00:00:24,800 --> 00:00:26,440 Welcome to your Sunday night to main event. 9 00:00:26,440 --> 00:00:29,560 Recap and review edition of Has. 10 00:00:29,560 --> 00:00:31,560 R2, we're... 11 00:00:31,560 --> 00:00:33,320 I am one half the show. 12 00:00:33,320 --> 00:00:38,120 I am Jeff Beck, joined every single week for those of the only Dutch trait Franklin. 13 00:00:38,120 --> 00:00:43,320 Dr. Trey, there was a lot of times where I had to pick lump in my throat. 14 00:00:43,320 --> 00:00:46,320 This Wednesday watching AW Dynamite, my friend. 15 00:00:46,320 --> 00:00:47,320 Oh, okay. 16 00:00:47,320 --> 00:00:49,320 I was waiting. 17 00:00:49,320 --> 00:00:51,920 I had to wait for the line to finish there. 18 00:00:51,920 --> 00:00:53,680 I'm like a big lump in your throat. 19 00:00:53,680 --> 00:00:55,040 Like where are you going with this? 20 00:00:55,040 --> 00:00:56,440 I didn't know if... 21 00:00:56,440 --> 00:00:59,320 I know Aaron Judge just came back this week. 22 00:00:59,320 --> 00:01:02,840 I don't know where maybe Nerman's that he might get re-injured. 23 00:01:02,840 --> 00:01:05,360 The Packers are kicking off Sunday. 24 00:01:05,360 --> 00:01:08,120 I went to every other thing other than AW. 25 00:01:08,120 --> 00:01:10,120 I was trying to think of every other... 26 00:01:10,120 --> 00:01:14,400 Were you really worried about how Cody Rhodes felt after getting low blowed? 27 00:01:14,400 --> 00:01:16,240 A Pharaoh passing away? 28 00:01:16,240 --> 00:01:20,000 I didn't know where you were going, but at least you said AW Dynamite. 29 00:01:20,000 --> 00:01:22,320 So then I kind of got your frame of reference. 30 00:01:22,320 --> 00:01:23,320 No, yes, certainly. 31 00:01:23,320 --> 00:01:28,040 It was an emotional week for a professional wrestling in more ways than one. 32 00:01:28,040 --> 00:01:31,120 Yeah, there were some beautiful moments. 33 00:01:31,120 --> 00:01:34,080 There was some incredibly sad moments. 34 00:01:34,080 --> 00:01:36,440 I just was reminded about Pharaoh there. 35 00:01:36,440 --> 00:01:41,120 I mean, anybody Dr. Trey and I, Dr. Trey, just went through this himself. 36 00:01:41,120 --> 00:01:44,800 We got to find a way to keep dogs around a lot, lot longer. 37 00:01:44,800 --> 00:01:46,360 That is just my... 38 00:01:46,360 --> 00:01:49,960 And keep good people around a lot longer. 39 00:01:49,960 --> 00:01:54,280 That is something that I've learned this week, especially in the World of Professional Wrestling, 40 00:01:54,280 --> 00:01:57,360 which we will get into here in just a little bit. 41 00:01:57,360 --> 00:02:02,960 No easier way to segue Dr. Trey, but to get into the start of the show here Sunday nights 42 00:02:02,960 --> 00:02:09,080 main event, recap and review this past Sunday from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta GA on the 43 00:02:09,080 --> 00:02:13,680 countdown show you a Dominic Busterated Feeding Joe Hendry in an on title match, Little Yachty 44 00:02:13,680 --> 00:02:18,960 defeated Barrett Corbin in a survive in advance match, Little Yachty lasted five minutes, earned 45 00:02:18,960 --> 00:02:23,400 Trick Williams United States Championship match, Trick Williams defeated Barrett Corbin, 46 00:02:23,400 --> 00:02:28,360 Trick Williams wins the United States Championship, Oba Femi defeated Bronn, Reykjavid disqualification 47 00:02:28,360 --> 00:02:33,200 after Bronson Marine return and attacked Oba Femi, Jade Cardgill, Meachin and B-Fab defeated 48 00:02:33,200 --> 00:02:37,320 Charles Flare, Alexa Blissett, Tate of Paxley, and a six-woman tag team match, and Randy Orton 49 00:02:37,320 --> 00:02:39,680 defeated Cody Rhodes. 50 00:02:39,680 --> 00:02:45,160 Before we dig really deep into the show, Dr. Trey, some quick thoughts here on the results. 51 00:02:45,160 --> 00:02:47,760 For me, I thought the Trick Williams Barrett Corbin match. 52 00:02:47,760 --> 00:02:50,800 I feel like I say this every time now with Trick Williams. 53 00:02:50,800 --> 00:02:52,520 This was one of the best matches I've seen for him. 54 00:02:52,520 --> 00:02:54,880 I really enjoyed that match. 55 00:02:54,880 --> 00:02:56,200 Overall, I enjoyed the show. 56 00:02:56,200 --> 00:03:00,760 I thought it was a very solid show on a Sunday night for Labor Day weekend, but for me 57 00:03:00,760 --> 00:03:03,600 that Trick Williams Barrett Corbin match really stood out to me. 58 00:03:03,600 --> 00:03:07,400 What were some of your thoughts and takeaways before we start breaking this down a little 59 00:03:07,400 --> 00:03:08,400 bit more? 60 00:03:08,400 --> 00:03:11,320 Yeah, that match was really good. 61 00:03:11,320 --> 00:03:15,480 I still think that sometimes people forget how good Baron Corbin is, how good Baron 62 00:03:15,480 --> 00:03:17,720 Corbin can make his opponents look. 63 00:03:17,720 --> 00:03:22,160 I think Trick's progressed a lot, but then being in the ring with a guy like Corbin is 64 00:03:22,160 --> 00:03:28,800 one of the best big man workers I've seen in my 40 years of wrestling fandom. 65 00:03:28,800 --> 00:03:29,800 It is really good. 66 00:03:29,800 --> 00:03:33,320 The guy can actually make anybody look like a star. 67 00:03:33,320 --> 00:03:37,240 I thought overall the show was really, really well done and really, really good. 68 00:03:37,240 --> 00:03:40,880 There was some things where I'm like, I don't really understand why they went this way 69 00:03:40,880 --> 00:03:46,920 with the result of said match, but overall, I was really entertained the entire show. 70 00:03:46,920 --> 00:03:51,600 I'll give them that, but there's a couple things in there that I'm like, I don't really get 71 00:03:51,600 --> 00:03:55,840 why you went this route with the victor on a couple matches. 72 00:03:55,840 --> 00:03:59,200 Well, this is going to be interesting now because I think that maybe some of this will 73 00:03:59,200 --> 00:04:00,800 come up right now. 74 00:04:00,800 --> 00:04:05,400 So we spent the last few weeks asking whether WWE was rushing Oba Family versus Bronfraker. 75 00:04:05,400 --> 00:04:09,280 WWE gave us the match, but that didn't really give us an answer. 76 00:04:09,280 --> 00:04:13,840 Oba won by disqualification after Bronson Reed made his return, attacked Oba and helped 77 00:04:13,840 --> 00:04:16,200 division leaving him lane. 78 00:04:16,200 --> 00:04:20,200 I understand why WWE protected both guys, but if you're selling this is a battle for WWE's 79 00:04:20,200 --> 00:04:21,200 future. 80 00:04:21,200 --> 00:04:25,800 A DQ in their first match is always going to feel like a T's rather than a conclusion. 81 00:04:25,800 --> 00:04:29,920 So about the finish, the good news is WWE clearly sees more mileage in this rivalry. 82 00:04:29,920 --> 00:04:31,320 Neither guy had to take a pin. 83 00:04:31,320 --> 00:04:35,160 Bronson Reed immediately felt in port again and the vision came out of the weekend looking 84 00:04:35,160 --> 00:04:38,200 dangerous and I carried over into Monday's RAW. 85 00:04:38,200 --> 00:04:42,080 The downside is that we waited to finally see Oba and Bronf collide and the first match ended 86 00:04:42,080 --> 00:04:46,080 with the exact type of non-finish we were worried about. 87 00:04:46,080 --> 00:04:49,960 So my question for you, Dr. Trey, was the disqualification the right way to protect Oba 88 00:04:49,960 --> 00:04:55,280 family and Bronfraker or did WWE waste the first meeting by refusing to give us a real finish? 89 00:04:55,280 --> 00:05:00,280 >> Yeah, I think they played it safe with the DQ finish and you and I talked to, like 90 00:05:00,280 --> 00:05:02,240 you said, we talked about this. 91 00:05:02,240 --> 00:05:06,840 If you're going to do the Bronson Reed beat down, then at least give Bronfraker the win. 92 00:05:06,840 --> 00:05:13,160 You can still do some kind of crappy thing, break or get a win and then they still do the 93 00:05:13,160 --> 00:05:14,160 beat down spot. 94 00:05:14,160 --> 00:05:16,960 And then it gets Oba over as being sympathetic. 95 00:05:16,960 --> 00:05:19,280 Like okay, he can't do everything on his own. 96 00:05:19,280 --> 00:05:25,000 One guy against five is wipe the obstacle to overcome and then you can still go through 97 00:05:25,000 --> 00:05:26,800 this now with Oba and Bronf. 98 00:05:26,800 --> 00:05:31,960 You can have Oba run through the vision to get back to Bronfraker. 99 00:05:31,960 --> 00:05:36,480 Doing the DQ finish is there's a safe way of protecting everybody involved. 100 00:05:36,480 --> 00:05:42,480 But I don't think it did any favors for Bronfraker because you have Bronson Reed doing most 101 00:05:42,480 --> 00:05:47,040 of the squashing of Oba Femi, not Bronfraker. 102 00:05:47,040 --> 00:05:52,840 So I don't think it made Bronson look great, but I don't think it did any favors for Bronfraker 103 00:05:52,840 --> 00:05:55,960 in having a DQ victory here, like our DQ loss. 104 00:05:55,960 --> 00:06:00,520 I think you give Braker the win and then let Oba come back later on. 105 00:06:00,520 --> 00:06:06,000 >> WWE does this thing nowadays where they're just super protective of a lot of wrestlers 106 00:06:06,000 --> 00:06:09,640 where I feel like they become, and this is just wrestling as whole, it becomes very, 107 00:06:09,640 --> 00:06:11,560 very, very predictable. 108 00:06:11,560 --> 00:06:17,200 And I think it's a more WWE than it is in AW because I don't think AW has anyone that they've 109 00:06:17,200 --> 00:06:20,520 built like a Roman reigns at Oba Femi, a Bronfraker. 110 00:06:20,520 --> 00:06:23,200 They don't have that dominant monster like WWE does. 111 00:06:23,200 --> 00:06:28,640 And that is not necessarily a good thing for professional wrestling and this is what I was 112 00:06:28,640 --> 00:06:29,640 concerned about. 113 00:06:29,640 --> 00:06:35,120 I wouldn't call it a throwaway show for Sunday nights main event, but it wasn't certainly 114 00:06:35,120 --> 00:06:40,120 a show that I think would have the magnitude to have this first. 115 00:06:40,120 --> 00:06:44,640 The future is now type match between these two guys because I do feel like they are part 116 00:06:44,640 --> 00:06:49,960 of the future of WWE and can play a very big part of the future of WWE. 117 00:06:49,960 --> 00:06:55,600 The opposite side of it though, Dr. Trey, is despite this match, this first time match, 118 00:06:55,600 --> 00:06:58,600 future on the line being sacrificed. 119 00:06:58,600 --> 00:07:03,320 I do feel like Bronson Reed coming back, he just got elevated. 120 00:07:03,320 --> 00:07:09,280 The vision has been, let's just say what it is, it's, they've been awful for a while now 121 00:07:09,280 --> 00:07:11,440 because of the amount of injuries. 122 00:07:11,440 --> 00:07:14,960 I mean, there was a period of time where it was just basically Austin Theory and that is 123 00:07:14,960 --> 00:07:16,800 scary. 124 00:07:16,800 --> 00:07:19,360 That is not a good thing when it's just him. 125 00:07:19,360 --> 00:07:20,760 I mean Logan Paul is still here. 126 00:07:20,760 --> 00:07:21,760 Bronson was out. 127 00:07:21,760 --> 00:07:22,760 Bronfraker was out. 128 00:07:22,760 --> 00:07:25,600 I mean, I remember reading stuff that there was rumblings at the vision was going to be 129 00:07:25,600 --> 00:07:30,000 disbanded because of all of it, which we've seen WWE do plenty of times with staples that 130 00:07:30,000 --> 00:07:34,720 should have stuck around with one another, but they stuck it through and they reestablished 131 00:07:34,720 --> 00:07:39,880 themselves and reignited themselves as a powerful force on Monday night Raw, at least in the short 132 00:07:39,880 --> 00:07:40,880 term. 133 00:07:40,880 --> 00:07:44,720 That angle that carried over on Monday night where they laid out Oba brought, so when Bronson 134 00:07:44,720 --> 00:07:49,680 Reed puts his foot on Oba Femi and Oba like swat it away, I'm like, I wonder if that was 135 00:07:49,680 --> 00:07:53,040 scripted or not or if that's, you know, they did that purposely. 136 00:07:53,040 --> 00:07:56,560 And then to come to find out on Twitter today, I believe Russell votes had reported that 137 00:07:56,560 --> 00:07:58,800 that was not scripted and people were upset about it. 138 00:07:58,800 --> 00:08:02,080 I think there were more upset with Oba than they were Bronson Reed. 139 00:08:02,080 --> 00:08:07,800 But nonetheless, I mean, the vision returned and I think if there's one shining light that 140 00:08:07,800 --> 00:08:14,440 comes out of this, I think an Oba versus vision feud has me excited, but I don't want it to 141 00:08:14,440 --> 00:08:18,080 be like a John Cena versus Nexus feud. 142 00:08:18,080 --> 00:08:24,400 Yeah, I mean, but this is, I mean, this is the, I mean, we've talked about triple H learn 143 00:08:24,400 --> 00:08:27,560 from Dusty and Vince, right? 144 00:08:27,560 --> 00:08:32,360 And Dusty, you know, being around the horseman and then, you know, his time in WC with the 145 00:08:32,360 --> 00:08:35,440 NWO, that's how you build super over baby faces. 146 00:08:35,440 --> 00:08:37,920 You have a strong heel faction. 147 00:08:37,920 --> 00:08:42,600 One baby face tries to run up against the entire faction and that's how that guy gets over 148 00:08:42,600 --> 00:08:47,600 whether it was Dusty and the horseman, Rugg and Ronnie Garvin and the horseman, you know, 149 00:08:47,600 --> 00:08:52,200 Nikita Kohloff in his time against the horse, like that, that's how WCW build baby faces 150 00:08:52,200 --> 00:08:53,200 or NWA did. 151 00:08:53,200 --> 00:08:58,960 And then with the NWO, whether it was Goldberg, Sting, Diamond Dallas page, when they split 152 00:08:58,960 --> 00:09:04,920 the NWO in Nashwood up against NW O Hollywood, that's how you get your baby faces over is have 153 00:09:04,920 --> 00:09:07,640 that big giant obstacle in their way. 154 00:09:07,640 --> 00:09:09,240 But you have to make it look realistic. 155 00:09:09,240 --> 00:09:12,680 It's not like you mentioned Cena and the Nexus were seen in what basically run through the 156 00:09:12,680 --> 00:09:17,000 entire Nexus and one, Vince would be like, hey, Russell, four guys in the Nexus to get 157 00:09:17,000 --> 00:09:21,320 to, you know, bear it tonight and then Cena would crush everybody. 158 00:09:21,320 --> 00:09:27,000 Like you have to do it in stages to kind of build that up to build to that climactic finish 159 00:09:27,000 --> 00:09:30,040 and then cycle up the next guy. 160 00:09:30,040 --> 00:09:34,800 My only worry with this is right now is Oba in the vision for me has me excited like you 161 00:09:34,800 --> 00:09:39,960 said because I'm like, oh, Oba and Braun again, Oba and Bronson, I mean, Oba and Logan 162 00:09:39,960 --> 00:09:47,000 Paul will be fun if all comes back healthy at some point in time for this rivalry as well. 163 00:09:47,000 --> 00:09:51,080 But right now when you look at it, there's like a pecking order of stables on Monday night 164 00:09:51,080 --> 00:09:56,800 raw where you have the bloodline and 946, is that the correct name? 165 00:09:56,800 --> 00:09:57,800 Yes. 166 00:09:57,800 --> 00:09:59,640 We'll certainly talk about 946 here. 167 00:09:59,640 --> 00:10:05,120 Yeah, but you have this, like there's other heel factions and the vision kind of slots 168 00:10:05,120 --> 00:10:08,400 in a little bit lower on the on the card right now. 169 00:10:08,400 --> 00:10:13,680 And then now you have Oba working against the third strongest faction and that's not 170 00:10:13,680 --> 00:10:19,120 and I guess judgment day is fourth right now because there's only two guys. 171 00:10:19,120 --> 00:10:24,120 But it's just like, wow, okay, like you would kind of want Oba up there with the Roman blood 172 00:10:24,120 --> 00:10:26,000 line thing maybe at some point. 173 00:10:26,000 --> 00:10:31,320 But you know, it's interesting because it is like the younger generation against the younger 174 00:10:31,320 --> 00:10:32,720 generation in that feud. 175 00:10:32,720 --> 00:10:38,200 So like I'm excited for, but once again, to me, if you look at that match, you go, okay, 176 00:10:38,200 --> 00:10:44,040 so there's Oba and Braun, yeah, Oba and Braun in the first match, Cody and Randy in the 177 00:10:44,040 --> 00:10:50,000 main event match, but Cody takes a pinfall, but Oba can't, like that doesn't, to me, I'm 178 00:10:50,000 --> 00:10:51,920 like that doesn't make a lot of sense. 179 00:10:51,920 --> 00:10:56,440 Like you could have had Oba take the pinfall, still be protected because he lost to basically 180 00:10:56,440 --> 00:10:58,720 four people. 181 00:10:58,720 --> 00:11:02,960 And then it gives Braun Breaker a little bit of credibility being, you know, really only 182 00:11:02,960 --> 00:11:08,440 the second person to pin Oba since he came to the main roster and then, you know, he's 183 00:11:08,440 --> 00:11:09,940 reestablished. 184 00:11:09,940 --> 00:11:17,160 Do you think Lesnar was the guy that made Oba Femi and then this feud and storyline is 185 00:11:17,160 --> 00:11:23,720 what elevates Oba Femi heading into WrestleMania season? 186 00:11:23,720 --> 00:11:24,720 Here's my thing. 187 00:11:24,720 --> 00:11:28,840 I look at it like right now, like, and that's, we talked about last week, Braun Breaker and 188 00:11:28,840 --> 00:11:35,280 not so much in a slump, but he wasn't at the same level he was in January, right? 189 00:11:35,280 --> 00:11:42,400 I don't know how Oba beating up, you know, a, a finally recovered vision elevates him 190 00:11:42,400 --> 00:11:47,880 because they've, they've been devalued so much over the last four months that I just don't 191 00:11:47,880 --> 00:11:52,040 see where, like in my head, I'm like, if Oba beats Austin Therid, is that do anything 192 00:11:52,040 --> 00:11:53,040 for him? 193 00:11:53,040 --> 00:11:55,560 If Oba beats Logan Paul, all right, that's cool. 194 00:11:55,560 --> 00:12:00,440 If Oba beats Bronson Reed who's just been out for six months, does that, I don't think 195 00:12:00,440 --> 00:12:08,120 anything one on one does any for the interesting dynamic is who was Paul Hamin talking to? 196 00:12:08,120 --> 00:12:13,440 And if that's somebody who's bigger on the ladder than anybody in the vision currently, 197 00:12:13,440 --> 00:12:18,820 then that could help elevate Oba heading into Royal Rumble season. 198 00:12:18,820 --> 00:12:24,560 But if it's not, I don't see how this feud elevates him prior to the rumble. 199 00:12:24,560 --> 00:12:29,080 Yeah, that's, that's what I've been wondering is like, because the way you look at it where 200 00:12:29,080 --> 00:12:34,280 it's four on one right now, yeah, four on one, that this would, I mean, so it's, Oba just 201 00:12:34,280 --> 00:12:40,600 got to either obliterate them or is Paul Hamin going to reach out to somebody to help aid 202 00:12:40,600 --> 00:12:41,600 Oba Femme? 203 00:12:41,600 --> 00:12:42,600 And then who the hell is that? 204 00:12:42,600 --> 00:12:45,200 I mean, there's nobody on the current roster. 205 00:12:45,200 --> 00:12:49,960 Lesnar is retired with a bring Lesnar out of retirement to like work side by side with 206 00:12:49,960 --> 00:12:55,760 the Oba for a period of time. That doesn't make sense. I think it's, I think it's just, I 207 00:12:55,760 --> 00:13:01,480 don't know, I don't know if the phone call leads to anything quite honestly. It could have 208 00:13:01,480 --> 00:13:08,880 just been something that he just goes off camera to not answer the question. I just feel 209 00:13:08,880 --> 00:13:12,760 like this is going to be Oba versus vision on his own, honestly. I don't think that anybody 210 00:13:12,760 --> 00:13:14,880 comes sides with him. 211 00:13:14,880 --> 00:13:19,360 You still have Seth in the profits you have been seen on TV since Seth lost a room in 212 00:13:19,360 --> 00:13:21,400 the profits haven't been around in like six weeks. 213 00:13:21,400 --> 00:13:26,880 I think if they went right back to Seth and the vision, that would be weird because they, 214 00:13:26,880 --> 00:13:29,760 I thought they ended that feud basically. 215 00:13:29,760 --> 00:13:37,160 Well, they ended maybe Seth and Braun Breaker, but once again, there still Seth has some beef 216 00:13:37,160 --> 00:13:42,880 with Braun's and Reed too. So it is like, I don't know, like it's just, you're right. Like 217 00:13:42,880 --> 00:13:48,120 there, it's, it's, who's a big enough star to bring into this to help elevate Oba? And 218 00:13:48,120 --> 00:13:53,320 Brock has retired and apparently shaved his head. I don't know if he saw the picture of that. 219 00:13:53,320 --> 00:13:54,320 No. 220 00:13:54,320 --> 00:13:59,200 Yeah, there's a picture of him at a, as some, something around in Canada and him and 221 00:13:59,200 --> 00:14:06,160 Sable took a picture with a fan of Lesnar and shaved his head completely bald. I just don't 222 00:14:06,160 --> 00:14:12,080 know who you plug in there that hasn't been seen on TV. No, wow, that helps elevate this 223 00:14:12,080 --> 00:14:17,160 because we are once again, we are headed in survivor series. And if Logan Paul, who 224 00:14:17,160 --> 00:14:22,600 get cleared by survivor series, you could have four on four with Oba Seth and the profits 225 00:14:22,600 --> 00:14:28,360 against the vision. And then you have the other groups like in six man or singles or whatever. 226 00:14:28,360 --> 00:14:32,080 So there, that was, you know, something else I thought I was like, oh, there is four people 227 00:14:32,080 --> 00:14:37,280 in the vision. If everybody gets medically cleared in time, but if not, you know, it's, 228 00:14:37,280 --> 00:14:43,840 it's just, I just don't know who that storyline with Paul Hameon goes into that helps Oba. 229 00:14:43,840 --> 00:14:48,160 And even Oba one on one, I guess the other three guys that aren't injured right now, I don't 230 00:14:48,160 --> 00:14:54,080 think Oba beating those guys one on one really helps elevate Oba into that main event level 231 00:14:54,080 --> 00:14:59,040 because I right now it's, he has the wins over Brock. He now has a win over Braun Breaker. 232 00:14:59,040 --> 00:15:03,520 But, you know, how do you get him into the mix when you have an LA night in Roman Reigns 233 00:15:03,520 --> 00:15:06,320 kind of running the top of the card right now? 234 00:15:06,320 --> 00:15:11,160 If it's the photo that I found out straight, that is very clearly AI. Is this daughter of 235 00:15:11,160 --> 00:15:18,160 him? The one, I don't know if that was his daughter because his daughter is engaged now to a former, 236 00:15:18,160 --> 00:15:24,880 I don't know. I don't know. I also felt one of him just in a ball then with a mustache with 237 00:15:24,880 --> 00:15:32,120 his son. Oh my God. Yeah, I'm in. Anyway, yeah, rabbit hole. And we can't do a rabbit hole 238 00:15:32,120 --> 00:15:36,120 in the podcast. It's very bad for listening. So yeah, lots of discussion here. Oba family 239 00:15:36,120 --> 00:15:39,520 Braun Breaker, the vision. We'll keep an eye on that few days we move forward. Feel free 240 00:15:39,520 --> 00:15:46,280 to share your thoughts over at patreon.com/srtupodcast. The other big news from Sunday nights main event 241 00:15:46,280 --> 00:15:50,960 on trade is Randy Orton got Cody Rhodes. Randy didn't beat Cody because he was a better 242 00:15:50,960 --> 00:15:55,560 wrestler. He beat him because Cody hesitated. Cody had a chance upon Randy. Randy begged 243 00:15:55,560 --> 00:16:01,440 him to do it. Cody pause and Orton immediately went low and hit the RKO. That is such a Randy 244 00:16:01,440 --> 00:16:06,240 Orton finish. Cody tried to play the Viper's game and learned that Randy will always go 245 00:16:06,240 --> 00:16:11,240 one step further. So my question for you did Randy Orton's win make the Cody rivalry 246 00:16:11,240 --> 00:16:16,960 more interesting than a clean Cody victory would have? Well, yeah, because now they're kind 247 00:16:16,960 --> 00:16:22,640 of one on one and one. You know, Cody had had the win in WrestleMania. Now Randy gets 248 00:16:22,640 --> 00:16:26,760 a win back and it's a now they got to have the and then you're you know, there's always 249 00:16:26,760 --> 00:16:33,940 the is Cody going to turn heel T's which this may end up in the will there ever be a 250 00:16:33,940 --> 00:16:39,300 Johnson and a heel turn realm for us like they're going to keep teasing it and then just 251 00:16:39,300 --> 00:16:44,760 like never pull the trigger on it. To me, it does make it more interesting because at some 252 00:16:44,760 --> 00:16:49,860 point Cody's going to have to go to a darker place than his character currently has gone 253 00:16:49,860 --> 00:16:56,060 to finally put away Randy Orton. So it's just a question of like how what lines will 254 00:16:56,060 --> 00:17:02,860 they have Cody cross to get the way we've seen Cody cheat to win in previous matches 255 00:17:02,860 --> 00:17:07,580 where you and I have said they went like, whoa, that's that's not like a you know, clean 256 00:17:07,580 --> 00:17:14,060 cut baby face type move, but they circle back to him being super clean cut baby face and 257 00:17:14,060 --> 00:17:18,140 then we get these weird teases and then it goes back is like, all right, if Cody's going 258 00:17:18,140 --> 00:17:22,540 to defeat Randy Orton, he's going to have to go to a place that he doesn't want to go to. 259 00:17:22,540 --> 00:17:26,660 Will they actually pull the trigger on that? So it does to me make it a little more interesting 260 00:17:26,660 --> 00:17:32,180 how this all fleshes out in the end. Yeah, it's it's exciting to see. I think it's a good 261 00:17:32,180 --> 00:17:36,740 feud. I like that Cody is out of the title picture. I don't like Randy being out of the title 262 00:17:36,740 --> 00:17:41,780 picture because I would like to see him get a run with it, but makes sense here and you 263 00:17:41,780 --> 00:17:46,620 just can't have Cody dominating like they got it. They need to take this time right now, 264 00:17:46,620 --> 00:17:50,300 keep him out of the title picture, which we've discussed and just basically almost reestablish 265 00:17:50,300 --> 00:17:55,260 him in a way so that he may get another run. Let's say WrestleMania next year post-Russell 266 00:17:55,260 --> 00:18:01,500 WrestleMania, Summer of 2027 because sometimes this is a good thing for a big time baby faces 267 00:18:01,500 --> 00:18:05,780 to not be in the title picture. And I think that will help serve Cody because it was getting 268 00:18:05,780 --> 00:18:12,180 dangerously close. I feel like to John Cena levels. Speaking of that WWE championship 269 00:18:12,180 --> 00:18:17,500 doctor, Trey that Cody Rhodes so desperately wants to regain, CM Punk is the holder of that 270 00:18:17,500 --> 00:18:24,460 belt and he has given Sami Zayn the match he wanted, Sami Zayn in Mexico City. So should 271 00:18:24,460 --> 00:18:29,780 Sami actually win in Mexico City on Friday nights back down last week, we asked what WWE 272 00:18:29,780 --> 00:18:32,940 was actually building toward with CM Punk, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Now we know the 273 00:18:32,940 --> 00:18:37,860 next step. Punk survived the returning Johnny Gargano on SmackDown despite Sami once again 274 00:18:37,860 --> 00:18:42,860 interviewing, interfering in the WWE Championship picture. Sami takes out Kevin Owens, Gunther 275 00:18:42,860 --> 00:18:46,980 and Finn Balor, last CM Punk with the title and still couldn't stop Punk from retaining. 276 00:18:46,980 --> 00:18:51,540 So Punk finally did the simplest thing possible. He challenged Sami to a WWE Championship match 277 00:18:51,540 --> 00:18:56,900 tomorrow night in Mexico City. So why does this work? Sami has spent weeks acting like 278 00:18:56,900 --> 00:19:00,900 Punk stole something that belonged to him. Now Punk is basically telling him, if you think 279 00:19:00,900 --> 00:19:06,220 the title is yours, come and take it. And Mexico City gives WWE a crowd where Sami should 280 00:19:06,220 --> 00:19:10,420 feel like a legitimate threat rather than just another challenger. So my question for you 281 00:19:10,420 --> 00:19:15,700 Dr. Trey is should Sami Zayn actually beat CM Punk for the WWE Championship in Mexico City 282 00:19:15,700 --> 00:19:17,660 on SmackDown? 283 00:19:17,660 --> 00:19:23,540 So selfishly, I'll say no because why? I want a championship scramble match. 284 00:19:23,540 --> 00:19:25,460 Brian Kendrick, each are hard out. 285 00:19:25,460 --> 00:19:31,260 >> Yes, because I want everybody to have a chance to hold the belt at least for two minutes. 286 00:19:31,260 --> 00:19:36,300 I mean, we talked about this. You know, there's, you have, you know, Kevin Owens, Gunther, 287 00:19:36,300 --> 00:19:41,820 Finn Balor, Sami Zayn. Maybe those guys individually don't match up to the level of the CM Punk 288 00:19:41,820 --> 00:19:47,220 character in the eyes of the fans, but you throw all four of those guys. And maybe even Johnny 289 00:19:47,220 --> 00:19:54,420 Gargano back into the mix. You got five guys. CM Punk makes six. Like to me, if you do want 290 00:19:54,420 --> 00:19:59,340 to make a title change and take the belt off of Punk and have him chase again, this is a 291 00:19:59,340 --> 00:20:03,780 great opportunity to do it because once again, Punk wouldn't have to take the loss. You know, 292 00:20:03,780 --> 00:20:05,220 whatever it is. 293 00:20:05,220 --> 00:20:12,340 >> I, Sami is beloved in every country except the United States. So actually, to me, I think 294 00:20:12,340 --> 00:20:16,380 it almost feels like a hometown match tomorrow night. In Mexico City, I think the cry 295 00:20:16,380 --> 00:20:22,580 will actually be behind Sammy more than Punk. But, you know, to me, I'm a Kevin Owens guy 296 00:20:22,580 --> 00:20:26,300 first and then Sammy is second. So you didn't put the belt on Owens. So don't put the belt 297 00:20:26,300 --> 00:20:27,620 back on Sammy. 298 00:20:27,620 --> 00:20:33,140 >> So if Punk retains to Sammy's story, stay centered on Punk or does Kevin Owens become 299 00:20:33,140 --> 00:20:36,300 the real destination? 300 00:20:36,300 --> 00:20:42,380 >> I still think it centers on Punk. We talked about it last one. To me, the dream match is Punk 301 00:20:42,380 --> 00:20:46,340 Owens and Sammy. Like I want to see the triple threat. I want to see all of it. And so I 302 00:20:46,340 --> 00:20:51,460 think Owens gets involved Friday night and cost Sammy the match, just like Sammy cost 303 00:20:51,460 --> 00:20:57,100 him the match, you know, a couple weeks ago. So I think that's where the road is leading 304 00:20:57,100 --> 00:21:01,340 to. And then meanwhile, you saw a little bit of the baller, Gunther's stuff last week. 305 00:21:01,340 --> 00:21:06,860 So I think you could have baller and Gunther go at it and then leave Sammy, Kevin and Punk 306 00:21:06,860 --> 00:21:08,540 to their own devices there. 307 00:21:08,540 --> 00:21:16,020 >> Yeah, it's an interesting issue that's going on in SmackDown. Do you feel like, and we're 308 00:21:16,020 --> 00:21:21,340 going to get into some of the 946 Uso stuff here. So maybe I should hold off on this. You 309 00:21:21,340 --> 00:21:24,900 know what? I'm going to pause the question because I do have a question here about WWE 310 00:21:24,900 --> 00:21:30,900 creative because I'm enjoying what I'm seeing. And it's on par with the stuff that I've seen 311 00:21:30,900 --> 00:21:35,060 in AEW this year. So but we'll pause on that. So let's go over to the red brand, Dr. 312 00:21:35,060 --> 00:21:41,220 Terbi, because you've got the 946 6 setting the Uso's car on fire. Weird way to end raw. I 313 00:21:41,220 --> 00:21:46,580 got to be honest with you, but this looks like this is the new bloodline war for for 2026. 314 00:21:46,580 --> 00:21:50,500 A few weeks ago, I was wondering whether WWE was adding too many people around the bloodline 315 00:21:50,500 --> 00:21:54,140 story. This week the 946 made sure that they didn't feel like just another group standing 316 00:21:54,140 --> 00:21:59,340 around in the storyline. The Uso's and Jacob Fattu called them out on raw. Key's Nima and 317 00:21:59,340 --> 00:22:03,740 Lucian Price answered by setting the Uso's car on fire, which by the way, Wade Barrick says 318 00:22:03,740 --> 00:22:10,340 like Lucian Price. It's very odd. Lucian Price. That's a pretty clear escalation. So why 319 00:22:10,340 --> 00:22:14,620 am I interested as a fan? The bloodline saga has been running for years, so any new opponent 320 00:22:14,620 --> 00:22:18,980 has to feel different. The 946 attacking people in parking lots and out torching a car at least 321 00:22:18,980 --> 00:22:23,220 gives them an identity being beyond being another faction that wants to fight. And then you've 322 00:22:23,220 --> 00:22:27,060 got Jacob Fattu. He's involved. This can move the story forward without it immediately 323 00:22:27,060 --> 00:22:31,420 going back to Roman Reigns controlling every piece of it. You could let Jacob Fattu be almost 324 00:22:31,420 --> 00:22:37,260 like the center while Reigns is in and out off of television. So Dr. Trey, I ask you this. 325 00:22:37,260 --> 00:22:42,060 Has the 946 made the bloodline story feel fresh again? Or are we still adding too many moving 326 00:22:42,060 --> 00:22:46,460 parts to a saga that already has a huge cast? 327 00:22:46,460 --> 00:22:52,180 One of my favorite things I read this week was from Bully Ray. That was a very Vince 328 00:22:52,180 --> 00:22:56,580 big man type thing to do to have to be down for these. Why does anybody care about the Usos 329 00:22:56,580 --> 00:23:04,380 car? He's got a point there. You just smashed up. It's basically you just smashed up the 330 00:23:04,380 --> 00:23:13,420 rich guy's car. It's almost a baby face thing to do it in a way. But it's interesting. I can't 331 00:23:13,420 --> 00:23:17,300 think of a good comparison on my head, but it's interesting. It's kind of like, hey, here's 332 00:23:17,300 --> 00:23:25,100 the established faction. Here's this new faction. So anything new and different is fun. 333 00:23:25,100 --> 00:23:30,900 And I'm interesting. And the Royce keys smile to snarl thing he's doing. I haven't figured 334 00:23:30,900 --> 00:23:37,360 if I dig better not yet. But it does feel very, very gang warfare like mentality, which goes 335 00:23:37,360 --> 00:23:43,740 back to when you and I were really a WWE when you had DOA and Loose Burr week was and all 336 00:23:43,740 --> 00:23:50,060 those factions back then. It's like that was really, really cool time because it felt not real, 337 00:23:50,060 --> 00:23:55,340 but it felt maybe the most realistic version of what would happen in pro wrestling in reality. 338 00:23:55,340 --> 00:23:59,060 Like, oh, these guys are all friends. Hey, this is my collect. This is your collect. Let's 339 00:23:59,060 --> 00:24:06,820 go at it. My only issue with this is you had maybe one of the hottest organic baby face 340 00:24:06,820 --> 00:24:12,820 things going with Solosiko and because of this involvement of 946, it feels like that's 341 00:24:12,820 --> 00:24:18,260 being tamped down. And I was really enjoying the solo stuff and kind of wanted to see more 342 00:24:18,260 --> 00:24:24,060 of it. So what do you do with solo when it looks like you're going LA night Roman Reigns? 343 00:24:24,060 --> 00:24:30,060 Where does solos slot into all of this? So it's an interesting dynamic because there's 344 00:24:30,060 --> 00:24:35,100 still more questions than there are answers, which is fun. But it does kind of make me feel 345 00:24:35,100 --> 00:24:41,820 like, okay, don't I know you're you're almost sacrificing the solo organic push to really 346 00:24:41,820 --> 00:24:49,020 get 946 over as a heel faction? Is it surprising that 946 is being presented as heels? 347 00:24:49,020 --> 00:24:57,340 No, because I still think even though like I know OTM like in NST, they were kind of baby 348 00:24:57,340 --> 00:25:03,220 faceors in those guys do look like, I hate to say this sounds bad, but they do kind of 349 00:25:03,220 --> 00:25:07,860 like they can be street thugs like in a gang. You know, they do look like they look the 350 00:25:07,860 --> 00:25:14,020 part of being heels. I know they have a really outgoing personality side and really fun. And 351 00:25:14,020 --> 00:25:20,020 at some point, hey, all these guys can be a super baby face group. But it's interesting 352 00:25:20,020 --> 00:25:27,900 that you had the Usos playing heels what three weeks ago with the solo thing. And now this 353 00:25:27,900 --> 00:25:32,580 other fact is like they're trying to they're being like, hey, we're more heel than you're 354 00:25:32,580 --> 00:25:37,540 heel. You know, it's a weird dynamic that like we wanted to hear for Jacob, but it was 355 00:25:37,540 --> 00:25:42,620 Jimmy and Jay that were basically bullying solo. But then Roy shows up with these two other 356 00:25:42,620 --> 00:25:47,320 guys and now we're supposed to feel bad for the Usos like this is where like I brought 357 00:25:47,320 --> 00:25:52,820 up this is where shades of gray can really make fans lose interest in storyline because 358 00:25:52,820 --> 00:25:57,940 like right now like who do you cheer for then this like are you just here for Jacob? Like 359 00:25:57,940 --> 00:26:02,820 if a new fan turns us on like they're going to go okay, we like the Usos, but then somebody 360 00:26:02,820 --> 00:26:06,620 goes yeah, but they treated their little brother like crap like three weeks ago. You know, 361 00:26:06,620 --> 00:26:13,300 it's like it's it's weird in a sense of like you're you're trying to show depth of character, 362 00:26:13,300 --> 00:26:18,700 but maybe you're showing too much depth of character at times. So you know me right we get 363 00:26:18,700 --> 00:26:22,260 to this time of year, I always mention it. I'm thinking war games and I think this is the 364 00:26:22,260 --> 00:26:28,060 direction of war games. Do you disagree with that at all? So are we doing three on three 365 00:26:28,060 --> 00:26:32,220 war games? No, no, no, this is how we got to build it out. So do you think? Because what 366 00:26:32,220 --> 00:26:36,180 storyline do you think right now has the best chance for the men's war games match? 367 00:26:36,180 --> 00:26:43,060 Yeah, it's it's bloodline and nine four six. Yeah. So during all this you've got three on 368 00:26:43,060 --> 00:26:47,100 three right that you're pointing out right now. And in my mind, I would have figured with 369 00:26:47,100 --> 00:26:51,340 nine four six debut that they would have been baby faces and solo and LA night because 370 00:26:51,340 --> 00:26:56,100 they just tagged at summer slam would be the other two on their side. You had five. You 371 00:26:56,100 --> 00:26:59,500 had Roman on that side. Now you've got four. There's been some rumbling that they're going 372 00:26:59,500 --> 00:27:04,460 to call up. Zillafatu a little bit quicker. Let's say Zillafatu comes up and now it's 373 00:27:04,460 --> 00:27:10,420 Zillafatu, Jacob Fattu, both usos Roman Reigns versus nine four six, Lucian Price, Bronco 374 00:27:10,420 --> 00:27:17,220 Nima, Royce Keys, Solosikoa and LA night. Is that a likely destination for the war games 375 00:27:17,220 --> 00:27:22,180 match or not? Because I don't think it is right now. I don't know how we get there. 376 00:27:22,180 --> 00:27:28,580 No, yeah, because you still have. So like, how do you make L.E. you would have to come up 377 00:27:28,580 --> 00:27:33,820 with something to kite because you got to remember nine four six beat down solo and LA 378 00:27:33,820 --> 00:27:40,540 night when they debuted. So how does LA like the enemy of my enemy is my friend? Like I try 379 00:27:40,540 --> 00:27:45,540 to figure out how they get to that is and we've seen them do that before. It's like, oh, 380 00:27:45,540 --> 00:27:48,660 it's just like a knee jerk book of thing. Like, okay, we're cool for this week, but after 381 00:27:48,660 --> 00:27:53,540 this war games thing, we're going to fight it out. To me, I would almost look at go, hey, 382 00:27:53,540 --> 00:28:00,140 could you possibly do where Jacob turns against a bloodline and sides with Royce and 383 00:28:00,140 --> 00:28:07,100 nine four six and then you get those four against LA night solosiko and the Usos. Like, could 384 00:28:07,100 --> 00:28:13,580 you go that route? Say that one more time. I'm trying to follow you on that. So, so Jacob, 385 00:28:13,580 --> 00:28:17,940 like let's say we do they have a six man tag coming up as Jacob and the Usos against nine 386 00:28:17,940 --> 00:28:24,820 four six. Yeah. Jacob turns on the Usos to become the front guy, like really the leader 387 00:28:24,820 --> 00:28:31,060 of nine four six. Yep. And then in defense, so the Usos have to get solo at LA night on their 388 00:28:31,060 --> 00:28:37,180 side for war games and you do the Usos LA night and solo against nine four six and Jacob. 389 00:28:37,180 --> 00:28:42,900 Interesting. Because I, all right. So we're not going to put Roman in this match at all. No, 390 00:28:42,900 --> 00:28:48,140 because I really don't think we've been trying to do four on four and Romans usually only 391 00:28:48,140 --> 00:28:51,300 if they need ticket sales. But look at the death. Look at the destination right now. I'm 392 00:28:51,300 --> 00:28:55,940 on the bank. I think we're getting an LA night versus Roman. Once Penta is gone, I think this 393 00:28:55,940 --> 00:29:00,300 is LA night versus Roman. So how does LA night all of a sudden start tagging with the bloodline? 394 00:29:00,300 --> 00:29:06,500 Um, you know, six weeks later. It's, it's a, it's a 10 with lab right now. Yeah. And that's 395 00:29:06,500 --> 00:29:10,620 where I was like, well, how do you get LA night to LA night and solo to sit there and put 396 00:29:10,620 --> 00:29:17,300 outside that beat down that nine four six gave them to then go against the entire bloodline? 397 00:29:17,300 --> 00:29:21,420 You know, there's still like any direction you go, you're going to have to have that whole like, 398 00:29:21,420 --> 00:29:26,180 hey, by the way, forget that happened a few weeks ago. Maybe we live in out of three on three 399 00:29:26,180 --> 00:29:31,140 versus three versus three versus three war games match. Yeah. And that's, and that's what 400 00:29:31,140 --> 00:29:35,780 I thought was like, Hey, let's just, we've never done a triple threat war games match. 401 00:29:35,780 --> 00:29:39,580 If you want to do something new and that's been the conversation that I've heard from online 402 00:29:39,580 --> 00:29:42,340 is like, there are people are starting to get sick of war games, which I don't know how 403 00:29:42,340 --> 00:29:47,260 you can ever take that. Yeah. Yeah. Um, but if you want to freshen it up, 404 00:29:47,260 --> 00:29:52,740 you do three on three on three, you know, and you get nine guys involved and you do Roman 405 00:29:52,740 --> 00:29:58,460 in the Usos versus maybe Jacob, solo and LA night and nine four six. I think, I think you 406 00:29:58,460 --> 00:30:02,700 sold me on a doctor. Try I think you sold me on. I think you do three on three versus three 407 00:30:02,700 --> 00:30:09,860 versus three versus three. I don't know who you add into solo and LA night team yet. But what 408 00:30:09,860 --> 00:30:14,940 does that matter? Like Jacob gets mad. Jacob gets upset because Roman says he wants to do it 409 00:30:14,940 --> 00:30:19,020 with his. Oh, I feel you now. Okay, I got you. I get you. And then Jacob just has to do it. 410 00:30:19,020 --> 00:30:24,540 I want to do is Jacob solo and LA night versus the Usos and Roman versus nine four six. 411 00:30:24,540 --> 00:30:27,820 Because I think the Jacob turn is coming a lot sooner. I don't think we're getting Roman 412 00:30:27,820 --> 00:30:31,500 versus Jacob that WrestleMania. And that's what you would typically think. I mean, this 413 00:30:31,500 --> 00:30:35,900 is to me, everything's being set up for Roman versus Oba right now. WrestleMania. Yeah. 414 00:30:35,900 --> 00:30:40,380 Another torch passing match. All right. Some good stuff there. I always think about war games. 415 00:30:40,380 --> 00:30:42,980 Once summer slam passes, I'm like, where are we going with the war games? Because you 416 00:30:42,980 --> 00:30:45,980 could start seeing the writing on the wall. And I think you're seeing it right now at least 417 00:30:45,980 --> 00:30:50,380 on the raw brand, the women's side, minor league indications are whatever the Charlotte Alexa 418 00:30:50,380 --> 00:30:54,580 Jade Cargill stuff is is what leads in that direction. And you may even throw like Chelsea 419 00:30:54,580 --> 00:30:59,420 Green Tiffany Stratton in there as well. But that's for another discussion for another day. 420 00:30:59,420 --> 00:31:06,900 We got plenty of time before war games. Lastly, Dr. Trace switching gears to AEW this past 421 00:31:06,900 --> 00:31:13,340 Wednesday night. So first thing here, terrible news over the weekend, where the butcher Andy 422 00:31:13,340 --> 00:31:23,180 Williams passed away at 47 years old or 48 years old, excuse me. During a match, he collapsed. 423 00:31:23,180 --> 00:31:31,220 CPR was administered. Transport of the hospital show ended. And he unfortunately passed away. 424 00:31:31,220 --> 00:31:37,380 I always enjoyed the butcher. And they were, you know, he was like a like a job or towards 425 00:31:37,380 --> 00:31:40,980 the end of the AEW side because a blade was out with a really, really bad back injury. 426 00:31:40,980 --> 00:31:45,500 But I really enjoyed that tag team and a brought back really good memories of when AEW first 427 00:31:45,500 --> 00:31:53,780 started. I loved his look. He was such a throwback character to me. Loved how he was a musician, 428 00:31:53,780 --> 00:32:00,940 like a legit musician on the side and decided he wanted to take up wrestling from what you 429 00:32:00,940 --> 00:32:08,100 read. Just like always, it's terrible. Excalibur on AEW dynamite this past Wednesday had some 430 00:32:08,100 --> 00:32:12,300 beautiful words. If you've not heard his words on Andy Williams, the butcher I would highly 431 00:32:12,300 --> 00:32:17,500 recommend it. But I would be remiss Dr. Trace. We don't at least share our thoughts around 432 00:32:17,500 --> 00:32:24,740 the just unfortunately and terribly sad untimely passing of Andy Williams, the butcher. 433 00:32:24,740 --> 00:32:29,580 Yeah, just absolutely sucked, especially, you know, on the heels of, you know, the AEW's 434 00:32:29,580 --> 00:32:37,020 great show for Rebel. To hear that news was just completely just, you know, catches you off 435 00:32:37,020 --> 00:32:42,500 guard and, you know, like legit musicians, like if you're a rock music fan, go listen to 436 00:32:42,500 --> 00:32:48,340 every time I die. It's one of the better modern rock bands of this timeline. You know, 437 00:32:48,340 --> 00:32:55,540 and then you get just from every indication he is one of these, I talked to Adam Priest 438 00:32:55,540 --> 00:32:59,940 this weekend, Adam for those, you know, those Rock a City guy. I'm actually a senior watching 439 00:32:59,940 --> 00:33:05,020 LA or watching George Kittle. I remember promoting the George Kittle brand when they came 440 00:33:05,020 --> 00:33:09,420 to Rock a City and they did a commercial for George Kittle's clothing line and he wrestled 441 00:33:09,420 --> 00:33:14,060 one of the guys he wrestled was Adam Priest in that match. Priest is one of those guys always 442 00:33:14,060 --> 00:33:18,700 tells the cuts of Stray and he was like, Andy was one of the nicest guys when he got 443 00:33:18,700 --> 00:33:23,780 to first start really being around the AEW locker room and the AEW guys that, you know, Andy 444 00:33:23,780 --> 00:33:28,660 was actually going to cut him and just literally tell him like, you know, like advice, questions, 445 00:33:28,660 --> 00:33:33,140 anything like that. That was kind of one of those guys you would go to. So just Harbor, 446 00:33:33,140 --> 00:33:37,580 he did, he had one of those really great looks like that mustache. Like I always kind of 447 00:33:37,580 --> 00:33:42,260 way, like you could put him in a suit with a monocle and he could look like, you know, just 448 00:33:42,260 --> 00:33:47,100 like an evil butler. But then, you know, the butcher gimmick was so good and the butcher 449 00:33:47,100 --> 00:33:50,620 in play was one of my favorite early tag teams that I didn't really know anything about 450 00:33:50,620 --> 00:33:55,180 when AEW launched and, you know, it's just, it just sucks across all of, I mean, the guy is 451 00:33:55,180 --> 00:33:59,260 actually a year and a half younger than me. And so it also puts it in perspective, like, 452 00:33:59,260 --> 00:34:03,340 you know, don't take anything for granted because you just don't know how long stuff runs. 453 00:34:03,340 --> 00:34:09,100 But just absolutely crushing news to hear of a guy like that, you know, loses life and 454 00:34:09,100 --> 00:34:13,940 just get his, get everything extinguished far, far too young. 455 00:34:13,940 --> 00:34:18,380 They will be paying tribute to him on this Saturday's edition of Collision, which will 456 00:34:18,380 --> 00:34:24,620 be certainly a must watch. Obviously, the other news there as you brought up Dr. Trey was, 457 00:34:24,620 --> 00:34:30,300 the show was dedicated to Rebel, Tane and Brooks, or also known as Reba, the show title, Rebel 458 00:34:30,300 --> 00:34:38,500 Heart. And, you know, she's battling ALS right now. She's in her early 40s, I believe. She's 459 00:34:38,500 --> 00:34:42,940 been in professional wrestling at the last 10 years. Remember her in impact wrestling with 460 00:34:42,940 --> 00:34:52,540 the Monastery with crazy Steve was in there. Yeah. And I think not, there was one of the guys 461 00:34:52,540 --> 00:35:02,300 from the British group as well. And Mike Knox from WWE days was in there. And it was the 462 00:35:02,300 --> 00:35:08,420 weighting room moment was really cool and a nice throwback to those good old days of AW. 463 00:35:08,420 --> 00:35:13,860 And then when she comes out with the glove, I mean, but break or cannot hold it in. I mean, 464 00:35:13,860 --> 00:35:18,260 you just can tell how emotional she is and check and like holding it in. And then when they 465 00:35:18,260 --> 00:35:24,160 ride out together, I mean, what an amazing emotional moment. There's not many beautiful 466 00:35:24,160 --> 00:35:27,660 moments in professional wrestling by any means. But I figured I thought that that was one 467 00:35:27,660 --> 00:35:32,700 of the more beautiful moments that I've seen in such a warrior and somebody who is, if 468 00:35:32,700 --> 00:35:37,580 you watched her video, wants to carry the torch for ALS research. I mean, God bless her 469 00:35:37,580 --> 00:35:43,420 man. I mean, just awful diagnosis, awful cards that are dealt, but she's making the most 470 00:35:43,420 --> 00:35:48,380 out of a really bad situation. And just some beautiful moments as pass ones end out of 471 00:35:48,380 --> 00:35:54,820 my. Have you seen some of her videos from the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge coming back up? 472 00:35:54,820 --> 00:36:00,820 Yeah. The killer cross Scarlet, Scarlet Boudreau one was great. My friend Jeremiah Plunkett 473 00:36:00,820 --> 00:36:07,460 did one for, you know, NWA him and Rebel. They have been friends for 15 years. His Rebel 474 00:36:07,460 --> 00:36:11,820 first got into wrestling. I got to meet her. I only got to meet her once. And that was 475 00:36:11,820 --> 00:36:18,700 at a show in Tennessee. And she's just a sweetheart of a person. But yeah, just a really, 476 00:36:18,700 --> 00:36:24,100 really emotional show. And then my question was, was it always called the waiting room? 477 00:36:24,100 --> 00:36:29,460 It was, yeah. Because I swear, like I thought was called something else because when Dr. 478 00:36:29,460 --> 00:36:34,380 Tray Franklin had his own talk show, he called it the waiting room. So, but I had a different 479 00:36:34,380 --> 00:36:41,420 version. I actually made people come to the ring and then my wife and my wife would actually 480 00:36:41,420 --> 00:36:47,500 make them would hand them magazines and make them sit there and wait for me to actually 481 00:36:47,500 --> 00:36:53,460 come out to interview them. So I actually legitimately made it a waiting room. So yeah, it 482 00:36:53,460 --> 00:36:59,940 was just really, really beautiful thing. AEW, say what you and I have sat here and loved 483 00:36:59,940 --> 00:37:05,980 on AEW and we have trashed AEW. There may be no better company when it comes to like special 484 00:37:05,980 --> 00:37:12,380 shows or tribute shows than what AEW does. I totally agree. I mean, those guys, it's literally 485 00:37:12,380 --> 00:37:17,220 like you feel the love. And once again, like you talk about like Rebecca getting choked 486 00:37:17,220 --> 00:37:22,780 up, like they embrace that with AEW when they come to those kind of shows, like those 487 00:37:22,780 --> 00:37:28,140 guys just go above and beyond for folks. So I can't say enough good things about that show 488 00:37:28,140 --> 00:37:33,420 and about what AEW's been doing for helping out with Rebel and everything else they're doing. 489 00:37:33,420 --> 00:37:37,620 Like just really, really good work that they're doing right now to help her out. 490 00:37:37,620 --> 00:37:43,500 Yeah, God bless her all the best and amazing that she wants to be the face of ALS Kyrs and 491 00:37:43,500 --> 00:37:49,500 just all the strength and power to her during this time. Switching to what took place on 492 00:37:49,500 --> 00:37:56,260 Dynamite this past Wednesday, Dr. Trey to move the AW world championship storyline forward. 493 00:37:56,260 --> 00:38:04,580 Will Osprey comes out and says that he chose Will John Moxley. It's been quite the reign 494 00:38:04,580 --> 00:38:10,740 for Will Osprey's world championship run so far and it's going in a way that I really like. 495 00:38:10,740 --> 00:38:14,860 Osprey isn't waiting for someone to challenge him. He revealed that he personally asked for 496 00:38:14,860 --> 00:38:19,980 John Moxley at all out because Moxley is the only person to pin him this year. Osprey's 497 00:38:19,980 --> 00:38:23,820 in framing this as a revenge thing. He's framing it as the first test of whether he is really 498 00:38:23,820 --> 00:38:29,380 the new ace of AEW. So why does this matter right now? If AEW wants this to be Will Osprey's 499 00:38:29,380 --> 00:38:33,180 heir of beating Kenny Omega Wembley can't be the peak of the story. He needs a championship 500 00:38:33,180 --> 00:38:37,580 reign that feels important immediately. And Moxley is probably the safest possible opponent 501 00:38:37,580 --> 00:38:42,820 if you want Osprey's first major defense to feel dangerous from the moment it's announced. 502 00:38:42,820 --> 00:38:47,780 So Dr. Trash, you this is John Moxley the right first major challenger for Osprey's AW world 503 00:38:47,780 --> 00:38:49,780 championship reign. 504 00:38:49,780 --> 00:38:55,620 Yeah, I absolutely think so. I mean, for the better part of five years has been John Moxley's 505 00:38:55,620 --> 00:39:01,300 company. He's been the safety net. Anytime something goes bad, we can pull the John Moxley 506 00:39:01,300 --> 00:39:05,900 card and put them on top of the roster and it legitimizes everything that they're doing. 507 00:39:05,900 --> 00:39:12,780 So it is the safest pick to really establish that we're walking into the Will Osprey. 508 00:39:12,780 --> 00:39:18,420 He's the best air of AEW. So it makes it to the sense. It is interesting though that they 509 00:39:18,420 --> 00:39:23,540 also have deviated from the Andrade angle of this as well and maybe saving it for down 510 00:39:23,540 --> 00:39:27,780 the road or whatever. But you know, for Osprey to come out and say like he wants Moxley 511 00:39:27,780 --> 00:39:35,220 plus it maybe wraps up that whole death writer storyline with them as well and gives that 512 00:39:35,220 --> 00:39:38,820 a little bit of finality because that's one thing AEW does maybe doesn't do as good as 513 00:39:38,820 --> 00:39:45,460 AEW is like they still leave strings of a story lingering at times and maybe this is how 514 00:39:45,460 --> 00:39:52,780 we get the finality of what you know, the Osprey death writer's angle really, you know, kind 515 00:39:52,780 --> 00:39:57,140 of comes to a head. So that's why I was going to ask you here kind of quasi next Dr. Trey 516 00:39:57,140 --> 00:40:02,260 does Osprey need to beat Moxley decisively at all out to establish that AW really has entered 517 00:40:02,260 --> 00:40:08,380 his era. Yeah, I mean, and like in a much more to say, like I mean, as long as he gets 518 00:40:08,380 --> 00:40:12,780 a pinfall victory because I don't think you know, Osprey's not the kind of cheat, you know, 519 00:40:12,780 --> 00:40:16,140 this version of Osprey's not going to cheat to win. So he needs a pinfall victory or job 520 00:40:16,140 --> 00:40:22,140 mostly because once again, Moxley I think has only been pinned once this year himself or 521 00:40:22,140 --> 00:40:28,140 twice maybe at most. So it is two of the top guys going head to head. So Osprey really 522 00:40:28,140 --> 00:40:34,340 needs kind of that clean victory over here to really establish his era of AEW. Yeah, 523 00:40:34,340 --> 00:40:40,460 that's going to be a really fun match at all out. And I loved how they catapulted that ankle 524 00:40:40,460 --> 00:40:45,180 on Wednesday night. Dr. Trey, I forgot my own question. I was going to ask you. We were 525 00:40:45,180 --> 00:40:53,860 talking about the blue and the red band brands. What do you feel? How do you feel right now 526 00:40:53,860 --> 00:40:58,540 about WWE creative right now? Because I do like the direction things are going. And I've 527 00:40:58,540 --> 00:41:02,180 been given them props over the last several weeks. But how do you feel about how things 528 00:41:02,180 --> 00:41:08,620 are going for the creative team? I would say majority pretty good. The majority of the stuff 529 00:41:08,620 --> 00:41:13,580 on both brands I think is really good. Like I mean, like I said earlier, I don't like when 530 00:41:13,580 --> 00:41:21,180 things like, okay, so the bloodline just bullied solo three weeks ago. But then 946 shows 531 00:41:21,180 --> 00:41:25,580 up so we should feel bad for the Usos now. Like I don't stuff like that. I leave questions 532 00:41:25,580 --> 00:41:30,100 on. But when you look at Smackdown, you got Cody and Randy. But then you have the heavyweight 533 00:41:30,100 --> 00:41:34,740 title picture. Like that's really good. You still have the stuff with, you know, trick 534 00:41:34,740 --> 00:41:39,700 and Corbin and Yachty and Carmelo and anybody else you want to throw the US title picture. 535 00:41:39,700 --> 00:41:44,900 That seems good. The Women's Division with the tag teams and the six women things and, 536 00:41:44,900 --> 00:41:49,820 you know, trying to get to Charlotte and Jade at some point. I feel good about that. The 537 00:41:49,820 --> 00:41:58,060 live Stephanie Becky Lynch dynamic on RAW is good. You know, the Chad Gable stuff is good. 538 00:41:58,060 --> 00:42:05,180 And to like I feel good about probably 85% of the storylines running in WWE. There is just 539 00:42:05,180 --> 00:42:10,040 the little bit of stuff that annoys me. But overall, it's like I can't outside of that 946 540 00:42:10,040 --> 00:42:15,500 Usos, LA and I solo Roman area. I'd and that might be cleared up when you get to get 541 00:42:15,500 --> 00:42:20,180 to survivor series. But that's the only area to show where I'm like, I don't know what they're 542 00:42:20,180 --> 00:42:24,460 doing there. But everything else I kind of have directions on at least. 543 00:42:24,460 --> 00:42:28,580 Yeah, it's been fun as of late and I really like the direction that both the companies are 544 00:42:28,580 --> 00:42:33,660 going in right now as we head into the fall and then sort of ramp things up before you know 545 00:42:33,660 --> 00:42:37,180 in the winter time and to rest of any season. I think it's been really, really good stuff lately 546 00:42:37,180 --> 00:42:41,500 from both WWE and AEW and that makes things exciting for us wrestling fans. I feel like we're 547 00:42:41,500 --> 00:42:47,020 talking more about storylines and the way things are going with both companies more often 548 00:42:47,020 --> 00:42:51,920 than just like new stories to kind of pass the time by. It's been more about the stories 549 00:42:51,920 --> 00:42:55,700 that are being built in both WWE and AEW right now. 550 00:42:55,700 --> 00:42:59,600 With that said, let's close up shop on this week's edition of SRTU.
