- 0:25Welcome into the treehouse. I'm down Malley, joined of course by Alfie Coy
- 0:31Tree Trendholme and very very very special, not just guess, but the longest
- 0:36running member of this show in this treehouse, the rock and Roll attorney Ever
- 0:41Newton. Yeah, oh thanks, you are welcome, sir. So I'm
- 0:55a little distracted this this uh, this go around, not because of anything
- 1:00terrible going on, but it is something that you know. I know that
- 1:06at least three of you, or at least two of you can can relate
- 1:08to um. And I'm talking to you Trey, and to you Everett.
- 1:17UM, not so much Alfie, because I've been picking up diarrhea like all
- 1:21week. I'm sorry, Why what'd you eat? What'd you do? Where
- 1:30you been pooping? Dan? Not pooping a close hamper? No one didn't
- 1:36pooping a close hamper? Did you poop outside the close hamper? Okay?
- 1:40I should have I should have been more specific. I've been picking up doggy
- 1:42diarrhea all week. Okay, that's my fault. I didn't specify. You
- 1:47chuckle head just assumed it was me. I'm sorry, and me and I
- 1:51was pooping all over the house. Believe me, I would not be telling
- 1:53you you should be drunk right now. I don't know. I am not
- 2:00drunk right now. And ever, Yeah, I mean, if if something
- 2:02bad like that did happen and I got sick and I was, you know,
- 2:07crapping all over the house, then yeah, I'd clean that up.
- 2:09There's no way I'm gonna ask my wife to do it, although it would
- 2:13be fair if I asked the dogs to do it. Would she do it
- 2:17if you asked her? I think if I think if she knew that if
- 2:23I was really really ill, she might or at least call somebody or at
- 2:30least pick it up yourself. Just didn't feel like it. I think tera
- 2:37would at least put a diaper on you yours. So just tickled with yourself,
- 2:43aren't you? Trey? You just got Yeah, you got you got
- 2:47you got it? You got it in your head. Me on the bed
- 2:50with my knees up to my ears. Yeah, I wasn't going that far.
- 2:57I just had an image. Dan, do you like an extra powder
- 3:06on your bum bum when you've done a poopy? Please don't feed into this.
- 3:13Trade's gonna turn you know, there's gonna be color in Trey's skin if
- 3:17you keep this up. You didn't answer the question do you like extra powder
- 3:21on your bum? Bum? I'm gonna I'm gonna take a really long road
- 3:25to answer that question. You know how how poor of a memory I have?
- 3:30Right? No, I forgot. No, that's my thing. Your
- 3:37thing is to remember things and throw them back in my face. You're our
- 3:40girlfriend, Alfie. God, who have you been dating? Trade? Jesus
- 3:46Man, that sounds like a traumatic response. Oh yeah, No, Trey's
- 3:52had that holster for at least two decades. God damn. Uh So.
- 3:59I unfortunately have random memories that swim around the back of my brain that I
- 4:03have no control over whether or not I actually remember them. Just it just
- 4:09is. And unfortunately, there are some memories I have as a very small
- 4:14child of being, you know, cleaned up in that fashion and at the
- 4:23time, yes, I did like a lot of the powder. Do you
- 4:28really have memories of being an infant to where you're still wearing a diaper?
- 4:32Well, I don't think it was a diaper. I think it was more
- 4:34like toddler or something. And I guess I was having accidents or something.
- 4:39I don't know, But you're still wearing a diaper that I don't remember.
- 4:44Okay. My earliest memory, I think was when I was two or three.
- 4:47I remember like a big blizzard or like a snowstorm or something like that
- 4:50that happened right around the time that my little sister was born. But it's
- 4:58all fuzzy, hazy, you know, just kind of stuff. But you
- 5:01having enough concrete memory of you and a diaper and enjoying extra baby powder on
- 5:09your bum boom when you made a poopy, is it's good you should you
- 5:14should talk to your neurologist about that. Well, first of all, I
- 5:18got to find a new one because last guy I quit, hopefully unrelated to
- 5:23my involvement. But again, I don't know if that was when I was,
- 5:27you know, diaper age. I just remember, I just remember,
- 5:30you know, the post act of whatever whatever happened, and I remember,
- 5:34you know, knees up in them powder and stuff. So I don't know
- 5:39how old I was, But like you, I actually my earliest memory was
- 5:43kind of fuzzy and it felt more like a dream until one time I told
- 5:46my dad about it, and I told him I was like, I think
- 5:47this actually happened, And it was me getting my very first dog, my
- 5:53very first dog, little Docks and and I told my dad one time.
- 5:57I was like, this is what I remember. And he's like, oh
- 6:00my god, you actually remember that, because he of course didn't remember it.
- 6:02He was like thirty one years old, and he's like, yeah,
- 6:04that's exactly what happened. And it wasn't a dream. I kind of thought
- 6:08maybe it was a dream and I was just kind of conflating it or something,
- 6:12but no, he said that was actually it. So anyway, after
- 6:15you made all these poopies around your house because you weren't wearing your diapee,
- 6:20Okay, this is really getting out of control. Number One, again,
- 6:24I did not poop around the house, and number two, I don't wear
- 6:27a diapee. That's why this poop all around the house. Well, I
- 6:30really just kicked that door wide open for you, didn't I sorry, you've
- 6:40been cleaning up your diarrheas? How do you clean up diarrhea? By the
- 6:43way, oh han, the exact phrase you that you used was I've been
- 6:46picking up diarrhea. How do you do that? Isn't diaria paper towels?
- 6:53Okay, so you've been stopping it up. Yeah I didn't want to go
- 6:57that graphic, but yeah, stopping up diarrhea, okay, because I figured
- 7:00I had an image of you trying to collect diarrhea with your bare hands and
- 7:03it's just liquidly slipping through your fingers. Like, can I carry all this
- 7:08diarrhea? Oh God, that just sounds no, that would. I definitely
- 7:12know. My whole thing is I probably use too many paper towels because I
- 7:15really don't want it on my fingers. Oh, there's no such thing as
- 7:18that. There's no such thing as too many paper towels when it comes to
- 7:20cleaning up a gross ass mess. M. That's exactly what it's been now
- 7:28with a little bit of you know context here, Joel, are our old
- 7:33dog who's at least fifteen years old that we did not expect to even make
- 7:38it this far. He has, and he was he was sick, you
- 7:43know, for a number of days. And it was one of those you
- 7:47go to bed at night and you wake up the next day and you just
- 7:51kind of walk around the house and count how many, how many, how
- 7:56many boot puddles there are, and then you just get all the rolls of
- 8:00paper towels and get on your knees and start start wiping. That was gonna
- 8:05be My first question is which dog was it, Because if it's the Chihuahua,
- 8:07I'm not gonna feel that sorry for you. But Joeli, yeah it's
- 8:09a big dog. Yeah, when it's a when it's sixty pound dog pooping
- 8:13everywhere, and it's like, yeah, it's it's it's gonna leave a bit
- 8:16of a mess and in the middle of a trail. I never fancied you
- 8:26a sopper man. I always one of you, Bore is a scoop and
- 8:31dab man. Scoop and dab, you know, I think it's I think
- 8:37the strategy I use is whatever is you know best for the moment, you
- 8:41know, whatever the situation calls for. Well, but sometimes you need to
- 8:46sort of it can choose depending upon the situation. Yes, yeah, I
- 8:52mean something something's fine sometimes but other times you need to scoop and dab.
- 9:03Now I'm not exactly sure what I've been doing because I just I've just been
- 9:07soaking it up in a paper towel and kind of wiping it. Was like,
- 9:09the dabbing doesn't seem like it would make sense on the floor because then
- 9:13you're just kind of just pushing at it. It's not just dabbing, Dan,
- 9:18it's scooping, dab scoop and dab guy? Well, to me,
- 9:20which you cannot scoop? To me, scooping sounds difficult on hard flooring,
- 9:28it's not. You just need the proper tools. All right, I'm going
- 9:33to regret this. What tool would you recommend for scooping into dbbing? Everett
- 9:37scoop? Yah, he walked into that one. I told you I was
- 9:45going to regret that question. A scoop idiot. I love you, Everett
- 10:01speaking of dogs and uh and Everett Newton our rock and rolled attorney, criminal
- 10:09defense attorney. The website still Dallas attorney dot com. It is so if
- 10:16you decide to break the law, then you can call you know, Everett
- 10:20and Darren and they'll they'll they'll represent you. Would you Everett have taken this
- 10:26case? Trent? Remember this was in Colorado? I think it was last
- 10:31week. You've done you've done duys before, right like as an attorney.
- 10:39You haven't done them yourself, but you've represented people who've been accused of the
- 10:41uys. So would you have taken this case? A twenty eight year old
- 10:48guy in Colorado got pulled over on suspicion of DUI at the last minute,
- 10:54he decided to switch places with his dog, who was in the passenger seat.
- 11:03Okay, I like that, You're not immediately kicking this case to the
- 11:07curb. The deputy witnessed the maneuver as he approached the vehicle. The man
- 11:11told the deputy he was not driving the car. And then, and I
- 11:18guess he felt like the deputy was onto him. He gets out of He
- 11:20gets out of the vehicle and tries to make a run for it. He
- 11:22got about twenty yards away before being caught and arrested. Now, I'm sorry,
- 11:26go ahead. It doesn't seem like the weirdest thing is that he tried
- 11:31to blame it on the dog, but the fact that there were actually two
- 11:35sober people in the back of the car that you know he could have attempted
- 11:39this with, but instead he went with the dog. Did it so absolutely,
- 11:45under no circumstances take that case. You don't think soever, You don't
- 11:48think it adds just the slightest shadow of a doubt, Like, Hey,
- 11:54do you want to know why I wouldn't take that case? Why not?
- 11:58I am not licensed to like this law in Colorado. Now he's got you,
- 12:07alfhie. But what if it was Texas, and what if they had
- 12:13charged the dog? Would you defend the dog? You know, I've I
- 12:18have very little experience in canine court, but you know, I guess it
- 12:26depends on what sort of payment arrangements we could come up with, your honor,
- 12:31who's a good boy. My client is a good boy. Clearly I
- 12:39have a dog trying to rob Jack in the box. Ought to pay the
- 12:43legal bills the Dan defense, which is well, your honor, this dog
- 12:52has clearly been traumatized by the fact that Dan is not a scooping dad man.
- 13:00This is not my dog. I'm not the one that got pulled over,
- 13:01and then I'm blamed it on the dog. This is somebody else,
- 13:03entirely in a totally different state. It's not unlike you, though, Dan,
- 13:07because didn't you it is. I would not blame the dog in that
- 13:11situation. You blame anyone else other than you when it comes to any sort
- 13:13of traffic incidents or any roadway accidents, like that time that you backed into
- 13:20a jeep and blamed it on some other nebulous, non existent as far as
- 13:26I know, bus or tour bus or something like that. Yeah, it
- 13:30was a Safari cab. He tried backing up. I backed up to avoid
- 13:33him backing into me. And when I backed up a jeep that was turning
- 13:39onto the road to my left perpendicular to me, I ran into. It
- 13:45was this Safari cab there when the police showed up, of course not I
- 13:50wonder why, because they knew they were in trouble okay, or they knew
- 13:56they had nothing to worry about, and they just left and left the guilt
- 14:00your party at the scene. That's it. They're like, Wow, what
- 14:03an idiot they take off on their suffire. I really hate that we all
- 14:07learned a dogpile from such an early age. I wonder where are we learned
- 14:11that from? So And also not even in all seriousness ever, but I
- 14:18am I am curious that is that the case where the guy gets accused,
- 14:22where the guy tries to blame the dui on the dog, is that one.
- 14:26Let's say it happened in Texas. Is that Acacia that you'd be all
- 14:28over or would you just be like no, get out, No, no,
- 14:33I mean I would I would take it because in reality, the police
- 14:37have to be able to wheel the driver, they have to be able to
- 14:39identify who it was that was driving and you know there's a chance that could
- 14:45have been the dog. Hey, you might have to fancy and if the
- 14:50guy had money to pay you, Oh yeah, yeah, that would certainly
- 14:54help. Do you think do you think in that scenario is there I don't
- 15:07know. I just lost my train of thought. I just started thinking again
- 15:09about again. I just started thinking again about the guy with the dog and
- 15:11just you know, switching places and pushing the dog into the driver's seat and
- 15:15trying to act as normal as possible. Yeah. I mean I've had clients
- 15:18who've done the old switch ald with the front seat passenger, but the passenger
- 15:22has always been human. Does that make it easier? Yeah? Yeah,
- 15:28it does it? Does you know trying to suggest that a dog was driving
- 15:31is you know, a little bit more of an uphill battle, but not
- 15:35impossible. That's what I was I was trying to express just a minute ago,
- 15:39was with this case intrigue you just because it's something you've probably never dealt
- 15:43with before. You're like, you know, you've been an attorney for many,
- 15:46many years. Maybe you're holding out to take only the interesting cases.
- 15:50Well yeah, and I mean that's part of what makes criminal defense fun is
- 15:54the factual patterns behind whatever it is brings people to see me because I mean
- 16:00there's just all kinds of craziness that you just you know, how the hell
- 16:03did you get into this? I mean, how could this possibly happen?
- 16:10You're right, because every case is there's certainly a story behind it. Yes,
- 16:15and it's also gone on the fun side, knowing that you're the you're
- 16:19the you're the attorney, you're not the one being accused of anything. Yeah,
- 16:23that's always nice, man, I'm glad that's not happened to me.
- 16:29I usually try to tell my clients that too. I'm like, wow,
- 16:32it doesn't always really doesn't know as much as as much as you can tell
- 16:38them what if it had been a cat? What I represent person had had
- 16:52it been a cat? Yeah, I don't know. I'm so right down.
- 17:00You go ahead, Everett. Oh well, you know absolutely. I
- 17:04uh but anything out of outside of the mammalian world, I would have to
- 17:11defer to a reptilian attorney. Assuming it's a reptile. I mean, if
- 17:17it's an amphibian, you know, that would be a horse of a different
- 17:19color. Oh God, I don't want to laugh at that pun. But
- 17:27it's real hard isn't it. It's real hard. Does anyone else feel like
- 17:33we've devolved? You're listening to the Treehouse visitors online, a Treehouse on air
- 17:42dot com. Let's welcome now into the Treehouse. Rodney Anderson his phone number
- 18:02nine seven two fifty two hundred, his website Rodney Anderson dot com. Obviously,
- 18:07summer is almost here. It's a big season for moving. So I'm
- 18:11wondering if someone finds a house that they want, what's the first thing they
- 18:15should do? Well? Number one, you have to be preapproved up front.
- 18:18Sellers want to know are you for real? And the big thing is
- 18:22right now is can you qualify for the house that you're buying without selling yours
- 18:26because most sellers are not accepting contingent offers right now, meaning that they won't
- 18:33wait for you to sell your house they want and to offer without you doing
- 18:37that. So the first step is getting pre approved. Number two, knowing
- 18:41what you can afford. Is this payment going to be affordable? How much
- 18:45money am I going to need? And Dan, we're seeing a lot of
- 18:48relocations right now. This is a huge time of year, and so we
- 18:52tell people, let's get you pre approved up front. Out shopping today,
- 18:56and therefore you're a bulletproof situation when it comes to the seller. And what's
- 19:02the fastest that you can close one of those new purchases right now? Yeah,
- 19:06by federal law, can't close for eight days. But right now,
- 19:08Dan, we're closing our purchases in eight to ten days, and we're doing
- 19:11it every single day, which gives a buyer advantage if the if the house
- 19:17is vacant, I mean, if somebody wants to a seller wants to move
- 19:19quickly, we can do just that for the buyer. So if you see
- 19:23smoke somewhere in DFW, it's not necessarily a house fire, just because Rodney
- 19:27and his team are doing things so quickly, their hair is on fire.
- 19:30So it's actually a good sign. So give him a call. Nine seven

- 20:29Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration website again cookedfw dot com and schedule your very own
- 20:34free roof inspection. All right, have a not so random question to ask
- 20:40you, gentlemen, Um, is it okay to tell another guy, Hey,
- 20:45you smell good? Yeah? Just stay yeah, Alpha, you're right
- 20:57on top of that trey. Seems a little uncertain, and I think Everett's
- 21:03still processing. Is it a friend or I mean just someone walking past you
- 21:07on the street. I wouldn't do it to a complete stranger. If it
- 21:11was like if it was any one of you, Like if I walked in
- 21:15the treehouse here and I was just like, oh, man, trade,
- 21:18hey, you smell really good. You get like a new cologne or you
- 21:21know something, I'd have no problem with that, but someone that's more of
- 21:23an acquaintance, so not a stranger, because I would not ask a stranger
- 21:29a good friend like one of you guys would, I would have no problem
- 21:32asking, but sort of that in between stage, like I know the person,
- 21:37but I don't know them so well that I'm comfortable completely asking them,
- 21:44you know, what's your scent? But I'm really I'm really curious. I
- 21:49think if it's just an acquaintance, they may there's always the risk that they're
- 21:55going to misperceive your motive. So if I just say, hey, you
- 22:03smell nice, they may see that as I'm hitting on them. Possibly,
- 22:10Okay, So maybe it's in how I frame what I say, Like if
- 22:15I was to say, hey, what's that cologne you're wearing? It smells
- 22:21really familiar, Or there's someone I used to know that smelled like that and
- 22:26I've always wondered what it was, something along those lines, or is that's
- 22:27still going to be weird? Maybe I'm not hitting on you unless sure I
- 22:36want me to, or just go I think my wife would really like that
- 22:41sent what are you wearing? Yeah, but then I don't want him thinking
- 22:45that I'm trying to set him up with my wife. Well, it's better
- 22:48than him thinking you're trying to set him up with you. No, I'd
- 22:52rather him think I'm hitting on him as opposed to trying to set him up
- 22:56with my wife. I'm much more comfortable with him thinking I'm hitting on him.
- 23:00Maybe you could slip in a note, dear stranger, I am not
- 23:03hitting on you. I simply must know what smell you're wearing right now,
- 23:08But you smell divine, positively intoxicating. Do you have a boat we can
- 23:17go back to Now? I'm wondering whether or not I tell everything story or
- 23:27just let it sit there. You gotta tell me, what do you mean?
- 23:30You can't not tell me? All right? So I guess a handful
- 23:36of months ago, Tera and I are sitting at sitting at a bar as
- 23:40we do, and there's a gentleman there I'd say mid to late I'd say
- 23:48mid sixties or so, so I mean he's he's older than us, and
- 23:52we destrick up a conversation. It's your small talk out of bars, kind
- 23:56of like what happens. And he tells us he's an artists. He makes
- 24:03this jewelry by hand, and so he leaves the bar which, by the
- 24:07way, this bar is at a marina. So he leaves, goes to
- 24:11his boat and grabs a couple of these pieces of jewelry and brings them back
- 24:15for us that he makes like, here, I'll give these two to you,
- 24:18guys, please my treat for me to you enjoy. And then a
- 24:22little while, a little time goes by, and then at some point he
- 24:30seems to think, Hey, maybe they'd like to come see my boat,
- 24:33at which point he asked, you one comes him a boat, to which
- 24:37we immediately said, hey, bartender, can you close us out? It
- 24:40was so nice to meet you, but no, thank you. At the
- 24:47end of the story, yeah, are you sure? Well, I haven't
- 24:55seen him since, and unless he's floating by my house and with a pair
- 25:00of binoculars, that's so far. The end of the story is we talked
- 25:03to a guy. We thought he was just being nice, and then we
- 25:06got the feeling he was hitting on us. How did he smell actually nice?
- 25:14Honestly, he didn't smell like a guy who lived on a boat by
- 25:17himself. I'm just thinking I'd like this story so much more if the ending,
- 25:23if the beginning of the ending was I said, yes, I'd love
- 25:27to see your boat. No, no, no, thank you. I've
- 25:33I've seen enough boats. I am curious about seeing boats from the inside.
- 25:37But I didn't feel like that was the right situation. Have you seen his
- 25:41boat? What type of boat would it have been? Let's start there.
- 25:47I have no idea, Everett, I didn't. I didn't see it.
- 25:49I don't want to presume to think about what kind of boat I think he
- 25:52would have. You can think of a catamaran. Well, I mean,
- 25:59is that the one with the floaties, the floaty things. That's a pontoon.
- 26:03Okay, well, technically that's it's all boats. No, some boats
- 26:07are just buoyant, but I'm talking about the floaty like the floaty tubes,
- 26:12trainers. What I'm talking about. It's a pontoon. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:17which one turns you want? The catamaran is similar to that. Yeah,
- 26:18it's got the it's a it's a two holes. Basically, there's a catamaran.
- 26:26Did you find it sexier, Dan, the catamaran because it's got more
- 26:29syllables? I don't. I don't. I don't have a preference sounds more
- 26:33exotic. I was just curious to ask, is it weird to tell a
- 26:38guy, hey, you smell good, or to say, hey, what
- 26:44is what is that scent that you're wearing. I'm curious because I have been
- 26:45curious about that with a couple of guys I've been around, Like, I'm
- 26:48kind of curious, but I don't want to make them feel weird, and
- 26:52I don't want to feel weird, So I figured I'll just make it awkward
- 26:53in here for all of us, and I wanted to get your input.
- 26:56Just do it. You made the association. I like how you made the
- 27:00association between telling men wondering if it's okay to tell other men that they smell
- 27:07good, and suddenly you went from that to the to the catamaran invitation.
- 27:15I didn't do that. Ty did that. That was Trey. Oh good
- 27:18job, Tray. So so connection, what's the connection? Trey brought it
- 27:33up? You ask him to me. There's no connection. He said something
- 27:36that either we wanted to explain or didn't. And you you said you wanted
- 27:38to know. So I told you I'm with ever, there's a connection here.
- 27:41You wouldn't have brought up to the boat guy smelled good if there wasn't
- 27:45something I didn't And honestly, I didn't know what he smelled like because I
- 27:48wasn't that close to him. I said what I said, just you know,
- 27:49for the sake of the story, have you run one at a time.
- 27:55Gentlemen, let's not forget we also started this with you know, talking
- 27:59to about you know, Dan getting extra a baby powder on his bum bump,
- 28:02so you know he might have been feeling frisky as well. I was
- 28:04a toddler. Thank you planning this for decades. I think it's very important
- 28:11that we all make and agreed to the rule that we keep things within context
- 28:15for one another and by one another. I mean me. So you were
- 28:22feeling frisky and your bum bum was smelling good, and then you want to
- 28:26go tell another guy that he smelled good? Were you looking for a compliment
- 28:30in return? No, the compliment should be genuine. Maybe you did smell
- 28:36good. I don't know. I didn't ask Dan to answer your initial question.
- 28:41There's nothing weird about asking somebody what they're wearing, what sort of smell
- 28:45or cologne or perfume or whatever. If you like it, you like it
- 28:48to say, hey, sorry for the weird question, what are you wearing?
- 28:52Cool? Thanks? I'll google it. Appreciate you that's it. That's
- 28:55as far as it needs to go. The real question here is have you
- 29:00met with Boatman again? No? I have not have not seen him since
- 29:06that night. That was this morning, one and done. I bet he
- 29:15used He probably felt like that that I, you know, not okay.
- 29:26So I need to be careful because I had like two different phrases in my
- 29:30mind that we're both going to come back and bite me, and I don't
- 29:32want to say them. But basically, I bet he was disappointed that he
- 29:34gave us jewelry and we didn't give him anything in return. Usually, working
- 29:41about that, I forgot that part of the story. Did he gave you
- 29:48jewelry? M hmm, yeah, I remember that the beads punchline, but
- 29:55Terry clearly still does. I thought that was just a funny punchline. He
- 30:00actually gave you jewelry, Wasn't he just like, Hey, you guys want
- 30:03to see what I'm doing. No, what he said is that he's a
- 30:08he's an artist and he makes jewels. He makes, you know, a
- 30:11hand design jewelry, and he gave you some of this sounds like you're indebted
- 30:18to him some. I'm not saying you gotta you gotta open up the damn
- 30:22portal to him. But you know, you don't want to be indebted to
- 30:27this man, So buy him a couple of beers and say thanks for the
- 30:30jewelry. That way you don't feel obligated to go back to his boat.
- 30:36We absolutely did buy him a drink to say thank you for the to say
- 30:40thank you for the jewelry, so that way we didn't feel indebted, and
- 30:42also so that way we wouldn't feel like there's there's some sort of open loop
- 30:48where we owe him something. Oh, you know, you're likely to run
- 30:52into him again. Oklahoma is not that big of a steak. No,
- 31:00it's it's not, but it's not very dense population wise. I just like
- 31:11to go into him once before go to Trey. I mean, I just
- 31:18find it funny that it seems to be universal. You know, you give
- 31:21someone jewelry, they give you a beer in return, you just feel like
- 31:25you got screwed. That's one of the phrases I was trying to avoid saying
- 31:29earlier, because in this case he didn't. But what kind of jewelry?
- 31:37Artist jewelry? It was actually a pirate glass. Pirate glass glass that they
- 31:47found from you know, pirate ships or privateering ships that have you know,
- 31:52washed onto shore over the over the centuries. So he gave you a piece
- 31:57of glass, that's what it is. It's like a Heineken bottle. It's
- 32:01just, oh, no, this is pirate glass, and I come back
- 32:04to my boat and shut up. Honestly, That's one of the things I
- 32:07always think when someone shows me a green a green piece of broken glass on
- 32:12the beach and it looks kind of old because it's weathered, and then they
- 32:15say, look if I'm pirate glass, Like, man, that's that's that's
- 32:17I's a Heineken bottle from from right over there. But I mean it wasn't
- 32:23like a brooch or a necklace or anything like that. Fashion didn't you know,
- 32:29I don't know. No, it actually was. It was. It
- 32:31was. It was sort of almost a triangle shape piece of what he said
- 32:35was pirate glass um on a necklace with a sterling design around it. It
- 32:43looks like you're wearing it now, No, are you what's underneath your shirt?
- 32:49Or do you have that button button? It's the different necklace. That's
- 32:52that's the other one he gave you. No, I didn't take no,
- 32:57he only gave me one, and that one's in the car, so you
- 33:00carry it with you always. It may have it may have been adorned on
- 33:10my rearview mirror for a period of time. Is that like the upside down
- 33:15pineapple for the swingers thing? You leave it on your car so that way
- 33:20he spots you easily in the parking lot, and that's how he knows I'm
- 33:24game. Yeah, that's that's like your parking pass to the marina. The
- 33:28marina guard knows to let you in because you've got the pirate glass. Pirate
- 33:31glass for pirate ass. Just so you know, I'm using the idea promo.
- 33:45And you know, you may be right. That may be that may
- 33:46be his his sneaky way of claiming people in the marina as his, like
- 33:52those are his his people. When you're displaying it prominently from your rear view
- 33:59mirror, the thought actually crossed my mind. And that's and that's why I
- 34:02took it down. What is it? Is it in your car or is
- 34:07it taken down the console? Okay, so it's a little harder a spot.
- 34:10Somebody has to me walking into the parking lot to see. I mean,
- 34:14is it just like a reminder of opportunity lost. No, it's just
- 34:21it's just a necklace that I got from some old guy who said, you
- 34:23want to come see my boat? And I said, no, thank you.
- 34:29You're feeling anxious. Do you look down in your console and you see
- 34:31it and you suddenly feel comfort? No, especially especially now, because I
- 34:42look at that necklace and I now think of the two times i've I've told
- 34:45you guys about it, and it makes me want to throw it back into
- 34:49the ocean. You're going to be like Rose from Titanic, and you want
- 34:52to get on a boat and toss it off while Celine Dion sings in the
- 34:58background, all the missed opportunity of love Dan on clear nights, Do you
- 35:05hold the necklace and stare up at the moon and wonder if he's looking at
- 35:08the same moon you are, while knowing that all three of us could fit
- 35:15on that boat? Well, I certainly am. Now how did we get
- 35:27off of this? Please don't say get off right now? You're listening to
- 35:36the Treehouse because it goes online at Treehouse on air dot com. Let's walk
- 35:59in into the Treehouse. Jacqueline from Brooks Plumbing the website Rooks Plumbing, Texas
- 36:04dot Com. Their phone number. What you're gonna need at some point is
- 36:06two one four three six eight thirty eight thirty eight. That's two one four
- 36:09three six eight thirty eight thirty eight. So for this one, JACKL,
- 36:13I'm gonna throw a quick curveball at you. See if you can think on
- 36:15your feet here, do me a favorite name all of the plumbers on your
- 36:20staff. Um, I have Carlos, Pete, Wrangler, Philip Lewis,
- 36:28Roy, Oliver, Jose, Javier, Sean, Jerry Laudio, Chewy is
- 36:35a nickname, but his name is Chewey and Manuel, and I have a
- 36:37favorite story about all of them. Um. Pete rides with Jerry and we
- 36:42call them Pete and repeat. And then Wrangler applee name is my resident cowboy.
- 36:47He just competed at the the NFR Finals in Las Vegas as a team
- 36:52roper. Feel him since he was an infant. Philip, we call him
- 36:57Philly Cheesesteak, because why not. And then We've got two wands, big
- 37:01one and little one. And so I'm always trying to get the ladies at
- 37:05home Depot to differentiate for me which one it is. If we run to
- 37:07Home Depot, I'm like the big one. We call him Big Sexy.
- 37:09The little one, he's Paquita one. You know, I just I love
- 37:13them, and I'm proud of I'm proud of all of them because they work
- 37:17so hard and very they're earning their hours. You go in the field and
- 37:22you earn your hours as a plumber, and you have to test up.
- 37:24You have to be licensed at the state level. So I've seen some of
- 37:28them start as apprentices and go up to journeyman, apprentice, tradesmen, journeyman
- 37:30master. I had one gentleman out at this Texas State Board testing yesterday.
- 37:35So I just love them. I'm their biggest cheerleader for sure. The reason
- 37:37why I wanted to ask you that is because I know that myself included that
- 37:42if I have that if anyone has a contractor coming into their home, they
- 37:45want to make sure that that contractor is safe. And that's why I think
- 37:49it's so great to work with a company like Brooks Plumbing that you have.
- 37:54I think I counted like fifteen plumbers on your staff. Maybe I missed one
- 37:59or two and this was big one, one or two. I feel bad.
- 38:01Well, we won't tell him that he's probably new anyway. But the
- 38:05important thing is they're all safe. Jacqueline knows all of them, loves all
- 38:08of them, and she trusts them to go into your home as well as
- 38:12hers mine everyone's. So you have a plumbing issue, give Brooks Plumbing a
- 38:15call. Maybe you'll get lucky and you'll get you know, big one and
- 38:19little one at the same time. It is two one four three six eight
- 38:22thirty eight thirty eight two one four three six eight thirty eight thirty eight,
- 38:27or of course Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com. Thanks, it's the Treehouse.
- 38:37Let's welcome in. Carry Cook from Cook dfw Roofing and Restorations to the Treehouse,

- 39:00sure it's taken care of, and that's why we call COOKDFW dot com.
- 39:05So let's say, for example, carry that stormrolled through I for whatever reason,
- 39:09didn't call you before I called the insurance company like you've told us that
- 39:14we should do. But now I'm having an issue with the adjuster. Is
- 39:16that something that you can help with. Absolutely. Our first attempt would be
- 39:22to try to get the adjuster to come back out with us so we can
- 39:23go through it and point out what we find. If that doesn't work,
- 39:28then we hire a public adjuster that will do the same thing, but much
- 39:30more in depth. And it cost us money. So we're not going to
- 39:35hire someone to go out if we don't think you can file a claiming get
- 39:37covered on it. Gotcha, Oklahoma, it's really nice. Fine. So
- 39:44we know that there's a limit to your service area, but you do service
- 39:45all of North Texas, right, Oh. Absolutely, We've moved down to
- 39:49Georgetown and Leander. Oh wow. So if at some point you guys ever
- 39:52do decide to expand to the US Virgin Islands, I'm going to be very
- 39:57happy because I have some some some issues with my roof or I would love
- 40:00you look at But in order to do that, I'd probably have to pay
- 40:01for you to come down here. Right Well, I don't know. We
- 40:05have to talk to Janie about that one. Maybe we can make it a
- 40:06vacation trip. Okay, I smell a barter deal, so you need to
- 40:09call cookdfw dot com so I can help pay for their trip down here.
- 40:14So roof inspections are free. Call COOKDFW on their website. Is the number
- 40:19cookdfw dot com. You're in the treehouse, visit us online at Treehouse OnAir
- 40:28dot com. This segment up the Treehouse is brought to you by Brooks Plumbing.
- 40:37The website Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com. The phone number for any and
- 40:42all of your plumbing needs two one four three six eight thirty eight thirty eight.
- 40:45That's two one four three six eight thirty eight thirty eight. Anyone needing
- 40:51the plumbing gun at their homes? Non movement for the bubble. When you
- 40:58do, you called Brooks Plumbing. It's Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com. Two
- 41:01one four three six eight thirty eight thirty eight. Speaking of plumbing m No
- 41:07one asked. But I'm just going to tell you Joel is fine now from
- 41:12all the diarrhea problems that he was having before. It's such a weird feeling,
- 41:15though, when you go from you know, picking up you know,
- 41:19diarrhea every day for almost a week and then and then you get the the
- 41:25turnaround pat happens, and then he doesn't poop for almost two whole days,
- 41:30and you're like, Okay, we've overcorrected because the medicine he's on has now
- 41:35done too good of a job. Or maybe I shouldn't given him a whole
- 41:38bowl of kase so to stop him up. But it really is such an
- 41:43odd feeling. This is why I figured, you know, Trey and Everett
- 41:47being being doggy parents, you'll you'll appreciate whenever the dog is sick, and
- 41:52then all especially with diarrhea, and then that first time that they go number
- 41:55two and it's solid again. Oh, and you're so happy, good boy,
- 42:01good boy, Yeah, beyond elated. You were like, want to
- 42:05just roll around in a grass with him. Good job, except there's poop
- 42:07in there. But that's how good you feel. It's like, think,
- 42:09good job, Yes, you're solid again. I don't know this, joy
- 42:16Dan, because I don't own a dog. When when you are celebrating the
- 42:22the solid poops, do you grab it and pick it up and hold it
- 42:25up to the sun like a lion king or something like that, slid to
- 42:32start shouting it so the entire island. Can hear me it's important. Oh,
- 42:43I was just gonna say, I think it's important to sort of root
- 42:45around in it with a stick test the integrity of it makes sense. Everything's
- 42:51okay. Well yeah, I mean on the surface it could look solid,
- 42:53but it could be you know, liquid filled. It could be a doggy
- 43:00gusher. Is it is not molten dog poop? A dog Claire God.
- 43:10Speaking of animals, I'm was curious when we did our road show last month
- 43:17at Toady's in Bedford, ever you brought up something that is just kind of
- 43:22like up your alley, something completely random, out of left field. Do
- 43:29you have any owls yet in your backyard? No? Oh, I'm sorry,
- 43:36didn't happen to your owl feeder? No? No, I still have
- 43:39the owl house and I've got a camera inside. The only thing that's gone
- 43:42in there about a month and a half ago, there was a squirrel that
- 43:45went inside for about three and a half seconds. But aside from that,
- 43:49there's been no activity. Although we did hear an owl, a screech owl,
- 43:53which is what we're looking for in our neighbor's yard, who doesn't even
- 43:58have a house an owl house, by the way, So I'm like,
- 44:01come on, man, anything you think yeah, do you think maybe it's
- 44:06it's just being cautious like he sees it, but he doesn't want to move
- 44:07in entirely thinking well, maybe it's a trap. It's not fantastic owl house.
- 44:14It's perfectly decked out. Any owl would would love to live there,
- 44:19and and you know it's, let's face it, it's it's a place where
- 44:23owls get down. You know, they have chicks and you know, offspring,
- 44:28and and it's it's great for that. I've made a really nice little
- 44:31betting inside the owl house for you know, so they can get busy.
- 44:37And yet all owls seem to have forsaken my owl house. Do you think
- 44:43that the owls might uh see the wonderful owl house that's there for them and
- 44:47think, oh no, that's that's too nice for me. I I that's
- 44:52obviously somebody starts to rent for that. Yeah. Yeah, I think some
- 44:57of the owls may feel unworthy. So that's why I put up the sign.
- 45:06So someone asked, what's the signs? Say? Thank you, Drey,
- 45:10you're worthy? Have you have you thought about putting any jewelry in there?
- 45:20I'd considered it, but I think Dan's pretty well married to that necklace
- 45:23that he's gotten his console. I'd be happy to donate it if do you
- 45:29think if it'll produce some owls? All right, I'm gonna duly noted.
- 45:34I want that piece of jewelry. I want the pirate glass so I can
- 45:37put it inside the owl House and people will be able to see it because
- 45:39I can stream it online whether or not it's in there. So the clock
- 45:45is ticking Dan, all right, Well, when I when I, when
- 45:47I come in July, I will, I will bring you some some of
- 45:50that pirate glass and you can dangle it in there and see if it is
- 45:52enticing to have some owls. Get in there and get it on for your
- 45:57ol porn. So you got mail service in Oklahoma? Right, yes,
- 46:05yeah, they have mail here. You could you could send it to me.
- 46:07You could send to me today. Well, I gotta wait till July
- 46:12because you know your game. You just want to hang on to it as
- 46:14long as you possibly can, clinging to it like grim death and hopes that
- 46:17I'll forget between that and July, which I won't. But again I say,
- 46:22wail it to me. It's mainly because shipping, shipping is kind of
- 46:25crazy here. How much would it cost to send it a lot? How
- 46:30much? I don't know. See this is just all made up. It's
- 46:37gonna be really expensive. How much is it gonna cost? I don't know.
- 46:38I don't know. It's tough. Costs more to ship, you know,
- 46:42back to the States from here than than than you would expect. I
- 46:45think you can do one of those that you go to the post office and
- 46:46get one of those boxes that if it fits its ships, it might it
- 46:50might work that way. Those things are ten bucks. Dan. In Dan's
- 46:57defense, he has another month and a half on the island. What if
- 47:00he runs into that guy. I think it's sentimental. I think Dan doesn't
- 47:05want to get rid of the necklace because it's it's special to him, represents
- 47:08a special night. How awkward would that be? Oh? Sorry, I
- 47:12gave your jewelry to an owl. Thank you for having my backtray. You're
- 47:17welcome. I think i'll pay shipping. You just tell me what it is.
- 47:22I'll ven mo you. Okay. Although I am curious about this everytt
- 47:28the owl thing? How did that come about? Is because something happened to
- 47:30me recently and I'm wondering if it's an age related thing, like you reach
- 47:35a certain age and you start not necessarily bird watching, but noticing birds more
- 47:42often than I than I used to. And I thought about you with the
- 47:45owls, and I thought, is this sort of like the next step in
- 47:49an aging process or maturity is you start looking at birds more and you're like,
- 47:52I think I'd like to see more of them. And then next thing
- 47:54you know, you have an outfit for you know, bird watching, and
- 47:58you've got special you know, bnockillers and whatnot. Yes, increasingly noticing birds
- 48:04as part of aging. Well, there's another one that I've noticed. And
- 48:10it wasn't because I was curious or I was looking to notice any sort of
- 48:15a new bird. This one just made its presence known. So it seems
- 48:22that one of our neighbors nearby has I'm assuming it's a bird, has some
- 48:28type of new pet. And it's kind of terrifying sounding. So I decided
- 48:34i'd send the audio to Alphie for you know, further deep treehouse analysis.
- 48:38And so I want you guys to hear this and let me know if you
- 48:42know what kind of a animal this could be. Okay, Dan, that's
- 48:57a crackhead. What the f was that. I don't know. Again,
- 49:15tell me that that thing is like the stuff of nightmares. I mean,
- 49:17Alphie said crackhead. I would have said the kraken. This is in your
- 49:30neighbor's yard. Yes, I don't know which one, because we're up on
- 49:35a hill and you can see you know, ten twelve other houses kind of
- 49:42below us, and I know it's coming. I know the general vicinity that
- 49:45it's coming from, you know, because audio, you know, bounces off
- 49:49of things. But you can kind of get an idea, but you can't
- 49:52quite pinpoint it because it's bouncing off of so many objects. But it's outside,
- 49:59like that's not inside somebody's house. They've got it, and it's brand
- 50:01new. This is brand new to just this past week. So it sounds
- 50:05like someone got some type of new pet. And clearly they don't want it
- 50:10inside because it's loud and terrifying, so they speat it outside for all the
- 50:15rest of us to experience. Like Hamran Dan paying for Jewelry, follow all
