  authorist and poet is spoken word artis and I'm a native of Columbia, South
• 4:57
  Carolina. We're currently residing in Charlotte, North count and I am glad to

  be a part of this project. As we go along further details, I
• 5:05
  would actually introduce myself further into why I joined this project, and I thank
• 5:12
  everybody for tuning tuning in. It's a pleasure to get all the support that

  we need out here to always make something a little more pleasurable, to give
• 5:20
  back in the communities and be positive. So here I am Free Spirit and
• 5:27
  Free Spirit Journey, and thank you Angela for this opportunity. And she is

  talking about a book that we dropped about a week ago, two weeks ago,
• 5:43
  had been long ago, the Forgotten Queens, And I tell you,
• 5:53
  God dropped the thing in my spirit. I've been working with some women that
• 6:00
  incarcerated and just talking to these women and hearing their stories and just hearing,
• 6:06
  you know, just how they have to endure from day to day, and
• 6:14
  then to think back how long some of them have been incarcerated. One of
• 6:21
  the individuals that I had the opportunity to sit down and talk to, she
• 6:27
  was fifteen when she got incarcerated. She's now I think she's forty four.
• 6:34
  So these people have been incarcerated. Some of these people been incarcerated longer than
• 6:39
  I been on this earth. And it's just it's sad. And during the
• 6:46
  holiday season, I noticed that a lot of people have lost hope. They
• 6:53
  lose hope, they get depressed, they are stricken by grief. Here alone,
• 7:01
  I worked with the males too inside t c J. In the last
• 7:08
  week, we have had three suicides and two attempts. And that's just in
• 7:15
  one unit of guys that I worked with, And it's just sad. One
• 7:23
  of the guys was eleven months from coming home and being able to be with
• 7:28
  his family, and it's just like he just gave up, he lost hope
• 7:31
  and he committed suicide. So when this was dropped in my spirit, I
• 7:40
  said, you know what I said, let me get some queens together to
• 7:43
  help me share some encouragement with these women and to be able to provide some
• 7:49
  hope. What does hope look like for you and sound like for you,
• 7:55
  Miss Tammy? When when when I said hope, what were you think when
• 8:01
  I said we about to try to read? Well? What looked like for
• 8:09
  me is anything is possible through God. Anything is possible through God that can
• 8:18
  bring new life, new revelation, new chances for you know people or the
• 8:26
  queens that are incarcerated, or men that are incarcerated, and just you know,
• 8:31
  just basically feeling that the innocence of someone outside of themselves can show them
• 8:39
  some type of sense of respect, of love and appreciation and hoping that our
• 8:46
  words are impactful to them to keep their hope alive that one day God can
• 8:52
  open those doors and like I said, give them new chances, a new
• 8:56
  revelation. Right, So I know with me, I didn't just think about
• 9:05
  those that are physically in prison. I was also thinking about those that are
• 9:11
  on the outside that sometimes we are in prison in the mind where we are
• 9:20
  we're closed mind, that we're not able to think because of whatever may be
• 9:26
  going on. And I thought about those people too, because I say,
• 9:31
  you know what, everybody's not do this hopeless because they're behind prison, while
• 9:37
  there's people out here that are free that sometimes feel like they're hopeless. Because
• 9:43
  I can tell you I've been at a point where I couldn't even couldn't even
• 9:48
  see past five foot in front of me. I felt hopeless. And I'm
• 9:54
  grateful that you guys decided to share in this anthology and to provide hope.

  But besides this anthology, you are a master pinterest because you have payned a
• 10:11
  lot of works. I tell you, you, you you you be all
• 10:16
  over the place with your poetry. When I tell y'all, she can do
• 10:24
  some things with some words, she can do some things with some words.

  She is amazing spoken word artist. And I tell you she is gifted.

  She has how many books out now? This is my fourth book that I
• 10:43
  just recently published in November. The first my fourth book, and this is
• 10:48
  my sixth anthology book. As a co author within less than three years.

  Wow, and she's been she been writing. Yes, I have been putting
• 11:01
  it some work, you know, because I definitely far as my career.
• 11:07
  It keeps my time occupied. Definitely, I still have our everyday work life,
• 11:11
  but I'm pretty much a behind the scenes craft type person where you know,
• 11:16
  God will allow my strength to multitask in between time of availability and sometimes
• 11:22
  I'm not always available for myself to do it, but I make it happen
• 11:26
  and get it done, you know, in between giving back to the community
• 11:30
  volunteering as well. So it's just an honor to that, you know.
• 11:35
  God allowed me to rebirth my words and have it manifested in publication, to
• 11:41
  be able to give back to the world global wise, and to reflect on
• 11:46
  what you were saying about being in a prison of our own minds. You're
• 11:50
  right. Sometimes I call it isolation, conditioned isolation, you know. So
• 11:56
  conditioned isolation sometimes helped me rebirthday as well, and so that I won't become
• 12:03
  consumed with what society had. So so publishing books and put my poetry into
• 12:11
  publication is a blessing and I'm just grateful, you know, I'm grateful and
• 12:16
  I'm grateful for the publisher, Black Ring Publishing Media, she Kim Stevens.

  She's she's been very helpful behind the scenes with me putting in network. So
• 12:28
  I am just grateful and with yourself giving me opportunities to be a part of
• 12:31
  your collaboration. So I am honored that you women played a factor in my
• 12:35
  life and Free Spirit's journey. So thank you for that. And I love

  I love your name free Spirit. I mean it truly, it truly fits
• 12:48
  you. But how did you get that name? Well, like I said,
• 12:56
  names years ago, when I first was looking for a stage name,

  poetic name, and God led me to Solved fifty one, I actually got
• 13:07
  it out of the Bible, believe it or not. So I've gotten it
• 13:11
  out of the Bible, and that's what God planned in me, and I
• 13:13
  took off with it. So it remains and I definitely turned it into a
• 13:20
  ministry. So it came from the Bible. It was, it was given
• 13:28
  to me from God. Most go, Well, it definitely it definitely fits
• 13:33
  you because you're definitely a free Spirit. I truly appreciate you. I tell
• 13:43
  you. She take hiatuses from social media because of her spiritual journey and sometimes
• 13:52
  she's on and sometimes she's off, but it does does not matter how long
• 13:56
  she's away. When she comes back, she is check in and if she
• 14:01
  if we're doing a project, if we're doing something, she would jump on
• 14:05
  it without hesitation. And I tell you to to just have someone like her
• 14:13
  that she she don't know, but she really encourages me. She really pushed
• 14:20
  me. I see her out doing a lot of stuff in the community,

  giving back. I may see her at different events, spoken word events,
• 14:31
  different community when I tell you, she truly gives back to the community.

  She's truly a community oriented person. And I want to encourage you guys to

  and prayed for, and I hope that our words encouraged them and keep them

  inspired and motivate them, let them know that there are people out here praying

  and rooting them on, and hopefully God will open those doors give them a
• 20:55
  sense of liberation. And as of right now, I'm on a sabbatical,

  So my sabbatical that whatever the most decided for me to stay on another length
• 21:03
  of time. I will probably be purging from social media at this time,

  and like I said, I only logged on because of the interview I have
