- 0:23Speaker 2: twenty five issue WWE Flash in Paris Preview and Predictions

- 0:33Speaker 2: of the show. I am Jeff Peckner, typically joined by
- 0:36Speaker 2: my coast the only doctor Gray Franklin. I am writing
- 0:40Speaker 2: Shotgun once again, my friends, Welcome, one and all to
- 0:43Speaker 2: this week's edition of SR T You. Unfortunately, Doctor Trey
- 0:46Speaker 2: unable to make it to this week's edition the show,
- 0:50Speaker 2: as well as the Patreon exclusive show that we will
- 0:52Speaker 2: be doing that'll drop on Friday. Unfortunately, he had a
- 0:56Speaker 2: death in the family. His wife's grandfather passed away. We wish,
- 1:01Speaker 2: obviously he and his family all the best during these
- 1:05Speaker 2: tough times and let them know obviously that our thoughts
- 1:09Speaker 2: and prayers are with them. He did send over his
- 1:12Speaker 2: Clash in Paris predictions for the show, which is in
- 1:16Speaker 2: typical Doctor Trey fashion. But he is with the family
- 1:19Speaker 2: this week, and rightfully so that's where we want him
- 1:22Speaker 2: to be, is spending time with the family during these times.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Lots to discuss here on this week's dish of the
- 1:28Speaker 2: show will highlight everything from aw Forbidden, Dora NX, heat Wave,
- 1:32Speaker 2: the latest on Chris Jericho, some tough times for will Os,
- 1:36Speaker 2: Brace for Strickland, a match that make go Down is
- 1:41Speaker 2: like the greatest match in the history of this show,
- 1:44Speaker 2: and then we'll preview and predict w WE Clash in
- 1:47Speaker 2: Paris all on this week's edition of sr TU. I
- 1:50Speaker 2: would be remissed if I didn't mention patreon dot com
- 1:53Speaker 2: slash SRTU podcast. Thank you everybody who is a subscriber
- 1:56Speaker 2: and supporter of the show that way. That is a

- 2:10Speaker 2: the very first time, exclusive on Patreon, and that will
- 2:13Speaker 2: be fantasy booking a nine match WWWE versus AW card
- 2:19Speaker 2: without going completely Champion versus Champion route if you were okay,
- 2:23Speaker 2: if we'd like to and that came to us from
- 2:26Speaker 2: subscriber over at Patreon, good friend EJ. Reid. We'll be
- 2:29Speaker 2: doing that up over at patreon dot com Slash SRTU
- 2:32Speaker 2: podcast that will be dropping on Friday over at the
- 2:36Speaker 2: Patreon page so go subscribe support SRTU. With that said,
- 2:41Speaker 2: let's get into Forbidden Door. Some of the highlights from
- 2:44Speaker 2: the show. It was a record breaking crowd at the
- 2:46Speaker 2: O two Arena with nearly nineteen thousand fans. The lights
- 2:49Speaker 2: out Steak Steel Cage main event saw Darby, Allen, Osprey,
- 2:53Speaker 2: Tana Hashing, the Golden Levers, beating Moxley's Death Riders and
- 2:56Speaker 2: the Young Bucks. The postmatch Attack wrote all off will
- 3:00Speaker 2: ospray for surgery. We will cover that in a little bit.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Hangman out of page retains against the retained the AW
- 3:06Speaker 2: World title against MJF in a gritty fashion because it's go.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Katta retains the United Unitified Unified title over ser Strickland.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Tony Storm retains the women's settle over Athena Brodido shocked
- 3:20Speaker 2: the world and win the AW Attack Team Championship. We
- 3:22Speaker 2: had big surprises Wardlow returning align with the Don Calls family,
- 3:25Speaker 2: Jamie Hayder returning to a huge pop, and then some
- 3:28Speaker 2: takeaways down Coll's family continues to dominate the Death Riders.
- 3:33Speaker 2: They are creating chaos. Hangman's raid remains strong and now
- 3:36Speaker 2: Osprey's absence looms large. We will delve very deep into
- 3:41Speaker 2: that will Osprey injury and surgery in just a little bit.
- 3:45Speaker 2: But another very solid performance from all the wrestling forbidden
- 3:49Speaker 2: to her this past Sunday. I have been very, very
- 3:52Speaker 2: happy with the AW product as of late. Loved the
- 3:57Speaker 2: Dynamite at twenty three hundred Arena AKAW Arena this past Wednesday.
- 4:04Speaker 2: That is the closest setup I've seen to an actual
- 4:07Speaker 2: like ECW arena type setup, and I'm almost positive Tony
- 4:12Speaker 2: Kahn did that purposely because he is an ECW fan.
- 4:16Speaker 2: He mentions, you know, he went to an ECW show
- 4:18Speaker 2: way back in the day, and I grew up on ECW.
- 4:22Speaker 2: It was really cool to see really great arena, a
- 4:27Speaker 2: totally different viewer experience than the one that we saw
- 4:31Speaker 2: almost a year ago when NXT was there. That NXT
- 4:34Speaker 2: show and the twenty three hundred arena did not have
- 4:36Speaker 2: the same energy and juice and look and feel as
- 4:38Speaker 2: the AW show did. I like that AW is just
- 4:42Speaker 2: putting their head down and just working and doing good shows.
- 4:47Speaker 2: That's the type of AW I like. I don't like
- 4:49Speaker 2: the AW that gets into the weeds and they got
- 4:51Speaker 2: to like battle stuff on the internet or wage war
- 4:55Speaker 2: with we That type of stuff is not for me.
- 4:58Speaker 2: We've talked about it on the PODCAS. I like that
- 5:01Speaker 2: they're just kind of hull hum aligning themselves while Wwey's
- 5:04Speaker 2: being dicks and like putting their shows on at the
- 5:06Speaker 2: same time as them. With NXC heat Wave that was
- 5:09Speaker 2: took place over the weekend, They're doing with the rest
- 5:11Speaker 2: of Palooza next month, and that's what I'd like to see.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I would just prefer that each one of these wrestling
- 5:17Speaker 2: promotions just kind of stay in their own lane. And
- 5:20Speaker 2: you know, as I was watching the show on Sunday
- 5:23Speaker 2: and then carried over on Wednesday, Mike Man AW has
- 5:26Speaker 2: had some really good stretches here. I think the only
- 5:29Speaker 2: period of time that I was like, I'm concerned AW
- 5:32Speaker 2: is getting back into their rough patch was when they
- 5:37Speaker 2: did those shows after all in where it looked for
- 5:41Speaker 2: anybody who is a Disney World fan hopefully you get
- 5:43Speaker 2: this reference. If not, look up the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot,
- 5:49Speaker 2: and it looked like they were performing in like the
- 5:53Speaker 2: Mexico Pavilion in Epcot or the Germany Pavilion in Epcott.
- 5:56Speaker 2: It looked like they were It was the shows in
- 5:59Speaker 2: Choko where it looked like they were performing at like
- 6:04Speaker 2: I don't know, like with those like dinners, everybody goes
- 6:08Speaker 2: around and the nights perform and they are on horses
- 6:11Speaker 2: and one side wins and all that crap. I can't
- 6:13Speaker 2: really think of it at the moment, like that's what
- 6:15Speaker 2: it looked medieval times. That's what it is. It looks
- 6:18Speaker 2: like a medieval times venue. They were performing them like
- 6:21Speaker 2: this is not a good look, and they had a
- 6:23Speaker 2: couple of stretches where collisions were not good. But they've
- 6:26Speaker 2: been on a really good swing and I'm excited to
- 6:28Speaker 2: see where collision lands at the twenty one three hundred arena.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I dig that they're doing these residencies. I like that
- 6:36Speaker 2: they got back to smaller crowds, smaller venues because when
- 6:39Speaker 2: they were doing the larger crowds, when there wasn't a
- 6:41Speaker 2: lot of fans in attendance, it was very visibly noticeable
- 6:44Speaker 2: and the crowd reactions were awful. This is a little
- 6:47Speaker 2: bit better cup of tea for me as a fan.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I don't think aw ever reaches the heights of we
- 6:52Speaker 2: and that is totally fine. I think they're probably like
- 6:55Speaker 2: a step or two above like a TNA where they
- 6:58Speaker 2: have the financial backing and they have like really solid
- 7:01Speaker 2: star power to carry them and good relationships like New Japan.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It's basically doing like the two thousands TNA better than
- 7:09Speaker 2: TNA did, and that's okay. There is a certainly a
- 7:13Speaker 2: spot for that as well. So very solid weekend with
- 7:17Speaker 2: Forbidden Door, Love the shows at the twenty three hundred
- 7:19Speaker 2: Arena and I'm looking forward to more and just continues
- 7:22Speaker 2: a really really good swing for aw as of late.
- 7:27Speaker 2: As for NXC heat Wave, which also came from a
- 7:29Speaker 2: Neworker Wrestling Navino Arena in Lowell, Massachusetts, you had Obafemi
- 7:33Speaker 2: defeating Javon Evans to retain the NXT Championship. Then he
- 7:37Speaker 2: was confronted by Ricky Saints post match, and how Ricky
- 7:39Speaker 2: Saints is their rolling contender. Lolavice wins Summer Rock Contenders
- 7:42Speaker 2: match for the NXT Women's title. Dark Safety Throne hankin
- 7:45Speaker 2: Tech to become the new NXC Tech Team champions. Ashby
- 7:49Speaker 2: Elegance wins the TNA Knockout title in a walld trip
- 7:51Speaker 2: with Threat, also with a controversial finish. Blake Monroe beats
- 7:55Speaker 2: Jordan Grace in a brutal undercard war, Chelsea Greeneathan Page
- 7:59Speaker 2: pick up a mixed tag win with outside help, and
- 8:01Speaker 2: there's some rumblings that this act may carry over to
- 8:04Speaker 2: the Man Roster, which I'm excited for Ethan Page, very
- 8:06Speaker 2: talented guy. And then it just some cross brand buzz. Obviously,
- 8:10Speaker 2: the TENNA Knockouts Championship was featured in an NXT show,
- 8:13Speaker 2: showing the WATNA partnership in action and rightfully putting the
- 8:17Speaker 2: title back on a t and a talent, which is
- 8:20Speaker 2: where it should be. I don't know, disrespect to Trick
- 8:22Speaker 2: Williams and j C Jane, I don't know if they've
- 8:25Speaker 2: elevated the title and or elevated the title and pass
- 8:28Speaker 2: sense for JC Jane. I think putting the champions on
- 8:31Speaker 2: the brand, on the NXT brand and giving them the
- 8:34Speaker 2: spotlights has certainly helped elevate people's awareness for TNA. So
- 8:39Speaker 2: I thought XAL heat Wave was a very like solid
- 8:41Speaker 2: NXC show. It was just a little over the two
- 8:43Speaker 2: hour mark. I didn't think it was anything special. I
- 8:46Speaker 2: didn't think it was anything bad. I just thought it
- 8:48Speaker 2: was a very very solid show and not as comparably
- 8:54Speaker 2: entertaining and as fun as Forbidden Door was which had
- 8:58Speaker 2: a little bit more pay per view feel given them
- 9:00Speaker 2: the arena they were in and the attendance that they had,
- 9:03Speaker 2: while NXC Heat Wave again was just like this special
- 9:06Speaker 2: Satura or Sunday night edition of NXC Television in Lowell, Massachusetts.
- 9:12Speaker 2: So solid weekend of wrestling. Highly recommend anybody who has
- 9:16Speaker 2: Knock Gone Out and watch either show to check it out.
- 9:19Speaker 2: There's obviously tons of good, not a lot of bad,
- 9:22Speaker 2: and it was just a fun weekend for wrestling fans. Again,
- 9:27Speaker 2: I'd prefer that nxt W does not run the same
- 9:30Speaker 2: weekends as AW. I think there is plenty to go
- 9:33Speaker 2: around and there is no need to put counter programming on.
- 9:38Speaker 2: I can enjoy all of them, folks, so let's set
- 9:42Speaker 2: the tribalism bullshit. We have an update to the story
- 9:46Speaker 2: where sources expect Chris Jerico have signed a w deal
- 9:49Speaker 2: when his AW contract finishes. After we'd recorded the podcast
- 9:52Speaker 2: last week, Wressell Votes reported that there is a significant
- 9:55Speaker 2: amount of interest in Chris Jerico returning w when his
- 9:57Speaker 2: AW contract comes up, with several in W, including active wrestlers,
- 10:02Speaker 2: wanting him to return. A source expects AWE deal to
- 10:05Speaker 2: be completed for him when his AW contract finishes. When
- 10:08Speaker 2: wressell votes speaks, everybody listens, and that is basically gospel.
- 10:13Speaker 2: So I fully expect that Chris Jericho will be returning
- 10:17Speaker 2: to World Wrestling Entertainment in twenty twenty six, which is
- 10:20Speaker 2: mind blowing. And I know Tony Kahn had some comments
- 10:22Speaker 2: on the conference call for Roh Death before dishonor where
- 10:27Speaker 2: he said something, if he has the opportunity to work
- 10:29Speaker 2: with like Chris Jericho again, he would love to, so
- 10:34Speaker 2: kind of foreshadowing maybe or not really answering the question,
- 10:38Speaker 2: but nonetheless rust of Bote saying he is WWE bound,
- 10:42Speaker 2: which is basically slam dunk. Folks rest and observers reporting
- 10:45Speaker 2: that the only thing heard from w W regarding Chris
- 10:47Speaker 2: Jericho is that they expect him to come back to
- 10:49Speaker 2: the company. They also report that there are those in
- 10:52Speaker 2: AW who believe that Chris Jericho is not going to
- 10:54Speaker 2: be back and will start in w as a royal
- 10:56Speaker 2: rumble surprise. So you have like the BESTE source in
- 11:01Speaker 2: wrestle boats saying that Chris Jericho is w bound, and
- 11:04Speaker 2: you have the best AW source in Wrestling Reserver newsletter
- 11:08Speaker 2: Dave Meltzer saying that AW expects him to go to WE.
- 11:11Speaker 2: So here we are August twenty eighth. I would expect
- 11:15Speaker 2: come late January early February twenty twenty six. Chris Jericho
- 11:18Speaker 2: is back in w W, which is mind blowing. I
- 11:22Speaker 2: think we really dug into it last week about how
- 11:25Speaker 2: I never thought I would see this happen at best
- 11:27Speaker 2: maybe w Hall of Famer induction. I did not think
- 11:30Speaker 2: Chris Jericho would wrestle a match again, And here here
- 11:34Speaker 2: we are, and it's just now, how do they book
- 11:37Speaker 2: him basically with the talent roster they have? I mean,
- 11:43Speaker 2: who do you look at as someone that would fit
- 11:45Speaker 2: the mold as having that Christ Jericho match, because he's
- 11:48Speaker 2: going to have a match at WrestleMania that's here in
- 11:51Speaker 2: Las Vegas. Here he'd returned to the company. Is it
- 11:54Speaker 2: seth Rollins? Probably not Gunther? That would be pretty interesting.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I may be here for all that with a Gunther match.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Would a Roman reigned Jericho match do it? For me?
- 12:07Speaker 1: No?
- 12:07Speaker 2: Punk Jericho? No, unless they kind of can talk about
- 12:10Speaker 2: the AW stuff, which why would they talk about AW
- 12:13Speaker 2: stuff in a WE angle? Would they do Jericho Cody?
- 12:18Speaker 2: Maybe it's kind of a bummer because I think Jericho
- 12:22Speaker 2: is coming back to WE like a year or two late,
- 12:24Speaker 2: because I would have loved to see in Jericho Seena
- 12:27Speaker 2: match one last time. They had a really really good
- 12:29Speaker 2: feud in the late two thousands that helped put scene
- 12:32Speaker 2: on the map like an six seven ish timeframe when
- 12:35Speaker 2: Jericho started doing that really great heel run where he
- 12:38Speaker 2: didn't like pulled all of his merchandise, barely spoke all
- 12:41Speaker 2: that much and it was very monotone, had a great
- 12:44Speaker 2: feud with the seaw Michaels, a match with Shaw Michaels
- 12:47Speaker 2: and Allata match at No Mercy. So yeah, it's just like, okay, cool,
- 12:52Speaker 2: Jericho's back. But what does he got to do? Does
- 12:56Speaker 2: he want to help out in NXC, does he want
- 12:58Speaker 2: to commentate? Is he doing this for his Hollywood ambitions?
- 13:03Speaker 2: I would love to know And I can't wait to
- 13:06Speaker 2: read the book someday as to why Chris Jericho decided
- 13:08Speaker 2: now is the time to leave AW and go back
- 13:12Speaker 2: to WWE, because he was like adamant that he would
- 13:14Speaker 2: not return to w and AW was the place to
- 13:16Speaker 2: bay for him. So some very very very credible sources
- 13:21Speaker 2: adding some more fuel to the fire. That is Chris
- 13:23Speaker 2: Jericho expected to sign AW once his AW contract finishes
- 13:27Speaker 2: this year, which is obviously earth shadowing news. I don't
- 13:31Speaker 2: think it hurts AW at all. I think the AW
- 13:33Speaker 2: product he hasn't been around for four or five months
- 13:36Speaker 2: now already. I don't think they're hurting without him. I
- 13:39Speaker 2: think the direction of AW has certainly changed, and it's
- 13:41Speaker 2: totally fine with it. I'm fine with it, and Jericho
- 13:44Speaker 2: ending his career in WE I am fine with as well.
- 13:47Speaker 2: So I think it's a great move all around for
- 13:48Speaker 2: all promotions. I think it's a great move for Chris
- 13:50Speaker 2: Jericho as well. As it would appear, this is going
- 13:53Speaker 2: to be something really to keep an eye out for
- 13:55Speaker 2: in twenty twenty six of Chris Jericho returning to World
- 14:00Speaker 2: Wrestling Entertainment. Now in regard to subtractions from the AW
- 14:05Speaker 2: roster that I think that are going to hit the
- 14:07Speaker 2: company very, very hard. That is will Ospray and Swerve
- 14:12Speaker 2: Strickland's recent injuries. It could not have come at a
- 14:17Speaker 2: worse time, so will Ospray. They obviously wrote him off
- 14:21Speaker 2: at the end of for Benden Door. He is due
- 14:22Speaker 2: for next surgery. He could be out I'm reading for
- 14:26Speaker 2: potentially over a year, like anywhere between between twelve to
- 14:31Speaker 2: fifteen months, and Swarve Strickland had They also wrote him
- 14:35Speaker 2: off at for benin Door with the chair shots from
- 14:37Speaker 2: Cazichio Coatta to his knee. He has been battling a
- 14:40Speaker 2: torn meniscus reportedly since twenty nineteen when he was performing
- 14:43Speaker 2: at the WA Performance Center and has been working ever since,
- 14:46Speaker 2: and now is time to get that repaired. He had surgery.
- 14:50Speaker 2: He posted that on his Instagram story on Wednesday. His
- 14:54Speaker 2: knee wrapped up coming out of meniscus surgery. So I
- 14:59Speaker 2: don't know how long that may take, maybe three to
- 15:01Speaker 2: six months, but we're going like the rest of this
- 15:03Speaker 2: year now without will ospraying sort of Strickland, who are
- 15:10Speaker 2: definitely my top five favorite people to watch in AW.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I think I really enjoy watching Osprey, Strickland, Hangman, MJF.
- 15:22Speaker 2: And I would probably say right now, Mark Burscow, I'm
- 15:25Speaker 2: all in on the Mark Briscoe stuff. Would love to
- 15:28Speaker 2: see more of Darby, big fan of Darby, but he's
- 15:31Speaker 2: just kind of getting his way back into the day
- 15:33Speaker 2: to day regular operations that is AW. I thought what
- 15:38Speaker 2: I loved what AW has been doing lately, and this
- 15:40Speaker 2: is something I've been really was like banging the desk
- 15:42Speaker 2: on last year when they were when they changed direction
- 15:45Speaker 2: and got away from really focusing on the people that
- 15:50Speaker 2: the fans had connections with, and that is Osprey, Swerve
- 15:53Speaker 2: and Hangman. No wrestlers have better connections than those three,
- 15:58Speaker 2: I feel like from the AW standpoint, and also they
- 16:01Speaker 2: were dealing with like MGF was out with injury at
- 16:03Speaker 2: that point, Adam Colehead his injury issues. It was just very,
- 16:06Speaker 2: very bad. So now they've been on this upswing, Ospray
- 16:09Speaker 2: and Swerve had been playing major roles in that upswing,
- 16:12Speaker 2: and now here we are that at least for one
- 16:15Speaker 2: of them, it's going to be potentially considerable amount of
- 16:17Speaker 2: time and no estimated timetable on Swarb Strickland, And it
- 16:20Speaker 2: could not come at a worse time because they are
- 16:25Speaker 2: they have so much momentum, really good storylines right now,
- 16:30Speaker 2: and even the stuff that we're seeing presently, it's like,
- 16:35Speaker 2: what does AW do in the situation and who steps
- 16:38Speaker 2: up in their absence? Do we see an Orange Cassidy
- 16:41Speaker 2: to return who is just as over Babyface? Do they
- 16:45Speaker 2: give Kyle Fletcher more opportunity to run with the ball.
- 16:48Speaker 2: We're seeing Kenny omegaback on television. More do we see
- 16:51Speaker 2: Kenoshki Takeshka leave the don Kallis family. Don Kallis kind
- 16:55Speaker 2: of sides more with cause it's go kata between the
- 16:58Speaker 2: two because there's some tension between those guys right now,
- 17:00Speaker 2: which make a ton of sense. I think Takeshka would
- 17:02Speaker 2: be a super over babyface. My guess is that aw
- 17:07Speaker 2: as a plan as they should, right duh. But I
- 17:10Speaker 2: think that they knew that this was coming and they
- 17:13Speaker 2: needed to start to ramp up some new babyfaces for
- 17:18Speaker 2: the promotion to really focus on. Because right now you've
- 17:20Speaker 2: got Hangman page with don Kallis family in there in
- 17:24Speaker 2: his cross He is in their crossairs right now, and
- 17:27Speaker 2: there are so many people to choose from. Would they
- 17:29Speaker 2: do Okata Hangman at all Out? I don't think so.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Would they do Katashka Takeshka versus Hangman at all Out?
- 17:37Speaker 2: That's a possibility. Takeshka goes in then to the g one.
- 17:40Speaker 2: If you say he wins and he takes on Zach
- 17:42Speaker 2: Saber Junior Champion versus champion to cash in on his
- 17:46Speaker 2: g one climax victory in that October event that would
- 17:51Speaker 2: be something. Then it's like, would they do Kyle Fletcher?
- 17:55Speaker 2: Probably not, would be my guess. And then outside of that,
- 17:59Speaker 2: there's a little bit drop off very talented stars. You've
- 18:02Speaker 2: got Lance Archer, You've got Josh Alexander, Like, do we
- 18:07Speaker 2: go to the Wardlow route? Because now Wardlow's like acting
- 18:09Speaker 2: as a bodyguard someone how he did as mjf's bodyguard
- 18:13Speaker 2: with Don Callis so far, so it's like, okay, who
- 18:18Speaker 2: really steps up? Do they shift Darby into one of
- 18:21Speaker 2: those Ospring sort of Strickland spots? I would guess so
- 18:25Speaker 2: as they should, because he's the guy that you could market.
- 18:28Speaker 2: And then it's kind of a little bit of an
- 18:31Speaker 2: interesting situation again, do you bring back Orange Cassidy? Is
- 18:35Speaker 2: Orange Cassidy is ready to come back from his injury? One?
- 18:38Speaker 2: Do you turn someone babyface? I would turn Kenoska to
- 18:40Speaker 2: Keshka babyface right now with a little bit of spots
- 18:43Speaker 2: open Copeland and Christian they're doing their thing right now.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Do you you know, maybe bump up Bobby Lashley and
- 18:49Speaker 2: the hurt Sydy Kit now that they've dropped the tag
- 18:51Speaker 2: team titles, and you have Bobby in the title picture.
- 18:53Speaker 2: He's super over with the fans. It's very very interesting,
- 18:58Speaker 2: and this is gonna be very telling to how well
- 19:02Speaker 2: AW does towards the end of the year, because I
- 19:04Speaker 2: always feel like they have this false swoon where it
- 19:08Speaker 2: has felt like the last two years at least, AW
- 19:11Speaker 2: has had like a considerable drop off following all in,
- 19:15Speaker 2: following all out, where the product just is not as
- 19:18Speaker 2: good as it was like four months prior. They run
- 19:22Speaker 2: into this path where like from what is it Dynasty
- 19:28Speaker 2: is really really good to all in or all out,
- 19:32Speaker 2: and then Wrestle Dream happens in October and that's like
- 19:36Speaker 2: the beginning of like a swoon for a little bit
- 19:38Speaker 2: where maybe it's three, four or five months where it's
- 19:41Speaker 2: not as good. I will say, last year they did
- 19:43Speaker 2: the residency at the Hammerstein, and I love the shows
- 19:47Speaker 2: that they did there for Dynamite Collision and even Rampage
- 19:50Speaker 2: when they shut Rampage down. So it's frustrating as an
- 19:55Speaker 2: AW fan. I'm frustrated for AW as a company because
- 19:58Speaker 2: everything has been so good right now and theoretically coming
- 20:01Speaker 2: out Forbidden Door, coming out of all In, heading it
- 20:04Speaker 2: all out, Osprey and Swerve should be at the top
- 20:06Speaker 2: of that card. I mean, that's that's where they should be.
- 20:09Speaker 2: They should be either Vine for the A to W
- 20:11Speaker 2: World Championship somehow in a babyface versus baby face feud
- 20:13Speaker 2: with Hangman out of page, or feud with some major
- 20:16Speaker 2: heels that aren't in the world title picture with Hangman
- 20:19Speaker 2: Page at that point, do they you know, it looks
- 20:21Speaker 2: like MJFT is gonna shift with Mark Briscow. Mark Burscow,
- 20:24Speaker 2: I think, is someone that they can really have step
- 20:27Speaker 2: up in the absence of the top baby faces. Do
- 20:30Speaker 2: you put like Osprey taken on because it's go Okada
- 20:34Speaker 2: or Swerve you know continue uses for a feud with Okada.
- 20:38Speaker 2: It's uh, it sucks. It really sucks. As a fantasy,
- 20:41Speaker 2: this happened because Ospray and Swerve for some of the
- 20:44Speaker 2: hard and soul guys of all lead wrestling, and hopefully
- 20:48Speaker 2: see them back sooner rather than later. I would expect
- 20:51Speaker 2: Swerve back sooner rather than later. I am concerned about
- 20:53Speaker 2: will Ospray. I mean, I think it's possible that even
- 20:56Speaker 2: a year from now, will Ospray is either on the shelf,
- 20:59Speaker 2: or we're starting to still or we're starting to hear
- 21:01Speaker 2: ramp ups of when he may return. I just have
- 21:06Speaker 2: a tough time believing that with a neck surgery injury
- 21:10Speaker 2: that he unless they're working us, he comes back anytime
- 21:13Speaker 2: before a year. So tough tough times there, and hopefully
- 21:19Speaker 2: aw can take these bumps in the road and continue
- 21:21Speaker 2: their great momentum because they have been an absolute joy
- 21:24Speaker 2: to watch as of late. I saw earlier this week
- 21:28Speaker 2: that Bailey and Sasha Banks aka Mercedes my Name, we're
- 21:31Speaker 2: celebrating the ten year anniversary of their match at NXC
- 21:35Speaker 2: Takeover Brooklyn, which to me is one of the greatest
- 21:40Speaker 2: matches we've ever covered in the show, maybe the greatest match.
- 21:45Speaker 2: I think it is that steamboat Savage match that kind
- 21:50Speaker 2: of open up the doors and eyes to women's wrestling
- 21:53Speaker 2: on a greater level. I point to a twenty fourteen
- 21:57Speaker 2: NXT Women's Championship Tournament when I want Charlotte and Natalia
- 22:01Speaker 2: as a match that was like, oh shit, they could
- 22:03Speaker 2: do this, And then I felt like in twenty fifteen,
- 22:07Speaker 2: Bailey and Sasha took a tone on the level and
- 22:11Speaker 2: it's rare, especially nowadays. I feel like that you feel
- 22:15Speaker 2: being immersed in the action, like legitimately immersed from your
- 22:19Speaker 2: living room where you could sit down and you're watching
- 22:21Speaker 2: the match, and you are living and breathing and dying
- 22:25Speaker 2: with every move and every moment and every little situation
- 22:28Speaker 2: that happens, the ebbs and flows of the match, where
- 22:32Speaker 2: you kind of go into this different world, in this
- 22:34Speaker 2: different dimension, this different universe as you're just enjoying what
- 22:38Speaker 2: you are watching on your television, and this match brought
- 22:41Speaker 2: it for me. There's like a handful of times that's happened.
- 22:44Speaker 2: I remember Kevin Owens Johnsen a match when Owens came
- 22:47Speaker 2: up from NXT to take on Johnson as the NXC champion.
- 22:51Speaker 2: That was one of those matches where I'm like, I
- 22:52Speaker 2: can't believe this just happened, where Owens won because I
- 22:55Speaker 2: was such a huge and still am huge Kevin Stein
- 22:57Speaker 2: Kevin Owens fan. This is that match as well. Great build,
- 23:03Speaker 2: great storytelling, emotional, and they had the fans on the
- 23:06Speaker 2: palm of their hands. If for whatever reason, you have
- 23:10Speaker 2: never seen this match, One you're not a real Rustling fan.
- 23:14Speaker 2: What's wrong with you? And two, immediately pause this recording
- 23:17Speaker 2: and go watch this match right now, because it still
- 23:21Speaker 2: holds up to today. Its influence on women's wrestling in
- 23:25Speaker 2: w and AW took it to the next level where
- 23:29Speaker 2: I can safely say in twenty twenty five, I think
- 23:32Speaker 2: the women's division in both companies is my most favorite
- 23:36Speaker 2: thing to watch because the roster for both women's side
- 23:40Speaker 2: is so deep that it's amazing to see the talent
- 23:43Speaker 2: in both W and AW, and then the quality of
- 23:48Speaker 2: matches the women are putting on each and every week
- 23:51Speaker 2: Raw SmackDown, Dynamite Collision is so really good. Like w's
- 23:56Speaker 2: women's roster and NXC I want to mention as well,
- 24:00Speaker 2: like it's almost established as a franchise. You're like, this
- 24:05Speaker 2: is a franchise of excellence WWE's women's division. To me,
- 24:11Speaker 2: it feels like aw's women's division is like on this
- 24:14Speaker 2: really good trajectory in upswing where you're starting to see
- 24:17Speaker 2: some top level talent Athena, Tony Storm, Mercedes Monet, and
- 24:23Speaker 2: then you have this underbelly of women that you could
- 24:26Speaker 2: see really carrying the division in a moment's known as
- 24:30Speaker 2: Chris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, The Triangle of Madness, Julie Hart,
- 24:35Speaker 2: Tekla Sky Blue, Love Watching Them, Mega Baine, Penelope Ford,
- 24:42Speaker 2: Ty Mellow. It's it's a who's who of future stars
- 24:48Speaker 2: in the women's division that has me really excited for
- 24:50Speaker 2: the AW women's division and where it's going to go.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I think they need to continue to creating the stars.
- 24:55Speaker 2: And it's like watching NXT in twenty fifteen when you
- 24:59Speaker 2: could see the of the card for NXC and where
- 25:02Speaker 2: the rest of the card was coming up, and you
- 25:04Speaker 2: were like, Okay, I could totally see in a year's
- 25:06Speaker 2: time Chris stat Lander or Willow Nightingale being the women's
- 25:10Speaker 2: champion AW and I would be totally game end down
- 25:13Speaker 2: for it. And I think a lot of that came
- 25:16Speaker 2: to fruition thanks to this match. I think this is
- 25:21Speaker 2: in the timeline of matches and women's matches and moments
- 25:24Speaker 2: that really stand the test of time of like, Okay,
- 25:27Speaker 2: when was this a paradigm shift?
- 25:29Speaker 1: What was it?
- 25:30Speaker 2: Four five oh six? The tris Stratus lead a steel
- 25:34Speaker 2: cage match that main evented Monday Night Raw for the
- 25:36Speaker 2: first time is one of those matches. It's not necessarily
- 25:39Speaker 2: remembered as like this earth Shadowing an amazing five star
- 25:42Speaker 2: match classic that they had, but it's a match that
- 25:46Speaker 2: transcended time and helped elevate women to the next level
- 25:50Speaker 2: because now here they are for the first time ever
- 25:52Speaker 2: main eventing Monday Night Raw, and that was special. I
- 25:57Speaker 2: would throw in the Charlotte's Italian match, TI you I
- 26:00Speaker 2: manage in twenty fourteen. I think it was like it
- 26:02Speaker 2: wasn't a NXT arrival, it was like NXT Fatal four
- 26:06Speaker 2: way or whatever they had at that point. That to
- 26:10Speaker 2: me was like a very telling moment in time where
- 26:16Speaker 2: that's where I got the realization on it. And I'm
- 26:18Speaker 2: like one of the few that actually like talks about
- 26:20Speaker 2: that match. That's not one that you see as one
- 26:23Speaker 2: that people point to and go, well, this match helped
- 26:25Speaker 2: elevate the women's division, and I really think it should.
- 26:27Speaker 2: They both had I had Brett hard in one corner,
- 26:30Speaker 2: Charlotte obviously had Rick Flair, and it was a tournament
- 26:33Speaker 2: final and it blew my mind. But this match, obviously
- 26:37Speaker 2: from the NXT men's division, is like the one it's
- 26:42Speaker 2: It's like if Steve Bone and Savage helped put WrestleMania
- 26:44Speaker 2: on the map as like some really good in ring
- 26:46Speaker 2: Matt classics, this is what this did for women's wrestling
- 26:49Speaker 2: and ww AA. It's amazing to see where they are
- 26:53Speaker 2: now in their careers. When Mercedes Monet is nine Belts Monet,
- 26:56Speaker 2: she is dominating all lead wrestling. Selfishly, I miss in WI.
- 27:03Speaker 2: The aw character really hasn't transcended with me well as
- 27:07Speaker 2: much as the old Boss character from WWE did. And
- 27:10Speaker 2: then Bailey's like in this weird little transitional phase where
- 27:14Speaker 2: I'm really digging the vignettes that've been Aaron on RAW lately.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I'm intrigued to see where her character goes. Where you've
- 27:19Speaker 2: got Ding Dong Bailey and Hugger Bailey arguing with one another.
- 27:23Speaker 2: I would love to see Hugger Bailey back here. And
- 27:25Speaker 2: we are ten years later from this match, but they
- 27:28Speaker 2: are staples. They are first ballot Hall of Famers for
- 27:31Speaker 2: professional wrestling, for women's wrestling, they are some of the
- 27:35Speaker 2: greatest of all time. And this is I don't think
- 27:41Speaker 2: there's been a women's match, but it's been close to it.
- 27:43Speaker 2: I think every other women's match like from this point forward,
- 27:46Speaker 2: whether it be WAWTNA, NXT, what have you, this is
- 27:51Speaker 2: the match that you compared to. Yeah, Rhya, Charlotte was
- 27:54Speaker 2: really really good from WrestleMania forty one in LA. How
- 28:00Speaker 2: did it compare to Bailey Sasha Banks from NXC Takeover,
- 28:04Speaker 2: Tiberstny Storm and statis one. A was really good from
- 28:07Speaker 2: all in, but how does it compare to Bailey and
- 28:09Speaker 2: Sasha Banks from NXC Takeover. So's it's amazing here we
- 28:14Speaker 2: are ten years later. I think it's top three, maybe
- 28:18Speaker 2: number one, greatest match we've ever covered here in the
- 28:20Speaker 2: history of the show due to the impact and how
- 28:22Speaker 2: great of a match it was, and it really really
- 28:26Speaker 2: changed the game for women's wrestler. I think at this point,
- 28:28Speaker 2: the only thing that's left standing, and I'm glad that
- 28:31Speaker 2: this is getting some traction and momentum, is that it's
- 28:33Speaker 2: time for an AW pay per view to be headlined
- 28:35Speaker 2: by a women's match. So I feel like that is
- 28:39Speaker 2: another thing that needs to come off the checklist because
- 28:41Speaker 2: as it should. Tim of Tony Storm is one of
- 28:45Speaker 2: your most over and entertaining people on your entire roster
- 28:49Speaker 2: right now, and she's a female, so it doesn't really matter.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Doesn't always have to be a AW Champion of match
- 28:56Speaker 2: or a brutal, violent match Tony all the time. Give
- 28:59Speaker 2: it to telling this Tony Storm. Have a main event
- 29:02Speaker 2: with Mercedes again, maybe even do a trouble threat with Aena,
- 29:04Speaker 2: because I think those three women deserve that right to
- 29:07Speaker 2: be the three that are involved in that an eventual
- 29:11Speaker 2: main event match for an aw pay per view. With
- 29:15Speaker 2: that said, let's transition over to a preview for an
- 29:18Speaker 2: upcoming pay per view which takes place this Sunday, and
- 29:22Speaker 2: I'm going to butcher this, so bear with me. Perrie
- 29:25Speaker 2: la Defense Arena in Natier, France. I feel like I
- 29:30Speaker 2: like put like a little Hispanic spin on that. I'm
- 29:32Speaker 2: a kid that did not take French. I took Spanish
- 29:34Speaker 2: in school. Maybe that's why I sound like I have
- 29:37Speaker 2: broken French. It comes to us this Sunday and it's
- 29:40Speaker 2: w Clash in Paris, the first ever time the WWE
- 29:44Speaker 2: Clash in Paris is taking place. They are in Leon,
- 29:47Speaker 2: France this Friday for SmackDown. The French crowds have been
- 29:51Speaker 2: some of the best crowds that w has ever performed
- 29:54Speaker 2: in front of Leon, France, especially. I am pumped up
- 29:59Speaker 2: for the show. Backlash France was incredible. That crowd was
- 30:04Speaker 2: amazing and I hope the French absolutely bring it on
- 30:07Speaker 2: Friday SmackDown and on Sunday at Clash in Paris, and
- 30:10Speaker 2: I fully expect them to so really look good forward
- 30:13Speaker 2: to it from a crowd standpoint. Now let's get into
- 30:17Speaker 2: the breakdown of the show here, and Doctor Trey did
- 30:20Speaker 2: send in his prediction. So we have Seamus versus Russev
- 30:22Speaker 2: in a gold a good old fashioned Donnie Brook match,
- 30:25Speaker 2: and both of us have Russev in this one. I
- 30:27Speaker 2: am super excited and stoke that these guys are getting
- 30:29Speaker 2: there an opportunity to perform on the pl They've had
- 30:32Speaker 2: some really good solid matches on raw as of lee
- 30:35Speaker 2: and it's nice to see Shamus and Russo some really
- 30:37Speaker 2: good soldiers to we getting some PL exp exposure this
- 30:41Speaker 2: Sunday in Paris, France. Excuse me in France. It's on Paris, France.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Next match here is Becky Lynch defending against Nikki Bella
- 30:49Speaker 2: for the WA Women's Intercomental Championship A. Both Doctor Trey
- 30:51Speaker 2: and I have Becky Lynch in this one, really solid bild.
- 30:54Speaker 2: There is no better character in all of us. And
- 30:57Speaker 2: again here we are again promoting the women's division. Induty.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Then the heel man character big time Becks was all right.
- 31:08Speaker 2: The man as a heel is the best. The man
- 31:11Speaker 2: is a big face it's all right, but the heel
- 31:14Speaker 2: man version of Becky Lynch is the absolute best. And
- 31:18Speaker 2: really looking forward to this one on Sunday Clash in
- 31:20Speaker 2: Pairs between Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella. Next match here
- 31:25Speaker 2: is Roman Reigns taking on Bronson Reid. Super happy and
- 31:29Speaker 2: excited for Bronson Reid to be in the spot. He
- 31:31Speaker 2: is a very enjoyable character and performer in the ring.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Love watching Bronson Reid. But he will fall to the
- 31:37Speaker 2: tribal chief. The tribal thief will fall to the tribal chief.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Roman Reigns in this one and just added some more
- 31:43Speaker 2: context here. I think it's really helped the character of
- 31:46Speaker 2: Bronson Reid doing this whole tribal thief stuff with Roman Reigns.
- 31:49Speaker 2: I think it's been very enjoyable and it's nice to
- 31:53Speaker 2: see this side of Bronson Reid taken effect, because I
- 31:55Speaker 2: felt like he could have been a background player behind
- 31:57Speaker 2: bron Breaker and Seth Rollins with a vision stable and
- 31:59Speaker 2: he's not. He's he's kind of neck and neck with
- 32:02Speaker 2: bron Breaker right now, and you can make a case
- 32:03Speaker 2: over the last month kind of a seven pass bron
- 32:06Speaker 2: Breaker a little bit, which it's I'm pretty sure is
- 32:08Speaker 2: not the intentions of Dooey Right now, I think bron
- 32:10Speaker 2: Breaker is the eventual golden goose for the company. John
- 32:14Speaker 2: Cena takes on Logan Paul. Both Doctor Trey and I
- 32:16Speaker 2: have John sena in this one, and I don't know
- 32:18Speaker 2: if we mentioned this, but both of us have rum
- 32:20Speaker 2: ranges on the last one as well. I was very
- 32:22Speaker 2: tempted to pick Logan Paul in this one. It would
- 32:24Speaker 2: not surprise me if we decided, let's give Logan Paul
- 32:28Speaker 2: a victory over John Cena help elevate his career in
- 32:32Speaker 2: the final month a couple months of John Cena's run
- 32:34Speaker 2: in Do Douee, we've seen it. I mean they had
- 32:37Speaker 2: him beat aj Styles at WrestleMania, so it's not out
- 32:40Speaker 2: of the question, and he defeats John Cena at Appeale.
- 32:44Speaker 2: But I would prefer that Scena continues to win, and
- 32:46Speaker 2: that's kind of how we build up towards the end
- 32:48Speaker 2: of John Cena. I'd like to see him not retort
- 32:51Speaker 2: back to the John Cena who was like losing all
- 32:53Speaker 2: the time, and we go out with classic John Cena
- 32:56Speaker 2: on his final couple matches here before he bids up
- 33:00Speaker 2: ad to professional wrestling, and then that takes us to
- 33:03Speaker 2: the main event match here seth Ronins of Defense against
- 33:05Speaker 2: Cmpunk jay Uso in La Knight in a fatal four
- 33:07Speaker 2: way match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Both Doctor Trey
- 33:11Speaker 2: and I have seth Rollins in this one, and I
- 33:13Speaker 2: think this is a pretty easy match. It's to pick
- 33:15Speaker 2: because he just won the championship. I don't think any
- 33:18Speaker 2: of us think whatsoever that seth Rons would be dropping
- 33:20Speaker 2: it in less than a month time after you ran
- 33:22Speaker 2: the angle that you did at SummerSlam and the months
- 33:24Speaker 2: leading up to it, or the three weeks leading up
- 33:27Speaker 2: to it. You're doing this so that like seth Rolls
- 33:30Speaker 2: outsmarts the other three and I actually think that this
- 33:32Speaker 2: is more of a set up match for an eventual
- 33:35Speaker 2: Wargames match. It takes place in just a couple months
- 33:38Speaker 2: in San Diego for Survivor Series. It would not shock
- 33:41Speaker 2: me if the vision with either one or two more
- 33:43Speaker 2: people maybe like Drew Mcatarre and Logan Paul will be
- 33:46Speaker 2: taking on like Punk jay Uso La Knight and two
- 33:49Speaker 2: more people attitude. Maybe they add Randy Orton to that,
- 33:53Speaker 2: Maybe they add Cody Rhodes to that because those are
- 33:55Speaker 2: people who were could be feuding with those folks moving forward.
- 33:58Speaker 2: I actually would have loved Actually, I would love to
- 34:01Speaker 2: see John seen in this one. Can you imagine like
- 34:02Speaker 2: Punk j Uso, l A Knight, Cody Rhodes and John
- 34:06Speaker 2: Scene instead of Randy Orton signed me up to for that.
- 34:09Speaker 2: So seth Ron's leaves Clash in Paris as a worldweight championship,
- 34:13Speaker 2: and I think this is a match that you start
- 34:14Speaker 2: to see the sprinkling of the build towards Wargames in
- 34:19Speaker 2: late November, because this is kind of around the time
- 34:22Speaker 2: that they started doing that, folks. So there you go.
- 34:24Speaker 2: There is our Clash in Paris preview and predictions. Thanks
- 34:27Speaker 2: to Doctor Trey for submitting his predictions. We will recap
- 34:29Speaker 2: and review it all for you all on next week's
- 34:31Speaker 2: edition OFFSR to you the first show of September. As
- 34:36Speaker 2: the football season is upon us and your boy is
- 34:39Speaker 2: very very happy that Micah Parsons is now a member
- 34:42Speaker 2: of his beloved Kareean Bay Packers. I wanted to open
- 34:45Speaker 2: up with that on this week's to the show. That
- 34:47Speaker 2: was literally going to be my entrance. I just say,
- 34:49Speaker 2: Doctor Trey, can you believe Micah Parsons as a Green
- 34:52Speaker 2: Bay packer my friend, and then that would take it
- 34:55Speaker 2: from there. Touch Tray, a San Francisco forty Niners fan
- 34:58Speaker 2: would have loved to hear his thoughts. But bigger things
- 35:01Speaker 2: are in order than a trade, as Doctor Trey dealing
- 35:04Speaker 2: with some family stuff right now. With that said, let's
