- 0:10Speaker 1: Wow.
- 0:11Speaker 2: The Pit Top Podcast is officially back for twenty twenty six,
- 0:15Speaker 2: and this season hits differently. Twenty twenty six is not
- 0:19Speaker 2: just another year on the calendar. It's the final chapter
- 0:21Speaker 2: before MotoGP twenty twenty seven.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Regulation reset, a.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Complete technical overhaul is coming, new engine rules, new era limits,
- 0:29Speaker 2: a new era that is next year, and we've still
- 0:33Speaker 2: got twenty two races to go first. Here's the twist though,
- 0:37Speaker 2: this year, most of the manufacturers are locked in an
- 0:40Speaker 2: engine free so that means there's no major development happening there.
- 0:44Speaker 2: So where do you find the edge when you can't
- 0:47Speaker 2: touch an engine. You get creative, You chase marginal games,
- 0:50Speaker 2: You obsess over details, and that's exactly where today's guests will.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Come in Pit Top Podcast.
- 0:57Speaker 2: We are back. I am your Home to Rinita Vmulan
- 1:01Speaker 2: alongside mister Matt Clayton, our Moto GP guru. Matt we
- 1:06Speaker 2: were talking off yet it feels like only ten minutes
- 1:08Speaker 2: ago we were on holiday, and then ten minutes ago
- 1:12Speaker 2: we were recording our last podcast.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Yeah, it does seem like a while, but look, we
- 1:16Speaker 4: are so back. I'm really looking forward to this season.
- 1:19Speaker 4: It's kind of a it's a strange one in a way,
- 1:21Speaker 4: because there'll be some carryover from last season and everyone's
- 1:24Speaker 4: got half an asle, maybe three quarters of an eye
- 1:26Speaker 4: on twenty twenty seven. But there's a lot to play
- 1:29Speaker 4: out this year. And as you were saying before, where
- 1:32Speaker 4: do you find the marginal gains where some of the
- 1:35Speaker 4: easy avenues.
- 1:36Speaker 5: Have been cut off?
- 1:36Speaker 4: I think that's what er I thanks for. Today's guest
- 1:39Speaker 4: is going to help us out with it is And.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Before we get into that, we just want to say
- 1:42Speaker 3: a big thank you as.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Always to Shannon's Insurance for sponsoring this episode. But returning
- 1:47Speaker 2: once again to the Pittok Podcast is a technical wizard,
- 1:50Speaker 2: as he was formerly referred to as in his latest
- 1:53Speaker 2: episode on the Oxley Bomb Podcast, mister Peter Bomb. Peter,
- 1:58Speaker 2: welcome back and long time no see because we saw
- 2:01Speaker 2: each other in Sapain a few weeks ago.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Yep, thanks for asking me again. It's a pleasure to
- 2:06Speaker 5: be here and I'm just happy to help you guys
- 2:09Speaker 5: out and talk about multitude technology. You could wake me
- 2:12Speaker 5: up anytime for doing that, so.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I love it.
- 2:16Speaker 2: So yeah, Matt, Well, we were scorching in sepain, you
- 2:19Speaker 2: were freezing in New York, but I still think I'd
- 2:23Speaker 2: rather have been at Spaine sweating. When I hear those
- 2:25Speaker 2: motor GP bikes start in the morning, there's no better
- 2:28Speaker 2: sound than that.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Yeah, no motor GP happening in New York. The only
- 2:31Speaker 4: thing that was happening in New York was snowplaows for
- 2:33Speaker 4: a couple of weeks there. But yeah, it's the it's
- 2:36Speaker 4: the beginning of It's the best time of the year
- 2:39Speaker 4: preseason testing, because you know, there's the phony war that's
- 2:42Speaker 4: going on. Who's developing, who's not, who's you know, who's sambagging,
- 2:45Speaker 4: who's playing games. We finally start to get some answers
- 2:49Speaker 4: this weekend at Burhan. But we've had two pretty interesting
- 2:52Speaker 4: tests and maybe not quite the pecking order that we
- 2:56Speaker 4: thought coming in because there's different manufacturers that are coming
- 2:59Speaker 4: up against some different problems. Fabio Corduro's body language would
- 3:02Speaker 4: probably tell you with what's going on with Yamaha at
- 3:04Speaker 4: the moment.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Yeah, Yamaha is definitely a talking point, and I think
- 3:09Speaker 2: we're gonna save that one. Let's let's wait, let's let's
- 3:12Speaker 2: leave everybody hooked on the edge for him, and it's
- 3:13Speaker 2: like a good movie here. Let's start at the top
- 3:16Speaker 2: and for me, I feel like I want to start
- 3:18Speaker 2: with a Prillier because what we saw and what me
- 3:21Speaker 2: and Peter spoke about in Spain.
- 3:23Speaker 1: It felt like a Prillier looked really strong early on.
- 3:27Speaker 2: It felt like they found something straight away, they were
- 3:29Speaker 2: good to go, and then they were in to put
- 3:31Speaker 2: the lapse. Now we know coming into Boyram, this is
- 3:34Speaker 2: a track that seemed to suit some of.
- 3:37Speaker 3: The A Prillier riders last year.
- 3:38Speaker 2: It's the first time we've seen Juge Martin back on
- 3:40Speaker 2: the bike. Iagura was this magician here last year and
- 3:44Speaker 2: then seemed to fade out through about the rest of
- 3:46Speaker 2: the year. But we've seen Bears strongth from the get go,
- 3:49Speaker 2: as well as Raoul Fernandez. Peter, what have you seen
- 3:54Speaker 2: from a Prilliers apart from some funny looking arrow on
- 3:57Speaker 2: the tail unit?
- 4:00Speaker 5: Yeah, you have to. It's quite it's quite ReSpectacle that
- 4:04Speaker 5: watching an a prelliermotorg fed Bui because it's so weird,
- 4:07Speaker 5: it's so prototype, it's so special. I love it from
- 4:11Speaker 5: a technical point of view, but see it has nothing
- 4:13Speaker 5: to do with the normal motorbike as we thought we
- 4:16Speaker 5: knew it. But yeah, it works, it does the trick.
- 4:18Speaker 5: They're very very clever. Yeah, you start with the one
- 4:22Speaker 5: I was expecting you to start with the one we
- 4:24Speaker 5: all expect to to to to rule the championship again,
- 4:27Speaker 5: to cut it, but let's start with a pretty because
- 4:29Speaker 5: I'm really really uh and to just buy what I
- 4:33Speaker 5: prilly have done. So they closed for me. They closed
- 4:37Speaker 5: the gap to the Gatti, I think completely. And they
- 4:42Speaker 5: did it with just one rider, which is unbelievable because
- 4:45Speaker 5: the strength of the Gatti, as we all know, is
- 4:48Speaker 5: having input from a lot of riders. I'm working very
- 4:50Speaker 5: very cleverly with all the them, but they have just
- 4:52Speaker 5: one because the other one sabotage his career all year.
- 4:56Speaker 5: Is only good in was only good in the beginning
- 4:59Speaker 5: of the especially Yeah, but wasn't able to give a
- 5:01Speaker 5: lot of proper feedback. But Oftenandless is not known for
- 5:04Speaker 5: giving any proper feedback at all, So it was it's
- 5:08Speaker 5: down to one right. It means this engineers there in
- 5:11Speaker 5: no Wala, they very very deeply understand what they're doing,
- 5:15Speaker 5: so they can develop a bike, improve it, improve on
- 5:19Speaker 5: it with with just one rider's input, which in all
- 5:22Speaker 5: respect I got in mind might work here a little bit.
- 5:24Speaker 5: It's not an alien. It's probably going to be the
- 5:26Speaker 5: world champion this year, don't I'm not surprised if he is.
- 5:29Speaker 5: But he's not an alien. So yeah, heads off to
- 5:33Speaker 5: a pretty big big time because they they improved without
- 5:38Speaker 5: any downside on it, which is very very hard on
- 5:41Speaker 5: the current level. Emotig you found something here, ah shit,
- 5:44Speaker 5: one week later we learned we lost something over there.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Sapang is very very different from from Budiram and on
- 5:51Speaker 5: both tracks they are just completely there, unbelievably impressed by
- 5:56Speaker 5: a prelioge performance of or they will be there all
- 5:58Speaker 5: year back. I mean he's a weird guy. I mean,
- 6:02Speaker 5: here's a character, but he's also such a talent. As
- 6:04Speaker 5: soon as he gets his ship together, which he seemed
- 6:06Speaker 5: to be now he's immediately flying, showing how good the
- 6:09Speaker 5: bake is. You give him a good bake, you give
- 6:12Speaker 5: him a little bit of pressure and said go for
- 6:13Speaker 5: one lap, and the guy is amazing, amazing. So where
- 6:16Speaker 5: he come from, I mean, he did a lot of
- 6:19Speaker 5: things wrong himself list year, but still he's such a
- 6:21Speaker 5: talent and if he gets his share together, and Aprelier
- 6:24Speaker 5: as always been very very kind to friendly with him,
- 6:27Speaker 5: he's he's going to probably have a super sip good area,
- 6:31Speaker 5: which is not thanks to him. I need to see.
- 6:34Speaker 4: It's interesting, Peter, like you both mentioned that that you know,
- 6:37Speaker 4: some teams, some manufacturers take time to warm up through
- 6:40Speaker 4: the preseason, and these guys were just on it from
- 6:43Speaker 4: the moment that Sepang started, and the level has it's
- 6:46Speaker 4: certainly not dipped, it's just slightly methodically risen the whole
- 6:50Speaker 4: way through these two tests. What do you put that
- 6:52Speaker 4: down to, Peter, because you mentioned before that you know
- 6:54Speaker 4: Marco Berzeki's in a position with this manufacturer that I
- 6:58Speaker 4: don't think they hired Beds to be this. I don't
- 7:00Speaker 4: think there's win there. I don't think there's went there
- 7:02Speaker 4: to be this. But because of this weird because of
- 7:05Speaker 4: this weird set of circumstances with Jujai Martin, almost this
- 7:08Speaker 4: like perfect sort of alchemy has happened between the rider
- 7:11Speaker 4: and the team and the technical direction, and it's maybe
- 7:14Speaker 4: taken them to a higher ceiling than they might have
- 7:15Speaker 4: got otherwise.
- 7:16Speaker 5: That's a super good explanation because that that's what happened
- 7:19Speaker 5: with him as a rider. It's not like I didn't
- 7:23Speaker 5: wade him. He was I think he was thirty in
- 7:25Speaker 5: his first year in multiply rookie of the year, so yeah,
- 7:28Speaker 5: he could do something. But then the next year on
- 7:30Speaker 5: a difficult d Gatti, he struggled more. He struggled hugely,
- 7:34Speaker 5: a lot. It was a difficult model year of Dugatti
- 7:37Speaker 5: he had, but he struggled a lot and then a
- 7:39Speaker 5: pretty a choshi. They chose him to be the second
- 7:43Speaker 5: rider behind the guy that was supposed to lead for them,
- 7:47Speaker 5: and then didn't do that horamat In. But this almost
- 7:51Speaker 5: perfect It turned out to be like a perfect storm
- 7:53Speaker 5: for him. He grew so much with the confidence they
- 7:56Speaker 5: gave him. He just got better under that pressure and
- 8:00Speaker 5: and very very calm and took us time to learn
- 8:02Speaker 5: if we got back just one year, but he was
- 8:04Speaker 5: because he didn't have the best range we can in
- 8:05Speaker 5: the first half of the year was not great from Marco.
- 8:08Speaker 5: But where we are now, what a different guy it is.
- 8:11Speaker 5: It's so interesting to see how radus can it's almost
- 8:15Speaker 5: exploding instead of growing a couple of months. Becomes so
- 8:18Speaker 5: much better if you put them in a certain set
- 8:21Speaker 5: of circumstances. Yeah, Marco is probably a hope for everyone
- 8:24Speaker 5: who struggles a little bit bitter because when everything when
- 8:27Speaker 5: all the ducks are in a row, it can it
- 8:30Speaker 5: can a lot can happen.
- 8:31Speaker 4: And the funny thing renated for me. I was just
- 8:33Speaker 4: going to add just real quick. And we talked about
- 8:35Speaker 4: this last time we had Peter on. I know Massimo
- 8:38Speaker 4: Riveler from his F one days, and I know the
- 8:41Speaker 4: type of I know the type of man manager he is,
- 8:44Speaker 4: and the thing I like about watching that team operate
- 8:47Speaker 4: is that he is the figurehead, as he's supposed to be,
- 8:50Speaker 4: but he allows the people to do their jobs in
- 8:53Speaker 4: their position of expertise. So everyone's coming at their work
- 8:56Speaker 4: from a position of belief and confidence. And Peter's here
- 8:59Speaker 4: to talk about the technical side of things. I'm going
- 9:01Speaker 4: to just channel vibes here because that's my specialty. But
- 9:04Speaker 4: there's something about watching the way that team works that
- 9:07Speaker 4: you're not surprised that it's working, and I think a
- 9:10Speaker 4: lot of that comes from the top. I love the
- 9:11Speaker 4: way he manages this group. Even when everything was going
- 9:15Speaker 4: terribly last year with Jje Martin, he had every reason
- 9:19Speaker 4: to react in a very different way and didn't. I
- 9:21Speaker 4: thought that was super interesting because of what it meant
- 9:24Speaker 4: in the moment but also the message that sent to
- 9:26Speaker 4: the rest of that team, and I just really they're
- 9:28Speaker 4: obviously not a massive organization compared to some of them,
- 9:31Speaker 4: but talk about getting the most out of what they've got.
- 9:34Speaker 4: I think that starts with him at the very top.
- 9:37Speaker 5: You nailed it completely, Dawn, mate. You nailed it completely
- 9:42Speaker 5: up to the point that I was thinking, hmm, well,
- 9:46Speaker 5: I mean somewhere deep inside, it must have hurt a lot,
- 9:49Speaker 5: because they stood up for every time he fucked up again,
- 9:54Speaker 5: and they every time raised that had yet it's probably
- 9:56Speaker 5: our fould Probably our faults. We sent you out again
- 9:59Speaker 5: with the medium tie. It was not was you know,
- 10:02Speaker 5: he hurts himself in a supermoto accident when it's zero degrees,
- 10:06Speaker 5: So sorry, we will. They always said, no, no, no, you
- 10:09Speaker 5: are with us, You are with it. I mean, that's
- 10:10Speaker 5: what you mean. But he himself turned in the middle
- 10:14Speaker 5: of the season his back to them, say ah, by
- 10:16Speaker 5: the way, I'm going to Homna and now okay, we're
- 10:20Speaker 5: going ahead a little bit of it. So he's a character.
- 10:23Speaker 5: But they managed him very very well. And yeah, like
- 10:25Speaker 5: you said, they that's super super clever because you can't
- 10:28Speaker 5: change what happened, and you have to deal a couple
- 10:31Speaker 5: of more months of years even with your team, so
- 10:34Speaker 5: better support them. But deep deep inside he has done
- 10:38Speaker 5: some pain in Auprelia. But yeah, they managed that team
- 10:42Speaker 5: very very well, they seem, and that they seem you
- 10:45Speaker 5: don't notice that it's actually very small factory. You don't
- 10:49Speaker 5: notice it because they have everything started. So yeah, again
- 10:54Speaker 5: you'd a lot of a lot of praise for them
- 10:55Speaker 5: for the atmosphere. And this is actually the team that
- 10:57Speaker 5: until not that long ago, was to work in the box.
- 11:04Speaker 5: Sometimes I had my question mark over the decision making
- 11:07Speaker 5: in the box during the weekends, but they could easily
- 11:10Speaker 5: have one super good race and then the next weekend
- 11:13Speaker 5: when they couldn't find the way on Friday morning, they
- 11:15Speaker 5: never found it all weekend, which was a bit of
- 11:17Speaker 5: a end. They had a little bit too many like
- 11:20Speaker 5: silly little bad luck things and at some point it's
- 11:23Speaker 5: not just bad luck that it's just you know, pike
- 11:25Speaker 5: that go out of the pit box and then alfa
- 11:27Speaker 5: halvep it stops that shouldn't happen, And these little simple
- 11:31Speaker 5: things happened a little bit too much until recently at Aprilia.
- 11:34Speaker 5: But step by step they are there completely ready to
- 11:38Speaker 5: fight for the championship with another riders. They were expecting
- 11:40Speaker 5: it to do well.
- 11:42Speaker 2: That's the thing I wanted to bring up just before
- 11:44Speaker 2: is we saw the announcement of Marco re signing with
- 11:47Speaker 2: A twenty twenty seven, one of the first official ones
- 11:51Speaker 2: to come out. Do you think this year is Marco
- 11:56Speaker 2: Petzeki going to be the one who can challenge Mark
- 12:00Speaker 2: Markeev for the championship?
- 12:02Speaker 4: Yes, straight on the.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Money there.
- 12:07Speaker 5: He will. I expect him to do it because first
- 12:10Speaker 5: of all, Marco, let's start. Let's start by Mark mcas.
- 12:14Speaker 5: He's vulnerable. He's more vulnerable than ever because if nothing
- 12:19Speaker 5: goes wrong with Mark, I put my little money that
- 12:23Speaker 5: I that I have on his championship. But he's vulnerable,
- 12:27Speaker 5: so be careful there. Marco Bzeki seems to be not
- 12:31Speaker 5: vulnerable at all. He can accept Okay, this is P seven.
- 12:33Speaker 5: That's it for today. I had a shit start, or
- 12:35Speaker 5: I'm stuck behind somebody, that's it. He doesn't do any
- 12:39Speaker 5: emotionally and you know a little bit silly pressure mistakes
- 12:45Speaker 5: or decisions. He's calm and calm springs Championship because you
- 12:49Speaker 5: win on your bad days, not on your good day,
- 12:51Speaker 5: the good days will be there with you really are.
- 12:53Speaker 5: So I'm not saying he's going to be world champion,
- 12:56Speaker 5: but he's he's like him and Pakawa for me, the
- 12:59Speaker 5: guys that that will have the best chance shortly after Mike,
- 13:02Speaker 5: and probably because if so, then it's because Mark did
- 13:06Speaker 5: something which he showed us like yesterday, in the day
- 13:09Speaker 5: before yesterday. It's very very capable of doing and repeating
- 13:12Speaker 5: that this weekend again doing something silly and then stopping
- 13:15Speaker 5: his own his own chances. Mark doesn't bound so well
- 13:18Speaker 5: as he did when he was young, but he kept
- 13:20Speaker 5: on crashing. He did three crashes and the first one
- 13:23Speaker 5: was super silly and seriously fast. He was still just
- 13:28Speaker 5: fully upright when he lost it. He was he went
- 13:30Speaker 5: through his letters completely, which you don't often see him ootijip,
- 13:34Speaker 5: so that was a biggie. Unfortunately he didn't start to
- 13:37Speaker 5: tumble because if he tumbles now with his shoulder on
- 13:39Speaker 5: his age, ah, you need to be lucky to again
- 13:43Speaker 5: walk away like he did all his life. The habit
- 13:46Speaker 5: is really deep in the character there to immediately go
- 13:48Speaker 5: to the limit, go over the limit, see what happens.
- 13:50Speaker 5: Normally he saves it, and I learned from that. Hmm.
- 13:53Speaker 5: So he's still the fastest for me on the best bike,
- 13:58Speaker 5: but he's vulnerable and if you're if something goes wrong,
- 14:03Speaker 5: it's it's out of Michael Bozeki. You're back on at
- 14:05Speaker 5: that gym point, and probably is broller as well, but
- 14:07Speaker 5: it's brother want fight him that hard?
- 14:10Speaker 4: Well that's a that's a separate podcast pleader, isn't it.
- 14:12Speaker 4: But you've said, yeah, yeah, you've segued us quite nicely
- 14:17Speaker 4: into Decati because the question I think we're all wanting
- 14:21Speaker 4: after last year, because I mean I got sick of
- 14:24Speaker 4: writing about it. You probably got sick of talking about it.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Is is this a GP twenty five? Is it a
- 14:28Speaker 4: twenty four? Is it a twenty four point one? Is
- 14:30Speaker 4: it a twenty six point zero? What is this thing?
- 14:32Speaker 4: So this year it's twenty twenty six, we know they've
- 14:34Speaker 4: got the engine frozen. What arrow are they going to use?
- 14:38Speaker 4: Because we know they came to the first test with
- 14:39Speaker 4: something and then they started testing something else like this
- 14:42Speaker 4: is a bit of a Frankenstein's monster of a bike.
- 14:44Speaker 4: Now we've got to this last year of the regulation set,
- 14:46Speaker 4: So what exactly is the factory team going to run
- 14:49Speaker 4: this year.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Ah, very very two doy twenty four. They didn't know
- 14:54Speaker 5: how good two twenty four what's actually until they started
- 14:57Speaker 5: to try to improve the ruin. It made it to
- 15:00Speaker 5: twenty twenty five. So they were so lucky that the
- 15:03Speaker 5: twenty twenty four engine was homologated. They are so lucky
- 15:06Speaker 5: at the Cuddy they have so many engines in different
- 15:10Speaker 5: team that the twenty four engine is they can backpedal
- 15:13Speaker 5: on their engine or the manufacturers could cannot, so they can.
- 15:16Speaker 5: They're they're for me that that that's the thing. They
- 15:19Speaker 5: went back to the twenty twenty four engine and use
- 15:22Speaker 5: some of the things that grew good or not twenty five.
- 15:24Speaker 5: But the twenty five bike was very very difficult. So yeah,
- 15:27Speaker 5: they have their They didn't make a new bike, and
- 15:31Speaker 5: especially when you look at the arrow. That was the
- 15:33Speaker 5: interesting thing from this test again. The first day in
- 15:36Speaker 5: Sapunk they had some dramatically new front faring looks like
- 15:40Speaker 5: KTM and Aprilia now has as well. They had something
- 15:43Speaker 5: similar and after half day we never saw it again.
- 15:47Speaker 5: They are now the only choice they basically have to
- 15:50Speaker 5: make now this week for what errow they will homologate
- 15:54Speaker 5: is between twenty twenty four twenty five. It's quite likely
- 15:58Speaker 5: twenty twenty four all the best laps we're done in
- 16:00Speaker 5: twenty twenty four. Arrow so, and it's also a sign
- 16:05Speaker 5: of I think it's a sign of how much had
- 16:08Speaker 5: of the world, of the rest of the world. Tagutti isvent.
- 16:11Speaker 5: It's about Arrow. They already had something very very good
- 16:13Speaker 5: in twenty twenty five, then tried a little bit left
- 16:16Speaker 5: now right, Oh, easy spoiled. We can't get any better
- 16:18Speaker 5: with As long as bikes have this dimension that's hit unbelievable,
- 16:22Speaker 5: everybody else is to throwing parts at it to really
- 16:24Speaker 5: surprise that something doesn't work or works a lot better
- 16:26Speaker 5: at than everything. And d Gutti already oight on the
- 16:29Speaker 5: top of the pyramid. That's it. That's it for Arrow
- 16:31Speaker 5: unbelievea case.
- 16:33Speaker 4: So the logical step from that question then is if
- 16:36Speaker 4: we're thinking that Ducaddi is more twenty twenty four spec
- 16:39Speaker 4: du Catti, what does that do for the rider hierarchy there?
- 16:43Speaker 4: Because we saw Alex Marquez have the best season of
- 16:45Speaker 4: his Murder VP career last year, and a season that
- 16:47Speaker 4: we probably never really saw coming because he was, as
- 16:50Speaker 4: it turned out, riding the best model of the Ducatti
- 16:52Speaker 4: on the grid. You could almost say that Mark won
- 16:55Speaker 4: the championship maybe in spite of what he was riding
- 16:58Speaker 4: last year, not because of it. And we saw Peco
- 17:00Speaker 4: just the most baffling season of all time. So if
- 17:02Speaker 4: they're all we're assuming on very very similar spect bikes. Now,
- 17:06Speaker 4: if they're going back to this twenty twenty four, what
- 17:08Speaker 4: do you think that does for the rider dynamic? How
- 17:11Speaker 4: far ahead is marked? And then this whole Peco Alex
- 17:14Speaker 4: thing last year that was probably different to the way
- 17:16Speaker 4: all of us thought it was going to turn out.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Do you see that maybe going back towards Banyai this
- 17:21Speaker 4: year simply because he's got something that he can believe in.
- 17:24Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, I'm going to make it complicated. Still, I
- 17:29Speaker 5: still think that twenty twenty five was not a bad bike.
- 17:32Speaker 5: It got a bad bike for normal people. Normal people
- 17:36Speaker 5: like really good guys that can be world champion in
- 17:38Speaker 5: AFRIC class except moment, but it's still below Mark macass
- 17:42Speaker 5: That was Yes, they didn't took off wrong turn from
- 17:45Speaker 5: twenty twenty five to twenty twenty five. Indicati, they just
- 17:48Speaker 5: made a step too much because they do a lot
- 17:51Speaker 5: with Ai. They do a lot with taking out emotions,
- 17:54Speaker 5: just facts, facts, facts. But in twenty twenty four they
- 17:57Speaker 5: also saw a lot of new data comming from another
- 18:00Speaker 5: guy on a twenty three Ducati that is like dangerous
- 18:04Speaker 5: data to feed into a system. But part of that
- 18:08Speaker 5: data led to the twenty twenty five bike, and the
- 18:11Speaker 5: result was for me not a bad bike, but the
- 18:14Speaker 5: bike that was even for Mark difficult to ride, but
- 18:17Speaker 5: when he was riding it it was better. It was
- 18:19Speaker 5: the best, but only for him, with all his concentration
- 18:22Speaker 5: and everything, it was even better than the twenty twenty four.
- 18:26Speaker 5: For everybody else was a disaster. It gives so little
- 18:28Speaker 5: and weird feedback that they couldn't get a head around it,
- 18:30Speaker 5: and then lost their heads so they backpedaled a little
- 18:34Speaker 5: bit as a result. As a result, it will be
- 18:37Speaker 5: like relatively easier for everybody to go just as fast
- 18:40Speaker 5: from very very close to Mark. Mark has less areas
- 18:43Speaker 5: now to make the difference. And at the same time,
- 18:45Speaker 5: like I said, he's he appears to me really vulnerable
- 18:48Speaker 5: since that crash with bark Obseki last year and the
- 18:52Speaker 5: way he looked. He looks suddenly older and tired and
- 18:55Speaker 5: keeps crashing, so everybody. I expect to cut the The
- 19:00Speaker 5: ducats are have improved a little bit and they're all
- 19:03Speaker 5: more closer to all the riders will be closer to
- 19:05Speaker 5: each other, having more chances, which if you're clever with
- 19:07Speaker 5: s Mark is could be in adventures for him because
- 19:11Speaker 5: they're stealing points from each other. But if he bounces
- 19:15Speaker 5: one time too many, it's gone interesting.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I want to go to the other side of the
- 19:20Speaker 2: factory G Catty team for a second and talk about
- 19:22Speaker 2: Pecker because it seems like we've seen a switch or
- 19:26Speaker 2: something change.
- 19:28Speaker 1: And all of a sudden, Pecker seems back. Now.
- 19:31Speaker 3: I don't want to like jinx him and I don't
- 19:32Speaker 3: want to jump ahead.
- 19:33Speaker 2: But in Sepang we heard positive things. But what's been
- 19:37Speaker 2: the outcome from the buyram test.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Is is this positive?
- 19:40Speaker 2: Is this trajectory that he's on going to stick around? Peter,
- 19:43Speaker 2: do you think he's he's back?
- 19:45Speaker 5: Well, what happened last year was so weirded back or
- 19:48Speaker 5: so we all have to be very very careful. But
- 19:51Speaker 5: if it was any other situation, you will be one
- 19:53Speaker 5: hundred percentual each back. But it's beco and we've seen
- 19:56Speaker 5: last year, so I'm going to be a little bit careful,
- 19:59Speaker 5: but Nina, no, I'm ninety nine percent suries back because
- 20:01Speaker 5: I remember the first day last year in the Sapunk test,
- 20:05Speaker 5: he and Mark came up to the media center and
- 20:07Speaker 5: they both looked worried, especially Peco. This is we are fast,
- 20:11Speaker 5: but it's a weird bike and it doesn't stop very well.
- 20:13Speaker 5: It doesn't give me the concept the first word he said,
- 20:15Speaker 5: and he kept repeating it all year long. The bike
- 20:19Speaker 5: never became a lot better. So and now he comes
- 20:22Speaker 5: back after the first day. You were there as well
- 20:24Speaker 5: as said, whoa, whoa, Okay, this is okay. Now you
- 20:28Speaker 5: can't make that up. You don't make that up. I
- 20:31Speaker 5: heard from people that know him quite well, and they
- 20:36Speaker 5: told me things that were not surprisingly, but like, you
- 20:39Speaker 5: really don't want any changes. When he's the type of
- 20:42Speaker 5: guy that you give him something, don't touch it, give
- 20:45Speaker 5: him all the time to get used to it. Then
- 20:46Speaker 5: he extracts everything from that package. Don't go the next
- 20:50Speaker 5: race and change the right height again, or put another
- 20:53Speaker 5: right eye system or another spring in his front falk
- 20:55Speaker 5: because even when it might be in might be theoretically
- 21:00Speaker 5: about it, but debill cost him too much time to
- 21:02Speaker 5: get used to it. He hates changes, very conservative gay.
- 21:08Speaker 4: It's interesting though, because he said last year a couple
- 21:10Speaker 4: of times that he said, I'm not the most adaptable rider,
- 21:13Speaker 4: which is you know, you know, we knew that, but
- 21:15Speaker 4: it's something for someone to admit that in the moment.
- 21:18Speaker 4: And the thing I always think with Peco is that
- 21:20Speaker 4: the sweet spot is really really narrow, but when he
- 21:23Speaker 4: gets himself in it, he can just churning. We saw
- 21:26Speaker 4: it in twenty three and twenty four. He can just
- 21:28Speaker 4: churn out races where it feels like there's no one
- 21:30Speaker 4: else there and he's racing basically against himself because he
- 21:32Speaker 4: can be so good when he's in that narrow sweet spot.
- 21:35Speaker 4: And last year he fell into the sweet spot in Motegi,
- 21:39Speaker 4: and he fell into the sweet spot in Malaysia to
- 21:41Speaker 4: an extent, and the rest of the time he couldn't
- 21:42Speaker 4: see it with a telescope. He's all over the place.
- 21:45Speaker 4: And so if this bike is more forgiving this year
- 21:47Speaker 4: and he can get himself back into that happy place,
- 21:49Speaker 4: then yeah, I can absolutely see where.
- 21:51Speaker 5: He's going to be.
- 21:52Speaker 2: But what is that sweet spot? What is it that
- 21:54Speaker 2: he's needing from the bike? Is it front end feeling
- 21:57Speaker 2: or confidence there is that where he was.
- 22:01Speaker 5: It's front end, which is so understandable, which is so
- 22:04Speaker 5: understandable if any team that has a reasonable or a
- 22:08Speaker 5: good level asked me to come in as a consultant
- 22:10Speaker 5: and speak with the either and see the results. Sometimes
- 22:15Speaker 5: I do it jokingly because I always know when I
- 22:17Speaker 5: make a joke and say I know already what's going
- 22:19Speaker 5: to be your problem, and then they're all like, oh
- 22:21Speaker 5: really yeah, because and it's so easy to say it's
- 22:23Speaker 5: not because it's because that is the what is the
- 22:25Speaker 5: scariest part of racing a motorpike. It's going into the
- 22:29Speaker 5: corner with a lot of brake pressure. Because when that's
- 22:31Speaker 5: when you overdo that, it goes so fucking fast, it's
- 22:34Speaker 5: flick and you're on your ass and you hurt yourself.
- 22:37Speaker 5: And while mid corner, like the two crashes that that
- 22:40Speaker 5: Mark made this weekend, are just simple. You know, there
- 22:43Speaker 5: are no surprises. You're already fighting that that's front end
- 22:47Speaker 5: going white white, White's thinking you save it safe, it saved.
- 22:49Speaker 5: Oh no, just let's go and when we are accelerating
- 22:52Speaker 5: over the rear. Electronics helps you a lot, give you
- 22:55Speaker 5: a lot of feedback when you crash over the rear.
- 22:58Speaker 5: You really need elected all the signals and try and
- 23:01Speaker 5: thinking you were a lot better than you really are,
- 23:04Speaker 5: but then you really did something against all the warnings.
- 23:07Speaker 5: But going into corners with a super amount of brake
- 23:11Speaker 5: pressure and having all that pressure on your front tire
- 23:13Speaker 5: while it's already leaning a lot. When it lets go there,
- 23:17Speaker 5: it's usually super super fast, and that costs you confidence
- 23:19Speaker 5: because that's also where all the time is. Thirty percent
- 23:23Speaker 5: of the lap time they are on the brakes, so
- 23:25Speaker 5: there's a lot more time to be gained during breaking
- 23:28Speaker 5: than an acceleration because they're not thirty percent of the
- 23:30Speaker 5: time of all gas. I can tell you that the
- 23:32Speaker 5: three hundred doorge power, So that's where all the lab
- 23:34Speaker 5: time is. Bikes don't stop, look at cash cash, hit
- 23:39Speaker 5: the brake, it start to turn in. Bikes hit the brakes,
- 23:42Speaker 5: sit there forever and then start to turn in. Bikes
- 23:45Speaker 5: don't stop. Because the center grafty is quite high. It's
- 23:47Speaker 5: a short motorbike, it real immediately topple over. So the
- 23:52Speaker 5: guy that starts to break later is not the guy
- 23:54Speaker 5: that breaks more effectively in the straight line. Usually it's
- 23:57Speaker 5: the guy that can turn in with a lot of
- 24:00Speaker 5: brake pressure. Someone you know. You have to look at
- 24:02Speaker 5: some of the pictures I think I posted one one
- 24:04Speaker 5: or two weeks ago from the Punk. Zarko turned into
- 24:07Speaker 5: the super slow turned nine in the Punk and he
- 24:10Speaker 5: had already his knee on the ground and the fork
- 24:12Speaker 5: was still on the bottom. That's an unbelievable amount of
- 24:14Speaker 5: pressure you have on your front tie theret a lot,
- 24:17Speaker 5: a lot of confidence, and if you overdo that a
- 24:19Speaker 5: little bit at that moment is just what and you're gone.
- 24:22Speaker 5: So at that slow speed corner, it doesn't hurt you,
- 24:24Speaker 5: it's just you found you look for the faster corners.
- 24:26Speaker 5: Bo can be scary. If that happens a couple of times,
- 24:30Speaker 5: then you don't lose one or two tenths, then you're
- 24:32Speaker 5: immediately looking at half a second. Yeah, and it takes
- 24:35Speaker 5: a lot of time to get that back. Remember that
- 24:38Speaker 5: Packer was also he never wanted this longer front fork
- 24:43Speaker 5: from lands, and then when he struggled forever, he went
- 24:46Speaker 5: into the longer ones and as soon as he had
- 24:47Speaker 5: an okay feeling went back to he doesn't want any changes.
- 24:51Speaker 5: If it was up to him, we will still be
- 24:52Speaker 5: riding in twenty twenty chap bike over there, you know,
- 24:55Speaker 5: really something that it was used to. But yeah, you
- 25:00Speaker 5: know we're now sorry, I said better not probably what
- 25:04Speaker 5: you're also meaning when he said we have to be
- 25:05Speaker 5: careful is he's been fast and spunk even last year packo.
- 25:10Speaker 5: So having a good feeling there in the test doesn't
- 25:13Speaker 5: probably mean everything was it. It was not last year,
- 25:19Speaker 5: but the year before when he did something super super
- 25:21Speaker 5: brave in Burdhi Ram as well into the last lap
- 25:24Speaker 5: trying to outbreak everybody over the curbs there. I mean,
- 25:26Speaker 5: she she, It's not an easy track to overtake, but
- 25:29Speaker 5: he at least gave it everything. So yeah, nearly nearly
- 25:32Speaker 5: made it work there would have made him immortal and
- 25:35Speaker 5: that would have been the classic movie. He just didn't
- 25:38Speaker 5: do it. But yeah, he so that track shoots him.
- 25:41Speaker 5: It's it's too early. But then nah no, I really
- 25:45Speaker 5: hope I'm not screwing hisself.
- 25:47Speaker 2: And now that goes back, that goes back, and I
- 25:50Speaker 2: like Jason at the moment, right, I think as well.
- 25:54Speaker 5: He's such a gentleman. You have to love Paco even
- 25:57Speaker 5: more when he struggled, because everybody can be a win
- 26:00Speaker 5: and then be very generous and have a lot of
- 26:02Speaker 5: attention for it. No, no, no, it's when they don't win,
- 26:04Speaker 5: and he did not win a lot last year. He's
- 26:07Speaker 5: such a gentleman, you know, and he kept me so
- 26:09Speaker 5: honestly he feels I mean, it's almost like painful to
- 26:13Speaker 5: be close to him with your recorder and listen having
- 26:16Speaker 5: to ask him question because you see it hurts. But
- 26:18Speaker 5: he's open. He doesn't he's put the shield around him
- 26:23Speaker 5: because I'm in trouble, which I will fully understand, but no,
- 26:26Speaker 5: the doors are open. I'm hurting.
- 26:28Speaker 4: Well, you're right, there's there's something. He's very authentic, I
- 26:32Speaker 4: think is the word that.
- 26:33Speaker 5: I used to him.
- 26:34Speaker 4: And you're right, like when you when you're sitting there
- 26:36Speaker 4: listening to him talking minute detail about just how dreadful
- 26:40Speaker 4: everything's been and how down on confidence he is, like
- 26:42Speaker 4: you need someone to come and give him a hug.
- 26:44Speaker 4: It's actually sad to listen to a lot of the
- 26:45Speaker 4: time because he is big, so honest about it all.
- 26:47Speaker 4: But related, we've talked about a parlier in J CADDI
- 26:52Speaker 4: so far, which is clearly one or two of whatever
- 26:54Speaker 4: order you want to be. And I'm really interested to
- 26:57Speaker 4: see Peter's response here when we ask him who's next
- 27:00Speaker 4: in the pecking order? Is it Honda or is it KTM,
- 27:03Speaker 4: because KTM is almost two different questions. There's a Pedro
- 27:06Speaker 4: Acosta KTM and there's everyone else KTM. So who is
- 27:11Speaker 4: in your mind paid next in that pecking order based
- 27:13Speaker 4: on what you've seen in testing.
- 27:15Speaker 5: And already said it there?
- 27:17Speaker 4: Okay, so it's a cost room.
- 27:19Speaker 5: But don't have an alien. There's only three aliens. Hold
- 27:22Speaker 5: don't have an alien, and they're all, okay, that bike
- 27:25Speaker 5: there is there. That bike's already that's guy's stars are
- 27:30Speaker 5: looking at it if they think for the next year.
- 27:32Speaker 5: This year still has to start, but we're all speaking
- 27:34Speaker 5: about the next year. Where everybody wants to go. You
- 27:36Speaker 5: want to go to Honda because they have the momentum.
- 27:38Speaker 5: They went in the deepest, lowest point possible and but
- 27:44Speaker 5: went back up and they really have some momentum coming
- 27:46Speaker 5: now and they're working in a good way. There's no
- 27:48Speaker 5: luck at Honda. They know what they're doing and they're
- 27:51Speaker 5: working super hard. They're reacting very hard. They build a
- 27:54Speaker 5: solid base and they know also when to stop experimenting
- 27:57Speaker 5: because they know or very since valentialized. They're on a
- 28:00Speaker 5: super good level and it's so easy to screw it
- 28:02Speaker 5: up now, so it only makes a minor small changes.
- 28:05Speaker 5: Look a Marina is very very bond for them in
- 28:08Speaker 5: that area. And Maria's just it's an emotional racing animal
- 28:13Speaker 5: that will prove what's possible be the bike if it's
- 28:15Speaker 5: good enough and if you forget to crash and Zarko
- 28:17Speaker 5: does his Sarko think says a couple of times makes
- 28:20Speaker 5: his all chair and I'm very happy. But you can't
- 28:21Speaker 5: rely on him. So they need an alien. And so
- 28:24Speaker 5: they're walking around through the big Shack book for an
- 28:26Speaker 5: alien because the bikes already for an alien.
- 28:28Speaker 4: But isn't that interesting though, because you rewind twelve months,
- 28:31Speaker 4: they absolutely were not ready for an alien. There was
- 28:34Speaker 4: no point them having an alien. They didn't have a
- 28:36Speaker 4: machine for So what's change? I mean this it feels
- 28:38Speaker 4: like this has changed really quite quickly. I mean, I
- 28:40Speaker 4: know it's been a gradual burn over the last twelve months,
- 28:43Speaker 4: but it wasn't that long ago that they were You
- 28:45Speaker 4: remember the Japanese cup at the back of the pack.
- 28:48Speaker 4: We used to talk about all the time. They were
- 28:49Speaker 4: just hopeless towards the bag and the fact they haven't
- 28:52Speaker 4: had the alien And you said before, you've got the
- 28:55Speaker 4: the analytical mind of Luca Marini, who loves to explain
- 28:59Speaker 4: things in minute. And then you've got Juan Mier who
- 29:01Speaker 4: will ride a bike within in each of its and
- 29:03Speaker 4: probably over it to try and find out where the
- 29:05Speaker 4: limit is, like almost stumbled across. Like the perfect combination
- 29:09Speaker 4: of personalities to bring that bike forward.
- 29:11Speaker 5: Yeah, but they brought in these personalities and Romino Abushano
- 29:16Speaker 5: and Elizas Pargo and his school year. Yeah, because something
- 29:19Speaker 5: bigger has changed in Japan in my opinion, that's that's
- 29:22Speaker 5: the only way I can explain it on the HC.
- 29:25Speaker 5: Just like most of the Japanese company are super conservative,
- 29:28Speaker 5: so they hate They're like Packo, there's something in common.
- 29:31Speaker 5: They hate changes. So we did things in a certain way,
- 29:33Speaker 5: we keep doing them in a certain way. And they
- 29:36Speaker 5: completely lost the speed of development. And then know how,
- 29:39Speaker 5: in the years with Mark, it was only when Mark
- 29:44Speaker 5: not suffered, but when Mark said, please, how much money
- 29:47Speaker 5: you have to give you that I can go back
- 29:49Speaker 5: to write another motorbike for free, that shock went so
- 29:54Speaker 5: deep in home the HG that something really deep suddenly
- 29:58Speaker 5: started to change and they give some of the leadership
- 30:01Speaker 5: away to European techniques that are ahead of the game.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Reacted Quicker stopped a lot playing the safe thing because
- 30:09Speaker 5: now Home does blowing up engines left or right? Can
- 30:11Speaker 5: you believe that Homda blowing up engines? And don't mind
- 30:14Speaker 5: this is unbelievable, but it is, I mean in your
- 30:17Speaker 5: country too. On the start finished straight. Now that's the thing. Eh,
- 30:20Speaker 5: So they really changed. But for me that that could
- 30:24Speaker 5: be almost only because they saw Mark running away. That
- 30:27Speaker 5: was enough. That was like, okay, there's a lot of
- 30:29Speaker 5: singles we are behind. But if even Mark walks away,
- 30:31Speaker 5: we either stop, which they were probably very close to.
- 30:35Speaker 5: All we do is probably in Asa she is mighty.
- 30:37Speaker 5: When Asa she really wants, they can do everything. They
- 30:39Speaker 5: can go to the moon next week. It's unbelievable. And
- 30:42Speaker 5: now in Yama, I think something similar is happening. When
- 30:46Speaker 5: it comes down when really Fabio is gonna tell the
- 30:49Speaker 5: world next week, two three weeks, how guys, that's it?
- 30:53Speaker 5: Then probably something will change big enough because what they
- 30:56Speaker 5: have changed that Yama is not enough to give a
- 30:58Speaker 5: lot of leadership. They bought a lot of Europeans, they
- 31:01Speaker 5: bring a lot of people to Europe, but apparently somewhere
- 31:05Speaker 5: in Japan or in the whole chain. I think it's
- 31:08Speaker 5: in Japan. There is still a huge bottleneck which delays everybody.
- 31:11Speaker 5: I'm so disappointed in Yama has speed of development so
- 31:14Speaker 5: and that's not a lack of no just like it
- 31:16Speaker 5: never was a lack of nohow or possibilities in Asac.
- 31:19Speaker 5: That's the same with Yama. It's just like a culture
- 31:23Speaker 5: of problem, another technical problem. To change the culture is
- 31:27Speaker 5: harder than to change the crank at firing order.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, yeah, Peter, I wanted to ask you.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Last year we saw a clear difference between Soaker and
- 31:39Speaker 2: then the factory Hondas.
- 31:41Speaker 1: But now it seems like rolls are reverse.
- 31:43Speaker 2: When we're seeing Zaker struggling to feel comfortable on the
- 31:46Speaker 2: bike and we're seeing the other two excel.
- 31:49Speaker 3: What's going on there?
- 31:50Speaker 1: What's happening with that? Yes?
- 31:52Speaker 5: Ka was interesting, eh. And it's the only guy that
- 31:55Speaker 5: already has a contract for next year. Well that's another podcast.
- 31:59Speaker 5: But I don't know if he has any friends. But
- 32:02Speaker 5: if everybody is happy with the bike, he's not happy
- 32:04Speaker 5: with the bike. And if everybody hates it, he puts
- 32:06Speaker 5: it on the podium. So he's good in your team
- 32:09Speaker 5: because he has a different opinion and shows that in
- 32:12Speaker 5: a different way, there are also results possible. But yeah,
- 32:14Speaker 5: it's really really very he's never done enough when he
- 32:19Speaker 5: was on the factory, the cuttish in Brahmak. But just
- 32:21Speaker 5: when you say, oh, let's forget about the guy, he
- 32:23Speaker 5: wins it actually in your country, correct or he puts
- 32:26Speaker 5: it somewhere else on the pot. You know it's and
- 32:28Speaker 5: it's a very interesting guy. But he has something in
- 32:31Speaker 5: common with Peco. When you listen to him. He he's
- 32:38Speaker 5: not waiting or expecting a lot from the bike. He
- 32:42Speaker 5: wants the bike to not change a lot, and then
- 32:43Speaker 5: work on himself, on himself, on himself, because he knows
- 32:46Speaker 5: that if he gets in the groove and find his zone,
- 32:50Speaker 5: a lot, a lot, a lot is possible. So he's
- 32:53Speaker 5: very careful with his scrooge if not to change too much.
- 32:55Speaker 5: It's probably more in me. It's in me, it's in me.
- 32:57Speaker 5: But when it doesn't come from him, then they and
- 33:00Speaker 5: he expects them or hope that they push the right
- 33:02Speaker 5: button and do the right click, and then he tries again.
- 33:05Speaker 5: He's not a guy that you can give a new
- 33:07Speaker 5: arrow sat every thirty minutes and then go out and
- 33:09Speaker 5: see if it's better or not, because you just try
- 33:11Speaker 5: him completely. So he's very important because of all of
- 33:16Speaker 5: his experience and of his different approach to how to
- 33:18Speaker 5: make the lap time. It's probably not the best development, right,
- 33:22Speaker 5: I mean, riders don't develop the bike, but still or
- 33:25Speaker 5: rather feedback, especially on the level of Luco Marini, is important.
- 33:29Speaker 4: So you just said they're not the best development rider,
- 33:31Speaker 4: which is the perfect segue for my next question, Peter,
- 33:33Speaker 4: because you mentioned that they need an alien, and it
- 33:35Speaker 4: looks like they're about to get one. Are they getting
- 33:38Speaker 4: the right alien, Because if there's one thing we know
- 33:40Speaker 4: about Fabio Couaduro, well there's two things. He can extract
- 33:43Speaker 4: pole positions that you can analyze or he could just
- 33:46Speaker 4: laugh at because it's just so fun to watch someone
- 33:48Speaker 4: nearly crashing on every single quarter and getting a pole
- 33:50Speaker 4: position out of a bike. But Fabio's reputation is of
- 33:53Speaker 4: a guy who is, shall we say, not the greatest
- 33:56Speaker 4: developer of a motorcycle and probably not the most patient either.
- 33:59Speaker 4: So they need an alien. But if they got the
- 34:01Speaker 4: right one.
- 34:02Speaker 5: No, no, they should have had a costa. Yeah, of course,
- 34:05Speaker 5: he will fit the Bible Saw a lot better because
- 34:08Speaker 5: it's not a of Coursta. Will will have a big
- 34:12Speaker 5: challenge on his hands when he goes to Dugati because
- 34:14Speaker 5: to learn to write Dugatti fast is not easy. It's
- 34:17Speaker 5: not easy. You have to overrule all your racing instincts
- 34:21Speaker 5: that you learned from since the first time you went
- 34:23Speaker 5: into wheels. Everything is different from the Dugatti, so they should.
- 34:27Speaker 5: I think a Costa will be better fit for Honda,
- 34:30Speaker 5: but for for whatever reason, of course, had his mindset
- 34:32Speaker 5: completely under Dukatti, and I mean credits to him. He
- 34:37Speaker 5: probably will have zero salary there, but he chooses to
- 34:40Speaker 5: go there, so I mean we all think he goes there.
- 34:44Speaker 5: So yeah. But then on the other hand, a Costa,
- 34:48Speaker 5: we call him an alien for a couple of years,
- 34:50Speaker 5: but he has not won one motagiped race. He has
- 34:53Speaker 5: thrown away a couple of options that were really on
- 34:56Speaker 5: the table. So the guy has been up and down,
- 34:59Speaker 5: and I think mostly thanks to AKII, we didn't lost
- 35:03Speaker 5: it completely. The payroll course that now comes to the
- 35:06Speaker 5: press room, it's a thirty five year old warrior that
- 35:09Speaker 5: has seen everything in super calm. Instead of an eighty
- 35:12Speaker 5: year old kid that only wants to say fuck and
- 35:14Speaker 5: big balls and then goes out and either win or
- 35:16Speaker 5: put it in the gravel trap. What the change has
- 35:19Speaker 5: he made in half a year? Unbelievable, unbelievable, really really good.
- 35:24Speaker 5: So yeah, what you get with Fabia Quarradu is a
- 35:28Speaker 5: lot of emotions. Uh, but you also get a super
- 35:34Speaker 5: amount of talent because this was not the greatest five
- 35:37Speaker 5: year shorty show last week. And this is hard to see,
- 35:40Speaker 5: but I can tell you one thing for sure. If
- 35:42Speaker 5: someday the light goes out, he gives it all. If
- 35:45Speaker 5: he goes out for Q one and he knows he's
- 35:47Speaker 5: never going to go to Q two, he will give
- 35:49Speaker 5: it all. So in a way they have a good alien.
- 35:52Speaker 5: If the bike is anywhere near okay, he's like Joe
- 35:57Speaker 5: a mere point two, you know, a better mirror. Ways,
- 36:00Speaker 5: why is it clothes? We give everything and he has
- 36:02Speaker 5: a lot more to give the ye a lot more so, Yeah,
- 36:07Speaker 5: for development and for peace in that side of the
- 36:10Speaker 5: box and harmony. I'm not so sure about har you.
- 36:14Speaker 5: But he also can turn around quickly. He doesn't better grunch,
- 36:20Speaker 5: So yeah, it's going to be a handful to handle it.
- 36:24Speaker 5: All better preach. Now, that's a challenge. I can see
- 36:27Speaker 5: that's coming because everybody loves our better preach except the journalist.
- 36:34Speaker 5: But have a huge respective because he stands there for
- 36:37Speaker 5: the right. You know, see what happens in Honda when
- 36:39Speaker 5: when he's there A yeah.
- 36:41Speaker 4: So that's a that's a reality TV series. We need
- 36:44Speaker 4: to see the reality TV series. Those are the lives
- 36:48Speaker 4: of Fabio and Alberto for sure.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Hey guys, Honda Social Media and marketing team definitely get
- 36:54Speaker 2: onto that.
- 36:56Speaker 1: We'll take some commissioner for the idea.
- 36:59Speaker 3: He'll that you mentioned there.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Before we go into everything else, I want to talk
- 37:05Speaker 2: about KTM because once again we're seeing this clear difference
- 37:08Speaker 2: that Matt you said before. We're seeing the Pedro show
- 37:10Speaker 2: and then we're seeing the rest of them. But one
- 37:13Speaker 2: thing that I heard and I wanted some clarification on
- 37:16Speaker 2: this is that it seems like the Katms.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Are starting to understand this rich shatter.
- 37:20Speaker 2: They're starting to like tire life isn't so much of
- 37:23Speaker 2: a worry for them this year in Pedro also seems
- 37:26Speaker 2: like he's way more confident coming into this season than last. Peter,
- 37:30Speaker 2: What's to go with this? This chatter in this retire
- 37:33Speaker 2: How have they managed that?
- 37:35Speaker 5: Yeah, two years, which is more than one year too much.
- 37:38Speaker 5: They struggled a lot with the chatter from the super
- 37:40Speaker 5: crippy Ray Michelin writers in Sapang. There's a couple of
- 37:45Speaker 5: condresses Upang where you know if it's still there, it
- 37:48Speaker 5: will be here, and it was not there, so they
- 37:51Speaker 5: were being very carefully optimistic. More and more there were
- 37:55Speaker 5: a lot of new parts, seriously different new pats, a
- 37:57Speaker 5: lot more than I expected from and manufactured at one
- 37:59Speaker 5: year ago. We've thought properly doesn't even exist anymore. So
- 38:05Speaker 5: Sapan was really good here. I'm yeah, I'm not impressed.
- 38:11Speaker 5: I see that they still have more problems than I
- 38:13Speaker 5: was hoping them to see. The thing is in Buddy
- 38:16Speaker 5: Ram we have a very special rear tire that we
- 38:18Speaker 5: only get two three times a year. I think we
- 38:19Speaker 5: get in the red butt ring. We get it in
- 38:21Speaker 5: Budi Ram. There's probably one other track which is a
- 38:23Speaker 5: super real one that's a super way tired. As soon
- 38:26Speaker 5: as the bike gets more or less upright, it has
- 38:29Speaker 5: just no crip because it has super extra hard carcass
- 38:32Speaker 5: in the middle because of all the temperatures and all
- 38:34Speaker 5: the slipping and all the manufacturers learned to deal with it.
- 38:37Speaker 5: KTM never and apparently also not now. So what I'm
- 38:42Speaker 5: saying is that Sapang was for me more than real KTM.
- 38:45Speaker 5: But they will have they will have to raise for
- 38:48Speaker 5: the punch this weekend, and it's going to be really
- 38:49Speaker 5: really hard for them. But then we go to a
- 38:51Speaker 5: new track, to a normal track with probably normal tires,
- 38:55Speaker 5: and then we will see the sapunk KTM back. I
- 38:57Speaker 5: think I'm pretty sure Katie made a step that's not
- 39:02Speaker 5: good enough to bring them as a manufacturer up the
- 39:06Speaker 5: level of Honda. But thanks to our Costa, they will
- 39:09Speaker 5: still be Homda regularly because they have a Costa.
- 39:13Speaker 4: Ronita. We are thirty eightish minutes into this podcast, and
- 39:17Speaker 4: other than a quick drive by on Yamaha, we haven't
- 39:21Speaker 4: really talked about them yet, and I do have my
- 39:24Speaker 4: concerns that Yamaha might be about thirty eight seconds off
- 39:26Speaker 4: the win at some of these tracks with the way
- 39:28Speaker 4: things are going. Peter, you mentioned before that the rate
- 39:31Speaker 4: of progress is the disappointing aspect of what Yamaha is doing.
- 39:34Speaker 4: That there is progress, but it's just super super super slow.
- 39:39Speaker 4: What positives, if any can we take out of the
- 39:41Speaker 4: preseason from Yamaha, Because the good news for Australian fans
- 39:45Speaker 4: Jack Miller was the fastest Yamaha and all the tests
- 39:47Speaker 4: that all the Burro and the bad news was that
- 39:49Speaker 4: he was like fourteenth or something and the rest of
- 39:52Speaker 4: them were absolutely nowhere and the top rack situation quite
- 39:56Speaker 4: I'm not super surprised because as accomplished as he is
- 39:59Speaker 4: three Superbike World Champion, he's still a twenty nine year
- 40:02Speaker 4: old by the GP rookie who's never written.
- 40:03Speaker 5: On these tires before.
- 40:05Speaker 4: It's not a massive surprise that he's struggling, but maybe
- 40:07Speaker 4: not to this extent. But there is a lot to
- 40:09Speaker 4: unpack at Yamaha, and it feels from where we see
- 40:12Speaker 4: it that not a lot of it is great right now?
- 40:15Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 40:15Speaker 5: What to add? Jack Mail? Jack's the highlight of Yama.
- 40:19Speaker 5: He's carrying the whole manufacturer on his shoulder because he's
- 40:22Speaker 5: always upbeat, always positive. Every time he goes out he
- 40:26Speaker 5: has a new bike, another setting a high low shot.
- 40:28Speaker 5: He's quite clever as well himself come up with ideas,
- 40:32Speaker 5: so he's doing all the donkey work and always fast
- 40:35Speaker 5: enough to feel the difference. Not so fast that you
- 40:36Speaker 5: keep crashing or don't know how you did it, But
- 40:41Speaker 5: it doesn't help them a lot at the moment since
- 40:43Speaker 5: they are just way too slow by bringing up real
- 40:46Speaker 5: important new patch. It's just the the base of development
- 40:52Speaker 5: is just super super slow, I mean worryingly slow. So yeah,
- 40:58Speaker 5: I feel sorry. I'm not sorry for because in a
- 41:00Speaker 5: way he feel sorry for Jack because I want him
- 41:02Speaker 5: to win everywhere because we all have a better time.
- 41:05Speaker 5: But I'm so happy to see Jack making the best
- 41:07Speaker 5: out of it and seemed genuinely like satisfied with himself
- 41:11Speaker 5: and his work and what he and what he brings
- 41:12Speaker 5: to the whole project. But yeah, and a fabious fabio. No,
- 41:19Speaker 5: I'm worried for Yamaha, and I feel very very sad
- 41:22Speaker 5: for top Rack, but yeah, because I'm shocked by the
- 41:25Speaker 5: lack of speed from top Rack and I didn't expect
- 41:30Speaker 5: him to be anywhere this far off the pace as
- 41:33Speaker 5: he is, and I put it mostly down on the
- 41:36Speaker 5: yamahas where the bike is at the moment, but I'm
- 41:38Speaker 5: also shocked at what Yamaha. I have to be careful
- 41:45Speaker 5: because I might say things that I'm just wrong, but
- 41:47Speaker 5: my in my opinion, let me say really careful like
- 41:50Speaker 5: this because I was never a multigip engineerer. I'm just
- 41:53Speaker 5: a guy walks around the pit boxes, tries, you know,
- 41:56Speaker 5: tries to understand a little bit of what happens. I
- 42:00Speaker 5: I'm worried that how far Yamaha went with top rack
- 42:04Speaker 5: to give him what he wants. If a rookie ask
- 42:07Speaker 5: for stuff, you got to be very careful because he
- 42:09Speaker 5: is a rookie and he doesn't know what he looks for,
- 42:12Speaker 5: so he you Loosually, what rookies does is look for
- 42:15Speaker 5: the same feeling they had on the last bike, whether
- 42:17Speaker 5: it was a super spot bike, about a three bike
- 42:19Speaker 5: or another manufacturer, because that's what they know, and then
- 42:23Speaker 5: they expect you to make it that it automatically will
- 42:26Speaker 5: become better from their own. So you work a little
- 42:28Speaker 5: bit with I mean, seating positions is hugely important to
- 42:31Speaker 5: motor tip. It's really way you put your rider. The
- 42:34Speaker 5: whole thing is designed to work in a certain way.
- 42:36Speaker 5: If you sit two meters more to the front or
- 42:38Speaker 5: the left, obviously it's not gonna work. But it's not
- 42:40Speaker 5: two meters. Even five centimeters can be completely wrong if
- 42:44Speaker 5: you put the riders wrong. In a couple of centimeters
- 42:46Speaker 5: now top prack is more than a couple of centimeters wrong.
- 42:49Speaker 5: He's on his I mean, it's really unbelievable how wrong
- 42:54Speaker 5: he sits on the motorbike. Because he asked for it,
- 42:57Speaker 5: they give it to him. But that's a dead ending
- 43:00Speaker 5: road that will probably bring you two tens now, but
- 43:03Speaker 5: avoid it. You're never going to make the whole seconds
- 43:05Speaker 5: you're looking at. He sits so low in the rear
- 43:09Speaker 5: that he doesn't have the seat arrow. And he knows
- 43:12Speaker 5: because he goes every now and then he goes out
- 43:14Speaker 5: with seat arrow and he told us, he said, with
- 43:16Speaker 5: seat everything's better. I stop better. Everything is more stable,
- 43:19Speaker 5: even the long corners, everything's better. But the way, the
- 43:24Speaker 5: hardest thing is not the rear, the front, the front,
- 43:26Speaker 5: but what they do with the front for him. You
- 43:28Speaker 5: know the right side of the motorbike. You can see
- 43:30Speaker 5: how many centimeters or millimeters that the front fork comes
- 43:33Speaker 5: sticks out above the triple clamp. Assuming front forks are
- 43:36Speaker 5: the same Yamas front frogs have the same length. This
- 43:38Speaker 5: is hundred percent shore. Yeah, fabilize them twenty to twenty
- 43:42Speaker 5: five millimeters offset check fifteen millimeters toper zero. That's already
- 43:48Speaker 5: so that the guy has like a touring biker shopper.
- 43:50Speaker 5: To make things worse, they give him a handle bush.
- 43:52Speaker 5: They made the handlebus for him that goes at least
- 43:55Speaker 5: fifty millimeters up as well. This is a handle bus
- 43:57Speaker 5: you normally never see in racing. They stick out, then
- 43:59Speaker 5: they go up and to go more out. So top
- 44:01Speaker 5: rauxice is completely wrong on the bike means center of gravity,
- 44:05Speaker 5: air resicians. Everything is all over the place, and he
- 44:09Speaker 5: wants it because his reasoning is if I'm sitting comfortably,
- 44:13Speaker 5: I can find some confidence and then maybe later I
- 44:16Speaker 5: can try to learn to sit on a motor feedback
- 44:18Speaker 5: as it is designed to be. Not that for me
- 44:20Speaker 5: is there is the and I from his point of view,
- 44:22Speaker 5: it's logic. But the crew chief and the team should say,
- 44:25Speaker 5: I'm not that's that's that's that's not gonna work. That's
- 44:29Speaker 5: not what we're what you want to do here on
- 44:31Speaker 5: these bikes. Then they don't work. So they did it.
- 44:34Speaker 5: I'm surprised by that, and I'm not. Don't get me wrong.
- 44:38Speaker 5: I'm not saying topraking is slow because Yama puts him
- 44:40Speaker 5: wrong on the motorbike allows him to sit wrong on
- 44:42Speaker 5: the motorbike. There's a combination of reasoning. But this is
- 44:45Speaker 5: the worrying part that I don't understand that they go
- 44:48Speaker 5: that far off the normal sitting position because the rider
- 44:52Speaker 5: wants that this is He's not the tallest in the pattern.
- 44:56Speaker 5: Marini is probably even longer. But Marini grew up on
- 44:59Speaker 5: motor tree moto too, so he knows how to shit
- 45:01Speaker 5: on the motorjip Bick. Top rack has a lot of time.
- 45:05Speaker 5: He has, oh yeah, or at least half a year
- 45:07Speaker 5: to have zero points zero pressure and learn to ride back.
- 45:12Speaker 5: And the first thing he does is sit on it
- 45:14Speaker 5: like on a superbike. Not so sure if that's the correcter,
- 45:17Speaker 5: but the guy, let's not forget. He's amazingly telling you
- 45:20Speaker 5: you're right. Twenty nine. But he started late. He started
- 45:24Speaker 5: late in getting serious, and you've seen that with Casey riders.
- 45:28Speaker 5: It's not only an obviously it's an age thing, but
- 45:31Speaker 5: it's also an amount of years thing. At some point
- 45:34Speaker 5: you get tired. Casey got very early tired in his
- 45:37Speaker 5: life because he started also very very early. Top Prauck
- 45:40Speaker 5: started really late, especially late being serious. Once he started
- 45:45Speaker 5: to be serious, he was fast. Yeah, hard to say.
- 45:50Speaker 5: He comes into really the worst possible moment inside Yamah.
- 45:53Speaker 5: I'm still glad he has a two year contract because
- 45:56Speaker 5: I expect a lot more from him next year, and
- 45:59Speaker 5: I hope Yama and he and he. What is also
- 46:02Speaker 5: gonna probably help him a lot is writing with others.
- 46:06Speaker 5: All the testing days he's done is on the own.
- 46:09Speaker 5: The last thing you want in is it's just showing
- 46:11Speaker 5: somebody else what you're doing. Although top Rack is given
- 46:15Speaker 5: a real by people, sometimes especially by Jack here again
- 46:18Speaker 5: because Jack and they're obviously they're best friends, so Jack
- 46:21Speaker 5: really helps him, shows him the line shows what's possible.
- 46:26Speaker 5: But in a race, when you're battling forty minutes with
- 46:28Speaker 5: people of your lap time, then you quickly see, ah,
- 46:30Speaker 5: here I'm nearly running into the backfield. Fuck, how do
- 46:33Speaker 5: you get away there? And then you start to copy it,
- 46:35Speaker 5: copy it. It's always it's always the racing that makes
- 46:38Speaker 5: you really quickly improve and realize where it's possible. So
- 46:42Speaker 5: it's start to go racing with top Rag. It's time
- 46:44Speaker 5: to start racing.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I just realized it. I don't know why this
- 46:48Speaker 1: never came to me. The thoughts is, okay, out of
- 46:50Speaker 1: the two rookies doogres race it all.
- 46:52Speaker 2: These tracks bar Brazil, as everybody else has top Rack
- 46:56Speaker 2: hasn't raised it any of the away races because super
- 46:59Speaker 2: Bow only ever did Philip.
- 47:01Speaker 3: Island and then the rest of Europe. So he's he's
- 47:04Speaker 3: really like three steps back behind.
- 47:06Speaker 5: Yeah wow, yeah, exactly wow. And diego on the one
- 47:11Speaker 5: lap one time a day, he makes a good step
- 47:14Speaker 5: to top right, but also not an amazing other step,
- 47:16Speaker 5: and he is the guy that nobody starts to give up.
- 47:18Speaker 5: How bet, it was very very clear in how they
- 47:21Speaker 5: Yogo comes in in the time in multigip when it's
- 47:24Speaker 5: still really difficult to ride these bikes that I just
- 47:26Speaker 5: have to do a lot of things with right high
- 47:28Speaker 5: devices and ship that's all gone and disappear next next year,
- 47:30Speaker 5: Amoltip will be relatively easier. So you can bring about
- 47:34Speaker 5: to two guy and expect him to pick up the
- 47:37Speaker 5: pace a lot quicker than we can expect from Diogo
- 47:39Speaker 5: at the moment in this cuss So they give him
- 47:41Speaker 5: all the time, but all Theogo's normal laps are not
- 47:44Speaker 5: a lot better than top rucks, and the Yogo we
- 47:46Speaker 5: don't doubt him. We start to dubt top right, but
- 47:48Speaker 5: we don't doubt Yogo because he was so good in
- 47:51Speaker 5: Multi two last year. He grews up on these bikes. Yeah,
- 47:55Speaker 5: that's another way to look at the situation. When you
- 47:57Speaker 5: look at Yogo Morrera, it's not it's not that far
- 48:00Speaker 5: off top Rack. Probably on there was one best lap.
- 48:04Speaker 5: It's a big difference, but all the normal laps are closer,
- 48:07Speaker 5: so it's not so easier the moment to jump on
- 48:08Speaker 5: a motor to be back.
- 48:09Speaker 4: It's not, but we look at it differently because of
- 48:12Speaker 4: the year on their birth certificates. Right, that's part of
- 48:15Speaker 4: the equation that we're making is that Morera is what
- 48:17Speaker 4: eight or nine years younger than than top Rack, So
- 48:20Speaker 4: we probably give him a little bit of grace because
- 48:22Speaker 4: of just the age, and you.
- 48:24Speaker 5: Expect him to learn quick because the older the younger
- 48:26Speaker 5: you are the quicker, and the quicker you pick up
- 48:29Speaker 5: new stuff.
- 48:29Speaker 4: Adapt Yeah.
- 48:30Speaker 5: I probably just said that when I explained the top
- 48:32Speaker 5: Rack doesn't want to change his writing procision.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Mean, that's he's the nail on my head, right crazy.
- 48:42Speaker 5: Anyway, you have to love top It would be so
- 48:44Speaker 5: good for all of us if he is on the
- 48:46Speaker 5: podiumen in the top five. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, now
- 48:50Speaker 5: to explain you were with the debriefs and I interviewed
- 48:55Speaker 5: him a couple of times in the Superbike carreer. I mean,
- 48:57Speaker 5: such an interesting guy, So from what did you for.
- 49:01Speaker 2: Those listening and Matt in Spain because it was the
- 49:04Speaker 2: first time that he's at this official test, he'd come
- 49:06Speaker 2: up to the media center and he was introducing himself
- 49:09Speaker 2: to everybody.
- 49:10Speaker 3: It was like, graters don't do that.
- 49:14Speaker 1: So he's definitely bringing this whole fresh air.
- 49:17Speaker 2: And we've got an interview coming out on Fox Sports
- 49:19Speaker 2: as well with him where he was talking about his
- 49:22Speaker 2: excitement and just.
- 49:24Speaker 1: The difference and even he goes media for me is
- 49:26Speaker 1: so strange.
- 49:27Speaker 2: So yeah, he is a breath of fresh air and
- 49:29Speaker 2: I'm excited to see cannot wait. But we've got Thailand,
- 49:33Speaker 2: We've got Round one happening this weekend for US. Ossie's
- 49:37Speaker 2: down here in the Southern Hemisphere, a race that's actually
- 49:39Speaker 2: in our time zone.
- 49:40Speaker 1: So we are just so excited about that.
- 49:43Speaker 2: But we're going to have to ask the hard hitting
- 49:45Speaker 2: questions right now, Matt Peter, who's gonna win on Sunday?
- 49:51Speaker 1: And please don't say and Mark Marquez give me something else.
- 49:55Speaker 4: I'm not going to say that, but I'll be kind
- 49:57Speaker 4: to Peter as their guest and I'll let him go first.
- 50:02Speaker 5: It's probably also because I want it. It's it's Marco Bazeki,
- 50:06Speaker 5: but my brain says it will be Mark. But I
- 50:10Speaker 5: have to repeat what I said a couple of times.
- 50:12Speaker 5: Mark's filmerable film. Not a lot has to go wrong,
- 50:16Speaker 5: and he's not. He's far from winning this race and
- 50:19Speaker 5: everything that's certainly really really interesting. So yeah, I don't
- 50:24Speaker 5: expect Mark to to win easily. It will be him
- 50:30Speaker 5: or Marco.
- 50:32Speaker 4: I'm going to sit on something resembling of fence here,
- 50:35Speaker 4: but I'm going to say the top six is going
- 50:36Speaker 4: to have three apriliers and three decaddies.
- 50:38Speaker 5: Oh yeah, and they will be within once a half
- 50:41Speaker 5: a second. Already. You know the letter is going to
- 50:42Speaker 5: be crazy. They're already yeah. Are interesting for two days
- 50:46Speaker 5: and then have the race weekend. Then it will be
- 50:48Speaker 5: zero point two five for the top ten, I tell you,
- 50:50Speaker 5: which is silly.
- 50:52Speaker 1: H oh.
- 50:55Speaker 2: I think I heard say that last year's top six
- 51:00Speaker 2: at the end of the Test was the top six
- 51:04Speaker 2: at the end of the championship.
- 51:06Speaker 3: Imagically have a replay.
- 51:08Speaker 5: Of that's interesting.
- 51:11Speaker 4: Championship runner up.
- 51:14Speaker 5: It's hilarious well, speaking of deeply riders and the bread
- 51:17Speaker 5: of press air like top rack. I mean, it's almost
- 51:20Speaker 5: another podcast subject to how we speak by the right
- 51:23Speaker 5: because a goody. It's also a case's debrief is something special.
- 51:30Speaker 5: I mean they're all special, but Ice is very very special.
- 51:34Speaker 5: He is so quiet and then whatever you ask him,
- 51:40Speaker 5: he takes five minutes and looks around for the answer,
- 51:43Speaker 5: no matter how simple it is, just really no matter
- 51:45Speaker 5: how simple. It's like, oh, this is a really difficult question,
- 51:49Speaker 5: and he's saying this is not that bad. He's just
- 51:52Speaker 5: very very old school Japanese. He's very very careful how
- 51:55Speaker 5: to say things. It doesn't show any emotion. He's a
- 51:58Speaker 5: roboty you have no feelings, you has very very interesting
- 52:03Speaker 5: is debriets as well. Sometimes he says accidentally something super
- 52:07Speaker 5: interesting accidently. Most of the time it's to stand that stuff.
- 52:12Speaker 5: But we'll just slip up the tongue. It can be interesting.
- 52:15Speaker 4: That is a podcast we need to do write a
- 52:17Speaker 4: debrief body language and what they say verbally, that's yeah,
- 52:22Speaker 4: that's we need to explore that one. Rendre because you know,
- 52:24Speaker 4: it's like from being on the inside you've got some
- 52:26Speaker 4: people who are telling you a million things and saying nothing.
- 52:28Speaker 4: You've got other people who are saying nothing but actually
- 52:30Speaker 4: telling you something decent, and then you've got other people
- 52:33Speaker 4: who are thoroughly pleasant to you and give you lots
- 52:35Speaker 4: of words in your recording. And then you listen back
- 52:38Speaker 4: to it and go, I didn't say anything approach. It's
- 52:43Speaker 4: good at the time, though it's not what I'm looking for. Yeah, yeah,
- 52:45Speaker 4: exactly exactly.
- 52:47Speaker 2: I think that the liberty media takeover that is eventually
- 52:50Speaker 2: going to happen, and that's what it's going to be.
- 52:52Speaker 1: If they do a Drive to Survive.
- 52:54Speaker 2: I feel like it's going to be the best way
- 52:56Speaker 2: for people to really get to know what we see
- 52:59Speaker 2: in the media, say through what you see in the
- 53:01Speaker 2: paddic of these writers and their personalities, because the two
- 53:04Speaker 2: minutes you see of them doing a social media sketch
- 53:07Speaker 2: or whatever on monogp dot com is not it's not
- 53:10Speaker 2: really who they are. So I'd love to see that
- 53:13Speaker 2: as an outcome eventually, but I think we should wrap
- 53:16Speaker 2: that up here.
- 53:17Speaker 1: Peter, thank you so much for joining us and explaining
- 53:20Speaker 1: everything that.
- 53:21Speaker 3: We've seen over the last few weeks.
- 53:23Speaker 2: In Moto GP and hopefully I'll be seeing you at
- 53:26Speaker 2: Asen in a few months time.
- 53:28Speaker 5: Wow, okay, you're more than welcome here. But yeah, it's
- 53:31Speaker 5: a pleasure to be to be your podcast. I love it.
- 53:33Speaker 5: It's easy. We have an easy chemistry, so it's yeah,
- 53:36Speaker 5: I forget that the microphone is on. It's just like
- 53:38Speaker 5: three friends talking about notedge what happened for this so
- 53:41Speaker 5: the last couple of days and you call it the podcast.
- 53:43Speaker 5: But I love being here.
- 53:44Speaker 3: Thanks for asking me no anytime. I love it the
- 53:47Speaker 3: same for me and Matt.
