  [SPEAKER_00]: I think early on, be creative and aggressive, offensively in your early usage of Brian Thomas Jr.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have to get off to a hot start.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And Liam Cohen talked about it with the media today.

  [SPEAKER_00]: rescheduled things a little bit earlier this morning, but Liam Cohen met with the media around one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he talked about, he was asked, like, are they going to be a team that likes to defer, or likes to take the opening kick?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Most of his coaching career had leaned towards deferring, but last year in Tampa, they were accepting the ball quite a bit early on or in the beginning of the game taking the ball, and their You know record Their win percentage was so much higher when they got off to that fast start, so he said they have a meeting tomorrow on the game management stuff tomorrow morning And they'll probably figure that out then.

  [SPEAKER_00]: but he's kind of going back and forth about it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But either way, the Jaguars need to get off to a hot start on offense because so many times, so many times.

  [SPEAKER_00]: for so many years, the Jaguars have just been a bismal to start games offensively.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And if they can buck that trend, it's going to massively help them win games.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the reason I think the best way to get off to a hot start is to have creative usage of your top players.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And Liam Cohen, he is a very creative offensive mind.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You want to get them the ball early and often for a few reasons.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're your best players for one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: For two, you want them to get comfortable early.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it can be a game where it doesn't feel like you're having to force the issue to feed these guys.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But you get them the ball in space early on and you get off to a hot start and then you just keep the train rolling.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's really what you want.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's a big key to victory is to be creative and aggressive early on in your usage with BT and Travis Like you don't want to go through your first offensive drive and neither of these guys get the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You won't both of them touch the ball and the first offensive drive probably multiple times.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, another key that we haven't talked about a ton this week, but it is a critical element of Liam Cohen's offense, space blocking, uh, that space blocking for tight ends for receivers, uh, for linemen, getting out in space on screens, getting out in space on some of these extended outside runs, um, on jet sweeps,

  [SPEAKER_00]: These are all common elements of Liam Cohen's offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And you have to have tackles that can get out in space and get that target lock on and hit a linebacker in space or hit a DB in space.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Same thing with the Titans.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, of course, blocking at the line of scrimmage at the point of attack is critical to any game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But with Liam Cohen's offense getting out in space and blocking for those wider severs on screens, those tight ends on a myriad different plays, the offensive lineman.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be critical and if they can do that and they don't have to like be perfect.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They don't have to, you know, you don't have to have Walker little ants on Harrison, getting on a linebacker and pilot driving him into the dirt 20 yards down the field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But what you need to do is just get enough of a piece of these guys to where it gives whoever has the ball, just that little bit of room or that little bit of time that they need.

  [SPEAKER_00]: to get past that defender and get up field because in so many of these concepts with Liam Cohen it's like they just got to get past one guy and then if they do that not necessarily touched down but going to be a very positive play so that's going to be a big part of the Jaguar's offense and they've got to be able to do that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Defensively, we kind of hinted at this earlier a little bit with the Chuba Hubbard talk, the matchups, but tackling and filling gaps, you have to be gap responsible.

  [SPEAKER_00]: At the point of attack with the defensive front, I feel very confident and Trayvon Walker's ability to do that and Josh Heinz Allen and Devon Hamilton and Eric Armstrong stood really, I do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think they'll be able to do it up front in terms of filling the proper gaps holding the point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Just handling their assignment against the run.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But then you got to have Devon Lloyd, Ventral Miller, Foye, Luke and

  [SPEAKER_00]: getting downhill, filling the right gap, being in the right gap at the right time, and really trying to take tube a Hubbard and Rico doubtal out of the game a little bit, uh, same thing with the safeties like both Andrew Winger and Eric Murray are going to be your starting safeties.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They've got to be able to come downhill and make plays on ball carriers, and you also just need to swarm to the football, because there will be miss tackles here and there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's gonna help this defense get off the field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It really is, and I strongly believe the Panthers are gonna be in a really bad situation if they cannot run the ball consistently effectively with Chuba Hubbard and Rika Dattel because as good as I think Bryce Yonan can be, as good as I think Teteromek Millan is, as dangerous as Xavier LaGett can be, this is not one of the most dangerous passing attacks in the NFL.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Bryce Young, um, a lot of his production down the stretch last year was throwing passes to Adam Deeland.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, if you can not get beat consistently by the run,

  [SPEAKER_00]: think you're going to have some success against the Panthers' offense for this Jaguar's defense, I really do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then when the Panthers' Arthur on the ball, you got to limit blown coverages, and it's like, yeah, no duh.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Well, look, the Jaguar is the last two years, have been one of the worst teams in the NFL at blown coverages, missed assignments.

  [SPEAKER_00]: lot of the players who were culprits of that are no longer in Jacksonville, but you've still got Devon Lloyd and Ventral Miller and for Ventral, it was a lot more about not having the athleticism and length to make the play versus actually having a misdesignment with Devon Lloyd, you had a lot of blown coverages.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You've seen blown coverages from the safety spot, but you have two new starting safeties.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Andrew Wingard's been here, but he wasn't really a starting

  [SPEAKER_00]: You need Jordan Lewis, Tyson Campbell, Jarian Jones, Travis Hunter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if you have one in a game, it happens.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you start having more than one blown coverage on the back end in a game, it's gonna potentially cost you a football game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: First, preseason game, Jack Wars offense, kind of beat themselves up, starting off and speed themselves up with penalties.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Second week, they beat themselves by having a botched botched play at the Lannis Grimmage in the Red Zone.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Loans gets his foot stepped on by Ezra Cleveland, and he fumbles the football, and the hand off the exchange to take bigsby.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can't have that, you can't have that crap.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you do, you have to be able to respond better than the jaguar as I've responded in the past.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But that's the type of stuff, the unforested errors, the penalties, pre-snap, the penalties post-snap, like, you know, you gotta be on your peasing cues when it comes to, I mentioned, space blocking.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If it is a screen pass, and we saw this in the pre-season, you can't block before,

  [SPEAKER_00]: The person who's receiving the screen gets the ball, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: So don't beat yourself on offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: not being, not having the right spacing or not releasing properly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you release inside and crowds the space in the zone where you're trying to target with the football, it ends up being an interception, things like that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Don't fumble the ball, tank bigs, he has fumble the ball, a lot in his career, basal tunes, fumble the ball, a lot in his career, terrible ones, fumble the ball, a lot in his career.

  [SPEAKER_00]: don't beat yourself on offense, that is a key to victory.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then finally, situational mastery, which the Jaguar is harp on all the time, and a meeting about it today, they're also going over again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: From a coaching standpoint, the game plan, type stuff tomorrow, the situational moments tomorrow, just from coaching standpoint, but they talked to the team about it today, and they harp on it all the time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and put together a bunch of stuff, and there was stuff from last night's game, spinning on your opponent, you know, taunting, things of that nature.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And for me, that's on the players and the coaches.
