  Speaker 2: you this morning. Man started off real crazy. But it's

  Speaker 2: just those little mishaps where we as people who are

  Speaker 2: striving to be successful, that makes all the difference in

  Speaker 2: the world. When you have those little minor things that

  Speaker 2: come up, you can't let the minor things stop you.

  Speaker 2: You've got to keep pressing forward.

  Speaker 1: Now. Could I have played the role of where is

  Speaker 1: my car? Where is my car?

  Speaker 2: Oh? Where is my car? Instead of hustling and grab

  Speaker 2: a cab?

  Speaker 1: So what am I? Am I above a cab ride now?

  Speaker 1: Or do I have to look at.

  Speaker 2: The bigger picture and say, okay, I could act like

  Speaker 2: a little spoiled brat some type of star and go

  Speaker 2: I don't ride in cabs or where's my car? And

  Speaker 2: then go to blaming people for not having a car.

  Speaker 2: Or do I make the adjustments because I ain't like

  Speaker 2: I ain't been in the cab before? Now, slow down,

  Speaker 2: ain't like I ain't never been in a beat up

  Speaker 2: car before? Slow down. Ain't ever like I ain't never

  Speaker 2: had a car and rode a bus before. Slow down,

  Speaker 2: ain't like I ain't never been homeless before, and ain't

  Speaker 2: have nowhere to go?

  Speaker 1: Slow down.

  Speaker 2: So in those moments right there, always remember where you

  Speaker 2: come from, but even more importantly, always remember where you

  Speaker 2: trying to go, because it's important for me that I

  Speaker 2: get here as many mornings as I possibly can. It's

  Speaker 2: important because that's the goal. And so many people allow

  Speaker 2: a minor things to stop them on their road to success.

  Speaker 2: And I'm giving you this example today not to say, hey,

  Speaker 2: look at me, but to say to you, hey, listen

  Speaker 2: to me. There are going to be a lot of

  Speaker 2: things say's going to happen along your way to being successful,

  Speaker 2: and if you allow the small things to stop you,

  Speaker 2: there's no way you'll make it. You've got to always

  Speaker 2: press forward and stop looking at the situation for what

  Speaker 2: it is, and look, sometimes you have to take your

  Speaker 2: eye off right now and put your eye in the future.

  Speaker 2: You know, God has blessed me in so many ways.

  Speaker 2: I mean, what can I say? You know, I ask

  Speaker 2: God for this syndicated show. He gives me a syndicated show.

  Speaker 2: not realize that there are certain people, man, who look

  Speaker 2: forward to this message in the morning. I've heard it

  Speaker 2: from people, so from the hundreds that I've heard it for,

  Speaker 2: that could represent thousands for all I know. So if

  Speaker 2: I think somebody's counting on me, I got to try

  Speaker 2: to get there and give something. So today I didn't

  Speaker 2: have any time at all to think about what I

  Speaker 2: might say. I just walk right in and the jingle

  Speaker 2: was playing, and so I decided to just tell you

  Speaker 2: about my day and maybe you can relate it to

  Speaker 2: something you going through along the way, Because no matter

  Speaker 2: who you are, you're going to have some moments man,

  Speaker 2: where things are going to happen. And like I always

  Speaker 2: tell my kids, and I just had this conversation with

  Speaker 2: my little girl, it ain't that things ain't gonna happen.

  Speaker 2: It's how you handle what happens that matters. But it
• 3:15
  Speaker 2: don't matter. It's how you handle what happens that's the
• 3:19
  Speaker 2: determining factor on where you get in life and how
• 3:22
  Speaker 2: soon you get there and how long you stay there.

  Speaker 2: That will always be a mishap something that's gonna throw

  Speaker 2: you off. There will always be something man that could

  Speaker 2: deter you. That will be something somewhere man that will

  Speaker 2: make you doubt it. Now that you know that's gonna happen,

  Speaker 2: then let's talk about how you handle what happens, because

  Speaker 2: it's going to happen. So now, what do you do

  Speaker 2: as a person when these moments come about in your life?

  Speaker 2: How do you handle? Oh?

  Speaker 1: Woe is me? Oh, I guess it wasn't meant to be. Well.

  Speaker 1: If the Lord wanted me to have this, I'd have that.

  Speaker 2: How many damn many times you hear people say that,

  Speaker 2: You know, man, it really irks me. Man, stop using

  Speaker 2: God as your excuse. God ain't no excuse. God is

  Speaker 2: a reason. He's a reason why the good happens. He's

  Speaker 2: a reason. He's not an excuse. God don't have no excuses,

  Speaker 2: and none of his scriptures or writings not that I
• 4:23
  Speaker 2: he just don't make excuses. I would have done this.

  Speaker 2: But you know, there's a scripture that says the poor
• 4:30
  Speaker 2: will all shall always be amongst us.

  Speaker 1: Why that's got to be you.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, he said the poor will always be amongst us,

  Speaker 2: Because you know everybody ain't gonna follow the principles of success.

  Speaker 2: But he also said he came to give you life

  Speaker 2: and give it to you more abundantly. He said that too,

  Speaker 2: But oh no, you don't want to hear that because

  Speaker 2: your life kind of trip it out a little bit.

  Speaker 2: So now what you do with it? Now you twist

  Speaker 2: it and you go to that one little scripture that say, well,

  Speaker 2: the poor shall always be amongst us. Well, that's put
• 4:59
  Speaker 2: in the because that suggests in case. See, that's a
• 5:03
  Speaker 2: just in case y'all don't want to follow the scriptures.

  Speaker 2: That's just in case you don't understand that faith without
• 5:10
  Speaker 2: works is dead.

  Speaker 1: That's just in case you have not because you ask.

  Speaker 2: Now, it's just in case you don't believe and shall

  Speaker 2: not doubt he got all that in there.

  Speaker 1: But in case you don't want.

  Speaker 2: To do that, there is a scripture that tells you

  Speaker 2: what will happen if you don't do it, And here

  Speaker 2: it is the poor shall always be amongst us. But

  Speaker 2: then you get that when they say, well, that's I

  Speaker 2: guess that's the Lord's will, Lord's will really, really, really

  Speaker 2: really that's amazing. I just don't believe that about him.

  Speaker 2: I don't believe that God created your life to be
• 5:44
  Speaker 2: a life of misery. I think that we make decisions
• 5:49
  Speaker 2: along the way that cause us to have lives of misery.

  Speaker 2: But I really, really just don't believe that God created

  Speaker 2: you for that. I've heard Nelson Mandela speak, and you

  Speaker 2: know you gotta go. While all those years in prison, Man,
• 6:07
  Speaker 2: what was it about? When you hear him speak, you
• 6:10
  Speaker 2: understand what it was about. He said, he always knew
• 6:14
  Speaker 2: he would be free one day. Now, what he said
• 6:17
  Speaker 2: he never knew was he said, he never knew that
• 6:20
  Speaker 2: he would be the president of that country. Oh my goodness,

  Speaker 2: what a long way around. But he could have set
• 6:29
  Speaker 2: there and got involved in prison activities that wasn't up
• 6:33
  Speaker 2: to Paw and things like that. And they said whenever
• 6:37
  Speaker 2: young inmates used to come in. He was telling the
• 6:39
  Speaker 2: story one time of how young inmates used to come
• 6:41
  Speaker 2: into the prison. They all sit around and talk to
• 6:44
  Speaker 2: him about what they were doing and how many kids
• 6:46
  Speaker 2: they had in their lives, and it helped them keep
• 6:48
  Speaker 2: track of the outside a little bit, and it kept
• 6:51
  Speaker 2: a sense of time for them, and it reminded me
• 6:54
  Speaker 2: to talk about what they left behind, and it kept
• 6:56
  Speaker 2: them going because something was great on the other side.

  Speaker 2: Had he allowed that to stop him, had he allowed
• 7:04
  Speaker 2: the imprisonment, which is a pretty major deal. Oh by
• 7:07
  Speaker 2: the way, then guess what he would have never been
• 7:10
  Speaker 2: the Nelson Mandela that we know today, a martyr, a leader,
• 7:14
  Speaker 2: a great force. People want to go around him. Even
• 7:17
  Speaker 2: people that imprisoned him could not understand his staunch strength,
• 7:22
  Speaker 2: his faith, his unwavering commitment. They couldn't understand it. So
• 7:27
  Speaker 2: things are going to happen in your life, but it's
• 7:29
  Speaker 2: how you handle what happens doesn't matter.

  Speaker 1: So keep pushing, y'all.

  Speaker 2: Don't let the little things get in the way, Okay,

  Speaker 2: And if you just sometimes you just don't know. I

  Speaker 2: got in a cab thinking I wasn't gonna make it,

  Speaker 2: but at least let's go see, let's try.

  Speaker 2: Another piece of information that I have and all I

  Speaker 2: Man, sometime when it looked like you aren't gonna make it,

  Speaker 2: about where my car, but I got up in here
