- 0:21And we have another very special guest.
- 0:23Jordan, I think you're the first person to come back for a second
- 0:26time on my. Podcast I'm honored I'm.
- 0:29Very excited. I mean, we had such a fun time
- 0:31last time. I think we were talking about
- 0:33like predictions for like Gaylord predictions, like after
- 0:36the Heiress tour and we did not predict the life of a showgirl.
- 0:40And now? We are here for reviews that
- 0:43left the showgirl and just talking about, like the
- 0:45performance artler of it all, the state of Gaylordism and why
- 0:50it seems like there's a reinvigoration towards caring
- 0:55about us. So obsessed with us and our
- 0:59thoughts. Gab a little bit because it's
- 1:01been a little bit of time. Yeah.
- 1:02So yeah, welcome back. Thank you, I'm so excited to be

- 1:31It's so easy to do and I also have new Patreon bonus content.
- 1:36Last night I was like, is the life of showgirl about gaylors?
- 1:41And I was like, this could make so much sense.
- 1:44So I made a bonus episode because if I posted that on
- 1:46TikTok and I even just teased it on TikTok and people already
- 1:49were like, are you insane? So that's why I had to post it
- 1:52on Patreon. So go check that bonus episode
- 1:55out. Also, if you subscribe on
- 1:57Patreon, you guys get shout outs as well.
- 1:59So I'm shouting out a Patreon member Alyssa and today.
- 2:04Thank you so much for listening and subscribing.
- 2:07Anyway, let's get into the life of showgirl reactions because we
- 2:11didn't get to like actually talk right after the life of
- 2:14showgirl. And I wanted to talk about just
- 2:16like our first thoughts if it's grown on you and like our
- 2:21favorite songs, least favorite songs, etcetera.
- 2:24For me, when I first listened to it and I did go live and I was
- 2:28like already so annoyed from the clip that I had seen of her on
- 2:33the Graham Norton Show that I was like set in a bad mood
- 2:37because I was like, this is going to be tradway central.
- 2:40When I saw her outfit, I just like renew and then like
- 2:44progressively as the songs went on, I was just like in a bad
- 2:47mood. But I do feel like they have
- 2:51grown on me. I still don't think it's her
- 2:53best album. Me too, 100%.
- 2:56The first few songs I was like, OK, like I kind of see what
- 2:59we're doing here. But yeah, I feel like it got
- 3:02progressively worse and like, not that it all sounded the
- 3:06same, but I was like waiting for, I don't know.
- 3:09I kept like waiting for the like, you know, like that Taylor
- 3:14like hit of like, oh, OK, here we go.
- 3:16Like now we're really in the album and it just like never
- 3:20like TTPD. I feel like like guilty as sin.
- 3:23Once we got to that, I was like, OK, here we go.
- 3:25You know, like the first few songs are always kind of like
- 3:27the build up, the more like singles and then it really hits
- 3:31and I like didn't experience that with the life of a
- 3:33showgirl. I felt like it like went down,
- 3:37absolutely listened like. It started out the best it was
- 3:41and you never want that to be. The right like no exactly you
- 3:44want it to like progress and the only like saving grace for me on
- 3:48my first listen was the life of a showgirl song.
- 3:51And they're like, wow, she came out.
- 3:53I said to live in my dream like that.
- 3:55I was like, OK, finally, like we get something.
- 3:58But they're right before that I was I was listening with my
- 4:01girlfriend and my best friend and we've all were like, what
- 4:06what's happening here? Like where is the where are the
- 4:09bridges? I feel like that's something
- 4:10that really lacks in this album for me is like a lot of the
- 4:15songs don't really have that, like strong bridge of
- 4:18absolutely, here we go. There's been so much chatter
- 4:22about like, has Taylor Swift ever actually been good?
- 4:27And I think that she, not to sound crazy, anticipated that
- 4:32and knew she might have had like a falling from grace like in one
- 4:36of these poems. I think it's like the shiny bug
- 4:38poem. She's like, one day they'll put
- 4:42the mirror up to my face again and like scrutinize me again and
- 4:45wonder if I whatever, whatever. And I hope that that's like
- 4:48intentional. It's so strange to see her go
- 4:51from such strong writing and not even necessarily just in the
- 4:55lyrics department, like you said, like the bridges, like,
- 4:59like it builds up. Like she does that so well and
- 5:03we don't see that at all in this album.
- 5:04It's almost like she has to try to not do that because she has
- 5:07like random vault songs that that do that.
- 5:11And like, now that We Don't Talk wasn't put out for 10 years, but
- 5:17like, we don't get one. I don't know, even from Taylor.
- 5:21Yeah, It doesn't Rev up as much as I feel like it can be,
- 5:24especially when you're pitching it as like a.
- 5:25Pop album, right Well, and there was so much like hype for this
- 5:30album with like he's working with Max Martin and Shell back
- 5:33again and like had been creating it on the air store.
- 5:35And I feel like the aesthetic of the album is so Kunti and so
- 5:41like the photo shoots and the violent, like all of it is so
- 5:44good. And then the music doesn't
- 5:46necessarily match that. And I think that's, like, hard
- 5:50for me to, like, connect. But I also do feel like, yeah,
- 5:53that is part of the, like, the performance art of it.
- 5:55All right? And the fact that she went from
- 5:58TTPD to the life of a showgirl, like to me, it read as like,
- 6:04this is what you guys want from me.
- 6:05Like this is what the Trav wives and the people who are so
- 6:09obsessed with my relationship with Travis Kelsey.
- 6:11Like you want me to be in love and dignitized and like all this
- 6:16shit. So I'm gonna like, give that to
- 6:18you. I'm waiting for and hoping for
- 6:20the like, the bait and switch, you know, like, where's the
- 6:22switch on? Cuz like OK.
- 6:24This is the bait. Right.
- 6:26So now where's the switch? Cuz like I.
- 6:28And I think she, and now I mean, we're kind of skipping past like
- 6:32where our notes are, but this is what we do.
- 6:34Anyways, she says like I wanted to do the character of the poet
- 6:38for TTPD and now I'm in the character of the showgirl.
- 6:42And it's like she's well aware that like she had 31 songs right
- 6:49on TTPD and it's kind of like scatterbrain all of her thoughts
- 6:53like a poet would. And now these are like only a
- 6:56few of these kind of like lacking depth songs because
- 7:00she's like giving people what they want.
- 7:03I think she saw the criticism from TTPD and was like, oh
- 7:06people don't want like in depth stories like Cassandra like
- 7:10which Tavis stands have actually listened to Cassandra I and if.
- 7:14They do. Do they actually?
- 7:15Understand, right. And so she's like, yeah, she's
- 7:19like great, this is an album for the gaylors, right?
- 7:23I know I'll give you guys a Tavis album, but like feels like
- 7:26you're really being pushed to either think it's fully
- 7:28intentional or that she has been lobotomized you.
- 7:33Know literally it has to it has to be one of the two.
- 7:35Well, and that is I feel like this album only makes sense
- 7:40through a performance art lens, right?
- 7:42Like if you're looking at it otherwise it is like, girl, what
- 7:45the what the fuck is happening here?
- 7:48Like unless you're looking at it through that lens of like, OK,
- 7:51this is part of the bigger picture and the show and almost
- 7:54the fact that it's the life of a showgirl.
- 7:56Like I was anticipating music about being on the Errors tour,
- 8:00right? Like I was anticipating like
- 8:02Clarabeau Lucky 1 style music. And we got that with the life of
- 8:08a showgirl. Like the title track only.
- 8:11But the rest I almost feel like she's like throwing it in
- 8:14people's face of like trying to make the point so clear.
- 8:18Like the life of a showgirl is the showgirl that's dating
- 8:23Travis Kelsey, right? The showgirl that puts on this
- 8:25like Disney Princess relationship for you guys like
- 8:30happy ending fairy tale love story shit.
- 8:32Like that's the showgirl character, like she said in
- 8:37those interviews, Because otherwise it doesn't make sense
- 8:41for it to be right, the life of a showgirl and then to be would
- 8:45like, right, and all these other things that I'm like, this does
- 8:48not fit with this aesthetic unless you're looking at it from
- 8:51like totally. Her relationship with Travis is
- 8:54part of the show, you know, Totally.
- 8:56Yeah, It's like she's like, I'm performing in my life as well.
- 9:00Like I'm still on the stage. You had such potential for such
- 9:06an interesting sound that she's never done before with, like,
- 9:10saxophones and trumpets and, like, so easy to.
- 9:16It's so easy to get a sample from, like, some 1940s song at
- 9:20it in the beginning. Like Lord knows she took she
- 9:22took questions from the Jackson 5 without asking.
- 9:25But like, and I'm like, what's with that?
- 9:28I cannot get behind a lot of these songs.
- 9:30Like even if like you take away the Dick lyrics of Wood and
- 9:34you're like, OK, maybe it's about the strap, which like
- 9:36loves on interpretation. My girlfriend sings that every
- 9:39time. Like stratmatize me?
- 9:41Love that. Who calls a Dick a magic wand?
- 9:46Right, right. Like that's giving vibrator to
- 9:48me and that's giving, it's giving me a Chapel.
- 9:50Like I got a wand and a rabbit exactly an actual real life
- 9:56like. I know I hate that I already
- 9:57said it 2 times it's been like 5 minutes, but like even if you
- 10:01take away the I don't know the lyrics of it would and actually
- 10:07romantic, which I actually am obsessed with sounds like
- 10:11copycats of other songs and I'm just like how did is that
- 10:15purposeful? Like what do you think of that?
- 10:17Or do you think that's just kind of like?
- 10:20I don't like, I feel like it has to be purposeful because she has
- 10:23to know she's under such a like microscope and people scrutinize
- 10:28her so much that people are going to see that and pick up on
- 10:32that, right? People are looking at her so
- 10:36close and like, so scrutinizing her that they are going to pick
- 10:40up on that. And so I feel like that has to
- 10:42be intentional too. But my question is there why?
- 10:45And then why give George Michael credit for father figure but not
- 10:50give the Jackson Five credit? You know, like what?
- 10:52Right. I think there's certain songs
- 10:54she knew that she wanted to write for this album, like
- 10:56Elizabeth Taylor, Father figure, the light of the Showgirl, the
- 10:59fate of Ophelia. Did I say that?
- 11:01I don't know. And then I think everything else
- 11:04she just kind of like threw together, yeah, threw together.
- 11:07And I think the idea is like, this is not Taylor's version.
- 11:11This is not really her speaking to us.
- 11:13Like I was listening to Showgirl's version, right?
- 11:17Which is maybe a copycat of other songs and other retro
- 11:19songs. Because she is not really like
- 11:21giving us her a real human. Perspective, right?
- 11:26And I kind of feel bad from bad for Max Martin and Shellback
- 11:29because I feel like she's just had more vulnerable pieces.
- 11:34Like I think the album is very interesting when you look at it
- 11:36in a performance artler way, but it's just a very different type
- 11:40of album to consume. Like it's not.
- 11:42Yeah. Even gonna be like reputation.
- 11:45The legacy of it is maybe gonna be different than other albums
- 11:49or Reputation. I feel like was really hated at
- 11:521st and then people but I think it was hated because like
- 11:55culturally she was really hated at that.
- 11:58Time. Yeah, but right now she is like,
- 12:00I mean, before this album came out, she was like at the peak
- 12:04and like so beloved and people are so obsessed with her.
- 12:06And now it's the album that's making people be like, which is
- 12:10like different than Reputation. Like Reputation was just hated
- 12:13because she was hated culturally at the moment.
- 12:16But this it's like she was loved and then people heard it and
- 12:18we're like, what the fuck is? It's like the reputation like
- 12:23which I'm like, is that is that the point?
- 12:26Because I also like listening to Taylor Swift for my entire life.
- 12:30I just cannot believe that in like eldest daughter.
- 12:34I literally have it like blocked on my phone.
- 12:37Oh no, I can't. Listen to it, I can't.
- 12:39I deleted that and cancelled off my like the life of a showgirl.
- 12:44How Like you can delete it on Spotify play?
- 12:47Like my friend cancelled it's so on.
- 12:52Ironically bad. Like so bad.
- 12:55Do you ever see the people on TikTok that are doing the, like,
- 12:58dance where they're looking really like, Oh, yeah, yeah,
- 13:00yeah. My girlfriend anytime.
- 13:02Because sometimes I just like STEM.
- 13:04Like, good thing. Yeah, my friends.
- 13:07And every time she's like, like, that's that.
- 13:10Energy it gives. To me, I'm just, it is so like
- 13:14it has to be, it has to be satire, genuinely and serious,
- 13:18she said. We all.
- 13:18Dressed up as as wolves and fire.
- 13:22Like I'm like what? At least was like so high
- 13:24school. It's like so clear that there's
- 13:26a lacking depth here. And it's like so fruity.
- 13:29Like half of the songs on this album are for that reason, like,
- 13:33and she knows that she can put in the bare minimum and make a
- 13:35lot of money from it because she's attracting Tavis people.
- 13:39It's like a literally a Tavis fruit album.
- 13:42But she says she goes in and out of character.
- 13:45And on some of the one of these TV interviews, she was like,
- 13:48yeah, I go in and out of character in this album.
- 13:50And it's like so contradictory because she didn't say on the
- 13:54New Heights podcast, she's like, this is the life.
- 13:57This is my real life. And it's like, you're such a
- 14:00liar, like you. No one can.
- 14:03Defend her being truthful anymore.
- 14:06And I you've been saying this a lot, like that is so
- 14:09intentional, but you can't even tell what she actually cares
- 14:13about, what she doesn't, what she actually means in the song,
- 14:16what she doesn't like. It's just getting so obvious.
- 14:20Right. She's making it so obvious that
- 14:22like, I feel like she's wanting people to call her out on it.
- 14:25You know what I mean? Like she is like saying things
- 14:29in one interview and then saying completely different things in
- 14:32another interview and just waiting for someone to be like,
- 14:36hello, what are you saying? Like I'm not online.
- 14:39I'm not an online person, but I'm on your blog, girl.
- 14:41I'm on your sourdough blog. Like I'm not online, but I was
- 14:44scrolling after the era's tour show.
- 14:47She was traveling, right? So I'm like, which is it?
- 14:49Are you not online or are you scrolling?
- 14:51Are you liking videos or are you baking bread like it can?
- 14:56Which? 1 and I feel like she has been
- 14:59publicly lying since midnight's era like in interviews and
- 15:03different things she's saying and it just keeps louder and
- 15:07louder and like she's wanting because ever since that fucking
- 15:10interview where she called the glitter in the anti hero music
- 15:13video midnight blue glitter, I've been like bitch, I don't
- 15:17trust anything that's purple that's purple and you know it
- 15:21and we know it I'm. Seeing a lot of people getting
- 15:23like understanding gaylors that are like not necessarily like
- 15:26huge Taylor Swift fans or at least like not in the cult of
- 15:28Taylor Swift where they feel like they need to defend
- 15:30everything she does where they're like we will.
- 15:32This actually makes more sense if you look at it from a
- 15:36performance Artler, giggler perspective.
- 15:38So I'm seeing some more people because it feels like it's
- 15:40really drawing a line in the sand.
- 15:41And that feels intentional. Like it's she's at the peak of
- 15:44her fame. You have to do something very
- 15:47different from what you usually do in order to make people who
- 15:51are in a cult not like your music, right?
- 15:55So like, right, it felt very intentional.
- 15:57So I feel like there's either people that are like, do Gaylors
- 16:00have a point? And like I'm seeing a lot of
- 16:02people that have never been on Gaylord TikTok being like so
- 16:05true. And then I think there's a lot
- 16:06of other people that are like scared of the reality that
- 16:10Taylor Swift could be lying to us or the performance could be a
- 16:14performance and not the true her and that they don't know her
- 16:17better than we all do. And I'm.
- 16:20So obsessed with like knowing her and being like, I, that's
- 16:24my, that's my emotional support pop star.
- 16:27That's my like close personal friend Taylor.
- 16:29So like I see people saying that in their videos all the time.
- 16:32And I'm like, I get it's a joke, but it also doesn't really feel
- 16:35like a joke where I'm like, I genuinely feel like there are
- 16:37people who feel that way about her.
- 16:40Like, and I'm like, yes, as someone who's like grown up with
- 16:43her music has gone to every single tour except for
- 16:45reputation because I didn't have money and I was in college, like
- 16:48and like has every single album. I like listen to it and I'm
- 16:53like, that brings me back to like this era in my life, this
- 16:56time of, you know, like I, I, I don't, I don't know her and I
- 17:00don't feel like I know, you know, like I know her music, I
- 17:03know her art. I know the story she tells, but
- 17:05like I would never be like she's my bestie.
- 17:09My close person is like Taylor Swift.
- 17:10Like that's that's weird. That's like, and otherwise, like
- 17:15I got so much fucking hate after I went to the Ayers tour last
- 17:19year and I said like, Oh my God, she looked me in the eyes.
- 17:22So many people were like, no, she didn't, she doesn't know who
- 17:25you are. She didn't see you.
- 17:26And I'm like, OK, so when I say that it's not OK, but then
- 17:30there's people who are like, she's my bestie.
- 17:32I know everything about her. Like or I went to 1 secret
- 17:34session so I can say da da da. I can speak on this where it's
- 17:38like, no, you don't know her. And I do think she like has
- 17:43definitely had a part in creating that relationship
- 17:46absolutely with her fans of like the fact that she was so online
- 17:51in her early eras. We.
- 17:53Built her career on being like relatable, yet so specific about
- 17:58her own life. That's like truly such a fine
- 18:01line that like I don't think anyone else has walked.
- 18:04So I think that I mean, even the way that she she styles herself,
- 18:08even if it's like Gucci, it looks attainable.
- 18:11It doesn't look like she's this rich mean bitch that no one can
- 18:15meet and talk to because I think like that's her whole appeal.
- 18:19And I think that's why. Especially.
- 18:21Store like right, especially with Tavis because and it's so
- 18:25fun. I see this comments all the time
- 18:26and I'm like, how do you guys not see it?
- 18:29They're like it is so such a blessing that we get to see that
- 18:33their love, their love story start.
- 18:35It's like right, it's not normal normal.
- 18:38See every aspect of a celebrity's beginning to end
- 18:42relationship. Think about Dua Lipa and Caleb
- 18:45Turner. Did we see the first date?
- 18:46They went on like I didn't. Even know they were like.
- 18:49I don't know, a normal straight celebrity couple, we don't see
- 18:54every one month in, they're here.
- 18:57One month in, they're here. And like, we didn't even see
- 18:59that with Joe Allen. We didn't see that with anywhere
- 19:01else. It's not because she's just
- 19:02famous. It's because that was on
- 19:04purpose, because she knows that her fans are wanting to live
- 19:09vicariously through every single single thing that she does.
- 19:12So they think they know everything she does and where
- 19:14she is at all times. So when someone else says, oh,
- 19:16what if this is the case? They're like, no, we already
- 19:18know her and that's not actually true.
- 19:21And and I'm like, I don't claim to know her exact sexuality.
- 19:25I think that she's queer. I would bet money that she's
- 19:29queer. But do I know for sure that she
- 19:32is like no, because I don't know her?
- 19:34Right. Do I know that she's like queer
- 19:36flagged for 15 years and like put all these very obvious queer
- 19:42flags and queer themes and reference queer artists in her
- 19:44work? Like yes.
- 19:46And that leads me to believe when I see people they're
- 19:49flagging, I'm going to assume they're queer.
- 19:51When I see someone wearing a bisexual flag wig making
- 19:54themselves the sheriff of gay town, yeah, I'm going to assume
- 19:57you're queer or you're a really shitty ally.
- 19:59Like those are the options. At this point she is either
- 20:02queer or she's a really really shitty ally.
- 20:05She either has a great plan and is going to help a lot of people
- 20:10with visibility, representation, etcetera, or she is making money
- 20:15off of gay people. Right, those are the options.
- 20:19Either intentional or it's not and I'm scared if it's not right
- 20:24like. So many people pick up on these
- 20:28themes like it's not like dealer is like necessarily a small
- 20:32group anymore. Like it has grown exponentially
- 20:35from the like kaylor Tumblr days was like where I got my gaylor
- 20:40awakening of being like theme. Oh, there was that's like Tumblr
- 20:43page. There was one single page.
- 20:46Feel like gaylor used to be a word just to describe like
- 20:50honestly like a fun little fandom word and it still is.
- 20:53People view it now like a political identity, like or like
- 20:59a like almost like a slur. And the way I'm hearing people
- 21:03being like, I think she's bi, but I'm not a gaylor queen.
- 21:06That's a gaylor. Like what are you talking about?
- 21:08It is not like I stamp like you are a gaylor like these hard
- 21:13lines. It's like just being like a
- 21:16community that picks up on queer stuff that Taylor Swift writes
- 21:20and then therefore then leads to the conclusion that probably
- 21:23Taylor Swift is queer and there are different levels to Gaylord,
- 21:28but it's really not that like intense of a thing.
- 21:30And I don't know, I just feel like fandom culture is just
- 21:34getting so intense. Glitch.
- 21:37What is your favorite and least favorite song on this album?
- 21:42OK well my least favorite I have two.
- 21:44My 2 least favorites are eldest daughter and cancelled.
- 21:49I can't listen to either of them.
- 21:52I am and hearing her explanation for cancelled.
- 21:54I was like, yeah, no, you won't be getting any streams for me on
- 21:58this one girly like I it was too, which I I saw in the notes.
- 22:02We're going to talk more about this and I can't wait for that.
- 22:04But it was too like mega adjacent for me of like her,
- 22:08especially with the people she is aligning herself with and
- 22:12spending time with lately, her being like, I don't judge people
- 22:17based on what others say about them.
- 22:18I'm just going to judge you based on kind of person you are.
- 22:21I'm like, yeah, that's exactly what my mega family says about
- 22:24people too. Like that is the exact same
- 22:27talking points that they use. And so I I can't do it.
- 22:31And I don't think canceled is about Brittany Mahomes, right?
- 22:34Like, I don't think that when she was writing it, that was her
- 22:37intention. I think it's about like her, her
- 22:41experience with getting canceled and like a critique of cancel
- 22:45culture, I think was the interest of the song maybe.
- 22:48But like, I also think she needs to take a step back and realize
- 22:54how things are going to be read from her right now with who
- 22:59she's aligning herself with and who she's spending time with.
- 23:02And like, unfortunately, a lot of people are going to listen to
- 23:05that song and be like, oh, this is about Britney Mahomes and
- 23:08you're standing up for her Taylor.
- 23:10And that I can't listen to it. I can't can't listen to
- 23:13canceled. It sounds like the most evil
- 23:16billionaire and not in a hot sexy way in like a I'm exactly
- 23:20who you think I am. And I was like, who is?
- 23:25Especially when she says welcome to my underworlds where it gets
- 23:29quite dark. I'm like, are you Antichrist?
- 23:32Who the fuck are you? Like it's like she doesn't even
- 23:35care. She's like, yeah, you think I'm
- 23:37MAGA? Yes, I am.
- 23:38I'm evil. Like it's just like, what the
- 23:40fuck, underworld thing? It feels again, like just
- 23:43leaning into whatever people are saying about her.
- 23:46Like, yeah, I am MAGA. Yeah, I do suck Dick.
- 23:50But like I was watching the Karma music video and it feels
- 23:54so karma of when the when the set or the book flips and she's
- 24:00like in the underworld with the devil.
- 24:02She's got the mask, yeah, and. It feels like she's playing into
- 24:04that because, right, I don't think that she is like defending
- 24:09being friends with Brittany Mahomes.
- 24:11I don't think that's what the song is about.
- 24:12But I think she knows that people would have taken that
- 24:14way. And I think she literally
- 24:16doesn't care. And, and I think she doesn't
- 24:19care because she is perhaps trying to cancel herself with
- 24:23this album or at least cancel the the self of Taylor that is
- 24:28with Travis Kelce. Someone is like, you know, maybe
- 24:30the Gaylors are on to something because Taylor Swift's coming
- 24:34out right now would really like flip the script on her personal
- 24:39brand. And I was like that made and
- 24:41that's the point. Y'all Like that she is trying to
- 24:43make herself so hated, like, yeah.
- 24:48But then she can like flip the script, you know what I mean?
- 24:50Like wait, which like I don't necessarily think that's like
- 24:53ethical if we want to get into that, but like it's like we're
- 24:56beyond absolutely what I feel like she's trying to do.
- 25:00Like, like you said, like trying to get herself cancelled and
- 25:02trying to make herself like so polarizing like.
- 25:06And then I know we've been talking about the potential of
- 25:09like the death of a showgirl and like killing off the showgirl.
- 25:11I've like me and you will like agree on that.
- 25:13But then I'm thinking about it. It's like what if her version of
- 25:16killing off the showgirl is just canceling herself?
- 25:19Like what if you're experiencing the death of a showgirl right
- 25:22now where she is like killing off everything that people,
- 25:26right? Expect of her.
- 25:28But you were saying I was like, Oh my God, what if this is the
- 25:31death of a showgirl? Like she's canceling herself?
- 25:33Welcome to my underworld, where it gets quite dark.
- 25:36I'm a. Pathological people pleaser.
- 25:38I only want you to see me and that she was like there for so
- 25:41long of her career and now she's gone to like the completely
- 25:44other end of like, I don't don't give a fuck what anyone thinks
- 25:47about me. This is what I'm doing.
- 25:49And like trying to like burn it down.
- 25:52And like you said, like kill off the showgirl by putting out this
- 25:57album and like forcing people to like think critically about
- 26:01their opinion about her and their perspective on her.
- 26:04You know, she's done so far the other way that she's like
- 26:06forcing people to like grapple with their, her social
- 26:11relationships with her and their like view of her and what they
- 26:14think of her. So absolutely.
- 26:16No, you said something so interesting.
- 26:18You were like, she's been a pathological people pleaser for
- 26:21her whole career. If she was still thinking with
- 26:24like that brain, would she make this music that she knows she
- 26:29knows when she goes, I don't want that 1950s shit.
- 26:33And then all of a sudden goes, actually, I was lying.
- 26:36I do want just kids, the basketball.
- 26:38I don't want to be a complex female character.
- 26:41I don't want to be a complex female character is really what
- 26:45has sat here. But she knows that that's going
- 26:48to be a complete 180 and doesn't care that people are going to
- 26:52hate her for it. I think you're right.
- 26:54Like she is no longer the Taylor Swift that cares what people
- 26:57think. If she doesn't care that people
- 26:59think that she's MAGA, does she care if people don't like that
- 27:02she's gay? Right.
- 27:04Like, right? Maybe she's decentering
- 27:07approval. Self from the.
- 27:09Narrative herself from the narrative.
- 27:10Yeah, This is why I say like this album only makes sense if
- 27:13you look at it through a performance art alert lens and
- 27:16wish list. My first listen to I was like,
- 27:19so turned off by that song. You are a billionaire.
- 27:23You can have whatever you want. Like you can have the bags and
- 27:29the purses and the yacht life and all this shit that you're
- 27:32singing about, like. She has it.
- 27:34That's why I think she's a liar. Everything she's talking about,
- 27:37how she doesn't want, she actually does have already and
- 27:40does want and she's talking about herself, but she switches
- 27:43it a little bit. She goes the Oscar.
- 27:45Meanwhile she's wanted the Grammy.
- 27:47Every time she puts out an album, we know she wants a
- 27:49Grammy. Like we saw how she mourned
- 27:51after Reputation how she wanted a Grammy for Lover and also
- 27:53didn't get one. Like we know that.
- 27:55And then she's like yacht life. Like she's always fucking
- 27:58around, like traveling in yachts, like in the South of
- 28:01Italy, like the dogs you call your kids, but it's actually
- 28:05just cats for her. Like everything.
- 28:07She switches a little bit like the chopper.
- 28:10She means her private jet like. Even in like Elizabeth Taylor,
- 28:16Elizabeth, one of the songs she says like I would trade the
- 28:19Cartier for someone to trust, just kidding, just kidding, just
- 28:22kidding, I wouldn't. And then a wish list.
- 28:25She completely contradicts that. Like in her own album, she is
- 28:29contradicting herself. In and out of care.
- 28:30Because. The other thing is, like, we
- 28:32know that she made this music with Max Morgan and Schellbach.
- 28:36Usually she writes kind of on her own or like sends files
- 28:41back, writes on her own over the course of time and then goes and
- 28:44records it or like puts it together and produces it.
- 28:48And like sometimes isn't in the studio.
- 28:49But it's interesting that it seems like all of these were
- 28:52kind of written all kind of at the same time.
- 28:54It feels like it's not her own feelings, like she's not going
- 28:58through something. She wasn't randomly with Travis
- 29:01and was like, I need to pull up my notes out and let me write
- 29:03the song, honey. She was like, OK, Max Martin
- 29:06shell back. We need to write a love song
- 29:07about Travis Kelce. Let's do it right now.
- 29:10Like Bunny also to me is so the undertones are so queer.
- 29:14Like I feel like it is very, like I've had men call me these
- 29:20names. I've had men call me honey and
- 29:22sweetheart and I didn't like it. But when you do it, when this
- 29:25woman, you know, that's how I'm reading it anyways.
- 29:27Like then suddenly it feels right.
- 29:30Like I've had all these men do it and it didn't feel right.
- 29:33But now when you do it suddenly, which is another thing she does
- 29:37a lot in this album. Like I feel like I started
- 29:40noticing this. I think Ren pointed it out on
- 29:42TikTok like a few years ago. How often Taylor does the like,
- 29:46He's over here doing this, but you're the one I'm singing to.
- 29:51And it's just like unlabeled, no gender muse like.
- 29:57And she does that a lot in the life of a showgirl.
- 29:59It's the same thing with like hit Super where it's like all
- 30:02these men you don't, it's like, wait, why aren't you part of the
- 30:05category? Man, right, So Speaking of hits
- 30:08different when Travis Kelce or the story about Travis Kelce
- 30:11meeting Greta Gerwig and then being like, well, but not
- 30:14actually saying it to Greta Gerwig, which I was like, I
- 30:16don't buy this story. I'm sorry.
- 30:17Like, I don't you mean to tell me Greta Gerwig didn't introduce
- 30:21herself and be like hi. Hi, I'm Greta.
- 30:24Gerwig, like I've she was just trying to like somehow work in
- 30:27the fact that she could say that Travis Kelce was like, I'm just
- 30:30Ken and then it's different. She says.
- 30:33I used to switch out these cans. I just ghost The Bejeweled music
- 30:37video after the proposal, she ghosts.
- 30:40She made a point to bring up how Travis Kelsey said I'm just Ken.
- 30:45Like that is immediately what I thought of.
- 30:46I was like, oh, OK, so we're ghosting like that's why.
- 30:48Yeah, like we haven't seen a topic here with Travis.
- 30:52It felt like they kind of went cold a little bit.
- 30:55And it doesn't really make any sense why?
- 30:57Because she's doing all of this PR like she's doing.
- 31:02She did a path walk by herself. She's doing talking so many
- 31:06interviews we haven't seen her do in years, and yet Travis
- 31:10isn't really a part of that. Love album about him.
- 31:13She'd want to be like seen with him and having new pictures of
- 31:17him and stuff. But like, we're not getting any
- 31:19of yeah. Speaking of like Travis MAGA
- 31:23canceled, etcetera, let's talk about Nazi Gate.
- 31:28Quickly COD. Personally, I mean, I don't
- 31:33think Taylor Swift is a Nazi. I just don't, I don't think
- 31:39she's a Nazi. I don't think that she's MAGA.
- 31:40I when I say magified Taylor Swift, I think it's because
- 31:43like, that's how she's pitching herself to people.
- 31:46And I think that's what a lot of people are getting.
- 31:47Everyone's like or missing. Everyone's like, Oh my God, but
- 31:50Taylor Swift hates Trump. It's like, yeah, I'm sure she
- 31:53does. But at the same time, she is
- 31:55centering herself with this community and is not caring to
- 31:59clear anything up. And I think that's really the
- 32:02point for me. But I also do think that that's
- 32:04like intentional, Like I've been seeing these comments a few
- 32:08times being like pretty much blaming Gaylors for the whole
- 32:12Nazi allegation and it's. Like I saw that fucking video.
- 32:16I saw that dude. Like dude, it's like, which is
- 32:20crazy. You cannot just say objectively
- 32:24objectively gaylors are majority queer non men.
- 32:30And when you see an allegation and you're just going to throw
- 32:33it on a group that has mostly minority people in it that are
- 32:39by the way not harming you or Taylor Swift at all.
- 32:43And to just send your followers towards people to harass is
- 32:47objectively fucking crazy and really embarrassing and really
- 32:52low brow. And the fact that people stand
- 32:55for that is insane. Even though I know this creator
- 32:57and I, he has way more followers than any of us because all they
- 33:00do is just regurgitate positive to Taylor Swift and have no
- 33:04fucking real opinions because they think they're one step away
- 33:07from meeting Taylor Swift and they they're.
- 33:09Getting invited to the next secret session, right?
- 33:12And it's like, that's not by the way.
- 33:13You're not even a content creator, you're just the news
- 33:15channel that just repost the same shit because give me your.
- 33:18Staff opinion it's always a white gay man at the scene of
- 33:21the crime. I'm sorry.
- 33:22Like there is a reason why so many people say a lot of white
- 33:26gay men are gay, but they're not misogynistic.
- 33:29Like you don't actually give a fuck about the queer community
- 33:33because if you did like you don't have to like gaylors if
- 33:36you are gay, that doesn't mean you have to be a gaylor.
- 33:38Like you can have your own opinion, but you to like turn
- 33:43your huge audience against gaylors is so disgusting.
- 33:48And so, and also like it was so baseless, like there was no
- 33:53actual criticism in there. Like I, I'm like, I'm all for
- 33:58criticism. If you want to like call me out
- 34:00on something if you want to say like, I didn't agree with this
- 34:03take that you had great. Let's talk about it.
- 34:05Let's have a conversation about it.
- 34:07But like you are literally just pulling this out of thin air.
- 34:10I saw KP say like it's just rage bait.
- 34:12Like he's just trying to get clicks and engagement and make
- 34:16money. I took a couple days after that
- 34:19original video was posted to be like, yeah, you know, like I was
- 34:23like, and most gaylors the I saw talking about it like, no, I
- 34:28don't think that. I don't think that's what she
- 34:30was trying to do with this. Like I think it's just an ugly
- 34:33necklace, but like. This symbol, the lightning bolt
- 34:37is used for everything and like she has used it before.
- 34:43And so it's not until one person post this video that I think
- 34:47because of all the MAGA allegations, it's it's like
- 34:50swirling into maybe she's a secret Nazi.
- 34:52I just don't think if she was a secret Nazi, she would be saying
- 34:57gay pride makes me me. I don't even think that she
- 34:59would be doing that. And I don't actually think that
- 35:01she's MAGA. I think she's not MAGA, but it's
- 35:04just like aligning herself with this because this is the
- 35:06character she's doing. And yes it's probably not doing
- 35:09good in the short term. I personally am an optimistic
- 35:13when it comes to her and I believe in the best but like
- 35:16thing with a lightning bolt, it's just like there's a
- 35:19lightning bolt on your charger. Right now, like, come on.
- 35:22Like, right, right. No, I don't know.
- 35:24There's a difference between like, like, I think it is very
- 35:27important to criticize Taylor Swift and to call her out and to
- 35:30be like, yeah, girl, it makes me I I don't like that you're
- 35:33hanging out with Brittany Mahomes.
- 35:35I don't appreciate that. You were fighting Trump on
- 35:38Twitter a few years ago, and now you're hanging out with people
- 35:40who love him. But like, I don't think she, I
- 35:43don't think she's Maggie either. I think she is just a rich
- 35:47billionaire. Yeah.
- 35:48Unfortunately, politics don't really affect her that much,
- 35:51Like. And so she can be comfortable
- 35:54hanging out with of these people and just like totally talk about
- 35:58we just don't talk about politics, you know, like it's
- 36:01very families at Thanksgiving of like we're just we just don't
- 36:04acknowledge it. We're just all here together and
- 36:06we just love each other and like totally I but I don't think she
- 36:10is like mega. I think she is just like not
- 36:13even like politically indifferent, but like has given
- 36:15up on saying anything, which I think she's given.
- 36:18I don't appreciate that. Like I don't like that.
- 36:21I wish she would. I wish she would use her
- 36:23platform. I saw that like the Otter shirt
- 36:26that she, she was wearing raised like $2,000,000 overnight for
- 36:30the aquarium that she that it was from like they like, or like
- 36:34you can buy this shirt if you make a donation to the aquarium.
- 36:37And I'm like, great. Imagine if she posted something
- 36:40about Palestine, you know, like how much money she could raise
- 36:43for Palestinian families. Where I'm like, yes, I do wish
- 36:46she would use her platform for these things.
- 36:49And then she's given up on it. And I think that's part of the
- 36:52like, I just don't care what people think about me anymore.
- 36:55Totally character that she's putting on.
- 36:58We can criticize her for that, but I think when it goes so far
- 37:02as to saying like this lightning bolt necklace means she's a
- 37:05Nazi, then it loses validity. Do you know what I mean?
- 37:10Like I totally do and then and. Then then the problem is that
- 37:14there's there's a boy who cried wolf and then there's no like.
- 37:16Actual. Criticism.
- 37:17I really disliked when the kind of the narrative was like, OK,
- 37:21she should have in marketing, you're supposed to look out for
- 37:24these kinds of things and like, you would know that you're
- 37:27putting this out, like, you should know this.
- 37:28And I was like, she's a white woman.
- 37:30I'm assuming that most people on her team are white.
- 37:32It's giving that as a white woman, I and like, let's say
- 37:36there is something with that, with that symbol and like
- 37:39whatever. But if I randomly started making
- 37:42a necklace and I was like, I love the idea of lightnings and
- 37:45and thunderstorms and I put that on a necklace, I would have
- 37:48never thought that. And so the idea.
- 37:50Of like, of course you would think that because it's like as
- 37:54a white person, I would never think that.
- 37:56And so it's like, I'm not saying that that's, I'm just saying
- 37:58that that's the reality. So it's like.
- 38:00Wasn't wasn't even the same shape.
- 38:04It's about lightning like that's why it's.
- 38:06On there and I just think like we can't like everything can't
- 38:10be a hate symbol because then how do we actually call out
- 38:15racist people and like racist things that are happening, you
- 38:18know, and like actual hate symbols.
- 38:20If every every lightning bolt, every lightning bolt necklace
- 38:23that anyone is ever wearing is a hate symbol, then like how are
- 38:26we actually going to acknowledge the.
- 38:29Real ones I've seen in this one crater and multiple people like
- 38:32tying gaylers to these allegations and they're like,
- 38:35what's the difference if like you're both going in with
- 38:38preconceived notions and trying to build evidence for something?
- 38:41And I said, well, first of all, the main difference there is
- 38:44that calling someone a Nazi is very different than calling
- 38:47someone gay because a Nazi. Like if it's just exposing what
- 38:53they really think of gaylers that we're accusing her of
- 38:55being. Gay and that we're on like a
- 38:57witch hunt to like find we're like, like we're not.
- 39:02Trying to it's so bizarre and like it's just such a difference
- 39:07between calling someone a Nazi and calling someone gay.
- 39:09When you call someone a Nazi that is like an allegation of
- 39:14hate crimes. Like and me, I do someone gay as
- 39:18a compliment. Like I didn't wake up one day
- 39:20and be like, you know what? I want to believe that Taylor
- 39:24Swift is gay. So I'm going to like look for
- 39:25the evidence of that. It was like, oh, she spends a
- 39:29lot of time with Diana Agron. Oh, now she spends a lot of time
- 39:32with Karlie Kloss. Oh, and now she wrote this lyric
- 39:36where she said you can want who you want, boys and boys and
- 39:38girls and girls, this connection and this, you know, like it
- 39:41wasn't a like, I want her to be gay because I'm gay.
- 39:44So I'm going to find the evidence for that.
- 39:46It was like, I'm gay and I'm seeing a lot of, I'm seeing this
- 39:50weirdness coming out of you because I don't know what it
- 39:52looks like, right? Like we're not accusing her of
- 39:55being gay. We're just like picking up on
- 39:58the queer flagging and being like, oh, OK, girl, I see that
- 40:01like. Right, but these creators would
- 40:04not hate on gaylors if it wasn't giving them money and generating
- 40:09things for them. Because people hate us so much.
- 40:12Like I very rarely tag specific Tavis stands and I'm like, look
- 40:18at how fucked up this is until unless they're saying go kill
- 40:21yourself and then I'll be like, that's crazy.
- 40:23But it's like such a random thing.
- 40:25And especially when you're you should be like celebrating how
- 40:28fun this album is for you. Why are you spending your energy
- 40:31talking about fellow queer people that heaven forbid, think
- 40:34that she's gay? It's just.
- 40:37Like why are you so obsessed with this?
- 40:39And like do not have anything better to make content about.
- 40:42Like it's actually romantic. Like it is, It's actually.
- 40:45Romantic. And I just, I feel like a lot
- 40:48out of the Swifty content I see is very baseline or it's like 3
- 40:53years later and they're like, Oh my God, you guys.
- 40:56Yeah. Like did you notice that she had
- 40:59two tailors in the antihero music video?
- 41:02Maybe that meant something. And I'm like, yes, like you
- 41:05made. Well, we're there like, but
- 41:08there have been so many videos that I've seen where I've like,
- 41:10I love to read a bitch. I would love to read a bitch.
- 41:12I would love to like flame a bitch, make fun, you know, and
- 41:16I'm like, I'm just not going to do that because I'm tempted.
- 41:19The reality is these are like other people.
- 41:22There are other content creators who are like doing their thing.
- 41:25I don't have to like it. I don't have to be mean.
- 41:28Like unless, like you said, it's like the swift, all of this
- 41:30telling dealers to kill themselves.
- 41:32Like if you hate Gaylord so much, block us.
- 41:35There's just, it's it's been quite an uptick lately too, of
- 41:39like the Gaylors are cancelled, they're done.
- 41:42And I'm like I. There's some people that are
- 41:45like, she's engaged. I'm like, and she could be
- 41:48bisexual. Like like even beyond the
- 41:50performance artler, there's this idea that's like, what if she
- 41:53gets married and like as if we are pressuring her to do
- 41:57something and not just picking up what she's putting down.
- 42:01We don't control her. She's fine if she hated Gaylors.
- 42:05We've been going on now for like 10 years.
- 42:07She would say something and there are so many swifty
- 42:11creators like you were saying like that are just it's almost
- 42:14like capital Taylor Swift capitalism where it's not even
- 42:17opinions, it's not even takes. People are so scared to even
- 42:21give their real opinion that are these Taylor Swift creators that
- 42:25at this point they're just little subsidiary like media
- 42:27outlets or Taylor Swift and or brand Taylor Swift.
- 42:31It's like. Putting news out about.
- 42:33Her right? I'm like, you're not even a
- 42:35creator. Give me your thoughts.
- 42:37Yeah. And I think that's like led to
- 42:39the whole cult like mentality because and then people feel
- 42:42guilty. People are like, wait, what if I
- 42:44don't like the album? Oh, it doesn't matter.
- 42:46It does not matter. It's or like you cannot like it.
- 42:51I know my first listen I made a bunch of videos that were like
- 42:54fuck that hate that hate this album.
- 42:56And the more I've listened to it, the more it's grown on me.
- 42:59But I still stand by those comments because like, that's
- 43:02how I felt when it first came out and I'm not gonna like
- 43:05apologize or be scared to be like I don't agree with.
- 43:08This have an opinion? Like this, right?
- 43:10People like oh. Listen three times before you
- 43:12have an opinion. And what if I don't?
- 43:14It's getting the Internet's bad. So it's just like boring, like,
- 43:17and I truly believe this is like a parent of a kid that I work
- 43:23with has said to me like the worst thing a person can be is
- 43:25boring. And that is so many Swifty
- 43:30creators. I'm sorry.
- 43:31I'm like, I'm bored by your content.
- 43:32You're not actually, you're not giving me your opinion.
- 43:35You're just like reading me a tweet about the data or about
- 43:39like the Taylor. Swift was at Arrowhead and she
- 43:42looks so cute like Papa Swift and Mama.
- 43:45I'm like, what are you talking like we're talking to children
- 43:48in APG movie? Right, like this is you can give
- 43:52a real Mama and you don't have to like every outfit she wears
- 43:56and you don't have to like every song she puts out.
- 43:57Like if you do, I am going to assume you don't know how to
- 44:02think critically or think for yourself.
- 44:04Like articles written about us, how Gaylord's canceled and
- 44:08videos claiming that we're starting the smear campaigns and
- 44:12the hate campaigns again. Why are people getting
- 44:15interviewed about hating gaylors but Gaylors aren't actually
- 44:18getting interviewed about their real fucking taste?
- 44:21Have you ever seen a Gaylord interviewed on a magazine?
- 44:23I see. How many swifties have I seen
- 44:26being like Gaylors suck and it's like on fucking interview
- 44:28magazine? Not like swiftologist interview
- 44:32wasn't even about Gaylor, but they made that the fucking
- 44:36headline because they know people are interested in us
- 44:39because we're interesting. I'm sorry, we're interesting.
- 44:42We have actual opinions, we make fun content.
- 44:44We have a lot to say like so you are using US for click bait, but
- 44:49you're not actually even totally like he wasn't even talking
- 44:52about Gaylord besides telling us to kill ourselves, which I was
- 44:54like bro that like I couldn't even make a a video about that
- 44:59because I'm like I the like so. Pissed.
- 45:03I was like, yeah, like. When you are telling that to a
- 45:06group of like majority queer people, like I would say like
- 45:1098% of gaylors are queer. Like, do you understand what the
- 45:16suicide rates are in queer people?
- 45:18Evil evil insidious behavior and the moral the the gall to think
- 45:25that you're morally on on moral high ground for hating gaylors
- 45:30and that's too far for Taylor Swift.
- 45:32Yet you will tell people to kill themselves is what's really
- 45:36wrong with celebrity culture. We see a rise in hate in the
- 45:39comments and and then arise in obsessive love towards
- 45:44celebrities like that are not probably seeing these comments
- 45:47but who is like real queer people?
- 45:49Real queer people and queer kids.
- 45:51Like, yes, queer kids. Person should be fired and
- 45:55interview magazine putting this out and making the whole
- 45:58headline about gaylors. I think just goes to show that
- 46:01like exactly what Taylor Swift is doing that we she knows
- 46:05what's popular rise of like misogyny, sexism, tried life
- 46:09stuff and hopefully she's going to throw it back in their face,
- 46:13right. And I'm like, well, this
- 46:14pathologist, I hope you know Taylor Swift would hate you.
- 46:16Like. She would would.
- 46:19Meanwhile she has a good song on the life of a showgirl about
- 46:25what I assume is someone dying by suicide.
- 46:27Right, Like and that song ruined the friendship to me is so queer
- 46:31coded like so which I I don't know if you've seen it on
- 46:36Twitter. I didn't make a video about this
- 46:37either because I was like, it may be the same.
- 46:40I was. It's maybe crossing a line like.
- 46:42But I think we're going to talk about it here because it's like
- 46:44the real ones are just watching, you know.
- 46:46But like, yeah, she was at a funeral for a female high school
- 46:51classmate in 2023. Like, and if the life of a
- 46:54showgirl is written about things that were happening to her while
- 46:57she's on the airs tour, to me it makes more sense that it is
- 47:01about that classmate than it is about Jeff Lang, right?
- 47:04But that is the assumption that people are making is that it's
- 47:06about Jeff Lang because, right, That is the one person they know
- 47:10in Taylor Swift's life. That was a boy that.
- 47:13Right, and that she chose to share with, you know, Swifties
- 47:17and with her community. But like, I think that song is
- 47:22so queer coded because how many how many times as a lesbian have
- 47:28you had a best friend who you're like, are we going to kiss or is
- 47:32this going to fuck up our friendship?
- 47:34Right? Like is this going to fuck up
- 47:36our friendship if we do this? But like I want to do it anyways
- 47:39and I want to maybe ruin the friendship or maybe it won't
- 47:41ruin the friendship like. That is such it's unsafe.
- 47:46All of my partners, anyone I've ever like hooked up with has
- 47:48been someone that I was like best friends with.
- 47:51And then like through that, you know, we like, oh, that is like
- 47:56that is such. That is the lesbian experience
- 47:58right there. And that song is so sapphic to
- 48:02me. And like so obviously queer,
- 48:06queer like. And then with that, like the
- 48:08Taylor Swift was at that funeral in 2023, like.
- 48:10That picture there? Connects connects the dots
- 48:14again. I haven't made like a TikTok
- 48:16about it because I'm like. Same.
- 48:17I didn't want to like. I was the family of that woman,
- 48:20right? Like I.
- 48:22Yeah, there's a lot we don't know about Taylor Swift's life.
- 48:25Before we go, do we want to talk about some predictions?
- 48:29Do you have any hopes or dreams of what's going to come next?
- 48:33What do you when do you think we might get Rep?
- 48:37Vault tracks. I don't know, honestly, I think
- 48:41it would be really funny if she never gave them to us just cuz
- 48:45like, I, I mean, I want them so bad, obviously, like I'm so
- 48:49curious what they are. But I totally could see her
- 48:52being like, no, like you don't, you don't get these.
- 48:55And I feel like it would have to be 1413.
- 48:58Yeah, like, I don't know if like she'd want to wrap up the
- 49:02masters and all of that before. Right.
- 49:07Like forget. Nobody gives a fuck about Tapia.
- 49:09No one gives a fuck. I'm just like, hello, we only
- 49:13have so much time left. If she wants to release TS 13 in
- 49:182026, which I would assume based on the I bet you thing about me
- 49:21Kate or it's like 1326, whatever, I don't know.
- 49:25Do you think? She's gotta have that like
- 49:26closed before. Yeah.
- 49:29We can do TS13 'cause I feel like TS 13 is gonna be really
- 49:33big, you know, like I, I had someone ask me like, do you
- 49:36think Taylor Swift is coming out on her birthday?
- 49:38And I'm like, I don't know. I don't know if she'll ever
- 49:40formally like come out. I feel like she is out to the
- 49:43people who, the people in the industry, the people around her,
- 49:47the people that pick up on the queer themes.
- 49:50Like she feels very out to me and I.
- 49:52So I don't know if we will ever formally get like a unless it is
- 49:55truly like a her and Travis breaking the blender Shelley
- 49:59Wright style, you know, like coming out together, even if
- 50:02it's like they both are like we're yeah, we're we're
- 50:05genuinely in a relationship. We are getting married and
- 50:08we're. Bye for bye.
- 50:09Great. Love it.
- 50:10You both are queer as fuck, like undeniably queer as fuck.
- 50:15And that's why anytime I see them together, I'm like, you
- 50:17guys are giving such gay besties, like you are giving
- 50:20such, which could be bye for bye, you know, like they could
- 50:23be in a really real, genuine, loving relationship.
- 50:27I still think they're both queer, like undoubtedly.
- 50:30They're both queer. Don't know what that means for
- 50:32them in their relationship, but they're definitely queer.
- 50:34The pictures that he posted of them were like his first
- 50:37Instagram debut. And they're like in the snow.
- 50:40And I'm like you guys. Look so gay right now, right?
- 50:44And like if she does ever like come out, I feel like it would
- 50:47be through for lyricism right where like.
- 50:49I told you she's not going to be a press release.
- 50:52Right. Like, she's not going to like go
- 50:54on Ellen and be like. By the way.
- 50:56Like I'm gay. Like it's going to be like.
- 51:00I don't even know about Ellen to show.
- 51:02Anymore, but like that's she how she came out, how Ellen came out
- 51:05like on the magazine cover, I feel like is what people like
- 51:09people who say like stop speculating.
- 51:11That's what they want from her in order for it to be like, OK,
- 51:15and I'm like, no, she wrote about her argumentative,
- 51:18antithetical dream girl in Midnight.
- 51:20It's like she. Still didn't get it.
- 51:22Like, what is she going to be? Yeah, right.
- 51:24And so I feel like it will be like lyrically, whether that is
- 51:27through like the Rep fault tracks and she's using she her
- 51:31pronouns that are like, because she already has in so many
- 51:34songs, but that it's like so obvious, you know, so
- 51:37undeniable. Yeah.
- 51:39Or through TS13, there will be obvious love songs about women.
- 51:45Like if she is ever to like formally come out, that's kind
- 51:48of how I envision it of like, it won't be her being like, I'm
- 51:52blank and like labeling yourself.
- 51:54It'll just be a like, this is a love song about a woman that I'm
- 51:58writing. Taylor Swift is right.
- 52:00You know, like, do with that what you will.
- 52:03And unfortunately, I still think there will be a lot of people
- 52:05who are like, yeah, that's she. She wrote that from the man's
- 52:09perspective. She that's just James.
- 52:11That's like what? James is driver, So like I
- 52:14totally agree, right? I think like do you, what do you
- 52:18think is going to happen with this documentary?
- 52:20Do you think that they're going to be queer at all, or do you
- 52:23think it's going to be like furthering the whole Tavis, I
- 52:27don't know, story that we're seeing through like the
- 52:30showgirl? I feel like it's going to be the
- 52:33the Tavis story more unfortunately.
- 52:36I think we already saw like, some peaks of him, but I think
- 52:40it's going to be more like played up, you know, like, I
- 52:42feel like it's going to be very obvious to the people who can
- 52:45see it that it's a performance. You know, like the fact that
- 52:48they chose in the trailer to include the I can do it with a
- 52:51broken heart performance. Like rehearsals.
- 52:53I'm like, yeah, that tells me everything I need to know right
- 52:55there. Like they're going to highlight
- 52:57that performance because they're like, OK, you didn't get it the
- 53:00first time when we brought him out on stage and he was one of
- 53:02the men that forced her to perform.
- 53:04So now we're going to show you the rehearsal for that, you
- 53:08know, and like, I think we're going to be able to see their
- 53:10relationship dynamics a little bit more.
- 53:13And I feel like it's going to be giving like I made a video about
- 53:16this, but you know, the part of Miss Americano where she like
- 53:18runs to Joe and he's in the Black Hat and like Travis is
- 53:22also wearing a Black Hat and she's running to him breezy.
- 53:26Like I feel like it's going to be really played up of like,
- 53:31we're working. This is a performance, you know,
- 53:33like we're doing this for the cameras that are right in front
- 53:35of your face filming us right now.
- 53:39I'm sure she'll be in some really gay outfits.
- 53:41I feel like anytime we see like director Tay or like behind the
- 53:44scenes Tay, it's like so astronomically gay.
- 53:48Different. And just like.
- 53:51It's crazy how different her aesthetic is when she is like
- 53:57not on stage, performing in an interview, etcetera, and when
- 54:01she's just like working or like just like.
- 54:04Well, there was like one time we saw her leaving the Eras Tour in
- 54:08a normal outfit, and she was in that light sweater, the baggy
- 54:13jeans, the loafers, and then never again.
- 54:15She always left in the bodysuit after that.
- 54:17And I was like, yeah, because you got called out on being so
- 54:20gay. Gay walk.
- 54:21Like she has her like, pap walk, showgirl performance walk of
- 54:25like, but yeah, that one, she's just like walking.
- 54:28It's so I'm like, yeah, that's a gay walk I'm getting.
- 54:31Just thinking about it like. People who aren't queer don't
- 54:36pick up on those things, right? Like I say all the time, like
- 54:39there's gay face, there's gay hands, there's gay walk, and
- 54:41like straight people are like, what the fuck are you talking
- 54:44about? But queer people want to say
- 54:45that. Fucked up to say right and I'm
- 54:48like. But no.
- 54:48But when I say that to queer people, they're like, yeah, duh,
- 54:51that person has gay face. That person has gay hands.
- 54:54Like, queer people see it. That's why it's queer flags, you
- 54:58know, like. I just think, even if you don't
- 55:00think that she's queer, why do you care that other people do,
- 55:06right? I can't get past that.
- 55:09And I think at the end of the day, it comes down to like
- 55:12protecting someone that you feel like you are very, very close
- 55:16with that you are not. Right.
- 55:18That like, parasocialism of like, yeah, my emotional
- 55:22support, Taylor Swift, I need to, like, protect her from these
- 55:25evil gaylers. And it's like, she really
- 55:27doesn't give a fuck. And if she is mine, she's had
- 55:30millions of opportunities to, like, shut it down, say
- 55:34anything. She never has.
- 55:35And like the CNN article from her, whoever the fuck it was,
- 55:39I'm like, I don't buy it. I don't buy it.
- 55:41I. Can like.
- 55:43Right. Like she's never used CNN.
- 55:46What are you talking? If it was people, I would be
- 55:49like, OK, maybe this was tree pain like like and also of
- 55:53course Taylor Swift, the brand is going to shut that down.
- 55:56But the amount of times that tree pain and specifically
- 55:59Taylor Swift herself in tweets, Instagram stories, interviews,
- 56:03she's done so many interviews. She could have had them, had
- 56:06them like do a very soft fall about sexuality or whatever.
- 56:11And she could have, she could have handled the situation and
- 56:13said something in a very perfected way if she wanted to.
- 56:17And she hasn't like she, the amount of edits that went into
- 56:21new heights. Like if you look at the watch
- 56:23the new Heights podcast, there's cheering in the back from like
- 56:2550 staffers that are there being like, remind you to say this,
- 56:29say this, say this, and then we'll edit out everything
- 56:32perfectly. Like she could say something if
- 56:34she wanted to, right? She's had and she's a big girl.
- 56:37Also. I think about that like early
- 56:39Lady Gaga interview where the interviewer is asking her like
- 56:43I've heard you're you have a penis or you have a male, a male
- 56:48appendage. Like is that true?
- 56:50And she's like, I don't care. My fans don't care.
- 56:53Why would I waste my time addressing if that's true or
- 56:57not? Like, and I feel like people
- 57:00assume like Taylor Swift if she's not queer is going to
- 57:04think that's a bad thing. But like if she truly is just an
- 57:07ally, which as we've said, if she is an ally, she's just a
- 57:10really shitty ally, like who's Co opting queer culture.
- 57:14But if she truly is just an ally, she wouldn't give a fuck
- 57:17if people are thinking she's queer because if you are truly
- 57:21an ally, you understand that queerness is not a bad thing.
- 57:25And so it doesn't matter if people assume that about you
- 57:28know. So like the people who feel like
- 57:29they need to defend her, like I feel like need to get that
- 57:34through their like, if you are defending Taylor Swift against
- 57:37against being queer, you are assuming queerness is a bad
- 57:41thing. And that's a you problem.
- 57:42That's not a me problem. That's not a Gaylord problem.
- 57:45That's not a Taylor Swift problem.
- 57:46Like that personal problem. Right.
- 57:48Like when queerness was illegal, how do you think queer people
- 57:51found each other they speculated on?
- 57:52Each other's sexuality. Like that's.
- 57:54People's hand. Historically been exactly We
- 57:57looked at people's hands. We looked at the carabiners like
- 57:59the. Usual we have.
- 58:01Much to talk about. Yeah, so much to talk, talk
- 58:02about. Thank you so much for coming on
- 58:06again. Thank you.
- 58:07For having me, it's so fun. We should have another
- 58:10conversation and not record it, have some stuff to catch up on
- 58:14just. Be a period.
- 58:16Amazing. OK yay.
- 58:18Do you want to plug your socials for people just in case they
- 58:21don't already follow you? Yeah if you guys want to follow
- 58:24me I mostly make gaylor content on TikTok.
- 58:26My AT is DJ Crocs DJCROCS. I yap a lot about Taylor and all
- 58:33things gay. Yay, we love Jordan.
- 58:37Thanks for having me. I think I'm going to go live and
- 58:41this is like in two months, but when the first episodes of the
- 58:45documentary are released. Documentary.
- 58:48And yeah, just remind her to go subscribe on YouTube if you
- 58:52haven't already. And that really means a lot for
- 58:54me and checking out my Patreon content, following me and
- 58:59Jordan. Let us know what you think.
- 59:02Keep us updated with your theories.
- 59:03Yes and yeah. We'll see you soon.
- 59:05Thank you. Bye bye.
