:11Speaker 1: This is Arizona Spin of Fox 10+. More coming up.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Don't leave.
- 8:21Speaker 2: That's where my dad burnt me with a cigarette.
- 8:25Speaker 1: We just want to hear from you, and I don't
- 8:27Speaker 1: think that's too much to ask, and it's really stressing
- 8:29Speaker 1: me out that you're not calling.
- 8:32Speaker 2: 877-937-1047.
- 8:33Speaker 1: It's John Jay and Rich. Welcome back to Arizona Spin
- 8:38Speaker 1: on Fox 10 Plus. My name's Nick. That's Peyton for
- 8:44Speaker 1: the John Jay and Rich show on 1047 KISS FM.
- 8:47Speaker 1: You can catch the show every weekday morning from 5
- 8:50Speaker 1: until 10 a.m. So something going on around the station
- 8:54Speaker 1: right now. And I'm dropping some top secret information. And
- 8:59Speaker 1: I assume that I can trust you and producer Ken
- 9:03Speaker 1: both to keep this to yourselves.
- 9:05Speaker 2: And all of Arizona.
- 9:06Speaker 1: So our receptionist slash do-it-all person, Lauren.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Love her.
- 9:13Speaker 1: She's so sweet. she put up a whiteboard in our kitchen.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Did she? Yeah, and is putting different fun riddles or questions, whatever,
- 9:25Speaker 1: to kind of make morale a little lighter around here.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yeah, is it rough around here these days?
- 9:30Speaker 1: No, I don't know. I don't really know why it's
- 9:33Speaker 1: up there. Okay. But she's posting all this stuff, and
- 9:38Speaker 1: I have taken upon myself now to add things to
- 9:43Speaker 1: the whiteboard. That after she posts them. And I don't
- 9:48Speaker 1: know how it started, but I'm on day four of
- 9:52Speaker 1: adding an option that involves horse meat. Oh. So what
- 9:59Speaker 1: she posted... in the kitchen today was, would you rather,
- 10:03Speaker 1: and then one was hang out with Gus, who's one
- 10:05Speaker 1: of our sales managers. Yeah. And the other option was
- 10:08Speaker 1: literally anything else. And so then right under that, I
- 10:12Speaker 1: put eat horse meat.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Oh.
- 10:15Speaker 1: And then I added a bunch of tallies. So- It
- 10:19Speaker 1: makes me laugh. I don't know that anyone's noticed. Okay. Today,
- 10:23Speaker 1: Lauren was like, yeah, I could tell she was a
- 10:25Speaker 1: little stressed out. You know, I'm like, what's going on?
- 10:28Speaker 1: What's going on, kid?
- 10:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:30Speaker 1: And she goes, I keep, I'm like, here it is.
- 10:34Speaker 1: She's going to reveal that someone keeps writing on my
- 10:37Speaker 1: whiteboard and I don't know who it is. And I'm like, giddy.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And she goes, I just can't keep the creamers filled
- 10:46Speaker 1: long enough. I was like, Honestly?
- 10:49Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Let me chime in here.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I'm glad that Lauren has made that realization because you
- 10:55Speaker 2: know how many times I, Peyton Ireland, have had to
- 10:59Speaker 2: refill the coffee creamers? Too many times for me to count.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Now, I didn't want to throw you under the bus
- 11:06Speaker 1: because I know how many creamers you use in your coffee.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I use four.
- 11:11Speaker 1: And she was like, I filled this to the brim yesterday,
- 11:14Speaker 1: and by the time I left for work or I
- 11:16Speaker 1: left work, It was empty again. And this whole time
- 11:21Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, I'm not going to talk about Peyton's
- 11:24Speaker 1: 15 creamers.
- 11:25Speaker 2: It's only four and I fill them up.
- 11:28Speaker 1: And I'm going to try my best and not be
- 11:30Speaker 1: disappointed that she hasn't realized my little shenanigans.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Because I think that's, those are the fun pranks. The
- 11:39Speaker 1: ones that are like a slow burn.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 1: It's just little enough to like make sure people don't
- 11:46Speaker 1: make a big deal out of it. But it's enough
- 11:49Speaker 1: to annoy people. Okay. And so I trust that this
- 11:55Speaker 1: is the circle of truth in this room, that you
- 11:58Speaker 1: won't reveal what's happening.
- 12:00Speaker 2: That you are the mysterious Lauren annoyance.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I would like to go and answer her question on
- 12:05Speaker 2: the board, though.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Okay.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Between Gus and anything else.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Or eating horse meat.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Okay.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Why don't you do it right now?
- 12:15Speaker 2: I would choose to hang out with Gus. Have you
- 12:17Speaker 2: ever hung out with Gus? Gus Pates. Gus picks up
- 12:22Speaker 2: the tab at the end of the night. Okay?
- 12:24Speaker 1: I mean, there it is. This took a fun turn.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Just saying. He was really nice.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I think the big TV news of the week.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Carrie.
- 12:37Speaker 1: You think Carrie?
- 12:38Speaker 2: Oh, Carrie is such a good show.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Really? So good. I don't do scary things.
- 12:43Speaker 2: It's not scary.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I don't do scary things.
- 12:45Speaker 2: It's not scary because it's supernatural, not paranormal.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I think that also would make me scared.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Were you scared of Stranger Things? No. Okay, so you
- 12:53Speaker 2: won't be scared of Carrie.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Well, I was. There was one night, it was like
- 12:57Speaker 1: I was watching Stranger Things real late at night, and
- 12:59Speaker 1: I took the dog for a walk afterwards, and I
- 13:02Speaker 1: was scared on the walk.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Well, I get that, but like with Carrie, like you
- 13:06Speaker 2: don't get that. Like at the end, like when she gets,
- 13:09Speaker 2: like it's not bloody or gory or anything like that,
- 13:11Speaker 2: like she's getting bullied.
- 13:12Speaker 1: The whole time. And you're watching the Jason show too, right?
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I started Crystal Lake.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Crystal Lake.
- 13:17Speaker 2: With Linda Cardellini.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah. That one is a lot is gory. That one's gory.
- 13:23Speaker 2: And I was talking about on the show and I
- 13:25Speaker 2: was like, I don't feel like it's giving enough slasher
- 13:27Speaker 2: for me. And then I literally went home and put
- 13:29Speaker 2: on a scene and I was like, Ooh, that was brutal.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I love her, but I will, I just, again, I
- 13:34Speaker 1: can't do it. I'm wearing a, I mean, we're in
- 13:36Speaker 1: a goofy movie shirt right now. Why can't you do it?
- 13:38Speaker 1: I just, I get scared. I get way too scared. Yeah.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I get like, like, I am comfortable enough in my
- 13:46Speaker 1: own skin at this point in my life. I'm 40
- 13:48Speaker 1: years old and I am scared of the dark. Like, like, I,
- 13:54Speaker 1: I'm not gonna, I'm not afraid to say that anymore. Like,
- 13:59Speaker 1: I like, like if my, if my wife is gone
- 14:02Speaker 1: for like a couple of days, like I, I will
- 14:05Speaker 1: sleep with a nightlight on. Like I can't, I can't
- 14:07Speaker 1: do it.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I under, I understand that. I like a good Halloween
- 14:10Speaker 2: movie like during Halloween time.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Um, And I won't watch any paranormal movies at my
- 14:17Speaker 2: house or in my home. I will not do that.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Oh, I get it.
- 14:19Speaker 2: I'll go to the movie theater and watch it because
- 14:21Speaker 2: I feel like it'll stay.
- 14:22Speaker 1: It'll stay right there.
- 14:23Speaker 2: It's not going to follow you. But not in my home.
- 14:25Speaker 2: But okay, what other TV news? Ab Elementary?
- 14:27Speaker 1: Yeah, what I was going to bring up.
- 14:29Speaker 2: What? Ab Elementary? No.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I was going to bring up Glee is coming back.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. I already know about that.
- 14:36Speaker 1: And as a longtime Gleek, I still have, I actually
- 14:40Speaker 1: still have the pilot episode of On my phone.
- 14:44Speaker 2: From iTunes that you downloaded?
- 14:45Speaker 1: That I downloaded. That I downloaded when it first came out.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I loved Glee way too much.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I am also a Gleek.
- 14:54Speaker 1: And I'm curious. They made the announcement that it's coming back.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I haven't made any casting announcements. But I assume, like, who? Like,
- 15:02Speaker 1: Jane Lynch is probably the, like.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Well, she was the principal at the time.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Yeah. But she's probably the most in demand of the cast, right?
- 15:13Speaker 2: I mean, well, Jane Lynch as Sue was one of
- 15:16Speaker 2: the most iconic television characters ever. I am curious how
- 15:20Speaker 2: they're going to do it because she was so offensive.
- 15:22Speaker 2: So I'm curious to see how Glee and Ryan Murphy
- 15:25Speaker 2: is going to switch it up to appease all the
- 15:27Speaker 2: woke people because that's what you're going to have to do.
- 15:29Speaker 2: If you go back and watch Glee stuff, there was
- 15:32Speaker 2: a whole cancel Glee movement. I think Lea Michele and
- 15:35Speaker 2: Amber Riley would be so good to have as teachers
- 15:39Speaker 2: because they're still going to have that competitiveness.
- 15:42Speaker 1: But I think the Lea Michele part of it makes
- 15:46Speaker 1: me curious and kind of pause because the cast has
- 15:51Speaker 1: been pretty outspoken that she was kind of a nightmare
- 15:54Speaker 1: on the set. Right, to work with. And so it's like,
- 15:56Speaker 1: are they going to want to revisit that? Plus, it's
- 15:59Speaker 1: being developed for Disney +. Yeah. And I'm like, how
- 16:01Speaker 1: does that change things? Exactly. I don't know. We will see.
- 16:04Speaker 2: I'm really excited. I feel like Lea Michele will want
- 16:07Speaker 2: to run it back because, like, I mean— Cory Monteith, like,
- 16:11Speaker 2: he's gone. He's not with us anymore. Like, you know
