- 0:03Adam Putnam: Hello, DU family. Adam Putnam here with Ducks Unlimited, and I just wanted to take an opportunity to give you a quick wrap up of the year that we've just finished for your Ducks Unlimited. I was at the store yesterday and a man walked up to me, of course, was wearing my DU shirt, and he said, I would love for my son to have the opportunity to tour Ducks Unlimited's headquarters. And I said, that's fantastic. How old is he? And he said, well, he's in the fifth grade. What other organization, what other nonprofit brings together the generations the way that Ducks Unlimited does? Everybody is drawn to the Ducks Unlimited lifestyle because there is no DU without you. And we had a record year for impact last year. For the first time in our history, we exceeded 1,200,000 acres of conservation. And for the second year in a row, we were above that 1,000,000 acre threshold. We're well on our way this year to hitting three in a row of above a million acres of impact in a single twelve month period. We're doing that with the power of people. Over 715,000 members, contributors, and supporters of our mission are the fuel for that conservation machine to make sure that the next generation and the generations that follow have the same outdoor opportunities that we're blessed to enjoy. Thank you for making it an amazing year at Ducks Unlimited.
- 1:40VO: Welcome to the Ducks Unlimited podcast, the only podcast about all things waterfowl. From hunting insights to science based discussions about ducks, geese, and issues affecting waterfowl and wetlands conservation in North America, we bring the resource to you, the DU podcast.
- 2:07Santa: Ho, ho, ho, and welcome to this Christmas edition of the Ducks Unlimited podcast. Santa here, I stepped out of the sleigh and strayed into the marsh. But, hey, if your boots don't get stuck at least once, is it even duck season? Today, we're celebrating with holiday music performed entirely by Ducks Unlimited staff. And trust me, these folks can carry a tune farther than a high wind can carry a gadwall.
- 2:40So whether you're in the blind waiting for the morning flight, cruising to your favorite spot, or warm at home with a retriever who's still drying off from yesterday's hunt? Settle in and enjoy the sounds of the season, DU style. Ho ho ho. Hold onto your thermos Santa's pressing play.
- 9:32VO: Dear Ducks Unlimited supporter. What can you say to someone who has given so much? Someone who works so hard to make the world a better place for all of us. Thank you doesn't seem like it's enough, but it's a start. Whether you've supported Ducks Unlimited for decades, months, or days You're part of the DU family. A family that believes we all have a role to play. A family that's passionate about getting involved and becoming part of the solution. A family that remains committed to leaving a conservation legacy for our children and our children's children. There's always room at our table for family, and this Christmas, we've reserved the best seat at the head of the table just for you. Thank you for joining us as we celebrate a monumental year for wetlands conservation. And give thanks for the incredible progress we've made for waterfowl, wildlife And our communities. Every acre that we've been served is a victory. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for everything you've done, everything you do, and everything you will do to ensure that the Ducks Unlimited family remains true to our conservation roots, our outdoor heritage and our tradition of preserving and protecting everything we hold dear.
- 10:49Santa: And we're back. It's time for more Christmas music from the DU team. Quick tip. If you hear sleigh bells in the marsh, that's probably me or someone with a very confused lanyard. Well, I must get back to my sled.
