- 1:08Speaker 2: Big stories, a lot of injuries. Unfortunately, yeah, yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Dude, we lose the two of the game's best players
- 1:14Speaker 1: with Michael Parsons and Patrick Mahomes, which does suck. Like
- 1:18Speaker 1: who would have thought we'd be looking in a world
- 1:19Speaker 1: where we're looking at playoffs without Patrick Mahomes, a Green
- 1:23Speaker 1: Bay Packers team without Michael Parsons. George Yeah, no, George No,
- 1:28Speaker 1: Joe Burrow, yep, all these.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Guys possibly know. Lamar Jackson, I think I think the
- 1:33Speaker 2: Raymonds might make it. They're they're they're iffy, they're on
- 1:35Speaker 2: they're in the hunt, or they're back.
- 1:37Speaker 1: In the possibly Philip Rivers playing in the playoffs.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I don't think that's gonna happen. You never know, bro,
- 1:43Speaker 2: I don't think it's gonna happen. I love you know what,
- 1:46Speaker 2: Let's get our Let's get our our Monday bro, our
- 1:50Speaker 2: Monday interview on here, Greg, Greg, how do you feel
- 1:52Speaker 2: about Philip Rivers being forty four years old clearly has
- 1:56Speaker 2: a not only a dad bob, but a grandpa bod
- 1:59Speaker 2: going out there against one of the saltiest defenses and
- 2:02Speaker 2: winning that game for what three quarters? Yeah, three and
- 2:05Speaker 2: a half quarters before they kick a field goal at
- 2:07Speaker 2: the end of the game to win, Like, how incredible
- 2:09Speaker 2: is it for you? Just be like, Yo, look at
- 2:10Speaker 2: this man doing his thing who's older than all.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Yes, he won the game for fifty nine minutes in
- 2:16Speaker 3: thirty seconds, is right? I mean, you know, I can't
- 2:20Speaker 3: imagine what he feels like this morning. Yeah, he has
- 2:24Speaker 3: to feel just I can't even process how bad he
- 2:29Speaker 3: feels and sore. But I do think he wakes up
- 2:32Speaker 3: this morning, walks out to get the paper or whatever
- 2:35Speaker 3: the hell guys do, and he's like that was pretty
- 2:38Speaker 3: fucking awesome. Yeah, Like, I just came off the bench
- 2:43Speaker 3: cold coaching high school ball. Haven't trained. I mean, he's
- 2:47Speaker 3: worked out, but there's a difference between training and working out,
- 2:50Speaker 3: And I just went against arguably the best team in
- 2:52Speaker 3: the league, arguably the best defense in the league, in
- 2:54Speaker 3: one of the hardest places in football to play for
- 2:56Speaker 3: a decade, and took my team down on a game
- 3:01Speaker 3: winning game to take the lead in what could have
- 3:05Speaker 3: been a game winning field goal. Only that and then
- 3:08Speaker 3: obviously have your heart broken by giving up a game
- 3:10Speaker 3: winning field goal. So I actually think he wakes up
- 3:13Speaker 3: this morning physically sore and beat but I think mentally
- 3:18Speaker 3: he walks around his house with his twelve kids, and
- 3:21Speaker 3: he walks around that high school of those boys that
- 3:22Speaker 3: he coaches, and he's like, any more questions, who's the
- 3:25Speaker 3: baddest dude around because it's me bro questions.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just it's just nuts to see. And you're
- 3:33Speaker 2: watching the game and everyone tunes, and I love I
- 3:35Speaker 2: love that the Colts they understand like, hey, it's great season,
- 3:39Speaker 2: but we're obviously not in a position to go win
- 3:41Speaker 2: it all. We're not gonna be able to do that.
- 3:42Speaker 2: We also starting quarterback are guy we traded for. He's
- 3:45Speaker 2: been hurt, and they're like, hey, let's just let's make
- 3:48Speaker 2: something out of nothing here. Let's call this old guy
- 3:51Speaker 2: who are head coaches of this outstanding relationship with and
- 3:53Speaker 2: is hey, give us your best sixty minutes right now
- 3:56Speaker 2: for the next three four weeks and let's just enjoy it.
- 3:59Speaker 2: And a game that no one would have tuned into.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I'm sure the ratings were out of control about and
- 4:06Speaker 2: it's just amazing. Then watching Rivers like kind of go back.
- 4:09Speaker 2: He goes to like hitch step up in the pocket
- 4:11Speaker 2: and he like slips, realizes, oh shit, they're getting close.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It kind of like starts this like baby crawl thing
- 4:17Speaker 2: as they kind of just touched him, and he's like,
- 4:18Speaker 2: wooh fuck, that was a close one. Stagnanmit that was
- 4:21Speaker 2: a bit of a deal there, and he just dude,
- 4:23Speaker 2: he just does his thing. See some throws out to
- 4:26Speaker 2: the sideline that just kind of die off, and you're like,
- 4:29Speaker 2: that's what you're gonna get. That's what you're gonna get
- 4:31Speaker 2: with the boy quick decisions. It's awesome.
- 4:33Speaker 1: He's changing plays. Like I watched that game and I'm like,
- 4:39Speaker 1: Colts have a shot to get in the playoffs. I
- 4:41Speaker 1: was watch tuned into that game to just enjoy watching
- 4:44Speaker 1: Philip Rivers like come back like five years, Like, man,
- 4:46Speaker 1: is this forty four year old gonna be able to
- 4:48Speaker 1: do it? To Whard. Now I'm towards the end of
- 4:50Speaker 1: the game, I'm like, yo, I'm not counting the Colts
- 4:52Speaker 1: out yet to make the playoffs.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Have them next week. I'm so excited. So we have
- 4:56Speaker 3: their game against Jacksonville next week. I'm with you, Will,
- 5:00Speaker 3: I'm like genuinely excited to call his game. I hope
- 5:03Speaker 3: he makes it. Yeah, I hope they It's got to
- 5:05Speaker 3: stay alive for at least one more week because I'm
- 5:08Speaker 3: doing their game in Indye in two weeks when Jacksonville
- 5:12Speaker 3: comes in again. Two teams that are at least theoretically
- 5:15Speaker 3: in the playoff picture and in the hunt there in
- 5:17Speaker 3: the AFC, and it's a more interesting game, and I'm
- 5:20Speaker 3: more excited about the game with the potential of him
- 5:23Speaker 3: being the quarterback. For sure, he's.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Gonna make it through the forty nine ers. Yeah, forty
- 5:26Speaker 2: nine ers. They got Jaguars and they got the Texans.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Yeah he didn't. He didn't exactly come back for a
- 5:33Speaker 3: easy defensive stretch.
- 5:35Speaker 1: No doubt.
- 5:36Speaker 2: But if you're if you're like looking at that jan
- 5:38Speaker 2: fourth game or whatever the last game of the year
- 5:40Speaker 2: is for them, you've got to hope that either the
- 5:43Speaker 2: Texans have the South kind of wrapped up and they're
- 5:48Speaker 2: not really fighting for anything. And if they are, like
- 5:50Speaker 2: Will Anderson and Daniel Hunter, they are getting pulled to
- 5:52Speaker 2: the side for the game, like hey, yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Just lay him down, just don't kill the man.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Have you seen the bit of like Kevin Hart when
- 5:59Speaker 2: he was on and I don't know if it was
- 6:00Speaker 2: ESPN or foul or wherever he was at h and
- 6:02Speaker 2: he was talking about how you have to like put
- 6:04Speaker 2: the quarterback down now. Then they pick him up and
- 6:05Speaker 2: they lay him down, they get him a pillow, Like
- 6:07Speaker 2: that's what I need them to do with Philip Rivers, like,
- 6:09Speaker 2: we got to protect this man at all costs.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Texas are as a country, as a country, we need
- 6:14Speaker 3: to protect him.
- 6:17Speaker 1: The Texans that game, it's probably gonna be a winning
- 6:19Speaker 1: in game for the Texans. That sucks that, that's I'm
- 6:22Speaker 1: just because the Jaguars are playing good football. Bro. Yeah,
- 6:25Speaker 1: right now they're on top. Right now, they're on top.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Big game. They both this is uh, this is Texas
- 6:30Speaker 1: Jaguars this weekend.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe so. Yeah, this one's gonna be a decider, yea.
- 6:35Speaker 2: They both sitting run the same record right now. You
- 6:38Speaker 2: called the Eagles Raiders game just was that the worst
- 6:43Speaker 2: game of all time.
- 6:45Speaker 3: The Raiders are really bad. They're just and we and
- 6:50Speaker 3: we felt like we talked about it for three quarters
- 6:53Speaker 3: because the game was pretty much decided pretty quickly. Philly
- 6:58Speaker 3: played well. Philly did every thing they needed to coming in.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Jalen had some nice deep balls, they used him as
- 7:03Speaker 3: a design runner, had a couple scrambles. Saquan had a
- 7:07Speaker 3: really quiet first half. They got him going there in
- 7:09Speaker 3: the third quarter, and then they didn't really need him
- 7:11Speaker 3: in the fourth the game was over. Aj Brown had
- 7:14Speaker 3: a nice deep touchdown, so they checked. The defense is nasty. Obviously,
- 7:19Speaker 3: pitching a shutout in the NFL is not easy to do,
- 7:23Speaker 3: so I think from the Eagle standpoint, you check the box,
- 7:25Speaker 3: you move on. The Raiders they got they got a
- 7:29Speaker 3: lot of problems. They got a lot they got roster problems,
- 7:32Speaker 3: They've got decision problems. They got to figure out what
- 7:34Speaker 3: they're They've ready fired two of their three coordinators. They
- 7:37Speaker 3: didn't make it through their first season. You know who's
- 7:42Speaker 3: the quarterback of the future. They traded for Gina, who
- 7:44Speaker 3: I love as a guy. He was a teammate of
- 7:46Speaker 3: mine and a guy I just I love him. He's
- 7:48Speaker 3: everything you'd want in a teammate and a dude. They
- 7:52Speaker 3: trade for him, they give him seventy five million. I
- 7:55Speaker 3: think they completely misjudged how close that roster was to winning.
- 7:59Speaker 3: You know, you trade for Gino, you give up a
- 8:00Speaker 3: third round pick for him, you give him seventy five million.
- 8:03Speaker 3: I think it was like sixty something guaranteed that you
- 8:06Speaker 3: with the sixth overall pick, you take a running back,
- 8:08Speaker 3: You put them behind an offensive line that might be
- 8:12Speaker 3: the worst in the league. If not, they're in. They're
- 8:14Speaker 3: in the running. You don't even know gent D's on
- 8:16Speaker 3: the team. And I don't even mean that as an
- 8:17Speaker 3: indictment on him. I think he's a good young player.
- 8:19Speaker 3: It's just he's it's meaningless to have a running back
- 8:22Speaker 3: on a team that's never winning and can't block anybody,
- 8:25Speaker 3: so it's just not an impactful position. Brock Bauers is
- 8:28Speaker 3: a stud. They're two best players are brock Bauers and
- 8:31Speaker 3: Max Crosby, and the problem is neither one of them
- 8:33Speaker 3: can truly impact the game because of the chaos going
- 8:37Speaker 3: around them. So they're wasting two of the premier players
- 8:40Speaker 3: in the league respectively. Really have very little impact, and
- 8:44Speaker 3: that's a problem.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you do, Like, what do you do
- 8:49Speaker 1: in this situation where you invest and you think you're
- 8:52Speaker 1: you're closer than you really are and you have all
- 8:55Speaker 1: these problems roster wise, coaching staff wise, Like, what do
- 8:59Speaker 1: you do, Like, say, Pete Carroll's the guy next year,
- 9:03Speaker 1: what do you look at doing first? Is it again,
- 9:06Speaker 1: You're you're in a situation where you're always playing from behind.
- 9:08Speaker 1: So to your point, you're never really able to use
- 9:11Speaker 1: Max Crosby to the best of his ability. Do you
- 9:15Speaker 1: look at moving Max Crosby to get some draft equity
- 9:19Speaker 1: to just start looking to fill all of these holes
- 9:22Speaker 1: everywhere else?
- 9:24Speaker 3: Yeah? So I think it's a complicated. So if I
- 9:26Speaker 3: played like Magic GM for a day, ye, you know
- 9:28Speaker 3: what would be my first First off? You need to
- 9:31Speaker 3: sit down in a room with the powers to be
- 9:33Speaker 3: and you need to have a real honest assessment about
- 9:36Speaker 3: where are we and how close are we to our
- 9:38Speaker 3: competitive cycle? Right? And I think that was part of
- 9:41Speaker 3: the issue a year ago. You hire a guy like
- 9:44Speaker 3: Pete Carroll who's not used to losing, he has won
- 9:47Speaker 3: ten plus games, it feels like forever. Yeah, obviously from
- 9:51Speaker 3: college and then what he did in Seattle. You're hiring
- 9:54Speaker 3: a guy who is not a long term in three years,
- 9:57Speaker 3: we're going to be good. The expectation is we're going
- 9:59Speaker 3: to win now because I only know winning. I only
- 10:01Speaker 3: know ten plus wins. I only know playoff games. Like
- 10:04Speaker 3: that's all Pete understands. That's his power, that's his eternal
- 10:08Speaker 3: optimistic brain that has made him as good of a
- 10:11Speaker 3: coach as he's been. So I think there's a little
- 10:14Speaker 3: bit of a misalignment there. We're being honest. I think
- 10:17Speaker 3: they need to sit down and say, Okay, we need
- 10:20Speaker 3: to be good in two years, we need to be
- 10:22Speaker 3: good in three years whatever. That realistic approach and every
- 10:25Speaker 3: decision needs to be made through that lens. So can
- 10:28Speaker 3: you if they get the first or second overall pick
- 10:30Speaker 3: that that game against the Giants feels like it's going
- 10:33Speaker 3: to decide who you know, the loser actually wins because
- 10:36Speaker 3: you'll get the higher pick. Do you love any of
- 10:38Speaker 3: these quarterbacks? Right? You need a quarterback. You need to
- 10:40Speaker 3: get a young quarterback so you can build around them cheaply.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Do you love Fernando Mendoza? Do you love the kid
- 10:46Speaker 3: from or what is it Dante Kid from Oregon, Dante Moore?
- 10:53Speaker 3: You know, do you love them? That's a question. If
- 10:55Speaker 3: you don't, can you trade down? Right? Is one pick
- 10:59Speaker 3: gonna change your franchise?
- 11:00Speaker 4: No?
- 11:00Speaker 3: Can you trade down from one to middle of the pack,
- 11:03Speaker 3: get a bunch of picks and accumulate. You know, the
- 11:06Speaker 3: Max Crosby thing's real. We talked about it on the broadcast.
- 11:09Speaker 3: He's a premier player in the league regardless of position.
- 11:13Speaker 3: You have to ask yourself, no different than Miles Garrett.
- 11:16Speaker 3: As good as they are individually, our current roster makeup
- 11:20Speaker 3: and our current play style for as good as they are,
- 11:23Speaker 3: doesn't matter. And the answer is no, it clearly doesn't matter.
- 11:27Speaker 3: It clearly doesn't impact wins because what they do great,
- 11:31Speaker 3: You're not in position for that to actually have an
- 11:33Speaker 3: impact on the outcome of the game, which is essentially
- 11:35Speaker 3: that matters. So those are really hard decisions, Those are
- 11:38Speaker 3: really complex, long term thinking. But I think if they
- 11:43Speaker 3: continue to just patchwork it and just put vand aid
- 11:46Speaker 3: band aid, and there's not a real comprehensive plan to
- 11:49Speaker 3: say we are going to do all these difficult things
- 11:51Speaker 3: now in the moment so that we have the ability
- 11:54Speaker 3: to be good in two or three years. I think
- 11:57Speaker 3: they're a long way off.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with you too, Like I don't think
- 12:01Speaker 1: Max wants to leave. I don't think that fan base
- 12:03Speaker 1: wants them to leave. Like it's going to be a
- 12:05Speaker 1: tough breakup, but one that's like just feels like that's
- 12:07Speaker 1: why if you want to be a good organization or
- 12:09Speaker 1: a good football team in a couple of years or
- 12:11Speaker 1: a few years, like that is one of those tough
- 12:14Speaker 1: decisions that you would have to make.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Yeah, the biggest issue that you're dealing with is that
- 12:17Speaker 2: the owner is not known for having a lot of
- 12:19Speaker 2: patients behind his decision making when it comes to GM's
- 12:21Speaker 2: head coaches and.
- 12:22Speaker 1: That type of thing.
- 12:23Speaker 2: So we're talking about two three years from now being
- 12:25Speaker 2: successful when we know the league is one of the
- 12:27Speaker 2: more impatient organizations of all time, And so it's like,
- 12:31Speaker 2: is peak care there in two three years? Because foundationally,
- 12:34Speaker 2: you're right, like band aid, band aid, band aid, you
- 12:36Speaker 2: have to do a complete foundational overload of what's taking
- 12:39Speaker 2: place in Las Vegas.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Yeah, so think about it. They had the sixth overall pick,
- 12:44Speaker 3: between a third round pick, a fifth round pick, and
- 12:46Speaker 3: a sixth overall pick. They got Geno Kenny pick at
- 12:50Speaker 3: the backup quarterback and Ashton Genty a running back.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Tough.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Yeah, but now.
- 12:56Speaker 3: You go back and you say, Okay, you want to trade,
- 12:58Speaker 3: you want to accumulate picks, you want to play through
- 13:00Speaker 3: the draft. Now they do have a ton of cap
- 13:03Speaker 3: I want to stay off the top of my head,
- 13:04Speaker 3: it's like maybe the second most cap spending for next year,
- 13:08Speaker 3: or they're in the top like three. So there is
- 13:10Speaker 3: a lot of opportunity for them to add free agents
- 13:13Speaker 3: and to ad guys because they have a ton of money.
- 13:16Speaker 3: We saw the Patriots do it and surround a much
- 13:19Speaker 3: improved roster with Vrabel they spent the most in free agency,
- 13:22Speaker 3: and then obviously they've hit with Drake May. And that's
- 13:25Speaker 3: the perfect storm because you take advantage of your really good, young,
- 13:28Speaker 3: cheap quarterback. So the problem with doing that is you
- 13:32Speaker 3: got to make sure you have your young cheap quarterback right,
- 13:34Speaker 3: not only getting one, but is he the guy that
- 13:36Speaker 3: I can ride this five year window where I'm not
- 13:38Speaker 3: paying him top dollar, I can afford all these other
- 13:41Speaker 3: positions and we can ride that all out. What New
- 13:44Speaker 3: England's doing now and what you know, the Vikings, they
- 13:46Speaker 3: were the second highest spenders. But I say all of
- 13:48Speaker 3: that is you can accumulate as many draft picks as
- 13:50Speaker 3: you want. Think it wasn't too long ago that they
- 13:53Speaker 3: traded Khalil Mack in a blockbuster trade from the Raiders
- 13:57Speaker 3: to the Bears. And they accumulate all those first round picks,
- 14:00Speaker 3: and that's going to change their future. And I don't
- 14:03Speaker 3: I think like one of those first round picks. I
- 14:06Speaker 3: think like Colton Miller, who's on the ir the offensive tackle,
- 14:11Speaker 3: he might be the only first round pick left and
- 14:14Speaker 3: if there isn't nothing, they might have it. No, they
- 14:15Speaker 3: have a defensive lineman from like Texas A and M
- 14:18Speaker 3: that's a backup. But like they've had all these first
- 14:20Speaker 3: round picks and most of them are not even in
- 14:22Speaker 3: the league. So you accumulate all this draft capital, but
- 14:26Speaker 3: it's only as good as your ability to execute and
- 14:29Speaker 3: actually draft good players. That's why Philly's been so good.
- 14:33Speaker 3: All these guys that Phillies drafted, especially on defense, have
- 14:36Speaker 3: become really good players.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Right right. Staying in the AFC, last week, we're kind
- 14:40Speaker 1: of talking how wide open the AFC is. There's really
- 14:42Speaker 1: nobody that you go into the playoffs thinking like I
- 14:45Speaker 1: don't want to play against this team after yesterday. Are
- 14:48Speaker 1: there any team sticking out to you to where it's like, hey,
- 14:50Speaker 1: I don't want to have to face this football team.
- 14:52Speaker 3: I thought Denver had a really impressive win.
- 14:55Speaker 1: I agree.
- 14:56Speaker 3: I thought I thought that was really a really good win. Again,
- 14:58Speaker 3: I didn't catch all four quarters. I caught the most
- 15:02Speaker 3: of it traveling home. I thought that was really impressive.
- 15:05Speaker 3: I thought bo Nicks played as well as he has.
- 15:08Speaker 3: You know, they beat a good Packers team. I think
- 15:12Speaker 3: that comeback win for Josh Allen and the Bills. Again,
- 15:16Speaker 3: is it the roster? Is it the play style that
- 15:18Speaker 3: we're accustomed to. No, we We've talked about that throughout
- 15:21Speaker 3: the course of the year. It looks a little different.
- 15:23Speaker 3: It feels a little different. But I'll tell you what
- 15:25Speaker 3: these last two weeks, Josh Allen's been Josh Allen.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:29Speaker 3: And he did it in the snow at home against Burrow,
- 15:31Speaker 3: bringing them back and pretty much putting the game on
- 15:33Speaker 3: his back two weeks ago. And then he's down twenty
- 15:36Speaker 3: one to nothing on the road to at the time
- 15:38Speaker 3: the number one seed in the in the conference and
- 15:41Speaker 3: brings him back for a huge comfort behind wins so
- 15:44Speaker 3: you know, I still believe that that AFC is a
- 15:47Speaker 3: toss up. I believe I can make an argument that
- 15:50Speaker 3: five or six of those teams they go through Texans. Right, Like,
- 15:55Speaker 3: we've talked so much about the Texans defense, and it
- 16:00Speaker 3: feels like their offense is getting a little bit better.
- 16:01Speaker 3: They're a little better.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Yeah, they put they put a forty burger on the Cardinals,
- 16:07Speaker 2: and that's exciting because you want to you want them
- 16:09Speaker 2: to do the things they're supposed to do against inferior teams,
- 16:11Speaker 2: which they did. But I think I think just looking
- 16:14Speaker 2: the weekend, we're looking at yah.
- 16:17Speaker 1: First part of the year. If I'm being optimistic, I
- 16:20Speaker 1: guess for the Texans offense in the first half of
- 16:22Speaker 1: the year, I don't think that offense would have put
- 16:24Speaker 1: up forty on a team like the I agree, you
- 16:26Speaker 1: know what I mean to where it's like you're at
- 16:28Speaker 1: least like they were coming along a little bit. Forget
- 16:31Speaker 1: whoever the jersey on the other side is if it
- 16:33Speaker 1: was the Raiders, maybe we'd have kind of a different too.
- 16:35Speaker 1: But I just feel like them being able to put
- 16:37Speaker 1: up forty against the Cardinals to kind of at least
- 16:40Speaker 1: compare a little bit to that elite defense has got
- 16:43Speaker 1: to be if you're a Texas fan, you got to
- 16:44Speaker 1: be feeling great going into or being in December.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's definitely. I think when it comes to AFC,
- 16:49Speaker 2: they've been just sitting there in front of our faces
- 16:51Speaker 2: a whole year. But it's the Denver Broncos. Like they
- 16:53Speaker 2: have one of the best defenses in the entire league.
- 16:56Speaker 2: They have one of the best offense. I think their
- 16:58Speaker 2: offensive line has given up the least amount of sacks
- 17:01Speaker 2: out of any other offensive line in the entire NFL.
- 17:04Speaker 2: And the biggest question mark is is bow Nixy to
- 17:06Speaker 2: take that next step because they're putting a lot pressure
- 17:08Speaker 2: on this kid going into year two. He goes and
- 17:10Speaker 2: plays at home against a great Packers team and you know,
- 17:14Speaker 2: gets into a bit of a shootout for four tuddies,
- 17:17Speaker 2: and it's like, oh, okay, in my opinion right now
- 17:20Speaker 2: as it stands, and this is so weak to week
- 17:22Speaker 2: where we all kind of like have these grand gesture opinions,
- 17:24Speaker 2: but it's like, oh, it's clearly the Broncos right now.
- 17:27Speaker 2: The way the Patriots fell apart after being up twenty
- 17:30Speaker 2: one to zero against the Bills, the Houston Texans their
- 17:33Speaker 2: question marks on offense. Are they getting better? Are they not?
- 17:36Speaker 2: But it's like the NFC people have said for a
- 17:39Speaker 2: majority part of the year, like, hey, the Packers seem
- 17:41Speaker 2: like the most put together team, and they took that
- 17:43Speaker 2: team and plaid to play against their offense their strengths
- 17:47Speaker 2: and go and win that game the way they did.
- 17:48Speaker 2: It's like, Yo, it's the Broncos And if bo Nix
- 17:51Speaker 2: can continue to do what he does, he's got everything
- 17:53Speaker 2: around him to be successful. Now they sit in a
- 17:56Speaker 2: perfect position of they have all this talent around them
- 18:00Speaker 2: and a quarterback that's in his first contract where he's
- 18:02Speaker 2: not killing a bunch of cap for you guys. So
- 18:04Speaker 2: there is if you're a Broncos fan, buddy, this is
- 18:07Speaker 2: like we have to you have to get it now.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Now is when you take a hitage of all those things,
- 18:12Speaker 2: because in three years you're not gonna be able to
- 18:14Speaker 2: have Cooper Benito certain all these guys on your defense,
- 18:18Speaker 2: and able to have an on offensive line and you know,
- 18:21Speaker 2: wide receivers and running back. So I think right now
- 18:24Speaker 2: it is the Broncos, and I think that's probably who
- 18:29Speaker 2: looks like they're coming out of the playoffs then when
- 18:30Speaker 2: we get to the playoffs, we'll see how bo Nix
- 18:32Speaker 2: handles the weather. That we talked about run game defense,
- 18:35Speaker 2: it seems like they can they can handle that. Josh
- 18:37Speaker 2: Allen seems like he's gonna have the easiest path he's
- 18:39Speaker 2: ever had with Patrick Mahomes now being out Lamar Jackson.
- 18:42Speaker 2: He's on the fringe with the Ravens. It's going to
- 18:45Speaker 2: be very interesting to see what takes place in the AFC.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Yeah, because they could get that one seed and then
- 18:50Speaker 1: everybody's traveling to the altitude to Denver.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Right in that cold weather, all that stuff, and it's
- 18:56Speaker 2: Denver is an extremely hard place to play. Well, we
- 18:58Speaker 2: all are very aware of that. I want to I
- 19:02Speaker 2: want to talk about the Bengals with you for a
- 19:03Speaker 2: second because before this game where I think they got
- 19:07Speaker 2: shut out, correct it was twenty four to zero. Twenty
- 19:09Speaker 2: to zero, Yeah, they got shut out. Yeah, before this game.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Joe Burrow, he's in a press conference. He goes, I
- 19:14Speaker 2: want to play the game. That's fun for me. I'm not.
- 19:16Speaker 2: He basically alludes like I'm not having fun. He's having
- 19:19Speaker 2: a lot of comments that reflect us looking back on
- 19:22Speaker 2: Andrew Luck and being like yo, how are we going
- 19:25Speaker 2: to have a sim situation where this guy generational talent
- 19:27Speaker 2: which is thrown around all over the place, but truly,
- 19:30Speaker 2: Joe Burrow is a generational talent. Does he want to
- 19:31Speaker 2: trade his when he retire? What he want to do?
- 19:33Speaker 2: Goes into this game, gets goose ech those multiple interceptions,
- 19:37Speaker 2: and he got Jamar Chase in the postgame press conference
- 19:39Speaker 2: saying I've never had to uplift Joe Burrow in my life.
- 19:42Speaker 2: It seems like that's where I kind of have to go.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Now He's done that for me, so I need to
- 19:46Speaker 2: do that for him. Because Joe Burrow has this crazy
- 19:48Speaker 2: body language about him. This is more of an open discussion.
- 19:51Speaker 2: I want to put you just like, hey, Greg, what
- 19:52Speaker 2: would you do? But like, where do we feel like
- 19:54Speaker 2: Joe Burrow's at right now? As far as his career.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I don't think he wants to be done playing. There's
- 20:01Speaker 1: got to be something going on off the field in
- 20:04Speaker 1: my opinion, based on just a little clues or nuggets
- 20:08Speaker 1: because he alluded to I want to say. A reporter
- 20:10Speaker 1: asked him when he said he wasn't having fun and
- 20:13Speaker 1: whatever else, and the guy in the audience was like,
- 20:15Speaker 1: is there it football stuff. Is it personal stuff? He's like,
- 20:18Speaker 1: you know, a little bit of everything. And then for
- 20:20Speaker 1: Jamar Chase to he also said a personal I'm not
- 20:24Speaker 1: going to say eluded, but he brought up the word personal,
- 20:27Speaker 1: like when he said, I've never been in the spots
- 20:28Speaker 1: where I've had to uplift Joe Burrow. I don't know
- 20:30Speaker 1: what's going on personally, blah blah blah, but I feel
- 20:32Speaker 1: like I'm gonna be there for him the same way
- 20:33Speaker 1: He's been there for me. There could be something going
- 20:35Speaker 1: on and nobody knows about. Yeah, I don't think he
- 20:37Speaker 1: wants to be done playing football. I think he just
- 20:39Speaker 1: wants to be on a winning football team, you know
- 20:41Speaker 1: what I mean?
- 20:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I think it's a lot of that.
- 20:44Speaker 3: And again, we never know. It's it's so easy to
- 20:46Speaker 3: judge these guys and say, oh man, how good do
- 20:48Speaker 3: they have it? You don't know what's going on behind
- 20:50Speaker 3: the scenes. I think that's all real guys are still
- 20:52Speaker 3: living lives outside of the world of professional football, and
- 20:57Speaker 3: it certainly takes a toll. But my I guess without
- 21:00Speaker 3: having any real intimate knowledge into the situation, my experience
- 21:05Speaker 3: of just being around guys and hearing the way they
- 21:07Speaker 3: talk and whatnot. This feels to me like a guy
- 21:09Speaker 3: who's saying, I know I'm really good. I didn't play
- 21:12Speaker 3: good yesterday. I think he was very honest about his
- 21:15Speaker 3: assessment yesterday, and that's okay. It felt like an outlier,
- 21:18Speaker 3: felt like kind of a one off game. But I
- 21:21Speaker 3: sense a guy that is tired of losing, right, I'm
- 21:24Speaker 3: tired of scoring thirty plus points and losing. Everybody else
- 21:27Speaker 3: around the league scores twenty and they win twenty five,
- 21:30Speaker 3: they win thirty, and it's a foregone conclusion. You win.
- 21:33Speaker 3: How Come I'm on this team that over the last
- 21:35Speaker 3: two years, I've scored thirty four points six times in
- 21:38Speaker 3: a loss. That's not fun. It does people like, oh,
- 21:42Speaker 3: but you're making so much money. You're making this we
- 21:44Speaker 3: all know, like the money and all that after you
- 21:47Speaker 3: signed that contract and that rush is gone. The football
- 21:51Speaker 3: is still what matters. Coming into a locker room of
- 21:54Speaker 3: a winner is very different coming into the locker room
- 21:57Speaker 3: of a winner of a loser, regardless of how much
- 22:00Speaker 3: money you make. And I think these last couple of years, really,
- 22:03Speaker 3: since the Super Bowl, it's been a steady decrease, especially
- 22:06Speaker 3: on the defensive side of the ball. They can't get
- 22:08Speaker 3: that right. They're firing coaches. Hendrickson's not playing. He's their
- 22:11Speaker 3: best player, Like they're not good on defense. He feels
- 22:15Speaker 3: like he carries the entire weight of the organization, which
- 22:17Speaker 3: he does on his back offensively and quarterback. And obviously
- 22:21Speaker 3: he's been through some injuries and he's battling and he's rehabbing,
- 22:24Speaker 3: and he's rushing back to a four and eight team,
- 22:26Speaker 3: trying to claw his way back into the playoffs. Every
- 22:29Speaker 3: single season they're in the same boat. They're four and eight,
- 22:32Speaker 3: they're three and seven, and it's like, hey, win every game.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Well he did it last year. They won every game
- 22:37Speaker 3: down the stretch. They don't make the playoffs. He comes back,
- 22:41Speaker 3: he gets him to four and eight. It's got to
- 22:43Speaker 3: win every game. He loses a heartbreaker to Josh Allen
- 22:46Speaker 3: to get shut out, and now the season's over. I
- 22:48Speaker 3: think he's mentally worn out. I feel like he's a
- 22:50Speaker 3: guy that's saying, I'm in the prime of my career
- 22:53Speaker 3: when I'm healthy, I'm arguably the best quarterback in the league,
- 22:57Speaker 3: and I'm tired of losing. And I don't blame him.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's it's like too being a part of
- 23:03Speaker 1: a tough organization or a bad culture, like going into work,
- 23:07Speaker 1: Like anybody who goes into work and like, let's say
- 23:09Speaker 1: you have a bad day or you have a bad week, right,
- 23:11Speaker 1: you have a bad moment. If you've got a lot
- 23:12Speaker 1: of good people around you and you're around a good
- 23:14Speaker 1: organization with a good culture, you'll get out of that
- 23:17Speaker 1: pretty quick. Like we've been in locker rooms to where
- 23:19Speaker 1: you're winning football team, you have a bad day or
- 23:21Speaker 1: you have a bad game, and just to feel when
- 23:23Speaker 1: you go in the locker room or going to the
- 23:24Speaker 1: building the next day, it's it's completely different than when
- 23:27Speaker 1: you have a bad day or have a bad game
- 23:29Speaker 1: and you lose and you go into a locker room
- 23:31Speaker 1: where it's just it's quiet, like everybody knows there's stuff
- 23:34Speaker 1: going on, even the culture. When you go into the
- 23:36Speaker 1: facility of the next day, whether organizationally from the top down,
- 23:39Speaker 1: you just feel like you're in a bad situation. Having
- 23:41Speaker 1: to do that day in and day out. It absolutely
- 23:43Speaker 1: wears on you to the point where it's like, yeah,
- 23:45Speaker 1: the dude's just beat down, he's tired of being he
- 23:48Speaker 1: does know, Like this is one of the best players
- 23:50Speaker 1: in the NFL, and he's just been on this he's
- 23:53Speaker 1: just been on this shit team for the last year.
- 23:54Speaker 2: It's not even day in and day out, month and
- 23:56Speaker 2: a month out. This has been a year in and
- 23:57Speaker 2: year round job for Joe Burrow.
- 23:59Speaker 1: And it's like if you.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Go into multiple off seasons and the issues that you've
- 24:03Speaker 2: had have not been addressed. And I know I know
- 24:06Speaker 2: the issues that they have. We've all talked about. We
- 24:07Speaker 2: talked about it earlier with the Broncos, Like Broncos are
- 24:10Speaker 2: in a great spot because they have all the pieces
- 24:12Speaker 2: and a quarterback in the first in his first contract.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Now you have Joe burwho's making half a billion dollars
- 24:17Speaker 2: or whatever his contract is, and it's like every year
- 24:21Speaker 2: it's like, Okay, their defense sucks and their offensive line
- 24:23Speaker 2: gives up sex and every year we're having the same conversation.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Now we're here three years later saying twenty twenty five,
- 24:28Speaker 2: it's December, the defense sucks and the offensive line gives
- 24:31Speaker 2: up sacks. So if I'm Joe Burrow, yeah, I'm pretty
- 24:36Speaker 2: fed up with the situation and just wondering, like, like,
- 24:38Speaker 2: if it's not gonna get fixed in three years, maybe
- 24:41Speaker 2: I need to go somewhere else where it is fixed.
- 24:42Speaker 2: But the argument can also be made is it's not
- 24:45Speaker 2: I was good. On the other side, no other team
- 24:47Speaker 2: has t Higgins and Jamar Chase and that Tindan was
- 24:50Speaker 2: it giseki is how you say it? Like those type
- 24:54Speaker 2: of weapons, they're just they grow on trees, like maybe
- 24:56Speaker 2: the Vikings. You can find yourself in that Si Stafford's Stafford,
- 25:00Speaker 2: those rams, Like those pastures are greener, those pastors are
- 25:03Speaker 2: pretty damn green those But it's like that has to
- 25:05Speaker 2: be the fit. Like if it's like Doe Burrow's going
- 25:07Speaker 2: to go to the Raiders or he's going to go
- 25:09Speaker 2: to the Jets, or he's going a Steelers, He's like, no, bro,
- 25:11Speaker 2: Like you're not going to be happier there because you're
- 25:13Speaker 2: not going to have the weapons that you have that
- 25:15Speaker 2: are even comparable anywhere else other than probably two teams.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Joe smart enough, he would know he's end up with
- 25:21Speaker 1: the Raiders or the Jets.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Well, you know, brings up the question everybody always asks,
- 25:25Speaker 3: and I'm not sure there's a clear cut answer. You know,
- 25:28Speaker 3: they're paying fifty plus million, it might maybe more than that.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Off the top of my head how much they're paying
- 25:33Speaker 3: to t Higgins and Jamar Chase. Right, So you're paying
- 25:36Speaker 3: all that money there, would you rather have a fifty
- 25:38Speaker 3: million dollar offensive line or fifty million dollar wide receivers?
- 25:43Speaker 3: It's a tough I can make an argument each way, Right,
- 25:46Speaker 3: what kind of system am I running? What's the you know,
- 25:48Speaker 3: where's the load? Where's the stress? So I think there's
- 25:51Speaker 3: a lot of nuance to it, but I think it's
- 25:53Speaker 3: a fair question. And you look at what they're doing
- 25:55Speaker 3: with the Rams. Yeah, oh Pooking Akua, the pat Pooking
- 25:58Speaker 3: a coup is a fifth round pick making no money.
- 26:00Speaker 3: DeVante Adams is on is a veteran who last year
- 26:03Speaker 3: couldn't do a thing in Jets. Not because he's not amazing.
- 26:06Speaker 3: He's incredible. It's a better fit, but he's not making
- 26:09Speaker 3: thirty five million dollars. He's not making tough to your
- 26:11Speaker 3: wide receiver money. So you can't pay everyone, right, and
- 26:16Speaker 3: the second you start paying a quarterback sixty and a
- 26:19Speaker 3: wide receiver thirty and better draft incredible it's and we
- 26:27Speaker 3: see it time and time again. There's great rosters with
- 26:31Speaker 3: good young quarterbacks making no money. They're highly competitive and
- 26:34Speaker 3: then there's the couple quarterbacks that can mask the problems
- 26:38Speaker 3: of a bad roster. But even they can't do it anymore,
- 26:41Speaker 3: even Mahomes and Josh Allen and Burrow. I mean, these
- 26:44Speaker 3: guys are as good as it gets, and the roster
- 26:47Speaker 3: holes right now. Of the group, the only one that's
- 26:50Speaker 3: still holding on is Josh Allen. Yeah, and he's doing
- 26:54Speaker 3: it without literally without a receiver. Right. It's a great
- 27:00Speaker 3: after catch and right. Yeah, but I'm talking about traditional
- 27:04Speaker 3: compared to Justin Jefferson, who can I'm talking like a
- 27:07Speaker 3: traditional x Z receiver. It's this, it's a really hard
- 27:13Speaker 3: balance with how much money certain guys take and if
- 27:17Speaker 3: you're gonna allocate a certain amount of percentage, such a
- 27:20Speaker 3: high percentage of your cap to certain players, which of
- 27:23Speaker 3: course you have to, they have to be able to hold.
- 27:27Speaker 3: They better be able to fill the holes that are
- 27:29Speaker 3: inevitably gonna come, and you better draft incredibly well around them.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, now, playing now that we have more information, playing hindsight,
- 27:39Speaker 1: armchair quarterback, it's one thousand percent. You want a fifty
- 27:41Speaker 1: million dollars line when you got a quarterback like Joe Burrow.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Yeah, but if you have a fifty million dollar O line.
- 27:47Speaker 3: He's not throwing at Jamar Chasen t exactly.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm thinking Joe Burrow is so good. Like, yeah,
- 27:51Speaker 1: Jamar Chase and T Higgins they're they're animals. But I'm
- 27:54Speaker 1: thinking you got to you gotta keep be like Joey
- 27:56Speaker 1: b Like again, you see it with Josh Allen. He
- 27:59Speaker 1: doesn't have a whole lot of wide receivers to work with,
- 28:02Speaker 1: and he, you know, he's out there making it happen.
- 28:04Speaker 1: You can make a you know, an average wide receiver
- 28:06Speaker 1: look good. You can make a good wide receiver look great.
- 28:08Speaker 1: You can go out there and grab you know, if
- 28:10Speaker 1: you fortunately could draft like a Pooka Nakou in the
- 28:12Speaker 1: fifth round. Obviously I'm talking on my ass saying that.
- 28:15Speaker 1: But if you do draft well and then you go
- 28:16Speaker 1: out and have find somebody a receiver that's got a
- 28:19Speaker 1: higher ceiling than what he showed the previous year with
- 28:22Speaker 1: Devonte Adams when he was with the Jets, you'd be
- 28:24Speaker 1: able to. You'd be able to, you'd be able to
- 28:26Speaker 1: figure it out. I believe in free agency, if you
- 28:29Speaker 1: had a foundational piece of the offensive line protecting your
- 28:31Speaker 1: best asset on the team, the.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Thing that I'm thinking of right now is the viewer
- 28:36Speaker 2: watching the show who is working their ass off, working
- 28:39Speaker 2: paycheck to paycheck, and not just saying to us three
- 28:42Speaker 2: guys who play in the NFL, Well, if Joe Burrow
- 28:44Speaker 2: wants this so bad, why wouldn't he take less money?
- 28:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that's.
- 28:52Speaker 2: What you got sixty?
- 28:55Speaker 1: Hey, I thought you follow follow up.
- 28:57Speaker 2: That's what I'm like. People who don't play in the NFL.
- 28:59Speaker 2: People who don't like understand like, hey, it's not for long,
- 29:02Speaker 2: this doesn't last forever. You want to accumulate as much
- 29:04Speaker 2: wealth as you possibly can for generational stuff. They're sitting
- 29:06Speaker 2: there and theyre saying, well, the answer seems like it's
- 29:08Speaker 2: pretty simple to me. Take less money so you can
- 29:10Speaker 2: get a better offensive line and a defense.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Fair.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Well, So there's two there's two arguments, one on each side,
- 29:17Speaker 3: like normal, Right, you make the one argument that, yeah,
- 29:20Speaker 3: instead of making sixty, can you make fifty? Is your
- 29:23Speaker 3: life really going to be different?
- 29:24Speaker 1: Right?
- 29:24Speaker 3: That's a valid argument. You can spread that ten million
- 29:27Speaker 3: around your roster, and you do that over multiple years,
- 29:29Speaker 3: and all of a sudden you have a better team.
- 29:32Speaker 3: That's fair. Right. Brady did that a lot and been
- 29:36Speaker 3: heavily talked about. There's also the side that those top
- 29:38Speaker 3: tier guys, there is an obligation that it's your job
- 29:42Speaker 3: to raise the ceiling. Right, it's your job because once
- 29:46Speaker 3: Joe Burrow, I'm just gonna make up that he's you know,
- 29:49Speaker 3: let's say he's the highest paid quarterback. Well, when it's
- 29:51Speaker 3: Jordan loves turn, or it's Drake May's turn, right, these
- 29:55Speaker 3: next young guys, when it's Drake May's turn, If Drake
- 29:58Speaker 3: May doesn't jump, whoever the highest paid guy now is.
- 30:02Speaker 3: You never reset the market. And you're not only resetting
- 30:05Speaker 3: the market for the top guy. As the top quarterback
- 30:09Speaker 3: makes sixty, the second tier now makes thirty five. If
- 30:12Speaker 3: the top quarterback's only making fifty, the middle tier is
- 30:15Speaker 3: only making twenty five. So you're bringing everybody up with
- 30:19Speaker 3: you when you continually reset the market. So the other
- 30:22Speaker 3: to the counter, and this is what every agent in
- 30:25Speaker 3: the world of course is selling his client. You owe
- 30:28Speaker 3: it to the league, You owe it to the other
- 30:31Speaker 3: quarterbacks to elevate the market and to reset it if
- 30:36Speaker 3: you have the ability to reset it. So there's a
- 30:39Speaker 3: very double edged sword there, right, like, do you owe
- 30:43Speaker 3: it to the league, do you owe it to the
- 30:44Speaker 3: market and of course yourself or is your obligation to
- 30:49Speaker 3: balancing the books on behalf of your front office and
- 30:51Speaker 3: doing their job for them, right, because the Eagles certainly
- 30:55Speaker 3: don't have a talent problem, right. And the Eagles are
- 30:58Speaker 3: paying aj Brown and they're Lane Johnson, and they're paying
- 31:01Speaker 3: my Alotta, and they're paying Jalen Hurts and they're paying
- 31:03Speaker 3: Saquon Barkley. And I mean, but why can't you pay
- 31:09Speaker 3: all them because you drafted Jalen Carter, and you drafted
- 31:12Speaker 3: Jordan Davis, and you signed Zach Bond. I know they've
- 31:15Speaker 3: given him an extension since, but he's not a top
- 31:17Speaker 3: tier they sign him in a one year veteran deal
- 31:20Speaker 3: two years ago, or last year, you draft Cooper Dejen
- 31:23Speaker 3: you got, you draft Quinon Mitchell.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Like yeah, Nikobe Dean, Yeah yeah.
- 31:29Speaker 3: N Kobe Dean. And we can go on and on
- 31:31Speaker 3: and on about the guys that they've drafted who make
- 31:33Speaker 3: no relatively, they don't make big money in the scope
- 31:37Speaker 3: scope of the NFL. That's how you keep that roster
- 31:41Speaker 3: looking the way it does. If they miss on all
- 31:43Speaker 3: those picks, and those guys stink and they now need
- 31:46Speaker 3: to go out and free agency and fill those gaps.
- 31:50Speaker 3: You only get a j Brown or DeVante Smith. You
- 31:52Speaker 3: either get Lane Johnson or Jordan Mylotta. You don't get
- 31:56Speaker 3: Saquon And it has a Yeah, it's just the nature
- 32:00Speaker 3: the game. So like the argument the quarterback would be
- 32:03Speaker 3: draft better.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, because the meat you do, you know, balance
- 32:07Speaker 1: the books of the organization. You now give power to
- 32:12Speaker 1: the owners. Like when you're in this battle of player
- 32:14Speaker 1: versus ownership and getting paid what the market says, you
- 32:16Speaker 1: now give owners leverage too. Now they're they're saying that
- 32:19Speaker 1: with all the other deals they're trying to sign with
- 32:21Speaker 1: their quarterbacks that they're trying to keep, it's like, well,
- 32:22Speaker 1: the Bengals over here, Joe Burrow did this, like we
- 32:25Speaker 1: need you to kind of be a selfless person here, right,
- 32:27Speaker 1: take less money so that way we can make a
- 32:28Speaker 1: better roster.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Yep, yep.
- 32:30Speaker 3: And then the left tackle wants to negotiate a new deal,
- 32:32Speaker 3: and they go, well, Joe Burrow just took a hometown discount,
- 32:34Speaker 3: so if he can do it, why don't you.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Right now the negotiating, the leverage goes towards the team, right.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Yeah, there's just so many there's just so many layers
- 32:43Speaker 3: to it. It sounds so easy, you know, and I
- 32:46Speaker 3: save you ten million a year. Is there a guarantee
- 32:49Speaker 3: that you're not going to blow that? Yeah, you give
- 32:52Speaker 3: it to some guy who stinks you're better off giving
- 32:54Speaker 3: it to me.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Right right, I'm approving.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Yeah, So there's a lot of there's a lot of
- 32:59Speaker 3: nuance to a lot of those things. But yeah, i'm
- 33:01Speaker 3: the surface. Not being the highest paid player certainly helps
- 33:08Speaker 3: keep your team better in theory, but now there's an
- 33:10Speaker 3: execution component.
- 33:11Speaker 2: It makes me think about Kirk Cousins and what he
- 33:14Speaker 2: was trying to start when he left Washington, which is
- 33:16Speaker 2: do you take less money but it's all fully guaranteed.
- 33:20Speaker 2: And now you're starting to work through the process again
- 33:22Speaker 2: of hey, you know when you sign these ninety million
- 33:25Speaker 2: dollar deals in sixty if it's guaranteed, well, willia's just
- 33:27Speaker 2: a sixty million dollar deal and you're hoping to get
- 33:29Speaker 2: the other thirty Like why not? Like maybe that's the
- 33:32Speaker 2: process now where these top tier quarterbacks you're taking five,
- 33:35Speaker 2: ten million less dollars, but thirty more is guaranteed on
- 33:38Speaker 2: the back end, Like that's a win. Yeah, possibly for
- 33:41Speaker 2: everybody there now there's a new fight taking place where
- 33:44Speaker 2: these fully guaranteed contracts are happening, which you know depends
- 33:47Speaker 2: on what side of the fence you sit on when
- 33:48Speaker 2: it comes to that stuff.
- 33:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that was always the approach that I took. Right Like, again,
- 33:53Speaker 3: this is a fun kind of higher level like approach
- 33:55Speaker 3: standpoint that I think is interesting to dive into. But
- 33:58Speaker 3: like me personally, my approach was always it didn't matter
- 34:01Speaker 3: to me that I was ever the highest paid, the
- 34:03Speaker 3: third highest paid, the fifth highest paid, the tent that
- 34:07Speaker 3: never really mattered to me, right Like, I always took
- 34:09Speaker 3: extensions in advance just because I knew I played a
- 34:12Speaker 3: position where at any moment it could be done. Yeah,
- 34:15Speaker 3: but then I also always bet on myself and saying
- 34:19Speaker 3: I might sign on an annual basis a less contract
- 34:22Speaker 3: than a guy that I might feel like I'm better then,
- 34:24Speaker 3: But because I took an extension, I didn't make free agency.
- 34:27Speaker 3: He's going to make more on an annualized basis. But
- 34:30Speaker 3: I'm gonna make the entire contract, right like I'm gonna
- 34:34Speaker 3: play the entire I'm gonna get the max value of
- 34:36Speaker 3: that contract, which might be a little bit less over
- 34:39Speaker 3: fixed number of years. I'm gonna make it all you.
- 34:41Speaker 3: I make five million and you make seven. But you
- 34:45Speaker 3: only made two years of it, and then you got hurt,
- 34:47Speaker 3: you stopped training, you got cut. You weren't as good
- 34:49Speaker 3: as me. But I made it for five years. Who
- 34:51Speaker 3: signed the better contract?
- 34:52Speaker 1: You did?
- 34:54Speaker 3: I signed the better contract because you got two of
- 34:56Speaker 3: the five years at seven, so you made fourteen. I
- 34:59Speaker 3: got five of the for twenty five. I did better
- 35:01Speaker 3: than you. That was always personally my approach, where I
- 35:06Speaker 3: didn't need to make the most per year. I was
- 35:09Speaker 3: gonna make every single year of it for fourteen years
- 35:12Speaker 3: and just play the long game. That was always my approach.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Yeah, when I was sitting in the position to have
- 35:18Speaker 2: make get a second contract, I was sat down by
- 35:20Speaker 2: Tom Condon and Pat Collins at CAA and they're like, hey,
- 35:24Speaker 2: everyone's looking at Apy like everyone wants to know your
- 35:26Speaker 2: average pay per year. Really the move is we're trying
- 35:30Speaker 2: to set the record for the guarantee. That's what we
- 35:33Speaker 2: want to get for you. And it's when they were
- 35:35Speaker 2: able to break that down for me because I was
- 35:36Speaker 2: a little more great. I'm like, well, this guy's making
- 35:38Speaker 2: this much per year. I want to make X y
- 35:42Speaker 2: and z more per year. And then really when they
- 35:44Speaker 2: turned my focus to, hey, what you're really focused on
- 35:46Speaker 2: over here is the guarantee, that's when it's like, oh shit,
- 35:48Speaker 2: you're right, because then things go to hell like it
- 35:51Speaker 2: kind of did towards the end of my career where
- 35:53Speaker 2: it was like shit's just falling apart and left and right.
- 35:55Speaker 2: It's like, oh, I get to lean on this guarantee
- 35:57Speaker 2: that I have to be a little more safe.
- 35:59Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm just wonder if i'd get a signing bonus.
- 36:02Speaker 2: No doubt, you know what I mean, that signed yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 2: and it's it's yeah.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I get I can get one hundred and twenty and
- 36:07Speaker 1: that in that signing bonus with this contract.
- 36:09Speaker 2: It's so interesting.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Don't get that.
- 36:10Speaker 2: It's so interesting with the money thing because when you
- 36:13Speaker 2: get into the league and you're drafted, even being drafted
- 36:15Speaker 2: in the first round, and everything's like it was the
- 36:17Speaker 2: new CPA, so like everyone's kind of slotted. You get drafted,
- 36:21Speaker 2: you get your signing bonus, but then you're working through
- 36:23Speaker 2: your rookie car like minimums every single year because there's
- 36:26Speaker 2: all frontloaded that signing bonus, which is great, forty eight hours.
- 36:29Speaker 2: It's like Okay, that was awesome. Bank account looks great.
- 36:32Speaker 2: But now I gotta worry about actually putting a product
- 36:34Speaker 2: in the field that's not disgusting and people hate me for.
- 36:36Speaker 2: And you're looking at these eight, nine, ten year vets
- 36:39Speaker 2: that are making ten, eleven, twelve per year and you're like, bro,
- 36:43Speaker 2: what are they bitching about when they're making that much money?
- 36:46Speaker 2: And then you become the guy that's making that and
- 36:48Speaker 2: you realize quickly like, yeah, that goes away, and it's
- 36:51Speaker 2: you know, it's it might sound selfish to the casual person,
- 36:54Speaker 2: but like once the money is the contract sign, it's
- 36:57Speaker 2: like you're only thinking about football from then on. If
- 37:00Speaker 2: you truly care about the game.
- 37:02Speaker 3: It's psychousing, stinks, dropping the game winning pass, giving up
- 37:06Speaker 3: three sacks in a game you don't wake up Monday ago. Well,
- 37:09Speaker 3: it's not that bad because they make a lot of money.
- 37:12Speaker 3: It's probably worse.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Yeah, you're absolutely, it's probably worse.
- 37:17Speaker 3: You feel shittier, right.
- 37:19Speaker 2: If if you're a guy that loves the team and
- 37:21Speaker 2: use ball like chandles.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Are, if you don't give a shit, you're probably not
- 37:25Speaker 3: that like it typically is all hand in hand.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, absolutely, voice.

- 39:54Speaker 1: back to this football weekend recap with Greg Olsen on
- 39:57Speaker 1: Busting with the Boys. You know, everybody's waking up this
- 40:00Speaker 1: morning in New England just feeling like dog shit.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Dog shit. But that's also we talked about when you
- 40:04Speaker 2: walk into a locker room with a team that's like,
- 40:07Speaker 2: you know, there's a bunch of issues. If you're the Patriots,
- 40:10Speaker 2: you're coming off of bye Mike Rabel up until yesterday
- 40:13Speaker 2: was undefeated off of a bye week. They lose this game,
- 40:16Speaker 2: I'm sure there's a level of like, oh no, no, no, no, no,
- 40:19Speaker 2: we messed it up. We were up twenty one zero,
- 40:22Speaker 2: twenty four to seven. We should have put that game
- 40:24Speaker 2: away in the second half and we got lazy and
- 40:27Speaker 2: there's a new fire that's taking place in a province.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it was probably the best thing to happen to
- 40:31Speaker 1: the Patriots, no doubt, dude.
- 40:34Speaker 3: So I got a question though, for Will When when
- 40:38Speaker 3: did the momentum of that game switch.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Right out of the second half? Yeah, right out of
- 40:45Speaker 1: the second half when they kickoff back and it's like
- 40:48Speaker 1: they win that.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Explain that to me. How you are You're up twenty
- 40:52Speaker 3: one and you have all the momentum and then you lose.
- 40:55Speaker 3: I don't get it.
- 41:00Speaker 1: God, handle yourself, bro, there's nothing. Gregg's right, No, he's not.
- 41:05Speaker 1: And tell them what you're talking about. When the Buffalo
- 41:08Speaker 1: Bills came.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Out coming out of halftime, yah, coming out half after
- 41:11Speaker 2: adjustments were made, understanding that the momentum is on the patriotside,
- 41:14Speaker 2: we need to string plays together.
- 41:16Speaker 1: Rallying light fire. Hey, we're going to come off, so we're.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Getting this ball.
- 41:20Speaker 3: We're getting this ball.
- 41:21Speaker 2: No, no, no, no. The game plan we walked in with
- 41:23Speaker 2: is clearly not the game plan we needed to win.
- 41:25Speaker 2: We've seen the plays. This is how we make our adjustments.
- 41:27Speaker 2: They're also making adjustments. The good thing about being down
- 41:30Speaker 2: at halftime is you understand your game plan needs to
- 41:33Speaker 2: change when you're up by as much as the Patriots are,
- 41:36Speaker 2: they're not looking with a critical eye, being like we
- 41:38Speaker 2: need to change X, Y and Z because everything they
- 41:39Speaker 2: have is working. Bills made changes. Momentum is a series
- 41:44Speaker 2: by serious case by case. You can break down all
- 41:47Speaker 2: of it.
- 41:47Speaker 1: It's like a fighter. When the bell rings, you make
- 41:49Speaker 1: it to the end of the round, you can recreate
- 41:51Speaker 1: some momentum in that corner.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Right sounds and to me, it sounds like you guys
- 41:57Speaker 3: are talking execution, right game plan and plays and the ability.
- 42:03Speaker 3: That's what it sounds like to me, not emotion and
- 42:06Speaker 3: vibes and feel That's what I'm hearing. Am I wrong?
- 42:09Speaker 2: You are? You are absolutely right, and you'll know this.
- 42:12Speaker 2: It all goes completely hand in hand. When you have
- 42:15Speaker 2: a game plan and you execute that game plan, that
- 42:18Speaker 2: momentum rises, and so do the vibes. Believe starts to
- 42:21Speaker 2: take place. When you're getting that asked bet by three
- 42:23Speaker 2: touchdowns and you've got people tweeting the Patriots week schedule,
- 42:27Speaker 2: the haters are sick right now type of stuff. You
- 42:30Speaker 2: you feel a little more confident now the bills coming
- 42:32Speaker 2: like sh okay, it really is just a two score game.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Then they go three and out. Now you're feeling momentum built. Hey,
- 42:38Speaker 2: they're not as good as we think they are.
- 42:39Speaker 1: We're all making No I'm trolling.
- 42:43Speaker 3: Can I ask one more questions?
- 42:44Speaker 1: Ahead?
- 42:44Speaker 3: Sorry?
- 42:44Speaker 1: Go ahead?
- 42:45Speaker 3: Well no, go ahead? Well, sorry, go ahead.
- 42:46Speaker 1: I was gonna say, when greg'sitting there talking about feeling
- 42:49Speaker 1: vibes emotion, that's what I always feeling when I put
- 42:52Speaker 1: that tweet out, And I didn't see it flipping on
- 42:54Speaker 1: me like that whatsoever. I truly did. It's not like
- 42:57Speaker 1: I'm with you. There's been so much what you treat.
- 43:00Speaker 1: So it went twenty one to nothing.
- 43:03Speaker 3: And as you said, I didn't see it.
- 43:04Speaker 2: I said, I here, Uh this is this is twenty
- 43:08Speaker 2: one hours ago. So we are right around the right
- 43:12Speaker 2: about halftime the Patriots quote week's schedule. Haters are sick
- 43:16Speaker 2: watching this ass beating on the Buffalo Bills.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and then they turn it around come back. I
- 43:23Speaker 1: end up having to make a thread of a posting
- 43:25Speaker 1: the Simba running from the stampede as the Buffalo Bills
- 43:29Speaker 1: were coming back and momentums everything. Yeah.
- 43:33Speaker 3: Hey, Can I ask another question though? And I'm genuinely.
- 43:36Speaker 3: This is a genuine question. So the Thursday night game,
- 43:43Speaker 3: Atlanta's down fourteen, they score, they go for two. They fail. Yeah,
- 43:48Speaker 3: they get the interception, they get the ball, they go
- 43:51Speaker 3: back down and score again. So they've scored back to
- 43:54Speaker 3: back touchdowns. Had all the momentum failed the second point
- 44:01Speaker 3: after try. I was told the second point after try,
- 44:03Speaker 3: especially after scoring two touchdowns, everyone's feeling so much better,
- 44:07Speaker 3: you're more likely to get it. Obviously didn't happen. They
- 44:11Speaker 3: missed them both. The fifteen conversation after the Philly game,
- 44:16Speaker 3: I was told that you should go for two after
- 44:18Speaker 3: the second touchdown because after scoring two touchdowns in a row,
- 44:21Speaker 3: you've got all the momentum, you're more likely to convert.
- 44:24Speaker 3: The two point. Didn't happen. I was also told that
- 44:27Speaker 3: after not tying the game like they would have without
- 44:30Speaker 3: with the two kicks, they would have tied the game,
- 44:32Speaker 3: the defense was not going to play as motivated and
- 44:35Speaker 3: was not going to be as the urgency was not
- 44:37Speaker 3: going to be there because instead of being tied on losing,
- 44:42Speaker 3: they went out, got the ball right back, and they
- 44:45Speaker 3: went down to kick the field goal. So I guess
- 44:46Speaker 3: I'm just trying to understand why they kept playing hard
- 44:52Speaker 3: despite not tying the game, despite having all the momentum.
- 44:56Speaker 3: They failed the two point try. I'm just trying to
- 44:59Speaker 3: keep try. When the emotions mattered, when the execution mattered,
- 45:03Speaker 3: when the vibes were good bad, It's hard for me
- 45:07Speaker 3: to keep track of it.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Here's what I'll say, Greg, you won this week, you
- 45:14Speaker 1: won this battle. The war continues. There will be situations
- 45:18Speaker 1: now or we'll be right back here and I'll get
- 45:21Speaker 1: to do the same type of trolling you're doing to
- 45:23Speaker 1: me right now. I will win this week. I win
- 45:26Speaker 1: this week.
- 45:26Speaker 3: The outcome no, no, no, See here's the difference. I'm
- 45:29Speaker 3: not saying that I'm right because they won the game.
- 45:33Speaker 3: I'm laying in bed and like you, I'm getting fired
- 45:36Speaker 3: on Twitter because people like, where's Olsen now going for two?
- 45:40Speaker 3: They're gonna lose, and I'm sitting there like I would
- 45:43Speaker 3: still go for two down fourteen. They didn't and they're
- 45:46Speaker 3: probably gonna lose. And this definitely is on the other
- 45:50Speaker 3: camp side, anecdotally seat because again we want to judge
- 45:55Speaker 3: the result instead of what's actually happened. Here's the reality
- 45:59Speaker 3: of all this. If you're down fourteen fifteen thirteen. Any
- 46:04Speaker 3: you're probably gonna lose more times than not anyway, so yes,
- 46:09Speaker 3: more chances than not you're gonna lose the game. And
- 46:11Speaker 3: then you guys see, it was a stupid decision. Being
- 46:15Speaker 3: down fourteen is not a great strategy. Being down fifteen
- 46:17Speaker 3: is not a great strategy. They happened to win the game.
- 46:21Speaker 3: And that's my entire point, the mote to put to
- 46:24Speaker 3: say that teams are trying less hard more hard. I
- 46:28Speaker 3: scored two touchdowns, so I'm gonna get the two versus
- 46:31Speaker 3: my first touchdown. The defense is no longer tired. But
- 46:34Speaker 3: I thought they were so tired. They're on their heels,
- 46:36Speaker 3: they're reelings their sucking wind. We talk all these cliches.
- 46:42Speaker 3: All I'm simply saying is I'm not debating that we
- 46:45Speaker 3: all haven't felt these things. We all do as humans.
- 46:48Speaker 3: I'm just saying they don't matter.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Yeah, gosh, can I just say, Greg, having you on
- 46:54Speaker 2: the show, that was a masterclass, That was a master class.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Any vondas at the end of it too, I don't
- 47:00Speaker 2: know what that means. Vince fun Vince FONND wedding crashers
- 47:02Speaker 2: are they're sucking win, They're not sucking win the defensive sign,
- 47:04Speaker 2: but are they really tired? Now we're sitting here and
- 47:06Speaker 2: we're thinking, is everybody actually just tired? And it's actually
- 47:08Speaker 2: a sequelized.
- 47:09Speaker 1: He got me to say he won, but he's like,
- 47:11Speaker 1: that's that, that doesn't even matter. He got me focused
- 47:13Speaker 1: on something else. No, No, I'm not even talking about that. Yeah,
- 47:16Speaker 1: and then goes on and you know, finishes it off
- 47:18Speaker 1: by putting me at your and buckling me in right.
- 47:20Speaker 2: And give you a little kiss on the cheek.
- 47:21Speaker 1: You want some snatch it again? Hey, hey, you did it,
- 47:27Speaker 1: and you did a great job of it.
- 47:29Speaker 2: And I will say, like what I was going to
- 47:31Speaker 2: say before we jumped into all that was is having
- 47:34Speaker 2: you on Mondays has like changed the way I've watched
- 47:37Speaker 2: end of games to where I'm I'm leaning on the
- 47:40Speaker 2: side of Olsen camp, Like, hey, does motivate, does motivation, momentum?
- 47:43Speaker 2: All these things doesn't really matter. When it's like you're
- 47:45Speaker 2: down by fourteen, you score a touchdown, you go for
- 47:47Speaker 2: two because you're much more likely to get fifty percent
- 47:50Speaker 2: than one hundred percent, so you might as well try
- 47:52Speaker 2: to go for it once. Question of the game, right thirty,
- 47:56Speaker 2: we're talking about the Buffalo Bills and the Patriots. It's
- 47:58Speaker 2: thirty five thirty one. Literally took a photo of this
- 48:00Speaker 2: and I was like, I gotta ask what he would
- 48:02Speaker 2: do in the situation.
- 48:02Speaker 3: Wait, catch that game, so.
- 48:04Speaker 2: You know what pisses me off to and we got
- 48:06Speaker 2: to figure this out. I don't have your number. I've
- 48:08Speaker 2: multiple times have been like, great.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Need to be Hey, we'll get it. Let's get a
- 48:12Speaker 1: group going.
- 48:13Speaker 2: And I've honestly won asket but a place's embarss. So
- 48:16Speaker 2: we've gone this wrong.
- 48:17Speaker 3: I bench press last week. Boys woke up very sore,
- 48:19Speaker 3: no shit for reps.
- 48:22Speaker 2: No hoo many.
- 48:24Speaker 3: Not enough.
- 48:27Speaker 2: Brother may as that I've worked out three times. Okay,
- 48:31Speaker 2: thirty five thirty one. Now the Patriots, this is the
- 48:34Speaker 2: Bills are now beating the Patriots. So the Patriots are
- 48:37Speaker 2: up at one point momentum, the whole thing we're still
- 48:39Speaker 2: talking about.
- 48:40Speaker 3: That got it.
- 48:40Speaker 2: It's thirty five thirty one. The Patriots are on let's
- 48:43Speaker 2: say the thirty yard line, the Bills thirty yard line.
- 48:46Speaker 2: So if they don't get a first down here, it's
- 48:48Speaker 2: essentially the game is over. There's five minutes and nineteen
- 48:51Speaker 2: seconds left. It's fourth and twelve. Are you going to
- 48:55Speaker 2: go for it in this situation and define the game?
- 48:57Speaker 2: Or is that way out of hand?
- 48:58Speaker 3: At this point, you're the plus, you're on the plus thirty.
- 49:02Speaker 2: You're in a tree, You're you're on the minus side.
- 49:05Speaker 2: So the Patriots if they turned the ball over, yeah,
- 49:08Speaker 2: If the Patriots turn the ball over, god, yeah.
- 49:10Speaker 3: So they turned it over on downs on the minus
- 49:12Speaker 3: thirty down four, right, they went for fourth and twelve
- 49:16Speaker 3: and failed.
- 49:16Speaker 2: They did not go for it. They ended up punting
- 49:18Speaker 2: it away and while and when they're punting it away,
- 49:20Speaker 2: I'm thinking, Okay, the Bills at this point and this
- 49:23Speaker 2: half have scored so much over you and.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Have come and what did the Bills do when they
- 49:28Speaker 3: got The Bills.
- 49:29Speaker 2: End up going They end up not scoring, and the
- 49:32Speaker 2: Patriots get get the ball again. They get the ball again,
- 49:34Speaker 2: they have a two minute, they fail, they end up
- 49:36Speaker 2: losing the game. Anyway, I think the result of the
- 49:37Speaker 2: game was the same score, thirty five thirty one. I
- 49:40Speaker 2: have to look at it.
- 49:41Speaker 3: So was this I'm trying to put Yeah, so this
- 49:46Speaker 3: was the punt. So they punted fourth and twenty trioits
- 49:50Speaker 3: punted fourth and twelve.
- 49:52Speaker 2: I think they're on like the thirty yard line, but
- 49:54Speaker 2: they're not going in. They're coming out right, soah, fourth
- 49:58Speaker 2: and twelve at the twenty five and it's five to
- 50:02Speaker 2: nineteen left the Bills of nineteen. The Bills have scored like,
- 50:06Speaker 2: you know, thirty five to or whatever, twenty eight to
- 50:09Speaker 2: three in the second half. So you're saying, by punting
- 50:13Speaker 2: this ball away, we're I think they're taking a knee
- 50:17Speaker 2: based on your logic, because they're gonna go down and
- 50:19Speaker 2: score again, or they're gonna be able to keep kind
- 50:22Speaker 2: of doing what they've been doing to you with the
- 50:23Speaker 2: score this.
- 50:24Speaker 3: High, or at the very least, they don't score, but
- 50:26Speaker 3: they just get you under the two minute warning. They
- 50:29Speaker 3: bleed you out the run game. So by being only
- 50:31Speaker 3: up four there now fourth and twelve sucks.
- 50:35Speaker 2: That's a shitty one.
- 50:36Speaker 3: It's a shitty one, right, So like that's probably the
- 50:39Speaker 3: one asterisk. I'm probably still going for it. And here's
- 50:42Speaker 3: why I'm gonna speed up you scoring on me, right,
- 50:46Speaker 3: I haven't stopped you. You've got thirty five points. I
- 50:49Speaker 3: can't stop a soul. You've scored thirty five damn near unanswered.
- 50:53Speaker 3: I'm being down four. I'm not afraid I'll give my
- 50:57Speaker 3: chances to go for fourth down to maintain possession. If
- 50:59Speaker 3: I fail, you're probably gonna go run, run, run, kick
- 51:03Speaker 3: a field goal to go up seven. So obviously I
- 51:06Speaker 3: can't let you score a touchdown of the game's over.
- 51:08Speaker 3: But I'm saying, okay, short field, we narrow it down.
- 51:12Speaker 3: You're trying to bleed clock. You're trying to at least
- 51:14Speaker 3: say I gotta come away here with three points. How
- 51:18Speaker 3: aggressive are you gonna be? Are you really gonna go
- 51:20Speaker 3: for the death shot? Are you gonna be okay kicking
- 51:22Speaker 3: a field goal? I'm probably okay taking my chances because
- 51:26Speaker 3: I can still keep it a one possession game at seven.
- 51:29Speaker 3: If I'm trailing there by six, now the math turns
- 51:33Speaker 3: into okay, I let you score. Now it turns into
- 51:36Speaker 3: a two possession game. But if I punt it back
- 51:38Speaker 3: to you and you bleed too much clock and still
- 51:41Speaker 3: kick a field goal, now I really don't have a chance.
- 51:44Speaker 3: So all those situations, my brain says, you gotta maintain possession.
- 51:50Speaker 3: Even if you give New England the ball on the
- 51:52Speaker 3: short field, then you've got to hold them to a
- 51:55Speaker 3: field goals, maintown seven and give the ball back to Drake.
- 51:58Speaker 3: May you punt it away? Did they go three and
- 52:01Speaker 3: out and get the ball right back?
- 52:02Speaker 2: I don't know if it was three and out, but
- 52:04Speaker 2: they had the ball I think either right before.
- 52:08Speaker 3: They got they.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Got the ball back.
- 52:10Speaker 2: But okay, does it?
- 52:11Speaker 1: Does it?
- 52:12Speaker 2: I didn't. I didn't mention this would be unfair to
- 52:13Speaker 2: you to not bring it up. They have Patriots have
- 52:15Speaker 2: all their time out, all their time outs, have all
- 52:17Speaker 2: their timeouts rabels. Yeah, so they have all their timeouts.
- 52:20Speaker 2: It's fourth and twelve. You're backed up on like your
- 52:24Speaker 2: twenty five.
- 52:25Speaker 3: You're not giving the ball back to Josh Allen at all?
- 52:29Speaker 2: Right, you don't want to, so you want to go
- 52:31Speaker 2: for the fourth score on me.
- 52:33Speaker 3: I'm going to do everything in my power to maintain
- 52:35Speaker 3: possession of the ball.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Okay, let's und I know you are, but let's go
- 52:39Speaker 2: fourth and twelve. Fourth and twelve, they don't get it. Okay,
- 52:42Speaker 2: So now you're the Bills. You're essentially in your red
- 52:46Speaker 2: zone fringe area, and I hate that. I can't remember
- 52:48Speaker 2: the exact yard line they were on. If you yeah,
- 52:51Speaker 2: I'm saying, do you say we're either going to be
- 52:54Speaker 2: up by four or up by eleven or is it
- 52:57Speaker 2: we're going to take the three because in my mind,
- 52:59Speaker 2: based on your law, if I'm picking up everything, is
- 53:01Speaker 2: this is not a kick of field goal situation even
- 53:03Speaker 2: though we're in it, because the amount of touchdowns or
- 53:06Speaker 2: the amount of scores it takes is still the same regardless.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a great point, right. Anticipating what is the
- 53:12Speaker 3: track record of your opponent is a huge element of
- 53:15Speaker 3: how they build all these models, and I think it's
- 53:17Speaker 3: a really important nuance. So when each team sets these
- 53:21Speaker 3: scenarios up in these big books that these guys have upstairs,
- 53:24Speaker 3: where this is all planned out what we do in
- 53:26Speaker 3: every scenario each week, the math does change a little bit.
- 53:30Speaker 3: Everyone has this oh with it's just blanket mathematics that
- 53:34Speaker 3: it doesn't apply to you because your right guard is out,
- 53:37Speaker 3: or your left tackle is not good, or your quarterback
- 53:39Speaker 3: is hurt. It absolutely takes all that into account. It
- 53:43Speaker 3: takes into account the team you're playing against. If I'm
- 53:46Speaker 3: playing against Dan Campbell, I have to really sit down
- 53:49Speaker 3: all week and say, Okay, he's going to really be
- 53:51Speaker 3: aggressive on fourth down, He's not going to settle for
- 53:53Speaker 3: field goals. He's going to play a certain way. How
- 53:56Speaker 3: am I willing to alter my strategy that I don't
- 53:59Speaker 3: fall too far behind and I lose too many possessions.
- 54:02Speaker 3: So a big evaluation there for Varibel has to be Okay,
- 54:05Speaker 3: I fail here and I give the ball back to
- 54:08Speaker 3: McDermott and Joe Brady aside from them wanting to bleed
- 54:12Speaker 3: clock make me start burning through my timeouts. If I'm McDermott,
- 54:17Speaker 3: I don't love the idea being up seven because more
- 54:20Speaker 3: often than not, if you do go down and score,
- 54:22Speaker 3: you're probably going to go for two. Now with the
- 54:25Speaker 3: new overtime rules, I'll be curious to see how this
- 54:28Speaker 3: plays out over long periods of time. In the old days,
- 54:31Speaker 3: you went for two and you just said I got
- 54:32Speaker 3: a chance to win the game. I'm either going to
- 54:34Speaker 3: win or lose in regulation. Now there is an argument
- 54:37Speaker 3: with the new each team possessing the ball, maybe that
- 54:41Speaker 3: does shift the decision making. I don't think we've seen
- 54:43Speaker 3: enough quantity of attempts for it to really flush out
- 54:46Speaker 3: how teams handle end of regulation go for two or
- 54:49Speaker 3: kick an extra point. But yes, if it's me, I'm
- 54:52Speaker 3: in four down mode unless it's fourth and fifteen and
- 54:56Speaker 3: I'm saying I'm scoring a touchdown at all costs to
- 54:59Speaker 3: an sence, make this a two score game, and you
- 55:01Speaker 3: don't have enough time to have the ball twice. So
- 55:04Speaker 3: there's a lot of my decisions and the anticipation of
- 55:08Speaker 3: what you have to do. That's a really unique situation.
- 55:11Speaker 3: The fourth and twelve is what gives me a little pause.
- 55:14Speaker 2: That's what when I saw the fourth and drowls are
- 55:17Speaker 2: really curious to see.
- 55:18Speaker 3: Hodds are just not great converting that. So fourth and
- 55:24Speaker 3: seven are under I'm saying all day, I'm going to
- 55:27Speaker 3: try to maintain possession fourth and twelve. I could probably
- 55:29Speaker 3: make a great argument that punting might be the right move.
- 55:35Speaker 3: Do I think McDermott's thinking four down mode? Or do
- 55:38Speaker 3: I think he feels better going from four to seven? Probably?
- 55:43Speaker 3: I think Again, we talk about this a lot. There's
- 55:44Speaker 3: a psychology there where let's say McDermott gets the ball.
- 55:49Speaker 3: This is a this is a fun kind of exercise
- 55:51Speaker 3: because you talk about the postgame press conference. You guys
- 55:54Speaker 3: know how I feel about that shaping a lot of decisions.
- 55:57Speaker 3: Let's say that scenario plays out. They go for it, fail,
- 56:00Speaker 3: give the ball back to Buffalo. Buffalo gets the fourth
- 56:04Speaker 3: and four and goes for it and fails, and they
- 56:09Speaker 3: go the length of the field and Drake May walk
- 56:11Speaker 3: you off and they win. What's an easy what's an
- 56:15Speaker 3: easier postgame press conference that? Or you kick a field goal,
- 56:20Speaker 3: Drake May goes down, scores a touchdown, gets the two
- 56:23Speaker 3: point conversion and beat you, or forces overtime and beat you.
- 56:28Speaker 1: The easier on's the heart the hardest.
- 56:31Speaker 3: Those are easier. Those are easier. Hey, we got to
- 56:33Speaker 3: get better. Or two minute drive. We gave ourselves a chance.
- 56:36Speaker 3: We competed right till the end. We came right down
- 56:38Speaker 3: to the last play of the game. We're right there, right,
- 56:41Speaker 3: there's this false notion that that way of losing feels better.
- 56:46Speaker 3: Then I passed up a field goal, and now I
- 56:50Speaker 3: open myself up to just losing flat out. That's a
- 56:54Speaker 3: harder explanation for a coach to face, which is why
- 56:57Speaker 3: a lot of these coaches are going to error towards
- 57:00Speaker 3: kick the field goal, go up seven, and you know what,
- 57:02Speaker 3: if we don't win, our players need to be better.
- 57:05Speaker 3: This is on the We got to be better on defense.
- 57:07Speaker 3: We got to be better in two minutes, right Like
- 57:09Speaker 3: that's that's the human nature. Of all of this. So
- 57:13Speaker 3: I think that's a great scenario because both teams theoretically
- 57:17Speaker 3: could have had really interesting decisions based on what the
- 57:21Speaker 3: other team did. So very good decision, very good example, Taylor.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I appreciate that. I think, uh, but this is
- 57:27Speaker 2: also where I understand your mindset and everything when it
- 57:32Speaker 2: comes to you know, play calling and all that. But
- 57:36Speaker 2: momentum doesn't matter. If you look at the second.
- 57:38Speaker 3: Half, I say it doesn't matter. I'm not saying it's you.
- 57:40Speaker 1: I say it's not much much.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Of a factor. But if I'm vable, and I have
- 57:45Speaker 2: not stopped the Bills at all the entire second half,
- 57:48Speaker 2: and my only score in the second half was an
- 57:52Speaker 2: explosive run play by Hendrick Hendrickson or Henderson Henderson thank
- 57:56Speaker 2: you well supposed to be answering. So essentially my offense
- 57:59Speaker 2: has been non exists in the second half. I'm based
- 58:02Speaker 2: on all of our conversations that we had, I'm thinking
- 58:05Speaker 2: fourth and twelve, you got to go for it because
- 58:06Speaker 2: regardless you would think when they I don't think everybody's
- 58:10Speaker 2: at this new way of thinking it where they're they're
- 58:12Speaker 2: gonna run, run, run, kick the three. And now nothing's
- 58:15Speaker 2: changed about the game. It's still a one score game.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Yeah. No, here's their second half possessions for the Patriots.
- 58:21Speaker 3: Three plays minus six yards, seven plays, interception, one sixty
- 58:28Speaker 3: five yard touchdown, three plays minus seven punt, four plays
- 58:33Speaker 3: five yards downs. That was their that was their second
- 58:38Speaker 3: half possessions. Go.
- 58:40Speaker 4: Yeah, so that's where and here and here was Buffalo touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown,
- 58:49Speaker 4: punt Neil god.
- 58:53Speaker 2: So that's where momentum, in my mind is is a
- 58:55Speaker 2: huge is a big factor. It's like the.
- 59:00Speaker 3: How do I want to give the team to the
- 59:01Speaker 3: better offense, give the ball to the offense with the
- 59:03Speaker 3: best player in the league who I can't stop.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I just I have a new scenario for you.
- 59:10Speaker 3: Love it now.
- 59:11Speaker 1: This is I'm very curious. Let's say there's less than
- 59:15Speaker 1: four minutes left or you're getting toward the end of
- 59:17Speaker 1: the game. I want to say this happened in a
- 59:19Speaker 1: situation yesterday. I can't recall which game it was, but
- 59:22Speaker 1: the team scores to go up their six points now
- 59:27Speaker 1: gives them a seven point lead before the extra point.
- 59:31Speaker 1: Extra point gives them an eight point lead. My question is,
- 59:35Speaker 1: in that situation, why would you not think about going
- 59:39Speaker 1: for two to make it a nine point game. So
- 59:43Speaker 1: that way you're getting a true two possession game. Saw
- 59:46Speaker 1: which game was that?
- 59:47Speaker 3: I saw somebody sent me on on Twitter.
- 59:50Speaker 1: I want to say. I want to say, I see
- 59:52Speaker 1: somebody else walking or post about it too. I want
- 59:54Speaker 1: to say, because I want to shout out the boy.
- 59:56Speaker 1: I think it's a I saw somebody asking this, Gosh
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: damn it. Jake Maliseak, Jake Malisek with John Gruden. Yeah,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: over at barstool, he was asking the same thing. And
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I've been curious about that as well.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: All right, so here's my approach on that. And it's
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: a valid point, right, being up eight versus being up nine.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: Once you go up nine, it's a must two possession game, right,
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: you have to score twice. And an eight point game
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: is a one score game. Call it half the time, right,
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: So chance of it being a one score game, it's
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: not a guaranteed one score game. You could need two possessions.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: At nine points, you obviously need two possessions. I want
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: to say, there was like eight or nine minutes to
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: go in that game when they kicked the extra point.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: If I'm not mistaken, you can fact check me there, Okay,
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: So my typical perspective is at eight or nine, with
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: eight or nine minutes, you're gonna give your opponent at
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: least two possessions, so just the score. At this point
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: of the game, you start talking about how many possessions
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: in a regular game, no on side kick and all that.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: How many possessions is your opponent.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Going to get?
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: If there's if it's at a point of a game
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: where say you're under the two minute warning and I'm
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: the underdog and it's Josh Allen and he's my opponent,
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: do I want to give the ball to Josh Allen
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: with down eight or do I want to just make
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: this nine and say he could be Josh Allen and
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: he can go down there and score on me. He
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: has to score on sidekick, get it score again the
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: odds of me, I feel a lot more comfortable defending
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: that lead in those situations. But there's a time element,
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: right putting Josh Allen down by nine with the risk
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: of only being.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: Trying to put him down by nine, because again, if
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: the offense gets the ball back, they could just go
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: to at the end and then they could get you
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: because again you're only up by seven.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: So correct, So where that's where the time element comes
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: in and changes a lot of these factors. Right, you
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: go back to our thing that started all this craziness
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: was the down fifteen of Philadelphia. I would make an
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: argument if you're down fifteen and you're at a point
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: of a game where you have to onside kick anyway,
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: right because there's a minute thirty left when you score,
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: I'm kicking an extra point because no matter what, I'm
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: still taking the on side kick after that scores, even
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: if I'm down eight, i still have to on side
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: kick to get the ball back because there's only a
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: minute thirty. I'm not gonna be able to get the
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: ball back with any meaningful time to go down to score.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: Now that scenario there was like just under four minutes.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: If I get the two point conversion, I don't have
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: to onside kick, right because I'm only down seven. I
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: have my three timeouts plus the two minute warning, I'm
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: gonna kick it deep. So a lot of these decision
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: making in those scenarios are very time dependent. The less time, right,
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: it's teams when to go for two to win the
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: game and when to kick the extra point to tie
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: the game. So it was the Panthers game yesterday, they're
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: up seven team ten. New Orleans goes down to score
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: a touchdown, but they only kicked the extra point to
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: make it seventeen seventeen. If there was thirty seconds left
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: in that game, that's a much different conversation. Now, if
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: I go for two, I win in regulation and virtually
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: the game is over because you got thirty seconds in
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: no timeouts. But there was a lot of time left.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: It was on the plus side of the two minute warning.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: I want to say they gave the ball back to
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: Carolina with like two thirty on the clock. You're better
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: off being tied with two thirty on the clock than
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: even being up one. Because now, what does being up
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: one do? It puts Bryce Young into four down mode,
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: hyper aggressive to go down to beat you. What did
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: Caroline do? It was tied, they went incomplete, incomplete, He
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: was able to scramble for a first down. Long story short,
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: they took a sack, they could, they punted it back
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: to you. Now you now New Orleans went down on
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: the game winning drive. So all of these situations, whether
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: it's going up eight verse nine, whether it's going for
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: two early, whether it's going for two to win the
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: game in regulation, take a lead or tie it. Time
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: is a critical element. Come the back half of the
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: fourth quarter got you?
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: So is there a cutoff in your brain when there
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: was eight nine minutes left and this again, I forget
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: which game it was, but this team kicks up to
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: go up eight instead of thinking about going for two
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: to make it nine points. Is there a cutoff to
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: where it's like, hey, I'm going to try and get
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: nine points in this situation risk?
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: I don't think you have the timeouts, the two minute
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: warning timeouts. How many times can you stop the clock
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: two minute warning timeouts?
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: And what is the likelihood of you possessing the ball
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: and without getting an onside kick, without something crazy happening?
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: What is the chances in a normal flow game of
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: you possessing the ball two more times? If the likelihood
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: is that you're going to possess the ball two more times,
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: it's not as valuable. I'm better off being up eight.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: Kick disra point to be up eight. Where at least
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: you can't beat me in a one possession game. You
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: can only at best time me and fifty percent of
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: the time you're gonna still lose to me. Yeah, Yeah,
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: but if I can make it nine, you have to
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: touch the ball twice? Yeah, do you have enough time
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: for that to happen without a five percent chance of
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: an on side kick? That's where my head goes making
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: those decisions.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: Gotcha?
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: And who am I.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Kicking the ball back to right a lot of area?
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: Am my kicking the ball? Am I kicking the ball
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: back to a team that can't score? Worth the shit?
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: Or am I kicking the ball back to a team
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: that scored four touchdowns in a row? On me? Like Buffalo?
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's really these conversations show Like as I've gotten
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: more and more out of the league, I've realized how
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: important coaching is. And I know it's a weird thing
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: to say, but like, as a player, I think we
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: live in this world of like brainwashing, like we're gonna
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: get it done for the boys, especially in college, Like
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: you're like, hey, we can win every single game because
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: a grit and spit in the whole thing. And then
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: as you get farther farther remove, do you realize how
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: these little moments in games, how critically important they are.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: And it's just it's, dude, it's so fascinating to like
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: be thirty four years old, three years out of the league,
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: and like still like being like, yo, this is insane.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: I didn't even know this when I was playing. How
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: important this was.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: Did you see the Mike McDonald interview after the game.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: Everyone's talking a lot about it, about him using those timeouts.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: Indianapolis had the ball before they went down to take
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: the go ahead field goal. They asked Mike McDonald about,
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: how did you squeeze out another possession and you ended
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: up giving yourself another opportunity to go answer the field
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: goal which eventually walked off Indy, And he talked about
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: his analytics guy and how they build these and mentioned
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: the guy by name, and the guy's like, hey, and
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: we've said this a thousand times on broadcast, so it's
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: nice to now hear these coaches say it in postgame interviews.
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: For now everybody to cover it. You always use your
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: timeouts on defense. You always use your timeouts on defense
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: because I can't stop the clock on defense like I
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: can on offense. And by doing that, you hear these
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: coaches all the time say, oh, save one for the kick,
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: save one for your offense. You're better off having more
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: time with no timeouts than less time with more timeouts
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: as an offense, so they burn time out, time out,
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: time out, they end up kicking a field goal. You
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: get the ball back with no timeouts. But I can
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: stop the clock, I can clock it, I can throw
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: it out of bounds, I can get you know, there's
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: a million ways for me to do it. If they
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: would have said, oh, we've got to save a time
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: out for the field goal, we've got to save a
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: timeout for the offense, that time is way more valuable
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: to your offense than that one timeout. And Mike McDonald
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: played it perfectly, called all of his timeouts on the
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: minus side of the two minute warning, all on defense,
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: gave his offense a chance and they won. Yeah, that
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: wasn't a that was not an emotional in the moment decision.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: That shit was decided four months ago.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: And you have to have a supreme operation offensively because
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: again defensively, you're trying to protect a sideline. More so,
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: of course, can't get started, it can't get the opposite.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: They could have easily. But here's what's funny. He could
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: have done everything the exact same and they don't get
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: in field goal range, or Myers misses the kick and
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: no one after the game is saying, Mike McDonald, you
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: did a great job with your timeouts. Right. The story
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: is you lost to a forty four year old quarterback
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: who retired five years ago. Yeah, so again, we only
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: reward the really good coaches when the outcome benefits them, right,
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: But he still did a great job managing the game.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: The only reason we're talking about it is because they
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: won the game.
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: Righteah, and because Philip Rivers was playing. That's just absolutely incredible, dude.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Chargers Chiefs sixteen thirteen. It's the first time since nineteen
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: ninety eight that the playoffs will not feature Tom Brady,
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: Peyton Manning or Patrick Mahomes since nineteen ninety eight. And
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: I know, like Will, like we've played this game before,
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: of like Will being a hater of the Chiefs, but
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: you like watching the season Week one in Brazil, they
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: play the Chargers, they lose, everyone's like, oh, they'll get
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: back on track, and then as the season's gotten going,
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: they've kind of gone from this. Like anytime the Chiefs lose,
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: it's like, oh, their offensive line was kind of overpowered
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: and Patrick Mahomes didn't have time to do as much magic.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: And then later in the season in late November early December.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: It turned into, Hey, these guys that were so used
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: to making incredible plays aren't making those plays, whether it's drops, miscues,
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: all these types of things. And then yesterday happens where
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes rolls out to the right his left leg
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: hyper extents. It looks like an ACL. I think it
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: was confirmed by Patrick himself that it is an ACL,
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: and we are potentially looking at the last time Kelsey
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: and Mahomes are together this Chiefs run. You know, there's
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: a lot of question marks taking place, and I don't
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: really know where this conversation is going on than like
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: this is fucking wild, tough ta take place.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: As as a guy who's been like a Chiefs troll,
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: Chiefs hater, I didn't even feel good feeling celebratory in
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: the Chiefs losing and officially being out of playoffs because
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: the Bills won two against New England that's what knocked
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: them out. Yeah, to see Mahomes go down, bro, it's heartbreaking.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: And again it's like another bizarre stat was I want
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: to say Tom Brady in his ninth season towards ACL,
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: they didn't make New England, didn't make the playoffs. Patrick
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: Mahomes ninth season in the NFL tears his ACL. Chiefs
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: didn't make the playoffs. Just a lot of these weird
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: dots getting connected. Is the Chiefs dynasty over? Is that
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: the last time we're ever going to see Travis Kelce
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: on the football field? Patrick Mahomes Just tearing your ACL
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: in fucking December two. It's just brutal, especially when you're
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: trying to save the season. It's not likely that you're
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: gonna make the playoffs, and they see it happen that way,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: is you know, shitty man. So, yeah, you're gonna you're
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: gonna be training all off season, You're gonna be getting
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: you know, you're gonna be dialed in and locked in.
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: You have to be if you're going to make what
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: week one of next year?
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you have of essentially like these next Like Greg,
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: you've ever you've never an ACL?
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: No?
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Okay, well, the ACL game is this Like when you
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: tear your ACL. A lot of times guys can go
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: get surgery twenty four forty eight hours later, or some
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: times it takes guys multiple weeks. You'll get the surgery
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: and they have to actually exercise the leg to pump
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: out the swelling because the knee based on how much swelling.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: If you have a lot of it, then you have
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: to take time to get that swelling up before you
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: can go. And so every day week that takes place.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: Like right now, we're on that fringe area, where can
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes make it eight months from now to week one?
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: And that's gonna be the storyline heading into July with
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: the Chiefs with their revamped offensive, whether Kelsey is there
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: or not, what kind of new pieces they've they've added
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: to it. It's a it's gonna be a very interesting
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: offseason for Patrick Mahomes cause.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: Is this a player you feel like you're up against
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: the clock every day, up against.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: The clock every single day. And if you could just
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: grab Mahomes and be like, bro, week one does not
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: matter next year. I'm just letting you know, like what
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: matters is making like go to latrosh head over to
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: la get the job done the way it's supposed to
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: do correctly, and then just listen to your body all
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: the way through it. Don't let's not rush the game
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: to week one because we all know how long of
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: a season it is. It just sucks to you because
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: you see all these like distractions coming out of the
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: Mahomes camp the last seven or eight years, and all
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: of the distractions have never been Patrick. It's never been him.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: It's been this or that or all these other things,
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: and for it to happen to him just absolutely sucks
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: because he is one of he's the baby goat right now,
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: and you kind of want them, You kind of want
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: them to like you go from being like kind of
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: relieved that we're seeing a new group of logos in
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: the playoffs too, I'm kind of sitting here being like,
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: I can't wait for this comeback story about Patrick Mahomes,
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: like going in next year and like winning the division
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: and all that, like can he do the storybook type
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: of thing.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: It's just there's such an appreciation for what they've done
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: that even as a competitor, right like even as someone
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: who's you know, granted none of us are still playing,
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: but like even when you're playing and you didn't want
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: New England to win, or you didn't want Indie and
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: you didn't want you know, we didn't want Denver, there
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: was always those teams. But as it just understanding how
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: hard all of this is, you can't help but to
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: have an appreciation for what these guys have done for
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: this long, knowing firsthand how hard it is to get
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: there once, let alone time and time again, you just
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: develop an appreciation where you're like, you know what, Like
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: we're not Chiefs fans, we're not, but like, man, you
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: can't not be a Chiefs fan or a Homes fan,
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: or a Kelsey fan and Andy Reid fan more out
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: of just respect for how hard it is to do
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: what they've done for as long as they have when
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: the league is entirely designed to prevent that from happening.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: The way the schedule, the way the draft order, the
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: way teams get poached talent, coaching staff, cap the way
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: it's capped. You can't pay everyone. Guys get big contracts
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: off winning teams that they're not even that good, But
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: all of a sudden, it's like I need a piece
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: of the Chiefs. I need a piece of the Patriots.
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: And coaches get jobs they wouldn't otherwise get, players get
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: contracts they wouldn't otherwise get. Winning is the greatest preventor
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: of future winning, and it's by design in the NFL.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: So it's more of that for me, Like to see
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: what Travis has done to see what Kelsey's done, I mean,
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: Mahomes and these guys Like I just as a guy
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: who loves football and appreciates how hard it is. I
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: just have a lot of respect for what these guys
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: have done over the last you know, ever many years. Yeah.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: Yeah, just the sickening work ethic and mentality and mentality
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: that goes into showing up year and and you're out,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: Especially when you've been at the top for so long,
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: you can easily like lose that edge, you know, drink
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: your own kool aid all that stuff. And for them
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: to maintain that dominance for so long. Uh Yeah, it's
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: definitely an appreciation and respect just for what that kind
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: of success takes. It's weird. It's it is weird knowing
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: that I've been rooting for the Chiefs downfall and they're
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: actually not in it this year, actually not in it
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: in the way they're not in it too. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: it's almost like not as fun either years ago. Part
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: of me that like, they're not they're not in the playoffs. No,
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: they're not gonna make They've been out of it. Even
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: though this week was the last final domino. In my head,
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: they've been out of it. They're not gonna make it,
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: but the fact that they're not out of it, there's
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: almost this little part of me that was hopeful that
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: would they that they would go on this winning streak
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: and then somehow they make it in the playoffs and
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: the boogey Man made it to the playoffs. It's kind
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: of all that error just feels like it's gone.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: You've won, but at what cost?
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: I know, I know, I know, like I'm sure, uh,
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: wheat goes by, I I'll start to find my energy again,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: my juice about it again. But yesterday the way it
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: went down and then the buff the Bills come back,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: because it's like the Chiefs could lose, but as long
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: as the Patriots win, they still have this little like
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: percent yeah, yeah, something where you can still kind of
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: kind of just throw salt in the wound. But now
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: that it's officially over them, like, this wasn't near as
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: fun as I thought it would.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: Right, you're the Yeah, it's one of those you you
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: can't celebrate until there's the tweet that comes out by
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: Adam Schefter saying that Pat Mahomes has had a successful
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: surgery and everything's all good, And then that's when you
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: can begin your trolling yet again.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: I was a rookie in the NFL twenty fourteen.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: I was in my eighth year.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: Eighth year in the NFL. That's crazy, dude. We got
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: anything else for mister Olson, I.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: Don't think so let me check it and make sure
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: that make sure. Let's see here you have Broncos.
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: I see you got a baseball shirt on.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Is that weird?
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: New season? Now?
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: No? I just this was the first. I had a
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: bad flight coming home from Philly. I had like a
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: four and a half hour delay, so I got home late,
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: woke up early. This was the first T shirt. Just
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: chucked it onto the kid's school.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: How how much longer is your contract with Fox?
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Like?
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: How many more years?
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: Next year is my last year?
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: Perfect? Perfect negotiations? Do you do an incredible job? There's
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: no doubt that fought. You have all the leverage in
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: the world when you negotiate. When you negotiate, it's going
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: to be, hey, that's great, we'll take this money. That
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: sounds awesome. Last thing, before we do anything, I need
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: a private jet to all these things. That would be
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: a that's the move, dude. That means the ultimate game
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: changer man, It's either allocate a certain amount of money
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: in your funds and be like this does like the
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: way our brains work is we take some allocation, we're like,
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: it's like we've never even made that because we're able
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: to get back to our families faster.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: And if you can do.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: Something, we can do it.
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: Eighteen eighteen weeks in a row. That shit adds up
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: if you flew private, if my schedule, I'm just making
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: this up. If I flew private both ways for nineteen weeks,
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: because I got a playoff game this year, so eighteen
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: plus the playoffs, So if I did it nineteen weekends,
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: it's probably a million bucks.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: You gotta find that number. And if you need us too,
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: if you need us to kind of lift, like, hey,
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: I got it off on the table right now, busting
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: with the Yeah, that's the leverage.
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: Yeah, just let us know.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: How do you guys pay?
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: Well, we were more of helping leverage, where so if
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: like if Fox is like, hey, we'll pay you five dollars,
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: we'll be like, hey, we're gonna pay you ten dollars,
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: and they'll be like, funk, we'll pay you seven. Boom,
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: you got them.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: You know we could you pay ten dollars? Yes, you
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: have ten? Could you afford ten? I got it? That's
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: good for ten dollars.
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: You keep saying ten.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: That's what I means.
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: If there's a five and ten, I was speaking dollars.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: Yes, if you want to come to ten million a
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: year like you guys will, Yeah, if you want to
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: come more for bust one of the boys, I can
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: guarantee you ten dollars and I you know what, dude,
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: I'll I'll beget a lifting something.
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: I'm wide enough for an extra seat, there's one.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: We're here, tell you what we get you full time.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: We could talk shop.
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: Yeah, oh we can talk shop. We don't. We're not
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: evenna have the cameras on. We're just gonna talk shop.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: Yeah, we can just talk shop.
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: Yeah, if you if there's a world where Greg Olsen
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: wants to be with the boys.
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: I wish you guys lived I wish you guys lived close,
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: because once a week I got like a group of buddies,
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: more so in the off season because some of them
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: are still playing. And the club we live on here,
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: the Men's Grill, is like my favorite place. I always
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: joke like it's It's literally my favorite place outside of
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: my house in the world is the men's Grill at
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: our club bartenders. You're sitting there, there's games on TVs. Food,
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: it's just a great vibe. There's it's it's a great
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: group of guys. So we have like a weekly offseason.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: We're like a handful of the guys. We go there
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: and we're like, all we're gonna beet there at eleven,
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: and next thing you know, it's like three p thirty.
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: I'm like texting my wife, Hey, I'm not gonna be
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: able to get the kids from Carpoola. Meanwhile, we're talking
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: about complete nonsense, like hiring cycles of the NFL, the
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: new salary. I mean just we are covering pretty much
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: the ship we talk about on here. It is my
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: favorite thing in the world to go hang with the
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: boys and just talk whatever.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: Yeah, man, it sounds like a podcast in the making.
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: I know, the fucking best.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: He g got to your left. We got to start great.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: Yeah, your left to just keep in mind busting what
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: the boys. We're gonna throw a hat in the ring.
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: Dude, Hey, I appreciate you guys.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: My last question, what do you make of the emotion
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: going into Josh Allen potentially being the the the MVP
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: front runner for the NFL. I feel like that that
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: obviously he's gonna be in the conversation. But I'm sitting
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: here like I saw Danny would be, like Josh Allen's
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: the MVP right now after the couple weeks that he's
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: had this eb I get playing late like he's the
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: guy that's got it all on his shoulders, doing less,
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: are doing more with less? Yeah, yeada YadA. But I'm
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: sitting here, It's like, are we really going to get
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: this close to one of the better years that Matt
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: Stafford's ever had where he's got what thirty five touchdowns
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: in one game? Five or seven?
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: A lot's going to be? How I think A lots? Now,
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: remind me when does the voting end?
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: It's before the super Bowl but.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: Count right, Yes, yeah that's what I thought, But it does. Yeah,
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: the super Bowl super Bowl does not count.
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: I think it's gonna all depend on right. I think
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: it's it literally could come down to and again, I
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: think the Rams are nasty. I'm speaking hypotheticals. I'm a
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: huge Stafford guy. You guys know that hypothetically they lost
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: in the Divisional round two. Whoever, and Josh Allen gets
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: over the hump and he makes the super Bowl.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: Yeah that's fair.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: Yeah that's over.
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: So I again, I think the team element come playoffs
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: is going to be a huge differentiating factor because outside
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: of Josh and I guess Stafford, but as far as
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: like the usual suspects that are in that MVP race,
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: no La Mar, no Mahomes, like the usual suspects, the
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: only one left of those names is Josh Allen, and
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: then you got Stafford, and then Drake may is like
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: the new kid on the block who's kind of lingering
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: and maybe he's an AFC Championship win away from him
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: winning it. So I do think the playoff team result
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: is going to be a factor. But if you told
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: me that Josh Allen's getting ready to play in the
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: super Bowl and those other guys who had amazing seasons
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: are done and he's getting ready to play the Seahawk.
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: If he's getting ready to play the Seahawks, I'm probably
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: making the argument that Josh Allen's the MVP as well
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: because he got that roster, he got that team to
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: the super Bowl. It's probably more impressive than what he
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: did last year.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I understand what you're saying. It
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: would be hard to argue that. I'm just as we
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: start to and again, Josh Allen's definitely closing the gap.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: And I know stats are not everything. I do think
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: Josh Allen is he is one of the best players,
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: if not the best player in the NFL. But I'm
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: sitting here and I'm looking at how much kool aid
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: we're drinking with this MVP race, with Josh Allen making
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: all like closing the gap this much, and I'm sitting here,
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, we just can't Like Stafford has thrown
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: for thirty seven out of yards, he's the MVP right now. Yeah,
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: thirty seven touchdowns, five interceptions. Josh Allen's got twenty five
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: to ten. I know stats are not everything. I'm just man,
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: we cannot like I feel like sta is so close
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: all these years, and the fact that he's this far above,
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: not like that far above, like the gap is not
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: insanely wide, but where he's kind of sitting compared to
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: everybody else who's in the conversation, I'm like, I would
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: hate to just see Stafford get cuked when he's right there,
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: he could easily have the MVP trophy.
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: Ye win one playoff game, I think you will, and
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: I think he wins it. So again, it couldn't. That
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: could mean an NFC championship right because he could get
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: the bye. Thursday is going to be huge. He could
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: get the bye if he wins the divisional round. He's
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: in the conference championship. I think win or lose, he's
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: the m v P.
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: Not I'm not saying Stafford right now, if I had
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: a vote, he'd be my vote. I'm just saying we
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: all know how this works. An early exit by by
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: the Rams, even if Stafford plays well, an early exit
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: by the Rams, and a super Bowl run by the Bills, Yeah,
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: it's going to factor in right or wrong, right or wrong.
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: Rams Bills super Bowl would be that'd be sick, sick,
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: that would be awesome. All right, Greg, you're the man,
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: bro appreciate thank you very much, brother, great show.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: What a show man goes to Mahomes, Dude, Hard goes
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: out to Mahomes. It's like I'm sitting there, you know,
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: like I see Mahomes posts. I'm like, I just seeing
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: cheese fans coming, Like fuck, you wanted this, blah blah.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, like I'm here for the entertainment side.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: I enjoy it, like I you know, this back and
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: forth and the anti chiefs, I absolutely enjoyed to pour
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: salt on the womb. But something that's real like this,
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: like I never want anybody to get.
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: And I think that the logical human beings out there
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: understand that the people that have followed TOMP for a
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: long time. Yeah, I hate on the internet comes Yeah,
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: you know you see this Michigan stuff. I'm just catching
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: strays everywhere. I'm getting bullets everywhere. You're the problem to
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: whoa fucking what are we doing here? It's like, holy shit, man,
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: if you're.
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: Listening right now to the NFL Talk, make sure you're
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: subscribe leaving comments wherever you're watching the boys right now.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: College football, we were going to mix it into the
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: intro busting with the Boys of up tomorrow with Dion Dawkins,
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: left tackle of the Buffalo Bills, an absolutely stud phenomenal
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: energy throughout that episode. Yeah, we'll be covering our college
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: football talk tomorrow and there. Because not a lot happened
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: over the weekend in college football, well headlines with Michigan,
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: with coaching searches with Who's Heisman? Yeah, Michigan. But as
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: far as games go and everything else, we had Army
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: Navy barn Burner. We will get into that tomorrow with
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: our Bus with the Boys episode, so again, stay tuned
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: for that. We love you, big hugs, tiny kisses, See
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: you tomorrow
