- 0:00Speaker 1: And now move the sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:07Speaker 1: What's up, everybody? Welcome to move the sticks, DJ and
- 0:10Speaker 1: Rhett with you. Bucky is traveling back from London. Long
- 0:14Speaker 1: long couple weeks there for Buck, going back and forth
- 0:17Speaker 1: with the Jags being over there in London. But rhtt,
- 0:19Speaker 1: it's great to see your face. And I can't help
- 0:21Speaker 1: but notice, as an Indiana Hoosier you're still smiling.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It's hard not to be. Buddy Hoo's yours are a
- 0:27Speaker 2: wagon rocket and rolling coach. Signetti's rot got him going,
- 0:30Speaker 2: I mean, just absolutely dominated Nebraska in Bloomington this week.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Game Day's coming to Bloomington this week. My Big ten
- 0:38Speaker 2: network crew is going to be on the call for
- 0:39Speaker 2: the game. A lot of fun, a lot of fun
- 0:42Speaker 2: with this one and enjoying it, enjoying it probably a
- 0:45Speaker 2: lot more than Bucky has been enjoying his back and
- 0:48Speaker 2: forth to and from London. But like his trips, the
- 0:52Speaker 2: NFL's London trips are over as well, and now we'll
- 0:55Speaker 2: push forward to Munich here in a couple of weeks.
- 0:57Speaker 2: And then we had some good ones back stateside here
- 1:00Speaker 2: this week as well.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what we're gonna We're gona jump into those games.
- 1:03Speaker 1: We'll get to that Jags game. Drake May showing some
- 1:06Speaker 1: good things there in Jacksonville, getting much needed to win.
- 1:08Speaker 1: But let's start with these big three games here, starting
- 1:11Speaker 1: with Detroit in Minnesota. Man, what a what a great game.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I got to see a lot of this. This is
- 1:17Speaker 1: the beauty of having a Monday night Charger game. I'm
- 1:19Speaker 1: here in Arizona, but got a chance to watch just
- 1:22Speaker 1: watch Sunday games, which was fantastic, and that was arguably
- 1:26Speaker 1: the game of the day. And I'll give you the
- 1:28Speaker 1: floor on this one first rat before I get to
- 1:31Speaker 1: what I want to talk about, because I know you
- 1:33Speaker 1: were struck by just how dang similar these two teams were.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's uncanny when you look at it,
- 1:41Speaker 2: like in so many different categories, right, I mean, like
- 1:44Speaker 2: total amount of plays run, we're within four of each other.
- 1:47Speaker 2: First downs, we're within two of each other.
- 1:50Speaker 3: I mean, like the.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Average yards per play they were gaining. They were making
- 1:54Speaker 2: similar gains like on every play on average for the
- 1:57Speaker 2: most part. I mean, they threw and ran the ball
- 1:59Speaker 2: with similar balance as well. The explosive plays were even
- 2:04Speaker 2: very similar. So I felt like in a game like this, DJ,
- 2:06Speaker 2: you really had to like kind of go into the
- 2:07Speaker 2: margins a little bit, right and try to find, you know,
- 2:10Speaker 2: some of those hidden yards, some of those hidden things
- 2:12Speaker 2: that can you know, allow somebody to gain extra yards.
- 2:14Speaker 2: And Jamier Gibbs, who you're seeing on your screen right here,
- 2:17Speaker 2: was a big piece of those hidden yards. Because I mean, obviously,
- 2:21Speaker 2: you know, like his speed, his explosiveness, he's always capable,
- 2:25Speaker 2: you know, to break one, but he makes guys miss
- 2:28Speaker 2: so often. In fact, made eight guys miss in this game.
- 2:33Speaker 2: You want to talk about turning a six yard game
- 2:35Speaker 2: into sixteen. The play he made on the forty five
- 2:38Speaker 2: yard touchdown run on the safety, my goodness, at full
- 2:42Speaker 2: speed right DJ, and did not lose speed at all
- 2:45Speaker 2: coming in and out of that break and that juke
- 2:47Speaker 2: that he made. He led all runners with the football
- 2:52Speaker 2: enforced miss tackles this week according to PFF, with eight.
- 2:55Speaker 3: So, I mean, he's such a big piece of that offense.
- 2:58Speaker 2: And when you have that kind of fire and ice
- 3:00Speaker 2: right with you know, David Montgomery providing that physical element
- 3:03Speaker 2: and then Gibbs just able to juke you out of
- 3:05Speaker 2: your socks and go the distance at any point. They
- 3:08Speaker 2: have so many answers to beat you on offense. It's
- 3:11Speaker 2: fun to watch and.
- 3:13Speaker 1: No question and you know, look it was. It was
- 3:15Speaker 1: interesting to see what they were going to do with
- 3:17Speaker 1: Aiden Hudginson not being there. Looked like they tried to
- 3:19Speaker 1: they try to send more bodies and use kind of
- 3:21Speaker 1: a win by numbers approach. I thought Minnesota for the
- 3:24Speaker 1: most part, did a good job of holding up protection wise,
- 3:27Speaker 1: made some big plays. I know there's a couple of
- 3:29Speaker 1: throws that Sam would like to have back more than
- 3:31Speaker 1: anything else. On the Viking side of things, they've got
- 3:33Speaker 1: to get rid of these pre snap penalties. Man just
- 3:35Speaker 1: shooting themselves in the foot with just misalignments more than
- 3:39Speaker 1: anything else. That's that's easily correctable. They are going to
- 3:43Speaker 1: have times where as aggressive as they are defensively, when
- 3:47Speaker 1: other teams have a quarterback receiver combination that are in
- 3:49Speaker 1: sync and in rhythm. I saw it against this defense
- 3:53Speaker 1: last year with Herbert and Keenan Allen whe Keenan caught
- 3:55Speaker 1: a bazillion balls and it was aman Ross Saint Brown
- 3:58Speaker 1: with Jared goffin this one. When they can pick you
- 4:00Speaker 1: up when you send that those zero looks you've got
- 4:03Speaker 1: one guy that can win. It's got to be something
- 4:05Speaker 1: that you're on the same page as the quarterback. And
- 4:07Speaker 1: that's what they had there with Detroit. And I know
- 4:09Speaker 1: this is gonna be the main talking point coming out
- 4:11Speaker 1: of this game. Jared Goff is you know he should
- 4:15Speaker 1: be at the fore front of the MVP discussion. I
- 4:17Speaker 1: don't know that there's a quarterback who looks like he's
- 4:20Speaker 1: more calm and poised and just I would say just
- 4:25Speaker 1: locked in. I mean, he is in a comfort zone
- 4:28Speaker 1: in this offense, even more so than when he was
- 4:31Speaker 1: at his zenith with McVeigh and the Rams zenith.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I love it. Great pull on that one.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, look, the guy goes, you know, perfect
- 4:39Speaker 2: in the first half, right, twelve to twelve, ends up
- 4:41Speaker 2: with that what was it eighty eight completion percentage? By
- 4:44Speaker 2: the way, on the flip side, Sam Darnold eighty one percentage?
- 4:46Speaker 3: Really good in this game. They were both I.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Mean outside of the turnover for Sam, I mean really
- 4:51Speaker 2: really good stuff. There two more things on that front.
- 4:55Speaker 2: On defense, you mentioned how are they going to replace
- 4:57Speaker 2: Aiden Hutchinson. We talked about that a little bit you
- 5:00Speaker 2: and I last week, Right and some of the guys
- 5:02Speaker 2: that you know, kind of filled in in that last
- 5:05Speaker 2: game that Hutchinson got hurt, and I thought it was
- 5:08Speaker 2: those guys that.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Kind of showed up in a big way. Josh Pascal
- 5:11Speaker 3: had a sack in this game.
- 5:12Speaker 2: And then the guy who literally ended the game was
- 5:16Speaker 2: one of the guys who received more reps out on
- 5:18Speaker 2: the edge when hutch got hurt. It was Trevor Lawawski, right,
- 5:20Speaker 2: the guy who kind of listed as a linebacker. They
- 5:22Speaker 2: push him out to the edge and he has that
- 5:24Speaker 2: last sack on Sam Darnold. So you know, maybe it's
- 5:27Speaker 2: not sustainable to kind of go by committee and try
- 5:31Speaker 2: to get that kind of production, you know, all year long.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Right now, Dan Campbell's got that group rolling.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Yeah. Both these teams though five and one, looking forward
- 5:39Speaker 1: to seeing they're going to see each other in the postseason. Man,
- 5:42Speaker 1: this is these are two of the better teams in
- 5:43Speaker 1: the NFC. I think that was that was playing to
- 5:46Speaker 1: see there. Let's get to the next game here, another
- 5:48Speaker 1: one with two teams that are going to be playoff teams,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and that's Houston Green Bay. All start us off here
- 5:53Speaker 1: on the green Bay side of things. Defensively, what they
- 5:57Speaker 1: did to c J. Stroud. I mean, there was just
- 6:00Speaker 1: it was suffocating what they did. And it was not
- 6:02Speaker 1: only with the back end, but I watched all their pressures,
- 6:04Speaker 1: watch what they were doing up front. Got a lot
- 6:07Speaker 1: of athletes up there. Rareshan Gary can win right now.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I was excited to see how they're using Edgeran Cooper,
- 6:14Speaker 1: who can play some on the edge, can play off
- 6:16Speaker 1: the ball. He's another one who's got legit like low
- 6:18Speaker 1: four to five speed. They can win with penetration inside.
- 6:22Speaker 1: They time up blitz as well. They were excellent in
- 6:27Speaker 1: this game up front against a Houston offense that they
- 6:30Speaker 1: couldn't get rolling. Man, they just had nothing going in
- 6:33Speaker 1: the past game. And is you know, I know you
- 6:36Speaker 1: peaked at the coverage a little bit there, Rett, but
- 6:39Speaker 1: I was impressed what I saw with their defensive front,
- 6:42Speaker 1: just how athletic they were.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I think it goes hand in hand, right, We talk
- 6:46Speaker 2: about that all the time, that connection, and I think
- 6:48Speaker 2: that coverage certainly benefited from having CJ.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Stroud under duress.
- 6:51Speaker 2: A bunch felt like they kind of took advantage of
- 6:53Speaker 2: Juice Scrugs at center and Kenyon Green at left guard.
- 6:56Speaker 2: You know, quite a bit there to kind of crumble
- 6:58Speaker 2: that pocket on CJ. A number of times here where
- 7:01Speaker 2: like you know, I'm sure he had he had seen
- 7:03Speaker 2: something he liked. And there are a couple of plays
- 7:06Speaker 2: and I really looked at Tank Dell. It didn't have
- 7:07Speaker 2: a catching this game to see what was going on
- 7:09Speaker 2: there were Tank kind.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Of got open.
- 7:11Speaker 2: But even before CJ could could start to think about
- 7:13Speaker 2: pulling the trigger, that way, he was getting flushed out
- 7:16Speaker 2: of the pocket or he was getting pressure, and so
- 7:18Speaker 2: that just made things so much more difficult. I mean,
- 7:21Speaker 2: how many times this is probably the only time in CJ.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Stroud's career that he did not have a single receiver
- 7:26Speaker 2: over thirty yards receiving in a game. That's what happens
- 7:29Speaker 2: when you throw for less than one hundred, I suppose.
- 7:32Speaker 2: But yeah, so as far as Tank Dell went, you know,
- 7:35Speaker 2: it didn't allow you know, his first target should have
- 7:39Speaker 2: been a touchdown catch. Actually dropped one on a scramble drill.
- 7:42Speaker 2: It was a hard one, but one that we've seen
- 7:44Speaker 2: him make. And I thought that Jeff Haffley, you know,
- 7:46Speaker 2: has done a really good job there as the defensive
- 7:48Speaker 2: coordinator in Green Bay. You talk about the pressure that
- 7:50Speaker 2: he kind of game planet schemes and generated I thought
- 7:53Speaker 2: on the back end, they mixed things up a ton.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I mean they were kind of half and half with
- 7:56Speaker 2: single high and two deep safety looks, and a lot
- 7:58Speaker 2: of times on those on those two deep safety looks
- 8:00Speaker 2: that one safety would would just kind of immediately you know,
- 8:03Speaker 2: drop you know, another ten yards just to kind of
- 8:06Speaker 2: keep a lid on, you know, Tank and Stefan Diggs
- 8:09Speaker 2: from kind of getting behind everybody and you know, limiting
- 8:12Speaker 2: those explosive plays up. He did a really good job
- 8:15Speaker 2: on that front. So that was that was a defensive
- 8:19Speaker 2: clinic right there on one of the best offensive teams
- 8:21Speaker 2: in football.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Man, uh, you know, look offensively Green Bay. You know,
- 8:26Speaker 1: Jordan Love has been he's he's kind of been running
- 8:28Speaker 1: up numbers on both sides of the scoreboard. Man, he's
- 8:31Speaker 1: been making big plays. He's collecting touchdowns. You see it
- 8:34Speaker 1: on the screen there two plus pass tds eleven consecutive games,
- 8:37Speaker 1: which is the longest active streak including the playoffs. So
- 8:40Speaker 1: he's been running up you know, big plays points. But man,
- 8:43Speaker 1: he's got to do a better job protecting the football
- 8:45Speaker 1: as you start getting to these big games and get
- 8:48Speaker 1: into the postseason. He's got to be a little more
- 8:50Speaker 1: cautious there. Really the only the only negative on the
- 8:53Speaker 1: on the Green Bay side of things. Anything you want
- 8:55Speaker 1: to add there before we jump over to the next game.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I'm glad you brought that up.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Is just the interception numbers way too high for a
- 9:01Speaker 2: guy that has missed two games already this year.
- 9:04Speaker 3: So if they limit that, I mean, my goodness.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I mean he's already you know, he's already breaking Aaron
- 9:09Speaker 2: Rodgers records for touchdowns consecutively in games going back to
- 9:12Speaker 2: last year. So I'm pretty dang impressive so far. If
- 9:15Speaker 2: they can keep limiting those turnovers.
- 9:17Speaker 1: All right, let's get to Casey San Francisco, maybe the
- 9:19Speaker 1: most anticipated games because of the Super Bowl connection there.
- 9:23Speaker 1: This is my takeaway and then I'll get your thoughts
- 9:25Speaker 1: and we'll go from there. But when we've talked about
- 9:30Speaker 1: defensive dominant teams that have an offense that gives you
- 9:33Speaker 1: just enough, I think back over like the last decade.
- 9:36Speaker 1: I think of the Baltimore Ravens. That'd be how they've
- 9:39Speaker 1: been described. I think of the Pittsburgh Steelers that's been
- 9:42Speaker 1: used to describe them. I think the Tennessee Titans when
- 9:44Speaker 1: they're you know, their playoff runs that they've had, dominant defense,
- 9:49Speaker 1: you know, can run the ball a little bit, just
- 9:50Speaker 1: timely plays offensively. Is it time that we just start
- 9:54Speaker 1: calling the Chiefs what they are? This is a defensive
- 9:56Speaker 1: football team that's carrying them. I mean, that's dominating on
- 10:01Speaker 1: the defensive side of the ball with an offense that's
- 10:04Speaker 1: just kind of gives you enough and a quarterback who
- 10:07Speaker 1: is still at those key clutch moments can make you know,
- 10:11Speaker 1: those two three plays you got to make, which Mahomes
- 10:13Speaker 1: does it? Just is this, this is the formula of
- 10:15Speaker 1: those defensive dominant teams like this is who the Chiefs
- 10:18Speaker 1: are at this point in time.
- 10:21Speaker 2: And hold on before before I dig into to what
- 10:23Speaker 2: I was looking at here, I mean, what does you
- 10:24Speaker 2: think of those two runs from Mahomes, like the touchdown run, Right,
- 10:28Speaker 2: I've seen it, I've.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Seen I've seen this. I've seen this in games against
- 10:32Speaker 1: the Chargers in the past. It's it's here's the thing,
- 10:36Speaker 1: because my first thought is, well, somebody's gonna drill him
- 10:40Speaker 1: on the sideline because he's done this several times now
- 10:43Speaker 1: where he kind of you know, he's kind of faking
- 10:45Speaker 1: like he's going to go out of balance, and defenders
- 10:47Speaker 1: know they're not. They're not even worried about the penalty, right,
- 10:50Speaker 1: They're worried about the dang fine it's going to be
- 10:52Speaker 1: coming out, you know for that, And so you get
- 10:56Speaker 1: mad and say, okay, well, eventually he's going to get
- 10:57Speaker 1: his block knocked off. And then I'm like, I don't
- 10:59Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm a defensive player, if I'm
- 11:02Speaker 1: gonna get fifteen yards and I'm going to get an
- 11:04Speaker 1: envelope in my locker, I don't know. I don't like it.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I think it's it's kind of poor form. But that's
- 11:13Speaker 1: where the rules are, and he's definitely taken advantage of
- 11:16Speaker 1: it with those type rope moves.
- 11:18Speaker 3: You want a little you want a little saucy nug
- 11:20Speaker 3: on Mahome.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, give me. What do we've got here?
- 11:23Speaker 3: And I've got this one here for you.
- 11:24Speaker 2: And this comes courtesy of our buddy Tony in research
- 11:28Speaker 2: last night when I was on game day final, Flip
- 11:30Speaker 2: this one to me. Patrick Mahomes had the lowest passer
- 11:33Speaker 2: rating of his career in Week seven, forty four point four,
- 11:38Speaker 2: and the Chiefs beat the defending NFC champions by double
- 11:42Speaker 2: digits on the road. Yeah, if that doesn't say something
- 11:45Speaker 2: about the defense you're talking about, I don't know what does.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Right there.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Just incredible and like it does kind of bring back
- 11:54Speaker 2: some visions of eight Manning in twenty fifteen, right, I
- 11:57Speaker 2: mean not that not that Mahomes is super limited, like
- 12:00Speaker 2: like man he.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Was still off, wasn't at that time.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're talking about defense carrying you at this point,
- 12:07Speaker 2: you know, to some of these incredible wins.
- 12:09Speaker 3: It's it's, uh, it does kind of feel a little
- 12:12Speaker 3: bit like that.
- 12:13Speaker 2: But I did also look at Perty's interceptions. I know
- 12:15Speaker 2: you did as well. We could probably collaborate on this
- 12:17Speaker 2: here a little bit. I thought that first one he
- 12:20Speaker 2: was getting a little bit of pressure, but he didn't
- 12:22Speaker 2: see that saying that deep safety man, that deep safety
- 12:26Speaker 2: saw him from the jump.
- 12:27Speaker 3: I mean it was that great.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it was justin Reid had that thing rolling like
- 12:31Speaker 2: he was watching Perty's eyes from from the get go.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Obviously you want that one back. Number two. This one
- 12:37Speaker 3: was kind of interesting. You watch this one.
- 12:39Speaker 2: This so Ronnie Bell right here. I couldn't figure out
- 12:42Speaker 2: whether he thought Ronnie was going deeper or not because
- 12:45Speaker 2: that was way overthrown, right, I mean I was like
- 12:47Speaker 2: five yards overthrown.
- 12:49Speaker 3: And you know, when you kind of look.
- 12:50Speaker 2: At it, Bell is kind is running kind of like
- 12:53Speaker 2: an angle out route right, and he gets contact, but
- 12:56Speaker 2: then pushes up even further through the contact, knowing he's
- 12:59Speaker 2: got to get a little bit deeper go past the
- 13:02Speaker 2: sticks to get the first down, and it's still overthrown
- 13:06Speaker 2: by five yards.
- 13:06Speaker 3: I don't know if that was just bad throw or what.
- 13:08Speaker 2: And then obviously the third one you just got to
- 13:10Speaker 2: you got to eat it and take the points down
- 13:11Speaker 2: by the goal line.
- 13:12Speaker 3: You can't give it up. Done.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, got hit the other number. I looked up
- 13:16Speaker 1: with this stat or this stat from this game in
- 13:19Speaker 1: this season. I was curious because it just looks like
- 13:21Speaker 1: San Francisco's in the gun with a lot more pure
- 13:24Speaker 1: drop back than just play action. If you just look
- 13:27Speaker 1: at the play action numbers, it is about three percent
- 13:29Speaker 1: down from what it was last year. So I think
- 13:31Speaker 1: last year maybe they were twenty three percent, I believe
- 13:35Speaker 1: somewhere around there in play action. This year it's about
- 13:37Speaker 1: twenty percent of play action. So it's different. It's definitely less.
- 13:42Speaker 1: It wasn't as demonstrative as maybe I thought it would
- 13:44Speaker 1: have been. But it just looks different when you watch them,
- 13:47Speaker 1: you know, versus the nightmare of them being under center
- 13:49Speaker 1: and having to deal with everything off that that with
- 13:52Speaker 1: that offense with Boots and Crossers and really what Kyle
- 13:56Speaker 1: Shanahan's done for forever, it's a different it's a different
- 14:00Speaker 1: formula he's using.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and look, it's a different situation now, clearly, And
- 14:06Speaker 2: it just feels like when there's no debo, which there
- 14:10Speaker 2: really wasn't in this game as he had the illness,
- 14:12Speaker 2: and then braindon I goes down with what they fear
- 14:15Speaker 2: as an ACL so likely ending his season if that
- 14:18Speaker 2: you know that that ends up being confirmed, and then
- 14:20Speaker 2: with McCaffrey out, it's just like it's hard to kind
- 14:24Speaker 2: of find that magic when you have three elite players
- 14:28Speaker 2: out of the ballgame at the skill positions, Like can
- 14:30Speaker 2: you say, is it truly just plug and play at
- 14:32Speaker 2: that point or are you trying to facilitate different ways
- 14:36Speaker 2: to attack like you're talking about their DJ just can't
- 14:38Speaker 2: do it the way you've been accustomed to when you
- 14:41Speaker 2: have those type of players out, especially with McCaffrey out
- 14:45Speaker 2: for as long as he's been out.
- 14:48Speaker 3: They're like the anti Lions.
- 14:49Speaker 2: I said this on Game Day Final last night, where
- 14:51Speaker 2: the Lions could beat you anyway they want at this point,
- 14:53Speaker 2: like the forty nine ers are just running out of answers.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's it's true. It doesn't. It's just literally
- 15:00Speaker 1: it's just a shell of what they've been in terms
- 15:04Speaker 1: of all the guys they have out there. So I
- 15:05Speaker 1: guess it's probably on us to lower expectations. But you
- 15:08Speaker 1: do look at the schedule. Man, They've got some work
- 15:12Speaker 1: to do. They are three and four, and they're gonna
- 15:15Speaker 1: have to fight, you know, not to win the division
- 15:17Speaker 1: or to be a number one seed. They're gonna have
- 15:19Speaker 1: to fight to get into the tournament with the way
- 15:21Speaker 1: this thing's shaken up right now. So I managed to
- 15:23Speaker 1: see what happens there in San Francisco. Let's sneak another
- 15:25Speaker 1: game in here before we take a little break. Philly
- 15:28Speaker 1: and the Giants. This was a let me give you
- 15:31Speaker 1: a little bonus saucy nug here because this one caught
- 15:35Speaker 1: my saucy nug. Yeah, we're gonna go double a little.
- 15:37Speaker 1: We'll double up here on the saucy nug. Saquon Barkley
- 15:40Speaker 1: seven hundred and sixty one scrimmage yards this season, the
- 15:43Speaker 1: most by a player in his first six games with
- 15:45Speaker 1: a team since drum roll. Saquon Barkley's first six games
- 15:50Speaker 1: with the Giants is a rookie in twenty eighteen, we
- 15:52Speaker 1: had eight hundred and eleven scrimmage yards. Long story short,
- 15:54Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley's very good. He has been an excellent signing
- 15:58Speaker 1: there for the Philadelphia Eagles, and man, it's it's it's
- 16:03Speaker 1: hard to look at it from the giant side of
- 16:05Speaker 1: things and say how this benefited them deciding to turn
- 16:11Speaker 1: the page. And really, when you look at the money,
- 16:13Speaker 1: it wasn't crazy money that.
- 16:14Speaker 2: He got from the Philadelphia Eagles, No, I mean it
- 16:17Speaker 2: ended up being you know what was it like essentially
- 16:19Speaker 2: a million or two average annual value to what they
- 16:22Speaker 2: were talking about. I know that's not the whole way
- 16:25Speaker 2: to cut the you know, the pie up on that,
- 16:27Speaker 2: but yeah, I mean, it's it's tough, and in a
- 16:29Speaker 2: game like this, it was even harder. I mean watching
- 16:32Speaker 2: him go for one hundred and seventy six yards on
- 16:34Speaker 2: an eighty seven total yards. So another bonus, Saucy nug
- 16:37Speaker 2: Care for you. I mean, Saquan now in the last
- 16:40Speaker 2: ten years has the most rushing yards against the Giants
- 16:45Speaker 2: and the most rushing yards for the Giants over a time.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Nice.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I mean, it's just I can't imagine the feeling you
- 16:54Speaker 2: know that John Mahra had just sitting there watching Barkley
- 16:57Speaker 2: run up and down. Know, Look, they got more problems
- 17:00Speaker 2: than that the Giants do right on offense there.
- 17:03Speaker 3: I don't know what to make of what's going on
- 17:05Speaker 3: over there, you know.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I mean, like Andrew Thomas going down for the season
- 17:08Speaker 2: is about you know, the strate that's.
- 17:11Speaker 1: A tough one. That's a tough one. With the zudat
- 17:13Speaker 1: left tackle right now, it's.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Tough, h and and I mean that's that's kind of
- 17:17Speaker 2: been an unfortunate piece of Andrew Thomas's career arc right.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I mean, he he was he struggled early in his
- 17:22Speaker 2: career and then you know, kind of quickly established himself
- 17:25Speaker 2: as one of the better tackles in football. And now
- 17:27Speaker 2: he's got these injuries that you're dealing with, and Daniel
- 17:30Speaker 2: Jones gets pulled from the game, Drew Locke comes in.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Where do you go from here? What do you do now?
- 17:34Speaker 2: Malik neighbors minimal impact in the game, Beach, I don't, man,
- 17:39Speaker 2: it's getting late early there in New York.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Yeah. The only other thing that I will add is
- 17:43Speaker 1: that if you've looked at the Philadelphia Eagles over the
- 17:46Speaker 1: last several years, they're at their best when they are
- 17:51Speaker 1: led by their pass rush and a little bit of
- 17:54Speaker 1: a slow start at the sacks in this game five
- 17:57Speaker 1: sacks last week. They found their footing a little it
- 18:00Speaker 1: here along that front and seeing a lot of different
- 18:02Speaker 1: guys win. You Jalen Carter inside that's getting two sacks,
- 18:06Speaker 1: Na Kobe Dean, I'm gonna dust off that scouting report
- 18:09Speaker 1: here later in the Yeah, we can dig into him.
- 18:11Speaker 1: He had two sacks. So we're seeing those those Georgia
- 18:15Speaker 1: Bulldogs there with the Eagles starting to play good football.
- 18:19Speaker 1: And also Nolan Smith get won for the second week
- 18:21Speaker 1: in a row off the edge, who's been very disruptive.
- 18:25Speaker 1: He's he's coming into his own a little bit there too.
- 18:27Speaker 1: So that's when the Eagles are who they are. And
- 18:30Speaker 1: I think in the back end too, you've got those
- 18:32Speaker 1: two rookies Cooper Dejean's playing well, Quinya and Mitchell's playing well.
- 18:36Speaker 1: So they're starting to see after kind of a frustrating
- 18:39Speaker 1: start to the year. You look up there four and two,
- 18:43Speaker 1: it's gonna be an interesting race there in that division.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Washington playing the way they're playing, Uh, you know, the
- 18:47Speaker 1: Cowboys being the mystery team that they are, it's gonna
- 18:50Speaker 1: be too interesting ride there. Anything else you want to
- 18:53Speaker 1: add before we take a quick little pause.
- 18:55Speaker 3: No, I think that that about does it on that one.
- 18:58Speaker 2: But I do say I do feel like, you know,
- 19:00Speaker 2: when the Eagles are struggling earlier in the year, I
- 19:02Speaker 2: mean you point to aj Brown being gone for about
- 19:05Speaker 2: a month's worth of time, and now he's had back
- 19:07Speaker 2: to back games with a forty plus yard touchdown reception.
- 19:09Speaker 2: That element, with Saquon Barkley's presence in the ground game
- 19:13Speaker 2: like that feels like the Eagles are back right again,
- 19:17Speaker 2: or at least trending in the right direction.
- 19:24Speaker 1: And the Pittsburgh Steelers had an enjoyable cruise. I would
- 19:27Speaker 1: say it was a party cruise last night. After they
- 19:31Speaker 1: took care of the New York Jets. All the talk,
- 19:34Speaker 1: all of the conversation is Davante Adams and he's going
- 19:38Speaker 1: to fix everything that's wrong with the New York Jets.
- 19:40Speaker 1: They score fifteen points. That does not happen. We'll get
- 19:44Speaker 1: to the Jet side of things here in a minute,
- 19:46Speaker 1: but let's start first of all, Russell Wilson. That was
- 19:49Speaker 1: not a popular decision, maybe nationally, maybe even locally as well.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I'll get into my thoughts on it and a second here, Rett,
- 19:57Speaker 1: but just your thoughts on the on the decision that
- 20:01Speaker 1: was made to go to Russell Wilson and what we
- 20:02Speaker 1: saw on his first crack ad with the Steelers.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I was watching that one with Maurice Jones Drew as
- 20:07Speaker 2: we were getting ready for Game Day Final on NFL Network,
- 20:10Speaker 2: and you know, it wasn't like the prettiest the games
- 20:15Speaker 2: in the first half for the Steelers offense, Like there
- 20:17Speaker 2: were some throws who you're like, is.
- 20:19Speaker 3: That that much better than justin fields?
- 20:21Speaker 2: But then, boy, I felt like in the second half
- 20:24Speaker 2: they really found a rhythm there, and I think it
- 20:26Speaker 2: started when Russ started giving George Pickens a shot to
- 20:29Speaker 2: go make plays down the field up in the air.
- 20:32Speaker 3: I mean this one was.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Pretty fortuitous here, it's off the defenders arm and he
- 20:37Speaker 2: ends up going to grab it, makes plays for him.
- 20:39Speaker 2: But I mean, like getting pickings engaged like that is
- 20:42Speaker 2: one of the reasons you turned to Russell Wilson. They
- 20:44Speaker 2: were talking about that in the broadcast too. We looked
- 20:46Speaker 2: at that throw and catch by Pat Fryer Muth down there.
- 20:49Speaker 2: I mean, guys were making big plays again for the Steelers,
- 20:52Speaker 2: some in the past game that we just like you
- 20:54Speaker 2: hadn't seen. And then you know what they did. I
- 20:56Speaker 2: felt like it was critical into the third quarter, into
- 20:59Speaker 2: the fourth quarter, or you get the touchdown to Van
- 21:01Speaker 2: Jefferson and then you get Russell sneaking it in as well,
- 21:04Speaker 2: So one through.
- 21:05Speaker 3: The air, one on the ground.
- 21:06Speaker 2: They built a two score lead in the second half
- 21:08Speaker 2: as they went into the fourth quarter, and then.
- 21:10Speaker 3: We're able to just play Pittsburgh football, which was.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Handed off to Najie Harris, who looked invigorated in this.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Game by the block and kicks.
- 21:17Speaker 2: How awesome was that scene with their special teams coordinator
- 21:21Speaker 2: down there as well, And then Jalen Warren two had
- 21:24Speaker 2: a couple of big runs like that's how that's how
- 21:25Speaker 2: Pittsburgh wants to win, right and it just it felt
- 21:28Speaker 2: like Russell gave them an opportunity.
- 21:29Speaker 3: And how about this they doubled basically doubled up the
- 21:32Speaker 3: Jets in yards per play in this game.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Like the Steelers offense doubled up the Jets with Devontae
- 21:39Speaker 2: Adams that everybody in Aaron Rodgers in yards per play,
- 21:41Speaker 2: they were more explosive.
- 21:44Speaker 1: That's a saucy nug. You didn't tease it as such,
- 21:47Speaker 1: but that's sorry, saucy nugg. That's a saucy nugg. I
- 21:50Speaker 1: got a lot of thoughts on this one. So let's
- 21:51Speaker 1: start first of all here Mike Tomlin and the decision.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I said this in the week if you missed it,
- 21:56Speaker 1: But my theory on that was, if we're gonna laud
- 21:58Speaker 1: all these coaches who use this phrase, it's about the process,
- 22:02Speaker 1: it's not about results. And you hear Nick Saban say,
- 22:05Speaker 1: We've heard Belichick say it. You've heard every coach utter
- 22:07Speaker 1: that phrase. Normally it's said when you lose a football game,
- 22:11Speaker 1: you say, you know what, we're not gonna We're not
- 22:13Speaker 1: going to focus on the result that we lost. The
- 22:15Speaker 1: process was right, how we went about it, how we prepared.
- 22:18Speaker 1: The result wasn't there, but the process, process, process, well,
- 22:22Speaker 1: that should also be the case if you're winning games
- 22:24Speaker 1: and you look and find flaws in the process, and
- 22:27Speaker 1: I think that's what Mike Tomlin did. He looked at
- 22:29Speaker 1: it and said, we're missing opportunities in the past game.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Yes we're winning football games, but I am focused on
- 22:36Speaker 1: the play in the process, not the result in terms
- 22:39Speaker 1: of a win or a loss. And that's why you
- 22:40Speaker 1: had the conviction to say, we need more, and maybe
- 22:44Speaker 1: maybe Russ can't give us more, but we're going to
- 22:46Speaker 1: find out. We're going to put him out there and
- 22:47Speaker 1: find out if he can take this to another level
- 22:49Speaker 1: and give guys opportunities to make plays. So I applaud
- 22:53Speaker 1: Mike Tomlin on that did so before the game, and
- 22:55Speaker 1: I'll do so after the game. I thought that was
- 22:58Speaker 1: the right move. A couple other thoughts. You talked about
- 23:01Speaker 1: how they're playing physical, running the ball, getting the tight
- 23:05Speaker 1: ends involved with friarmourth and with Washington, and then big
- 23:09Speaker 1: shot opportunities down the field and Rhett this is the
- 23:12Speaker 1: one that I was thinking of watching this game. I'm
- 23:14Speaker 1: watching on the other side, Mike Williams, who's been publicly
- 23:18Speaker 1: embarrassed by Aaron Rodgers after a game. You go out
- 23:22Speaker 1: and get Davante Adams, so he falls further down the
- 23:24Speaker 1: pecking order, he didn't practice early in the week. I
- 23:28Speaker 1: don't know what was going on there, but it sounds
- 23:30Speaker 1: like obviously he'd have a legitimate reason to not want
- 23:33Speaker 1: to be a New York Jet and if the Jets
- 23:36Speaker 1: are interested in trading him, I'm sitting here watching this
- 23:39Speaker 1: ball game going. I was around Mike Williams with the
- 23:41Speaker 1: Chargers his whole career. What Mike Williams does well is
- 23:45Speaker 1: what Russell Wilson was giving George Pickens opportunities to do
- 23:49Speaker 1: in that game. If you're going to trade Mike Williams,
- 23:52Speaker 1: and I'm Omar Khan, I'm calling as a Pittsburgh Steeler
- 23:56Speaker 1: and saying, hey, come on back over here. So he
- 23:58Speaker 1: went a nice catch on a fourth down, But we
- 24:01Speaker 1: will utilize you in what you do. We'll put you
- 24:03Speaker 1: opposite of George Pickens. And now we have you talk
- 24:07Speaker 1: about a basketball team with those tight ends. If you
- 24:10Speaker 1: put Mike Williams out there with George Pickens and with
- 24:13Speaker 1: a quarterback who wants to give guys chances down the field,
- 24:16Speaker 1: tell me I'm not crazy here for thinking that.
- 24:19Speaker 2: You're You're not crazy, and you know what I you know,
- 24:22Speaker 2: and I shame he got injured early in the season.
- 24:25Speaker 2: But Roman Wilson. I felt like, if you get those big,
- 24:28Speaker 2: those big dudes out there and you let Roman work
- 24:29Speaker 2: in the slot, do you know the rookie man that
- 24:32Speaker 2: would be, that'd be a lot of fun.
- 24:34Speaker 3: You know as well.
- 24:35Speaker 2: I love that idea. I love that idea as long
- 24:37Speaker 2: as you're continuing to feed you know, George Pickens, I
- 24:39Speaker 2: feel like the targets have to stay that way for
- 24:42Speaker 2: him to be engaged. And and you know what he
- 24:45Speaker 2: was against the Jets.
- 24:47Speaker 1: You know who played well in this game too for
- 24:48Speaker 1: the for the Steelers, Peyton Wilson, the linebacker let him
- 24:51Speaker 1: and tackles as a rookie who was a steal with
- 24:54Speaker 1: the ninety seventh pick. He was in my top fifty.
- 24:56Speaker 1: It was really just his Yeah, Beanie Bishop, by the way,
- 24:59Speaker 1: I think Andie Bishop has already passed Beanie Wells as
- 25:02Speaker 1: the best beanie in NFL history. Just off that off
- 25:05Speaker 1: that one game and then he was awesome. Mason McCormick
- 25:10Speaker 1: starting up front along the offensive line. Keep in mind,
- 25:12Speaker 1: once they get to the buy and get out of
- 25:13Speaker 1: the buy, they're going to get Troy Fatanu, their first
- 25:15Speaker 1: round pick back. They'll eventually get Zach Frazer who was
- 25:18Speaker 1: playing awesome as their center. That is a heck of
- 25:21Speaker 1: a draft class. And then you just throw Beanie in
- 25:23Speaker 1: there as a little he's a he's a bonus Beanie,
- 25:26Speaker 1: uh for for being an undrafted free agent. What they
- 25:28Speaker 1: and what they got out of him. Someone we saw
- 25:30Speaker 1: at the you know, at the Big twelve combine, who
- 25:33Speaker 1: was running in the four threes. You know there, Yeah,
- 25:37Speaker 1: he was awesome. That's a that's a heck of a class.
- 25:40Speaker 1: And on the previous year, we're seeing Washington make plays.
- 25:44Speaker 1: You're seeing Broderick Jones out there moving people in there
- 25:46Speaker 1: in their run game. That's two really good drafts. It
- 25:49Speaker 1: kind of changed, Uh, this kind of whole nucleus of
- 25:52Speaker 1: the Pittsburgh Steelers. They've got their stars. You know, you've
- 25:55Speaker 1: got You've got Watt, who's a star. Fitzpatrick's a star.
- 25:58Speaker 1: But man, they've built a lot of the guts team
- 26:00Speaker 1: in the last two dirafts and.
- 26:01Speaker 2: The way that they've remade that offensive line, I think,
- 26:04Speaker 2: you know, we talk about teams that have done that
- 26:05Speaker 2: in the past. I feel like the Chiefs have had
- 26:07Speaker 2: to do it like three different times in the Mahomes era.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Bengals kind of started to do it as well with Burrow.
- 26:13Speaker 2: But yeah, with the Steelers have done here because it
- 26:15Speaker 2: got bad for a while, right, I mean we were
- 26:18Speaker 2: talking three years ago, like whoa what happened here? Right
- 26:21Speaker 2: with with Pittsburgh obviously been known for having, you know,
- 26:25Speaker 2: a solid group upfront, and they've done a terrific job
- 26:29Speaker 2: Omar Khan has, especially here in these last two years.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Quickly on the other side of things, the Jets, I
- 26:36Speaker 1: had my doubts of whether or not this would pay
- 26:39Speaker 1: dividends immediately. I thought they'd be a little bit more
- 26:41Speaker 1: on the same page than maybe they would have been.
- 26:44Speaker 1: And look, I think that'll get better offensively for them.
- 26:48Speaker 1: But man, I just Aaron Rodgers said something after the
- 26:51Speaker 1: game where he said he didn't like the energy, and
- 26:53Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I thought the body language is just brutal.
- 26:58Speaker 1: It's just like if they don't get going, and that
- 27:01Speaker 1: it's he's the face of the team. It's just a man,
- 27:06Speaker 1: It's not a It is a hangar, head downer body
- 27:12Speaker 1: language that you're getting from the New York Jets. And
- 27:14Speaker 1: then Garrett Wilson after the ball clanks off his chest,
- 27:17Speaker 1: his body language was not good. It's just energy. The
- 27:21Speaker 1: overall energy from that side right now not great. And defensively,
- 27:26Speaker 1: I know they're missing pieces, but they're not playing as
- 27:28Speaker 1: well on that side of the ball either.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I thought the energy thing was was a huge, huge
- 27:34Speaker 2: kind of red flag. You know, as he talked about.
- 27:37Speaker 3: It comes to the television, It just comes right to
- 27:40Speaker 3: the TV. I live.
- 27:42Speaker 2: He's like, I live for these types of games, right
- 27:44Speaker 2: You're the only game in town, everybody's watching. You want
- 27:47Speaker 2: to be at your best and for the energy to
- 27:49Speaker 2: be flat a game like that, you know, Yeah, that
- 27:54Speaker 2: that does say a little bit of something there about
- 27:56Speaker 2: what the Jets are dealing with right now. Hopefully they
- 27:58Speaker 2: can't get this thing rolling. They got a chance to
- 28:00Speaker 2: go do it this week. Believe they're up in New
- 28:02Speaker 2: England the Battle of Patriots in an afcast matchup.
- 28:04Speaker 3: So, yeah, what.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Happens there, Tennessee Buffalo RTT. What was your takeaway in
- 28:10Speaker 1: that one?
- 28:13Speaker 2: Look, Tennessee's limited offensively. I think that's just the kind
- 28:18Speaker 2: of the best way to put it. From the quarterback
- 28:20Speaker 2: spot with Will Levis out and or ineffective and you know,
- 28:25Speaker 2: with some some bad decisions that kind of keep popping
- 28:27Speaker 2: up even when he's in there, and so you know
- 28:29Speaker 2: what I see then on the Bill side of things
- 28:32Speaker 2: was Ray Davis.
- 28:34Speaker 1: It's a stud in he only had filed me in.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you have five carries in this game.
- 28:40Speaker 2: But man, he just looks like he's got so much juice,
- 28:43Speaker 2: especially between the tackles, like like he comes right off
- 28:47Speaker 2: his offensive line, like there's there's no wasted movements, there's
- 28:50Speaker 2: no wasted yards in the way that he runs, like
- 28:53Speaker 2: so efficient with his cuts. He's got great, great physicality
- 28:57Speaker 2: and balance when he's getting contacted.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Man, I feel like you got to give him more carries.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I'm not saying that James Cook has done anything wrong
- 29:04Speaker 2: here at this point, but I feel like Ray Davis
- 29:06Speaker 2: has earned himself a right to get more than what
- 29:09Speaker 2: the Bills, you know, I've been given him, and I
- 29:12Speaker 2: think they got to probably figure that out now that
- 29:13Speaker 2: both of them this is kind of the first game
- 29:15Speaker 2: where they've really worked both of them in after Cook
- 29:18Speaker 2: was out last week.
- 29:19Speaker 3: So I think that's a huge deal for the Bills
- 29:21Speaker 3: going forward.
- 29:22Speaker 2: And then you know, Marii Cooper, you know, is trying
- 29:24Speaker 2: to figure out what what Rowdy's run and still ends
- 29:26Speaker 2: up catching a touchdown pass. So I mean things are
- 29:28Speaker 2: coming up basis for Josh Allen here.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Yes, let me touch on Ray Davis quickly. Ray Davis,
- 29:35Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you the the teeter totter analogy, Rhett.
- 29:39Speaker 1: That's like as the weather goes down, the carrier should
- 29:42Speaker 1: go up. That's the that's the teeter totter we need
- 29:45Speaker 1: here with Ray Davis as we get later into the year.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Just I'm okay, if you want to, if you want
- 29:49Speaker 1: to be a little bit, you know, sparing with how
- 29:52Speaker 1: you're giving him touches. Let's get to the year. But
- 29:54Speaker 1: I'm telling you, as we get into the colder months,
- 29:55Speaker 1: especially up in Buffalo, he's built for that. He is
- 29:58Speaker 1: a perfect fit. He's better than Zach Moss. And Zach
- 30:02Speaker 1: Moss we saw a run up there in that system
- 30:04Speaker 1: and have some success. So I'm a Ray Davis fan. There.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I went and watched Keon Coleman his targets and catches
- 30:11Speaker 1: because he had a big day, some big plays with
- 30:14Speaker 1: with the rookie out there really two things broken tackles,
- 30:17Speaker 1: broken play that's that's where his yards came from. Has
- 30:20Speaker 1: a slant spins out of a tackle and goes and
- 30:23Speaker 1: then you just have him reacting with with Josh Allen
- 30:26Speaker 1: scrambling around and getting in his vision and getting a
- 30:28Speaker 1: big play that way. So good to see there though,
- 30:31Speaker 1: for Keon Coleman and a Buffalo team with Gregory Rousseau
- 30:35Speaker 1: off the edge. We both watched his pressures. We were
- 30:37Speaker 1: talking about that this morning off air, and that's someone
- 30:40Speaker 1: who just unique with his with his length and versatility
- 30:44Speaker 1: inside outside, can win on a pure rush. You can
- 30:46Speaker 1: use him on games. He can power you. Gosh, who
- 30:50Speaker 1: is it Petite Freeer he put on? Yeah, so he's Yeah,
- 30:55Speaker 1: the pressures I think said the PFF had him for
- 30:57Speaker 1: like eleven pressures. A couple of those maybe a little
- 31:00Speaker 1: bit generous, but overall very disruptive. Just to he's just
- 31:03Speaker 1: turned into a really good football player.
- 31:07Speaker 3: And and you know, he was one of our favorite
- 31:09Speaker 3: path of the draft interviews.
- 31:10Speaker 2: You remember how inquisitive he was to us, YEA what
- 31:13Speaker 2: he's Yeah, he just wanted to wanted to like just
- 31:16Speaker 2: soak everything up.
- 31:17Speaker 3: And I love that. I love getting to know him
- 31:19Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 31:20Speaker 2: And I think, yeah, when when Jalen Duncan went out
- 31:23Speaker 2: for Tennessee and Petite Freer went in there.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Uh Russou really started the feast.
- 31:28Speaker 2: So it's great to know the Bills can kind of
- 31:31Speaker 2: have one of those dominant type of dudes off the
- 31:33Speaker 2: edge for that Sean McDermott defense.
- 31:36Speaker 3: So yeah, the Bills are. Bills are in good shape
- 31:38Speaker 3: at this point of five.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Let's rip through some more than you don't need to
- 31:42Speaker 1: take as long hair. Seattle Atlanta not the most esthetically
- 31:45Speaker 1: pleasing game, I guess if you're a Seahawk fan. It
- 31:47Speaker 1: was fun to watch, but not a very competitive game there.
- 31:51Speaker 2: No, And look, I think for Seattle what this kind
- 31:54Speaker 2: of you know, continues to prove for you is Kenneth
- 31:57Speaker 2: Walker is kind of the engine to me that make
- 32:00Speaker 2: this offense go. You know, the way that he runs
- 32:04Speaker 2: the football, and you can obviously see it certainly helps
- 32:06Speaker 2: when you've got just a whole, you know, three yard
- 32:10Speaker 2: size hole there.
- 32:10Speaker 3: But and then watch what he does in the past
- 32:13Speaker 3: game here watch this catch.
- 32:14Speaker 2: How many running backs go up and make that type
- 32:16Speaker 2: of adjustment to a ball in a contested catch with
- 32:19Speaker 2: a defender close in coverage. I just think he's got
- 32:21Speaker 2: such a unique style of running the football. He's got
- 32:23Speaker 2: great balance there too, and he to me really opens
- 32:28Speaker 2: things up for Seattle, and we saw you know, you know,
- 32:31Speaker 2: be a little bit more judicious with the football in
- 32:34Speaker 2: this game. Probably as a result of that. I think
- 32:36Speaker 2: there's just so many options when when Kenneth Walker's healthy
- 32:38Speaker 2: and rolling for the Seahawks offense.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Yeah, no, And I think they have a chance to
- 32:43Speaker 1: be a really balanced team because they can kind of
- 32:45Speaker 1: do what the game dictates. If they need to run
- 32:47Speaker 1: the ball, they can run it if they need to.
- 32:49Speaker 1: If they find themselves in a shootout, Gino, with the
- 32:51Speaker 1: weapons they have on the outside, he can play in
- 32:53Speaker 1: that type of a game. So I know they're coming
- 32:55Speaker 1: off a little bit of a skid here with with
- 32:57Speaker 1: the three game losing streak, but I do feel good
- 32:59Speaker 1: about the i and talent that they do have there
- 33:01Speaker 1: in Seattle, and I think defensively it's strength and numbers.
- 33:04Speaker 1: They just have a lot of really really good young players.
- 33:07Speaker 1: You saw a scoop and score in this game. So
- 33:10Speaker 1: they're doing some good things there in Seattle with the
- 33:12Speaker 1: way they're continuing to build out that roster. In Atlanta, look,
- 33:15Speaker 1: it was a clunker, but they're still sitting here at
- 33:17Speaker 1: four and three. No reason to panic that division is
- 33:20Speaker 1: still within their reach. So we'll see what happens going
- 33:23Speaker 1: forward with them. Let's get to Washington in their game
- 33:27Speaker 1: over Carolina, which let's be generous and call it a
- 33:31Speaker 1: game Carolina non competitive. I said it after I saw
- 33:35Speaker 1: them live was Week two against the Chargers. I said,
- 33:38Speaker 1: they will have the first pick in the draft. Now,
- 33:40Speaker 1: some other teams are given them a run for their
- 33:41Speaker 1: money with how bad Tennessee has been and what they
- 33:45Speaker 1: look like there, and New England's not great either. But
- 33:48Speaker 1: I still think talent wise, I think this is still
- 33:50Speaker 1: it's the most talent starved roster, especially with Derek Brown
- 33:54Speaker 1: not out there to the point where Jayde Daniels can
- 33:56Speaker 1: get hurt early in this ballgame, Marcus Mao, Mariota goes
- 33:59Speaker 1: in and it's a forty burger.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that that did not like seeing that piece of it,
- 34:04Speaker 2: I think is all the more glaring. And I know
- 34:06Speaker 2: Carolina said they're going to stick with Andy Dalton as
- 34:09Speaker 2: the starter for right now. I mean, I mean like
- 34:11Speaker 2: he's been. He's been the post Cincinnati Bengals Andy Dalton
- 34:16Speaker 2: since the Week one start where he you know, helped
- 34:19Speaker 2: or not the Week one start, since his first start
- 34:21Speaker 2: where he, you know, helped the Panthers engineer their their
- 34:23Speaker 2: first and only win of the season. So things are
- 34:25Speaker 2: kind of coming back down to the mean. It feels
- 34:27Speaker 2: like on that side of things, I wonder if if
- 34:29Speaker 2: Bryce Young is is, you know, somewhere on the horizon
- 34:33Speaker 2: here once again, or does it even matter at this
- 34:35Speaker 2: point when you're talking about the roster and the dearth
- 34:38Speaker 2: of talent there. But for the Commanders, I think that
- 34:40Speaker 2: often is one of the biggest maybe you know, positive developments,
- 34:45Speaker 2: if not surprises that we've seen thus far. Maybe even
- 34:47Speaker 2: this season, they played really well together. Ryan Robinson went
- 34:50Speaker 2: over one hundred in this game. Physical presence on the ground,
- 34:53Speaker 2: which obviously helps Mariota's cause. Look at this throw he
- 34:56Speaker 2: made on the run right here to zach Ertz. I mean,
- 34:59Speaker 2: that was some kind of vintage Mariota stuff right there,
- 35:02Speaker 2: and what it you know, it's kind of paid off,
- 35:05Speaker 2: you know, for Adam Peters and for Washington to have
- 35:08Speaker 2: a veteran like Mariota available to come in that can
- 35:12Speaker 2: kind of do some of the things that you like
- 35:14Speaker 2: from Jayden Daniels with the mobility.
- 35:15Speaker 3: So hopefully it's.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Not an extended absence for Daniels and O dan Quinn
- 35:20Speaker 2: said today DJ was week to week on that rib injury.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Yeah, hopefully it's not too much longer. One. I definitely
- 35:26Speaker 1: see him in Caleb a square up here. That's going
- 35:28Speaker 1: to be a fun ball game. This is This is
- 35:31Speaker 1: the last doot on this game and we'll move on
- 35:32Speaker 1: so you don't need to talk much more about it
- 35:34Speaker 1: was an ugly ball game last year. These two teams
- 35:36Speaker 1: finished two games apart in the standings. I mean, they
- 35:39Speaker 1: might as well be oceans apart with where those two
- 35:41Speaker 1: franchises are right now. When you think about where Washing
- 35:44Speaker 1: it's not just the record five and two verses one
- 35:46Speaker 1: and six, but just man one has got so much
- 35:49Speaker 1: momentum and so much going for him there with a
- 35:52Speaker 1: new coaching staff and nailing the quarterback there jayde and Daniels.
- 35:55Speaker 1: So interesting to see how quickly it can take you
- 35:59Speaker 1: off of a different off of one path and puts
- 36:01Speaker 1: you on another one. Those two teams were riding next
- 36:04Speaker 1: to each other, and they are not next to each
- 36:05Speaker 1: other any longer.
- 36:07Speaker 2: No, no, not at all, And it kind of makes
- 36:09Speaker 2: me wonder, like what are they gonna do with Jonathan Brooks?
- 36:11Speaker 2: Like I know they opened the practice window on him,
- 36:14Speaker 2: and I know you'd love to see what he's got here,
- 36:15Speaker 2: but dang sure, no sacrificial Williams all.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Right, speaking of a bad football team, but one with
- 36:24Speaker 1: some hope. New England. They are over there in London
- 36:26Speaker 1: playing against Bucke's Jags. They lose thirty two to sixteen.
- 36:29Speaker 1: It looks ugly, but I'm telling you there's a lot
- 36:31Speaker 1: of good to take out of that game on their
- 36:33Speaker 1: side of things. Before we get to the Jags. Drake
- 36:36Speaker 1: May's making plays, big time throws down the field. He's
- 36:38Speaker 1: using his legs. They he's going to be really, really good. Man.
- 36:43Speaker 1: What I've seen from him, I think he's it was determined, like, hell, okay,
- 36:48Speaker 1: he's ready. We can put him out there even though
- 36:50Speaker 1: we're not very good, and he'll be able to survive.
- 36:52Speaker 1: He's doing more than surviving. He's playing well and I'm
- 36:56Speaker 1: excited about his future there. I don't know who else
- 36:58Speaker 1: is going to be there. From a coaching staff standpoint,
- 37:01Speaker 1: what that looks like off into the future, probably not great.
- 37:04Speaker 1: When Bill Belichick is blasting drawed Mayo's comments about the
- 37:08Speaker 1: toughness of the team, and that's kind of a weird
- 37:11Speaker 1: situation there with your former coach there. But right side
- 37:16Speaker 1: of things starting there with the Patriots, Drake may Is
- 37:18Speaker 1: is going to be really good.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Yeah, And look, I think that's if you're a Patriots fan,
- 37:24Speaker 2: that's what you guy have to hang on to here
- 37:26Speaker 2: at this point, right. I mean, it's like, let's find
- 37:29Speaker 2: a good and use it to project how things can
- 37:33Speaker 2: get better in the future. And that's that's kind of
- 37:35Speaker 2: where you're at for you know, a one win football team.
- 37:37Speaker 2: On the flip side, for the Jaguars, you know, you
- 37:39Speaker 2: want to talk about toughness. They're you know with those
- 37:42Speaker 2: comments from draw Mayo and Belichick, but toughness is what
- 37:46Speaker 2: Tank Bigsby brings to the Jaguars, and it feels like
- 37:49Speaker 2: that's something that they really needed to kind of get
- 37:51Speaker 2: out of this slump that they've been on since early
- 37:53Speaker 2: in the season. So, you know, for me, seeing Tank
- 37:56Speaker 2: go over over one hundred couple of touchdowns, that physical
- 37:58Speaker 2: presence that he brings, you know, it makes me kind
- 38:02Speaker 2: of curious what this thing is going to look like
- 38:03Speaker 2: when Travis Etn gets healthy again, because you know, Bigsby
- 38:07Speaker 2: needs carries and I feel like he gets He's one
- 38:09Speaker 2: of those dudes in one of those backstage that gets
- 38:10Speaker 2: stronger if the game goes on, and you know, I'm
- 38:14Speaker 2: excited to see you know how this offense kind of
- 38:17Speaker 2: maybe shifts and morphs, you know, with the player like
- 38:19Speaker 2: Bigsby in the backfield.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Let me give you one Patriots saucy nug and I'll
- 38:23Speaker 1: get to the Jags. Uh. The New England Patriots have
- 38:26Speaker 1: lost six straight games, as you can see here on
- 38:28Speaker 1: the screen, for the first time since nineteen ninety three.
- 38:31Speaker 1: To put that into context, I had I had braces.
- 38:34Speaker 1: I was a freshman in high school and just just
- 38:37Speaker 1: playing a mean point guard out there, just trying not
- 38:40Speaker 1: to get elbowed in the face because it really did
- 38:42Speaker 1: it did it give you a bloody lift there when
- 38:44Speaker 1: you got those braces on there. Got to put the
- 38:46Speaker 1: little bit put the like wax. Gotta put the wax
- 38:49Speaker 1: over the braces so that doesn't stick to your lip.
- 38:52Speaker 1: But that's what was going on in my life the
- 38:53Speaker 1: last time the Patriots lost six straight games. So that's
- 38:56Speaker 1: a reference call for you.
- 38:57Speaker 3: There.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Not great, not great. On the Jag side of things.
- 39:02Speaker 1: BTJ was great, Bigsby was great, So there's still some
- 39:06Speaker 1: good young pieces there, and it was nice to see
- 39:08Speaker 1: Trevor just kind of exhale a little bit. It was
- 39:10Speaker 1: definitely the game that he needed. Hopefully they can build
- 39:13Speaker 1: off that going forward, because it would they lose that game.
- 39:15Speaker 1: It's a different conversation and who knows, you know, who's
- 39:19Speaker 1: who's there and who's not there in the coming weeks.
- 39:21Speaker 1: All right, let's get one more in here before we
- 39:23Speaker 1: take a pause here. The Raiders the Rams ugly? Ugly?
- 39:28Speaker 1: Is that a way to put it. Unfortunately Aidan O'Connell
- 39:31Speaker 1: goes down with thumb injury, he's going to be down.
- 39:33Speaker 1: The Rams kind of ugly their way to a win.
- 39:37Speaker 2: It was, I mean, like defense, right, let's credit credit
- 39:41Speaker 2: the Rams defense. That's a young group right there, with
- 39:43Speaker 2: all the draft picks that they've spent on that side
- 39:45Speaker 2: of the ball over the last few years and hit on.
- 39:47Speaker 3: A majority of those.
- 39:49Speaker 2: And I think Kobe Durant is one that maybe we
- 39:52Speaker 2: forget about a little bit because he was outstanding in
- 39:55Speaker 2: this game. And you know, I know you watched a
- 39:58Speaker 2: lot of brought Bauers. What he for the Raiders in
- 40:00Speaker 2: this game, which was really good. Once he targeted fourteen times,
- 40:04Speaker 2: I'll let you get to that. But on one of
- 40:06Speaker 2: those third and fives, it was Kobe Durant in coverage
- 40:09Speaker 2: down in the red zone of the Raiders first possession,
- 40:11Speaker 2: and it's Durant that had great coverage on him, makes
- 40:14Speaker 2: a great play on the football, knocks it away, orses
- 40:16Speaker 2: the Raiders to kick a field goal. So I'm going
- 40:18Speaker 2: to say that Kobe helps save four points there for
- 40:22Speaker 2: the Rams because that's usually a completion when it goes
- 40:25Speaker 2: to Bowers, so they keep the touchdown off the board,
- 40:27Speaker 2: make him kick a field goal. He then has an
- 40:29Speaker 2: inter exception while also in coverage on Bowers, which led
- 40:32Speaker 2: to seven points for the Rams offense. So I'm going
- 40:35Speaker 2: to chalk up now eleven points in Kobe Durant's corner
- 40:38Speaker 2: in this game. Then he had a strip sack on
- 40:40Speaker 2: the raiders next offensive possession that was scooped and scored
- 40:44Speaker 2: like Cam Curl. So I'm going to say that Kobe
- 40:46Speaker 2: Durant actually helped, in a way, in some bad math,
- 40:51Speaker 2: outscore the Raiders in this game, helping account for about
- 40:54Speaker 2: eighteen points.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I'll give you positives on the Raiders defensively. They gave
- 40:59Speaker 1: it two hundred five fifty nine yards, which is nothing.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Two of ten the Rams were on third down. They
- 41:04Speaker 1: were excellent in that regard. Their defense. Really nothing to
- 41:08Speaker 1: be ashamed of with how they played and competed. And
- 41:11Speaker 1: you mentioned it. I went back and watched all the
- 41:15Speaker 1: targets there for Brock Bauers. I said it when I
- 41:17Speaker 1: was there in training camp. I know DeVonta Adams is here,
- 41:20Speaker 1: he will be the best player on their offense. Obviously
- 41:22Speaker 1: DeVonta Adams has since moved on. It's it's obvious clear
- 41:25Speaker 1: now he is their best player on offense, and just
- 41:30Speaker 1: you can't get him enough targets. Saucy nug by the way,
- 41:33Speaker 1: I can give you a Brock Bauers saucy nug. I
- 41:37Speaker 1: think we might be setting the record for saucy nugs today.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Let's see here.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Is something about me having him on our rookie fantasy
- 41:43Speaker 3: team or no.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Oh, did you really? That's that's an unfortunate nug. Here's
- 41:47Speaker 1: a Saucy nug forty seven receptions this season. Only Poka
- 41:50Speaker 1: Nakua with fifty eight and Saquon Barkley with forty nine
- 41:53Speaker 1: have more through their first seven games in NFL history.
- 41:57Speaker 1: So good news there. Let's give the Raiders.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Out who's silver and black Waite.
- 42:02Speaker 1: That's a good way to end that discussion there, Hey, Raiders,
- 42:04Speaker 1: it doesn't look pretty, it doesn't look pretty offensively, but uh,
- 42:08Speaker 1: I've got a couple of good young players and uh
- 42:11Speaker 1: and there is some positive, good defense, good bowers. All right, Right,
- 42:18Speaker 1: we had some news come out of that Cleveland game.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson goes down achilles injury. Everything was meant, I'm
- 42:26Speaker 1: not going to get it. Everything was set after the game.
- 42:28Speaker 1: I know a bunch of his teammates came to his defense.
- 42:29Speaker 1: I know some people love that, some people didn't love that.
- 42:32Speaker 1: It's unfortunate. You don't want toe anybody get hurt out there.
- 42:35Speaker 1: You can clearly see the thing pop as someone who's
- 42:37Speaker 1: who's torn his achilles. That's that's what it looks like. So,
- 42:43Speaker 1: you know, just a tough situation there, but an even
- 42:46Speaker 1: tougher situation for where the Browns are. They're one and
- 42:49Speaker 1: six right now. I'll start with this question before we
- 42:51Speaker 1: get to the Bengals for sale sign for players. I know,
- 42:55Speaker 1: you know, Miles Garrett's Name's been floated around there. I
- 42:57Speaker 1: don't know that they would ever trade him, but I
- 43:00Speaker 1: don't bod. I don't have any issue with teams trying
- 43:03Speaker 1: to pry him out of there.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Oh no.
- 43:06Speaker 2: I mean again, I think Zadarius Smith is one to
- 43:08Speaker 2: watch too, you know, as a guy that you know,
- 43:10Speaker 2: maybe not not quite as valuable as Miles Garrett is
- 43:14Speaker 2: to that franchise, so maybe a bit more expendable there.
- 43:18Speaker 2: But yeah, it's it's a it's a tough watch right
- 43:21Speaker 2: now in Cleveland. And you know, I thought it felt
- 43:23Speaker 2: good to see Nick Chubb get back into the end
- 43:25Speaker 2: zone right first game in almost four hundred days after
- 43:27Speaker 2: that devastating knee injury Week two last year.
- 43:31Speaker 3: You know this, he didn't have.
- 43:32Speaker 2: A terrifically you know, prolific day on the ground, but
- 43:35Speaker 2: seeing him get back into the end zone and get
- 43:37Speaker 2: back healthy, you know, maybe that's something that'll really help.
- 43:40Speaker 2: But I assume Jameis Winston moving forward, although he was
- 43:45Speaker 2: the emergency quarterback in this game, which I thought was
- 43:47Speaker 2: interesting in DTR during Thompson Robinson was actually QB two.
- 43:51Speaker 3: He actually came in first and got injured.
- 43:53Speaker 2: So I mean, they're gonna have to sign a quarterback
- 43:56Speaker 2: here at some point. There's just there's so much that's
- 43:58Speaker 2: going wrong right now in Cleveland and or Cincinnati, a
- 44:02Speaker 2: game they really needed, right and Trey Hendrickson, like, as
- 44:05Speaker 2: we're talking about edge rushers, like that dude is.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Such a baller.
- 44:08Speaker 3: I mean, he is so good.
- 44:10Speaker 2: He is so athletic, Like he's so athletic, like he's
- 44:12Speaker 2: sometimes able to manipulate his body, like from pile driving
- 44:15Speaker 2: a quarterback into the ground. He even got called on
- 44:17Speaker 2: one and I thought he did a fantastic job of
- 44:19Speaker 2: trying to limit himself.
- 44:21Speaker 3: From falling onto the quarterback.
- 44:23Speaker 2: He's just he's got one of the best combinations I think,
- 44:26Speaker 2: dj of speed and power in the league off the edge,
- 44:30Speaker 2: like he's just so he's a special dude.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Yeah and polish, you know, speed, power and polish. He
- 44:35Speaker 1: just knows what he's doing. He's a craftsman with using
- 44:38Speaker 1: his hands there as a pass rusher. The Bengals feel
- 44:41Speaker 1: like a team that just we're going to wake up
- 44:43Speaker 1: and we're going to look and they're going to be
- 44:44Speaker 1: like ten and five. You know, at one point in
- 44:46Speaker 1: time we're like, oh man, that was They got to
- 44:48Speaker 1: got themselves into a pretty good position here. They they
- 44:52Speaker 1: start off slow, it's their thing, that's what they do.
- 44:54Speaker 1: But They're finding their way here, find ways to win
- 44:56Speaker 1: ball games, and just one game under five hundred at
- 44:59Speaker 1: this point in time, Miami, Indy. This was again had
- 45:04Speaker 1: I want to trash this weekend to football.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Man.
- 45:06Speaker 1: There was a couple of really good games looked. We
- 45:08Speaker 1: looked at Detroit, Minnesota, Houston, Green Bay, Kcy, San Francisco,
- 45:11Speaker 1: all interesting games. There were some clunkers. This was a clunker.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Going back through and watching Anthony Richardson in a winning
- 45:17Speaker 1: performance ten of twenty four buck twenty nine through the air,
- 45:21Speaker 1: man didn't love what I saw there, just the vision
- 45:24Speaker 1: I question, pushing balls into traffic, laid on throws. There
- 45:29Speaker 1: was some flashes, you see a couple of those big
- 45:31Speaker 1: time throws that he makes, but on the whole not
- 45:35Speaker 1: not what I wanted to see there In terms of
- 45:38Speaker 1: growth with Anthony Richardson, Let's be patient. I know he's raw.
- 45:42Speaker 1: They found a way to win a ball game. Give
- 45:44Speaker 1: the Colts credit for that, Give their defense credit against
- 45:46Speaker 1: the Miami Dolphins team that it sounds like is going
- 45:48Speaker 1: to get to it back here. But man, that was
- 45:51Speaker 1: not an esthetically pleasing tape to watch.
- 45:55Speaker 2: I mean, like we got to get Anthony Richardson to
- 45:56Speaker 2: a point where he can you know, he had played
- 45:58Speaker 2: six games in a row yet as a pro. Yeah,
- 46:00Speaker 2: you know, like we got to find we gotta find
- 46:02Speaker 2: some time to you know, stay consistently in the lineup
- 46:05Speaker 2: here and see what that brings us. And went in
- 46:08Speaker 2: a game where they're without Jonathan Taylor as well, that
- 46:11Speaker 2: was that was not a not a good recipe, but
- 46:13Speaker 2: they found a way to win. To credit them for that.
- 46:16Speaker 2: You know, they ran Anthony coming off the oblique injury
- 46:18Speaker 2: eight times in this game for fifty six yards and
- 46:20Speaker 2: he actually had to pick third down conversion to kind
- 46:23Speaker 2: of help Salt with the clock at the end. So
- 46:26Speaker 2: kind of made some places when they needed to at
- 46:27Speaker 2: the end. But they're gonna need a lot more to contend,
- 46:31Speaker 2: you know with the Texans and company in the AFC,
- 46:34Speaker 2: rely in their own division there in the AFC.
- 46:36Speaker 1: So yeah, no question. And we got a couple a
- 46:39Speaker 1: couple of games coming up tonight. I will be here
- 46:42Speaker 1: in Phoenix for Chargers Cardinals. But before that, we have
- 46:45Speaker 1: the Ravens and the Bucks here. Uh, because give me,
- 46:48Speaker 1: give me one thought there, what are you looking forward
- 46:50Speaker 1: to in this game? What decides this game?
- 46:52Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 46:52Speaker 2: Look, I want to see Baker Mayfield, you know, kind
- 46:55Speaker 2: of execute against this defense. And you know the pressure
- 46:58Speaker 2: that they can put on you from the interior, which
- 47:01Speaker 2: we talked about last week, right with Metta, bk and company,
- 47:03Speaker 2: and then obviously with the crew on the edge getting
- 47:06Speaker 2: after you as well. And you know what kind of
- 47:08Speaker 2: effect does Kyle Hamilton have in this game? And then
- 47:12Speaker 2: like again for the Buccaneers offense, you know what happens
- 47:16Speaker 2: on the ground in this game?
- 47:17Speaker 1: Right?
- 47:17Speaker 3: Is Sean Tucker have it in him? Again?
- 47:19Speaker 2: Do we see more? You know, Bucky irving rocket and
- 47:21Speaker 2: rolling here. I just want to see what this Bucks
- 47:23Speaker 2: offense can do against a really good Ravens defense here.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I And look you look at the Ravens defense.
- 47:31Speaker 1: Fifty nine yards a game given up on the ground.
- 47:33Speaker 1: So you've got Baker Mayfield, who's been hot this year.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I'm just curious if this is one of those games
- 47:38Speaker 1: where you just come out there and say, we're not
- 47:40Speaker 1: even going to try to run the football. We're gonna
- 47:42Speaker 1: come out here, We're yeah, we're gonna let Baker throw
- 47:44Speaker 1: it fifty five times in this ballgame. And then we'll
- 47:47Speaker 1: see if on the other side of things, if the
- 47:50Speaker 1: Ravens get their ground game going. But it's a great matchup.
- 47:52Speaker 1: It's a great doubleheader. The one I'll be at here
- 47:56Speaker 1: Cardinals Chargers. Chargers beat up at wide receiver, but they
- 48:00Speaker 1: do have a healthy offensive line. We saw that last
- 48:02Speaker 1: week against Denver. Just having Slater and all back out there.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Going back through that tape, Sean slatery, it's really really good.
- 48:10Speaker 1: And I know he's missed some time with injury last year. Man,
- 48:15Speaker 1: when he's healthy and out there, I don't know there's
- 48:17Speaker 1: anybody better than him with what he does in the
- 48:19Speaker 1: run game. He's an instant anchor and pass protection. He's
- 48:22Speaker 1: playing great. So you've got healthy offensive line, you got
- 48:25Speaker 1: some receivers down. I expect them to come out run
- 48:27Speaker 1: the football. On the other side, with the Arizona Cardinals,
- 48:31Speaker 1: it's a I mean, it's a box of chocolates.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Man.
- 48:34Speaker 1: It is a Forest Gump team. You watch one tape
- 48:37Speaker 1: one week and you get excited about what they do
- 48:39Speaker 1: against the forty nine ers, and then you pop on
- 48:41Speaker 1: the tape against the Packers and you're like, this team
- 48:44Speaker 1: is lost. So it is as tricking team to figure out.
- 48:48Speaker 1: But having Marvin Harrison Junior back and healthy, looking forward
- 48:52Speaker 1: to seeing him and Kyler Murray on the same field
- 48:54Speaker 1: at the same time. I gave coach Harbaugh my comp
- 48:56Speaker 1: for Kyler Murray. By the way Vett I said, you know,
- 49:00Speaker 1: I said, he looks like, you know, the Roadrunner with
- 49:02Speaker 1: the football, and I thought that would be kind of Roadrunner.
- 49:04Speaker 1: I can imagine Jim maybe growing up maybe watching Roadrunner.
- 49:09Speaker 1: I thought that might Land didn't really. Land didn't really.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Land didn't really get much reaction on that one, but
- 49:15Speaker 1: uh more literal. I think Coach Harbaugh is a little
- 49:17Speaker 1: more literal, not going with me on the so swinging
- 49:22Speaker 1: your mess, you take your shots. That one missed.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Hey, you know, sometimes you just gotta you gotta keep shooting, Bud,
- 49:28Speaker 2: you know, you just you know, let's see what you
- 49:29Speaker 2: got next week, you know, I mean, you have another
- 49:31Speaker 2: opportunity of this thing.
- 49:32Speaker 3: I got faith in you. You know.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Look, you know, I think we all you know, sometimes
- 49:38Speaker 2: we'll give you a little courtesy laugh. But but for
- 49:40Speaker 2: the most part, like.
- 49:41Speaker 1: You needed to do and I needed that. I needed that.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Those courtesy laughs get me by man. I live. That's
- 49:46Speaker 1: that's a fuel for me. I need.
- 49:49Speaker 3: I got to have it.
- 49:50Speaker 1: That's That's why I surround myself with good friends like
- 49:53Speaker 1: you to give me that's right, that's right away. That
- 49:56Speaker 1: was it was fun. I appreciate it. That was fun
- 49:59Speaker 1: going to the games. They will be fun having Buck back.
- 50:01Speaker 1: I believe we'll be back with us tomorrow as we
- 50:03Speaker 1: have our rookie draft and continue to look at the
- 50:06Speaker 1: NFL and what's going on. So appreciate you guys hanging
- 50:08Speaker 1: with us. We will see you next time. Right here on.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Move the sticks.
