- 0:01Speaker 1: Hey everyone, it's Jackie Gilitschneider and Jen Fessler and we
- 0:06Speaker 1: are two Jersey Jays and happy almost New Years to everyone.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Be almost New Year's. I'm actually quite excited that we
- 0:14Speaker 2: are side by to twenty twenty four.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I am too, But why are you?
- 0:20Speaker 2: I mean, I think this very very hopeful for twenty
- 0:24Speaker 2: twenty five. It's been a hard year. I think it's
- 0:27Speaker 2: been a hard year for everyone. It's been a hard
- 0:28Speaker 2: year for our country. It's been not to start out
- 0:31Speaker 2: as Debbie Downer, but you know, it's been so divisive.
- 0:35Speaker 2: What's happening in Israel has plagued us both, I know,
- 0:38Speaker 2: and it's still happening all year. I'm hopeful for some
- 0:42Speaker 2: peace and some exciting change in the new year. Yeah,
- 0:49Speaker 2: I'm with you, but it hasn't all been bad. But yes,
- 0:54Speaker 2: I must say, as a Jewish woman, I have carried
- 0:57Speaker 2: a weight on my shoulders every single day. And not
- 1:00Speaker 2: not that the anti Semitism that's like destroying the world
- 1:04Speaker 2: right now has impacted me so greatly, but I think
- 1:09Speaker 2: living in a.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Town that has a hostage, so there's a hostage from
- 1:14Speaker 1: my town, and it's I think about that family all
- 1:17Speaker 1: the time, and I just I'm really sad. I'm sad
- 1:22Speaker 1: I think about you know, when I look at the
- 1:24Speaker 1: girls that are being held hostage, but they look like
- 1:27Speaker 1: the same as my daughter, you know, And it's really
- 1:30Speaker 1: hard to take myself out of that and say this
- 1:33Speaker 1: is about other people, because it's not like I'm is Israeli.
- 1:37Speaker 1: And it's just been hard. It's been hard to know
- 1:40Speaker 1: that's still happening every day. We haven't really spoken about
- 1:43Speaker 1: it a lot here, I know, because it's politically divisive,
- 1:46Speaker 1: which shouldn't be. I mean, there should be no political
- 1:49Speaker 1: divisiveness to the fact that like you support creating these
- 1:53Speaker 1: innocent hostages and.
- 1:55Speaker 2: That you're against anti Semitism, yeah, which is running rampant.
- 1:59Speaker 2: But anyway, for another time.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yes, so let's talk New Year's because like it's here,
- 2:06Speaker 1: I know, what are you doing? What's your plan?
- 2:09Speaker 2: Well, actually, by the time that you guys are hearing this,
- 2:12Speaker 2: I'm going to be on a plane home from Mexico,
- 2:15Speaker 2: which I'm so excited about it.
- 2:17Speaker 1: That's nice. Get out of the snow weather a little bit.
- 2:19Speaker 1: It's so cold. I feel like it just went from
- 2:21Speaker 1: like summer to winter and now with the time change,
- 2:23Speaker 1: like it goes from if there's no afternoon, it's like
- 2:26Speaker 1: morning and then it's nighttime. You know. So I'm going
- 2:29Speaker 1: to nice bro, Yeah it will.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I'm going to celebrate on the day though, so going
- 2:33Speaker 2: to a friend's house. We're all going to be in
- 2:35Speaker 2: pj's and I'm going to bring over some black eyed peas,
- 2:39Speaker 2: which is a very Southern tradition. You have to eat
- 2:42Speaker 2: black eyed peas on the New Year. Poor good luck.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Oh. I love that. I went to a pajama party
- 2:47Speaker 1: at a friend's house the other day. We did a
- 2:49Speaker 1: cookie swop, Like everybody baked cookies and then we put
- 2:54Speaker 1: them all out. There was like twenty of us and
- 2:56Speaker 1: we put all the cookie platters out on a table
- 2:59Speaker 1: and everyone went around and took home like four of
- 3:02Speaker 1: everyone else's cookies for themselves. My kids. You loved it
- 3:08Speaker 1: and crazy. Yeah. So okay, So New Year's Eve, you're
- 3:13Speaker 1: gonna be in Mexico. New Year's Day, you'll be with
- 3:15Speaker 1: your friends. That's really nice.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I'll be flying home from Mexico, so I'll probably be
- 3:18Speaker 2: a little depressed, but then New Year's Day, I will
- 3:21Speaker 2: be with my friends.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that's nice. That always feeds yourself. I love being
- 3:25Speaker 1: about your friends. I really prioritize my girlfriends. I love
- 3:29Speaker 1: I love being around them. It always makes me feel
- 3:32Speaker 1: good when I am with them. What about like lately
- 3:35Speaker 1: with you? I'm sorry, interpt.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I just I feel like lately, ever since like the show,
- 3:39Speaker 2: I just see you with your friends, like very often
- 3:42Speaker 2: on have prioritize them. It's since the show has been
- 3:47Speaker 2: on pause. It's a very different feel, right, It's like.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm I'm like, you know, I love the show
- 3:53Speaker 1: and I do hope that it keeps going. But in
- 3:55Speaker 1: the meantime, I'm like enjoying a little bit of the break,
- 3:58Speaker 1: right I am. I'm trying out new projects. I'm prioritizing friendships.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I really have extra time for my family. It's been nice. Yeah,
- 4:07Speaker 1: it's been good anyway. So you know, for many years,
- 4:12Speaker 1: Evan is not the partier than I am. I could
- 4:15Speaker 1: go out five nights a week, and he likes going
- 4:20Speaker 1: out about once a week, and then he's hit his
- 4:22Speaker 1: social max and he's busy. I mean, he works full time.
- 4:26Speaker 1: He's always with the kids at basketball, and he likes
- 4:29Speaker 1: to sit on the couch and he doesn't care. You know,
- 4:31Speaker 1: he's not ashamed of it. But he does like to
- 4:33Speaker 1: go out, like once a week, but that's his night out,
- 4:36Speaker 1: and that's fine. But New Year's we've got into this
- 4:40Speaker 1: routine of not doing anything. And I was okay with
- 4:44Speaker 1: that for a while, but now kind of feeling like,
- 4:46Speaker 1: you know, now one of my almost seventeen year olds
- 4:49Speaker 1: loves going out. So if he's gonna be out and
- 4:53Speaker 1: I have to wait up for him anyway, and I
- 4:55Speaker 1: probably have to pick him up, then I might as
- 4:58Speaker 1: well go out, right. So I don't know, we're trying
- 5:02Speaker 1: to decide now because we've, like for a decade, have
- 5:04Speaker 1: not done anything.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I don't love New Year's Eve and I don't love
- 5:07Speaker 2: going out, so both of those combined, I mean, Jeff
- 5:10Speaker 2: is it's always very surprising to people that know us
- 5:14Speaker 2: that Jeff is way more interested in going out at night.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Like, so maybe maybe I'll send Evan to your house
- 5:21Speaker 1: and you can hang on the cap at him. You know,
- 5:24Speaker 1: I love that, You know I love that Evan Goldschneider. Yeah,
- 5:27Speaker 1: he's a cutie. So let's see. So let's let's talk
- 5:30Speaker 1: about the year a little bit, so we are ready
- 5:32Speaker 1: at the top. You know, talked about some of the
- 5:35Speaker 1: ships and there's no denying there was shit, and on
- 5:39Speaker 1: both sides of the political aisle there were shits. Right.
- 5:42Speaker 1: That was ye, so divisive. I've never seen an election
- 5:45Speaker 1: like this in my life.
- 5:47Speaker 2: It's horrible. Process leading up to it was horrible. It's
- 5:52Speaker 2: I know that for some people they're they're still in morning.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Some people are thrilled penceil you ask, but divisive for sure.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I just hopeful. I mean like, it is what
- 6:02Speaker 1: it is, So there's no point in being thrilled, upset
- 6:07Speaker 1: whatever it is, what it is. Now let's see, right, yes,
- 6:11Speaker 1: now let's see. So, Jen, what was the best thing
- 6:15Speaker 1: that happened to you this year? Something good?
- 6:19Speaker 2: No, it's like you know you always as a mom,
- 6:22Speaker 2: I my first thought is always like I always feel
- 6:26Speaker 2: good when good things happen to my kids. Right, So
- 6:29Speaker 2: it's that And my therapist would probably say learn to separate,
- 6:33Speaker 2: probably very dysfunctional, But I think about my kids just
- 6:37Speaker 2: being having good things happened to them. Zach got into
- 6:39Speaker 2: law school, which is which is so exciting. Rachel moved
- 6:45Speaker 2: into the city, which she absolutely loves, and she's working
- 6:51Speaker 2: in pr and she loves that, and so those things
- 6:55Speaker 2: occur to me. But probably that's the wrong way of
- 6:58Speaker 2: thinking about it, right, Like, no.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Why being a mom is such an amazing part of
- 7:03Speaker 1: your life. And also like it's not just your kids
- 7:08Speaker 1: accomplishing them Like they're accomplishing this because they have a
- 7:10Speaker 1: support system behind them and because they know that you're there.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I mean, don't take yourself out of your children's accomplishments.
- 7:19Speaker 2: I absolutely agree with that, But I like everything else,
- 7:23Speaker 2: you know, I want to have my own things going on,
- 7:26Speaker 2: and I think it's so helpful, especially for an empty nester.
- 7:28Speaker 2: So we've had a few really you know, fun things.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I mean, this podcast, well that happened last year.
- 7:35Speaker 1: But still but like we got renewed, We're yes, we
- 7:38Speaker 1: got nude. That was exciting.
- 7:40Speaker 2: I loved, I am loving having the segment that I'm
- 7:44Speaker 2: doing on page six. I don't know you guys, have
- 7:47Speaker 2: anyone's listening to it, but on page six I talk
- 7:50Speaker 2: about pop culture with Evan and Danny, Like that's been
- 7:53Speaker 2: really fun in a way to sort of separate out
- 7:57Speaker 2: of the housewives world. We don't discuss housewives, but we
- 8:00Speaker 2: discuss what's going on, you know, all around the world,
- 8:03Speaker 2: just pop culture, so nothing deep, and it's fun to
- 8:06Speaker 2: just sort of be still in front of the camera
- 8:11Speaker 2: a little. And but it's different dynamic, right, It's these
- 8:16Speaker 2: two fabulous men and we all love each other. It's
- 8:18Speaker 2: a big love fest and we laugh and we're a
- 8:21Speaker 2: little shady at times. But nothing that's going to get
- 8:23Speaker 2: me killed. So yeah, that's been really fun. What about you?
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah, the best thing that happened to me this year.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I don't know. It was a tough year. I mean
- 8:36Speaker 1: I think just that, like this is going to sound
- 8:39Speaker 1: silly and cliche, but just that everyone is like healthy
- 8:43Speaker 1: and happy, you know, Like I just like nothing, you know,
- 8:48Speaker 1: I had a challenging year. So in January, Aiden, my
- 8:52Speaker 1: my one of my older twins, we were at the
- 8:55Speaker 1: Madonna concert the night that he broke his knee, mean right,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and he broke his knee, he broke his leg. He
- 9:02Speaker 1: had a horrific surgery. He was home for a month
- 9:08Speaker 1: after that. He was in so much pain. It was
- 9:12Speaker 1: I was crying, like all day. I slept. I had
- 9:16Speaker 1: slept in a bed with him downstairs because he couldn't
- 9:19Speaker 1: move and so he was immobile. So it was a
- 9:24Speaker 1: really hard month. And then I homeschooled him and then
- 9:29Speaker 1: he finally made his way back into sports by May,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and in July he broke his shoulder. So it's been
- 9:37Speaker 1: you know, like watching your kids suffer through something and
- 9:40Speaker 1: I know that you've been through this too. It's really hard,
- 9:43Speaker 1: you know, it's hard. Now that all my kids are
- 9:46Speaker 1: like healthy and doing well, I'm kind of like savoring
- 9:54Speaker 1: that part of it. Like the fact that I'm not
- 9:56Speaker 1: like said about it. I'm getting is a thing. I
- 10:01Speaker 1: get that.
- 10:01Speaker 2: What they don't tell you about having kids is that
- 10:05Speaker 2: you are always, at least for me, I'm even in
- 10:09Speaker 2: my happiest moments, I'm a little nervous, like I'm always
- 10:13Speaker 2: or you know, I'm thrilled when my kids are happy.
- 10:16Speaker 2: If they're not, it affects me. It's a very difficult.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You know, you have this part of yourself that you
- 10:22Speaker 2: have no control over, right, and you shouldn't. I mean,
- 10:25Speaker 2: the kids have to live their own lives. It's how
- 10:27Speaker 2: you raise them. But you're always sort of just a.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Little bit on edge. Where are they what are they doing?
- 10:33Speaker 1: Are they good? Yeah? Especially now I two that are
- 10:37Speaker 1: gonna start driving soon, and I how do I do that?
- 10:42Speaker 1: Like I am said, I don't mind driving with them
- 10:45Speaker 1: and teaching them to drive and do it all the time.
- 10:47Speaker 1: But I'm so nervous for them to get their license. Yeah, nervous,
- 10:52Speaker 1: it's not that is not easy. Yeah, there's so much that.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I mean, I'm always worried because my daughter is a
- 11:00Speaker 1: chronic illness. You just type in my beads and that's
- 11:02Speaker 1: always kind of something that's you know, with me, I'm
- 11:04Speaker 1: thinking about.
- 11:05Speaker 2: And but then other stuff there. Yeah, when when both
- 11:07Speaker 2: my kids got their licenses, I was a nervous wrap.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I wouldn't even I couldn't be in the car with
- 11:13Speaker 2: them teaching them. So that was all about jeff. Oh,
- 11:16Speaker 2: I couldn't bear it. It was I freaked out, which
- 11:20Speaker 2: freaked them out. I just I had no.
- 11:24Speaker 1: But we also we haven't really been on many highways.
- 11:26Speaker 1: We haven't done anything super challenging. So that's the come
- 11:29Speaker 1: But okay, so what was the most challenging thing that
- 11:32Speaker 1: happened to you this year and how did you?
- 11:38Speaker 2: I would say that, well, actually, I've been looking at
- 11:41Speaker 2: these questions a little bit, and I would say that
- 11:46Speaker 2: it's challenging and rewarding to be an empty nester. I
- 11:49Speaker 2: know that again back to the kids, but there are
- 11:53Speaker 2: times where I've sort of walked around my house, and
- 11:57Speaker 2: especially with the show being on pause and and it's
- 12:02Speaker 2: trying to figure it all out. You know, I'm at
- 12:04Speaker 2: the age now fifty six and what does the rest
- 12:07Speaker 2: of my life look like. It's it's an interesting thing
- 12:10Speaker 2: to consider. And also like being in this house. I
- 12:13Speaker 2: mean this, I'm suburban New Jersey in this you know,
- 12:16Speaker 2: colonial with we're paying taxes for the schools, and like
- 12:20Speaker 2: what's the point?
- 12:21Speaker 1: So what are we? What is our next step?
- 12:23Speaker 2: So that's always on my mind and I think that
- 12:27Speaker 2: has been a challenge, but also it's been at times
- 12:30Speaker 2: of delight. My house is well not always need the
- 12:33Speaker 2: kids to come home a lot, but like you know,
- 12:35Speaker 2: just waking up jeff Lee's at six thirty every morning.
- 12:38Speaker 2: And there are days I'm really busy, and there are
- 12:40Speaker 2: days that I have nothing going on. The days that
- 12:42Speaker 2: I have nothing going on, I think I get in
- 12:45Speaker 2: a slump. I get a little depressed. And the days
- 12:48Speaker 2: that I'm yeah, but.
- 12:49Speaker 1: You had so much going on the other days, you
- 12:51Speaker 1: don't just savor those days. It's like I can relax today.
- 12:54Speaker 2: You know, I think it might seem like I have
- 12:57Speaker 2: so much going on, Like on social media, if you
- 12:59Speaker 2: follow myself for media, although I don't think I posted
- 13:01Speaker 2: that much recently, but I'm posting like events I'm going
- 13:04Speaker 2: to right and I'm I'm posting stuff that I'm doing,
- 13:07Speaker 2: which yeah, I mean that definitely takes time and keeps
- 13:10Speaker 2: me busy, but on a daily I'm not necessarily like
- 13:15Speaker 2: I do the page six thing. Once a week, you
- 13:17Speaker 2: and I record our podcast, you know, that's that's an
- 13:21Speaker 2: hour every couple weeks.
- 13:23Speaker 1: It's so I'm always.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Posting about those things or I'm going to an event,
- 13:28Speaker 2: or I'm but there's a lot of downtime for me
- 13:30Speaker 2: now without having the kids in the house, and you know,
- 13:33Speaker 2: I fill it with friends. And I actually knew this
- 13:37Speaker 2: year is working out, and but I'm always better when
- 13:41Speaker 2: I'm busier, when I've got something like my One of
- 13:43Speaker 2: my favorite times was when I was writing the song
- 13:47Speaker 2: when I was learning guitar and writing the song for
- 13:50Speaker 2: the end for the finale of the Housewives.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that was a great song.
- 13:53Speaker 2: So that was one of my favorite things that happened
- 13:55Speaker 2: this year, was writing that silly song. That was just
- 14:00Speaker 2: I love doing that so much. It's so it was
- 14:03Speaker 2: so creative and it was I don't know. It was
- 14:07Speaker 2: so satisfying for me. And then, of course, in true
- 14:11Speaker 2: gen festal form, I didn't pick up the guitar again
- 14:13Speaker 2: when it was over.
- 14:14Speaker 1: So, but oh didn't you write Challenge Part two? Yeah?
- 14:19Speaker 1: But then yeah, that was pretty soon after. Oh okay, oh,
- 14:23Speaker 1: and you haven't written. You know, I play the piano
- 14:26Speaker 1: so and I know every time my house is empty,
- 14:29Speaker 1: I play. I can't play when people are home because really, yeah,
- 14:33Speaker 1: because they don't like the noise from it. But also,
- 14:37Speaker 1: like I don't know, they like make fun.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Of me, right, they make fun of me, to think
- 14:42Speaker 3: at my house they associate piano with like something I
- 14:45Speaker 3: forced them to do when they were little, and I
- 14:48Speaker 3: really just went back to it.
- 14:50Speaker 1: But I'm very good. I'd like, I want to get
- 14:53Speaker 1: a I want to get like a ten to twenty
- 14:57Speaker 1: song rotation that I can play just by heart. And
- 15:02Speaker 1: I want to I want to play in a band
- 15:04Speaker 1: one day. That's like a bucket list thing for me,
- 15:06Speaker 1: just for one day, just one night only, Jackie Goldschnighter,
- 15:09Speaker 1: one night only. I love that.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Playing a band, Yeah, I love that. So twenty twenty five, baby, yeah,
- 15:15Speaker 2: let's see, let's see.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I have a couple of projects that I want to
- 15:18Speaker 1: accomplish in twenty twenty five. But funny thing that happened
- 15:22Speaker 1: to you this year? I can't think. I don't know
- 15:24Speaker 1: any like I'm sure I have. I'm sure we're going
- 15:27Speaker 1: to sign off from this, and I'm that was the
- 15:29Speaker 1: funny thing that happened to me this year. I'm trying
- 15:31Speaker 1: to remember, Like I did laugh a lot this year,
- 15:34Speaker 1: but I don't know. I don't know if there was
- 15:37Speaker 1: anything particularly really funny.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Well, I went to Vietnam with Jeff this year, and
- 15:44Speaker 2: we laughed our way through that trip. Whether it was
- 15:48Speaker 2: we went on this uh these motor scooters what they called,
- 15:53Speaker 2: I don't know what they could pads, the mopads or
- 15:55Speaker 2: whatever it is, so we circle around them. I'm want
- 16:01Speaker 2: to say, was it in it's gone. I don't remember exactly,
- 16:04Speaker 2: but uh, we stopped off. The tour had a stopping off.
- 16:10Speaker 2: It was like a food tour, and we were so
- 16:13Speaker 2: sick to our stomachs by the time it ended. There
- 16:16Speaker 2: was so it went on for hours, and I just
- 16:18Speaker 2: remember like he and I trying to be so polite
- 16:22Speaker 2: to these tour guides and both of us being there's
- 16:26Speaker 2: just and you know, and being with him, just him,
- 16:29Speaker 2: would that far away. We always have were always able
- 16:33Speaker 2: to make fun of each other and laugh, and that
- 16:35Speaker 2: whole trip we were it was one of those like
- 16:38Speaker 2: moments in time where we were in awe of Vietnam
- 16:43Speaker 2: but also just hysterical the entire time. The culture is
- 16:46Speaker 2: so different than ours and you know, getting used to
- 16:48Speaker 2: that and being I don't know, on fishing boats and
- 16:53Speaker 2: we it was fun and we laughed a lot.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Yeah, probably traveling. Yeah, we went to we took the
- 16:59Speaker 1: kids to Europe the first time. We went to Italy.
- 17:02Speaker 1: We spent a week in Rome with the kids, and
- 17:04Speaker 1: it was just amazing. I am like, I was flabbergasted
- 17:08Speaker 1: by how many people watch the show that were in Rome.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I got stopped constantly, Like Vietnam, you watched the show,
- 17:15Speaker 1: especially people from like London, people from Canada. They love
- 17:23Speaker 1: these shows. They watch all of them. I don't think
- 17:26Speaker 1: I watched any shows from overseas.
- 17:28Speaker 2: It's true though, I remember when I was in in Rams,
- 17:31Speaker 2: I got stopped a couple times. Yeah, like in weird
- 17:35Speaker 2: places like shopping or whatever.
- 17:36Speaker 1: You're Worldwidefesla, I'm worldwide, baby. Let's fast forward just for
- 17:49Speaker 1: one second, since we're on the topic of shows, I
- 17:52Speaker 1: have to tell you I just watched a show. I'm
- 17:53Speaker 1: not going to ruin it obviously for anyone, and I
- 17:56Speaker 1: really liked it all the way through, and then my
- 17:59Speaker 1: mind was is freaking blown in the last episode. It's
- 18:03Speaker 1: called Disclaimer. Have you watched that? No with what's her name?
- 18:11Speaker 1: Oh god, that blonde actress. I'm blinking right now. That
- 18:15Speaker 1: was a hold on, let me remember hold on one second.
- 18:18Speaker 1: It was Kevin Kleine n Klein, the woman who's married
- 18:23Speaker 1: to Sean Penn, who's absolutely Robin Wright. No, no, she
- 18:29Speaker 1: was married to him a million years ago.
- 18:33Speaker 2: He's married Sean Penn. Now I thought he was just
- 18:35Speaker 2: new young Sorry, okay, yeah.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I think I think Leila George is married to Sean Penn.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Oh no, she was married to him for two years.
- 18:45Speaker 1: She's much much younger than him. She's absolutely stunning. It's
- 18:48Speaker 1: called Disclaimer. Okay, really good. The last episode really blew
- 18:53Speaker 1: me away. So watch it. If you haven't watched it,
- 18:55Speaker 1: watch it, well, absolutely watch it. This was I watched
- 18:58Speaker 1: a lot of TV this year. I have to say
- 19:00Speaker 1: I did a lot of TV. Did you watch that?
- 19:02Speaker 2: Yeah, Well that's the thing is that like when I
- 19:05Speaker 2: am home and I have the day, I'm such a slug. Also,
- 19:09Speaker 2: so we talked about this, Jack, But like if I'm
- 19:12Speaker 2: home and I've got nothing going on, I'm in my
- 19:13Speaker 2: bed period.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Really, Oh I'm cleaning out clothes. People aren't, no way,
- 19:19Speaker 1: but I'm crazy. Yeah, well I'm crazy too, But I'm
- 19:22Speaker 1: crazy in the bed, and I well crazy in the bed.
- 19:25Speaker 1: You know. Well don't let's not be silly.
- 19:28Speaker 2: But I am streaming and eating and talking on the
- 19:32Speaker 2: phone and staring at the TV while I'm looking at
- 19:34Speaker 2: my other device whatever. But yeah, I stream a lot.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I'm very grateful for what.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Do you watch reality shows? Or do you watch because
- 19:41Speaker 1: I know people are always looking for like a show
- 19:44Speaker 1: to watch.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Yes, I definitely watch reality shows. So it's a lot
- 19:47Speaker 2: of that. So you know, we've talked about this. But
- 19:50Speaker 2: I don't know if you know this about me, But
- 19:51Speaker 2: I'm a Housewives junkie.
- 19:53Speaker 1: So you watch all of them?
- 19:54Speaker 2: I'm just kidding, but no, I do. I watch most
- 19:57Speaker 2: of them, not all of them, but I watch most
- 19:58Speaker 2: of them. Yeah, and I have watched New York this season.
- 20:02Speaker 2: I haven't. I need to watch Salt Lake City. I'm
- 20:06Speaker 2: behind on Beverly Hills just by like one episode. But
- 20:11Speaker 2: I've watched all the Potomac me too. I watched all
- 20:15Speaker 2: of Orange County. That was fantastic. Yep, yeah, I'm but yeah,
- 20:20Speaker 2: I gotta watch Salt Lake City.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I heard it's great, so well. Yeah.
- 20:24Speaker 2: So it's a lot of time spent on reality TV
- 20:27Speaker 2: for sure. And then Jeff is always suggesting something that
- 20:31Speaker 2: I don't know. We're always what do we just watch
- 20:34Speaker 2: My God Cross with Alex? The guy's name is Alex Cross.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's James Patterson.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, which I loved until I didn't read
- 20:44Speaker 2: those books.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Watch. We watch a lot of House Hunters. We
- 20:50Speaker 1: love it. Play it like a game. Yeah, so like
- 20:52Speaker 1: we pause after they've seen all the houses. You know
- 20:55Speaker 1: how it works, right, like the real estate agent takes.
- 20:58Speaker 1: We only watched the international ones so we can like
- 21:00Speaker 1: fantasize about living somewhere else and not that New Jersey
- 21:03Speaker 1: is not like fabulous. But they they take the person
- 21:07Speaker 1: or couple to three different homes and then we pause
- 21:14Speaker 1: it and we bet which house they're gonna choose, and
- 21:17Speaker 1: it's so much fun. But it's like formulae, like one
- 21:21Speaker 1: person always wants to live in the city center, and
- 21:23Speaker 1: one person always wants to live in the suburbs, and
- 21:25Speaker 1: one person always wants to be by the water, and
- 21:27Speaker 1: one person always wants to be walking distance to the town.
- 21:30Speaker 1: You know. So it's like, but it's really fun and
- 21:33Speaker 1: it's mindless, and it's a half hour and it's easy.
- 21:36Speaker 1: It's all about the mindless TV. I mean, listen, and
- 21:38Speaker 1: we love Amazing Race. Actually, do you watch that? No,
- 21:42Speaker 1: we watch every season. We love it. I don't watch
- 21:46Speaker 1: HG TV only because it's on.
- 21:49Speaker 2: It runs on us in the Manic ever has it on?
- 21:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and they have a subtitles? Yeah? Yeah? What about
- 21:59Speaker 1: what about movie anything? You know, I haven't seen that
- 22:02Speaker 1: many movies in the movie theater. I've watched a few
- 22:04Speaker 1: on airplanes that I was like, I watched that one
- 22:08Speaker 1: that we talked about a long time ago. We did
- 22:09Speaker 1: an episode you and I on what was the topic,
- 22:14Speaker 1: but it was we were talking about the Anne Hathaway movie.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Maybe it was Our Intimacy one or I don't remember,
- 22:22Speaker 1: but we were like, oh, it was about being middle
- 22:25Speaker 1: aged women and being sort of like the forgotten years,
- 22:29Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, And I watched that Anne Hathaway movie
- 22:33Speaker 1: where she falls in love with the lead in the
- 22:36Speaker 1: rock band and he's much younger than her. Yeah, and yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 1: I remember that. You were like, I loved that movie. Yeah,
- 22:44Speaker 1: I love The movie that I'm dying to see is like, no,
- 22:48Speaker 1: I'd like to give you. But every movie I'm dying
- 22:50Speaker 1: to see is like it's in the theater for like
- 22:52Speaker 1: a minute and then it's out, like it's just in
- 22:54Speaker 1: the city.
- 22:55Speaker 2: So I haven't discovered. I have rediscovered movie theaters this year.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I like them too, but I'm not going to travel
- 23:04Speaker 1: an hour for it. So we saw We went to
- 23:07Speaker 1: the premiere of that that Roadhouse one. That was good, fine,
- 23:13Speaker 1: you know. Me and my girlfriend went on a girl
- 23:16Speaker 1: date to see Beetlejuice and that was fine, you know,
- 23:21Speaker 1: But I don't think I've seen anything really mind blowing.
- 23:24Speaker 1: But I'm dying to see Honora. You know that movie Anora,
- 23:27Speaker 1: And I'm also dying to see I love a biopic,
- 23:31Speaker 1: and I'm dying to see the Timothy shallow May one
- 23:35Speaker 1: Bob Dylan. I'm not so really, I don't.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I'm not a huge Timothy shallow May fan, and I'm
- 23:41Speaker 2: not a huge Bob Dylan fan.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I'll see it. We'll say, well, I'm not either. But
- 23:44Speaker 1: my favorite movies of all time A lot of them
- 23:47Speaker 1: have been is it biopic or biopic? It's biopic, right,
- 23:52Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know either.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I don't know, but I do love the ones, especially
- 23:56Speaker 2: when they're about musicians. I mean, yeah, so like John
- 24:00Speaker 2: Even was good.
- 24:03Speaker 1: We use my favorite and growing up, my favorite favorite
- 24:06Speaker 1: movie growing up was Great Balls of Fire. I loved
- 24:09Speaker 1: it so so hot. There's a scene in that movie
- 24:14Speaker 1: that still makes my hair stand up. It's like when
- 24:16Speaker 1: he's playing a whole lot of shaking going on and
- 24:19Speaker 1: the whole bar starts dancing. Oh my god, like scene
- 24:22Speaker 1: still think about.
- 24:23Speaker 2: If that movie was out now, okay, because what when when?
- 24:28Speaker 1: What's his name? Who? What's his name? No? Yeah, but
- 24:31Speaker 1: who what's his name? That he played Great Balls of Fires? Who? Oh?
- 24:34Speaker 1: Jerry Lee Lewis right, Jerry Lewis He married like a
- 24:37Speaker 1: thirteen year old or something, And like I don't remember
- 24:40Speaker 1: at the time even discussing that, like it wasn't even
- 24:45Speaker 1: right or even like in the nineties, like Jerry Seinfeld
- 24:48Speaker 1: was dating a seventeen year old Shawna. Yeah, I love
- 24:53Speaker 1: oh you could never although you do have Bill Belichick
- 24:56Speaker 1: dating like, Oh, I can't even with that, right, I mean,
- 24:59Speaker 1: it's just what's the appeal? I don't what, I don't know. Anyway,
- 25:02Speaker 1: we're going off on a tangent. But wait, I want
- 25:04Speaker 1: to talk about my favorite movie. Did you grow emotionally
- 25:07Speaker 1: this year? Wait?
- 25:08Speaker 2: I'm not fun talking about the movies because I want
- 25:10Speaker 2: to do it that I loved. I did love Wicked,
- 25:14Speaker 2: by the way, but but everybody, Oh, I didn't see
- 25:16Speaker 2: it amazing and we saw it at the IPIC, which
- 25:19Speaker 2: is like undercovers with the chicken fingers, and it was
- 25:23Speaker 2: just incredible.
- 25:23Speaker 1: But anyway, Oh, can I just tell you one thing
- 25:26Speaker 1: though that bothers me about Wicked is that Kristin Chenowith
- 25:29Speaker 1: used to like me and message. I used to talk
- 25:32Speaker 1: to her sometimes on Message and she followed me and
- 25:36Speaker 1: she doesn't like Teresa and so she has unfollowed me.
- 25:39Speaker 2: So I kind of that is heartbreaking. Although you do
- 25:43Speaker 2: know that Kristin chen well, she is in Wicked, she
- 25:45Speaker 2: is in this one, which was I understand that, and
- 25:51Speaker 2: I feel badly for you because I there's first of all,
- 25:53Speaker 2: Wicked was just unbelievable, but also I love me some
- 25:56Speaker 2: Kristin Chenow with I wish you hadn't told me that.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Now I'm sure she's lovely. I was Dimonzel, the very
- 26:04Speaker 2: minor friendship. Well this so the movie that I loved
- 26:08Speaker 2: was called A Real Pain and it was with Kieran
- 26:11Speaker 2: Coulkien and Jesse Eisenberg and it's about these cousins. I
- 26:19Speaker 2: don't want to give anything away, but they travel. Their
- 26:23Speaker 2: grandmother dies and so they travel. I'm going to get
- 26:28Speaker 2: this wrong, and it's so ridiculous. I want to say
- 26:31Speaker 2: they travel to I think it's Poland, right, Yeah, I
- 26:35Speaker 2: was going to say Germany. And it wasn't. Thank you, No,
- 26:37Speaker 2: I heard of it. It was really quite incredible, and
- 26:42Speaker 2: the acting in it was so superb over the top ridiculous.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Narent's the one who's in succession. Yes, correct, is unbelievable, unbelievable,
- 26:55Speaker 2: and he plays like this, this kind of a manic
- 26:58Speaker 2: young man, and Jesse Eisenberg plays this very uptight person
- 27:02Speaker 2: and they But the beautiful thing about it was it
- 27:05Speaker 2: was a lot about the Holocaust and finding their grandmother's
- 27:11Speaker 2: childhood home and talking about they I don't want to
- 27:14Speaker 2: give anything away, but it was so beautifully done. Really
- 27:18Speaker 2: haven't seen a movie like that where I walked away
- 27:24Speaker 2: just you know, feeling like I had been sort of transported. Yep,
- 27:27Speaker 2: it's called a real pain.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Tell me if you have grown emotionally or spiritually this year,
- 27:42Speaker 1: certainly hope.
- 27:42Speaker 2: So, since I pay almost two hundred dollars a week
- 27:44Speaker 2: for therapy, yeah, tell you.
- 27:46Speaker 1: I had therapy this morning and.
- 27:49Speaker 2: We spoke about about Rachel, about my daughter, and she
- 27:55Speaker 2: was going through something over the last couple of days.
- 27:59Speaker 2: And I've learned she's twenty two years old. When she
- 28:01Speaker 2: goes through something. We started out talking about this, but
- 28:03Speaker 2: when she goes through something, not to take it on
- 28:05Speaker 2: as my own, and not that I'm always there when
- 28:10Speaker 2: she needs me, but she could be going something through something.
- 28:14Speaker 2: I attached to it in my mind. I can't let
- 28:15Speaker 2: it go. It's on my mind all day. And then
- 28:17Speaker 2: she resolves whatever it is, and I'm you know, I
- 28:19Speaker 2: spend a whole day it's just a little dysfunctional. So
- 28:21Speaker 2: I feel like I've grown in that. In this particular instance,
- 28:24Speaker 2: I kind of separated. I said, she's twenty two, and
- 28:27Speaker 2: I trust that she could handle this, and I'm going
- 28:29Speaker 2: to give her the space to handle it, so that
- 28:31Speaker 2: that's I.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Hope one way. And my son who is in law school,
- 28:34Speaker 1: who is.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Not doesn't have time now to call mommy every day,
- 28:38Speaker 2: and you know, so to also take a step back
- 28:42Speaker 2: and know that he's doing his thing and not to
- 28:45Speaker 2: be overbearing, which I tend to be. So I feel
- 28:50Speaker 2: like I've grown in both of those days. Maybe also
- 28:53Speaker 2: I've gotten I've gotten more patient this year. I think
- 28:57Speaker 2: that show being on pause has been so strange for us,
- 29:02Speaker 2: and I have been doing it like you have, Jack. Obviously,
- 29:04Speaker 2: I've only been doing this for I did it for
- 29:05Speaker 2: two years and different yeas.
- 29:07Speaker 1: But you know what I say, I think that that
- 29:08Speaker 1: that that makes you want it more than me, Like
- 29:11Speaker 1: not that I don't want it, but like I've had
- 29:13Speaker 1: it for a long time, and I'm okay, if this
- 29:15Speaker 1: is the end of the road, I'm totally fine. It's
- 29:17Speaker 1: not about it just got started with the excitement. The
- 29:23Speaker 1: not knowing. Yeah, that bothers me. I'd like either to
- 29:26Speaker 1: know what my job's going to be or to have closure. Yeah,
- 29:30Speaker 1: I mean, that's that's what I mean.
- 29:31Speaker 2: My patience though it's like and everyone's always asking us,
- 29:33Speaker 2: right and we don't we have no idea and guessing
- 29:35Speaker 2: game and all of that.
- 29:36Speaker 1: So patients, Okay, what about you. I have grown emotionally.
- 29:42Speaker 1: I've had to well, you know, I'm still you know,
- 29:46Speaker 1: in recovery, and i still make like baby steps every day.
- 29:49Speaker 1: And it's not it's not super easy for me. It's
- 29:53Speaker 1: easier or harder. No, Well, the problem is that, like recovery,
- 29:59Speaker 1: getting rid of like the big stuff, like the not
- 30:01Speaker 1: eating getting rid of that was great. I was so
- 30:03Speaker 1: excited adding new foods to my diet. Great, so excited.
- 30:07Speaker 1: But it's like the little things, like the nitty gritty
- 30:10Speaker 1: like it's like the not being afraid of specific foods.
- 30:16Speaker 1: It's like the not feeling guilty after a meal. It's
- 30:19Speaker 1: like the not overthinking before a restaurant. Like the little
- 30:22Speaker 1: teeny tiny day to day things. Sometimes they are a
- 30:24Speaker 1: little bit hard for me. I've gained some weight over
- 30:28Speaker 1: the past few months, and that's been a little bit
- 30:30Speaker 1: hard for me. Not because I don't I mean, the
- 30:34Speaker 1: trade off is worth it. The trade off of having
- 30:38Speaker 1: that freedom is worth it. It's just it doesn't seem fair
- 30:42Speaker 1: to me because I'm not like going crazy, I'm not
- 30:47Speaker 1: eating everything that I love to eat. I still work
- 30:51Speaker 1: out daily and like to gain weight when you're not
- 30:55Speaker 1: doing anything that warrants gaining weight is hard, especially when
- 31:00Speaker 1: like so many people around me are slimming down, you know.
- 31:03Speaker 1: So that's been hard. But also I feel like I
- 31:07Speaker 1: feel very empowered that, like I'm in control and how
- 31:10Speaker 1: I feel about it, and so I'm proud. I choose
- 31:13Speaker 1: to be proud of it instead of being ashamed of
- 31:17Speaker 1: it because I'm still like, I'm still me. It doesn't matter,
- 31:20Speaker 1: you know, a few pounds up, a few pounds down.
- 31:22Speaker 1: I'm enjoying letting myself fluctuate because I've never had that before.
- 31:26Speaker 1: You know, for twenty years, I had to keep my
- 31:28Speaker 1: weight within a one pound range or else. It like
- 31:30Speaker 1: drove me crazy, and I don't weigh myself, but I
- 31:33Speaker 1: know I've gained weight. So just being okay with that,
- 31:37Speaker 1: I feel like, is something that I've never had before.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Even in my first like two years of recovery, the
- 31:42Speaker 1: weight was really uncomfortable for me. Like now it's it's
- 31:45Speaker 1: just part of me and like it is what it is, right,
- 31:49Speaker 1: So I feel like that's a big, big growth for me.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I've also calmed down down one thing I'm really proud
- 31:56Speaker 1: of this year. It's no surprise the show was not
- 32:01Speaker 1: great for me this year, right, And it's fine and
- 32:04Speaker 1: it's done, and like the hatred has stopped. But for
- 32:07Speaker 1: a month, for like a month, I got horrific social
- 32:12Speaker 1: media hates. And that's fine. But I'm really proud of
- 32:18Speaker 1: signing off of social media for a month. I went
- 32:21Speaker 1: off at the beginning of August and I didn't go
- 32:23Speaker 1: back until the beginning of September or the end of August.
- 32:27Speaker 1: And that was so great because all the shit really
- 32:30Speaker 1: just exists in your phone, right, Like, yeah, I really
- 32:34Speaker 1: hates you, Your friends don't really hate you. My friends
- 32:36Speaker 1: couldn't give a shit about it, right, Like your family
- 32:39Speaker 1: doesn't care. So it really just exists in your phone.
- 32:43Speaker 1: So I think that was one of the wisest things
- 32:46Speaker 1: that I've ever done, was just the leading it for
- 32:49Speaker 1: a month. And I think I would have caused myself
- 32:54Speaker 1: a lot of distress had I not. And it makes
- 32:56Speaker 1: me want to in the new year kind of change
- 33:00Speaker 1: my relationship with social media more. Yeah, I think it's
- 33:03Speaker 1: really no. I think that's a great goal. I think
- 33:05Speaker 1: for all of us. Did you hear the TikTok is
- 33:08Speaker 1: getting abolished in January. I didn't hear January. I thought
- 33:12Speaker 1: I'd have to go through your more legal processes.
- 33:14Speaker 2: But I could be wrong. I think I just heard
- 33:15Speaker 2: that like this morning. I probably heard it on Titch.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Just got on TikTok too. Guys follow me, and so
- 33:21Speaker 2: I took Jackie Goldschneider. I'm scared to look at it.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I haven't looked at it at what the page is,
- 33:25Speaker 1: but I have to have you come up for me.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Like usually if it was that like Jackie Gold one
- 33:29Speaker 1: hundred or something like that, I should check what my
- 33:31Speaker 1: name is. Because someone took Jackie Goldschneider. I'm fairly confident
- 33:36Speaker 1: there's not other Jackie gold Schnyders walking around. I'm at
- 33:39Speaker 1: Jackie Gold one hundred and I only share eating disorder content.
- 33:43Speaker 1: But I don't know what the other Jackie gold Schnyder.
- 33:47Speaker 2: According to what I saw on TikTok, It's not going
- 33:50Speaker 2: to matter much longer anyway, but I guess we'll see
- 33:52Speaker 2: you know when.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I gos ANITA Gala this year. I hosted the National
- 33:56Speaker 1: Eating Disorder Association Gala this year and so amazing one
- 33:59Speaker 1: of the most amazing highlights of my year, Like I
- 34:01Speaker 1: can't believe how I try. I want to say full circle,
- 34:06Speaker 1: but it's not full circle because I wasn't at that
- 34:08Speaker 1: point to begin with. But like half circle? How half
- 34:11Speaker 1: circle I've come? Yeah, I love it all right? Favorite
- 34:14Speaker 1: song this year? I mean, the thing is that, like
- 34:19Speaker 1: I'm always listening to old songs. I'm you know, I'm listening.
- 34:23Speaker 2: I put on It's totally embarrassing, but I'm like listening
- 34:26Speaker 2: to eighties music and seventies music and more than huge huge.
- 34:30Speaker 2: I don't listen to pop. I'm a huge all rock person.
- 34:34Speaker 2: I know that always freaks me out about you. Oh,
- 34:36Speaker 2: I love it weird much.
- 34:38Speaker 1: There there were a few songs that I loved this year,
- 34:43Speaker 1: but I have to say my favorite is there's a
- 34:47Speaker 1: band called Cage the Elephant. Do you listen to them?
- 34:50Speaker 1: So they put out a new album a song called
- 34:52Speaker 1: Neon Pill that just gets it. I just love it.
- 34:55Speaker 1: I love Hosier too. Oh he's so good.
- 34:58Speaker 2: I mean you're talking like we're going jingle ball in tomorrow. Actually, yeah,
- 35:03Speaker 2: it's gonna be so much fun. I'm so excited. But
- 35:05Speaker 2: if if truth be told, I don't I mean Katie Perry, right,
- 35:08Speaker 2: Sizza's Sabrina Shaboozy Shaboozy, I don't think so good, I
- 35:16Speaker 2: have to say in terms of pop Sabrina Carpenter song
- 35:19Speaker 2: taste is so I have a teenage daughter, and like,
- 35:22Speaker 2: so I feel like an idiot sometimes when I like,
- 35:26Speaker 2: I'm like running, you know, when I run, I put
- 35:29Speaker 2: on music, I like, I don't want to run to
- 35:31Speaker 2: the stuff that like she's listening to with her friends
- 35:33Speaker 2: and doing tiktoks too, you know, because then I feel like,
- 35:36Speaker 2: I don't know, I feel like I'm right, it's her style.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I know. No, I totally get that. I totally get
- 35:41Speaker 1: that funny, like it's so funny and this is off topic,
- 35:43Speaker 1: but like god, how did how did we get old
- 35:46Speaker 1: so fast?
- 35:47Speaker 2: I was just I mean, you're talking. I can't even
- 35:49Speaker 2: have that discussion with you. You're a baby.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I'm not a baby, Jet, you're a baby. Comparatively, I
- 35:55Speaker 1: mean six, you are, I'm year and a half. Okay,
- 36:01Speaker 1: you're forty eight. I don't know, Jackie. The difference is
- 36:06Speaker 1: it's huge.
- 36:07Speaker 2: I mean, fifty six and at forty eight, I don't
- 36:10Speaker 2: even think I was feeling my age like after fifty
- 36:15Speaker 2: my age No, I mean like, I don't think I
- 36:17Speaker 2: was even that qu like now fifty six. It's things
- 36:22Speaker 2: are different, Like my body feels different. Even sometimes when
- 36:27Speaker 2: I would watch myself on camera, the way that I
- 36:31Speaker 2: move felt I was watching myself. And of course we're
- 36:34Speaker 2: our own worst critics, but I felt like I was
- 36:36Speaker 2: moving like an old person, you know. And also that
- 36:38Speaker 2: probably is one of the reasons why I started exercising
- 36:41Speaker 2: again and lifting weights. But like I remember watching back
- 36:44Speaker 2: when Rachel Fuda had this had the pajama party.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Do you remember that?
- 36:49Speaker 2: Yeah, silly stuff, but watching myself walk from her boyer
- 36:54Speaker 2: into like where her bar area was or is, and
- 36:59Speaker 2: I remember, We're just seeing that back and thinking, you
- 37:02Speaker 2: you walk like an old person.
- 37:05Speaker 1: You know. It's like I never saw you walk like
- 37:06Speaker 1: an old well you would, I mean you probably wouldn't
- 37:08Speaker 1: because you're not looking for that. But it's weird. It's
- 37:11Speaker 1: like the aging thing is is, Yeah, maybe working out
- 37:14Speaker 1: we'll help with that. You find strength. Okay, So let's see.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Let's see what else. The best meal you had this
- 37:21Speaker 1: year was your best meal in Vietnam? Vietnam, Oh my god,
- 37:27Speaker 1: my best meal if anyone is visiting Rome, was in
- 37:31Speaker 1: like by far, hands down, no comparison. In a town
- 37:35Speaker 1: called Trustevere, there was a restaurant called Taverna Treloosa that
- 37:39Speaker 1: was I mean just Evan and I were just staring
- 37:43Speaker 1: at each other the whole meal, like, did you try this?
- 37:45Speaker 1: Did you try this? It was unbelievable that it was unbelievable. Yeah,
- 37:49Speaker 1: it was so good. Favorite trend, favorite trend? Gosh, what's yours?
- 37:56Speaker 1: I am so surprised to hear myself say that I
- 37:59Speaker 1: love the barrel jean, do you I that's so funny
- 38:05Speaker 1: that you say that. I think you have to.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Find the right one bow legged. So I didn't like
- 38:12Speaker 2: it either until I found the right one. I just
- 38:14Speaker 2: bought a pair of page and I love them really
- 38:18Speaker 2: and yes, yes, And I can't put on skinn jeans anymore.
- 38:22Speaker 1: No, I don't wear my skinny jeans. I'm wearing wide
- 38:24Speaker 1: leg right now. But I have not tried barrel jeans yet.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Maybe I will try them. I'm shocked that I love them,
- 38:30Speaker 1: but I love them all right. I love that. I
- 38:33Speaker 1: actually nice. This year, I've been wearing a lot of
- 38:36Speaker 1: those New Balance three twenty seven sneakers. Yeah. Oh, I've
- 38:40Speaker 1: sorted wearing a lot of sneakers. I like it, like
- 38:42Speaker 1: a chunky white sneaker. I've been like really into. So
- 38:46Speaker 1: all right, so let's let's get into our hopes for
- 38:49Speaker 1: the new year. Do you make resolutions? No?
- 38:55Speaker 2: No. When I was younger, it was always lose weight.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Right every year, it was the same thing, and up
- 39:00Speaker 2: until the New Year, I would bringe, like literally, I
- 39:02Speaker 2: would think it's coming, it's coming on New Year's Day,
- 39:05Speaker 2: and then on New Ye's Day, I would say, well,
- 39:06Speaker 2: it's New Year's Day. You have to eat and I'm not.
- 39:09Speaker 2: You know, we've talked about that that. I've also had
- 39:12Speaker 2: suffered with eating disorders at times in my life, but.
- 39:18Speaker 1: That was always the resolution.
- 39:19Speaker 2: It was always to lose weight, which I don't do anymore,
- 39:23Speaker 2: like at all, And I don't really do resolutions, but.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Do you know what, It's not that I do likes
- 39:30Speaker 1: like hardcore resolutions, but there are things that I'd like
- 39:34Speaker 1: to see happen. They're mostly like career goals because obviously
- 39:37Speaker 1: I can't resolve to have my children behave in certain ways.
- 39:41Speaker 1: You know, when they're good kids, I just want them
- 39:42Speaker 1: to be happy, So they're mostly like career goals. I
- 39:47Speaker 1: have a lot of career goals and a lot of ideas,
- 39:50Speaker 1: And every day I throw shit at the wall and
- 39:52Speaker 1: see what sticks, and ninety nine percent of it doesn't stick,
- 39:55Speaker 1: but that one percent that does is really exciting. So
- 39:59Speaker 1: I think I have like a whole bunch of things
- 40:01Speaker 1: that I have to consistently remind myself to stick with
- 40:05Speaker 1: because I love immedia gratification. But you know, this year
- 40:09Speaker 1: I read this book Atomic Habits. Do you read that?
- 40:12Speaker 1: And it was talking about God. They had the best
- 40:15Speaker 1: analogy and it was like, you know, you leave an
- 40:18Speaker 1: ice cube on a counter in a room, and if
- 40:23Speaker 1: you gradually heat the room up from like zero degrees
- 40:28Speaker 1: to thirty one degrees, nothing is going to happen to
- 40:31Speaker 1: that ice cube. But the minute it hits thirty two degrees,
- 40:34Speaker 1: that ice cube is going to start to melt. Right,
- 40:36Speaker 1: So it's everything you did up until that point that
- 40:40Speaker 1: prepare that ice cube to melt. It wasn't just that
- 40:43Speaker 1: one thing of hitting thirty two degrees that made it happen.
- 40:45Speaker 1: It was all the steps before that, Right, So I
- 40:47Speaker 1: have to consistently remind myself that planting the seeds and
- 40:50Speaker 1: the little things that don't actually make anything like go boom.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Are what leads up to that you know, gratifying moment
- 40:58Speaker 1: where something does happen for you, So planting a lot
- 41:01Speaker 1: of seeds, you know, and so I have to stick
- 41:04Speaker 1: with it. That's my resume definitely. That's actually something I
- 41:06Speaker 1: did learn.
- 41:06Speaker 2: I have to say this year, this past year, is that,
- 41:10Speaker 2: like I can, I hate the word manifest and let
- 41:14Speaker 2: me not use that word, but but I do have
- 41:16Speaker 2: an ability to think, wow, what about this and then
- 41:21Speaker 2: put it into play, which I think that I struggled
- 41:24Speaker 2: with for so long. I mean, I created a business
- 41:26Speaker 2: and I always say this is going back when I
- 41:28Speaker 2: was fifty. But the reason that I stuck with it
- 41:31Speaker 2: was because I brought people into it, and I people
- 41:34Speaker 2: invested emotionally in it and financially and so you know,
- 41:38Speaker 2: in f major and so there was no squirming out
- 41:41Speaker 2: of it, because MY tendency through the years has been
- 41:43Speaker 2: to have a big idea and then you know, squirm
- 41:46Speaker 2: and and sort of just like not really you know, dedicated, But.
- 41:50Speaker 1: You busted your ass with that. I remember the first
- 41:52Speaker 1: time I met you years ago.
- 41:57Speaker 2: No I know, but that was again, I mean, I
- 41:59Speaker 2: I had put myself into busines where I couldn't square
- 42:00Speaker 2: them out. So but but I have this past year,
- 42:04Speaker 2: I've had like what about this?
- 42:05Speaker 1: What about this?
- 42:06Speaker 2: And actually putting that into motion, you know, like the
- 42:10Speaker 2: Housewives thing. I got a call from a casting director
- 42:14Speaker 2: and then that I didn't have to do much except
- 42:17Speaker 2: to show up, you know what I mean, I didn't.
- 42:18Speaker 1: I wasn't creating a show or creating something for myself.
- 42:20Speaker 2: That was more like I got an opportunity and I
- 42:23Speaker 2: happily took it right, but actually coming up with stuff
- 42:27Speaker 2: now again, while we're we don't know what the future is,
- 42:31Speaker 2: you know, of the show, and I've been able to
- 42:33Speaker 2: do some things I don't know that I'm I'm pleased
- 42:36Speaker 2: that I've been able to put things in motion this year,
- 42:39Speaker 2: and I will I hope, I hope that I'll be
- 42:41Speaker 2: able to do that again.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's kind of exciting not knowing what will happen.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Like as long as my the people I love are healthy,
- 42:51Speaker 1: then I'm kind of like excited to see like what happens.
- 42:55Speaker 1: You know.
- 42:55Speaker 2: You know, I have a friend who is just had
- 42:59Speaker 2: some just found out that he's having some health issues,
- 43:02Speaker 2: some serious ones, and yeah, I mean it just changes.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Everything right in an instant, right, and I'm yeah, And.
- 43:10Speaker 2: I want to say when I think about the coming year,
- 43:12Speaker 2: my part of part of it. I'm not trying to
- 43:15Speaker 2: say this that I'm so altruistic, but like, I just
- 43:19Speaker 2: think about my dear friend and I want to be
- 43:21Speaker 2: able to be as strong for her and make this
- 43:26Speaker 2: if I can, in any way easier, and like it'll
- 43:31Speaker 2: be a good year if I can help. I mean,
- 43:33Speaker 2: I had another friend years back who was diagnosed with
- 43:37Speaker 2: ovarian cancer and for a few years she passed and
- 43:43Speaker 2: this friend won't but thank god. But anyway, the point
- 43:47Speaker 2: is that it was hard. It was really hard to
- 43:52Speaker 2: be a close friend of someone going through that way,
- 43:55Speaker 2: harder for her than it was for me. And as
- 44:01Speaker 2: I look when I look back at it, I think
- 44:02Speaker 2: I did everything that I could to make it easier
- 44:05Speaker 2: for her. You know, That's the only thing that was
- 44:08Speaker 2: gratifying in any way about it, is that I think
- 44:10Speaker 2: I helped make it.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you're a really good friend. I'm not trying to
- 44:14Speaker 1: be like I think the important thing that I want
- 44:16Speaker 1: to carry into the new year is that like there's
- 44:19Speaker 1: never there's never a year where everything is great. There's
- 44:22Speaker 1: never a year where everything's bad. There's never a time
- 44:25Speaker 1: in your life. You know. I used to wait a
- 44:27Speaker 1: lot and say I'll do this when things ease up,
- 44:31Speaker 1: and I'll do this when I'm not like said about something,
- 44:34Speaker 1: And there's never going to be that time. You just
- 44:37Speaker 1: got to like do what you do and let life
- 44:40Speaker 1: be life, you know.
- 44:41Speaker 2: And no one gets away Jack, That's what I tell
- 44:43Speaker 2: my kids. No one gets away, no matter what in
- 44:48Speaker 2: it might be a small thing that you think is
- 44:49Speaker 2: small or big or not.
- 44:50Speaker 1: But the struggles real period, full stop. That's I guess. Yeah.
- 44:54Speaker 1: And we got these drones flying over New Jersey and
- 44:56Speaker 1: who knows what the inside of them? Right, I don't
- 44:59Speaker 1: talk about those. That's freaks. How we actually make it
- 45:01Speaker 1: to the new year, give me God forbid? That is
- 45:04Speaker 1: it's in my chai. Wow. Yes, people intend if we
- 45:08Speaker 1: find we're taking.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Pictures of them, I don't get it, and no one
- 45:11Speaker 2: can figure it out, I know.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Yeah, let's hope you're still here on Earth without the
- 45:17Speaker 2: Martians twenty in them.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Okay, So message for listeners next year, God, I would say,
- 45:30Speaker 1: follow through on the things that you are dreaming about,
- 45:35Speaker 1: because it's really easy to let your dreams die in
- 45:38Speaker 1: your head because things take effort, you know, and be
- 45:41Speaker 1: okay with rejection. I'm saying that out loud for me
- 45:44Speaker 1: also because rejections are part of it and I hate rejection.
- 45:48Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, well.
- 45:51Speaker 2: I said, I don't really make don't really make resolutions,
- 45:56Speaker 2: but I would recommend therapy for anyone who's not in
- 46:00Speaker 2: his because I do feel like each year I I
- 46:04Speaker 2: do grow. I grow, like we talked about a little
- 46:06Speaker 2: bit emotion bestationally and.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Yeah, therapy is the greatest gift you can give yourself.
- 46:12Speaker 2: I would agree with that. I would agree with that. Okay, then,
- 46:17Speaker 2: well listen, and I also hope in twenty twenty five,
- 46:19Speaker 2: you guys keep listening to us, and I hope that
- 46:22Speaker 2: we are. I don't know if either we're amusing you,
- 46:26Speaker 2: or you can relate, or you don't feel and we
- 46:27Speaker 2: talk about certain things, maybe you don't feel so alone.
- 46:31Speaker 2: You know, we try. I think with Jersey Jays, we
- 46:34Speaker 2: both tried to be honest and open and because that's it, right,
- 46:38Speaker 2: It's all about connecting with people. So I hope we
- 46:41Speaker 2: get to continue that in twenty twenty five. Yeah, we've
- 46:43Speaker 2: had some fantastic guests.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Some we have here. It's your favorite. I just have
- 46:50Speaker 1: such a thing from my ambilliti.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Iknew you're going to say that. I knew you were
- 46:53Speaker 2: going to say that. I really do like I love her.
- 46:56Speaker 1: I love that she's an unabashed nerd. I love how
- 46:59Speaker 1: she stands by love fiction. She's such a talented actress,
- 47:02Speaker 1: like everything. I love everything about her. I know you do.
- 47:05Speaker 2: And I loved love her and loved that episode.
- 47:10Speaker 1: And I think one.
- 47:12Speaker 2: That really affected me was Maria Minunos, which we did
- 47:14Speaker 2: pretty recently, and I thought.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we called each other after that. We were
- 47:18Speaker 1: just like flabergasted. She is a force, she really is. Yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 1: So that was a good one, so good one. Some
- 47:24Speaker 1: great guests in twenty twenty five and some fun topics
- 47:28Speaker 1: and some some more success And I love you. I
- 47:35Speaker 1: wish all of you guys a happy new year and
- 47:37Speaker 1: we will be healthy. Bye.
