  [SPEAKER_02]: incredible to think now I've been the director of this ministry for well over half a decade now but that hails in comparison to Dr. Paul Levine think about it started the ministry in 1938 that was not the beginning of his ministry but that was just the beginning of this ministry he had been preaching for years before that he was known as the boy preacher

  [SPEAKER_02]: But started the ministry of BTI, Bible Tracks Incorporated in 1938, and God took him home to glory, almost 60 years later in 1996, and what a joy it is to sit in this seat, talking behind this microphone, to such wonderful listeners right now.

  [SPEAKER_02]: I mentioned that we are going to be hearing from our founder, Dr. Paul Levine.

  [SPEAKER_02]: Many of you may be familiar, but let me give you a brief introduction.

  [SPEAKER_02]: Dr. Paul was a committed Christian.

  [SPEAKER_02]: He was a fiery preacher, a jovial guy, a funny guy to be honest with you.

  [SPEAKER_02]: a good singer, but he was also very smart.

  [SPEAKER_02]: I say, was in the past tense because unfortunately our founder, Dr. Paul, he passed away in 1996, but many of his messages live on and today is no exception.

  [SPEAKER_02]: From 1979, we get to hear a message titled,

  [SPEAKER_02]: a heater, speaking of the apostle Peter, the disciple Peter, but Peter in the sifter.

  [SPEAKER_02]: And Dr. Paul is going to give you a little bit more of an introduction, it's a well thought out message this week that really should and could apply to each and every one of us.

  [SPEAKER_00]: where you find Luke is, you find the book of Jude and you go to your left.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He won't your left, you'll come to Luke at well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, the book of Luke, Matthew Mark Luke, chapter 22.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I know that yesterday, so that if any of you heard it before and you didn't want to come, you could stay the way.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It may be that if you were here before, when I used it, you forgot, in which I hope you did.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, look chapter 22, and look with me, ever 31.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord said, Simon, Simon, talking to Simon Peter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Simon, Simon, behold, Satan had desired to have you

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I have prayed for thee that I say, say, oh, no.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And when thou art convert it, that doesn't mean when you get saved, when you get converted and get saved.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The word convert to means to be turned around again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So what you're saying is when you get converted, when you get turned around again, when you get back on the right track and get down, or you belong, then you can strengthen your brother.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Because of what you're going to go through, you'll be able to help your brethren when they go through this.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Verse 33, and he, Peter, said to him, Lord, I am ready to go with the both in the prison and in the dead.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A Lord, you know, I'm just going to follow you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'll go right with you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you go to prison, I'll go with you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You die.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'll go with you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: All right.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Then notice what the Lord said, verse 34.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he said, I tell thee Peter, the cock shall not cruel this day before that thou shall Christ deny that thou knows me.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That would be surprise for Peter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I can't believe that Lord, you tell me that I'm going to deny you three times you couldn't believe it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he said under them, well, we won't read any further than that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We'll stop at verse 34.

  [SPEAKER_00]: that thou knowers me, thou knowers in verse thirty-one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord said to Peter, Simon, Simon, behold Satan had these are to have you that he may shift you as wheat.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They had two different methods of separating the wheat from the chair.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go kind of slow so we don't miss any of this.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He got to hang on to this all one, saw here, you'll lose the whole business.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They had two methods of getting
• 5:33
  [SPEAKER_00]: One of these was by winnowing.
• 5:37
  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, winnowing was a process by which they would get rid of the chast.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then they had the wheat left in their hands or shifter or whatever they had.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not the shifter, but they would, for example, they would sold the wheat,

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then when the wind would blow the chaff away, you just had the wheat left.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So when a wheat got rid of the chaff, and all your head left was the wheat.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, the sifting was just the opposite.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Sifting was also a method of separating the wheat from the chaff, but in sifting, you would get rid of the wheat and just have the chaff left.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In other words, they put the wheat in, they put this in a shifter, and the wheat would go through the wheat would go through the sifter, and then they had the chaff left it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And we run us to again, so to get this now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The two ways to separate the wheat from the chaff, one was by winnowing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and you had the chaff lamp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now notice, the Lord didn't say to Peter, the Lord has the Satan has these are to have you that he may win or you as we do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's the Bible so accurate.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Bible doesn't make any mistakes.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And notice now, he said the devil wants you Peter, but he wants you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't want to win or you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't get, well, he doesn't, the devil doesn't want to get rid of the chaff in your life,

  [SPEAKER_00]: The devil wants to put you in the sifter, and the devil wants you to put you to a process by a witch.

  [SPEAKER_00]: All of people will see in your life is the shaft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He wants to get rid of the weed so they can see the shaft.
• 7:45
  [SPEAKER_00]: You see, all of us have a shaft in our life, just like Peter did.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We got to get rid of the shaft so that we have just a weak left left.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We have to, the load has to separate the junk from the genuine.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's some genuine in this, but there's a lot of junk.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So the Lord has to separate the junk from the genuine, and we from the chef, and he can do it two ways.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He can do it by winery, or if that doesn't work, then he can allow the devil to do it by safety.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord does the winery.
• 8:18
  [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord puts you through a process by which when he gets through it with you, who will make people see the way.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They see what's real, they see what's genuine, they see what's good.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But if that doesn't work, if we don't let the Lord win us to get rid of the chaff out of our lives, so people see the weak, then He will allow the devil to sift us.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And when the devil sift us, sift us, then we fail and we fall and then people look at us and they see the chaff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now that's what the devil want to do with Peter, okay, so the easy way to get the weak separated from the chaff is the winnowing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that's what we all learned this morning.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We all learned enough to let the Lord winnow us and let the Lord separate the weak from the chaff that's in our life.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now I don't know if you've got any chaff in your life, but I've always had a lot in mind.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Peter had a lot of chaff in his life and he didn't realize it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: uh... when he was very proud and boastful and he said there's no chaff in my life saying yes there was a he wouldn't even said that the fact that he said it children there was chaff in his life okay so now let's get the picture time

  [SPEAKER_00]: saying that these are to have you that he may shift you as we going to put you through a process where you're going to fall you're going to fail just like that we go through the sector and fall you're going to fall you're going to sin you're going to do wrong and when people look at you they're not going to see any weak in your life they're not going to see what's real and genuine and good they're going to see the the chat and the no good part of you and

  [SPEAKER_00]: I've already prayed for you, that you're faked, pale, not.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, now I say, get a hope, let's get to an overall picture.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The devil comes to the Lord one day and he says, hey, this man, Peter, who's thorn you, rap?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, he seems to be kind of a big wheel in your crowd, but don't want you to know.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This is a devil saying this to the Lord, no?
• 10:27
  [SPEAKER_00]: Want you to know that this man, Peter, it's just a big, wondering, sundering, blundering, back a win.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's also, he's just a big mouth blistering hypocrite.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a phony, he's a frog, there's no weak in him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's nothing but chaff, and if you just let me put him to the scepter, I'll prove it to you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'll prove he's nothing but chaff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'll prove it to everybody else.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'll prove it to his wife.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And if you got any kids, I'll prove it to his kids.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'll prove it to his past, I'll just prove it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I just proved everybody that he's no good at all.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, the Lord thought there's over in the Lord said to himself,

  [SPEAKER_00]: It is true that there's a lot of chaff and Peter's life.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's proud.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's arrogant.
• 11:11
  [SPEAKER_00]: He thinks he's really somebody.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's got the chaff in his life.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of folks have the chaff, you know.
• 11:20
  [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, like the fellow that says, you ought to read my tremendous book on humility.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's a greatest book on humility's ever been written.

  [SPEAKER_02]: Let's be honest, friend.

  [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes we, and I'm not just talking to you, I'm saying we, me included.

  [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of times we have a good amount of chaff in our lives.

  [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of chaff that we need to get rid of.
• 11:45
  [SPEAKER_02]: Well, friend, let me counsel you number one to get rid of that chaff.

  [SPEAKER_02]: But number two, consider stick around this entire week as we continue this message from Dr. Paul Avine titled Peter in this sifter.
