- 0:01Speaker 1: Jarre, you, Katy and Josh six one hundred.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Josh, you kick us off. What's going on in your world?
- 0:07Speaker 3: You know the world. I had a little thing happened
- 0:10Speaker 3: to me yesterday that was kind of funny to me.
- 0:12Speaker 3: And it was directly after we were hanging out you,
- 0:15Speaker 3: me and Katie after work for a little bit. I
- 0:16Speaker 3: was hungry and hangering for some Chick fil A and
- 0:19Speaker 3: I was near the Chick fil A that I used
- 0:22Speaker 3: to work at, and because of that, I wanted to
- 0:24Speaker 3: go in pop in and say Hi. There's a few
- 0:26Speaker 3: people that still work there, like my old managers, and
- 0:29Speaker 3: I like to say hi. Well, one worker was there,
- 0:30Speaker 3: and God bless her. I love her. Her name is Shelley.
- 0:33Speaker 3: She is the sweetest lady. Worked with her, have known
- 0:35Speaker 3: her for years. But there was one thing yesterday that
- 0:38Speaker 3: was happening to me. She was the only person, you know,
- 0:41Speaker 3: taking orders. Okay, So I get up to the line
- 0:43Speaker 3: and I'm like, hey, Shelly, how are you We start talking,
- 0:45Speaker 3: I put in my order and I kid you not.
- 0:48Speaker 3: For like seven to ten minutes, she kept me there
- 0:52Speaker 3: and was showing me pictures of her son, who ran
- 0:54Speaker 3: a ten k. In thirty minutes, and she was so
- 0:56Speaker 3: proud of and it's so cute, Like it's such a
- 0:58Speaker 3: cute conversation of an older woman showing me her life
- 1:02Speaker 3: because she lives alone. She probably doesn't have many people
- 1:04Speaker 3: to talk to. You relate to that, yeah, and so
- 1:06Speaker 3: it was adorable. But at the same time, I'm like sweating,
- 1:09Speaker 3: nervous because I gotta go the line man building you guys,
- 1:13Speaker 3: and I'm like, Shelley, I ordered like I had already
- 1:16Speaker 3: gotten my food handed to me. They were like, Josh,
- 1:19Speaker 3: and my food was ready. She's still talking to me.
- 1:22Speaker 3: It was so awkward. It's I don't know how to
- 1:27Speaker 3: end conversations.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Good you give her a tongue kiss, Shelly, you take
- 1:34Speaker 4: you taste like it was awful. It was weird seeing
- 1:38Speaker 4: like everybody's still working there, like from your job in
- 1:40Speaker 4: high school. Essentially, yes, they've moved up, though I would imagine, oh.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah really some of them. Some of them haven't.
- 1:49Speaker 3: But you know what, Look, Chick fil A is great,
- 1:50Speaker 3: Benny's Like they treat their customers really well, and the
- 1:54Speaker 3: managers make quite a lot of money.
- 1:56Speaker 4: You could have still been there, and you could have
- 1:58Speaker 4: been a manager. Now, you could have owned your own
- 2:00Speaker 4: franchise by now easily.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Yeah, and I didn't do that. And that's okay. People
- 2:05Speaker 3: think and here you are, okay, here you are are
- 2:08Speaker 3: not supposed to make me cry.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Those managers making a good money twenty times your salary.
- 2:16Speaker 5: Oh yeah, they're talking about that. They're making a good good.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And you can steal boxes at Chick fil A sause
- 2:21Speaker 2: and dig them home.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Okay. That's the other thing. I forgot how how expensive
- 2:26Speaker 3: Chick fil A is because when I used to get
- 2:27Speaker 3: that ish for free, it was so nice, and now
- 2:30Speaker 3: it's like twenty bucks.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, twenty bucks for amator meal. You gotta
- 2:35Speaker 4: make manager money to get those sandwiches.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Been, no, I miss getting it for free.
- 2:39Speaker 2: You gonna go back and apply today.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Already did yesterday.
- 2:44Speaker 4: We were talking about Josh hanging out at the Chick
- 2:46Speaker 4: fil A yesterday and we were kind of joking, maybe
- 2:49Speaker 4: you should have picked up a application.
- 2:52Speaker 2: You probably make more money there than you do here.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Right, I could pick up a few shifts right in
- 2:55Speaker 3: the afternoon.
- 2:56Speaker 4: So just an assistant general manager, you're gonna be at
- 3:00Speaker 4: fifty five thousand a year. Oh that's not much assistant GM.
- 3:06Speaker 4: A general manager of your store. Now here's where you
- 3:09Speaker 4: start raking it in your your base is about seventy
- 3:12Speaker 4: three to ninety two. But if you're at a high
- 3:15Speaker 4: volume location, which we'll get back to, you can reach
- 3:19Speaker 4: up to one hundred and fifty thousand dollars a year
- 3:23Speaker 4: and some performance bonuses can.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Be on top of that.
- 3:26Speaker 4: So that's for a GM slash store manager at a
- 3:29Speaker 4: high volume location.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Now, let me ask you, isn't that every Chick fil
- 3:33Speaker 2: A that's a volume location.
- 3:35Speaker 6: Which makes that money not worth it at all? Like, really,
- 3:39Speaker 6: you are working so much? You work in fifteen sixteen
- 3:42Speaker 6: hours a day, were feeding people is so stressful.
- 3:46Speaker 5: If you think you're gonna lay back.
- 3:48Speaker 6: And you know, search stories on the internet all day
- 3:51Speaker 6: like we do right now, there's no way.
- 3:53Speaker 4: But it's there's a pleasure, there's you're gonna say my
- 3:55Speaker 4: pleasure like million years?
- 3:57Speaker 5: So much more stress. Like probably you're stress?
- 4:00Speaker 2: Are you Have you.
- 4:03Speaker 5: Ever worked in the food industry?
- 4:04Speaker 3: No?
- 4:04Speaker 1: But when the fan that all comes back.
- 4:08Speaker 6: On you like no, I I don't think you realize
- 4:10Speaker 6: how much pressure is on a GM at a fast
- 4:14Speaker 6: food stop, but it's there was a lot of pressure
- 4:17Speaker 6: fast food.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Hold on, we're talking Chick fil A.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I will say I was a shift manager. When I
- 4:21Speaker 3: got there, was there a lot of pressure? No?
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah, how about a GM, A.
- 4:25Speaker 5: GM though it's a shift managed GM's.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Out back smoking cigarettes till everybody else.
- 4:30Speaker 5: I don't know what.
- 4:33Speaker 3: That's the lord's place.
- 4:34Speaker 6: Sorry sorry, but even period like no, and then right
- 4:39Speaker 6: now with nobody wanting to nobody wanting to.
- 4:42Speaker 5: Work, and then you have to pick up the.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Slacks from your I'm not gonna lie jo.
- 4:48Speaker 6: Josh was there ten years ago, Jeremy. Things have changed
- 4:51Speaker 6: since then.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Let's Josh changed the staff. Hasn't they treat the staff
- 5:00Speaker 3: really well? I don't know that staff.
- 5:03Speaker 4: They're so ball thing like, it can't be that bad
- 5:05Speaker 4: because people are still there from when Josh was in
- 5:08Speaker 4: high school.
- 5:09Speaker 3: All right, Well the high schoolers left like me, but
- 5:12Speaker 3: the managerial staff largely is still, which speaks volumes to them.
- 5:17Speaker 3: First of all. That means they treat them all and
- 5:19Speaker 3: pay them well.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I want to know what the performance bonuses are.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Good bennies, and you get.
- 5:24Speaker 5: The steel boxes and chick filates.
- 5:26Speaker 4: You can dip your cigarettes in that when you're out
- 5:28Speaker 4: back smoking.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Gross.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know.
- 5:32Speaker 6: We got people on the text line preach Katie retired
- 5:35Speaker 6: full service GM here and she.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Says not from where though?
- 5:39Speaker 2: From where?
- 5:40Speaker 5: Still still? And you know you have.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Got Sundays off?
- 5:44Speaker 3: No, I never worked on a Sunday. Yeah, I don't,
- 5:46Speaker 3: thank you.
- 5:47Speaker 2: M four days a month off.
- 5:49Speaker 3: We work at my shelves on a Sunday. Here, we
- 5:51Speaker 3: work on Sundays and you Coast do that.
- 5:53Speaker 2: It's like you have the day off.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Well no, no, no, you don't make me look good.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I mean you're very dedicated in your hardworking in your
- 6:03Speaker 4: pockets are legit.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Time for a little sports update.
- 6:07Speaker 3: What you got, Josh? What I'm about to make dads
- 6:10Speaker 3: and lawn care owners happy all around the world here
- 6:13Speaker 3: today because we're talking sod. Yeah, we're talking FIFA sod
- 6:17Speaker 3: and so much has gone into this to create literally
- 6:21Speaker 3: the best grass that they can for these players on
- 6:24Speaker 3: the pitch. That's what they call it.
- 6:26Speaker 2: And just America is a field.
- 6:27Speaker 3: It is a field, you're right, is a field out there.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Look look at how green at field is out there?
- 6:33Speaker 3: Either one Katie, just playing field. The FIFA pitch venue
- 6:39Speaker 3: manager of Los Angeles talked about what goes into this
- 6:43Speaker 3: and it is basically a seven year process of finding
- 6:47Speaker 3: the perfect match of sod that they can just roll
- 6:50Speaker 3: out onto these fields because a lot of these football
- 6:52Speaker 3: stadiums that where these soccer games are being played, they
- 6:55Speaker 3: use AstroTurf, which is the fake grass, and the FIFA
- 6:58Speaker 3: does not allow that. They don't allow AstroTurf on there.
- 7:01Speaker 3: So they come up with the perfect mixture of ninety
- 7:04Speaker 3: five percent real grass with a plastic coating underneath which
- 7:08Speaker 3: makes the roots grow sideways and embed and make it
- 7:11Speaker 3: tougher for it to be torn up.
- 7:12Speaker 2: I was watching the video on this on how they
- 7:14Speaker 2: grow that.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Yeah, there's like a plastic underlayer so that the roots
- 7:18Speaker 4: don't go into the soil. They spread out and then
- 7:21Speaker 4: you slice it and you'd just.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Roll it right up. It was fascinating.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Well, and it's great, and it makes it easier for
- 7:26Speaker 3: if there is a divot in the grass, which is
- 7:28Speaker 3: obviously going to happen during a match, they can just
- 7:31Speaker 3: cut that little square out and replace it like it's patchwork.
- 7:34Speaker 3: And Justin Lang actually talked about the process of this,
- 7:38Speaker 3: and man, first of all, I could listen to him
- 7:39Speaker 3: talk for years because his voice. But the process about
- 7:42Speaker 3: the whole thing is fascinating.
- 7:43Speaker 7: Wait, right, this all my slocked one of ourn children
- 7:46Speaker 7: living breathing thing.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Seven years. That's how long it took to engineer the
- 7:50Speaker 3: grass for this year's World Cup. It's called a cop carbrid.
- 7:53Speaker 7: We grow it on a sod farm in Washington Stite
- 7:56Speaker 7: and it's being on the sod fomb for twelve knocks
- 8:00Speaker 7: natural grass.
- 8:01Speaker 3: When we harvest it, put it.
- 8:02Speaker 7: On the back of a truck, calms down and we
- 8:05Speaker 7: we lie it out and it's pretty much ready ply turf.
- 8:07Speaker 3: During matches focused on the surface, every.
- 8:11Speaker 7: Guy's up a different challenge and you got to think
- 8:14Speaker 7: on your fight.
- 8:15Speaker 3: We don't got to the.
- 8:16Speaker 7: Point Rod signed good noight to it every nod but
- 8:19Speaker 7: while tucking it into bed but not far off it rotten.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Yeah, that's funny. So it's all in these refrigerated trucks
- 8:27Speaker 4: that they transfer it. Do you know a lot of
- 8:28Speaker 4: it's grown here in Denver?
- 8:30Speaker 3: No, I don't know.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of it's grown here in Denver.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Well, we do have really good weather for it. Obviously,
- 8:34Speaker 3: it needs so much sun to soak up, and they
- 8:37Speaker 3: have been using these like fake sunlight essentially for all
- 8:40Speaker 3: these fields that are covered because so many domes in
- 8:43Speaker 3: the United States.
- 8:45Speaker 6: Literally, what it reminds me of is the honey as
- 8:47Speaker 6: shrunk the kids when he has the lever and the
- 8:49Speaker 6: pulley and he's looking through the grass and he you know,
- 8:52Speaker 6: hovering above it, like that's them making sure the grass
- 8:55Speaker 6: is perfect, the sod is perfect.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Well, we get bragging rights because we have the best
- 8:59Speaker 3: grass we do.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Okay, Colorado?
- 9:04Speaker 3: Well, Okay, I met the feel?
- 9:06Speaker 1: Okay, do you make the way you said it?
- 9:07Speaker 2: Why do you always have to make anything about.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Josh?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Why is everything always about drugs? Media? The world? I
- 9:15Speaker 2: turned down the music.
- 9:16Speaker 4: Is there a hotline or website we need to get
- 9:18Speaker 4: you to immediately? Do we need to get your mom
- 9:20Speaker 4: on the phone, Kerry Josh is a stoner.
- 9:24Speaker 2: He's a closet stoner.
- 9:25Speaker 8: Carry viral local moments, local legends, and just enough national
- 9:32Speaker 8: drama to keep your group chat spicy.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Ok you guys, file high hip.
- 9:39Speaker 4: I'll mix get you updated on all the big things
- 9:42Speaker 4: trending today.
- 9:43Speaker 2: It is Social media Day.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Data celebrate all the wonderful things that social media has
- 9:51Speaker 4: brought upon us.
- 9:52Speaker 2: As we were just.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Discussing off the air, all the hidden comments on our
- 9:56Speaker 4: Facebook page. Yeah, we have so many people are mean
- 10:00Speaker 4: to us. Yeah, stop being so mean to us. It
- 10:03Speaker 4: was originally created in twenty ten by Mashable to recognize
- 10:06Speaker 4: social media's impact on bringing the world together, although all
- 10:10Speaker 4: it's done is tear us apart and lower birth rates. Ironically,
- 10:15Speaker 4: a lot of the companies celebrating at the time were
- 10:18Speaker 4: like MySpace and Friendster and vine all rip may they rest.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Story here says the average person spends about one hundred
- 10:27Speaker 4: and forty one minutes a day on the socials.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I've been getting better at that.
- 10:33Speaker 4: I've definitely been putting my phone down and not scrolling
- 10:36Speaker 4: through the socials as much anymore, especially Facebook, because everyone
- 10:41Speaker 4: is so angry and mean.
- 10:42Speaker 3: On their It's pretty divisive.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It's very divisible politics, politics, and AI.
- 10:49Speaker 4: I can't trust anything I see on there anymore unless
- 10:52Speaker 4: you're on Jeremy, Katie and Josh's Facebook.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Yeah, everything is mad legit on there.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Anything else About five for a billion people use social
- 11:01Speaker 4: media every day and that was just last year, in
- 11:04Speaker 4: twenty twenty five.
- 11:05Speaker 3: So dang, we love.
- 11:07Speaker 5: Our socialist for sure.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Will Will Ferrell is officially an underwear model. He is
- 11:13Speaker 4: the face of the latest men's campaign for Skims. He
- 11:18Speaker 4: posted some pictures of himself as pro golfer Lonnie Hawkins
- 11:23Speaker 4: from the upcoming comedy series The Hawk. And you guys
- 11:26Speaker 4: see the pictures, it looks pretty good, man, Yeah, yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Find good. I mean he looks like a he looks he's.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Got quite the bulge.
- 11:37Speaker 5: How old is Will Ferrell?
- 11:38Speaker 4: He's up there that obviously it's all you know, tongue
- 11:42Speaker 4: in cheek and funny.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Yeah, good for him.
- 11:45Speaker 5: Pretty good.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Like everything looks like it's supposed to be where it
- 11:47Speaker 1: is right well.
- 11:48Speaker 2: And Skims is holding him together. You know that's sucking. Amen,
- 11:51Speaker 2: Skims is just.
- 11:52Speaker 1: On the bottom part. Like he's looking pretty good for
- 11:54Speaker 1: fifty eight.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Kim Kardashians.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Her quote is his body says retire, his skims say
- 12:01Speaker 4: one more round bill for the men who.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Still know they've got it.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 12:06Speaker 4: The Hawk is coming out July sixteenth on Netflix. I
- 12:09Speaker 4: watched the trailer for it the other day. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:13Speaker 4: that's probably all I'll watch of it.
- 12:15Speaker 2: And how about this?
- 12:16Speaker 4: Garth Brooks is teasing something on his website. A mysterious
- 12:20Speaker 4: countdown clock has popped up on whatever it is garthbrooks
- 12:24Speaker 4: dot com.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I would imagine it.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Says the future is about to become history, and it
- 12:30Speaker 4: expires on Tuesday, July seventh, at seven am. Some people
- 12:35Speaker 4: are thinking a tour announcement, some people are thinking an
- 12:38Speaker 4: album announcement, but a lot of people are pointing to
- 12:41Speaker 4: another special edition box set from Garth Brooks because he
- 12:46Speaker 4: must be hurting for money.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Eh. Is anyone still buying CD box sets? Is that
- 12:52Speaker 2: still a thing?
- 12:53Speaker 5: No?
- 12:53Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 12:54Speaker 5: Now the younger generation has moved on to vinyl.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Like that's the thing that we've progressed even farther back.
- 13:00Speaker 6: Actually, nobody's buying CDs like yeah, is that?
- 13:04Speaker 4: I don't know if anyone needs a special edition box
- 13:07Speaker 4: set of Garth Brooks.
- 13:07Speaker 2: At this point.
- 13:08Speaker 5: He's not bringing back Chris Hines. Haines like that.
- 13:11Speaker 6: Haines that that was not okay, the one marketing move
- 13:15Speaker 6: he made that was not money.
- 13:17Speaker 2: What's the local stuff going on?
- 13:19Speaker 5: Okay?
- 13:19Speaker 6: Palisade peaches are early this year, really early. Even this
- 13:23Speaker 6: farmer says, so.
- 13:25Speaker 3: This is actually the earliest we've ever seen him as
- 13:27Speaker 3: far as we can remember, the past few years, we've
- 13:29Speaker 3: been getting them earlier than normal, but this year we're
- 13:31Speaker 3: about three to four weeks earlier. We never picked on
- 13:34Speaker 3: this early.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Oh, I arrive early all the time. What's the big
- 13:36Speaker 2: deal to it?
- 13:37Speaker 3: But what's the deal?
- 13:39Speaker 6: August is usually the start of peach season, But those
- 13:43Speaker 6: juicy babies, they're coming to us even earlier this year
- 13:45Speaker 6: because of the warm winter and everything else that we had.
- 13:49Speaker 6: That same farmer said, they're even having issues convincing people
- 13:53Speaker 6: that they're real palisade peaches because we know better. We're like,
- 13:56Speaker 6: those are imposter peaches because it's supposed to be August
- 13:59Speaker 6: is when we get at them. I was telling them, Josh, earlier,
- 14:02Speaker 6: I lived on a peach orchard, and there's nothing better
- 14:05Speaker 6: than walking out to the peach tree, grabbing a peach.
- 14:08Speaker 5: And eating it.
- 14:09Speaker 3: You're so spoiled, oh, so.
- 14:10Speaker 5: Spoiled, so spoiled.
- 14:11Speaker 6: But these people who bring them over from the Western Slope,
- 14:14Speaker 6: that's the next best thing. So you know, just make
- 14:17Speaker 6: sure you do your dude diligence. The farmers who do
- 14:20Speaker 6: like this this farmer wear, because you know your you know,
- 14:25Speaker 6: farmer's market, Like this farmer has been at the same
- 14:28Speaker 6: farmer's market for forty years.
- 14:30Speaker 5: So you just talk to the people.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Sticker, you know, visit a sticker. You don't go to
- 14:35Speaker 4: the booth or the guys like near Palisade Peace.
- 14:38Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 14:39Speaker 3: You don't go to that guy.
- 14:40Speaker 6: You probably don't want to stop off on the side
- 14:41Speaker 6: of the road with those trucks like they may be
- 14:43Speaker 6: trying to pull your leg.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Peach.
- 14:46Speaker 6: There's usually the same people who show up and they
- 14:49Speaker 6: know that they're from.
- 14:50Speaker 5: The Western Slope.
- 14:51Speaker 6: Here's my biggest concern, the trusted orchards out there.
- 14:54Speaker 5: You know, you know who it is.
- 14:55Speaker 4: That is my biggest concern of anything that has to
- 14:58Speaker 4: do with peaches, no matter where they're from.
- 15:00Speaker 5: What's up.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I don't like to be around.
- 15:01Speaker 4: People that eat peaches because it's disgusting.
- 15:04Speaker 2: That's what it is, the whole.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Juicy that's a juicy peach where it's running.
- 15:10Speaker 8: You know.
- 15:12Speaker 4: I don't want to be around anyone eats peaches or
- 15:15Speaker 4: slurp soup. Yeah, here's a little inside baseball for you.
- 15:19Speaker 4: I have a hard time listening to my wife in
- 15:21Speaker 4: the morning drink her morning coffee.
