- 0:04Speaker 1: And I just felt like it had been a long week.
- 0:06Speaker 2: And you know, with these home night games, right, we
- 0:12Speaker 2: have a let's say Saturday, we were excuse me, Sunday,
- 0:17Speaker 2: and then we are done with them, and they go
- 0:19Speaker 2: to the hotel and then you know, Monday morning meetings
- 0:22Speaker 2: and then they leave and they go home and they
- 0:23Speaker 2: get some rest or whatever it is that they're going
- 0:25Speaker 2: to do to prepare themselves for the game. And I
- 0:29Speaker 2: just felt like I wanted to remind them that it
- 0:33Speaker 2: was important to have an attacking mindset and aggressive mindset
- 0:37Speaker 2: to continue to find the joy throughout our team with
- 0:39Speaker 2: each other, playing, watching each other, feeding off each other,
- 0:44Speaker 2: the all three units, and just I think that's they
- 0:49Speaker 2: appreciate it.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I think that they.
- 0:52Speaker 2: You know, I've said this after the game, the strength
- 0:55Speaker 2: of our wide receiver unit is in the unit. And
- 0:58Speaker 2: I know that that's hard for a position, especially that position.
- 1:03Speaker 2: But everybody's catching passes, everybody's catching touchdowns, they're trying to
- 1:07Speaker 2: block when they don't have the ball, and I understand
- 1:10Speaker 2: and I think that that and I appreciate that, and
- 1:12Speaker 2: so I remind him of that. And it can't it's
- 1:15Speaker 2: not going to be just one guy getting fifteen or
- 1:17Speaker 2: sixteen targets every week.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I just don't think that that's what this is.
- 1:21Speaker 2: And I appreciate their unselfishness, and I think that that
- 1:24Speaker 2: is just a small microcosm of what I want our
- 1:29Speaker 2: football team to look like and feel and be excited
- 1:32Speaker 2: when when Kyle catches a touchdown or when kay Sean
- 1:35Speaker 2: catches a touchdown, or whoever it may be that gets
- 1:38Speaker 2: a big third down conversion for us. So that's all
- 1:42Speaker 2: we're trying to do. In Christian Ellis, I think embodies ad.
- 1:44Speaker 2: He's a great teammate. His teammates care deeply about him.
- 1:48Speaker 2: He cares about this football team. He's got great relationships
- 1:51Speaker 2: throughout the building with his coaches and obviously with his teammates,
- 1:55Speaker 2: and that's another special group, you know. The linebacker and Christian.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Christian got us going. And again, there's nothing illegal about
- 2:04Speaker 2: anything that he did. There's nothing dirty there. It's it's
- 2:07Speaker 2: him playing football and whether it's covering kicks, and he
- 2:11Speaker 2: takes a lot of pride in that unit and also
- 2:13Speaker 2: on defense.
- 2:14Speaker 1: After getting us to go back.
- 2:15Speaker 3: And watch the film, how do you think it's the
- 2:17Speaker 3: less side of the offensive line.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I thought that they were excited about playing. And I
- 2:21Speaker 2: think that that is probably the thing that pleases me
- 2:25Speaker 2: the most is that they wanted it. Ned Verdarian wanted
- 2:29Speaker 2: to go out there and play and compete and block,
- 2:32Speaker 2: and Ben you know, fought and battled and I know
- 2:36Speaker 2: he had a holding call, which you know, I think
- 2:38Speaker 2: was was close.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I mean, they called it.
- 2:40Speaker 2: You know, I got to stay inside out, but I don't.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I mean, I've seen worse. There was worse yesterday, but
- 2:46Speaker 2: that's what they called it. But but they were excited
- 2:50Speaker 2: about playing, and then they were prepared and they were
- 2:52Speaker 2: ready to go. So you know, that's kind of what
- 2:56Speaker 2: you have to do with this time of the year
- 2:57Speaker 2: or anytime in the National Football League is is be
- 3:00Speaker 2: ready to go. No different than they or Munford coming
- 3:03Speaker 2: in there from Cleveland and helping us and being being
- 3:06Speaker 2: ready and going out there and helping us, and his
- 3:09Speaker 2: opportunities and we know what happens there. You probably get
- 3:12Speaker 2: more opportunities from his speed.
- 3:15Speaker 4: What allows Marcus to just see things a way to see.
- 3:19Speaker 2: That, well, I think that that's a great thing for him.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I think that's a great question for him. What do
- 3:23Speaker 2: you see? And I think the easiest way for me
- 3:28Speaker 2: is whether he's fitting to run on defense as a
- 3:31Speaker 2: nickel or he's blitzing. As I said, just I guess,
- 3:34Speaker 2: try to pretend like you have the football in your
- 3:35Speaker 2: hand and you got to weave through traffic and you
- 3:37Speaker 2: got to make these guys miss. And I mean, he
- 3:39Speaker 2: thinks he's six four, two hundred and fifty pounds, and
- 3:42Speaker 2: so I always tell him to run like you don't
- 3:44Speaker 2: have to hit these guards and you don't have to
- 3:46Speaker 2: run into him on a run like you can slip
- 3:48Speaker 2: and duck and dodge and do whatever. So I think
- 3:52Speaker 2: it's a mentality, it's a mindset to be able to
- 3:54Speaker 2: do that, to run through the smoke, you know, days
- 3:58Speaker 2: of thunderstyle. And I think he got great effort from
- 4:01Speaker 2: the guys blocking for him. We took care of the gunners.
- 4:04Speaker 2: You know, Miles got to the second level. Tay did
- 4:07Speaker 2: a great job setting up in a great in the
- 4:08Speaker 2: location that that they talk about, and you know, got
- 4:12Speaker 2: it started. And then you know he did the rest,
- 4:15Speaker 2: Like did you.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Know just from watching Marcus's tape that he might be
- 4:18Speaker 3: a fit for what if you wanted to build here?
- 4:20Speaker 1: How soon did you know it?
- 4:21Speaker 2: We didn't take long in the off season just from
- 4:23Speaker 2: the personality, just from the the person the way that
- 4:27Speaker 2: he practiced the embodied I would say, the identity, and
- 4:31Speaker 2: they just knew, you know, he was an elite punt
- 4:35Speaker 2: returner and so you know, we have to continue to
- 4:39Speaker 2: make that a weapon and and force teams to to
- 4:42Speaker 2: punt and and being in fourth and long to where
- 4:46Speaker 2: you know, we have those opportunities to to double you know,
- 4:49Speaker 2: the gunners and things like that.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It's you know, fourth and three, it's hard to double
- 4:53Speaker 1: the gunners. And you want to be sound on everything.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Like when I did to.
- 4:57Speaker 5: See Julie uh break down the huddle of team but
- 5:00Speaker 5: also was a game.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Captain too, he was yep, yep.
- 5:05Speaker 6: Uh.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Again, these these guys have built a bond that I
- 5:10Speaker 2: want to try to just help nurture and help grow
- 5:17Speaker 2: throughout the team. And and Jilani is somebody like that.
- 5:20Speaker 2: You see everybody reaching out and karen for each other,
- 5:25Speaker 2: not just him, but uh, you know, it was great
- 5:28Speaker 2: to see him out there play defense, help us on
- 5:30Speaker 2: special teams and you know, made some plays and contributed
- 5:34Speaker 2: to us winning.
- 5:35Speaker 7: Like you said that, this team has really earned this
- 5:37Speaker 7: bye week as late as it is.
- 5:39Speaker 8: What would you want your message, if you can share
- 5:42Speaker 8: with us, to the team as they go into the BI.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Week, to be well, we're not done, We're not satisfied.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I think champions are never satisfied. I think you can
- 5:51Speaker 2: appreciate where you are, but at the same time never
- 5:54Speaker 2: be satisfied or complacent. And the fine line between rest
- 5:59Speaker 2: and recovery and you know, just being sedentary. So there's
- 6:05Speaker 2: there's a fine line of what we have to do
- 6:07Speaker 2: to be able to come back here. Understand that just
- 6:10Speaker 2: because you have a buye, that doesn't mean you're guaranteed
- 6:12Speaker 2: some victory the next week. In this league, you know,
- 6:15Speaker 2: teams are sixteen and twelve coming off of bye this year,
- 6:18Speaker 2: so obviously the buye doesn't guarantee anything other than we
- 6:24Speaker 2: should get some guys back that we didn't have last night,
- 6:27Speaker 2: and we'll see where that goes throughout the week. You know,
- 6:30Speaker 2: give them some time to reconnect with people that they
- 6:32Speaker 2: care about and then also be ready to focus on
- 6:37Speaker 2: football and us finishing this thing.
- 6:39Speaker 4: I explained, didn't The heaviest.
- 6:41Speaker 2: DELI last year was that just a conscious decision You're
- 6:44Speaker 2: to ye in a game that did a.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Little bit more in your frenship.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:48Speaker 2: I mean I think that just playing everybody and you
- 6:51Speaker 2: know where we are in the season, and Harold was
- 6:54Speaker 2: in that category as well, so you know, we got
- 6:57Speaker 2: a lot of trust in everybody that that's here and
- 7:01Speaker 2: be ready to go and just try to get everybody
- 7:04Speaker 2: ready for this next week.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Here says something last night about momentum reset. Momentum resets
- 7:10Speaker 4: every game and after the football.
- 7:12Speaker 9: Game, given that, like you get in went ten Street.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Puts the check.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, yeah, people went through moving forward.
- 7:21Speaker 10: Even though you guys are going into the.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Buy well, I think you focused, you know me staying consistent.
- 7:26Speaker 2: It has been something that we've tried to do with
- 7:28Speaker 2: the message and you know, try to enhance the things
- 7:31Speaker 2: that we do well and improve the things that were
- 7:34Speaker 2: maybe just okay at and then still finding ways to eliminate,
- 7:38Speaker 2: eliminate the things that get you beat and then we'll
- 7:40Speaker 2: get back in on Monday and start that momentum for
- 7:43Speaker 2: the week. I think confidence is something that potentially can carry.
- 7:48Speaker 2: I think you build momentum through the week and the
- 7:50Speaker 2: way that you practice and the way that you correct
- 7:53Speaker 2: things and see things come together.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And you know, we'll we'll do it all again on Monday, like.
- 8:00Speaker 3: You mentioned a couple of times in zero, continuing to
- 8:03Speaker 3: find joy, protecting your joy during the course of the season.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Obviously that's important, but I'm curious if there's anything top
- 8:09Speaker 3: of mind you're trying to guard against when you share
- 8:11Speaker 3: that message with the team.
- 8:14Speaker 2: M I don't just appreciate what we do, where we
- 8:19Speaker 2: do it, and who who we do it with. I
- 8:21Speaker 2: think is important. Winning helps, but let's be honest, like
- 8:27Speaker 2: this is the National Football League. You're you're gonna have
- 8:31Speaker 2: to go through some tough times and you're gonna lose
- 8:34Speaker 2: games whenever. That is that, you know, I mean, that's
- 8:37Speaker 2: not our goal. But the goal is to just embrace
- 8:40Speaker 2: and enjoy coming to work. Provide an environment for these
- 8:43Speaker 2: guys to have confidence in what they do and learn
- 8:46Speaker 2: and figure out the game plan and how they can
- 8:49Speaker 2: help us win, put them in spots to do it,
- 8:51Speaker 2: and then try to, you know, glorify those efforts in
- 8:55Speaker 2: front of the team and in front of our fans
- 8:56Speaker 2: and everything else.
- 8:57Speaker 3: I know you couldn't resist at Monday Night football into December,
- 9:00Speaker 3: but November, what does that mean to you?
- 9:02Speaker 4: And that might cause my cleats to be.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Able to do that well.
- 9:05Speaker 2: First of all, I appreciate what our players do outside this.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Football team and in the community.
- 9:11Speaker 2: It's important that they take their platform and their gifts
- 9:16Speaker 2: that they've been blessed with and share that.
- 9:19Speaker 1: With other people.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I do know that that's something that's important to a
- 9:23Speaker 2: lot of guys on this team. So for them to
- 9:26Speaker 2: be able to do that, I think is a great
- 9:28Speaker 2: thing on Monday Night, to bring awareness to the things
- 9:30Speaker 2: that are important to them. I was able to share
- 9:33Speaker 2: in that and bring awareness to men's health and.
- 9:38Speaker 1: You know, not a spring chicken anymore. So we all
- 9:41Speaker 1: have to focus on.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Being around for our families and providing for them and making,
- 9:46Speaker 2: you know, great decisions to take care of our bodies,
- 9:49Speaker 2: take care of our health. And I appreciate to letting
- 9:53Speaker 2: everybody allow me to bring awareness to that.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Like how important has it been to the success of
- 9:58Speaker 3: your offense?
- 10:00Speaker 11: The drake is really seemingly willing to throw to anybody.
- 10:03Speaker 4: I'm just thinking of the touchdown to Kyle last night.
- 10:05Speaker 3: That's a connection that hasn't worked, you know, necessarily one
- 10:08Speaker 3: hundred percent at the time this season.
- 10:09Speaker 1: But he's still They're.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Never going to be one hundred percent. No connection is
- 10:12Speaker 2: going to be one hundred percent. Don't come me off, Phil,
- 10:15Speaker 2: nobody's going to be one hundred percent. I've said this
- 10:18Speaker 2: to you and a Drake and everybody else. The quarterback's
- 10:22Speaker 2: job is to throw to the person that's open in
- 10:24Speaker 2: the progression when they're open, because if you don't do that,
- 10:28Speaker 2: then you wait things out and you complain about stripsacks
- 10:32Speaker 2: or you complain about getting hurt. And that may be
- 10:36Speaker 2: a five yard completion and a drop step and a
- 10:38Speaker 2: knife for eight or nine yards, and if we're lucky,
- 10:41Speaker 2: it's a first down. But I think he's done that,
- 10:44Speaker 2: and I think that what I talked about with the
- 10:47Speaker 2: receivers of just saying, hey, go run my route to win,
- 10:51Speaker 2: and I may be on the front side of the
- 10:53Speaker 2: route or I may be on the backside. And I
- 10:54Speaker 2: think Todd's tried to do a good job downing of
- 10:57Speaker 2: explaining to them, hey, you've got some time. You're not
- 11:01Speaker 2: the fourth read. Like he doesn't say they're the fourth read.
- 11:04Speaker 2: He says, you got some time because you're going to
- 11:07Speaker 2: be backside on this and the quarterback is going to
- 11:09Speaker 2: progress through and if nobody's open through the progression, well
- 11:13Speaker 2: then this is where we want you.
- 11:14Speaker 1: And This is where the quarterbacks trying to, you know,
- 11:16Speaker 1: find you.
- 11:16Speaker 2: And if somebody's open earlier in the progression, then we
- 11:19Speaker 2: need to throw them the football so that bad things
- 11:21Speaker 2: don't happen. And I just sometimes when you wait things
- 11:25Speaker 2: out for one particular guy, bad things can happen. So
- 11:30Speaker 2: to answer your question, it's great to see the trust
- 11:34Speaker 2: being built and that happens through practice and then when
- 11:37Speaker 2: Kyle gets an opportunity or Pop gets an opportunity or
- 11:41Speaker 2: Poop down the seam or whoever it may be, that
- 11:45Speaker 2: the quarterback has trust in them to throw the football
- 11:48Speaker 2: and put it where it's supposed to go. Like coaching
- 11:52Speaker 2: receivers does not sort of rushing kits to think a
- 11:55Speaker 2: lot of guys want the ball, and we want them
- 11:57Speaker 2: to want the ball made good. I think Todd is
- 12:02Speaker 2: very knowledgeable. I think he builds great connections with his players.
- 12:06Speaker 2: He makes it there's a lot of trust there. Does
- 12:10Speaker 2: he gives them exactly what they need, what each individual needs.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Matt Collins is different than Steph, and Pop's different than Booty,
- 12:17Speaker 2: and that's just the personalities of every player on this team.
- 12:21Speaker 2: And the vision that I had for it is what
- 12:24Speaker 2: it is, and again, we've got a long way to go,
- 12:28Speaker 2: but I do having coached quarterbacks, I think that that
- 12:32Speaker 2: was an interesting transition, is to be able to explain
- 12:37Speaker 2: it in the eyes of a quarterback so that the
- 12:40Speaker 2: receivers know, hey, this is what the quarterback's being told
- 12:43Speaker 2: on this particular pay And if I don't have spacing,
- 12:46Speaker 2: or I don't have a separation, or I don't have
- 12:49Speaker 2: a stem, or I don't whatever the quarterback's looking for
- 12:53Speaker 2: an indicator or whatever it may be, then I'm probably
- 12:55Speaker 2: not going to get the ball. So I do feel
- 12:58Speaker 2: like that's been been a positive way to approach that
- 13:01Speaker 2: coach in that position.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Thank you guys.
- 13:05Speaker 5: All right, that was Mike Rabel and this is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 13:09Speaker 5: A little bit of a different start with Rabel going
- 13:11Speaker 5: at noon. But here we are on a Tuesday after
- 13:14Speaker 5: a Monday night game. A rare kind of quick pu
- 13:18Speaker 5: after a game. We don't get to do these, like.
- 13:20Speaker 12: An extended post games.
- 13:22Speaker 5: Like we never left. It's Paul, it's Stuce, it's me Evan.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Will he be by lady? I think he'll stop through.
- 13:28Speaker 4: He's shooting now. He's very busy. He's very busy, very busy.
- 13:32Speaker 4: He has a lot of chance to grind the tape
- 13:34Speaker 4: in the way that he wishes he could.
- 13:36Speaker 12: He hasn't been in the lab yet.
- 13:37Speaker 4: He hasn't been in the lab. He can't come in
- 13:39Speaker 4: and you know, share his insight with us yet. So
- 13:41Speaker 4: hopefully he'll he's doing a film breakdown. But I think
- 13:43Speaker 4: I might run to the locker room briefly, just get
- 13:45Speaker 4: a vibe check and I'll come back if you guys
- 13:47Speaker 4: are all right together. If that's that's okay to see you.
- 13:51Speaker 5: Do you need to go in for mole No great job,
- 13:55Speaker 5: morales high.
- 13:56Speaker 12: But sometimes for the buye. You want to make sure
- 13:58Speaker 12: that they stay on the straight.
- 13:59Speaker 5: And they don't want to see me, you know, they
- 14:03Speaker 5: just want to get get going.
- 14:05Speaker 12: Yeah, they're going to get a little bit of an
- 14:06Speaker 12: extended break here.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Yeah, this will be it. So they'll be gone after
- 14:10Speaker 4: today until Monday. Get a little little rest, relaxation, Be safe,
- 14:14Speaker 4: be smart, Paul, And I saw Jared Wilson this morning
- 14:17Speaker 4: walking in maybe off the rehab field. So maybe he's
- 14:20Speaker 4: one guy that I don't know how many you can hope.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I mean, Mill Williams, Will Campbell not going to be back.
- 14:24Speaker 13: They can't be I would say, Tonga in Wilson, the
- 14:28Speaker 13: two guys you know, and Rabel. You know, we just
- 14:30Speaker 13: heard from Mike as Fred said, he said that, you know,
- 14:33Speaker 13: there's a chance to get some guys back, you know,
- 14:35Speaker 13: when they get back from the by I would say,
- 14:37Speaker 13: those are the two guys that I would have my
- 14:38Speaker 13: eye on.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Yeah, let Landry get maybe maybe his knee gets a
- 14:42Speaker 4: little healthier. We'll see.
- 14:43Speaker 5: So we're coming off a thirty three to fifteen win
- 14:48Speaker 5: over the Giants. Patriots are eleven and two. Now I
- 14:51Speaker 5: heard this, and maybe you guys can correct me. When
- 14:54Speaker 5: they come back, they'll be playing the Bills. If they
- 14:57Speaker 5: beat the Bills. Is that a hatt and T shirt game?
- 15:00Speaker 12: Absolutely?
- 15:00Speaker 5: That clinches the a f C East. If they beat
- 15:03Speaker 5: the Bills.
- 15:04Speaker 13: Correct, they'd be up three with two with three left
- 15:08Speaker 13: in the tie break.
- 15:09Speaker 5: And the tiebreaker. So again, we were marveling at where
- 15:14Speaker 5: we are compared to where we were just even hoping
- 15:18Speaker 5: to be when the season started. And we're talking about
- 15:21Speaker 5: a possibility of clinching the AFC East with three games
- 15:26Speaker 5: to go.
- 15:27Speaker 13: I'm more surprised at that, and I'm surprised that they're
- 15:31Speaker 13: eleven to two. I'm not trying to pretend, oh I
- 15:33Speaker 13: saw just come.
- 15:33Speaker 12: I didn't.
- 15:34Speaker 13: You know, I'm sure you know Christian in La will
- 15:37Speaker 13: call and yell at me again like you did last night.
- 15:39Speaker 12: But the fact that that that is a hat and
- 15:42Speaker 12: T shirt game I did not see coming.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 15:46Speaker 13: I think I kind of mocked you Fred in the
- 15:49Speaker 13: Buffalo game. In full disclosure, I think when we talked
- 15:52Speaker 13: about the first Buffalo game, you know, and I said,
- 15:55Speaker 13: you know, it'd be a blip in the radar. Well,
- 15:57Speaker 13: it wasn't a blip in the radar. It was a
- 15:59Speaker 13: changing of the guy. Yeah, yeah, you know, at least
- 16:02Speaker 13: for twenty twenty five.
- 16:03Speaker 4: We touched on a little last night, like for me,
- 16:05Speaker 4: they gotta win the division, Like they got to win
- 16:07Speaker 4: the division. Yeah, Like, it's just that I don't know
- 16:09Speaker 4: how the season is going to end, but to at
- 16:11Speaker 4: least come out of this season with an AFC East title,
- 16:14Speaker 4: to take that back from Buffalo, I mean that to
- 16:16Speaker 4: me is mind blowing. But now I'm just I feel
- 16:19Speaker 4: like I'm savoring this. Now, I'm savoring eleven and two.
- 16:21Speaker 4: I'm savoring this win streak and everything that's happened. And
- 16:23Speaker 4: then I think over the next week. I'm just going
- 16:24Speaker 4: to try to throw it out and be like, Okay,
- 16:26Speaker 4: let's just look at this team anew four games. Where
- 16:29Speaker 4: do they end up in the seed? Did they get
- 16:31Speaker 4: the division? And what's the path look like for him?
- 16:33Speaker 4: You know, and that I think, you know, reveling in
- 16:35Speaker 4: the success a little bit of just what a surprising season.
- 16:38Speaker 4: I mean, it's just I never would have thought that
- 16:40Speaker 4: when we walked out of that Pittsburgh game they turned
- 16:42Speaker 4: the ball over five times, Ormandre's coughing it up, Drake
- 16:45Speaker 4: looks like he's going to be up and down all year.
- 16:48Speaker 4: And they never lost again.
- 16:49Speaker 13: Yeah, the Pittsburgh game was disappointing, but I think you
- 16:53Speaker 13: could make it an argument that it showed you that
- 16:56Speaker 13: they would be how much better they were so play
- 16:59Speaker 13: that slow and still have an opportunity to win the opener.
- 17:04Speaker 13: When I was walking with you, Mike in the parking
- 17:06Speaker 13: lot and the opener, I said, this is another you know,
- 17:08Speaker 13: I was thinking, you know, maybe six or seven wins,
- 17:12Speaker 13: But I did not envision this kind of turn on.
- 17:14Speaker 12: They were not good. Think about how bad the Raiders are.
- 17:18Speaker 13: The Raiders are a terrible football team, and the Patriots
- 17:23Speaker 13: were not really on par with them that day. I
- 17:26Speaker 13: mean it ended up being a touchdown game. The Raiders
- 17:28Speaker 13: were the better team for the vast majority of the
- 17:30Speaker 13: sixty minutes. They couldn't stop Geno Smith, Drake May couldn't
- 17:35Speaker 13: really get anything going offensively. But now thirteen games, like
- 17:39Speaker 13: you know whatever, thirteen weeks later, like you're the best
- 17:42Speaker 13: team in the AFC.
- 17:43Speaker 5: What do you think the turning point for the season
- 17:45Speaker 5: was has been so far? Was it the Buffalo game?
- 17:48Speaker 5: Was that the game where it turned the seat like, Okay,
- 17:50Speaker 5: we're a good team, or was it another.
- 17:52Speaker 4: I think so? I think so. I mean it's just
- 17:54Speaker 4: hard to pinpoint a moment because really I think it's
- 17:57Speaker 4: about Drake and then about how he's playing, and you
- 18:00Speaker 4: saw him have some moments of those first few weeks,
- 18:03Speaker 4: and then when you got the Buffalo and you went
- 18:05Speaker 4: toe to toe with Josh Allen and it's I mean,
- 18:07Speaker 4: you know, Sunday night game audience, the whole thing, and
- 18:10Speaker 4: to see some of the throws he came, that's where
- 18:12Speaker 4: it felt like, man, this this seems something special could happen.
- 18:15Speaker 12: That validated it. To me, The Buffalo game was the
- 18:17Speaker 12: one that stands out.
- 18:18Speaker 13: I think for them, Freda. Was that Pittsburgh loss. Yeah,
- 18:20Speaker 13: just I think it showed them this is all on us. Yeah, Now,
- 18:25Speaker 13: this isn't about the other team. It wasn't because it
- 18:27Speaker 13: wasn't Pittsburgh wasn't like taking the ball away all the time.
- 18:30Speaker 13: I mean they forced, you know, a fumble or two,
- 18:32Speaker 13: but like they were a lot of self inflicted wounds.
- 18:35Speaker 13: And I think they looked at each other and said,
- 18:37Speaker 13: you know, this is on us. If we play the
- 18:39Speaker 13: way we can play, we're gonna win these games more
- 18:42Speaker 13: often than not.
- 18:42Speaker 12: They've won ten in a row.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna go take a quick vibe check. I'll
- 18:45Speaker 4: be right back. Okay, don't worry.
- 18:47Speaker 5: See how the boys.
- 18:47Speaker 12: I do worry, Michael, and you know I do.
- 18:49Speaker 5: I'm not here.
- 18:50Speaker 4: My song will come. Be ready for the glass break?
- 18:52Speaker 5: All right? All right, okay, all right, So Mike stait
- 18:55Speaker 5: to bring me a pepsi back when you're coming off
- 18:58Speaker 5: to the locker room. It's gotta see his guys.
- 19:01Speaker 13: He does, Yeah, he does, but it is money, you know,
- 19:06Speaker 13: And I like a lot of times, you know, you
- 19:08Speaker 13: and I will bicker when you stopping. Well, you know
- 19:10Speaker 13: you didn't see this, And I was like, yeah, you
- 19:12Speaker 13: kind of like no one, no one saw it. Like everybody,
- 19:16Speaker 13: even the people that thought that they were going to
- 19:18Speaker 13: be really good, I don't think they envisioned, you know,
- 19:21Speaker 13: ten in a row.
- 19:22Speaker 12: Top of the conference.
- 19:24Speaker 13: People were like, you know, they might be able to
- 19:26Speaker 13: give Buffalo a run for the division, but they're probably
- 19:29Speaker 13: going to be a wild card. This is like it's
- 19:31Speaker 13: all in front of them right now. I agree with Mike.
- 19:34Speaker 13: The division to me should be a formality. Yeah, the
- 19:38Speaker 13: number one seed is there for the taking. And I'm
- 19:41Speaker 13: not dismissing Denver. They've played really well too. They've won
- 19:44Speaker 13: nine in a row. So there's a lot, there's a
- 19:48Speaker 13: lot still to be you know.
- 19:50Speaker 5: Obviously Buffalo has to play this week therebye, they've already
- 19:53Speaker 5: had their bye and things can change. But man, that
- 19:58Speaker 5: game coming up into that's going to be a wild one.
- 20:02Speaker 12: Well you think it should be a blowout because you
- 20:04Speaker 12: think Buffalo stinks.
- 20:06Speaker 5: I think the windows closing they're not as good as closed.
- 20:09Speaker 12: You've said it closed, okay, you said I think you
- 20:11Speaker 12: said last night.
- 20:12Speaker 13: Yeah, but the foundations are built with some kind of
- 20:16Speaker 13: a cocta.
- 20:17Speaker 12: You know, construction is replacement window.
- 20:20Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, you know that you just I don't.
- 20:22Speaker 13: Want to hear you tell me about this is going
- 20:24Speaker 13: to be a ward. I think it's going to be
- 20:25Speaker 13: a blowout.
- 20:26Speaker 5: No, I don't. The Bills are going to I don't.
- 20:29Speaker 5: The Bills are going to come in as a desperate
- 20:31Speaker 5: team and they're going to be playing hard, and it's
- 20:36Speaker 5: it's gonna be a heavyweight out.
- 20:38Speaker 13: Yeah, I'd be curious to see what they look like
- 20:42Speaker 13: this week.
- 20:43Speaker 12: Again said they played the Bengals.
- 20:44Speaker 5: Well, that's the thing.
- 20:46Speaker 13: I don't know if they got enough left in the tank.
- 20:48Speaker 13: I think they've lost. I think they've lost a lot
- 20:51Speaker 13: of players. I don't know who's playing this week. I
- 20:53Speaker 13: don't know what the status of some of their guys is.
- 20:56Speaker 13: But at some point, you know, even the great teams,
- 21:00Speaker 13: And I'm not saying that Buffalo has been a great
- 21:02Speaker 13: team because they I just think they've been.
- 21:04Speaker 12: A good team. Yea, at some point game for me, at.
- 21:07Speaker 13: Some point, there's there's like one of those years. And
- 21:10Speaker 13: I think you're seeing that in the AFC. I mentioned
- 21:13Speaker 13: this last night. This is why I think expectations are different,
- 21:16Speaker 13: and I think you and I agreed on this part.
- 21:18Speaker 13: Just like you have a chance to have Mahomes, Alan Jackson,
- 21:22Speaker 13: and Burrow not involved in the playoffs, right when everybody
- 21:26Speaker 13: looked at it as if they were a playoff team,
- 21:28Speaker 13: and a lot of people I'm not. Just because I
- 21:30Speaker 13: didn't think they were a playoff team doesn't mean no
- 21:32Speaker 13: one else did. A lot of people thought this was
- 21:34Speaker 13: the Patriots were a playoff team because of the schedule,
- 21:36Speaker 13: they thought that they could be a wildcard.
- 21:38Speaker 12: But you thought, if if they get a.
- 21:40Speaker 13: Wildcard, you then have to deal with in some combination
- 21:44Speaker 13: of those quarterbacks and they might not have to.
- 21:47Speaker 12: Really see any of them.
- 21:48Speaker 5: It's increading.
- 21:49Speaker 13: Maybe one of them, you know, maybe Lamar Jackson, you
- 21:54Speaker 13: know in Baltimore hasn't hasn't played great really all year.
- 21:57Speaker 12: But they've been very inconsistent all seed.
- 21:59Speaker 5: But their benefit fitting from a week conference week, division
- 22:02Speaker 5: week division I mean, yeah, yeah, I mean.
- 22:04Speaker 13: They're five hundred and there they're at top of the division,
- 22:07Speaker 13: you know, whereas you know, Buffalo's eight and four and
- 22:09Speaker 13: they are, you know, two games back.
- 22:11Speaker 5: Right right, So it's it's incredible, Like Mike said, you know,
- 22:17Speaker 5: savor it for now, but this there's still work to
- 22:19Speaker 5: do and this game coming up with the Bills, like
- 22:22Speaker 5: we said, just amazing. To think that you win that
- 22:26Speaker 5: game and you clinch the AFC East with three games
- 22:30Speaker 5: to go, just just incredible. But you got to do it.
- 22:33Speaker 5: You can't just hope to do it. You got to.
- 22:35Speaker 5: You gotta get it done. And they're going to come
- 22:38Speaker 5: in here, the Bills, and they're gonna be.
- 22:40Speaker 13: A lot that can happen in the next fourteen days.
- 22:42Speaker 13: But I think right now, if you're asking me, I
- 22:43Speaker 13: think that's going to happen. Wow, I don't see the
- 22:46Speaker 13: Patriots losing at home coming out of the bar like
- 22:49Speaker 13: to a banged.
- 22:50Speaker 12: Up Bills team.
- 22:50Speaker 5: That's it.
- 22:51Speaker 13: And I know the Patriots are banged up a little
- 22:52Speaker 13: bit too, but yeah, not like these other teams.
- 22:55Speaker 5: Now, your guys, Steven a this morning had his power rankings.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Who do you think he had as the number one
- 23:02Speaker 5: team in.
- 23:03Speaker 12: The whole NFL?
- 23:04Speaker 5: Whole NFL?
- 23:05Speaker 12: Rams, Nope, I'm not really interested.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Then the Seahawks. Who do you think he had number two?
- 23:12Speaker 5: The Rams? Nope? The Patriots? Okay. And I think that
- 23:15Speaker 5: was more like, I'm sorry, you know, for doing what
- 23:18Speaker 5: he said, said they break may.
- 23:20Speaker 12: The Patriots have been too in those rankings.
- 23:23Speaker 5: This is just Stephen a Smith's ranking.
- 23:25Speaker 12: Yeah, I don't know what what what show is he on?
- 23:28Speaker 5: I have no idea. No, it's they all blend together.
- 23:31Speaker 12: That was being ironic, I know what you I was
- 23:34Speaker 12: pretending to me.
- 23:35Speaker 5: They all blend together because they're all on each other's show,
- 23:38Speaker 5: So who.
- 23:38Speaker 12: Knows power rankings.
- 23:40Speaker 5: They're just fun, just fun.
- 23:42Speaker 12: I agree.
- 23:43Speaker 13: I missed doing them. I used to do them, you know,
- 23:46Speaker 13: in the notes, I just because they you know, there's
- 23:48Speaker 13: no stakes. Yeah, you know, it's not a poll. It's
- 23:52Speaker 13: not like college where it kind of matters.
- 23:53Speaker 5: It's all recency bias. It's all who's hot at the moment.
- 23:57Speaker 12: Well, that recency bias is so true.
- 23:59Speaker 13: Like I was listening this morning at one of my
- 24:01Speaker 13: shows when I was driving in, and it's like Matthew
- 24:06Speaker 13: Stafford's no longer MVP, the Rams are no longer any good.
- 24:11Speaker 13: Like the Rams lost to Carolina, right, you know, Pitt,
- 24:14Speaker 13: It's like, wait a minute, the Patriots lost to the Raiders.
- 24:17Speaker 13: Like everybody has one of those stink bombs. And for
- 24:21Speaker 13: some reason, because the Patriots happened so long ago, it
- 24:24Speaker 13: like didn't exist, you know. And that's the way I'm
- 24:27Speaker 13: listening to it. It's like geez, I mean, I don't
- 24:30Speaker 13: know if you watched any of that Rams game, you know,
- 24:32Speaker 13: Stafford had gone like I don't know, six or seven
- 24:35Speaker 13: weeks without a turnover. All of a sudden, he throws
- 24:38Speaker 13: a pick in the end zone that gets deflected. He
- 24:40Speaker 13: tows a pick six that would be down in scoring
- 24:42Speaker 13: range again, and then late in the game there in
- 24:44Speaker 13: field goal range to tie the game, and.
- 24:45Speaker 12: He gets strip sacked.
- 24:47Speaker 13: Three specific turnovers that took points off the board for
- 24:50Speaker 13: them and put points on the board for the Panthers.
- 24:52Speaker 12: Like, that's the.
- 24:53Speaker 13: Difference in the game. You lose thirty one to twenty eight.
- 24:55Speaker 13: You know, even the good teams, like the Patriots learned
- 24:59Speaker 13: against Pittsburgh, even the good teams can't just hand the
- 25:02Speaker 13: other team the ball and expect to win.
- 25:04Speaker 5: No, So to me, that does not knock him down
- 25:09Speaker 5: from the MVP race. I think he's to me, he's
- 25:12Speaker 5: still the leader.
- 25:13Speaker 12: Yeah, I don't really.
- 25:16Speaker 13: Yeah, I think May has been strongly and I told
- 25:18Speaker 13: you I would make an argument for May anyway, just
- 25:20Speaker 13: because of how much less he's got to work with
- 25:23Speaker 13: than scorer does. But the Rams to me, are still
- 25:26Speaker 13: the best team, best balance. They had a bad game.
- 25:29Speaker 13: They played a bad game yep against Carolina, and Carolina,
- 25:32Speaker 13: for whatever reason, is one of these jekyl and high
- 25:34Speaker 13: teams that every other week they look really good and
- 25:37Speaker 13: then really bad. They're able to rise their level occasionally,
- 25:42Speaker 13: but you know, we saw them play here and they
- 25:44Speaker 13: look terrible. We see them play, you know, against San
- 25:49Speaker 13: Francisco last week, they look like they'd never played before.
- 25:53Speaker 13: You know, brock Perty's throwing them interceptions all over the
- 25:55Speaker 13: place and they couldn't move, they couldn't get anything going.
- 25:58Speaker 13: The next week they beat the Rams or as how
- 26:00Speaker 13: does any team in football?
- 26:01Speaker 5: Yeah, so it's it is a week to week thing.
- 26:04Speaker 5: But the Patriots have been one of those teams that
- 26:06Speaker 5: have been consistent. Ten games in a row, ten games
- 26:09Speaker 5: in a row.
- 26:10Speaker 12: I was doing Denver play this week.
- 26:13Speaker 5: I don't know, Yeah, I was doing the math. And
- 26:17Speaker 5: you know, if the Patriots keep winning all the way,
- 26:20Speaker 5: that'll be seventeen in a row, and then next year
- 26:24Speaker 5: you need five to break their own record of twenty
- 26:27Speaker 5: one games in a row. Okay, so I'm really thinking
- 26:31Speaker 5: of head Paul. All right, all right, eight five to
- 26:35Speaker 5: five past five hundred is the Hotline podcast at Patriots
- 26:39Speaker 5: dot com is the email address. You know, we just
- 26:41Speaker 5: came off two hours of the postgame show, so we
- 26:44Speaker 5: said a lot then. And you know, so I know
- 26:49Speaker 5: some of you probably weren't up with us, so we
- 26:51Speaker 5: want to get people involved as soon as.
- 26:53Speaker 13: Possible as I think this was as impressive a performance
- 26:56Speaker 13: as the Patriots have had. This was, you know, the
- 26:59Speaker 13: seventeen nothing in the first quarter game set match. You know,
- 27:02Speaker 13: I thought the energy that they played with, the physicality
- 27:04Speaker 13: they played with. You mentioned Christian Ellis, Yeah, I thought
- 27:07Speaker 13: he really stood out. You mentioned him last night on
- 27:09Speaker 13: your good list. Yeah. Yeah, I thought it was as
- 27:12Speaker 13: completer performance as they've had in all three phases.
- 27:14Speaker 5: Yeah, I would say, and you know, Rabel kind of
- 27:17Speaker 5: confirmed it that. You know, he reminded them you got
- 27:19Speaker 5: to bring the energy. You know a lot of people
- 27:24Speaker 5: would have said, well, you can understand, like if the
- 27:26Speaker 5: Patriots had come in not one hundred percent energy wise,
- 27:30Speaker 5: Oh you can understand, they're little banged up, you got
- 27:32Speaker 5: the buy coming up. They just wanted to get through
- 27:34Speaker 5: the game. But instead Rabel reminded them to you know,
- 27:37Speaker 5: you're out there playing football. Bring the energy. They made
- 27:40Speaker 5: I think the concerted you know, commitment to be the hammer,
- 27:45Speaker 5: not the nails.
- 27:45Speaker 13: So I totally agree with that iron Sharpen's iron. I'll
- 27:49Speaker 13: just throw them all in there for you. But I
- 27:50Speaker 13: also thought Rabel made a really good point that kind of,
- 27:55Speaker 13: you know, it was overlooked. I think a lot of
- 27:57Speaker 13: people are like I kind of expected them to look
- 28:00Speaker 13: at the you know, the buy coming up at thirteen weeks.
- 28:03Speaker 13: But he made the point that there were guys playing
- 28:05Speaker 13: in that game. They haven't played right, and they wanted
- 28:07Speaker 13: to play right. They were looking forward to getting their opportunity,
- 28:10Speaker 13: and those guys were a big part of that win
- 28:12Speaker 13: last night.
- 28:13Speaker 5: Yep.
- 28:13Speaker 13: Some of those guys, you know, Corey Burden, who's out
- 28:16Speaker 13: there a little bit, Ponder who's out there making plays,
- 28:19Speaker 13: Josh Farmer, you know, Vederian Lowe and Ben Brown who
- 28:23Speaker 13: haven't had a ton of playing time, you know, on
- 28:25Speaker 13: the offensive line, Thayo Mumford is out there is that
- 28:28Speaker 13: the you know, the extra tight end. So I think
- 28:31Speaker 13: those guys are fresh. Yep, you know, so I think
- 28:34Speaker 13: they you know, and elis even it's been sort of
- 28:36Speaker 13: like a part time player has been in and out.
- 28:38Speaker 5: Gibbons is taking some of his reps he missed a
- 28:40Speaker 5: couple of games.
- 28:41Speaker 13: Some of these guys that are flying around a little bit,
- 28:44Speaker 13: you know, I think we're looking for an opportunity and
- 28:46Speaker 13: they took advantage of it.
- 28:47Speaker 5: Yep, good stuff, all right, eight five five pats five hundred.
- 28:51Speaker 5: Where do we go? Let's go to d C where
- 28:54Speaker 5: herm is on the line. What's up herm.
- 28:58Speaker 14: Going on?
- 28:59Speaker 5: Hey?
- 29:02Speaker 15: Quick comment and a question. So watching yesterdays game, that
- 29:08Speaker 15: gives me even more confidence to proclaim that the floor
- 29:13Speaker 15: for this team is the is the championship? I mean,
- 29:15Speaker 15: between Ravel's coaching and I think Josh McDaniels, in my
- 29:22Speaker 15: first opinion, has a underrated role this. The entire thing
- 29:26Speaker 15: is obviously with break maybe the NTY candidate, I think
- 29:30Speaker 15: he has less to do with it. So between Ravel's
- 29:32Speaker 15: coaching and doctor Daniels, but I mean this drag may
- 29:37Speaker 15: he's he will not roll in a high leverage moment.
- 29:44Speaker 15: So between those three components, obviously the defense and playing
- 29:47Speaker 15: the city, that just gives me a lot of confidence
- 29:51Speaker 15: that that is championship is okay?
- 29:55Speaker 5: All right?
- 29:56Speaker 15: The question for you guys is Marcus Jones, right, So
- 30:03Speaker 15: what is it about him that? And it sounds like
- 30:06Speaker 15: a simple question, right, But why is he so dangerous
- 30:09Speaker 15: in the punt return game? Is it that he just
- 30:12Speaker 15: knows how to have these blocks?
- 30:13Speaker 4: Is it is his speed?
- 30:15Speaker 1: Is it?
- 30:16Speaker 15: I don't know how A team scared of him so
- 30:18Speaker 15: they play kind of pimid that he takes advantage of them.
- 30:22Speaker 12: Right, So what is it about hands?
- 30:24Speaker 1: Specific good?
- 30:24Speaker 15: I mean, this kid is Yeah, you be on standards, right,
- 30:29Speaker 15: So yeah, the question is what will makes.
- 30:32Speaker 5: So what makes him that good? Yeah? I hear you, herm.
- 30:35Speaker 5: It's a good question. And you know, I would say,
- 30:37Speaker 5: like it's a good question to ask of any of
- 30:40Speaker 5: these great punt returners, Like what separates the really good
- 30:44Speaker 5: punt returners from just you know, the average punt returners.
- 30:47Speaker 5: You mentioned a lot of it. Yes, he's fast. I
- 30:50Speaker 5: think the other thing is fearlessness. I think you just
- 30:53Speaker 5: got to just be willing to just get up there.
- 30:55Speaker 5: And then the third thing I would say is is
- 30:57Speaker 5: just vision and just make the right move at the
- 31:01Speaker 5: right time. Now, the one he returned last night, the
- 31:07Speaker 5: Giants had just terrible Like they when you play special teams,
- 31:10Speaker 5: this is the thing the coaches, you know, stay in
- 31:12Speaker 5: your lane, stay in your lane. And there were just
- 31:15Speaker 5: too many gaps on the field, and when you got
- 31:17Speaker 5: a guy with speed and vision and fearlessness, he's going
- 31:21Speaker 5: to take advantage of that, and he certainly did. He
- 31:23Speaker 5: went untouched. Really, I don't think anyone.
- 31:25Speaker 13: The only guy he had to make miss was the punter, right.
- 31:28Speaker 13: I would say that the things that you said, I
- 31:30Speaker 13: would agree with, and I would just say he has
- 31:32Speaker 13: elite decision making. Yeah, and you know, there are times
- 31:35Speaker 13: that he has really impressive and I listen, I have
- 31:39Speaker 13: a crush on Marcus Jones, and I have since the
- 31:41Speaker 13: first time I saw Army return a punt. You know,
- 31:44Speaker 13: I think he's electric in that department. I think he's
- 31:46Speaker 13: one of the best I've ever seen, and I'm not exaggerating.
- 31:51Speaker 13: But there are sometimes that he makes plays on fair
- 31:56Speaker 13: catches or running up ten yards and catching one in
- 31:59Speaker 13: traffic that they're so underrated and do not happen with
- 32:03Speaker 13: every and there's a lot of guys around.
- 32:04Speaker 12: The league that can do it.
- 32:05Speaker 13: He's not the only one that does that, but he's
- 32:08Speaker 13: elite at understanding when that yardage needs to be saved.
- 32:12Speaker 13: You know, you look at it fall. He was a
- 32:14Speaker 13: ninety four yard part return last night. Some guys would
- 32:17Speaker 13: have let it go in the end zone, just taken
- 32:18Speaker 13: the touch back, you know, but he sees the space
- 32:22Speaker 13: that he had and he understands that, you know, the
- 32:24Speaker 13: time and space. I just think it's a combination of
- 32:27Speaker 13: his fearlessness and his decision making and obviously has God
- 32:30Speaker 13: given ability, you know, and speed and elusiveness and whatnot.
- 32:33Speaker 13: But we've seen it a couple of years ago as
- 32:36Speaker 13: an offensive player. You know, he gets a little screen
- 32:39Speaker 13: pass and he's like, guys, miss, he's gone.
- 32:41Speaker 12: And you see that he's the elite runner with the football.
- 32:43Speaker 5: You see that fearlessness in the run game too. He's
- 32:46Speaker 5: not afraid to take out about that today. And let
- 32:48Speaker 5: me tell you, Marcus Jones is not a hair over
- 32:51Speaker 5: five to seven.
- 32:52Speaker 12: No, he's he's small, smaller than me.
- 32:54Speaker 5: I told these guys, you know, we're on the road.
- 32:57Speaker 5: I'm in the elevator of doors open. He walks in
- 32:59Speaker 5: ice to God, he's right with me, and I'm short,
- 33:02Speaker 5: and he he was eye to eye with me. And
- 33:05Speaker 5: but he is, you know, he's as solid as they come.
- 33:08Speaker 5: Like Paul said, great athlete, and he's just different than
- 33:14Speaker 5: other guys. Yeah, he's just different.
- 33:16Speaker 13: And it's been a weapon for them. Yeah, you know
- 33:18Speaker 13: that's I mean, that's what three huge punt returns. Two
- 33:22Speaker 13: touchdowns now, but three long long punt reach.
- 33:26Speaker 5: So there was an announcement when he had his touchdown.
- 33:29Speaker 5: He is the fourth Patriot enfranchised history to have two
- 33:35Speaker 5: returns in the same season. Troy Brown was another one,
- 33:39Speaker 5: and I forget the other.
- 33:40Speaker 13: Trey Brown did in No one I remember that in
- 33:42Speaker 13: the Super Bowl year. I think Mikeynes.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Canes probably did it.
- 33:46Speaker 12: I don't know, Yep, Fryer do it.
- 33:50Speaker 5: But hey, Savage, time to get three.
- 33:53Speaker 13: He's averaging almost nineteen yards of punt return eighteen point eight.
- 33:56Speaker 13: That's an incredibly high number.
- 33:58Speaker 5: Yeah all right, good question though about Marcus Jones. Let's
- 34:03Speaker 5: go to Sean and Vancouver. What's up Sean? Sean? All right,
- 34:11Speaker 5: Sean has gone. How about we'll stay in Canada. We'll
- 34:15Speaker 5: go to Tony. Hey, Tony, Hey.
- 34:19Speaker 6: Guys, what a great game last night. I'm just calling
- 34:23Speaker 6: in to congratulate Mike Rabel for winning Coach of the
- 34:26Speaker 6: Year this year. No, seriously, what I'm calling about is
- 34:32Speaker 6: Rabel and just what in I think when we think
- 34:37Speaker 6: about where we were this time last year or the
- 34:41Speaker 6: year before, and where we're at now, it's really hard
- 34:44Speaker 6: to believe. And I know a lot of people have
- 34:47Speaker 6: said good things about Rabel and giving him credit, but
- 34:50Speaker 6: I don't think he's actually getting enough credit. And when
- 34:54Speaker 6: I say Coach of the Year, I sincerely believe he's
- 34:58Speaker 6: gonna he has got locked up but.
- 35:02Speaker 5: Doing a good job.
- 35:03Speaker 13: I don't think it's lucked out. I mean, I find
- 35:05Speaker 13: it hard to believe that he's not getting enough credit.
- 35:08Speaker 13: He's generally one or one A. Yeah, the reasons it's
- 35:11Speaker 13: either Drake may or Mike Rabel getting a credit.
- 35:13Speaker 5: Getting a lot of credit, and he's getting a lot
- 35:15Speaker 5: of credit nationally.
- 35:16Speaker 12: Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
- 35:18Speaker 6: Okay, and I'll listen to the show. By one thing
- 35:20Speaker 6: Rabel said in his first introductory press conference, he said
- 35:23Speaker 6: the goals were to win the AFC East, to host
- 35:26Speaker 6: playoff games, and to compete for championships. When I heard it,
- 35:30Speaker 6: I said, yeah, I believe it, but maybe in two
- 35:34Speaker 6: or three years if everything goes our way. And now
- 35:37Speaker 6: we're one game away from winning that AFC East game.
- 35:42Speaker 5: So you got that right?
- 35:43Speaker 6: Thanks for the show, guys.
- 35:44Speaker 13: Yeah, no, thanks Tony, Thanks for Colin. I'll give you
- 35:47Speaker 13: one thing that I don't think has gotten as much
- 35:50Speaker 13: attention as it should is just how good of an
- 35:53Speaker 13: offseason they had. And if that you want to credit
- 35:55Speaker 13: Vrabel specifically or Ryan Cowden and Elliott Woolf for their
- 36:00Speaker 13: roles in it. But they nailed several free agents. I mean,
- 36:04Speaker 13: this is very similar to twenty one like they had.
- 36:08Speaker 13: This is even better than twenty one because I think
- 36:10Speaker 13: there's more guys that have made an impact, whether it's
- 36:12Speaker 13: Milton Williams or Carlton Davis or Robert Spellane, you know,
- 36:16Speaker 13: Morgan Moses. They have hit on virtually every one of
- 36:20Speaker 13: Stefan Diggs, mac Hollans, Caylevon Chase On, Kyris Tanga. They
- 36:28Speaker 13: there's not like a miss in the bunch. And how
- 36:31Speaker 13: do you you know people might look at it and say, well,
- 36:33Speaker 13: she used They took a full win team. That's how
- 36:35Speaker 13: you do it. Yep, yeah, that's how you do it.
- 36:38Speaker 13: It's not the same guys.
- 36:39Speaker 5: Yeah, now you nailed it, Paul. Great acquisitions. They brought
- 36:44Speaker 5: in not just guys, but the right guys who Harold
- 36:47Speaker 5: Andrey and then and then I would and then when
- 36:49Speaker 5: you couple that with good coaching, which I think we're
- 36:51Speaker 5: seeing as well, up and down. You know, the director,
- 36:55Speaker 5: the staff directory, you know, they're putting him in positions
- 36:59Speaker 5: to six and it's just all coming together, folks, it's
- 37:04Speaker 5: all coming together. We're talking Bears Patriots super Bowl forty years.
- 37:09Speaker 13: I don't think the Bears have a shot in hell really,
- 37:12Speaker 13: why because how does they They had good I don't know.
- 37:15Speaker 5: The record says otherwise. They're the number one seed in
- 37:22Speaker 5: the NFC. I know, this is supposed to be the
- 37:24Speaker 5: top NFC. That's very so much better than they.
- 37:26Speaker 13: Are very consistent, I know, and that's why they're there
- 37:30Speaker 13: because the other teams are beating the crap out of
- 37:32Speaker 13: each other, and they're beating the crap out of the
- 37:34Speaker 13: bad teams.
- 37:34Speaker 5: Okay, all right, but I don't know.
- 37:37Speaker 13: They had a very impressive Black Friday win in Philadelphia.
- 37:40Speaker 12: That was a big boy win.
- 37:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:41Speaker 13: Now, I'll be curious to see if they can do
- 37:43Speaker 13: that to Green Bay and they can do that to Detroit.
- 37:46Speaker 5: Sure, we'll see.
- 37:47Speaker 13: I'm skeptical, but listen, if I'm a Bears, that doesn't
- 37:50Speaker 13: mean that the track is in the train's not going
- 37:52Speaker 13: in the right direction, Ben Johnson, And I know you
- 37:55Speaker 13: said this in Tony's call, like Ben Johnson's going to
- 37:58Speaker 13: be in that conversation. I don't know it's going to
- 38:00Speaker 13: happen with Indy with Daniel Jones's broken leg, but if
- 38:02Speaker 13: they can write the ship, Shane Stiken is going to
- 38:04Speaker 13: be in that conversation. And by the way, Sean Payton
- 38:07Speaker 13: deserves to be in that conversation too. Yep, he's got
- 38:10Speaker 13: a second year quarterback just like my trible does you know?
- 38:13Speaker 5: But when you talk about Ben Johnson, if I'm a
- 38:15Speaker 5: Bears fan, I'm as happy with him as Patriots fans
- 38:18Speaker 5: are with FEU.
- 38:19Speaker 13: I mean, no doubt Chicago's going in the right direction.
- 38:21Speaker 13: I'm not sure they worthy of being with him?
- 38:23Speaker 5: Is Ben Johnson not only is the head coach, but he's,
- 38:26Speaker 5: you know, really the defensive coordinator. He's calling the plays anyway,
- 38:29Speaker 5: and I would say he's been probably instrumental in getting
- 38:32Speaker 5: Caleb Williams right.
- 38:34Speaker 12: Yeah see, I you know this.
- 38:37Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 38:38Speaker 13: I'm a believer in Caleb Williams's talent. I don't think
- 38:40Speaker 13: he's played that great. I think he's been good when
- 38:42Speaker 13: he's had to be yes, which is a big plus.
- 38:45Speaker 13: In his column, He's been clutch, but I think there's
- 38:49Speaker 13: still too much sloppiness to his game.
- 38:51Speaker 12: I think this.
- 38:53Speaker 13: You know, I'm not a big completion percentage guy, but
- 38:55Speaker 13: you really need to be over sixty five percent. He's not, no,
- 38:59Speaker 13: but I think many games he's in the fifties.
- 39:01Speaker 5: I think he's got the clutch Gen.
- 39:02Speaker 13: He definitely has the clutch Geen and they and they
- 39:05Speaker 13: definitely respond to him right now. So he's done something
- 39:07Speaker 13: different in year two to get his teammates, you.
- 39:10Speaker 12: Know, behind him.
- 39:11Speaker 13: I will give that they're going in the right direction. Chicago,
- 39:14Speaker 13: I think is very promising. But if they were playing
- 39:18Speaker 13: at Detroit tomorrow, if they were playing home against Green
- 39:20Speaker 13: Bay tomorrow, if they were playing the Rams tomorrow, who
- 39:24Speaker 13: would you think would win?
- 39:25Speaker 5: I don't know who.
- 39:26Speaker 12: Do you think none of us, Fred, we don't know.
- 39:29Speaker 12: The game hadn't played.
- 39:30Speaker 5: I think those other teams would probably be favored.
- 39:32Speaker 12: Right, So that's all I'm saying.
- 39:34Speaker 1: I think.
- 39:34Speaker 13: Whereas I think if the Patriots are playing Denver tomorrow,
- 39:36Speaker 13: I think it'd.
- 39:37Speaker 12: Be a toss up.
- 39:37Speaker 5: Well, if it's in Denver, they might be.
- 39:39Speaker 12: But I think it'd be a toss up.
- 39:41Speaker 13: I don't think it would be a toss up if
- 39:42Speaker 13: the Bears are playing the Packers in Lambeau tomorrow.
- 39:45Speaker 5: See the Packers like they've been inconsistent too.
- 39:47Speaker 13: So they have been, but they're better players. They have
- 39:51Speaker 13: better players than the Bears.
- 39:52Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, well listen. If I'm a Bears fan, I'm like.
- 39:56Speaker 13: Like Paul, Iams have a nine to three record too,
- 39:59Speaker 13: and you know, whatever the tiebreaker is currently has the
- 40:02Speaker 13: Bears ahead of them. I don't even think there's a
- 40:04Speaker 13: comparison between those two rosters. I don't think it's close.
- 40:08Speaker 13: I think the Rims would be favored by like seven
- 40:10Speaker 13: in a game that they're playing against against the Bears.
- 40:13Speaker 5: I'm telling you, Paul, mark it down. Patriots Bears forty
- 40:18Speaker 5: years from the day.
- 40:19Speaker 13: That would be an unbelievable break for the Patriots to
- 40:22Speaker 13: play out of that conference, the least talented team out
- 40:28Speaker 13: of the seventh playoffs. But I would rather play every
- 40:31Speaker 13: if they get to Chicago than any of the other
- 40:34Speaker 13: ones they.
- 40:34Speaker 5: Get to the super Bowl. Though, they've done something right,
- 40:37Speaker 5: they've beaten all those teams they'll have to have beaten
- 40:39Speaker 5: them in the playoffs. They what's up, Mike, Yeah, Paul
- 40:47Speaker 5: doesn't think the Bears are any good.
- 40:49Speaker 12: I didn't say any good.
- 40:51Speaker 13: I don't think. I think Caleb Williams is extremely talented.
- 40:54Speaker 13: I do, and I think that. I just to tell
- 40:57Speaker 13: you what I actually said is I think that they
- 41:00Speaker 13: be tremendously optimistic in Chicago. They're heading in the right
- 41:02Speaker 13: direction and they're much better. I think Caleb Williams is
- 41:05Speaker 13: making strides. I think he's been really clutched. Fred said
- 41:07Speaker 13: he has the clutch gene. I said, absolutely, I agree.
- 41:10Speaker 13: I just don't think that he's consistent enough. And I
- 41:11Speaker 13: don't think the team it's I think the defense lives
- 41:13Speaker 13: off turnovers. I think the defense is kind of mid
- 41:16Speaker 13: as you guys, you kids like to say thank you
- 41:18Speaker 13: for They live off of forcing turnovers, which is to me,
- 41:22Speaker 13: not a way to sustain in the playoffs. All you
- 41:25Speaker 13: have to do is have one game. One game, you
- 41:27Speaker 13: don't force the turnovers, and you go home. I don't
- 41:30Speaker 13: think they're.
- 41:30Speaker 12: As good as Philly.
- 41:32Speaker 13: I know they just beat Philadelphia, Okay, I don't think
- 41:34Speaker 13: there as good as Philadelphia. I don't think they're as
- 41:36Speaker 13: good as the Rams. I don't think they're as good
- 41:39Speaker 13: as the Seahawks. I don't think there as good as
- 41:40Speaker 13: the Packers. I don't think they're as good as the Lions.
- 41:42Speaker 5: Have you watched Philly lately?
- 41:44Speaker 13: Yeah, they're spirally Okay, they lost the game, Fred, Like,
- 41:48Speaker 13: didn't we do this last year?
- 41:50Speaker 5: I'm telling you what. Maybe they'll turn it around, but
- 41:52Speaker 5: I don't. I don't look at Philly.
- 41:53Speaker 13: As I'm talking about talent. I'm not talking about how
- 41:56Speaker 13: they're actually playing.
- 41:57Speaker 5: Like I'm talking about how the team is playing.
- 41:59Speaker 13: Sometimes the talent just wins out, you know. Sometimes Friday
- 42:04Speaker 13: it didn't. Sometimes the lesser talented team beat the more talent.
- 42:08Speaker 5: And sometimes regardless of the talent, the team just can't
- 42:11Speaker 5: get it together.
- 42:12Speaker 12: Upsets happened, all right. I don't know why, Like you're
- 42:14Speaker 12: eight and four, you just can't get it together. Like,
- 42:16Speaker 12: I don't like it. It's not they're not three and nine.
- 42:18Speaker 5: You're not paying attention, all right, Deuce? Yeah, what's going on?
- 42:22Speaker 4: So it's a lively locker room today, lively locker room
- 42:25Speaker 4: seemed like guys were kind of getting ready to leave.
- 42:27Speaker 4: But a couple things to report. Oh, it's nice to
- 42:31Speaker 4: see Will Campbell. I just I saw Will Cambell and
- 42:33Speaker 4: there having laid eyes on Will Campbell last week since
- 42:35Speaker 4: he got hurt. He had a big, old, big old
- 42:37Speaker 4: knee brace on.
- 42:38Speaker 12: I saw Will Campbell on Friday.
- 42:39Speaker 5: I haven't seen it, so wow, it's just like those
- 42:41Speaker 5: old cartoons where the heart like comes out.
- 42:45Speaker 4: Oh well, he's not dead.
- 42:46Speaker 12: But I don't know.
- 42:47Speaker 4: I think everybody, like a lot of people. I'll speak
- 42:49Speaker 4: for myself, like when the kid went down, you're just
- 42:51Speaker 4: like such a bummer. And he's always so great in
- 42:54Speaker 4: the locker room, love hearing from him. So it's just
- 42:56Speaker 4: good to see him in a reminder that he's not dead.
- 42:58Speaker 4: He's still there. You know, his leg is still attached.
- 43:00Speaker 4: But he did have a brace on, you know, moving
- 43:03Speaker 4: as gingerly as someone would with a leg brace on,
- 43:05Speaker 4: but not like you know, he's walking and everything. So
- 43:08Speaker 4: good sign. I mean, he's just got to continue to
- 43:09Speaker 4: get healthy. But but we did talk to klevon Chase
- 43:12Speaker 4: on who continues to echo this like this is my
- 43:16Speaker 4: favorite team I've been a part of, you know, the
- 43:18Speaker 4: just the locker room and and said the before asked
- 43:21Speaker 4: the follow up question of you know what, how does
- 43:23Speaker 4: that manifest itself? Like why? And he's like, you know,
- 43:26Speaker 4: I just think we have belief in ourselves and we
- 43:28Speaker 4: also just are really close. If you go to any
- 43:30Speaker 4: of the community events. He said, guys are coming out
- 43:33Speaker 4: for that showing up. You know, it's not just on
- 43:35Speaker 4: the field. So just good vibes from Kaylebon Chase on.
- 43:38Speaker 4: But you just tell all these guys there's a weight
- 43:41Speaker 4: lifted off them for the moment, you know, like Robert
- 43:43Speaker 4: Splain was gooving around in the locker room. You don't
- 43:45Speaker 4: ever see Robert Splain goofing around in the locker room. He's
- 43:47Speaker 4: always like locked in getting ready for practice. He's joking
- 43:50Speaker 4: around with with Chase.
- 43:51Speaker 5: Any any word on him, Why.
- 43:53Speaker 4: No, But that's that's exactly what I was thinking. Freddie
- 43:55Speaker 4: seemed no worse for wear, doesn't seem sick.
- 43:57Speaker 5: Nobody talked to him and asked him.
- 43:59Speaker 4: Nobody asked him, Uh, at least when we're in there.
- 44:01Speaker 13: So, yeah, it's not the best media, you know, it was.
- 44:06Speaker 13: It was one hundred percent of the snaps in every game,
- 44:09Speaker 13: like half of the snaps, and no.
- 44:11Speaker 5: I mean it was.
- 44:12Speaker 4: It is a little bit of a weird day of
- 44:13Speaker 4: guys like coming and going. And right as I was
- 44:16Speaker 4: walking out the I side Jalen Hawkins. So I was
- 44:18Speaker 4: about to go over and I wanted to see if
- 44:19Speaker 4: I could grab him, but he was in.
- 44:20Speaker 13: The group of when you going six or seven miles
- 44:23Speaker 13: an hour there.
- 44:24Speaker 4: I was like, why did you try to kill that
- 44:25Speaker 4: guy with your head? So it is good stuff though,
- 44:30Speaker 4: good vibes in there. Just you could tell this is
- 44:32Speaker 4: the bye week and everybody's excited. It's like, I feel
- 44:35Speaker 4: like it's one of those things where when the schedule
- 44:37Speaker 4: comes out, you're like, oh my god, we don't have
- 44:39Speaker 4: a bye till them, but then when you get here,
- 44:40Speaker 4: you're like, this is great.
- 44:42Speaker 12: The real the end of the season.
- 44:43Speaker 4: By don't players they wanted like middle middle.
- 44:46Speaker 5: I would think they would.
- 44:46Speaker 13: Want it right in the middle. Yeah, but I mean
- 44:49Speaker 13: only like one four teams can get it right in
- 44:53Speaker 13: the middle. I would rather have it now than like
- 44:55Speaker 13: week five.
- 44:55Speaker 5: I was just you took the words that in mind,
- 44:57Speaker 5: I'd rather have it late than early. Yeah.
- 44:59Speaker 4: Yeah, that's kind the point I was trying to make.
- 45:01Speaker 4: You know, you first see it, you're like, oh my god,
- 45:02Speaker 4: it's not till December. But when you get to December
- 45:05Speaker 4: and that's when you really need the rest, I'm sure
- 45:06Speaker 4: that you're you're selfishly.
- 45:09Speaker 13: I like it earlier because you can do something the
- 45:12Speaker 13: weather's conducive, you know, Like you know, I don't think
- 45:14Speaker 13: anybody's doing anything, by the way, it's like twinking of
- 45:17Speaker 13: doing something.
- 45:18Speaker 5: So I came in a little late today because I
- 45:21Speaker 5: slept in a little late.
- 45:22Speaker 12: But and you have a long time.
- 45:24Speaker 5: I was looking at our old friend big heads Andy
- 45:27Speaker 5: Hart's rant on the social media about how he's paying
- 45:30Speaker 5: like six hundred dollars for Christmas.
- 45:32Speaker 1: You know.
- 45:34Speaker 5: That's ridiculous. I just went and got a tree for
- 45:36Speaker 5: one hundred bucks down the street.
- 45:38Speaker 4: What's he buying?
- 45:40Speaker 5: I don't know, Like I think they see him coming
- 45:42Speaker 5: and they know he's a big landowner, and so they overcharge.
- 45:45Speaker 13: Him afternoon drive money now and they know they can
- 45:47Speaker 13: take advantage of it.
- 45:48Speaker 12: They got a fish on the hook.
- 45:50Speaker 5: But but like, I don't know what he's like. I
- 45:51Speaker 5: got like, you can't. I'm gonna go get the tree
- 45:55Speaker 5: this morning before they jack up the prices. And one
- 45:58Speaker 5: hundred bucks it's reasonable if nowadays.
- 46:01Speaker 4: Anything more than like a hundred bucks. If it was
- 46:03Speaker 4: two hundred bucks, were like, no, I don't think we're going.
- 46:05Speaker 5: We wouldn't have Christmas.
- 46:08Speaker 4: He's a tree, a tree down in the woods somewhere.
- 46:11Speaker 4: I'm sure there's a tree about to get a rest.
- 46:14Speaker 12: You just go to a place.
- 46:15Speaker 13: Yeah, go to a place that's already like you know,
- 46:17Speaker 13: so they put the net on keeping place right, so
- 46:21Speaker 13: like you're not a tree stop. I think Andy is
- 46:23Speaker 13: like one of those, like we go in the off
- 46:26Speaker 13: season and we mark a tree. Yeah, we pick it out.
- 46:30Speaker 5: He lifts his leg and peas on it.
- 46:31Speaker 12: This is his mind, yeah, marking it. I think he's
- 46:35Speaker 12: a bit of a tree snop.
- 46:36Speaker 5: I think that's why he's paying six hundred dollars to
- 46:38Speaker 5: get walking around with his chainsaw.
- 46:40Speaker 4: It's better be somehow of a tree, I know, a
- 46:41Speaker 4: real tree. Yeah, yeah, we still do. I kind of
- 46:44Speaker 4: floated the idea of fake tree. This is I'm a
- 46:46Speaker 4: costco guy now, so we have the costco they get
- 46:48Speaker 4: the fake trees, which aren't inexpensive. But I just that's
- 46:50Speaker 4: such a I looked.
- 46:52Speaker 5: At those online at Bwesome Hill. I guess they had
- 46:55Speaker 5: the good one seven hundred bucks.
- 46:56Speaker 13: Yeah, but you can get him for a lot less
- 46:58Speaker 13: than that. But yeah, you can spend a lot of
- 46:59Speaker 13: money on a fair tree. Beth just found a great
- 47:03Speaker 13: deal on one.
- 47:03Speaker 12: So yeah, we got a new one.
- 47:05Speaker 4: You got a guy.
- 47:06Speaker 12: Now we got we got to We'll have one for
- 47:07Speaker 12: upstairs and one for downstairs.
- 47:09Speaker 4: You guys.
- 47:11Speaker 12: Yeah, we'll have one up for you.
- 47:13Speaker 13: Know, decorative purposes upstairs where everybody can see it, and
- 47:16Speaker 13: then we'll open the presidents downstairs.
- 47:17Speaker 12: There's more room to spread out.
- 47:18Speaker 4: Right now, I wouldn't be against it. I like the
- 47:20Speaker 4: smell though, of the trees.
- 47:21Speaker 12: See, that's why I hate real trees.
- 47:24Speaker 5: You don't like the smell.
- 47:25Speaker 12: Messing the smell, No, I don't like it.
- 47:28Speaker 5: I love the smell.
- 47:31Speaker 4: That's the only reason why I wouldn't get a fake tree.
- 47:33Speaker 5: Love the smell.
- 47:35Speaker 12: Just right into Like Jerry Seinfeld, It's like I love
- 47:38Speaker 12: the smell.
- 47:40Speaker 5: Who doesn't love the smell?
- 47:41Speaker 4: I love the dree. Yeah, we're gonna have to deal
- 47:45Speaker 4: with that soon though. It's always a.
- 47:47Speaker 5: So what what were we talking about before I interrupted?
- 47:49Speaker 12: Chicago?
- 47:50Speaker 13: I think Chicago was really good. I think they've gotten
- 47:52Speaker 13: a lot better. I don't think that they're worthy of
- 47:54Speaker 13: being the number one seed. I think the Patriots are
- 47:56Speaker 13: more worthy of being the number one seed in the
- 47:58Speaker 13: a f C than Chicago.
- 47:59Speaker 5: Is an I was telling Paul Stephen a came out
- 48:01Speaker 5: with his personal power rankings today. Who do you think
- 48:04Speaker 5: he had his number one?
- 48:06Speaker 4: Kansas City?
- 48:07Speaker 5: No, not even closed. And guess who was number two?
- 48:12Speaker 4: Rams?
- 48:13Speaker 5: The Patriots? Really? Yeah?
- 48:14Speaker 4: Okay, all right, yeah, I saw somebody say not a
- 48:17Speaker 4: bad guest though, Deuce. Now, but m where are they?
- 48:22Speaker 5: Well?
- 48:22Speaker 4: They lost, they lost. I don't know if you know
- 48:24Speaker 4: they're yeah, they're no more, no more, Matthew Stafford m
- 48:26Speaker 4: v P right, All right, back, thanks, anything else might
- 48:29Speaker 4: from the locker room. No, that's about it. Good, good
- 48:32Speaker 4: media contingent. Uh did not see Evan. I think he's
- 48:34Speaker 4: still working on getting ready for board, his big board thing.
- 48:37Speaker 5: So big day for Evan it is? It is all right?
- 48:40Speaker 5: Uh eight five five, pats five hundred. Let's get back
- 48:43Speaker 5: to it. DJs and Arizona. What's up? DJJ?
- 48:49Speaker 1: Hey, what's up? Everyone?
- 48:51Speaker 5: What up?
- 48:51Speaker 16: I really do love this channel.
- 48:53Speaker 17: I've been tuning in for about two weeks now and
- 48:56Speaker 17: been tuning in every single day.
- 48:58Speaker 8: Y'all talk about the great stuff.
- 48:59Speaker 17: Now, I will go over two things really fast that
- 49:03Speaker 17: Fred mentioned last night. Now, Paul, please don't get mad
- 49:07Speaker 17: at me for what I'm about to say.
- 49:09Speaker 12: I make no promises, I know you don't, No, I
- 49:14Speaker 12: got you. What do you got?
- 49:16Speaker 16: I really do think.
- 49:17Speaker 17: Now this is just a thought, but I think Hawkins
- 49:20Speaker 17: was going for that ball. It was stupid of him, yes,
- 49:23Speaker 17: to go straight head forward the way he was going,
- 49:27Speaker 17: because when you look at his hands, they look like
- 49:30Speaker 17: they were going for that ball. Now, granted he did
- 49:33Speaker 17: make the foul, so it was not a good play
- 49:36Speaker 17: in the end, but his mind was in the right place.
- 49:40Speaker 17: If he would have gotten that interception what they have
- 49:42Speaker 17: called it a penalty, I don't know. The second thing
- 49:46Speaker 17: is really quick. I think this team has to win
- 49:50Speaker 17: it all this year because we have so much going
- 49:53Speaker 17: for us. All these quote unquote good teams of the past,
- 49:56Speaker 17: they're playing so bad. They're doing so many small things
- 49:59Speaker 17: that that they that normally would allow them to win.
- 50:02Speaker 17: That's not allowing that this year. I'm not saying in
- 50:05Speaker 17: the future we won't win again, but we can capitalize
- 50:08Speaker 17: now because we have so much in our favor NF
- 50:11Speaker 17: and AFC base yep, and I.
- 50:13Speaker 5: Hope you have a blessed all right, thanks DJ.
- 50:15Speaker 12: I agree with that last part.
- 50:17Speaker 5: Well, I hear what he's saying about. There's a huge
- 50:20Speaker 5: opportunity in front of the Patriots right now that you
- 50:25Speaker 5: want to take advantage of. But this whole fear about
- 50:28Speaker 5: if they don't do it this year, then there's no
- 50:31Speaker 5: I'm not going there. I don't know what's going to
- 50:33Speaker 5: happen next year. Maybe will be much better. Yes, the
- 50:37Speaker 5: schedule is going to be better, but maybe it will
- 50:39Speaker 5: be much better. I don't know. I'm just worried about
- 50:41Speaker 5: this year. I hear too much about it. If they
- 50:43Speaker 5: don't do it this year, they won't be able to
- 50:45Speaker 5: do it next year.
- 50:46Speaker 12: Yeah. I wouldn't say that.
- 50:47Speaker 13: I wouldn't say they won't be able to do it whenever.
- 50:49Speaker 13: But this is a you're never going to have a
- 50:51Speaker 13: better opportunity in this.
- 50:53Speaker 5: Absolutely focus on this year. Don't worry about.
- 50:56Speaker 12: Good teams are all in trouble except us.
- 51:00Speaker 5: We're a good team.
- 51:01Speaker 12: That's not going to happen every year.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:03Speaker 4: Yep, Well I said I did to Paul on our
- 51:05Speaker 4: TV show. It's been kind of the big four in
- 51:07Speaker 4: the AFC quarterbacks, you know, Mahomes, Jel Lamar, Josh Allen,
- 51:12Speaker 4: Joe Burrow. You know, is there an opportunity out for
- 51:14Speaker 4: Drake May to enter that conversation of you know, I
- 51:17Speaker 4: think any one of those quarterbacks you have a lot
- 51:18Speaker 4: of respect for. I know the Bengals are down this year,
- 51:20Speaker 4: but the Bengals were in the playoffs. He had to
- 51:22Speaker 4: face Joe Burrow it had something and be like, oh,
- 51:24Speaker 4: no problem. I mean, you know, but can Drake get
- 51:26Speaker 4: into that conversation this year? And the thing about is
- 51:28Speaker 4: the thing the Drake May? You got Drake May next year?
- 51:30Speaker 5: I mean, well, the thing about the big four in
- 51:33Speaker 5: terms of the quarterback, they've all either won it or
- 51:35Speaker 5: gone deep in the playoffs, you know, to the AFC
- 51:37Speaker 5: Championship game, and Drake hasn't done that yet. Ye once
- 51:41Speaker 5: he does that, okay, he.
- 51:42Speaker 13: Looks like Stroud And I do think May has entered
- 51:46Speaker 13: that conversation.
- 51:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:47Speaker 13: Absolutely, And I had looked out like I mean, I
- 51:49Speaker 13: have Stroud firmly in that conversation I have for two
- 51:52Speaker 13: years now after the rookie year we had three years ago.
- 51:55Speaker 13: And I think that you looked at Houston this way,
- 51:57Speaker 13: looked like a different team, Like suddenly they're moving the
- 52:00Speaker 13: point I'm telling you go with that defense, They're a
- 52:03Speaker 13: team that you have to reckon with.
- 52:05Speaker 5: They're playing good football both sides of the ball right now.
- 52:08Speaker 4: Yeah, them and them in Denver. When you just think
- 52:10Speaker 4: about potential matchups going, you know, Drake against their defenses,
- 52:14Speaker 4: I mean both those defense Really.
- 52:16Speaker 13: I'm much more concerned about the team with a good
- 52:18Speaker 13: offense than I am with I'm not worried about Drake May.
- 52:22Speaker 12: I'm really not.
- 52:22Speaker 5: And I'm not worried about Josh McDaniels when it comes
- 52:25Speaker 5: to Denver's defense. I think he's got enough in his
- 52:28Speaker 5: tool belt with May and you know Hunter, you know
- 52:32Speaker 5: the tight ends, and I think there's enough to deal
- 52:35Speaker 5: with Denver. Now. It's probably gonna be in Denver because
- 52:38Speaker 5: even if the Patriots have the higher.
- 52:40Speaker 12: Seed, that's a good point.
- 52:42Speaker 5: Yeah, so you're gonna have to deal with that.
- 52:45Speaker 4: But well, you have the teams that the quarterbacks terrified.
- 52:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I think beat a good defense.
- 52:50Speaker 4: I mean, you know, c J. Stroud, all due respect,
- 52:52Speaker 4: doesn't terrify me yet. But you know, you have a
- 52:54Speaker 4: couple of teams with really good defenses. You probably have
- 52:56Speaker 4: some other teams that have some quarterbacks Indianapolis maybe a
- 53:00Speaker 4: run game with Jonathan Taylor that you really have to
- 53:02Speaker 4: think about. We'll see what Daniel Jones looks like. But
- 53:04Speaker 4: you know, just getting a sense of the different matchups.
- 53:06Speaker 13: I just feel like it's offense based, and I know
- 53:09Speaker 13: that I'm in the minority in this, and I know
- 53:10Speaker 13: people are going to throw different teams at me, and
- 53:13Speaker 13: I would just counter back. You know, even last year
- 53:17Speaker 13: Philly in Kansas City, both teams brought elite defenses to
- 53:21Speaker 13: the Super Bowl. One offense played at an elite level
- 53:24Speaker 13: and won the game going away. I know everybody's talks
- 53:27Speaker 13: about just the dominance at the line of scrimmage, and yeah,
- 53:31Speaker 13: one offense played well, one offense didn't.
- 53:34Speaker 12: That's how you win.
- 53:35Speaker 13: And I have confidence that Drake May is not going
- 53:39Speaker 13: to get shut down by a good defense.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Right.
- 53:42Speaker 13: Maybe I'm you know, maybe Fred's right, he hasn't done
- 53:45Speaker 13: it yet in the playoffs. Maybe I'm putting the cart
- 53:47Speaker 13: before the horse. I have a lot of confidence in
- 53:49Speaker 13: Drake May. I would much rather see a Denver defense
- 53:53Speaker 13: or a Houston defense than just the clicking on all
- 53:58Speaker 13: cylinders Patrick ma Homes Kansas City offense or of Josh
- 54:02Speaker 13: Allen Buffalo offense, like operating at extreme high level. And
- 54:08Speaker 13: now it's thirty eight thirty four. I don't want to
- 54:11Speaker 13: see that, but I'll take it if if you know
- 54:15Speaker 13: boat Nicks is playing and the Patriots only have to
- 54:17Speaker 13: get to twenty four. Yeah, I have all the confidence
- 54:20Speaker 13: in the world that Drake May is going to do that.
- 54:23Speaker 5: What's up, Todd?
- 54:26Speaker 8: Hey, guys, I just want to shoot a nasty rebuttal
- 54:29Speaker 8: to the guy up in Edmonton. He's just salty because
- 54:33Speaker 8: in the CFL, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, my team where I
- 54:36Speaker 8: grew up, won the Great Cup. And you know they
- 54:39Speaker 8: call in and complain about everybody from the gap.
- 54:41Speaker 18: That's just what they do.
- 54:43Speaker 8: Onto the game.
- 54:44Speaker 1: What is the game?
- 54:45Speaker 8: I was a little bit nervous because, yeah, it's the
- 54:48Speaker 8: it's the province that is between Manitoba and Alberta. They
- 54:51Speaker 8: call us gappers. We fill the gap between the two
- 54:56Speaker 8: provinces of what we do. Like anyway, what I saw
- 55:02Speaker 8: was I saw Gunzalas a couple of times grab his
- 55:05Speaker 8: leg and I'm just curious, do you guys think that
- 55:08Speaker 8: he might still be dealing with some issues there because
- 55:11Speaker 8: he seems, I don't know, a step slower than normal.
- 55:14Speaker 8: He did a great hit, but I just I just yeah, if.
- 55:18Speaker 5: Someone mentioned he got up a little slow after one play,
- 55:22Speaker 5: but I don't know.
- 55:22Speaker 13: I didn't really notice it, but it wouldn't surprise me
- 55:25Speaker 13: Todd if he would deal with the hamstrings. That's why
- 55:27Speaker 13: people hate those injuries so much, because they're really hard
- 55:30Speaker 13: to get rid of, especially for you know, skilled guys
- 55:34Speaker 13: that rely on their speed.
- 55:36Speaker 5: Now, thanks Todd, Let's go to Cole in Iowa. Hey, Cole, Hey, can.
- 55:43Speaker 19: You get your mirror?
- 55:44Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 55:45Speaker 19: Hey, I just want to start off saying thank you
- 55:48Speaker 19: guys for you know, staying up late last night with
- 55:51Speaker 19: the postgame show and then turn around and we get
- 55:53Speaker 19: a show again today. You guys are doing great work.
- 55:57Speaker 19: I hope you can take a little bit of time
- 55:59Speaker 19: this next week and bye. We can rest yourselves as
- 56:01Speaker 19: well and get ready for the postseason.
- 56:04Speaker 5: That's right, We've got to take care of ourselves too.
- 56:06Speaker 13: Mike and I were thinking about getting away together a
- 56:08Speaker 13: little bit, and we don't spend.
- 56:10Speaker 4: Enough time to induce on vacation.
- 56:11Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah, maybe a podcast.
- 56:20Speaker 19: Just the comments that I had was this, this team
- 56:24Speaker 19: just seems different, and I feel like we've seen it
- 56:27Speaker 19: now for quite a few weeks. All the guys are.
- 56:29Speaker 12: Just so tight.
- 56:30Speaker 19: They talk about it, how they're close with each other,
- 56:32Speaker 19: how this team fights for each other, and it has
- 56:37Speaker 19: to be Vrabel. Rabel's you know, thumb print on this
- 56:41Speaker 19: team is how much he's helped bond these players and
- 56:46Speaker 19: somehow he is a disciplinarian who is also like a
- 56:50Speaker 19: big brother to every single player on the team. I
- 56:52Speaker 19: think it's absolutely amazing and I am super thrilled. I
- 56:57Speaker 19: know that this team has probably one a few more
- 57:02Speaker 19: games than we expected at this point in the season,
- 57:06Speaker 19: but I think it's going to continue. And I think
- 57:10Speaker 19: they have to have the first round buy for one
- 57:13Speaker 19: reason and one reason only, and that's because the DVDs
- 57:17Speaker 19: are three games to glory, not.
- 57:19Speaker 5: For That's right. That's right, That's how it works. Thanks Carl,
- 57:23Speaker 5: appreciate the call. Let's go to Patty and Agoam. What's
- 57:28Speaker 5: up Patty?
- 57:30Speaker 16: Well, what's up, gents?
- 57:31Speaker 20: How are you doing this morning? I'm sorry this afternoon.
- 57:34Speaker 4: Good? How are you Patty? You recovered from last night?
- 57:38Speaker 16: Yeah, well I didn't.
- 57:39Speaker 20: I'm not doing any drinking until Christmas Eve because I
- 57:41Speaker 20: need to lose a little.
- 57:42Speaker 21: Bit of weight.
- 57:44Speaker 20: I'm just a little bit, you know, a little bit
- 57:47Speaker 20: weary because I didn't get much sleep because I stayed
- 57:49Speaker 20: up and I fell asleep to the postseason show. But
- 57:52Speaker 20: just a quick question. Do you think one of the
- 57:54Speaker 20: things that Brabile took away from playing for Bill Belichick
- 57:59Speaker 20: is the season starts after Thanksgiving? And do you think
- 58:02Speaker 20: that he's related that to the players, because if he has,
- 58:05Speaker 20: I mean, I can't wait for the spreads front pick
- 58:08Speaker 20: it off. There, you guys thank everything.
- 58:11Speaker 5: I mean, all cool coaches kind of say that Belichick
- 58:15Speaker 5: got it from Parcels, and Parcels got it from whoever
- 58:18Speaker 5: you know.
- 58:19Speaker 12: You know, going back to Cole's call.
- 58:22Speaker 13: In Iowa, I couldn't agree more about the credit that
- 58:26Speaker 13: ghost of Rabel for bonding this team. I've said this
- 58:29Speaker 13: a few times now, and it just becomes more and
- 58:32Speaker 13: more apparent just how connected they are as a team.
- 58:35Speaker 13: Every you know, Mike came in and they talked about
- 58:37Speaker 13: Chase on today in the locker room. It's the most
- 58:40Speaker 13: funny he's had on a team. It's most you know,
- 58:43Speaker 13: the community service work that they do that doing it together.
- 58:46Speaker 13: Rabel mentioned on his press conference today how excited everybody.
- 58:50Speaker 12: Is when someone else makes a play.
- 58:52Speaker 13: It's Kyle Williams catching a touchdown last night, and it's
- 58:55Speaker 13: the whole receiving core and the whole team being just
- 58:58Speaker 13: as excited as they would be if they are the
- 59:00Speaker 13: ones they caught the touchdown. I don't think all teams
- 59:03Speaker 13: are like that. Fred brought up a point about when
- 59:06Speaker 13: we were talking about the NFC thing with Chicago, Philadelphia
- 59:09Speaker 13: might be spiraling a little bit. Some of the problems
- 59:11Speaker 13: that Philadelphia has is related to that. Oh yeah, they're
- 59:14Speaker 13: not as connected as they they were, certainly in the
- 59:17Speaker 13: Stretch Driver and in the playoffs last year. And it
- 59:20Speaker 13: shows that's when the talent isn't necessarily getting, you know,
- 59:25Speaker 13: fulfilling its potential.
- 59:26Speaker 4: Yep, it's what is Its just been the most interesting
- 59:29Speaker 4: see with Mike Freber. We knew him as a player,
- 59:31Speaker 4: and I loved him as a player, and he was
- 59:33Speaker 4: but he was a hard ass and a jerk to
- 59:35Speaker 4: play against. And I love that about him that he
- 59:37Speaker 4: just had this edge to him. And when he got here,
- 59:40Speaker 4: the way he talks about the players off the field,
- 59:43Speaker 4: the family members that the players value, and it's just
- 59:47Speaker 4: I mean, I don't want to say surprising, because I
- 59:48Speaker 4: didn't really judge him, but you just think, like, oh,
- 59:51Speaker 4: he's kind of a hardcore football player. He's going to
- 59:53Speaker 4: come in as a coach and kind of be a
- 59:55Speaker 4: little bit more on the parcels end of the you know,
- 59:57Speaker 4: don't want to cross him, and he's got a sharp tongue.
- 59:59Speaker 4: And but the side of him that he's shown of
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: caring about his players as people. I think that to
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: me has just been something that right from the get go,
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: when he got here talking about his parents being teachers
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: and that educator part of him that just comes through.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: I just that that, to me has been completely unexpected.
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: I really like the tough guy that he is and that,
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: but we didn't.
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: See that part of him when he was here. We
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: saw that the smart ass, the tough guy, the guy
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: that would get under your skin, always needling and everything
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: like that. But we didn't see, you know, let's face it,
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: the softer side to him, the caring about, you know,
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: your brother side of him. And you know, one of
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: the things he said here when he first came is
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: not only get to know each other, and you get
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: to know everybody in the building because they're all here
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: to help you. And he made that point like on
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: day one, and it's I don't know, maybe all coaches
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: do it.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: You don't hear it though, No, Well, it feels real
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: to me with him like it never felt forced. I
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: mean he talks about carry about the players, or even
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: when he talks about real football, like when he gets
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: into what he knows, like you could just tell he's
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: very comfortable with it. And I just I don't find
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: it surprising that football players respect him because he did
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: it as a player, and he's a tough guy, and
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: he's got a sharp tongue and you know, he's funny
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: and he can get you laughing. But at the same time,
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: I think everybody acknowledges that he seems to really care
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: about these guys.
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: All Right, we're gonna take a break. When we come back,
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: more calls and emails. Everything's lit up like a Christmas tree.

- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I are you great?
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: How much did you and the team just kind of
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: feed off the energy? You guys came out with a
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: lot of energy too.
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: Well where did that come from?
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: And what was that like? To watch all three phases
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: kind of take it to them from the start.
- 1:03:50Speaker 9: Think it's start with coach saying, no naps, you don't
- 1:03:51Speaker 9: want to come my airp and star fast. And we
- 1:03:53Speaker 9: know this team has been up in a lot of
- 1:03:55Speaker 9: games and they have good players over there, they have
- 1:03:57Speaker 9: some good talent and we wanted to try to get
- 1:03:59Speaker 9: on fast. And you know Marcus helped us with that.
- 1:04:02Speaker 9: You know, what a what a what a return for him?
- 1:04:04Speaker 9: And you have the kickoff return, I mean kickoff coverage.
- 1:04:07Speaker 9: I mean, I think just all phases of the game
- 1:04:09Speaker 9: showed up at different points. And I still think offensively
- 1:04:11Speaker 9: in the second half, we got to put some more
- 1:04:12Speaker 9: drives together to he'll put the game out of reach.
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: Great Drake.
- 1:04:18Speaker 13: Coach Rabel just said that you're realizing what you can
- 1:04:21Speaker 13: be and the impact that you make on the offense.
- 1:04:23Speaker 12: What is that to you?
- 1:04:27Speaker 9: Shoot just trying to be trying to be the face,
- 1:04:29Speaker 9: trying to be the conductor, he followed, the conductor of
- 1:04:31Speaker 9: the offense. You're trying to be the face of the offense,
- 1:04:33Speaker 9: trying to you'll want to want the want the pressure,
- 1:04:36Speaker 9: you want to you know, the ball in my hands,
- 1:04:38Speaker 9: and I've he'll try to show that all year and
- 1:04:40Speaker 9: and throughout my career. So that's what you know, I
- 1:04:43Speaker 9: kind of feel like and I know they feed off
- 1:04:45Speaker 9: of me and feed off my energy and feed off
- 1:04:46Speaker 9: of you know, what I say to those guys, and
- 1:04:49Speaker 9: what I say you'll mean something to them. So just uh,
- 1:04:51Speaker 9: you'll know me when aversity hits, you know, I got
- 1:04:53Speaker 9: to respond and from there, I just got to be,
- 1:04:55Speaker 9: you know, the same guy, the same guy every day.
- 1:04:57Speaker 9: You know, don't try to change and just be my elf,
- 1:05:00Speaker 9: that's what the guys you like the most.
- 1:05:01Speaker 25: So ert solo, I was just gonna stay on coach Rabel.
- 1:05:05Speaker 12: You hear those MVP chants a lot, whether you hear
- 1:05:07Speaker 12: them or not, they're there.
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: Do you think he's mounting maybe a campaign.
- 1:05:10Speaker 25: For Coach of the year.
- 1:05:12Speaker 18: Yeah, he also promised to shave the mustache.
- 1:05:15Speaker 12: Are you happy or said about it exactly?
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: I thought it was good.
- 1:05:17Speaker 9: I think it was for a great cause. I think
- 1:05:19Speaker 9: he uh man, I think you know the awards the
- 1:05:22Speaker 9: probably say the same thing. He's worried about each and
- 1:05:24Speaker 9: every week, and that stuff will come. But you know,
- 1:05:27Speaker 9: he's got my vote, and he's got a lot of
- 1:05:29Speaker 9: people's vote. He's everybody's vote. You know this organization, and
- 1:05:32Speaker 9: you know in that locker room and I'm sure across
- 1:05:34Speaker 9: the league.
- 1:05:35Speaker 26: Por uh your coach reference, they hit the other quarterback
- 1:05:39Speaker 26: got and playing through the whistle, and he intimated that
- 1:05:43Speaker 26: that that might have been a subtle reminder to you
- 1:05:46Speaker 26: on certain plays on being careful about being taken down hard. Uh. So,
- 1:05:51Speaker 26: I guess two quick questions, Uh, did that resonate with
- 1:05:53Speaker 26: you in any fashion? And was there any winking or
- 1:05:56Speaker 26: right contact from your coach after that play.
- 1:05:59Speaker 9: I think it's uh, you know something that that's been
- 1:06:02Speaker 9: across the league that showed up with with quarterbacks near
- 1:06:04Speaker 9: the boundary or near the sideline, just kind of relaxing
- 1:06:08Speaker 9: and and uh, I think I learned last year the Chargers,
- 1:06:11Speaker 9: I had one of the same sideline over there.
- 1:06:12Speaker 12: I got smacked on the sideline.
- 1:06:15Speaker 9: So just be smart and know you almost got to
- 1:06:17Speaker 9: accelerate or get down or you know, do something over there.
- 1:06:20Speaker 9: But I think you know, Jackson h makes some good
- 1:06:23Speaker 9: plays at his feet, so he's tough to he's tough
- 1:06:25Speaker 9: to handle.
- 1:06:26Speaker 26: Your coach didn't look at you and give you one
- 1:06:28Speaker 26: of these or anything like that.
- 1:06:29Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't think you needed I don't think you
- 1:06:30Speaker 9: need to.
- 1:06:31Speaker 12: You heard the hit sideline, so I think everybody in
- 1:06:33Speaker 12: the stadium knew.
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: Andrew Callahan on the left, Hey Drake, Uh, excuse me.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Just as far as tonight, you know what went as
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: planned and what might have surprised you if anything, I
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: think starting fast.
- 1:06:46Speaker 9: I think starting fast when is planned, that's what we
- 1:06:48Speaker 9: wanted to do. I think, uh, you have some play
- 1:06:50Speaker 9: designs that that coach had and uh, we practiced all
- 1:06:52Speaker 9: week that that worked and you know, I think that
- 1:06:55Speaker 9: that's the biggest thing is that you knew they had
- 1:06:57Speaker 9: the new coordinator calling it for the first time, so
- 1:06:59Speaker 9: they're gon bring something, some stuff that we didn't expect.
- 1:07:02Speaker 9: And I think we tried to handle the guys up front.
- 1:07:04Speaker 9: They got a great rush, great players up front. I
- 1:07:06Speaker 9: thought the guys did that all night. The one sact
- 1:07:08Speaker 9: we had was my fault, and I think from there,
- 1:07:12Speaker 9: I think this coach saying no naps, I think we
- 1:07:14Speaker 9: need to do a better job and second half of uh,
- 1:07:17Speaker 9: you know, living that and you'll put them out of
- 1:07:19Speaker 9: reach and getting in across midfield and putting the drive together.
- 1:07:22Speaker 12: Score touchdown.
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: Hey, Drake, backups today left tackle and left guard.
- 1:07:27Speaker 26: What was the key for you guys on offense to
- 1:07:29Speaker 26: kind of minimize that impact?
- 1:07:30Speaker 12: I guess to full faith them.
- 1:07:32Speaker 9: You know, we got a lot of reps last year
- 1:07:33Speaker 9: of dropping back and you'll trust those guys. And I
- 1:07:36Speaker 9: think they're great players and they've stepped up. Like I
- 1:07:39Speaker 9: said in pre game, I think they stepped up all year.
- 1:07:41Speaker 9: You know, anybody's been thrown in the fire, and.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Just proud of them.
- 1:07:43Speaker 9: Proud of them for you working hard and learning this offense.
- 1:07:46Speaker 9: And you know, staying on the same page and be
- 1:07:48Speaker 9: on the same page all night and doing a great
- 1:07:50Speaker 9: job tonight.
- 1:07:51Speaker 27: Well seagull Drake sort of a two prime question. How
- 1:07:54Speaker 27: cognizant were you guys of the buy and wanting to
- 1:07:58Speaker 27: win going into the buy and can they How much
- 1:08:01Speaker 27: of a need is this game in need of this
- 1:08:03Speaker 27: buy for both the physical and mental standpoint.
- 1:08:06Speaker 9: Yeah, I think you'll want to win before the bye
- 1:08:09Speaker 9: You're trying to you know, want to win every game,
- 1:08:11Speaker 9: and I know it's uh maybe you know, kind of
- 1:08:13Speaker 9: don't want to leave off on the buy on the
- 1:08:15Speaker 9: back foot with a whole Monday night game. So I
- 1:08:17Speaker 9: think it was important for us to you'll play on
- 1:08:19Speaker 9: Monday night and you know, shove up for for our fans,
- 1:08:22Speaker 9: and you know, it was a game that we didn't
- 1:08:24Speaker 9: want to take lightly, and I think the guys did
- 1:08:25Speaker 9: Dad probably those guys for that. And then, uh, you know,
- 1:08:27Speaker 9: bye week's huge. It felt like a long time coming,
- 1:08:29Speaker 9: but uh, you know we're here and you have some
- 1:08:31Speaker 9: important football after the bye week, so we're looking forward
- 1:08:33Speaker 9: to you'll stay in and getting healthy and having guys
- 1:08:36Speaker 9: you'll want to get better, and I'm looking forward to
- 1:08:38Speaker 9: you'll get some guys back and then make a you'll
- 1:08:41Speaker 9: make a push. When football you gonna start to count
- 1:08:43Speaker 9: down the.
- 1:08:44Speaker 28: Road here, Drake, Have you ever been on this kind
- 1:08:49Speaker 28: of role in either this sport or any other sport?
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: Whops?
- 1:08:54Speaker 25: Golf?
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: Uh?
- 1:08:56Speaker 9: Oh, I like that and my brothers. Yeah this summer
- 1:08:58Speaker 9: I was on a roll a little bit. No, but
- 1:09:00Speaker 9: I think you're back in high school? Should we we
- 1:09:03Speaker 9: won thirteen straight? But you know, really I think, you know,
- 1:09:08Speaker 9: in college, I think we may have won eight or
- 1:09:10Speaker 9: nine straight. Yeah, football, you know, both in football, but no,
- 1:09:13Speaker 9: this is this is the different beasts in the NFL.
- 1:09:15Speaker 12: So see me personally. What do you mean by that?
- 1:09:20Speaker 26: Oh?
- 1:09:21Speaker 9: My play?
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: Oh with uh?
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Darren? Sorry, I don't know what you're asking you?
- 1:09:26Speaker 17: You kind of backboning pens wins?
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Oh? Should I wish urs?
- 1:09:35Speaker 9: It was all me A lot of people in this
- 1:09:37Speaker 9: this locker room issoriation that that play, you know, a
- 1:09:39Speaker 9: big role in us winning games and should just like you,
- 1:09:42Speaker 9: you know, showing up every day and making funny off
- 1:09:45Speaker 9: of being in the locker room on a Friday asking
- 1:09:47Speaker 9: us questions at the practice. You know, these guys are
- 1:09:48Speaker 9: the same thing. They show up every day, and you
- 1:09:50Speaker 9: know they want to get better. And I think it
- 1:09:52Speaker 9: was proud of the guys from this team we have
- 1:09:53Speaker 9: and I love being around them.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: Your five question, Yeah.
- 1:09:56Speaker 9: Drake, they score to make a two possession game, so
- 1:10:00Speaker 9: it was already discussion going into your final drive just
- 1:10:03Speaker 9: to ice the game. Yeah, it was, Uh, it was big.
- 1:10:05Speaker 9: You know, it was big in the in the second half.
- 1:10:07Speaker 9: You knew that they got a you know, a good
- 1:10:09Speaker 9: offense and you can move the ball. So we had
- 1:10:11Speaker 9: to put a growd together and put one down at
- 1:10:12Speaker 9: the end of your field goal. And like I said,
- 1:10:14Speaker 9: we won't be satisfied with that. You got to try
- 1:10:16Speaker 9: to punch it in. You'll get the game really out
- 1:10:17Speaker 9: of reach. But you know, defense has been made big
- 1:10:19Speaker 9: stops in the fourth quarter all year long.
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: And you're just proud of these guys.
- 1:10:23Speaker 9: And like I said, and you know, good Lord is
- 1:10:25Speaker 9: uh the tree is right and we got to keep going.
- 1:10:27Speaker 12: So thank you, guys, Thank.
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: You, and now great moments in.
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: History.
- 1:10:37Speaker 29: I just don't want to race out to a lead
- 1:10:39Speaker 29: and you know, get your whole Brady right touchdown you know,
- 1:10:43Speaker 29: fourth quarter you're up like fourteen or saying that touchdown, touchdown,
- 1:10:48Speaker 29: like ah no, like here.
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: And that's what he's done to so many teams.
- 1:10:51Speaker 29: And you understand how maddening it is when you think
- 1:10:54Speaker 29: you got them the whole game and then all of
- 1:10:56Speaker 29: a sudden, it just clicks and it's like, oh, they
- 1:10:58Speaker 29: just want berserker mode and you can't stop them.
- 1:11:00Speaker 12: This cracks me up. I just don't want to have
- 1:11:02Speaker 12: a lead and have him break my heart.
- 1:11:04Speaker 5: I don't want I don't want to go through another
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: twelve season.
- 1:11:10Speaker 29: You're gonna see me kidnapping them after the game, like
- 1:11:12Speaker 29: bringing them back.
- 1:11:16Speaker 12: What we are on the radio.

- 1:11:46Speaker 5: stop in or shop online at Bob's Discount Furniture, the
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: official furniture store of the New England Patriots. Did you
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: guys do any Black Friday or Cyber Monday shopping?
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: No?
- 1:11:57Speaker 12: No, no, I did a little did you did a
- 1:11:59Speaker 12: little little Christmas shop? And for the wife?
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: I probably should have, but it's too locked in on
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: the game, okay, focusing Thanksgiving and all.
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: All right, okay, yeah Doorbusters, what are your friends? No,
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: I mean, I certainly didn't go anywhere, but I did
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: a little online stuff.
- 1:12:16Speaker 12: I got a couple of little things.
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: Yeah, find the deals usually kind of hold up, Like,
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: I don't know, I haven't seen a lot of just
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: for Friday. It seems like, like you said, like now
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: it's like Cyber Week, and you know it kind of
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: drags on beyond this with you. Well, I don't feel
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: the same pressure.
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: I tell you it's always happened, but it's getting worse
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: than ever. Is these stores jacking up the price only
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: to put it on sale at what it should be
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: or a little bit more than what it should be.
- 1:12:46Speaker 5: I won't name the store, but I caught them red handed.
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I saw a video of somebody catching them
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: red handed. Like the TV. There's like a TV with
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: a over it.
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: They had to stick upon that you no, no, no,
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: I know. This is when I personally saw you know scam.
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: It was a clothing store, so anyway. But I think
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: that's CRAPCMA.
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: Well, I think it's all generally crap, which sounds like, uh,
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: somebody pointed out the coffee thing to me. Now, like
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: the coffee cups, if you stick your finger under the
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: coffee cup, it goes up a lot farther now, like
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: you're just you're getting like the chicken breasts. Used to
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: get three chicken breasts in a pack, now it's two.
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: Like I just feel like you're getting less for more now.
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and you go to buy little things like that,
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: that's how they're getting I mean, I know, I saw
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: the numbers from last week where yeah, spent more spending,
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: but people are getting less stuff. So it just feels
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: to me like across the board right now that everything
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: you're getting.
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: Less for more everywhere getting screwed.
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: Yeah it's a pizza time, they give you more.
- 1:13:43Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, Back to the phone, S eight five
- 1:13:45Speaker 5: to five PATS five hundred is the hot line. Let's
- 1:13:48Speaker 5: go to Chris with a T, I A N. What's
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: up Christian?
- 1:13:54Speaker 14: Hey guys, this is just incredible. I mean, you know,
- 1:13:59Speaker 14: and and I think the biggest thing for me when
- 1:14:02Speaker 14: I when I look at the team, whether it's free
- 1:14:05Speaker 14: agents or draft picks. Almost everybody that they have acquired
- 1:14:11Speaker 14: is contributing and making a play one week or the
- 1:14:14Speaker 14: next week. And I you know, and I know that
- 1:14:18Speaker 14: you get that year um bump as all Paul always
- 1:14:20Speaker 14: says from the free agent signings and that it's really
- 1:14:22Speaker 14: like year two or year three where a lot of
- 1:14:25Speaker 14: the guys kind of fall off. But in addition to
- 1:14:28Speaker 14: just everybody buying into the program, which they clearly have,
- 1:14:32Speaker 14: it's so much fun to watch this team every week
- 1:14:34Speaker 14: because I'm waiting for like another guy to make a play,
- 1:14:36Speaker 14: Like Kyle Williams has done more with two touchdown catches
- 1:14:41Speaker 14: than like all the high receivers of Patriots were drafted
- 1:14:43Speaker 14: in like the past decade and just two plays. And
- 1:14:46Speaker 14: so it's just so exciting. And I think whanted to
- 1:14:49Speaker 14: get your thoughts on this. Is this the most team
- 1:14:53Speaker 14: speed that the Patriots have had in a long time,
- 1:14:56Speaker 14: because it seems like they got a bunch of guys
- 1:14:59Speaker 14: that can fly. And I'll take it off there, Okay.
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: Thanks, team speed both sides of the ball.
- 1:15:06Speaker 14: I do.
- 1:15:07Speaker 13: I do think they have increased their team speed significantly.
- 1:15:09Speaker 13: It kind of reminds me of what they tried to
- 1:15:11Speaker 13: do in that draft class that they just hit on
- 1:15:13Speaker 13: any of them.
- 1:15:14Speaker 12: But they you know, the.
- 1:15:15Speaker 13: Taekwon, Thornton, Pierre Strong, you know that a lot of
- 1:15:17Speaker 13: fast guys in that draft. They just didn't hit on
- 1:15:19Speaker 13: any of them. This team is Christian's right, This is team.
- 1:15:22Speaker 13: This team is significantly faster.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: Yea.
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: It shows up to me on defense, just more attacking style.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: And they just even if they're not faster, they look
- 1:15:30Speaker 4: faster because they're not doing as much too gapping and
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: that kind of thing. But just the linebackers on the
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: second level with Spallane and Elis and you know even Gibbons,
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: like those guys, they really rally to the ball. I
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: think that that's to me where I see them the
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: most speed difference. But offensively I didn't. Offensively is a different.
- 1:15:48Speaker 13: I think the guys you know, like you know, Diggs
- 1:15:51Speaker 13: is so quick, Yeah, Kyle Williams obviously is fast. Pop
- 1:15:54Speaker 13: Douglas is so quick, you know, And those guys have
- 1:15:57Speaker 13: been the the ones that have been standing out to me,
- 1:16:00Speaker 13: you know, after the catch that you know that they're
- 1:16:03Speaker 13: making you Travon, yeah Henderson as they probably Yeah, they've
- 1:16:11Speaker 13: increased the team speed no doubt, it's good observation from
- 1:16:15Speaker 13: Christian just.
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: The quick strike downfield. I mean, whether it's Henderson with
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: the big plays that he's had a few times, or
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: as we can't stop talking about Drake's uncanny ability to
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: throw the ball down the field and just how much
- 1:16:26Speaker 4: that completely changes the dynamic of the offense. It's just
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: not something that you could have really predicted, but it's
- 1:16:32Speaker 4: really offset a lot of their issues I think that
- 1:16:34Speaker 4: they've had, and I just the level of confidence that
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: Drake plays would throw in those deep balls. It's it's unbelievable.
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: I just I've never seen anything quite like it.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: Darius from Louisville says he was doing some research and
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: was wondering if we all knew that we've been to
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: a Super Bowl once every decade since the seventies, so
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: according to the universe, we should make a Super Bowl
- 1:16:55Speaker 5: within the next four years. Well, we weren't in the seventies,
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: in the Super Bowl.
- 1:16:59Speaker 12: Eighties nine, these two thousand, in the.
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: Then right pretty much every other year twenty years. But
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: he's right, I've thought about that, you know, in that
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: the Patriots have made some playoff runs in each decade
- 1:17:13Speaker 4: and he gets kind of overshadowed by the success of
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: two thousand and one to two thousand and you know,
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: eighteen nineteen. But they have, they've they've made some Super
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: Bowl runs. They were kind of due. I mean this
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: this even getting to this year. When Vrabel came here,
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: I was like, this is year five of this decade.
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: Is this going to be a lost decade in terms of,
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: you know, playoffs? Because even those bad Patriots seems that
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: bottomed down and around nineteen ninety ninety one they still
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: on the other side of that had some success.
- 1:17:38Speaker 5: Yep, here we go, Here we go, Bear's Patriots forty
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: years that'd be crazy. Let's go to Caesar in Brazil.
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: What's up? Caesar? Caesar in Brazil? All right, well, Abracado.
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: Eldred's in North Carolina. What's up? Eldred?
- 1:18:06Speaker 12: I have a feeling.
- 1:18:07Speaker 18: I know, hey, fell how y'all doing?
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: How are you?
- 1:18:11Speaker 16: Hey?
- 1:18:11Speaker 8: Man?
- 1:18:12Speaker 18: I am shocked, ye I floor. My ceiling was six wins.
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: And I mean takes a big man to admit that, Elder,
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: because everybody's taking victory laughs right now.
- 1:18:22Speaker 12: Yeah, a lot of our callers are taking victory.
- 1:18:25Speaker 18: Yeah, I guess they are.
- 1:18:28Speaker 17: Paul y'all cracked me up last night.
- 1:18:31Speaker 18: But I couldn't get on the phone because this morning. Uh, Fred,
- 1:18:35Speaker 18: Yeah right, I got disagree with you because I used
- 1:18:41Speaker 18: to play deep in the back. That shouldn't have been called.
- 1:18:44Speaker 12: Wow ho for the ball.
- 1:18:45Speaker 18: But but but you're, like I said, you're like somebody
- 1:18:48Speaker 18: tackling and how they try to go down and load
- 1:18:50Speaker 18: the tackle, but the guy slips all sliding down, the
- 1:18:53Speaker 18: ye receiver sliding down, just how his head bumped him.
- 1:18:56Speaker 18: That he was going for the ball shouldn't have been called.
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: I'm not saying it shouldn't have been called, but I'm
- 1:19:00Speaker 5: just saying that he was going for the ball and
- 1:19:03Speaker 5: was following.
- 1:19:04Speaker 13: Just running with your palms up, and you're absolved of
- 1:19:07Speaker 13: all responsibilities for a headshot.
- 1:19:08Speaker 5: I didn't say it shouldn't have been I didn't say
- 1:19:10Speaker 5: you said.
- 1:19:11Speaker 18: That, No, Fred, Paul, I said it because, like I said, Paul,
- 1:19:17Speaker 18: long gravity, when you're coming down, he's coming down to
- 1:19:20Speaker 18: He admitted.
- 1:19:21Speaker 12: Yeah, if the defensive bat was going up.
- 1:19:24Speaker 18: Jump, I know what I'm saying.
- 1:19:26Speaker 12: Head first wasn't.
- 1:19:29Speaker 5: Okay?
- 1:19:29Speaker 16: Okay, you was growing up.
- 1:19:30Speaker 18: The guy was coming down the jump women at the
- 1:19:32Speaker 18: same time, it never would have been called okay grand
- 1:19:37Speaker 18: mother than that. I'm gonna ride there and I'm like
- 1:19:43Speaker 18: everybody else, man, if they look up and go further
- 1:19:47Speaker 18: than with Washington did last year, I got my cigar
- 1:19:50Speaker 18: and I'm talking trash again. But y'all have a good one.
- 1:19:52Speaker 17: Love talking to you.
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: All right, Thank you, Alfred.
- 1:19:55Speaker 13: For sure we were gonna get an a d Mitchell's
- 1:19:59Speaker 13: So so far, is this more remarkable or the same
- 1:20:03Speaker 13: or less than what the Commanders did last year? I
- 1:20:07Speaker 13: think it's the same the same. It's it's exactly what
- 1:20:11Speaker 13: Washington did last year. Yeah, I mean, like out of nowhere,
- 1:20:14Speaker 13: like four win team, same thing. The only difference is
- 1:20:19Speaker 13: Daniels was a rookie quarterback and May is in his
- 1:20:21Speaker 13: second year.
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:20:22Speaker 13: So if you want to call there, you know, Washington
- 1:20:25Speaker 13: more impressive, I wouldn't.
- 1:20:26Speaker 12: I think they're the same.
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: Yeah, But to me, what divine that season was. They're
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: running the playoffs too, you know.
- 1:20:32Speaker 5: Yeah, but that's why I set up to now, Yeah,
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: because obviously they got deep into the playoffs.
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: I mean, I think there's something to learn from that too.
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: Of you know, leaned on some free agents, had good
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: injury luck, and you know, you just like what I like, and.
- 1:20:47Speaker 12: I is you don't have to have a soft schedule.
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, but you have to know you're gonna
- 1:20:52Speaker 4: have to be better next year. But I at least
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: feel really good about the program the Mike Rabel's put
- 1:20:57Speaker 4: in place, and that they have the pieces here now
- 1:21:00Speaker 4: you don't have to worry about establishing the culture. You
- 1:21:02Speaker 4: hope that with all the pieces they have that you're
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: gonna be able to carry that back and you're able
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: to take some talented guys now hopefully some talented rookies
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: and welcome them into the fold and you know, continue
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: to build.
- 1:21:12Speaker 5: But they built the foundation. They got the coach and
- 1:21:14Speaker 5: the quarter quarterback.
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: Quarterback, you know, I mean, Jade Dale has been hurt
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: this year, you know, so you know that that can
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: happen too. But yeah, they got to be ready for.
- 1:21:23Speaker 5: Kyle and Pembroke. Last night was really fun, especially seeing
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: how upset the Giants tight end kept getting. Was that
- 1:21:30Speaker 5: what was going on there?
- 1:21:31Speaker 13: I don't know that he was the one that came
- 1:21:33Speaker 13: over and took exception to the LS hit. I didn't
- 1:21:35Speaker 13: really notice him being upset any other after other than
- 1:21:39Speaker 13: that himself for dropping touchdowns which I saw that when
- 1:21:41Speaker 13: he punched the ground after he dropped the touchdown that
- 1:21:43Speaker 13: would have made it seventeenth.
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: Mikey the not great guy.
- 1:21:46Speaker 12: I was all over.
- 1:21:47Speaker 13: Mic and go, yeah, this is the guy that you
- 1:21:48Speaker 13: said we should be worried about.
- 1:21:50Speaker 5: Now that we're at the bye Who is your current
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: Patriots and he's got a couple of questions. Offensive player
- 1:21:56Speaker 5: of the year, who's not may.
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: Shoot Hunter Henry.
- 1:22:03Speaker 12: I would go Hunter Henry.
- 1:22:04Speaker 5: Yeah, probably Henry.
- 1:22:05Speaker 12: That's a good pick.
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: Daily solid.
- 1:22:07Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, although Booty, you know, like big plays. Who
- 1:22:12Speaker 5: is your defensive player of the year for the Patriots.
- 1:22:16Speaker 4: I mean I might have said Milton Williams honestly, yeah,
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: before he got hurt.
- 1:22:20Speaker 13: I would probably stay with Milton Williams.
- 1:22:27Speaker 12: I don't know, maybe Splaine and.
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: I was thinkings Splain too just I mean he kind
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: of saw these like really good run defense, every down
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: kind of guy.
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: But and then Rookie of the Year.
- 1:22:40Speaker 12: Probably Campbell.
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:22:43Speaker 13: I don't really like I think that they've had They've
- 1:22:46Speaker 13: gotten contributions from from all the rookies. I don't think
- 1:22:49Speaker 13: anyone's really stood out. I would say Campbell's probably been
- 1:22:53Speaker 13: the best.
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: I want to know what the coaches staff say, Like
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: what do they really think of Woodston? Like how you
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: know he's just one of those guys that he don't
- 1:22:59Speaker 4: really acknowledge. Yeah, he doesn't you know he's out there
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: or a player who's Yeah.
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: So assuming that Campbell misses this stretch, and I would
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: say that if I had to pick a rookie of
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: the year, I'd pick Henderson only because like, they're down,
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: they were down to two backs and for a couple
- 1:23:19Speaker 5: of weeks he was the only real viable back they had.
- 1:23:22Speaker 5: And like he hasn't blown up the place, but he's
- 1:23:26Speaker 5: been okay, he's got he's held down the fort at
- 1:23:30Speaker 5: the running back position.
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: I mean, how would you stack the rookie how would
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: you stack them up compared to other rookie running backs
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: you've seen come through here over the last twenty years.
- 1:23:38Speaker 13: I mean it's like, oh, that's hard because Bill never
- 1:23:42Speaker 13: let the rookies do anything right. You know, like Port
- 1:23:45Speaker 13: Verashwan's Romander Stevenson fumbled in his first game and we
- 1:23:48Speaker 13: didn't se him until the middle of October.
- 1:23:50Speaker 12: Yeah, you know, like Ridley right, same thing.
- 1:23:53Speaker 13: You know, It just I don't know, it's hard to
- 1:23:55Speaker 13: compare them to any other, and then a.
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: Lot of rookies that came in kind of got red
- 1:23:59Speaker 5: shirt and Sony were here before them that were better.
- 1:24:02Speaker 13: Soorny Michelle had had a pretty decent rookie year. Yeah,
- 1:24:07Speaker 13: a lot more opportunities than Henderson had in terms of Tari's.
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: But I don't know, would you say, I mean Travon Henderson,
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: I mean to the point of that you were making.
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: But James White, you know, like James White, great player,
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: didn't really play much as his rookie year was Bill
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: was young players. Yeah, yeah, interesting.
- 1:24:24Speaker 12: He did the same thing to Faren Yeah, Verene red
- 1:24:27Speaker 12: shirted too.
- 1:24:29Speaker 5: Yeah, So I I would like, I said, assuming Campbell's
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: gonna miss these games, I would pick Henderson.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: I mean, I think all these guys have have made contributions.
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: You know, I think any one of them is valid.
- 1:24:42Speaker 12: Let's say again, I don't know what's going to happen.
- 1:24:44Speaker 5: What about Bora Gallis going from the thirties set the
- 1:24:46Speaker 5: franchise record for a rookie. You found that crazy.
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: I found that crazy. He's like, but you know when
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: he was two thousand and six and then I was like.
- 1:24:54Speaker 13: I found the prototypical kickers to have a lot of points.
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: I had to do some math because it was like, no,
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: that was those six and they were kind of bad
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: that year offensively, but then on the next year. I mean,
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: I don't know what the point total was the next year,
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: but I'm sure Goskowski like probably led the league in
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: O seven with all the extra points he was kicking.
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: So I just thought it was interesting. Didn't really occur
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: to me that he had been kicking that many field goals.
- 1:25:18Speaker 5: But yeah, Mike's in Florida. Hey, Mike.
- 1:25:24Speaker 21: New Fellows, thanks for taking my call.
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: Sure, Mike.
- 1:25:28Speaker 7: So I'm going to preface everything I say with the
- 1:25:31Speaker 7: fact that I'm very excited about what Rabel's been doing
- 1:25:34Speaker 7: and the energy he's created and how he's gotten everybody
- 1:25:38Speaker 7: to buy in.
- 1:25:39Speaker 16: But I do have a concern.
- 1:25:41Speaker 7: Yeah, but are we getting too excited over a win
- 1:25:45Speaker 7: over a two to ten team at home?
- 1:25:48Speaker 17: Like the Giants didn't.
- 1:25:49Speaker 7: Have Thibodeau abdu Carter was sat out the first quarter
- 1:25:53Speaker 7: for god knows what a reason. There was a coach
- 1:25:55Speaker 7: OF's decision.
- 1:25:56Speaker 21: They said.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: I just.
- 1:26:00Speaker 7: Don't get me wrong, but sometimes I feel like we
- 1:26:03Speaker 7: read into these wins over bad teams more than they're
- 1:26:07Speaker 7: really worth. Does that resonate with you guys?
- 1:26:11Speaker 21: Do you kind of agree?
- 1:26:11Speaker 8: Disagree?
- 1:26:12Speaker 7: And I'll take it off the air, thanks Pellas.
- 1:26:14Speaker 12: Yeah, okay, Yeah, I get what you're saying.
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why I feel like for me, and I
- 1:26:18Speaker 4: think I said it last night on the postgame show.
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: For me, it's about the body of work. It's not
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: about Oh, I'm so excited about the win over the Giants.
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: I mean, I do think the energy they came out
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: with last night was really good, and that to me
- 1:26:29Speaker 4: was encouraging that you know that they have another gear
- 1:26:32Speaker 4: to get back to. But for me, really the good
- 1:26:34Speaker 4: vibes right now are just taking time to reflect upon
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: a ten game win streak and an eleven and two
- 1:26:39Speaker 4: Stars of the season with you know, whatever you want
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: to accomplish, it's now within your grasp. You want that
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: number one overall seed, it's within your grass. You want
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: that AFC East Division title. It is well within your grasps.
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: So but I get what he's saying. I mean, you know,
- 1:26:51Speaker 4: it's you'd love to beat in the Chiefs and the Bills,
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: and you'd love to you know, the.
- 1:26:55Speaker 13: Reason I was impressed with that win last night is
- 1:26:57Speaker 13: because they've played steady stream of those kinds of teams
- 1:27:02Speaker 13: and they don't always make those teams look like that.
- 1:27:05Speaker 13: This was, like, I think I used the word outlier
- 1:27:07Speaker 13: last night. That's what impressed me was first of all,
- 1:27:12Speaker 13: it's the first game of the year that they completely
- 1:27:14Speaker 13: just took total control of right from the outset of
- 1:27:16Speaker 13: the game. Seventeen to nothing in the first quarter of
- 1:27:19Speaker 13: the game's over.
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:27:21Speaker 13: The other the two to ten team is now forced
- 1:27:24Speaker 13: to come from three scores down in the last three
- 1:27:26Speaker 13: quarters of the game on the road. Not going to happen,
- 1:27:30Speaker 13: you know, So you very comfortably won a game, yes,
- 1:27:34Speaker 13: against an inferior opponent. He's right, But like they played
- 1:27:37Speaker 13: an inferior opponent the previous week and they had to
- 1:27:39Speaker 13: sweat out the last drive. They played a previous opponent
- 1:27:42Speaker 13: in New Orleans that is terrible, terrible, and they had
- 1:27:46Speaker 13: to sweat out the last drive. So these things, you know,
- 1:27:50Speaker 13: they don't always go the way they did last night,
- 1:27:53Speaker 13: and they went that way because the Patriots were ready
- 1:27:56Speaker 13: to go at the start of the game, and they
- 1:27:59Speaker 13: they were all three phases they were, they were locked in.
- 1:28:02Speaker 13: That's to me that that was the big takeaway more
- 1:28:05Speaker 13: so than well, why are you puffing your chest about
- 1:28:07Speaker 13: beating the Giants. I'm puffing my chest by the way
- 1:28:09Speaker 13: the Patriots played.
- 1:28:10Speaker 5: And like remember the joy about playing and celebrate wins
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: and like have fun. This is a this is a
- 1:28:18Speaker 5: game you're playing.
- 1:28:18Speaker 13: Most of the games this year have been one score games.
- 1:28:21Speaker 13: Last night wasn't.
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: Yeah. Do I remember you guys talking about Teddy Bruski
- 1:28:25Speaker 4: and O seven time about the like the weight of
- 1:28:28Speaker 4: the wind streak. He talked about it afterwards, for sure. Yeah,
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: I mean, I just I feel like they're avoiding that
- 1:28:34Speaker 4: right now. It's just that doesn't seem like the weight
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: of a win streak is on them.
- 1:28:37Speaker 13: They avoided it in O seven too. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:28:39Speaker 13: Fred's right, that was a topic after the loss. Yeah,
- 1:28:45Speaker 13: but I do think that that pressure mounts. I don't
- 1:28:47Speaker 13: feel that right now. I don't feel I think I
- 1:28:49Speaker 13: think this is one of those house money kind of deals.
- 1:28:52Speaker 13: Like no one expected us to be here. Everybody expected
- 1:28:55Speaker 13: the seven Patriots to be really good. Now, I don't
- 1:28:57Speaker 13: know how many people thought they were going to be
- 1:28:58Speaker 13: undefeated except for Santos, right, who told us that in
- 1:29:02Speaker 13: the at the Super Bowl.
- 1:29:03Speaker 12: That he knew.
- 1:29:04Speaker 13: I saw them, but everybody knew the Patriots were a
- 1:29:09Speaker 13: really good team that sort of reset and restocked and
- 1:29:13Speaker 13: reloaded and they were going to be, you know, a
- 1:29:15Speaker 13: super Bowl contender heading into the seven season.
- 1:29:17Speaker 12: No one thought that about this team.
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: Yeah, Joe writes s and Fred, you were dead wrong.
- 1:29:22Speaker 5: On the postgame show, Ellis could have easily nudged dart
- 1:29:25Speaker 5: out didn't end up happening. But why were we tempting
- 1:29:28Speaker 5: a team with nothing to lose in a better pass
- 1:29:30Speaker 5: rush to go after your guy?
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:29:35Speaker 12: Yeah? I don't.
- 1:29:35Speaker 13: I don't know if you can play that way like
- 1:29:38Speaker 13: I don't. I'm not going to hit him because they
- 1:29:40Speaker 13: might hit my guy. I don't know if you can
- 1:29:42Speaker 13: play like now.
- 1:29:43Speaker 5: You can't.
- 1:29:43Speaker 13: I just was trying to make the point, and again,
- 1:29:46Speaker 13: it wasn't. It was not a penalty, And I I
- 1:29:49Speaker 13: kind of think that for as poor as the officiating
- 1:29:52Speaker 13: has been all season in a variety of games, I
- 1:29:55Speaker 13: think they've done a better job of not calling those
- 1:29:57Speaker 13: on the sideline when the quarterback is trying to get
- 1:29:59Speaker 13: extra year they've said, yeah, okay, you want to hit
- 1:30:02Speaker 13: that at one or two extra yards, you're going to
- 1:30:04Speaker 13: subject yourself to a hit that we used to call
- 1:30:06Speaker 13: a penalty. They haven't called them a lot this year.
- 1:30:09Speaker 13: May took one of those in one of the games
- 1:30:10Speaker 13: this year and didn't get the penalty, and he was
- 1:30:12Speaker 13: in bounce yep.
- 1:30:14Speaker 5: Sebastian from New Jersey Exit one, p. Fifty three in
- 1:30:17Speaker 5: the Parkway last night was, in my opinion, the best
- 1:30:21Speaker 5: game from all three phases. I agree, but I feel
- 1:30:24Speaker 5: we took the foot off the gas in the second half.
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: I think we could have maybe should have put up
- 1:30:28Speaker 5: forty plus. I'm still waiting to see a complete sixty
- 1:30:31Speaker 5: minute game. On the injuries to Spallaine and Gonzo, I
- 1:30:35Speaker 5: believe they were more booboos than injuries. There was a
- 1:30:37Speaker 5: run up the middle where the running back got tackled
- 1:30:40Speaker 5: by another defender and they both kind of landed at
- 1:30:42Speaker 5: Splaine's feet. Maybe they hit his shins with their helmets.
- 1:30:46Speaker 5: And then on the giants first touchdown, the wide receiver
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: broke through and both Gonzo and Davis were running with
- 1:30:52Speaker 5: him into the end zone. Gonzo slipped feet first when
- 1:30:56Speaker 5: the wide receiver rolled in underneath him. Looks like he
- 1:30:59Speaker 5: landed hard on his posterior, getting him a Cox's pad.
- 1:31:02Speaker 13: And Zalas played every play, you know whatever. You know,
- 1:31:06Speaker 13: maybe he was, you know, limping or whatever, but.
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: He was in the locker.
- 1:31:09Speaker 12: He was not banged today walking around didn't see Yeah.
- 1:31:12Speaker 13: To Mike's point, Splaine only played, you know, a little
- 1:31:16Speaker 13: little less than seventy percent of the place, sixty nine
- 1:31:18Speaker 13: percent of the place.
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: Nice.
- 1:31:19Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean Bradberry was in the locker room
- 1:31:22Speaker 4: today too, which I just found interesting. Pop up day
- 1:31:25Speaker 4: of a game with the illness and then you are
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: still here. So maybe it wasn't anything major, but I.
- 1:31:32Speaker 13: Still not the last day they gotta it's their only
- 1:31:36Speaker 13: day of work.
- 1:31:37Speaker 4: And I don't know. It just something that stood out
- 1:31:39Speaker 4: to me. And maybe, you know, maybe maybe Splain was sickness,
- 1:31:43Speaker 4: but maybe he just maybe it was kind of rotation
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: a little bit. I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:31:49Speaker 5: Let's go to Ralph and Haiti. What's up?
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: Ralph is back, y'all.
- 1:32:01Speaker 16: Listen. I got a couple of points, you know, because
- 1:32:03Speaker 16: my I don't know how how much how much how
- 1:32:06Speaker 16: much what's the name? I got left with this with
- 1:32:09Speaker 16: this phone and stuff like that. But last night I
- 1:32:12Speaker 16: want to tell all these Pats fans stop acting like
- 1:32:15Speaker 16: we are the two thousand and seven Patriots. We are
- 1:32:17Speaker 16: the two thousand and one Patriots, where every winner is
- 1:32:19Speaker 16: a brand new thing for us, and we didn't know
- 1:32:21Speaker 16: if we was gonna make the super Bowl. To enjoy
- 1:32:23Speaker 16: the wild ride, you understand one. Enjoy you know what
- 1:32:27Speaker 16: I'm saying.
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: I got a.
- 1:32:28Speaker 16: Defense that's laid in the wood, that's making sure that
- 1:32:31Speaker 16: they tackle right, they're not missing tackles. Enjoy it. You know, Fred,
- 1:32:35Speaker 16: you was right about that. You know, Paul stopped playing
- 1:32:37Speaker 16: Devil's advocate. I get it, you gotta play the other guy.
- 1:32:40Speaker 16: But you know, let let my bag Al get some love,
- 1:32:43Speaker 16: let him get some love.
- 1:32:45Speaker 12: I'm totally with Fred on Alis.
- 1:32:47Speaker 13: I thought that was a great addition to the good
- 1:32:49Speaker 13: list last night, right right out of the shoot when
- 1:32:51Speaker 13: Fred came in, I co signed strongly on LS being
- 1:32:55Speaker 13: on that list.
- 1:32:55Speaker 12: He had an excellent game.
- 1:32:56Speaker 13: Yeah, we were arguing about the Jalen Hawkins here, not Ellis.
- 1:33:02Speaker 16: Yeah, the jailor Hopkins. And I think he was trying
- 1:33:04Speaker 16: to get the interception. I think he was trying to
- 1:33:06Speaker 16: play it to the drill.
- 1:33:06Speaker 12: I don't really care what he was trying to do.
- 1:33:09Speaker 12: I'm just talking about what he did I.
- 1:33:10Speaker 5: Know, but Paul, people were saying, it's such a stupid.
- 1:33:14Speaker 12: Play, kind of was reckless.
- 1:33:16Speaker 5: No, it was not. I don't want to get it.
- 1:33:18Speaker 16: When you're coming from but at the end of the day,
- 1:33:20Speaker 16: I don't enjoy it anyway. You know what I'm saying, Boom,
- 1:33:23Speaker 16: I gotta get off the air because but all my
- 1:33:26Speaker 16: teams in red, white and brew. I went in the Patriots.
- 1:33:28Speaker 5: You tell him, Ralph, he just made the World Cup.
- 1:33:31Speaker 16: We are we on fire.
- 1:33:33Speaker 5: That's right. You tell him Ralph and call again, Paul.
- 1:33:36Speaker 5: You should listen to Ralph. Just take some joy in life.
- 1:33:39Speaker 4: Go down to Haiti.
- 1:33:41Speaker 5: You know, I just don't understand some.
- 1:33:43Speaker 13: Joy that doesn't take any of the joy away from
- 1:33:45Speaker 13: anything that happened last night.
- 1:33:47Speaker 12: To me, like that, not every single.
- 1:33:50Speaker 5: Play saying, you know, make lemonade out of lemons, Paul
- 1:33:53Speaker 5: makes vinegar out of lemons. I just I don't know
- 1:33:56Speaker 5: how how does he do that?
- 1:33:57Speaker 13: I just had the previous caller who's lamenting the second half.
- 1:34:02Speaker 13: I strongly push back on that. Patriots played an excellent
- 1:34:05Speaker 13: second half. When you have a thirty to seven lead
- 1:34:08Speaker 13: at the half, that was an excellent second half. Shorten
- 1:34:11Speaker 13: the game get out. We have this game won. We
- 1:34:15Speaker 13: don't need to score forty points. That's you want to
- 1:34:17Speaker 13: talk about taking the joy out of it. That's what
- 1:34:19Speaker 13: the seven Patriots would have done. They would have been concerned.
- 1:34:22Speaker 5: I loved it.
- 1:34:22Speaker 12: They would have been concerned with nonsense that doesn't help
- 1:34:25Speaker 12: you in the lite.
- 1:34:25Speaker 5: I loved every minute of it.
- 1:34:27Speaker 13: That team last night was more focused on the here
- 1:34:29Speaker 13: and now. We did what we needed to do tonight.
- 1:34:32Speaker 13: Let's let's move on to the next one and get
- 1:34:34Speaker 13: ready to do what we need to do in the
- 1:34:36Speaker 13: next one.
- 1:34:36Speaker 5: I love to hear the lamentations, right Conan Tawwinder, remember
- 1:34:43Speaker 5: Talwinder from the Bay Area? Yah, yeah, it emailed in
- 1:34:46Speaker 5: a while. I don't think we all we got we
- 1:34:49Speaker 5: all we needed, says. I've emailed you guys a few
- 1:34:51Speaker 5: weeks ago predicted we will go fourteen and three and
- 1:34:54Speaker 5: get the number one seed. I still stand by my prediction.
- 1:34:58Speaker 5: We're gonna be Buffalo Baltimore and the Jets. Then we
- 1:35:01Speaker 5: might lose the last game to the Dolphins because number
- 1:35:03Speaker 5: one seed will be all locked up. A few other
- 1:35:06Speaker 5: predictions Chiefs won't make the playoffs. I'm not worried about
- 1:35:09Speaker 5: the Ravens. Buffalo will lose in the playoffs at Denver.
- 1:35:13Speaker 5: We will host Denver for the AFC Championship on January
- 1:35:17Speaker 5: twenty fifth at three pm.
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: Oh my lord, there you go, tell you guys, and
- 1:35:23Speaker 4: you're looking to god. I always want to go to
- 1:35:25Speaker 4: a conference championship. They got that number one seed in there.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: One game away that would be it would be tense.
- 1:35:32Speaker 5: Um spiing Fresno. Always seem the bye was mid season
- 1:35:36Speaker 5: during the Dynasty years, teams get to voice a preference
- 1:35:40Speaker 5: for where they're by falls right. I don't think they do.
- 1:35:42Speaker 5: I think it depends on not no, because you're asking
- 1:35:46Speaker 5: that's changed, Yeah, I mean you're asking for other things. Hey,
- 1:35:49Speaker 5: we can't do this weekend because it and then it
- 1:35:51Speaker 5: just okay, well now you're gonna have to have you
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: buy here.
- 1:35:54Speaker 13: There is a possibility, like Belichick used to bitch about it.
- 1:35:56Speaker 13: That's why I say, you don't get a chance, but
- 1:35:58Speaker 13: there's a chance that you know, let's face it, he's
- 1:36:02Speaker 13: disingenuous for a reason. He maybe was not being completely
- 1:36:07Speaker 13: fourthright with that, but he used to bitch.
- 1:36:08Speaker 12: About not being able to control that. Yeah, because remember
- 1:36:11Speaker 12: in the year well.
- 1:36:11Speaker 5: Then everybody would ask for the perfect placement.
- 1:36:13Speaker 12: You can't do the year the year that they had
- 1:36:15Speaker 12: one really early.
- 1:36:16Speaker 13: He was particularly salty about, Oh yeah, it's like a
- 1:36:19Speaker 13: week four by or a Week five by or a
- 1:36:22Speaker 13: late one.
- 1:36:24Speaker 5: You just got to play him like they fall. Dying
- 1:36:27Speaker 5: Spee says, I always had some trepidation coming out of
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: the by, which reminds me not that I'm keeping receipts.
- 1:36:34Speaker 5: But no one ever called out Paul in twenty sixteen
- 1:36:37Speaker 5: for incorrectly predicting that the Seattle game after the Week
- 1:36:40Speaker 5: nine bye was going to be a blowout Patriots win.
- 1:36:43Speaker 5: He guaranteed to win. Paul, do you remember the score?
- 1:36:46Speaker 5: Seattle won thirty one twenty four Brady passing yards three sixteen.
- 1:36:50Speaker 5: Top receiver of that game Marty Bennett with one hundred
- 1:36:53Speaker 5: and two. I didn't let you.
- 1:36:55Speaker 4: I would have called you, apul, but I wasn't here.
- 1:36:57Speaker 12: Now I'm getting ripped.
- 1:36:58Speaker 5: Do you remember that prediction?
- 1:37:00Speaker 12: Sorry?
- 1:37:01Speaker 5: Do you remember that?
- 1:37:03Speaker 12: No? I remember the game?
- 1:37:05Speaker 13: That was a Gronk got hit in the end zone
- 1:37:08Speaker 13: kind of it was like Dragos, like, oh the champions
- 1:37:11Speaker 13: hurt like he got.
- 1:37:12Speaker 4: Was that one? Thomas a little more?
- 1:37:14Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 1:37:14Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah, And Kansas. I mean Pete Carroll had had
- 1:37:21Speaker 13: a faux pas in that game where he, I believe
- 1:37:26Speaker 13: when they scored a touchdown to go up thirty one
- 1:37:28Speaker 13: to twenty four, he went for two instead of instead
- 1:37:32Speaker 13: of just kicking it to make it an eight point game,
- 1:37:34Speaker 13: he went for two and didn't get it.
- 1:37:36Speaker 4: I think he wanted to know what he needed.
- 1:37:38Speaker 13: And I think Bill looked at It's like, do I
- 1:37:39Speaker 13: have the score wrong? Like Bill was kind of confused
- 1:37:42Speaker 13: by it, and that allowed the Patriots a chance, and
- 1:37:45Speaker 13: at the end of the game they got stopped inside
- 1:37:47Speaker 13: like inside the five at the end of the game.
- 1:37:49Speaker 4: Yeah, did you did you clock? In Rabel's press conference,
- 1:37:52Speaker 4: it seemed like he knew exactly what the record was
- 1:37:54Speaker 4: for teams this year coming out of the.
- 1:37:56Speaker 12: By sixteen and twelve.
- 1:37:57Speaker 4: Sixteen and twelve?
- 1:37:58Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 1:37:59Speaker 4: Is that? Is that a reminder of like, hey.
- 1:38:02Speaker 13: You're not guaranteed to win coming out of the bye
- 1:38:05Speaker 13: I don't know.
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: I mean, it's not a great number. It would have
- 1:38:08Speaker 4: been better if it was five hundred or belore.
- 1:38:10Speaker 13: I also like all of those like did teams ever
- 1:38:15Speaker 13: face each other, both of them coming out of the buy?
- 1:38:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:38:19Speaker 5: Good question.
- 1:38:20Speaker 13: I don't know, like that's twenty eight, right, it's twenty
- 1:38:23Speaker 13: eight at the thirty two, So the other four had
- 1:38:26Speaker 13: the buy this week.
- 1:38:29Speaker 4: I don't know. That's a lot of math going on.
- 1:38:31Speaker 5: Ted has a quick question, butt fumble or turf kick
- 1:38:34Speaker 5: butt fumble? Yeah, that was ridiculous, did you guys ever
- 1:38:38Speaker 5: hear what?
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: Whose explanation?
- 1:38:41Speaker 13: Well, there was a problem with the hold. He didn't
- 1:38:43Speaker 13: feel like that the timing or something was it. But
- 1:38:45Speaker 13: like Fred makes a good point about the plant leg
- 1:38:47Speaker 13: was really close to the ball. I don't know if
- 1:38:49Speaker 13: it's because the ball wasn't in the right place, but
- 1:38:51Speaker 13: there was something about the timing of that whole play
- 1:38:54Speaker 13: that looked wrong. And I think it started with a
- 1:38:56Speaker 13: snap and hold. I would have like, I don't really
- 1:39:01Speaker 13: understand why you wouldn't just kick it and then you know,
- 1:39:04Speaker 13: let the chips fall where they may and the other
- 1:39:06Speaker 13: thing that you know, underrated doesn't really matter, but underrated.
- 1:39:10Speaker 13: You know, the holder gets the ball and he starts
- 1:39:13Speaker 13: to roll out and then just throw the ball away.
- 1:39:16Speaker 13: You save yourself significant field position and an incomplete pass.
- 1:39:20Speaker 13: The ball goes back to the line of scrimmage, right, Instead,
- 1:39:23Speaker 13: you're running. So now you're eight yards back at the snap,
- 1:39:26Speaker 13: you're running like thirteen yards back. Like that's a that's
- 1:39:29Speaker 13: a big difference, thirteen yards, don't you think? Yeah, absolutely,
- 1:39:35Speaker 13: just throw it away incomplete pass.
- 1:39:37Speaker 12: At least you get the ball.
- 1:39:38Speaker 13: Whatever the thirty nine yard line or whatever it was,
- 1:39:41Speaker 13: was it forty nine yard attempt? That probably doesn't even
- 1:39:45Speaker 13: go down as a missfield goal?
- 1:39:46Speaker 12: Yeah it doesn't.
- 1:39:47Speaker 5: Yeah, Max and Santa Barbara. A couple things. First, First, off,
- 1:39:52Speaker 5: in and out in California only is far superior to
- 1:39:55Speaker 5: any other burger place in the fast food world. Yes,
- 1:39:58Speaker 5: outside California it's not the same. But as Paul should
- 1:40:01Speaker 5: be able to tell you, champions Pub and Pee, but
- 1:40:04Speaker 5: he might be the best burger on the planet, very
- 1:40:06Speaker 5: very good burger. Really, what makes it good?
- 1:40:08Speaker 13: It's just it's just I don't know, it's just I
- 1:40:11Speaker 13: don't get them a lot. I don't get them a lot.
- 1:40:13Speaker 13: They're steak tips, they marinate.
- 1:40:16Speaker 5: Marinated BURGERM. What makes the burger good.
- 1:40:20Speaker 13: It's just a good burger. I don't know what makes
- 1:40:23Speaker 13: it good. I mean, I don't know, good.
- 1:40:25Speaker 4: Good good, good beef comes together nice.
- 1:40:27Speaker 12: It's lean, not not too but not too lean. You
- 1:40:30Speaker 12: don't want that like you need a little good. You
- 1:40:32Speaker 12: need the good percentage like.
- 1:40:34Speaker 13: Ninety ten, eighty five, fifteen, can't you don't want the
- 1:40:37Speaker 13: ninety five five.
- 1:40:38Speaker 5: I like going forty percent. Let's go get that, get
- 1:40:43Speaker 5: that flavor in there.
- 1:40:44Speaker 12: Some maybe maybe eighty twe maybe eighty twe.
- 1:40:47Speaker 5: Okay, Second, you need to get a picture of Rable
- 1:40:50Speaker 5: on the wall. And finally, with the Cowboys and cap
- 1:40:53Speaker 5: Hell next year, do you think the Patriots should make
- 1:40:55Speaker 5: a run at Pickens?
- 1:40:58Speaker 13: I do not think that that will happen. But he's
- 1:41:02Speaker 13: going to cost a lot of money and he's a handful. Yeah,
- 1:41:05Speaker 13: that's one of the ones that Mike has been on
- 1:41:07Speaker 13: for a while.
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:41:08Speaker 12: I would still like the Patriots.
- 1:41:11Speaker 13: Now, I would say no, because I think this whole
- 1:41:15Speaker 13: thing that they've put together chemistry wise, is working right.
- 1:41:20Speaker 12: And I wouldn't I wouldn't risk it right, but I
- 1:41:24Speaker 12: would have.
- 1:41:25Speaker 13: You know, I used to disagree with Mike in terms
- 1:41:27Speaker 13: of the talent. I would have the Patriots needed a
- 1:41:29Speaker 13: number one receiver. Look what he's done, and the guy's
- 1:41:31Speaker 13: tremendously talented. Now he's showing you what he could have
- 1:41:34Speaker 13: been doing in Pittsburgh if he had someone to throw
- 1:41:36Speaker 13: him the ball.
- 1:41:36Speaker 5: Is Dak Prescott a dark horse for MVP.
- 1:41:40Speaker 13: If they make a run and get in the playoffs,
- 1:41:41Speaker 13: he absolutely will be on the fringes of that. A
- 1:41:44Speaker 13: lot of people think he's had a great year and
- 1:41:46Speaker 13: he's carried that team.
- 1:41:47Speaker 5: Yep, Zach and Sinsey. Cannot be stated enough the impact
- 1:41:51Speaker 5: Doug Marone has had on this offensive line. He has
- 1:41:54Speaker 5: the team prepared every single week, and it seems like
- 1:41:57Speaker 5: they're improving with every game, even play who everyone wrote
- 1:42:01Speaker 5: off look adequate under his coaching. Rabel In the entire
- 1:42:04Speaker 5: coaching staff deserve their flowers. I try to give them
- 1:42:08Speaker 5: every time. I there's more flowers than Fred.
- 1:42:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:42:12Speaker 5: I mean we're seeing the difference that good coaching can make.
- 1:42:17Speaker 4: Just like to see a little more movement in the
- 1:42:19Speaker 4: run game from the offensive line group.
- 1:42:21Speaker 5: Okay, that's all. Okay. I don't know if this is
- 1:42:26Speaker 5: a strong man article, I mean an argument, But Andre
- 1:42:31Speaker 5: writes in I keep hearing people question the Patriots opponents
- 1:42:35Speaker 5: this season, suggesting our record as a product of weak teams.
- 1:42:38Speaker 5: But let's take a look at the facts.
- 1:42:40Speaker 12: First.
- 1:42:41Speaker 5: Many of the teams we beaten are competitive right now,
- 1:42:44Speaker 5: and their losses have come against strong opponents. Second, if
- 1:42:48Speaker 5: you compare where the Patriots were last year to where
- 1:42:50Speaker 5: we are today, the improvement is undeniable. You don't win
- 1:42:53Speaker 5: eleven games by accident, and you certainly don't win eleven
- 1:42:55Speaker 5: games against nothing but weak teams. That's just not how
- 1:42:59Speaker 5: the NFL works. Third, everyone keeps talking about the so
- 1:43:02Speaker 5: called big teams, yet here we are sitting in the
- 1:43:06Speaker 5: first seed. Facts are facts. If we weren't strong, we
- 1:43:09Speaker 5: wouldn't be in this position. It's time to stop down
- 1:43:12Speaker 5: playing this team and hiding behind the narrative weak opponents.
- 1:43:16Speaker 5: The Patriots squad is good, very good, and we have
- 1:43:19Speaker 5: the roster to beat anyone. Let's start giving this team
- 1:43:22Speaker 5: the credit they've earned. Here here huzzah, Andre.
- 1:43:28Speaker 13: Fred's doing it. He's consistent. Fred says the same about Chicago.
- 1:43:31Speaker 13: I don't I think schedules are extremely important in the NFL.
- 1:43:38Speaker 13: I think that there's a reason why a lot of
- 1:43:40Speaker 13: the so called powers are really struggling, and because they
- 1:43:43Speaker 13: all kind of hit a really, really tough schedule in
- 1:43:45Speaker 13: the same year. Kansas City, Detroit, the NFC, the NFC
- 1:43:50Speaker 13: North schedules like that's that's tough. That's tough.
- 1:43:57Speaker 4: I mean, i'd say Buffalo. I feel like they're they
- 1:44:00Speaker 4: just have no ability to push the ball down the field.
- 1:44:02Speaker 13: So, I mean, I think it's not your thirteen opponents.
- 1:44:04Speaker 13: Nine out of your thirteen opponents have fewer than six wins.
- 1:44:11Speaker 13: I mean, it is what it is. Six out of
- 1:44:14Speaker 13: your thirteen have three wins or less.
- 1:44:16Speaker 25: Just but how does how much does that actually matter?
- 1:44:18Speaker 12: But in the grand scheme of things, zero? No, But
- 1:44:21Speaker 12: I mean, like your record is good, that's cares how
- 1:44:25Speaker 12: you got you'll.
- 1:44:26Speaker 30: Know, because I don't know if I'm like as gung
- 1:44:29Speaker 30: ho as the emailer was a little bit, but uh.
- 1:44:32Speaker 12: Lastic, it's an enormous difference.
- 1:44:34Speaker 13: You don't think that Kansas City would be better than
- 1:44:35Speaker 13: six and six with that schedule.
- 1:44:37Speaker 30: But I don't think it's too relevant to where we're
- 1:44:40Speaker 30: going this season.
- 1:44:41Speaker 13: It's it's completely irrelevant. It's been proven that the teams
- 1:44:45Speaker 13: with the easiest schedules make the deepest playoff runs.
- 1:44:48Speaker 25: So then what's the point in bringing it up all
- 1:44:49Speaker 25: the time.
- 1:44:49Speaker 13: Because he's suggesting that that that's got nothing to do
- 1:44:52Speaker 13: with the schedule.
- 1:44:53Speaker 30: Oh, I mean, I don't know if it has nothing
- 1:44:55Speaker 30: to do with the schedule at all.
- 1:44:57Speaker 13: But I look, now, all you have to do is
- 1:44:59Speaker 13: be one or two good teams and you win the
- 1:45:01Speaker 13: super Bowl, as opposed to having to go through eight
- 1:45:04Speaker 13: or ten good.
- 1:45:04Speaker 12: Teams to get to the super Bowl.
- 1:45:05Speaker 13: I'll take the two, right, But then why I always
- 1:45:08Speaker 13: say like I would rather, you know, I'd rather avoid
- 1:45:11Speaker 13: the monsters. You know, Fred used to you know, used
- 1:45:15Speaker 13: to put the big ones on the table.
- 1:45:17Speaker 5: I don't care who.
- 1:45:18Speaker 13: Well, right, I'm he me the easiest road, But do
- 1:45:22Speaker 13: you take it?
- 1:45:23Speaker 12: You want to give me Chicago in the super Bowl?
- 1:45:25Speaker 13: Like Fred says, absolutely, they're by far the weakest of
- 1:45:28Speaker 13: the possible NFC Super Bowl contenders.
- 1:45:31Speaker 4: But are you saying that Kansas City, Baltimore and Buffalo
- 1:45:35Speaker 4: business as usual? They just run into a bad schedule
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: this year.
- 1:45:37Speaker 13: Kansas City, Yes, and Evan will have numbers to kind
- 1:45:40Speaker 13: of they prove that.
- 1:45:41Speaker 30: The analytics have been saying that Kansas City is underachieving
- 1:45:45Speaker 30: relative to how while they're playing all year. But I
- 1:45:49Speaker 30: just there's a difference between, you know, what they need
- 1:45:51Speaker 30: what Paul is saying, which is the Patriots have cleaned
- 1:45:56Speaker 30: up on some easy teams to get to eleven wins, which.
- 1:45:59Speaker 12: Is just fact, but in the team.
- 1:46:03Speaker 30: But that also does I think I where the point
- 1:46:05Speaker 30: that a lot of fans are at with it is
- 1:46:07Speaker 30: that it's irrelevant, like this sensey, but no, it's literally
- 1:46:12Speaker 30: it's irrelevant though like once we get to January, it's
- 1:46:15Speaker 30: it's irrelevant.
- 1:46:16Speaker 13: For the twenty twenty five season. Okay, it's not going
- 1:46:19Speaker 13: to stop them from getting where we want to go.
- 1:46:21Speaker 13: I totally agree with you, but they're relevant, like it
- 1:46:24Speaker 13: is part of the equation, I guess.
- 1:46:26Speaker 30: So I just like if you start talking about like
- 1:46:29Speaker 30: who's going to come out of the AFC and we
- 1:46:31Speaker 30: start really having this conversation about.
- 1:46:32Speaker 13: The Patriots in Denver have benefited from soft schedules, Okay,
- 1:46:36Speaker 13: but once we get to the playoffs, Like so you're
- 1:46:39Speaker 13: saying now that once we get to the playoffs, it's
- 1:46:41Speaker 13: going to be fools gold And one of those two
- 1:46:43Speaker 13: teams said, I think the Patriots are a good team.
- 1:46:46Speaker 25: So then what difference does it make?
- 1:46:48Speaker 5: Like what why? Why?
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: Why?
- 1:46:49Speaker 5: Because you hy bring it up, you don't think it's
- 1:46:51Speaker 5: going to be relevant?
- 1:46:52Speaker 13: Do you think it makes a difference to get the
- 1:46:54Speaker 13: number one seed? Sure, when you get the number one
- 1:46:57Speaker 13: seed by having the best record, Right, so there's relevance
- 1:47:00Speaker 13: to that that does matter.
- 1:47:01Speaker 12: But still in less game and you're at home in
- 1:47:03Speaker 12: the next one.
- 1:47:04Speaker 5: Right, but you but if you also think you're gonna
- 1:47:08Speaker 5: you're gonna be one of the best teams in the playoffs,
- 1:47:11Speaker 5: then I can see what Evan's saying. Yeah.
- 1:47:14Speaker 30: All I'm saying is that if we come back and
- 1:47:16Speaker 30: look at this in six weeks or eight weeks or
- 1:47:19Speaker 30: whatever it is, and the Patriots end up losing earlier
- 1:47:22Speaker 30: in the playoffs and we all want them to, then
- 1:47:25Speaker 30: the Cam Newton Fools Gold thing is going.
- 1:47:27Speaker 12: To come up.
- 1:47:28Speaker 30: But I don't necessarily know if like the fact that
- 1:47:31Speaker 30: they're cleaning up against teams like the Giants in the
- 1:47:34Speaker 30: grand scheme of things of getting into a deep postseason round.
- 1:47:38Speaker 25: I'm just not seeing how it's relevant.
- 1:47:40Speaker 5: I'll tell you what was twenty one was Fool's Gold.
- 1:47:43Speaker 13: Yeah, remember, because I can't tell you if it's relevant
- 1:47:46Speaker 13: because I said this last time, I can't see the future.
- 1:47:49Speaker 13: I don't know what's going to happen, so I can't
- 1:47:51Speaker 13: tell you if it's relevant.
- 1:47:53Speaker 30: You can say that they are to have eleven wins
- 1:47:56Speaker 30: partially because of their schedule. But all I'm saying is
- 1:47:59Speaker 30: is that I don't I don't know if that necessarily
- 1:48:02Speaker 30: is going to matter, like because the way what I'm
- 1:48:07Speaker 30: getting at is people.
- 1:48:09Speaker 5: Bring it up to say you're not as good as
- 1:48:11Speaker 5: you think you are.
- 1:48:11Speaker 13: Okay, well, I'm saying the other side of it. But
- 1:48:15Speaker 13: the Patriots fans say that that's wrong.
- 1:48:18Speaker 25: Well, it's not about that.
- 1:48:19Speaker 12: It's a sensitivity.
- 1:48:21Speaker 25: It's not I know, Michael, Well, it's not a sensitivity.
- 1:48:24Speaker 5: It's annoying.
- 1:48:27Speaker 12: It's annoying for admitting it. It's not that it's annoying.
- 1:48:30Speaker 31: Annoying, it's annoying when people you haven't made an actual
- 1:48:34Speaker 31: case for why it matters, Like if you want to
- 1:48:38Speaker 31: tell the whole story, because because the games haven't been played,
- 1:48:41Speaker 31: I don't know what will happen if they play good teams,
- 1:48:44Speaker 31: I don't know because I haven't seen it.
- 1:48:45Speaker 5: Okay, but they played one good team.
- 1:48:47Speaker 30: But my point is is that if you want to
- 1:48:49Speaker 30: talk about it in the context of the season of
- 1:48:51Speaker 30: how did we get here? It is a relevant talking point.
- 1:48:55Speaker 30: If you want to talk about it as in the
- 1:48:57Speaker 30: Patriots are going to lose in the playoffs because they
- 1:48:59Speaker 30: played bad teams and the regulars to do that.
- 1:49:02Speaker 5: Well.
- 1:49:02Speaker 12: I also just don't think.
- 1:49:03Speaker 25: That's backed up by history.
- 1:49:04Speaker 12: But that's what I'm saying. I can't do that. But
- 1:49:06Speaker 12: I'm telling you.
- 1:49:09Speaker 30: Something I haven't seen, Okay, but I'm telling you things
- 1:49:11Speaker 30: that have already happened in the past, and the history
- 1:49:13Speaker 30: of the league would tell you that a lot of
- 1:49:16Speaker 30: teams that beat up on bad schedules go on deep
- 1:49:18Speaker 30: playoff runs. The Eagles last year did not have a
- 1:49:21Speaker 30: particularly hard schedule and they went on a deep playoff
- 1:49:24Speaker 30: run and won the whole thing.
- 1:49:25Speaker 13: So like, I just like if you told the do
- 1:49:28Speaker 13: you think Washington was really good or do you think
- 1:49:30Speaker 13: it was a little bit of kind of flukiness to it.
- 1:49:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I think there was a lot of last second win.
- 1:49:37Speaker 12: There might have been, but that's like the haters.
- 1:49:40Speaker 30: I'm not They went to the NFC championship game, so
- 1:49:44Speaker 30: I understand.
- 1:49:45Speaker 12: But I think and I think the Patriots could do
- 1:49:47Speaker 12: the same thing.
- 1:49:47Speaker 5: But I think that I think the crowd, Paul, that
- 1:49:49Speaker 5: you don't like what they are saying is why you
- 1:49:52Speaker 5: keep bringing this up? Why are you doing?
- 1:49:55Speaker 13: And I think you had the perfect answer right to
- 1:49:57Speaker 13: annoy It's annoying to you're annoyed.
- 1:50:00Speaker 5: I'm annoyed. But that's why. That's why Patriots fans get
- 1:50:04Speaker 5: their dander up when people keep bringing up, why are
- 1:50:07Speaker 5: you doing it? What's the point?
- 1:50:08Speaker 12: I mean?
- 1:50:09Speaker 5: Are you just say you don't think it's not that good?
- 1:50:12Speaker 13: See, I'm not saying that. And Evan keeps asking me
- 1:50:15Speaker 13: if what's the relevance. I have no idea because it
- 1:50:17Speaker 13: hasn't played out. If the Patriots win the Super Bowl,
- 1:50:19Speaker 13: it had no relevance. But there's the Patriots loose, we
- 1:50:22Speaker 13: just have.
- 1:50:24Speaker 12: Relevance. I don't know what's going to happen.
- 1:50:26Speaker 30: We just have so many examples of this happening though
- 1:50:28Speaker 30: in the NFL, where teams beat up on bad schedules
- 1:50:32Speaker 30: and they still are good teams that still go on
- 1:50:34Speaker 30: deep playoffs. For us sometimes it was always like people,
- 1:50:37Speaker 30: you beat up on a bad schedule, then you get
- 1:50:39Speaker 30: to the playoffs and you play Buffalo.
- 1:50:40Speaker 5: When you get Patriots or in the height of their dynasty,
- 1:50:43Speaker 5: the haters would say, oh, you have the AFC East
- 1:50:45Speaker 5: and you beat up on them every year. Meanwhile, the
- 1:50:48Speaker 5: AFC East teams had very good out of division records.
- 1:50:52Speaker 30: We're not doing that I just don't. I'm I'm with
- 1:50:54Speaker 30: Paul on that.
- 1:50:55Speaker 12: But I did.
- 1:50:56Speaker 5: That's a bridge too far.
- 1:50:59Speaker 12: Three the old teams.
- 1:51:00Speaker 13: I mean, I don't know, Miami made the playoffs once
- 1:51:03Speaker 13: in ten years.
- 1:51:04Speaker 30: Vision It's just like, you're right, the Patriots have had
- 1:51:08Speaker 30: an easy schedule, Like, okay, thank you. Tell me why
- 1:51:12Speaker 30: it matters. Tell me why that they're not the best
- 1:51:14Speaker 30: team in the conference.
- 1:51:15Speaker 12: I don't have anything to come Paul.
- 1:51:17Speaker 25: You know what I'm saying. Tell me why it matters.
- 1:51:19Speaker 12: Tell me why?
- 1:51:20Speaker 5: Why?
- 1:51:20Speaker 25: Why is that going to matter?
- 1:51:21Speaker 12: If the best team wins the super Bowl every year?
- 1:51:25Speaker 5: Not every year.
- 1:51:26Speaker 13: I'm gonna be upfront and I'm going to tell you
- 1:51:28Speaker 13: a lot of times the best team doesn't win.
- 1:51:30Speaker 25: Okay, And well they.
- 1:51:31Speaker 30: Probably had an easy schedule so then got there exactly.
- 1:51:34Speaker 13: So I'm not telling you that I can't. So I'm
- 1:51:36Speaker 13: not telling you that it has relevance. I keep answering
- 1:51:38Speaker 13: the same way.
- 1:51:39Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:51:40Speaker 13: If there's any relevance to it. I don't know, Okay,
- 1:51:43Speaker 13: but so if I don't have But you.
- 1:51:46Speaker 25: Keep on bringing up something that you can't back up.
- 1:51:49Speaker 30: And then you say not bringing anything up, but but
- 1:51:52Speaker 30: this is but this is what your brethren does. You
- 1:51:54Speaker 30: keep on bringing my brother you're when you're you're.
- 1:51:58Speaker 5: Talking, that blows.
- 1:52:00Speaker 25: That's the case that you're making.
- 1:52:02Speaker 13: And then you keeping Somebody says that they haven't really
- 1:52:05Speaker 13: been tested, has to get mocked.
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: I think they've been tested. No, because you Britain.
- 1:52:11Speaker 30: My point is pause that you bring this stuff up
- 1:52:14Speaker 30: and then Patriots fans get sensitive about it, and then
- 1:52:16Speaker 30: you're Nana Nan and your sensitive like cool goodness.
- 1:52:21Speaker 12: So that's that's that you're going directly at Felger with that.
- 1:52:24Speaker 12: I don't, Yeah, I.
- 1:52:25Speaker 25: Don't, because he does it all the time and it's like.
- 1:52:28Speaker 5: It's a circular dude.
- 1:52:30Speaker 25: Like how the Packers doing.
- 1:52:31Speaker 13: I think there's championships that are won in all sports
- 1:52:34Speaker 13: every almost every year that fortune plays a huge role.
- 1:52:38Speaker 13: And when you see a team, how you get a team?
- 1:52:41Speaker 12: What you know who?
- 1:52:41Speaker 13: You miss a matchup that maybe you needed to avoid,
- 1:52:45Speaker 13: and yes, a schedule giving you a seed that maybe
- 1:52:47Speaker 13: you're not quite as talented to have achieved, but you
- 1:52:50Speaker 13: achieved it and that made your road that much easier.
- 1:52:52Speaker 13: There's a lot of different ways that this can happen.
- 1:52:55Speaker 13: I just don't know how it's going to play out.
- 1:52:57Speaker 30: Well, it's a very convenient thing to say when you
- 1:52:59Speaker 30: bring it up all the time and then just say,
- 1:53:01Speaker 30: but I don't know, I don't know how it's going
- 1:53:03Speaker 30: to go.
- 1:53:04Speaker 25: It's just convenient. It's convenient to just have that compound.
- 1:53:07Speaker 12: It's convenient. What am I saying?
- 1:53:09Speaker 30: And I'm not saying you necessarily, but like this whole again,
- 1:53:12Speaker 30: the whole case.
- 1:53:13Speaker 12: But you keep saying that I'm not because it's the
- 1:53:16Speaker 12: whole thing.
- 1:53:17Speaker 30: Is like it's easy to say that, like, Okay, I
- 1:53:18Speaker 30: don't have a crystal ball, Okay, So then why do
- 1:53:20Speaker 30: you keep bringing it up?
- 1:53:22Speaker 25: Why do you keep bringing it up?
- 1:53:23Speaker 30: Because I have the last couple of weeks brought up
- 1:53:27Speaker 30: on a Thursday and in a Monday night, I've been
- 1:53:30Speaker 30: able to watch a lot of games across the league
- 1:53:32Speaker 30: the last couple of weeks.
- 1:53:33Speaker 13: You started by saying this might be a bit of
- 1:53:35Speaker 13: a straw man, right right, right with the email, right,
- 1:53:37Speaker 13: I didn't bring it up.
- 1:53:38Speaker 5: I love it. Andrew writes in He's in Maine. Yes,
- 1:53:41Speaker 5: we have a soft schedule this year, but capital we
- 1:53:45Speaker 5: are also playing lights out consistently on offense, defense, special teams.
- 1:53:49Speaker 5: Both can be true at the same time. We're about
- 1:53:51Speaker 5: to triple our wind total from last year, and the
- 1:53:53Speaker 5: team chemistry is through the roof.
- 1:53:55Speaker 12: And why are so many of the games so close?
- 1:53:57Speaker 5: Kudos all over, because that's the NFL. Kudos all around, Rouser.
- 1:54:01Speaker 5: Even if we get knocked out early in the playoffs,
- 1:54:03Speaker 5: we have momentum on our side again and the team
- 1:54:05Speaker 5: is fun to watch. As for the hits on Dart
- 1:54:08Speaker 5: last night, old school bat ball is back. Baby Dart
- 1:54:11Speaker 5: was warned to slider go out and he chose not to.
- 1:54:13Speaker 5: He took the hit and didn't complain about it, to
- 1:54:15Speaker 5: my knowledge. I don't want anybody to get hurt unnecessarily,
- 1:54:19Speaker 5: but this is football, for God's sake. Not any problem
- 1:54:22Speaker 5: with they hit on to see the restaurant straw man.
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: Well, the tight end from the Giants, No.
- 1:54:27Speaker 12: That's different.
- 1:54:28Speaker 5: Well you do that, you have.
- 1:54:32Speaker 13: No But the tight end protecting his quarterback out of bounds,
- 1:54:36Speaker 13: that's a different thing. But the fans weren't up in
- 1:54:39Speaker 13: arms about the hit that Ellis put on Dart.
- 1:54:42Speaker 4: I can't wait for next year when the heart schedule
- 1:54:43Speaker 4: and we can just pike our heart schedule. What are
- 1:54:45Speaker 4: we supposed to do?
- 1:54:46Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, we're talking.
- 1:54:47Speaker 4: I don't know how it's gonna go, so let's not.
- 1:54:49Speaker 25: Let's not go there yet, all.
- 1:54:51Speaker 5: Right, couple couple of calls, you'll be indy, Boston Cream
- 1:54:57Speaker 5: has been holding on. What's up, Boston Cream?
- 1:55:00Speaker 21: Hey guys, we have to get rid of the all
- 1:55:01Speaker 21: we got all we need. We stole that from the
- 1:55:03Speaker 21: Seahawks and the Pee Carron the Legion of Boom Days.
- 1:55:06Speaker 5: Well, other teams have used it as well, so I
- 1:55:08Speaker 5: don't know, I I think it really applies.
- 1:55:12Speaker 21: And second thing, Evan totally disagree with you. Took Tim
- 1:55:16Speaker 21: Tebow and Danny Kanal. Those are the quarterbacks we've beaten
- 1:55:20Speaker 21: this century in Denver. If you think that has just happened.
- 1:55:23Speaker 30: Don't even get me started on the Broncos So Austin Cream.
- 1:55:28Speaker 30: They barely just beat Marcus Mariota in overtime. He had
- 1:55:33Speaker 30: a wide open receiver in the flat and if he
- 1:55:35Speaker 30: gets the ball three inches higher over at Nick Benino's head.
- 1:55:39Speaker 30: They just got upset by the Commanders, who are three
- 1:55:41Speaker 30: and eight with their backup quarterback preach. And I'm supposed
- 1:55:45Speaker 30: to be terrified of this team. I just saw bow
- 1:55:47Speaker 30: Nicks throw an interception to old man Bobby Wagner where
- 1:55:51Speaker 30: the ball went right to him.
- 1:55:53Speaker 21: I have put your PFF tablet down, look at.
- 1:55:56Speaker 12: Thet Oh yeah, dude, six.
- 1:56:00Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:56:01Speaker 30: I don't watch any of the games, my man, good
- 1:56:04Speaker 30: come of stuff.
- 1:56:04Speaker 25: You guys are getting me fired out.
- 1:56:08Speaker 30: I came in just that's probably the main reason. But
- 1:56:14Speaker 30: I'm so sick and tired of hearing about the Broncos.
- 1:56:17Speaker 5: Man, Like, I think they're good.
- 1:56:19Speaker 25: You have a soft spot for the Broncos.
- 1:56:21Speaker 30: No, I I watched football, so you thought that that
- 1:56:25Speaker 30: was a good performance on Sunday, and.
- 1:56:27Speaker 5: Even good teams have tough times against in a certain games.
- 1:56:31Speaker 12: Think the Rams are any good?
- 1:56:32Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:56:33Speaker 11: I think they lost to the Panthers, right, Okay, but
- 1:56:35Speaker 11: I think the Panthers canters like they're not the Marcus
- 1:56:40Speaker 11: Mariota commanders pretty close, you know they're not.
- 1:56:43Speaker 12: They're pretty close.
- 1:56:44Speaker 5: By the way, that is the proper way.
- 1:56:46Speaker 4: To why is Mario?
- 1:56:48Speaker 12: Why is that?
- 1:56:49Speaker 5: That's the correct way to Eric.
- 1:56:51Speaker 4: Redefined it for me when he was like, it's Mariota,
- 1:56:53Speaker 4: and now they're saying it's Mario ta.
- 1:56:56Speaker 13: So I'm trying to say it the right way so
- 1:56:58Speaker 13: that every single word we should over pronounce.
- 1:57:01Speaker 5: The tea that's that's how his name is pronounced.
- 1:57:06Speaker 13: I understand that that's how the tea is pronounced, but
- 1:57:09Speaker 13: we don't really say.
- 1:57:10Speaker 4: It like that.
- 1:57:11Speaker 5: I know, but I don't know.
- 1:57:12Speaker 13: That's just I just find it weird that all of
- 1:57:14Speaker 13: a sudden, it's like year whatever it is, twelve for
- 1:57:17Speaker 13: the guy. Everybody is like over pronouncing the tea in Mariota.
- 1:57:23Speaker 12: Yeah, and they're kind of mockingly doing it too.
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: No.
- 1:57:26Speaker 30: I feel like Tariko like had it more like it
- 1:57:30Speaker 30: was softer, It wasn't as weird.
- 1:57:32Speaker 25: Collins was like what.
- 1:57:33Speaker 13: We do in the pregame. I think there were can
- 1:57:36Speaker 13: agree on this. I'm absolutely with Evan on this. Every
- 1:57:40Speaker 13: came in really up today, like it.
- 1:57:42Speaker 5: Like, for example, when you say I say Hawaii, that's
- 1:57:46Speaker 5: not correct. It's Hawaii Hawaii. So like there's like there's
- 1:57:51Speaker 5: actually like.
- 1:57:52Speaker 12: An apostrophe between the eyes.
- 1:57:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:57:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I just wish we get it from the get go.
- 1:57:56Speaker 4: You know, like, what's your name? Say at the beginning,
- 1:57:58Speaker 4: it's your name, it's your name.
- 1:58:01Speaker 13: I think that anybody that has a t you should say.
- 1:58:05Speaker 12: Not do, but no one does except for Mariota.
- 1:58:09Speaker 5: I don't know. Maybe his mother called all the networks
- 1:58:12Speaker 5: and said, you're not pronouncing.
- 1:58:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll bet you it's something like that Ronnie the
- 1:58:18Speaker 4: pet thing that was I mean literally like first three
- 1:58:20Speaker 4: seasons he's Ronnie lipp It and then.
- 1:58:23Speaker 13: But again that's pronouncing his name differently. Every word that
- 1:58:28Speaker 13: has a T in it. No one pronounces over pronounces
- 1:58:31Speaker 13: the tea like that. We're not asking to Like it's
- 1:58:34Speaker 13: not like everybody said it's Mariota.
- 1:58:36Speaker 12: He really thinks it's mo.
- 1:58:38Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:58:38Speaker 12: He's just saying you need to ac the T. It's tough,
- 1:58:44Speaker 12: you know.
- 1:58:45Speaker 5: But if somebody says this is how you pronounce my name,
- 1:58:47Speaker 5: you should respect that.
- 1:58:48Speaker 13: No, I agree, just like if someone prefers to be
- 1:58:51Speaker 13: called you know, like josh Dobbs and Joshua Dobbs, like
- 1:58:55Speaker 13: he had said, I forget the differentiation now, but he
- 1:58:58Speaker 13: when you're right, it's Joshua, when if you're just talking
- 1:59:01Speaker 13: to him, it's josh you know, like I respect that,
- 1:59:04Speaker 13: Like that's Benjamin Watson preferred to be known as Benjamin.
- 1:59:08Speaker 5: All right, A couple of quick calls, We're up against it,
- 1:59:10Speaker 5: Danny's and Daytona, what's up, Danny?
- 1:59:14Speaker 32: Hey, what's going on again? How you guys doing it.
- 1:59:16Speaker 5: They did good.
- 1:59:19Speaker 16: I just wanted to say I.
- 1:59:20Speaker 32: Didn't get to call it last night the pre game.
- 1:59:22Speaker 32: It was pretty late, but it was.
- 1:59:25Speaker 10: It was.
- 1:59:26Speaker 32: It was a great game I can say to Paul, Paul,
- 1:59:29Speaker 32: I was surprised you haven't you didn't mention it or
- 1:59:32Speaker 32: fred The only thing I was disappointed. I love how
- 1:59:35Speaker 32: the defense played, Love how the offense played, and I
- 1:59:38Speaker 32: loved how the Beste's played. The only person on special
- 1:59:41Speaker 32: teams that pissed me off that he's been pissing me
- 1:59:44Speaker 32: off since two thousand Anderst since twenty twenty three, when
- 1:59:47Speaker 32: Belichick drafted that. You guys can take a guess, is
- 1:59:51Speaker 32: the punter. That guy has been so wildly inconsistent.
- 1:59:55Speaker 12: He was on the bad list last night.
- 1:59:57Speaker 6: Yeah he was.
- 1:59:58Speaker 32: Yeah, I don't know if you mentioned it, Paul. He
- 2:00:00Speaker 32: he was wildly inconsistent his first year in the league.
- 2:00:03Speaker 32: Last year, I mean, yeah, it was a disaster team,
- 2:00:05Speaker 32: so he was inconsistent too. And then this year you'll
- 2:00:08Speaker 32: see he has punts where he punts and bombs it
- 2:00:10Speaker 32: deep and it's perfect, and then he just shanks pumps
- 2:00:13Speaker 32: punts that are like twenty to thirty hours.
- 2:00:15Speaker 13: Freddy even criticized his plus fifty punts. That was fair,
- 2:00:18Speaker 13: fair cart at the fourteen, right, I didn't we put.
- 2:00:21Speaker 5: Out that we got more room to put it inside
- 2:00:24Speaker 5: the ten and you couldn't do it? All right? Thanks Dan,
- 2:00:27Speaker 5: appreciate the call. We'll wrap up with Manny in New Bedford.
- 2:00:30Speaker 5: What's up, Manny?
- 2:00:32Speaker 1: Hey?
- 2:00:33Speaker 17: What's going on?
- 2:00:33Speaker 5: Guys? Hey?
- 2:00:35Speaker 28: So I just wanted to dive into that running game.
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: Man.
- 2:00:38Speaker 28: Nothing stresses me out more than watching us in third
- 2:00:41Speaker 28: and short situations knowing we're gonna run the ball and
- 2:00:45Speaker 28: we just can't seem to find gap.
- 2:00:47Speaker 5: What needs to change?
- 2:00:49Speaker 28: I'm curious what you guys. I feel like when I
- 2:00:52Speaker 28: watch I feel like last year when we watched third
- 2:00:55Speaker 28: and long situations, you just kind of side and like
- 2:00:58Speaker 28: we're not getting that now. I feel it's third and
- 2:01:00Speaker 28: short nowhere running the ball, teams nowhere running the ball,
- 2:01:03Speaker 28: and we just can't seem to get two yards.
- 2:01:06Speaker 5: Yeah, we're just getting beat up front. That's that's playing
- 2:01:09Speaker 5: and simple, playing and simple.
- 2:01:10Speaker 25: But did they did some things yesterday? I think have
- 2:01:13Speaker 25: some bones, you know, unbalanced lines.
- 2:01:15Speaker 5: Well, I heard David Andrews this morning and like he said,
- 2:01:18Speaker 5: aside from the goal to go runs. He said he
- 2:01:20Speaker 5: thought the running game was really good last night.
- 2:01:23Speaker 13: I thought it started off pretty I thought Reminder had
- 2:01:26Speaker 13: some good you know, really six yeah, good six yard runs.
- 2:01:30Speaker 13: You know, they get a nine yard or in there somewhere,
- 2:01:32Speaker 13: I thought between the tackles, and then obviously Trevion at
- 2:01:35Speaker 13: the end of the game caught.
- 2:01:36Speaker 12: A thanks Manny had a big yap for a twenty
- 2:01:39Speaker 12: six yards.
- 2:01:39Speaker 4: I think there's.
- 2:01:42Speaker 30: Running Drake is still on the table and they haven't
- 2:01:45Speaker 30: They haven't done that yet, and I think that that
- 2:01:47Speaker 30: might be something that they're saving for late in the season.
- 2:01:50Speaker 5: What do you think about them just flashing that wildcat
- 2:01:53Speaker 5: play to remindre.
- 2:01:54Speaker 25: Yeah, I didn't care for that if was not happening.
- 2:01:57Speaker 5: They did it, and they scored a touchdown.
- 2:01:58Speaker 30: When you when you need to resort to things like
- 2:02:01Speaker 30: the wildcat to get yards on the.
- 2:02:03Speaker 5: Out there, like okay, let's let's just try this, it's
- 2:02:06Speaker 5: kind of think they were resorting to it, like I.
- 2:02:09Speaker 30: Think they're kind of emptying the clip on how to
- 2:02:11Speaker 30: get some short yard.
- 2:02:12Speaker 5: And all right, we're going to be back tomorrow on Wednesday,
- 2:02:16Speaker 5: Catch twenty.
- 2:02:17Speaker 25: Two tomorrow at ten.
- 2:02:18Speaker 5: Barth is going to make time for you.
- 2:02:19Speaker 25: Yes, I'm going to be just as fired up.
- 2:02:21Speaker 5: Okay, all right, we'll see you tomorrow at noon. Thanks
- 2:02:24Speaker 5: for watching today. Hey this is Alex.
