- 0:57Speaker 3: It's nice to have the ability to plan certain things again.
- 1:01Speaker 2: And if you're a Caps fan and you're feeling some
- 1:03Speaker 2: sort of way, there's always something positive to be found
- 1:07Speaker 2: when it comes to professional sporting events.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Ovie is still a cap well for now. You know,
- 1:13Speaker 4: that's a reason to be happy.

- 3:03Speaker 7: If so, which one do you do first?

- 3:09Speaker 5: say that timing your toothbrushing really does matter more than
- 3:13Speaker 5: you think. They recommend that you brush your teeth before
- 3:16Speaker 5: you drink your coffee, not after. Partly cloudieskuis today expect
- 3:20Speaker 5: a high of eighty five right now, we're currently at
- 3:23Speaker 5: seventy one and Lorton and.
- 3:24Speaker 4: That's the news. With Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Remember you get top stories at the top of the
- 3:29Speaker 2: hour coming up in just a few We want to
- 3:31Speaker 2: talk about you this morning.
- 3:33Speaker 4: How are you doing? How are we doing?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Maybe this morning's morning mindset will help all of us
- 3:39Speaker 2: together as we get ready to tackle a new Friday
- 3:42Speaker 2: and slide into the weekend. God willing, But if not,
- 3:45Speaker 2: maybe this will help you turn your day around. You'll
- 3:47Speaker 2: hear it in just minutes. Stay right there, Toby and
- 3:51Speaker 2: Chilly in the Morning in Washington's Variety of the eighties,
- 3:53Speaker 2: nineties and today here at ninety seven point one Wash FM.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Thank you for waking up with us as we turn
- 3:59Speaker 2: our attention to what you are going through and as
- 4:02Speaker 2: a result, you know kind of what we're all going
- 4:04Speaker 2: through this morning.
- 4:05Speaker 3: So we like to find a quote to share with
- 4:07Speaker 3: you and Toby every Friday, because it is when we
- 4:10Speaker 3: kick off our best of the eighties and nineties weekend
- 4:12Speaker 3: of five PM. Finds a lyric from a song and
- 4:15Speaker 3: what is it by today?
- 4:17Speaker 2: Temple of the Dog, which was this collaboration between Pearl
- 4:20Speaker 2: Jam and Soundgarden. Chris Cornell and the Guys and Pearl
- 4:25Speaker 2: Jam made up this like supergroup back in nineteen ninety
- 4:29Speaker 2: one and they had a song that was all over
- 4:32Speaker 2: the radio back then. It was called Hunger Strike and
- 4:36Speaker 2: the lyric this morning is I don't mind stealing bread
- 4:39Speaker 2: from the mouths of decadence. Think about that. I know
- 4:42Speaker 2: it's kind of very heady. I don't mind stealing bread
- 4:45Speaker 2: from the mouths of decadence. So what does this mean
- 4:48Speaker 2: and why is important? You got to stand for something
- 4:51Speaker 2: bigger than comfort. Think about it. You've got to stand
- 4:56Speaker 2: for something bigger than comfort, their safety and complacency. Comfortable
- 5:01Speaker 2: isn't always the best place to stand.
- 5:06Speaker 4: You know.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Sometimes when you leave the comfort zone, you realize that
- 5:10Speaker 2: you do stand for something bigger. Keep that in mind,
- 5:13Speaker 2: and if you want to actually hear the song, I'll
- 5:16Speaker 2: post a link to the video for you on the
- 5:18Speaker 2: Toby and chilipage at waschefm dot com. You can get
- 5:20Speaker 2: the quote of course, on Instagram, Facebook and more. And
- 5:24Speaker 2: if you've got something that inspires you send it our
- 5:27Speaker 2: way and perhaps we could use it on Monday right
- 5:29Speaker 2: here in this place.
- 5:31Speaker 4: With another morning mindset for you.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Now, stay with Toby and Chili in the morning on
- 5:35Speaker 2: this Friday, because coming up in just minutes.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Gen Zers have figured out a way to afford a home,
- 5:41Speaker 3: buying a home a little riot, but is it really
- 5:43Speaker 3: a good plan. Well we're going to discuss all that
- 5:46Speaker 3: in just a few minutes.
- 5:47Speaker 2: All right, stay there, gen Z starting to lead the
- 5:50Speaker 2: way when it comes to buying a home. Toby and
- 5:54Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven point one washe fm?
- 5:57Speaker 2: Wait till you hear what the Generation Z types have
- 6:01Speaker 2: come up with when it comes to home ownership.
- 6:03Speaker 3: They're getting together with friends, they're pulling their mother mother money,
- 6:07Speaker 3: and they're buying a house together. And of course they
- 6:11Speaker 3: are splitting the costs and they're building equity as a team. Wow. Okay,
- 6:15Speaker 3: so you know, so many thoughts, so many thoughts, right,
- 6:18Speaker 3: so let's start with the smart part of this. Great
- 6:22Speaker 3: everybody pitches in a certain amount, maybe for down payment
- 6:24Speaker 3: or whatever, and then they split the costs of the mortgage. Right,
- 6:28Speaker 3: But then what happens if things go south?
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you have a friend falling out who's going to
- 6:34Speaker 2: end up with the house because you know, like if
- 6:36Speaker 2: I mean, it's going to be like War of the Roses,
- 6:38Speaker 2: only you're not married.
- 6:39Speaker 3: But there's like five of you. Then what happens, Oh lord,
- 6:42Speaker 3: because it's several friends, it's not just a friend.
- 6:45Speaker 2: So what would you do if you had thee that's
- 6:48Speaker 2: got in order? And think about around here. If you
- 6:50Speaker 2: were to do that, you get a four bedroom house.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Around here, We're talking a lot of money.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Which is why they're pulling their money together.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yeah, so they pull their money together, but then they
- 6:58Speaker 2: have a friend fallout and chipoo exactly.
- 7:01Speaker 3: There's a lot of logistical things that they would have
- 7:04Speaker 3: to think through if one of them gets married, if
- 7:06Speaker 3: one of them wants the boyfriend to move in or
- 7:08Speaker 3: girlfriend to move in, what happens then. But at the
- 7:11Speaker 3: base of this, we all understand it's expensive and really
- 7:15Speaker 3: hard to own.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, in many hands do make light work,
- 7:19Speaker 2: especially when it comes to money. But think about all
- 7:21Speaker 2: the extra money you're gonna have to spend because you're
- 7:23Speaker 2: gonna have to take on legal fees to plan for
- 7:26Speaker 2: the fact that things could go south. Right, and then
- 7:28Speaker 2: if things do go south, how are y'all going to
- 7:30Speaker 2: separate it all?
- 7:32Speaker 8: Oh?
- 7:32Speaker 3: No, I know it's hard enough as it is, like
- 7:35Speaker 3: in a divorce or when you're in a roommate situation
- 7:38Speaker 3: and you're renting, right, This takes it to a whole
- 7:40Speaker 3: new level of ownership. But it's a trend that's starting out,
- 7:44Speaker 3: and I think when things start to go sideways, that
- 7:47Speaker 3: trend is going to come to an end.
- 7:48Speaker 4: You have TikTok will blow up with people all fighting.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I bought a house with my hive best friend and
- 7:55Speaker 4: then it went bad.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Now on the flip side, I think this is a
- 7:58Speaker 3: great idea for the above fifty divorcees or widowers because
- 8:02Speaker 3: you know what, Golden girls, it worked.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Thank you for being a friend.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Work later.
- 8:07Speaker 4: That's right, you've got time, gen Z.
- 8:09Speaker 2: If you want to read more about this, get to
- 8:11Speaker 2: the Toby and Chilly page at washfm dot com and
- 8:14Speaker 2: stay with us because we've got top stories at the
- 8:16Speaker 2: top of the hour on the way.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Just a few.
- 8:20Speaker 2: If you're a fan of eighties icons, this is going
- 8:23Speaker 2: to be a great weekend for you. Ninety seven point
- 8:25Speaker 2: one wash FM with Toby and Chilly in the morning
- 8:28Speaker 2: because all weekend long, you stay with us and you could.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Win tickets to see John Mellencamp at Jiffy Lube Live
- 8:34Speaker 3: July twenty ninth.
- 8:35Speaker 4: It's all weekend long right here.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Ninety seven point one WASHFM Washington, an iHeartRadio station coming
- 8:43Speaker 1: up on Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 8:45Speaker 5: New program at George Mason could be changing a lot
- 8:47Speaker 5: of lives.
- 8:48Speaker 7: We'll give you all the details in minutes.
- 8:52Speaker 6: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 8:54Speaker 5: President Trump says Iran wants to negotiate. Speaking to reporters
- 8:58Speaker 5: outside of the White House yesterday, Trump said that Iran
- 9:01Speaker 5: is willing to do things today that they weren't two
- 9:04Speaker 5: months ago. FBI currently looking into DNA it recovered from
- 9:09Speaker 5: the home of Nancy Guthrie in southern Arizona. According to
- 9:13Speaker 5: ABC News, a private lab in Florida sent the DNA
- 9:17Speaker 5: to the FBI in the last couple days, and the
- 9:19Speaker 5: agency is using new technology to see if they can
- 9:23Speaker 5: pinpoint a suspect. Montgomery County Police are asking for your
- 9:28Speaker 5: help and identifying a man for stealing silver bars worth
- 9:33Speaker 5: about twenty five thousand dollars. Investigators say that he was
- 9:38Speaker 5: waiting in the driveway of a home in Nadine Drive
- 9:40Speaker 5: in Rockdill on February twenty fifth. He pretended to be
- 9:44Speaker 5: the homeowner and accepted delivery of the silver bars from FedEx.
- 9:48Speaker 5: George Mason University is offering a new program to help
- 9:52Speaker 5: eligible families afford tuition. The university's Revolutionary Promise Program will
- 9:58Speaker 5: pay all tuition costs for students from local families making
- 10:02Speaker 5: less than one hundred thousand dollars a year. Money for
- 10:05Speaker 5: the scholarships comes from donations and the recent sale of
- 10:08Speaker 5: the university Science and Technology campus. For a long time, Raves,
- 10:12Speaker 5: we're all about excess late nights, loud music, and help
- 10:15Speaker 5: pushing your limits.
- 10:17Speaker 7: But that's starting to change.
- 10:19Speaker 5: A new wave of events is rethinking the dance floor
- 10:22Speaker 5: is a place for connection, release and wellness. Today's Wellness
- 10:26Speaker 5: Raves deliberately mix music, movement, and mindfulness. A little bit
- 10:31Speaker 5: cooler today, partly clouding with a high of eighty five
- 10:33Speaker 5: currently seventy three, and wheat.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And that is the news, Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 10:38Speaker 2: You get top stories at the top of the hour.
- 10:40Speaker 2: And if you stay right there, we got to talk
- 10:43Speaker 2: to you about a very embarrassing time you ended up
- 10:46Speaker 2: at urgent care. Maybe the eer you heard what happened
- 10:50Speaker 2: to a Real Housewives star Brandy Glanville right If you didn't,
- 10:54Speaker 2: you will in minutes. And of course we're gonna want
- 10:57Speaker 2: to get your take on it, and we want to
- 10:59Speaker 2: know if something happened to you, something hilarious or embarrassing
- 11:03Speaker 2: that caused you it up in the er or urgent care.
- 11:06Speaker 2: We'll get to that coming up in Mendicotes Toby and
- 11:09Speaker 2: Tilly in the morning. It is ninety seven point one.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Watch FM Friday in the Nation's Capital. Did you see
- 11:15Speaker 2: this in page six?
- 11:16Speaker 4: This week?
- 11:17Speaker 2: Seems one of the Real Housewives had to go to
- 11:20Speaker 2: an urgent care facility.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Well, do you know Brandy Glanville, she's in the Real Housewives,
- 11:26Speaker 3: and she was following some TikTok medical advice, Oh boy,
- 11:30Speaker 3: which probably wasn't such a great idea to beget it
- 11:32Speaker 3: with number one, But okay. She said that TikTok recommended
- 11:35Speaker 3: garlic to help with common cold. Then Brandy says, well,
- 11:38Speaker 3: I tried it up my nostril, but it burned so much,
- 11:40Speaker 3: so I decided to put the garlic in my ear.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Too bad it got stuck in there, Toby, because she
- 11:45Speaker 3: ended up thanzy.
- 11:47Speaker 2: That has nothing to do with the nasal passages. Why
- 11:52Speaker 2: would you do that?
- 11:54Speaker 3: I mean, sticking it in your ear canal and not
- 11:57Speaker 3: being able to get it out.
- 11:58Speaker 2: She must have jammed it in there. I mean abso craziness.
- 12:02Speaker 3: And then imagine when you show up in the emergency
- 12:05Speaker 3: situation and have to explain to them the silliness that
- 12:09Speaker 3: led to this as an adult, like, okay, you know what,
- 12:12Speaker 3: I will get it out, but now you're gonna be humiliating.
- 12:15Speaker 4: That's what's even worse. Like as an adult she had
- 12:17Speaker 4: that happened.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Did you ever have anything like that happen, like when
- 12:20Speaker 2: you were younger or as an adult?
- 12:23Speaker 3: I mean, the stupidest way I've ever injured myself is
- 12:25Speaker 3: trying to open a package and stabbing my finger, and
- 12:27Speaker 3: that happened less than a year ago.
- 12:29Speaker 4: You had to have stitches on my finger?
- 12:31Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, I didn't, But whatever, I was embarrassed, but
- 12:35Speaker 3: nowhere near as embarrassed as she probably was with the
- 12:38Speaker 3: garlic clove car.
- 12:38Speaker 4: What about very embarrassed?
- 12:40Speaker 3: What about you?
- 12:40Speaker 4: Yeah, what happened? Very embarrassed.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Once upon a time, I was playing football, and when
- 12:44Speaker 2: I was growing up in Texas, and I was wearing loafers,
- 12:47Speaker 2: like shorts with loafers, don't ask. Well, I went after
- 12:50Speaker 2: a pass and I kicked the curve and dislocated my
- 12:53Speaker 2: big toe to where it was like at a ninety
- 12:55Speaker 2: degree Oh gross, yeah, and so let's just say the
- 12:59Speaker 2: shoe came off and I ended up at the hospital
- 13:02Speaker 2: in the er where they reset the toe.
- 13:05Speaker 4: That was just painful.
- 13:06Speaker 3: And that was the last time you wore loafers playing football.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Let that be a cautionary tale, ladies and gentlemen. And
- 13:12Speaker 2: it was embarrassing. My dad has a good laugh about
- 13:15Speaker 2: it now. But yeah, do you ever have to go
- 13:17Speaker 2: to urgent care or the er for something hilarious or
- 13:21Speaker 2: something embarrassing?
- 13:22Speaker 4: What did you do?
- 13:23Speaker 2: Eight six six, nineteen seven forty three sixty one. You
- 13:26Speaker 2: can call us to jump in with your stories, or
- 13:29Speaker 2: you can tap the talk back microphone networks and it's
- 13:32Speaker 2: easy if you're signed into your iHeart app. Just use
- 13:34Speaker 2: it and we will circle back on this coming up
- 13:37Speaker 2: with Toby and Chilly.
- 13:38Speaker 4: In the Morning.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I mean, I expect ridiculousness when you're a kid, but
- 13:42Speaker 2: to be Brandy Glanville's age, putting things up your nose
- 13:46Speaker 2: and in your ear and then ending.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Up in the er, it's just ridiculous.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the Morning ninety seven point one
- 13:52Speaker 2: Wash FM.
- 13:53Speaker 3: In case you missed it earlier, we were talking about
- 13:54Speaker 3: how the Real Housewives star put garlic in her ear
- 13:58Speaker 3: because she saw that on tip talk you get help
- 14:00Speaker 3: with the common cold.
- 14:02Speaker 2: H And it helped all right, because she probably got
- 14:05Speaker 2: some medicine for that cold when she was at the
- 14:07Speaker 2: er or urgent care. Eight six six nine two three
- 14:11Speaker 2: sixty one is the number. Call us and tell us
- 14:13Speaker 2: if you've ever had to go to urgent care or
- 14:15Speaker 2: the er for a hilarious or embarrassing reason.
- 14:19Speaker 4: We'll laugh along with you.
- 14:21Speaker 2: And let's get started with George, who's been hanging in
- 14:24Speaker 2: sterling to jump in.
- 14:26Speaker 4: So, George, what'd you do? I?
- 14:28Speaker 9: I cut my finger off with a broom How the
- 14:31Speaker 9: heck did that happen? I was sleeping in my garage
- 14:35Speaker 9: and the broomhead kept falling off, so I took it
- 14:37Speaker 9: out in the yard and I hit it against a
- 14:40Speaker 9: telephone pole and it was a metal room handle, So
- 14:43Speaker 9: I just wrapped around the telephone pole, came back and
- 14:45Speaker 9: cut my finger off.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Well, well, well that sounds horrible. Then what happened?
- 14:50Speaker 9: I just walked in and the reattached it the best
- 14:54Speaker 9: they could.
- 14:54Speaker 3: George, next time, just get a roomba.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and spent some time watching Home Improvement. I'll avoid
- 15:00Speaker 2: these common disasters. When it comes to handling things that
- 15:04Speaker 2: are like brooms. But thanks for calling this morning. Now
- 15:07Speaker 2: to Germantown, Jody, what's up.
- 15:09Speaker 8: We had bunk bed as a kid, and we were
- 15:12Speaker 8: just like hopping along on the top bunk bed for
- 15:14Speaker 8: some reason, just playing on there, and my sister falls
- 15:18Speaker 8: off of it.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Ooh, that does not sound good.
- 15:21Speaker 8: So she falls onto a toy truck and then she
- 15:23Speaker 8: turns to my older sister. My older sister's like, oh, no,
- 15:27Speaker 8: nothing's there.
- 15:28Speaker 3: And then I turned around.
- 15:29Speaker 8: I'm like, are you crazy? There's a middle gash in
- 15:31Speaker 8: the butt.
- 15:34Speaker 6: And so she had to go.
- 15:35Speaker 8: To the er to get her butt stitch.
- 15:37Speaker 2: So your mom took her to the doctor and the
- 15:39Speaker 2: doctor said, no more monkeys jumping on the bed. You
- 15:43Speaker 2: know you walked right into that, Jody, But thanks for calling.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Now hang out. We're Toby and Chilly in the Morning
- 15:48Speaker 2: here at ninety seven point one wash FM. We've got
- 15:51Speaker 2: top stories at the top of the hour coming up.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Get ready to see an international superstar when she comes
- 15:57Speaker 2: to the region this summer. It's ninety seven point one
- 16:00Speaker 2: watch FM Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
- 16:02Speaker 3: We're talking about Shakira at CFG Bank Arena July sixth,

- 17:48Speaker 7: Parade starting at one thirty.
- 17:50Speaker 5: It's pretty common to wake up in the middle of
- 17:52Speaker 5: the night and then you quickly fall back to sleep,
- 17:54Speaker 5: but there is one thing that could make it harder.
- 17:57Speaker 7: According to sleep experts, saying not to.
- 18:00Speaker 5: Check the time if you wake up early, because it
- 18:03Speaker 5: could trick your brain into thinking you could be alert
- 18:07Speaker 5: and making it much harder for you to fall back
- 18:09Speaker 5: to sleep. Gonna be a little bit cooler today, partly
- 18:12Speaker 5: cloudy with a high of eighty five currently seventy three

- 18:26Speaker 3: you a big hint. It's a beverage.
- 18:28Speaker 2: M okay eight sixty six nine two seven forty three
- 18:32Speaker 2: sixty one. That that's a good walk. If it's a
- 18:34Speaker 2: good beverage, you know there's a good reason for that walk.
- 18:37Speaker 2: If you know the answer, call us now eat six
- 18:39Speaker 2: six nineteen seven forty three sixty one Shakira. You'll be
- 18:43Speaker 2: there see IFG Bank Arena in July thanks to Live Nation.
- 18:46Speaker 2: If you get it right, here's the question again.

- 18:50Speaker 3: burn this off?
- 18:52Speaker 4: What is it?
- 18:53Speaker 2: If you know the answer, call now take the tickets

- 19:04Speaker 2: Let's get that question one more time, Chillia Mare.
- 19:07Speaker 3: A person has to walk for forty four minutes to
- 19:09Speaker 3: burn this off? What is it?
- 19:11Speaker 4: Marite is here from Sponsylvania.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Marizza, you got the question for these tickets to see
- 19:16Speaker 2: Shakira in Baltimore and CFG Bank Arena July sixth, thanks
- 19:21Speaker 2: to Live Nation.
- 19:22Speaker 4: What's your guess?
- 19:23Speaker 9: The glass of wine?
- 19:25Speaker 4: A glass of wine?
- 19:26Speaker 2: Do you find that after you drink a glass or
- 19:29Speaker 2: two or three, or a bottle that you need to
- 19:32Speaker 2: take forty four minutes to burn it off.
- 19:34Speaker 6: Well, normally I'm just relaxing after that.
- 19:37Speaker 4: So you're saying you skip the walk and you just
- 19:40Speaker 4: pass out.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm much more like it.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Because if you were to try to take a forty
- 19:44Speaker 2: four minute walk after that bottle of wine, you'd be
- 19:46Speaker 2: all stumbling and whatnot. People'd be very concerned. Yes, well,
- 19:52Speaker 2: don't slam a bottle of wine before you go see Shakira.
- 19:54Speaker 2: You might have to drive to get to Baltimer, but
- 19:57Speaker 2: I would make an overnight out of it so you
- 19:59Speaker 2: could have plenty of wine at this show.
- 20:01Speaker 4: Congratulations, tickets are yours. Thank you so much, thanks to
- 20:04Speaker 4: Live Nation.
- 20:05Speaker 2: These tickets to see Shakira belong to YOUCFG Bank Arena

- 20:18Speaker 2: Teddy Swims, make sure you listen. We've got tickets for
- 20:22Speaker 2: you to see Teddy when it comes to Town Capitol
- 20:24Speaker 2: one Arena October thirteenth. Be here after the weekend Monday morning,
- 20:28Speaker 2: right around this time for your chance to play and
- 20:31Speaker 2: win and stay with us, because next with Toby and
- 20:33Speaker 2: Chilly in the Morning, a story that we feel might
- 20:36Speaker 2: just make you feel good on this Friday. In Montgomery County,
- 20:41Speaker 2: they're doing something to make sure that no pet goes
- 20:45Speaker 2: hungry this summer. You'll find out what they're doing and
- 20:47Speaker 2: how you can help. Next with Toby and Chilly in
- 20:50Speaker 2: the Morning. Oh well, look at the time on a
- 20:53Speaker 2: Friday morning. You know what time it is. It's time
- 20:55Speaker 2: for us to share a story with you that we
- 20:57Speaker 2: found that we think will make you feel good on
- 21:00Speaker 2: a Friday, because that's what we do here at ninety
- 21:03Speaker 2: seven point one WASHINGFM with Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 21:05Speaker 2: So we go to Montgomery County, that big part of
- 21:07Speaker 2: the DMV where they are really stepping up big time
- 21:11Speaker 2: to help families that are having a tough time keeping
- 21:13Speaker 2: their pets fed, especially with summer right around the corner.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Did you hear what the County's Office of Animal Services
- 21:21Speaker 2: is up to.
- 21:22Speaker 3: They're rolling out some free pet food pantries at two
- 21:25Speaker 3: different locations to make it easier for folks to get
- 21:28Speaker 3: the help they need. So these pop up pantries are
- 21:31Speaker 3: going to be running through the end of June, offering
- 21:34Speaker 3: food on select days every week. One of them is
- 21:37Speaker 3: in Rockville at the Shrine of Saint Jude Thadius, and
- 21:39Speaker 3: then the other one is at the Counties Animal Services
- 21:42Speaker 3: and Adoption Center in Derwood.
- 21:44Speaker 2: And it's a great idea because just like people m
- 21:48Speaker 2: h our, pets should not have to go hungry. But
- 21:50Speaker 2: it's not just about giving out food this program. They're
- 21:54Speaker 2: encouraging all of us to pitch in by giving small,
- 21:58Speaker 2: unopened bags of pet food so that we can keep
- 22:01Speaker 2: the effort to make sure the animals stay fed going,
- 22:04Speaker 2: and County officials say the goal is to make sure
- 22:06Speaker 2: that families don't have to make the choice between feeding
- 22:10Speaker 2: themselves or feeding their pets.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Yeah, and by providing the support, they're helping people keep
- 22:15Speaker 3: their animals at home where they belong. If you want
- 22:18Speaker 3: to read more about it or help it out, you
- 22:20Speaker 3: can find the information on the Toby and chilipage at
- 22:23Speaker 3: washefm dot com.
- 22:24Speaker 2: How can you not feel good on a Friday with
- 22:27Speaker 2: a story about helping to make sure the animals that
- 22:30Speaker 2: we love, our forever friends stay fed.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Now coming up with ninety seven.

- 24:21Speaker 5: The event is going to run June twenty fifth through
- 24:24Speaker 5: July tenth and span from the US capital to the
- 24:27Speaker 5: Washington Monument. Washington, DC's Department of Transportation is outlining the
- 24:32Speaker 5: challenges that may be ahead of autonomous vehicles in DC.
- 24:36Speaker 5: The agency released a report earlier this month that looks
- 24:39Speaker 5: into the technology and the way other city and states
- 24:42Speaker 5: handle it. One note from the report discusses the infrastructure
- 24:46Speaker 5: challenges and the need for updated traffic signals, digital maps,
- 24:51Speaker 5: and standardized curbs. One in five of US is dealing
- 24:56Speaker 5: with anxiety and now panic pouches are becoming helpful to
- 25:01Speaker 5: combat it.
- 25:02Speaker 7: What is a panic pouch?
- 25:04Speaker 5: There's small bags that are a mental health first aid
- 25:07Speaker 5: kit with essentials to call users. They can include photos

- 25:29Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning Here at ninety seven
- 25:31Speaker 2: point one WASH FM. Back in just minutes, we're going
- 25:34Speaker 2: to talk about societal norms that you are just over.
- 25:40Speaker 2: We'll tell you why we're bringing it up, and then
- 25:41Speaker 2: of course we want to hear from you two at
- 25:43Speaker 2: eighty sixty six ninety two seven forty three sixty one.
- 25:46Speaker 2: So if there's something that society says is normal and
- 25:49Speaker 2: you're just done with it, feel free to call and
- 25:52Speaker 2: join the conversation that we get into coming up. Hey,
- 25:55Speaker 2: grab the phone and call eight sixty six nine two

- 26:03Speaker 2: to ninety seven point one watch FM Toby and Chilly
- 26:06Speaker 2: in the morning. Question for you, is there a societal norm?
- 26:10Speaker 2: Is there something that everybody just accepts is the way
- 26:14Speaker 2: society should be? That you're over I don't care what
- 26:17Speaker 2: everybody else thinks. I'm over it. If so, what is it?
- 26:20Speaker 2: And why we're.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Talking about this because I don't know. If you saw
- 26:22Speaker 3: Drew Barrymore on her show earlier this week, she got
- 26:26Speaker 3: very real about comfort and aging, saying that she is
- 26:30Speaker 3: officially done with wearing.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Bras liberating herself.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Yes, instead, she'd rather wear a leotard because it's more comfortable,
- 26:38Speaker 3: and yes it doesn't support the girls as well as
- 26:41Speaker 3: a bra, but she don't care, And I say, good
- 26:45Speaker 3: for you, honey.
- 26:46Speaker 2: That's right. You don't have to be a slave to fashion.
- 26:48Speaker 2: You need to be a slave to what makes you comfortable,
- 26:51Speaker 2: just like Drew Barrymore. No matter how your body might
- 26:54Speaker 2: change over time, you do what feels good.
- 26:57Speaker 3: That's right. That's why I stop wearing panty. It was
- 27:00Speaker 3: a long time ago. I don't care, me too.
- 27:02Speaker 2: I stopped wearing pantyhose and I will no longer wear
- 27:06Speaker 2: thongs because they just are not comfortable chili. They're just
- 27:09Speaker 2: not Good morning John in Langley. Is there some sort
- 27:12Speaker 2: of a norm that you are over?
- 27:14Speaker 4: What is it? I'm done with shoelaces.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Life's too short for that nonsense, So I think it's
- 27:18Speaker 3: slip on shoes from here on out. You sound like
- 27:21Speaker 3: my twelve year old, but you know that is very
- 27:23Speaker 3: fashionable now. A lot of these shoes are just slip
- 27:25Speaker 3: your feet right in.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a little over wearing the velcrow shoes that
- 27:29Speaker 2: you just slip right into, though, but kind of have
- 27:31Speaker 2: to because of post surgical swelling that involves my leg.
- 27:34Speaker 2: God I miss normal shoes. But anyway, thank you for
- 27:38Speaker 2: jumping in with that.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Sir.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Hello Stephanie, good morning, and thank you for listening to
- 27:42Speaker 2: us right now in Rockville.
- 27:44Speaker 4: So what are you over?
- 27:45Speaker 6: Greatcoat nonsense?
- 27:46Speaker 3: What specifically do you mean? If I do my job well,
- 27:49Speaker 3: then why do you care if I'm wearing what I'm wearing?
- 27:51Speaker 4: Right?
- 27:52Speaker 3: That's why we love working in radio. And you have
- 27:55Speaker 3: no style or some subcussions?
- 27:58Speaker 2: Are you ready to grab one thousand dollars just because
- 28:00Speaker 2: you're listening to ninety seven point one Wash FM on
- 28:03Speaker 2: your iHeart app.
- 28:04Speaker 4: We'll check this out.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Starting Monday, our thousand dollars work Day Payday is back
- 28:09Speaker 3: five chances for you to win one thousand dollars.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Now it works like this.
- 28:15Speaker 2: You make sure you're listening on your iHeart app to
- 28:17Speaker 2: ninety seven point one wash FM. Tap the contest tab.
- 28:21Speaker 2: That's how you get entered to win, and your first
- 28:25Speaker 2: chance is Monday at nine ten with ninety seven point
- 28:28Speaker 2: one wash.
- 28:29Speaker 4: FM, Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 28:31Speaker 2: It is ninety seven point one wash FM this week
- 28:34Speaker 2: in a big weekend. Sunday, the celebration of Emancipation Day.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Is on and there's a lot going on, like a festival,
- 28:40Speaker 3: a parade, and even a concert at Franklin Park.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Yeah, with the rapper Ti. You know Ti. He's from Atlanta.
- 28:47Speaker 2: He's saying that you could do whatever you like. He
- 28:50Speaker 2: was on that song with Justin Timberlake. Guy's a big deal.
- 28:52Speaker 2: If you don't have anything on your calendar, you might
- 28:55Speaker 2: want to work that in ninety seven point.
- 28:57Speaker 4: One washef all right?
- 28:59Speaker 2: Jenny Chase be here next to take you through your workday.
- 29:02Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one WASHFM, and don't forget Today
- 29:05Speaker 2: at five.
- 29:06Speaker 3: We kick off our best of the eighties and nineties Weekend,
- 29:09Speaker 3: which by the way, is the inspiration for the quote
- 29:12Speaker 3: for Today's morning Mindset.
- 29:14Speaker 2: From nineteen ninety one, the band was Temple of the
- 29:18Speaker 2: Dog and the song was Hunger Strike that was playing
- 29:21Speaker 2: on the radio. I don't mind stealing bread from the
- 29:25Speaker 2: mouths of Decadence. It's a line from the song. It's
- 29:27Speaker 2: actually the first line from the song. And this is
- 29:30Speaker 2: important because you've got to stand for something bigger than comfort.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Doesn't mean you have to put yourself in danger or anything,
- 29:39Speaker 2: but stand for something, something that's bigger than just being
- 29:42Speaker 2: comfortable and complacent with how things are.
- 29:44Speaker 4: All right.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Have a great weekend on purpose and we will talk
- 29:48Speaker 2: to you on Monday.
- 29:49Speaker 6: What more.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Toby and Jilly head over to washefm dot com for
- 29:53Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio app.
