- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, here we go Boutlet Cat Podcast. We got
- 0:02Speaker 1: a special guest in here. My guy Forah is in
- 0:04Speaker 1: the building. Man, thank you for having me. New album,
- 0:07Speaker 1: Butterfly Effect YEP is out right now. Yes, sir, why
- 0:12Speaker 1: that name because obviously we know the movie, Yeah, some
- 0:17Speaker 1: of us might know the movie dark movie movie. Yeah.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I just feel like kind of in the dust shill,
- 0:23Speaker 1: like everything happens for a reason, and a lot of
- 0:25Speaker 1: things happened in my life where I felt like I
- 0:28Speaker 1: wanted this, I wanted that, and I didn't get those things.
- 0:32Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, I kind of accepted,
- 0:34Speaker 1: like kind of like accepting fate, manifest destiny kind of thing,
- 0:37Speaker 1: and you know, everything kind of just works the way
- 0:41Speaker 1: it's supposed to. And I don't feel like I'll be
- 0:42Speaker 1: here right now if all those good and bad things
- 0:45Speaker 1: didn't happen. When you say you wanted certain things, are
- 0:48Speaker 1: you talking about like industry type success, industry life, you know, success,
- 0:55Speaker 1: whether it's success, love, family, things, financial, whatever it is.
- 1:00Speaker 1: You know we all want those things, but sometimes we
- 1:03Speaker 1: don't get them. Well, listen, man, I got to give
- 1:04Speaker 1: your flowers because I know you like have kind of
- 1:06Speaker 1: been through the ringer in the music industry. You've obviously
- 1:08Speaker 1: been on major labels, You've had a career that's spanned
- 1:11Speaker 1: over that decade now. But like, dude, you fucking are lit. Bro.
- 1:18Speaker 1: It's fun. I'm having fun with it, man, It's it's
- 1:20Speaker 1: a fun job. I don't know if you still have
- 1:22Speaker 1: your store on Fairfax do you nah? Just okay? But
- 1:24Speaker 1: you had okay, you had that store for a very
- 1:26Speaker 1: long time. On facts right, it was fun. Most of
- 1:29Speaker 1: these rappers couldn't sell a fucking concert tationic let alone
- 1:31Speaker 1: have a successful clothing line that has a brick and
- 1:34Speaker 1: mortar store on one of the most expensive streets in
- 1:36Speaker 1: fucking America. Yeah, it's stressful, man, it's it's a stressful
- 1:39Speaker 1: thing to maintain big deal while maintaining a you know,
- 1:43Speaker 1: music career, a brand career, a business, you know what
- 1:46Speaker 1: I mean, all those type of things. It's stressful. But
- 1:49Speaker 1: you know, I just have fun with it and I
- 1:50Speaker 1: just kind of you know, literally the album you put out,
- 1:53Speaker 1: was it in twenty twenty, your last album? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:55Speaker 1: I would love to you did some crazy numbers man, Yeah,
- 1:59Speaker 1: fun that phone with it, Independent, Independent, Klin and Jane
- 2:03Speaker 1: and shout Out to the Hemmies. Hey, all the fucking
- 2:07Speaker 1: I hate I understand that. Like it's easy to like
- 2:11Speaker 1: compare yourself to other people with your peers or people
- 2:14Speaker 1: who you feel like, oh man, I see them on
- 2:17Speaker 1: you know, performing at award shows. That should fuck all that, bro,
- 2:19Speaker 1: Like you've done a lot of and those are the
- 2:21Speaker 1: things I'm talking about, Like I want those, you know,
- 2:24Speaker 1: award shows. I want to be at the Grammys here
- 2:26Speaker 1: and be it you know this and that. But at
- 2:29Speaker 1: the same time, like I'm kind of just accepting of
- 2:32Speaker 1: and grateful mostly of what I have and what's been
- 2:34Speaker 1: given to me and what I worked for. But you know,
- 2:37Speaker 1: I feel like not everybody has a fair chance, and
- 2:40Speaker 1: some people have advantages. But at the end of the day,
- 2:42Speaker 1: you just kind of find you have to find what's
- 2:45Speaker 1: you know, what you're grateful for. When you're a hardcore
- 2:48Speaker 1: fan base and a lot of people would die for
- 2:50Speaker 1: that shit, dog, yeah, Like sometimes you got to like
- 2:52Speaker 1: and I'm grateful for it for real, because I wouldn't
- 2:55Speaker 1: be I wouldn't be here still ten years plus after.
- 2:58Speaker 1: You know, you got some like talk weird fans too, Yeah, crazy,
- 3:01Speaker 1: I feel like those are the best ones, most of
- 3:03Speaker 1: the women who I've come in contact with who are
- 3:06Speaker 1: Big Four fans are psychos. Yeah, been through. The thing
- 3:09Speaker 1: is they've been through a lot of they're like crazy bitches.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Yeah sure, Yeah, I've been through it, been through a
- 3:13Speaker 1: lot of ships, been through my personal experience, like you
- 3:15Speaker 1: have love for you, like you had a personal experience,
- 3:20Speaker 1: you had a you had a she set some clothes
- 3:23Speaker 1: on fire, or she's you know, busted some windows. Right, Yeah,
- 3:29Speaker 1: I feel like we all kind of been through that
- 3:31Speaker 1: for sure. For sure, you might have an extra crazy
- 3:35Speaker 1: one though. I just I'm not even women I've necessarily
- 3:38Speaker 1: had any sort of personal relationship, but just that I know,
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'm just like, oh yeah, yeah, you got like my
- 3:44Speaker 1: wife's sister, who's a flaming cunt. She loves you, but
- 3:50Speaker 1: she sucks, she's but she fucking loves you. But you know,
- 3:53Speaker 1: they might these people, these people like they might need
- 3:56Speaker 1: something or someone. Some of these some of these people
- 3:59Speaker 1: have not found the one yet, you know what I'm saying,
- 4:01Speaker 1: Like somebody, but they need someone to really be their
- 4:05Speaker 1: form and change their life. I've seen it happen too.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I've seen someone's life and personality be changed in one day.
- 4:11Speaker 1: That's a beautiful thing. Man. How have you been dealing
- 4:15Speaker 1: with because you know, I feel like you do live
- 4:18Speaker 1: your life outward online sometimes, right. You know, I feel
- 4:23Speaker 1: like we've kind of seen you go through like public,
- 4:26Speaker 1: you know, issues when it comes to maybe depression or
- 4:29Speaker 1: you know, maybe some of your previous relationships. Just you
- 4:32Speaker 1: kind of gone through a lot of stuff and like
- 4:34Speaker 1: we've seen it. How are you doing today? That's a
- 4:38Speaker 1: good question. Uh. Today, I'm still like the same person.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I'm still kind of the same person, but I'm just less.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I try to be less open on social media and
- 4:49Speaker 1: everything just because I don't feel like it makes anything better.
- 4:53Speaker 1: But the reason why I try to be open on
- 4:55Speaker 1: social media is because there's a lot of people out
- 4:57Speaker 1: there going through the same shit. You know, we're all human.
- 4:59Speaker 1: You could be you get out of ten million followers,
- 5:01Speaker 1: ten million dollars, like, life's still gonna hit you. You You
- 5:04Speaker 1: can't get away from life. But at the end of
- 5:06Speaker 1: the day, I feel like I feel like I'm I'm
- 5:08Speaker 1: just going through the same thing, but I kind of
- 5:10Speaker 1: deal with my you know, my thoughts and everything in
- 5:14Speaker 1: a different way. Now now that I'm getting older, I
- 5:16Speaker 1: talk to people, I uh you know, just have conversations
- 5:19Speaker 1: with myself, but I still try to be open. You know,
- 5:22Speaker 1: have you got a therapy? I have done to therapy?
- 5:24Speaker 1: Was it helpful? No? It wasn't. No. How many times
- 5:29Speaker 1: did you go though? I've been to three different therapists,
- 5:32Speaker 1: and maybe I need to find the right one's that's
- 5:34Speaker 1: what they say. But I don't know, man, I feel
- 5:37Speaker 1: I know it's supposed to be like a judge free
- 5:39Speaker 1: zone kind of thing, but I feel like when I'm
- 5:41Speaker 1: telling my story not judging, but they kind of don't
- 5:45Speaker 1: get it, you know, and it's hard to talk to
- 5:47Speaker 1: someone who doesn't get it when you say this, this
- 5:49Speaker 1: and that and they're like hmm. But you know, I'm
- 5:53Speaker 1: not sure. Maybe I need to you know what you need?
- 5:56Speaker 1: I don't know what I need. You need a hero's
- 5:58Speaker 1: dose of mushrooms, that is, that's the truth. Yeah, oh, man,
- 6:04Speaker 1: or you need to hop on a plane with your
- 6:07Speaker 1: lady go to fucking Costa Rica. Yeah, do some fucking ayahuasca.
- 6:11Speaker 1: But but here's the crazy thing. Here's a crazy thing. Serious.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I know, I hear you and i' and I've heard
- 6:15Speaker 1: that and I've been told that. But I love life, bro. No,
- 6:18Speaker 1: you're gonna love life more. No, listen, bro, I promise
- 6:22Speaker 1: you it's not I'm not telling you something like in
- 6:24Speaker 1: a negative way, like yeah, everyone, not you, not just yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 1: anybody in the world should do psychedelics at least at
- 6:34Speaker 1: least once all the time. Yeah. Here's the thing with me, though,
- 6:41Speaker 1: I feel like I have a great balance, Like I
- 6:43Speaker 1: love life, but then like I hate life. But having
- 6:46Speaker 1: having that pain, having that anger, having that internal flame
- 6:49Speaker 1: inside me, pushes me to do certain things, you know,
- 6:52Speaker 1: push pushes me to make certain music for people, you
- 6:55Speaker 1: know what I mean. Who So, like Aaron Rodgers. He's
- 6:59Speaker 1: a football player. So he's fucking back to back NFL
- 7:03Speaker 1: MVP this year. He's been terrible. But two years ago
- 7:07Speaker 1: he said he went to Costa Rica did ayahuasca and
- 7:10Speaker 1: unlocked something in his brain and he's just like, fucking
- 7:12Speaker 1: he's an amazing football player. And I mean he's always
- 7:14Speaker 1: been amazing, but hecuse what what changed? He just said
- 7:18Speaker 1: that he like understood the world more, he became more
- 7:20Speaker 1: self aware, he became more like it really kind of
- 7:23Speaker 1: kills your ego. It kind of like, yeah, you should
- 7:26Speaker 1: do some shrooms. At least I'm gonna try it. I
- 7:29Speaker 1: got some for you before you leave here, you'll have some. Okay.
- 7:34Speaker 1: What I like? I like the balance between between happy
- 7:38Speaker 1: and side though I don't want to be happy all
- 7:40Speaker 1: the time. I mean, you don't want to be happy
- 7:42Speaker 1: all the time, but you also want to like have
- 7:44Speaker 1: an understanding of why you're Like there's probably a lot
- 7:47Speaker 1: of like repressed ship that you don't even know is
- 7:50Speaker 1: there for real? Like I had my homie. Uh I
- 7:54Speaker 1: would say his name, but he's an industry guy. Uh
- 7:57Speaker 1: he said that he he Well, I knew this guy
- 8:00Speaker 1: to be like one of the more degenerate pieces of
- 8:02Speaker 1: shit of like all time. Gambled, did a bunch of
- 8:05Speaker 1: fucking cocaine. It's always sniffing blo off hooker's asses. Just
- 8:08Speaker 1: a psychopath, right, Okay, great guy though I love him.
- 8:13Speaker 1: But he did ayahuasca and he hasn't touched drugs. He
- 8:17Speaker 1: hasn't gambled. He got married, had a baby, he got
- 8:19Speaker 1: fucking Wow, he's like professionally doing better than he's ever done.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Like ayahuasca. So what's the ayahuasca. It's like a it's
- 8:26Speaker 1: like a drink, like a tea that stems from a
- 8:29Speaker 1: root that is DMT based, but it's kind of like
- 8:33Speaker 1: Paoti different. I'm not too familiar with paoti, but it's
- 8:37Speaker 1: it's a lot more intense. You drink it and DMT
- 8:40Speaker 1: kind of No, DMT is like, yeah, it is DMT,
- 8:43Speaker 1: but it's a slower version of DMC. Like have you
- 8:45Speaker 1: smoked DMT? Have you ever smoked MT? No? I haven't.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I can't say I have. Yeah, if you smoked d MT,
- 8:51Speaker 1: you would just go away for like a half hour
- 8:53Speaker 1: ayahuasca your present in the moment. It's like six hours. Yeah,
- 8:57Speaker 1: of like you, but you do it with a shaman
- 9:00Speaker 1: to work you through it, you know, and they guide you,
- 9:03Speaker 1: they guide you, and then you come out the other
- 9:05Speaker 1: side like a fucking Like my friend who we were
- 9:08Speaker 1: talking about told me it was like doing thirty years
- 9:11Speaker 1: of therapy in six hours. Wow. Is there anyone that
- 9:14Speaker 1: it hasn't worked for? Nobody? I know, no one that
- 9:16Speaker 1: went crazy? Like no, I got a couple of homies,
- 9:19Speaker 1: so like they go to Costa Rica three times a
- 9:21Speaker 1: year just to get there, like get just to get it,
- 9:24Speaker 1: get their fucking their mind right. Fuck hey, because you
- 9:29Speaker 1: know what, all that fucking all the therapy shit is
- 9:31Speaker 1: cool and it's helpful. I think everbody should go therapy,
- 9:33Speaker 1: talk to somebody. But like the medicine that they try
- 9:36Speaker 1: to put you on some bullshit like medication. All this
- 9:39Speaker 1: is some fun shit like do some mushrooms, bro, Yeah,
- 9:41Speaker 1: it is that natural kind of thing. Yeah. Yeah, I
- 9:44Speaker 1: feel like talking to someone is important, though it isn't
- 9:46Speaker 1: talking to someone who kind of understands or is willing
- 9:48Speaker 1: to listen even if they don't understand. Yes. But the
- 9:50Speaker 1: other thing is is you're in a position where a
- 9:52Speaker 1: lot of people you probably talk to do they depend
- 9:55Speaker 1: on you in some way, in some way, So don't
- 9:59Speaker 1: talk anybody who depends on you for anything. Yeah, but
- 10:02Speaker 1: there's there are also people who depend on that aren't
- 10:05Speaker 1: like that makes sense selfish, that makes sense, of course,
- 10:07Speaker 1: but you know not everyone is like extremely selfish, and
- 10:11Speaker 1: some people are willing to, you know, kind of step
- 10:13Speaker 1: outside of who they are and understand you feel me
- 10:16Speaker 1: no for sure? Man. So this album? What would you
- 10:19Speaker 1: describe this album as just in terms of like the motivation,
- 10:24Speaker 1: the message? Yeah, you're at I think it's I think
- 10:26Speaker 1: it's just a new me. I took a two year
- 10:29Speaker 1: kind of break, didn't drop a project, and before this.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I've dropped the album every single year, especially as an
- 10:35Speaker 1: independent artist, of course have to do that. But I
- 10:38Speaker 1: took like a year, two years off, and I kind
- 10:42Speaker 1: of just like did all the bad shit I had
- 10:44Speaker 1: to do, did all the you know, did all the
- 10:46Speaker 1: self reflecting I had to do, and just kind of
- 10:48Speaker 1: did everything. And I feel like it's a new me.
- 10:50Speaker 1: But at the same time, it's just kind of a
- 10:54Speaker 1: just a recap of, you know, what I've been through
- 10:56Speaker 1: and everything. Yeah, what's the jew I forget the exact
- 11:03Speaker 1: day June. What the song about the June six? June six,
- 11:05Speaker 1: what's the significance of that date? Yeah, that's that. That's
- 11:09Speaker 1: it's a more of a personal song. I try to
- 11:12Speaker 1: get real, like in depth and like deep about someone
- 11:16Speaker 1: who you know, obviously I had a you know something
- 11:20Speaker 1: with but I felt like naming that song that just
- 11:23Speaker 1: because it's a real uh, I don't know that that
- 11:29Speaker 1: day when it was, yeah, a bad day or a
- 11:32Speaker 1: good day. A good day, Yeah, a good day. So
- 11:34Speaker 1: I kind of do that like reflecting on that, and
- 11:36Speaker 1: when that day passes by, I'm kind of just like,
- 11:39Speaker 1: you know, I don't know. Yeah, but you are pretty
- 11:43Speaker 1: outward with your relationships online. I feel like, yeah, I
- 11:46Speaker 1: feel like it's not it's not that out of the box.
- 11:50Speaker 1: It's not normal people do that. But do you always
- 11:53Speaker 1: like you're a famous guy? Right you people? People? Fucking
- 11:57Speaker 1: fucking bro you're late. I like it, man, it's lit.
- 12:00Speaker 1: If I'm with someone I like to, I like to
- 12:01Speaker 1: show him all. Yeah exactly. But is there any like
- 12:04Speaker 1: downside to that? Because I, I mean, I'm not as
- 12:06Speaker 1: popping as you, but I fucking feel the downside. Well,
- 12:09Speaker 1: I mean what can be uh NFL players hopping in
- 12:13Speaker 1: the d M. I mean what they're like, there's about this?
- 12:15Speaker 1: How about this? I said? I said Tupac was overrated
- 12:18Speaker 1: in an interview once ship and I didn't even meet it.
- 12:21Speaker 1: In like, he's overrated, overrated. I just meant he's not
- 12:24Speaker 1: top five, he's like top ten maybe you know, he's
- 12:26Speaker 1: like nine to ten two. He's not top two. He's not.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I love and I love Tupac. I'm a Tupac fan,
- 12:32Speaker 1: but dude, there was fucking these maniac motherfucking Tupac fans
- 12:36Speaker 1: who threatened to murder my wife. They d m her,
- 12:38Speaker 1: Oh wow, yes, yeah, that'll that'll get you that And
- 12:42Speaker 1: I didn't even say it in a disrespectful way. Yeah. Yeah,
- 12:48Speaker 1: So that's social media. Social media is crazy. Social media
- 12:51Speaker 1: is crazy. But with me, I feel like I'm just
- 12:54Speaker 1: I don't I feel like it's better man to not
- 12:57Speaker 1: really have anything to hide. And of course, like if
- 13:00Speaker 1: you don't feel like putting your business out there is cool.
- 13:02Speaker 1: But if I'm with someone comfortable with it, I'm comfortable
- 13:05Speaker 1: with it. And and like and like I said, whatever
- 13:08Speaker 1: happens happens if someone slides into the you know, NFL
- 13:11Speaker 1: player and that's it for me, and you know, I
- 13:17Speaker 1: guess I get swooped on. This is kind of has happen.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Say he brought it up, but I'm saying, Aaron Rodgers
- 13:23Speaker 1: take the check. If Aaron if Aaron Rodgers, if Aaron
- 13:28Speaker 1: Rogers swoops and it was that easy, then it wasn't
- 13:30Speaker 1: meant to be in the first place. If Aaron Rodgers
- 13:32Speaker 1: DMS my chick, I'm gonna be like, go ahead, go ahead.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You got to leave it up to give you some tickets.
- 13:38Speaker 1: You got to leave it up to the girl to
- 13:39Speaker 1: the side. You need some good tickets, that's all I need.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Go ahead, handle it. Let me hang out with him
- 13:45Speaker 1: once a year, we'll go do Ayahwaska together. Like, how's
- 13:49Speaker 1: my ex wife? She's good, She's a nice lady, right
- 13:52Speaker 1: shot to Aaron Rodgers, that's a different level. So for
- 13:57Speaker 1: you man, going from starting out in Dependently you're on
- 14:02Speaker 1: RCA right Warner, going through the major label situation where
- 14:08Speaker 1: it felt like they kind of didn't know what to
- 14:09Speaker 1: do with you or it just kind of felt like
- 14:11Speaker 1: obviously it didn't work out how you probably wanted it.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I'll tell you right now. It was it was just
- 14:17Speaker 1: I got to do what I wanted to do, but
- 14:20Speaker 1: they also had to approve certain things and I wasn't
- 14:23Speaker 1: feeling it. You know. When I got off Warner, I
- 14:26Speaker 1: was able to make music with who I wanted to
- 14:28Speaker 1: make music with and blah blah blah like, but when
- 14:32Speaker 1: I was on on Warner, I was like, I want
- 14:34Speaker 1: to do this is a perfect song for this person.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I want to get this record to this person. I
- 14:38Speaker 1: have someone that wants to make it and they would
- 14:41Speaker 1: like give their personal personal opinions. You know, I even
- 14:46Speaker 1: I just have so many crazy like stories. I was
- 14:50Speaker 1: only on the label for two years, but it was
- 14:52Speaker 1: just like you got all these people that don't really
- 14:54Speaker 1: know music that want to tell you how to make
- 14:57Speaker 1: music and who you should make music with and how
- 15:00Speaker 1: you should create music, you know what I mean. And
- 15:02Speaker 1: it just wasn't wasn't my vibe because you're not in
- 15:05Speaker 1: there with all musicians. You're in there with business people,
- 15:09Speaker 1: suiting ties, people who know like finance and all that
- 15:13Speaker 1: kind of stuff. But when it comes to the music, like,
- 15:15Speaker 1: there's no answers to this. What up, y'all? We got
- 15:17Speaker 1: to stop the interview real quick. Tell you about our
- 15:18Speaker 1: partners at my bookie. Man. Look, it's so much to
- 15:20Speaker 1: gamble on right now. We got World Cup soccer, we
- 15:23Speaker 1: got Bowl games coming up, NBA basketball of course, NFL. Man,
- 15:27Speaker 1: we're getting into the playoffs in a few weeks, well
- 15:30Speaker 1: in like six weeks or something like that. With that
- 15:32Speaker 1: being said, this wins some money, all right, Go to
- 15:35Speaker 1: my bookie right now, sign up with that promo code Bootleg,
- 15:38Speaker 1: and they will match your deposit up to one thousand dollars.
- 15:42Speaker 1: That's free money to gamble with. That's free money. What
- 15:45Speaker 1: are we talking about, my bookie. Let's talk about the props.
- 15:49Speaker 1: You could bet on all kinds of player props. NBA
- 15:52Speaker 1: points will Yanni's win the MVP. You could do futures
- 15:55Speaker 1: on the award season for the NBA. So much going on.
- 15:58Speaker 1: You could also still bet on the NFL MVPR as well.
- 16:00Speaker 1: There's just so much ways to get money on my bookie.
- 16:02Speaker 1: But what's most important is that they're giving you free money.
- 16:05Speaker 1: You sign up in my bookie right now. You use
- 16:07Speaker 1: the promo code Bootleg, and they won't match your first
- 16:11Speaker 1: deposit up to one thousand dollars. That's right, free money.
- 16:15Speaker 1: What are we doing? Head over there, put us some
- 16:18Speaker 1: bets and let's try to win some fucking money together.
- 16:20Speaker 1: All right, my bookie, use the promo code Bootleg. Let's
- 16:23Speaker 1: get back to the interview. You know, what I realized
- 16:25Speaker 1: is a lot of these people in these buildings and
- 16:28Speaker 1: these major labels, their number one objective is to not
- 16:31Speaker 1: get fired. That's all I care about. So they're like,
- 16:34Speaker 1: how can I not get fired? They want to avoid risks, right,
- 16:37Speaker 1: exactly right, So their whole thought process is, Okay, I
- 16:41Speaker 1: don't want to get fired because I got a fucking
- 16:43Speaker 1: mortgage and these fucking kids. I gotta feed in a side, bitch,
- 16:46Speaker 1: and all this other shit gets done. And artists are Risks,
- 16:49Speaker 1: and I have this, I have this artist I want
- 16:52Speaker 1: to push him to do a song with. I'm playing
- 16:54Speaker 1: the numbers game. So and so has got a fucking
- 16:57Speaker 1: viral hit or it's hot right now. Let me try
- 16:59Speaker 1: to wish that feature to happen, even if it's not organic. Yeah,
- 17:03Speaker 1: where you might be like, I would rather do this
- 17:05Speaker 1: because it makes sense and it sounds good, and oh
- 17:08Speaker 1: that's it. I've I've got the credit. They when I
- 17:12Speaker 1: was in Warner I mean no shade, but I was.
- 17:14Speaker 1: They try to push me to do so many songs
- 17:16Speaker 1: with these artists whose the most random artists. They try
- 17:19Speaker 1: to have you do I don't know, just random, like E.
- 17:23Speaker 1: D M kind of thing. I don't even remember the name.
- 17:25Speaker 1: It's like, yo, you should do a song with fucking
- 17:27Speaker 1: crazy Yeah. And then I was, by the way, every
- 17:30Speaker 1: kind of hard marshmows fire. Yeah. It just it just
- 17:33Speaker 1: has to it's just bad examples. It has to feel right,
- 17:36Speaker 1: it has to feel right. But I've been in the
- 17:38Speaker 1: room and I've sat with like the President and I've
- 17:40Speaker 1: been like, oh, you know, I want to do this song,
- 17:43Speaker 1: or we're thinking about we want to get this song
- 17:45Speaker 1: done with. There was one time, I was like, I
- 17:46Speaker 1: want to get this song done with Juice World, and
- 17:49Speaker 1: they're like, oh, Juice World, Like wow, we don't think
- 17:51Speaker 1: that's like necessary or we don't think that's early to
- 17:55Speaker 1: you know, it was early, super early, and they're like, oh,
- 17:57Speaker 1: we don't think And I was like it makes sense,
- 17:59Speaker 1: like the sound music kind of things that would have
- 18:02Speaker 1: been crazy. They're like, oh no, well we think, you know,
- 18:04Speaker 1: we should kind of turn that sad around and we
- 18:07Speaker 1: should do something more up tempo. You know, they always
- 18:09Speaker 1: want the up tempo kind of thing. I'm just like,
- 18:11Speaker 1: that's not me. That's not what I'm trying to do.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Like I'm trying to you know, I have this vision
- 18:16Speaker 1: and they're like, oh, well this song and these songs
- 18:17Speaker 1: are doing good. It's just too much like like analysis
- 18:22Speaker 1: from people who aren't really like taking in, like well,
- 18:26Speaker 1: they're just worried about losing their job. Yeah, that's what
- 18:28Speaker 1: it is, and that's what But sometimes they think they
- 18:32Speaker 1: know just bably want to put numbers on the wall, bro,
- 18:34Speaker 1: but they think they know based off previous numbers, and
- 18:37Speaker 1: there's always going to be something, everything's always evolving, yeah exactly, Yeah, sure,
- 18:41Speaker 1: they go off the past. So now right now, they're
- 18:43Speaker 1: going off like TikTok and and you know it has
- 18:46Speaker 1: to be like this, it has to be like this
- 18:47Speaker 1: because this is doing good. But what's after that? You know,
- 18:50Speaker 1: what TikTok thing is is the best and worst thing
- 18:53Speaker 1: that's probably ever happened there oh music, because it's like
- 18:55Speaker 1: it's dope because you get discovered and if you know,
- 18:57Speaker 1: there's people who've gotten discovered on TikTok that are actually
- 19:00Speaker 1: really talented and yeah, but then there's other ship where
- 19:03Speaker 1: it's like these labels are just signing motherfucker's based on
- 19:06Speaker 1: a five second clip, a twenty five second of a song.
- 19:09Speaker 1: It's like and then you hear the whole song and
- 19:11Speaker 1: you're like this, what is this? You know, but it's
- 19:15Speaker 1: giving more power to independent artists. So at the same time,
- 19:18Speaker 1: right because people, you know, you have a hit song
- 19:20Speaker 1: and you're just like, fuck, I don't need no label.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Well talk, It also is good if you're on it
- 19:25Speaker 1: and you're doing the right shit, you're creating the right content,
- 19:27Speaker 1: you're engaging with your fans. It's like it's a way
- 19:30Speaker 1: to pop your ship, right, you know, Like someone who
- 19:34Speaker 1: kind of had a similar career path in terms of
- 19:37Speaker 1: like dealing with major labels, starting off independent, ending up
- 19:40Speaker 1: independent again. It's like Snow the product. Yeah, she's on
- 19:43Speaker 1: Atlantic forever. She's dope, and they fucking fumbled that whole situation.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Then she got off and then she went and did
- 19:48Speaker 1: a fucking freestyle that went viral. Yeah, and then it
- 19:50Speaker 1: got Grammy nominated. I've seen it. I've seen it. I've
- 19:52Speaker 1: known Snow for a long time years, six plus years.
- 19:57Speaker 1: She's she's a beast, and she really got that. She
- 19:59Speaker 1: got the Latin side to her too, so she got
- 20:01Speaker 1: a wild Yeah, yeah, crazy, she's super dope, underrated, under
- 20:06Speaker 1: super underrated. What is for you having the type of
- 20:09Speaker 1: fans you have? Has there ever been a situation with
- 20:11Speaker 1: a fan that like they went a little overboard? We
- 20:14Speaker 1: talked about them today. I had I've had stalkers. I've
- 20:17Speaker 1: had stockers. I had people like waiting outside my house
- 20:19Speaker 1: like kind of thing like, oh no, where you live?
- 20:22Speaker 1: Be with them? Yeah? Yeah, crazy, fucking weird, like real,
- 20:26Speaker 1: like real story, like stalker outside waiting outside, Call the cops, cops, chicker, dude,
- 20:32Speaker 1: chick Yeah girl, Yeah, I don't know, man, I mean no,
- 20:36Speaker 1: but it's not that it's not it's not the attention
- 20:38Speaker 1: you want. It sounds like, oh wow, but that sounds terrible. Yeah,
- 20:42Speaker 1: it's bad. You call the cops, cops come and they're
- 20:44Speaker 1: just like oh and cops leave. You're like, damn, she's
- 20:46Speaker 1: still here here? Then what do you do? You know?
- 20:50Speaker 1: And it's just like you gotta get a what's that
- 20:52Speaker 1: thing called order of protection? Man? But what order of protection?
- 20:56Speaker 1: It's like where they can't restrain in order. Yeah. I
- 20:59Speaker 1: don't even know the person's name or who they are
- 21:01Speaker 1: or anything about them. And I'm like, we're all scared
- 21:03Speaker 1: to go down there. We don't know if she's there
- 21:05Speaker 1: with the knife or anything. That's fucking crazy. You can't
- 21:07Speaker 1: even sleep, you're outside the window. Yes, crazy, it's crazy.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Would you say because you have had some You've had
- 21:14Speaker 1: some pretty crazy like brushes with almost losing your life
- 21:17Speaker 1: over the years, MANE was it last year that someone
- 21:21Speaker 1: tried to shoot at you were going to Vegas? I
- 21:23Speaker 1: think it was like last year, two years ago. Yeah,
- 21:25Speaker 1: and then something like that also kind of happened in
- 21:27Speaker 1: like twenty fifteen, twenty fifteen. Yeah, I got I got shot,
- 21:31Speaker 1: got object. Yeah. I mean, you've had some serious brushes
- 21:35Speaker 1: with death. LA is crazy though, it's fucked for sure,
- 21:40Speaker 1: it's only getting worse. But do you like when that
- 21:42Speaker 1: has happened to you. I had a similar situation. I
- 21:47Speaker 1: didn't have anyone try to kill me almost kill my
- 21:49Speaker 1: fucking cell phone. Not not on purpose, but uh yes,
- 21:54Speaker 1: it like shook me. Man. I'm like, damn, I could
- 21:56Speaker 1: have fucking like literally died. Like, yeah, you know, I've
- 22:00Speaker 1: I've had a lot of experiences with that. One thing
- 22:02Speaker 1: I kind of learned is like riding around with you know,
- 22:05Speaker 1: in the lambos and three corvettes following behind you and
- 22:09Speaker 1: riding around in these cars and just being kind of loud.
- 22:12Speaker 1: It's not really like the smartest thing to do or
- 22:15Speaker 1: the safest thing to do, you know. And I used
- 22:17Speaker 1: to roll around like that a lot, but these days
- 22:20Speaker 1: I'm kind of like more, I'm just smarter about it.
- 22:23Speaker 1: I don't really like the all the crazy, loud, bright
- 22:27Speaker 1: color cars. You seem to be like a pretty peaceful guy. Yeah,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I could get wild at times, No, but I just
- 22:32Speaker 1: mean in terms of like you put a lot of
- 22:34Speaker 1: positive energy into the world. Ye. Your music is like
- 22:38Speaker 1: it's not very negative. It's not like you're talking like
- 22:40Speaker 1: a bunch of crazy, but I like to have fun though.
- 22:43Speaker 1: You do like to have fun a lot of fun.
- 22:45Speaker 1: You do like to have fun sometimes on Instagram life. Yeah,
- 22:49Speaker 1: sometimes your ig lives fucking starts up, bro, you know.
- 22:52Speaker 1: But you know, I just the older I get, the
- 22:55Speaker 1: more I realize, like, Okay, I gotta move smart because
- 23:00Speaker 1: and I've learned from a lot in the past, but
- 23:02Speaker 1: now I'm just like, Okay, if we go somewhere, if
- 23:04Speaker 1: we do something, we have to be strategic and militant,
- 23:06Speaker 1: and you know, moved the right way, especially with what's
- 23:09Speaker 1: going on, you know, these days, it's just it's fucked
- 23:12Speaker 1: right now, It's fuck it's too crazy, yeah, because LA's
- 23:15Speaker 1: kind of always had that element, right, But it's like,
- 23:17Speaker 1: I feel like the ed D thing was so strong
- 23:20Speaker 1: here compared to everywhere else. Yea, I had I had
- 23:23Speaker 1: friends that were coming here from out of town, yeah,
- 23:28Speaker 1: to like commit edd fraud and they didn't get it
- 23:31Speaker 1: from here, but they were just getting money money. Yeah,
- 23:35Speaker 1: And that's what we're talking about that too. And I
- 23:36Speaker 1: think people are just getting away with shit out here
- 23:39Speaker 1: and they're just like fuck, like not fearing the consequences
- 23:42Speaker 1: and not knowing, like what's what's going to come back?
- 23:44Speaker 1: So people are just down to do whatever they were
- 23:46Speaker 1: just like you could find like a homeless guy and
- 23:48Speaker 1: just paying for his social and his information and then
- 23:52Speaker 1: collect I fuck I home. He's hitting the ATM for
- 23:55Speaker 1: like five or six grand every Friday. Just mask yes
- 24:01Speaker 1: and that's it and that's it. And it was so easy.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I was like, what the fuck is going on? Bro,
- 24:06Speaker 1: They're trying to convince me to do it. I thought
- 24:08Speaker 1: about it. I'm like, wow, I'm like, yo, y'all are
- 24:12Speaker 1: getting away with this ship. I'm like what But what
- 24:17Speaker 1: I feel this is fucked. I feel I've never seen
- 24:20Speaker 1: that ship happened. Like, I've never seen people get money
- 24:22Speaker 1: so easily in my life. So it was like scary.
- 24:24Speaker 1: It's almost like the Bitcoin thing, where's like it might
- 24:26Speaker 1: be a little fucked eventually, Like but what I fear
- 24:29Speaker 1: is karma though, because it always comes back, you know. Yeah,
- 24:32Speaker 1: So I was. I thought about it. So I'm like,
- 24:33Speaker 1: damn that comes it comes back to federal prison. Federal
- 24:39Speaker 1: prison is how it comes back for you. Oh yeah,
- 24:41Speaker 1: everyone's going to prison right now for sure, especially with
- 24:44Speaker 1: the VPS. Oh my god. Oh man. There was a
- 24:47Speaker 1: guy later you're going to jail. There's a huge company,
- 24:51Speaker 1: huge company, one might venture. We might be wearing some
- 24:56Speaker 1: of this brand in this room right now. They're in
- 25:00Speaker 1: Orange County, Okay, the owner imagine starting a business that's
- 25:07Speaker 1: fake and then so you not to put if I
- 25:12Speaker 1: say too much. This motherfucker did all this ship and
- 25:15Speaker 1: then got a fucking he started a whole new business
- 25:18Speaker 1: just to fucking get a PPP own with pretty much
- 25:22Speaker 1: fake employees, made everyone work like one hour, and then
- 25:26Speaker 1: bought a fucking private jet. Crazy, And now the Alphabet
- 25:30Speaker 1: boys are on their ass and it's like, Bro, what'd
- 25:32Speaker 1: you think was gonna yeah? Done? What did you think
- 25:34Speaker 1: was gonna happen? Yeah? This is I mean, especially you
- 25:37Speaker 1: do it on a big level like that, they're gonna
- 25:40Speaker 1: find you. I think that that that that that is
- 25:43Speaker 1: also a big attribution ast to why like LA's kind
- 25:45Speaker 1: of gotten a little more crazier because like people got
- 25:47Speaker 1: a little bit of taste of that, you know, and
- 25:49Speaker 1: they want and they want it and they want more.
- 25:50Speaker 1: So it's like, are you pretty like uh careful about
- 25:54Speaker 1: like not like if you're gonna go out to eat
- 25:56Speaker 1: or something, not posting or like I mean even like
- 25:59Speaker 1: bars leaving the story at home. Oh yeah, well when
- 26:03Speaker 1: I go anytime I go out anywhere that's not like
- 26:05Speaker 1: down the street or if like I'm in a public
- 26:07Speaker 1: situation like this is a private situation, so yeah, a podcast.
- 26:11Speaker 1: But if I go out to eat food, like I'm
- 26:13Speaker 1: wearing shorts like dirty shoes in a hoodie and like nothing, no, no, nothing,
- 26:18Speaker 1: and I'm just like, no one's gonna look twice at
- 26:22Speaker 1: me because I'm just like I have nothing for you, bro,
- 26:25Speaker 1: you know, yeah, but you can also always I'm trying
- 26:28Speaker 1: to push this narrative to rappers and start rocking fake jewelry. Yeah,
- 26:32Speaker 1: who gives a fuck? Yeah, who's gonna question I've had
- 26:36Speaker 1: my share of. You know, if you're a little baby
- 26:38Speaker 1: and you have a fake like fucking Rolex besides fake watchbuster,
- 26:42Speaker 1: he's gonna call you out for sure. Yeah, but who's
- 26:44Speaker 1: gonna question you? Fuck? That's what no one, no one,
- 26:48Speaker 1: no one could walk up to a little baby with
- 26:49Speaker 1: a diamond testing. I'm like, funk off, bro, Yeah like
- 26:52Speaker 1: what he don't even got to say. He got his security,
- 26:54Speaker 1: he got his people, yo back up? Yeah you know
- 26:57Speaker 1: do you? Yeah? I mean, not a bad idea when
- 27:00Speaker 1: you first got into the game, did you do the
- 27:02Speaker 1: fake jewels? Of course, just because, And it's less about like, oh,
- 27:06Speaker 1: fake dreelry, but more like people kind of give you,
- 27:09Speaker 1: gift you this and that, and you find out like, oh,
- 27:12Speaker 1: he's not giving me real diamonds. He's giving me you know,
- 27:16Speaker 1: and it's cool, like fuck, I'll take it. Whatever. That
- 27:18Speaker 1: happened to me. And I was living in Tampa and
- 27:20Speaker 1: shout out to my guy, Jane the jeweler. He does
- 27:22Speaker 1: all russ Is jewelry. Great guy, but Jane gifted me
- 27:25Speaker 1: this giant fucking Jaine and I'm thinking, I'm rocking some
- 27:29Speaker 1: real shit. It's happened. It's happened to me. For that
- 27:32Speaker 1: ship was played as fuck and the diamonds were not real.
- 27:38Speaker 1: But if it's free, it's free. And if it looks
- 27:40Speaker 1: good on you, fucking why not. And if you and
- 27:42Speaker 1: if you get robbed, you're kind of just like take it. Yeah. No.
- 27:45Speaker 1: My boy was like he gave you that, and he
- 27:48Speaker 1: was like, let me see it. He just held it.
- 27:49Speaker 1: He's like, it's not real. I was like, I don't
- 27:51Speaker 1: know shit about jewelry. How active do you plan on
- 27:54Speaker 1: being after now? Obviously you were talking earlier. You know,
- 27:57Speaker 1: you're used to kind of dropping yearly. Are you gonna
- 28:00Speaker 1: make fans wait a lot longer this time or no?
- 28:04Speaker 1: I think I really just it was just these kind
- 28:06Speaker 1: of like two years or that year and a half,
- 28:09Speaker 1: and I needed to take that time off to really
- 28:11Speaker 1: kind of you know, find myself and self reflect, like
- 28:14Speaker 1: I said, But now I'm on go mode. I have
- 28:16Speaker 1: one hundred plus songs already already already planned out, ready
- 28:20Speaker 1: to come out. So I'm ready to go. And with
- 28:23Speaker 1: being independent, I kind of look back on it, I'm like,
- 28:26Speaker 1: why did I wait so long? But it's more of
- 28:27Speaker 1: a personal reason because now in this day and age especially,
- 28:31Speaker 1: you have to be consistent. You have to be ten
- 28:33Speaker 1: times more consistent than four years ago, five years ago,
- 28:36Speaker 1: six years ago. You're in competition with everyone. Now yeah
- 28:40Speaker 1: it is everybody. Everybody who has an iPhone, you're in
- 28:43Speaker 1: competition with them. And you're not only competing with with
- 28:47Speaker 1: other artists, you're competing with just attention. Yeah, I don't, bro,
- 28:51Speaker 1: I'm telling you, bro, Like I'm a huge rap fan
- 28:53Speaker 1: and I listened to I listened to I mean, I
- 28:55Speaker 1: put in my Spotify recap I think I listened to
- 28:57Speaker 1: like twenty eight thousand minutes of music or some shit.
- 28:59Speaker 1: But Broby on podcast Dog, Yeah, Like, if I'm riding around,
- 29:03Speaker 1: I'm usually listening to somebody talk about fucking fantasy football
- 29:07Speaker 1: or sports, or Joe Rogan talking about ayahuasca and artists
- 29:11Speaker 1: and musicians. They're in competition with Well with that shit
- 29:14Speaker 1: for sure, everything because you just need the attention. What
- 29:16Speaker 1: are you doing in your spare time these days? Like,
- 29:19Speaker 1: how do you spend time? It's funny you mention it.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I gamble a lot. I have a lot of fun
- 29:23Speaker 1: doing that. I play everything, poker, black jack, everything kind
- 29:28Speaker 1: of you know. I mean, listen, I happen to be
- 29:30Speaker 1: a degenerate. Yeah, and it's same. You say that in
- 29:34Speaker 1: a very like playful way, but oh, it's not playful.
- 29:38Speaker 1: You've probably had some terrible nights where you wanted to
- 29:40Speaker 1: fuck it. Bro I've been at the casino and I've
- 29:43Speaker 1: genuinely thought about robbing people. Yeah that's not recently, not recently,
- 29:50Speaker 1: but like ten years ago, like twelve years ago, when
- 29:54Speaker 1: I was doing radio in Vegas, and I'd be at
- 29:56Speaker 1: the fucking Mandola Bay across the street from the radio station,
- 29:58Speaker 1: I'd be down like three bands. When it's like my
- 30:00Speaker 1: fucking everything I made for the month, I'll just start.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I'll be like, yo, man, I go to this fucking
- 30:04Speaker 1: high roller room and try to catch somebody fucking slipping. Yeah, mana, yo,
- 30:10Speaker 1: what happ's bootleg? keV gotta interrupt the interview. Shout out
- 30:13Speaker 1: to our good friends at Blue Chew. It is cuffing season.
- 30:15Speaker 1: It's getting cold as a bitch outside right now, and
- 30:18Speaker 1: you could definitely use a little extra umph fellas. All right,

- 30:26Speaker 1: All right. So if if you're really, really, you know,
- 30:29Speaker 1: trying to get your dick game right, trying to make

- 30:38Speaker 1: the promo code Bootleg. They're gonna give you a month

- 31:28Speaker 1: dot Com use that promo code Bootleg get your first
- 31:31Speaker 1: month for free. Let's get back to the interview. So
- 31:34Speaker 1: do you do you you play everything equally? Yeah, I
- 31:37Speaker 1: play everything kind of equally. You know. What I learned
- 31:40Speaker 1: about gambling is everything it opened my eyes to, like
- 31:43Speaker 1: not even money. But everything is relative, you know, So
- 31:46Speaker 1: when when someone loses one hundred dollars, it's like I've
- 31:49Speaker 1: seen rich people lose, you know, at a table in
- 31:53Speaker 1: an hour. I've seen them lose five hundred thousand dollars.
- 31:56Speaker 1: But everything is relative. So when you see someone rob
- 31:58Speaker 1: someone or kill someone over you know that one hundred
- 32:00Speaker 1: dollars and you're like, oh, it's just one hundred dollars.
- 32:03Speaker 1: It might have been you know everything, yeah, exactly, and
- 32:06Speaker 1: every It kind of like put everything into perspective for
- 32:09Speaker 1: me and seeing all these different walks of life, like
- 32:12Speaker 1: play with all this different type of money, and it's
- 32:15Speaker 1: opened my eyes, you know, to like to how kind
- 32:19Speaker 1: of fucked up and twisted money is, you know it.
- 32:21Speaker 1: And it made me value money a lot less, you
- 32:26Speaker 1: know how, because I used to be like, Yo, this
- 32:28Speaker 1: is what money is, what we need to survive. But
- 32:31Speaker 1: I've just seen so so many things, so many crazy
- 32:35Speaker 1: gamble there. It almost like desensitizes you to the factor
- 32:39Speaker 1: giving money. It feels like you're playing a game, yeah,
- 32:41Speaker 1: because they give you the chips and it's like this
- 32:43Speaker 1: is little chips and then you walk away, you go
- 32:46Speaker 1: you go home, and then and you're like, oh, that
- 32:49Speaker 1: shit was real moneys. Yeah. The worst is like I
- 32:55Speaker 1: have a friend who's made millions of dollars gambling, but
- 32:58Speaker 1: I've also seen it like he goes to the high
- 33:00Speaker 1: limit slots and he'll do loser. You'll do like thousand,
- 33:05Speaker 1: two thousand of fucking spin And like I've seen him
- 33:08Speaker 1: hit for like nine hundred k yeah, like one point
- 33:10Speaker 1: two million, but I also see him lose. I've also
- 33:12Speaker 1: seen him been down three hundred thousand dollars on one day,
- 33:14Speaker 1: and I was like, it's a part of it. My god.
- 33:17Speaker 1: What is your biggest uh win in gambling and the
- 33:21Speaker 1: worst night you've ever had in terms of loss of homes.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I've had bad nights, but y'all like just little little nights.
- 33:27Speaker 1: My biggest win in gambling was about quarter million on
- 33:31Speaker 1: my birthday, And it was like, I was like, what
- 33:33Speaker 1: the hell like cause I don't really like I believe
- 33:35Speaker 1: in luck, but I believe in like like reality too,
- 33:38Speaker 1: you know, Like I don't think like you go to
- 33:40Speaker 1: Vegas and you just you're gonna win because it's your birthday.
- 33:43Speaker 1: But I won quarter million on my birthday and I'm
- 33:45Speaker 1: just like, what were you playing black blackjack? Only? Yeah?
- 33:50Speaker 1: Quarter million? That was like a slow come up now.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I was like one day, you know what I mean
- 33:55Speaker 1: in terms of like you know, some some people will
- 33:57Speaker 1: sit down at a slot machine and hit a quarter
- 33:58Speaker 1: million in fucking life, oh yeah yeah, or they'll play roulette,
- 34:02Speaker 1: and you know roulette you could win fast like black
- 34:04Speaker 1: I was just slow. Yeah, it's not slow. When you're
- 34:06Speaker 1: betting five thousand, ten thousand, it's pretty fast. You'd be
- 34:09Speaker 1: there for three four hours. You either lose everything or
- 34:11Speaker 1: you win up to fifty to fifty. And I'm like,
- 34:14Speaker 1: that must have been the best birthday of your life.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I was like, this is so crap. I was telling
- 34:18Speaker 1: my girl. I was like, this is like is this birthday?
- 34:20Speaker 1: Look like? What's going on? It was? My goodness, it
- 34:22Speaker 1: was I can't imagine a better birthday. Yeah, ever, yeah,
- 34:26Speaker 1: but then it also made me realize, like, you know,
- 34:28Speaker 1: all this money, like, uh, it's it's I don't know.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I don't have been a fucking problem that night. Bro,
- 34:35Speaker 1: don't let me be up to fifty on my birthday
- 34:37Speaker 1: in Vegas. Be at the fun. I don't know if
- 34:40Speaker 1: you know who he is, you know Mickey, Mickey, the
- 34:42Speaker 1: dude who'll be rolling around Vegas crazy. That's my Homi.
- 34:46Speaker 1: He's he's like I learned from him, the real degenerate life.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Like he's he's he's won millions, millions and a weekend stretch.
- 34:53Speaker 1: There is like real like strategy if you really gamble
- 34:57Speaker 1: the right way, that all it's luck base, But there
- 35:01Speaker 1: is certain things like roulette. There's certain ways you could
- 35:03Speaker 1: play exactly where you have like an advantage on the
- 35:06Speaker 1: house if you got a big enough bank roll. That's
- 35:08Speaker 1: the only the only advantage you have really in gambling.
- 35:11Speaker 1: You just have to have the bankroll, you know, don't
- 35:14Speaker 1: try to to be able to back your losses. Yeah, exactly.
- 35:16Speaker 1: So if you play, you playlet. Yeah. So have you
- 35:19Speaker 1: ever done the strategy where you bet two thirds at once? So, yeah,
- 35:23Speaker 1: the second, third, third, third, first second. Yeah, but on
- 35:27Speaker 1: the first song that's one of those two hits you're
- 35:29Speaker 1: and then if you lose, you triple each time, and
- 35:32Speaker 1: then when you eventually hit, that's like a slow, slow strategy.
- 35:35Speaker 1: You got to sit there. I like to drink, I
- 35:37Speaker 1: like to have you know. When I was living in Vegas, Yeah,
- 35:41Speaker 1: that's what I would do. I'd go to like Fremont
- 35:43Speaker 1: Street where it was like it worked out for you mostly. Yeah,
- 35:46Speaker 1: but I'd be there for like five or six hours
- 35:47Speaker 1: and be up like four hundred bucks. But for me
- 35:49Speaker 1: at the time, I was messing year. It's yeah, it's
- 35:52Speaker 1: it's all relative. But Roulette's fun. I like to bet
- 35:54Speaker 1: on the numbers because when that shit hits you just
- 35:56Speaker 1: get high. You're like, no, that's the dopamine hit of
- 35:59Speaker 1: winning in gam is like nothing else. Yeah, and that's
- 36:01Speaker 1: why it's a problem. Like when I watch sports and
- 36:04Speaker 1: I have a bunch of money going on a fucking
- 36:05Speaker 1: game and it's close and I win, bro, it's like
- 36:09Speaker 1: I have thirty orgasms. Yeah, no, for real, that's what.
- 36:12Speaker 1: But that's why when I problem, that's why it's addicting.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I'm fucking sick. Oh, I've been there. I've been there. Yeah, stumbach.
- 36:20Speaker 1: So my worst gambling stretches always had to do with sports,
- 36:23Speaker 1: and it was always sports betting from my house. Yeah,
- 36:28Speaker 1: I've had some rough run when I gamble, man, I
- 36:30Speaker 1: really like to just have fun. If I'm there stressing
- 36:33Speaker 1: or anything like that, it usually never works out for me.
- 36:36Speaker 1: And it's kind of a waste when you lose, because
- 36:37Speaker 1: it's like, damn, you didn't. So if you were up
- 36:39Speaker 1: to fifty in a night, the biggest worst night that
- 36:42Speaker 1: you've walked away, noise, nothing, nothing bad because I don't
- 36:45Speaker 1: I'm not like doing anything crazy. Maybe you know ten
- 36:49Speaker 1: twenty thirty, I like that, but you know, everything, it
- 36:54Speaker 1: kind of all even I'd probably be divorced. Yeah, i'd
- 37:02Speaker 1: be like, sorry, shit's uh, you know, I don't know
- 37:07Speaker 1: what happened. I was James Harden fucked up. Blaming on
- 37:14Speaker 1: the players. It's literally all I could do, right because
- 37:16Speaker 1: I lost like fifteen Christmas Week ones. Oh no, Christmas Week,
- 37:21Speaker 1: that's the one. I just blamed it on James Harden
- 37:23Speaker 1: because it was his fucking fault. That's the worst Christmas Week.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Fuck James Harden. Yeah, I love Vegas. Man. There's a
- 37:31Speaker 1: guy named Mike White from the Jets who fucking started
- 37:33Speaker 1: a game last year against the Bengals cost me ten bands.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Fuck Mike White too. Yeah, you got sports gamis fun now? Yeah,
- 37:41Speaker 1: I'm just not too not too in the sports. I
- 37:43Speaker 1: feel like you have no control. And the other thing, too,
- 37:45Speaker 1: is like you could also bet on like these like
- 37:47Speaker 1: really zany weird like celebrity boxing matches, yeah, which I
- 37:50Speaker 1: haven't done yet. I've seen. I have not done that.
- 37:53Speaker 1: But there's like online sports books that will like take
- 37:56Speaker 1: your like blue face fight money or whatever whoever's fighting,
- 37:59Speaker 1: like yeah, and it's like those I feel like you
- 38:02Speaker 1: can kind of figure out, what do you think about
- 38:03Speaker 1: tanking Garcia? Oh? Who would win? I like Ryan Garcia. Yeah, school,
- 38:10Speaker 1: I played poker with him before a couple of times. Nice,
- 38:13Speaker 1: I think once something like that. Who would you take?
- 38:17Speaker 1: Oh man, I don't I don't know tang Man, but
- 38:19Speaker 1: I feel like he's just the beast. Yeah. He's also
- 38:22Speaker 1: like the kind of guy that like, I don't know, man,
- 38:26Speaker 1: some of these boxes he's he's like a fucking he's like,
- 38:30Speaker 1: you know, he might as well be part of y
- 38:31Speaker 1: Sol the way you'd be fucking acting. I like that ship.
- 38:34Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, you gotta chill out. Bro, you're a
- 38:36Speaker 1: fucking professional athlete. Dog like that. Can't just be threatening.
- 38:40Speaker 1: People want to be entertained, man, I like that ship.
- 38:43Speaker 1: I'm like, dog, they gonna put a rico on you. Bro,
- 38:45Speaker 1: chill out. Motherfucker's beefing with every rapper alive for I'm like, no,
- 38:50Speaker 1: why are you beefing with rappers? Yeah? People want to
- 38:53Speaker 1: be entertained, man, People like that shit. No, he's dope.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Especially this day and age, you just got to be
- 38:57Speaker 1: outlandish crazy. That's why I six ' nine had so
- 39:00Speaker 1: you know, people want to be entertained. And still to
- 39:02Speaker 1: this day, when someone talks about six ' nine, they'll
- 39:04Speaker 1: be like Yeah, fucking they might hate him, they might
- 39:07Speaker 1: love him, but they're always gonna say, like, I miss
- 39:09Speaker 1: him all my timeline. He was entertaining why I say
- 39:11Speaker 1: this about six ' nine. Well, in general, what you
- 39:13Speaker 1: just said, the outlander shit only lasts so long. Oh,
- 39:16Speaker 1: of course, it's no longevity in that. But at least
- 39:21Speaker 1: six ' nine, who was pretty much mastered the Internet
- 39:26Speaker 1: at the time, at least he had some good records.
- 39:29Speaker 1: He did, he had some records that didn't suck. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:32Speaker 1: I mean, Gamo was a joint in the club, Yeah, bangers.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Even the Nikki record was fire like that. Uh what
- 39:39Speaker 1: was that shit called Kiki Kiki whatever? The fuck? Y'all know,
- 39:42Speaker 1: he'd be having all these fucking weird ass song games.
- 39:45Speaker 1: But at least he had some records to kind of
- 39:47Speaker 1: back it up. Yeah, but because it wouldn't have worked
- 39:50Speaker 1: if he didn't, he's I mean, it would have worked
- 39:52Speaker 1: momentarily super a lot more gimmicky though. Yeah, it would
- 39:56Speaker 1: have worked in the sense of like Little Pump works,
- 39:58Speaker 1: you know, and I guess they probably had similar careers.
- 40:02Speaker 1: And by the way, for the second time, and uh,
- 40:05Speaker 1: fuck Little Pump he put my number up on his
- 40:06Speaker 1: fucking story. Fuck him, damn because I was it because
- 40:11Speaker 1: the J cole thing. Yes, you saw that right? Yeah.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Oh by the way, I love J cole Man, Jacob No, No,
- 40:16Speaker 1: so me and Pump we're cool. Like I've always defended
- 40:18Speaker 1: him throughout the years. Yeah, a fucking solid question. Ask.
- 40:20Speaker 1: I figured this kid might have been humbled from the
- 40:23Speaker 1: last few years. Let's have like a conversation in which
- 40:28Speaker 1: he can actually kind of seem like a dude and
- 40:30Speaker 1: not like a fucking clout robot. You know that was wrong? Yeah,
- 40:36Speaker 1: hey man, some but sometimes I on that kind of subject,
- 40:40Speaker 1: like some people don't want to kind of admitt kind
- 40:43Speaker 1: of like where they're at. You know, well, dude, like
- 40:46Speaker 1: that's the thing is, like you don't really participate in
- 40:48Speaker 1: a lot of that, and you're you have a track
- 40:50Speaker 1: record of like like, dude, you've made more money off
- 40:54Speaker 1: of rap music than ninety percent of your peers and
- 40:57Speaker 1: it's not even close. Fuck, these motherfuckers aren't getting woralty check.
- 41:01Speaker 1: It don't seem like it though. No, but they're not
- 41:03Speaker 1: getting royalty checks. Nobody's getting royalty checks. They're fucking getting
- 41:07Speaker 1: their advance and then they're parlaying that into show money
- 41:11Speaker 1: or whatever the fuck, but motherfuckers ain't getting woralty checks, right,
- 41:16Speaker 1: like Meek Mill. I think he just said his whole
- 41:19Speaker 1: career on Atlantic. I think he said, yeah, I've seen that.
- 41:21Speaker 1: It was like a wildly low amount of money for
- 41:24Speaker 1: as many records, like a million dollars or something something crazy.
- 41:27Speaker 1: I said. He asked how much Going Bad made at
- 41:31Speaker 1: like twenty five million. He's like, how much did I
- 41:33Speaker 1: make off that song? No one told him anything. I'm like, man,
- 41:36Speaker 1: so that's the problem, though, Like, that's those are the
- 41:39Speaker 1: that's label issues, right, but stay away. But this is
- 41:42Speaker 1: the thing, right, Like it's a gamble because you could
- 41:46Speaker 1: also be the guy who's independent who well, you could
- 41:49Speaker 1: be the guy who really ain't who you're. You might
- 41:52Speaker 1: be a flash in the pan and someone offers you
- 41:54Speaker 1: a two million dollar deal. Yeah you better take that. Hey,
- 41:58Speaker 1: what up, y'all? We gotta stop the interview real quick
- 42:00Speaker 1: to tell you about our folks at Hardan Las Vegas.
- 42:03Speaker 1: You see them right there, you know what I mean.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Shout the hard Dean man. Shout out to everybody over there.
- 42:06Speaker 1: It's the ills dispensary in the world, Number one. They
- 42:09Speaker 1: got the craziest selection of weed you'll ever go to.
- 42:12Speaker 1: When you're in Las Vegas, there's only one place to go.
- 42:14Speaker 1: That's Hardian. You pull up, you say, hey, I heard
- 42:16Speaker 1: about this place on the boutleg Cap podcast and they're
- 42:18Speaker 1: gonna get you hooked up with some fucking weed, all right,
- 42:20Speaker 1: So go to hard Dean Las Vegas right now. If
- 42:24Speaker 1: you're in the city of a sin or you're going,
- 42:26Speaker 1: make sure you, you know, put put together a little
- 42:29Speaker 1: hour off to the side to make sure you go
- 42:31Speaker 1: get your nice fucking hardying bag full of just the
- 42:34Speaker 1: premium weed, all right. And not only that, you got
- 42:36Speaker 1: to shoot them a follow Hardening Underscore Las Vegas. I'm
- 42:39Speaker 1: gonna shoot them out though, because Harding smells the best.
- 42:43Speaker 1: The dispensary is just it's not only the best dispensary
- 42:45Speaker 1: in the world, it's the best smelling dispensary in the world.
- 42:47Speaker 1: And look now the bootleg Cat podcast smells like Hardien
- 42:50Speaker 1: because I have the Harden signature scent candle. You could
- 42:53Speaker 1: have one too. You could go to fucking Harding Las Vegas.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Just saying, also make sure you follow them online and
- 43:00Speaker 1: hard Dean Underscore Las Vegas. That is important. You have
- 43:05Speaker 1: to follow them because there's some bullshit accounts out there.
- 43:07Speaker 1: We appreciate Hard Dean. When you're in Vegas. Pull up,
- 43:10Speaker 1: go get you some smoke, get you some edibles, Go
- 43:13Speaker 1: get you some fucking carts. Whatever it is, they got it,
- 43:16Speaker 1: and they got it at the highest quality. It's the
- 43:17Speaker 1: only place I'm smoking from. That's Hard Dean lost Vegas.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Let's get back to the interview exactly. And that's how
- 43:23Speaker 1: people think sometimes. I think Bettle Pump did that. He
- 43:26Speaker 1: got a bag, and good for him. You gotta bet
- 43:28Speaker 1: on yourself. And when you're an artist and if it
- 43:31Speaker 1: happens quick, then I get it. But if you're if
- 43:33Speaker 1: you're building up and building up and building up and
- 43:35Speaker 1: you see it's working for you and you have a
- 43:37Speaker 1: shot and this shit, bet on yourself, man, gamble on
- 43:40Speaker 1: yourself and fucking don't take that quick money that you know,
- 43:45Speaker 1: instant gratification, build it up, keep going. It might take
- 43:49Speaker 1: five years, but where you're gonna be like like rest
- 43:52Speaker 1: these days, who like kind of like pamped the label
- 43:55Speaker 1: for two albums and then got the fuck out and
- 43:57Speaker 1: stillings his masters and now he's you know, like he
- 43:59Speaker 1: just ops a song every week or every two weeks.
- 44:01Speaker 1: It's like you just do what you want, you feed
- 44:04Speaker 1: your fans. Yeah, and that's a that's another thing. But
- 44:08Speaker 1: it's also aside from the label thing, it's not following
- 44:11Speaker 1: the trends, you know. And I don't think I don't
- 44:13Speaker 1: think he followed like super trendy, like what was going
- 44:17Speaker 1: on in the music when like when Pump was hot,
- 44:19Speaker 1: Like you know, there was a lot of people trying
- 44:21Speaker 1: to do that, you know, coloring their dreads doing all that.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Pump was like, he's like the he's like the Cloud era,
- 44:27Speaker 1: like mascot for sure, But everybody followed his whole fucking
- 44:30Speaker 1: those three years or every four years we given like
- 44:33Speaker 1: six nine low. He followed a lot of like the
- 44:35Speaker 1: Pump ship even like oh yeah, I mean, I mean
- 44:38Speaker 1: fucking shock, you know what I'm saying. Shot shot, Yeah, value,
- 44:41Speaker 1: there was the fuck I'm not even gonna say to
- 44:44Speaker 1: do his name because I was dming with him Chief.
- 44:47Speaker 1: He set the tone for a lot of ship too.
- 44:48Speaker 1: There's there's there's a bunch of people, the Clone guy,
- 44:51Speaker 1: what's his fucking name? I was just dming with him
- 44:53Speaker 1: because he's mad that I forgot his fucking name. Clone
- 44:56Speaker 1: kid Boo, kid Boo, Yeah, shots kid Boo. I'm having
- 44:59Speaker 1: on the pop. I guess we're gonna a really honest
- 45:00Speaker 1: conversation about his whole fucking thing. But that was, like, yeah,
- 45:06Speaker 1: an egregious era of music. Oh, it was all it was.
- 45:11Speaker 1: I think they call it the SoundCloud era. SoundCloud. I
- 45:14Speaker 1: want to say Supreme pat everything was Supreme Patty got
- 45:18Speaker 1: a record deal. I think he did know Supreme Patty.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Supreme Patty the lemon juice in his eyes got put
- 45:26Speaker 1: out a record that was produced by Scott storchro Wow,
- 45:28Speaker 1: shout out Scott, that's my guy. Get the bag. Yeah,
- 45:31Speaker 1: but I'm pretty sure somebody gave him a deal. I
- 45:34Speaker 1: don't want to speculate on which company it was, but
- 45:37Speaker 1: let's just say it's a number. The company is named
- 45:42Speaker 1: after a number. I'm pretty sure they gave him a bag.
- 45:44Speaker 1: I might be wrong, but the fact that and Supreme
- 45:47Speaker 1: Patty is a nice kid. But the fact those kind
- 45:49Speaker 1: of people are getting record deals in the cloud era,
- 45:51Speaker 1: let me let me let me say this man, the industry,
- 45:54Speaker 1: these labels, it's it's like at first, it was like embarrassing,
- 45:58Speaker 1: but they tried to hide it. Now they just don't
- 46:00Speaker 1: have any pride, Like they're like, fuck it, we're already embarrassed.
- 46:03Speaker 1: They just did the fake crypto rapper. Yeah, they're like,
- 46:06Speaker 1: we're already fucking losing. We're just gonna fucking go all out.
- 46:09Speaker 1: You know how when someone just gets super desperate to
- 46:11Speaker 1: fucking just start doing ship and they're fucking you're just like, dude,
- 46:14Speaker 1: you don't have no fucking shame. I feel like right now,
- 46:17Speaker 1: that's where we're at with fucking labels. They're just like, Oh,
- 46:19Speaker 1: he has a fucking hot TikTok five second slippe, like
- 46:22Speaker 1: we need him, we need him. It's just it's embarrassing
- 46:25Speaker 1: that fake AI rapper that Capital signed and then dropped
- 46:29Speaker 1: within five days because of the outrage. What was the
- 46:32Speaker 1: name of that fucking you know what I'm talking about?
- 46:36Speaker 1: There was like this meta rapper who was like a
- 46:41Speaker 1: oh my bad, so what I'm but it was like
- 46:44Speaker 1: a fake rapper right that they made on the metaverse
- 46:47Speaker 1: and fn Mecca right, so that dude, well, it's not
- 46:51Speaker 1: a dude. It's a fucking like an avatar that was
- 46:55Speaker 1: like saying the N word in its music and like
- 46:58Speaker 1: I never heard it. I'm I'm surprised I never heard
- 46:59Speaker 1: of bro. It was all over the place for about
- 47:01Speaker 1: two weeks, but so so Capital announced that they signed
- 47:06Speaker 1: the first ever AI rapper, right. But then once you
- 47:10Speaker 1: dive into it, you're like, oh, this is just kind
- 47:13Speaker 1: of like a lot of black stereotypes. And the people
- 47:16Speaker 1: behind it, from what I understand, you would know more
- 47:18Speaker 1: than me because she worked with I'm not sure that
- 47:21Speaker 1: the person who created it was black. Am I tripping
- 47:25Speaker 1: the guy behind the exactly right, right, So it was
- 47:34Speaker 1: almost like the Milli Vanilli thing, but with like a cartoon, right,
- 47:38Speaker 1: and it was just like it was the cringiest ship
- 47:41Speaker 1: I seen what I think. What I think is labels
- 47:44Speaker 1: and all these things they want like instant gratification kind
- 47:47Speaker 1: of thing, like they don't value longevity anymore. They don't
- 47:50Speaker 1: value good music or just artist development, yeah, or artists development.
- 47:54Speaker 1: But then I get it, because so much shit's going on,
- 47:56Speaker 1: they just want to grab, you know, grab whatever's coming
- 47:59Speaker 1: to the numbers game. Man, I'll sign a fifty acts
- 48:01Speaker 1: and hope one of them becomes a weekend Yeah, But
- 48:03Speaker 1: the independent artists like me and and you know all
- 48:05Speaker 1: these other artists that are doing it. The right way.
- 48:07Speaker 1: We're we're playing the real numbers game. We're trying to
- 48:09Speaker 1: make We're trying to be here for twenty years. What's
- 48:11Speaker 1: your distro is? Are you doing like distro caunidation? Oh
- 48:14Speaker 1: you do for Shout out my guy Lee. Yeah, shout
- 48:16Speaker 1: out Lee Lee. When I was when I was on
- 48:18Speaker 1: when I was on Warner, Lee was the radio guy
- 48:21Speaker 1: at Warner, of course he was. Yeah, shouts to Lee.
- 48:24Speaker 1: He just announced today he's got he's got a big,
- 48:25Speaker 1: big thing coming. Shout out to my guy Lee. What
- 48:27Speaker 1: is he doing? What is he doing? He just left?
- 48:30Speaker 1: Oh wow, he announced that today. So he's going to Uh, well,
- 48:32Speaker 1: I can't say he's going. Yeah, my distribution Foundation is done.
- 48:36Speaker 1: I want to say more for me than any well
- 48:40Speaker 1: then Warner than you know, and Warner had my masters
- 48:44Speaker 1: and now I'm just doing Lease great guy man. Yeah.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Foundation is a great company. Yeah, amazing. And the one
- 48:49Speaker 1: thing about Foundations, you could just call Lee and be like, Ao,
- 48:53Speaker 1: what I'm trying to drop some ship tomorrow, and who's good.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Let me call the stories. We'll figure it out. Yeah,
- 48:59Speaker 1: let's do it. Shout out to Hey, that's dope. I
- 49:01Speaker 1: didn't know you were on the Foundation. That makes sense though. Yeah,
- 49:03Speaker 1: I've been with them for about two years. I did
- 49:04Speaker 1: my last project with them too, it makes sense, and
- 49:08Speaker 1: that last project was did Numbers Bro. You were on
- 49:11Speaker 1: hell A Playlist and that's in Foundation helped with that.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Feel like a couple of years ago you were. I
- 49:16Speaker 1: felt like I was like Forest kind of hanging out
- 49:19Speaker 1: with some of these industrydutions a little. I gotta try
- 49:22Speaker 1: to pull them back in a little bit. Yeah, yeah,
- 49:25Speaker 1: I almost got pulled back into I was like, oh,
- 49:30Speaker 1: there were certain people mentioning you to me that. I
- 49:32Speaker 1: was like, yeah, you like seven figure deals on the table.
- 49:37Speaker 1: I bet you did. I might need this right now,
- 49:40Speaker 1: like I bet you did. But when it comes to
- 49:42Speaker 1: building catalog, you gotta really, you gotta you got to
- 49:45Speaker 1: bite the bullet and think long term, right, you know,
- 49:48Speaker 1: especially for me. For me, if I if I only
- 49:51Speaker 1: made music for two years and I have a seven
- 49:52Speaker 1: figure deal on the table, I'm like, let me take it,
- 49:55Speaker 1: you know. But now I'm kind of like, man, I've
- 49:57Speaker 1: had this seven figure deal to that include your independent catalog. No, okay,
- 50:02Speaker 1: well then that's that's different because you know a lot
- 50:03Speaker 1: of that's what they're doing now. They're like, we want
- 50:04Speaker 1: to roll up your whole ship. Everyone wants catalogs now,
- 50:07Speaker 1: everyone for sure. But but yeah, I was like, I
- 50:10Speaker 1: have songs that are already making second seven figures. I
- 50:13Speaker 1: have songs that are you know, not albums, just singles
- 50:16Speaker 1: that already did seven figures. Like I just need to
- 50:19Speaker 1: push another one or two of those out. I don't
- 50:21Speaker 1: need to sign for four albums, sign for three albums
- 50:24Speaker 1: with you for saying like you have like a lot
- 50:26Speaker 1: of dude, I mean fucking you got songs with people
- 50:31Speaker 1: that the fact that you were able to have a
- 50:34Speaker 1: Kailani and Janet feature on an independent project and like,
- 50:37Speaker 1: you know, that's a big deal man. That says a
- 50:39Speaker 1: lot about your relationships that you built over the years. Yeah,
- 50:42Speaker 1: and it takes, it takes grind, it takes hard working,
- 50:44Speaker 1: especially artists of that statue. Well, those are also the
- 50:47Speaker 1: type of artists that have high artistic integrities going to
- 50:51Speaker 1: don't want to work with someone and you can make
- 50:53Speaker 1: the greatest music, but they don't want to work with
- 50:55Speaker 1: you if you have any you know, they also like
- 51:00Speaker 1: art the time. I'm assuming like you just can't pay
- 51:02Speaker 1: for like features from some of these artists oh no,
- 51:05Speaker 1: you know, they gotta love this song, got to be great.
- 51:09Speaker 1: It has to be something that's like, yeah, I'm gonna
- 51:12Speaker 1: do it. And most of the time, you know, those
- 51:14Speaker 1: are artists that will really just get in there and
- 51:16Speaker 1: just do it and create because they love music. It's
- 51:18Speaker 1: way I'm in. It's weird because I'm in both industries.
- 51:21Speaker 1: You know, I'm in the R and B and I'm
- 51:23Speaker 1: in the rap, and I see the difference. I feel
- 51:25Speaker 1: like the R and B side they really appreciate music
- 51:29Speaker 1: a lot more and they're less of like trying to
- 51:30Speaker 1: bang out a bunch of songs and just get in
- 51:32Speaker 1: the studio and I'll put the shit out. There's a
- 51:35Speaker 1: lot more integrity behind it, you know. In the rap world,
- 51:38Speaker 1: it's a little more aggressive, like fuck it, We'll just
- 51:42Speaker 1: do this shit. It's a lot it's a lot more
- 51:44Speaker 1: like fake and toxic and twisted for sure. Well, I mean,
- 51:48Speaker 1: like I think like you. I mean, nowadays, you know,
- 51:53Speaker 1: guys like Road Waiver considered hip hop. I mean I'm sure,
- 51:56Speaker 1: like sure he's got like you know, but it's like
- 51:59Speaker 1: you guys are and be hippy. You guys are really
- 52:00Speaker 1: just doing like kind of like your own thing, Like
- 52:03Speaker 1: you know, it's almost like when like people would consider
- 52:05Speaker 1: post Malone a rapper, I'd get like sick when I
- 52:07Speaker 1: would hear that out loud. I'm like, he's just an artist. Yeah,
- 52:09Speaker 1: he's an artist, dude, Like you're one of the to me,
- 52:12Speaker 1: you're an artist, like you could rap, you could do
- 52:15Speaker 1: this seeing melodic ship, but you're like an artist. Yeah
- 52:18Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So but you know, but
- 52:21Speaker 1: there's those worlds like rap world, where it's like like
- 52:24Speaker 1: these are rappers, Like Doja Cat is a rapper technically
- 52:27Speaker 1: she raps. She's also like too though, yeah she's a
- 52:30Speaker 1: pop star bro like she's a fucking yeah. When I
- 52:33Speaker 1: see like, yo, she's the hardest female rapper, I'm like,
- 52:36Speaker 1: but then you'll get really look at her in that lens. Yeah. Yeah,
- 52:39Speaker 1: But you'll get into those industries where it's like this
- 52:41Speaker 1: is this is R and B. This is like these
- 52:44Speaker 1: people are the most R and B you could get,
- 52:46Speaker 1: Like you know that R and B shit is firing.
- 52:48Speaker 1: I think R and b's have like a dope like
- 52:50Speaker 1: four or five year run of kind of coming back
- 52:52Speaker 1: and yeah, the soul music side of ships, like uh yeah,
- 52:57Speaker 1: there's just been some great R and B shit getting made.
- 52:59Speaker 1: It's like like Underground but not underground. Yeah right, it's
- 53:02Speaker 1: like shots like Selection Radio and Apple and shit. They
- 53:05Speaker 1: did a good job of kind of like pushing that line.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Yeah for sure. Hey, we got to stop the interview
- 53:12Speaker 1: to tell you about our family at odds Socks. That's right,

- 55:05Speaker 1: So the album is out, not a lot of features you,
- 55:09Speaker 1: No Sky and garyn Yeah, Garan Sky my girl she
- 55:14Speaker 1: did amazing. That's your girl, that's her girl. Yeah, just
- 55:17Speaker 1: in the studio vibing or artists first, did you like
- 55:22Speaker 1: say hey try this? Yeah? No, she she she showed
- 55:24Speaker 1: me stuff like when we met. She showed me, like,
- 55:26Speaker 1: you know, singing stuff, and I was like, wow, like
- 55:28Speaker 1: you're really good. She's like like I just did a
- 55:31Speaker 1: fun type thing. I'm like, but you know, just get
- 55:34Speaker 1: drunk in the studio and just vibe and have a
- 55:35Speaker 1: good time and whatever happens, whatever we create and feel
- 55:39Speaker 1: good about. We just kind of put together like that.
- 55:41Speaker 1: But yeah, she's she's amazing and talented, and yeah, I
- 55:46Speaker 1: don't want to make it work. Man, if you put
- 55:48Speaker 1: her on your album, I know, right, that's what One
- 55:51Speaker 1: of the songs with her goes like double platinum, right,
- 55:54Speaker 1: and then you have to perform it and you guys
- 55:56Speaker 1: break up. Like, I feel so bad for our good
- 55:58Speaker 1: friend Gezy because I me, man, that's my god, not
- 56:01Speaker 1: me myself, and I the fucking him and I and
- 56:04Speaker 1: that record is a smash. He has to perform the song,
- 56:06Speaker 1: but it's him and his axe talking about each other.
- 56:08Speaker 1: But you know record, I think, I think, and this
- 56:11Speaker 1: is kind of how I see it too, like like
- 56:13Speaker 1: once again, like whatever happens happens, and life can lead
- 56:16Speaker 1: you in a million different ways. But I've seen him.
- 56:19Speaker 1: I've seen him perform it without her after the whole
- 56:22Speaker 1: thing too. And and I think, you know, as when
- 56:25Speaker 1: you grow, when you get older as adults, you kind
- 56:27Speaker 1: of just accept certain things and you realize, like, you
- 56:30Speaker 1: know what, this was a beautiful thing at the time.
- 56:32Speaker 1: This was a beautiful moment at the time, and I'm
- 56:34Speaker 1: still going to respect that instead of letting that eat
- 56:37Speaker 1: away at me or become bitter about it. What was
- 56:40Speaker 1: it like touring with him? Oh, man maniac ship Right, Yeah,
- 56:46Speaker 1: let's let's just say it was fun. They set up
- 56:48Speaker 1: like the little pre party and after party, little section
- 56:51Speaker 1: still house. Yeah, Vibes. Trippy was on that tour too
- 56:54Speaker 1: with us Me Me Gazy and Trippy. Yeah, We're had
- 56:58Speaker 1: it a lot of real debauch. Yeah, yeah, I think
- 57:02Speaker 1: I might have signed a contract. I cannot say. I
- 57:04Speaker 1: can't say anything. I didn't sign ship, but some of
- 57:07Speaker 1: the fast nights of my life for that crazy white man. Yeah,
- 57:10Speaker 1: it was fun. Man. Jeez is an amazing dude. Man,
- 57:13Speaker 1: Tippy has fucking seen a lot of success bringing that
- 57:15Speaker 1: fucking Cinnamon Apple, fucking Still House House and the Mint Stillhouse.
- 57:21Speaker 1: By the way, he's not with Steel House anymore from
- 57:23Speaker 1: what I hear from what he told me actually, so
- 57:26Speaker 1: uh yeah, Well look, man, I appreciate you pulling up
- 57:29Speaker 1: Go Sport the new album Butterfly Effect. It's out, yes, sir,
- 57:31Speaker 1: more than music on the way anything else. Is the
- 57:33Speaker 1: clothing line still booming obviously, Yeah, man, we're re rebranding
- 57:37Speaker 1: the clothing line. I had some I just had some
- 57:41Speaker 1: internal kind of things, conflicts and stuff like that where
- 57:43Speaker 1: I had with you know, people I trusted and people
- 57:46Speaker 1: that didn't really you know, suit what I was going
- 57:51Speaker 1: through and you know, my views on things. But I
- 57:56Speaker 1: stepped I had to step in and kind of control
- 57:59Speaker 1: everything and rebuild it the way I wanted it to be.
- 58:03Speaker 1: But just so much shit. I spent so much time
- 58:06Speaker 1: on the brand, and I think, uh yeah, just bringing
- 58:12Speaker 1: in people that you know, weren't really good for me
- 58:15Speaker 1: or whatever, and you know, being able to trust people.
- 58:18Speaker 1: I trusted people that maybe I shouldn't have or put
- 58:20Speaker 1: too much trust into people. I'm gonna be honest, bro,
- 58:22Speaker 1: I've met two or three random dudes that they were
- 58:25Speaker 1: your manager of the last like three years for sure,
- 58:28Speaker 1: and I'm like, I don't know, I don't know if
- 58:31Speaker 1: I'm the problem. I don't know if like very random dudes, yeah,
- 58:36Speaker 1: R'd be like, oh yeah, that's the homie hit me yeah,
- 58:39Speaker 1: and then I give them my number and then they
- 58:41Speaker 1: just keep hitting me on some like hey, yo, it's
- 58:44Speaker 1: for as manager. And I'm like, bro, the industry, I mean,
- 58:48Speaker 1: you know, but it's it's crazy. You just got to
- 58:50Speaker 1: be careful. We keep around you, bro, right. And I'm
- 58:53Speaker 1: learning that because I usually because I move with good
- 58:55Speaker 1: intentions and I expect the same of others and I
- 58:58Speaker 1: think the same of others. But it's not always like that.
- 59:02Speaker 1: You know how many people have like for or Yours
- 59:04Speaker 1: Truly tattoos? Too many? We're looking at pictures the other
- 59:08Speaker 1: day it's straight like my face, you know, my whole
- 59:12Speaker 1: like from Upper Torso just tattooed, Like it's crazy. It's crazy.
- 59:16Speaker 1: The Yours Truly logo too, like it's it's insane, man.
- 59:20Speaker 1: Every time I see it. If someone gets your face
- 59:23Speaker 1: tattooed on them, is there a benefit that comes? That's
- 59:30Speaker 1: that's a good question. I mean, you're not a direct benefit,
- 59:32Speaker 1: but if I see it, I'm just like, I'm gonna
- 59:34Speaker 1: remember them forever, right, you know, if I like to
- 59:38Speaker 1: get into the show, not like that. If you know,
- 59:42Speaker 1: and even people that don't have you know, my face
- 59:45Speaker 1: or my name tattooed, like I connect with my fans
- 59:48Speaker 1: group chats, you know, Instagram. If someone's like, yo, I
- 59:53Speaker 1: got your name tattooed. Me and my sister and me
- 59:54Speaker 1: and my cousin want to get in, Like, I'm like, yo,
- 59:56Speaker 1: I'll put you on the guest list easier. I want
- 59:58Speaker 1: everyone at my shows. I don't. I'm not like, oh,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: fucking you have to pay the fifteen. If it gets
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: out of hand and you end up like you know,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: like Tech nine and Strange Music, where like all their
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: fans have like some sort of tattoo, You're not fucking
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: making any money on the road. But that's where you
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: want to get man, because it's not about ticket sales
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: or album sales. It's about people. You want to touch
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: the people yeah, and that someone tattooed forever. You know,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: they're they're a fan of you forever, you know. Yeah,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: I've seen that work the bad way too, with ICP tattoos.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the hatchet Man. Yeah, they're crazy. Yeah, Juggalo
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Juggolo vibes. Yeah, there's like fifty year old dudes teaching
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: fucking seventh grade that were ex Juggalos. Nice and they'll
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: never be able to get rid of it. I have
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: you've been to the Gathering of the Juggalos. I actually was.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: I've never been, but they tried to book me to
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: do something there in like twenty fifteen, and I was like,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: once you go Juggalo, you never go. Yeah, I want
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: to go. I would love to. I think they get
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: a I think they get a bad, bad rap because
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: I think they're really like good people. I've seen a
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: lot of like videos and stuff on like Gathering of
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: the Juggalos, and they're really their whole model and their
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: whole thing is like family for sure, you know. And
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I love that it's like a cult kind of thing.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: And it looks fun. Yeah, it looks like white Latino.
