A driver who killed Bill Martin, director of the Valentine Museum, has pleaded guilty to three charges—including texting while driving and having a suspended license—after the fatal crash on Dec. 27, 2025. The driver, Harry McCray, admitted he was distracted by his phone and said he was emotionally drained from his daughter’s hospitalization. Despite initially denying the suspended license charge, prosecutors proved it with prior speeding records. He faces up to three years in prison, with sentencing set for December 1st.
