- 1:27SPEAKER_05: Hi, everyone, and thank you, Joyce, for having me back on your show.
- 1:35SPEAKER_05: It has been a definite journey, the journey of a rodeo ride is what I call it.
- 1:43SPEAKER_05: My name is Joanne Moise Routier.
- 1:46SPEAKER_05: I am from Ontario, Canada, and I am more than pleased to I am honored, excited to share that I am now a new author to a brand new book that is launching on December 15th.
- 2:02SPEAKER_05: And it has been quite the experience of where I am here today.
- 2:11SPEAKER_05: I am also a certified grief specialist.
- 2:16SPEAKER_05: included with my credentials of being a horse-facilitated personal development coach.
- 2:25SPEAKER_05: So I have been busy, shall we say, in updating my credentials.
- 2:33SPEAKER_05: Not only that, what I share here is my healing journey and the pathway to getting me to where I stand today.
- 2:46SPEAKER_05: So that is who I am.
- 2:48SPEAKER_05: Oh,
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: wow.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: And that is just beautiful.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: A beautiful description of everything that you are doing, girl, in this world to make it a better place because, oh, how you are and being a grief specialist and a new author now with the book just being released in just about eight days.
- 3:10UNKNOWN: Yes.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: And that is so exciting.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: And a horse personal development coach.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: The pictures of you and your horses, they just touch my heart.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: They warm my heart in so many ways.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: And I love how you said it has just been a rodeo ride the last while.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: And with the title being A Heart Whisperer, how would you like to start to share with our listeners today a about the ride that you have been on and the experiences that have happened in the past little over a year now.
- 3:51SPEAKER_05: Thank you very much for your beautiful words again.
- 3:54SPEAKER_05: And this rodeo ride is exactly the only way that I can express what this journey of a mother's grief has been.
- 4:09SPEAKER_05: I lost Jesse, my son, August 2022.
- 4:13SPEAKER_05: And the ride of grief, how can I say that?
- 4:21SPEAKER_05: Picture yourself on a wild horse for the first time that's never been touched, that's never been touched.
- 4:28SPEAKER_05: humanly handled, unknown to anything of what you perceive to be a horse that you're going to saddle and ride.
- 4:38SPEAKER_05: Well, that horse is going to say, uh-uh, you don't belong here.
- 4:44SPEAKER_05: I don't want you on my back, so I'm going to buck you off.
- 4:48SPEAKER_05: And that's what happened the day that I got the call that my son passed.
- 4:55SPEAKER_05: I was totally, totally shocked.
- 4:58SPEAKER_05: bucked off the ride of life.
- 5:03SPEAKER_05: And in my journey, I was taming the wild horse, which the wild horse I'm going to say was the death of me into the rebirth of my new self.
- 5:22SPEAKER_05: And in...
- 5:26SPEAKER_05: Part of my healing in this grief journey of mine as a mother, I was introduced to the health care system in my area.
- 5:41SPEAKER_05: That is where I found to be broken because I was that mother that was not on her knees but on her butt on the floor because knees was even too high to be up on.
- 5:56SPEAKER_05: And I reached out because I knew I was in trouble.
- 5:59SPEAKER_05: I needed help, and I needed help in the grieving world with the specialist.
- 6:08SPEAKER_05: And long story short, I found that the health care system is so broken in my area that one of my last attempts via phone call And I will leave names unknown.
- 6:26SPEAKER_05: I was told that there was a waiting list for eight months to a year.
- 6:36SPEAKER_05: And I just about, I couldn't fall anymore.
- 6:41SPEAKER_05: And my words were, I cannot believe that you actually can tell another human being this whenever they are at the mercy of health.
- 6:53SPEAKER_05: I got off that phone call, and I said, what has become of this world for grieving mothers, let alone anybody who has lost anyone or anything of value, of importance to their heart, and they're shattered.
- 7:12SPEAKER_05: Their world became shattered, right?
- 7:15SPEAKER_05: So I said, I know what I have to do, and I have to become...
- 7:22SPEAKER_05: a resource to be helping other grieving hearts because there was very little resource.
- 7:32SPEAKER_05: Yes, I did see a private counselor.
- 7:35SPEAKER_05: I had no choice to see one-on-one and actually any grief group that would have been available, which there were none at the time, I wasn't strong enough to go out in public anyway, so I just had the one-on-one.
- 7:50SPEAKER_05: And with that one-on-one, it introduced me step-by-step a little bit of help in my grief, little by little.
- 8:03SPEAKER_05: And then I reached out to the grief specialist in California.
- 8:11SPEAKER_05: His name is David Kessler.
- 8:13SPEAKER_05: He was just starting out.
- 8:15SPEAKER_05: talk about divine timing.
- 8:17SPEAKER_05: He was just starting his second certification course coming up in a week.
- 8:25SPEAKER_05: And needless to say, it didn't take me too long.
- 8:30SPEAKER_05: I registered for it.
- 8:32SPEAKER_05: I knew it was part of my healing, but I also knew it was part of my destiny to become that certified grief specialist and And I was going to be amalgamating it with my horses, the options of amalgamating it with my horses because I live in Canada.
- 8:53SPEAKER_05: Of course, winter can be a little daunting at times to be outside to have a healing session with the horses.
- 9:02SPEAKER_05: So I've opened my doors to my home to have these people still have...
- 9:12SPEAKER_05: the feel, the energy of what I offer, the sacred space of what I offer.
- 9:22SPEAKER_05: And I knew that it was going to be a new journey into my own healing, like I said, and then to help others.
- 9:35SPEAKER_05: The biggest piece came to me Whenever I was journaling, I'm an avid journaler.
- 9:42SPEAKER_05: I write.
- 9:43SPEAKER_05: And journaling was my own piece to my healing.
- 9:50SPEAKER_05: Actually, that's probably going to be another part of our series together, is what journaling actually does to someone and when they're actually going through something.
- 10:06SPEAKER_05: That's a whole different...
- 10:07SPEAKER_05: to talk about because it's a healing piece it was a healing piece for me and it was one Sunday that I was actually journaling through my tears and it hit me that I was going to that I don't know if it was God speaking to me I know it was.
- 10:37SPEAKER_05: The spirit was talking to me and actually said the words, this belongs in a book.
- 10:47SPEAKER_05: It was so strong in my tears.
- 10:49SPEAKER_05: I went out to the kitchen and I spoke to my husband and I said, call me crazy, but my journaling belongs in a book and it's going to help other grieving hearts.
- 11:05SPEAKER_05: And I told him how strong it was, and it was so powerful.
- 11:08SPEAKER_05: It was so strong with him, and I knew it.
- 11:11SPEAKER_05: You know when you know something when you know it.
- 11:15SPEAKER_05: And I knew it.
- 11:17SPEAKER_05: And the words that my husband could only master at the time was he looked at me with big eyes, and he said, wow, now that is powerful.
- 11:30UNKNOWN: Yeah.
- 11:31SPEAKER_05: And my husband believes in me tremendously.
- 11:35SPEAKER_05: And, of course, when you see your loved one in such pain, and for me to step up, and that was the beginning of where I am at today in creating Heart Whispers.
- 11:54SPEAKER_05: Because as I step back here and what I just said is you know when you know...
- 12:01SPEAKER_05: to me I know for a fact that that was a heart whisper for me and as I carried on in my journaling and in my journey of being a student with my grief certification course twice a week for an hour and a half plus After live calls, this is not recorded.
- 12:31SPEAKER_05: This was live with David Kessler.
- 12:34SPEAKER_05: So I had the true guru of becoming the best of the best certified specialists out there.
- 12:43SPEAKER_05: It was also me being a student.
- 12:46SPEAKER_05: It was also me being in my healing journey.
- 12:51SPEAKER_05: And I amalgamated all of it, and I kept on journaling, and I kept on journaling, and I did my homework.
- 13:00SPEAKER_05: And that was a four-month piece of my journey that I knew that Heart Whispers was going to be a book.
- 13:15SPEAKER_05: And again, in divine timing, when it is true for you, you know in your heart, you feel it, you actually feel it, that you're on a path that you never thought possible, never even imagined, but you can feel it.
- 13:38SPEAKER_05: And in my counseling sessions with the one-on-ones, here she was speaking with me She explained to me, she said, your journaling is helping you so much to win.
- 13:57SPEAKER_05: And she described a children's book that she did.
- 14:04SPEAKER_05: And I had no idea she did a children's book.
- 14:07SPEAKER_05: And I said, really?
- 14:13SPEAKER_05: Would you mind passing me on your publisher's information?
- 14:19SPEAKER_05: And she did.
- 14:19SPEAKER_05: I reached out to Carolyn, which was the owner of the publishing company called Oxygen Publishing.
- 14:31SPEAKER_05: And I reached out to her via email, and we booked a phone call to have an interview.
- 14:41SPEAKER_05: I had to be interviewed to see if what I was proposing worked.
- 14:47SPEAKER_05: was even a possibility of a published book.
- 14:52SPEAKER_05: And she understood me from the bottom of my heart, from the core of my emotions and feelings about the loss of my son.
- 15:05SPEAKER_05: And she said, Joanne, I can't believe the vulnerability that you were actually willing to share to help other grieving hearts.
- 15:22SPEAKER_05: So she said she was going to be having a meeting with her team, which consisted of the editor, the proofreader, the designer, and the marketer, and all of that.
- 15:31SPEAKER_05: You know, she has a team.
- 15:33SPEAKER_05: So I just kind of left it, and the journey began on the day that I had the phone call from Carolyn and said that they would be honored and would be pleased to publish my book.
- 15:53SPEAKER_05: And it was like, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, this was so exciting.
- 15:57SPEAKER_05: But then I froze.
- 15:59SPEAKER_05: I froze in my tracks because I'm going, what did I do?
- 16:06SPEAKER_05: How am I going to do this?
- 16:12SPEAKER_05: Am I crazy?
- 16:14SPEAKER_05: You know, all those doubts that come in.
- 16:19SPEAKER_04: But
- 16:19SPEAKER_05: those doubts were weaker than what my knowings were that came through the day that I said, this belongs in the book.
- 16:28SPEAKER_05: That sentence stayed with me and still to today.
- 16:35SPEAKER_05: Because, like I said, I'm on a rodeo ride like I've never been in my life.
- 16:41SPEAKER_05: So...
- 16:43SPEAKER_05: those depths of those rides can create doubt so deep that you do give up on the journey.
- 16:52SPEAKER_05: And Carolyn was so gracious in her inspiration to keep the momentum for me to keep going.
- 17:02SPEAKER_05: And everything that I was going through was very normal.
- 17:06SPEAKER_05: And she understood grief.
- 17:08SPEAKER_05: She lost her father.
- 17:11SPEAKER_05: not very long before my journey of grief started.
- 17:19SPEAKER_05: So anyways, it went from there.
- 17:25SPEAKER_05: And believe this or not, I knew the title of the book, Heart Whispers.
- 17:35SPEAKER_05: I knew what it was going to be called before I even knew what the book content and context was going to be.
- 17:42SPEAKER_05: And I remember somebody asking me, how did you know that?
- 17:46SPEAKER_05: Where did that come from?
- 17:49SPEAKER_05: And I said, that's all part of my journey.
- 17:52SPEAKER_05: And my journey, where heart came from, is every time that I sat down, I had an open heart connection with my son, with God, with the angels, that allowed me to receive...
- 18:11SPEAKER_05: a lot of these words to be put together.
- 18:17SPEAKER_05: And my heart was so raw in the grief of pain of losing my son that I was so vulnerable to receive.
- 18:27SPEAKER_05: And of course, because I have strong faith, it was easy to come through to me.
- 18:40SPEAKER_05: So Whether it was the whispers from Jesse, whispers from God, whispers from the angels, whispers from spirit, they still came through loud and clear.
- 18:52SPEAKER_05: And I knew if it touched my heart, it was meant to be.
- 18:58SPEAKER_05: And let me tell you, not too much that I journaled was not coming through from my heart and whispers from above.
- 19:11SPEAKER_05: My veil became very, very thin, and I wouldn't trade any of it, any of it, for a split second.
- 19:23SPEAKER_05: So that's where the title came from, knowing that it was going to be called Heart Whispers, because it's true.
- 19:33SPEAKER_05: It's so authentic and so meaning and so powerful.
- 19:40SPEAKER_05: that it couldn't be anything but heart whispers because that's exactly what happened.
- 19:46SPEAKER_05: And part of my mission in all of this, yes, I do talk about grief because the book subtitle is called A Mother's Unfiltered Words of Grief.
- 20:00SPEAKER_05: It could be pretty daunting, scary, fearful to people.
- 20:07SPEAKER_05: that are already fearful of grief, but I am here with my book here to share my words of what I went through that can't get any truer because I wrote in the moment and I published what was in the moment.
- 20:30SPEAKER_05: And it cannot be any more real nor raw nor vulnerable.
- 20:37SPEAKER_05: And true to the fact of what grieving process for me looked like and my mission by probably the middle part two, part three, I'm starting to write about more true faith, more things that were starting to lighten up, that I was starting to see, and the fog starting to lift, the embers starting to flame up a little bit more within myself from my own heart.
- 21:18SPEAKER_05: Because trust me, anger, resentment, talk about being mad at God, absolutely.
- 21:27SPEAKER_05: not knowing where I was at.
- 21:28SPEAKER_05: There's a lot in this book to share, and that's why I am so grateful to be invited to do a series here, because it is rather important, I find, to be going through and helping the reader or anybody that is going through grief, that they're not alone.
- 21:48SPEAKER_05: And along the way, it's almost like Hansel and Gretel books.
- 21:52SPEAKER_05: You find...
- 21:54SPEAKER_05: the golden nuggets along your path.
- 21:58SPEAKER_05: And remember the path is yours, unique to you.
- 22:01SPEAKER_05: There is hope, is what I share.
- 22:06SPEAKER_05: There is light, but there is also an abundance of turbulence.
- 22:13SPEAKER_05: Let's face it.
- 22:15SPEAKER_05: It is hard, but it doesn't stay that way, and it won't stay that way forever.
- 22:21SPEAKER_05: This is a growing experience of a journey, of a piece of our life that are going through grief.
- 22:34SPEAKER_05: It's a journey of a piece.
- 22:36SPEAKER_05: You know, whenever you have a box of a beautiful puzzle that's on the cover, but inside you open it up and it's just a real mess.
- 22:47SPEAKER_05: until you start to pick up the pieces and put them together to create that beautiful scenery that you actually are seeing but aren't there quite yet.
- 23:03SPEAKER_05: So the pieces are what I offer in my book called Heart Whispers.
- 23:12SPEAKER_05: And what I share in the book is It may bring up, I know it will, not may, it will bring up some type of emotion, memory, something within the reader.
- 23:31SPEAKER_05: I left room in my book because the whole mission of this book is to help the reader go through.
- 23:41SPEAKER_05: You're not going to read from cover to cover and remember everything.
- 23:47SPEAKER_05: So I purposely, in my daily journals, left room for the reader to journal what has surfaced in the moment.
- 23:59SPEAKER_05: Because it's in the moment.
- 24:01SPEAKER_05: If something has surfaced, there is something that needs attention.
- 24:06SPEAKER_05: And I almost beg the reader, don't skip over it.
- 24:13SPEAKER_05: Take the time that is needed now.
- 24:18SPEAKER_05: If that emotion is calling your name, knock, knock, this doesn't feel good.
- 24:22SPEAKER_05: I want to hurry up and skip through this.
- 24:24SPEAKER_05: Oh, my gosh.
- 24:25SPEAKER_05: No, pay attention to what is actually being surfaced as you're reading and go through the process.
- 24:35SPEAKER_05: Write it.
- 24:36SPEAKER_05: Oh, here's an example.
- 24:39SPEAKER_05: You're reading and you're starting to feel teary-eyed.
- 24:42SPEAKER_05: You're starting to feel constricted throat, tight-chested.
- 24:47SPEAKER_05: tension that is speaking these words of emotions will speak to you physically when you actually pay attention to that physical knock it's meeting your love and attention because there was something in the past because grief will bring up old wounds unresolved wounds and And sometimes it can be trauma for people.
- 25:15SPEAKER_05: And it's okay.
- 25:17SPEAKER_05: I am here to say do not fear.
- 25:21SPEAKER_05: Do not fear what you're going through.
- 25:23SPEAKER_05: I'm here in the book holding your hand while you're going through this.
- 25:30SPEAKER_05: So it's crucially important to write things.
- 25:35SPEAKER_05: to journal what I have shared if and what comes up through the reader.
- 25:42SPEAKER_05: The space is right there.
- 25:43SPEAKER_05: There's no reason not to do it.
- 25:45SPEAKER_05: There's no excuse.
- 25:46SPEAKER_05: I would not bring somebody along a journey where there's nothing and no one there but a book.
- 25:54SPEAKER_05: No, I'm there with you.
- 25:56SPEAKER_05: The journaling space is there.
- 25:58SPEAKER_05: My name is on the book to be a resource, to reach out, to help.
- 26:04SPEAKER_05: And to find your own personal nuggets.
- 26:10SPEAKER_05: And you will.
- 26:11SPEAKER_05: All readers will find their nuggets.
- 26:15SPEAKER_05: And it may not seem possible at the beginning.
- 26:19SPEAKER_05: But it is there.
- 26:22SPEAKER_05: And it is more than possible.
- 26:26SPEAKER_05: It is a guarantee that you will find something for yourself while you are reading.
- 26:35SPEAKER_05: And in the closing of Heart Whispers, I also share where I no longer feared grief.
- 26:47SPEAKER_05: Now, that's a really big, big piece to share.
- 26:51SPEAKER_05: I respected grief.
- 26:54SPEAKER_05: Why?
- 26:56SPEAKER_05: Because of what it brought all out for me, through me, the increase of my faith, the connection to my son, the connection to spirit and God, looking at life a whole different way.
- 27:13SPEAKER_05: Why?
- 27:13SPEAKER_05: Because when my son died, I died as well.
- 27:19SPEAKER_05: But I also, through the process and my grieving, I was rebirthed.
- 27:26SPEAKER_05: And then the rebirth, as I hold this book in my hand, is a peace.
- 27:34SPEAKER_05: My book is that cover on that box of a puzzle.
- 27:39SPEAKER_05: It is fully put together.
- 27:41SPEAKER_05: And the ride, the rodeo ride that I'm on, I have less and less bucks.
- 27:52SPEAKER_05: Maybe there are bucks, but I'm not thrown off like I used to be.
- 28:00SPEAKER_05: So talk about being...
- 28:03SPEAKER_05: inspired and motivated with all the dips of tears and swollen heart of pain and not eating and I have everything to go with the grief but I also have the gift in my hand as I speak and looking at it the gift of the book called Heart Whispers to share with each and everyone who is on this journey of grief the experience is going to be her own unique experience and journey but you're not alone nobody is alone in this and you're not meant to be alone and this book going out into the world is a piece of my mission and I will preach and tell the cows and the horses come home that you can do this whoever you are you can do this So heart whispers, let your whispers speak to your own heart, and it will come through.
- 29:10SPEAKER_05: They do come through.
- 29:11SPEAKER_05: Trust me.
- 29:13SPEAKER_05: I've been there.
- 29:15SPEAKER_05: I am there, and I will always be there.
- 29:18SPEAKER_05: But the journey gets softer.
- 29:20SPEAKER_05: The roadway, the pathway is yours and uniquely yours.
- 29:25SPEAKER_05: There's no other footprints on it but yours and your God, your spirit, your belief, your faith.
- 29:32SPEAKER_05: So pull back the reins and hop on that horse and have a smooth ride because it can be done.
- 29:41SPEAKER_05: I am here proof and if I can do it, anybody can do it.
- 29:53SPEAKER_05: But not only that, I am here to help and to share and to guide.
- 30:00SPEAKER_05: So Don't ever give up because there will always be heart whispers.
- 30:08SPEAKER_05: And I can talk forever.
- 30:12SPEAKER_05: So that is a beautiful piece that I...
- 30:21SPEAKER_05: want to share with everyone, and I am so thrilled to be able to do that with you, Joyce, and to the grace of Divas That Care and the robust lifestyles that you host.
- 30:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so that's where I'm at.
- 30:39SPEAKER_05: And in closing, can I share what I wrote last December this day from my book?
- 30:51SPEAKER_05: Just a little piece.
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 30:55SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 30:55SPEAKER_02: And then please share where they can purchase the book from because this has been incredible.
- 31:02SPEAKER_02: I'm so glad we're live on audio.
- 31:06SPEAKER_02: I'm glad they didn't see my face because it was tears most of the time through all of this.
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: It was incredible, Joanne.
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: But, yes, please share that and please share how they can purchase your book.
- 31:20SPEAKER_02: That would be
- 31:21SPEAKER_05: awesome.
- 31:21SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 31:22SPEAKER_05: Oh, perfect.
- 31:23SPEAKER_05: Thank you so much.
- 31:25SPEAKER_02: You're welcome.
- 31:25SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 31:26SPEAKER_05: So in the book, last year, December 6th, is what I wrote.
- 31:32SPEAKER_05: And the title is, Gotta Be More.
- 31:35SPEAKER_05: Gotta be more to this.
- 31:37SPEAKER_05: Surely, I just am not given this experience of being crushed and found on the floor after being slammed into a brick wall, question mark.
- 31:48SPEAKER_05: No, there is more.
- 31:50SPEAKER_05: And this is bringing me to wonder what is more about this.
- 31:55SPEAKER_05: The beginning of a question period about the whys, what, who, where, and when.
- 32:01SPEAKER_05: I feel an early grief awareness of evolution as Jesse knew from our relationship that I would get the meaning of the signs and who to go through to get the message to me.
- 32:16SPEAKER_05: This is beyond and nothing shy of a transcendence of an awakening to be taught to all.
- 32:24SPEAKER_05: I'm going to leave it at that, but that is part of last year's writing.
- 32:30SPEAKER_05: A year.
- 32:32SPEAKER_05: Well, December 6th.
