- 2:42a little bit different considering what took place Saturday evening in Butler, Pennsylvania.
- 2:46Let me let me take care of some housekeeping first. I told you on
- 2:51Friday that I would have Tim Brady from the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau schedule
- 2:55to come on to talk about the success of the bike event that happened in
- 3:00Charleston in May. The Dollars and Cents report that came out of that was
- 3:06simply great for the city of Charleston and for the entire Canal Valley. I
- 3:10talked to Tim about it yesterday and we kind of came to the collective decision
- 3:16that it may be best to postpone his appearance on the show today. So
- 3:21instead, Tim's going to be on the show on Thursday. I did have
- 3:27Tony Hodge, who was with the State Republican Party, schedule for the show
- 3:30today as well. I'm going to keep that appointment with him. He's going
- 3:34to join us a little bit later on in the show. But I wanted
- 3:38to take the time this morning to talk about the attempt on the life of
- 3:44former president and Republican nominee again for the presidency, Donald Trump Saturday evening in
- 3:50Pennsylvania. Now, this may very well become one of those Well, let
- 3:59me back up before I get into my thing. I want to say this.
- 4:01I am more in I'm going to give some of my thoughts, but
- 4:05on the show today, at least for the first couple of segments, I
- 4:09am more interested in your thoughts. So if you'd like to call me,
- 4:14you can do that. Ryan standing by and the hotline number for big Ley
- 4:17Pickley Wiggley three zero four three four five fifty eight fifty eight, or you
- 4:20can text Curtis give Tony the Taylor three zero four nine three five five zero
- 4:25zero eight. And that's one I want to keep the focus on today again.
- 4:29I'm gonna I'm gonna give my thoughts, but I'm more interested in what
- 4:32you have to think. All right, what you have to say. But
- 4:36it this may very well become one of those where were you type moments in
- 4:45American history. I could tell you I was at my house with my wife
- 4:47Saturday evening, sitting down, getting ready to have dinner. And uh,
- 4:56you know, we dinner at six o'clock in my house because you know,
- 4:58we're we're all U. I'm getting out, getting ready to you know,
- 5:00chout down on some on some grilled salmon. UH. Had the had the
- 5:05TV on one of the local newscasts, UH, just kind of in the
- 5:10background, and a friend called me and asked me if I was watching the
- 5:14national news, and I told him that I was not. And I quickly
- 5:18flipped over, and much like many of you, was was horrified by what
- 5:28I saw. And at this particular time, I mean this was literally they
- 5:31when I saw it. They we didn't know. They didn't know whether he
- 5:35was actually shot or not. They they didn't know, because I mean literally,
- 5:39this was just as it had happened. But I was horrified, as
- 5:45I'm sure many of you were as well. As I said, there was
- 5:48still some question at that particular time as to whether it was a shooting or
- 5:54some sort of fireworks or whatever. Uh. We later learned, of course,
- 6:00that it was indeed shots fired at the former president, and since then
- 6:05it has been NonStop coverage from all of the major news channels CNN, Fox,
- 6:14NBC, the network's MSNBC online of course too, And I thought long
- 6:20and hard about how to address this. You know, this morning, it
- 6:26has been over forty years since we had an attempt on the life of a
- 6:32president or former president. I am. I'm not old enough to remember the
- 6:39chaos of the sixties with the assassinations of JFK, RFK, Martin Luther King,
- 6:43Malcolm X, and others. But I am old enough to remember the
- 6:46March Day in nineteen eighty one, when John Hinckley Junior attempted to kill President
- 6:53Reagan. I also remember when when John Lennon was killed and when the Pope
- 6:58was shot, and of course nine to eleven. Uh, But it's been
- 7:00a while since something like that happened here. So I guess the question this
- 7:10morning is how how did we get to this this place? Now? There's
- 7:19a lot of unknowns, Because, of course the shooter was was killed.
- 7:25We know, we have his identity, We know that it was a gun
- 7:28that was apparently purchased legally from from from from the from the kid's father.
- 7:32But we don't We don't really know a whole lot. But how did we
- 7:39get to a place where we are seemingly so consumed with the destruction of people
- 7:53or ideals that we see as differently than us. Now, as I said
- 8:01about the shooter, we know this he was a registered Republican but had donated
- 8:07to democratic causes. He appeared to be a bit of a loner. People
- 8:13who went to high school with him described him as being someone who had little
- 8:18of any friends and one who kind of stood out because of that. So
- 8:26is that what led him to try to assassinate a former president and the presumptive
- 8:33Republican nominee this year. And when you talk about Donald Trump, it's a
- 8:39guy who despied all of his issues, in my opinion, was well on
- 8:45his way to becoming the next president of the United States. And by the
- 8:50way, what happened on Saturday in Butler, in my opinion, put the
- 8:54exclamation point on that Donald Trump will now for sure be the next president of
- 9:00the United States of America. But I think this goes well beyond that,
- 9:07because who is responsible for what happened Saturday evening in Butler, Pennsylvania. Again,
- 9:15there are so many questions unanswered. I mean, was this a political
- 9:20extremist, as I said, a registered Republican but who had donated to democratic
- 9:24causes, so we don't really know. Or if you recall John Hinckley Junior
- 9:31who attempted to assassinate President Reagan in nineteen eighty one, did it to impress
- 9:35Jodie Foster Mark David Chapman, The person that killed John Lennon in December of
- 9:41nineteen eighty was mad because he felt John and Yoko broke up the Beatles.
- 9:46So not everything has a political bent to it. And all of this,
- 9:52as best you know, will will will come out at some point when the
- 9:56investigations continue. But as for Saturday evening, who ultimately is responsible? And
- 10:07I'm going to say that we are. We have allowed ourselves to be spoon
- 10:15fed, in many cases erroneous information that the other side is the enemy,
- 10:22using language like libtards, trump tards, deplorables, etc. We blame the
- 10:30media. I mean that was a common christ Saturday night. NBC reported that
- 10:35one man flipped off an NBC reporter and said to this lady, you caused
- 10:41this the media. We blame social media. I blame social media. Social
- 10:52media is somewhat responsible, but someone has to write the crap that dominates X
- 10:58from a Twitter and Facebook, unless it's bots, which is a whole other
- 11:05issue for a whole other time. The problem here, my opinion, more
- 11:11interested in yours, which I'll get to the problem here is mister missus America
- 11:16and mister and missus w CCHS listener. The problem is us. We allowed
- 11:22ourselves to get sucked in to a cesspool of lies, hate and misinformation.
- 11:33We sometimes blindly follow and buy and of lies that we see posted daily online.
- 11:39We don't want the news, We want so called facts that back up
- 11:46our preconceived notions. So what happened to us? We used to be able
- 11:54to agree, to disagree, but at the very least listen to what the
- 12:01other side says. I mean, I get vile, downright vile messages directed
- 12:09toward me when I have someone like State Democratic Party chair and Delegate Mike Pushkin
- 12:13on the show. I get the same when I have Greg Thomas on the
- 12:16show. When I've had Don Blanket Chip on the show, you would think
- 12:22I was having Satan himself on the show because I dare to give up a
- 12:26time slot or to use the current terminology to platform him. Folks, we
- 12:35gotta figure this out because listen up, either Donald Trump or Joe Biden,
- 12:43and it looks like Biden is staying in. One of those two is going
- 12:46to be the next president of the United States of America. And you may
- 12:52not want to admit it, but they are going to be your president.
- 13:01Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush,
- 13:07Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and
- 13:09Joe Biden. All of them were my presidents, whether I agreed with them
- 13:16or not. And at the end of the day, Republican, Democrat or
- 13:22Independent, or whatever your party is. You are an American and we have
- 13:28the privilege of living in the greatest country on God's green earth. The fact
- 13:37that we can even have these discussions should tell you that. The fact that
- 13:43I get to set in this chair Monday through Friday and even have these discussions
- 13:48and sometimes a little fun too, should let you know that. And I
- 13:56have been very clear by saying almost daily on this show that in my opinion,
- 14:01neither Joe Biden or Donald Trump are fit to be president. But as
- 14:05my late granny used to say, you can want in one hand and you
- 14:09know what in the other, and see which one gets filled up first.
- 14:15One of those two will be the next president. And we got to live
- 14:20with it. And for God's sakes, just stop stop with all the hate
- 14:28Republicans. Listen to me. Joe Biden, AOC, Kamala Harris, aren't
- 14:33your enemies. Democrats, Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Green, Matt Gates,
- 14:37they aren't your enemies. Your enemy is you. It's you buying into everything
- 14:45that you read online. It's letting Fox News and News out that who admitted
- 14:48in court they are not legitimate news to form your opinions. It's believing the
- 14:54same out of cn N, MSNBC, NEWSMAX. Someone who's got know,
- 15:00really any real relevance, but they got a Twitter account tell you what to
- 15:05think. If we are going to continue as a functional republic, we have
- 15:16to do better. I'm pro choice, you're pro life. You aren't my
- 15:22enemy, you are my fellow Americans. We just have a difference of opinion.
- 15:28We gotta we got we gotta do better, and we got to stop
- 15:33hating people that may think differently than us. That's where I am on this,
- 15:41And again, a whole lot of answer questions, and by the fact
- 15:52that the shooter is deceased, which I you know, I completely understand why
- 15:56they shot him. We there's a lot of questions are going to be left
- 16:03unanswered because of that. And again I'm not I'm not saying he shouldn't have
- 16:07been shot. He obviously should have. And then there's the whole response and
- 16:11how was he allowed to get up there to begin with? And all that's
- 16:15going to be going to be discussed and digested by people that are way smarter
- 16:21than I am. But it doesn't help, and I'm going to kind of
- 16:26retract something I said when I said, it's on us. It doesn't help
- 16:30when we use language saying that if Trump or Biden, if either one is
- 16:37elected, that it's the end of democracy as we know it. And Joe
- 16:41Biden's guilty of saying that. Donald Trump is guilty of saying that. I
- 16:47don't know that Ronald Reagan would have said that. I don't know that LBJ
- 16:52or John would have made statements like that. But they're just feeding into the
- 16:56mood of the country. So all right, I am going here's what we're
- 17:03gonna do. I'm gonna take a break. I got a bunch of texts
- 17:07to get to. If you want to call, You're more than welcome to

- 25:18I'll have a full review, of course, of the happenings tonight at
- 25:22City Council on on tomorrow's show See Texas. Over the weekend, national media
- 25:32interviewed former classmates of Thomas Crooks. In addition to saying he was a loner,
- 25:34they said he was consistently and vocally conservative as a Texter. All right,
- 25:44okay, I'm not gonna read that. I also want to remind you
- 25:47that Senator and sendate financi scher Eric tar will make a return appearance on the
- 25:51show tomorrow. I had the Senator on last week explaining his stance on the
- 25:56budget surplus. The guy proposed tax cuts, et cetera, et cetera.
- 26:02After the show, there were several texts of the show, and the Senator
- 26:06was listening and as he was leaving, and he got in touch with me
- 26:10and said, hey, I'd like to come back. I'd like to come
- 26:15back on your show to address the listeners. So if you were one of
- 26:18the ones that texted the show with comments or questions for Senator Tar, he

- 26:26Tari is you may not like the guy, you may not like his policies,
- 26:30but he is always always willing to come on this show and take phone
- 26:34calls and text and that's what we want. Tomorrow. He's going to be
- 26:40on the show Open Lines for at least two segments tomorrow with Senator Tar.
- 26:44So again, if you're one of the ones that had questions or texted after
- 26:48he left, he's on for a big part of the show tomorrow and he
- 26:51would love to take your phone calls. You got questions the Tar the tar

- 27:30that coming up a little bit later. On text says, ironically, the
- 27:33man who endorsed political gun violence, I could stand in the middle of Fifth
- 27:37Avenue and shoot somebody and wouldn't lose any voters. Okay, got shot,
- 27:41So it's okay for him to promote violence. But if he's the recipient,
- 27:45it is a big deal. Texas. Wanting someone politically dead is only wanting
- 27:52their politics or position defeated. Is very different from wanting, wanting, or
- 27:57acting on killing the opponent. Very good point, Trump, Texas. If
- 28:02Trump was responsible for January sixth, then this attempt our President Trump's life on
- 28:06years of evil, hate filled rhetoric by nasty pieces of blank like Biden,
- 28:11Deni, O Waters Chef, Madonna, Stris and Ryner. But Sheer O'Donnell,
- 28:15Oberman, et cetera are responsible for for July thirteenth, Texas Day,
- 28:22the right tried to blame everyone from veterans Antiva was the shooter. Okay,
- 28:30all right, So Tony Hodge is here. How you doing man, Good
- 28:36morning? How are you. Let me just say that I had Tony scheduled
- 28:40to be on the show, what like a week or two ago. I
- 28:42think you reached out to me. We were just talking and and you said
- 28:45that you had an availability to come in, and so I you made the
- 28:49cut. Tim Brady did not. Well, you know when we spoke last
- 28:53week, I everything that was going on last week revolved around the debate performance
- 28:59Big Boy Day in America. You know, there was a joke about that
- 29:02with Joe Biden's press conference, and so that's what I had in my mind
- 29:04when I was thinking about coming on today. We're just going to talk politics.
- 29:07But you know, in the course of human events, you never know
- 29:11when tragedy is going to strike. So, you know, I was talking
- 29:15to my wife last night and just you know, you're kind of unprepared for
- 29:19things like this when they pop up. But let me let me tell you
- 29:22a quick story. So it was less than a month ago. I was
- 29:25at the road to Majority conference in Washington, d C. And that conference
- 29:27takes place at the Washington Hilton. And if you don't know, the Washington
- 29:32Hilton is where President Ronald Reagan was shot in nineteen eighty one, and right
- 29:37at the exact place where he was shot, there's a plaque on the wall.
- 29:41It's a bronze plaque and it tells the story of what happened. And
- 29:45of course you can go on YouTube and you can you can watch that the
- 29:48whole event as it occurred on YouTube, and you can see on YouTube in
- 29:52nineteen eighty one in the way it looks in that location right now, it's
- 29:56it's pretty much identical. Nothing has changed, thing looks exactly the same.
- 30:00So when you're standing there, which I've done for the last two years,
- 30:03it's a surreal moment. You just have to stand there, read the plaque
- 30:07and kind of reflect like, wow, this this really happened. And the
- 30:11thing that's interesting for me is I'm a little younger than you, so that
- 30:15that event, that that event with Reagan was actually before I was even born.
- 30:19And so I'm standing there. Did you really need to go there?
- 30:22So I'm standing there, I'm standing there thinking about this, and I'm thinking
- 30:26Wow, you know, nothing like that's ever happened in my lifetime. Of
- 30:30course, you hope that nothing like that ever does happen in your lifetime.
- 30:33And then here we are on Saturday. I took my family I live in
- 30:37Putnam County. I took them over to Eleanor Park and we were just having
- 30:41a little family time over there. We had a small picnic, and after
- 30:45the picnic, we were the kids were playing on the playground and my wife
- 30:48and I were walking around the playground on the sidewalk there, and all of
- 30:52a sudden, my son ran over to me and said that his phone went
- 30:55off and that Trump had been shot. So, of course, immediately our
- 30:59family came to an end and we got our phones out. Oh my goodness,
- 31:02you know, uh, just tragic news to come at us like that.
- 31:07But I want to go real quick to one thing that one of your
- 31:11text are said, and I can't repeat it verbatim of what person one about
- 31:15state religion. I'll tell you what because this is going to take a while,
- 31:19So I'll read the text when we come back from the break, because
- 31:23I'm going to give you adequate time. Sure, And again Tony is willing
- 31:27to take phone calls right, you know, yeah, absolutely, So if
- 31:30you want to call him, you're more than welcome to do. Have a

- 34:30Tony Hodge of the State Republican Party is here. Tony, thank you for
- 34:34joining us this morning. I did want to address a text that we had
- 34:37earlier, but I want to give you plenty of time to do it.
- 34:39It's said, I'll repeat. Please ask Tony Hodge how those who want to
- 34:44establish Christianity as the state religion are not enemies of the Constitution. Yeah.
- 34:50I think that's an interesting text. So I don't necessarily know anyone who wants
- 34:52to establish Christianity as the state religion. But I will go all the way
- 34:58back to our founding and John Addam was one of our you know, most
- 35:00famous founding fathers, and he helped with with our declaration, he helped with
- 35:06our Constitution, and he has an interesting quote and it says this. He
- 35:08says our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. And I
- 35:15think there's a lot of power in those words. And he didn't say Christianity
- 35:17or anything like that, although I believe Christianity is, you know, is
- 35:21the way that we should go. But you know, when we see things
- 35:23like this come up. I heard your monologue at the beginning of the show.
- 35:28I don't watch a lot of TV news, although I did on Saturday.
- 35:31It's been four years since I've watched national television news, but I turned
- 35:34it on on Saturday. I've heard a lot of talking heads. I've heard
- 35:37a lot of opinions, and a lot of them are valid. You know,
- 35:39there's there's opinions coming from all directions, and they're all valid. But
- 35:43I'm going to tell you right now, it's the opinion of this guy talking
- 35:46in this mic right now, that it what we have here is a profound,
- 35:52profound spiritual problem. Nobody wants to talk about that. You know,
- 35:59everybody in this country. She wants to talk about the politics and all,
- 36:00well, the separation of church and state. We can't. We've gotten so
- 36:05so far down this hole that we can't even bring up spiritual matters on the
- 36:10radio, on the TV, in the public square anymore. This is this
- 36:15is really, this is the really sad part about our country. And I
- 36:19want to tell you this. The Bible says, I have it right here
- 36:21in Vision six twelve. It says we are not fighting against flesh and blood,
- 36:25but against the rulers. And authorities of the unseen world, against mighty
- 36:30powers in the dark world, and against evil spirits and heavenly places. Everybody
- 36:34wants to pay. Democrats versus Republicans, this group versus that group, this
- 36:38generation versus that generation. What we have is a spiritual problem, and it's
- 36:43it's a dire problem. And we have to turn back to what John Adams
- 36:47said, a moral and religious people. We have to be those people again
- 36:52there. I mean, it's a you know, yeah, I get,
- 36:58I get really wound up. But you know, Jesus said, in this
- 37:02world there will be many trials and sorrows, but take cart I have overcome
- 37:06the world. We have someone to turn to, and his name is Jesus
- 37:08Christ. And in times like this we need to turn to him. We
- 37:12need to pray, we need, you know. Second Chronicles, chapter seven
- 37:15says if my people, who are called by my name will turn from their
- 37:17evil ways and repent of their sins and look toward me, I will save
- 37:21their land. Now, the Lord was talking to the Hebrews back in that
- 37:24time. But that's a principle that we can follow today. I mean,
- 37:29you know, if we repent of our ways and turn from our evil ways,
- 37:32and look toward a higher being, a higher calling. He will forgive
- 37:37us. And that goes for any country. It's not just America, that's
- 37:39any country. If any country turns to the Lord, I believe the Lord's
- 37:43hand will be upon them. What we have here is a major, major,
- 37:46major spiritual problem. We have to turn this country back to God.
- 37:52And I get sick and tired of all the you know, we've gotten so
- 37:57far to a point where, like I said earlier, we can't even about
- 38:00christian Oh. Oh, I can't bring up anything about Christianity or anything about
- 38:04religion because you know that might offend somebody or whatever. What we have now,
- 38:07we've actually turned away from the Christian uh uh moral standard in this country
- 38:13into what I like to call the state morality. And what that is is
- 38:15it's it's a morality that really is not based on any higher standard. It's
- 38:20just based on whatever the political ruling class want to say and the corporate world
- 38:24wants to say. And if you don't tow a certain line in the corporate
- 38:29world these days, you you could end up losing your job, You could
- 38:34be taken down, you know, if you don't follow I don't know all
- 38:38the prescriptions that they put out there on all these social issues. If you
- 38:42don't follow that, now you will be taken down politically in your career all
- 38:47sorts of ways. It's wrong. I'm here to tell you we have got
- 38:52to turn off this garbage up here on this TV. We need to get
- 38:55down on our knees. We needed to get our Bible out and we need
- 38:58to start praying to the Lord that he will heal our land and heal our
- 39:00hearts. Our hearts need healed, our moral compass needs refocused. I don't
- 39:09disagree, but I mean I hate to say. Let me play Devil's advocate
- 39:14here. Can can we return to morality without without without religion? In your
- 39:19opinion? Simply because it's and I'm not being argumentative with you. I identify
- 39:24as a Christian, okay. But there will be those that will say when
- 39:30you talk about turning to God, they'll say, which God? When we
- 39:32talk about putting the Ten Commandments on the in the classrooms of It's all well
- 39:37and good until it becomes we want the Kuran in there, or we want
- 39:42or some other religion that's may may not mean, but and fewer and fewer
- 39:45people we're America is catching up good or bad with the rest of the world
- 39:50and basically becoming non religious. That's that's kind of where we're headed. So
- 39:55oh, we're not headed there, we are there, well, but I
- 39:58mean numb ers are getting or more and more of your people who don't identify
- 40:02with a religion or I guess my original question though, before we get even
- 40:07more off TRACKA than that's my fault. That's the way I am is can
- 40:12we return to this moral compass that you're talking about without religion saying we should?
- 40:19But can we? Well, I mean it's a I mean, I'm
- 40:21a Christian. I follow the Lord Jesus Christ. It's in my opinion that
- 40:23I want to follow the God of love, and that's the Lord Jesus.
- 40:27It's what you know the Holy Bible talks about. That's the God that that
- 40:30I follow and the God that I will advocate for and defend. Let me
- 40:34tell you this so I'll tie this back into politics because since we're we got
- 40:37to get to some text here just real quick. So there's this book.
- 40:39It's called Life in the Negative World. It's by Aaron Wren. It's a
- 40:43really interesting book. This guy, it's he's a he's an actual a business
- 40:46intellectual. But anyway, he talks about how we had the positive world of
- 40:52Christianity, the neutral world, and now we're in the negative world. So
- 40:53back in the nineteen fifties and prior, it was just normal for Christianity to
- 40:59be you know, you had to be a Christian, run for office,
- 41:01you had to be you know, everybody was Christian. Let's just short it
- 41:05down and just say generally speak, Yeah, everybody that you knew in your
- 41:08community, you know, you went to church or whatever. And then in
- 41:13roughly the mid nineteen sixties, from the sixties to the nineties, he says,
- 41:15things start to go on a downward slide. And he said, but
- 41:19that's still the positive world. And then in the mid nineties up to the
- 41:22up to about twenty fourteen, he said that was the neutral world, where
- 41:25Christianity has never not really seen it as a positive and it's not really seeing
- 41:29it as a negative. And then he said there was a huge shift in
- 41:31twenty fourteen, the second term of Barack Obama up until today where Christianity now
- 41:37is actually seen as a negative, which is kind of what I'm getting out
- 41:38here. It's seen as a negative. We don't want to talk about it.
- 41:40We run from it. We you know, you know, we just
- 41:45don't want to bring it up. And he gives three examples in these different
- 41:49eras to talk about the positive world, the neutral world, and the negative
- 41:52world. In the positive world, nineteen eighty seven, Gary Hart ran for
- 41:55the Democratic nomination for president. He was the shoe in. He had it.
- 42:00Yeah, I mean, he had the nomination. Then news broke that
- 42:02he had an apparent affair on his wife and the Democratic Party. He was
- 42:07the Democratic going to be the Democratic nominee. The Democratic Party said, hey,
- 42:10you know what, this is outrageous. We're not going to put up
- 42:14with this. There's no way that we're going to allow this man to be
- 42:15our nominee. And they threw him out and they got Michael Dukaucus in there,
- 42:20and they ended up losing the election. Okay, that was in the
- 42:22positive world. That's when people saw Christianity as a positive. Now moved to
- 42:25the neutral world from the mid nineties up until the twenty fourteen. One example
- 42:30the book gives in there is he had President Clinton, he had a White
- 42:35House affair with a very young intern. Now he had to weather a storm.
- 42:40He got impeached. They threw things at him, but he weathered it
- 42:45and he got through it. They didn't throw him out. He got through
- 42:47it. That was the neutral world. And now when we live in the
- 42:50negative world, where our society sees Christianity as a negative. Now people all
- 42:57over the country running for offices all over the place. Moral character and what
- 43:01defines you morally doesn't matter. Left right, it doesn't matter. I'll give
- 43:06you a good example that Donald Trump, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter
- 43:08what side you're on. In the negative world, where Christianity is now seen
- 43:14as a negative and we have enemies of Christianity, moral character doesn't matter,
- 43:17and it only stands the reason. And what's funny to me is when I
- 43:20hear people come on your show, Democrat party leaders, they'll come on your
- 43:23show and just like you said, they'll bring up a Donald Trump, you
- 43:27know, and they'll say his moral character, and you know, they'll throw
- 43:30all this out there. Well, of course I advocate for people with moral
- 43:34character, but it's real rich to me that they would come on here and
- 43:37say that, because to me, it's very hypocritical, because you know,
- 43:43for years and years and years, and I'm talking decades the left has promoted
- 43:47im morality. Look at the Hollywood and the media and the things that are
- 43:52shoved down our throats all the time with debauchery and nudity and filth and all
- 43:58this stuff. They cram all this stuff down our throat, and then when
- 44:01leaders turn out to have this kind of character, all of a sudden,
- 44:05they cry foul. I think they're hypocrites, but I will say they're hypocrites
- 44:09on both sides, all right, to be fair, all right, we

- 47:21agree that Americas at a crossroads. Our discourse is horrendous and both Republicans and
- 47:24Democrats need to tone it down. I still believe we are almost forced to
- 47:29choose between two candidates that are not the best ones we could offer. While
- 47:34people will disagree with me, I could never vote for Donald Trump for anything,
- 47:37says a text Texas said, you asked the question that cannot be answered
- 47:43with one sentence. This has been still as the most horrible social experiment of
- 47:46all times, testing the moral compass of human beings. You can stoperating here
- 47:51if you want, well, I'm going to have to because it's too long,
- 47:52sorry, Tex says Dave. Tell Tony, it's as simple today.
- 47:55You're not allowed to mention God unless you give him a last name. And
- 47:59we know what that is as in d Tex says, dear Tony, marry

- 48:08and all, if you want to leave out the part about most of
- 48:12them acting actually being criminals, but whatever makes you feel better, Tex says.
- 48:15Most of those who denounce God and Christianity do not want to be held
- 48:19accountable to anyone or any deity for their behaviors, their words, their actions,
- 48:23so they deny He exists in attempts to justify their behaviors. Tex says,
- 48:29go on YouTube, watch the frightening chaos and nine to eleven after the
- 48:31towers fell, you hear a lot of calls for help from God and his
- 48:34son, Jesus Christ. Have Tony Hodge explain how any the peaceful transfer of
- 48:37power. Encouraging an attack on the Capitol and then ratifying it after the fact
- 48:42by calling January sixth criminals, political prisoners and hostages that are very special,
- 48:45isn't a threat to democracy? Yeah, I mean it's a foregone conclusion.
- 48:50I condemned the events that happened at the Capitol. I guess it's referred to
- 48:52on January sixth. I mean, I'm not a fan of that at all
- 48:55and never have advocated for it. But back to what I was saying earlier,
- 48:59what we need to do is we need to this country needs a great
- 49:04awakening. You know, we had three or four great awakenings over the course
- 49:07of our country. And what's happened over the last several years is we have
- 49:10been fully immersed, baptized into what I call the great Awokening. We've been
- 49:16so obsessed with see what you did there, Yeah, I mean woken.
- 49:21Yeah, we've been so obsessed with all this woke foolishness that we've lost our
- 49:25moral compass. We've lost even if we try, if we try to,
- 49:30if we try to say we're doing moral things, we have no standard by
- 49:34which to call our actions moral or immorl if we don't have a higher standard
- 49:37other than us to compare it to. And so that's the thing is,
- 49:42we're so wrapped up in the great Awakening, and what we really need is
- 49:44a great awakening, and I'm ready for it. Dave Allen showing five Veney
- 49:47Live has brought you parted by Mortgaan and Mortgan, America's largest injury law firm.
- 49:52Tony says the text black folks and women weren't allowed to vote, let
- 49:55alone consider full humans two hundred and fifty years ago. Many still are treated
- 49:59that way. What part of Congress shall make no law respecting and establishment of
- 50:04religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof? Do you not understand? Well?
- 50:07The truth of the matter is that it's the Christian religion that actually fought to
- 50:13bring Actually it laid the groundwork in the foundation for the arguments against slavery,
- 50:19for the arguments against the suppression of women, for the arguments against all of
- 50:23our you know, during the civil rights time, if you look at what
- 50:25Martin Luther King Junior, when he would get up and speak, you know,
- 50:29his letters from a Birmingham jail. It was addressed to clergy. That
- 50:31letter was addressed to the clergy. Every argument that he used in the civil
- 50:36rights era back in the nineteen fifties and sixties was based on the Christian standard,
- 50:42the Christian morality. If it wasn't for Christianity, slavery could still be
- 50:45going on in this country. Women could still be suppressed, there could still
- 50:50be segregation. I mean, we may not even have hospitals. You know,
- 50:52Christians created the first hospitals several centuries ago. There's so much it's like
- 50:59the Christian world world view. What we see with what Christianity breaths, it
- 51:01almost brings It's almost like the air we breathe. It's like, you don't
- 51:06know. It's like a fish. You know, the fish doesn't know he's
- 51:07in water and toy's out of it. We don't know that a lot of
- 51:09the good things around us are actually part of the Christian worldview because it's the
- 51:14air we breathe. One day, one day you're gonna say, boy,
- 51:16I wish I hadn't taken that for granted. But Dave Allen showing five eighty
- 51:20Live, presented in part by General Hardware of Windfield and Melton, General Lumber

- 51:27dot com. All right, so I'm gonna give you thirty seconds here.
- 51:30Let's get off the religion thing for a moment. Let's let's get back to
- 51:34what we saw. How do we get political discourse back as part of the
- 51:39mainstream againning Now, now you've got twenty seconds, so go ahead. Okay,
- 51:43yeah, you said get off the religious thing. Sorry, David's who
- 51:45I know. No, No, it's no, no, it's who I
- 51:47am. And the answer is you asked a question. My answer is we
- 51:51have to turn our hearts back to God. We have to show love toward
- 51:54one another and not hate, even people that we disagree with. I disagree
- 51:58with people all the time. I disagree with you on everything. We have
- 52:00several disagreements in your on you know one of my best friends. We have
- 52:04to show love to one another. We have to turn back to God.
- 52:06We have to set that standard higher. Like I said earlier, Jesus said,
- 52:10in this world there will be trials and sorrows, but take heart,
- 52:14I have overcome the world. One more thing I want to say before we
- 52:15get off the air, the guy, the guy that passed away. He
- 52:20passed away protecting his wife and daughter. God bless him, you know,
- 52:23Jesus said. Jesus said, no greater love hath a man than those who
- 52:29laid down a life for his friends. And that's what that man did.
- 52:30That was true love right there, he's commended. All right, we gotta
- 52:34go. Also, I understand from a programming know we are going to be
- 52:36carrying the Republican National Convention on w c Radio great all week. All right,
- 52:40gotta go, Tony, Thank you so much to me coming up at
- 52:43ten oh six. I will see you tomorrow. Till then, have fun
- 52:45and less somebody, let's do my lines see it, s am. And
- 52:57he's six point five stick one four point five cross late on WVRC Media station.
