- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with I Heart Radio. So we were sitting in the
- 0:18Speaker 1: newsroom yesterday and then again today saying, man, there's really
- 0:22Speaker 1: not a lot going on. Wow, that changed at the
- 0:24Speaker 1: last our Welcome to a Wednesday edition of NFL Now
- 0:29Speaker 1: on NFL Network from our newsroom in Los Angeles. My
- 0:32Speaker 1: name is Andrew Ceciliano. We might have four new starting
- 0:37Speaker 1: quarterbacks week number twelve. Let's get to the big one,
- 0:40Speaker 1: the big ones out of Flora Park, New Jersey, where
- 0:42Speaker 1: after hinting he might do something on Monday, Robert Sala
- 0:46Speaker 1: actually did it today. He benched Zach Wilson and he's
- 0:52Speaker 1: naming Mike White the starting quarterback. Right now, it's a
- 0:56Speaker 1: week by week thing. But right now, the Jets, after
- 0:59Speaker 1: their loss to the Patriots this past Sunday, have fallen
- 1:02Speaker 1: out of the a f C playoff picture. They're in
- 1:05Speaker 1: the eight scene at six and four. The big thing
- 1:10Speaker 1: I want to make sure I address on this one. Um,
- 1:12Speaker 1: I just want to make sure you guys all listen
- 1:13Speaker 1: to this very carefully. Please, Uh, Zach's career here is
- 1:17Speaker 1: not over. I know that's going to be the narrative
- 1:19Speaker 1: I know that what that's what everybody wants to wants
- 1:22Speaker 1: to shout out, and that's not even close to the case.
- 1:24Speaker 1: The intent, the full intent is to make sure Zach
- 1:26Speaker 1: gets back on the football field at some point this year. UM.
- 1:30Speaker 1: When that is, I'll make that decision. I'm going to
- 1:32Speaker 1: take a day to day. The biggest thing with Zach,
- 1:34Speaker 1: and the same things that we've talked about, is the
- 1:37Speaker 1: young man needs a reset. Um. His decision making has
- 1:41Speaker 1: been fine, his practice, habits, all that stuff have been fine,
- 1:43Speaker 1: but there's some basic fundamental things that have gotten really
- 1:46Speaker 1: out of whack for him. And this is just an
- 1:48Speaker 1: opportunity for him to sit back, uh, focus on those things,
- 1:52Speaker 1: find a way to get reconnect to all the different
- 1:54Speaker 1: things that we uh we fell in love with during
- 1:57Speaker 1: the draft process. And it's something that I feel like
- 2:00Speaker 1: he's gonna be able to do. UM. I think to
- 2:02Speaker 1: ask him to do all those things while preparing for
- 2:05Speaker 1: a game is unfair. Um. But but at the same time,
- 2:09Speaker 1: it's uh, it's something just talking with the Sack that
- 2:11Speaker 1: I think we're all excited to attack. And this is
- 2:14Speaker 1: you know, like I said, it's is it a small
- 2:16Speaker 1: step back absolutely for him? But do I think it's
- 2:18Speaker 1: going to be a great leap forward when when he
- 2:20Speaker 1: does get a chance to reset himself. Absolutely, And um,
- 2:24Speaker 1: so this is not a This is not putting a
- 2:27Speaker 1: nail in his coffin, This is not that, It's not
- 2:29Speaker 1: even close to that. But but I do believe at
- 2:31Speaker 1: the end of this is going to be a rejuvenated,
- 2:34Speaker 1: renewed young man that once he reconnects to is to
- 2:38Speaker 1: all the different things that we're trying to reconnect to.
- 2:40Speaker 1: He's going to show why he was the second pick.
- 2:42Speaker 1: All right, there is a lot to unpack their Ian Rappaport,
- 2:46Speaker 1: Mike Garrel, Folo, Mike White is going to start, and
- 2:50Speaker 1: and Joe Flacco is going to be the number two.
- 2:52Speaker 1: So ian Zack Wilson won't even dress this coming Sunday
- 2:56Speaker 1: when the Jets face the Bears, He's going to be inactive.
- 3:00Speaker 1: The line that stands out to me there is the
- 3:02Speaker 1: young man needs a reset. Reset is the right word.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And if you want someone to kind of take a
- 3:09Speaker 1: deep breath, collect himself, having him watch from the sideline
- 3:13Speaker 1: not a bad way to do it. And I remember,
- 3:15Speaker 1: you know, the Jets sort of thought that this was
- 3:16Speaker 1: going to happen last year, and actually thought it was
- 3:18Speaker 1: gonna happen early in this preseason two when Zach Wilson
- 3:21Speaker 1: had the opportunity to sit back, watch everything, just listen
- 3:24Speaker 1: to meetings, not be the focal point, but just listen.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Maybe it would help him moving forward. And Mike, this
- 3:29Speaker 1: is not a case of Zach Wilson not working hard
- 3:32Speaker 1: enough for not getting it. He works very hard. He's
- 3:35Speaker 1: there at all hours, he tries everything is done the
- 3:38Speaker 1: right way and in fact, probably would benefit him a
- 3:40Speaker 1: little bit to take a deep breath and maybe not
- 3:42Speaker 1: put so much on his plate, but that's just not
- 3:44Speaker 1: the way he's wired. Clearly none of it is working,
- 3:47Speaker 1: and this Jets organization hasn't totally I would say lost
- 3:51Speaker 1: faith in Zach Wilson. There is any chance he comes
- 3:53Speaker 1: back and shows him is that he is the franchise guy.
- 3:56Speaker 1: But their biggest issue is a lot of other places
- 3:58Speaker 1: they're really good, including the record, And so you cannot
- 4:01Speaker 1: have Robert Solomike can't go in that locker room and
- 4:05Speaker 1: say we're giving our team the best chance to win
- 4:07Speaker 1: with Zack Wilson playing as he is. That's why Mike
- 4:10Speaker 1: White makes a lot of sense yeah. I made the
- 4:13Speaker 1: point of Good Morning Football yesterday that it would actually
- 4:16Speaker 1: be easier for Robert Salad to stick by Zach Wilson
- 4:19Speaker 1: if they weren't in a playoff Rakes. But they are
- 4:21Speaker 1: right now, and the players are looking around saying, hey,
- 4:23Speaker 1: we gotta put the best guys out there for us
- 4:25Speaker 1: right now, and right now, Zack Wilson is not that
- 4:28Speaker 1: guy now. Ian Rappaport Andrew, I'll tell you, is shaming
- 4:31Speaker 1: me privately for saying that I was surprised by this,
- 4:34Speaker 1: and in large part because I thought the surprise or
- 4:38Speaker 1: aspect of it was that, you know, maybe you say
- 4:41Speaker 1: like you're on the verge of being bench. Hey, I'm
- 4:43Speaker 1: considering it. I'm not uh standing behind you the way
- 4:46Speaker 1: that I have previously. So you got one more chance,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and I thought this was going to be the one
- 4:50Speaker 1: more chance. But the Jets make the move. And Ian,
- 4:53Speaker 1: I hear what you're saying. He doesn't work. It's not
- 4:54Speaker 1: like he doesn't work hard enough and all that stuff,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and that's great. He's just got a bit of the
- 4:58Speaker 1: yips right now, not as bad as somebody else in
- 5:01Speaker 1: the New York market previously. It's not like Chuck noblock
- 5:03Speaker 1: where he can't throw at the first base, but sometimes
- 5:05Speaker 1: when he's trying to check the ball down or throw
- 5:08Speaker 1: the short around, he's throwing five feet over guy's heads.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And he was doing that back in the spring, and
- 5:13Speaker 1: we were hearing a lot of that coming out of
- 5:15Speaker 1: O T A S and minicamp and these other things,
- 5:17Speaker 1: and you know, you want to say, well, relax, it's
- 5:20Speaker 1: they're still in shorts. But now we're seeing it on
- 5:22Speaker 1: a playing field, and I believe we're gonna roll a
- 5:24Speaker 1: couple of them right now that you're watching. So you
- 5:26Speaker 1: know that's why they want him to reset, take a
- 5:28Speaker 1: step back, clear your mind, and then come back on
- 5:31Speaker 1: the field. I do believe Robert Salo when he says
- 5:33Speaker 1: that Zach Wilson will be back under center at some
- 5:35Speaker 1: point this season. But yeah, he needs a pause, reset,
- 5:38Speaker 1: whatever you wanna call. Yeah, And and Mike, you know
- 5:41Speaker 1: you're sorry, just to follow up all and Mike said
- 5:44Speaker 1: he And now we're both here hearing that Zach Wilson
- 5:47Speaker 1: the yips was the word. We were told that just
- 5:49Speaker 1: struggling to make simple basic throws, trying to figure out
- 5:53Speaker 1: what was wrong was in his mechanics, was in his mind,
- 5:56Speaker 1: like why are these simple throws just not able to
- 5:59Speaker 1: be made? And this was back in the spring, sort
- 6:01Speaker 1: of hope that somebody can work through it, and then
- 6:03Speaker 1: he had the injury that did not help. So nothing
- 6:06Speaker 1: has gotten better, forcing him to sit back and reset
- 6:09Speaker 1: and make sense, if only just so we can go
- 6:11Speaker 1: back to being a regular person who can make a
- 6:14Speaker 1: regular throw, Sala said. And he was asked specifically, did
- 6:18Speaker 1: Zack Wilson's comments on the podium after the game in
- 6:21Speaker 1: which he said he didn't feel like he let the
- 6:23Speaker 1: defense down to the rest of the team down to
- 6:25Speaker 1: that factor. He said no. He said that Wilson did
- 6:28Speaker 1: address the team and and said that he did not
- 6:31Speaker 1: think there was an issue in the locker room. But
- 6:32Speaker 1: you can go talk to the locker room about that.
- 6:34Speaker 1: He said, everyone understands it. Also went out of the
- 6:36Speaker 1: way to say, look, it's not all his fault, their
- 6:38Speaker 1: drop passes, there are other things, but that they basically
- 6:40Speaker 1: weren't doing the fundamentals, just running passing his words, not mine,
- 6:44Speaker 1: like the easy stuff, getting the layups, and and when
- 6:48Speaker 1: you're missing the layups and you have a top ten defense, uh,
- 6:51Speaker 1: that's bad. And they do have a top ten defense
- 6:53Speaker 1: after being worst in the NFL a year ago. To
- 6:57Speaker 1: Robert Sala's credit, there all right, Ian, Mike, thank you.
- 7:00Speaker 1: The numbers are bad. There's another way to sugarcoat it.
- 7:02Speaker 1: They are really really bad and this team is not winning.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Is it all his fault? No, not at all. Mike
- 7:10Speaker 1: White is still a guy who last year week seven
- 7:13Speaker 1: through for four hundred yards. He later had a game
- 7:15Speaker 1: a couple of weeks later where he got picked off
- 7:17Speaker 1: four times. Mark Rossbuckey Brooks Steve White with me now
- 7:20Speaker 1: to make sense of a one that Mark I, I
- 7:23Speaker 1: know we all saw coming. But once you do this
- 7:28Speaker 1: and when they say, well, we're gonna try to get
- 7:30Speaker 1: it back on the field, okay, great. So let's say
- 7:31Speaker 1: he beats the Bears, or let's say he doesn't beat
- 7:34Speaker 1: the Bears. He being Mike White. If you think Zack
- 7:36Speaker 1: Wilson performs well in practice, you're gonna throw him back
- 7:39Speaker 1: in against the vikings of the Bills. That doesn't make sense. No,
- 7:44Speaker 1: I think now that you've made this move, that you
- 7:46Speaker 1: can't play Zach Wilson the rest of the year. And look,
- 7:49Speaker 1: Mike White is not good enough to get the Jets
- 7:50Speaker 1: to the playoffs with the Super Bowl. Let's get that
- 7:53Speaker 1: out of the way. He had his chance last time.
- 7:54Speaker 1: He can't do worse than Zack Wilson. But he's not
- 7:56Speaker 1: the guy. But let's just get back to zat Wilson
- 7:59Speaker 1: and you have two l two layers. It's the on
- 8:02Speaker 1: field which was terrible, and he looks like this guy
- 8:05Speaker 1: is not a viable NFL quarterback. But then you got
- 8:07Speaker 1: to go to the off the field. And that's really
- 8:09Speaker 1: the bigger issue of when this week I said they
- 8:12Speaker 1: have to pull this guy because there's been too many
- 8:14Speaker 1: rumblings in the locker room from the head coach about
- 8:18Speaker 1: guys not being connected to him. He's not a leader.
- 8:21Speaker 1: They're not following him. And when a team does not
- 8:24Speaker 1: believe in their franchise quarterback, they have nowhere to go
- 8:28Speaker 1: with that guy. Now to sit Zack Wilson and let
- 8:31Speaker 1: him learn he did that last year. Leaders that I've
- 8:34Speaker 1: been around, the Eli Mannings that Donovan mcnabbs, they're born
- 8:38Speaker 1: that you can't make a leader in the guys that
- 8:41Speaker 1: I've been around, and I don't think you can make
- 8:44Speaker 1: Zack Wilson into a leader. And there was some of
- 8:47Speaker 1: this coming out of the draft with is he a
- 8:50Speaker 1: true leader? Do the do his teammates follow him? And
- 8:53Speaker 1: now you're seeing this manifest itself with the Jets. So
- 8:56Speaker 1: will he become a better leader in the during the season.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I don't think so. Is his career over Do the
- 9:01Speaker 1: Jets have to try with him? Yes? But the best
- 9:04Speaker 1: thing for him maybe to get out of there and
- 9:06Speaker 1: years down the line improve on that a lot of
- 9:09Speaker 1: Geno Smith, But I don't know any top tier great
- 9:12Speaker 1: quarterback now in the league who has had his chance
- 9:15Speaker 1: and then alienated the team. If that's what's going on,
- 9:18Speaker 1: playing poorly and then say go sit down, You'll get
- 9:21Speaker 1: better and be a great quarterback. Slid did mention. Geno
- 9:24Speaker 1: Smith also mentioned our Kurt Warner who joins us next hour,
- 9:26Speaker 1: as guys that, in his words, took a step back
- 9:28Speaker 1: and then took a big step forward. We've seen it
- 9:30Speaker 1: this year with Gino Bucky. I was listening to you
- 9:33Speaker 1: and DJ on the Movie six podcast on Monday, and
- 9:36Speaker 1: you guys both made the point that if you go
- 9:38Speaker 1: back and look at the first half, it was windy,
- 9:41Speaker 1: was Bill Belichick, you had a bad Denzel Mims drop
- 9:43Speaker 1: that it wasn't nearly as bad as the second half.
- 9:47Speaker 1: The second half was a disaster. What do you see
- 9:50Speaker 1: when you look at the film? Look, man, before I
- 9:54Speaker 1: can even get to the film, I knew it was
- 9:56Speaker 1: over when he had the pro postgame pressor. Because the
- 9:59Speaker 1: thing about the quarterback position, it ain't a physical position,
- 10:02Speaker 1: it's a leadership position. That's why in the honey Ken
- 10:05Speaker 1: give me the starting quarterback for the Washington Commanders, because
- 10:08Speaker 1: there has to be something about the quarterback that gives
- 10:12Speaker 1: the team hope. Whether it's his ability, is his moxie, grit, confidence,
- 10:18Speaker 1: some of that has to show through. And when you
- 10:20Speaker 1: hear guys come after Zach Wilson and take accountable accountability
- 10:26Speaker 1: for the offense, his failures and he has it, it's
- 10:29Speaker 1: hard to be connected. So Mark said it. Mark even
- 10:32Speaker 1: said it in a very soft shoot way. It's a wrap.
- 10:35Speaker 1: He can't be the starting quarterback for the New York
- 10:37Speaker 1: Jets again and have credibility in that locker room. He
- 10:41Speaker 1: is going to have to repair his career somewhere else
- 10:44Speaker 1: because the guys in that locker room will never believe
- 10:47Speaker 1: that he can give them to the Promised Land. What
- 10:50Speaker 1: do you think, Well, I mean, look, first, there's just
- 10:52Speaker 1: so much to unpack here, but but to get to
- 10:55Speaker 1: bucking Mark's point, Look what we're seeing here, guys. We've
- 10:58Speaker 1: seen Carson Wentz go this route. We've seen Sam Donald
- 11:02Speaker 1: previously with the Jets go to the give it a try,
- 11:05Speaker 1: bring him back. Guys aren't buying into him. You know,
- 11:09Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield. We're seeing these first and second, first and
- 11:12Speaker 1: second round, our first and second overall picks not hit
- 11:14Speaker 1: Marcus Mariota lose his job. So you know, Mark knows
- 11:18Speaker 1: about personnel. It's hard to hit on a quarterback. And
- 11:21Speaker 1: you look at you know, you try to overlook some
- 11:22Speaker 1: of the things people are saying about them coming out
- 11:24Speaker 1: of the draft. Is he a leader or not? Try
- 11:26Speaker 1: and justify with the athleticism. Maybe, you know, you think
- 11:29Speaker 1: you can coach him up. You have a certain locker
- 11:31Speaker 1: room that could handle this type of thing. That's part
- 11:33Speaker 1: of it. Now. You heard Ian and Garret Folo talk
- 11:35Speaker 1: about him having the yips. How coinsled Dennett coincidental? Is
- 11:40Speaker 1: it to you? Guys? They're playing the Chicago Bears this week, right,
- 11:43Speaker 1: and they're playing justin Fields taking nine picks behind him
- 11:48Speaker 1: in the same draft. Who's gotten it? They're playing in
- 11:51Speaker 1: New York. Can you imagine if Justin Fields, who's nicked up,
- 11:54Speaker 1: where to go out and outplay Zach Wilson. How those
- 11:56Speaker 1: Illo Jets fans are booing Zach Wilson off the field
- 11:59Speaker 1: if he has the yips? Now, what could that do
- 12:01Speaker 1: to this kid's psyche? There's so much things we're hearing now.
- 12:04Speaker 1: You know, you talk about a reset coming up. You
- 12:07Speaker 1: can't put it back in if they're winning, well, I mean,
- 12:09Speaker 1: and if they're losing, what does that say? Like the schedule,
- 12:12Speaker 1: Let's say they beat the Bears, Okay, so well, he's
- 12:14Speaker 1: gonna clearly start against the Vikings the next week. But
- 12:16Speaker 1: let's say Mike White plays poorly. Wouldn't you then have
- 12:19Speaker 1: to go to Flacco against the Vikings or Flacco against
- 12:23Speaker 1: the Bills. I don't know, honestly why they don't go
- 12:25Speaker 1: to Flacco now, I don't. I don't understand that part.
- 12:27Speaker 1: And he played well in September. Well enough, This is
- 12:30Speaker 1: just I mean, there's just so much going on here
- 12:32Speaker 1: because we've seen guys like Jamis Winston get bench. Remember
- 12:34Speaker 1: that year he's going back and forth with Ryan Fitzpatrick. Righten,
- 12:38Speaker 1: he got it back a little bit Jamis never really
- 12:41Speaker 1: lost the locker room um personally, you know where there's
- 12:44Speaker 1: playing the interceptions, that was part of it. But I
- 12:46Speaker 1: mean there was just so many things. You know, we've
- 12:49Speaker 1: seen go back with these quarterbacks. It's hard to hear
- 12:51Speaker 1: this what I want to go back to mark Um
- 12:53Speaker 1: because we look at the Jets. They tried it with
- 12:55Speaker 1: Donald inen they followed up with Zack Wilson. If this
- 12:58Speaker 1: doesn't hit, I mean, what does this do organizationally? Because
- 13:02Speaker 1: we see why the Jets they continue to lose. They're
- 13:04Speaker 1: not chanting Jing because I can't hit on the quarterback. Yeah,
- 13:08Speaker 1: as if Jess Fans haven't gone through enough tournament. First
- 13:10Speaker 1: you got the sixth pick with Sanchez years ago, then
- 13:13Speaker 1: you got Donald the second pick, you miss on that.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Now you miss again on Zach Wilson, and yes, this
- 13:17Speaker 1: set you back. You have the talented team. But okay,
- 13:20Speaker 1: now where do we go in next year's draft? In
- 13:23Speaker 1: free agency? We're trying to get that quarterback. But just
- 13:26Speaker 1: going back to Zack Wilson again and the leadership and
- 13:28Speaker 1: the players that I've scouted. You mentioned justin Fields and
- 13:31Speaker 1: justin Fields his whole life was a leader, his whole
- 13:34Speaker 1: life was the alpha. Comparing you talked about Carson wentzm
- 13:37Speaker 1: with Heineke, But remember when Carson wentzon that Eagles drafted
- 13:41Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts and he got in there. The team gravitated
- 13:43Speaker 1: towards him. You know why, because Jalen Hurts was that
- 13:46Speaker 1: alpha his whole life. That's all he knew. He exuded
- 13:50Speaker 1: greatness in New York. Being the franchise quarterback, you have
- 13:54Speaker 1: to be that guy one T four seven And we
- 13:56Speaker 1: had Eli in New York, good batter of different struggles,
- 14:00Speaker 1: all that, Eli still exuded that. I'm still the guy
- 14:03Speaker 1: and the teammates loved him and fought for him no
- 14:06Speaker 1: matter how good or bad he played, because he did
- 14:09Speaker 1: everything the right way. He was a leader. The guys
- 14:11Speaker 1: looked at him, and you just can't manufacture that in
- 14:15Speaker 1: the team. Another quote missed by Solid where he said
- 14:17Speaker 1: guys are irritated by him, they don't hate him. What
- 14:21Speaker 1: I've just never heard that about a quarterback, a franchise
- 14:24Speaker 1: quarterback and head coach say that. So I wasn't trying
- 14:28Speaker 1: to saw suit Buck Bucky. You know you're you got
- 14:30Speaker 1: a little more cash here you can say, you know,
- 14:32Speaker 1: it's a rap for him. So yes, it's the wrap. No, no, no,
- 14:38Speaker 1: I wasn't saying it like that. But look, Mark, let's
- 14:41Speaker 1: be honest. You know, when you lose your team, you
- 14:44Speaker 1: lose the locker room. It's hard for that guy to
- 14:46Speaker 1: go back in it. And we have pointed out several cases.
- 14:49Speaker 1: You talked about Carson Winz and Sam don On some
- 14:51Speaker 1: of those other guys. It would just always be hard
- 14:53Speaker 1: for Zack Wilson to stand in front of the team
- 14:56Speaker 1: and give them this win one for the Gipper's speech
- 14:58Speaker 1: and those guys are going wa wa wa walk. And
- 15:02Speaker 1: so at the end of the day, what the Jets
- 15:04Speaker 1: have to do, And I give Robert Salo credit. At
- 15:07Speaker 1: some point, you have to make decisions depended upon like
- 15:10Speaker 1: independent upon where he got was drafted, how much money
- 15:13Speaker 1: they're making. You gotta put the best player in there,
- 15:15Speaker 1: and it's clear right now he's not the best player
- 15:18Speaker 1: to give them the best opportunity to win at quarterback.
- 15:20Speaker 1: And so you have to move on. What they do
- 15:22Speaker 1: with him after that you handle. But right now, for
- 15:25Speaker 1: the Jets, they had to put somebody else in. If
- 15:27Speaker 1: not Robert Sala loses the locker room, he begins to
- 15:31Speaker 1: lose his own credibility in front of the team. Yeah,
- 15:34Speaker 1: and to think back during training camp, a bunch of
- 15:36Speaker 1: guys c J. Zala comes to mind wearing like the
- 15:38Speaker 1: time Man of the Year Zach Wilson t shirt. But
- 15:42Speaker 1: to their credit collectively, this team is playing well enough
- 15:45Speaker 1: where this story is the back page now and not
- 15:46Speaker 1: the fact that Aaron Judge is in San Francisco meeting
- 15:49Speaker 1: with the Giants. Both the Giants, the Football Giants, and
- 15:52Speaker 1: the Jets are playing well and they are relevant here.
- 15:55Speaker 1: They're making a quarterback change in Flora Park. Thank you, Bucky,
- 15:58Speaker 1: and thank you Mark. Steve as well, let's continue with
- 16:00Speaker 1: more quarterback news here because the Jets do play the Bears,
- 16:04Speaker 1: and Steve, as you may should Justin Fields is nicked up.
- 16:07Speaker 1: He's gonna be on the practice fielding, and a Mike
- 16:09Speaker 1: back with me what Matt eber flews Ian say today
- 16:12Speaker 1: about Fields. He's gonna be on the practice field. But
- 16:15Speaker 1: they're not practicing. It is basically a walk through today
- 16:18Speaker 1: for the Chicago Bears as they pull back a little
- 16:20Speaker 1: bit physically tommy year when players start to get a
- 16:23Speaker 1: little worn down. That seems like where the Bears are,
- 16:25Speaker 1: but probably good news though that Justin Fields is going
- 16:28Speaker 1: to be limited in that walkthrough again not doing very much,
- 16:31Speaker 1: but still gonna be out in the field at least
- 16:33Speaker 1: giving him a chance to Mike that he would be
- 16:35Speaker 1: able to play on Sunday. It is a left shoulder injury,
- 16:38Speaker 1: it's not a right shoulder injury, and there is optimism
- 16:41Speaker 1: among the Bears that he would potentially be able to
- 16:43Speaker 1: get out there and play. The only issue is he's
- 16:46Speaker 1: very physical. He takes a lot of hits, he runs
- 16:48Speaker 1: a lot. So are you putting him at risk if
- 16:51Speaker 1: you put him out there because he's not a pocket
- 16:54Speaker 1: pastor and maybe he's you know, would have to play
- 16:56Speaker 1: a little different than he otherwise would because he's injured.
- 16:59Speaker 1: A lot of questions going into this for the Bears. Meanwhile, Ian,
- 17:03Speaker 1: we had a segment on Good Morning Football in my
- 17:05Speaker 1: second g MFB reference of the show so far. It
- 17:07Speaker 1: was called head Scratchers and my head Scratchers. My head
- 17:10Speaker 1: scratcher was going to be why is Lovely Smith still
- 17:13Speaker 1: sticking by Davis Mills like you gotta make a change
- 17:15Speaker 1: at some point. We never got to it, so I
- 17:17Speaker 1: never made air. But Lovely Smith is going to make
- 17:19Speaker 1: a change. Now, he wouldn't say it to the media
- 17:21Speaker 1: today in his press conference, but sources tell me and
- 17:24Speaker 1: also you and Tom, you guys were on it too.
- 17:26Speaker 1: I'll give you a piece of the credit here that
- 17:28Speaker 1: Kyle Allen will make the start for the Texans against
- 17:31Speaker 1: the Miami Dolphins. Davis Mills, who had uh so so
- 17:35Speaker 1: many high hopes surrounding him coming into the season, just
- 17:38Speaker 1: hasn't delivered. So it will be Alan. I got a
- 17:40Speaker 1: bunch of people saying who who on my tweet. How
- 17:43Speaker 1: about a guy that threw for thirty yards a couple
- 17:46Speaker 1: of years ago and his seven and ten in his career. Yeah,
- 17:49Speaker 1: Kyle Allen back as a starting quarterback for Houston. Let's
- 17:52Speaker 1: see if maybe the expectations that weren't delivered upon we're
- 17:56Speaker 1: suttinly because of Davis Mills, or if it's a widespread
- 17:59Speaker 1: problem with Houston. Smith quite combative on the podium today,
- 18:05Speaker 1: Mean would barely acknowledge that they were playing a game
- 18:07Speaker 1: on Sunday and said, we have a starting lineup. When
- 18:10Speaker 1: it changes, I'll let you know. I love you. Have
- 18:12Speaker 1: you actually picked the quarterback? Like he's just not telling
- 18:15Speaker 1: us picking quarterbacks? What do you mean picking quarterbacks. We
- 18:18Speaker 1: had a quarterback last week he pushed back hard. All right,
- 18:23Speaker 1: coming up next? All the Patriots defense does his bench
- 18:27Speaker 1: quarterbacks and get coaches fired? What do they do? The
- 18:30Speaker 1: Vikings this week? Fulling into ballace. But you're to team
- 18:35Speaker 1: for the South that I appreciate the world. Ye never
- 18:37Speaker 1: calling me button. All right, I'm excited for football to
- 18:42Speaker 1: mark because these games are great. We have five winning teams.
- 18:45Speaker 1: We have the Bills, we have the upstart Lions trying
- 18:50Speaker 1: to win four inn We got the Giants, got the Cowboys' focus.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Now on the late game here on a day before Thanksgiving.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Addition to the NFL now Patriots and Vikings two teams
- 19:00Speaker 1: that had very different stories this past Sunday. Yeah, the
- 19:03Speaker 1: offense wasn't that good for Jones, but they eat out
- 19:06Speaker 1: of victory with a late punt return and the Vikings
- 19:09Speaker 1: the worst home loss since the sixties. It was kind
- 19:13Speaker 1: of ugly. All right, Well, we're um scrambling away here
- 19:20Speaker 1: a short week. UM, really good team to get ready
- 19:23Speaker 1: for here. Minnesota's very well coached team in all three phases,
- 19:30Speaker 1: have a lot of explosive players. UM really good and
- 19:33Speaker 1: all three phase of the game. So I'll be a
- 19:35Speaker 1: big test force out there, tremendous football mind. The sample
- 19:38Speaker 1: size is large. How long he's done it, um, with
- 19:41Speaker 1: so many different players. Um. And I think he's he's
- 19:45Speaker 1: always um, you know, adapted to whatever he feels is
- 19:48Speaker 1: going to work that year, that week. Um. You know
- 19:52Speaker 1: he's he's really the best ever. And uh you know
- 19:56Speaker 1: his his track record speaks for itself. Kirk Cousins, they're
- 20:01Speaker 1: obviously Mark and Steve talking about the man who preceded
- 20:04Speaker 1: him on that sound by rip Bill Belichick who Steve
- 20:06Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago in essence, Sam ellen Ger
- 20:09Speaker 1: benched and Matt Bryan I'm sorry, Frank Reich fired. And
- 20:12Speaker 1: then last week now we have Zack Wilson benched. Um.
- 20:16Speaker 1: So yeah, there's that for the Vikings after getting blown
- 20:18Speaker 1: out by the Cowboys forty to three. I think Kirk
- 20:21Speaker 1: Cousins and Kevin O'Connell, I think they're okay, I think
- 20:24Speaker 1: you get but that's what he does. That's facts. It'd
- 20:26Speaker 1: be facts though, as the kids say, but look, you
- 20:29Speaker 1: know this is a situation mark when you when you
- 20:30Speaker 1: look at this game, this page to defense is playing
- 20:32Speaker 1: so well, they're gonna be a little problematic for Kirk Cousins,
- 20:35Speaker 1: which is why Dalvin Cook has got to be a factor,
- 20:38Speaker 1: right They They the Vikings have to keep it close
- 20:40Speaker 1: early enough for Cook to be a threat as a
- 20:42Speaker 1: runner and a receiver. Because you look back over the
- 20:45Speaker 1: past few years, the Vikings go as Dalvin Cook goes.
- 20:47Speaker 1: If he's out injured, they tend not to play well.
- 20:50Speaker 1: But he's healthy, they tend to play well. So they've
- 20:52Speaker 1: got to get him going in a game like this,
- 20:54Speaker 1: and as you know, with the way the Patriots play,
- 20:57Speaker 1: they ushould take away the best receiver, our best players
- 21:00Speaker 1: at Jefferson or is that Cook. They'll probably start with Cooks.
- 21:03Speaker 1: We may see him doing sometuff and stuff like this
- 21:05Speaker 1: catching the ball. The key markers that get it back
- 21:08Speaker 1: to you is can the Vikings get their offense going
- 21:10Speaker 1: enough to catch an early lead to make this Patriots offense,
- 21:13Speaker 1: which has a hard time scoring, play from behind and
- 21:16Speaker 1: play catch up. Right. It's it's not as just the
- 21:20Speaker 1: Patriots offense is a juggernaut. And going back to that
- 21:22Speaker 1: Viking though, you know they're gonna be about their left tackle,
- 21:25Speaker 1: Christian Darashaw. We saw how the Cowboys steamrolled that front
- 21:29Speaker 1: last week, and now here you got NFL sack leader
- 21:31Speaker 1: Matthew Judan coming at you. I think the difference is
- 21:35Speaker 1: when the Vikings offense gets down, they just can't manufacture anything.
- 21:38Speaker 1: But the Patriots offense has shown that they can manufacture
- 21:42Speaker 1: offense and win games. Despite Matt Jones not being a
- 21:46Speaker 1: prolific quarterback, as long as he stays out the way,
- 21:49Speaker 1: He's got four touchdown passes seven interceptions this year. It's
- 21:52Speaker 1: almost as if stay out of the way back Jones.
- 21:55Speaker 1: The old tenants they can run the ball, special teams,
- 21:58Speaker 1: the defense dominates, and they've shown they can. The Patriots
- 22:01Speaker 1: have shown they can win games like that. So the
- 22:05Speaker 1: Likings do not wanted to get into that sort of
- 22:07Speaker 1: tight game with the Patriots because the Patriots and Belichick
- 22:11Speaker 1: know how to do that. And mac Jones last week
- 22:14Speaker 1: got lost. They only had three points before the Jones
- 22:16Speaker 1: punt returned touchdown there. So it's not as if they're prolific,
- 22:19Speaker 1: but they know how to win games like that. Andrew, Yeah,
- 22:21Speaker 1: if there's any solace here, and if you want any
- 22:24Speaker 1: history or any trend, three was the lowest that any
- 22:26Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins led team had ever scored the previous low
- 22:29Speaker 1: with Cousins a quarterback in Minnesota and Washington had been
- 22:32Speaker 1: six points. Both of those games were followed by games
- 22:35Speaker 1: in which Cousins helped the team put up twenty eight.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Don't know what that means this week, but Belichick Cousins
- 22:43Speaker 1: in prime time Thanksgiving, everyone passed out from the turkey
- 22:46Speaker 1: with the l trip to sleeping on the floor again.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Sleeping on the floor. That's what I do. I just
- 22:51Speaker 1: fall asleep on the floor. That's what I do. Okay. Anyway,
- 22:55Speaker 1: what Nick Shook does, it's pick underdogs. He's with us
- 22:59Speaker 1: every week day before Thanksgiving. Good to see a Nick
- 23:02Speaker 1: yet again. Two and a half points. That's what DraftKings.
- 23:05Speaker 1: As the Patriots are dogs tomorrow night. What do you
- 23:08Speaker 1: like about the Patriots? I think a lot of what
- 23:11Speaker 1: Mark just talked about, which is the fact that the
- 23:13Speaker 1: Vikings have an issue at left half. I'm not having
- 23:14Speaker 1: Christian darrisaw And also the Patriots have a great defense
- 23:18Speaker 1: and getting after the quarterback. It starts with Matthew Judean
- 23:20Speaker 1: leading the league in sacks with third team, but it
- 23:22Speaker 1: extends beyond that, and it's part of a Patriots defense
- 23:25Speaker 1: is playing excellent football. Overall, not just getting after the quarterback.
- 23:28Speaker 1: They're five and one of the last six games, and
- 23:30Speaker 1: they've allowed to combine twenty three points in their last
- 23:33Speaker 1: three games. They're playing excellent ball, and that's of course
- 23:36Speaker 1: the handiwork of Bill Belichick, who owns a two andeau
- 23:38Speaker 1: record in games against Kirk Cousins. And they haven't played since,
- 23:43Speaker 1: but in those in those games, Kirk Cousins passerading below seventies.
- 23:46Speaker 1: So I think we might get a repeat performance. And
- 23:48Speaker 1: that's why I like the Patriots. It doesn't really matter
- 23:50Speaker 1: about their offense Mack Jones, and then they can just
- 23:52Speaker 1: do just enough to win. This defense should lead them
- 23:54Speaker 1: to victory. All right. The Titans, according to Draft kings Nick,
- 23:57Speaker 1: are one and a half point dogs facing the Bengals.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Correct me if I'm wrong, and I could be wrong.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Where the Titans dogs last week in Green Like what's
- 24:06Speaker 1: the deals here? Yeah? Yeah? And again road teams. I
- 24:10Speaker 1: think the road teams end up playing a big factor
- 24:12Speaker 1: in that. And and we learned that lesson the right
- 24:14Speaker 1: way last week with the Titans, and and I think
- 24:16Speaker 1: they're built to win. There's only one way to win
- 24:18Speaker 1: this game, though I think maybe two, But one clear
- 24:20Speaker 1: path to victory. You've got to dominate time of possession,
- 24:23Speaker 1: you keep the ball out of the Bengals hands, and
- 24:25Speaker 1: you ride Derrick Henry because on paper, statistically this matchup
- 24:28Speaker 1: does not favor them. Tennessee is thirty against the past.
- 24:31Speaker 1: What do we know about the Bengals. They've committed to
- 24:32Speaker 1: the spread offense and throwing the ball all over the
- 24:34Speaker 1: yard since Daddy though sevent against the run. The last
- 24:37Speaker 1: time they faced a premier runner, that was Nick Chubb
- 24:39Speaker 1: and Kareem Hunt. Those two combined for a hundred and
- 24:41Speaker 1: forty three yards on thirty four carriers. We know how
- 24:43Speaker 1: the Browns ran away with that one. So if you
- 24:46Speaker 1: take that approach for the Titans, I think they could
- 24:48Speaker 1: have a similar performance and get after Joe Burrow with
- 24:50Speaker 1: that defense, which is good a getting after quarterbacks. It's
- 24:52Speaker 1: kind of like the same strategy as the last game
- 24:54Speaker 1: we talked about. Keep it on the ground, control the ball,
- 24:56Speaker 1: win the game, all right. The Falcons like to run
- 24:58Speaker 1: the football as well. Nick. They are four point underdogs
- 25:01Speaker 1: to Taylor Heineke and the Commanders. Again, the line according
- 25:05Speaker 1: to DraftKings, Ron Rivera just said Carson Wentz is not
- 25:08Speaker 1: ready to be Sam Howell backing up Taylor Heinriki again.
- 25:12Speaker 1: But you like the Falcons here? Why? Well? Unfortunately for them,
- 25:16Speaker 1: on paper, it doesn't look good because this is a
- 25:18Speaker 1: team that has routinely abandoned the past in favor of
- 25:20Speaker 1: the run and has won games. But the reason I
- 25:22Speaker 1: believe in them is because they've won those games. Arthur
- 25:24Speaker 1: Smith for the second straight season getting the most out
- 25:27Speaker 1: of this talent on this team which on paper does
- 25:29Speaker 1: not look that good, and yet they're five and six.
- 25:32Speaker 1: There's no way they should be. Theoretically, they got close
- 25:34Speaker 1: wins over Cleveland, over Carolina at home, and over Chicago,
- 25:37Speaker 1: that last one being last week. And the reason I
- 25:39Speaker 1: like them in this game is because of how they
- 25:40Speaker 1: won that game last week. Cordell Patterson returns makes an
- 25:43Speaker 1: impact in the return game on the ground, and he's
- 25:46Speaker 1: still a receiving threat. Marcus Mariotta is more than just
- 25:48Speaker 1: a passer. He can make a difference on the ground.
- 25:51Speaker 1: They have to create angles. They can't run traditionally against
- 25:54Speaker 1: this defense. They have to use their speed to their
- 25:55Speaker 1: advantage to win this matchup. But because the way they've
- 25:58Speaker 1: been in these close games this year, I have a
- 25:59Speaker 1: hard time going against them against the Commander's team that
- 26:01Speaker 1: I just don't know what they're gonna produce offensively on
- 26:03Speaker 1: a week to week basis MON Day Night Football Nick,
- 26:06Speaker 1: which seems like weeks away, it's actually only five days
- 26:09Speaker 1: away now four days I can't count. Regardless. Um, it's
- 26:13Speaker 1: the Colts at home as the favorite were in old
- 26:16Speaker 1: school uniforms and the Fighting Kenny Pickets according to draft
- 26:20Speaker 1: Kings or two and a half point underdogs, and you
- 26:22Speaker 1: kind of sort of like the fighting Kenny Pickets. I
- 26:25Speaker 1: like the Fighting Kenny Picketts because they're really the fighting
- 26:27Speaker 1: t J. Watts. Ever since he's returned, they've been rejuvenated
- 26:31Speaker 1: on both sides of the ball, and especially on defense.
- 26:33Speaker 1: A surprisingly opportunistic unit. The Steelers have been recently their
- 26:37Speaker 1: time faith and turnovers this season. A big part of
- 26:39Speaker 1: that is getting after the quarterback, forcing passes into traffic
- 26:42Speaker 1: and catching these tip balls for interceptions. Their offense and
- 26:45Speaker 1: the Fighting Kenny Picketts. They have an off hill battle,
- 26:47Speaker 1: especially against this Colts team, which has a sneaky good defense,
- 26:50Speaker 1: but I see of a low scoring affair and if
- 26:53Speaker 1: there's any team to capitalize on for making mistakes and
- 26:56Speaker 1: turning the ball over. It's Matt Ryan and the Coultster
- 26:58Speaker 1: tied for thirty in turnovers this season. He's back in
- 27:01Speaker 1: the fold. They look a little bit better since Jeff
- 27:02Speaker 1: Saturday took over. I don't really think there's necessarily a correlate.
- 27:05Speaker 1: They're all all you know entirely, But I think the
- 27:07Speaker 1: Steelers can capitalize and uh and take advantage of this
- 27:10Speaker 1: against the corn All right, that game is Bunday and
- 27:11Speaker 1: I that game and all of Nick's analysis on nfl
- 27:14Speaker 1: dot com Slash Underdogs, Happy Thanksgiving, Nick. Tyler Locket, if
- 27:21Speaker 1: it gets anywhere near his hands, he makes the catch.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Now he throws to the end, doog cut down? Stay
- 27:27Speaker 1: hawk to throw? He got a man in the corner,
- 27:30Speaker 1: didn't lock it? Cut down? Stay How Tyler Locker just
- 27:35Speaker 1: ran into the end to the Locker get down to
- 27:37Speaker 1: make a catch. How did Locket make cat catch? Tyler
- 27:41Speaker 1: Locker said, hey, baby, throw me the ball. He did. Yep,
- 27:47Speaker 1: he does, and he catches a lot of them touchdowns
- 27:50Speaker 1: and three consecutive games for this guy coming off of
- 27:52Speaker 1: by the trip to Germany. It's always great to have
- 27:55Speaker 1: Tyler Lockett on the show. Tyler how To How the
- 27:58Speaker 1: bye week treat you. After that long back and forth
- 28:01Speaker 1: to Germany, what a bywe was a little challenge and
- 28:05Speaker 1: for me, man, I ended up getting food poisoning on Tuesday,
- 28:09Speaker 1: so I was Yeah, I was down bad a little bit,
- 28:11Speaker 1: but I was able to recover and uh, just had
- 28:14Speaker 1: a good weekend after that. All right, Well, glad to
- 28:17Speaker 1: hear you're doing well. I'm assuming while you were in
- 28:20Speaker 1: bed battling food poisoning. Um, you probably had a chance
- 28:24Speaker 1: to reflect on the first half of the season. Maybe
- 28:27Speaker 1: what you learned from that game in Germany. As we
- 28:29Speaker 1: sit here and get ready for the push here the
- 28:31Speaker 1: holidays are upon us. You know, what did you learn
- 28:34Speaker 1: about that team in Munich? I think the biggest thing
- 28:39Speaker 1: that I learned is just our resilience to never give up,
- 28:43Speaker 1: our resilience just to be able to keep going. Uh.
- 28:45Speaker 1: You know, Tampa did a great job just being able
- 28:47Speaker 1: to come out, being able to stop us in the
- 28:50Speaker 1: first half. But we adapted and we've shown that even
- 28:53Speaker 1: when things are going great for us, how great we
- 28:55Speaker 1: can be when when things were against us, we showed
- 28:57Speaker 1: that we could be able to fight back. And yeah,
- 28:59Speaker 1: we ended up losing, but that's not a loss that
- 29:02Speaker 1: determines the end of the season. That's just a lesson
- 29:05Speaker 1: we continue to learn and that we continue to develop
- 29:07Speaker 1: and grow from Tyler Bye. Weeks are a time for
- 29:11Speaker 1: a lot of reflection and self scouting. And so much
- 29:13Speaker 1: has been said this year about the great rookie class,
- 29:16Speaker 1: Kenneth Walker and Dreeke Wooland and obviously we can go
- 29:19Speaker 1: on and on about the offensive tackles as well. But
- 29:21Speaker 1: but something has to be said about the veterans here
- 29:24Speaker 1: and you being one of them, k being another, because
- 29:26Speaker 1: there's been this story over the years that you know,
- 29:28Speaker 1: Pete needs a younger team, maybe veterans get sick of
- 29:33Speaker 1: it after a while. Why has this group worked so
- 29:36Speaker 1: well with both rookies and veterans. I think the biggest thing,
- 29:41Speaker 1: man is we just meet each other where we're at
- 29:44Speaker 1: and a lot of us that were veterans now we
- 29:47Speaker 1: learned from there the veterans that came here earlier, and
- 29:50Speaker 1: every single year is something different, is something new. You
- 29:53Speaker 1: can't have that same mindset. So even though I'm going
- 29:55Speaker 1: into year eight, I'm still treating it like this is
- 29:57Speaker 1: my first year. And so you never stopped learning, You
- 30:00Speaker 1: never stopped trying to be great. When you have a
- 30:02Speaker 1: bunch of young guys in here. I'm me being thirty
- 30:04Speaker 1: year years old, it makes you feel young again. You
- 30:07Speaker 1: see a lot of people that had that heart, they
- 30:09Speaker 1: have that desire, they had that grit to want to
- 30:11Speaker 1: be able to be better. You talk about our ricky
- 30:14Speaker 1: class man, they literally put their head down and work.
- 30:16Speaker 1: They rarely talk. They show up, they play, and you
- 30:20Speaker 1: wouldn't even think they were rookies if you came here
- 30:21Speaker 1: and watch the meeting every week. And so that's something
- 30:24Speaker 1: that just keeps us going, especially as vets. I love
- 30:27Speaker 1: that the rookies barely talk. I'm sure you guys love that.
- 30:31Speaker 1: I was struck a couple of weeks ago as well.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Can we throw it up on the screen here, Jeff, Um,
- 30:35Speaker 1: you and d K on the podium together. And I
- 30:37Speaker 1: don't care what was misrepresented that day and maybe what
- 30:40Speaker 1: you said, but the fact that you and d K
- 30:43Speaker 1: were on the podium together, that to me kind of
- 30:48Speaker 1: spoke to to the story of this season. Yeah. I mean,
- 30:54Speaker 1: first off, you know, thankful for our our team that
- 30:58Speaker 1: allows us to even get up there and be able
- 30:59Speaker 1: to talk. But it's really like a brotherhood man, and
- 31:02Speaker 1: just having an opportunity to go up there with DK.
- 31:05Speaker 1: It's funny because you know, we feed off of each other.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Even when Gino went up there, It's like you never
- 31:10Speaker 1: really know. You hear a lot of fans and a
- 31:12Speaker 1: lot of people said that they enjoyed us being able
- 31:14Speaker 1: to do that, and I mean we've seen the NBA
- 31:16Speaker 1: be able to do that, and so just being able
- 31:18Speaker 1: to have a chance to go up there and talk,
- 31:20Speaker 1: I mean it was kind of fun. It was something
- 31:22Speaker 1: that was different and you know, hopefully we'll be able
- 31:25Speaker 1: to do it again. Yeah, good good, NBA thought there.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I hadn't really you know, drawn the comparison. Usually in
- 31:31Speaker 1: the NFL's one guy at the time. You guys got
- 31:33Speaker 1: out there and did it together. Curious, um, Tyler, your
- 31:36Speaker 1: thoughts when seemingly the entire world is now ready to
- 31:41Speaker 1: crown the forty Niners. You know, they got your Week
- 31:44Speaker 1: two and then you get them again in December. Oh yeah, Well,
- 31:48Speaker 1: I mean we know that the forty Niners are a
- 31:50Speaker 1: great team. Um, they got a lot of great additions
- 31:53Speaker 1: on their team, and so they're out there playing great
- 31:55Speaker 1: as a team. They're playing phenomenal right now. But I
- 31:58Speaker 1: mean for us, I mean, we're exactly where we want
- 32:00Speaker 1: to be at. We understand that each and every game
- 32:03Speaker 1: is detrimental to what's gonna happen for the rest of
- 32:05Speaker 1: the season, and so it's not just one team that
- 32:08Speaker 1: you got to look out for, like we got to
- 32:09Speaker 1: look out for the Raiders going into this week, and
- 32:11Speaker 1: so we're just going to continue to do our part.
- 32:14Speaker 1: We understand the schedule that we have ahead of us,
- 32:16Speaker 1: but we also understand that what we can be able
- 32:19Speaker 1: to accomplish as a team, we've proved it the first half,
- 32:22Speaker 1: and so this next half is just being able to
- 32:24Speaker 1: continue to play free. And of course we asked that
- 32:27Speaker 1: question without disrespecting the Raiders or the Rams or the Panthers,
- 32:30Speaker 1: that you have the next three weeks before you get
- 32:33Speaker 1: that week fifteen rematch, it will be in your building,
- 32:35Speaker 1: this time against the forty n This Tyler cool next
- 32:39Speaker 1: Gen stat that Adrian and Research pulled out of here
- 32:43Speaker 1: that since twenty eighteen, no one's catching more deep balls,
- 32:46Speaker 1: no one's been more successful stretching the field than you,
- 32:51Speaker 1: Tyler Lockett. As we get ready for Thanksgiving, Tyler, when
- 32:55Speaker 1: you guys did a Turkey Bowl as kids your Your
- 32:57Speaker 1: dad is a great wide receiver, your brother Aaron was
- 33:01Speaker 1: a great wide receiver. Your little brother Sterling pretty good too.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Did you only go deep at the Turkey Bowl? Tyler? No,
- 33:08Speaker 1: I didn't always go deep. But you know, the one
- 33:11Speaker 1: thing that I will say is that I've learned, you know,
- 33:13Speaker 1: not to be one dimensional. Uh, learned how to open
- 33:16Speaker 1: up just different parts of my game. Learning how to
- 33:19Speaker 1: be a possession receiver, um whether the team needs me
- 33:22Speaker 1: to scramble, being able to do that. Learning how to
- 33:25Speaker 1: be an all around football player. And so that's something
- 33:27Speaker 1: that's also helped me throughout my time in my career.
- 33:30Speaker 1: And when you talk about things giving, it's not just
- 33:32Speaker 1: being able to eat one one thing is being able
- 33:35Speaker 1: to eat the whole entire meal. That's That's a great
- 33:38Speaker 1: segue to what was going to be Tyler my final question.
- 33:42Speaker 1: You retweeted yesterday a video that the Seahawks had done
- 33:46Speaker 1: with a bunch of your teammates saying what their favorite
- 33:48Speaker 1: Thanksgiving food was. But Tyler, you're not included in that
- 33:52Speaker 1: video and you didn't mention it with your retweet. So,
- 33:56Speaker 1: Tyler Lockett, obviously we have to ask what is your
- 33:59Speaker 1: favorite Thanksgiving food. I'd probably say the green being casserole.
- 34:05Speaker 1: I was not gonna guess that. So the green being
- 34:08Speaker 1: cast role with like the French onion soup, the can
- 34:10Speaker 1: stuff that they pour in that that green big casserole.
- 34:14Speaker 1: How about you come to the house and see. I
- 34:16Speaker 1: don't doubt that you guys make it well. I think
- 34:19Speaker 1: that's not what I was trying to suggest. Most people
- 34:21Speaker 1: say mac and cheese or turkey or something like that
- 34:23Speaker 1: green bean casserole. That's an upset. I will add in
- 34:27Speaker 1: the yams though. The Yams are pretty amazing. Big fan
- 34:30Speaker 1: of the Yams and Mike Yambs as well. My NFL
- 34:33Speaker 1: network Collie Tyler Lockett, congratulations on the great star, good
- 34:37Speaker 1: luck the second half of the season, and happy Thanksgiving
- 34:39Speaker 1: to you in the family. Thank you as well, man,
- 34:41Speaker 1: Thank you. NFL Now is a production of the NFL
