Matthew 13:10-23 What Kind of Soil Are You
Jesus begins Matthew 13 with the Parable of the Sower, but the real focus of the story is not the sower or even the seed—it is the soil.
The same Word of the Kingdom falls upon four different heart conditions: the hardened path, the shallow rocky ground, the crowded thorny ground, and the receptive good soil. Some never receive the Word, some respond quickly but have no root, some allow competing cares to choke their fruitfulness, and others hear, understand, endure, and produce fruit.
