- Lucas: Hey Luna, welcome back to another episode of Learn Spanish with Fexingo. Luna: Hey Lucas, glad to be back. You know, after last episode's playground words, I've been noticing all the equipment at the park near my house. Lucas: That's the spirit. Once you learn the words, you see them everywhere. Today, we're going to learn three more playground items. Luna: Oh, I'm ready. Let's hear them. Lucas: First up: la rueda. Say it with me: la rueda. Luna: la rueda. Lucas: La rueda means 'the wheel'. Think of a merry go round or a tire swing. For example, Los niños giran en la rueda. The children spin on the wheel. Luna: Los niños giran en la rueda. That's fun. I love spinning on those. Lucas: Next, el puente. Repeat: el puente. Luna: el puente. Lucas: El puente means 'the bridge'. It's like a little bridge in the playground. For instance, Los niños cruzan el puente. The children cross the bridge. Luna: Los niños cruzan el puente. I can picture that. Okay, what's the third one? Lucas: The last one is la casita del árbol. Try it: la casita del árbol. Luna: la casita del árbol. That's a mouthful. What does it mean? Lucas: It means 'the little tree house'. Casita is 'little house', and árbol is 'tree'. So, la casita del árbol. For example, Los niños juegan en la casita del árbol. The children play in the tree house. Luna: Los niños juegan en la casita del árbol. That sounds so cozy. I wish I had one. Lucas: Let's do a quick review. I'll say the English, you say the Spanish. Wheel. Luna: La rueda. Lucas: Bridge. Luna: El puente. Lucas: Tree house. Luna: La casita del árbol. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's use them in a little story. Imagine you're at the park. You see a large wheel: una rueda grande. Then a wooden bridge: un puente de madera. And up in a tree, a tree house: una casita del árbol. Luna: Una rueda grande, un puente de madera, una casita del árbol. I can see it. This is really helping me remember. Lucas: Good. Now let's practice a few sentences. Listen and repeat after me: La rueda es colorida. Luna: La rueda es colorida. Lucas: El puente es seguro. Luna: El puente es seguro. Lucas: La casita del árbol es pequeña. Luna: La casita del árbol es pequeña. Lucas: Great job. You know, if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with this language, that's what keeps us going. If today was worth a coffee to you, there's a link: buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it really helps us keep making these episodes for you. Every bit of support means a lot. Lucas: So let's do a final round. I'll say a sentence in English, and you translate to Spanish. Ready? The children spin on the wheel. Luna: Los niños giran en la rueda. Lucas: The children cross the bridge. Luna: Los niños cruzan el puente. Lucas: The children play in the tree house. Luna: Los niños juegan en la casita del árbol. Lucas: Excellent. You did it. Keep practicing these words at your local park. Luna: And we'll see you next time for more Spanish fun. ¡Adiós! Lucas: ¡Adiós!
