Speaker 1: weekend at the Alliant Energy Center, and of course folks

Speaker 2: Well, we definitely added some more booths, so we probably

Speaker 2: have another twenty booths, so we're up we're over three

Speaker 2: hundred and seventy five booths and that's you know, that's

Speaker 2: just all the gear and stuff like that and not

Speaker 2: you know, I mean you add all the boats and

Speaker 2: you know, eighty some different boats with the twelve different

Speaker 2: manufacturers and the introt the rates are going down a

Speaker 2: little bit if you're doing if you're going to finance

Speaker 2: about it. It's the deals right now and the rebates

Speaker 2: and the financing is getting much more attractive than it

Speaker 2: was in the last couple of years.

Speaker 1: All that is going to be set so cool to hear,

Speaker 1: and it should be should be a lot of fun

Speaker 1: this weekend. And speaking of other things that are wildly popular,

Speaker 1: I know, this is a great family event and getting

Speaker 1: the young ones started on fishing and enjoying the outdoors

Speaker 1: is always always a good thing to hear. And you

Speaker 1: guys make it easy. I know, kids under twelve are free.

Speaker 1: And then when they arrive at the Fishing Expo, well

Speaker 1: you got a couple of really big highlights like fishing bingo,

Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's super popular and it's uh, you know,

Speaker 2: the kids all go around to various vendors and get

Speaker 2: their their fishing hole punched and then they end up

Speaker 2: at the last booth with Slinger Outdoors, which is one

Speaker 2: of the many nonprofits that we that we that we

Speaker 2: sponsor and help out. And yeah, and they get a

Speaker 2: nice prize package and it's not like the little mini

Speaker 2: snickers that you're disappointed when you get in Halloween. It's

Speaker 2: the full vagabates and and candy and all that other stuff.

Speaker 2: So it's it's a great it's a great thing and

Speaker 2: the kids love it and the vendors like it because

Speaker 2: it helps people, you know, it helps traffic flow, it

Speaker 2: keeps things rolling, you know, and.

Speaker 2: do they get to take the fish home and enjoy that,

Speaker 1: the background of the Wisconsin Fishing Expo and how you

Speaker 1: got involved with it.

Speaker 2: Sure, well, we were blessed. I mean it's technically it's

Speaker 2: going to be the fortieth year. Wow, we've only been

Speaker 2: involved and we've been involved for almost all of it
4:18
Speaker 2: in terms of various things we do. But you know,

Speaker 2: the original Madison Fishing Espel Crew, I mean heck Man

Speaker 2: that started up in you know, a cafeteria and it

Speaker 2: just kept building and building and building, and it's alliance

Speaker 2: to various nonprofit fishing clubs and and when we took

Speaker 2: it over, it just kept getting bigger and better. And

Speaker 2: we're thankful so much for the original crew that got

Speaker 2: the thing going and and we agreed to kind of

Speaker 2: keep their legacy rolling in terms of helping all the

Speaker 2: nonprofits that come and and you know, get more people

Speaker 2: exposed to fishing. You know, I mean, I love coaching.

Speaker 2: I've been a coach for a lot of football and baseball,

Speaker 2: and there was anyway and I'm like grown up, but

Speaker 2: you can fish all you can't play football your whole life.

Speaker 2: You can fish your whole life. And that's what we

Speaker 2: really want to get get going. And you know, it's

Speaker 2: why we we we help out a lot of the clubs.

Speaker 2: You know, the Wisconsin Interscholastic Fishing Association, for instance, every

Speaker 2: high school has there's over eighty five or I think

Speaker 2: it's actually over one hundred, but we give them all

Speaker 2: free tickets they come. It's a it's a great youth

Speaker 2: demographic that comes to the show and gets everybody energized.

Speaker 2: And and that's just what we want to do, is

Speaker 2: give back. And I think that's what makes our show

Speaker 2: a little bit special. And we're just continuing the legacy

Speaker 2: of the original people that.

Speaker 1: with demos and displays. There is literally for folks that

Speaker 1: are going I've seen it all, there's always something new

Speaker 1: and there's always a new area to explore, isn't there?

Speaker 2: Oh? For sure, I mean there's always new stuff. I Mean,

Speaker 2: one thing that we do is we're real. We're real

Speaker 2: sensitive on our speakers, like we don't we don't repeat

Speaker 2: speakers every year and do the same, you know, dog

Speaker 2: one thing. You know, we've got twenty five speakers this

Speaker 2: year and they're all new. I mean, we have a

Speaker 2: couple that come back. You know, Larry Smith is somebody

Speaker 2: you have every year because that guy disease just the riot.

Speaker 2: But you know, we curate it very carefully so that

Speaker 2: whether you're bass, panfish, muskie, wallet, trout, salmon. We bring

Speaker 2: in speakers all over the country that come to us,

Speaker 2: and the cool thing is that we make sure that

Speaker 2: they're not talking about catching fish in Texas. You know,

Speaker 2: bass in Texas. This stuff is going to be applicable.

Speaker 2: It may be a pro from Texas, but we're going

Speaker 2: to bring him in. For instance, ishmun Roll Major one

Speaker 2: of the biggest basque guys out you know, in the planet,

Speaker 2: but he comes and talks about how you're going to

Speaker 2: catch fish on the Madison Chain or Lake Wisconsin or

Speaker 2: Southeastern or Pewaukee, you know whatever. So we are very

Speaker 2: sensitive that you can get a true education no matter

Speaker 2: what species you're looking for at the show, and that

Speaker 2: that's invaluable. You know. I mean you come and catch

Speaker 2: one hour seminar and you can catch more fish the

Speaker 2: rest of your life. It's you know, it's really impressive.

Speaker 2: And and and we just really value that we bring

Speaker 2: speakers in that are you going to help people catch more?

Speaker 2: And then this year we've we've gone out of the

Speaker 2: way to get some younger is in there, you know,

Speaker 2: the social influencer people that you know, some younger demographics

Speaker 2: out there that are going to you know, teach youngers

Speaker 2: to you know, anglers that you know what they can
