- 0:01Speaker 1: So I get this– today's my first visit with my–
- 0:04Speaker 1: the new cardiologist, right? And I'm not kidding you. Through
- 0:08Speaker 1: the night– I'm sure it's completely psychosomatic. I kind of
- 0:12Speaker 1: feel like I've got, like, pain in my chest all
- 0:17Speaker 1: through the night. And I'm feeling, well, not one arm,
- 0:20Speaker 1: but it's just in the middle of the left side
- 0:22Speaker 1: of my chest. And so now I'm on ChatGP saying,
- 0:24Speaker 1: can my Apple Watch tell me if I'm about to
- 0:27Speaker 1: have a massive heart attack? And ChatGPT says, basically, no, dummy.
- 0:32Speaker 1: There's no watch that's going to tell you if you're
- 0:34Speaker 1: having a heart attack or a stroke. But it's a
- 0:36Speaker 1: weird thing to have this. I went to bed last night.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I started a book. One of my kids ordered me
- 0:41Speaker 1: a book from the Esselstyn diet, and that's Bill Clinton's diet.
- 0:47Speaker 1: And you've got to give up just about anything that
- 0:51Speaker 1: even resembles food.
- 0:53Speaker 2: If you love it, stop eating it, page one.
- 0:55Speaker 1: No kidding. It can't have a– what did it say?
- 0:57Speaker 1: It can't have a face or a mother. Oh, no. Stop?
- 1:02Speaker 1: No eggs.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Is it vegetarian nonsense?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Is it vegan garbage? Yes, it's a plant-based, vegan kind
- 1:08Speaker 1: of a thing. Stop it.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Stop it now.
- 1:10Speaker 1: And the guy writes in the book, no, here's what
- 1:12Speaker 1: he said, though. I guarantee you, you will not have
- 1:15Speaker 1: a heart attack if you can strictly adhere to this.
- 1:18Speaker 1: And I'm like, yeah, but I'm going to be suicidal
- 1:19Speaker 1: all my life because I'm not going to get to
- 1:21Speaker 1: eat anything I want to eat. It's the old saying,
- 1:22Speaker 1: are you living longer or.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Does it just feel that way?
- 1:26Speaker 1: Gosh, I don't know.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Stop it.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I don't know. But honestly, for the record, ChatGPT says
- 1:31Speaker 1: I should be not talking to Mark Davis. I should
- 1:33Speaker 1: be calling 911 right now.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Well, there you are.
- 1:37Speaker 1: But I'd rather talk to you.
- 1:39Speaker 2: The way in which you interacted with ChatGPT, this may
- 1:43Speaker 2: be a podcast subject. Anything we do for 60 seconds here,
- 1:46Speaker 2: we can do for 10 minutes or more on the podcast.
- 1:48Speaker 2: You said something. I don't know that we've talked about it.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I think we have. I don't know. You apparently have one.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I never will. And the answer is Apple Watch. Just no.
- 2:01Speaker 1: You know why? Can I tell you, can I give
- 2:03Speaker 1: you a little example? All right. You resist this stuff, grandpa,
- 2:06Speaker 1: but let me tell you what happened. My new life
- 2:09Speaker 1: is now as part of this, try to be healthier
- 2:11Speaker 1: with heart and everything and wait. I take a long
- 2:14Speaker 1: 30 minute walk every night. It measures, it measures my
- 2:18Speaker 1: heart rate. When I walk, it measures exactly how far
- 2:21Speaker 1: I go. It tells me what the distance is. It
- 2:24Speaker 1: tells me what my, it gives me all these metrics
- 2:26Speaker 1: on my watch based on my walk.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Have you ever heard of the Steps app?
- 2:31Speaker 1: I have it.
- 2:32Speaker 2: It tells me how many steps I've taken. It tells
- 2:33Speaker 2: me how long it's gone. Well, your phone does that anyway.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Your iPhone always keeps you. Just go to the Health app. But,
- 2:40Speaker 2: I mean, it gets into it a little bit more.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I know. And I've never really been a big Apple
- 2:46Speaker 1: Watch guy because it's really just an extension of your phone.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Which is the best.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Point, get it away from me. And I'm half kidding,
- 2:52Speaker 2: but not really, because I'm not a Luddite here. And
- 2:55Speaker 2: in technology, watch that. It's just that if there's anything
- 2:58Speaker 2: I want to do from email, if my wrist goes...
- 3:01Speaker 2: Every time somebody wants me, I'll blow my brains out.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Oh, I know. And that's what happens. And I've got
- 3:06Speaker 1: it on right now. I'm wearing it right now. And now, anybody? Oh, yeah.
- 3:11Speaker 1: It'll blow up. It'll blow up my wrist, and then
- 3:13Speaker 1: I'll get distracted. And I've tried to even distance it
- 3:17Speaker 1: from my phone so it doesn't cut it out. Anyway,
- 3:20Speaker 1: let's get down to some brass tacks. I want to
- 3:22Speaker 1: thank you for your revelation about the Chris Cuomo text
- 3:26Speaker 1: to you. First of all, two things, and for anybody
- 3:29Speaker 1: who missed it, Just repeat what happened after you did
- 3:32Speaker 1: a really good hit on News Nation with Chris Cuomo.
- 3:36Speaker 1: And you've done an appearance with him on a number
- 3:38Speaker 1: of occasions over the last couple of years, right? What
- 3:40Speaker 1: happened after you did the hit?
- 3:42Speaker 2: It's the usual thing. He's the host. Sometimes it's just me,
- 3:47Speaker 2: but sometimes it's me and Chuck Rocha or some other
- 3:49Speaker 2: liberal person back and forth. Everybody loves pairing me with
- 3:52Speaker 2: these people, and I love doing it. So afterward, we
- 3:54Speaker 2: exchanged some appreciative thoughts back and forth, which we always do.
- 3:57Speaker 2: They're always gracious to me. And he, in fact, said
- 4:01Speaker 2: people love when you guys are on. It's disagreement with decency.
- 4:04Speaker 2: And then a postscript. But I cannot wait for you
- 4:08Speaker 2: to be about right and wrong again.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Post. MAGA.
- 4:13Speaker 2: And I'm sure he sent that without thinking about it
- 4:16Speaker 2: or just whatever. But the suggestion there, and I don't
- 4:19Speaker 2: think he means it, is that I am subjugating the
- 4:23Speaker 2: very concepts of right and wrong in order to kiss
- 4:27Speaker 2: the ring or something. And that's why I wrote him back.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I said, dude, I'm about right and wrong every day,
- 4:31Speaker 2: as I'm sure you think you are. And I didn't
- 4:33Speaker 2: do that with any rancor, as I don't think he
- 4:36Speaker 2: did to me. But this is what these people, and
- 4:39Speaker 2: I don't think that Chris Cuomo is a hardcore lib,
- 4:42Speaker 2: but I think he's just one of those sort of
- 4:44Speaker 2: center left denizens of the TV world. But what a
- 4:47Speaker 2: weird thing for him to say.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Well, I don't know that it's that weird for his side.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Let me give you two takeaways. Number one, To insult
- 4:54Speaker 1: you that way, you must have been really good on
- 4:57Speaker 1: the hit. You must have really made an impact. I'm serious.
- 5:02Speaker 1: You must have done very well, as you always do.
- 5:04Speaker 1: You're so good on those segments, whether it's with Will
- 5:06Speaker 1: Kane or Chris Cuomo. They're very smart to use you.
- 5:10Speaker 1: They're very wise to have you. So he knows you
- 5:14Speaker 1: scored some big points. But number two, and I say
- 5:17Speaker 1: this lovingly to you because I know what a big
- 5:19Speaker 1: heart you have, and you're a good faith kind of
- 5:22Speaker 1: a guy. Do you have any comprehension of how he
- 5:25Speaker 1: insulted you? Do you recognize, deep down, do you know
- 5:30Speaker 1: that he's basically telling you, Mark, I can't wait till
- 5:33Speaker 1: you stop lying about how you feel about these political
- 5:37Speaker 1: issues right now.
- 5:38Speaker 2: He's calling me a phony.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You're a complete fraud. He's telling you... that he's propping
- 5:43Speaker 1: you up as a fake, fraud, pretend kind of a guy.
- 5:47Speaker 1: And I'm telling you, Mark, you can laugh it off.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I am really, as your friend, I'm deeply offended and
- 5:54Speaker 1: insulted by him saying that to you because you are
- 5:57Speaker 1: the model of integrity. You're like me. Hey, you own it.
- 6:02Speaker 1: If you make a mistake, I think we both share
- 6:04Speaker 1: that trait. I like doing that. When I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
- 6:07Speaker 1: But we don't, we're not sacrificing our values and our
- 6:12Speaker 1: ethical standards because we happen to be registered Republicans who
- 6:15Speaker 1: think that the Democrats have walked off the cliff into
- 6:18Speaker 1: the valley of crazy. You're a good guy. And I
- 6:22Speaker 1: am personally, I'm seriously, I'm being really serious here. I'm
- 6:26Speaker 1: personally offended and insulted that he would do that. This
- 6:30Speaker 1: is really why I don't go on these shows because
- 6:33Speaker 1: they're not, they don't act in good faith. Now your
- 6:35Speaker 1: attitude is let's go where the, political enemy is.
- 6:38Speaker 2: And I'm always treated graciously. It's kind of funny. I'm
- 6:41Speaker 2: treated better on the show.
- 6:42Speaker 1: You think that's gracious?
- 6:43Speaker 2: They've never said anything to me on the air that
- 6:46Speaker 2: was as dismissive as that stupid text.
- 6:48Speaker 1: That was just really, that was weird. That's not dismissive.
- 6:51Speaker 1: That's an insult. I mean, he's a guy. These people,
- 6:54Speaker 1: it goes back to what we've talked about for years.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Trump hatred breaks these people. It's so personal for them.
- 7:02Speaker 1: It's the wildest thing I think I've ever witnessed in
- 7:04Speaker 1: my life. It's got to be his personality. It's all
- 7:07Speaker 1: I can figure out. They must just not like him
- 7:10Speaker 1: on a personal level, I guess.
- 7:13Speaker 2: There's more. Personality, yes. Success, no.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Success, the overwhelming.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Bill Maher, as we talked about on the podcast yesterday,
- 7:21Speaker 2: having to admit Bill Maher's words, Trump's a badass. When
- 7:24Speaker 2: you have an FAFO president say hello to my little friend,
- 7:28Speaker 2: take no prisoners kind of guy, crime is going to
- 7:31Speaker 2: go down. It is if Trump were not successful, if
- 7:33Speaker 2: he were not rewriting politics, redefining society with the MAGA agenda,
- 7:38Speaker 2: it wouldn't be as mean to him or to us.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Well, and we are right now, I believe the midterm
- 7:44Speaker 1: election is going to be a referendum on good versus evil.
- 7:47Speaker 1: More than half of U.S. college students, this just came out,
- 7:51Speaker 1: more than half of U.S. college students say controversial speakers
- 7:54Speaker 1: have to be banned from their campuses. And there's a
- 7:58Speaker 1: record high number of college kids believing that violence is
- 8:01Speaker 1: acceptable to stop controversial speakers. There's over 300,000—it's an expansive
- 8:09Speaker 1: study— 300, 000 college undergrads nationwide by a group called the Foundation
- 8:14Speaker 1: for Individual Rights and Expression. About 40% of students say
- 8:20Speaker 1: speakers should be allowed to say abortion should be completely illegal,
- 8:24Speaker 1: down from 45% in the study. But again, the violence,
- 8:29Speaker 1: the percentage of students who support violent tactics, an astonishing 34%
- 8:37Speaker 1: of college students nationally believe that violence is perfectly acceptable
- 8:43Speaker 1: to stop someone from speaking on a college level. 34 percent, Mark.
- 8:50Speaker 2: These are the kind of young people, young people were growing.
- 8:52Speaker 2: And it's not just young people who feel that way.
- 8:54Speaker 2: There was a poll while I was away. So only
- 8:56Speaker 2: paid glancing attention to it. Maybe you did more. Somebody
- 8:59Speaker 2: crafted a really interesting question. They told people, we're going
- 9:02Speaker 2: to give you four or five ways for Trump to
- 9:04Speaker 2: leave office. Which one do you like? One of them
- 9:06Speaker 2: was like 25th Amendment. One of them was like a
- 9:09Speaker 2: military coup. One of them was him getting assassinated. And
- 9:13Speaker 2: there were like 20-some percent who went, assassination is good
- 9:16Speaker 2: for me.
- 9:17Speaker 1: What? It's like Charlie's assassination sort of emboldened a lot
- 9:23Speaker 1: of people to say, well, we did it. I mean,
- 9:26Speaker 1: we hated his voice. It worked. We stopped his voice.
- 9:30Speaker 1: And guess what? Look, they're not wrong when you consider
- 9:35Speaker 1: the supposedly Trump's underwater now with young people and independents.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Who did Charlie Kirk reach? Young people and independents. And,
- 9:46Speaker 1: you know, so there is a big picture, horrible, horrible
- 9:51Speaker 1: horror movie kind of an outcome here where they're looking
- 9:55Speaker 1: at this saying, well, we got that guy. Now why
- 9:58Speaker 1: can't we get somebody next? Who's next? on the list?
- 10:00Speaker 1: I mean, I did this event in Los Angeles this weekend.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Nick Shirley, you don't think he came with security? He's 24.
- 10:07Speaker 1: This is a kid. 24 years old. He's got the
- 10:09Speaker 1: kid with the hoodie. There he is in Flushing, Queens
- 10:12Speaker 1: this week interviewing a guy that's got, again, a big
- 10:17Speaker 1: fraud central. He claimed he has 7,000 clients, and he
- 10:22Speaker 1: was making millions of dollars. The guy said, well, I
- 10:25Speaker 1: don't have 7,000 clients. And Nick Shirley's got the paperwork.
- 10:28Speaker 1: He said, well, this is from the government. You say
- 10:30Speaker 1: you do. You're making money off of this. This kid's
- 10:32Speaker 1: exposing so much fraud, and what do they want to do?
- 10:35Speaker 1: They want to kill him.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Of course they do.
- 10:36Speaker 1: They want to kill him.
- 10:37Speaker 2: It's the go-to.
- 10:38Speaker 1: That's the, are you kidding? Mark. I know. So you're
- 10:42Speaker 1: going to pull the lever for a political party that
- 10:44Speaker 1: supports that? Where are the Democrats condemning the threats of
- 10:48Speaker 1: violence against Nick Shirley? Where's the condemnation for this study
- 10:52Speaker 1: out of, you know, of these college kids? Hundreds of
- 10:55Speaker 1: thousands of college kids. Name one Democrat who's going to
- 10:58Speaker 1: say that's out. There is one, John Fetterman. That's about it.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Harold Ford Jr. on the five. Or maybe Jessica.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Carlin on a good night. Yeah, and he just wants
- 11:05Speaker 1: the gig. And he likes the gig.
- 11:06Speaker 2: He just likes the gig. But real elected Democrats in power,
- 11:10Speaker 2: you're right, their silence is deafening.
- 11:12Speaker 1: And by the way, shame on me. I just did
- 11:14Speaker 1: to Harold Ford what Chris Cuomo did to you. I
- 11:16Speaker 1: shouldn't say that. I do think like Carol tries really
- 11:19Speaker 1: hard to just go along to get along, but maybe
- 11:22Speaker 1: he's just a true moderate.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I think he's for real.
- 11:24Speaker 1: He might be real. I hope he's the real deal.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I know people who know him.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Well, if you know people who know him, you write
- 11:31Speaker 1: an email for me. And you say, stop that dumb
- 11:35Speaker 1: habit he's got. Sometimes they mock him for it. Whenever
- 11:38Speaker 1: they go to him, great to be around the table
- 11:41Speaker 1: with you. Yesterday it was, oh, I hope you all
- 11:44Speaker 1: had a good weekend. Boy, it was quite a college
- 11:46Speaker 1: football day. I'm thinking. They're not asking you about college football.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Get into the answer. Stop it. He's humanizing himself. Oh,
- 11:55Speaker 1: it's contrived. It's trite. Let me run Fox News. There'd
- 12:00Speaker 1: be a different play. And that Jessica Tarloff had sent
- 12:03Speaker 1: her packing right there with that other one, that red-haired
- 12:05Speaker 1: woman that's insufferable. What's the red-haired woman that she's– She's
- 12:09Speaker 1: like a Jessica Tartt, but she pretends to be a newswoman.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Does she sit in the lib seat sometimes?
- 12:14Speaker 1: Well, not really, but she pretends to be objective. She's
- 12:17Speaker 1: real pretty, red hair. It's not Jessica. Now, what's her name?
- 12:22Speaker 2: Somebody's going to text us.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Somebody, please text me.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I'll tell everybody on the other side, because I know
- 12:26Speaker 2: she usually sits in the- Jillian. Jillian Turner. Jillian Turner, yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 2: She sits in the Dana Bruno seat sometimes.
- 12:34Speaker 1: That's right. She doesn't belong in the Dana Perino seat.
- 12:37Speaker 1: She should be in the Jessica seat. Now, look at me.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I'm like a lunatic with my– I'm like walking in
- 12:41Speaker 1: and watching a soap opera, getting into what Harold says
- 12:45Speaker 1: and what– Who ought to be in that chair? Who's
- 12:47Speaker 1: being mean to me? And for what it's worth. And
- 12:50Speaker 1: The Five is the number one cable-rated show in America still.
- 12:54Speaker 2: It's magnificent. It's the chemistry. It's the fun.
- 12:57Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 12:58Speaker 2: It's the wink and a nod. It's Gutfeld, Waters, The
- 13:00Speaker 2: Sweetness of Dana– And now the new one. She's fine.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Do you like her? Oh, you don't like her. No, no, no.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I misjudge Janine.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I like Kennedy.
- 13:16Speaker 2: But here's the way. Kennedy is, I think, the only
- 13:18Speaker 2: human being who's been on the far left, and I
- 13:21Speaker 2: just mean geographically far left, conservative woman's seat, and also
- 13:24Speaker 2: in the lib chair. When they can't find a lib,
- 13:26Speaker 2: they stick Kennedy in there because she's kind of a
- 13:27Speaker 2: lib bird.
- 13:28Speaker 1: They went real blue yesterday. It was very funny and awkward.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Did you see that moment?
- 13:35Speaker 2: I did indeed.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Between Greg and Jesse. I did. I did.
- 13:39Speaker 2: And that's part of what I mean, too. They're just
- 13:41Speaker 2: having a lot. You know what it is? It's like
- 13:43Speaker 2: another partnership I know. They're just having a lot of fun.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Gosh, I had somebody tell me yesterday, an email said,
- 13:50Speaker 1: what you guys do together on your podcast is simply
- 13:53Speaker 1: an extension of what you do every morning on Mark's show.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I can't miss it. I love it. And what they
- 13:58Speaker 1: like about the podcast, you can listen to it whenever
- 14:01Speaker 1: you want or watch it whenever you want. YouTube, Apple, Spotify,
- 14:04Speaker 1: M & M Extra. And I've added a new feature.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Just text the keyword podcast to 800-655-MIKE. We'll send the...
- 14:12Speaker 1: We'll send you the M & M Extra link right
- 14:14Speaker 1: to your phone. Take us with you wherever you go.
- 14:17Speaker 1: And hopefully I won't be in the emergency room. Exactly.
- 14:21Speaker 1: If he survives the morning, we'll see it a little bit.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I'll be taking my blood pressure every three minutes. Goodbye.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I love you. M & M Extra.
- 14:28Speaker 2: It's the podcast version of this.
