- 0:00Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Jarren.
- 0:07Speaker 2: All right, well, Harry is the man who's been very
- 0:10Speaker 2: kind to step alongside the one like Up network justin
- 0:14Speaker 2: time Baseball justin Sherman. First of all, thank you for
- 0:16Speaker 2: supporting this network. It means a lot.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I love what you do.
- 0:21Speaker 3: I'm a big fan. And you have the zested. You
- 0:25Speaker 3: have a great zest and zeal. That's a great word
- 0:29Speaker 3: that's not used a lot, but you have the zest
- 0:32Speaker 3: and you have a great attitude. And you know, You're
- 0:36Speaker 3: just a fan of what we do. And I'm a
- 0:38Speaker 3: fan of what you do, so we are proud to
- 0:41Speaker 3: do it well.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Besides the athletes that you bring along, I mean Luke
- 0:43Speaker 2: Weaver On's Waldo Jazz, I look at the kids having fun.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I look at your staff that has so much fun
- 0:49Speaker 2: of working with you. That means you've got a great
- 0:51Speaker 2: environment going on when your staffers love working with you too,
- 0:54Speaker 2: with these kids.
- 0:56Speaker 3: So I really I just before this call, before this talk,
- 1:01Speaker 3: this beautiful talk, I did a professional development for our
- 1:05Speaker 3: staff for an onboarding right, so not one coach can
- 1:09Speaker 3: come into this company step on the field without being
- 1:12Speaker 3: trained right, not just about how to throw a ball,
- 1:16Speaker 3: but how to deliver their instruction, how to manage young kids,
- 1:19Speaker 3: how to keep them engaged, and when they're successful. Besides
- 1:23Speaker 3: the kids being successful and parents loving it, you know,
- 1:27Speaker 3: the coaches enjoy doing their job. So that's our goal.
- 1:30Speaker 3: It's got to be a three to sixty win. They
- 1:32Speaker 3: got to love the process.
- 1:34Speaker 4: And not only that.
- 1:35Speaker 2: These are guys and I'm sure, like you said, have
- 1:37Speaker 2: been in baseball forever. I know the game and want
- 1:39Speaker 2: to get back to the game a little bit now
- 1:41Speaker 2: through the camp.
- 1:42Speaker 3: So you know, it's crazy, Alex. Some of them, yes,
- 1:44Speaker 3: some of them are just love the game of baseball.
- 1:47Speaker 3: They barely played high school baseball. But they're exceptional youth coaches,
- 1:52Speaker 3: especially for ages what we're dealing with four to ten,
- 1:54Speaker 3: exceptional delivery of instruction. So we have a very wide
- 1:59Speaker 3: range at this company.
- 2:00Speaker 2: All right, have you said any I'm an asked you said,
- 2:02Speaker 2: have you seen any of these coaches go to the
- 2:04Speaker 2: next level, like coach a minor league or a high
- 2:07Speaker 2: school team, you know, thanks to that experience.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Yeah, we have high school coaches, we have college coaches,
- 2:13Speaker 3: we have former professional ballplayers. We have phiz ed teachers
- 2:17Speaker 3: of the year in their district.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So we have a very wide range, very wide range.
- 2:22Speaker 2: All right, here's the bunch. I'm trying to asking us.
- 2:24Speaker 2: When you're not having a high profile event, right, what's
- 2:26Speaker 2: the camp like on a daily basis? Because it seems
- 2:28Speaker 2: like these kids pick up where they left off. Maybe
- 2:30Speaker 2: they show up a little bit more, show off, a
- 2:32Speaker 2: little bit more for the athlete, But they're learning this
- 2:34Speaker 2: every day, not just when an Oswaldo comes in or
- 2:37Speaker 2: a loop comes in or a jazz comes in.
- 2:39Speaker 1: No.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Absolutely, this is what I say in our meetings. I say, listen,
- 2:43Speaker 3: we're running a strong justin time clinic. The player is
- 2:47Speaker 3: the guest at our clinic. If that makes sense, right,
- 2:50Speaker 3: that's the mindset we got to do it. We have
- 2:54Speaker 3: a wide range of programs. We have our summer camp,
- 2:56Speaker 3: which is awesome, it's been booming and six hours a
- 3:01Speaker 3: lot of baseball. We try to really making it as
- 3:04Speaker 3: engaging as possible. We have our aftercamp programs that we
- 3:08Speaker 3: partner with a Little League, So like tonight, we have
- 3:10Speaker 3: our Scarsdale Rookie program where we essentially it's four to
- 3:13Speaker 3: seven year olds where they'll bring us in as a
- 3:16Speaker 3: Bolton solution and we'll run a clinic for their for
- 3:20Speaker 3: their little league.
- 3:21Speaker 4: So you're becoming a consultant. Also here just.
- 3:24Speaker 3: One, we're with fifteen rec slash little leagues across New
- 3:29Speaker 3: York State.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Now for those parents, I might be worried, Oh my god,
- 3:32Speaker 2: my kid's going to be in the heat all day.
- 3:34Speaker 4: That's not true because you guys have the dome as well.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Right, we have the dome. We also at our summer
- 3:39Speaker 3: camps we bring tons of water. We have the run
- 3:42Speaker 3: in the fountain, do a little water balloon throwing. They
- 3:44Speaker 3: work on their throwing. They also get splashes of water.
- 3:48Speaker 1: It's fun.
- 3:49Speaker 3: You know.
- 3:50Speaker 2: What I noticed with these kids too is sometimes you know,
- 3:52Speaker 2: we're a young age. This kid might grow into something
- 3:54Speaker 2: of a ballplayer. I mean you can see it already.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Right Yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I also see their attitude right there to do That's
- 4:01Speaker 3: a big indicator. Like if they love it and grind,
- 4:05Speaker 3: those are the kids that make it further.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Right, I find a lot of these kids because they
- 4:10Speaker 2: did what what people don't understand that you guys, your
- 4:12Speaker 2: team plays, So I'm sure you could see these kids
- 4:14Speaker 2: become a leader in their own group. Hey, you know,
- 4:17Speaker 2: get with.
- 4:17Speaker 1: It now, you know one hundred percent, one hundred now.
- 4:22Speaker 2: What I have wondering since we've started, you know, talking
- 4:25Speaker 2: to each other and meet each other and all that
- 4:26Speaker 2: is how you ended up in the MLB world. Because
- 4:28Speaker 2: now you're partnering with Playball and all that. That's pretty awesome.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so, uh it was.
- 4:33Speaker 3: It was an awesome It's an awesome Uh honor, it's
- 4:36Speaker 3: an awesome honor. Essentially, two years ago I joined. I'm
- 4:41Speaker 3: a youth ambassador with Playball. That's Major League Baseball's youth initiative,
- 4:46Speaker 3: and uh yeah, it's all over like I'm going all
- 4:49Speaker 3: over the country and essentially the whole goal is to
- 4:52Speaker 3: get kids to love to play the game. I mean,
- 4:54Speaker 3: as simple as that sounds, that get them to love
- 4:56Speaker 3: the play, to grow the game, to cultivate that foundation,
- 5:01Speaker 3: and introduced the introduced the game as well.
- 5:04Speaker 2: You feel like you bring a New York got into
- 5:06Speaker 2: to it, like to a California to a Tampa. I
- 5:08Speaker 2: mean there's gotta be some kind of New York guys
- 5:09Speaker 2: who you bring to the program as well.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Funny you say that we have a bunch of different ambassadors,
- 5:14Speaker 3: I would say, who were all spectacular And it's an honor. Yeah,
- 5:19Speaker 3: I'd mean everyone has their own panach pro style for sure.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Justin how did you get involved in all of this?
- 5:24Speaker 2: I mean, I think I've asked you before if you played,
- 5:26Speaker 2: but how did you get involved.
- 5:27Speaker 1: In all of this? Started?
- 5:31Speaker 3: Right after college I found myself not you know, I
- 5:35Speaker 3: knew I was going to be was not going to
- 5:37Speaker 3: be a major leaguer after that point, or a college
- 5:40Speaker 3: or even you know, pro minor leagues.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I probably would have if I didn't get hurt.
- 5:43Speaker 3: I got a lot of injuries, concussions, and my head
- 5:47Speaker 3: was like a magnet to the wall.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I would always run into walls, catch and fly balls.
- 5:52Speaker 3: So I basically said, you know what, I got to
- 5:53Speaker 3: make money and I love working with young kids. I
- 5:56Speaker 3: started doing some lessons in the neighborhood eleven years ago
- 6:00Speaker 3: and during COVID with our private lesson base we started
- 6:06Speaker 3: doing classes. I created a daily class online word of
- 6:11Speaker 3: the day during COVID during March April June word of
- 6:14Speaker 3: every day, five days a week.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Word of the day. I would teach bowling.
- 6:20Speaker 3: With a rolled up pair of socks, baseball with a
- 6:24Speaker 3: whiffletball bat I got created. I brought in other instructors
- 6:27Speaker 3: across the country to teach almost like a phized baseball class,
- 6:32Speaker 3: and cohorts started to grow. Like parents wanted to go outside,
- 6:37Speaker 3: they were sick of zoom. One cohort pod became two
- 6:41Speaker 3: to three to thirty a week. They started hiring coaches
- 6:45Speaker 3: and it really just warphed, it morphed into what it
- 6:49Speaker 3: is now.
- 6:50Speaker 4: How many coaches would you say you have on staff
- 6:52Speaker 4: justin I get count? About fifteen or so? Or is
- 6:54Speaker 4: it more?
- 6:55Speaker 1: We have twenty seven coaches?
- 6:57Speaker 4: Amazing?
- 6:58Speaker 2: And are they all of these events or do they
- 7:00Speaker 2: all come at different shifts? How does that work for
- 7:02Speaker 2: the coaches?
- 7:03Speaker 3: So we have certain coaches that come for certain programs.
- 7:07Speaker 3: They have X y Z days reserves and we basically
- 7:11Speaker 3: go off of their availability, so like hey, I could
- 7:14Speaker 3: do this day x y Z day, So we book
- 7:17Speaker 3: accordingly to their schedule. Try to get everyone as busy
- 7:19Speaker 3: as possible.
- 7:20Speaker 2: All right, you're doing all these camps all that. How
- 7:22Speaker 2: do you keep up with the baseball and world? I mean,
- 7:24Speaker 2: are you still as big of a Major League baseball
- 7:26Speaker 2: fan as you were?
- 7:27Speaker 4: Yes, you know years ago, now that you're engulfed in it, basically.
- 7:31Speaker 1: One hundred percent.
- 7:32Speaker 3: I will tell you the statistics and the stats I
- 7:36Speaker 3: definitely fell off on.
- 7:38Speaker 1: You know, it's tough.
- 7:39Speaker 3: It's tougher now because usually when they're playing, I'm coaching
- 7:44Speaker 3: right I'm basically on their schedule in a way. But
- 7:47Speaker 3: I definitely check in and keep in touch. I definitely
- 7:50Speaker 3: keep in touch with Oswaldough personally and some of the
- 7:54Speaker 3: other players.
- 7:55Speaker 2: And you know, yeah, I saw you saw him recently,
- 7:58Speaker 2: So how's he doing. Give us an update for those
- 8:00Speaker 2: that are wondering how he's doing.
- 8:01Speaker 3: So he is as you can imagine. I know you
- 8:04Speaker 3: met him at our camp, which was awesome. I'm glad
- 8:06Speaker 3: you came. I'm glad that worked out.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Oh man, he's such a great person.
- 8:10Speaker 3: He's a great phom. He's just he's just phenomenal. He's
- 8:14Speaker 3: just phenomenal, and he's got such a great attitude. I mean, look,
- 8:16Speaker 3: there's a chance he can come back for the playoffs.
- 8:19Speaker 3: I think there's definitely a chance. Maybe he's coming off
- 8:22Speaker 3: the bench, but I think realistically he'll be back for
- 8:25Speaker 3: this frame.
- 8:26Speaker 1: But I hope I'm wrong. I hope he's back for October.
- 8:29Speaker 1: He'd be a big spark, oh man, he would.
- 8:31Speaker 2: He would be a spark they need right now.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Now, you know you had an all star in your camp.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I know you partner with Briar Clip, but the Jazz
- 8:38Speaker 2: event just look, he just got a great vibe about
- 8:40Speaker 2: him too.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, he's got it. He he uh, you know,
- 8:45Speaker 3: marches to his own drum. I'll leave it at that.
- 8:48Speaker 3: A lot of energy and it was a very cool experience,
- 8:52Speaker 3: very cool.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Now you heard the news today he's actually going back
- 8:54Speaker 2: to second base. So that's some big breaking news here
- 8:56Speaker 2: on the Long Network. He's going back to second apparently,
- 8:59Speaker 2: so there.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I got a feeling it might be adding a
- 9:02Speaker 3: third basement very soon.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Well soon, Abby's forres who knows. We'll see what happens there.
- 9:07Speaker 2: But justin I want to have about the supporters of
- 9:09Speaker 2: your camp because you're you are the man, but you
- 9:11Speaker 2: got so much behind you. The first guy that stands
- 9:13Speaker 2: out is Brandon Signer. I mean, here's a guy that
- 9:16Speaker 2: was and is a legend, you know, towards the end
- 9:19Speaker 2: of the stadium and all that. Then he reinvented himself
- 9:21Speaker 2: with collectible scenes. Now they're supporting you talk about that
- 9:24Speaker 2: supportive of Brandon and Collectible.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Brandon and I go way back. I played little
- 9:29Speaker 3: league with a son when I was eight nine ten whatever.
- 9:34Speaker 3: He was in Scarsdale, we were New Roschelle. We play
- 9:36Speaker 3: against each other and we just always we always kind
- 9:40Speaker 3: of sort of stayed like near each other. And then
- 9:44Speaker 3: I once went to a talk with him. It was awesome.
- 9:47Speaker 3: He I don't know if he remembers this, but he
- 9:49Speaker 3: was promoting his new book, You Gotta Have Balls. It
- 9:51Speaker 3: was fantastic. It's a fantastic book. Sure, I don't know
- 9:55Speaker 3: if you read it, but I.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Haven't read it. But now I got to look into this.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You you absolutely love it. You would love it.
- 10:02Speaker 2: And the stories he tells you man of all these
- 10:04Speaker 2: different legendary ad met I mean, oh my god.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the stories he has about like Phil Rizzuta,
- 10:10Speaker 3: it's phenomenal.
- 10:11Speaker 1: So he is the he is the sports marketing goat.
- 10:14Speaker 1: There's no doubt about it.
- 10:15Speaker 3: So we just cult we can. I continued to He
- 10:20Speaker 3: really became a real mentor for me. So you know,
- 10:23Speaker 3: I meet with him once a month at Steiner and
- 10:26Speaker 3: just no agenda, right, just straight up talking to him
- 10:29Speaker 3: about what I'm doing, what we're doing. And he really
- 10:33Speaker 3: helped me, uh, you know, inspire me to continue to
- 10:36Speaker 3: grow just in time, and still to this day, we
- 10:39Speaker 3: do a lot of business together.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know, I got a hand. And I
- 10:43Speaker 2: gotta think Jake Cosack for connecting us, because he's one
- 10:46Speaker 2: of the reasons why I'm like, oh my god, every
- 10:47Speaker 2: touch of Justin he looks like he's got some cool events,
- 10:49Speaker 2: and sure, here we are some things Jake Cosack as well.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Jake's Jake's Jake's our guy, no doubt about it.
- 10:55Speaker 2: You and me, absolutely, and then Franklin and the whole crew. Justin,
- 11:01Speaker 2: is there anything else in the works coming up? I mean,
- 11:03Speaker 2: isn't there any surprises you want to reveal today?
- 11:06Speaker 3: I don't know if I can reveal it today. I
- 11:08Speaker 3: might have to keep everyone in suspense. I'm working on
- 11:11Speaker 3: something big for September.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Oh wow.
- 11:14Speaker 3: If it does happen, it's going to be massive. That's
- 11:19Speaker 3: what I will leave it at. It will be something
- 11:21Speaker 3: different than we have never done.
- 11:24Speaker 1: And I'll leave it at that. You'll have to follow
- 11:27Speaker 1: us to see what happens.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Just in time Baseball, Now, you know, I got to
- 11:30Speaker 2: ask you this. When you see these kids in your camp,
- 11:33Speaker 2: do you see a reflection of you, Like, were you
- 11:35Speaker 2: that scrappy when you were a kid?
- 11:37Speaker 1: Do you see any of that one percent.
- 11:39Speaker 3: I was not the kid that was drafted big college ballplayer.
- 11:44Speaker 3: I played at Purchase College, nice school, solid school, beautiful school,
- 11:50Speaker 3: but as.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Far as a baseball you know, solid.
- 11:54Speaker 3: I got cut from my junior varsity baseball team in
- 11:56Speaker 3: high school. I barely made the varsity, right, I am
- 12:00Speaker 3: one hundred percent that player and I relate to them.
- 12:05Speaker 3: That's what I think is a big part of our
- 12:07Speaker 3: company's mission is to get that kid to reach their
- 12:11Speaker 3: own potential.
- 12:12Speaker 1: You know, That's how I was.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Now, I gotta give you a dugout kid, little Michael,
- 12:16Speaker 2: three years old. He gives you a lot of credit
- 12:17Speaker 2: for taking him into the just in time world as well.
- 12:20Speaker 1: He's adorable, he's a legend. I saw him have the
- 12:23Speaker 1: first pitch yesterday.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Awesome is that? God?
- 12:25Speaker 4: Hey, for a three year old, he's got some good
- 12:27Speaker 4: arm strength already.
- 12:28Speaker 3: So let me tell you, like, we typically wouldn't put
- 12:31Speaker 3: a three year old in our camp. It's probably a
- 12:33Speaker 3: little young for our camp summer camp. But uh, he
- 12:38Speaker 3: can handle it. If there's any kid that can handle it.
- 12:40Speaker 3: This kid plays like he's five or six. It's pretty crazy.
- 12:43Speaker 3: It's like he's like a little prodigy, all.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Right, are there any times where you have to say, Okay,
- 12:49Speaker 2: maybe this camp's not for you.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Do you notice that a lot? Or are these kids
- 12:52Speaker 4: always motivated?
- 12:55Speaker 3: I look at it as a as a good challenge
- 12:57Speaker 3: to try to get them to cultivate a to get
- 13:00Speaker 3: inspired to play. Uh, they're one percent of been situations
- 13:05Speaker 3: where we just make an adjustment, put them in another program,
- 13:10Speaker 3: say hey, wait another season, let's come back, et cetera.
- 13:13Speaker 3: But the beauty of our company is we are for
- 13:15Speaker 3: the younger kids, so it kind of works well.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Now you are consulting little leagues, but have you ever
- 13:21Speaker 2: thought of starting your own, you know, league with this clinic,
- 13:24Speaker 2: like the Dozin Time Baseball League.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Yes, very much so I thought. You know, we do
- 13:28Speaker 3: a winter league which I started from scratch. It's the
- 13:32Speaker 3: Winter Rookie program where little four or five six year
- 13:36Speaker 3: olds walk around in jerseys in a dome.
- 13:38Speaker 1: In the dome, it's a beautiful dome.
- 13:41Speaker 3: And uh, you know that's basically it's big.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Yeah. We we are definitely looking at other options too
- 13:48Speaker 1: to expand.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Now, because I don't know this, do you have a
- 13:52Speaker 4: kid of your own yet?
- 13:53Speaker 1: Are you no kid? Uh?
- 13:56Speaker 3: Maybe down the road, I definitely want kids God willing.
- 14:02Speaker 3: But now yet, by the way I look at all
- 14:05Speaker 3: these kids like my family, I really don't.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I love that and look at it. I mean you've
- 14:10Speaker 2: got and I know sometimes you got to be top
- 14:12Speaker 2: if they want a little more extra with the signings.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I've noticed that before. So you got to really be
- 14:16Speaker 2: a teacher as well as a as a as I
- 14:19Speaker 2: wouldn't say a dad, but I guess sort of in
- 14:21Speaker 2: that line too. Now, parents, you know that they often
- 14:28Speaker 2: are that they're interesting characters. So how how do you
- 14:31Speaker 2: be able to report with the parents as well to
- 14:33Speaker 2: make sure they're comfortable in the kid It's.
- 14:35Speaker 3: A great question the parents in youth coaching, right, the
- 14:41Speaker 3: biggest thing that you talk to other programs is the parents, right,
- 14:45Speaker 3: So the parents.
- 14:47Speaker 1: You don't want to.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Abolish the parents because as far as these we deal
- 14:50Speaker 3: with parent coaches all day. It's how do we work
- 14:53Speaker 3: in unison with the parent coaches to make sure that
- 14:57Speaker 3: our company as well as parent coaches of these little
- 15:01Speaker 3: leagues work in unison together, have the right synergy. Uh.
- 15:07Speaker 3: It's very important and it's not an easy answer. It's
- 15:10Speaker 3: it's a it's just I think honesty, honesty and understanding like,
- 15:15Speaker 3: if you're honest with a kid with a parent, I
- 15:18Speaker 3: think it's a big thing. I think a lot of
- 15:20Speaker 3: times we sugarcoat it, be honest and understand where they're
- 15:23Speaker 3: coming from, Like, see their point doesn't know.
- 15:25Speaker 2: What I noticed is though a lot of parents do
- 15:27Speaker 2: sort of just sit in the sideline and let you
- 15:29Speaker 2: do your thing, which is a good thing as well.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Definitely a good thing. But when we partner with these
- 15:35Speaker 3: little leagues, we need the parent coaches. And I say
- 15:38Speaker 3: this to every parent when I speak to a little league.
- 15:40Speaker 3: They are the underbelly of youth baseball.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, and they're also the reason why it keeps
- 15:48Speaker 2: going because the more kids are involved, the more the
- 15:50Speaker 2: sport's going to grow. You know that there's that.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Tip you hit it out of the park right there, And.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Of course, I mean I could go into the whole
- 15:58Speaker 2: umping shortage and all that, but I don't want to
- 16:00Speaker 2: get too negative here.
- 16:01Speaker 4: But you know, there's just there's a lot of facets
- 16:03Speaker 4: to all of us.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I feel like when it comes.
- 16:04Speaker 1: To youth of sports, Uh, it's a problem.
- 16:07Speaker 3: It's problem, and I think it's up to us as
- 16:09Speaker 3: youth coaches to maintain a high standard and if we
- 16:14Speaker 3: can get again. I always say our metric is not
- 16:18Speaker 3: money and revenue. Our metric is kids signing up, kids
- 16:23Speaker 3: joining Little League again. Right, our biggest flex is we
- 16:26Speaker 3: have a Little League in bed for We started with
- 16:28Speaker 3: them three years ago. Four years ago they had fifty
- 16:31Speaker 3: kids in their te baw program. They now have one
- 16:33Speaker 3: hundred and ten kids.
- 16:35Speaker 4: So your growing programs, look at this, look.
- 16:37Speaker 3: At what my point, my point being is, that's the metric.
- 16:39Speaker 3: That's the metric right there. That's clearly something's working in
- 16:43Speaker 3: the formula.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Hopefully absolutely. You know, I'm just saying a Ricken Wolf.
- 16:47Speaker 2: He was the son of Bob Wolf. And also he
- 16:49Speaker 2: did a lot of youth sports coverage on WFA, and
- 16:52Speaker 2: we don't have that much anymore when talking about youth sports.
- 16:54Speaker 2: We got to bring that back justin Hey, maybe we
- 16:57Speaker 2: partner on the fan on that they connections. Maybe we'll
- 17:01Speaker 2: see what happens because it's a vital thing. And I
- 17:04Speaker 2: look at other sports too, because football, they don't want
- 17:06Speaker 2: to put their kids in the sport. We need these
- 17:07Speaker 2: kids to keep being active. Now, you do baseball, but
- 17:10Speaker 2: I'm sure you encourage multi sports. That's the thing about
- 17:12Speaker 2: you sports that driving to be crazy. Specialists are not
- 17:15Speaker 2: the angel. They got to learn all the sports.
- 17:19Speaker 3: By the way we promote playing other sports, you know,
- 17:24Speaker 3: Like one of our terms that we use in Just
- 17:26Speaker 3: in Time is UAP. I'm sure you've heard it universal
- 17:31Speaker 3: athletic position. That position applies to all sports, right we
- 17:35Speaker 3: always go back to basketball, football, Maybe a well rounded
- 17:39Speaker 3: athlete very important, you know.
- 17:41Speaker 2: And Aaron Judge not for an of them, played a
- 17:43Speaker 2: bunch of sports growing up, and that's kind of how
- 17:44Speaker 2: he's become the athlete he is today.
- 17:46Speaker 1: So he's a unicorn. He's a unicorn.
- 17:49Speaker 2: It doesn't I don't want to go here, but it's
- 17:51Speaker 2: very public that your dad passed, and I'm very sorry
- 17:54Speaker 2: for your loss on that.
- 17:55Speaker 4: But he was your first coach. Why don't you get
- 17:57Speaker 4: because I conserned my dad my.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Very first coach, you know, Yeah, no doubt about it.
- 18:01Speaker 3: He was an amazing father. He's with me forever. He
- 18:06Speaker 3: one was my first coach, and not necessarily for the
- 18:10Speaker 3: extras and o's, but the big picture in tangibles, hustle,
- 18:14Speaker 3: hard work, have a great attitude. From the very second
- 18:17Speaker 3: only he would constantly say to me, hustle on and
- 18:20Speaker 3: off the field. Right, not only not necessarily even the
- 18:25Speaker 3: x's and o's of the skill, but the intangibles.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Character of it exactly. So on that note, when do
- 18:31Speaker 2: you know like you've done a great job at the camp,
- 18:34Speaker 2: because I feel like this camp's probably a different vibe
- 18:36Speaker 2: every day or different killer.
- 18:37Speaker 4: When you know, Okay, I did my job today.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Kid's got a smile on his face. I asked them.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I asked the kids all the time, and I tell
- 18:47Speaker 3: our coaches to do it. Who had a great time today,
- 18:49Speaker 3: who learned something today, raise their hand, raise their hand.
- 18:52Speaker 1: We did our job.
- 18:54Speaker 4: That's awesome. And it's so cool that you've gotten all
- 18:57Speaker 4: this growth.
- 18:58Speaker 2: I mean we just managed to learn August and all
- 18:59Speaker 2: of a sudden you're around the world with MLB Playball.
- 19:02Speaker 4: I mean your growth is growing faster.
- 19:04Speaker 3: You know, I noticed this Well can't do without great coaches,
- 19:08Speaker 3: great people, great support.
- 19:10Speaker 1: And there's a lot more to go.
- 19:12Speaker 3: And it's all it's all about the kids, and you know,
- 19:14Speaker 3: making people love the game and continue to play.
- 19:19Speaker 2: By the way, You've been hit on the word company
- 19:20Speaker 2: and people may think, oh, this is a fun thing
- 19:22Speaker 2: for kids. It's like a fun but you're running a company.
- 19:25Speaker 2: How do you differentiate the fund from the business, if
- 19:28Speaker 2: you will.
- 19:29Speaker 1: It's a great question.
- 19:30Speaker 3: People think it's just oh, you roll out some balls,
- 19:33Speaker 3: you send some coaches. No, it's like we have a
- 19:35Speaker 3: whole operation team. We have two operation people that are
- 19:39Speaker 3: phenomenal behind the scenes. Do it scheduling, help them with payroll,
- 19:43Speaker 3: help them with the HR with contracts. I mean, we're
- 19:47Speaker 3: we're we have over three thousand kids in our program
- 19:50Speaker 3: and fifteen little leagues.
- 19:51Speaker 1: It's constant, constant things to do.
- 19:55Speaker 2: And do they all have to sign waivers before they start?
- 19:57Speaker 2: How does the whole legal process go with all of that.
- 19:59Speaker 3: So they join and we have a waiver on our
- 20:02Speaker 3: website that they accept the liability, and obviously it's on
- 20:08Speaker 3: us to put them in the best position to succeed,
- 20:11Speaker 3: for sure.
- 20:13Speaker 4: But yeah, this is a he gotta be very buttoned up,
- 20:15Speaker 4: I'm sure, And it sounds like you are.
- 20:17Speaker 1: You're that kind of guy.
- 20:18Speaker 2: And what I also love is you're very selective against
- 20:20Speaker 2: you who covers the camp, who's there?
- 20:22Speaker 4: So I love that about you too.
- 20:24Speaker 3: You're very select your VIP your VIP listen a lot
- 20:27Speaker 3: of people that ask there's a lot of people that
- 20:29Speaker 3: asked to do the program to come to the program,
- 20:33Speaker 3: and I turned most mostly everyone down. I hate I wish,
- 20:37Speaker 3: I wish we could have a hundred people covering it.
- 20:39Speaker 1: But it's tough. It's tough. But you're definitely VIP.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Well, I think you understand that this is like a
- 20:45Speaker 2: continuation of what mister Simon laid the groundwork for, which
- 20:48Speaker 2: is to continue to be around the Yankees involved. So
- 20:50Speaker 2: thank you for.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Continuing that what he built two that twenty five years ago.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I should say, well, he was the boss. I mean
- 20:59Speaker 3: that's pretty high. I don't know, I don't know if
- 21:01Speaker 3: I'm on that level, not even close.
- 21:03Speaker 2: But well, there have been people that opened doors along
- 21:06Speaker 2: the way, and you're definitely one of them that's been
- 21:08Speaker 2: there to open a door. So I appreciate that.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Listen, I see good people, see good people, and you
- 21:15Speaker 3: know what, people have been doors for me. So that's
- 21:17Speaker 3: how that's how the world works.
- 21:19Speaker 2: And why I mentioned the company parties because you do
- 21:21Speaker 2: have sponsors alongside and collect but like Bold and Pilates
- 21:24Speaker 2: and all. And I don't know about our friends. I mean,
- 21:27Speaker 2: you have so many connections. It just works, doesn't it.
- 21:31Speaker 3: You know, I'm gonna quote Brandon Seiner okay, which, by
- 21:36Speaker 3: the way, I'd love to get him on your podcast
- 21:38Speaker 3: if you ever want to do.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I would love to have him back on. It was on.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Actually I met him at the Thurman Months and Dinner
- 21:42Speaker 2: five years ago.
- 21:43Speaker 1: We did a podcast.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Yeah, we did a whole.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Hour's worth the podcast.
- 21:48Speaker 1: He's probably he's an awesome podcast. He's great. I think
- 21:52Speaker 1: it was great.
- 21:53Speaker 4: You could just let him talk. You just ask one question,
- 21:55Speaker 4: he just goes and it's good.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I love that.
- 21:58Speaker 3: His quote was give, I'm going to screw this up,
- 22:01Speaker 3: but give as much as you can, as often as
- 22:05Speaker 3: you can, to as many people as you can, without
- 22:07Speaker 3: expecting anything in return.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Now, are there any days where it can get too
- 22:11Speaker 2: hot or do you always resort to the dome when.
- 22:13Speaker 4: It gets that situation in.
- 22:14Speaker 3: The We really only use the dome for the winter.
- 22:17Speaker 3: That's typically we're really outside. Like today, we got four
- 22:21Speaker 3: camps going on. We're all outside. I'm bouncing around, love it.
- 22:26Speaker 3: You know, we got stuff tonight. We're really outside. We
- 22:29Speaker 3: use a batting couple of batting cages.
- 22:30Speaker 1: As well that you haven't seen yet. We do that too.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Do you find other leagues and other coaches or do
- 22:38Speaker 2: camps for like, you know, football world are coming to
- 22:40Speaker 2: you for structure and for like advice.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Uh sort of.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Yes, I've talking to other people and other industries, and
- 22:49Speaker 3: you know, I picked. I'm always trying to learn. I
- 22:52Speaker 3: learned from trying to learn from everybody. And yes, the
- 22:56Speaker 3: answer is yes. I actually eventually I'm saying it on
- 22:59Speaker 3: this podcast. Yes, but for the fall, I'm going to
- 23:02Speaker 3: actually start my own kind of I think it's a niche,
- 23:05Speaker 3: a youth coaching consulting for other coaches.
- 23:09Speaker 4: I love that.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Speaking of niche, how about disabled athletes? I feel like
- 23:12Speaker 2: we got to encourage that more so. Does this does
- 23:14Speaker 2: some time welcome those disabilities as well?
- 23:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm glad you said that one hundred percent. We
- 23:19Speaker 3: actually have a partnership with the Miracle League. Oh awesome,
- 23:23Speaker 3: so we do some stuff with them. But also yes,
- 23:27Speaker 3: I'd love to start a division and maybe we could
- 23:30Speaker 3: talk off air about it of something where it's like
- 23:36Speaker 3: a program once or twice a week for kids that
- 23:39Speaker 3: have learning differences for sure.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Now, would you be opposed to wheelchair softball because I
- 23:44Speaker 2: have a connection there. Who does butlcher softball in Eisenower
- 23:47Speaker 2: Park right over here in NASA County and he does
- 23:49Speaker 2: it almost every week. So I got to connect you guys.
- 23:52Speaker 1: I'm open to everything.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Because I mean somebo is a little different, but it's
- 23:56Speaker 2: it's a fun game. Nonetheless, you got it.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Hey, we're in softball. We're in softball. We do you know,
- 24:01Speaker 3: it's actually growing, We're adding more softball programs.
- 24:04Speaker 1: So I am to talk and.
- 24:07Speaker 4: Maybe good to know this.
- 24:08Speaker 2: You are connected outside of baseball, and I think that's
- 24:10Speaker 2: important now because you've got connections beyond just.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Baseball, right, we both do.
- 24:15Speaker 3: But you know, we're always trying to connect help as
- 24:17Speaker 3: many people. Just do the best you can and be nice,
- 24:21Speaker 3: be nice, right like you are.
- 24:24Speaker 4: All right.
- 24:24Speaker 2: If you were coaching on the staff of the Yankees
- 24:27Speaker 2: right now, what would your message be, because I feel
- 24:29Speaker 2: like they need somebody to step in there and say, hey,
- 24:31Speaker 2: let's write the ship right now.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Well, I would say offensively, I mean, you know a
- 24:38Speaker 3: lot more than I do.
- 24:40Speaker 1: I would say offensively, they're doing a nice job now.
- 24:42Speaker 4: I mean they're putting up six to nine runs a
- 24:44Speaker 4: game that should win a ball game.
- 24:46Speaker 3: So yeah, so I would say the pitching might be
- 24:48Speaker 3: a little off, and probably the defense is a little off.
- 24:51Speaker 3: So I think, you know, I would personally, if I
- 24:54Speaker 3: was coaching, I would get back to the absolute fundamentals.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Can't go wrong with that. You can't go wrong with that.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Get loosen up and get back to the fund events as.
- 25:04Speaker 2: The fundies of the game. You know, you got to
- 25:06Speaker 2: have the fundies, as they.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Say, beautiful voice, Keithan and ah, what a legend.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Hey, you know you mentioned pitching, and I'm thinking about
- 25:15Speaker 2: this kid that threw a bullpen in front of Luke Weaver.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Did he go to your room and say, man, that
- 25:19Speaker 2: was so cool to throw a bullet because that just
- 25:21Speaker 2: looked cool to throw a bullpen in front of Luke Weaver.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I actually know exactly what kid you're talking about.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:27Speaker 1: I think that the mother was beaming. The mother was beaming.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I know that the kid probably just couldn't even process it,
- 25:33Speaker 1: which I wouldn't be able to process either.
- 25:34Speaker 3: I don't think anyone would, you know, like, oh my god,
- 25:37Speaker 3: it's Luke Weaver closer.
- 25:40Speaker 2: And for you know, it's interesting with these kids. They're
- 25:42Speaker 2: they're very young, but they seem very intensive. When you
- 25:44Speaker 2: bring these athletes around like they listened.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Intently, it's smart. And also I go around at all
- 25:51Speaker 3: these player clinics. I don't know if you know, I
- 25:54Speaker 3: know you're we're all bouncing around, but you know, I
- 25:57Speaker 3: go station to station with them from before he even
- 26:00Speaker 3: walks in the doors, or as Walda walks in the door, say, listen,
- 26:03Speaker 3: ask think of really good questions, Like you might not
- 26:07Speaker 3: ever get an opportunity to be in front of a
- 26:10Speaker 3: major leaguer. So instead of like, hey, what's your favorite color?
- 26:14Speaker 3: How about which is cute and great? And I'm not
- 26:17Speaker 3: saying don't ask it, but like, hey, what are you thinking?
- 26:20Speaker 3: As like I heard a great question from a nine
- 26:23Speaker 3: year old he goes, hey where what where do you
- 26:27Speaker 3: aim in the shrike zone when you're pitching?
- 26:30Speaker 1: What do you aim high? Aim low? Like that's a
- 26:32Speaker 1: high level question from a night person.
- 26:35Speaker 3: So like it's important to kind of coach the kids
- 26:38Speaker 3: how to ask questions too.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Absolutely And you could just tell, I mean, I could
- 26:42Speaker 2: just tell their kids that are willing to really grow
- 26:44Speaker 2: in this game. You could just see that. And can
- 26:47Speaker 2: you tell when it comes to pitching verse hitting, what
- 26:50Speaker 2: their strength is going to be down the road? I
- 26:52Speaker 2: mean when you watch these kids at bat or pitching,
- 26:54Speaker 2: I mean, is there is there a big difference.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Do I see it?
- 26:58Speaker 3: I mean you could see if the kid's got a cannon.
- 27:01Speaker 3: You know, you can see the kids got a cannon.
- 27:05Speaker 3: It's pretty it's pretty good. And honestly, the in tangibles
- 27:09Speaker 3: like is the kid coachable, because obviously some kids are
- 27:13Speaker 3: just blessed. A lot of kids are just blessed with
- 27:15Speaker 3: the arm.
- 27:16Speaker 1: But if you're coachable, there's ways to get more out
- 27:19Speaker 1: of your arm. You know.
- 27:21Speaker 3: I look at Josiah Gray, by the way, I used
- 27:23Speaker 3: to coach Josiah Gray. Sure, I mean I've coached him.
- 27:26Speaker 3: I stayed coached him one summer. I mean, if you
- 27:29Speaker 3: were to tell me he would be a major leader tomorrow,
- 27:31Speaker 3: I would have said, no, right on his skill. All
- 27:35Speaker 3: of a sudden, he worked his tail off, froing eighty
- 27:39Speaker 3: to now ninety eight with bite and being an All
- 27:42Speaker 3: Star in the Major League. So you know, he worked
- 27:45Speaker 3: his tail off. So you never know, you never you
- 27:49Speaker 3: sometimes you just never know, all right.
- 27:51Speaker 2: My dad, to make a metaphor of the whole picture
- 27:54Speaker 2: of life, love to tell me whenever I felt I
- 27:57Speaker 2: was slacking or whatever. You know, Ted Williams just standing
- 27:59Speaker 2: there on the bad and cage and hit him to
- 28:01Speaker 2: its fingers. But do you ever tell that story to
- 28:03Speaker 2: the kids?
- 28:04Speaker 3: I talk ironically about Ted Williams The Science of Hitting?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Did you ever read that book?
- 28:10Speaker 2: No? But I know he wrote that.
- 28:11Speaker 3: I mean, it's exceptional. It's exceptional. It's literally his brain
- 28:16Speaker 3: in a book of hitting. It's it's spectacular. It's absolutely spectacular.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Now that's too summer reading list. We got to do
- 28:22Speaker 2: this this summer if you want to be foop on
- 28:24Speaker 2: the baseball knowledge. So there you go.
- 28:26Speaker 1: It's a it's exceptional.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Do you learn from Britain about the business sid as well?
- 28:31Speaker 2: Does he advise you on the business side, because he's
- 28:32Speaker 2: a very big business guy.
- 28:34Speaker 1: All the time.
- 28:35Speaker 3: I'd say once a week to shoot me a text,
- 28:37Speaker 3: Hey do this? Hey think of this? Which I'm forever
- 28:41Speaker 3: grateful for our relationship.
- 28:44Speaker 4: Yes, I love how.
- 28:47Speaker 2: This world just works and we're all interconnected. And you know,
- 28:49Speaker 2: I don't you know rainde grown?
- 28:51Speaker 1: I got him.
- 28:51Speaker 2: We have you to him.
- 28:53Speaker 1: If you don't know him, Yeah I do, I do.
- 28:54Speaker 1: We actually had dinner.
- 28:56Speaker 3: We had a dinner about I went to the Have
- 28:59Speaker 3: you ever been to the New York State Baseball all
- 29:00Speaker 3: the game?
- 29:01Speaker 2: I've not been up to Detroy yet. But that's a
- 29:03Speaker 2: goal of mine because I know you were part of
- 29:05Speaker 2: the idea. Was the Italian American Baseball Is that?
- 29:09Speaker 3: Yes? You did that.
- 29:11Speaker 2: No, I've not been to that either because I the
- 29:13Speaker 2: invites look through the mail. But I gotta get to
- 29:15Speaker 2: one of those events.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it's uh, I'll see what I could do,
- 29:19Speaker 3: See what I could do.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Joe's just seems awesome.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Joeman pros like he seems like the go to guy too.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Grenda Lakrem, Grenda Lakrem and and that was a spectacular event.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I'll see what I could do behind the scenes here.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Would you ever consider going to Troy?
- 29:35Speaker 2: Oh, I would go. And because I've been to coopercent,
- 29:38Speaker 2: I would go to Troy also. I would check that out.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's spectacular. I think Posada is getting inducted this year.
- 29:44Speaker 2: I think we I've had Dom skull on who just
- 29:47Speaker 2: recently wasn't Duck a couple of years ago. So all
- 29:49Speaker 2: these guys and being in the baseballorld is just gravitate
- 29:52Speaker 2: toward each other, you.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Know, growing up.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Any favorite story you could tell us about your playing
- 30:01Speaker 2: days that you sort of remember so much so that
- 30:04Speaker 2: you bring it to your clinic when you when you coach.
- 30:06Speaker 1: I always saw it.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Like I said earlier, the fact that I got cut
- 30:10Speaker 3: from the junior varsity baseball team was a big turning
- 30:13Speaker 3: point in my life because I could have very easily quit.
- 30:18Speaker 3: This is a true story, but I decided to continue
- 30:21Speaker 3: to play. I went up to the height, I went
- 30:24Speaker 3: up to the coach in the parking lot. He thought
- 30:25Speaker 3: I was going to punch him in the face because
- 30:28Speaker 3: I he cut me, and I said, you probably. I said, coach,
- 30:33Speaker 3: what can I do to get better? Which most kids
- 30:36Speaker 3: probably don't do now, which they should. And he told
- 30:40Speaker 3: me very generic advice like got to hit better, gotta
- 30:43Speaker 3: be more consistent fielding. And I did it every morning
- 30:47Speaker 3: before camp in the morning. If I worked at a
- 30:49Speaker 3: camp at six am, I'd hit in the cage I had.
- 30:53Speaker 3: I probably had one of my best years ever in
- 30:55Speaker 3: the fall and made the varsity and then play college baseball.
- 30:58Speaker 1: And now fast forward to today.
- 31:01Speaker 2: On that note of how kids need to be more
- 31:03Speaker 2: active in all that, I do feel like it's everything
- 31:05Speaker 2: on the phone though, so hey, I know you don't
- 31:07Speaker 2: allow phones at the field, But mainly, what's your message
- 31:11Speaker 2: to parents who seem to not be able to get
- 31:12Speaker 2: their kid off the phone in tents like get them
- 31:14Speaker 2: active more.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Right, Absolutely, it's not easy. It's not easy.
- 31:19Speaker 3: But I think by creating an amazing experience, it makes
- 31:22Speaker 3: them not want to even be on the phone.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Can we isn't a scare? Is it not fear mongering?
- 31:27Speaker 2: But is it sort of you're monering that that sports
- 31:30Speaker 2: is not you know, one hundred percent there or people
- 31:33Speaker 2: just making that up Like Okay, people are not playing
- 31:36Speaker 2: sports anymore.
- 31:37Speaker 1: That's a lie.
- 31:37Speaker 2: I feel like people are, they're just not finding out
- 31:40Speaker 2: the resources.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, I would say. Also, there's a lot of options. Now,
- 31:45Speaker 3: there's a lot of options. So it's a cold it's
- 31:50Speaker 3: a culmination of things. I think there's a lot of options.
- 31:53Speaker 3: I do think technology is huge part of that. But ultimately,
- 31:59Speaker 3: you know, I look at I try to look at.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Myself like P. T.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Barnum, our Walt Disney, like we're in the experienced business.
- 32:05Speaker 3: It's not just baseball. And that doesn't mean Savannah Bananas,
- 32:09Speaker 3: which they do a great job, and I know they're
- 32:11Speaker 3: the talk of bait, you know some of the talk, right,
- 32:15Speaker 3: but ultimately, uh, how can we make that experience the best.
- 32:21Speaker 1: For their for their child.
- 32:23Speaker 2: That's about affordability because obviously equipment is not easy to get.
- 32:26Speaker 4: Do you guys provide the equipment or how does that
- 32:28Speaker 4: whole thing work?
- 32:31Speaker 3: So we do have parents that we do tell them
- 32:34Speaker 3: to bring equipment, their own equipment. We do have extra equipment,
- 32:39Speaker 3: no doubt about it. And also something we started recently
- 32:43Speaker 3: is we have a year long sponsorship with a couple
- 32:46Speaker 3: of different companies, and actually from those funds, I'm able
- 32:52Speaker 3: to provide some scholarships, a lot of scholarships the kids.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Kids from the Boys and Girls Club, they're all at
- 32:58Speaker 3: our Yankee clinics, if you know that. And also that
- 33:02Speaker 3: includes some equipment that we throw in as well.
- 33:05Speaker 2: That's just so awesome, And I love the entrepreneurial mindset.
- 33:08Speaker 2: I feel like people have got more of that in
- 33:10Speaker 2: today's world. It's always fast, but you can adapt if
- 33:13Speaker 2: you have that mindset.
- 33:15Speaker 3: No doubt, you gotta be, you gotta be. The question
- 33:18Speaker 3: I go back to Steiner, what else? What else can
- 33:21Speaker 3: we provide? What else can we do better?
- 33:23Speaker 1: Right? What else?
- 33:25Speaker 3: Well?
- 33:26Speaker 2: You inspired me to create the one leg Up sponsor
- 33:28Speaker 2: portal where we get everybody listening to one site. That way,
- 33:31Speaker 2: it's not scrambled. So thank you for bringing organization to.
- 33:33Speaker 4: My life as well.
- 33:34Speaker 2: So no doubt, you know, one of last things I
- 33:37Speaker 2: believe even direct with the commissioner Manfred or not yet.
- 33:41Speaker 1: I did.
- 33:41Speaker 3: I did have I went to a dinners that it
- 33:43Speaker 3: was the Italian Americans called dinner and uh yeah we did.
- 33:48Speaker 1: We did meet him. I did meet he seems like
- 33:50Speaker 1: a great guy.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Why does he get criticized so much.
- 33:53Speaker 3: It's the nature of the beast, you know, it's such
- 33:57Speaker 3: a big responsibility. He was a very very nice gentleman.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Gentleman and he spoke very well, well.
- 34:03Speaker 2: We can't let you go without the big day that
- 34:05Speaker 2: happened in June, justin Sherman Day.
- 34:08Speaker 4: What was that like?
- 34:10Speaker 1: Pretty cool? Didn't expect it.
- 34:13Speaker 3: I basically got an honor from the Newer Shell Boys
- 34:16Speaker 3: and Girls Club. It was a youth service award, which
- 34:18Speaker 3: I'm very humbled about, very honored, and they basically said,
- 34:23Speaker 3: on June eighth is justin Sherman Day.
- 34:26Speaker 1: So I guess I had a day. So it's pretty cool.
- 34:31Speaker 1: So yeah, it was. It was awesome. It was awesome.
- 34:33Speaker 1: It was cool. Feather in the cat.
- 34:35Speaker 2: And you have such a great social media experience. Is
- 34:37Speaker 2: that helping you grow Justin Time baseball.
- 34:38Speaker 3: That you're always there on that social no doubt, and
- 34:42Speaker 3: you got to just keep it consistent and also educate
- 34:45Speaker 3: parents and kids. Yes, give, give, give, yeah, no, And
- 34:51Speaker 3: I think when they see all those tutorials there that
- 34:53Speaker 3: you get more people in and say, oh, I want
- 34:55Speaker 3: to be part of this too.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Now, so more to go. We got a lot more
- 34:59Speaker 1: to go.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Justin, I know you got to run ten different camps
- 35:02Speaker 2: today and I appreciate you taking time today and enjoy
- 35:06Speaker 2: the rest of the season. We'll give us a camp
- 35:08Speaker 2: recap at the end of the summer and tell us
- 35:10Speaker 2: how things went.
- 35:12Speaker 3: No doubt, We're going to do this again and keep
- 35:13Speaker 3: up the great work. You got a great attitude. You're
- 35:16Speaker 3: a great guy, and I'm here to.
