- 0:18Speaker 3: It's the one and only dog, y'all.

- 0:22Speaker 1: face to be and in the place to be. And
- 0:24Speaker 1: you're listening to John Jay and Rich. Wake your ass up.
- 0:27Speaker 4: Rich, what's so special about today?
- 0:29Speaker 1: It is National Banana Split Day.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Don't put bananas in my butt. Oh, gosh.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Not again.
- 0:35Speaker 1: No.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Please.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Don't put bananas in my butt. No, don't put bananas
- 0:40Speaker 2: in my butt.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Banana split.
- 0:41Speaker 2: I've told you several times before. My butt is not
- 0:45Speaker 2: a banana. Happy Banana Day. What else you got?
- 0:48Speaker 1: It's also National Secondhand Wardrobe Day. I know you're way
- 0:52Speaker 1: into thrifting, Peyton. Yeah. It's National Whiskey Sour Day. And,
- 0:57Speaker 1: John Jay, it is National Kiss and Makeup Day. So
- 1:00Speaker 1: maybe wander on down to Vince Vaughn's place. See if
- 1:03Speaker 1: you can get it. You said you wanted to apologize
- 1:05Speaker 1: to him for a long time.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I want to apologize to him?
- 1:08Speaker 1: No. Or you want to put him in his place?
- 1:09Speaker 2: I have no desire to apologize.
- 1:11Speaker 1: It is not National Put You in Your Place Sir Day.
- 1:14Speaker 1: It is National Kiss and Makeup Day.
- 1:15Speaker 2: The feud lives on.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I guess it keeps going.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I get so bothered sometimes when I see him pop
- 1:20Speaker 2: up on my Instagram.
- 1:21Speaker 1: But if anybody wants to kiss and make up, I mean,
- 1:23Speaker 1: on our show and use our show as a vehicle,
- 1:24Speaker 1: we're open to that, right?
- 1:25Speaker 2: Totally, yeah.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Because we are purveyors of peace, not just for ourselves.
- 1:29Speaker 2: My high school reunion is coming up. Yeah.
- 1:32Speaker 4: It's in October, and I just got all the information
- 1:35Speaker 4: on it. You know, I went to Chandler High. Let's go, Wolves. Yeah,
- 1:38Speaker 4: so this is... The legend continues. The week of October 23rd.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Book your travel now.
- 1:44Speaker 2: I live here. I don't have to book my travel, but...
- 1:46Speaker 2: And I thought I'd go over some of it with you.
- 1:48Speaker 2: It's two days. Two days, these people.
- 1:50Speaker 3: For a..
- 1:51Speaker 5: No.
- 1:51Speaker 1: One day, one night.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Well, think about it.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You live here, so two days to you is like, really?
- 1:56Speaker 2: But, like, the people that come out of town? Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Oh, true.
- 1:58Speaker 2: So, listen to this.
- 1:59Speaker 1: We should do a picnic or something.
- 2:00Speaker 4: The Hilton has graciously allowed us to use their lobby
- 2:03Speaker 4: to sit and visit. They also have a pool, max
- 2:06Speaker 4: of 25 people. From 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., Courthouse Hangout. Courthouse,
- 2:13Speaker 4: 201 South Washington Street in Chandler. You guys been there?
- 2:16Speaker 2: You know it?
- 2:16Speaker 1: No. Isn't that the speakeasy?
- 2:20Speaker 2: I have no idea. Courthouse.
- 2:21Speaker 5: Oh, I don't know.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Or is that the little bar that's on the end
- 2:23Speaker 1: that's kind of a little, you know, it's like right
- 2:25Speaker 1: across from the BFW Hall?
- 2:27Speaker 4: It's dog-friendly, no admission fee, basketball, half-court, cornhole, and a
- 2:31Speaker 4: DJ playing your favorite jazz.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Yeah, actually, that's right on the, do you know where
- 2:34Speaker 1: the strip where Santan Brewery is?
- 2:36Speaker 2: It's right in there.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Um, and it's near, uh, Murphy's law.
- 2:40Speaker 2: That's on, that's on Saturday. Sunny woods is going to
- 2:42Speaker 2: have a smoker.
- 2:43Speaker 4: They're selling food, $ 20 per plate, pulled pork, hot links, barbecue, chicken, beans,
- 2:47Speaker 4: potato salad, and rolls.
- 2:50Speaker 5: Uh, I'm like, you just invited the public to your
- 2:52Speaker 5: class reunion.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Let me tell you what's going on Friday night. Check
- 2:56Speaker 4: out Friday night, October 23rd, 24th. They got a block
- 3:01Speaker 4: of rooms being held at the Hilton, by the way,
- 3:02Speaker 4: in case you want to go, but, uh, At 345.
- 3:05Speaker 2: That's the new one.
- 3:07Speaker 1: The Hilton's brand new.
- 3:08Speaker 2: At 345, you get a tour of Chandler High School.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You know.
- 3:11Speaker 4: You meet at the registration office. After the tour, we're
- 3:13Speaker 4: going to cross the street and eat at Elmer's. I
- 3:15Speaker 4: used to go to Elmer's.
- 3:16Speaker 2: All the time.
- 3:16Speaker 4: 7 p.m., downtown Chandler Bar Crawl. Gather at the Hilton
- 3:21Speaker 4: Garden Inn Lobby at 7 p.m.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Sharp.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Then we're going to hit the Stillery, the Uncommon Chandler,
- 3:27Speaker 4: Murphy's Law Irish Pub, Rebel and Rogue, The Perch, Black
- 3:31Speaker 4: Sheep Wine Bar and Merchant.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Yum.
- 3:33Speaker 2: How's that sound?
- 3:34Speaker 5: Honestly, it sounds really fun because that downtown Chandler area
- 3:38Speaker 5: is popping right now.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And it's still a little greasy. It's like not too uppity.
- 3:41Speaker 5: Exactly. It's not giving like downtown Gilbert, but it's also
- 3:45Speaker 5: definitely not giving downtown Scottsdale.
- 3:47Speaker 1: It sounds like a lot of stuff, though.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Sounds like a lot of stuff.
- 3:50Speaker 5: Take a drink, but drink it quickly because we got
- 3:52Speaker 5: to get to the next 12 bar.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Murphy's Law was, remember when my band was playing there?
- 3:57Speaker 1: I think I told you that there was a knife
- 3:58Speaker 1: fight in the girls' bathroom.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:01Speaker 1: The girls came out fighting, and it was right about
- 4:03Speaker 1: the time Grant, our drummer, and I were taking pictures
- 4:05Speaker 1: with teachers. And they called in because I hid behind
- 4:08Speaker 1: the teachers during the night fight.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Surprise, surprise, you hid.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Going down.
- 4:13Speaker 2: That's my reunion. So, yeah, if you want to join us,
- 4:16Speaker 2: join us. Because, Peyton, you said you have your reunion
- 4:17Speaker 2: coming up too, right?
- 4:18Speaker 5: Yeah, ours is coming up in November.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Is it as detailed as mine?
- 4:21Speaker 5: We haven't gotten as much details as yours has, so
- 4:25Speaker 5: who knows if it's actually happening. I will say, though,
- 4:27Speaker 5: Desert Vista, one of my friends, she went there. They're
- 4:29Speaker 5: having their class reunion in a couple of months, and
- 4:33Speaker 5: the people that are hosting it is the daughter of
- 4:35Speaker 5: some lawyers around town, and it's at their fat house.
- 4:38Speaker 5: It's about to be popping.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Oh, that's cool.
- 4:40Speaker 5: I am jealous I'm not.
- 4:41Speaker 1: A part of Desert Vista Class of 2016.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Forget that, man. Mine's at the Hilton.
- 4:44Speaker 3: No.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Mine said Elmer's.
- 4:46Speaker 5: But the girl that's throwing their class reunion at her parents'
- 4:50Speaker 5: house used to have all of the parties when we
- 4:51Speaker 5: were in high school. So it's going to be like,
- 4:53Speaker 5: I'm jealous.
- 4:53Speaker 2: That's great. You just show up.
- 4:55Speaker 3: You're like, this is what we do, right?
- 4:56Speaker 2: If it's a high school reunion, it's like everyone that
- 4:58Speaker 2: was at your parties, right? Good morning, Jules.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 5:03Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 5:05Speaker 3: So I ordered takeout the other day. And when I
- 5:08Speaker 3: got home, I realized they gave me somebody else's order
- 5:12Speaker 3: of along with my order. And it was way more
- 5:15Speaker 3: food than I purchased. So I just called the restaurant
- 5:18Speaker 3: to tell them in case someone was missing theirs. And
- 5:20Speaker 3: the guy goes, oh, that's probably the couple who ordered
- 5:23Speaker 3: the breakup meal.
- 5:24Speaker 2: And I just laughed.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Because I was like, thought he was joking and didn't
- 5:27Speaker 3: even know. I don't know what he was talking about,
- 5:29Speaker 3: but he was like, no, seriously, this couple ordered two steaks,
- 5:33Speaker 3: one cheesecake and a bottle of wine, then called and
- 5:36Speaker 3: said that they broke up and didn't want it anymore.
- 5:38Speaker 3: So he just gave it to me and I apparently
- 5:42Speaker 3: and accidentally got the final meal of a relationship. But
- 5:45Speaker 3: mind you, I paid for a salad. So no loss
- 5:48Speaker 3: was my gain.
- 5:49Speaker 2: You've got dinner and lunch for the next few days.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Literally. Yeah, for real.
- 5:53Speaker 5: I would be like, though, if I got broken up
- 5:55Speaker 5: with or I broke up with somebody, I would be sad.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I would want to eat my feelings away. Absolutely. Oh, yeah.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Wine and cheesecake.
- 6:01Speaker 4: That's like a perfect final meal.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Like, OK, this is what's happening. And let's just part
- 6:06Speaker 3: ways after eating.
- 6:07Speaker 2: An incredible meal.
- 6:08Speaker 1: But.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Whatever. If anyone wants to come over for dinner the
- 6:11Speaker 3: next couple.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Nights, I got you.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Hey, let me ask you this.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Do you think that when you call the restaurant, they
- 6:16Speaker 4: have something called the breakup meal? Well, that's what I
- 6:19Speaker 4: didn't know.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I was like, this is really funny if there is
- 6:22Speaker 3: such a thing because that's kind of iconic marketing in
- 6:25Speaker 3: many ways.
- 6:26Speaker 1: If someone's like, hey, we're going to.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Go to this place. I have a reservation. They know
- 6:33Speaker 3: you should know ahead of time that that's what you
- 6:35Speaker 3: guys are ordering is a breakup meal and you're going
- 6:37Speaker 3: to get done.
- 6:37Speaker 4: And what if you go to the restaurant and you
- 6:38Speaker 4: just like what the breakup meal is? So you order
- 6:40Speaker 4: the breakup meal, even though you're not.
- 6:42Speaker 1: And we're fine.
- 6:44Speaker 2: We just want the breakup meal. It looks really delicious.
- 6:46Speaker 1: So that must be at the restaurant. They make it.
- 6:48Speaker 1: It's ready to go. And the customer calls like, I
- 6:51Speaker 1: don't need it.
- 6:52Speaker 2: We're done.
- 6:52Speaker 1: We're broken up. So that is referred to as the
- 6:54Speaker 1: breakup meal. That order is the breakup meal.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. That's whatever.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Right on, Jules.
- 7:00Speaker 4: You know, Rich, you and I were in Reading over
- 7:02Speaker 4: the weekend, and we actually ate the breakup meal.
- 7:04Speaker 1: That's right.
- 7:05Speaker 4: There were two steaks, a bottle of wine, and cheesecake,
- 7:07Speaker 4: except we got the chocolate cake. But we didn't eat
- 7:09Speaker 4: any of it.
- 7:10Speaker 5: Wow.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I hope we don't break up.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Never.
- 7:11Speaker 3: But you're not broken up, right?
- 7:13Speaker 1: No.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I think the chocolate cake saved us. It's got to
- 7:16Speaker 2: be cheesecake. All right.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Thanks, Jules.
- 7:18Speaker 3: You got to switch it up somehow.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Hey, thanks for listening. Thanks for calling in.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I love random stories.
